buying should be. So Eddie, the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones,
he said there's no urgency to get a CD Lamb
deal done, and Cedee Lamb, who is a top wide
receiver in the league, stars for the Dallas Cowboys, he
(00:41):
just simply responded on Twitter. Lol, that's what he responded with.
Lamb didn't report to camp. He's looking to be one
of the highest paid wide receivers in the league. He's
not in camp, Eddie, and Jerry joneses, Yeah, He's like, no,
no urgency, I Eddie, I just I don't get it, man.
(01:02):
It's one of these deals where unless the Cowboys when
it's all said and done, because they're going to resign him,
unless they get this huge mammoth discount, which they're not
going to. That's the only reason I would look and
be like, oh, it actually worked out. They agreed to
a very team friendly deal. That's not going to be
(01:25):
the case. Ceedee Lamb is going to make a boatload
of money, which he should because he's fantastic. I don't
understand why some franchises insist on drawing this out and
working against themselves. He's gonna make Ceedee's Lamb is gonna
make in the neighborhood. It's going to make more than
Amen Ross Saint Brown, the Lions wide receiver. But the
(01:45):
Lions didn't drag this out throughout the offseason, and they're like,
am and Ross really good, let's pay him thirty million
dollars a year. Done over and done with. It was
like an oh. By the way, the Dolphins restructured Tyreek
Hill's contract and he's making about thirty million dollars a year.
It wasn't dragging out. It's not like Tyreek Hill is
(02:08):
away from the Dolphins training camp. I don't know why
some teams, like the Cowboys the Bengals are getting in
their own way with Jamar Chase. I don't know why
they make it more difficult for themselves instead of just
paying a top player top money that's the going rate.
That's what it's gonna take. I don't know why you
just are like, I don't want to write the check
(02:30):
just yet, Let's wait until well into training camp. It's
just dumb. I think it's bad business.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Well, for some franchises, like the Bengals, they're known for
being tight wids, so they're kind of on brand. But
for the Cowboys, Jerry always caves in anyway and gives
them what they want. So for them, I'm not really
sure why this is taking so long, because we know
he's going to pay him, so get him into camp
(02:57):
as soon as possible. I don't know if he if
he wants to put up the appearance of playing hardball
or or what it is. And you know this isn't
his first rodeo. I get that for Jerry, but he
does in the end always Caenan, does he not? I mean,
he did it with Michaeh Parsons, He's gonna do with Dak.
He did it with the offensive lineman whose names escaped
(03:18):
me last year who held out Martin was a Zach
Zach Martin, the Aloys Beezies guy. So just you know,
I'm not sure what the hold it is.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah, man, you look at Ceedee Lamb's numbers. Last year,
Eddie led the league with one hundred and thirty five
catches for seventeen one hundred and forty nine yards and
twelve touchdowns. Those numbers are insane. We have been talking
about Ceedee Lamb a whole lot more, but our focus
was on Tyreek Hill for a lot of the season.
(03:47):
All the receiving yards he was putting up, We're thinking,
is he going to get to two thousand. There was
a lot of conversation about that before he got banged
up toward the end of the year. But Tyreek had
the most receiving yards Short of that, We've been talking
about Tyreek Hill of Cede Lamb. We would have been
talking about CD a lot more. But to have you know,
(04:08):
one yard shy of seventeen fifty that in the yardage department,
that is a ton of production. I get this, Like
the only thing I can say is they're looking to
these three guys are up for huge paydays. It's Ceede Lamb,
it's Micah Parsons, it's Dak Prescott. So that's the one
(04:31):
thing why you're trying to hammer out all of the
deals at once. Potentially that can make it a little
bit trickier, but bro work it out. I don't know
why we're approaching mid August. You know, we're a month
away from the beginning of the season. You don't want
to have training camp without your guy, Ceedee Lamb. There
(04:54):
you've seen this time and time, Eddie, where sometimes there's
a contract dispute and there's a holdout, and then and
there's like a soft tissue injury, maybe like Darrell Reevis
with his hamstring one year when he's holding out. I
don't know why you would want to drag this out, like,
get the deal done, get the guy in camp. Look
at the Lions. They paid i'min Ross Saint Brown, they
(05:16):
paid Penay Sewel, they paid Jared Goff, they paid their
top guys. They didn't drag it out. That was early
in the offseason. I just don't get the cowboys in
the Bengals making life more difficult for themselves just doesn't
make any sense at all. I don't see where the
gain is. And then you get this also, Eddie, where
you have to negotiate through social media. So Ceedee Lamb
(05:39):
his Twitter bio, he has removed the phrase America's team.
Oh no, yes, and he has replaced it with eights
because he wears number eighty eight. So no more America's
team on the Twitter bio for CD LAMB right there.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Well, that's big, that is big. That is uh the
movie It's to Move these Days, that's yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, it's like a relationship status update.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, what would be the equivalent, Lorena is It's like
it's complicated?
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah, exactly, that's exactly what he's saying. Yeah, maybe even
a situationship Mmmm.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Maybe he should have put that in his bio instead
of eights. Just it's complicated, you know. Maybe that's the play.
I don't know, but this is the way it's gonna go.
Eddie Ceedee. Lamb is gonna get paid a boatload of
money within the next week or two. And I'll say
the same thing, why did it take so long?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Right? Like, is this Jerry just wanting to stay in
the headlines.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I mean maybe a portion of it is that he's
always he loves the limelight. We all know that about Jerry.
But h dude, I just don't see how. I don't
see how this is beneficial at all at some point.
That's the thing, man, It's not only about the headlines.
If Jerry really wants the super Bowl, which I believe
(07:08):
he does, but it's like, then be smart about it.
Don't be a bonehead and get in your own way
time and time again by dragging things out for headlines
or whatever the reason is. It's like, if you want it,
then just be smart about how you approach it, you know,
And there are far too many times the Cowboys just
don't do that. This isn't hard. CD Lamb's one of
(07:30):
the top receivers. Pay him top cash, that's the going rate.
I don't know, I do like what CD put or
it's just like, Lol, Jerry, there's no sense of urgency.
There are some man Eddie, there are some players in
the NFL, or it'd be a much different reaction. Can
you imagine if the team owner is like, there's no
sense of urgency to pay fill in the blank. There
(07:51):
are some dudes in the NFL that would not have
just kind of laughed at that situation, like CD Lamb
did think about. Remember Jamal Adams, the safety. He had
to play hardball. He wanted out of New York, he
wanted to get away from the Jets, and he had
to basically talk trash about Woody Johnson, the team owner, right,
and he got out out of there, got to Seattle.
(08:14):
But there are some players, like if Jamal Adams when
he was one of the top guys, if the team
owner was like, there's no sense of urgency, I don't
think he would just go to Twitter and write lol,
you know what I mean? It could be a much
bigger deal. But CD, I think that he did a
pretty good job downplaying this whole thing. Just not smart,
just not a good approach at all.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
But well, I don't think CD wants out of Dallas.
So that's a little bit of a difference.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
No, no, no, no, yeah, I'm just saying if I know, But
I'm just saying how they would handle it. Like the
comparison isn't that CD wants out. That's not what I'm saying.
It's if Jamal Adams was up for a huge payday
and the team owner was like, nah, there's no sense
of urgency. I don't think you would have handled that
very well at all. But I think CD did we
(09:01):
just writing lol, like okay, all right, no sense of urgency?
All right, man? Cool? You know he didn't make this,
He didn't add to the drama. Is what I'm saying.
I don't think some might disagree with that. I don't
think that's adding to the drama at all. I was
looking I know it's going to be shocking to you, Eddie,
but I was looking at the gambling numbers. Remember I
(09:21):
was talking about Puka Nakuwa, which you know, I don't
know if he's he's gonna put up Studeley numbers again.
The injury bug might be an issue this season. But
I was looking that up for CD Lamb and man,
his numbers, it's still high up there in terms of
what's expected from him, like receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns and
all that. It's still some of the top numbers in
(09:44):
the league. And this is you know, Vegas. These are
the sports books that are projecting this. He's at okay, Eddie.
So I have to get the CD Lamb numbers for you.
But I just thumbed through it and I'm like, wow,
Vegas is still very high on CD. So I don't
know why the Cowboys wouldn't be. That's kind of strange
to me. Don't get that at all. But hey man,
(10:06):
that's that's the Dallas Cowboys for you. Every now and
then they just can't help. It can't help, but get
in their own way. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox is your number. You want to get on in here,
feel free to do so. The old Twitter machine is
quite active, you know, so we'll get some tweets out
here as well. But feel free, militia if you want
to get in. Oh, Eddie, I saw a tweet here.
(10:28):
Let me mention this real fast. I'm curious what your
reaction will be to this. Marty checked in and wrote,
y'all trying to get stumped on where NFL players went
to college again. Remember our knockdown drag out last time.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Eddie, I do it was embarrassing, it was.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
It was quite the pathetic effort. I remember you got
off to a hot start. You had Lyle Alzado right yanked.
That's a great poll by you.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I'm still pissed I didn't get Larry Allen though.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Yeah. And then it just went off the rails where
some people were throwing out non NFL players remember that.
I don't even know where it went someone throughout like
an Olympic swimmer or something like that. It's just like crazy.
It was wild. So what do you think, Eddie, is
this competition night. Are you going to do the long
jump in the NFL College Challenge? If you will? What
(11:23):
are you thinking tonight? How are you feeling?
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I'm thinking about half assing both of them. Probably, okay.
I think though, with all due respect to the fine listeners,
I think maybe you and I, if we're going to
do it, we should go ahead and throw out the
players to each other.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Oh really, okay? Yeah yeah, it's like, oh wow, we'll go.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
On the honor system, like make it challenging, but not
something insane.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Very interesting. I'd be up for something like that just
for the hell of it.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Well, give it a try. Maybe.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Okay, yeah, we might do that, all right? Coming up next,
This is the anti Jim Harbaugh move, is how I
would describe it. We'll see if Eddie is on board
with this. He's Eddie Garcia. I'm Brian now'er in for

Speaker 1 (13:48):
It almost sounded impromptu right there, you know, Yes, are
you a Foo Foo Fighters guy? Eddie? As Coop's about
set to go see one of their concerts?
Speaker 6 (14:01):
Here?
Speaker 1 (14:02):
You a fan?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
I like them. I don't know if I would go
see him in concert. I might wow.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Wow wow, just sort of. I like him. If the
song comes on the radio, I'll check it out. But
I'm not going out of my way to see a
live performance. That's where they are.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Huh. Yeah, I think that's fair. Actually, yeah, it's fair.
Speaker 7 (14:24):
I'm not a I'm not a super fan or anything.
I know, you know all of their hit songs, but yeah,
but and there's a lot of them. But other than that, like,
I don't really know, you know, their their deep catalog.
But I just kind of thought, kind of what you
said earlier. I think Dave Grohl is a legend, And
(14:49):
I saw the concert was coming up, and I'm like,
you know, that's kind of one that I feel like
I should see. Yeah, I don't hate that at all.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Did you see Coop did you see Sonic Highways from
Foo Fighters. I highly recommend it. I thought it was
really cool. I forget what it was on. It might
have been HBO, I'm not sure, but they basically, yeah,
it was one of their albums. And what they did
they sort of made it, I don't know, kind of
(15:17):
like a series, if you will. So they would go
to all these cities around the country, like they did
one in Nashville, they did one in Washington, d C.
New York City, and they would tell the history of
the music scene in that town and then they would
show how it sort of inspired them to write this
song on their album that I think is entitled the
(15:41):
Same Thing. I think that's correct. But that's the premise
of at least a TV part of it is they
would go around the country and just so the Nashville
one was really interesting. They were telling all these stories.
It goes back to Dolly Parton and maybe some artists
that you might not even be aware of. They even
had that one. They had Zach Brown and I think
(16:04):
one of his main hit songs, the first one is
is It Chicken Fried? You probably know that song if
you heard it. But what was interesting about that was
someone ripped off the song some other artists, some other
band said hey, man, you mind if we cover this
song and Zach Brown was like, yeah, that sure, but
just make sure you do this do that, And they didn't.
(16:26):
And he the first time he heard his own song
was from another band on the radio, and it was
this whole story about how he had to fight for
the song and the rights to it and all this stuff,
which Brown is the original artist. No, they're just telling
like the Foo Fighters they went to Nashville, told the
whole story of the music scene in Nashville, and one
(16:48):
of the newer layers of it was Zach Brown and
how this you know, they're just they're trying to make it.
They have this song, you know, and some other band
basically ripped it off. Wow, and he had to fight
for it or otherwise they might not have ever made it.
It's it's really interesting, man. I highly recommend Sonic Highways,
(17:10):
the TV series if you will, from Food Fighters really good.
It's really good. So yeah, there you go. Oh so Eddie,
you know, let's work in the militia first and I'll
pay off the anti Jim Harbaugh move. At least in
my estimation, our guy Poppy is over there in San Diego,
(17:33):
wants to check in. Poppy. You're on Fox Sports Radio.
What's going on?
Speaker 6 (17:37):
Oay, Brian, I really like that. You're going to be
doing all right for Hollywood in the last hour talking
about that. I hope he recommends on HBO Max. You
know Hard Knocks, you know, training camp with Chicago Bears,
you know Caleb Williams. That'll be interesting.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Is that your egg, Poppy? Is that your squad? Who's
your team?
Speaker 6 (17:57):
No? You know what, I'm actually I love NFL talking
about that. Uh, you know, Brian, I have no team,
but I do want to give out picks because we're
going to be having a segment right here picking with
Poppy versus an animal. So I do want to give
up a pick for, you know, a preseason game. There's
a lot of good games that are on the state
and I'm really liking it, Brian. So let's break down
(18:19):
the first game. You know, there's two guys going to breakdown. Look,
a lot of people are looking at this game. The Ravens,
They're gonna be playing at home against the Eagles, right,
I know, the Lamar Jackson. It's all about the information, guys.
La Mark Jackson ain't going to be playing. I really
don't care who's a better coach, Harball he played this
preseason game since last season they went undefeated, so the
(18:40):
coach is going to be playing, you know, hard to
get the line currently right now, I believe it's a
plus one on the Ravens. It doesn't really matter, guys.
I'm taking the Ravens plus one do the money line.
Really loving the Ravens on this one, and why not.
If you guys want to tease it up, we're gonna get.
I'm gonna give you guys a two game seas or
teas it up, all right. The other game is going
(19:01):
to be the Houston Sections against Eddie Garcia's seen the
Pittsburgh Steelers. We all know Russell's not going to be playing.
They're saying good news of Mike Tomlin about Justin Field's
how he's looking. I'm really loving Justin Fields. A lot
of people are saying that's a bad move. He's playing
for being the starter in week one. I'm predicting he
will be the starter, but who knows. It all depends
(19:22):
what he does on this game. There's going to be
no CJ. Strout, so you know Mike thom is going
to becoming strong with the defense, and I'm really liking
the Pittsburgh Steelers on this one. So let's let's why
not teach.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
So a couple of thanks here, Bobby. Did you say
you're predicting Fields as the week one starter.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
Yeah, I'm predicted Fields on week one starter right now.
So look, the Spreaders plus two and a half of
Brian Steelers are going to win this game. They're going
to dominate. So yeah, Justin Fields, I see him. He
got more energy, he regunified.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
That Bobby, Bobby, you do know? Do you know? Are
you I'm not sure if you're aware justin Fields is
freaking terrible. I'm not sure if you're aware of that?
Is that?
Speaker 6 (20:06):
No, no, no, no, I am aware, But Louck Bryan,
I don't know if you're aware of it. I like
your take, you know, but I don't know if you know.
Russell Wilson, he's injured. Brown. It's not like, hey, I
know he's terrible justin Fields.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
What injuries? What injuries are we talking about here with
Russell Wilson.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Well, you look, he always gets hurt, like you know,
people then come hard on him and I'm predicting he's
going to get hit by linebackers. He's going to get
a serious injury, predicting, and that's why they got Justin
Bhild for insurance purposes.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I don't know, you're poppy. I know he's got the calf,
but I'm just looking at Russell Wilson. Game started, let's
go down starting in twenty twelve, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, sixteen, fourteen,
fifteen fifteen, and he was benched by Sean Payton. So
it'd been pretty freaking durable, is what I would say
with Russell Wilson.
Speaker 6 (20:56):
Yeah, but with agent everything he's going on right now.
He just weren't there pretty much for the money. But
I'm seeing Justin Fields the future. I think i'm predicting
he'll he'll take over the Steelers. Don't be surprised when
you see him tomorrow and he blows up. Everyone's gonna
be sitting in social media on the Steelers. Oh, Justin Fields,
it's so good. He's to be the starter of a
(21:16):
Russell Wilson watch. He's gonna do good tomorrow. He's gonna
go do things. Steelers are gonna cover. They're gonna straight
out destroy the Houston Chasmon. But I mean real.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Fast, your poppy. Two things. Two things. One, we should
have gotten in on the in game unders, right, both
games were rainy, you know, the Giants, the Patriots. We
should have gone in game under. I was tempted. I
didn't pull the trigger and I regret it. Poppyweight had
an opportunity right there. But in terms of real fast,
the last thing, last thing, as far as injuries, justin
(21:46):
fields has been way more injury prone than Russell Wilson
ever has been, you know, so I just keep that
in mind too.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
Well, Brian, I was gonna tell you something, a quick
sip for tomorrow. I know you're gonna do some chips.
Take whatever you do. Player props through the under. Don't
take the over because it's a preseason. All the unders
are gonna hit, not not the over.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
I don't know if they even offer those, do they, Poppy, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
The offer those if you go on price picks. They
have those players props, but you have to deal with
two players. It's a little risky. You have to do
match two players. So just do the last, do the
last on what you know, they have over one hundred
rush in the yards. They're going to take them out
of the cart. They're not gonna go.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Up, but you can do the last all right, Poppy,
Hey man, we appreciate all the info, good stuff right there.
Poppy is all over it, Eddie. What do you think about?
What do you think about gambling on preseason games in general? Eddie?
Do you frown on that?
Speaker 6 (22:37):
So?
Speaker 2 (22:37):
I yes, I do frown on that. That's uh.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I thought you might. I thought you might. You know,
what are we doing over here? That sort of thing? Right?
But if there's value to be had, Eddie, then what I.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Mean, it's your money, do what you want to with it.
But stupid.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah, hey man, the pro those are all over it.
You know, our guy Bill Krakenberg. Yeah, crack, he's all
over He's he sends the Sunday group text all these
lines he was actually in on what was it? I
think it was Eagles plus three? And it's moved so much.
(23:19):
It's moved about five points and it fluctuates right it's
it might have moved back the other way for all
I know. But the point is the pros like he's
a professional sports handicapper. They're all over these preseason games, Eddie.
So hey, man, if the pros are on it, there's
got to be something to it, right, Hey, what do
(23:39):
you think about Justin Fields in general?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Eddie?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
I know you're a big Steelers fan. What do you
think about him? If he's under center? Right or behind
center is what they say now? Shotgun formation so often.
But if he's the guy for a big portion of
the season, do you have high hopes at all for
Justin Fields? I've heard so many like, hey, look out
for Justin Justin Fields has been hot garbage in three
(24:03):
years in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I know he can make some jaw dropping plays and
he is an outstanding athlete. He can't throw the ball
with any consistency at all for three years, and all
I hear are positive comments about this guy. He was
a hack in Chicago. Why would you think he's gonna
be great in Pittsburgh. I don't know why anyone's talking
up this guy. No idea.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Uh you asked high hopes. No, I have no high
hopes for Yeah, for Justin Field, I'm not. I'm not
all that excited about either one of these guys. We'll
see what happens. I'll be hopeful, hope for the best.
But if you're asking me, am I excited about either
one of these quarterbacks gaming? I am not.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yeah. Let's see, So completion percentage in three years sixty
point three, So let's see, just as little gauge, what
were that puts at in terms of the NFL. That
would be right at Zach Wilson territory. He was at
sixty point one last season. Also, let's look at passer
(25:04):
rating right, real fast with important stat right touchdowns, interceptions,
yards per attempt, that sort of thing, completion rate. So
we got four stats in one. So he's at eighty
two point three, Eddie, eighty two point three for his
three year career. Justin Field, where is eighty point three
just in terms of last season, just to give a
(25:25):
gauge of where that might be. So let's see, all right,
scrolling down, down, down, down, This would be just above
Kenny Pickett and below Desmond Ritter. Is what Justin Fields
has done in three years in the NFL. He's an
(25:45):
outstanding runner. You got to be able to throw the
ball consistently in the NFL with precision, which Justin Fields
has never done and probably never will do. I don't
know why Russell Wilson's reputation is in the toilet and
people still have high hopes for Justin Fields. I don't
get that at all, Not at all, Eddy Russell Wilson,
(26:08):
say what you want. Statistically, had pretty decent season last year,
twenty six touchdowns, eight picks. I mean, you can do
a whole lot worse than that. I don't know if
Justin Fields will ever have a season where he's throwing
twenty six touchdown passes. That's not a hater comment. Each
year seven seventeen sixteen, he hasn't even gotten to twenty.
(26:31):
I don't know if he's ever going to get to
twenty six in his entire career for a season. I
don't think that's unnecessarily harsh. That's where I'm at on
your boy, Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Uh, he ain't my boy.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Well he's a Steeler than Yeah, yeah, you're Steeler Justin Fields.
Is that better?
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Sure? That's better.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meler

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Another note from the NFL for a Super Bowl hero
and him. Quarterback Nick Foles announced his retirement from professional
football I think I heard they're going to retire retires number.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
I think, so yeah, are you serious?
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Hey? What super Bowl winning quarterback, MVP of the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Come on, Philly, you gotta be better than that. Is
that really the case? What was it? Number? He was
number nine right in Philly.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Number nine correct, Philly special.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
You want to go Philly, Philly. What great audio by
the way with Doug Peterson. You know, Nick's like, you
want to go Philly, Philly? And Peterson paused for like
two seconds. He's like, let's do it. You know, major Eddie,
we talk about me gambling. You know, there's nothing compared
to Doug Peterson's gamble there to go for two with
(27:51):
a trick play like that. That was That's why there's
a statue outside the stadium. You know that was outstanding.
But come on, man, retiring the number.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
It says they're going to honor him September sixteenth against
the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
So well, that's different, right, That doesn't mean they're like
they I would assume he's come out, wave to the crowd,
come out to the stadium. The area is super Bowl
MVP Nick Foles. No, we're not retiring his number because
he's a one hit wonder, you know that sort of thing.
Pretty good one hit though, there's a great one hit,
(28:28):
outstanding one hit but he's the Baja Men of NFL quarterback.
That's come on now, No, who let the Dogs out?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Nick Falls let the dogs out? Win a Grammy?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
What else has he done besides that one?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
I mean, that's a big one thing though. It's also
the only one in fanchise history. So it was.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Who let the Dogs Out? And we can't under sell
that was a tremendous song.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
No, you gotta have a better pull than that.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
That was an outstanding one hit one It was not,
And it's a terrible song, a one hit wonder that
won a Grammy.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
I'll go there. Okay, let's look, it was not he
let the dogs out for God's sake, which I hear
at the Fresno State football games all the time.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
So, oh yeah, how do you not love that?
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Eddie?
Speaker 2 (29:20):
Come on, it's very easy, it's very easy to not love.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
That tremdness song.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
This song, I'm gonna quote Jonas Knox. This song sucks.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Wow, this song sucks.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
It's fun. It's festive, beef festive, Yes.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
What what festival do you play? This song at I would.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Play it that many really, Yeah, you're Thanksgiving?
Speaker 3 (29:49):
What's a crowd favorite? Like everyone loves letting the Dogs?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
You would not be invited to my Thanksgiving if you tried.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
To play, Oh, here's a good one. Los Lobos with Bamba,
the biggest one hit wonders of all time. They want
a Grammy for it?
Speaker 7 (30:05):
Uh, who let the Dogs out?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Want a Grammy?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
That's awesome because of great musicians.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
For Best Dance Recording.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Come, that's not real. That's not It's gotta be like
the song of the Year or something.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Not start moving around when that thing comes out.
Speaker 7 (30:35):
It gained popularity after appearing in Rugrats and Parents the movie.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
I understand it now.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
I still have that VHS tape and it's orange. It's yeah, Nickelodeon.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
You know they you know, they are not barking. They
are saying who who who? Instead of who let the dogs?
And who? Yeah? Yeah, man, I don't believe you, but
well you can listen to it again.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I did not know that they're obviously barking. They're they're
saying in a barking like manner.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
It's both Yeah, yeah, they hybrided that thing.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Dogs don't say who when they bark that was on.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
But the Baja men do right. It's a barking version
of saying the word.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
It's so clever. It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
And you are becoming grumpy in your older age over here.
You know you can't hate on who let the dogs out?
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Man? Oh I can?
Speaker 1 (31:35):
I feel like that willow point for you? You know this,
this is a breaking point for you in your surliness.
You know goodness. This was a portion of Nick Foles's
retirement speech. Put this out on Twitter. Check this out.
Speaker 8 (31:47):
It's crazy to be in this moment looking at this
camera officially announcing my retirement from the NFL. It's been
such a special privilege to play for Philadelphia, Saint Louis,
Kansas City, Jacksonville, Chicago, and Indianapolis. Specifically, thank you to
the Philadelphia Eagles fans. Thank you for all your support
from twenty twelve when I was drafted to twenty seventeen
(32:11):
when I came back. You truly made playing in Philadelphia
the most special experience in my football career.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Yeah, what was that?
Speaker 2 (32:20):
It was nice.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
It's almost like an o bow back there or something.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
By the way, the Eagles have not allowed anyone to
wear number nine since he left the franchise.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Oh so we're speculating that maybe saying maybe they could
be they can. Come on, Eagles, I'm sorry, you can't
retire Nick Foles jersey. We got to have standards over here.
It's a proud franchise. How many jerseys have the Eagles
retired in there? Okay, so we got McNabb, Brian Dawkins,
(32:52):
think about Brian, Reggie White, think about these are great
Eagle players for.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
I would imagine it's probably on that list.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Yeah he is. Yep, the late great Jerome Brown. Yeah,
big old number ninety nine, he's on the list. But listen, man,
I know they didn't win Super Bowls any of those guys,
but those were great players for a long long time.
To be in the Ring of honor, to have your
your jersey retire, you got to do it for more
than that, right.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Eddie, No, not really, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
I mean, it was an iconic moment, don't get me wrong,
The Philly Philly and all that that was iconic.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
I'm just saying, if you've only won one and you've
been around since the beginning of the NFL, I'm okay
with it. If they want to do that.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Man, I would say, step your game up, Eagles. This
is like the Nick Collison of the NFL. You know, like,
what are we doing over here? I know it's not
Nick Collison played for the Thunder for a long, long,
long time, but he's still Nick Collison, you know what
I mean? Like, come on, what are we doing? You
gotta have this n.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Collison didn't wasn't the MVP of the NBA Finals.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Well, they know, but he was there for like fifteen years.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Now.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
That's not that's an apples to oranges comparison.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
No, it isn't.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Yes, it is.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
It's oranges to oranges or apples to apples. I'm not
sure which it is, but it's one of those two.
We got a lot to do here. Eddie coming up next.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Did I tell you the story where I almost got
thrown in jail because of a Zach Brown concert?
Speaker 2 (35:14):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
I kind of hope I did tell you. So you
actually forgot something, you know, because I sometimes forget things
that you said, and you you remind me of that,
you know. I So if this story sounds familiar, you
just stopped me midway through. But I'll tell you the
story real fast. So this was during the Final four.
I think this was twenty fifteen. It was in Indianapolis,
(35:39):
and that's when Kentucky was undefeated. They lost to Wisconsin,
then Duke they won the championship. I think that was
twenty fifteen. But anyway, I was there and our guy TJ.
Reeves right, remember to sideline, Yeah, Sideline reporter, so he
was there also, and Scott Shapiro, one of our bosses.
(36:02):
He reached out to me. He was like, hey, would
you like to cover the Final four? And I'm like
hell yeah. So TJ was there and we went out
to dinner. TJ picked up the tab. We had a
great night. Then all of us just went our separate ways.
There's a Zach Brown concert going on for free right
outside of where we ate at, and so I go
(36:22):
up there and I'm like, hey, who's playing. They're like
Zach Brown. I'm like, oh, and it's free. They're like yeah.
I'm like cool. So I started to walk in and
they're like, no, no, no, the parks closed. No one else
can get in. And I'm like, what do you mean.
They're like, the parks closed, we're not letting anybody else in.
I'm like, it's clearly not closed. There's a whole concert
going on, there are many people. Nope, can't get in.
(36:45):
And so I'm like, all right, I got to get
into this thing, Eddie because they said I couldn't, you know.
And so I went to the very other end. I'm like,
maybe they're cooler over there. Nope, same story, and I asked.
I was like, so if I got caught like bing
into the concert, let's say, what would happen. And he's like, oh,
you'd go to jail. I'm like, okay, all right, so
(37:07):
those are the stakes, and I'm like, I still got
to break into this thing.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Well, I'm very.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
You know, I'm a scholar, Eddie, you know, but this
was a quest of mine, and so I went. I
scouted it out, Eddie. There are tarps all around this
concert area, and so I looked strategically for a spot
no one is around, no one can see. There are
no fans, there are no spectators, there are no security people, nothing.
(37:37):
I'm about to hop the fence and I look, it's,
you know, completely dark, and I look. I squint through
this tarp and I see someone sitting there in like
a folding chair, just in case a moron like me
jumps the fence and tries to break into a concert. Here.
I'm like, abort this mission.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
I'm out.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
I always went to jail because the freaking Zach Brown.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Eddie, they should have teased you. All right, We're.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Gonna get to one of the most epic games ever
of all time. Next
