Speaker 3 (00:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Oh what's going on?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Happy Tuesday morning to you as we roll on. Good
to hang out with you guys. Having a lot of
fun here early morning hours. So there's a player and
a team that need to break up with each other pronto.
That would be Yannis at Atacoombo in the Milwaukee Bucks. Now,
(00:52):
there was something I caught on Monday during the day.
This is Brian Windhorst. Saw a video post that he
was a guest on First Take and just this comment.
It's just short, sweet to the point. I thought it
was hilarious.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
But here's Windy on the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
S trick this out.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
If you're asking me, do I think the Bucks can
put a team together that compete to win the Eastern Conference?
Speaker 6 (01:17):
I do not.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I don't know why I got such a kick out
of it.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
If you're asking me, can the Bucks win the East?
I do not think that is going to happen at all.
It's basically what he's saying.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
It's not.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
And that's the thing, man, is the Bucks they need
to move on from Yannis, and I think Giannis needs
to move on from the Bucks now. If his personal
preference is to remain in Milwaukee, it's up to him.
I mean, listen, he came from overseas. He's been in
Milwaukee for a long time. He's made a lot of friends.
It's like his extended family. If he wants to stay there,
(01:57):
by all means, maybe that's what he wants. But he
said repeatedly that he wants to win championships. He now
win championship in Milwaukee. Not for a long time, I
don't think ever. Again, it's just not in the cards.
Look at that supporting cast. They don't have the guys
with Damian Lillard on the on the shelf for an
entire season. You look at that supporting cast. Even in
(02:22):
the East. We love to say that the East is
wide open, and it is. It's just not wide open
for the Bucks.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
It's just not They don't have a good enough supporting cast.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
They made a couple of moves here and you're like, okay, right,
they re signed Bobby Portis, They'll have Kevin Porter Junior
back there, a two year deal, eleven million dollars. They've
made a couple of Torrian prints is gonna be back there.
It's like, okay, these are shrugged the shoulder moves. Brook
Lopez is gone gonna be with the Clippers. So I
(02:55):
just I don't see the supporting cast being nearly good
enough seriously compete in the East. I think if Jannis
remained in Milwaukee, Milwaukee best case scenario would be the
Westbrook Thunder.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
That's what they would be.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
When Westbrook was averaging a triple double three straight seasons
in Oksee, he was unbelievable individually, put up all these
insane numbers, and then the team lost right away in
the playoffs, just first round exit, first round exit, first
round exit. They didn't go anywhere. That would be the
Milwaukee Bucks with Yannis, he would go freaking crazy. He
(03:34):
put up these insane numbers, and then the team wouldn't
be good enough to do anything come playoff time. Like
he just saw this last year, they got smacked by
the Pacers. Now, Damian Lillard got hurt in that series
that had something to do with it, But they're not
even close.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
That's a gentleman sweep.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
With Gianni's playing, What do you think it's gonna be, Like,
Dame's not there for any games in the playoffs. He
was there for a couple of games, right, he's not
there for any of them going forward. You think the
results are gonna be much different. They're not so the Bucks.
I mean, their future is dire where they don't have
(04:15):
picks and they don't have roster flexibility. Other than that,
they're in great shape. Their future is very bright. Without
having picks or any roster flexibility, They're they're just in
fantastic shape. No cap space, they're maxed out. So that's
where the lack of flexibility comes in. And they don't
(04:38):
own their picks. Their picks are all gone, Like they
still owe draft picks. On the Drew Holiday trade, True
Holiday has been traded numerous times since his Milwaukee Bucks days.
The Bucks still owe draft capital in that initial transaction,
Like True Holiday just got traded again from the Celtics
(05:01):
to the Blazers, and the Bucks still haven't paid off
that deal in full.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yet they don't have picks, they don't have space.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
They can't get better, and they're not even upper echelon
in the East. It's time to move on. This is
where you gotta sell high. If you're moving Yannis, you
can command top dollar. Yannis is still a legitimate MVP candidate.
(05:31):
He's one of the best superstars in the entire NBA.
And this is a way that you can get draft capital.
You can get players, numerous players who can help you.
Now young, you go young, that's what you do. You
reset the whole thing. It's not in the cards. It's
not realistic to compete for championships as currently constructed.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
They have zero chance.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
And I don't like throwing that around with the player
as gifted, as talented, as productive as the honest they
have no chance, none, zero, And like, if you're staring
that in the face, you gotta be realistic with yourself.
That'd be like saying, man, look at that hot blonde
(06:19):
over there. I have no chance, like none, not even
like the legal limit. I don't have a point eight
percent chance with this girl. I'm gonna go spit game
at her, Like, why you don't.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Have a chance what do you do? You just bored?
Speaker 4 (06:37):
You want to get shot down to you want to
get your feelings hurt. Is that what you're in the
market for over here? Like that, you gotta be honest
with yourself at times you just do. And Milwaukee has
to be honest with themselves. And I think Giannis has
to be honest with himself. If he really wants to
win championships, he has gots to go. It's gots to go.
Time get up out of Milwaukee. And if Milwaukee wants
(07:01):
to win big, you gotta do the unpopular thing. If
Jannis doesn't want out, you still gotta get him out.
You gotta get some draft capital. You gotta go young.
You've got to reset and rebuild. You're maxed out.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
It's like a credit card, like the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
They still haven't paid their credit card bill on the
Drew holiday transaction. They haven't paid their credit card bill
on the Damian Lillard trade. All that stuff is still due.
You gotta pay all that stuff, and it restricts all
of your flexibility. So listen, man, it's time to move
Giannis and try to recoup a lot of the things
(07:41):
that you traded to get those assets to go for it,
and the Bucks have been aggressive. I think overall they've
done a pretty good job surrounding Yannis with talent, trying
to go for it. Let's get Damon here, let's let's
go for it, Let's try to appeal to y honest,
Let's make sure he's not going anywhere. But now, unfortunately
that a tough blow where Dame Torres Achilles, and that
(08:04):
changes everything, and you have to look at this thing
from a completely different vantage point, and you gotta be
honest with yourself, and it's time. It's time to move
you honest. I think it's best for both sides to
move on from each other.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
But I'll say this, and I've.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Done phillin shows in Milwaukee, and it's like a unified
front right where they're The common thing is, if you,
honest doesn't want to go, you do not You do
not trade him whatsoever. I remember the days before Giannis
and bah blah blah blah blah. You make the hard
decision and do what must be done. Even if he
(08:39):
wants to remain. It is time to part ways because
that's the only way you're gonna have a viable future.
That's the only way, that's the only major chip that
you have is him, and I realize he's been so
unbelievable for that franchise. But if you have no chance
to win and you're just gonna risk Listen, Yannis, he's
(09:02):
had calf injuries before. He missed the entire playoffs two
seasons ago because of a calf injury. What did we
just have in the NBA finals? Haliburton had a calf
injury and whoa, what do you know? Torn Achilles?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Crazy? How that works out?
Speaker 4 (09:20):
What if Yannis stays in Milwaukee and gets hurt. What
if he snaps in Achilles and then you're trying to
move him, Yeah, good luck. All of a sudden, you're
getting half of what you could have gotten. The time
is now, it's not worth the risk to have Yannis
stay there, and you're risking his long term health if
(09:43):
he goes down and that hurts the trade value. If
then he's like I want to get up out of here?
Are you? Then you have the bright idea, like, man,
we actually need these things called draft picks. This would
be a path toward that roster flexibility. It's too late.
By that time, you hurt all of your value. So
(10:03):
you gotta be proactive and it's just staring you right
in the face. It's best for Giannis and the Bucks
to move on from each other, all right with that,
let me get to the militia eight seven seven nine
on Fox, Helmet Man is with us. I love that
helmet Man in La.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
What's going on top of the morning day? Same to you.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
Yeah, I was gonna talk about the Dodgers and the Oiols.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Okay, what do you have on your mind, helmet Man?
Speaker 7 (10:35):
You think the Oios could still make the playoffs because
it's half the season.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Yeah, man, they got their work cut out for them.
Helmet Man. You know, let me check how bad the
damage is right now for the old O's.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
But yes, slow star, they've been playing better. But let
me see that.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Let me see how far back they are, and I'll
tell you for sure. Well, so, yeah, what's what's your
Dodgers thought?
Speaker 7 (11:00):
I think even though they have pitching is trying to improve.
I still think they have to fire a power to
make it to the playoffs and go to the World
Series that can't.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Well, they're definitely gonna make the playoffs. Hopefully they'll be
blessed with better health. They've had so many injuries. But
I mean you look at them and do they have
the best record right now?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Like, even with all.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Those injuries, they're tied with the Tigers for the best
record in all of baseball.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You know, Like, and I look at the Orioles.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Listen man, helmet man, there's seven back in the wild
card race and.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
They got a chance.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
But you got a leapfrog the Royals and the Twins
and the Rangers and the Guardians and the Red Sox
and the Angels and the Mariners just to be one
of the three wild card teams. That's a lot of
leapfrogging to do. I would say, no, I say no,
they don't get there.
Speaker 7 (12:00):
One other thing before I go, Could every could every
person the listeners pray for me because my mother died yesterday.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Oh, helmet man, I'm so sorry about that.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
Man.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
She was ninety six.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
And then, don't know what.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
I hope he's listening. Yes, she passed away, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. Milk helmet man. Yeah,
I'll send a prayer up to Big Guns. That's why
I call him.
Speaker 7 (12:27):
You know, you lived for a long time. She was
ninety six.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, that's ay man. It's a long life. Yeah yeah,
thoughts and prayers for you.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
That's never easy, never easy.
Speaker 7 (12:40):
Oh yeah, I haven't started crying yet.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Wait man, the morning, Top of the morning, Top.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Of the morning to you, Elman Man, good to hear
from you and a man, Thoughts and prayers with you.
I hope you find some peace with it and everything's
cool for you.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
Man.
Speaker 7 (12:58):
You can tell anybody pray for the hender Sings in
the Washington family.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
There you go. That works all right, Helmet Man, thanks
for checking in. Good to talk to you.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
There.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
He is helmet Man. Wow, ninety six years old. I
think he had a tougher time with me saying I
don't think the Orioles are going to make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
It's like Brian, they're still alive. Yeah they are, They're alive.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
But that's a lot of leap frogging, man, a lot
of leap frogging. Hey. You know, the crazy thing is
my dad is a huge baseball fan, and we were
just talking recently. It's crazy how the season is so
unbelievably long and there are teams that make these crazy turnarounds.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Were Cardinal fans.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
My dad is born just outside of Alton, just outside
of Saint Louis in Alton, Illinois, and so we root
for the Cardinals, And there have been years, one of
their recent championship seasons they were five hundred forever in
the season, just could not have a winning record, just
(14:10):
couldn't happen. Five hundred, like past the All Star break,
well past it, and all of a sudden they just
kicked it into gear. They snuck into the playoffs and somehow,
some way they won it all it can't happen. So
I don't want to say no chance, no how, But
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (14:28):
Man.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
It's such a just a brutal start for the Orioles.
It's not gonna be easy for them to claw back
into it. It's one thing to you know, you get
a seven game winning streak, you leap frog a couple
of teams, you still have like a Baker's dozen left
to go. You know, that's a lot. That's a lot,
all right? Coming up next, multiple players call out an organization.
(14:53):
We'll get to that right around the corner. I'm Brian
though in for Big Ben Malar. Keep you locked right
here on Fox Sports Radio.

Big Ben Maller.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
We are broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Man.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
I was just telling him Lorena, it's got a long
car ride coming up here. Got it to the sunflower seeds.
It's funny, right, it's funny. You're playing System right here.
But Toxicity, right, this is a different song, but Toxicity
where they talk about chewing seeds is a pastime activity, right.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
They know System knows is that what they were mentioning
is that the video they're sitting on a couch and
like chewing sunflower seeds.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
They have a big, like a huge pile, you know,
kind of like Scarface where Pacino has the the coke
on the table, they have like a seed pile on
the table.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
So it's more so at home. But I bet system
of a down.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
I bet they choose seeds on the road to stay
awake on a long car ride.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I bet it works every time.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
I'm telling you, you just get your little empty bottle,
can you know, just chew the seeds, spit out the shell.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
A lot of people say, like roll down the windows
and the music.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
You could try punt.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
I've tried slapping myself in the face, you know, like
singing along with the songs. Nothing thing comes close to
working as well as chewing sunflower seeds. Does.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
It works every time.
Speaker 9 (17:06):
I'm gonna give this a shot. I will let you
know how it goes later in the day.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Please do. I highly recommend it.
Speaker 8 (17:12):
Yeah, Agon is not a short trip. It's like eleven
and a half hours from here, So.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Yeah, that's that's a long, long journey.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
It's a long journey. You're going up the Grapevine.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
Yeah, well I have to. I'm hoping to get through
that as soon as we're done here.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Okay, you're just gonna mosey on through the Grapevine.
Speaker 8 (17:29):
Yeah before the traffic starts. Yeah, hey, and before my
car overheats.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
How fast are you going once you reach the peak
of the Grapevine, because I've had some beaters and I'm
going maybe fifteen miles per hour by time I reach
the summit there.
Speaker 8 (17:46):
I feel so bad for the cars that are not
equipped to go through there. Oh man, oh my gosh.
Every time I see one broken down on the side.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
It's not a good not a good situation.
Speaker 9 (17:56):
You don't realize how steep it is until you're in it.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
You know.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
I had a it was kind of scary.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
I had to drive all the way back to Indiana
recently a few months ago, and I went through Denver
and it was crazy snowy there and I.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Almost didn't make it up the hill.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I was in this van and I'm like, the wheels
the rainer are just like they're spinning, and I'm like
I'm starting a fishtail, and I'm like this is pretty sketchy.
I don't know if I'm going to reach the top
of this and if I don't, I am screwed.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I don't know what I would do.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
We're just there need chains. Yeah, everybody was stopped on
the side of the road, like all the signs they're like,
you better be chained up, or you're you're stupid, basically
what the signs were saying. Yeah, it was not a
great situation, but made it. It was all right, Okay, let
me throw a couple of sports nuggets your way. I
(18:54):
don't get to the well, well, let me get to
the militia first and then I'll get to the players
calling out organizations. Blind Scott is with us over there
in Boston. What's going on? Blind Scott?
Speaker 10 (19:04):
Hey, what's Brian? You know, I'm a big fan of you.
You're like one of my third favorite people on the radio.
I've been doing college to WWSA N all weekend and
that's like a really high station to call into, you know.
So this is the Ben Mallor Show. So I just
got to point out that this guy traveled twenty seven
hours with clam showder that wasn't refrigerated. And then Loraina
(19:26):
is getting that. Loraina is headed out of Dodge right now.
She could drive twelve hours to avoid this insanity. You
know what I mean, I just I just love it
so much.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
By the way, I'm third blind Scott. I appreciate the
praise right there, But who's in the top two. I
gotta know this, I.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
Got to put you in.
Speaker 10 (19:45):
So I almost Ben mallor Fred Toucher, and then Brian
Know and then Chris Plank and then and then I'll
sit Tron and but I would put you at number
one though. I got to say this, This guy, Brian No,
he's a hero to the blind community. He has infiltrated
blind circles. He comes up in conversations amongst blind radio people.
(20:07):
I mean, yeah, like, I know this guy is a
younger guy, and like he's like the toughest dude I
ever met. Like he went through like some adversity when
he was in high school. His living situation wasn't always steady,
and he moved around a lot. He didn't always have
a place to say. He sucked up people's couches, and
he was blind. And he graduated high school, he's about
to graduate college, and he's about to turn twenty one
(20:29):
next week. And now I think this guy has a
great chance at getting on the radio, Like I was
trying to direct them towards Christian radio and he's like, no,
that's not not my thing. But I'd be willing to
move to a radio market with him or have him
come with me in Boston. But you know, I'm talking
about Emma Douglass, Like Brian goes on his ex his
ex spot, but I think he like, I think you
(20:52):
can really carry the conversation. I'm just trying to teach him,
little kidmit like, like you want to kind of sell
your personality on the radio, and don't worry all your
sports takes as much because he has a really great
strate that doesn't know how to tell it through radio,
you know what I'm saying. And I see Brian like
working with him in radio, you know, And I couldn't
have seen like anybody help anybody more than Brian, Like
(21:15):
I mean, I just like most people don't go out
of their way to try to help young people and
broadcasting in radio. And Emmetts lives up in the PMW
in like a smaller market area and he's only twenty
years old and he's totally playing. He's been blind his
whole life and he actually really does have a good
chance on getting on live radio. And they say it
(21:35):
takes a it takes a village, you know what I mean.
And yeah, and Brian's part of that village that raises
up the blind community. I I we talk about it
all the time, and I just couldn't be happier to
talk to you, Like I I feel like I've hung
out with Coop and his wife before, Like I feel
like I got to meet you someday, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 4 (21:52):
Like, yeah, anytime Bland Scott not school stuff, man, it
am it's the best. You know, you can tell em
Ittt's huge sports fan and he knows his stuff.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Definitely hard to do his thing.
Speaker 10 (22:03):
Try to get him some face time with the big
boss here at Fox Sports Radio. You know what I mean?
Anything could anything could happen for a young man like him.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
When you said when you brought up the Christian radio possibility,
when you're like, hey, you know Christian radio, it might
be a path for you.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Did blind Scott say no? Ask that is that? What
he said was that.
Speaker 10 (22:23):
Now he's open.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
I think he's open to it.
Speaker 10 (22:25):
He just such an understand like he's only twenty, He's
only twenty. So he's been blind his whole life. So
I'm trying to explain to him, like how you can
make money and this and how it is, you know
what I mean. And he still doesn't understand how some
kids his age have a lot of money, you know,
like they have like all these cars. He's like, where
do they get all this money front? I'm like, dude,
it's like their parents buy him this stuff, you know
(22:47):
what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (22:47):
Like he's gonna work. He had to work.
Speaker 10 (22:50):
Guys had to work for everything his whole life. Joey,
he's very mature. I've known him promised eight years now
through this show, and I've really just been right alongside
with him learning mind.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Let's good man.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
I'm glad that you're behind him, Blind Scott. We're all
behind him. We love Emmett's so good stuff. But it's
good to talk to you, you know, good stuff with
blind Scott right there? Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Uh, let me go out to John is in Reno.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Let's get some Reno action in here, John and Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
Oh hold on second, all right, I just I just
did a shot that didn't go down too well. A
shot of what Jamison, little jam O, little Jamo in
the morning.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Went down the wrong pipe, Han John.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
No, I got her down.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Okay, that's good.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
I like that you were in mid shot, but you're like,
you know what shot first, then hot sports takes you know.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
I liked that.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
We go, there, we go, there we go. So I've
been doing a little research and I see everybody's pretty
much basketball heavy, and except for the towns where the
teams are, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot
of viewership for basketball. So that leaves quite a wide
open area. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah, I mean there's some truth to that.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Uh, You're certainly gonna see higher ratings in the markets
that have teams, no doubt. It's it's funny, you know,
because I'm a I'm a huge basketball fan.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I love football the most, but I love the NBA.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
I watch the w n B a a lot. But
the funny thing is, no one complains about, say the NFL,
the same way they complain about the NBA. They don't
even complain about MLB the same way they complain about
the NBA.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
And it's it's just.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
A few tweets here and there, but I'll never get like, Brian,
why are you talking all this football like goodness, but
I will get that with the NBA. As much as
I love the NBA, that does exist quite a bit.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Hold on, Brian, We're going to do one more shot off,
all right?
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Yeah, go for it.
Speaker 9 (24:51):
Can you make it a double?
Speaker 4 (24:54):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (24:54):
They're they're probably they're probably doubles is the way I
make them? Anyway for about two outs of okay, okay.
Speaker 9 (25:03):
With a pH Brian, Yeah, let's listen to this.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
There we go, There we go. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
How many shots are you in tonight? John?
Speaker 6 (25:15):
I'm probably four deep?
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Four deep? Okay?
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Once I got a cocktail going alongside them, so I'm
backing them up.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
You're getting after it here, John? Oh yeah, yeah. Any
cake stands? You do keg stands from time to time.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
I'm not a bear drinker. No, I'm not much of
a bear drinker.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
You ever do keg stands of shots? Instead?
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Like?
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Who's doing that? It's an untapped market.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Why don't you do it?
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Why don't you do a keg stand of Jamo? You know,
just not anything crazy, not like a real cake stand,
but just do an upside down a double shot at Jamo.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
You could break new ground.
Speaker 6 (25:57):
There's a bar that I hang out here in town.
It actually has Jamison on draft has it on a tap?
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Oh wow, that's hardcore.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Yeah, Reno's the bomb baby come out here sometime.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Yeah, it's what's the tagline? The biggest, smallest? How do
they say it? What's the tag Yeah? That's right. Why
do they say that? Why is it? Why is that
the tagline?
Speaker 7 (26:23):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (26:24):
Because back in the day it was actually better than Vegas,
uh huh. And Vegas is out growing it now. So
it's still kind of a big city. There's about a
million here, Okay, so it's still considered a small town.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Gotcha interesting? Yeah, very nice.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
I like listening to you, Brian.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Well thanks John.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
I appreciate you doing some shots with the militia here
live on the air.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
That was good.
Speaker 6 (26:50):
Where's the where's the sound effects for the drinking shops?
Speaker 2 (26:53):
What do you need? Just like a glog glug glug?
You know that type of thing?
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Yeah? You know you usually hear you hear.
Speaker 7 (27:02):
I?
Speaker 8 (27:04):
Yeah, you want like a liquid pouring.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
That works.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
That does sound like a water though, does it not?
Speaker 9 (27:15):
It just says liquid pouring. It doesn't say beer juice.
Does make you want orange juice?
Speaker 2 (27:22):
We need liquor pouring.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
You know, that's what need.
Speaker 6 (27:27):
I have another? There?
Speaker 4 (27:29):
You very nice, well, good stuff.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
John.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
It was fun hanging with you man. Yeah, you have
a good one too. There he is John in Reno.
He was Yeah, I mean radio is theater of the mine.
But I kind of believe him. I think he was
doing some JMO. Wow, how about a bar having Jamo
on tap?
Speaker 9 (27:52):
That sounds like heaven?
Speaker 7 (27:53):
I love Jmo?
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Do you do you?
Speaker 9 (27:55):
I don't get heartburn anymore from that.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
You've built up a tolerance. I see. Yeah, Jack Daniel
used to give me heartburn and they switched.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Okay, yeah, what's your drink of choice? Lorena? You know
I tried to get Loraina some water.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
So Lorena was out in Vegas for the Cavino and
Rich festivities and.
Speaker 9 (28:17):
Uh where I finally got to meet you.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Yeah, it's the first time we've met in person. We've
done I don't know how many radio shows together. I
know we finally met. That was awesome. But we were
at the Legacy Club in Circa for one of the events.
They were having fireworks, like the sixtieth floor. It was
really cool and Loraina's like, I'm so thirsty.
Speaker 9 (28:38):
They don't just have water out for people. And the
line for the bar was ten miles long.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
It was, And so what did I do. It's a
good radio campadre. I said, I'm gonna get Loraina some
freaking water right here. And so I waited. I waited,
people trying to elbow me out of the way, like
they're going up for a rebound.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
I said, no, no, no, Loraina need water. I'm standing my ground,
and I waited it out.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I got a very nice plush like spring water, you
know how they do in these fancy places.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
So I'm like, ooh, fancy water for Lorena.
Speaker 9 (29:11):
Isn't a bottle?
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yeah, I walk over. I'm about to give it to her, like, hey, Lorena,
I know you're thirsty.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Here you go. She's already drinking something else. She's a
drink two timer that Lorena.
Speaker 9 (29:25):
I'm sorry, so parched, I didn't care what it was.
Give it to me.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah, it's totally fine. I'm like, well, she's got a drink.
Speaker 9 (29:32):
So, you know, I was.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
Wondering why I couldn't remember much of that night. Brian
and I figured out it's because I.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Didn't eat well.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
That that would have something to do with it.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Absolutely I was like, what did I have for dinner
that day? And I was like, oh, oh, that's right.
I wasn't. You didn't eating food?
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Actually, looking back.
Speaker 9 (29:51):
That pinut Colada was great though. And those two lemon.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Drops, Yeah, hit the spot right there.
Speaker 9 (29:58):
Drop me out, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Hey, By the way, how the mighty have fallen? Have
you seen this?
Speaker 4 (30:06):
So Texas State they officially joined the PAC twelve conference
on Monday. That's right. I just think of Bill Walton.
You're here in your head like the Conference of Champions.
I hear him saying that to this day, Texas State
is the latest to join the PAC twelve.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
My gosh, here's a general rule of thumb. This is
my rule. You might agree with this.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
If you can't name the nickname of a school, there's
a great chance they're trash.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Okay, that's the rule.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
So if I say to you, hey, notre dame, what
I would hope.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
You would say, oh, fighting Irish or whatever?
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Duke?
Speaker 2 (30:55):
What what's the blue devils? You can do this all day? Okay?
Texas State? The Texas State what.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Hmm, Well, I'm not really sure about it.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
So they're the Bobcats.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
If you didn't know that, there's a good chance that
they're that great. Nothing I really write home about. Well,
that's the school that just joined the PAC twelve. Like
if you look at this, what they were and what
they are now. So the members that are set to
join the conference in twenty twenty six, So we've got
Oregon State and Washington State. Those are the two that
(31:35):
have been holding on for dear life right till the
cavalry comes. So they needed eight schools at least to
keep this thing going. So they're adding in twenty twenty
six officially to go along with Oregon State and Washington State,
they're adding Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga non
(31:59):
football because they don't have that. Right, we've got schools
they don't have football joining the PAC twelve.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Good lord, how this thing is falling off.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
We've got San Diego State, Texas State, and Utah State.
So it is a state state, state, state state party.
It's a fiesta. The only one is Gonzaga. They should
switch to Gonzaga State right away. They should go for
the new PAC twelve. Man that is rough. So they
had to have eight football playing schools to meet NCAA
(32:30):
minimum for an FBS conference to still remain an FBS conference,
and they've done that. So PAC twelve sticking around. I
mean props to Oregon State in Washington State for holding on.
But you look at what they were. Think of these schools,
not just football wise, but basketball wise as well. Arizona,
(32:53):
Arizona State, CAL Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, USC, UC CLA, Utah, Washington.
All of those schools left and said audios, PAC twelve,
peace and went elsewhere. Acc Big twelve, you know, just
(33:15):
Big ten, just the Big ten. The four former PAC
twelve schools that joined the Big Ten, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Washington.
Think of the firepower of those schools football, basketball, and
now the PAC twelve is this we need to rebrand
(33:35):
it no longer the Conference of Champions. I don't know
what would be legitimate we could come up, so let's
spitball it. We can't go quite Conference of Chumps. I
feel like that's a little well, that might be a
little accurate, and I think about it a little disrespectful.
The Conference of I don't know, maybe there's something that
(33:56):
rhymes with champions that's the opposite of champions to be
the new nickname. I don't know. We can workshop it,
but it's slightly off the ground. All right, I want
to pay this off. Coming up next. Some great comments here,
one tweet and some scathing comments. Two athletes that are
ripping their own organizations. Good stuff. We'll close it out
(34:19):
in style. I'm Brian no In for Big Ben Mallor
right here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no In
for Big Ben Malor here on Fox Sports Radio. We're
broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. For over
forty years, Tirak has been helping customers find the right
tires for how, what and where they drive, ship fast
and free, backed by free road hazard protection, convenient installation
(34:42):
options like mobile tire installation tireraq dot com, the way
tire buying should be. Okay, So we got a couple
of athletes ripping their organizations. One is a former organization.
So it's not as juice, but pretty good. So we
had a pretty big NFL trade, right, we let off
(35:06):
the show with it. So the Steelers they get Jalen Ramsey,
the corner, they get tied end John new Smith, they
get a seventh round pick in twenty twenty seven, which
is odd. And the Dolphins they get Minka Fitzpatrick, the
stud safety. They get a seventh round pick in twenty
(35:26):
twenty seven the draft picks. This is weird. I I
don't understand, but anyway, it's a big trade. I think
it helps the Steelers. We've taken multiple calls, right, I
think it was three to nothing the militia in favor
of the Dolphins end of the trade Listen. Minka Fitzpatrick
(35:48):
is a fantastic safety. I loved when the Dolphins drafted him.
I hated when they traded him. Love Minka Fitzpatrick, so
it's fine with him going back there. But I gotta
be honest, I think the steel are better today than
they were before the trade. You gotta get another offensive
weapon for Aaron Rodgers. John new Smith's coming off a
(36:10):
monster season eighty eight catches, eight hundred and eighty four yards,
eight touchdown catches, it's a huge year. Is a pro bowler,
So you get him and Jalen Ramsey. To me, you're
better off with the combo. I'll take a combo platter
of Jalen Ramsey and John new Smith with the Steelers
(36:30):
over just Minka Fitzpatrick. I like Steers medium. I go medium.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Lorena you medium.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Rare, Yeah, medium rare, juicy, a little more flavor. Some
would argue, yeah, I would go combo platter, medium or
medium rare. With the Steelers with two players instead of one,
I think Minka and some callers pointed this out. The
militia said, if you're looking at just one player, Minka
(36:59):
Fitzpatrick is the best of those three. I don't disagree
with that. But you've got two that are pretty good
in Jalen Ramsey and John new Smith compared to just
one in Minka Fitzpatrick. That's advantaged Steelers.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
It just is.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
So I think they came out ahead in that deal. Now,
I bring this all up because former Dolphins running back
Raheem Moster, you're not fond of this trade from a
Dolphins perspective. So he retweeted a picture. It was a
picture announcing the trade of John hu Smith and uh
(37:43):
Raheem Moster. He wrote on Twitter. Hot take, be a
pro bowler on the Dolphins get treated like bleep is
what he put out there. He gets all these views,
he had like five million views on this Thing's a
ton of likes. You know how it goes.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
But that's his take.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
He's saying the Dolphins don't take care of their Pro bowlers,
don't take care of their big name players. Here's the deal, man,
if you pay a quarterback huge money, like the Dolphins
are paying to a Tongue Vailoa, you're gonna have to
cut corners. And that's exactly what they're doing. You can't
pay everybody, and I think an organization. Tua is a
(38:27):
good quarterback.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
He's good.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
He's put up numbers. He just hasn't been durable. He's
not a star. He's not a top ten player. I
would argue he's not a difference maker. That to me
is someone who can compensate for a weaker roster. That's
what you need to have. If you're paying that quarterback
huge money, he's got to compensate for the corners that
(38:49):
you have to cut with the roster. Tua's not that guy.
He's not a dude that's gonna compensate. And like mascara,
you know, he's not makeup where it's like, hey, you know,
my cheeks are a little jacked up, you know, my
foreheads a little bit. I would just put makeup, but
that's not Tua. Tua is not the makeup for the
Dolphins roster, and so I think they're kind of screwed.
(39:13):
Long story short, Now.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
This is even better.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
Luis Severino, former Yankees pitcher. He's not with the A's
and he's talking smack about this this interim stadium, if
you will. They're in Sacramento while the Las Vegas Stadium
is being built, and he came out and he's like,
it feels like a.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Spring training game when I'm playing there.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
He pointed out there's a lack of air conditioning, small crowds,
the clubhouse is in left field. He's like, it's really tough.
And then there was a USA Today column from Bob
Nightingale and he.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Reported an article.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
He reported that the A's can't wait to trade this
guy and his comments are agitating the organization. Ah, poor babies,
and sever Reno stuck to his guns. He's like, yeah,
my job is to tell the truth.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
I did.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
I don't like it. I like to be stuck to
his guns. I like hanging out with you militia too.
Have a good morning.
