Speaker 2 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Oh what is going on? Welcome in here. We got
all kinds of stuff going on. We got sex toys
flying on courts and the WNBA still we have. We
have Malton Militia, a knockdown, drag out fight that is
brewing between myself and Justin Cooper that will come your

(00:50):
way throughout the show this morning. And also we got ball, man,
we got ball all over the place. It's a month away,
and we get the NFL even shorter for college football.
All kinds of stuff going on when it comes to ball.
Of course, rational thinking human beings consider ball to be football.

(01:13):
So that's where we start right here. We start with
I was thinking about this with Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. Okay,
so there was a video floating around of Caleb Williams
trying to throw a football into a net. Okay, so
they had like these three openings in the net, and

(01:33):
you're trying to hit each opening, right It kind of
if you have a shorter like a slot receiver, that's
the shorter one. Then there's like a medium one. Then
there's like a taller one if you have dk Metcalf
or someone to throw to like that, you know, so
it's like small, medium in large. So he's trying to
throw the ball through the net and he's missing, and
then he's missing again. Then he misses one more time,

(01:55):
and then he's frustrated. And now all of a sudden,
this is a thing. Were like, oh God, I don't
know about this guy. Here we go again, Caleb Williams. No, no, no,
there's actually a tweet so Scott Barrett, he covers fantasy football,
and he tweeted it caught my attention. He tweeted, My

(02:15):
uncle just texted me this told you that nail polish
was a red flag. Like there are people that think
these things, like realistically think these things. And so I
started thinking about Caleb Williams, and I thought about it
from more of like a bigger level, more of like
a league wide level, because Caleb Williams is incredibly scrutinized.

(02:41):
Right he's under the microscope. We're breaking down him throwing
a ball into a net, and this is a thing.
It's ridiculous. But the question becomes when you expand it
beyond Caleb Williams. Is Caleb Williams the most scrutiny NFL

(03:01):
quarterback right now? Is he at the top of the list?
And so I started thinking about quarterbacks around the league.
Who's on the short list as one of the most
scrutinized quarterbacks in the league right now? So I've got
a few guys on my list. Guys are more than
willing to participate, are more than welcome, I should say,

(03:21):
I don't know if you're willing, we'll find out, but
you're more than welcome to participate. So on my short
list of most scrutinized NFL quarterbacks, let's define that first.
We just pick on them at every everything they do.
It's like the Police song. It's like when Sting said this,

(03:42):
that's right, We'll be watching everything you every little thing
you do. We're gonna be all over it. We're gonna
be scrutinizing it, we might make a bigger deal than
there needs to be made about it, but you better
believe we'll be watching everything and we might react to
ninety five percent of those things. Right, So scrutinized, meaning

(04:02):
that under the microscope, Dak Prescott has to be on
the short list. He's the quarterback of America's team, and
he hasn't had postseason success. Okay, so we follow everything
Dak Prescott does, and he was banged up last year,
only played eight games. But if he's behind center the

(04:22):
whole season, long rest assured, he is going to be
incredibly scrutinized. Someone else that's still on this list. You
have to include Brock Purty, the Niners QB. Now, I've
said many times, the Purty Police. They are everywhere, Okay,
the people, the defenders of Brock Purty. If you say

(04:46):
anything halfway critical about their guy, Brock Purty, they will
be lurking and just itching to make a citizen's arrest
if you slip up and say anything that's a little
bit too critical of their guy Brock. So there's this
back and forth thing with Brock Purty and I don't
The weird thing is, I don't think many people just

(05:08):
flat out trash the guy. I think the most common
take of brock Purty is he's pretty good but and
that's where we part. That's the fork in the road,
but not a difference maker in terms of once you
pay him huge money, he's able to compensate for the
deficiencies of the roster. Look, that's where the debate where

(05:32):
it lands. Right there. I don't believe he is a
difference maker. Now they have to cut corners, they have
to let some guys go. They've lost a lot of talent,
and I'm supposed to sit here and expect brock Purty
to take him to the promised Land when he doesn't
have as good of a supporting cast. I just don't
believe it. But because of that back and forth, that
discussion where I say that and some other people think

(05:55):
that and say that, it's met with the Purty police
who think he can do no wrong and he's or
it changed and he's undersold and he's not given his
flowers and YadA yaa. It goes back and forth. So
he is incredibly scrutinized. I would say a couple other
quarterbacks on the short list of most scrutinized right now
and heading into this season. Kind of like where it

(06:16):
stands right now and where I see it going this season,
you'd have to include. I believe Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence.
Now for the reasons why. Justin Herbert, He's had a
lot of regular season success, just in that playoff wins,
and there are a lot of people that hammer him
for that, and justifiably, so you gotta step up of

(06:38):
the postseason. You gotta produce, you gotta win games. Trevor Lawrence,
he was supposed to be the best prospect since Andrew
Luck number one overall pick. I thought he was going
to be a baller. He has not been a baller
or anything close to that while he's been in the NFL.
And it's go time now. I always got Leam Cohen

(07:01):
as a competent head coach, at least a competent offensive mind.
Brian Thomas Junior had a fantastic rookie season as a
wide receiver. Now he gets Trevor Travis Hunter. It's like
the excuses are over. It's go time. But everything that
Trevor Lawrence does, especially if he's not performing to the
level that we thought he would reach, especially at this point.

(07:24):
He gets hammered for that, and again rightfully so. But
he's scrutinized heavily, and I would argue as he should be.
He's a former number one overall pick. We're like best
prospects since Andrew Luck and he hasn't come close to
living up to that. I would also include in these
are more like the honorable mentioned guys. Two more on
my list of most scrutinized, and we'll whittle it down

(07:46):
to the most scrutinized quarterback in the league right now.
I would mention Aaron Rodgers as kind of like an
honorable mentioned guy. He's gonna be scrutinized quite a bit.
And I would say he's more like the Jerry Jones
of athletes, meaning he finds a way to keep himself

(08:07):
in the spotlight. Maybe it's a hit on the Pat
McAfee show, or he says something the spotlight. He's like,
oh wait, the spotlight's going away from me. Let's change that.
Let's put right back on me, right back on number twelve,
Right back on Aaron Rodgers. All right, So, like we're
going to be fixated on what Aaron Rodgers does and

(08:28):
doesn't do this season. I don't think it's going to be,
you know, top of the league scrutiny because we don't
realistically think the Steelers are going to challenge to win
a Super Bowl. Right, So if we had those sky
high expectations and he's underperforming or living up to them, like,

(08:52):
he's going to be scrutinized and talk about, like talked
about like crazy. But because we don't really think that,
I think that's gonna you lower the scrutiny just a
little bit. But he's still gonna be one of those
guys that were fixated on. And I would also say
another honorable mention. I would say Lamar Jackson. Now this

(09:13):
is primarily because of the playoffs. I don't think he's
a highly scrutinized player in the regular season because, look,
Lamar produces. Lamar has been incredibly productive. He's a two
time MVP. I think he should have been a three
time MVP. I thought his season was that special last year,

(09:33):
and so what's there to say? What's there to scrutinize
with Lamar in the regular season. He's productive, he's a
team guy, right, Like I love Lamar in the regular season.
My only beef with Lamar is he wets himself time
and time again in the playoffs. And so that's why
I say he's honorable mention. There's not a whole lot
of scrutiny in the regular season because he wins a ton,

(09:55):
he's highly productive. What's there to pick on, but that
debate rolls around the playoff skit here. So of these
guys at least on my list, and hey, you're more
than welcome to compare notes with me if you have
anybody else that I didn't mention and you want to
make the argument for the most scrutinized guy, feel free.
So of these guys that I have, whittle it down

(10:17):
to five guys most scrutinized short list, So I would
have Caleb Williams, Dak Prescott, brock Perdy, Justin Herbert, and
Trevor Lawrence. Of those guys, who's the most scrutinized guy,
you know who it is right now? It is Caleb Williams.
Caleb Williams is the most scrutinized NFL quarterback right now. Again,

(10:42):
we're breaking down a video of him throwing footballs into
a net as if that matters at all. There's a
follow up video where he's just he's making each throw
just money into the same net, right on the money,
right on the money, right on the money. Perfect. No
one cares. It's all about the one video where he

(11:04):
missed a few and then he was upset about it.
It's insane, right Like it goes back to his college
days where he cried in his mother's arms after they
walked lost to I think it was Washington. It was
this emotional back and forth game. You know they're not
gonna make it to the National Championship Games, emotional moment
he cried, big deal, guy cares and he paints his

(11:26):
fingernails as if that matters at all. This is insane
to me. This is like Andy Dalton territory. You're gonna
be like, what what does that mean? So when Andy
Dalton was coming out of TCU, I didn't realize this
was a thing. There are people who will throw it
out there where they're like, well, you know, we haven't
had a whole lot of ginger quarterbacks that have had

(11:48):
success in this league, right, Like Andy Dalton has red hair,
and so people are like, whoa I you know, I
can't buy Andy Dalton because of the red that to
me is in a similar category as Caleb Williams painting
his fingernails. I don't think it matters at all, but

(12:09):
there are many people who do. And that's the thing
that is the ultimate sign of being overly scrutinized, when
people point to that as if it matters, as if
it's like, oh, yeah, I told you this guy's not
gonna live up to being a number one overall draft pick.
I mean, he cried in his mother's arms, he paints

(12:29):
his fingernails. Look at this throwing the ball into the
net video. See there you go. Three things. No, that's
just being overly scrutinized. And when he was such a
lightning rod for opinions right like he was polarizing. Everybody
had an opinion on Caleb Williams at USC and that's
just trickled into Caleb Williams in the NFL. And I

(12:50):
think that some of this is his fault. This is
a story that went was a couple of months ago
right where seth Wickersham. He's got a book coming out
here soon talking about quarterbacks. He had some juicy details
in the book. There was some excerpts that were released
that we're talking about Caleb Williams didn't initially want to

(13:10):
be drafted by the Bears, And it was Caleb and
his inner circle, Caleb's dad. They're just giving quotes to
Seth Wickersham like yeah, didn't really want to go there,
and it's like, what what are you guys doing? Why
would you say this? This is something you say years
down the road after a lot of success in the NFL,

(13:32):
either your team wins a ton of games, you produce,
you put up all these numbers, a lot of success,
and then it's like, oh, yeah, by the way, initially
I didn't even want to be drafted by the Bears.
And it's just like a fun fact at that point,
like really, no kidding, you didn't want to go there,
not after a rookie year where you struggle. That's a
terrible idea. So I think that he's done himself a

(13:55):
disservice by being a little bit too lippy, because some
people do that, they oversh you know, we're in the
day of day and age of Hey, I just ate
a ham sandwich for lunch and we're like cool, no
one cares. It's over sharing. That was Caleb Williams over
sharing moment right there, So sometimes he adds to the

(14:16):
scrutiny that's already sky high. I do I think he's
the most scrutinized NFL quarterback right now. I think it's
Caleb Williams. Here's the question I would ask, what other
quarterback has been scrutinized as heavily for something as dumb
as Caleb Williams. What quarterback has been scrutinized as much

(14:38):
for Caleb Williams missing a couple of throws into a
net and then being upset about it. Who's the guy?
It doesn't exist, right, He's not there in the NFL.
We aren't picking on another quarterback quite as much. I
is the most scrutinized guy. That'd be my argument for
Caleb Williams. If you disagree, if you've got somebody else
to add to the list, or you think somebody else

(15:00):
is the most scrutinized NFL quarterback, I'm all ears definitely
want to hear it. Feel free to check in Militia
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Here's your phone
number at the No Show is where you can find
me on X if you want to tweet up a storm.
Feel free to do so. I love hearing from the militia.
So whenever you get here, we'll roll out the red
carpet for you and we'll just chop it up. How's

(15:22):
that sound all right? Come it up next? You know,
I do love when DJ Khaled when he says another one,
it means like another hit song, it means something positive. Well,
there was another one in the sports world not as positive.
We'll get to that story coming up. I'm Brian though

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Man, when it comes to DJ Khaled, I just might
let it play, Lorena, You know what I mean? My god?
Another one? Yeah, DJ Khaled getting it in. I'm Brian
no In for Big Ben Malor here on Fox Sports Radio.
Uh let me see hey. By the way, For over
forty years, tire Rack has been helping customers find the

(16:46):
right tires for how, what and where they drive, ship
fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection with
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack dot
Com the way tire buying should be. Yeah. So I
mentioned DJ Khaled because he always says another one. Well,

(17:07):
we had another one in the w NBA on Tuesday.
There's another sex toy thrown on the court. Oh stop, yes,
another one, Lorena. I was actually watching this game. I
saw it live. I wasn't even betting it. I think
I have issues watching WNBA games that I'm not betting on.

Speaker 7 (17:28):
Now.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
I love watching this league. I love basketball.

Speaker 8 (17:31):
Well, now people are betting on the dildos, aren't they
There are? On how many? What color?

Speaker 3 (17:35):
The texture?

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
I didn't know you could bet on texture.

Speaker 8 (17:39):
I mean, if they aren't, they should.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Okay, yeah, but you're right, there were odds. I'm trying
to find what the odds were of it being neon green.
But uh, yeah, you could bet on the color of
the next sex toy that was going to be thrown
on the court of a WNBA game. Crazy. I think
it's the sign of the apocalypse, you know, But yeah,

(18:02):
neon green one, the neon green was the uh was
the choice right there? Or the winning uh the winning color.
I cannot find I'll try to find it. I cannot
find what the betting odds initially were. But yeah, so
this time it hit Sophie Cunningham.

Speaker 8 (18:22):
Oh no, where did it hit her at?

Speaker 3 (18:24):
I'm not sure, but there was a free throw attempt
and that's when Sophie Cunningham got hit with the sex toy.
And then immediately Kelsey Plumb of the Sparks just kicked
it out of bounds. It was on the court. She
kicked it out of bounds real fast, just like nothing
to see here, and Sophie Cunningham was laughing. She was laughing.
What I thought was kind of it was kind of cool.

(18:46):
Where That's what I really come out on this is Listen,
I think that you, I think that you run the
risk of losing your point when you overstate things, you
know what I mean. So, like with this, it's certainly
dangerous to throw a sex toy on the court. You

(19:07):
could hit a player. It literally hit Sophie Cunningham, could
hit her in the eyeball. It really could have messed
her up. So it is dangerous. But man, I'll hear
these people, yeah, well it could cause damage, right, it could.
But when I hear these people just hammer this point
home where it's like the utter disrespect for these athletes

(19:32):
and they could be seriously injured, and I'm just like,
you're kind of losing me. Man, You're just kind of
losing me because you're emphasizing something that doesn't really need
to be emphasized as much as you're doing it. You
know what I'm saying. I really think that you can
lose value in your point where you're just overstating things.

(19:53):
And that's what I've gotten, Like it's the third time
it's happened, some of the WNBA players have overstated things.
I gotta find One of the tweets recently from a
w NBA player. This was I think it was after
the second time it happened where a sex toy was
thrown onto the court and a w NBA player was

(20:13):
like security, Hello, where are you? What are you doing?

Speaker 8 (20:17):
It's just like now, you actually watch women's basketball, right,
I do you don't find it at all like offensive
or like they're making a mockery of women's sports.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
I mean you could look at it that way.

Speaker 8 (20:29):
Surely when it's so they've done this in the NFL,
think about the message it's sending, like f you, right.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
I think a lot of people twist it into something
like that this has happened in the NFL.

Speaker 6 (20:48):
Well, I can I can promise you. I can promise
you that it's not going to happen too many more
times after this.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Well, they arrested exactly, That's what I'm saying. And then
this one.

Speaker 6 (20:58):
I mean, you know they probably hit the right the
right player with it, Sophie Cunningham, because she's laughing about it.
But I mean I would assume that if they figure
out who threw this one, that she could press charges
since it hit her.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
I don't think she would. She would, and I think
that's sexual assault.

Speaker 8 (21:16):
Getting hit by a sex toy, right, Like.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
I'm sure, I'm sure it could be considered that way.
And the point is, if they figure out who's gonna
who threw this one, which I imagine they can because they
figured out who threw the first one, right, it's gonna
be an even harsher punishment. And then and then now,
if you want to continue the joke, you're gonna be
risking some you know, some serious consequences.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Yeah, the w n b A they put out a statement.
This was after the second one. The second one was thrown.
I'm just laughing because DJ Khaled popped into my head
with another one. That's the only reason why. But their
statement in part read objects there you go, There you go.
Thank you, Loraine. I appreciate that objects of any hind

(22:00):
thrown onto the court or in the seating area can
pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans.
Any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court
will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one year ban,
in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by
local authorities. That was part of the official statement by

(22:22):
the WNBA. It's didn't doab anyone from throwing the third
sex toy on the court on Tuesday night during that
Fever Sparks game. But yeah, hit. This is what's different
about it. It hits Sophie Cunningham. The other two times
it didn't hit anyone, just landed on the court, but
this time hitting a player. Yeah, we'll see. They didn't

(22:42):
find out who threw the first sex toy. They they
didn't figure that one out.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
The arrest was the second one.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, yeah, it was the second one. Yeah, yep, yeah,
it happened on Friday night.

Speaker 9 (22:54):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
The first two times it was a Golden State Valkyries
game each time. This time it's a Valkyries game. So
it's just I thought it was maybe a Valkyries type thing. No,
it's just a WNBA thing right now.

Speaker 8 (23:07):
Question, Yeah, where would you hide a dildo to get
it into an arena? Would you tape it to your
leg underneath your pants? Would you put it in your sweater?
I think the bag is too obvious. You can't put
it in a bag.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
No, you can't do that, obviously.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
The tape to the leg is the only option. If
you're a man.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
Well, I mean, well, I mean technically, that's a really
good idea.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Well you have to you'd have to do that, and
that's the legs.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Instead of three.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Right, well that's the thing though, This was I found
the tweet. This is from Liberty forward Isabelle Harrison. So
this is after the second sex toy was thrown on
the court on Friday night. Right, this was a Valkyri's
Chicago Sky game, and so afterward a Liberty player, right, like,
not involved in this game, but just saw this happen

(24:02):
and went to X and tweeted and caps Arena security hello,
and went on to write, please do better. It's not funny,
never was funny. Throwing anything on the court is so
dangerous now, She's right, But the thing is looking at
arena security like, yo, do your job. It's like, let's

(24:22):
walk through that. What do you want security to actually do?
Unless you are literally frisking people. This isn't gonna be
like a metal detector.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
This is a like a sex toy, rubber sex to off.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Not gonna be detected by So you're frisking people like
literally people would lose their minds if that was happening.
First off, And so unless you're able to find the
sex toy, that's trying to be smuggled into the game.
If it gets thrown from the crowd, it's getting onto
the court. There's nothing security can do at that point.

(25:00):
You're not gonna have security in jet packs court side
ready to sky into the air to intercept any sex
toy that's heading toward the court.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Like the need an iron dome.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
That's like they need like the uh the baseball nets
around the entire court to prevent sex toys from being there.
There's nothing you can do at that point unless you
catch them like smuggling it into the game. It's a
done deal. It's a rap. It's gonna get onto the
court if they throw it there. So I wouldn't look
sideways at security this. I think it's the common thing

(25:32):
to do. But if you stop and think about it,
what are they supposed to do. The only thing they
can really do is try to find someone sneaking it
into the game, or if someone does throw it onto
the court, once that person is found, get they get
hammered with all sorts of punishments, you know what I mean.
Where it's like, Okay, at this point, it's not even

(25:52):
worth doing it. But right now it's just the trend.
It's the stupid and I'm not downplaying it. It is dangerous,
but it's like this, you know, rebellious, the you know, hey,
check this out, man, bet On Neon Green. We're gonna
make a fortune. It's just the stupid thing to do.
And like this, I don't know that it's the sexist degrading.

(26:14):
This has happened in the NFL before.

Speaker 8 (26:16):
It happened in a Patriots pocket toys out on the field.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
They called it the buildo. Right, it was during a
Bills game, so we switched it to a buildo was
thrown onto the field, right, And I know they're wearing
shoulder pads and helmets and it's not I think it would.

Speaker 8 (26:32):
Be different if football was a mockery sport. But people
are still making fun of women's sports. So that's where
I'm like, that's where the mockery side of it comes in.
Football is real football, you know what I'm saying. People
respect it as real football, So even if you throw
a toy, it's not seen like that.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I think that's where I'm coming from.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
I completely disagree with you. I don't think and there's
no way to know this. This is my guest. These
yahoos and they're yahoos that are throwing sex toys under
the court of Wnba Games. I really doubt Lorena that
someone is in the crowd and it's like, this is
my chance to make a mockery of this female sport.

(27:13):
And and these these women, you know what I mean.
I don't think they're doing it for that purpose. I
think they're just like, hey, you check it out. Man,
I get it.

Speaker 8 (27:21):
Hear that Braid might not think that way, but there's
some real dingises out there man, especially oh there are
kind to make statements. And if you're not coming out
and saying yeah, it was me, then yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
I mean that's just my guess. I don't think this
is I'm gonna degrade these women. And I really don't
think that's it at all. I think it's just this dumb,
sophomoric prank of like, you know, it's becoming like when
they're posting, yeah, they're posting odds of the color of
the next sex toy, so it's become this trendy, stupid thing.

(27:54):
I really think that's all it is. I don't think it's,
you know, we're gonna make a mockery of women sports.
I just don't think that. I don't think that's the case,
but hey, there's no way to prove it. It's just
my opinion. I think you're saying that's what it is, though, Lorena, Right,
you think that's what it is.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
I think that definitely has something to play into it,
for sure.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
HM, and reasonable minds can disagree. I just don't think so.
But would it shock me if that's true. No, sadly
it wouldn't. I just don't think that's what's going on.
But in any event, we have our third sex toy
being thrown onto the court.

Speaker 8 (28:28):
I think we should make a game of it, like
bottle toss, you know, where you try to get it
to land up right, Mike, we do like a segment
in the middle of the game, right, like dildo Mania,
and everyone bring in a little dildo and in the
middle we just throw it and if the ones that
stand up straight, you get like free season passes or something.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
By the way, this is a stupid story that, but
it made me think of it what you said. Right there, Lorena.
We are on our way to a Megadeth concert in
the late nineties, my first real concert that I went to,
and we were driving in two cars and someone threw
like a big gulp out the window. I don't know
why we're young, someone stupid And I was in the

(29:05):
car trailing right like the first Oh no, the big gulp.
I don't know how fast we're going. We're going like
sixty seventy miles per hour. The big gulp landed upright
and just skid it on the road for I don't
know it, just skidding upright.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Talk about a trick shot.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
It was insanity. But I don't know that you could
do that with a you know, with one of the
dildos flying from the rafters at the next WNBA game.
I would be quite impressed if that's the case. I
don't think you can pull that one off. That's uh.
And I think I'll say my last comment on this
for now at least is it's hard to find the

(29:44):
middle ground, I think, because on one side it is dangerous.
I don't want to see any player official, anyone get
hurt by some stupid prank. You know, it's it's dumb.
I don't want to see that. But at the same time,
you can't help, but you know, like tap into it
a little bit. We're like, hey, what's the color of
the next one is the next one gonna land up?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Right? You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (30:05):
It's really hard to toe the lineup. This is dangerous.
But hey, what if this or that happens. It's just
a weird thing that's going on right now in the WNBA.
In any event, let me get to the phones here.
We're talking quarterbacks to start the show. Is he there still?

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Coop?

Speaker 9 (30:23):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Andrew just left. He was there to talk quarterbacks, and
he was like, this is sex toy. This is a
sex toy segment. I'm not going to get in with quarterbacks.
Probably what he thought. Little did he know. We can
bring it right back to football at any time. My
guy Andre is in Massachusetts. I think that's the right
way to say it. I don't know if he yelled

(30:44):
at me last time, if I said it wrong Andre.
In any event, what's going on, Bud?

Speaker 9 (30:49):
Hey doing? Thanks for taking a call. Just wanted to
chime in in terms of the speculation and some of
the dare I say criticisms related to Caleb Williams. You know,
he hasn't shown competence, hasn't shown the aptitude because he
missed a couple of throws in training camp. Well, first
of all, This was the unanimous number one overall pick

(31:10):
just a year ago coming out of USC playing, you know,
in that system, with all the highlights and all the potential.
Now he is, how do we say, someone that walks
to the beat of his own drum right in terms
of his styles, in terms of his painted fingernails and
all the other stuff, so that he's eccentric to a
certain extent. But in terms of core talent, frankly, who

(31:31):
stares if you missed a couple of throws in the preseason.
He has the skill set. It's just a matter of
if he puts it together with this head coach that
he has. So you're talking about other players who have
kind of have the core talent but have faced, you know,
this level of criticism for me. I think about some
of the players in his own draft class, Jade Daniels,
who frankly usurped him. I think there's a lot of

(31:51):
pressure on him. People are saying that he's the top
ten quarterback in the league. That's kind of raised some
obum eyebrows. Has he really earned that? So for him
to continue to take a step forward in year two,
Drake may here in the Commonwealth, I think he needs
to show well this year with Mike Brabel and a
coach that can establish the system so the Patriots and
start trending in the right direction. So I think that
the younger quarterback there is, Caleb Williams, is certainly getting

(32:13):
the line share of the criticism, if you will, But
I think his draft last there is pressure for all
three of them to either step forward. That's Drake may
to continue their progress. I think that's Jade Daniels and
for Caleb Williams, if he has another bad year with
this new coach, this new system, all these weapons, then
I would accept some of these criticisms. But a couple

(32:34):
throws in the in the preseason, I think that's a
bit overstated for him. I think we need to wait
for the regular season where their games count, and to
see if he can see if he can show well.
I think that's my view on that.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Thanks taking Nicole, Yeah you got it, Andre, Thank you, man.
I agree with the decent amount of that. I just think, look, man,
Jayden Daniels was unbelievable last season. He was awesome, And
I will say there's a little a little bit of scrutiny.
I hear this quite a bit of hey, c J.

(33:07):
Stroud took a big step back his second season, maybe
we see the same thing with Jayden Daniels. Right, It's
almost like, you know, predicting upcoming scrutiny, that type of thing.
If that does happen, then oh man, we're going to
jump all over him, that type of thing. But he
wasn't scrutinized at all because he was awesome last season.
Jayden Daniels was unbelievable as rookie season. And I don't

(33:30):
buy this idea of, oh, he's going to take a
step back because CJ. Stroud did. They're totally different players,
completely different styles. Jayden Daniels rushed for almost nine hundred
yards last season. They have different supporting casts. I just
I don't think just because c J. Stroud took a
step back his second year, Jayden Daniels is going to
do the same thing. I don't buy that at all.

(33:53):
But I think the draft class is interesting. It just
shows you how much more Caleb Williams is scrutinized than
those other guys. Jaydeon Daniels really not scrutinized at least
his rookie season. Drake May he didn't face any crazy scrutiny.
We're not breaking down his training camp videos or if

(34:13):
he missed a throw or a practice net or you
know what I mean, Like, we're not doing that with
Drake May. We're doing that with Caleb Williams. Because Caleb
Williams was a big deal in college. Everybody has an
opinion on the guy and it just hasn't slowed down.
And so I think that he's not only the most
scrutinized quarterback in his draft class, I think is the
most scrutinized quarterback in the NFL right now. I don't

(34:35):
think there's another guy that scrutinized more heavily than Caleb Williams.
We've got Andre Andrew he checked back here. We appreciate that.
What's going on, Andrew?

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (34:46):
What's up? Brian Hey, Bud Hey. First of all, I
wanted to say rookie Betts did great tonight. That's for Bend.
And then I have two quarterbacks, maybe Anton Richardson and maybe.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Fields uh yeah, more scrutinized. Well, I mean both are terrible.
That's one thing. Like there's Anthony Richardson is freaking brutal,
and uh justin field isn't much better, So I think
they've earned the scrutiny. But I'll just say this, this
is the way I would break it down, Andrew. If

(35:26):
Caleb Williams struggled on the same level as either of
those guys, he would be way more scrutinized than Justin
Fields and Anthony Richardson are that That's how I see it, right,
and so that's why I still think he's He's more
scrutinized than both of those dudes.

Speaker 10 (35:43):
Yeah, because of the expectation.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yeah, a lot of it is that number one overall
pick expectations, all that stuff. But yeah, thank you, there
he is, Andrew. Good stuff, nice all right, Militia. Good
start love hearing from you guys. Feel free to chime
in as much as you would like. You know, the
lines are open for a sex toy talk as well.
You know, we don't we don't weed those callers out

(36:11):
as long as it's not you know, ridiculous. Can you
imagine if if one of the people you're like, you're
not gonna believe this, I was the guy who threw
the first sex toy on the court, Right, We're gonna
get a call maybe, Right, what's your name, man, Like,
what what do you give us some detail? I I
can't you give you too much here, but you know.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Those voice like modulators, now that would be funny.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
We need some facts, we need to verify this, you know,
I'm just thinking into the arena. I taped leg Gonna
get the whole thing all right? Coming up next? To
play or not to play? That's the question. I'm Brian
though in for Big Ben Mallard, keep locked right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
I'm probably no in for Big Ben Maller here on
Fox Sports Radio, Good News, Coop and Lorena. I think
I might hear Oreo, the neighborhood cat, meowing outside. I
think she might went in. Make this militia party over
it here. Yeah, Oreo was awesome, visited a little bit earlier,

(37:28):
you know, got some wet food, and then took off
and left. She might be back, might be back. I'll
check in a couple of minutes. A couple of tweets here,
I thought we're entertaining. So Robbie the Mariner fan, I'm
guessing not a huge fan of the sex toy breakdown
in the WNBA. I love this topic. I think it's great.

(37:50):
But Robbie the Mariner fan put if only Ben knew
what was happening on his show right now. A couple
other tweets on this whole thing, Big Grand in Iowa,
I think Sophie was kind of targeted. Totally disagree, completely disagree.
If you can throw a sex toy, I don't know
how far back that that person was sitting and like

(38:14):
pinpoint Sophie Cunningham during a free throw while she's like
shoulder to shoulder with other players. You could like pinpoint
and be like all right, all right, locked in, got
her like red laser beam going no way, no chance
can you. You're just aiming for the court and where
it lands, it lands. This idea that Sophie was targeted,

(38:35):
I do not buy that at all. Dan checked in
and uh just simply put WNBA dildo throwers gone wild.
Sure Mallard prop He checked in and wrote regarding the
objects thrown onto WNBA courts lately, if the league began
frisking all game attendees, what are the Ben Maller odds

(38:57):
that attendants at those games by members of the Mallard
militia would actually significantly increase. It's a legitimate question, right
there might absolutely pay off for them with the militia
attending more games. I like this from barbecuing len NERF
Dill dos safe and fun for everyone. That was a
good one, and Benito wrote he checked in talk about

(39:21):
how Jerry Jones is a joke owner. So okay, it's
an assistant program director checking in, no problem. Appreciate that.
I'll get to that here momentarily with Jerry Jones and
his foolishness continuing and all that type of stuff. But yeah,
it's funny, right, Like, here's the thing. If you just

(39:41):
look at the ratings and sports Okay, you look at
the NFL is crushing the ratings, and what do you see?
What do you hear? A lot of NFL coverage. That's
the way it goes, right And in sports radio, Like
what I just I threw out NFL quarterbacks, Okay, who's

(40:02):
the most scrutinized. It's hardly any interaction, a little bit,
hardly any. Then I throw out the WNBA sex toy thing.
Lots of interaction. So so what do you think is
gonna be focused on a little bit more right here.
We're here to have a conversation and it's just an
off the wall story. Man, It's completely off the wall,

(40:25):
and people have opinions about it, and so I don't
think you know it's funny. I'll say this real quickly.
We get to this month of the sports calendar, and
without fail, almost anything that you mentioned someone will be
like slow news day, huh not really like not really
when it comes to this, are you kidding me? How
many boxes the WNBA sex toy thing checks? Sports Radio

(40:49):
Gold all right, coming up next, QB's in the news.
