tire buying should be. Welcome in Do do do do

live from the tyrat dot com studios tyret dot com.
Whatpe you get there? Unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free
(00:46):
road as a protection over ten thousand recommendings dollars tyrat
dot com. It's the way that tire buying should be. Wow,
jailin Brown. Wow, what a night last night. What another
night for the Celtics. They get the big win, take
commanding two games to none. Lead Listen. I do have
plenty of opinions on the NCAA deal. On the settlement
(01:07):
of those three class action lawsuits and how I believe
it's being miss analyzed by many in the media. But
that's okay. What do I know, really, right? What do
I actually know? I don't know anything. Oh I know
a little bit more than well, definitely than you do.
(01:28):
But or then they do. But that's okay. They're writers
and they cover it and for whatever reason they want to,
you know, overthrow everything. But we'll get more into that.
Let's start with Jalen Brown. Okay, Jalen Brown did not
make All NBA. I did make All NBA, but he
does have a gigantic contract, so it doesn't really really matter.
(01:52):
Here's the Q and A with Jalen Brown after the game.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Was there any motivation for you after hearing that you
didn't make an All NBA team?
Speaker 3 (02:03):
No, I want to say that, what would you say?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
I mean, we two games from the from the finals,
so you know, honestly, I don't got the time to
give them.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
So Jalen Brown saying I don't. I don't give a rip. Right,
And Jason Tatum, I love the fact that people are
acting like Jason Tatum's been bad, didn't shoot the ball well?
From three ends up with twenty three a zero plus minus.
Jalen Brown was outstanding. Of course you hit the big
three in Game one as well, and uh, you know,
it's like fascinating to me on how we try and
(02:36):
find the flaw on a supermodel. That's what we try
and do. We try and find the flaw on a supermodel.
This is what the expectations are, you know. And the
Celtics you got a big night off the bench from
Peyton Pritchard. The Big two gave you combined sixty three points.
(02:58):
You know, Derek White ends up giving you twenty and
despite the fact they continue to play without Christos presingis
not even in uniform, they end up winning by sixteen
and essentially essentially led the whole way. Second second quarter
on led the entire way and an incredible night for
(03:18):
the Celtics. Although I hate the black Celtics uniforms, I
just do. You're the Boston Celtics, white at home, green
on the road. Other teams need the alternative uniforms because
they're not the Celtics. But other than that, to me,
it just displays what Indiana gave away a shot at
You don't get two shots at the King. Matter of fact,
(03:41):
if you've watched The Wire, the greatest line from one
of the greatest shows of all time is you come
out the King, you best not miss. And the Pacers
missed in Game one, and they're they're feeling the pain
in Game two, feeling the game in Game two, and
a lot of this. This also is what people don't
(04:03):
realize about the NBA's regular season is it can it
can present a picture of what of present a picture
of what it possibly is like in the NBA playoffs.
Here's what I mean. The Boston Celtics defense last night
was outstanding. Yes, the Pacers still shot fifty two percent
(04:25):
from the field thirty eight from three, but they turned
the ball over sixteen times. That ends up being really
the difference in the game. The Celtics get four more shots.
The Celtics got eight more three pointers, they made four
more three pointers, they made three more field goals, they
made six more free throws. They were the more aggressive team,
(04:46):
They were the better team defensively turning the Pacers over
sixteen times. How should you know that was going to happen?
Check out the defensive ratings in the regular season, where
the Celtics were number two in the league. And the
Pacers number fourteen really at that heart, really at that heart,
and credit Jalen Brown like he got it going. He
(05:07):
had a fever and they end up routing the Pacers
behind forty forty from Jalen Brown forty. So it's it's
still too early to call, but if if this was
the presidential election in this upcoming march, you would definitely
(05:29):
shade that state to be light green, thinking it's going
to be dark green if they win Game three. I
think it's a fair way of analyzing it, don't you.
I got a quick question for you guys. It is
a Friday. I don't want to just go hardcore into sports.
We still have we still have a discussion to have
(05:52):
about the NCAA, and it's really it's just a weird
thing to watch. Wait to hear what what Aaron Rodgers
said about the Jets. Mark Dominic's gonna join us, Antonio
Daniels to join us. But what's interesting about I saw
on social media was top five beers right post Moe
(06:15):
Beer Friday at five beer. And when I didn't know,
I mean, I guess I thought I didn't know that
I now occupy now live in one of the drunkest
cities in all of the Union. Also, by the way,
one of the top ten cities to live in in
the Union. Maybe that's what makes it livable, is that
(06:36):
everybody's drunk all the time. But I was wondering, you know,
like your top and I threw out first beer? When
you get home and there's a lot of kids are
going to get this this weekend and the next couple weekends.
Is they come home from college, right, not the ones
that are protesting, those ones they don't go home and
a beers. Right, But the first time you go home
(07:03):
and you've been at college and you open your fridge
and you grab a beer and you sit down next
to the old man, you go, right, do you want one?
That's the top five beer? Post mowing beer is big.
Friday at five beer is big. I've heard shower beer
is incredible. I gotta tell you, I'm not sure I've
(07:25):
ever had a shower beer. Jay Stu, would you like
to hop in on any alternative favorite beers?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Okay, so you don't want to go with the domestic
or foreign like mainstream beers. You want you want craft beers.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
No, no, no, I'm talking about the time and place
of the beer. Yeah, you understand. Have you ever done
a beer in the shower?
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Never?
Speaker 1 (07:50):
That's called a shower beer?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Right, Sam? Have you done the shower beer?
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yes, multiple times.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
What is so great about the shower beer?
Speaker 4 (07:59):
The showers hot, the beer is cold. You know you're
drinking in the shower. It's a novelty. You know, you're
getting getting primed up for the night out and getting
started while you're showering, you know, so it's saving time.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
It's efficient beer.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Lake beer also good as well. Lake Lake beer also
good as well.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
I I personally, no beer tastes better than after a hike.
You know, my super hot girlfriend Christina got me into hiking,
and anyone familiar with my social media and a lot
of you are trust me. I do a lot of
hiking on the weekends. And when you get done with that,
you know, five six seven mile hike, No beer tastes better.
(08:40):
And I'm gonna recommend a beer to listeners. I don't
know it's not I don't think it's a national beer.
There's a beer out of San Francisco called Anchor Steam.
You could still get it in markets down here in
LA and stuff. Oh delicious post hike beer good you
gob good?
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Cool? Yeah? Okay, so what about you, Monty?
Speaker 6 (09:01):
I have never had a beer in the shower.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I will say I've heard of that.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
I got a cocktail though anything ever consumed alcohol in
the shower.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
I've had had wine if i'm maybe you know, like
having a bath, reading a book or something, But in
the shower, I have not had a beer, even though
I know many people do.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I agree with Jason.
Speaker 7 (09:19):
After doing like a workout or like being out in
the sun, a beer is delicious. I like red beers,
but they're heavy, so I can only have like one
or two.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
But like if I you know, like a Jeremiah.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
Red from Bjy's. Oh you put that in front of me,
I'm in heaven. I love a Jeremiah Red, but I
also like a michaela Ultra.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I'm real simple.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
They're usually hiking in those commercials too, like they're on
a hike, and then they're like, at it's a beer
for active people.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
Oh calorie exactly, because then I can have more drinks.
You know, the better the beer, the heavier and the
more full you feel.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Where are we on golf beer?
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yes? Great.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah, during the round golf, it's.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, yeah. During the rest, oh, it's great.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Literally, especially like.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Right at the turn. Right, it's like one of those
things to where you it's like a it's like a
because you know, you get golf. Add you know, you
get to fourteen, you're like, man, But you know, first
T now, A lot a lot of it is what
time do you tee off? If you te off at
four in the afternoon, then you got to do first
t wh and then right and you start drinking your beer.
(10:27):
But if you tee off at like eight in the morning,
you got to get to where you get to the turn,
and now you kind of worked up a little lathering, right,
I'm right wrong? Or do you go beer right away?
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Oh? No, I mean I personally I think mid round maybe,
I don't know, fourth or fifth hole, when the cart
girl comes around. I don't know if cart girls put
a good correct anymore. The cart person it's typically a
super hot woman. Yeah, I'm willing to pay fifty dollars
for six beers. That's how that's how anxious I am
(10:57):
to get that beer in me. You know, mid round,
you know.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
There's nothing like of course when you go out and
they have the cooler already built into the back of
the golf cart, right yeah, and like all you got
to do is just just put him in there. Just
put them in there and put some ice on there. Oh,
that's an amazing experience. Okay, So if we have shower beer,
post workout beer of some kind. M h, what else
(11:22):
do we have? We have golf cart beer, we have
beer with the old man. What else am I missing?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
What about like after you've been you know, well, I
guess it would be working like gardening.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
I like, listen, I didn't necessarily like beer even in college.
And then after one of my seasons at Oklahoma State,
I did demo. Okay, and demo is incredible. It's so cool.
You just go in and just get to you know,
crush things with a hammer, with a mallet or whatever.
Just he just blow things up. The problem with it
is when you do demo, they have no air on,
(12:01):
so you're just hot and sweaty. You're blowing things up,
but you're also losing fifteen pounds. And I remember the
first day they were like, you guys want to go
and get a case and it was like five of us.
I was doing most of the interior demo, some of
the people were taking out stuff outside. I was like, yeah,
let's do it. Sure, let's do a case. And I
know I didn't like want a case of beer. I
opened that first one and drank it as I it
(12:21):
was like one hundred degrees in the afternoon outside. It
was amazing. It's amazing.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Reminds me of that final scene from an office space,
like you're one of those guys, you know, just just
get out here, fresh air, dirt on your pants, demolition man.
Speaker 9 (12:40):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Stug gottleep Show Fox Sports Radio. We were talking about
best kinds of beers. This song is called beer at
Create TV. Matt's bow nos down for a nice cool
beer after a nice hot session with my lead David says,
(13:13):
what about that softball game beer? One of the best
or during a softball game? Yeah, I mean like, look,
if you're a softball dude, you know, like softball is
just basically very little exercise while drinking beers. I don't know,
I just haven't gotten into softball enough. I mean, it's
like I frankly rather pickleball, but those are kind of
(13:35):
one and the same. With the golf beer though, feels
like it just feels like it fits. Plus it does
eliminate some of that golf stress. Let's get to the
NFL as Aaron Rodgers once again is speaking out. This
time he's talking about his team, the New York Jets.
Speaker 10 (13:51):
We are must watch TV and that's pretty obvious. Everybody
knows that, whether you love me or hate me, people
want to see me play. They enjoy watch me play,
and we are a team to watch this year. Not
surprising as far as us owen people. Yeah, that's fine whatever,
I don't care what anybody has to say about that.
That's that's great. Uh. You know, for me, it was
(14:12):
rough for the league. I get it. Me only playing
a few players last year. That's going to be different
this year. And uh, you know what happens when we
play him back this year with six great primetime games.
You know what are they going to say next year?
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Uh? It was it was tough for the league, oh,
because they had them scheduled on those big standalone games. Yeah,
I mean, but it happens. I don't know if it's
if the league is sitting there going like, if we
only had air Rogers, you wouldn't have record setting ratings
in the NFL. Oh wait, we did have record setting
ratings in the NFL. That said, they are must see TV.
People do want to watch someone in cheer against most
(14:49):
wanted you know, someone in cheer four. I still think
the Jets are the most over discussed team in all
professional sports. I mean, they have gotten the two ABC
championship games under Rex Ryan out side of that, very
little interesting stuff out with the exception of the fact
that they had Brett Favnir and Rodgers. That's truly it.
That's a level of interesting. Yeah, but you have so
(15:09):
many Jet fans in the media that I actually think
they get overcovered, not undercovered.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Doug, I haven't been able to tell you.
Speaker 6 (15:16):
Congratulations coach, Doug Gottlieb.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Good for you.
Speaker 7 (15:20):
I hope you're able to really manage still this job
and to successfully be a head coach in college. That
is amazing. Seriously, congratulations, I'm happy for you.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Thanks, you're gonna come out.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
I would love to. I would love to.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Yes, all right, sounds like trouble to me.
Speaker 6 (15:36):
Well, we're gonna have beers.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
What that sounded like was if you're gonna fly me out,
I'll go. I'm not gonna like willingly pay.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I think we're gonna have to do. I think we're
gonna have to do a Fox Sports Radio road trip
of some kind.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I would love that.
Speaker 9 (15:51):
I'm in.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yes, Yeah, Can I ask a question? Can anybody? I
guess I could look as well? While I'm talking? Do
the Packers play a weeknight this year? Let's see, right,
somebody somebody google that? M do the Packers play? I
know they play in sal Polo, Brazil. Have you ever
been to Santiago, Chile? Twice last year? Sorry, that's all
(16:15):
I can think of when I think of Salpolo bro Brazil.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
They play Thursday, November twenty eighth against Miami.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
That would be Thanksgiving Day? Correct? Oh? Is it? Yeah?
I don't think you guys will make it on Thanksgiving Day.
I could be wrong. Yeah, I just don't think you'll
make it on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
You're right, You're right.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I would recommend fifteenth of September. Fifteenth of September is
the home opener. That would be the first Packers game.
I'm going to go to Hey, Vikings the twenty ninth. Oh,
that sounds like peak fall foliage and peak fall foliage.
So let's we goin. Mark Dominicqui joins us on the
(16:58):
Doug Gotlet Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Mark, we
were talking about best times to drink a beer golf, round, shower, beer,
after a workout. Favorite time to drink a beer is when.
Speaker 11 (17:10):
I would say, you know, I used to golf and
it was always fun to have the nineteenth hole. That's
kind of always a nice chance to reminisce about the
five or six shots while you play golf again when
you try to forget the eighty other ones that you made.
But for me, it's probably probably like on a maybe
it's a Sunday afternoon and it's with the four o'clock kickoffs,
and it's a nice day out, like a cool christ
(17:32):
To day outside of the back patio.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Is that I mean gets here? Like, look, I mean,
nobody ever wants to not be in the league. You've
been a general manager. That is a that is an
incredible job. Right, what's that first beer? Watching football? Like
when you're not in the league after you spent twenty
years in the league.
Speaker 11 (17:49):
Like, it's different it's different, you know. I did that
working with ESPN for a little bit there and spending
the Sunday watching the games instead of having an actual
you see everything from such a different perspective. You look
at the games and you don't have the neror the
amount of stress, the anxiety, even though you know as
(18:10):
a general manager you're sitting up at a box and
you have no control of what's going to happen over
the next three hours and change. You know, you can
watch players from the draft that you think he might
have taken and kind of see how they go. But
you know you missed the competitiveness, you missed the possibility
of winning. But you certainly feel so much less stress.
And I've learned, you know, now, you know I can
(18:32):
watch individual players. I don't so much root for so
much teams. It's more of watching individual players perform and
seeing what they can do.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
All right, speaking of individual teams. Is the Gottlieb Show
here on Fox Sports Trayer that's a voice of Mark Dominic.
Of course, he spent twenty years in NFL free agent,
I mean NFL front offices, scouting and of course, most
famously the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Where
would you land on two contract extension? How would you
(19:02):
approach it if you were in Dolphins management.
Speaker 11 (19:06):
Yeah, I've got to find a way. Like he played
through last year, which was important, and I'm sure he
looks probably built the same way he was last year
and in the same type of frame. I have to
create some way to walk away if concussions become an
issue again, because it's been there and I can't act
like it never happened, even though I'm very astatic that
it didn't last year. But as a as a as
(19:27):
a builder of the contract, what you've got to do.
I think you've got to create even more rolling guarantees
in the deal, Meaning, yeah, he can have the you know,
forty five to fifty million dollars a year contract, and
he can have you know, one hundred and something million
dollars guaranteed, but you know, I'll give you some guarantee
million at the beginning. But every year, I've got to
decide whether I want to guarantee the next year when
(19:48):
that new year league starts, not two years down the road,
because I've got to say, if something happens medically and
you can't play, I've got to be able to walk
away from the deal even though I want to pay you.
So I need you to, you know, understand where I'm
coming from. And yet I understand that you are ready
to secure the bag. And I think you've got to
create that in between where the guarantees are there, but
(20:09):
you've got to be on the roster earn them. A
lot of times that you can do as a general
manager is trying to talk to them into fifty three
man or forty five man game roster, and you overload
the game rosters in terms of bonuses, right you could.
You could almost put it like half a million to
a million dollars per game. If you're on the field,
another million dollars, congratulations, and I'll do that. And that's seventeen,
you know, million dollars extra in your contract, in your
(20:30):
face salaries twenty something million. But this way, if you're
not playing because the concussions happening, you missed seven or
eight games, I'm not getting crushed, even though I do
want to reward you. So I think, you know, roster
bonuses in game would be a real good thing for
the club. I'm sure the players trying to say, how
do I avoid you know, kind of giving away too
much money, even though I want to get this contract
done as well.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Nice Doug Gotlib show here on Fox Sports Radio. What
does he know? He just did it for most of
his professional life. He's Mark Dominic who joins on the
Doug Oatlib Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Uh. You know.
Sean Payton is famously good at play calling. He's obviously
seen as a as a great observer and a analyst
of what can make a tremendous quarterback. People in the
(21:13):
league know Tony Romo, that was his guy. Although it
is interesting he gets credit for Tony Romo, but they
didn't draft Tony Romo. He's an undrafted free agent right
but Drew Brees. So now he has a new, a
new project, if you will, in in bow Knicks, if
you were to guide, if you were to guide him
(21:33):
and say, Sean, this is what I would do in
terms of how I would approach a season with Bo Nicks,
what would it be?
Speaker 11 (21:41):
I would say, you know, let's keep it open. Let
Jack Wilson have a real shot of being the starter
week one. Let's not rush bo Nicks into it, even
if we feel like he's one hundred percent ready it's
okay to let Jack Wilson walk out there for a
week or two. Let bo Nicks see how Zack Wilson
has to prepare. Let you both see how two coordinators
change up there away the tack quarterbacks from the preseason
(22:03):
where it's kind of easy to dice things and things
to feel really confident to where it's now, it's like,
wait a second, it's a lot different. So seeing real,
real stuff happens, and then there's a psychology, it's part
of it. You know, if if Zach Wilson struggles in Denver,
the Denver Bronck fans are going to begging for bo Nicks, right,
and when they call him like bringing bone Nicks, you
want we draft this got twelve, let's go and he
(22:23):
bringing bo Nicks to start week four, week five, weeks six,
whatever it is, the fans mentally are going to be
more forgiving, right because they don't want Zach Wilson, they
want bon Nicks. When Bonnick struggles, it's like, that's okay,
it's just a rookie. He put bow Knicks out week
one and he struggles, he's a bust. It's a different thing,
and so fans are more the basis, everybody's got a
little more patience with their quarterback if he's not just
(22:44):
thrown out there and say, hey, here's the favior. And
I know Zach Wilson or Stidham, you know, may not
be very good or may not be very talented. But
I think it's just a soft way that I would
encourage Coach Payton. I did that myself when I was
gim that we didn't throw our first round pick out
their Week one even though I knew he was our
best quarterback in our building.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Stuck got lip show here on Fox Sports. Radiomark Dominic
is our guest. Of course, Former general manager Tampa Buccaneers
Aaron Rodgers says, there must see TV. He said they
let the league down. You know the league was down
because I mean, obviously they had him in primetime games.
They weren't very good. But you know, it does feel
a little bit like bearing lead talking just about his injury,
(23:24):
because there were questions about how good they could be
with that offensive line. Have they fixed the offensive line?
Have they fixed the offense? To go along with Aaron
Rodgers off in.
Speaker 11 (23:32):
Achilles, I think they're much better shape. You know, I
think it's certainly I mean you think about Aaron Rodgers
and the three plays prior to his achilles going. He
was under dress all three other snaps too. It wasn't
like it was like, oh, it's just want random play.
It was like KD bar the door. Things are a problem.
And so I think certainly settling guys into spots. I
(23:53):
think Joe Kipman being settled in, hopefully at the center spot,
I think that's gonna be a good thing. So I
think they've done things to say, yes, they are much
better offensive line. I think they're much more talented offensive line.
I do think playing together in the preseason, all these
snaps in the offseason program and training camp will help.
They are certainly better protected or better able from just
a physical when you watch the traits of the individual guys,
(24:13):
they should be better in terms of being able to
handle and protecting Aaron Rodgers. And I think they are
musty TV. You know, the Jets have been the disappointment
in the NFL for over a decade now, not finding
a way to be a postseason and I think it's
the only professional team in the four major sports that
hasn't found a postseason play. You know, over a decades,
so you know, love him or hate him. Aaron Rodgers
(24:33):
makes it musty TV. And I think that they are
and I think that they're a team that you know,
will watch the preseason. But they're up there with the Dolphins,
I think, trying to battle the bustle, trying to find
the way to get to the Buffalo Bills. It's the
Patriots that probably are yet to be mussy TV.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Yeah, I would, I would. I would tend to agree.
You know, I'm in Green Bay and the Packers' schedule
intrigues me. Like you know, team especially coaches have always
complained about the travel overseas. Now can screw them up.
And we've seen this in baseball where they travel to
Australia and to Japan and can kind of throw off
(25:10):
the start of your season. The difference, obviously, is in
the NFL, there's so many fewer games that let's say
you drop the game in style Apollo, and then it
affects you the next week and you drop two in
a row before you get adjusted. Like now, all the sudden,
you're you're swimming upstream the entire the entire season. What
do you think about the Brazil game? It's a Friday night.
It's a little bit different. It's a it's on the
(25:32):
foreign tour, but in a different area than they've been before.
And it's also, you know, first week of the season,
that middle of the season.
Speaker 11 (25:39):
Yeah, I think it's I mean, it's certainly interesting. I
like the way they put it just to kind of
give the club a little bit of time afterwards to
get themselves prepared and ready to go for the following week. Look,
I agree with you. You know, I don't think people realize
what it feels like to lose maybe two or three
games in a row. I don't know if I've shared
the story with you, but Joe Madden was the skipper
in Tampa with the Rays when I was a GM
(26:02):
and got to know him through coach and everything like that,
and I think we had lost two games or three
games in a row and we were out talking about
it and just kind of get his perspective. He's like,
I don't know why, you guys, so bown, It's just
a couple of games. And I looked at him as aid, Joe,
if you lost twenty or thirty games in a row,
how would you feel. He's like, Okay, I get it.
You know, it's just like, yeah, that'd be miserable, and so, yeah,
every game is so precious. But I think the league
(26:23):
set it up to get a sense of it whether it,
but then let the teams have time to get themselves
back in order. I'm happy for it. I think the
league needs to continue to expand around and be able
to show the game as it wants to conteue to grow,
and I think players it's a way to take your
team and kind of let them see what a super
Bowl feels like without being in the super Bowl, because
it's fans from all different teams. It's a completely different environment,
(26:46):
and I think it's a good way to help your
team kind of grow a little bit. So if you
do get a postseason run, you've been through different types
of mechanics of how a season works or a different
stadiums work, and I think it's actually a benefit.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Doug Gottlig Show here on Fox Rady that's the voice
of Mark Dominic. Mark. What about the Cowboys and Dak
Prescott right expiring gigantic deal, They've decided, hey, we're not
going to extend. We'll take you know, we'll take the
cap hit and we'll see what we got. How or
do you think that affects the Cowboys and how they
(27:20):
play offensively this season?
Speaker 11 (27:23):
Well, I think it puts everybody on notice. You know,
everyone feels the pressure in terms of does the head coach,
does the quarterback? You know, get over the hump? The
Cowboys are still a playoff team. In my opinion that
the Cowboys are certainly still able to win the East.
I think I think they're talented enough to vote. But
you know, it's just whether they can make that run
of the postseason. I think Jerry Jones and Steven Jones
have put their cards to say, look, we'll pay you
(27:45):
guys both more if you just got to show us
eat and get it done. So the only downside is
it is it's trying to figure out Micah Parsons and
Cdee Lamb and can how do you fit all these
players under contract when you're having to pay you know,
these players at the elite level wide receiver one and
you know, in the thirty plus million dollar range. And
then you got Michael Parsons, who's obviously in the thirty
(28:06):
million dollar plus range. It's just hard to get those
deals all done. But Dallas doesn't let players walk you know,
that's the one thing about the Jones family. That's one
thing about the Dallas Cowboys in general. If they've got
a player that they think is a star, they take
care of their players. They've been known to do that.
They'll do that again. But I think they're waiting to
see with the head coach and the quarterback whether those
two guys can get them over the hump.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Mark, you're the best man. Really appreciate you join us.
Thanks a much for being our guest on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (28:32):
And you remember day weekend, buddy, Thank.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
You too, you too. That's that's Mark Dominic, good friend,
great dude, awesome, awesome analysis. Let's get to Manti Blagos
and get a quick update on everything going on. Oh oh,
we already got we already got Monci. I'm sorry. So
you know what I've been drinking those beers we were
talking about. That's exactly what's happened. That's exactly what's happened.
(28:55):
How doat What was the drink I had last night?
It was good, It's good. The Duck Iron It was
a place called the Iron Duck, The Iron Duck. Love ducks.
There's several of my neighborhood. Mark Dominic joined us on
the Doug Gotliy Show. Come Up with the Doug Goley Show.
Life from the tyrat dot Com Studios. Oh, we're gonna
do this. This is great, is Bronnie James. I I'll
(29:17):
explain next.
Speaker 9 (29:18):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Doug Gottlieb Show here at Fox Sports Radio. I love
this game. This is like one of my favorite games ever.
Let's get to it. Here's Moncy Blania's with the game.
Speaker 9 (29:37):
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Hey, Monci, what do you got?
Speaker 3 (29:47):
What are we playing today? Sam?
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Is he all right?
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Thank you, mister Antonio Brown.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
That is exactly what we are playing.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
H Can I break in here? I'm sorry, Moncey. I
know you gotta do the game, and I'm gonna I'm
gonna let you do this. I feel the.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Need to tell the listeners. That's exactly what.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Oscar Wilde said. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Okay,
Antonio Brown, in a lot of ways is a despicable
human being. But he did a podcast recently with Tyreek
Hill and It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
And within that podcast, he had a segment called is
he I? And so all right, so this is kind
(30:29):
of a tribute to Antonio Brown. But we're not endorsing
anything that he's done or said. I think he just
the news came out yesterday where he's broke your bad forum.
That sucks. But this new game is a tribute to
Antonio Brown. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I
just needed to tell the listeners that, go ahead, manciya, I.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
Got you, Yeah, I understand. Is he I?
Speaker 8 (30:51):
Doug, Let's start with Bronnie James with the reports coming
out that he has ten workout invitations, one of them
with the Suns, he planned to visit them, doesn't plan
to visit all of them.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
But is he I?
Speaker 11 (31:04):
Is he all right?
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Uh? When we say is he I? What? What? What
is that? What does that entail like from? For Brownie?
I mean? Is he all right? As a person? He's
here right as a player.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
That's the genius of this new game.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
It's for your look.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
I stand by this. And he just goes back to
last year. Okay, this goes back to last year when
he was named McDonald's All American. He wasn't one of
the ten best players in the Mission League in high
school in the Mission League in high school. If he
was on my team this year at Green Bay. As
of now, my roster, I have seven guys on my roster.
(31:46):
I have a couple of guys that are I believe
are going to commit today tomorrow, probably take me to nine.
He would not be the best player at my roster.
He would not be the best pro prospect on my roster.
So I just this is not, it has never been,
and will never be personal guy, because I don't think
(32:07):
Lebron is the greatest player of all time like or
something like that. Like, no, has nothing to do with
anything other than just evaluating the player. It's a good
basketball player. It's good. You know, he's not really a point,
he's not really a two. He's not a dominant player.
You know, when you talk about somebody's prospecting, you talk
about their defense, that's like talking about a woman and saying,
(32:30):
you know, she's got a great personality. Just be honest.
There was not a moment this year where you thought
and he started some this year, and when they started
he started, they lost So I just I don't understand.
I understand what's happening. I don't understand why we're why
anybody would be in denial of what's happening. It's painfully obvious.
(32:56):
He should have a really good college career, and by
the end of his college career he could be a
hell of a player. M but he's never been dominant, ever, ever, ever,
And I don't understand how somebody thinks at the college
level when you can be a four point a game
scorer and no one's thinking if you returned, he'd be
dominant and talk about being taken the NBA draft, even
(33:16):
though the draft isn't strong and there have been players
who had developed. I just don't see it. I do not.
Speaker 6 (33:23):
All right, let's move on to uh, Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Is he all right? Uh? Yeah? I I mean, look,
this is a different this is even more of a
different level and a different matchup. So yeah, he's I
he's fine.
Speaker 8 (33:41):
All right?
Speaker 6 (33:41):
What about the guy he is all right against?
Speaker 1 (33:45):
He's all right?
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Hey, Luka Doncic.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Luka donc is definitely I right. I think Luka Doncik
is the best player in the NBA. That's my personal thoughts.
Speaker 7 (33:55):
And it's crazy because throughout the playoffs he hasn't been
like his most in itself, especially like against the Clippers,
and yet he is so good still.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
It's crazy, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
He's all right. Well, the thing is, if you watch him,
you know, you're like, how does this even work? Running
by anybody, kind of lumbering around, But he knows how angles,
he knows, he used his body, He's got all the
tricks of the trade. He's great.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
Yeah, he really is so fun to watch, all right.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Jalen Brown is.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
He all right?
Speaker 10 (34:26):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Jaylen browns more than yesterday? Yeah, forty Yeah, he's absolutely
positively I and I think it'd be fair to say
that in the playoffs he's been there most consistent, their
best player. He's all right.
Speaker 6 (34:40):
I agree with you on that dog totally all right.
Speaker 7 (34:43):
He's been floating around the last couple of seasons, but
has definitely impressed me this year.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Kyrie Irving is he all right?
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Uh? Yeah, Kyrie Irving? Is I you know, no, I'm serious,
you know, he's there's other games that he's found ways
to facilitate. There's some games when he's found ways to
be to be a leader. And then last game you know,
he really helped him in the first half when Luca
was struggling offensively.
Speaker 7 (35:10):
Yeah, I think it was twenty four in the first half,
and then Luca just turned it on in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
That was great. Is Crazy's all right?
Speaker 2 (35:17):
I need to address a narrative that I've heard about
Kyrie this week, and maybe maybe we can hit upon
it next week after we have another week in a
games dug. Maybe Mansie could hit on this on her
or show this weekend with Steve Hartman and thank you,
You're welcome for the idea.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Kyrie Irving a year ago kind of like sign this
contract with the MAVs. It was almost like the MAVs
had nobody else to sign and Kyrie and they were
the only team to offer money, and it was kind
of like a it didn't really.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Work, like a desperate movie.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
But it seems together and it has worked, and he
didn't say a word and he's been on his best behavior.
And this narrative this week is that he's grown up
and then he's mature. The cynic me dog and we'll
get into this next week. Thinks this is a business decision. Well,
he lost all that business after that antisemitic thing. And
he's been he has been on his game because of money.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
I don't disagree.
Speaker 7 (36:14):
I wonder where he's going to be a year from
now if this is just a business decision for now.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Good good, Jason, all right, all right?
Speaker 6 (36:23):
How about uh Antonio Brown himself?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Is he all right?
Speaker 11 (36:28):
No?
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Antonio bid? Oh it's so many There is no world
in which Antonio Brown is?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Is I all right? Last one here?
Speaker 7 (36:37):
You can't see him, so I don't know if you
know he has a haircut, looking fresh and fly?
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Iowa, Sam, Is he all right saying you got a haircut?
Speaker 5 (36:47):
I did? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Yeah, I got because I you know, I'm going as
a member of the Esteem Press Corps to the Fever
at Sparks game denied at Crypto, so I got to
look presentable.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, what's that at Crypto?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
It's a Fever visit the Sparks and this could very
well be Kaitlyn Clark's first win with the Fever. They
are a slight favorite according to Vegas Sparks in a
rebuild mode with very young players like the like the Fever.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Yeah, how many Sparks players can you name? Sam?
Speaker 5 (37:17):
Okay? So I can name Cameron Brink.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
And then also they did draft uh Camilla Cardoso.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Yeah wait, yeah, nobody outside everyone knows she's she's the Sky,
but she's made with injury.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
She's making her sorry, she's making her debut in June
with the Sky. So I can name, uh one one
Sparks player and who is Cameron Brink who I know
from Stanford?
Speaker 5 (37:42):
So so nobody that's correct? How about you, Doug? Anybody
else that I can name?
Speaker 1 (37:50):
He's all right, I have no idea that.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
Something. What's her name?
Speaker 11 (37:59):
No?
Speaker 4 (38:00):
K Yeah, this is the beauty of it though. I'm
going to a w NBA game to get to know
these teams and these players, and it's like it's opened
up a whole new.
Speaker 5 (38:09):
World for me. This is an educational experience.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Yeah, just don't be Greg Doyle part two.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
No, I mean honestly, that would get him fired, you know,
And so then we then we wouldn't have to have
like those on air show meetings about his bubber music.
You want, so, by all means be uncomfortable. That shouldn't
be hard my binoculars. Ready, Doug Gottlieb Show, Well within
(38:38):
character coming next to the Doug Gottlieb Show. All right,
so lots of changes going on in the NCAA. What's
it mean. I'll share with you my thoughts next to
the Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sport Tradio
