Speaker 3 (00:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
All right, early morning hours, let's get after it. Appreciate
you checking out the show. We were broadcasting live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios. All Right. Something I think
is sort of funny. Every single year happens, like clockwork.
I'll get to a story that I don't think was
funny at all. First off, I don't know what it
(00:52):
is with the NBA Finals. I love the NBA Finals,
but you'll watch this year will be the same as
every single year, and I don't know why. They'll they'll
flash the schedule. They'll show this in like Game one
or Game two. Early in the series. They'll flash the
schedule for the whole series, and it'll be like whatever week,
(01:14):
It'll say Thursday, Sunday, maybe Wednesday of the next week,
and then it'll say, June thirteenth, June sixteenth, June nineteenth,
and unless you have the entire month of June memorized,
you'll have no idea what day of the week those
you know dates June thirteenth, June sixteenth, you have no
(01:38):
idea what days of the week those are. I don't know.
I don't know why they do it. If you see
them flash the schedule on your TV screen during game one,
just laugh and think of me, because I'm not at
the point where I'm yelling at clouds. I just sort
of shake my head at my TV and like, they
did it again. What is it with this a yearly
tradition where they just throw out the days for the
(02:01):
first couple of games Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, and then it's
the dates for the rest of them. June thirteenth, June sixteenth.
I would just suggest this, Why not put both when
I put the day and the actual date, and then
you would know if you didn't have the entire month memorized,
you would know when the days are. You know, you'd
(02:25):
have a fighting chance to remember, like, oh, okay, Thursday
the fifth, got it, Sunday the eighth, okay, Wednesday the eleventh.
Then we're on a Friday the thirteenth. Oh, Friday the thirteenth.
That's easy to remember, right, Like, why would they do that?
Why don't watch a guarantee garrote like Chuck Houston still
says Charles Barklay. If it says six thirteen and there's
(02:49):
no Friday the thirteenth, that's a missed opportunity right there.
I'm telling you right now, Melar militia. But they'll do it.
They always do it. Where's it going to be at ABC?
I'm guessing NBA Finals, the flash the schedule, and that's
what it'll be. Okay, before the serious things. I don't
want to be too serious here tonight. I found a
(03:10):
tweet very funny. While I'm talking about funny things, Brian
checked in and said, Yo, Brian, there was a time
he was staying up. He was staying up all night
betting on Australian and Japanese horse racing. That's when I
realized I might have a problem. Haha, that's what he said. Yeah, that,
(03:32):
yes's probably a cry for help right there. I would
say Australian and Japanese horse racing. Wow, you know I
didn't get into the table tennis craze when the pandemic
was a thing and there was nothing to bet on.
But I'd be lying to you if I said I
didn't follow it a little bit on an app from
(03:54):
time to time, like, man, I'm getting plus three point fifty,
this guy's only down by a couple of points. And
then I'll be like, but I don't know anything about this,
and I won't fire away, but I will I will
follow that a little bit. If it's just I just
you know, you look at live sporting events, what's going on?
What can you bet on live? And I'll see that
(04:16):
and I'll follow it along a little bit, as if
I'm gonna find any value on any I don't know
anything about this. I don't know who's competing. I don't
know who's good. I don't know who's legit underdog or
a legit favorite, or I have no idea. But I'll
watch it as if I follow it along on an app,
as if I'm going to locate some value somewhere. It's
(04:36):
not gonna happen. I'm crazy, So I'm just like Brian.
You know both named Brian. We're both crazy people. Okay,
I'll make this painless as painless as possible. I don't
want to do a whole thing on this, but I
do find something interesting about this story. So it was
it's the WNBA, it was the Chicago Sky there were
(04:58):
allegations of racist behave you're from the Indiana Fever crowd,
and so the WNBA, they came out, made an initial statement,
they did a whole investigation. They could not substantiate or
verify the alleged racist behavior. Okay, now there are a
(05:18):
couple of things to take away, But one of the
things I take away is from a league standpoint, as
I find very interesting. The WNBA came out initially, as
most leagues will do if players, if anybody within the
WNBA or any league has alleged racist behavior. As a league,
(05:41):
you have to have the back of your players, you
have to. But how you do that matters. How you
have your players backs matters, And the WNBA they didn't
allow themselves any outs. Their initial statement was so strong
it was as if they automatically believed the allegations and
(06:04):
they didn't leave themselves any outs. So I think for
any league it was an example of you might want
to approach it differently, where the WNBA basically came out
there are these allegations of racist behavior at the game,
and the WNBA came out was like, this isn't cool,
not cool, We won't accept any of this behavior. It's
(06:26):
not right for the WNBA, it's not right for society.
All of that is correct. I agree with that wholeheartedly.
It is not acceptable behavior. But the way you worded it,
you're acting as if this is a fact already and
not just an allegation. What I think you need to
do you need to have your players backs, but you
(06:46):
also need to leave yourself outs, right. It's what we
heard in rounders. Not to lighten this up to a
strange degree, but you always leave yourself outs, whether it's
you're playing Texas hold them, or whether you're a professional
league like the WNBA, the NFL, the NBA, what have you.
(07:09):
I think what makes a whole lot more sense as
a league if you're making an initial statement, okay, players
alleged there was racist behavior, this is very very important stuff.
Instead of saying things like not cool at all, we
won't tolerate this one bit, you're basically making it sound
like it's confirmed already that you believe this to be true.
(07:32):
What happens If you don't find evidence to substantiate it,
then you look stupid. Then you look like you believed
something that turned out to possibly not be the case.
So I think the initial statement matters a lot. So
how do you have your players back and still leave
yourself outs if you don't find evidence to confirm this.
(07:55):
I think you have to make a statement that's a
little bit it's strong, but it's a little bit vague
in a way, or it leaves you some wiggle room
where you say, we take these allegations with the utmost
of importance. Right, you've got your players back, they've alleged something,
all right, we've got you. We take this with the
(08:15):
utmost of importance, and we will work tirelessly to ensure
that there won't be racist behavior that isn't fit for
WNBA events or society in general. So you're saying, we
take these allegations as importantly as we possibly can, but
you're not wording in it away where you're basically saying, hey,
(08:37):
we believe this, we believe this to be true, and
it's just a matter of time until we prove it.
So just watch Like that's what the NBA initially did,
and I'm paraphrasing it, but that was what their initial
statement contained. And then if you can't find evidence, then
it's like, wow, man, you guys came out guns blazing
(08:58):
and you don't have evide. That's not a good position
to put yourself in. So that's a tricky thing. As
a league, you can't just you can't have this mundane,
complacent initial statement. If a player alleges there were racist
comments from the stands, you can't be like, yeah, we'll
(09:20):
check into it. If there's anything there, well then we'll
take action. But until then we we really can't say
anything yet. You know, like, that's not good enough. You
gotta have your players back. But I think that's how
you do it. You say, we take allegations like this
with the utmost of importance. We will work tirelessly to
(09:41):
ensure a safe environment for all involved, YadA YadA. But
you leave yourself some outs, you leave yourself some wiggle
room as far as the players. I think that, man,
you gotta be sure. I think you gotta be sure
if you're alleging things like that, that it was actually
(10:02):
racist behavior, because here's the harm in it is, if
you allege something was said, and there's no evidence to
substantiate it, to verify it, then it looks like you
just you confused something. And the real harm is whenever
(10:22):
something truly racist does happen, and eventually, sadly it will,
there will be people that think back to a story
like this and think, well, that wasn't verified. Is this
another case of misconstrued racism? That really isn't the you
know what I mean. You don't want someone who is
a true victim of racism for people to discount it
(10:44):
and not believe it because of a story that wasn't verified.
So that's the true harm of it too. But look, man,
I've had a couple of conversations with friends and I've
had to tell someone of my friends, I'm like, man,
you're so strong on you're acting as if racism just
doesn't apply. Ever, I'm like, that's not the case. Unfortunately.
(11:09):
You know, it's like it becomes trickier than it needs
to be to have a conversation about it. But you know,
some people are acting as if you know, we live
in utopia, and that's not the case. But if there's
anything to take away, I think it's the league initially,
whether it's the NFL, NBA, MLB, what have you if
(11:31):
there is an allegation like this. I think it's very
important to have the back of your players without putting
yourself behind the eight ball and making statements as if
you believe this is the truth, and then you don't
find evidence and all of a sudden you look like
you bought a story automatically before verifying it, and it's
(11:53):
you can't put yourself in a position like that. So
I thought the NBA came out too strong without knowing
what the outcome was going to be, and they looked bad,
look bad at the end of it, not having you know,
verified information. So that's the I don't know the serious
portion of it, but we'll we'll get back to the
(12:14):
fun momentarily. Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is
your phone number. Feel free to check in at the
no shows where you can find me. If you want
to tweet at me, always welcome to do so. We
will get to right around the corner. There is a
slogan that is really cool, but the story behind it
isn't nearly as disrespectful as it might appear. So I'll
(12:38):
give you a couple of details on that interesting story
on the way. I'm Brian though in for Big Ben Malor.

I swear I is this? What's the playlist called.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Mary music Brian put me onto?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yeah, like the the crazy metal that the Psychopath No suggested,
you know, that's the official title of it right there.
But yeah, you got a healthy mixture right there, some Slayer,
some some Lamb of God. Gotta have that go Joe, Okay,
nice and it's like there's no lyrics on this one.
(13:51):
Where do you find this? Like the clean Wow? Very nice,
very well done, straight for the one of my favorite
Lamb of God songs right there, it's like two minutes
Randy BLI is just yelling, very upset about things in general.
Great song slow. Sometimes those slow like nasty it's even darker.
(14:17):
I love those type of songs, very nicely done. I
can't believe I we went Lamb of God and Blake
Shelton in the show. That's what you get, get a
mixed bag how it goes. I want to get into
the phones here momentarily. Let me pay this off real fast,
because there's a slogan that I think is really cool,
(14:38):
but the story behind it not as compelling. So Tyrese Halliburton,
he had a very rough Game five on Thursday night,
Pacers lost to the Knicks. He came right back to earth,
had this insane game four, huge numbers, thirty point, triple
double zero turnovers. It's the first time in NBA playoff
(15:00):
history that has ever happened. Thirty point triple double zero turnovers,
first time ever a Tyre's Haliburton game four. Game five
on Thursday not nearly as good. I scored eight points
on two of seven shooting, had six assists, two rebounds,
didn't make a three like a shell of his Game
four performance. But anyway, there have been a lot of people,
(15:25):
some players, some fans that have called Tyrese Haliburton overrated.
So the slogan is overrate that you see Pacer fans
wearing T shirts that say that Puma has unveiled Tyre's
Halliburton's signature logo with their overrate that T shirts. It's
(15:47):
a whole thing. Now, the story behind it is kind
of funny. So the Athletic they reached out to NBA
players and asked them numerous questions. One was who's the
most overrated player in the league. So they got ninety
responses on that question, and only thirteen NBA players wound
(16:10):
up voting for Halliburton. Thirteen guys in the NBA, Saya
is the most overrated guy, and so he ends up
winning that category, quote unquote winning if there is such
a thing. He's in first place as the most overrated
NBA player according to thirteen other NBA players. It just
(16:31):
feels like, you know, you see the T shirt, he's overrated,
that most overrated player. Well, who said he's the most
overrated NBA players? His peers. Wow, the NBA players are
saying he's the most overrated. We got a juicy story
that turns out there were thirteen dudes that said, I
don't know. If I got to pick somebody, I guess
(16:53):
I'll pick him. I don't know. It seems way more salacious,
like wow, the NBA calls him out and it's really
not quite like that. But hey, don't let the truth
get in the way of a great narrative. They're having
a lot of fun with the overrate, that slogan and
T shirts. But I'll tell you what, man, he's got
(17:13):
to bring it in game six a lot better than
Game five, or the overrated moniker is just gonna grow.
You can't go from He was sensational in game four,
huge numbers. I'll get him for you here, like thirty
two points. When he put up in game for thirty
(17:34):
two points, fifteen assists, twelve rebounds, five to three pointers,
zero turnovers. That was in game four. Game five on
Thursday night in a loss, eight points, six assists, two rebounds,
no made three pointers, zero turnovers as well, if you're
scoring at home, but a fraction of the numbers he
(17:55):
put up in game four. That's one of the reasons
people say Haliburton is overrated. I think overrated goes a
little bit too far, But I will say this certainly inconsistent.
Here's the definition, Like people struggle with the overrated underrated
thing quite a bit. Here's what you have to start with.
(18:15):
What is the mainstream opinion of a player, good or bad?
The mainstream opinion of Tyrese Haliburton are people left and
right just singing his praises. This guy is amazing, He's
a beast. This dude is the best point guard in
the NBA bar nutt. Do you hear people saying that
all day long? No, you don't, Like you need to
(18:35):
have that as the recipe for an overrated player. You
need people far and wide singing this player's praises. He's unbelievable.
No one says that about Tyrese Halliburton. There aren't you know, people,
person have to person, have to person saying those things.
You need to have that to have an overrated candidate.
(18:59):
So well, I don't see how he's even a candidate
to be overrated, because it's not like he's getting bouquets
of flowers left and right. You need that, like for
a moment there, you know that second season for Brock
Purdy when they made it to the Super Bowl, people
are falling all over themselves like, oh my gosh, this quarterback,
(19:21):
and it's like, no, not quite to that degree. He
was overrated, but you have to have that. So I
don't even think Halliburton is highly rated to begin with,
to be a legitimate candidate to be overrated, so I
disagree with that, but he is inconsistent, There's no doubt
(19:42):
about it. I don't know why Tyrese Haliburton doesn't stay
as aggressive as he was in Game four. I really
don't understand why. There are times where he is he's
really pushing pace, he's finding his guys, he's setting the
table for them, he's looking to score. He's aggressive, and
then there are games where he's just not even looking
for a shot. He's like, I don't feel like shooting tonight.
(20:06):
I don't feel like scoring. Not really my thing. It's
like what. So he's inconsistent. He can be maddening at
times because of the inconsistency, but I don't think he's
a strong candidate to be overrated. It's not highly rated
to begin with. You need that. It's a prerequisite to
be overrated. All right, let's get out to the phone,
(20:27):
shall We've got sir scratch off. He wants to chime
in here, sir scratch off, My guy, what is going on?
You're on Fox Sports Radio?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Hey, what's going on there?
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Brian?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Not much? Man? How are things with you?
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Man?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I tell you what I've been. I've been following you
here where you go. You know that for a long time.
I always enjoyed shooting you a call and see what's
going on. How's that doing?
Speaker 2 (20:51):
He's good, man. He came out, came to visit a
couple of weeks ago, so it was really good to
see him. He's doing all right.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
I said, hey, man, say what you never know what
you got going on? And let me tell you why
I say this. You never know what you got going
on here on this radio station. Be driving all these
years and listens radio station until something bad happens and
you're seeing people with prayers and weren't thinking about you
and stuff like that. The battle militia ain't been nothing
(21:19):
but the best. In the last couple to three days, man,
it's been crazy, and I want to thank every one
of those out there and all this tour X wherever
you want to call it. Man, My mother died Wednesday, dude,
and I just be going wild thinking about my mother.
And now the last couple of nights I've been leaving town,
I had to go buy the funeral home and she's
(21:39):
gonna be laying there till like next Monday before we
you know, mar her Tuesday up in Missouri, you know.
So it's one of them things these Madam Milita has
been really something else, man, And I appreciate everybody has
got me in your prayers, you know, because that's six
kids we lost our mother, man, and no daddy years ago.
And I'll tell you what, it's crazy not to have
no parents now, you know.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
M Yeah, Man, I hear you. I you know, I'm
with the militia on that.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Man.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
I'm sorry, man I My condolence is that's that's rough.
So you're in my prayers as well, for sure.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
You know, you go twenty five years your mother, your
mother's a breastcatcher free and then all of a sudden
what kills her cancer? You know, after all those years
and then she ends up this long and livery and
the just they give her a year when they first
held her about four days to my birthday in March.
That's what I got for my birthday present, and.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
My mother is gonna die and then she dies exactly
about two months. But unway, let me take something to you.
I heard a guy say, we don't talk about the Dolphins,
you know, yet you talk about Kua. I call him Kua,
That's what I call him. You know, he was in
college football and he played all them big games. He
played all them wins and stuff. But you know, I
(22:52):
don't think they really still you know, I'm a big
l a Rams they go tensee ball fan, but I
still don't think they got what they thought they was
going to get out.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Of him, and he never really did everything that they
really wanted. I don't believe because he's never got that
Super Bowl and you get old Hurts out there what
he did, and he got schwucked around. He went to
Oklahoma and he got the NFL.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
Look what he did.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
But he's already had a super Bowl win. Nobody ever
put the money on him. You know, it'll be beat
the whole modey can't see the cheeks. But I think
I think totally. I think it's time for him to retire,
and I think it's time for him to go home.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
I mean, what do you think about me? I really do.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
I mean, he's winning games, but you can't keep him
well man, you know.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Yeah, yeah, now I hear you, sir, scratch Off. I
appreciate you checking in man, good stuff. I'll tell you
what I like the point that you made. Think about
both Tua and Jalen Hurts at Alabama and of course
we all remember National Championship game. Jalen Hurts doesn't have
a great first half. Nick is like, hurts out Tua
(24:02):
in yeah, we know your ice cold, but it's just
the National Championship Game, no big deal. And what is
Tua do? He leads Alabama to this unbelievable win against Georgia.
Tua throws the winning touchdown pass to Jalen Hurts teammate
Davonte Smith. How crazy is that? And yeah, look at
(24:22):
them in the pros. At that time, you're thinking, wow,
Tua off the bench, he's like, hey, hold my clipboard,
goes in there, does what he does in the National
Title game, biggest stage we got in college football. And
he responds. And there are a lot of people, me included,
at the time they think Tua is legit. And look
(24:45):
at him in the NFL, where he's been good at times,
there's no doubt. He just can't stay upright. You can't
count on him to play seventeen games season in, season out.
And Jalen Hurts right off a Super Bowl win and
did his thing on the biggest stage. You know, he
played really well. So yeah, hey, listen, you can play
(25:06):
the supporting cast game to a degree. I mean it
does factor in. Eagles have arguably the best offensive line
in football for a number of years. That is not
the case with the Miami Dolphins. But in terms of
weapons to throw to, tu Us had enough. You have
John new Smith who is a Pro Bowl tight end,
(25:28):
Tyreek Hill, Jalen Waddle, some running backs that can take
pressure off you. H Chan has been a good running back,
not top five, not elite, but good enough. So it's
not like the cupboard is bear in terms of supporting
cast for Tua. And I do like Jalen Hurts what
(25:48):
he has to work with. He's got a lot to
work with. Man, when you've got aj Brown and Deavonte
Smith and Dallas Goddard and you got a lot around you.
Saquon Barkley was un believable last season. Best offensive line
in football, that's a lot. That's a lot. But at
the end of the day, Jalen Hurts has done enough
(26:10):
to put that team in position to win a Super Bowl.
They got there once against the Chiefs and lost, and
they got there again against the Chiefs and won this
last time. You got to give him his flowers. If
you're comparing him to tu Yeah, he's had a more
successful NFL career thus far. I don't think. I don't
think Tua has to retire, but I get why people
(26:30):
would say that it's one of these deals. Man, He's
a smart guy. He knows what he's signing up for,
he knows the risks that he's taking, and he's okay
with taking him right now, I hope he can remain upright.
I hope he can remain healthy, and because that's been
one of the biggest knocks against him is he just
(26:52):
can't stay healthy. And when you can't count on a
quarterback to legitimately give you a chance at seventeen starts
season in and season out due to injury, that's a
tough thing. Tough thing for a team because it's twofold.
With Tua we were talking about I was comparing him
to Brock Purty. Right, the Dolphins and their roster situation
(27:14):
because they're paying Tua so much money. It's comparable to
the Niner situation now that they're gonna be paying brock
Purty so much money. And the thing that's different between
those two quarterbacks is TWOA has been banged up way more.
And so it's the production for Tua is good, not elite,
and you're paying him elite money, and the health of
(27:37):
Tua is not even average if you look at it
collectively in the NFL his career. So that, man, when
you're missing that many games on top of not providing
elite production and you're getting paid elite money, that's a
double whammy right there. There's no doubt about that. Eight seven,
(27:57):
seven ninety nine on Fox is your numb We got
our guy Marcel in Brooklyn. He's up next. What's going on, Marcel?
You're on Fox Sports Radio. Everything good with you, Bryan Nolah.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
I can't believe I really miss you so good morning.
And boy oh boy, those Nicks not eliminated yet. Oh
what a win last night in Game five of the
Eastern Conference Finals, and the Gordon Mecca is going crazy,
(28:32):
I mean really crazy. Can you believe it?
Speaker 2 (28:36):
They're going crazy, Marcel. They're giving it their best effort
for the right to get smashed by the Thunder. You know,
I'll give them credit.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Oh yeah, we'll see if the Nicka Boxers will turn
things around against the Oklahoma City Thunder, if they got
to be eliminated against the Pacers. And then there's in
O KC. Marianna and Brianna. Good morning to you. Oh Brianna,
I'm gonna say you call me. I can guarantee it
that you are my newest Nicks fan ambassador. What do
(29:06):
you have to say?
Speaker 4 (29:07):
She actually stepped away like two seconds. No, she did,
she had to new potty break.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Oh no, real, the timing unbelievably Yeah, well of all times.
All right, she'll be back momentarily, Marcel.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
But before we straight to Brianna with some put the
microphones together, let's do some food picks for you listeners,
because there's a new dawn and it's a new day,
so let's get into it. Ben, Lorena and Coopti are
in Vancouver. But Brian Nole starting with you. What you have.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
You know, I'm gonna say, Marcel, let's see Big Nick's
victory for you. Yeah, you wanted to celebrate in style
with I'll go with chicken breasts one night for chicken breas.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
I've got a chicken breast it is, and I put
the mixed match. It is mate for you, Marianne. What
do you have? And I know you got socials as well.
I will you will explain to me after the food picks.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
M not gonna lie. Maybe do cooble sliders. I'm vegetarian though,
so yeah, maybe dobs.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
Ooh, not a mixed match. It is not a mixed match, Marianne.
But thank you though, hope your socials will go to
connect to me instead. If you want to say, all right,
Brianna Knicks fan ambassador the food pitch it is, what
do you have? My friend?
Speaker 4 (30:38):
She's still not back yet. Man, what not to drink
a lot of fluids?
Speaker 5 (30:46):
Ooh, my own mind path.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Paths? All right? So what's the outcome over here, Marcelle?
Speaker 5 (30:56):
Well, what chicken breath? Brian Nole? You win? There is
no L in your name instead chicken breast. Finally make
chess for you.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Appreciate that, Marcel. That's good, very nice. You go barbecue
sauce on top. What do you do?
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Well? I have some chicken patties with catch up and
the bread. It's really taping.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Marcel. Let me ask you a question. Do you ever
go you ever go a one on a non conventional
like non steak? You ever go a one on chicken
breast or a one on like baked potato or anything?
You go crazy with that?
Speaker 5 (31:34):
Every chicken breads on a barbecue? Wow? Yeah, use a
one barbecue. When I was in a barbecue with my
family's it's really been good times over the years. Wow,
I'm impressed. All right, all right, focus game six Nick
(31:58):
Paycers in Indianapolis tomorrow. The Knicks will look to tie
things up before Indiana will eliminate my team and Brianna,
So I had to say I had to go with
the Knicks.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Brian, Uh, Pacers. There's gonna be a healthy win for
the Pacers. We're talking possible double digits over here.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
And of course the Battle of the nineties NBA style
Regie Miller looked Trels pretty while many others over the past.
That is Mary Anne.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
I'm going with the Halle band here, So I'm going
with Pacers.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
All the Yeah, there's boo Brianna.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
She's still not back yet, but I know she's gonna go.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
Next, Well, she's going with Pacers. Me and Brianna will
go with the Knickerbockers. Game six Tomorrow, eight eastern, five Pacific.
So if they if the Knicks of I, they will
have to tie things up while you guys gonna eliminate it.
(33:01):
How's that?
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Yeah, that sounds good, Marcel. We'll get after it, man.
Hope you enjoyed the game, Bud, Yes.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
Thank you, and have a great weekend, Hope, Ben, Lorena
and Cook. We go back early Sunday and late Monday
to start the week.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Absolutely. All right, Marcel, you take care, but good to
hear from you. Man. There he is, Marcel in Brooklyn,
very nicely done, good stuff. Yeah, all right, Game six,
like you said, Saturday night. Again, thankfully in a way,
the Knicks won because we have playoff action this weekend.
(33:37):
If the Pacers won, we'd have nothing Saturday Sunday. I
don't know when the Stanley Cup Final begins. I need
to check that out real quick, because the conference finals
are all over, now, totally over. We've got to wait
until Wednesday, I believe. Wow, gotta wait till Wednesday for
Game one. Panthers Oilers running it back. I don't know
(33:58):
if you know nhlans unless you're a Panthers or Oilers fan,
the random diehard NHL fan. How excited are you that
it's a rematch of last year? You know, some people
might be excited about it. Others are like, yeah, yawn,
might be interesting with two different teams or at least
one new team. I will see if the Panthers can
do it again, if the Oilers can get revenge. I
(34:20):
was thinking about this randomly today. I was at the gym.
But I guess the last time in the NBA we
had so repeat finals and a different champion, would it
not be the Warriors beating the Calves?
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Right?
Speaker 2 (34:34):
So think about that crazy three to one come from
behind win from the Calves. Wasn't it the Warriors the
next year that beat the Calves? I think I have
that right. So it's like the Warriors did it to
the Calves last the Calves did it to the Warriors.
And also the Spurs did it to Miami, Like Miami
(34:55):
beat them one year and then the next year the
Spurs crushed. Remember Lebron had the he had the cramps
and all that. In Game one, Spurs went on to
win anyway coming up next. This is one of the
dumbest criticisms I've heard in a long time, and I
(35:16):
just want to put another story on your radar. I'm
not calling it. I don't even think there's a chance
it would happen, but this would be the ultimate walkoff moment.
That's on the way. I'm Brian no In for Big
Ben Malor. Keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no In for
(35:39):
Big Ben Mallor. We're broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. For over forty years, tire Rack has been

(36:01):
I cannot remember this guy's name for the life of me. Mary,
who is just gonna get this is a Josh Turner.
This is a staple. Mary and I were doing the
same weekend shift. The last song before the last segment.
This is this is like the country version version of
Closing Time. Remember that song Closing Time. Remember that it
(36:24):
was like the country version of that love this song.
It's fantastic. I don't know why I can't remember. I
don't either. I don't know, but it became tradition. It's beautiful,
It's absolutely beautiful. I don't know why I can't remember.
Josh Turner. I'll remember that for the next three minutes,
and the next time we do a show, Mary, I'll
be like, what's this guy's name again? Yeah? Man, I
(36:47):
don't know what it is. Okay, let me put a
couple of things on your radar. So the first thing is, yeah,
I don't know if on your radar is the right description.
But people are talking about out Shay Gildess Alexander being
a free throw merchant is what they're saying. It sounds
very fancy. What does that even mean. It's a guy
(37:08):
who basically is very smart at drawing files, right, these
subtle movements. Maybe he kind of jumps into the defender,
he uses the defender's momentum and draws contact in a
sly way. And he's getting criticized for this. This is
the dumbest criticism, in my opinion. What is he supposed
(37:29):
to do? Let me get this straight. SGA is driving
to set up a mid range shot or driving to
the basket, and he can feel a defender reaching. He
knows that he could just go up and attempt a
shot and draw a file easily, so he's not supposed to.
(37:52):
I don't understand the criticism. Why would you not use
the strength just because you don't like that he's drawing
a bunch of files and getting to the free throw line.
He's just should not do it. That makes no sense
at all. I don't understand the criticisms of SGA. I
get it if you're like, not my cup of tea,
don't like it. It's annoying. Okay, fine, And you could
(38:15):
say that's basically what people are saying with the free
throw merchant thing, but it's becoming such a trending thing
to criticize him for getting to the free throw line.
It's like, what are you talking about right now? He's
effective doing that. The name of the game is dunks,
free throws, and threes. If you're setting up free throws
(38:37):
on the regular, why would you be calling that out
that it's something that should not be called out at all.
I don't get that. It's silly. To me, it's a
waste of time. Now let me put something on your
radar that might not be on your radar at all. Now,
don't confuse this with me calling my shot. Just think
about the possibility of this nightmare scenario. So my Dolphins,
(39:03):
they might be interested in trading tight end John new
Smith to the Steelers. That's according to Adam Schefter. Let's
play the little, a little what if game. What if
the Steelers do get John new Smith and they have
Pat Fryarmoth Mooth. They have him good one two tight
end combination. You got DK metcalf right, You've got some
(39:26):
weapons offensively. It seems like a matter of time that
they're gonna sign Aaron Rodgers. Just on Aaron Rodgers time
because he's dating football. He's married to himself, he's dating football,
so we're on his time, Steelers just waiting around for him.
What if Aaron Rodgers goes there and what if he
has big success. I know you might be rolling your
(39:46):
eyes right now, but don't forget. They're always above five hundred.
They make the playoffs left and right. What if with DK,
John new Smith Mooth Rogers, you got a great pass
rush sure and TJ. Watt. What if they had big
success like that would be the ultimate walk off moment
(40:07):
after all of this. If Rogers has big success and
maybe his final season, that would be a nightmare scenario.
But just want to throw it out there. Everybody, have
a good morning. We'll see you.
