(00:26):
of America, Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. I hope
you're having a great day getting ready for um. Well,
maybe we don't have to get ready. He got sports
already on TV, Hoops on TV, Golf on TV, Baseball
on TV. Man, it's gonna be fun. What what a
fun day? Of course I'm a man. Dan Buyer, Ryan Music,

(00:48):
Dan Buyer giving us the updates, Ryan Music producing, and
John Ramos and the ones in two This week we
got our eyes on our TV sets, were watching the
p GA Championship take place. Jim Nance, of course, never prone.
Dihyperbole said, up, we're entering the greatest stretch in the
history of golf. I mean, think about all the majors
that can be played the next eleven months, seven of them,
I believe, so This is gonna be fun. Fun. Keep

(01:12):
an eye on Tiger Woods and uh and on the
Gulf tonight in the NBA, what on paper should be
a great matchup. On paper, Lakers Rockets should be outstanding. Now,
Lebron's not gonna play, and Russell Westbrook's not gonna play.
But I think we're we're getting into this. We're getting

(01:33):
in the weeds a little bit. Yes, the Lakers struggle
to shoot threes. There were five of thirty seven from
three yesterday. Um, and it's it's really easy to go, well,
you know, they may make more shots, you know, or
they're better shooting team. And and some of that is

(01:53):
true because Lebron does need spacing, does need shooting around him.
So too does Anthony Davis. They all need that spacing
to be themselves. But if if we're really going to
be honest here, it's it's this. This is what happens, right.
I mentioned when Lebron, when things go great, it's Lebron

(02:15):
James and that the one seed in the West. And
I'll grant you some of the effort yesterday very easily
could be that they had obtained the one seed two
days previously. I'm fine, I mean, Oklahoma City beats them,
beats them like a drum. They don't play well, they
have no juice, and it's it's okay to go, Hey,

(02:36):
it's a little bit let down. You're not there's no
home court advantage, there's no arranging, and you're not going
against somebody for the eight seed. You're not trying to
fix that. You're just you're just playing to play. Literally
had nothing to play for, not figuratively. Literally Oklahoma City
is not getting the eight seeds. So it's not like
you're trying to control whether or not you play against

(02:59):
them or don't play against him. But but this is
what we do. When things go right, it's all Lebron,
which is okay, but the opposite has to be true
on some level as well. Right, Look, I think he's
been great this year. I think he's lad. I think

(03:19):
he's been center fielder defensively. I think he's motivated people.
I think he's gotten a lot more out of Anthony Davis,
and maybe even Anthony Davis knew he had in him.
I've said I think he should be the MVP. But
there's no mention of Frank Vogelist Coach of the Year
and Frank Vogel was their second choice, and people thought
he was dead man walking because Jason kidds on the
staff and because Lebron hadn't worked with him before. Right,

(03:39):
that's part for the course. Things go well, Lebron gets
all the credit. Things go poorly. No one points to
Lebron except here inside the bubble. Nineteen points a game
field goal shooting twenty seven from three, and he continues
to struggle from the free to the the line with without fans,
doesn't matter sixty eight percent. Take a listen to Rick
Bucker on this show talking about what made the Lakers

(03:59):
six task for the season. Anthony Davis in l A,
his numbers are pretty indistinguishable between the wins and losses.
If you look at Lebron James, his numbers are starkly
different between wins and losses, and not in terms of
rebounds and assists and being a distributor, it's being a scorer.

(04:24):
I think that the win over the Clippers was an aberration.
Lebron James at thirty five, is going to have to
be their closer, is going to have to be a score,
and he's gonna have to be one of their two
best defenders. And at some point you're gonna have to
realize that maybe he doesn't have that in him anymore,
you know. I mean, like, look, Lebron statistically is a

(04:48):
very good closer in terms of reputation wise, I don't
think it's the same. Here. Here's what Here's what Buker's
talking about in wins this year, right, it's just this.
You ever you ever go look at splits, Splits is great.
In whins, the averages twenty six point eight points per game.
He shoots fifty one point three uh percent from from

(05:11):
the field, thirty eight point six percent from the three
point line, and seventy one from the free throw line.
In losses this year, he averages twenty points seven points
per game. He shoots nine percentage points lower forty two
point seven from two, he shoots seventeen percent lower from

(05:33):
three point six uh and he shoots just sixty three
point three six percent from the feet of line. There's
there's no easier way to determine. If you want to
beat the Lakers, shut his scoring down, make his shots
more difficult. If you do, they're going to struggle. Now again,

(05:53):
I'm not gonna blame Lebron for the construction of this team,
not solely. You know, it is hard to find guys
that fit with him, and you know that the team
was he did not get a blank canvas. The team
last year didn't have the shooting, and then this year
they chose to bring back Rondo's not a shooter. They

(06:16):
fell in love with Alex Cruso, who's very athletic, great
like third guard, maybe second guard, but not a shooter.
Didn't get Darren Collison, who led the league in three
point shooting percentage, going back I think two years ago
with Indianapolis. With Indiana excuse me. So the point is
it's not a perfectly constructed team. But what we have

(06:38):
is I like congruent arguments, and it can grue an
argument is if Lebron James is the biggest and the
reason we all talk about for the Lakers success and
the Lakers one seed, well, then when they lose, what,
why doesn't Why isn't his play, especially when the statistics
just chop out and they point out that he's not

(06:59):
playing own the bubble, not scoring well in the bubble,
wouldn't have congrue an arguments say that kind of the
same thing, right, Like that's a that's that's I'm just
trying to be fair here. I know most sports arguments
are completely unfair and it's based upon your feelings and
and who you like and who you don't like, etcetera, etcetera. Anyway,

(07:24):
I'm just trying to be fair here. Lebron was not
gonna play, but they were stopped by the thunder last yesterday.
Didn't have anything to play for, but still one of
eighties six. He didn't shoot well, they didn't play well.
Will Lebron be good enough for them to win a championship?
And the answer is, I don't know. I mean, it
looks not like Cowhi Leonards played unbelievable basketball. Joannice has
been a little up and down. Bucks have lost five

(07:45):
out of six if you go back and before the bubble,
so you know they're not perfect. But if Lebron is
the reason that they win, why can't he be some
of the reason that they lose or a good portion
of the reason they lose. It's really that simple, all right.
Coming up next to the doug Otlip Show here on
Fox Sports Radio, We've been hold for a long time.
Money is the root of all evil? Right? You ever
heard that money is the root of all evil. But

(08:07):
for whatever reason, that is apparently the stance we take
in regards to college sports. Uh. One college coach said,
the only reason to come back is money. Why one
he's wrong and two why it's not actually even a
bad thing. That's coming up next. Be sure to catch

(08:30):
the live edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at
three p m. Easter noon Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the I Heart Radio app Doug Otlip Show Fox
Sports Radio. I mean, I literally have everything on these
TVs here, you know, a little horse racing taking place.
I got the replay of last night's Angels lost to
the to the Mariners. We got to NBA hoops. Uh,

(08:55):
you know you can. I can stream this, uh, the
PGA Championship. We can update from PGA Championship moment early.
Dan Buyer, Who, um, Dan, have you been to this
course in San Francisco? You've ever been up there? Yeah?
And played it twice? Actually, Um, it's a it's a brute,
it's tough. The the A lot of the themes have
been the heavy fog and the ball not traveling as

(09:17):
far as you would think in the middle of summer.
But that summer in San Francisco. But not only that
for guys like me who can't hit it as far
as these guys, it's really tough when that when that
fog is there, there's I don't think it's got tons
of character outside of the trees. You know, like the
trees make it look really good. But sometimes when you
play around a golf you know how you can remember

(09:38):
every hole. A lot of these blend into me. I
played it, played it No. Seven, and then I played
it again about six years ago, and I still have
a tough time remembering some of the holes. But you
just kid just kicked your ass so much. You're just like,
I can't remember, you know, I don't remember. I just
remember bogie. They seemed all long and difficult. Then when

(10:00):
you the course wraps up with a short part four
on sixteen, a part three on on seventeen. By that time,
I was kind of, you know, beaten down already that
uh you know, I wasn't able to take full advantage.
It's a nice course, I mean it is, and the
it's uh, it's the trees look great to sound like
Mer said, but I think it's I think it's I
think it's pretty tough. So when I played it all right,

(10:22):
we'll get an update on the scores. Uh like not
the biggest hitter, um isn't on the leaderboard, but a
lot of big hitters are on the are the top
of the leader board, which of course is because of
the length. Um. You know. I like golf courses. I don't.
I don't mind. I mean, like, look, I don't hit
it a mile or whatever, but I hit I hit
it pretty good. But I just like things that we

(10:43):
can play one ball. That's that's my thing. Like I
enjoy golf course. You can play with one ball. I
can find your ball. You could do that here, yeah, yeah,
which I think is is great. Like you have to
find a way to get yourself out of something thick, okay,
you know, and sometimes it takes a cut of an
extra shot to get there. But when you know, when

(11:03):
you get to these places where you you hit it
like all, I'm not gonna look for that. I canna
look for that, And that's when it's not that much fun.
Dougla show here on Fox Sports Radio. I was listening
to Dan Patrick show earlier today. Randy Etzel, who of
course is in his second stint as head coach at
Yukon had this to say in regards to the only
reason for college football teams to play this year. Yes,

(11:26):
I have gotten responses from coaches and said thanks for
speaking up and glad you had the guts to do
what you've done. Put the pluses, put the minuses down.
There's only one plus money and you go down to
minuses and there's much more. I think there's a lot
of coaches, there's a lot of players that don't want
to have the season. You know, in the NFL they
have a players Association. Well, guess what players association spoke

(11:48):
up so those guys could go in and feel safe.
And then they also if they didn't want to play,
they could opt out in the college game. Everybody talks
about that, but nobody backs it up. Everybody walks away
from it when push comes to show up. Okay, that
doesn't actually make sense because players can in fact opt out. Look,
Randy Etzel is not being honest. I don't think he's

(12:10):
being completely dishonest. But the reason Yukon's not playing is
not because Randietzel doesn't want to play and doesn't feel safe.
They're not playing because they can't get a schedule because
they're not in a league. Like, that's the reality to it.
And the first thing is the money is yes, money
is a big factor. It is a big factor. M hmm. Look,

(12:36):
if you're only driving force is money for you know,
the powers that be, for the coaches and the administrators,
well then that would be kind of diabolical and you
shouldn't play college football. But like, look, I've been told
that one of our competitors at Fox, or the competitor Fox,
if they don't have college football, and remember they have

(12:57):
the College Football Playoff and they have all these are
the leagues, and they have the SEC network, the AEC network,
they're gonna have to fire like the behind the scenes employees.
Like that's how important for the lifeblood of ESPN it is.
Right in addition to which, if college football doesn't doesn't

(13:22):
doesn't take place, not only our college football program's gonna
go under, but so too with the rest of the
athletic departments. Like that's how it's it's structured that way.
It structured that way. Um, if you don't have these games,
think of all the other businesses that even the ones
that don't use having fans at the games. You know,
the bus companies uniform. You know, everyone is in this together. Like, yes,

(13:50):
it's capitalism, but there's a communal aspect to it. Money
is not always used for evil. A lot of times
it's used for good. For all these athletes, it's and
for all these kids. And while you can say like, well,
the only driving forces money, like okay, well there's other
driving forces, just competing having a kid play a regular season. Look,

(14:10):
if you don't play the season, Randy, what do you
do with the seniors? They get another year? All right,
so now you're back on. Now you have your incoming freshman.
Now what we are Are you not gonna take any pay?
Schools losing money? You know, hey, we're not gonna play.
It's then it's about money. You can back all you're

(14:31):
gonna get back. Your assistant coaches paid too. So there's
a lot of different levels too. I mean, look, you're
playing to compete, you're playing and win chap, you're still
the There is actually very little difference. The only difference
is the player's level of accountability, your level of responsibility,

(14:52):
and you're playing likely in front of no fans. But
but this idea that money is the driving forces is
but it it's not in the evil sense. We say
money and people lose their mind and they think there's
this diabolical nature to it. Yes, money pays for the
scholarships that all of these kids have, pays for the facilities.

(15:15):
It keeps the power out. Like i've yet, this is
not a it might not be. Here's the best way
to do it. And this is what I do. I
have an AU program, I run workouts. We do charge
and I tell all the parents the same thing. This
is not a business. This is not a charity whatever
you want to call it. In between a business and
a charity, that's what it is. I charge so that

(15:37):
you know I'm giving up my time to work with
your kid. And by the way, I like it to
have my kid have a place to work out as
well and a group and camaraderie. But I also know
what I do in my time has value. It's away
from my other two children. Right. That's how college sports is.
It ain't a business. It's a business for something, but

(15:59):
it ain't a charity. And Randy Ussel's disingenuous saying you
know that he did something bold, like he walked in
and said not playing not the right thing to do no, dude,
they couldn't get games? Who are they kidning? Be sure
to catch the live edition of The Doug Gottlieb Show

(16:19):
weekdays at three p m. Easter noon Pacific, The Gottlip
Show by Fox Sports Radio. I'm actually watching now, Mutch.
I just switched over and we watched the Lakers losing
to Oklahoma City last night. David Dorff joins this True
Hoop is the website. David, of course, is worked in
around basketball his entire professional life. True hoop dot Com
great place to get all the insight you need. Uh, David,

(16:44):
what what? What in your mind is wrong with the Lakers?
I think it's basically come out when Rod's growing and
they've already clinched the first seed, he looked unwill to me.
I didn't know if it was just a lack of
confidence in some of its deal game when he first
when the games kind of counted for real, not those
primages because they've been out for so long, or if

(17:07):
it's something worse and it just turns down. I guess
he fits in tonight with a bit of its rain growing,
which is an issue that, as you well know, will
inhibit you from from doing too much because you don't
want to strain it or stretch it or tear it.
So I think that's an issue. I also think that
there's just nothing really gonna play for for them. Uh
there's no doubt dog that if Lebron isn't pretty much

(17:27):
one of the two best players on the court in
every game, that they're not gonna win a series. And
so right now we're not as most of getting him helping.
That's the voice of David Thorpe. True hoop dot Com
is the website. Joins us here on the Doug Gottlip
Show on Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, I mean I I
read the stats. I mean the stark contrast throughout the
entire season when when he scores game is when they

(17:49):
win and he shoots a high percentage. When he doesn't,
they they they lose. And um, you know, I think
it's going to be going to be fascinating just to
see what happens. Let's get a couple of the other teams. Um,
are that are the Clippers trying and they're just a
little disfunctional or is this all uh kind of trial

(18:10):
and error and they're really playing for the playoffs. I
think it's more of the first. Uh, they I don't
think they've been healthy with their entire team all year.
I think that's the most talented team on paper in
the league. But uh, you know, as a player, there
is a chemistry issue on the court, forgive it off
the court. On the court, there has to be a field.

(18:32):
There is a certain anticipation. Uh, Like my book is
called Basketball's Jazz, you have to kind of know and
trust what your teammates are gonna do. They don't have that.
I mean, they're missing guys right now. They've been missing
guys throughout and they know they're going to be a
two seed. I don't think they're gonna overpower people absent
that chemistry that isn't there now. But the good news

(18:54):
is that they get through around one, which will not
be easy. All these teams are good. Uh, it's gonna
help kind of chill the team, and they'll need that
because they're they're came about losing any series. The West
is loaded. If a team like Permanent from example and
makes it, they're gonna get The Lakers are of a run.
That's why Lebron's gotta get healthy. With Nurkics back that
Portland team who may don't even make it. But if

(19:16):
they do make a b C that is an issue
for a team like l A. And then the seventeen
might be a team like Dallas who at the best
help in the league this year with Luca Duchess one
of the best players in the world, they can beat
the Clipper adapt in l A playing better. David torp
Our guests in the Doug Got Laps show on on
fox Port treat Okay, so, so who is you, doll like,
who are the other teams? If we all know Lakers

(19:37):
have flaws and we and the Clippers have been inconsistent,
the other team most likely to to make a run
in the West is who? All right, We'll get to
get him a second trying to just adjust his phone.
By the way, I'm watching this Laker game, and I
mean Anthony Davis completely asleep at the wheel. Okay, if

(19:58):
if if not the Akers and Clippers, then who oh
bucks for the rest are for the whole league? West? West?
Oh boy? I don't know, but I give Oklahoma City
in Houston a chance. In both cases, you have teams
that have to polliti talents. Oklahoma City is a sleeper.
Doug had been one of the best three teams in

(20:19):
the league pretty much since January. Offensively, Gildas Alexander is
playing great. We all know about Chris Paul of course,
Dennis Shrewder, who's not there now because he's he just
had a baby, but he should be back. Uh with
Steven Adams there, Billy Donovan is a very good coach
who's been in obviously to coach big games. They are
a sleeper. We know how good Yokitchen Denver is and

(20:40):
it be unfair for me not to say them. But
Harden is incredible. He's rested because they had this break.
Remember he's running the gas every postseason in memory. Uh,
they're small and they they obviously try to win a
different kind of way. But the end of the day,
if Pardners can give you forty and four games or
three games of seven, the probably when he knows games

(21:00):
and they have to steal one more if you only
get three. So I think those teams are legit. You know,
it's interesting I'm watching Chris paul is kicking the hell
out of Quinn Cook and um and and it's I
brought this up last year when people would say, wow,
you know when when Durant's out, there's not the same
disparity of when you know Steph Curry's out. And what

(21:22):
my my point was then, which is my point now,
is like, look, Quinn Cook's basically a G league. He's
a two way player, right, he can really score, but
he can't. He's tiny, he can't guard anybody, and other
than score, he doesn't do much. And that's the This
is the difference between an NBA All Star and an
all time great, right, whether it's Steph Curry or last

(21:43):
night's case, Chris Paul and a two way guy. I
think you know, Look, the Lakers point guard issue is
is the one that's to me. They've known that's the issue.
They try to get Darren Collinson. Then Avery Bradley bailed
on them. That's that's that's the biggest issue that's haunting
this team. Yeah, so Lebron's got to be the point
guard and he's got to be super healthy to do it.

(22:04):
And then Caruso is an outstanding defensive player, but he
has not produced in anything anything game that mattered before.
I gave l A an equal chance to win the
title as Milwaukee two weeks ago. I give them both
about chance to win because I think in the post season,
especially this postseason, you're gonna you're superstar is gonna mount

(22:27):
to more than ever before because none of them are
gonna be worn down. And the Davis Lebron combination is
who I trust the most. If Lebron's healthy, and that's
why I say, if he's not absolutely healthy, I don't
think they have any shots to win even one series.
Doug Gotli show here on Fox Sports Radio. Let's let's
get to the East. The big news today is Ben
Simmons dislocated kneecap um. Does this make them better or worse? Well,

(22:55):
I think probably worse. I mean, he has not played
well in the Disney campus at all. In fact, I
think he's probably the biggest reason why they've been so
kind of ordinary. But he had he had a very
good season. Uh There's there's people the league who told
me they think they would trade Mby before Ben because
of mpy personality and injury issues. I don't think it's

(23:17):
easy to trade either guy. Both of have a chance
to be high level. You know, all starts to years
become and are enigmatic. Uh So, But in the short term,
absent Ben Simmons, there are still a possibility for them
to win a round. But that league is that conferences
too strong one through seven, I'm sorry, one through six

(23:38):
really where if they even get passed round one, they're
they're gonna really struggle without Ben playing great much less
injured to get past Miami, Boston, Milwaukee or Toronto. They're
not gonna be so teams. I don't know if you
saw you you go back before, you know, even before
quarantine and Milwaukee has actually lost five of six. Any
reason to think that that that they're being exposed. No, Uh,

(24:02):
but you're right. I mean, they just did not finish
this season well prior to this the break, and they've
not been that. They're just bored out of their minds now. Uh,
honest is beyond incredible. Brook Lopez has been great. Uh,
They're going to have to depend Doug on guys making
shots because it's the way they play. Uh. The teams
just gonna stag in the middle to get to guard
the honest and lead people open West. Matthews is someone

(24:23):
that I've kind of put my microscope on. He's he's
just you talked about the g VA player versus an
All Star or whatever. Matthew's obviously been around a long
long time, but he's even making threes or doing nothing
and then needs more than that. Now, if he can
play great defense, that's fine. And as a team, don't
forget they are the best defensive team in the league.
So I think they're gonna have a purpose and passion
to their play dog once the games count. But if

(24:46):
we don't see that in Round one against an over
match Brooklyn Orlando, it'll be it'll be a worrisome sign
to everyone. Uh And and they're saying base but people
in Toronto and Boston will be thrilled. Obviously, everybody likes Toronto.
We like Nick Nurse, we like the fact the lost
Kauai Leonard and they're still really really good. But but
but can you win in the playoffs, you know, with
Kyle Lowry and Fred Van Bleeed bailing out. I mean

(25:09):
they did last year and Kauai obviously was the best
player on the court, and and this year's Sam is
gonna have to be that guy. But we know how
important Colin tread were. I looked it up the other day.
I looked up today marcusol when he's on the court
in the in the campus games, they're averaging defensively giving
up seventy eight points for a hundred possessions, which which
would be an all time record by a lot. Uh. Defestively,

(25:30):
they're amazing. That's one of the two best teams along
with the Lakers and past breaks. Uh, there's a field
to them when you watch them play. There's a connection
dog that they have. And honestly, you know, Kyle, he
can have a chip on his shoulder almost like Jordan,
no matter what the real situation was, he could find
a way to be motivated. But given what's happened with Kawaii,
you know, not coming back and everything, they're playing through

(25:53):
him in terms of just his energy and they are dynamite.
They're they're absolutely I gave a level attention. Win there
my fourth, my fourth highest favorite behind the Big Three.
David Dorb joining us in the Doug Gottlip Show on
Fox Sports. Ready, wow, behind the Big Three? That's okay.
What what about the Celtics. What don't you like about
the Celtics? I Well, first of all, what I like

(26:17):
is their ability to score. Uh, there are number one
on on campus right now. In offense, they've been very,
very good all year. They've got four legit guys that
they're the only team that has I think GOT four
guys have over seventeen game and shooting thirty. Center sent
a better from three, So they have those weapons, but
but they still are it can be exposed offensively. Kemba's

(26:37):
needs worriesom right he sat out. I think it was
last night. Uh, he's not been himself its whole uh
return of games. Um, he needs to be super healthy
for them. But even then, I do think they can
get hot enough to be any team in a series.
But to do it over the course of one round, two,
rounds three, rounds four, I think it's too much to ask.
They're just not quite there. But with Jason Tatum and

(27:00):
Jillen Brown is still growing as players. People involved to
have to be throwed about about their future. Doug gotlip
show here on Fox Sports Radio. That's the voice of
David Thorpe. True hoop dot Com is uh is the
site that you need to go to. He and Henry Abbott.
It's really really insightful stuff. Um, Okay, how do you
think the bubble is going to affect the playoffs? Well?

(27:23):
This is this is to me the most exciting thing
is I've been talking to players about what I have.
I have guys in the bubble playing, uh that I
love it there, you know they feel like it's the
games are intense. I think the look is fantastic. I
give anyone who reads TRUP knows we're not just giving
out praise unnecessarily. We're happy to attack anyone if if it,

(27:46):
if it calls for it. But I think the games
have been terrifically will run. They're fun to watch. The
players has ever a ton of credit, but the slickness
of the studio look to everything. The field is great.
Uh in the postseason would be strange without saying as obviously,
but um uh, Doug, you know this you played when
when a YOU was was kind of a thing. Now
it's even bigger. But a whole bunch of other games

(28:08):
are played pretty much just parents are in the stands,
and when families start coming back, I think in round
two you're just gonna see moms and dads and brothers
and answer whatever yelling and screaming. It would be kind
of an old school field for people like us that
grew up in gym's our whole lives. I think the
game's gonna be terrific I'd like to see the coaches
in suits. I know I don't care about now, but
the formality of the playoffs, to me, i'd like to

(28:31):
match that. But other than that, I think that the
look of it as good. I think the games will
be terrific and they're healthy right now. No one's worn out.
The games will come fast and furious in the postseason
compared to normal years. But I think the lack of
wear and teterror that they've had this last few months
will help, and so I think the quality of play
is gonna be very, very high. Doug Gotlives show here
on Fox Sports Radio. H David thorpet Is our is,

(28:54):
our guests. I I agree with you. I do wonder
if I do wonder what the emotions are like when
you're playing for such important stuff and you don't have
the fans to pick you up and you've been in
the same place like it does. I guess you would
just but I don't know what that looks like. Well,
I think you're very insightful to talk about this, Samenus.

(29:16):
I talked to a player last night who admitted the
coach things things do feel kind of stale. He's not
a really good team, but it is it's just I mean,
going fishing, is you know, playing corn hole. There's not
you know, playing the Jazz. I saw Rudy go Bare
bought a ping pong table for a team, which is cool,
I mean, but but still, uh, they need to get
their families back and and that will help to some degree,

(29:38):
but we can't know for sure what would be like.
I do think that chemistry is everything. That's where I
think the Raptors. I probably underestimated them in eleven percent
to win because they seem to have a feel about
them that none of these other teams have helped by
winning a championship and having amazing guys like Marcusol and
Kyle Lowry being your captains, your leaders. But yeah, they're

(29:59):
they're is some degree of uncertainty here. But but road
teams are used to that, right. Road teams are used
to have and generate their own enthusiasm for what if
you're watching these games, watch the benches like I just
saw the Sacramento Kings Alex Glenn Gotta Duck and the
whole bench erupted and they're terrible. They're about to win
the first game in the bubble. They're up four teams
and uh and they found a way to be excited.

(30:20):
I think these players know how to do that, and
as the games get more and more important, I don't
think their enthusiasm or wayne awesome stuff. True dot com

big game time side on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Damn,

(31:10):
what do you, buddy, Doug? The game today is alright, Doug.
Six scenarios laid out before US guests. Who Doug tied
in the conference race for the most teams in the
preseason Top twenty five College Football Coaches Poll. Two leagues
had the most teams in the top twenty five. Who
were they SEC in Big twelve? Yeah, no SEC in

(31:38):
a CEC. No, no Big ten SEC. That is the case.
He has six schools each for those uh for those rankings.
Not surprising that the SEC had three of the top
five Alabama Georgian l s U coming in three, four, five.

(31:58):
But Big ten also had six I think, and I
may have counted wrong. I think the Big twelve had five.
But uh but uh yeah, So that's uh that from
college football today. Penn State, by the way, announcing no
fans at attendance at least to start the season for
any of their false sports. We're also hearing more and

(32:19):
more players opting out of the college football season, including
Micah Parsons defense State linebacker in Miami, defensive end Greg Russo. Alright,
Doug guests. Who in the NFL showed a video of
the team at redesigning their tunnels at their stadium in
preparation for the upcoming season. Who in the NFL. Yes,

(32:40):
they're showing a a new new tunnel that they were
designing on the walls. The decor. I guess you could
say the Chargers and Rams. This would be the Washington Football. Yes. Now,
the reason I bring this up, Doug is for the

(33:00):
fact of they were taking down Hail to the Redskins.
They were taking down the old Redskins logo, but they
also were taking down the h T t R, which
is the What would you say? Is that an anagram
for hill to the Redskins? And I'm just wondering if
if it would have been you know, red wolves or

(33:22):
red tails, you know, once you maybe keep that up.
I'm not sure. Maybe they just want to clean start,
but I think they just want to clean start that
that could that could be it. Alright, guess who has
an interest in fregent linebacker Clay Matthews and defensive end
Everson Griffin in the NFL? What team? Um? The Seahawks,
that is correct. Mike Silver of the NFL Network reporting

(33:45):
that the Seahawks, yes, likely moving on for Jadevian Clowney,
but if they're looking for past rushing help, it could
come in the form of one of those two players.
Um yeah, I mean the big thing w I saw
just seen Anderson tweet out or here today, the tides
changing for for Jadeveon Clowney. That with teams opting out like, no,

(34:06):
nobody wants to pay Todevion Clowney all that money guaranteed,
Like they just don't. He doesn't play hard enough and
none if you have in a season. Yeah, I think
he's misplayed this one. He's overvalued himself. It doesn't you know,
the the quarterback sex you know, the numbers aren't there,
you know, And I think that's you know, a big issue.
And plus you know there's there's an injury history as well.

(34:29):
All right, Doug, kind of random here. This isn't necessarily
an easy question, but I'll throw it out there anyway. Guests.
Who has scored the most runs in Major League Baseball
so far this season? This one kind of surprised me
a bit. Um most runs, total runs, Yes, total runs.
And I think this is this will then be once

(34:51):
we open up the can of worms, you'll see maybe
why they are But well, because they played the most games. Um,
well they've they've They're close. They have played thirteen games
so far. It's other teams have also played thirteen, right,
I mean, but there's lots of teams that haven't played
that many games that that that's part of right. I
did see where like the Marlins are like I'm gonna

(35:11):
say five and one on the year. They've only played
six games. Yes, and the Cardinals. It was gonna be
who scored the least runs, But then that would have
been the Cardinals and Marlins. Cardinals have only played five games,
so I think hold on, um, I know the Angels
scored a bunch of runs, but I don't think that's it.
The Astros scored a bunch of runs. Oh uh oh

(35:34):
oh oh um. Not the Cubs, the Dodgers, No, that
would have been, my guests, Dodgers are tied for second.
It's the Padres. The Padres seventy two runs so far.
The problem is is the Dodgers, who have scored seventy
have only given up thirty seven. The Padres have given
up sixty four, so that puts them at seven and six.

(35:57):
Their run differential there is only plus eight right now. Yeah,
that's a who knew that pet Go was the you know,
the offensive jugger? Not um? Alright, Doug, Sorry, these questions
kind of sting today. What do you guys think? Am
I bad on the questions? Alright? Buyer guests, who is
playing in the PGA Championship and currently uh is near

(36:22):
the top of the leaderboard that shares the same name
as another player also in the PGA Championship. So two
guys with the same name playing in the PGA Championship,
the exact same name. Uh yeah, outside you know, middle
initial different. But um, there's only one Jason Day right, Yes,

(36:43):
there's only one tager Wood that Johnson, right, yeah, but
you're getting really warm with that one. Is there is
there to Zack Johnson's Yes, there are. There's Zack Johnson,
the two time major winner. He's at four under. And
then there's Zack Q. Johnson, who is a club professional

(37:04):
who is unfortunately, um just near the back of the
pack tied for last right now or Zack J. Johnson
not Ques J. Johnson. Nine over through thirteen. So at
one point on this leaderboard, Zack Johnson led and Zack
Johnson was in last place, which was pretty amazing. Finally, Doug,
guess who on the crew parked next to a woman
sleeping in her car today? No? Debbie Ramos, no Debbie

(37:30):
Ryan Music. Yes, was taken aback a bit. It was
a bit surprising to get out of your car and
to uh catch out of the corner of your eyes
that a person Oh my gosh, that's someone's sleeping. Okay,
yeah it was. I don't know. I guess I was
caught off guard. No reason to be afraid of a
sleeping woman, but it definitely caught me by surprise. M hm.

(37:53):
And that's game time. This is game time on the
dunk Leave show. That's in our parking garage. You saw
that or did our parking garage? I will I will
point out I have napped in our in our parking
garage before early in the morning, not at eleven o'clock
when I arrived, though I've done at eleven O'clockoy. Sometimes

(38:15):
you get there and you're just like, man, I'm tired,
I gotta I gotta refresh. It's a difficult decision to make,
but I think it's time one NBA team breaks up.
