ten thousand recommended dollars tyrat dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
It's way tire buying should be. U do uh?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
The the movie Animal House? I do feel like it's
a dated reference, right that, Like Monsey is so much
younger than I am, and so much younger than Jason is,
and obviously younger than Sam is. So if I say,

(01:06):
Monci Animal House, have you seen it? I expect the
answer to be no, I have not. That's an old movie, correct.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I actually have seen parts of it because at Universal Studios,
I work there as a tour guide and it filmed
there part of it, so like I had to learn
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
That's okay.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yeah, so, but you're right, But you're right. I would
not have known what this movie is if it wasn't.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
For right, it was.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Animal House is nineteen seventies, absolutely, and even though it was,
it was one of those movies where every college guy
ever has watched it. That's in the eighties and maybe nineties,
and I'm like the last generation of people that still
would watch and love that movie.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Is that fair? Jay stew that's fair.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
So like people dropping in even Caddyshack references are really dated,
Animal House is dated.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Sam, have you seen Animal House?

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (01:58):
Absolutely many times.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Okay, So when I say, you know, the famous bellution
line from that movie is what what do you think
the most famous pollution line is?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (02:10):
Either, what are the Pearl Harbor? When the when the
Germans bomb Pearl Harbor?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Was it over when the Germans bomb Pearl Right?

Speaker 7 (02:19):
That's probably the most famous, Like Spiel he does.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yes, I think I think those are the two. First
he does the ZI which leads to the food fight. Yes, well,
let's a food fight, but I think it's was it
over when the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor?

Speaker 7 (02:32):
Yep, he got it a little mixed up there, right.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
I think Jason Kidd dropped a similar line, only it
wasn't scripted in a movie. Okay, let me paint the
picture for people who missed it. Last night, Luka Doncik
returned to Dallas first time ever since he's a member.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Of the LA Lakers.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's a video tribute and Luca, those didn't look like
faked tears. He looked like he was getting emotional before
the game. Here's Luca talking about that reception from the
Dallas fans.

Speaker 9 (03:04):
It was a little bit of both, you know, happy
and angry. But you know, it's nice to see some
familiar faces here. You know, I spent a lot of
times with them. Like you said, you know, there was
a lot of emotions. When I woke up, I was
tired and din lie, I didn't sleep much. I'm excited
about this game, and I really appreciate the fans the
way that reacts.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
It to me.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Here's Luca talking about it being time to move on.

Speaker 9 (03:30):
Everybody saw me the way I reacted to the video.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
You know, all these fans, I really appreciate it.

Speaker 9 (03:35):
Man, all the teammates I had, you know, everybody had
my bag, so I.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
Mean, I'm the happy you know this guy. I love
these fans, I love the city.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
But it souncks move on.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
So Luca probably goes out and drops forty two. They
win the game, and what is it? Humiliation galore? And
then after the game Jason Kidd and this is one
of the old timers. This is Jason Kidd after the game.
Ascuse me before the game and take a listen to

(04:09):
the trade that he compares it to.

Speaker 10 (04:13):
This is a business. It happens, right, trades happened. This
won't be the last trade. Some of compare it to
Babe Ruth, which is kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Okay, look, I don't profess to be a baseball historian.
I don't know everything about past trades. Matter of fact,
what's the baseball writer?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Jay is?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
The first name is Jason. He used to work for ESPN.
Jason Stark wrote a book about the worst trades in
baseball history.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Right, I don't know if you guys have ever written
read it.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
There's some a million terrible trades in the history of
Major League Baseball, but the worst trade in the history
of the sport, without anybody's, without any question, is when
Babe Ruth was traded from the Red Sox to the Yankees.

(05:13):
Not only did Babe Ruth go on to become the
most prodigious home run hitter in the history of the
sport when World Series after World Series after World Series
and is still the most famous name in the history
of the sport, the Boston Red Sox went on to
not win a World Series for eighty six years, and

(05:34):
it was called the Curse of the Bambino, which is
Italian for what it was like, an Italian nickname for
Babe Ruth. Right, Jason Kidd coaches for the Dallas Mavericks.
If we're analogizing this as hey, it's like the Babe

(05:57):
Ruth trade, and that's cool. In in this episode, the
Dallas Mavericks are playing the part of the Boston Red Sox,
the New York Yankees. The La Lakers are playing the
part of the New York Yankees. In other words, if
you're comparing the trade to the Babe Ruth trade, your

(06:20):
boss pulled off the worst trade in the history of basketball.
Jason Stewart, am I wrong for that? As the breakdown
of the misused analogy.

Speaker 11 (06:32):
True, because if you want to if you want to
take a look at this analogy. Yes, Jason Kidd represents
the Red Sox in the baseball analogy, so nothing's cool
about the trade.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
And then if there's no Reds, there's no Red Sox
fan evers, it's like, hey, smitty, member, we traded Babe
Ruth a great trade.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Great trade, right, that was awesome. That was awesome.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, yeah, that's cool. That's that's that's cool.

Speaker 11 (06:54):
Maybe they got to return in the trade where one
of the guys had like a good month of April
and ben like, man, we got away with murder on
this trade. And then eighty six years later, you know.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
Yeah, that guy is long dead and buried.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah. Yeah, the Babe Ruth trade is not cool. There's
nothing cool about it unless you're a Yankee fan. I mean,
this is this is Jason Kidd saying.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
That boat.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Oh come listen, I got a boat you don't reminds
you of reminds me of the Titanic. Let's go, let's
go take a let's go take a cruise in this
this boat. It reminds me of the Titanic.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
You know, they're saying that this is like the Titanic.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
They're saying they're saying, this boat's like the Titanic. I
don't know. It actually sounds a.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Little bit like Trump saying that stuff. Hey, they're saying
I'm the greatest president ever. I don't like who says that. Like, Ah,
I'm just I'm hearing it. There is the things I'm hearing.
I'm hearing that blimp trip reminds them, like we should
go take this blimp trip over Europe. People are saying
it reminds him of the Hindenburg. I can't wait. That's cool.
Play it for me one more time. It's so bad,

(08:05):
it's really good.

Speaker 10 (08:06):
This is a business. It happens for trades happen. This
won't be the last trade. Some of compare it to
Babe Ruth, which is kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
But some of it it's like Babe Ruth. Hey, that's
kind of cool, Jason.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
You know, if they compare it to Babe Ruth, it's
the opposite of cool. For the Dallas Mavericks are your employer.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Hey, that's cool, that's cool. I mean, I listen. Cal
Berkeley is the number one public school in America. Uh uh,
Jake kidd that that doesn't reflect greatly upon your knowledge
of or use of, uh sports history In an analogy.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Hey, you know what this reminds me of?

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Huh, this reminds me I picked biggest disasters ever in sports. Hey,
they're saying, this is like the Herschel Walker trade. So
they're saying, yeah, only in this case, you're the Minnesota Vikings. Dude,
you're the You're the Dallas, You're you're the Yeah, they're
the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yes, go ahead.

Speaker 11 (09:14):
My favorite movie of all time is Boogie Nights. As
Dirk Diglar said, remember he was talking about all the
people that wanted to attack him, and he's like, you know,
just like when Napoleon was king of the Roman Empire.
You know, everybody, everybody wanted to defeat him. Every part
of that sentence is wrong.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Right, It's just it's just like as I started, as
I stated that was his was it over when the
Germans bottom Pearl Harbor?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Hell?

Speaker 6 (09:41):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Right?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
The first time Belushi reared his head as Jason Kidd,
you know, people are saying, well, like, what's the worst
sports radio show ever? You know, people were saying my
show just like that one. That's why when people say, hey,
you're like Cowherd, Like, oh, really the most successful Cowherd

(10:04):
and Dan Patrick most successful sports radio shows going on
right now America by all means comparison. Yeah, here's the
here's Belushi. What I think is the most famous line
from Anna Whiles with.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
It over when the sherman's bompo, Hello, forget it, he's rolling.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Forget it, he's rolling.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
You think somebody who was sitting there behind him, like,
whoever the the what they? What do they call the
sports the PR guy for the MAVs And he's sitting
there and somebody elbowed the PR guy for the MAVs.
Like right, Yeah, that one didn't make any sense at all.
He's like, don't worry, he's on a roll. Just let

(10:46):
him finish, right, let him finish. Let Russ Cook.

Speaker 12 (10:50):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Stug Otlib Show, Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio. I
got it up on my my screen. But Dan Byer
obviously a huge part of our show, and he I
don't understand. I do understand, but I don't understand. He

(11:22):
loves the Masters and loves watching everything in every part
about it. So what he does is he takes two
days off of work, and it's like, hey, this is
I'm gonna do him with some for my TV and
I'm gonna watch my favorite golf tournament.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I can't argue with it. But he also allows us
to like kind.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Of come into his living room and then he gives
us our master's updates, which I mean, I guess is cool.
But if you're gonna take the day off, Dan, take
the day off, okay. So give me this setup right
now at the palatial estate. Do you have this music
playing in the background. We do it multi screens. Are

(11:58):
you on your couch? Do you how often do you
do the do you pick up a club and swing
like you see on TV?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Give me the whole setup of the day, Dan.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
So Doug. Right now, we are in the upper level
of this master's compound. That is my house where the
broadcast equipment is. So I've got the main broadcast which
is on ESPN right now on the iPad, I have
the features featured group pairing, you know with Rory McElroy,

(12:28):
Aukshebatia ludvig Olberg currently in that featured pairing, Scottie Scheffler
or Featured Groups app. I got the scoreboard in front
of me just to reference anything that you may ask,
and yeah, just various notes and tabs looking up. I
was trying to track down how often Justin Rose has
been the first round leader at the Masters, because it

(12:50):
seems like he always is and he's had great success,
just not the ultimate success at Augusta National. But here
he is leading today, right now, with the two shot
lead over the rest of the ninety four players in
the field.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Okay, let's suck Scotty Scheffler, give me the again. We
just look at the numbers and it looks really cool.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
How did he actually play?

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Yeah, so he's actually about to finish off. He's got
one hole left to play right now. He's two shots
back of Justin Row. So he's at four under par,
which is not great news for everybody else in the field.
If Scotty Scheffler is coming in and playing like he has,
this is this is I mean, you talk about, you know,
horses for courses, Doug. If this is the third Master's title,

(13:37):
I know we're getting far away from ourselves. But if
this is the third Masters title for Scotty Scheffler in
four years, Tiger didn't even do that Tiger had his
a little bit spread out nineteen ninety seven, one two
oh five and then obviously the fourteen year gap until
twenty nineteen. But this is this would be some legendary stuff.

(13:57):
And considering what he went through earlier this year when
he cut his hand trying to make pasta with his
wife with a wineglass, for him to just get back
into sorts and continue his way pretty amazing. And it
was interesting earlier this week just even watching on the
Golf Channel is I've always felt that Rory McElroy, of
this group of players this breed, not Tiger included, because

(14:20):
Tiger's not playing, Tiger's past his prime, but of this
group that Rory McElroy was one a When it came
to if everybody was on top of their game, whose
game would you want? And there was actual debate on
the set on who would you pick? And some people
were taking Scheffler and others were taking Rory McElroy. And
that's where the game has become or has gone to.

(14:42):
And now Rory mccelroy is still looking for a major
after a decade drought, and Scotty's coming in picking off
masters left and right. Pretty crazy there's no weakness in
this game. There's no stress in his game, no bogies,
no blemishes on the scorecard today. So four under through
seventeen that's not good for the rest of the field
of Scotty Scheffer's doing.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
You know, Phil Mickelson has had these kind of weird
swings in his career where you know, for so long
it was, I mean, how many times has it given
away the US Open right in the past, and then
he he kind of as Tiger Wayne and he had
a couple comebacks. Phil was always so popular with the patrons,

(15:23):
but his his move to live seems to have changed that.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
On the surface.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
What's it like with the patrons now at the Masters.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Yeah, there's He's I don't want to say he's like
persona non grata, but for how we can consume it,
he is. He's not in a featured group by by
any swords. He's too over par through seventeen holes. Even
a couple of years ago when he ended up being
in second place, it was kind of a come from
behind rally for Mickelson. But it wasn't like CBS was

(15:52):
cutting to him on every single shot, And there was
some criticism at the time that maybe CBS and Augusta
National were doing it because he went to Live and now, Doug,
we're sitting here in twenty twenty five. We don't think
that there's going to be an agreement any time soon
between the PGA Tour and Live. And to me, the
Live guys not getting their their shine on a master's broadcast,

(16:15):
and specifically a three time champion like Mickelson. Tough to
put him on the broadcast when you're plus two and
right now eight back of the lead in the first round.
But it's just the point of we don't see them anymore.
And I know that Live's now got a TV deal
with Fox and it's you know the name of our
network as well, But this is three years of them
being kind of in no man's land and nobody knowing

(16:37):
where you could watch, and they went from you know,
streaming to the CW and so now they're on network TV.
It's a lot to make up. So the Mickelson like
evaporation of fandom, which is something you and I have
talked about, is crazy because it's it's like he's not
even there. And for a place that revers its past champions,
I mean, Fred couple shot one under today. I imagine

(16:58):
they're going to be going nuts over the next twenty
four hours that hey, boom boom, Freddy Couples is at
one under par and can make the cut again at AUGUSTA.
You're not getting that sort of love with Phil Mickelson.
I think it's because of Live, but I also think
it's because Live is just out of the forefront of
our minds with any of this, So it's very, very strange.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Stuck out lip show.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, we mentioned Rory and Bryson,
especially Rory yesterday as the most important guy for this tournament.
How's he look so far?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Rory? So far, so good? Front nine or excuse me,
the first nine got to get the master's lingo correct. Yea.
The first nine is playing a little bit easier than
the second nine is, and so Rory is yet to
start his second nine. He's one under par through seven holes.
So far, so good. He can't blow up. However, Doug,

(17:53):
there is this. I don't think it'd be great for
Rory to be wired to wire. I'm sure he would
love to have an eight shot cushion going into Sunday
as opposed to the four shot that he that he blew,
you know, fifteen years ago, fourteen years ago, you're not
gonna always have that big of a cushion. But I
don't think it would be bad if Rory was three
shots back going into the final round, two shots back,

(18:17):
maybe in the second to last group, because he's shown
that in the end he can turn it on in
final rounds. He shot blistering scores to shoot up the
leaderboard because there's no pressure, pressure, pressure, because you can
wheel and deal. If he's on top of the leaderboard,
I don't know if that's great for him, because everybody's
coming for you, and you feel this immense, immense weight

(18:39):
on your shoulders to continue to hold that lead as
long as he hangs around one under. Now, if he's
finishes at one under for the day, he's going to
be absolutely fine. You just don't want to be at
plus two or anywhere near that.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
What's it like with noil Uncle Verne at seventeen, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Verne at sixteen, it's now novel at sixteen.

Speaker 9 (18:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
The par three. It is funny because there was a
putt just made a little while ago. Terrell Hatton ended
up making a pot. I think it was actually May Ben, Scotti,
Scheffler and Nobolo got really excited about it, but it
just wasn't the same. Yeah, it was Scotty Scheffler's putt,
and you want to have that excitement, but there is

(19:20):
It's just something's missing. Announcers come and go, but to
not have Vern there this year is going to be
a little bit weird. Remember the tree meme last year
with Tiger when Vern was sitting behind the tree and
Tiger went shook his hand and looked like Tiger was
shaking the tree's hand. A magnificent image. I think Iowa

(19:41):
Sam would get a chuckle out of it if he
hasn't seen.

Speaker 7 (19:44):
I remember that.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Remember that wasn't that amazing?

Speaker 8 (19:46):
It was arm coming right out of the trunk. That's
something that should be framed and put into the Masters
of facilities, you.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
Know the funny thing about? Yeah, put it in the loover.
The funny thing about And I I may have mentioned
this on the show. His signature call was he stole it?
Did you know? Did you know that the yes sir
was not his? And so in nineteen eighty six, and
this is where Vern is known for Yes sir and

(20:16):
the putt that Jack Nicholas makes on seventeen. Vern has
admitted that he copied what ben Wright said when ben
Wright was calling Jack's shot on fifteen. So Jack makes it,
makes his put on fifteen, and ben Right's got a
you know, English accents, Yes, sir, so Vern when he

(20:37):
got it, that was my English accent. By the way,
when Vern has Jack make his putt on seventeen, it
was kind of like he was echoing that. But everybody
thought that Vern came up with it. But not only
did they not come up with it, he stole it
from a guy who used it two holes earlier. Pretty amazing.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
That's that's actually, that's that's crazy. Uh whether what's the
weather I'm I'm looking at it now. It's breezy, it
looks pretty dry. What's the weather look like for the
next three days?

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Yeah, perfect conditions right now for golf. Not perfect scoring conditions.
It's just perfect to play. So you're going to get
a little bit of resistance from the course. You shouldn't
see any wild scores. As I mentioned, Justin Rose is
six under par. He's making his way through a man corner.
If he stands at six under, that's going to be
a pretty darn good score. But sun is out, no

(21:27):
real advantages. Smaller field too, so you don't get a
huge morning afternoon the sort of wave sort of deal.
Even though everybody goes off the first tee, they start
a little bit, can start a little bit later in
the morning. Ninety five players in the field this year,
a little bit bigger. But you know, weather's fine, weather's perfect.
Nothing in the forecast for the rest of the day.
I think there's a chance of rain. In fact, Doug,

(21:49):
I do have the Augusta weather. I'll just bring it
up on my app here for the week. Chance of
rain tomorrow, sunny skies, mid to high sixties on Saturday,
seventy one high sunny skies on Sunday, so if there
are shours, it would come tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
All right.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Well, I don't know why you do this on your
day off, but I love that you do it because
I feel like I'm completely caught up on everything. While
I'm sitting here in my office. On the radio Masters
in the background, we get a Master's update unlike any other.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Have you ever been I've done, by the way, I
don't know if I have not, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
It's like literally and I could have gone my first
couple of years of CBS. They were I was like,
come to Augusta. The problem was I was gone for
a month and a half of the NCAA tournament, Like
I just need to get home.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Kids are little.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
We heard that Brody was out playing earlier today.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
I don't know if you.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Knew this, Dan, but they yeah, they they they, They
actually interviewed your son after he got done hitting at
some par threes.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
He had this to say, well.

Speaker 13 (22:57):
I've been doing the hardest to get over the grain happened,
practicing as hard as I can, just not reaching it
this year. But I'm just trying the hardest.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
There you go, that's how you get That's that's great.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
My son's not British. I did not realize that's great.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
As Tommy Fleetwood's son. Yeah, it's really weird. He gets
out there, he starts signing with a British accent. It's crazy, is.

Speaker 11 (23:22):
H So that was Tommy Fleetwood's son. Yes, is Tommy
Fleetwood related to Mick Fleetwood anyone? Honestly, that's an honest question.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
It does not feel like a common name.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
Now I'm going to look up.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
I just love that though. I think it's like, how
are you not getting it over the greed? And he
answers in such a matter of fact fashion.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
I'm just curious. Is Jason Doug says it's not a
common last name. I agree it's not common, but I
don't think it's like uncommon. Super yeah, super super strange.
Is it is there?

Speaker 6 (23:58):
Like?

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Is it the long hair? Is that the Tommy Fleetwood?
Being English? What do we?

Speaker 11 (24:04):
Yeah, it does kind of look like he looks like
the guy. But I just confirmed on Google. Really I
that they related.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
That's just the point Google AI says it. Then you
know it's true.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
I will go ahead. Sorry, Oh no, I was gonna
say Justin Rose is not related to Axl Rose. So
that is we can confirm that as well. Justin Rose
an Axl Rose no relation?

Speaker 6 (24:26):
Okay, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
I think the reason that I have to get there
is because you see it with some of these T shots.
Bryson Chambeau just hit a T shot right where he
just grips it and then it lands and you see
it in the fairway, and the fairway is literally like
at a forty five degree angle. And the part that
I've I've been told I haven't experienced on My own
is you don't realize that all the peaks and valleys,

(24:52):
literally at Augustine Ashtal, how much the walkie is uphill, downhill,
uphill downhill. It just does not translate on television.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
Correct. That is a theme that has brought up a lot,
And I'll give the listener who hasn't been there just
the opportunity to really judge it. Because the high point
of the property is on the tenth t and the
lowest point of the property is twelve. So if you
just watch play on ten, eleven, and twelve, you're going
to see him hit a significantly downhills t shot on

(25:21):
ten to an awkward lie downhill shot to the second.
Then you go to eleven, you have another downhill shot
on your second, and then you're hitting a cross rays
creek on twelve at Golden Bealty famous part three. But
that will give you the sense of the topography. And
from the high point of ten to the low point
of the twelfth green is the high and low of Augusta.

Speaker 11 (25:43):
There you go, by the way, By the way, I've
been down a Fleetwood mac rabbit hole the whole time
Dann's been talking here, and now I'm rooting for Sunday Final,
pairing Fleetwood Macelroy.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Oh play with maclroy?

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Yes, has anyone else before that would be good? Let's
go back to Tommy Fleetwood's kid on why he didn't
play well yesterday.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Oh stamps hit the button, doing the.

Speaker 13 (26:12):
Hardest to get it over the grain up and practicing
as hard as I can, just not reaching it this year.
But I'm just trying the hardest.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
I'm gonna say something else to this, Doug. I think,
do you have a hat? I know we have to
get to MANSI in a second, but.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I have them, but I've lost it.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Do you have a hat with upside down writing?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yes? I have those upside downs?

Speaker 5 (26:35):
Yes, yes, So I think Jose Luis Balister, who is
from Arizona State Spaniard, is wearing an Arizona Sun Devil's
hat like that it's a it's a company, Yes, I
get it, but I feel it's more fashion. I don't
feel it's competition. So like if you're wearing a hat,

(26:57):
and like this would be a hat you would wear
out of the club, right or just maybe going out
with the fellas. I never looked at that hat as competition.
So he's competing, right, now he's playing with Scotti Scheffler
in the same group. I understand that it's a company.
I just didn't think like that hat you would actually
wearing the Masters and it does. The Devil's is the

(27:18):
first word, son is the second, and it's upside down
or whatever. Crazy. I just I thought it was a
more fashionable hat. I didn't think that you would actually
wear it playing golf especial right, yes, exactly.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
And can women play there yet?

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Yes, there are female members, Jason, there are and Justice Thomas,
not related to Rob.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Thomas is a member out there, right, Yes she is.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
Yes. They just had the Augusta National Women's Amateur, which
is a great success.

Speaker 6 (27:52):
Related to Tony Rice.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
By the way, I.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Will I will pick on Dan a little bit where
when he said, you know, he's he's talking about about
Augusta and he doesn't have to. But generally I told
people yesterday, you know, one of the things when I
was at ESPN is if you have once they got
ESPN's ESPN got like the part three and I think
they had the they have the opening round right where
you weren't allowed to say anything bad about Augusta, Right,

(28:20):
That's that that was like a rule that was ridic
You are not allowed, if your rights hold her to
say anything bad about Augusta.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
And then you said great success.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
It does remind me of like kind of that borat
like and we had great success, but it is we
have the women out to play at the men's of
golf course. It had the great success.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
All right, you get back to watching golf. We get
to Mansie for an update.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
This is Doug Gottlieb Show, an update unlike any other
so kind of interesting.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
This campus is ridiculous. It's crazy or like high brow,
you like, can I go back to school?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, it's one of those things. I think it's like
seventy five thousand year.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
I'm just I mean, okay, I never mind, all right,
just a little above.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
It's it's a little.

Speaker 11 (29:10):
Above, by the way. I just want to make sure
the listeners know this. Only Monsie could pull off that
impression of her mother if.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
I did that.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Yes, yes, Jez, this is correct, exactly exactly, and I
still can't do.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
It that well. I wish I could.

Speaker 7 (29:30):
We love the gs.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Jiz.

Speaker 7 (29:32):
We don't know if you're referring to someone named Jess
or you're saying.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, jeez jeez yes,
Stut Gottlip Show. This is Fox Sports Radio coming up next. Uh,
we are going to get into in the game time.

(29:56):

Speaker 2 (30:11):

Speaker 1 (30:12):
At this time, we turn it over to in this case,
Montsublano's to say, let's play a game.

Speaker 12 (30:21):
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Hey there, months, well's that coach.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
It's Thursday, so we're gonna be I feel a draft.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
I feel a draft.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
I feel a draft.

Speaker 14 (30:38):
So we're gonna be drafting items specifically off the Masters
Concessions menu. I know Dan gets really excited about the
Masters because of the actual play.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
I get excited just because I want to eat.

Speaker 14 (30:52):
The food for the very reasonable prices that they have
the food.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
I want to eat the food so I won't drink exactly.
I think we all have the.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
List in front of us it's success.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
Right, So we're gonna drafting items off of the menu.
Just you know, for seventy seven dollars, coach, you can
get one of every item at the Masters.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Like, I don't get why nobody else does this? No,
I do understand.

Speaker 12 (31:19):
All right, we the order?

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Do I have the order in an email?

Speaker 7 (31:25):
Doug is up first here, so what is so we
can draft?

Speaker 1 (31:29):
We can pick anything off many what's our first thing?

Speaker 8 (31:30):
We'll pick out the drinks if you want a drinks
and one breakfast item and the rest drinks whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yes, the order is Doug, Sam Moncey, Jason, and we'll
snake back Jason.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Moncey one item, two.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
But two items in the Yes, the two rounds. But
it's one of one item correct?

Speaker 12 (31:51):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (31:54):
So you're up, coach.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Uh and again I think I think this is Ooh,
I'm gonna begin with a Pimeno cheese sandwich.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
All right.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
The logic behind it very good.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Pimeno cheese sandwich is synonymous with the South and with
Augusta National. So even though I'd be I'd want to
eat one of the other sandwiches more when I'm out
Augusta National, I gotta try a Pimeno cheese sandwich. That's
my first overall selection.

Speaker 8 (32:25):
Yeah, that makes sense, Samui Rob and I believe they
cut the crusts off and they put like the little
Master's flag in it. I saw a commercial last night
where they did this whole Master's introduction with the sandwich
traveling to one of the golfers and he sits down
eats it. That's how important the Pimento cheese sandwiches the Masters. Okay,
with the second overall pick for a price of I mean,

(32:49):
these are just this is just awesome.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
It is.

Speaker 8 (32:50):
It's just great. I'm gonna go with I to look
this up. The Crow's Nest off the beverages list, six dollars.
The Crow's Nest is similar to Blue Moon. Crow's Nest
is a Belgian wheat ale, So I'm going to be
drafting a beer. Second overall, that's my second pick is
the Crow's Nest wheat ale exclusively at the Masters.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Nice all right.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Third overall pick, I'm going to take an item that
is debuting this year at the Masters. It is the
for three dollars, the savory Tomato pie. It looks like
a little empanada and it seems like you can just
hold it and eat it, and like, I'm wondering what
else is in it? Maybe if there's a little cheese,
it'll be like a little pizza pocket.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
You know what I'm saying. I'm taking that for.

Speaker 7 (33:32):
Three dollars handheld pie there, Yes, suck hand.

Speaker 11 (33:35):
Foods sounds good, I know. As Sam was averting my
attention to the beverages, there's one item that's missing and
I can't believe it. It's Doug's favorite drink. He drinks
like nine of them a day. Why wouldn't there not
be Arnold Palmer at the Masters. Yeah, it's a good question.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
That is a good question.

Speaker 11 (33:53):
It sucks. I'm gonna go with the the chicken biscuit
off the breadth food. I love chicken biscuits. I could
eat them all day long. I mean, how much is
that chicken biscuit? It's a very very formable. You take
nineties prices.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
About chicken biscuit? Is you do need some honey with it?

Speaker 6 (34:09):
YEA? Some sauce?

Speaker 11 (34:11):
Yeah, And I'm gonna go with sauce. I have a
sweet tooth, So I'm gonna go with the Georgia peach
ice cream sandwich.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
That's amazing.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
That does sounds amazing.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
It's me get up in Georgia.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Yeah, all right, Well, I guess I'm gonna you took
my beer? Am I gonna be boring and just have
domestic beer? I guess because I definitely need a beer.

Speaker 7 (34:38):
You have cold white wine if you want for six dollars.
I mean maybe that's fairy.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Like what domestic beer or import beer?

Speaker 6 (34:46):
What?

Speaker 2 (34:46):
What? What beer are you going to have? Moncy?

Speaker 4 (34:49):
If I would, I would take an I P A.
Do they have an I P A?

Speaker 6 (34:53):
Well?

Speaker 7 (34:53):
If I think.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
It's pick a beer, you can order a beer.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
What kind of beer do you it would be?

Speaker 4 (34:59):
I don't say Goose Island?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
Just say Goose Island ips.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Goose Island ips.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Don't you just put why?

Speaker 6 (35:05):
Why are you trying to help her out?

Speaker 7 (35:07):
I don't think she knows ip as very well.

Speaker 11 (35:09):
She can't answer what beer she There's just so many.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
But it would be a hazy show.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
You're just such a chauvinist, really just trying to help
her out here, woman's right to suffrage, right to choose. Okay,
she was to choose your beer. I just gave a
suggestion your beer. No, you didn't say, you said pick.

Speaker 7 (35:25):
It Sammy Robbery, good, good one. Okay, this is what
I'm going to go with.

Speaker 8 (35:29):
It is going to be the the Chicken Salad on
honey wheat for three dollars.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Nice coach, your.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Last Georgia pecan caramel popcorn done? Game time, Mabe, This
