Speaker 2 (00:08):
Enjoy it why you can, because it's gonna be over soon.
Not talking about Monty and me. I'm talking about the
Golden State Warriors. Yes, signs that it is done. It
is over. I don't even know if this is a
different language. It is fitny day. How about that. I
don't Maybe I just swore it's The signs are everywhere.
(00:32):
We will reveal some of those in so much more
in the next two hours.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know, yesterday we talked about the end of an
era over at Buffalo with the Bill Stadium, and now
we're talking about the end of an era.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
You think with the Warriors.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Have you stopped crying?
Speaker 4 (00:47):
You know, it was maybe still emotional.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
He left yesterday's show in tears.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
He did, I really.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Did in good tears.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, yeah, thank you for that. You know, facing a

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I know, college basketball fans at some point maybe didn't
like Tom Mizeo, but I think he's becoming America's favorite coach.
And something that he did last night and said last
night in an incident in the Michigan State USC game,
is something that we're going to dive into. Our good
buddy Adam Kaplan joins us in twenty minutes to talk
all things NFL, while the Cowboys made the move with
Matt Eberflus, while the Commanders making a move with Cliff Kingsbury.
(01:32):
All of that coming up in twenty but last night
was our first night in a while without Monday Night
football and college football had its FCS Championship game, but
it was also a night for the NBA to shine,
and it was a night where the Hornets go to
Oklahoma City and route the thunder. The Nuggets didn't have
(01:54):
any of their starters and still beat the seventy six ers.
But it's what happened didn't happen in a two and
a half hour window at it at Intuit Dome in
Los Angeles between the Clippers and Warriors, and even the
outcome of the game. I know Monty cares about the
outcome because of course I do. It was in favor
of the Clippers, and the Clippers get another victory. They
(02:16):
are hot as of light. But it's everything that happened
within moncey. How did you enjoy watching the game last night? Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Let me tell you, Dan, I didn't get to it, really,
the damn game. I loved here yesterday, and I said
to you, I was like, I have so many errands
to run.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I had a plan, y'all. I was like, I'm gonna
do this. I'm gonna do this.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I'm gonna do this, and then I just have to
be home ready to have some dinner at seven o'clock
so I can watch the Clippers and the Warriors.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
I do all the things I want to do.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
I get home and I like start making my food,
and I started looking for the game.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
I like, okay, no on.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Nbc're like, okay, now, let me go to the sports.
The Sports channel will get me to it. Maybe it's
on Sometimes it's on KTLA, you know. Sometimes Yeah, So
I'm like, okay, I just haven't found it. So then
I'm like, okay, am I crazy? Is the game not today?
And then I go on the internet and then I
see that it's on stupid peacock.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Okay, it's not stupid.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yes, no, it's stupid. It's stupid.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I was so mad, Are you flipping serious?
Speaker 4 (03:14):
I could not believe this.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I love that Manci is the youngest one of any
of us here, and she doesn't have peacock. I have peacock, Sam,
do you have peacock. Yes, we're both peacocking around Jason,
you have peacock. Yes, yes, Isaac glowing crown thumbs up
to the peacock. Absolutely, all right. Four out of the
five of us, four out of the five. It's it's
(03:37):
right now. It's an audio medium, it is. Yes, you
don't need to know what is visual medium.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
You know what he actually said.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Listen, I why do you have everything else?
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Too?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Like I don't have Hulu? Okay, I don't have Paramount Plus.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Okay I don't.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
I don't have Discovery Plus. Yes, we've got Netflix, We've
got Amazon, We've got Peacock, we have Apple, we have
HBO Max.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
I literally have all of that, no peacock, but I
have Hulu. So it's like I can't.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Doesn't Hulu have Live Sports? They tried to tell us
that for like four straight years.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
They really did, They really just last night.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yes, no, no other sports that you want to like, I.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
You want me to. I didn't get Peacock.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Whenever it was that Patrick mahomes out of an NFL game,
I don't know. It was a Black Friday like two
seasons ago or something, and I think it was on Peacock.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
I don't know. I didn't buy it. Then I'm not
gonna buy it.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
Now.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
What am I gonna watch on Peacock.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
There's no reason for just to watch these one off
games like I hate this, especially because it's a local game.
Put it on Peacock for somebody who's not in LA
to be able to watch it, but I here in
LA should be able to still watch that.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
So the NFL, when they put a game on a
streaming service like Amazon Prime, and that includes that what's
gonna happen this Saturday night between the Packers and Bears,
will have the game on a local channel when in
any NFL market, it will always be provided by a
local channel in that market, so you do not have
to sign up to the streaming service. I can under
stand while you are under that impression that it may
(05:03):
be available to you in that window, But I'm just
amazed because I felt like I was the get off
my lawn guy by only having so many streaming services
and you being the youngest one here being frustrated about it.
And we're going to get into some data later on
Amazon Prime in the NFL that shows that the NFL
is having great success with their streaming options, even with
(05:26):
putting the games on in local markets, and that the
age group of the streaming markets and the streaming numbers
are very very interesting. I thought someone like you would
have you either would have already had peacock m hmm,
or you just would have said, all right, this is
what I have to do to get it, and I'm
signing up for it. I'm pretty surprised that you were
(05:47):
just like, no, not going to do it. I've drawn
a line. I had other plans, but I guess my
plans just won't go as I thought them tonight.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
It is just so honestly, it's just so unfair if
you think about it, and I know life is not fair,
but yeah, I'm not gonna give in just for these
one off games when I have nothing else.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Get with the times, MONSI clearly I'm the loser here.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I didn't get to watch the game, so it.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Does matter that I'm over here upset because I'm the
loser here, I have to apparently give in to Peacock.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Well, this is what you missed last night. Okay, by
not giving into Peacock, you missed another sign of the
end of the Warriors dynasty era, however you want to
put it. It's been a few years since they won
an NBA title. Klay Thompson's no longer there. But when
you start to see the cracks with Steve Kerr, and
(06:39):
I saw a couple of photos a couple of weeks
ago that I'm like, WHOA, Steve Kerr is feeling it,
like you could see it in his face. So last
night he gets ejected. And we'll get to the call
on Peacock in a second, because that is another whole
part of this Monday night experience with the Clippers and Warriors.
But this is now Steve Kerr getting ejected on a
goal tending call and having to be held back by
(07:03):
Gary Payton the second and Terry Stotts, his head coach.
Steve Kerr was so mad he was actually on the
Clipper side of the court. All of a sudden, Ty
low ends up walking into the shot because Steve Kurr
is so mad. This is a couple of weeks removed
from him kicking Draymond Green from the bench, and Manzi
when you look at the landscape of the NBA, and
even Bill Simmons on his podcast is floating trade Steph
(07:25):
Curry to the Hornets and Steph can wrap up his
career back home in North Carolina. Monzi's shaking right towards that.
But people are starting to see the end of the
Warriors run. And I think that's Steve curR is as well.
He's in the last year of his contract. The Warriors
right now are sitting there in the eighth spot in
the West. They've tried, They've tried most everything. They've tried
(07:47):
most everything to keep this thing going. And I think
the most disheartening thing about it is when you look
at the top and I know Oklahoma City is like
six and six in the last twelve games. However, there's
still four games up on the San Anton Spurs for
the best rucon in the Western Conference. So now you
have to contend with the roster building of Sam Presty
in Oklahoma City and what they have there. You have
(08:08):
to deal with the freak Victor Webin Yama and both
of those teams are young. Mmmmmm, Really the writing is
on the wall, like if for those days and to
see what this has done. And the point with Kerr
last night, Steve Kurr lost it at times, but this
is January fifth, right, and he loses in a game
(08:29):
to the Clippers that sure maybe at some point could have,
you know, an effect on the standings, but it's not
like it's March twenty eighth and you're battling for a
play in or a six to seventh spot. Like he
just he lost his mind, and usually when that happens,
it's because of other things. And when he apologized for
what he said to Draymond Green when we didn't hear,
and I know Jason was kind of struck by what
(08:51):
Draymond had to say as well. That stood out to
me that I sided with Steve Carr immediately and kicking
Draymond out. But Steve Kerr felt that he went far
enough in a place where he needed to apologize to
his player. And that tells me that it's almost done
for Steve Kerr, and that means it's almost done for
the Golden State Warriors. You were kind of struck by
what Draymond said in his response to their interaction a
(09:15):
couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Jay, so after the fact he had gone I think
he went on his podcast or maybe it was the
press conference afterwards, and he said something interesting. He's like,
when he was trying to defend his actions at the game,
he said, I don't know, if you're good at with
being fourteen and fourteen, then you're good with being forty
one and forty one. And that's not acceptable to me,
(09:36):
justifying him going off on his coach in the middle
of the game. And I thought, in that moment, I remember,
so you're basically telling your teammates, You're telling the world
that your teammates and your head coach are good with
fourteen and fourteen. I thought that was pretty dismissive. That
was that was not a respectful thing to say about
your teammates.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Or your coach.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
And when did he get injected? Because again I missed
the game.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
So when was this so ten days ago? Right?
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Well, no, no, no, no, yes, I like win in the game.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah, it was eighty one seventy four, like late third quarter.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
It was in the third cart.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
I just you know, again, I didn't watch the game,
so I don't know exactly. I saw that he got ejected,
but I didn't get the details of that. Yeah, it's
almost like the Warriors, like Steph Curry, the Warriors, Steve Kerr, Draymon.
They're like in a marriage, and the marriage really is
(10:28):
Curry and Steve Kerr, and then Draymon is the child,
and they're forcing the marriage to stay together until the
child is eighteen. And Draymond Green is like about to
be eighteen, and Kerr is like, I'm almost free, I'm
almost free from this madness. He looks so just over it,
like his fuse is so short. But I don't blame him,
(10:50):
because if I had Draymond Green as my kid, I
also would be losing my mind. I don't Draymond Green.
If you look, I think it's a joke. But it's
like ejection, ejection, ejection, injury, did not play I injury, ejection, ejection, ejection.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
I'm not kidding.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
I think that's how his last ten games have gone
for Draymond Green.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
I think that Draymond is obviously a toll on Steve
Kerr as a head coach, But I also think there's
a reason why the thunder are six and six in
their last twelve games. Like, we're in a spot here
of the season where we're almost to the midway point
of the year and we have the dog days of summer.
(11:27):
In Major League Baseball, I think there are dog days
of winter, and I think that the Warriors now I
have had enough of the season where in the playoffs
are far away, so you're not maybe necessarily in playoff mode,
but all of this stuff gets to you. And it
was eight minutes left in the game. It was eighty
one seventy four, but there were eight minutes left in
the fourth quarter at the time that he got tossed.
I think all of that's building up. But for a
(11:48):
guy that doesn't have a contract after next season and
they're sitting at the eighth spot in the West right
now with really no future prospects of going on a
d run, I just think it's all kind of building up.
And I think that now Steve Kerr is starting to
see that finish line, or incidents like this will make
(12:08):
him see that finish line coming up at the end
of the year.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
The games that I've seen that the Warriors have lost,
they are like up in the game, and then they
lose it when it comes to like the fourth quarter
and Draymond Green gets ejected. It's like, Draymond, the games
we've lost, they've been there, and as much as you're annoying,
you do still make a positive difference on the court.
You are useful there at the end in the fourth quarter.
(12:33):
But when you're not there, like what am I supposed
to do? And Curry's over here, Uncle Curry still doing
everything he can't, putting the team on his shoulder. So
I feel like this, honestly, it's like, how is this
all not Draymond Green's fault causing this for Steve Kerr
to feel this way to just be over it.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I think it's I think that Draymond bears some of
the responsibility and probably some of the stress that Steve
Kerr has. But it's also they're not winning. They're not
in titled contention. It's twenty twenty two is when they
beat the Outs for the title. You're now four years,
you're going on four seasons removed from that, so you're
starting to get a little bit away from it in
that window of like, oh, maybe we can run it
(13:10):
back and again Klay Thompson's not there. They thought they
could make moves with Jonathan Kaminga and didn't happen in
the offseason, so they're kind of just in a spot
and bringing in Jimmy Butler is was maybe the last
straw in it, Like you're not going to add another
player to that, yeah, like yeah, they tried. Yeah, it's
just but at least Jimmy Butler was a capable player
(13:32):
last year, where you bring him in, he's not happy
in Miami, you bring him in, like maybe this is
the piece to do it. And it's not that Jimmy
Butler is the top of the chain. It's just Golden
State's not going to do that again. They're not going
to go out and get Zach Levine to try to
add Like it's just so it's over. So it's done.
And I think Steve Kurr is starting to feel all that.
The great thing about last night again, Monci's not watching
(13:54):
Steve Kerr is getting tossed. While Steve Kerr is getting tossed.
Oop Dogg's on the call.
Speaker 7 (14:02):
Bacuum up Beck him up, GP Beckuum up, Steve Rady,
Steve Bangan Inglewood right now, Ale.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
You and Anglewolf's team.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
The Arizona wild Cat came out.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Look at it.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
That was my favorite part I I that far.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I can guarantee that in ten years, when Steve Kurr
is sitting down doing Draymond Green's podcast and Draymond will
be like, do you remember the night you were ejected
in l A And Curr'll be like, yeah, I think
Snoop Dogg was on the call of that game, and
they'll be like what They're like, yeah, go go look
it up, and that call will live an infamy for
(14:42):
how great it was in that moment. So who needs
Monday night football when you've got that action? Except Manzi.
She doesn't need Peacock. She's good without it. But everybody
else was able to.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
At least everyone else at least.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Draw something from last night's game between the Clippers and
Warriors and your team won and that.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
But I didn't see it until the end when it happened.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
But you saw Snoop Dogg.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
No I did, And I definitely saw it after.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
The Snoop dog that was so good.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
Back him up, Back him up, GP Beckuum up, Steve Rady,
Steve began Inglewood right now.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Angle, You're an angle.
Speaker 7 (15:22):
Wolf's team, the Arizona wild Canton came out and look
at him.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Great knowledge, I know so quick?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yes, great reference, like he planned it. It's almost too
good that did you know he was gonna get e directed?
Did you write this out ahead of time?
Speaker 8 (15:37):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I loved All of a sudden it just ingle whoa
like it came back from Uh yeah, great job. Maybe
you just looked at Reggie Miller's notes. But no snoop
news stoop snoop new that Steve Kerr was an Arizona Wildcat.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Fox Sports Radio had the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports
Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Fox or It's Radio. She's Monty Belano. So I'm Dan Byer.
Jason Stewart is here, as is Iowa Sam Isaac Lowan
Kron is at the news desk. Our NFL insider is
Adam Kaplan? Find him on Exit Kaplan NFL. As we
bring Adam in, I do want to let Adam know
(16:20):
did you wear a red and black flannel today? Adam Kaplan?
Speaker 5 (16:24):
I did not?
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Okay, neither did I now that did Manci. But but
I'm looking through the glass here at Fox Sports Radio,
and so is Manzi at two Lumberjacks. Sitting right next
to each other, Iowa Sam and Jason Stewart are wearing
very similar polos. They are both flannels. Yeah, it is
like Paul Bunyan times too.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah, you know it's funny, Dan.
Speaker 9 (16:47):
Oh, it's only happened a couple times to me in
television where you know, it's not like we know what
everyone's gonna wear. Like you you wear like a navy suit. Yeah,
one time at ESPN, I wasn't navy. It might have
been gray, but the gray was exactly the same. We
both wore purple tie and whoever it was, I just
(17:07):
remembered distinctly, Like, whoever it was, I won't name that person,
but someone you know, sure I'd be on TV with
a lot.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
We don't correspond, you know, with what we wear.
Speaker 9 (17:18):
We just you know, you have to wear this is
when you were sister, to wear shoes, not sneaks or cohons,
you know.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yeah, it's casual shoes, right, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Exactly right.
Speaker 9 (17:25):
I won't by the way, I when I'm on television,
you I will wear shoes. I don't wear cohons or sneakers.
I think it looks ridiculous, but that's just me, all right.
I joined the crew. I don't get it, but yeah, yeah,
so I wore we look very much the same, and
we got teased.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
But you know, it's okay, it's it's fine. Hey.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I've never I've never been thought of as a fashionista.
But I'll tell you what. You give these two a
couple of rolls of paper towel, and then I swear
in eleven of my grocery store walking into Hello, yes,
oh man. So the commanders are going to be shopping
for new coordinators. We'll talk about some head coaches.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
More coaches.
Speaker 9 (18:00):
Bottom told by the way they're they're gonna the offensive
staff is going to change.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
So I'm hearing mutual exit between Kingsbury and the commanders.
I'll tell you what happened, all right, let's hear it.
Give us the dirt. NFL in Center, Adam Capell.
Speaker 9 (18:12):
So, basically, it was more of a firing than a
mutual parting, and you could call they could call it
whatever they want. There it was philosophical differences, I'm told
with the Sourcess direct knowledge of it. Basically, dan Quinn
wanted to protect the quarterbacks more. He wanted more of
a run game based offense rather than pass game. Kingsbury's
phenomenal with a pass game. I mean, he puts together
(18:33):
a fine run game, but he wanted some and was
more aligned with what his thinking was. And that's a
one hundred percent why there was change. He wasn't coming back.
It just and I think with Cliff, Cliff is very headstrong.
I'm told by multiple people what to do with things
his We had nothing to do with the general manager.
I know there was a there's a rumor or something
out there.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
It's not true.
Speaker 9 (18:53):
It's I'm not saying the front office was happy with Cliff,
but it's just there was You remember when I'll give
you an example when Brian shot was let go by
Pete Carroll. I've probably told the dam over a time
on FSR together, Shoty did a great job, but Pete
wants to run the football. This is when you know
Brian Schottenhammer created let Russ Cook.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
That was his thing.
Speaker 9 (19:14):
In twenty twenty eight, twenty eight touchdowns in eight games,
which is he was he was headed to set an
NFL record, but their defense was bad and Pete, I'm
told blame shoddy because they couldn't control the clock with
a run game. Now, as ridiculous as that sounds, that's
the thinking now. Now dan Quinn's is different, where he
(19:35):
just he wants more of a run game bait. He
doesn't it sound like he doesn't want a pass game
like Pete wanted to hide the quarterback and just went
with running game and defense.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
He just thought, I'm told, so we can move on here.
D Q did that.
Speaker 9 (19:48):
He wants it more run based, and he probably shouldn't
have hired Cliff because that's not Cliff steal, but it
is what it is.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Well, last year was such a magical run. But it's
all connected. Like I didn't think that Pete Carroll when
he made the movie Shotneimer. They were pace for having
the worst defense in NFL history like that year, and
I don't think that Carol wanted that on his resume.
But also it's not it's not coincidental that the defensive
coordinator for the Seahawks and their Super Bowl win was
Dan Quinn. So yeah, so there would be you know,
(20:15):
so the the the thinking would be the same. Just
one quick follow up on Kingsbury because I had heard
that the knock on him. Was that coming out like
Gangbusters kind of like last year, kind of like Arizona did,
but things plateaued. Is that a concern maybe for him
getting another head coaching job, or if you were to
land somewhere that after a while people kind of catch
(20:36):
up to what he's doing.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
That's been out there.
Speaker 9 (20:40):
It's it's it's what what I find interesting is like
we say the Kingsbury in the run game, well, you know,
they had one of the best run games in the
National FOOTBA League this season. You would probably wouldn't know it.
I was shocked when the numbers were given to me.
You know, they didn't have Austin Eckler was a third
down back. That certainly hurt them. They were zach Ertz
towards ACL. They had a number of injuries at receiver.
(21:01):
I mean that that contributed to part of it. I
think you gotta also look at the personnel, like he
wanted Kyler Murray in Arizona because you know he recruited him,
yeah at Texas Tech and they also, by the way,
strangely have the same agent. Yeah, I think there's something
to it. It's very good early than it kind of
fizzles that There's there's some truth to that, but he
(21:22):
wants to run his offense a certain way. I just
never like, Look the funny thing. You made a good point, Dan,
it was magical last year. But when you when you
go through the injury situation that Washington's probably one of
the worst in the team history. Arizona, by the way,
the Cardinals had the most man games missed, but the Commanders,
I'm sure Slash Redskins had the worst injury situation they've
(21:43):
had in twenty five years. It was just brutal on
both sides.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
Of the football.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Do you think Sean McDermott is on the hot seat,
Adam or does it depend on what happens.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
It's a good point.
Speaker 9 (21:53):
It's it's been brought up to me over the years
and I always say, no, it's not true, and it
wasn't true. This one is interesting because Shawn is fired
a bunch of bunch of coaches over the years, a
bunch of coaches have left, retired and he's the last
man standing. Really a lot of turnover on both sides
of the football, which is not uncommon when you've been
there nearly ten years. But and he hit him and
Brandon Bean have turned this thing around. They work together
(22:15):
in Carolina. I think I think it's worth watching if
they lose in the first round. I've learned my lesson
never to say never with these things. I would certainly
be surprised. Now what I what I do is I
use this term he'll be on watch for next season
if they lose in the first round. The term is
on watch, like that's you got to watch this thing
for next year. He certainly could certainly could happen next year,
(22:37):
no doubt.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Adam kaplan our NFL in center joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio. She's Monty Blagno. So I'm Dan Byer.
You can hear Adam on the Inside the Birds podcast.
I also see him on Sports Grid and here I'm
right here on FSR. What about John Harbaugh and Baltimore.
I didn't expect it? What we should watch it?
Speaker 9 (22:54):
Oh yeah, Dan, I I'm gonna give you a little
bit of insight here.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
So you know over the years, Look, every three or
four years.
Speaker 9 (23:03):
Would be some consternation, some some behind the scenes with
their front office. They they'd like to see this done
of that done. This happens in every front office, so
it's not unnatural but I check you into what I'm told.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
No, we're just things need to be better. Har hars
Harby's aware, he'll take care of.
Speaker 9 (23:18):
It and things would be right. Everything's fine. But there
was a column by Mike Preston. He used to be
a beat reporter for the Baltimore Son and became a columnist.
He's very plugged into the front office. He knows a lot.
And something came to my attention by a very high
level coaching source with another team, who must know the
Ravens coaches. I didn't ask, but I could tell he
(23:38):
knows a lot, and he said, look, there's something to
the Lamar Jackson and Harball thing.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
I know. Harble denied it strongly.
Speaker 9 (23:45):
First of all, if you're horrible, you're never gonna admit
that there's anything wrong or ever or you have any issue.
But you know, considering if you if he decides to
resign and he what's another job, He'll never say it,
never negative thing, will never admit to anything.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
You know, you don't do that.
Speaker 9 (23:58):
But I think that based on I was told yesterday,
I feel strongly that there's something that Harball is not
happy with. And you know, also when Sean Payton resigned,
you know, when he took the year off. You know,
as a couple of people told me, there becomes a
time where you know what.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
This is.
Speaker 9 (24:15):
I've been here a long time, We've we've enjoyed credible success.
It's time for change. And what really means sometimes is
I think I'm gone as far as I can with
his team, and that that to me is part of
where I believe from what I'm told Harball's at. But
we'll see what happens. He I'm not saying he won't
be back that I don't see them getting fired. I
don't know if you know this. By the way, do
you know he's a neighbor of the gm R DaCosta?
If you know that, oh I did not. Kind of weird, Yeah, yeah, weird.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
But anyway, Oh, there are bffsh Do you think to
a tago Ailoa is going to be on the move
after making those comments yesterday that it would be dope
well for a fresh.
Speaker 9 (24:48):
Start, Montsie, good luck trying to move his fifty four million.
No one's taking that contract. So what will have to happen?
Speaker 5 (24:53):
Now?
Speaker 9 (24:54):
First of all, you got to find I know there
right now, my count I do it like a quarter.
Do we know who our quarter count? As I'm up
to six, I think it's Miami. Mia is no idea
who their start will because they're gonna have a new GM.
It won't be too but look, in all reality, they're
gonna either cut him, oh fifty four million, it's fully guaranteed,
(25:17):
or they're gonna have to eat a lot of the
money and find somebody who will take him and say,
you know what, we'll let we'll we'll bring him in
to be in the mixed guy is let's him compete
for a role, but that that'll be minimum money. It's
just he's a certain type of quarter He's a West
Coast offensive quarterback. He doesn't have a strong arm. He's
got to throw his timing and anticipation. If he doesn't,
he's cooked. Because he's got a small body. I know
(25:38):
he's built his body up, but he's not gonna be
any taller than six to one. He's not gonna be
two fifty to forty two thirty. It might be two ten,
two fifteen now with the with with his frame, he's
put some muscle on, but he is what he is
and he's not gonna be for most of the league.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
It.
Speaker 9 (25:54):
I know Justin Herbert some people think he's overrated, but
what one of the many things that costs Chris Career's
job as a Dolphins GM is deciding to drift two
over at Justin Herbert.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Adam Kaplan joining us here. Who are your six teams
looking for quarterbacks.
Speaker 9 (26:09):
Who don't know? Well, I'm gonna put one in there.
We got to see how Bryce Young looks. I know
Bryce Young has improved the season now, he's been wildly inconsistent.
I don't get the like by the way, his fifth
year options do may second, So just keep an eye
on that. Arizona has no idea who their quarterback is
going to be. That's certainly gonna be one of them. Atlanta, well, guys,
(26:31):
they they hope that Michael Penniks.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Will be ready.
Speaker 9 (26:34):
They don't quite know where that's going. The Jets have
no idea. The Raiders have no idea. They owe eighteen
point five million fully guaranteed next season with Guino Smith,
but that's not going to stop them.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
From moving them.
Speaker 9 (26:48):
The Browns sudur will be in the mix. They don't
know yet who their starting quarterback is going to be.
I just mentioned Miami. The Colts don't know who their
quarterback is. It's actually seven, to be honest with you,
it's not a comment. Oh and now Pittsburgh would be eight.
Speaker 5 (27:03):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 9 (27:03):
Because Aaron Rodgers is not on a contract, they want
him back, he just has the side that if he
wants to come back. But did he played well against
Baltimore the other night?
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Yeah? Really did. And I think he should come back,
whether it's there or Minnesota or wherever. But I think
that there's enough there that.
Speaker 9 (27:21):
Oh, you know the Minnesota now, now they're gonna have
it in a mixed guy. They're gonna they're gonna do
the Daniel Jones thing. As my understanding that that's kind
of what I think is gonna happen there.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Do you think the Eagles messed up and not playing
the final game of the regular season to try and
secure the number two seed, Well, Monty.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
Was very odd, like they just say okay.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
So Nick Sirianni is very I've known this for a
couple of weeks that they're going to wrest their starters,
But what I didn't know was why are you gonna
play like three or four year starters on defense? I
thought that was very I know you can't rest everybody
because you don't only have so many game day spots
available on you.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
You know, some positions you're not. You're pretty thin on.
Speaker 9 (27:58):
But jaylex Hun, who has had a breakout, he's in
as an edge rusher, He's a quasi starter. He played
a ton of snaps. Jordan Davis played, which surprised me.
Who's had a breakout season defensive tackle. Yeah, they that
was a little bit odd. Now it was the right
decision because this really Andy Reid told me this many
years ago. Although he's kind of changed his mind in
(28:20):
Philly anytime to rest guys, he just wasn't playing the starters.
He wouldn't do it now with Kansas City for the
season when they had stuff on the line, if he
thought guys needed to work, he'd play them. Bill Belichick
was like that, he didn't care what the media thought.
I just now what I found interesting.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
Moncie.
Speaker 9 (28:36):
I don't know if you caught this. To get DeVante
Smith is one thousand yards, which he got. He got
one thousand and eight he started, and Tanner McKey, the
backup quarterback, is one of the best backups in the NFL.
The last pass that he caught for the one thousand
and eight yards. It was over two defenders. I mean,
I know the guys like Gumby, he can get knocked
down and get up. That was a risky pass, Like
(28:57):
I thought, it was way too risky actually to put
the guys into shouldn't have played. But I get it
from a total hands from a total health standpoint, you
want to get and he told me this, this phrase
I've never forgotten. My job is to get to my
guys to the next game, which is really what Nick
Siriotti said last week.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
All right, Adam kap on our Fox Sports Radio NFL
Insider Here, I'm on the Inside of the Birds podcast.
Also see him on Sports Grid. Find him on Exit
Kaplan NFL. As we get closer to the games, we'll

That's what happened. Las Monsey did not see the Clippers
Warriors game because she refuses sign up for a twelfth
streaming app.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I'm not doing it service, I will say.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
In Isaac's update, Matt Eberflus, we just talked about Brian
Schottenheimer and the offense, Like the Cowboys offense looked great,
Lamb Pickens, Javonte Williams had a great year. Then he
trade Micah Parsons away. I mean, like, what are you
supposed to do? I just kind of want to stick
up for the easy targets. Like at some point I
think that I don't know if Eberflus is the problem,
(30:31):
but to what we just mentioned in Seattle, when the
Seahawks offense was taking off with Schottenheimer, the Cowboys offense
was taking off with Schottenheimer. And that's actually difficult on
the defense because they kind of need to work together,
and Eberflus becomes the fall guy. You don't have Micah Parsons.
You're bringing in guys mid season. Probably not the easiest situation,
but tough one for Matt Eberflus.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah, it makes you think maybe it just wasn't working.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Aside from that, just.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah, I think it was in an no win situation. Yeah,
and he becomes the fall guy.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
Right.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
She's Moncy Bolanos. I'm Dan Byer.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

App Fox Sports Radio. I'm Dan Byer. She's Monty Bilangos,
hanging alongside the Browny Brothers, Jason Stewart, Myles Sam. It
is Bronny, It is really is. And I felt that
that is way more relatable than Paul Bunyan. I feel
like Paul Bunyan maybe isn't a story that has continued
(31:32):
over time. It was a story when I was younger,
but maybe not now. But honestly, you give Jason and
Sam a roll of paper towels.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
We can do that.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Yeah, there it is. Yeah, I think we need a
full one. I think we need to puspecture up on
Bronni's much more contemporary though people are I think people
would know that gen Z's gen Z kids would know
bron Bronnie James too. There's how is that other than
I have a special edition of Bronni with Bronnie James.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
That's that's the Halloween costume.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I've been working on Manzi's Uh Bolanos in my mind
as Isaac dropped yesterday. If that's that's the name of
your event, we're gonna call it Manzi's Bolanos. And somewhere
maybe an affiliate will want to host some city across
the country. Let's get like fifty bowlers together and they're
(32:28):
going to go there and we'll do it at some
point right the inaugural Manzis Bolanos. So if you would
like Manzis Bolanos to come to a town near you,
let us know find her at Manci Bolanos. You can
find me at dan Byer on Fox. For over forty years,
Tirek has been out with customers find the right tires

of the day.
Speaker 8 (32:59):
Haw left handed dribble, crosses to the right hand, swings
it to Collins TUN's open right corner.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Three flipball.
Speaker 8 (33:06):
Chris Dunnan berries the three and the Clippers go up
ninety seven to ninety five seconds. Butler with four seconds
he dribbles, he fades for the wins. That comfort is
an airball. Three down on the fourth, cut it up
in the air and the Clips win one O three,
one O two. One more defensive stand up on a
(33:27):
night of defensive dominance.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Did you ever say in this AM five to seventy
LA Sports Clippers Radio Network?
Speaker 3 (33:34):
I did not, but I'm glad we went with that one.
I thought it was gonna be Snoop Dogg again.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
I thought I thought it was gonna be Kevin Durantz
beating the Suns on a game winner against his old team. Nah.
But instead, Yeah, this was better for Monzi on.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
The n I didn't get to see it, so at
least I just heard it.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
I envisioned it.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Will you be able to see the prime game on
Saturday between the Packers and Bears. Yeah, I think a
lot of people were surprised in being able to see
that game or have that game beyond the streaming service.
Maybe you thought the NFL would try to bury it.
They had the exact opposite way of thinking. The Chicago
Sun Time says that when the NFL schedule for the
first wild Card weekend of the playoffs came out, every
(34:12):
network wanted forty nine Ers Eagles or Packers Bears. The
prime window is the middle game on Sunday, the late
afternoon game, and that went to San Francisco in Philadelphia,
a game that will be on Fox. The other prized
game was Packers and Eagles, and the default setting is, well,
(34:34):
let's just put that on Sunday night. That usually gets
the nod in the regular season. But the NFL, according
to the Sun Times, decided let's reward our streaming package
and try to get more people there. But it's not
because people haven't been going to the streaming package. In fact,
some of the numbers passed along by the Chicago Sun
(34:57):
Times and what Prime has done is that Prime is
the best viewership in the twenty year history of Thursday
night football. So they averaged fifteen point three three million
viewers for every Thursday night game, And it sure seems
with this move to be able to for the NFL
to push streaming even more so into the forefront.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
You know, I'm actually not super surprised to hear that
because I feel like Amazon and Amazon Prime are everyone
has that because it's not just a streaming service. It's
what it comes with, right, like the movies and the
shows and all that. I feel like that's just a
bonus to why you originally got Amazon. And I feel
like nowadays people don't even have the network television. Like
(35:41):
everything is streaming. So some people don't have access to Fox. Yeah,
and they actually have access to Amazon Prime.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
Sure, Jason Stewart, I was surprised. I was surprised by
that report that the average viewer of broadcast television is
fifty five years old and that the average age of
Prime viewers for.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
NFL is.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I feel like that's what it is. It's like nobody
has network television. Everyone is just streaming stuff. So I
know I have a friend who like can't watch ABC,
Fox like all.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
The she doesn't have that. It's you know, have YouTube TV.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
No, they don't have YouTube TV either. They just have
their streaming services and then they occasionally maybe we'll get
something for like the day, but if not, they don't
have the you know, local channels.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
This is this is the key point, because I don't
think it's get off my lawn people anymore. I actually
think it's maybe people like Manti just making a decision.
I'm not gonna have that service of people fifty five
and up. Thursday night football viewership increased nineteen percent from
last season. That was the biggest jump among age demos.
So the fifty five year old and older are like,
(36:49):
all right, we're gonna get on board with this, not
we're not gonna watch anymore. We'll just take what we've got.
I thought that that was very interesting that even the
older people are saying, all right, we're in. We're going
to do this, and not just a band of the.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Sport, because because Amazon Prime comes with Amazon the benefits
of Amazon in itself, and I think that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
She's Moncey, I'm Dan Tuesday Morning Quarterback is next
