Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome. It's our numb Bert too. Our two
ready to go, and we start out in can Za
City and that's where the big contract kerfluffle has come
to an end. And the answer to the question is, actually,
(00:20):
let me just get hello and welcome. It's our numb
Bert to our two of the radio program. The Kangaroo
Court is open for business. Who ends up winning the
holdout between Chris Jones and the Chiefs? That stalemate has
now ended. Also, what did you make of Patrick Mahomes
(00:41):
commenting on the critics of the Chiefs And how big
a body blow is the loss of JK. Dobbins, the
running back for Baltimore. We'll talk about all that and
more right now and here it is our number two,
never water down. It seemed like a good idea at
(01:02):
the time. Well come, in the beginning of another hour
of the Ben Malor Show. We are in the air
everywhere audio blokes as we separate the wheat from the chaff,
and we are hanging out coast to coast, border to
border and beyond on the mast and brashly powerful microphones
(01:26):
of fsre ammating live from a race, the race against time.
We know how that race ends. We are broadcasting live
from the tyraq dot com studios. Tyraq dot com will
help you get there and unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
(01:46):
free road hazard protection, over ten thousand recommended installers. Ty
iraq dot com the way tire buying shultbe and our
lead is going to come from Kansas City. But the
top story continues to be Aaron Rogers as he is
down for the count Rogers injured and we talked last
(02:08):
hour to the pro football doc, doctor Chow, and it
sounds like Rogers, we took a cart right out of
Metlive Stadium, is gonna be out for the entire year
with an achilles injury. That's the big story. Here's Robert Sala,
the head coach of the Jets, getting a little emotional
talking about his now I guess former quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
That part sucks. I'm gonna enjoy this when winning in
the NFL is hard, regardless of who the quarterback is. Personally,
I don't hurt for me, I don't hurt for our
locker room. I hurt for Aaron and how much he's
invested in all of this.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
So I'm still gonna say prayer, I'm still gonna hold
that home. But you know, my heart's with Aaron right
now and no or else.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Well he can say that, Robert Salad. But a couple
of quick thoughts here, a couple of quick takes. Number one,
Robert Sala, if the Jets go out this season and
win seven or eight games, he's they're gonna get rid
of his ass. So he is directly related to Aaron Rodgers.
That is the first thought that I had. And the
problem is this, assuming this goes the way we all
(03:13):
anticipated going, Zach Wilson was hand ticked by Robert Sala
and the front office there with the Jets. That was
their guy. They could have got a different direction. That's
the guy they picked. So that's their guy, and he
gets another opportunity and all this bull crap the Jets
were feeding us that, oh he's a different guy now,
and Aaron Rodgers, like Zach Wilson's learning by osmosis from
(03:37):
being around Aaron Rodgers. Well, if he goes out there
and pukes all over the field, well then what do
you do then? But we'll get back to that. Our
lead though coming from Kansas City, another storyline that we
have been following for several weeks and months has taken
a plot twist if he didn't see it, and maybe
(03:57):
not defensive tackle Chris joe Es demanding in not Aaron Rodgers,
Aaron Donald money. Chris Jones wanting that big contract like
the Rams defensive player got and his contract holdout has
reached conclusion. Did the Chiefs reach out a agreement? Did
(04:17):
they reach an agreement on a massive contract extension with
a four time Pro Bowl defensive player? No, no, not
a massive contract. He agrees to end the stalemate. They've
been at loggerheads for a while there. He missed the
entirety of the preseason and Week one against the Lions,
although oddly he was in the stadium in a luxury
(04:37):
box watching. He agrees to a one year contract, a
reworked one year contract, so we didn't get the big money.
He didn't get the long term contract, one year contract.
Let us discuss the question who ends up winning the
holdout between Chris Jones and the Chiefs. Now that it
is over and this is a unanimous decision, not even close.
(05:01):
All precincts are reporting in and it is a win
for the Kansas City football team. I've got bugs, life
Bundle and sweet Science and we will combine all of
these things together, and we are going to avoid the fungus.
Stay away from the fungus. So number W Chris Jones,
(05:27):
you take it in the shorts on this one. Absolutely right.
There's someday going to teach a course at a major
university about what a failure this turned out to be. Now,
Chris Jones, a fine NFL player, did a very public pratfall.
He tripped and fell in a theatrical way. Chris Jones
(05:49):
living in many respects the bugs life orgo. Sometimes in
life you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield.
We know which one Chris Jones is. At this point,
how bad was it? Well, let's go to the tail
of the tape and the CompuBox stats here. Jones was
fined about two million dollars for missing all of Kansas
(06:12):
City's training camp, and he gave off a five hundred
thousand dollars workout bonus just for going on the treadmill
and pumping some weight. They would have given him a
half a million dollars, so he turned that down. He
also lost one point one million dollars for missing the
season opening game with the Lions. So if you look
(06:34):
at the very bottom of the CompuBox stats. You crunch
the numbers off, Chris Jones ends up losing three point
six million dollars. That is money he can never get back.
He does not get the massive Mega MEGAMEGA contract extension. Instead,
he takes a one year deal. Granted it's a lot
of money and there's a lot of incentives in there,
(06:55):
but we play in a world of snap Crackle pop
with injury here, there and everywhere. And what a masugarah,
What a masugar Chris Jones is to make this stand
didn't work out and he's lost himself three point six
million dollars right there because he was trying to stick
(07:18):
it to the man. Page two, We stay in Kansas City.
Patrick Mahomes addressing the criticism that the Chiefs have been
getting here after their season opening loss to the Detroit
Football team, speaking on his weekly radio appearance on our
affiliate six to ten Sports in Kansas City, Mahomes said,
(07:39):
because of the team's success since he took over, people
are quote kind of waiting for you to go down
close quote. That's what's known as the money quote. Now.
Mahomes made those comments on his weekly radio show as
mentioned here, But what did you make of Patrick Mahomes
commenting on the critics of the Chiefs and people waiting
(08:00):
for you to go down? So this is both benign
and telling. It's benign because it's not that interesting. It's
beyond I mean, we're talking about it, but it's not
like a razor blade slice. It's not that interesting. That
the criticism was also not pointed at Patrick Mahomes. It
(08:22):
was not The darts were being directed towards the bulls eye,
which was on the tukas of Kadarius Tony, the wide
receiver of Kansas City. He was the fall guy because
he had hands of stone in that game with the Lions,
he took the brunt of the blowback. Nevertheless, Patrick Mahomes
(08:43):
is fully aware that high expectations are part of the bundle.
You bought the bundle. It's in the bundle. The noise
hasn't even gotten loud around the Chiefs. They were given
a hall pass by many. They were given a hall
pass because they didn't have Travis Kelsey and Chris Jones. Well,
Chris Jones is back. We think Kelsey will play in
(09:03):
the game this weekend, but I will Garret effit to
you If Kansas City goes out there and lays an
egg in Jacksonville this weekend, the decibel level will get
cranked up. You are gonna need some earplugs. You talk
about being in low spirits. If they get off to
that zero and two start, they'll start having that sinking
feeling in Kansas City. Do I think that'll happen, Well,
(09:26):
you'll have to find out on Benny versus the Penny
this weekend. There's a cheap, shameless promotion for that. And
I haven't even started really handicapped the games. I start
on Tuesday morning. If you're wondering my method to the madness,
I wait till Tuesday morning. Now that all the games
are over, I can kind of break it all down scientifically. Now,
final point, let's go to Baltimore and the injuries continue here,
(09:48):
everyone's busting a gut. The Ravens picked up an ugly
win over the Texans. The Texans were in the game
into the second half there week one. Not esthetically, please
if you're a Baltimore backer, and now they are dealing
in Maryland there with a loss of a key playmaker
(10:10):
who is stumbling, bumbling, and see you later. He has
the Aaron Rodgers injury. Before Aaron Rodgers were talking about JK. Dobbins,
who sounds like a writer. Doesn't that sound like a
writer's name, Like you would write the next Harry Potter JK.
Dobbins or something like that. Anywright. Dobbins a running back,
pretty good running back in college. That's how he ended
up in the NFL. That's how most of them end
(10:31):
up in the NFL. But he's out for the season
with a torn achilles So the soap opera at running
back continues there in Baltimore. Now, despite the injury, the
Ravens do not plan to go dumpster diving and add
somebody else to the roster at the running back position.
John Harbaugh, who's that. He's the coach. It's been there
(10:52):
a while. You should know that. John Harbaugh told reporters
there that the Ravens will rely on who they already
have in house. They're gonna keep it in house, which
means Gus the talking running back, Gus Edwards, and somebody
named Justice Hill will rotate. And guess who's getting called
(11:14):
up from the junior varsity Melvin Gordon, remember him, Yeah,
Melvin Gordon being added from the practice squad. So, how
big a blow? Here's the question, how big a blow
is the loss of JK. Dobbins for the Ravens. So
in terms of the sweet science, right, in terms of
(11:36):
the sweet sciences, the storm clouds over Baltimore. But it's
not a full on body blow, body blow, body blow.
It's not a body blow. This falls into the standard
jab category. It's a light jab. It's not a haymaker.
It's not a power jab. It's not a power punch. Dobbins,
who was a stud at the Ohio State University briefly
(11:58):
and a second round pick. However, he has only played
sporadically in his brief time in Baltimore, and he was
a half a season guy last year. We know the
Ravens have been out in front, they've hopped on the
bandwagon that the running back is a greyhound position. One
of the reasons they didn't want to pay Dobbins more
money this offseason. Running backs are replaceable, you can plug
(12:20):
and play. And Melvin Gordon here's the problem. Melvin Gordon's
really good. There's a warning label though on Melvin Gordon.
The warning label is that Melvin Gordon has butt of fingers,
butter fingers. Yes, he's got by fumbles the ball a lot,
but that's what has happened. It doesn't guarantee anything. For example,
(12:42):
in the Commonwealth, Zeke Elliott, his reputation not gonna fumble.
He's gonna hold on. He's reliable, he's dependable. He will
never fumble the ball first time touching the ball. Fumball roosque,
fumble rooskie, just like that. So that is a habit.
Though Melvin Gordon has the habit of turning the ball over.
That will kill you, just absolutely destroy your offense. It

(13:27):
curse and it is time to down grade the trade.
You gotta down grade the trade. We'll get to that
as well, and we will.

Do it.

Justin Cooper, and he's at u H. Bronco Fan. I'm
on a Steamer, a Bronco fan at Alive Steamer. We
heard it once at Alive from the tyrack dot Com
Fox Sports Radio Studios. It's Ben Maller.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Super Marcus Steve writes in from Sokally says, I've never
cared much about the Chiefs in my life, and I
really don't care much for that walrus looking tub of
a blank coach Andy Reid, But anytime they are on TV,
I watch and root for them to win. So I
don't know what Patrick Mahomes is talking about. Yeah, well,
(14:54):
here's here's the thing. I'm gonna talk more about this
later as we go through the night. It's something I
noticed the while back. I had an epiphany, and it's
one of those things as a sports fan. When you
learn this, you will never watch sports the same way again.
It'll change the way you watch sports. It happened to
me a few years back. I had a come to
(15:16):
Jesus moment. I realized, at some point, every single athlete
that does anything of note, every single team that wins
a championship, they all say a version of the same thing.
It's we proved you wrong. It's never we won because hey,
we're great athletes and we just know that's what you do,
(15:36):
you try to win. It's you didn't believe in us.
And so I realized a long time ago the most
important thing to the engine of sport is the doubter,
because without the doubter, you don't have the athlete saying, well,
we showed you. Yeah everyone, it's even great. It's at
(15:59):
the very greatest when you have a dynasty like the Patriots,
and they were great for twenty years. And throughout the
twenty years, like we, people didn't believe it us. You
go down the list every time, the Golden State Warriors,
they were in the finals every year in the salad
days of Steph Curry back and I'm old enough remember that,
and it was like, oh man, nobody thought we could
(16:22):
do it. You know that whole pay attention seriously on
once you realize that that is the verbiage some version
of that verbiage that is used after an athlete wins
an MVP Award or some big individual accomplishment or a
team award. It's the same thing. Midnight Walker writes in
from Syracuse. He says, Aaron Rodgers is done for the year.
(16:46):
Is this as bad as it gets? No, it's really
just par for the course. Same old New York Jets,
so he says. And it was talk of a of
a curse. The Jets happened to reside on a hallowed
ground there. Although it doesn't seem to affect the Giants,
it only affects the Jets. And there's people that have said,
(17:08):
and we had some people send messagers in that it
goes back to Super Bowl three. There was a deal
with the Devil that the Jets made. They got to
beat the Baltimore Colts and Super Bowl three Joe Namath
one of the great moments in the early days of
pro football in America when pro football took off, and
there are some that are convinced that was the jet
(17:31):
fuel that Super Bowl that led to the growth of
pro football. At one point, it was not very popular
in the NFL. It was college football was more popular.
Baseball was more popular, horse racing, boxing, but Super Bowl
three was a big point of demarkation and the Jets
made a deal with the devil. Just in the last
(17:52):
generation for the Jets. In nineteen ninety nine, you had
Vinny Testaverdi snap crackle Pop goes to the Achilles and
he was gone, curled up in the fetal position. You
had Chad Pennington, who actually was halfway decent. And Chad
Pennington had snapcrackle pop. He had the problem of the
wrist and the shoulder. He had some bone spurs. And
(18:15):
that was a few years after that, in the early
two thousands. Then they got Brett Pharv the New Savior.
That was in eight and he got knocked out with
the bicep injury. So he was gone, and that's three quarterbacks.
Now Aaron Rodgers the fourth quarterback, all within the last generation,
all down for the count eight seven seven ninety nine
(18:38):
on Fox is the number eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three six ' nine. If you would like
to be part of the program and you can down
grade the trade, you can downgrade the trade as Aaron
Rodgers is. It's gonna be announced officially when the sun
comes up today on Tuesday here the twelfth of September,
(19:01):
that Rogers will be out for the entire season. And
that means the Green Bay Packers can now downgrade betrayed
as the Packers will not will not be getting a
first round pick in return for Aaron Rodgers. He had
to play a good percentage of plays here for sixty
(19:22):
five percent was the number. He had to take sixty
five percent of the Jets snaps in twenty twenty three
in order for him to end up or for the
Packers rather end up with a first round pick in
twenty twenty four, and that did not happen. So that
means the Jets will send the Packers a second round pick.
(19:42):
I think they'll be okay. I don't want to speak
for them. But I think they're going to be okay.
The Packers will be fine. In fact, they'll actually like
that more because second round picks don't get paid as
much as first round picks. And we know that the
Green Bay Packers are a frugal operation. Nothing with that.
I'm prugal as well. So okay, instead of getting a
(20:04):
first round pick, you get a probably a high second
round pick, depending on how things go with the j
e ts Suck, suck, suck. But the end things will
be okay, it will be all right and the Packers.
How about the Packers kicking the snot out of the
Chicago Bears. Who could have seen that one coming? As
(20:26):
the media told this Justin Fields, I love these guys
trying to save their take. And I've been there. I've
been that guy trying to save the take. But there's
a lot of these guys in the media that were
out there. They were just absolutely blowing up the balloon
of Justin Fields. And he went out there and looked
like he is no better. He's the same stiff that
he was last year for Chicago. Make a couple of
(20:46):
highlight plays, but other than that, he's not very good.
And so they are stretching themselves like a pretzel. A
lot of these dopes in the media to try to
blame everyone else. It's the coaching, it's the offensive line,
it's the defense. The same old excuses, the same old excuses.
It's never the quarterback's fault, it's always somebody else's fault.
(21:06):
But the Packers in that game did not have the
great Christian Watson, my favorite Green Bay Packer, Christian Watson,
the star wide receiver. Why is he my favorite Green
Bay Packer? Because I was at the Super Bowl media
shindig thing last year. He came over and was hanging out.
We were bonding right there Radio Row at the Super
Bowl in Phoenix. He came by. Nice guy, loves the
(21:29):
video games, all about the video games. I don't blame me.
I would be the same. If you're in Green Bay, man,
what else you gona do? You gotta play video games
all the time. My brother lives down the road from
Green Bay. He's over in Appleton and he's a big gamer.
He's all about the games. You gotta do it.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller

Speaker 4 (22:19):
We have a response from sipon Michigan State head football
coach Mel Tucker has been suspended and likely will be
fired by Michigan State University for harassment sexual harassment allegations. Well,
no surprise here that he has called those allegations completely false.
He says that the investigation of the matter has not
(22:39):
been fair or unbiased, and he believes there's an ulterior
motive to terminate his contract, which is probably true. What
is the ulterior motivate, Well that he actually sucks at
his job and.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
They will he say that or will is this going
to go down a very dark, dangerous road, Eddie.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Oh, I think it's already gone down a dangerous will.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah. I saw a term I had not heard before.
Do you know what darvo means?
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Darvo?
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Yeah, the term, it's a d r v O. Yeah,
I do not know that. I don't know what you're
talking about. Yeah, I didn't hear. I'd never heard of
this either. I'm gonna have to add this to my lexicon.
So the the woman who's accusing the Michigan State coach
of some manual manipulation on the phone there, she says
that he's doing he's using darvo, which means deny, attack
(23:34):
and reverse victim and offender. It's a lot. That is
a lot, right. That seems like a new term that
can't be That seems like it's kind of the zeitgeist
of the times today, like when we were kids. We
were kids, Eddie, I don't think darvaux. I don't think
yet darva. But now we have darvaux. I wish I
didn't know what it was after you told me. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(23:56):
I saw that. I was like, I've never heard of
that before. How long is that been around? And who
the hell created it? Now we mentioned gaslighting, and that's
that's that term has been around for a while, gas
lighting and all that, But that's that's a form of manipulation.
That's what politicians do, and it's a psychological manipulation where
(24:18):
you essentially say the opposite you you say one thing
and then you you confuse people until they question their
own sanity, and that's how that goes. It is the
Ben Mahlars Show, not doing a darvo, but we're hanging
out here. Brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes
bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by
(24:40):
combining your motorcycle, ARV, both a TV and more all
your protection in one place. Bundle and save at Progressive

So Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bill's quarterback, is getting absolutely destroyed,
and I've seen some Josh Allen defenders saying that it's
(25:03):
not right. Did he only this guy's a great player.
He just had a bad game. It's not it's a
shame that people are unloading on him. And who are
these people exactly by the way that are doing this.
I don't understand. I know there's some dopes in the
media that are out in front doing this and they're like,
this is ridiculous. He should not be ridiculed. But the
(25:23):
way I was raised as a sports fan, and maybe
I was raised the wrong way as a sportsman. I
don't know. Maybe I have it all wrong, but the
way that I was raised, like, when you play well,
people say good things about you, but if you play poorly,
then you have to take what comes with that and
you are ripped apart. That's that's the contract that we
have here. That is the agreement that we have. When
(25:44):
you play well, you get a little love and the
people throw flowers at you, and I don't. I don't
throw a lot of flowers. But if you play poorly, yeah,
it's part of the deal. So I know no one's
trying to play bad. I know Josh Allen didn't plan
on going out and throwing three interceptions and a fumble,
but that's exactly what happened. And the Buffalo Bills, that
(26:04):
is an unforgivable sin. And I've noticed a lot of
Bill's Mafia guys love this show. We got a lot
of Bills Mafia and nothing from the Bill's Mafia. And
if the Bills had won this game, it would have
been a jed suck. We're we're the greatest, Yeah, all
that crap. But Josh Allen, he's in the middle of
(26:27):
a six year contract for two hundred and fifty eight
million dollars. Now that's really one hundred and fifty million dollars,
but that's a fair amount of money. I think you
can handle a little, Christ because you know, if you
have that kind of money, if you've got one hundred
and fifty million dollars guaranteed, you can have that double
plane glass which blocks out a lot of noise, and
(26:49):
you can live at the big mansion up on the
top of the hill with the winding road, and you
can have your meals delivered and all that, and you
really have nothing to worry. You're fine. Josh Allen's kind
of an interesting case. He's he went to college in Wyoming,
he's from I believe he's from California, and you're Eddie's
old stopping grounds kind of in California. But Josh Allen
had popped up in the tabloids because he was dating
(27:13):
some music Uh, some musician I'd never or I guess
it was an actress. Actually, i'd never heard of. But
it could have been a musician, because I don't know
a lot of them either. You know, you gotta be
really famous for me to know who you are as
an actor or a musician, because I'm somewhat lacking in
that department. But he got so upset he was speaking
daggers at the at the paparazzo for taking photos of him,
(27:37):
Josh Allen when he was on like on a yacht,
you know, doing his thing, and that 'll do. And
I like, what you're You're a quarterback in the NFL.
You're dating some actress. I don't know who she is,
but other people think she's famous. Like, what did you
expect to happen? You're you're not dating the waitress at Denny's. Yeah,
(27:58):
You're you're not doing that, but he if that was
going on, you are a lady, yeah, and they are.
There are beautiful people that work at and in all
walks of life. I was walking out of Sofi Stadium
in La Here the other day after the Charger Dolphin game,
which was an amazing game, and everywhere I looked there
were people selling hot dogs and some of them were
very ugly. Some of them were good looking. But they
(28:19):
were selling hot dogs. They were trying to get people
to buy buy hot and the inflation those bacon wrapped
hot dogs insane. The amount of money those bacon raps
let's go for and they used to be a great
deal eight to ten dollars now at some of those stands.
But you can't really charge too much there because there's
(28:40):
a million other ones, so you just go to the
next one. You can probably haggle and get a pretty
good deal. You'd be like, well, no, I'll just go
There's like fifty of these things, so I'll just go
to the next one and then I won't. I don't
have to pay what you want me to pay. So
I'm just not I'm not gonna do that. It's not
not gonna happen, writes in from so Kelly says Chris
(29:02):
Jones just isn't valuable. According to Ferd Cat valuable enough
for a holdout to work. But in your case, Ben,
I bet if you held out and fsr's ratings fell
off a cliff, Don Martin would spare no expense to
get you back. Well, it has been proven for a CAT.
(29:23):
I don't want to pump myself up here a little
bit but back in the day. Worst decision the company
ever made. January twentieth of twenty oh nine, the beginning
of the second administration of the Obama administration, second term
for Barack Obama, I was whacked from Fox Sports Radio.
I was unemployed for six months in twenty six days.
(29:48):
I was replaced by a can of soup. They literally
put a can of soup on the radio instead of
me for six months and twenty six days. And then
after that they then and begged me to come back.
And since I had so many other options, now I said, okay,
you know what, since you begged me, I'll come back.
(30:10):
And here we are, all these years later, still here.
In fact, i've been now, I've had two runs at
Fox Sports Radio, because I had the six months in
twenty six days. The first run, I was here for
nine nine years, and now I came back and now
we're like at I think closing in on fourteen fourteen years.
(30:31):
That's a long time. I can't believe it's been that long.
It's wild. We've been in three different studios since I've
been at Fox Sports Radio. Crying Craig and Seattle rights
In says even in college, I knew that Josh Allen
would not pan out. Wow, crying Craig. Where were you crying,
Craig the other day? I did not see you crying,
Craig to give me your hot take on the your
(30:52):
Seattle Seahawks. What happened there? Yeah? In fact, I want
to rip you well. I will not attack our friend Nostradinez.
He did show up, although he was a he was
a sour puss. But JJ from rant and crying Craig.
A lot of you guys in Seattle you went a wall.
You were nowhere to be seen. It's a bad job,
(31:13):
just like your Seahawks. Bad job by your Seattle Seahawks.
Shame on you. Coople Loop.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
Yes, Coop, that's actually a me, Sam.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Oh Iowa Sam, you sound just like Coople Loop. We
have somebody to add Iowa Sam. Yes.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
I've been saying this since I've been saying this since
he left. But I think Josh Allen was at his peak,
or maybe peaked when he had Brian Dayball coaching him.
And I think that without day Ball's calm, you know,
surroundings and atmosphere environment, Josh Allen is regressing. I think
Dave Ball was a big part of him ascending to
(31:48):
where he did a few years.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
So you're saying that he's a phony and a fraud,
then that he's only I think he has a good coach.
He can't. Without a good coach, he's useless.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
I think he needs I think he's a coached up.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Yeah, saying he's not that good, Yeah, just say it,
say it, put your name on it.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
I think he has the tools to be great. It's
a mental game with him, don't you think.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
I was, as has been documented here, I was not
a big Josh Allen guy coming out of Wyoming. He
then played pretty well for a couple of years. So
I was like, all right, maybe that was a bad take.
But now I'm looking at him here and at the
end of last year, and I'm like, I don't know,
look at it.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
You know, day ball made Daniel Jones not not last game,
but he made him serviceable at times.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Yeah, stopped, You've gone too far. You pushed the take
too far. I always say it's a bad job by you.
The Giants passing offense was inept last season. They happened
to win some games. They were able to run the ball,
They made a few plays on defense, and they had
some things break their way, but it was not because
of the passing offense.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
No, no, I know he no, but I'm saying, before
day ball got there, Daniel Jones is almost, you know,
considered a bust immediately.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
He was a last season, which makes it all the
more amazing that the New York Giants decided to give
him a massive contract extension. And then the considering considering
what we knew about him and all that. I mean,
you go back in the hot top time machine to
last year and Daniel Jones keeping up with the Joneses.
(33:22):
Daniel Jones, he was average, but the Giants passing offense
was in the bottom tier of passing offense. They were
a running team. They just hide the quarterback. That's what
they did, and they had some success hiding the quarterback.
It is the Benett Mahlord Show. As we continue on,
we're gonna have Mallard of the third degree. Here is
the instad trivia. Anthony Richardson became the fifth rookie quarterback
(33:47):
since nineteen seventy to have both a passing and rushing
touchdown in Week number one. Blank was the last prior
to Anthony Richardson of the Colts again. Anthony Richardson. It
just became the fifth rookie quarterback since nineteen seventy to
record both a passing and rushing touchdown in week number one.
(34:09):
Blank was the last. That is the insta tributa the answer.
We'll get to that and we will do it next.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Now for the install trivia. Here it is Anthony Richardson
becoming the fifth rookie quarterbacks in nineteen seventy to have
both a passing and rushing touchdown in week one. Blank
was the last prior to the Colt's rookie quarterback who
did that against Jacksonville on Sunday. But fortunately the Jacks
(35:22):
for me one by ten. They covered the spread is
a road favorite. So what is the answer. Let's go
to the calls here. We will have Mallard of the
third degree coming up in a couple of minutes. But
does anyone know the answer? Let's see page down here,
page down. The legendary Eric Zier guessed by Fields of Green.
(35:44):
Who else do we have? We've got Krusty the Clown
from Cowboy Killer. That his answer. By the way, Robbie
the Meriner fan is right now. He's got his knee
pads on trying to massage Josh Allen after that performance.
Really just Sam Bradford guessed by the late night drug
tester Kyler Murray from Justin and Cincinnati. Kyler looks pretty
(36:07):
good there, he's on the comeback trail. Who else do
we have? Renee Richard's son from Stevie Meatballs, a can
of soup from Fergcat. That's his answer. Alf the Alien
Opiner says it has to be the Penny's wife, Miss
minutes that that's the answer here for all time always.
Who else do we have? Doug Christy guests by Shane
(36:28):
from des Moines. That's his answer. Christian McCaffrey from Milkman. Mike,
do you have an answer? Eddie?
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Cleveland Brown's legend. Johnny Manziel,
that's incorrect.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
It is a Brown's legend, though Deshan Kaiser is the
legend back in twenty seventeen didn't win a game if
I remember correct. Here we go a legend who he
was absolutely allegend. It's Mallard. How about that?
Speaker 3 (36:54):
To the third degree, this is one big Ben gets grill.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
Googlo Odell Beckham Junior played in his first NFL game
since the Rams Super Bowl win, and he got two
passes for thirty seven yards. Ben, do you think do
you see OBJ building on this or do you think
these will be the types of stat lines that we
see from him from now?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
He'll have the rare good game, but it's gonna be
more games like this than The Ravens are not a
great offensive team. Lamar Jackson's a wild card. If you
can't put up numbers against the Houston Texans. You got
problems next.
Speaker 6 (37:28):
During yesterday's show, you briefly mentioned reports that the Angels
are willing to explore trade offers from Mike Trout should
he want to make a move, Ben, do you think
Trout and Otani are gone next year?
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Yeah? Well, Otani's obviously the wild card of Atani on
this one. If Otani ends up leaving and he's a
free agent so he's not contractually obviated of the Angels,
then Trout will then ask for a trade Otani and
they're all gone and they'll have to close up the
Big A next.
Speaker 6 (37:57):
The Saints were able to come away with a win,
but in my opinion, Derek car did not look good
out there for much of the game. Ben, are the
Saints still your pick to win the NFC South?
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Well, it's either the Saints or Tampa Bay. And Derek
Carr is the same guy he was with the Raiders,
so yeah, I'm not changing my opinion. The Saints aren't
a good team. No one's good in that division. How
did we do that? Is any way you can put
it on the board. Chuck Chang, chet ching, chet ching,
