pretend like week here about Doug Gottlieb Show. You can
get in touch with us at Gottlieb Show on Twitter
eight seven seven six three six eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. Hopefully you're listing on your local terrestrial affiliate.
Terrestrial means like radio, regular radio dial. Terrestrial radio is
(00:45):
a very much inside the Beltway inside radio to rest
you like, do you have an extraterrestrial radio If I
don't have a trested radio, No, that's like a m
FM s trestri XM radio. If you didn't know, we're
on Serious XM channel eight three. The first two hours
of the three hour show, and the entire show is
on the I Heart Radio app and anything you might
have missed from the entire week, some of our best
(01:06):
interviews or if you miss some of this show and
you want to listen to it, download the Doug Gotlip
Show podcast best of or entire show, and you can
do that going to uh iTunes or whether you down
wherever you download podcasts. You know, you know, one of
the things that I find interesting about sports is how
we copy politics, and we copy politics in a terrible way.
(01:30):
Political discourse is one to which you have to pick
a side, right, like either now you're and there's kind
of three sides now, right, because there's still are people
like Trump and there are actually Republicans are like, oh,
he's kind of Republicans sort of we don't agree with everything,
but like cool, we're in power now. And then there's
there's the v C S tomes, whereas I think a
(01:53):
lot of us are like, well, I don't know, there's
I really don't like this stuff and I kind of
like this, like can't I like this part? Not like no,
you must pick a side now. And that's what we've
done with discussion of sports in this country. Right, Guys
either good or he's bad, He's either better or worse.
Jordan's or lebron K d or lebron Warriors or Calves, Right,
(02:19):
sec or everybody else in football, tom Brady is the best,
or Tom Brady is part of politics system. There's not
like gray area in between. But the other thing we
do in sports that copies the political arena is this,
we use stories to promote our agenda instead of just
(02:43):
talking about the story. Deateline Louisville, Kentucky where Rick Patino's
Louisville Cardinals are gonna be on probation for four years.
This is two years removed from when they took themselves
out of the n c A tournament because the scandal
broke that they were using strippers to both strip and
(03:06):
sleep with recruits and the recruits guardians sometimes parents, sometimes
his guardians, and on campus visits when they had these
parties for them. And by the way, if there's a
stripper who gets paid to have sex with somebody, she's
no longer a stripper. No, no, no, she's a stripper
who got paid. No, she's a prostitute. I hate to
be that guy. It's the world's oldest profession, but let's
(03:27):
at least call it like it is. No, I'm sorry,
Like if you're an I G model who goes on
dates and sleeps with guys and gets paid to do.
So you're not an Instagram model. Okay, you're an escort
who has an Instagram page. I hate to be that guy,
but I'm just telling you what because I G model.
(03:50):
Apparently I didn't know this translates too many people to
be escorttrappers. Uh my, I g pay at gottlieb Show.
I know, I know, I got a lot of sex appeal. Okay,
me and my kids, my dog, my cat. But I
am not for sale. I just want to point that
one out. You know what. It It depends how many zeros. Like,
(04:12):
Let's be honest, my wife be like how much fine go?
You know, two commas? Maybe three commas? I'm in. So
here's what happens. Louisville goes on probation and they're gonna
sit Rick Pettino down for five A, C C games
and they can be a probation like Tenny five of
four years, and they're gonna takeaway wins, which is all.
(04:36):
It's this most bizarre thing, like remember when Louisville won
a national championship. No they didn't, but they might not
take back that national champe Where they should do is
take back that terrible call on Trey Burke where he
blocked Peyton Siva's shot. They called a foul. Change the
whole game, all right, forget that that's promoting my own agenda.
I hate that we use it to here's what happens,
(04:57):
instead of pointing out that this is in the conversation
of the most embarrassing stories in the history of college sports. Again,
I didn't say worse. I didn't say most despicable. Right,
you got Jerry Sandusky, you got Baylor, either of the Baylor's,
the Baylor now with the college football and and and
(05:18):
covering up alleged rapes, and you know that. I mean
that stuff is awful, is disgusting, is vile. Or you
go back to Patrick Dennehy who was shot by Carlos Dotson.
One bailor player shoots another bailor player and then the coach,
head coach blames it on the dead kid for all
the problems within the program, says he was selling drugs.
(05:39):
Like those are more despicable stories. But if I told
you the entirety of the Louisville story, let me run
it down for a little bit here, Okay, Rick Pettino,
who's their Hall of Fame coach and is a great
basketball coach. But Rick Pottino previously admitted to having sex
with a woman not his wife, in an Italian restaurant
after hours, closed door. Yeah, by the way, at embarrassment,
(06:02):
what do you say? Less like fifteen seconds? Excuse me?
That's t m I, but not really positive t am I.
She gets pregnant, then has an abortion, then she starts
dating one of his henchman, gets married, starts blackmailing Rick Pettino.
It actually goes to trial. That's how he found out
about it. Like way way light, There's more, there's more.
(06:23):
Who's our college football coach Bobby Petrino, who, of course
was job job chasing and meeting with schools under cover
of darkness, not telling anybody when he's at Auburn. He
was at Louisville. Then he goes the Atlanta Falcons. Then
he quits the Falcons before the first season. He's even
completed by leaving a note in players lockers and then
escaping to Arkansas. While at Arkansas, he hires and promotes
(06:47):
a like twenty five year old female to be his
fingers now recruiting coordinator. She coordinates her way to being
his mistress while being engaged to a strength coach. Also
on Arkansas Half, he gets into a motorcycle accident, has
the neck brace one of the all time like photos
in the history of sports, his neck brace road rash,
(07:09):
and by Petrino lying through his teeth about the fact
that he had a woman on the back and that
happened to be his mistress. That's their football coach. So
Patrina's a football coach. Patino had a sex scandal. Now
they have uh prostitutes helping recruit student athletes and their
guardians or parents on campus in a dormitory named after
(07:34):
Patino's dead brother in law. And instead of saying like, hey,
this is embarrassing. You know what, any punishment that you
give us, we understand. We want to do right by it.
We want to change who we are. This is not
who we are. This was the response from Rick Petino.
You know some ideas. I've had a lot of faith
(07:54):
in the m C double A and have reacted that
way accordingly as a head basketball coach. In the belief
in their rules. I feel not like everybody here. Not
only is it unjust unfast over the tops of severe,
but I've lost personally. I've lost a lot of faith
in the n c double A and everything I've stood
full in the last thirty five years with what they
(08:16):
just did. So and Patino is not the only one.
Jay Billis goes on ESPN, they're out of their purview?
What do they goes to lawyer Larry Clay Travis on
our network starts crushing them, who are like, you know,
this is a dishonest organization, the n c A, and
goes through all the like, no, stop being politicians. Stop
using a story to promote your anti n c A agenda.
(08:40):
Instead say like, hey, how does RiPP Patino still have
a job, or how does his boss Tom Juriss it's
still have a job. How do they still have a
basketball program? Like that's embarrassing, that's embarrassing. You've got like
sixteen seventeen year old kids, and I understand, like sixteen
seven year old basketball players or not kids, Like we
(09:00):
think they're not some you know, they're not some unpollinated flower.
I get it, but not all. Some are in fact
very shy. Some are just want to play basketball. Look,
some are not. But either way, it is not okay.
It is not okay to have paid prostitutes stopping basketball
(09:24):
players who are either under not even matter if they're underage,
it just makes a better point that they're underage. Or
how about the fact that their dad's or their guardians
are like with them, like that's it's not okay on
campus in a basketball dorm, like the story is not
lost face, and he's like, no, that's your agenda. The
(09:46):
story is louvoy is a complete and utter disgrace and
they should thank they're lucky stars that the NC didn't
pour kerosene around the whole thing and just light a
match and say, hey, start all over. You just made
a fool of all the other member institutions and oh yeah,
by the way, like we championed your values and your
(10:06):
virtues when you won a national championship. How about the
fact that I got a phone call after they won
the national championship. I was in the set of the
final four. I was the only one who brought up
and I did so in very light fashion. I was like, hey,
it's pretty amazing considering what Rick Pettino went through personally
a couple of years ago to recover from it and
win a national championship. That's all I said. Why did
(10:27):
you bring that up? Why do you have to bring
negative like because that's the story. The story is not
the n c A. The story is not players, The
story is not promoting an agenda outside of just react
to Louisville basketball. Whatever punishment they received, Let's be honest,
(10:50):
it wasn't really enough. And taking the story and making
into I hate the n c A, which is actually
just a group of member institution is embarrassing. But it's
par for the course. It's what we do. It's what
happened in politics, it's what apparently happens now in sports.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug gott
(11:12):
Leap Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app. There's
some contempt now between the Warriors and the Calves. Do
you guys see the victory parade and I hate victory parade.
They don't get him. I don't get the guy who
goes to the victory parade, Like, what's the point, sorry, sir,
can come in today victory parade? Huh? He didn't play
(11:34):
in the game. And you watch the game and you're
gonna go take a day off work to go see
somebody else celebrating a game that you didn't ext participate
in or win to make any sense to me. So
Draymond Green wore a shirt that said Quickie instead of
quick and Quicken loans that's Dan Gilbert's um company, but
(11:55):
instead it's Quickie. So I guess he meant it was
quick series, right, it was a quick series quick Key.
Lebron James on Instagram took a picture and the uh,
the comment was, that's what she said. Now he said,
that's what she said. Huh. He shouldn't have said huh.
He should have done back to that's what she said.
(12:16):
And then I like a laughing emoji, Right, that would
have been that's a really good That's what she said, Quickie.
That's what she said. Love it. So Draymond Green comes
back at Lebron, who instagrammed a photo of him already
in the weight room. Were already in the training room
getting ready for next year and at Money twenty three Green,
that's Draymond Green tweets out them dubs finally made him
(12:37):
go bald. Congrats at King James. That's a hard core troll. Um.
I do think that's below the belt, like it's obvious
Lebron's got something going on up top, and it's not
really good, and nobody particularly I mean maybe, like, look,
my hair is not great like it used to be.
I still like getting my sides faded, So you know,
(12:59):
maybe me giving him advice isn't good advice. But I
do think he is a pretty good looking dude, Like
why couldn't he Why couldn't he shave his head and
go bald, like why he loved Michael Jordan, Like Jordan
was bald, like he's black, he can go bald and
nobody thinks anything of it. I don't get it burgardless
of which um going bald. It's like one of those
things that you just you don't talk about, right for
(13:23):
whatever reason, you don't talk about it. So this almost
ra almost feels like a Twitter award, isn't it. It's
like an Instagram war, or we called a Twitter war.
I like that, that's what she said. I don't think that.
I don't think that you should go you should talk
about a dude going bald? One, two, three, four, I
(13:47):
declare a Twitter four. This is good for the NBA.
Like the series was over too quickly, but now like
you're starting to make kind of some personal comments. And
look the Calves done the the Halloween party right with
the Golden State Warriors tombstones, like they've each done it
to one another. It's fairly innocent fun. And I guess
(14:10):
I don't mind if a guy talks about somebody being bald, Like,
all right, look, if you're okay with me, you're talking
about me being bald, and I'm okay with talking about
how you used to be fat. And then where does
it end? Music? Are you? Are you okay with Draymond
Green talking about Lebron going involved? I think it's good
(14:32):
sports trash talk. Like if it's you and your buddies,
someone who you're actually good friends with and you're kind
of just sitting around hanging out and you start jabbering
and you go bald comment, that's messed up. But if
they're actually sports rivals who compete, I got no problem
with it. They're actually sports rivals who compete, you have
no problem with it. Mm hmm. It's close to the line.
(14:58):
It's it's just it's just above the line, below the line.
It's like the family stuff you guys. You guys know
the things you that are taboo that you once you
talk about them at a couple's dinner, the dinner completely
changes and everybody starts sharing stuff right like uh, like baldness,
boob jobs, um in like infertility or vitia fertilization. Right,
(15:21):
those are all kind of the things that that we
all talked about our kids, you know, like our the babysitter,
Like how much you how much you don't like the babysitter?
How your wife always overpays the babysitter. Have I ever
told you, guys the three rules to being a babysitter?
I remember them. John, you don't remember him. I can
hear him again, if that helps. Ryan, you want to
(15:43):
take a shot. It was kids have to be asleep
by the time I get home. Number one, no dishes
left over. It's pick up after yourself, A pick up
after yourself, and pick up as are my kids, right, Like,
I don't I'm not paying you to be a house key,
but I'm also not paying you to sit on my
couch watching Netflix, texting your boyfriend when the house is
(16:05):
a mess, like pick things up. And then the last
one is once I pay you to get out? Yes,
g tf O my wife had a drink and a half.
It's the perfect amount. I got like it's fifteen minutes
before she gets sleepy. Okay, and and then um and
then things go but things go bad, like if I
have to drive you home, get in the car. I'll
(16:26):
drive you home. If you're getting picked up, I hope
you already Ubert or your or your boyfriend's ready to
pick you up, both of your mom's And if you're
driving home, you got your money, you gotta go. We
rules the babysitting. But these are things you can talk about,
but I don't think like you don't just offer up
out of nowhere. Dudes going bald guys get super super
sensitive about that. Be sure to catch live editions of
(16:48):
The Doug gott Leaves Show weekdays at three pm Easter
noon Pacific. We are less than a week away from
the NBA Draft. You were just listening to a promo.
Me and Chris Brussor are gonna have our own draft
show uh here on National on Fox Sports Radio over
on five seventy, which is our l A affiliate, the
home of the Clippers. Legendary Laker James Worthy is going
(17:10):
to help out Petros and money and uh and Fred Rogan,
Rodney Pete, all those guys they cover l A sports.
It's a it's a really interesting time in Los Angeles.
As you've got the Clippers who are trying to break
away from the Lakers and maybe maybe build a new
Arenaits still like six seven years away from potentially being built.
You have what happens with the Clippers and free agency,
(17:32):
this upcoming officeas and any of the Lakers who Mattic
Johnson has taken over and he's trying to kind of
gut them, if you will, and start over. They have
the number two pick in the upcoming drop. Who better
to touch base with than Magic Johnson's former running mate. Uh.
He was as good a big game players has ever been,
going back to college win the national championship of course,
(17:52):
to the pros where he was Big game James Worthy
part of four championship teams and he joins us on
the Doug Outlup Show on Fox Sports. Trader James, how
are you, Doug? How are you? Buddy? All good? Here?
I'm great, I'm I'm wondering your reaction to the NBA
Finals is a guy who watches the game differently as
a former great pro U. What were your thoughts like
(18:14):
if you could sum them up on what we saw
in the NBA Finals. Well, I think what you saw
in the NBA finals uh this year is you saw
the new prototype team, a superb team with undefined I mean,
it's just the talent that they possessed and the pressure
(18:39):
that they were able to put on a pretty good
Cleveland Cavaliers team with Lebron and Collie, Irvin and and Love.
But in order for the Cleveland Cavaliers to beat Golden State,
they had to play a perfect game. So it's like
they almost had to play four perfect games and then
(19:01):
that was no guarantee. Uh. The addition of Durant really
made them almost unbeatable. So what you're seeing now is
you know, you're seeing the rest of the NBA teams.
They're saying, how do we gear up to compete against
what is now considered to becoming a dynasty. Okay, so
(19:25):
there are people who will say this is the greatest
team ever, and my counter that is, I think it's
the most dominant team and maybe the best put together
team of this era. But I felt like like your
best Lakers team had had better talent. Like, again, the
competition was different because you know, nobody has the big
(19:46):
guys had you and Kareem and a C and Michael
Thompson right, Like, that was a great front line and
those front lines aren't as useful. But in terms of
top to bottom talent, I think was your eight seven
championship team that had seven double just scores, Like Michael
Cooper was the best perimeter defender in the league and
he didn't start for the team and he wasn't past
his prime. Like, so you helped me. You've lived through
(20:09):
a Golden era, You've covered the Jordan era. Now we're
living through this small ball era. Are these teams better
than than any other team or is it simply based
upon the salary cap You can't have as many good
players in the team and this is in fact the
most dominant of this era. Yeah, I think, um, you know, um,
(20:30):
I think gold the State is setting the tone for
this era. It's a different game. It's a three point shot.
Even centers now are required to be able to shoot
the three. Uh. You don't even see center on the
All Star ballot anymore. So it's very god oriented. But
(20:53):
I must say, I think people forget they've been drinking
too much kool aig because I think they forget us
how good some of the teams were obviously the Lakers,
and I think we could match up with any team today,
anybody that wants to, you know, put Dramond Green or
Kevin Durant down on the post and guard Green. We
(21:16):
welcome that will slow the game down and challenge that.
And if you want to run, we could take Kareem
off the floor, even though Kareem got up and down
for pretty good. We could come with a c Green myself,
Magic Byron Scott and Cooper. And I just think, you know,
with the experience, uh, and the style of play, the physicality, uh,
(21:39):
they don't let you play anymore. And the way Oscar
Robinson played, the way Michael Jordan's played, the way we
played in the eighties, it's it's you know, there's a
lot of untouchable. So I doubt that with four years
of college like Karnem had and Bill Walton had, I
had three, getting that theory and the fundamental I think
(22:00):
will overtake some of these young teams today. They will
be exposed. We would take for instance, Magic Johnson and
force someone like Steph Curry to guard him down low.
We would put in lineups that would create that type
of situation. So you know, I respect the talent today,
(22:20):
it is what it is. But I don't think it's
fair to compare to the Lakers are the Detroit Pistons.
I don't think. I don't think Jamond Green is a
Dennis Rodman, right. I told I totally agree like people, Yes,
he's a very and he's a very important player for
the way in which they play. But I think people
forget me. Here's what happens though. The last time we
(22:42):
see guys is what we remember them as. Right, Like
It's like you point out about Kareem, Like people remember
four year old Kareem not being as good bye you
have twenty five to thirty five year old Kareem was
a six time m v P. He was crazy athletic.
All they remembers the skyhook, right, Dennis Robin, all people
remembers the colored hair, and now he's going to North Korea.
He was the best defender in the league, was six
(23:03):
foot seven, giguard almost any position, as well as the
best rebounder in the league. Like Guy Go was a freak,
and he was tougher. I think I just think it
meant much respect. I love Jamond Green at Michigan State,
but people are talking about, you know, his type of play.
I would love to see Jamond Greens up against Anthony Mason,
are Charles Oakley and see what type of outcome. So
(23:27):
we've seen, um, this type of you know, style of physicality,
and we've also seen you know, a running game. Philadelphia
Sydney seventy six is eighty three. Team couldn't run with anybody.
So I respect the current position that these guys are in,
but I think it's a little bit foolish to try
to say that they're the best team now James Worthy
(23:49):
when the all time great Lakers. Of course, Uh, he's
gonna be joining Fred Rogan Rodney Pete on our AM
affiliate in Los Angeles five seventy to talk Lakers basketball
and the NBA course covers the Lakers as well for
for a living. Um So, so, James, if if Magic
called you and said, what do you think Alonzo Ball?
There's a lot of good, but there's some other stuff
(24:11):
to it. What's your opinion? Yeah? The only the only
thing I think of as Alonzo Ball, who, from what
I've seen, is extremely quiet kid. I haven't heard him
make any off the Wall comments, it just goes out
and plays in the game. Um, and so I like
his unselfishness in today's era, the ability to enhance everybody
(24:34):
around him. Uh. He has vision. He has vision like
Magic Johnson or adjacent Kidd. And he's strong in both legs.
You know, he can he's very acrobatic in the paint,
and he can deliver spontaneously, hard at the last moment.
So I like that that's kind of what we need.
You couldn't go wrong. Um, I don't think, you know, LaVar,
(24:59):
it's going to be a issue. Look, everybody loves there,
their children, They wanted to do well. Uh. He's high energy.
But I think once Wonzo enters the n b A
and becomes part of the team, a corporation is not college.
I think there are certain rules and regulations that will
be put in place to make sure that he's focused
(25:20):
on what he's supposed to be doing. Gotta be fascinating
stuff to watch. James were the Big game. James great
to catch up with. You really appreciate appreciate being our
guest on Fox Sports Radio. That's James worthy. He was awesome,
But I mean, just a tremendous player. Who rose to
the occasion. That's how he got the nickname Big Game
James obviously, and alongside Baggie Johnson Showtime Basketball nowadays, he
(25:44):
probably played some center in the NBA and he played
small forward and powerful for the Lakers, versatile as well.
We're gonna go out to Aaron Hills. Our guy Shane
Bacon is standing by in mirror moments. How is Ricky
reacting to the pressure of tying the all time first
round record in the US Open? How is the course
(26:05):
holding up? And what big name golfers are are chasing
are making a move here as we get ready for
the cutdowns after the second day at the Open, which
of course you can see on Fox Sports One and
then later day on Fox. Fox Sports Radio has the
best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of
our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot com and within
(26:27):
the I Heart Radio app. It feels like the Celtics
are pushing some of their chips into the center of
the table right Like, I don't are you and you
guys poker guys. I'm not really a poker guy. I've
played poker, but I'm not a poker guy. Okay, I mean,
everybody's kind of played poker at some well, like when
you go to Vegas, you play poker, you sit down,
you play poker. I'm a guy, you know poker. You
(26:48):
said that. I'm sorry, wait, hold on music, you raise
your hands and your poker guy. You said you played
Roulette as well and black chapp Yeah, well, you don't
really what kind of we're talking about because you don't
go to Vegas and play like hold Them. Why don't
you go to Vegas and play hold Him? Because you
have to enter like actual tournaments. I'm not you don't
you can go and play again, you're not a poker guy,
(27:12):
I can't. I don't know how I'm having a conversation
with you about this music. You're like, you can't. You
don't go and play hold Them? Like, yeah, you do.
You don't have to play in a tournament to go
play at David gascon uh um in for Dan By
or David tex Texas. Hold You can play hold Him
in Vegas anytime you want a little intimidating at times.
But because you don't beat, you don't have to beat.
You what music? Do you know what sharks and minnows are?
(27:34):
I'm certainly a minnow, right, Okay, So just for people understand,
like sharks, SI minnows and this is what David's talking about.
Like you sit down at a table in Vegas and
you have no idea who the guy is next to you. Right,
It's not like when you go and play pick up all,
Like you gonna play pickup all with a guy and
you're like you just watch them shooting around you like,
oh oh wait, wait, that guy is really good. I'm
at the wrong basketball gym right, like something, you know
what I mean. Or if you're sitting there and you're
(27:55):
I mean and anything, you go and play. You go
and play tennis, and you like want to get a
test match, like they have ratings systems, you know, and
like guy has one server. You're like, okay, check please,
I can't I can't hit the ball with this guy.
Like you have no idea poker because part of the
whole poker thing is that guy might let you win
the first five hands and then take all of your money,
and then your kid's money, and then any money your
(28:16):
parents and you just keep going back to the A
T M A t M. And you feel like that,
remember Vegas. The only good line from Vegas Vacation, which
is just a terrible movie. Was well, I think it
was it John Lovitts can't remember who the who was?
I just take you back and kicking the nets of
a colle it even right, because that's exactly how it feels.
But David, you can in fact go to Vegas and
play Texas holder. Yes, I mean you typically will do
(28:38):
it at a good spot like Bellagio or the Venetian
and get some good spots to play Texas holdamt or
Omaha if you prefer that Texas Ye. Sorry, um okay.
So have you played in a tournament before? Yes? Okay, good? Perfect,
your perfect guy to ask about this. So the idea
of like going all in, there's like a timing to
(28:58):
It's not just about the hand you have, it's about
the hand others have, and it's about where what your
chip count is in comparison to other people's chip count. Correct,
And if you're on tilt, which untilt translated to some
to non poker player, on tilt means usually when you're
frustrated about getting beat on a bad hand or just
a bad run of hands, right, you're that's when you're
(29:19):
on tilt. Yes, whereas It's not like getting crunk. Getting
crunk as where you go out drink party, stand on
top of the bar. That's getting crunk. It's the equivalent
of like someone playing blackjack and they're just losing their
tail and then all of a sudden they got a
hundred bucks left to their names. So they're like one hand,
they're like effort, right, yeah, right, yeah, They're like, I'm
(29:41):
losing my money anywhere, give me a conference. That's not
where the Celtics are. They're they're not They're not on tilt, okay,
but the Celtics have been just sitting there, sitting there,
sitting there with a huge chip count. They have this
year's Brooklyn Nets. They're not the actually don't have the
Brooklyn Nets pick. You guys know that, right. They have
the to switch picks with the Nets because you can't
(30:02):
trade back to back first round picks in the NBA
in the NBA drafts sexual rule. But they have next
year's Nets pick. Has anybody noticed that no one's talking
about going to the Nets as a free agent next year.
They're gonna be bad again next year, like the Sixers
aren't bad anymore. They're gonna get an awesome pick next year,
so they have this huge chip count. So they're sitting
(30:23):
there going like, well, we don't have to go all in,
but yeah, sure, you know, like we'll push a bunch
of chips in because just because we can. Because even
if we lose this hand, we still have the ability
to have young players. So here's the latest story from
agent war Zanowski, which I had heard was was brewing
Woades from He has his own website, the Vertical Yahoo.
Philadelphia is waiting on medical information on Mark heal Folds,
(30:44):
but deep in talks on acquiring Boston's number one overall pick.
Boston would acquire the Sixers number three pick in two
thousand seventeen, a package that include future first from the Sixers.
Sources say, uh, let's see here. Uh. Mark Stein and
(31:04):
Zach Low also have have essentially the exact same story
which I talked about the other day with Mark heal
Folts came out and worked out for the Lakers yesterday.
My sources the Lakers told me there was a big
difference between Mark heal Folds and everybody else. They had
had it, but they couldn't figure out why the Celtics
(31:26):
didn't guarantee him. They were going to take him number
one overall, and now we know because they were going
to trade that pick, and so by trading that pick,
they they put themselves in position to likely My guess
is they will go and get Jason Tatum because they
don't need a guard, even though the guard is the
higher rated prospect. And the reason you go get Tatum
(31:48):
is because he's the more refined player, He's the more
ready to play player. Because they're going forward. Now, this
could be and and the picks also could be a
way in which they trade for another player, another big guy.
But they know that they're closer to winning than they
are to rebuilding. And oh yeah, by the way, if
(32:10):
they don't, if they don't draft a guard this year,
they could draft a guard next year because they're gonna
have Brooklyn's pick, which would probably be really good, and
they'll probably have the Sixers pick as well. So it
feels like and remember there still could they go after
Gordon Hayward. They go after Gordon Hayward. They had Jason Tatum,
Gordon Hayward, Jyalen Brown. This gives them more stuff to trade,
(32:33):
more assets to continue to move if they have to
sign and trade or if they want to outright trade
for guys, or if they want to trade to the
Indiana Pacers for Paul George, because remember Paul George, there's
no guarantee that he resigns in Boston, and people have said, like, well,
you know what the Calves should do. They should trade
(32:53):
Kevin Love to two for Paul George. Like, if I'm
Indiana and I trade away Paul George, I'm rebuilding. So
if I'm rebuilding, I don't want Kevin Love. I want
draft picks, many of us possible. I gotta, I gotta,
I gotta press reset, and that would be again, that
would be more on. Honestly, this tell me if I'm
(33:16):
wrong here, Um, David, aren't the Pacers on tilt? Right? Yeah? Right?
The Pacers they had a bunch of close games against
the Cavaliers. But the truth is they know they can't
held onto Paul George. So he's a diminishing asset in
terms of his value. He's not going to resign at
the end of next year. Uh, Larry birds gone. They
(33:36):
have a new GM like they're kind of they're in
that no man's land of are they the eighth best
team in the East or the twelfth best team in
the East, and if they lose Paul George, they're closer
to the twelve the fourteenth best team in the East.
They're kind of on tilt. So the likelihood of making
a deal or pushing it all in or trading Paul,
the likehood is strong. Now on, there's your poke, there's
(33:59):
your that we have maxed out on poker references any
other really, like, I know what the river card is?
What else do do I need to know? Poker stuff?
The flop? I know what the flop is. What the
flop is? Um, the flop, the turn, the turns, the
final card. Instead of taking vague me to take him
(34:19):
a Vegas now a right, that was a good one.
I don't really I don't want to want to take August.
It could be a good date for you. Well, here's
the thing about August. I don't know if you guys
know this. August the maywear the Pacio find sorry Mayweather
McGregor some other rummy can that's gonna I was actually
hoping for Patio. So um. But it's also the final game,
(34:42):
championship game of the Big Three. Here's no then, the
championship game of the Big three, and I think it's
supposed to be in the same arena. They're both supposed
to be in the T Mobile Arena, So that's gonna
be a heck of a night. So yeah, I plan
on going, but I'm like, I'm not gonna go to
go and hold his hand in Vegas. Plus, honestly, I
will never play. I would never play Ocurre in Vegas
because I would be a minnow. They would be sure.
(35:03):
I prefer to if I'm gonna lose my money, it's
gonna be a blackjack because it's a little bit of
math and I can pretend like I know what I'm
doing right craps table, I don't you know what David,
next time you're in, you're gonna explain to us all
the rules of craps. We actually had this discussion. I'm convinced.
I'm convinced that no. Two things that people don't know
in this world. What's a catch in the NFL? And
(35:26):
all the rules of craps, uh, here's no one? And
how to pronounce Dirk Kovinski
