Speaker 2 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Oh what is going on? Everybody?
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Welcome in Happy What Tuesday night on the West coast.
We're Wednesday morning here on the East coast here, so
we got all kinds of stuff going on. It's funny,
like right before the show, Lorena was like, what are
you doing with Oreo?
Speaker 5 (00:49):
You know?
Speaker 4 (00:49):
And I was like, well, I'm not in Vegas anymore.
I moved from Vegas. So for those that don't know,
there was a neighborhood cat named Oreo. We named a
Morio me and my girlfriend and you know, Oreo is
this amazing black cat. Awesome and had to leave Oreo.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
I did, like, I'm gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Get the sports in a second, but just a brief
update on life things right here right like, loved Oreo
to death. I met the owners I met the the
the girl that's the owner of Oreo. Crazy story with him, right,
So I talked to this girl and she's like, yeah,
I met him. I found him at a casino or
(01:32):
Oreo's this hardcore gambler, a casino cat, I guess.
Speaker 6 (01:36):
So, yeah, probably has a smoking problem too.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Maybe, But this is funny you said that, Lorena. Apparently
this girl said his whiskers were like burned, like he
had a bad owner or something. I don't know what happened,
but she found him in a tree, just meowing, and
she's decided to keep this cat. A couple of years ago,
she said, Oreo's only like three years old. And they
have another name for Oreo. I forget what they call him,
(02:01):
not anything nearly as cool as Oreo.
Speaker 7 (02:03):
But that means he really has that like wild soul.
That's why you can't hold him down.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
He's got to be free, Lorena. He's got to roam
the streets, you know what I mean. He's like an outdoor.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Slashing door cat. Yeah, he's crazy like that.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
So I could tell talking to this girl that that
she loves Oreo, you know, and you have to respect that.
I wanted to keep Oreo.
Speaker 6 (02:23):
So you were actually like putting out your bid.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Like ken, oh I was going to yeah, and I
could tell like there was no there was no need
to even request this.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It was going to get denied immediately.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
No, you can't have my casino cat.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
She's like, oh, we love him, he's our baby. And
I'm like, okay, that's a wrap. You know, I know
where this is going.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
So so to steal the cat.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yeah, but I got a bunch of information about Oreo,
the whole thing, right, So I didn't end up keeping
Oreo because you got to respect that he's got owners. Yeah,
he's got a home. I can't kidnap, kidnap Oreo. So
left Vegas. So I'm just than Indiana for the holidays,
visiting home for the holidays, and then I'm on the
move again. I don't know where I'm going. Los Angeles
(03:07):
could be, who knows. I'm looking into get this, you'll
never see this curveball coming. I'm looking into physical therapy school,
possibly in North Carolina. I won't bore you with all
the details. It's a whole thing and it's obnoxious. But
the other the other thing that Lorena said right before
the show, She's like, I don't know how you said it, Lorena,
(03:29):
but you're like, oh, you're not in Vegas, Like where
are you and your girl? I'm like, well, we broke up.
There's no me and my girl anymore, like you know, unfortunately. Yeah,
hey it happens like.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
That has been happening in your life.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
No, all kinds of stuff. But you know, she put
up with me for like three almost four years. We
were together for a long time, and things are mostly cool. Yeah,
things are mostly cool for the you know, for the
general part. But we ended it about as well as
you can and then she got mad at me.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
It's funny.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
It's such a stupid so I didn't believe. I'm sorry
I'm starting off the show like this. I have dk
metcalf thoughts. You're probably way more interested in those than this.
But it was kind of funny because we ended on
the best terms possible, Lorraina, Like seriously, it was like
the best way if there is a way to break up,
you know, like the most mature adult way.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
And then what is relationship night on the show.
Speaker 7 (04:27):
So it's good that you couldn't just walk away and
ghost her, right or vice versa.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Right?
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, So we ended up. We ended in great fashion.
You know, it's very very sad, but as best as
you can. And then you know, she went back home.
She's from Mexico City, so she went home, wanted to
be with her family, the whole thing, which totally understandable.
And then I was in Vegas for it's probably like
(04:54):
another month after she had left single. Yes, yeah, causing
a ruckus basically is what I was doing, LORAINI but uh,
I went to a show at the Sphere. This is
how crazy it got, oz No. I went to a
Zach Brown band concert, which you know me, I'm a
(05:15):
metal guy, but I'm a colectic, all right, I'm a colectic, Lorraina,
more than my reputation precedes me. I love me some
random genres over here, tool excluded, of course. But I
went to the Zach Brown concert and it was funny.
I was gonna go in the general admission section because
that's the metal fan in me, that's all I know.
I know, general admission, I can roam wherever I want
(05:38):
to roam.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
The standing area, right.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah, like seats, I'm like seats, what It's just foreign
to me, you know. So there were these general admission
sections very close, and I messaged her and I'm like,
I'm thinking about doing this, and she's like, no, she
had been there. Don't do that. You're gonna be so close.
You're gonna break your neck looking youna be looking up
(06:00):
skyward the whole time. You don't want to do that,
like sit higher up. And I'm like, all right, cool.
So I sat a little bit higher up. Apparently not
high enough. I sat in like the one hundred section.
I sit down, there's a balcony above me, you know,
like I can only see half of the Sphere's screen.
And so I'm messaging her and you know how stuff
(06:22):
on text might not translate, you know, And I'm just
like I'm just like you, you know, like I'm just
joking around, like like there's a section I was gonna
be in.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Here's the section I'm in that. No, I wasn't like
that at all, Coop. I was just kidding around.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
I'm like, it's kind of funny, really, Like I get
they put Zach Brown on the screen. I can see
like his lower torso like I can't see his face
like nothing, And I'm just like, you told me to
sit higher up. And it turns into this thing out
of nowhere, which she's like, I told you to sit
at the top, and I'm like, you didn't, you just
(07:00):
said higher up.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
She's like, well you should have known what I meant.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
How he would I was, I supposed to know what
you meant. And it turns into this obnoxious thing out
of nowhere, and now she's just miffed at me. It's
mad and acting weird and things are off and it's
just so stupid. I sent her a couple of messages
today like yo, like, what's the deal man? What are
we doing here? But anyway, we added things great and
(07:24):
now things suck. Welcome by life. It's basically what's happening
right here.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
But I love that story.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
That was great.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
You think i'd be a good physical therapist, Lena, What
do you think about that?
Speaker 6 (07:34):
And you're so caring, you're so thoughtful. Well, you're knowledgeable
and like sports and stuff. You got to be knowledgeable, right, Yes.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
It's a whole thing.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
You got prerequisite scalore. You got to take chemistry and
like statistics and biology to.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
Be a scientist of the body.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
So man, it's a it's a long haul right there.
So I don't know. I don't know I'll keep you
updated on that.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
I got as a lot of time to do it
as well.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I know that's the thing.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
I'm working Saturdays and Sundays, and you know, fill in's
here and there. But it's like, if I knew I
was gonna take this long to find another local gig,
I worked in Portland years ago, i'd be almost done
with physical therapy school by now. I didn't know it
was gonna work like this. It's up to these pds
over here with the program directors are jackasses.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
What's going on over here? Lorrain? It's crazy, all right.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
So I'm sorry I've wasted almost this entire first segment
talking about random things.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I apologize, but a lot to get to tonight.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Look, I will I'll dive knee deep into my DK
Metcalf thoughts here. I'll just give you the cliffs notes
version right now. Okay, So DK Metcalf, the Steelers wide receiver.
His suspension was upheld. He's gonna be suspended for two
games and he's gonna miss the final two regular season
games for the Steelers. They need one win in these
(08:52):
final two games to clinch the division and to get
a playoff spot, so they take on. The Steelers and
the Ravens are their final two games, and so having
DK Metcalf in uniform for either of those two games
would help a lot. It's been a house of horrors
for the Steelers at Cleveland, if you can believe that,
they've lost many, many, many many times in Cleveland, and
(09:17):
so to not have their top receiver hurts. If they
don't beat Cleveland this weekend, then they host the Steelers
for the division. Obviously, Pittsburgh doesn't want it, doesn't want
it to come down to that, but that's the scenario.
So DK he now loses five hundred and fifty five
thousand dollars for missing these final two games. That's what
(09:39):
he's docked in salary. And also his guaranteed money is voided.
The forty five million dollars in guaranteed money that he
had on his contract is voided. And so that throws
a wrench into things that the Steelers think about moving
in a different direction now that the guarantees are voided.
I mean, he's still been a really good receiver for them,
so that might not change anything. What really what's funny
(10:01):
to me? First off, before I get into the you know,
the knee deep part of this. We throw around these
crazy figures with millions of dollars. Well, I don't know
about you, but it's like white noise to me. If
they're just like, ah, this quarterback signs a two hundred
and fifty five million dollar contract, it's just like map,
it's just these numbers.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
It's it's just the going rate.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
You know, when it really sinks in how much money
we're talking about is a game check? You know, two
game checks for DK Metcalf, it's slightly over five hundred
and fifty five thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
And again, that's the going rate.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
If you can do what DK Metcalf can do on
a football field, you will make the same money. It
generates all of this interest, the league generates all this money.
That's the going rate. I have no issue whatsoever with
what players make. But it just hits home where it's
like five hundred and fifty five k He's just lost
(11:02):
that money because of two game checks.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
That's unbelievable to me.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
I don't know if you guys are the same way,
but when it breaks down to a per game basis,
I'm like, show, hey, Otani misses out on how much
money for missing this Friday game.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Holy hell, No.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
It's unbelievable how much this money equates to on a
game by game basis. But the real part of this
whole thing with DK is, look, I'm gonna be as
honest with you as possible. We start with the central truth, okay,
And no matter where the conversation goes from this point on,
the central truth is DK metcalf can't do what he did.
(11:43):
That is the central truth. You can't lose sight of
that central truth. And with this Yahoo whatever he had
to say, what's this jackass? His name Ryan Kennedy. It's
funny some of the things that he's talking about. Of course,
the allegation that he called DK the N word, called
DK's mom the C word, totally false, like, completely fabricated.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
What do you think he was saying?
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Really do you think he was like, hey, DK, Merry Christmas,
and DK just wanted to punch this guy's lights out.
Of course, he was saying some wild stuff and he's
turned into you know this latter day saying like me slur,
what does slur even mean? I don't even know what slur?
Come on, man, Like, he probably said some crazy wild
(12:33):
stuff and this is the part where we start to
maybe get away from the central truth. Central truth. DK
Metcalf can't do what he did. But with this guy,
I think it's really easy to sit from your your
couch and say what I'm saying. DK can't do that.
What's tough is being in those shoes and hearing whatever
(12:58):
this Yahoo fan had to say. And you've got to
be professional. You've got to keep your cool, you can't overreact.
It is really really difficult to do that. And DK
messed up. It sucks because look at what it's cost him.
It's cost him five hundred and fifty five thousand dollars
(13:18):
for two game checks. His guaranteed money is voided. He
suspended for the final two games of the season. How
is he winning?
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Like? What did he gain?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Where's the win here? It's just l's all across the board,
l l L l l l L. I'll tell you
what if I put myself in those shoes, and let's
just say this Yahoo fan said that DK's mom is
the C word. Like if I'm in DK shoes, I'm
the NFL wide receiver, like suspend you know reality for
a second, I'm in DK shoes and this fan says
(13:51):
that my mom is a C word. I'd want to
kill him in that moment. Best believe I would want
to kill him. And it's easier said than done to
not overreact, to not do what DK did. There are
plenty of people saying DK can't do that, DK shouldn't
do that. DK is wrong for doing that, but they
(14:13):
would have done the same thing or worse in those
same shoes, maybe me being one of those people.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
If I'm on a team, I'm a professional, I know
I can't do that, but not being able to do it,
can't doing it and not doing it, those are different
things right there. The movie The Taking of Pelham one
two three, it's a random movie choice by me, but
it comes into my mind very good, underrated movie by
(14:42):
the way, very overlooked. It's what Denzel Washington, John Travolta
is in that thing. But there's a scene with John
Tuturo and I'll I won't bore you with the whole setup.
But at one point he says in the movie, you've
entered his world, now exit it. And that was the
first mistake that DK made. He entered the fans world
(15:05):
by walking over there. That was the first mistake. He
should have exited that world, but he was there. The
fans said whatever he had to say. DK in that
moment reacted the way that he did, and now he
suspended for the final two games, docked all this money
in salary game checks these final two games, his guaranteed money.
(15:28):
Just can't do it, man, not in a team sport.
That's the other thing. It's one thing if you know,
DK is a tennis player and he does this, and
they deal with him somehow someway. He's a member of
a team. He's hurting the team by doing that. And
I hate the Yahoo fan didn't even get kicked out
of the game. That's the crazy thing. It's like some
(15:50):
of the things that these players here. I never subscribed
to this thought of, hey, I bought my ticket, so
what now I have free reign can just be the
biggest a hole on the planet. And it's okay because
I spent whatever it was. I spent two hundred and
fifty bucks to sit close and now I'm just going
to be a wrectum the whole game. That's not good enough, man,
(16:12):
Like the standards have to be way better. I'll tell
you a brief story and we'll continue this as the
night goes on. Plenty other things to talk about, but
this is, you know, hot on my mind here. The
suspension's been upheld, DK suspended for the final two games
of the season five fee. So we go back to
the year two thousand and five. Okay, So I was.
(16:32):
I was doing the Notre Dame football pre game show.
And what was really really cool about that I could
go to the games and I could go down to
the field for the final five minutes of the game.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
It was awesome.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
So I was there for the Bush push game, the
famous game USC beats Notre Dame at Notre Dame, obviously,
and I was on the field for the final five
minutes of that game. So the game ends, USC wins,
Reggie Bush pushes into the end zone Trojan's win. I
was on the field just rumming around, you know, And
(17:06):
then I saw Reggie Bush and Lendale White, and for
whatever reason, I was just walking behind them as they
were walking off the field. They're just walking into the
tunnel leaving the stadium, and the things that were being yelled,
I don't not just at them, but just at USC
in general. It wasn't racial that I heard it wasn't
(17:30):
like that, but it was you F and b mother
f for as you f.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Yeah, I'm just like, holy cow, what really took me? Aback?
Speaker 4 (17:40):
I'm watching Reggie Bush and Lendale White just walk off
the field, not engaging with these ridiculous fans, not yelling
at them, total pros, as if they didn't even hear anything.
And I remember walking behind these guys and just being
so impressed with how they handled that, and I didn't
(18:02):
want to bother that. I guess I should have gone
up to them been like, hey, man, props to you guys.
That was amazing.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
I felt like I should apologize on behalf of those fans.
I'm from South Bend, I love Notre Dame football. I
felt like I owed them an apology just based on
how these idiots were acting, Like no one should hear
that stuff, but it's so common, unfortunately, you know that
like the f US, that's just like baseline, It just
(18:29):
comes with the territory.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
It's like a shoulder shrug. It shouldn't be, but that's
how it is.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
But when it escalates to what DK Metcalf might have
heard and what that fan might have said allegedly calling
DK the N word, his mom the C word. It's like,
how is that acceptable on any level? That fan has
got to be out of there immediately. That is so unacceptable.
(18:56):
And I'm telling you what, man, these leagues got to
do a much better job of protecting their players because
they're putting these players in a position where it's like,
if you're not gonna police this stuff, you're kind of
indirectly asking me to do that. You got to take
care of this, so it's not on me to do
something about it. And so I see a lot of
sides to this, but again we get back to the
(19:20):
central truth. DK Metcalf can't react that way and cannot
do what he did. And for anyone who's like, well
why not, you know as well as I do. The
NFL can't have that. No sports league can have that.
You can't have a situation where a player either goes
into the stands, approaches the stans, engages with the fan,
(19:42):
throws a punch at a fen. You cannot have that,
because really, what's your sales pitch as a league. Your
sales pitch is like, hey, come on out and see
the games, but act right or else you're gonna get
your ass kicked like that. That's not a sales pitch
at all. You can't have that as a league. So
of course they're gonna suspend DK. They have no choice
(20:03):
but to suspend him. He's lucky that there were at
least two regular season games left and they could say,
all right, it's more than just one game. We'll call
it good as far as that goes. If this is
the final regular season game, that that's not enough. Is
he docked a playoff game as well? Who knows, who
knows where it goes. But it's a bad situation for him,
(20:26):
it's a bad situation for the Steelers, and unfortunately, this
idiot fan he gets this fifteen minutes of fame for
allegedly saying what he said.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I hate it.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
I wish you could kick that guy's ass. I wish
it was fine to do that, but you can't. And
DK is gonna be on the wrong end of that
whole situation. Your thoughts feel free to check in eight
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox. You gotta be
a pro, and you can't engage. You can't you can't
stoop to a lower level man. And I hate that.
(20:57):
I hate that. I've seen many instants. Is where man,
so many fans deserved to just be ah yeah exactly,
just knocked out cold for some of the things that
they're saying meant. The other thing I don't understand is
I come back to this last thing. I'll say real fast,
(21:19):
as I'm just blowing up the clock, I am not.
I'm not like Simpatico with a clock integrity right now
as I talked about my life for nine minutes.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
I'm sorry about that. I apologize.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
This is what blows my mind, like we just look
at it one way where it's like this stupid fan
Dk Metcalf, he did what he did in the ramifications,
What should what shouldn't have happened?
Speaker 3 (21:43):
YadA, YadA.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
What I can't get beyond is some fan next to
that Yahoo fan heard what the Yahoo fan had to say.
How do these fans sitting nearby just accept that If
I heard, and I don't know if this was what
was said, but let's just say it was. If I
(22:05):
heard a fan called DK Metcalf the N word and
his mom the C word, I would.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Have been like, Dk, don't worry about it.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
I got this bad like that guy would have been
heave hoed onto the field. I don't understand these fans
sitting around like they're just like, hey, they just let
it happen.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
How do you let that happen?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
You're an equal like Unfortunately, DK is not an equal
of the fan.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
He's a player.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
He's going to get dealt with a lot more severely
if he engages with the fan and throws a punch
at the fan compared to fan on fan violence. Now,
I can't say I could just like deck this guy
and throw them on the field and it's all good.
Like there'd be lawsuits, there'd be all kinds of stuff.
I realized that. But how do you just sit there
and do nothing? How That's what blows my mind the most.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
That is the mentality of people today.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Brian.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
You said, we stand there, we take our phones out
and we record it. We don't get involved because if
you get involved, you also get kicked out.
Speaker 6 (23:06):
You would also receive those repercussions.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
No, you're right, And that's the bad thing about it,
is it?
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Man?
Speaker 3 (23:14):
I love the movie Training Day.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Love the movie Training Day with Denzel And if you
ever watch you ever watch like the director's cut or
whether it's commentary on a movie, it used to be
able to buy.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I haven't bought a DVD in fren.
Speaker 6 (23:27):
I've ever seen a movie like that.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Oh you gotta do it like that.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
When Antoine Fuqua when he was doing the he was
talking over the movie, so many great stories, so many
things about the movie was tremends.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
It was awesome, it was great. But it was one
of the things.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
I think it's when Jake goes to confront Denzel and
the neighborhood basically has Jake's back, right, and it was
somewhere along that line that time, and now I think
it was when Jake he went to go confront Denzel
in that whole scene, but he quoted it was a
(24:05):
famous quote, and Antoine said, that's like at the heart
of the movie, where it's the world is in evil place,
not just because of the evil, evil people in it,
but because of the people who do nothing about it.
And that's like the theme of the whole movie, like
what are you gonna do about this? And that's it's
your right, Lorraine. It's like, Oh, I'm gonna take off
(24:26):
my phone, I'm gonna post this on X and that's it.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
That's all you're gonna do.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
I'm gonna go viral for this.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
Viral because I'm like selfieing me kicking this guy's ass
because he deserves it, Like you can't. I would never
allow something like that happen. I don't care if I
get kicked. I don't care if I get dealt with.
I don't care in that moment. This is what needs
to happen. And sorry, judge, Like, I think I'm in
the right to some degree for doing this, but uh yeah.
(24:53):
That's the other thing is the fans who just kind
of sit there and like, whoa, Wow, that guy's kind
of crazy. That's all you did. You just I thought
he was kind of crazy, and you just let things happen.
He's there the rest of the game like he deserves
to be there.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Oh my gosh. I just don't get that at all.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
I feel free to check in eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
That is your number.
Speaker 8 (25:14):
Man.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
We got lots to get to. I'll tell you what
a lot of sports thoughts. I want to talk about
ac DC hoodie girl. Though I went Christmas shopping on Tuesday.
It's a one day event. I got everything done, just
knocked it right out. But outside of all these sports
thoughts with Oh, I got a doozy for you. I
don't know if you're going to agree with this a
(25:34):
sports take of mine, but I think there is an
accomplishment that's even tougher than winning a super Bowl in
the NFL. I'll get to that momentarily as well. But
ACDC hoodie girl, Man, if there's a tease that keeps
you tuned in, I think we've reached the peak level
right here with ac DC hoodie Girl. I can't believe
what this girl said while wearing an ac DC hoodie
(25:56):
today while he's doing my Christmas shopping. So I'll share
that with you next. Feel free to check in roll
the red carpet out for you. Melar Militia. Great to
be in with you keep it locked right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on

Speaker 3 (26:17):

Speaker 9 (26:20):
As everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award winning
Polly and Tony Foodsco Show. Yeah, but instead of us
telling you how great we are, Here's how Dan Patrick
described us when he came on our show.
Speaker 10 (26:29):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
What are you doing interrupting our promo?
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. You took those clips
totally out of context.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
Oh yeah, well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
Let me put this into context.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Shut up.
Speaker 9 (26:47):
Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Paully and Tony Fosco
Show on iHeartRadio Apple podcasts for wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Yea, it is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
I'm Brian though in for Big Ben Meller. For over
four forty years, tirek has been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive, Shipped
fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection with
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tirerack dot Com.
The way tire buying.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Should be all right.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
We will get to the militia here momentarily. But I
could not believe what happened with ac DC hoodie girl today.
This was a first for me. So I was doing
my Christmas shopping. I love ac DC. By the way, you, Loraina,
are you an ACDC fan?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (27:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (27:32):
I remember them from my childhood.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Remember remember them from your childhood?
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Yeah, would be driving and my mom's transam and she
would have it on.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
That's so, that's.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
The last time you like hung out with ac DC
hu in your life.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
It's been a minute.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Okay, it's been a minute. Coop you thumbs up thumbs
down on ac DC. How do you feel about them?
Speaker 7 (27:53):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (27:54):
I respect the uh impact or you know, but I
just think that too many of the songs sound exactly
the same.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Wow. And you're a tool fan, that's all right?
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Uh yeah, all right. Well I didn't realize you guys
are gonna be this down on a legendary band like
ac DC. That's fine, whatever, you know, different strokes for
different folks, I guess. But this girl at this I
bought a sweater from my sister and I was at
the store and the girl was just wearing an ac
DC hoodie and so she's ringing up the order and
(28:32):
I was just curious. I'm like, hey, what's your favorite
ACDC song? This wasn't a pop quiz, It's not like
it gotcha most anything. Like, I'm just curious, just curious. Lorena,
she hits me with this something along the lines of
you know, do I know the lyrics to all of
ac DC songs? Yes? But do I know the name
(28:55):
of ACDC songs? No? Do I even know if an
A the CDC song is playing?
Speaker 3 (29:01):
No, it's just like what you know?
Speaker 8 (29:07):
That's I feel like, and I don't want to be.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
All right, say it, get there, go there. I'm sure.
Speaker 8 (29:16):
Look, I don't want to say a blanket statement, but
I just feel like that is more common with women.
Uh my wife, like Love's Fleetwood Mac could sing the songs, right,
I guarantee you she couldn't name a song.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Wow, interesting, like that's.
Speaker 8 (29:35):
A song title. Like you know, if I could say,
you know, start singing Fleetwood Mac, she'll sing different songs.
But I've said, you know what the name of that
song is, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Right.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
It's weird because like how music has evolved. I could
tell you, like when I was growing up, if I
had a CD and you I don't know, you have
like the booklet the back of the CD you see
the songs in order. I could tell if we were
going through Metallica albums.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
You know what I mean, what the track number is?
Speaker 10 (30:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (30:04):
You're like, what was the sixth track on the Black album,
it's like, oh, okay, no problem, you know.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Boom boom boo boom.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
But now that it's different and it's I just get
these albums on like Spotify or what. I don't have
anything memorized. So yeah, it's a great point.
Speaker 8 (30:18):
My wife is seven years younger than me, you know,
pretty much grew up in the era of digital music, right.
Speaker 7 (30:25):
See, I think it's opposite because I have to remember
the songs or I can't look them up on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Well that's the thing though, too, is I think there's
a difference if you're rocking the gear of the band,
you know what I mean, right.
Speaker 7 (30:37):
You can't be a poser, right right, It's like you're
carrying a skateboard. Okay when we want to go ride. Actually,
I don't know how to get on this thing.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Right exactly. That was the thing. That's what I thought
immediately when I was leaving and she was like, have
a good day.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
I was like, you two poser, you know, like you
got a can't name a song, like, you're rocking the gear.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
What are we doing here? Let's get to the DK calls.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
A lot people want to check in on DK metcalf,
the drama that is going on. He's been suspended for
the final two games of the season. That suspension was
upheld by the NFL today. So there's the new news,
if you will. Let's get to let me go to
Nick up first in Berkeley as a thought on this.
It's going on, Nick, You're on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
And then, first of all, I saw ACDC nineteen eighty
two of the cal Palace Man. You know, for those
about the rock tours, So I mean like the albums
and the song have have to say that. You know,
they have songs that that match the album, so it's
kind of easy to remember at least one song. So
you know, maybe she was having a rough morning remembering
who she was. But let me tell you, man, it
(31:43):
was very strange to see the way that all went down.
Speaker 11 (31:46):
There was not a.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
Security guard on the field. Yeah, the netcap like like
watching the cloud from the field, and they also talk
to people when the stands watching the stands, you know
what I'm saying. And then the UL security guards watched
the Bold security guards that are watching the stands. I
don't understand how they escalated to that point, and I
don't understand how they got wasn't kicked out before he
even got to that point, because if you tried that
at Levi Stadium, you don't have about twenty cops on
(32:08):
you that quick. It's not like it's like they're all
over the place. They can just pop out of nowhere,
you know what I mean. You can't be acting stupid.
And why would you go to a football games and
shotam cinities and a football player's mom. Dude? Was wrong
with you?
Speaker 8 (32:20):
Bro?
Speaker 5 (32:20):
These little kids standing around, Like if my daughters hadn't
listening to all that. Now I'm we're fighting, bro, I'm
just tackling him. Who I wasn't going down. Bro, You're
not going to be sitting there cursing in front of
my daughter and like just insulting people's moms. It's not cool, man,
It's ridiculous. It's a setup, really, Like where it rose
security and then they they take away his forty million
dollar bonus. I'm like, that's the setup to me, man.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Yeah, well, I appreciate you checking in, Nick, and I'm
with you as far as where is security? Because that's
the thing is, like you got to protect these players,
and you know, you can't just have fans allegedly yelling
what that guy did? You know, and some fans do
yell those things like that's a thing, and you can't
have players having to deal with that on their own.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
It can't be.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
But again, we're not saying, don't put words in my mouth.
You know anybody listening where, And I'm saying, and DK
was right for doing what he did. No, he's he's
wrong for doing what he did. I know it's very
hard not to do what he did, but he's still
wrong for doing that.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
The central truth is.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
I've never hit I've never hit anyone.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Oh, you're missing out on life here, Lorena. You should
hit someone tonight. Go out, go out on what's close
to you, Ventura Boulevard, close to me. No. Well, we
got to get to Koop's actions during the Broncos loss a.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Little bit later in the show, but.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
I can't say he deserves to get punched in the face,
you know, maybe like the left arm, maybe the left arm.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
You feel like she's done that before.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Probably I'd imagine that probably has happened. Let me get
one more in here. We got Gabriel in Sue Falls.
Let's get Sue falls in the chat here. What's going on, Gabe,
you're on Fox, it's radio.
Speaker 11 (34:01):
Appreciate taking a call. Guys, I'm with you. I think
d K should be suspended. It's it's unfortunate, but but fans,
we need to we need to start them. It's only
needs to start doing something or NBA whatever, he needs
to start doing something to the fans too. Otherwise, all
teams have horrible fans. It's it's unfortunate, but if they
(34:22):
just keep getting away with it, what can you do?
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yeah, I hear you, man, I hear you.
Speaker 11 (34:27):
I mean you should be suspended from ever going to
another NFL game.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
But right, right, if he said alleged, yeah, there's no
there's no need for that guy to be there ever again.
And some people think that's that's extreme. That's not extreme
at all. You can't you can't go n word cward
like back to back. That is a combo platter that
does not belong in the stands ever, and you should
be gone absently athletes. But yeah, you're right, Gabe. Yeah, thanks,
(34:56):
mag good to hear from you. The other part of
this blows my mind. And so when DK was with
the Seattle Seahawks, they had played at Ford Field three
years in a row, and one of those years, DK
he pointed this guy out. He reported this guy to
team security, this same fan. So I don't know if
(35:18):
he's got something out for DK Metcalf, he's like super
troll fan in general. I don't know if he's just whatever,
he's that guy who tries to get under the skin
of any player in another jersey, or there's something personal
with DK. But that's the backstory too, is this Yahoo
fan was up to some crazy shenanigans in previous years
(35:44):
to the point where DK had to report this guy
to Seahawks team security. So there is a backdrop with this,
like you can't be a professional troll. And you know
there's a difference, right, there's boo you suck like that's
that is tip gold stuff in the stands, like that's
gonna happen. But you know, N words, c words, no man,
(36:08):
no place for that ever. And it's unfortunate if that
indeed is what happened. If what was said, I don't know,
wasn't there, But I just know that he didn't wish
DK and merry Christmas in a happy New Year, and
that's what set DK off. He wanted to punch the
guy's lights out. It was some wild stuff, said had
to be. I just don't buy this explanation of the
(36:30):
fans saying no, I just called him his full name.
I didn't call him like the initials DK. I called
him like his whole name. And I don't know that's
what set him off. Slur slur, what slur me me slur?
Speaker 3 (36:44):
It's ridiculous, man, I don't buy it.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
I just don't feel free to check in your thoughts.
I'm curious what you have to say. Eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox Plenty. To get to tonight top
of the hour, I will get to an accomplishment that
I think in the NFL is actually even better than
winning the Super Bowl. That on the way, lots of
random stuff as well. I got lame fortune cookies. I
got all kinds of non sports stuff to get to
(37:08):
as well.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Also, if you're a college football fan, a little later
next hour, a college football head coach says something not
in favor of his team and instead something in favor
of the sport as a whole. It can happen. It
kind of blew me away. But I'll share that with
you next hour as well. Hang with us, right, here.
I'm Brian no In for Big Ben Mallor. Keep it
(37:30):
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Mellor
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.
Speaker 4 (37:37):

the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
shipped fast and free back by free road hazard protection,
(38:42):
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tire rack
dot Com the way tire buying should be. You know,
it made me think seeing that crazy stat line from
Cooper Flag and his game against the Nuggets. You remember
before the draft when the MAVs got the number one pick.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
I don't know how many people said this.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
They were just like, oh, you know, should they draft
Cooper Flag or should they get a veteran who can
help the team right now? It's like, why can't Cooper
Flagg help the team right now? That's he's doing exactly.
That guy's crushing it, doing a great job. Yes, ninety
seven point one the Eagle Mavericks Radio Network.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
You got to get ninety seven point one the Eagle
in there. It's not official. Let's back out to the
phones here. My guy Dwayne is in Charleston. I'm curious
what he thinks about DK He's gone, No.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Dwayne Cardiac. Stanley is there, he's ready. What's going on? Stanley?
What's you're on? Fox Sports Radio?
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Hey man, Bryan, so Bud, just give me a minute.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
It's got his entrance music.
Speaker 7 (39:54):
What song is that?
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Play it again? I could?
Speaker 4 (39:57):
I only heard like one second of it he played
against Dan.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
Sure, all right?
Speaker 9 (40:11):
Got it yet?
Speaker 4 (40:12):
No, I can't tell you. I'm assuming it's a C
D C. But I'm not sure what.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Song that is.
Speaker 8 (40:25):
No, yeah, it sounds like all the other ones.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
No, stop it, Coop, you're a hater.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
My gosh, you.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Which one is it? Stanley?
Speaker 5 (40:37):
You brought it up?
Speaker 7 (40:39):
You brought it up, You brought up me?
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Yeah, up.
Speaker 5 (40:44):
I got no sympathy this stupors guy.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Gonna go join Le'Veon bell and ab.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
In the in the Hey, Stanley, hang with me if
you want to can continue. We were at the end
of it, right, but if you want to finish your thought,
you're more than welcome on the other side.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Hang with us, everybody,
