Speaker 2 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Oh what is going on?
Welcome in, Happy late night. We got all kinds of
things to talk about here. It's not your normal set
of headlines.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
You know.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
We've got like suspension news and injury news stuff like that.
But this part of the sports calendar, it reminds me
of a couple of movies. It reminds me of Saving
Private Ryan, and it reminds me you hate Saving Private Ryan? Yes,
why it scarred me when I was young? How so,

(01:03):
what was it about it?

Speaker 5 (01:05):
That very first scene when all the soldiers are out
in the field and the guy has his guts hanging
out and he's streaming for his mom.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Yeah, well that would do it good scar you for sure.
It's like Coop watching The Exorcist at five years old.
You know, you're interestine. That's just a movie, you know,
it's one of those things. But it does remind me
of blackhawk Down and Saving Private Ryan. Now, there's a
scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan when they're

(01:33):
guarding the final bridge and they're loading. They're getting all
of their AMMO to the middle of the table and
Tom Hanks is like, well, this is it, this is
all we got.

Speaker 6 (01:43):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
That's what the sports world reminds me of right now
in terms of headlines. Not the sexiest of headlines, but
it's kind of like black hawk Down. You just make do.
This is a part of that movie.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
When every vehicle possible movie, it's got four wheels in armor.

Speaker 8 (01:58):
Get it, get.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Everything right, just get everything, get everything, throw.

Speaker 9 (02:01):
It out there, let's get after it.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
That's how I feel about tonight's show. But just got
to be creative. I think there's plenty of good stuff
to hit on, and you're always welcome to participate. Militia
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is your number,
or on X if you want to tweet me at
the no show is where you can find me as well.
Some people complain about the E in my name, just
remember if you're trying to find me there no is

(02:25):
spelled n oe. All right, there you go, good night.
Know it is not that no or n O. Yeah,
throw the e. Gotta throw the e over there, you know. Okay,
So we start with is this good news?

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Now?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Initially it sounds like it is, but I'm not convinced
that it actually is. This is Chiefs wide receiver Rashie Rice.
So he's gonna have a disciplinary hearing that's expected to
be on September thirtieth in New York. So this means
he'll likely be able to play the first four weeks

(03:01):
of the season before any potential discipline, and we can
eliminate potential he's going to be disciplined like he had
a role in a multi car crash I left multiple
people injured during the twenty twenty four offseason. It's finally
played out in court. It's done with. So now it's
the NFL stepping in determining what the punishment is going
to be. The interesting part is it's supposed to happen

(03:25):
around September thirtieth, So you think, okay, rashi Rice. All
these reports from Chiefs camp just glowing reports. Some of
these reporters are saying he actually looks better and more
explosive than he did before he suffered a knee injury
last season. And so it's like, all right, Chiefs, they're
cooking with grease. Now they got their wide receiver one,

(03:47):
Rashie Rice on the field for the first four weeks
most likely. But I started thinking about this, and I'm like,
if it's up to the Chiefs, if they had it,
if they had their preference, what would their preference be?
Would it be that Let's just say it's a four
week suspension. I don't know how long it's going to be,
but just for the sake of argument, let's just say

(04:07):
it's four games. Okay. If you're the Chiefs, would you
prefer your stud wide receiver to be suspended for the
first four games or like the next four games, you
know what I mean? Instead of weeks one through four,
would you pick weeks five through eight? Which would you choose?

(04:28):
I honestly don't know what they would choose. And I
looked at this. I'm strangely curious about this whole thing
because I'm looking at the schedule and I'm considering all
these things. If you look at the Rashie Rice situation,
just from the schedule standpoint, I think that the first
four games are a little tougher than the next four games.

(04:50):
So if Rashi Rice, if you were suspended the first
four weeks, which it sounds like he will not be.
So they take on the Chargers in Brazil. By the way,
fun fact, so I I dated a Brazilian girl one time.
That's not the fun fact. Well maybe maybe it is,
but she I said Brazil one time, like that's how

(05:10):
and she looked at me sideways and she goes, you
don't say it with an L. She's like, it's Brazil.
And I'm like, like with a W at the end,
and she's like, yeah, like Brazil. I'm like, all right,
I don't make the rules. Apparently that's the way if
you want to get in cool with the Brazilian crowd,
you don't go with an L at the end of
the pronunciation. You go with a W. But in any event,

(05:33):
the Chiefs aret taking on the Chargers in Brazil. That's
the first game. Then they're at home to host the
Eagles at the Giants on a Sunday night. Then they
host the Ravens. So think of the three of the
first four games. Chargers internationally Eagles Ravens that that's pretty
tough slate. So it looks like Rashi Rice will be

(05:54):
there for the first four weeks. If you're a Chiefs fans,
probably good news. Now if you look at the next
four games at Jacksonville on a Monday night, host the Lions,
on a Sunday night, host the Raiders, host the Commanders
on a Monday night. So you've got three of the
next four games our primetime games, a couple of Monday

(06:15):
night games, a Sunday night game. Get the Lions in there,
get the Commanders in there. So it's not like this
layup of games, you know, layup city the next four weeks.
So like the schedule is what it is if you
think of it from a rhythm standpoint, right, having Rashie
Rice miss weeks one through four or miss weeks five

(06:37):
through eight, I really don't know what their preference would
be think about this. I think there are arguments on
both sides. You could start the season with Rashie Rice.
He's there for the first four games, you start to
establish a rhythm, and then the suspension kicks in and
he's gone for a little bit of time and then
he comes back. Is that easier for your team compared to, Hey,

(07:01):
he's just gone the first four weeks, we got to
make do without him, and then boom, he's there for
Week five and if healthy, he's there for the rest
of the season. I really don't know what their preference
would be. I don't My guess is it would probably
differ from team to team, from player to player. There
might be like Mahomes might say, Oh, my preference is this. Meanwhile,

(07:21):
Josh Allen might say, well, you know, if it were
up to me and it's my stud wide receiver is
suspended for weeks one through four or weeks five through eight,
this is what I would prefer. I really don't know.
I don't know my I would say, my preference is
to have Rashie Rice there for the first four games.
You play three tough teams Chargers, Eagles, Ravens, and I

(07:45):
also think to establish a rhythm, to get into a
groove to have him there for the beginning of the season.
I think that's important because you start to get you know,
solidified as an offense, and you find out what works,
you're finding out what doesn't. You're starting to get into

(08:05):
these patterns right and then he's gone for a little while,
you have to make do, and then he's back. I
think that's a little bit easier than it is to
just not have him there for four weeks. You're trying
to make do, maybe you start establishing some rhythms, you're
getting into some patterns that are working, and then all
of a sudden he's there and you have to recalibrate everything.

(08:29):
I think the way it looks like it's gonna shake out,
which is Russ g Rice is going to be there
for the first four weeks. It's just like an injury almost.
You know, he goes away for the next four games
or however long the suspension is, I don't know, and
then you get him back. I think that's a little
bit better. So I don't know why mine just latched

(08:50):
onto that one, Like I don't. I'm strangely curious from
team to team what they would prefer if it were
up to me. If I'm a Chiefs fan, put it
that way, I would prefer for him to be there
for the first four weeks. Now. The disciplinary officer the
Blast from the Past, Sue L. Robinson. She's jointly appointed

(09:11):
by the NFL and the NFL Players Association to oversee
this disciplinary stuff. Right, used to be Goodell. Now it's
Sue L. Robinson. You might be like, how do I
know that name? That's what I was thinking. It's it's like, okay,
she presided over the Deshaun Watson disciplinary hearing, right, she

(09:32):
was the one that determined how long that suspension was
going to be. And her name was thrown out there
all the freaking time. What Sue L. Robinson gonna rule?

Speaker 3 (09:41):
What?

Speaker 4 (09:42):
She blah blah blah. So that's the same Sue L. Robinson.
This is only her second disciplinary hearing. So the second
case she's presided over will be Rashi Rice and we'll see.
I'm curious how long the suspension is going to be
and what week it actually kicks in. But that's the story.
He's supposed to get this disciplinary hearing on September thirtieth

(10:05):
in New York, and if that is the date, that
means he would be able to play the first four games.
So there you go. I think kind of interesting stuff,
by the way, for what it's worth in terms of
the suspension, amount of time, the length of the suspension.
So he pled guilty to two third degree felony charges

(10:26):
it was collusion involving serious bodily injury and racing on
the highway causing bodily injury. Now he received deferred adjudications.
That means the case will be dismissed if he completes
the probation. Basically, it's like you have this probationary period
where if you don't screw up again, it just goes away.

(10:48):
It's basically how it works. So take that for what
it's worth. Sue L. Robinson will take all that into
account and she'll say three game suspension or I don't,
oh no, somewhere between three and six would be my guess.
Maybe like three four games probably what he gets. But
I'll tell you what, man Rashi Rice being back for

(11:09):
that Chief's offense is gonna be a big big deal.
He was off to a magnificent start last season, played
only three and a half games, productive, had twenty four catches,
almost three hundred yards, and three touchdown grabs in three
and a half games, averaging a touchdown a game basically,
so to have him back in the mix, that is

(11:29):
a big big deal. I don't understand these people that
are like, ah, the blueprint has been figured out over here.
The blueprint to beating the Chiefs that's established based on
the Eagles beating them. It's like, dude, the Eagles have
such a special roster. Let's not make it sound like
the Raiders bring the same thing to the table, you

(11:49):
know what I mean? Like this idea that the Chiefs
are gonna be I don't know, eight to nine this
season is ridiculous. I think that they're gonna still own
that division. I think they're still gonna be the biggest
problem in the AFC. You could argue the entire NFL.
But for Mahomes to have these weapons back led by
Rashie Rice is a big, big deal. But there you go.

(12:12):
Be there. For the first four weeks, it looks like,
all right, we have plenty to get to. Tonight eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox is your number. More injury
news around the corner. One other guy is on the show.
I know, aren't you in the market for some good
injury news? Oh gosh, it's like you know, going to

(12:32):
the spas, like, ah, this is injury news, just what
I needed. But there's more injury news. And there's another
guy who's not injured at all, but he's actually going
to play, which I think is a good move, So
I'll throw a bunch of stories your way. Coming up next,
I'm Brian no In for Big Ben Maler. Keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (12:51):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maler

He's still moving.

Speaker 4 (13:29):

Big Ben Malor and it is time for the tire
rack play of the day.

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Hit high left center field at the fence turns Hey, Tony, Big.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Five Vladimir Carrero.

Speaker 7 (13:47):
Junior lot Stunner step around second as he slams the
Blue Jays in front two to one. You're in the
bottom of the seventh inning.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Yeah, there you go. Blue Jay's Radio Network. On the
call of d Flat Junior goes yard. Blue Jay's playing
some ball. They beat the Cubbies by that same score,
two to one. For over forty years, ty Iraq has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive. Shipped fast and free, backed by
free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile

(14:18):
tire installation. Tiraq dot Com the way tire buying should be.
There you go.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
Man.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Baseball season winding down. It's funny because the season is
so long. I read something literally a day or two
ago where it's like we're at the three quarter point
of the season. It's like we have the whole final
quarter of the season to go. It's like, my gosh,
we still have a good amount of baseball left. You

(14:46):
have forty some games ish right around there. That's just
still a chunk of the season. It's a quarter of
the season, so it's a long I don't know about you,
but I feel like man, the playoffs begin in a
couple of weeks. No, no, the actual several weeks from now.
Just a long man. But Blue Jays are playing some ball,
playing really well. Okay, So more injury news, huh, in

(15:09):
the market for some hot injury news talk, I am.
This is concerning Joe Flacco. Brown's QB one as of
right now according to their depth chart. So he's not
gonna play on Saturday night at the Eagles. You know,
he's older. They're just gonna leave him out. Probably a

(15:29):
little bit nicked up too, but he's not gonna play.
Shaduur Sanders is unlikely to play. Also, he's got that
oblique injury. So you're probably gonna get Dylan Gabriel, another
rookie quarterback. And then Tyler Huntley or as I found
out last year when he was starting games for my
Dolphins for a little bit of the season while Toul

(15:50):
was make sure you're sitting down for this, Toul was injured.
You know, so Snoop Huntley. I didn't realize that Snoop
Huntley that's his nickname over there. But back to Tyler,
I guess Tyler Huntley, it's gonna be Dylan Gabriel and
Tyler Slash Snoop Huntley that will get the majority of
the snaps for the Brownies that'll be on Saturday Night
against the Eagles. And the thing here, I was thinking

(16:14):
about this with Shadeur Sanders and I want to do
a long drawn out thing here, but two thoughts that
I have. One I was thinking about, do you think
it makes sense that Shaduur Sanders is the biggest story
in the NFL right now? And I think there are
good arguments on both sides. Whether he say, oh, yeah,

(16:36):
it actually does make sense, You're like, no, it doesn't
make any sense at all. So the no argument would be, like,
the dude is QB four on the Browns. That's their
depth chart right now. They got him fourth. He's looking
up at Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dylan Gabriel. So
how he's the biggest story in the NFL and arguably

(16:58):
the sports world right now is looney tunes. That's wild.
At best case scenario, he's gonna be the backups, backup
week one rolls around, So I could see someone like,
why is this such a big story. On the other side,
I think the argument for why he's the biggest story

(17:19):
in the NFL and maybe even the sports world right now.
Why it makes sense is he's like Bronnie James with talent.
You know how big of a story Bronnie James was
in Summer League last year?

Speaker 9 (17:31):
Was that just a diss of Bronnie James.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
I mean, it's just reality. He's Bronnie James with some talent.
It's true. I'm not trying to, you know, cloub er
Bronni James, but it's true. Bronni James would not be
in the NBA without Lebron James. We know this. Shadeur
Sanders would be in the NFL without Dion Sanders. The
funny thing is, without Dion Sanders, Shadeur Sanders might have

(17:56):
been a much higher draft pick. I think it's ridiculous
for teams to think that where it's like, oh, but
there was a lot of conversation. I wouldn't be surprised
if a lot of teams thought that, where it's like, oh,
we have to put up with Dion Sanders and oh,
this is his famous dad. And maybe I never bought
into any of that. That was a popular theory of oh,

(18:19):
you're gonna have to deal with Dion Sanders as if
he's what he's opening up Colorado Buffalo press conferences talking
all things Cleveland Browns, where it's like, hey, hey, coach Prime,
what do you think about your first Big twelve game
this this weekend here? And he's like, you know what,
I'll get to that, but a couple of things are
on my mind about my son not getting first team reps,

(18:43):
like it's all about the Cleveland Browns. That was never
realistic to begin with. That was dumb, Like what has
Dion said? What has he tweeted? That's just been so
difficult for the Browns to deal with? So I thought
that whole line of thinking was just dumb. But I
wouldn't be surprised if some teams thought that, where they're like,
all right, is the talent enough to deal with the

(19:07):
potential circus? I think some teams thought like that. But
the point is that Shadeur Sanders he's got a lot
more talent than Brownie James does. But he also has
a famous father and that makes the story that much bigger.
And people really like Shador. Some people really dislike Shador,

(19:30):
which is strange to me. The reasons for why do
you dislike Shador. I mean the flash, the flash, I
mean the style the guy. Okay, the flash in the style.
It's that's what's keeping you up at night. You know,
you're waking up in cold sweats. You're having a hard
time resting because of the flash and the sizzle of
Shador Sanders. What are we doing here? But everybody's got

(19:54):
an opinion about the guy. So from that aspect, while
we're in pre season foot ball, it does make sense
why he's such a gigantic story. So I'm actually of
the mindset it does make sense that the story is
this big. And make no mistake, he is the biggest
story in the NFL. Right now, who's bigger? What's the

(20:17):
bigger story? I mean, a lot of these stories are
just in passing. There isn't anything with real staying power
to the same degree that Shador Sanders that storyline what
it's provided. And so with all those reasons, I think
it does make sense. I could see the counter argument,
but listen, man, you don't have to be the biggest

(20:40):
thing in a sport to be the biggest story. You
could be the biggest thing in a sport and still
not be a big story that has happened plenty of times,
so yeah, I think it does make sense. The other
thing that I thought of, and this was actually kind
of like on the fly during the show, because I
know what it was. They played an odd couple promo

(21:03):
with Rob Parker. Rob g was sitting in. They were
talking about how Rob disagreed with a lot of the
talking heads saying that the Browns are setting up should
do her to fail, and they talked about Lewis Reddick,
and Lewis didn't actually say that, which they said in
the promo. Lou Ridick didn't actually say that, but his
tone he was as close to saying that without saying it.

(21:28):
He's hinting, like, bro, man, they're putting him in a
rough spot, Like what are the Browns doing over here?
They're setting this kid up.

Speaker 10 (21:34):
You know.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
He came as close as you can to doing a
cannonball in those waters saying that the Browns are setting
him up to fail. RG three tweeted it. Stephen A.
Smith set it where they were setting him up to fail,
and Rob Parker was basically saying, I just totally agree disagree,
which is what I think too, And what I thought

(21:56):
of too, is that Lewis Riddick, and I was trying
to get to the sound. I'm looking for it right now.
But Lou Riddick, when he was on Get Up, he
was talking about the whole situation with Shadur Sanders, and
he compared it to his own situation in the league.
And every now and then it takes me a second
and something will pop it into my head, like, hey,

(22:17):
you know what, you might want to look up what
draft pick Lewis Riddick was in the NFL, you know
what I mean? And I look that up. And so
Lou Riddick, So he was a defensive back. He started
off with the Falcons, was with the Browns for a
little bit, ended with the Raiders. So short career, we're
talking six years in the NFL. But he was a

(22:40):
ninth round pick. This is way back in ninety one
when the draft was many more rounds than right now.
It's only seven rounds now. He was a ninth round pick.
He was two hundred and forty eighth overall. And so
that's the dangerous part if a player like Lewis Riddick
is comparing his situation in the NFL to Shadure Sanders situation,

(23:03):
in the NFL. It's not exactly apples to apples. So
let's rewind back to what Lewis Riddick said about Shaduur Sanders.
This was the week leading up to Chadure's preseason debut
against Carolina. He threw the two touchdown passes, all of that,
but due to a lack of reps in practice, Lewis
Riddick compared his situation as an NFL player to Shaduur Sanders'

(23:27):
current situation as an NFL player. Check this out.

Speaker 11 (23:29):
I'm afraid he's gonna get on the field in preseason
games without a lot of practice reps, and then they're
going to ask him to perform these heroic tasks in
order to prove that he's worthy of being a starter
when he hasn't had enough rep to really get comfortable.
That's the kind of battle he's dealing with right now.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
I know.

Speaker 11 (23:44):
I've seen it, Tom, You've seen it. We've been in
these camps. We know how that goes. You don't get
enough reps. They play a whole half of a game
and then all of a sudden, coaches are going, why
are you making that mistake? Why aren't you making that check,
why are you doing that technique? Well, damn, coach, I
never was in there in practice. You never even talked
to me during practice, But now you expect me to know.
That's what they're gonna expect of him. But if anyone
can get it done, it's this kid, because he's been

(24:06):
trained the right way. But I'm telling you he is
ice skating uphill.

Speaker 7 (24:10):
He just is.

Speaker 11 (24:11):
And every time you hear this organization talk, you get
that feel.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
Okay, so right, he's making it sound like the Browns
are setting him up, they're putting him in a really
really tough position, that sort of thing. He came as
close as saying they're setting him up to fail without
actually saying that. But the point I'm making is, although
that does happen in the NFL, let's not make it
sound like all things are equal. Lewis Riddick was not

(24:37):
a star player in college. He was not you know,
he was not talked about like crazy. It wasn't a
projected top ten pick who fell to the later rounds.
That there was nothing that all of those things matter.
And so like, what's in it for the Browns if
Shadour fails? Like, how is that benefiting them. Why would

(25:00):
they want to put him in a position where he
goes out there and he's skating uphill, he hasn't had reps.
Why would they want to do that. They don't want
to do that. I just look at you know, if
Lou Riddick is a ninth round pick, could I see
a team that's like, you know, Lou didn't get his
reps today. They're not gonna be like, oh no, oh no,

(25:20):
we got to change that. We gotta get him his reps.
We've gotta make sure, best case scenario, he's not going
to be a player with great value that other teams
are interested in trading for. Shador Sanders could be a
guy like that that other teams are interested in trading for.
So I just don't think that it's the same situation.
I don't think it's even close to the same situation.

(25:42):
But hey, take that for what it's worth. We turned
the page on all that stuff. One other player to
mention here before I get to the militia that isn't
injured at all, but we'll be getting on the field
for the first time in this year's preseason. That would
be Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. So he'll be playing. This
will be on Sunday night. It'll be a Fox game, right,

(26:05):
a little Sunday night football, Bears hosting the Bills. Caleb
Williams will get some playing time. I have no idea.
It didn't make any sense whatsoever to me that Caleb
Williams didn't see the field last week against the Dolphins.
I think it makes all the sense in the world
to get him a couple of series. He's got a
lot of new teammates. You know, he got some rookie

(26:27):
He's got a rookie tight end, rookie wide receiver, three
new interior offensive linemen. Now granted all of them probably
wouldn't play. Joe Tooney, it doesn't need to play in
the preseason. So you run a risk if you throw
your QB one out there and you don't have all
the ones with him. You don't want to put him
in a position where he's likely to get injured. Right,

(26:48):
But I think it makes a ton of sense to
get Caleb Williams out there. He's got a brand new
head coach, new playbook, new terminology, new interior offensive line,
new weapons to throw too. It's just new all across
the board. The first game of the year is against
the Vikings with defensive coordinator Brian Flores, who has all

(27:08):
these disguised looks, this tricky defense he's gonna be throwing
at him. The last thing that Caleb Williams needs is
to not be up to speed with the playbook, the terminology,
the new head coach, the new teammates. That has to
be on point because he's going up against a tough
defense and a really tough defensive coordinator. So I think

(27:31):
all that other stuff has got to be right, and
it makes more sense to get him out there in
a game like situation, to get him a couple of series.
So he's playing against the Bills. I thought it was
a missed opportunity last week against the Dolphins, and that's
something I disagreed with with their new head coach Ben Johnson.
He was like, well, even though he didn't play in
the preseason game, we were able to get Caleb Williams

(27:54):
like eighty more reps. Someone's got to break that down
for me, Like, why why would it eliminate Caleb Williams
reps had he played last week against the Dolphins in
their first preseason game, How does that eliminate practice reps.
I don't get that. Why can't you have both? Why
can't he get a series or two and also get

(28:18):
practice reps. Why is it one or the other. That
never made any sense to me whatsoever. But hey, whatever,
we know that he'll be on the field against the
Bills on Sunday Night. That might be and I don't
know this for sure, that might be a little Fox
dress rehearsal. You know, like these national crews, they'll get
a couple of games in the preseason. Maybe that'll be

(28:39):
a Kevin Burkhart Tom Brady game. I'm not sure it
might be. But that's Sunday night, Bears hosting the Bills.
With that, let's get to the militia eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. Oh man, this guy, he might
want to gloat. I hope he has new picks for us,
because Poppy, he crushed the baseball picks last time.

Speaker 9 (28:58):
I encourage him.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Brian, Uh, oh, well, he's gonna throw out picks regardless
whatever I say, Lorena, Let's see what Poppy has to say.
He's in San Diego. What's going on? Poppy?

Speaker 6 (29:08):
Hey, what's going on? Brian? Well, yeah, you called it
right last week. I predicted it here where should Door Sanders?
He shined and my surprise, no, Brian, But I'm glad
you're showing door Sanders some more love than you did
last week, because last week, if I reckon my call, right,
you're like, here, you're going against the first team and like, oh,

(29:29):
he hasn't had reps and I'm like, that don't matter.
So what I was thinking, Brian, like, are you surprised
how he performed? George Paters?

Speaker 4 (29:38):
He played al right, he played well. I give him
his flowers. You know, this is the most annoying type
of call, Poppy. I just want to tell the I
was right, and you were the guy saying, like the
photographic memory, that's the most annoying thing on the face
of the earth. Poppy. Yeah, your Q rating is dwindling
in my eyes right now. I told you not to
encourage him.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
Well, Brian, well, sha door Standers. He did amazing and
look unfortunately he does. He did get hurt, you know
how you were saying, blig list his shoulder whatever. But
it's all right. I mean the Browns already saw enough
what they did. And I felt, Brian that we had
like the Domino Tec because we were talking about shad
door Sanders here last week and then everyone coffeecat Lake

(30:19):
on Fox Sports Raiders. They were talking about door standards,
but we said it here first, Brian. But now I
am going to give some picks about the preseason. I
know you've been cranking those picks. But tomorrow there's two
games and it's the Falcons and decided that is a
little bit boring, to be honest. If Camboard is gonna play,
I think you guys are gonna bet on that one.
Bet on the under. I think he's going to get

(30:40):
their limited mats and he's not really going to play.
But on this game, I think the home team, the Falcons.
I think they're at plus four and a half right now, right, Brian,
Falcons on that one.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
So yeah, yeah, which one? Which side do you like
in that one?

Speaker 6 (30:54):
I'm liking the Falcons of dirty Birds four and a half.
They're playing at home. All the fans are gonna be happy,
you know, positive energy, cheap food, you know, I mean,
I think Lorena will be happy there. So maybe you
know we should go over there and watch a home
game right there. And you know everybody loves cheap food,
you know, So I like the Falcons. And then on
the on the second game, it's the Chiefs against the

(31:15):
Seattle Seahawks. I know that's the Lorena's hometown, Seattle. They're
looking pretty good. Look on the Seahawks, guys, I know
you know, Sam Donald is gonna be playing all the
first team reps. So on the prop bet on that one,
I don't know what the line is, Brian, I will
go over on Sam Donald on the yards. I don't
know what that is, but he's gonna be starting. So
I really do like Sam Donald. And so the Dolphins is

(31:37):
gonna be moving. But on the winning side, I'm gonna
I'm gonna have to stick the cheese on this month.
On the preseason plus three points, there's a lot of
points for the preseason ran right, and and the main
take the best for last. We're gonna give a UFC
pick UFC three to nineteen, Brian, we got the main event.
We got through Oxford Duplex from South Africainst. Tamaya, Uhama right,

(32:02):
minus two forty. This is attacked too un again and
this is in Chicago, Tamaya. We're gonna go with uh Chamayas.
We're gonna go with him minus two forty. Everyone's rooting
for him.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
Minus two forty. That's what you're bringing to the table tonight.
Minus two forty. What is this?

Speaker 6 (32:21):
I'm gonna smash his head, Brian. He's gonna smash his head,
and he's for real, he's gonna smash his You know,
I really love the face off when they we're facing
off a lot of tension, and I thought that's gonna
be the best fighting minus two forty. That's a still
right there. So I'm loving the minus two forty on
that one.

Speaker 4 (32:38):
You better not lose a minus two forty bed over here, Poppy.
That's it gets your banned for at least a week.
You know, you can't be losing. You can't as bank
roll right there. You know, hopefully it's a layup and
it cashes.

Speaker 6 (32:50):
It is a layup. He's gonna smash his head and
he's gonna eat on my life.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
How he said, all right, all right, we'll see how
it works out, Poppy. I'll be rooting for you, Bud.
Appreciate you. Check it in the one thing and don't
take this as me, you know, because Poppy will take
this as me. It's like I just told him something
to keep in mind. You know what Shouduur is that
Panthers defense, the ones who were supposed to play for
a little while, Shauduur got a ton of playing times.

(33:15):
So hey, Poppy was right, he got it, you know,
two touchdown passes give him his props. But he's on
the Falcons. I know that Pennix Junior and Kirk Cousins
they will not be playing. So if you're rolling with
the Falcons even plus four, you're rolling with their backup, backup,
backup QBS. Which, hey, maybe maybe it works out, maybe
it's problematic. I don't know, just something to keep in mind.

(33:37):
That's all just throwing it out there. I will get
back to the militia coming up right around the corner. Also,
some potentially outstanding news for our guy Justin Cooper. It's
my brighten, his evening in his early hours. Right. Yeah,
that's along the way as well. I'm Brian though in
for Big Ben Mallor keep it locked right here on

(33:57):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (33:58):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm probably though in for
Big Ben Maller. You know, I kind of like this
music makes sense for what I'm gonna throw out there
right here, Little Britney spears in the background. I don't know,
it seems to fit, but some almost like pop news.
If you will, Coop, I know you're a big Sydney
Sweeney fan, big fan, right that hasn't changed, has it?

Speaker 9 (34:26):
I know it has not.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Okay, I don't even know if this story is true,
but fingers crossed it is so. Apparently Sydney Sweeney is
a big Washington Commander's fan, and she said in a
recent interview and backed it up on social media that
she will celebrate naked should the Washington Commanders win a

(34:47):
Super Bowl this season. And she says, I'm not kidding,
you know, I'm gonna be in the parade with nothing
but my commander's gear and a smile. Let's make history together,
is what she threw out there. So if your Broncos
can't win, you know, maybe the Commander's not a bad
you know, not a bad consolation present right there, Coop?

(35:08):
If it entails Sydney Sweeney, you know, going birthday suit
over here?

Speaker 9 (35:13):
Is this true? I saw this quote and I did
not believe it. I thought it was a fake quote.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
It very much could be. I I don't know, like
I've I've gone all over the place and can't confirm it.
All I can say is fingers crossed that there's some
validity to it. Yeah, I don't personally believe it. But
if she's a Washington commander's fan, that that's the other
part that I didn't realize. And I was strangely curious
about that. Did you know? So I was looking at

(35:40):
the famous fans for certain NFL teams. If I I
just threw out some names, you know, Lady Gaga. Who
do you think Lady Gaga roots for what NFL team?
You have any idea? I didn't have any idea.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
The Giants, I'm going to write.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
Good job, thanks for letting me guess you were going
to get it.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Was going to be wrong. Nice job, coup, Very well
done by you. You know you. Thank you.

Speaker 9 (36:07):
I'm not open. Look at what I what I have
on the show. I know I'm going to validate your cheating.
It's I have Sidney Sweeney Redskins typed into Google. No,
I mean I guessed I had. I had a you know,
fifty to fifty shot. It was going to be the
Giants or the Jets. She's from New York.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Yeah, true, narrowed it down right there. Do you know
who Amy Adams is a big fan of?

Speaker 9 (36:32):
You know, I don't know where she's from.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
I'm not sure where she's from either.

Speaker 9 (36:37):
Nope, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
You're Broncos. Oh yes, how about that Amy Adams rooting
for the Broncos over there. Didn't realize that. But there
are a bunch of names on this list. Uh, some
are kind of interesting.

Speaker 9 (36:50):
Amy van Dykin also a Broncos fan.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
There you go. Stacey Keebler remember her? Like, w was
it w W E or w C?

Speaker 9 (37:00):
I mean it was technically WWF back when she was
in it, but yeah ww Okay.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
Ravens apparently a big Ravens fan.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
I was gonna guess Baltimore Ravens. No you weren't, Yes,
I was, but it was with the last one, not
this one.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
Yeah, okay, with Amy Adams, I got it. Yeah, yeah yeah.
And that's all the females. Everybody else is just dudes
on this list. Apparently Johnny Depp is a Dolphins fan,
so you know, got Donny Brosco on the Dolphins side.
That's good, not bad. Yeah, a couple of singers on

(37:35):
the Patriots. You probably know this. You knew John bon Jovi.
I would imagine. I didn't know Elton John. You know
Elton John is a Patriots fan.

Speaker 9 (37:43):
I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Yeah, there you go. Will Ferrell Seahawks fan. I didn't
know that.

Speaker 9 (37:49):
I knew he was a Trojans fan.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
I didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't know. I didn't
think Seahawks. There you go. Let's get back out to
the militia here. Emmett is an OLYMPI. Yeah, he's up next.
What's going on? Ett? You're on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (38:04):
I just gained a new respect for Will Farrell. Brian, No,
thanks for that note.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
That's right. Yeah, he's down with very nice man.

Speaker 10 (38:13):
You know, it's kind of cool to hear like celebrities
like that. I mean, like like your team Ammy Adams,
like in the Broncos. Is kind of crazy. But I'm
gonna throw this out here for you about the Seahawks,
speaking of because Will Ferrell, he brought me to bring this.
So Sam Donald is obviously going to be the starting
quarterback and you're talking about it with I believe Jos
Schwartzen for the pros and Joe basically saying, how you

(38:34):
guys are questioning why some quarterbacks don't start and some do.
I'm so glad that the Seahawks are making this adjustment.
I think that him not playing Week one it was stupid.
He comes into a new system with a completely different
style of offense, where Kevin O'Connell he's a quarterback mastermind, and
he comes in and now Sam Donald gets to play

(38:54):
under the system. I'm so glad that it's actually happening.
I think that if you want Sam Donald to succeed
in the regular season, like you were saying with Caleb,
he needs reps, he needs real game time reps. And
it's a little bit different. Sam Darnald's been there before,
but he's on a new team. And the other interesting
thing I was gonna bring up, I'll throw this at you,
is Jalen Milroe, the Seahawks quarterback we took from Alabama.

(39:15):
A lot of people were saying that, oh, maybe he's
gonna start, like eventually. I don't think that's gonna happen.
I think Sam Donald is gonna be fine this year,
and I don't think we're gonna move on to Milroe
at any point in time this year, unless Darnald gets hurt.
I think that if anything's gonna happen, it's gonna be
Donald's gonna ride the full year out and then we're
gonna opt out of that contract. But I was talking

(39:36):
to people on my show today and they were saying
that if Donald were to get hurt, they'd rather see
Drew Locke over Jaln Milroe, which I thought it was
a little bit crazy. So the question I'll ask you, Brian,
is do you see Jaln Milroe starting at any point
in time for the Seattle Seahawks this year.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
I mean, it's it's possible. It's always good to hear
from you. EMMTT good stuff.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Man.

Speaker 4 (39:56):
Look, it's possible, I think more what's more likely is
Donald gets the entire year, and it could be a
one and done situation, possibly right Like, I don't love
the mixture of if the offensive line in Sam Darnold,
who is not good facing a pass rush. He's not

(40:16):
good under pressure, not good under duress, as they say,
you know, I don't like that scenario for Sam, But
I don't know that it's so bad where record wise
or lack of production wise for Donald that he's getting
replaced by a rookie in his first year with Seattle.

(40:36):
I have a hard time seeing that, I said, but
if it comes to that, if you know Donald struggling,
I would put Milrow in there before before lock. I
would not coming up next scathing compliments and
