Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, what is going on? Welcome in. I hope your
early morning hours are going great so far. Lots to
get to in the wei hours here on Fox Sports Radio,
lots of ball on the brain. I wanted to dive
into this because Mike Sando, he used to work at ESPN.
He works for the Athletic now, but he's done his
QB tiers list for the twelfth straight year. So we'll

(00:24):
talk to fifty NFL coaches, GMS, former GMS executives, all
these people involved in the NFL, and he'll get their
anonymous comments about current NFL quarterbacks and then they're ranked
into one of five tiers. But the comments are what

(00:44):
are really interesting to me. They stand out the most.
And so I was thinking about going with the twenty
twenty four quarterback draft class, the six first round picks
right from that draft, all those quarterbacks that got taken
in the first round, because some of the comments are
pretty freaking interesting. Man, A couple of them stand out

(01:07):
a lot, and so I'll just kind of start an order,
like I'll start with the Caleb Williams. Now, there were
a couple of comments on both sides. There were some
positive comments. By the way, probably the worst tees in
radio history. Man, that clock was tiken abnormally fast last hour.
You know, I thought I had like ten seconds. Turned
out those ten seconds evaporated very quickly. It is my

(01:29):
fault completely, But I was trying to say some scathing
some scathing comments and some glowing compliments. So it's a
combination of both, right, So Caleb Williams, here's one. On
the positive side. This wasn't as eye opening, but kind
of interesting. There was a defensive coordinator in the NFL
talking about Bear's quarterback, Caleb Williams, and this defensive coordinator said,

(01:52):
he's very talented. Ben Johnson is more under center. He
likes to have his quarterbacks under center. Think of Jared
Goff the Lions. He's rarely in shotgun, almost always behind
the center or under the center. I should say Caleb
is more of a shotgun quarterback. So that dynamic is
going to be interesting to me. This defensive coordinator says,

(02:13):
I would not be shocked if the kid plays well.
Ben is good, he can adjust. I'm sure they will
find a happy medium somewhere. So I think that's an
interesting point to make, where Ben Johnson likes to have
his quarterback under center more and Caleb Williams operates in
the shotgun a ton. That's what he did almost exclusively
in college at USC. So it was a compliment but

(02:37):
kind of like a red flag at the same time.
Now this one is that's about as glowing as it gets.
Now we get to the scathing comments. These are the
good ones, right, So here's another defensive coordinator on Caleb Williams.
Listen to this. He's got the talent to go up
in terms of, you know, the quarterback rankings, but in
terms of processing ability and getting the ball out of

(03:00):
his hands, it was the worst we played against. He
just holds the ball forever. I'm thinking the ball should
go right there, throw it, throw it, and he did
not throw it. That's a defensive coordinator. Think about that.
The defensive coordinator game planning against Caleb Williams in his
head saying he should throw it, throw it, throw it.

(03:21):
He wouldn't do it. So, yeah, man, that's a habit
that's got to be broken from Caleb Williams. There's no
doubt about that. The thing to me is it's like
he's just trying to hit a grand slam far too
often where he's just holding the ball waiting for the
big play, and it's like, you're much better off playing fast.

(03:42):
I mean, you can look for a big play here
and there, but you can't do it as much as
Caleb Williams has done it and be successful. It just
doesn't work like that. You got to play fast, take
the quick five yard out, little positive game, you know,
stay on schedule. If you're doing the baseball thing, you know,
stop looking for ran slams. Like literally fouling a pitch
off can be a good thing during in that bat.

(04:06):
It's not always going to be a home run or
a triple or you know something like that. It might
just be fouling a pitch off. That's kind of staying
on schedule in football, make it second in five instead
of looking for a fifty eight yard touchdown pass and
it's you know, second in fifteen because he got sacked,
so he's got to play quicker. There's no doubt about that.

(04:28):
There was one other head coach that said this about
Caleb Williams. He's definitely a one talent, meaning like a
Tier one talent. I just think it's going to take
him longer than Jaden Daniels. He is not playing fast
right now. There is something there. His processing to me
was alarming watching the tape. That's another head coach talking

(04:50):
about him, you know, and it's just a guy telling
you what he sees, what he thinks. Dane Brugler, he
does a really good job breaking down the NFL draft
for the athletic He produces the beast. He's got like
these extensive notes on all these NFL prospects. He's probably
working on next year's list right now. It's crazy. But anyway,

(05:12):
he said this one time, and it certainly relates to
Caleb Williams. You need quick minded players, and the way
he broke it down, he was like, you'd rather have
a Jeopardy champion, you know, quick, quick thinking, fast, fast
at quarterback than a four point zero student. At four
point oh student. That's great, but you don't have time

(05:33):
in the NFL. You could be a four point oho student,
very bright, but if you're kind of slow with your
decision making as an NFL quarterback, forget it. It's a rap.
You're going nowhere. And so both things apply to Caleb Williams.
Got to be a whole lot faster, you know, get
rid of the ball process. Faster, stop looking for home

(05:53):
run plays. I think that can do him a lot
of good in year two. Now, some other qbs in
the draft class, the number two pick Jaden Daniels, you
would imagine it's very positive. He had a spectacular rookie season.
Some of these stats are just ridiculous with what he
was able to do. Where you know, he became the

(06:17):
only rookie starting quarterback in the Super Bowl era to
reach a conference championship game without a top defense. The
Washington Commanders, they ranked twenty fourth in defensive EPA per play.
It's like expected points added. You're just talking about like average,
and where they are in terms of their average. They

(06:38):
were twenty fourth defensively and they're in the NFC title game.
That's insanity. What he was able to do his rookie
year was just crazy. But you know, the comments are
very positive. There's a defensive coordinator on Jaden Daniels saying
what I respect most is it never seems too big

(06:59):
for him. He would stand in the pocket and deliver
the ball. Once we saw him running around, it was okay,
he's going to be a problem. And that's exactly what
Jaden Daniels is. Man he is a problem. So all
of it was positive that there weren't too many naysayers.
I don't know all time rookie season, need to see more.

(07:20):
All the comments were pretty positive with Jaden Daniels, Drake May,
third overall pick last year's draft. So here's one that's positive.
We'll start with that. As an offensive coordinator, he says
of Drake May, his team was so bad Vince Lombardi
couldn't have gotten that team any more wins than they got.
May has promised there is talent, there is ability. I

(07:43):
think he looked very natural at the position. Okay, here's
a not so complimentary comment. This is a defensive coach
whose team faced May, so he pushed back on this
early excitement as far as Drake May is cons earned.
This defensive coach said, I remember coming out of our

(08:03):
game and people were like, oh, we saw the future,
and I'm like, I don't know about that. He made
about three throws. Let's not Winston wolfit yet, is what
that defensive coach said. So not buying into the hype
just yet. Not a believer as of right now. Another one,

(08:25):
there's nothing to say about JJ McCarthy. He didn't play
last season, right, so the jury still out on him.
As far as Michael Pennix Junior goes, there was an
offensive coach that said small sample size, but I thought
the guy played really well in that two minute drill
against Washington. How you play in two minute is the
X factor for quarterbacks in the NFL. For a young guy,

(08:47):
he went in there and he was slinging it. I
think he can win. I think you can win with
him in a healthy run game. So they have positive
feedback on Pennix Junior. This one stopped me in my tracks.
This is about Coopskuy bow Knicks, who played very well.
He was among the quarterbacks from the twenty twenty four

(09:10):
draft class. He ranked second only behind Jaden Daniels with
this QB tiers list from Mike Sando, so you know,
ranked pretty highly among those twenty twenty four guys. There
was a coach that was talking about bow Knicks overtaking
Jaden Daniels this year. Okay, that's what the coach said.

(09:33):
What we are going to see is Sean Payton's ability
to develop a quarterback relative to Cliff Kingsbury's ability to
do that. I'm interested in seeing who is able to
grow the most this coming year. I actually think bow
Knicks is going to win out in that And that's like, WHOA,

(09:53):
all right, now you could I would need a follow
up question basically because you could look at this and
really break down each word where it's like, okay, so
you're saying, you see where bo Nicks is right now,
where Jaden Daniels is right now, and you see bow
Nicks growing more than Jayden. Doesn't think how special Jaden

(10:14):
Daniels was last season, so he doesn't have that much
room for improvement. You know, he doesn't have that much
growing to do. Meanwhile, bow Knicks, who played well, he
does have more growing to do. So if you look
at it like that, is it based on where they
are and you see more growth from bow Knicks, Okay,
that's not as hard to buy. But if you're just

(10:35):
talking about bow Knicks basically surpassing Jaden Daniels each I E.
I don't know about that man. That bar is high
with Jaden Daniels, so I would be selling that comment.
But hey, listen. Another defensive coordinator talked about bo Nicks.
He looks pretty sharp, he knows where to go with

(10:56):
the ball, he runs better, than you think. He throws
better than you think, he looks like. He is a
good competitor who makes people around him better. That is
what your quarterback has to do. So that's a defensive
coordinator with you know, pretty solid thumbs up for bow Knicks.
It's just look, man, I I know Sean Payton's track record,
and it speaks for itself what he's done with Drew

(11:19):
Brees had a lot of offensive success. Now, Drew Brees
is an all time quarterback, right, so I don't know
that all of a sudden, bow Knicks is gonna resemble
Drew Brees or you know, make make a you know,
leap like that. Maybe not to the same level, but
you know, be one of the upper echelon quarterbacks. Just
because Sean Payton did great things with Drew Brees doesn't

(11:42):
mean that he's destined to do great things with bow Knicks.
And look, man, like this Cliff Kingsbury thing. I get it,
there are some red flags, but why do we put
everything on Cliff Kingsbury. You know what's funny to me
is if you look at this quarterback tiers list and
what some people say about Kyler Murray, and it's what

(12:02):
you would expect. It's like, the dude plays video games.
Is he committed at all? He fades every single season,
So it's like, okay, why are we saying those things
about Kyler Murray and then just talking about Cliff Kingsbury
and you know, he just fades and oh you know Cliff,
you know he had Kyler Murray. If you're talking about

(12:24):
trash about Kyler Murray, maybe it might have been more
of Kyler Murray's fault than Cliff Kingsbury's fault. Right, So
this idea that well, Cliff, he's had some shortcomings as
a coach before, so I don't know. Yeah, maybe it's
going the air was pointed down with Jayden Daniels. After all,
It's like, dude, he was a rookie with the Cliff

(12:46):
Kingsbury who maybe you're not sold on, and he overcame
all of that as a rookie, Jayden Daniels did, So
I don't know why you'd still be like, well, I mean,
you know, Sean Payton, Cliff Kingsbury. I think that's just
overstating it myself, But hey, what do I know? These
are coaches talking about this stuff. I just think Jayden

(13:08):
Daniels is special man and for quarterbacks to overtake him.
I've got Jaden Daniels, this top five guy, and I'll
get to that a little bit more in depth later
in the show. But I think he's that good already.
I really don't need to see years and years and
years and years. I can understand how some people would.
I get it. It's a short sample size, but it

(13:29):
was that special. And like one of the coaches said,
when you see the run pass mixture, Lamar Jackson was
the only quarterback to rush for more yards than Jaden
Daniels last season. Daniels rushed for almost nine hundred yards.
And he's got a great feel too. It's like he's
not looking to run all the time, he's not looking
to just primarily throw, like he's got a great feel

(13:53):
for what he should be doing on that particular play.
And that sas a rookie. He has a feel look
like a five ten year veteran as far as Fueld goes.
So I could not be more impressed with Jaden Daniels.
I'd be very surprised if he took it takes a
significant step back. And although I was impressed with bow Nixt,
I don't make it sound like I wasn't. I just

(14:15):
don't see him making a leap where bow is surpassing Jayden.
I don't see that. But there you go. A few
comments to chew on right there. Coming up next, man,
Normally I don't find this interesting at all, but there
was one nugget related to this story that I found
to be incredibly interesting, so I'll share that with you next.

(14:35):
I'm Brian no In for Big Ben Maller. Keep it

It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian though in for
Big Ben Malor. For over forty years, tire Rack has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive, shipped fast and free, backed by
free road hazard protection, with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation tire raq dot com. The way tire buying
should be. You know, I'm gonna get to the militia

(15:42):
a second. Speaking of one of the members of the militia,
did you know this coop that uh, mister nice guy
used to go back with us years and years ago.
I saw his handle is turned to not so mister
nice guy. I think it is, at least it starts
off that way. Did he turn heel? Did he go
to the dark side on us over here?

Speaker 5 (16:00):
I think that's a like a parody account. Oh really, yeah,
I'm pretty sure, but I'm home. Let me let me
let me double check.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
I don't know. It looks like the same dude to me.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I think no, no, yeah, the real mister Knight's guy
is still mister nice guy. Okay guy is at night?
And then it's stalker but s t O K E R.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Gotcha. So there's an impostor. Yeah, yeah, wow, the hater
version of mister nice guy.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
I guess.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
So wow, what a waste of time. But anyway, it
just it popped into my head because you know, it
was probably the impostor, I would imagine, but one of
the most recent times I filled in for Ben, it
was probably the impostor. Mister nice guy was like, geez,

(16:54):
can you let the music breathe a little bit before
you start talking? Gosh. It was basically like, I'm like,
what happened to my guy, mister nice guy? Right, we're
doing weekend overnights years ago? Mister nice guy was awesome?
Ye yeah, big time. Okay, well, I'll be on the
lookout for the impostor the low life. That wow, if

(17:15):
you don't know any better, it's like I thought that
was mister nice guy. He went to the dark side.
Well good, I feel better that he hasn't, at least
I hope he hasn't.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Or has he?

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Well, that's what if both of them have. It's a
you know, a tag team. Not good can only cross
our fingers. That's not the case. Before I get to
the militia. One thing. Let me pay this off where
I typically don't find this interesting at all, and you're
probably like, well, then why would you be talking about it? No,
because I found something interesting about this subject. I typically

(17:48):
don't care about whatsoever. These lists come out, you know,
at some point during the year, probably around this time,
and it lists how much franchises in pro sports are worth.
So it's like, the average NFL team is worth seven
point one to three billion dollars. That's pretty crazy, just

(18:08):
the average team is worth that much. Now when you
see like it's broken down in many different ways, and
most of it I just don't care about even a
little bit. Where this list is like, okay, the Cowboys
lead the way again. They're valued at twelve point eight
billion dollars. And then there are a couple other teams

(18:29):
that have crossed the ten billion dollars threshold. The Rams
have done that ten point four billion, Giants ten point
two billion. This to me is just like le it's
white noise. It's like, Okay, we get it, they're worth
a lot of money. Great, what else you got for me?
You know? But what stood out to me was this
little nugget where the Bengals. They're the team that's worth

(18:53):
the least in the NFL. They're still worth five point
five billion dollars the Cincinnati Bengals. But this nugget is
what really stood out. So the Bengals, even though they're
in last place in terms of value among all NFL franchises,
five point five billion dollars, that's more than every NHL team.

(19:14):
That's more than all but four MLB teams, and that's
more than all but seven NBA teams. Think about that.
That blows my mind. Where you're the you know, the
runt of the litter, basically the Bengals in terms of
what that franchise is worth. But it's still worth more
than all but four MLB teams. Only four teams in

(19:39):
Major League Baseball are worth more than the last place
Bengals in the NFL, and then the NBA. The NBA
has only seven franchises that are worth more than the Bengals.
That's it. They have twenty three franchises that are worth
less than the last team in terms of NF value.

(20:01):
That is wild to me. Like, we get it, we're
football obsessed. We understand that football is king, NFL is king,
but man when you break it down in some of
those ways, it's still staggering to me. Like the least
valuable is more valuable than almost every MLB franchise. That's

(20:24):
just like wow, Like these I can just picture these
commissioners and these you know, these other team owners of
like NBA MLB squads. You can talk to Manfred or
Adam Silver and it's just like oh, yeah, yeah yeah,
NFL yeah yeah yeah. You know, it must be so
annoying for those guys to hear about this all the time,

(20:46):
you know, Like they came out with the the Christmas
Day slate. I think it was Fan Duel tweeted this
out today and it just broke down how the games,
you know, when they're scheduled and the over lap, and
it's I just feel bad for the NBA. I love basketball.
I love the NBA. You know I say it. You
don't get a whole lot of people saying that proudly.

(21:08):
I do. I love the NBA, not like football, And
I just feel bad for the NBA when you look
at this Christmas Day slate, all the NBA games are
gonna be on ABC, which is pretty cool, right, It's
on network television all five games, boom, just keep it
locked on that. You have to say, is this on ESPN?
Is it on ESPN two? Is this the ABC gat Nope,

(21:29):
everything on ABC won't matter. They'll still get their teeth
kicked in. It's like, so it starts off at noon,
calvs Nicks, Okay, one pm, Cowboys Commanders flip, you know,
flip over the ball, and then you know it's a
Spurs thunder that probably wrap up right before kickoff of
Lions Vikings, which is another really good game on Christmas Day.

(21:54):
So it's like MAVs Warriors year ratings just got slashed
in half, most likely cause you're going head to head
with Lions Vikings. And then the nightcap Rockets at the Lakers. Right,
you see KD going against lebron squad Luca on the floor.
All right, we get we're cooking with grease over here.
Well yeah, like fifteen minutes later, it's gonna be Broncos

(22:15):
at the Chiefs. So yeah, have fun with that, NBA,
have fun with that. It's it's a rough reality right here.
You can put all your games on ABC. Not gonna matter,
not gonna matter, Your your audience is still gonna get
crushed happens every time. But the point is, like Adam Silver,
NBA team owners when they're like, oh yeah, cool, you know,

(22:38):
just just when we're you know, we've already had a
bunch of gut punches and we know our Christmas Day
ratings are going to pale in comparison to the NFL.
Now we get this, what franchises are worth? You're telling
me we only have seven NFNBA franchises worth more than
the Bengals that are the least valuable NFL team. Cool. Great,
very uplifting news. Here on a Thursday, you know, Lett

(23:02):
go out to the phones. Here the militia is waiting
on hold patiently. I appreciate that. My guy Andre is
in mass He's got thoughts. What's going onre.

Speaker 6 (23:12):
How you doing? Thanks for taking the call. Let's say
the NFL is King Willis acknowledges this will see.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I wanted to ask you this last time, Willis? What
kind of what kind of dog is this? Andre?

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Will Willis?

Speaker 6 (23:25):
You can hear the energy. Yeah, he's a malanof And
I didn't know what malanol was. You're getting a taste
of it.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Malanol.

Speaker 6 (23:34):
Those are the canine police dog.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Oh wow, Okay, down, he's up in arms.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
There's no intruder here in Touristown, which is good, quiet night,
Uh in tourst Town, and so willis Uh. He barks
and he'll continue to bark. But we got to get
him a Stacker Rudy to calme him down so we
can get back to the sports takes there.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
You go, nice, Yeah, you get him.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
A Stacker Rudie. But yeah, he's he's a loyal you know,
he's obviously energetic, fired up late at night, but he's
a rescue from Georgia and didn't know what Malana meant.
You know, I'll get to my sports take, but I've
learned that it's the K nine military dog. So he's
a shepherd in a black lat mix. So he's black,
you know, mid size. You know, he's fired up, he's

(24:14):
you know, and he will work for Stacker Rudy's. But
it turns of the NBA and Adam Silver. You know what,
can we say, no shame in their game?

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Right?

Speaker 6 (24:23):
They're not the NFL. Nobody's the NFL. Roger Goodell has
that ship on their way to a twenty five billion
dollars you know, annual revenue. You know, and you look
at the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones with the constant soap
offera there worth eleven twelve twelve billion dollars in and
amongst themselves. And Roger Goodell, you know, not satisfied. Like
we learned from the wire, he's coming for the Christmas

(24:46):
Day corners. Christmas used to be the purview of the NBA.
Roger Goodell said, no, we're taking those corners as a matter.
If Christmas is on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you know,
now we're gonna have NFL games on Christmas to cut
into even those revenues. And Adam Silver had to dink
and duck right because the TNT games are on Thursday night.
But he saw that Thursday night football plus with Bezos,

(25:07):
even though the NFL, NBA has to deal with Bezos
because he's taken over the world through sports, amongst other things.
But the NBA moved their Thursday night games to Tuesdays
until the until the NFL season's over, right, So they're
kind of ducky and were running scared and there's nothing
though you can do about it. Football is king. I
just think you have to be strategic and try to win,
try to win where you can uh and go from there.

(25:29):
So I don't think it's one of these things is
that there's no competition. There's never been a competition college
basketball NBA like football is king. Let's just recognize that.
And goodell, he's he's been very assertive and proactive. Uh
so you have to kind of tip it sat. You know,
they're throwing it light around and they're winning. The will says,
throw your weight around and you get the W. So
I just still I'm gonna I'm an NBA guy. I'm

(25:50):
not a football you know. You know, I can't handle
the frozen conjure and all that hitting out there. But
I still think the NBA is healthy, the MLB is healthy. Right,
the other major sports can still can survive, not to survive,
but thrive and contribute. But you got a you know, heavyweights,
heavyweights to class. We got to give that to get
down in the NFL. All right, thanks so much for
taking a call me and Willis.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
We're going to see the next time.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
There you go. All right, yeah, have a good night.
You know there he is, Drey and Willis. How about
that canine military mix shepherd and black lab. There we go.
I'll take a you go Chihuahua.

Speaker 7 (26:25):
There, small and Cudlee.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Have you had a Chihuahua.

Speaker 7 (26:28):
I've had a couple. You have, Yeah, I had a
long haired had a short haired.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Okay, Coop, you have any dogs ever?

Speaker 5 (26:38):
Growing up? I had dogs?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Yeah, uh several Rottweilers. Oh really, a couple of labs.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Nice. What were their names? I give you go in order?
What'd you have?

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Uh? Let's see. My very first dog was Tasha. That
was a German shepherd.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Then we got Alex Lab mix Dakota pure yellow.

Speaker 7 (27:01):
Is there such normal names?

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (27:03):
Right, Like my dog's names were. Let's say I had
a cat named escabible. My dog names we had. We
had a kio like Bill and then yeah that's bad.
He sure did love his taco bell though.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
Yeah, you have boring names.

Speaker 7 (27:23):
Those were human names, yeah, I mean yeah right.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Then there was Jenny Jenny. That was dog Christina.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
You know, I guess, I guess I always had like
dogs named like that. Wow, yeah, I mean the Kiara
was one, but that was that even that's like you
know people named Kiara, but that was after like the
lion king.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
Okay, yeah, see that makes sense. Same with its Gus
was off of a real monsters.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
From Nice you see Nice that.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
I just had. And Buddy, who was psychotic. He was
an American Eskimo dog, like a little, you know, furry
white dog who was the nicest dog on the face
of the earth until I don't know, he turned like
one or two years old, and then he hated the world.
I don't know what happened to Buddy. He was psychotic.

(28:19):
And then we had Migo. We had a Migo who
was the awesomest dog. He was a yeah, he was
really cool, he really was. He loved everyone. He was
an Australian Shepherd, but Migo was the best. But that
was it. Only had two dogs growing up, and then
I'd love to get another dog, but like moving around
like crazy, it's not the easiest thing to have a

(28:41):
dog while you're just moving here, there, everywhere. So haven't
had one for a little while, but hope to get one.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Cats are a lot easier.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
I want to adopt Oreo and then get a dog.
That would be a great game plan. I feel like
Oreo was awesome. She hung out. I was filling in
in the morning, like at two pros in the morning,
so Lorena and I were double headering it over here,
you know, early late night, but Orio was here. It
was cute actually, So she's just the neighborhood cat. I'm

(29:09):
like a proud father. You have to bear with me
over here.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
You know.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
It's not even my cat.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
That's the best part. You're like the adopted dad. No
one asked you to be this person. You just are
this person.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Yeah, right, But Oreo is the best man. She just
comes over. She visits all the time. So what happened
was I heard a noise. Normally I can hear her.
She'll either meow outside or the screen door is kind
of like this wire screen door, and she'll either jump
up and scratch it or kind of just like claw
at it, you know. So it's kind of like how

(29:39):
she knocks, you know. And so I heard a noise
in the final hour of Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe. We were filling in in the morning on
Thursday morning, and and then it went to a commercial
and I just forgot, you know, I was doing whatever,
getting the next topic ready, whatever I was doing. The
show ended right, Lorena, and I'm like, let me just
check to see if Oreo, if she is on the

(30:02):
porch or not I opened the door. She's laying down
on the porch. Oh, she's out there for who knows
how long, just like, dude, open up, like I've got
headphones on, I can't hear that well. And so I
opened it up for she ate some food. She you
know that time, it's like six thirty in the morning,
and she's ready to you know, jump in cabinets and

(30:24):
be crazy and and so it got to a point
where she was about to leave.

Speaker 7 (30:29):
So she got to go home for the night.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Had to go home, had to go kill something. I
don't know, right, she got a whole secret life.

Speaker 7 (30:37):
I'm mad that she has another home that she goes to.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
No, no, it's no, no, it's totally fine. But I
opened the door for her to go, and she took
one step outside and it was hot, you could feel said.
And it was sunny too, Like Oreo just comes out
at night. She doesn't mess around with the sunlight. She
is black. Yeah, so she's like sunlight and me, no,

(31:00):
thank you. She took one step outside and she just
stood there and I was like, you don't have to go, Oreo,
and she's like, yeah, it's a good idea, and she
just turned right around and hung out all day. She
left it like ten pm, right before the show started tonight.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
Well, yeah, what is it like one hundred and twenty
degrees out there?

Speaker 1 (31:17):
It's pretty warm. Yeah, it's easily over one hundred.

Speaker 7 (31:20):
I couldn't imagine what her beans feel like on that
hot cement, you know.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, sometimes out Yeah, she'll walk in and she'll just
start licking her pause, you know, like her back pause.
She's like, it's hot.

Speaker 7 (31:35):
You never be at a pool and you have to run.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Over to where like your toup.

Speaker 7 (31:39):
Oh absolutely, and this cement is fire.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Yeah, yeah it is. It's a real thing. Yeah, so
she feels it.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Man.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
But anyway, Oreo's awesome. I'd love to adopt Oreo and
then get a dog. That would be a that'd be
a solid game plan right there. I think it would
fulfill my life, all right. Militia eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. If you want to get in touch
with the show, feel free to do so. You know,
we got a little bit of time. Let me go
right to Jed, who fled. He's with us right now.

(32:10):
We're not gonna make Jed weight in history. He's right here.
You know. We roll out the red carpet the trumpets, Jed,
what's going on, buddy?

Speaker 3 (32:20):
I don't know if you can call it rolling out
the red carpet and doing a mouth trumpet rolling out
the red carpet. I'm not sure exactly. Listen, I have
full cool belief that you were. You were the z
whack a mole to pop up in place of ben
Mallet whenever he retired. But you let your anim right
there in the Book of Jans right there. But God
gets this dominion over all the animals, and so you

(32:42):
let animals go inside. Have you If you watch the
dog closely, they will eat SEC's. They don't eventually eat cecs.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
I don't need them kissing.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
I don't need them kissing my mouth while I was
fleet or somebody. Right, that's right, Oh my baby, you know,
oh Lord, old Tom call around, you know, learn how
to call. That's that's that's that's a pretty dinner said.
Moment there's a baby, you're like, oh this dog day
coop and it kicks me in my mouth, and my
parents wanting to care, they're like, comeings.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
But but Jed, you're just thinking of the downside right there, right,
You got to think of the upside what about all
the great memories I've had with the neighborhood cat Oreo.
You should see my pictures and video. It's like ninety
percent Oreo bringing joy to my life. You know, you
can't just think worst case scenario is.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Zero percent hotways, I mean what you got. You got
too much time for your for your feeline. You enjoyment, right.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Cats don't try to like lick your mouth either, So yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
No, no they don't. They pretty much. They definitely much
interested in. They've junk all the time.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
I have a cat suck on your ear lobe.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
I had a cat that was born without hits one
time because they're very, very infestuous, and I ran up
on it a scream and my nephew, my friends thought
I was They told me I was going to hill
because they were just fanding circles. They couldn't run away,
they were just standing circles. Now I did, you're going?
You're going to hill? I was like, Hey, I met Besoda.
We'll go lafe on the later. Hey, let's me puts
it joy?

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yeah you too? Good stuff? Jed, very nice, nice stuff.

for Big Ben Mallard.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Goodbye.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
There you go, the great Eddie Garcia right there, Coop.
Do you know the rest of that? That line from
Denzel an American Gangster is like, I forget the dollar amount.
It's either twenty or twenty five thousand dollars. Ala alpaca.
I don't know that's that's twenty five thousand dollars out
pack twenty five thousand. He's like, you blot that?

Speaker 6 (36:01):
S you know.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
He's like, you don't something, you blot that, But I
can't remember the whole line. I watch that you haven't
seen that.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
I haven't seen a lot of movies, mostly just Disney movies.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
American Gangster is a great movie. I didn't love it
the first time I saw it, And I don't know,
why are you ever liked this? You ever watched movie
the first time? You're like, it was all right? You
watch it again, You're like, what was I think of?
This movie?

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Is?

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Great?

Speaker 5 (36:26):
Yes, but I feel like, uh, more often it's the
other way around.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Really, okay, yeah, we're I.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Mean not necessarily where I no longer think it's a
great movie, but where like I watched the movie the
first time and I'm like, wow, that might be my
favorite movie of all time. And then I watched it
a second time. I'm like, Okay, it's a good movie.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
I don't know that I've ever done that, you know,
I can.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Think of one off the top of my head, which
and like I said, it's a great movie, but Django unchained.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
When I saw that in the I was like, I
think that's my favorite, Like, you know, it's my favorite
Tarantino film. It might be like my top or second
favorite movie of all time. And then I watched it
again and again and I'm like, it's really good movie.
But I don't even know that it's my favorite Tarantino

(37:19):
you know movie.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
Yeah, So just I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
In the moment, I just.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Think I think I went into that one not knowing
what to expect, and I was, you know, pleasantly surprised,
and but I don't know, it's hard to put anything
over pulp fiction, like, well, I.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Mean, yeah, it's an all timer right, by the way,
I found the whole line here, Coop, this is Denzel's
that's twenty five thousand dollars Alpaca. You blot that s
you don't rub it, put the club soda on. There
is what he's that's the whole life, fairly, that's what
he's saying. In American Hustle, we recommend it in a

(38:00):
very good movie. Russell Crowe very good in that movie
as well, right, American Gangster, did I say Hustle?

Speaker 5 (38:06):
Yeah, which is another good movie.

Speaker 7 (38:08):
You know what do the Hustle?

Speaker 1 (38:10):
There are a lot of people that talk trash about
American Hustle. I liked it a lot. Yeah, it was
good with Amy Adams performances. Yeah, yeah, Bradley Cooper's in that.
He's got a weird role in Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence and
Christian Bale, Right.

Speaker 5 (38:24):
Yeah, Christian Bale, who like gained like forty pounds for
that role.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Yes, right, that's right. His love interest was Amy Adams
in that one. You know, I guess he had love interests.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
Yeah, he was a Jennifer Broncos fan Amy Adams.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
That's right, as you found out right, right and stuff
left and right. Here's here's a crazy betting story. This
is wild. So our guy Arnie Spanier, you know, another
host here on Fox Sports Radio. He texted me this
earlier in the day and it was a veteran Indiana.
I wish this was me, But this veteran Indiana he
bet on thirteen NFL preseason games. Last week he did

(39:01):
a thirteen leg parlay and he turned ten bucks into
almost thirty one thousand dollars. And I know, like, listen,
this is just like a rags to riches type story.
It doesn't happen commonly, but this one is an all
timer because of how he got there. So there was
one game, it was the Bears Dolphins. He just went
money line on. Thirteen games had a lot of upsets too,

(39:23):
at like six or seven money line upset wins, and
the Dolphins Bears game was a tie. So that game
gets thrown out right, it's basically no action, it's voided.
So now it's down to a twelve leg parlay. He
hit on everything else and he got saved by the
betting gods. Basically, this was that Falcons Lions game where

(39:47):
there was a scary injury right. There was this safety
for the Lions, Maurice Norris. The first play of the
fourth quarter, he goes in for a tackle. He runs
up from his safety position, he hits the running back
and his his neck kind of snaps back and he's
on the on the ground for like twenty minutes. They
stopped the game. The ambulance comes out, like all these

(40:08):
EMTs are there, they're taking care of him, so he
drives off the field. He gets driven off in the ambulance,
and the game they snapped the ball and they just
let the clock roll until they were like six and
a half minutes to go, and then the NFL called
it off. That's how he won. The game has to
be at least fifty five minutes and it didn't go

(40:29):
long enough, so that leg of the parlay was voided
and he probably would have lost. His team was losing
by seven points at the time. Who knows, We won't know,
but he might have won thirty thousand dollars thanks to
a game ending prematurely. That's insane, man,
