(00:28):
It's All Star Day. That's right, the All Star Game
will be played tonight in hot Atlanta. I feel so
weird for you trying to say hot Lanta. Right, it
does feel really weird to say Hotlanta. So now it
(00:49):
is hot in Atlanta, which is kind of like one
of those like and I will get to the podcast.
It's weird. This was the All Star Game supposed to
be played in twenty nineteen in Atlanta. Some political stuff post,
you know, some political stuff got this thing kind of moved,
and it's it's obviously gonna be played now. But I
(01:10):
don't know, playing Alstar Game Atlanta feels like a miserable experience. Hey,
good news is you play All Star Game. Bad news
is it's like ninety with ninety five percent humidity. Nonetheless,
I don't know white guy saying how Hotlanta is a
lot like white guy saying for Shizzle. Agreed, disagree, Jason.
We want to discuss anyway. Yeah, you can't do it,
(01:30):
can't do it. I mean, you can do it, but
nobody takes you seriously when you do it. Do do it.
So nobody's taking me seriously. And I actually completely understand that,
totally understand that. I we'll get to that. We'll get
to the Garrett Wilson extension, talk a little bit about that.
There's also a WNBA poll of WNBA players as to
(01:52):
who will be the face of the league in five years.
Some interesting results. There a lot to get to, but
I wanted to start with what I think. I woke
up to this story and I thought, oh, that's it.
That's a great topic for us. Scotti. Shaffler's won uh
what four majors? He won two masters? Excuse me, three majors.
(02:12):
Went He's won two masters, and he he said this
when he kind of opened up to the media. Obviously
the Scottish Open taking place, then they have the Open Championship,
he said in a kind of I don't know, this
is just weird. Let me just play it for you
and then we'll discuss.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
It feels like you work your whole life to celebrate
winning a tournament for like a few minutes. It only
lasts a few minutes that kind of euphoric feeling, like
to win the Byron Nelson Championship at home. I literally
worked my entire life to become good at golf to
have an opportunity to win that tournament, and you win it,
you celebrate, get to hug, hug my family, my sister's
there at such an amazing moment, and then it's like, Okay,
(02:55):
now what are we gonna eat for dinner? You know,
life goes on. This is it great to be able
to win tournaments and to accomplish the things I have
in the game of golf. Yet I mean it brings
tears myers to think about because it's literally worked my
entire life to become good at the sport and to
have that kind of sense of accomplishment I think is
a pretty cool feeling. You know, to get to live
out your dreams, it's very special. But at the end
(03:16):
of the day, it's like, I'm not out here to
inspire the next generation of golfers. I don't. I'm not
here to inspire somebody else to be the best player
in the world, because what's the point. You know, this
is not a fulfilling life. It's it's fulfilling from the
sense of accomplishment, but it's not fulfilling from a sense
of like the deepest places of your heart.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Sounds like Scotti Schefler is going to pick up something
else here in the next couple of years, does it.
This is honestly a great is he gen Z? What
jen is twenty nine years old? Scotti Schffler gen Z? Yep,
he's gen Z. This is a gen Z discussion, and
(03:55):
so for us, for us gen xers were like, and again,
I just don't necessarily know if it comes down to
your generation, but I definitely think how you receive this
discussion is gonna come down to your generation, because if
you're forty plus, right, forty plus, you're sitting there rolling
(04:18):
your eyes and you're gonna go this guy, right, what's
the point? Whereas your forty plus are gonna be like, well,
what's the point? The point is to win? Then you
go out the next weekend and you win again. Point
the next weekend and you win again. You know, you
get greed. You love winning. Winning is the point, winning
the day, winning, winning, winning, finding a way to win.
(04:41):
And uh gen Z was like, I understand. You know,
you need to find emotional fulfillment in everything you do.
And I think this is why we have a generation
of people who quit their jobs so easily because they
don't feel emotionally fulfilled. Now again, I'm sitting here kind
(05:02):
of on the periphery talking about this, and You're like,
why are you on the periphery. This is very much
in your wheelhouse. It is, and it isn't. I love
my jobs. I have two jobs that people would kill for. Definitely,
the media people would kill for. I don't know if
they would kill specifically for the Green Bay job. But
it's pretty cool to be a head basketball coaching college.
(05:22):
So I actually do love what I do. Yesterday, for example,
we had our golf tournament. So I'm there at eight o'clock,
we're setting up. People start showing up. At like nine thirty,
we're greeting people. I went out and I hits twenty
seven hole golf course. I hit I think nineteen of
the holes and shaking hands or whatever. And then I
came into the clubhouse and did the show. And as
(05:43):
you could if you listened to late in the show,
everybody got into early. And because the round went super fast,
which was great. All you can ever hope for in
a scramble is to go like under four hours, unheard of.
And then we had, you know, a dinner. We did
some auction stuff. It was great, Like, there are things
that I love to do, So I can't tell you
(06:03):
what it would be like to have a job that
I don't love, but I'll tell you what I've told
other people that they may not want to hear. Hey,
ninety five percent of people don't like their job. That's
the truth. And the difference in generation is the newer
generation is, well, if you don't like that job, find
something you do, like, sign something that is fulfilling, whereas
(06:26):
forty plus is like, well, first of all, your job
is sweet. You're flying on private planes and playing golf
for a living. Yeah, you got to sacrifice some stuff,
but the success is way better than the sacrifice. And
then the older generation is like, pipe down, Sunny, a
debt to work, what do you complaining about? I don't know,
(06:49):
it's a discussion i'd like to have and we do have.
I'm guessing again, without thoroughly investigating, I'm guessing that Sam's
opinion is different than mine, is different than Jason's. But
I don't know that for a fact. Okay, but listen
again to what Scotty Sheffler had to say. This was
earlier today, the whole sports world buzzing. But I think
(07:11):
this is a great topic at your dinner table, at
your bar with your friends, on your boat, or playing golf.
Take a listen.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
There's a lot of people that make it to what
they thought was going to fulfill them in life, and
then you get there and all of a sudden, you
get to number one in the world, and then they're like,
what's the point? I really do believe that, because you.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Know, what is the point?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
You're like, why do I want to win this tournament
so bad? That's something that I wrestle with on a
daily basis. It's like showing up at the Masters every year.
It's like, why do I want to win this golf
tournament so badly? Why do I want to win the
Open Championship so badly? I don't know, because if I win,
it's going to be awesome for about two minutes, and
then we're going to get to the next week and
it's gonna be like, hey, you want two majors this year?
How important is it for you to win the FedEx
(07:50):
Cup playoffs? And it's just like we're back here again,
you know, So we really do. We work so hard
for such little moments, and you know, I'm kind of sick.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I love putting in the work, I love being able
to practice, I love getting out to live out my dreams.
But at the end of the day, sometimes I just
don't understand the.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Point you don't love to don't say that. Don't say that.
I think I'll tell you something else that breeds that
is Instagram because you see what everybody else is doing.
You used to not see what other people are doing,
and now you see what everybody else is doing. And
(08:27):
it's also tinted, not just with the filter of pictures,
but the filter of Instagram is a real thing. Everybody's
life is great. Hey, I saw your son play basketball.
He's amazing. Yeah, of course you put a couple highlights
on Instagram and looks incredible. Everybody looks happier, every woman
looks hotter, every guy looks more handsome, every family looks closer,
(08:48):
every athlete looks better. That's what the Graham does, and
it creates this fomo where here you are doing great
things like yeah, but I could be doing something else,
like no, what you're doing is kind of awesome, kind
of awesome. I listened to it, and I think Scotti
Scheffler doesn't love golf. He's just great at golf and
(09:09):
that's okay, but doesn't love golf and he's not just
an absolute killer competitor. And it is amazing how good
he is considering those two things. That he's done it
for a long time, but he's kind of over all
the other stuff and he's really really good. But it
doesn't it doesn't eat him up to lose one inside
(09:31):
because the at least my generation or the way people
I've surrounded myself with or I've been raised by have
been for years, is you remember the losses more than
the wins, because that just keeps you coming back every
single day. Jay Stew, I'm wondering your opinion on Scotti
Schefer's comments.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
I first of all, I'm fascinated by your opinion. We
didn't talk about this before the show. So it's interesting
that the path that you chose here. So a couple
of weeks ago, I asked a question on this network
that ended up being a rhetorical question because nobody on
the air answered it. What are we here for? What
(10:15):
are humans on the planet here to do? I think
evolutionists and Elon Musk would say the answer to that
is to reproduce. I think there are a lot of
people of faith that would say serving a God is
what we're here to do. I think we are here
(10:35):
to be in love and share love. And I think
this is kind of what Scotty Scheffler is missing when
he says that the Winds do not feel that part
of his heart does not fulfill him. He's telling us
his personal life is not resolved. He has not found
(10:57):
that thing in his personal life that fills his heart,
and he has put all the hopes of that fulfillment
into sports, which we all know is frivolous and temporary.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
H I don't know if I agree with that, but
I do think that the not having your personal life
and I don't know enough about his personal life, but yeah,
it's totally different when you're there and your wife and
your kids and you're their hero and your everything whatever.
I would also say the other way around, right, like
being a divorced dad, is when you do have these
(11:36):
moments of success and you don't have that family there.
I do understand. Again, it doesn't land that way with
me with the hey what am I doing this all for?
How it lands for me? And again part of this
is I've had a family is damn, I wish they
were here. I wish they could experience this, the good,
(11:58):
the bad. It's a great support system to have. So
it's interesting you point out the personal life lack of fulfillment,
and I do think you would feel differently if his
wife and kids were there, especially if you have somebody
who like again, you have to find the right wife
right because you want her to be there and her
to you know, to be your everything and you to
(12:20):
be your everything, and for her to win with you
and lose with you, and feel the pain with you
and grow with you and all those other things. It's
a great observation.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
I think most of our listeners could relate to those.
So if you're driving around around now listening to this show,
if you have taken care of everything in your personal
life and that doesn't mean family necessarily. If you again,
if you haven't embraced faith, if you have not found
that kind of love to fulfill your heart before you
(12:50):
go to work, then you're not going to have a
fulfilling job. Because we work to live, we don't live
to work.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Uh, Sam, what do you think?
Speaker 5 (13:02):
But I think a lot of people, uh, in their
life have existential moments where they they question why they're
doing things. And I think that's what he's having here.
You know, I don't maybe he maybe he's in another
life he was more of a teacher or a helper
or something. I don't know, Uh, but you know, I
(13:23):
think every you know, interesting this came up because I
was just caught a little clip online of you remember
the singer musician Rick Astley did the never Gonna Give
You Up?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
And Were going to Give You Up?
Speaker 6 (13:35):
That?
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Yeah, So he was like he became really famous really quickly,
and he just after a couple of hits, He's like,
I don't want to do this anymore. All of the
all the reasons I got into this to just make music,
or being sidelined by or you know, put on the
back burner by just doing interviews and having to go
and just do publicity stuff. And so I think, uh,
it was a moment of existential reflection for Scotti Scheffler.
(13:58):
And I mean, he obviously has the money and the
accolades to walk away from golf right now if he
wants to, but he can keep on at it. Or
maybe he'll start a foundation something is really fulfilling for him.
Or maybe he'll go and do you know something, peace corps,
you do whatever he wants. He's on top of the world.
He just he just say he's two in his maybe
two in his own head right now, but he'll he'll
(14:19):
figure out and find happiness.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah, I don't know. There's there's also this other there's
also another part to it, other part to it Jace too,
which is some people just aren't happy, you know, and
they're happy being unhappy, and maybe that is kind of
kind of why he's single. But I think that I
think the whole thing is Isaac. What do you think, Bud?
Speaker 7 (14:39):
This is an awesome topic and I'm glad you're giving
it it's due. This is actually not a generational thing
at all, because we've got many examples of this in
sports alone over the years. Jerry West and the Lakers
(15:00):
lost heartbreaking final after NBA Final in the sixties to
the Celtics. They lost again in Game seven in the
Willis Reid Game to the Knicks in nineteen seventy. They
finally win it all in nineteen seventy two, and Jerry
West was surprised at the lack of joy that he
(15:21):
felt after the final buzzer when they won the NBA
Championship that they had pursued for so long with so
much heartbreak in nineteen seventy two, and it evokes something
that people have said for years, especially in sports, Losing
feels worse than winning feels good. I also remember, arguably
(15:41):
the greatest women's college basketball team of all time, Pat
Summit Tennessee volunteer team. I think when undefeated in nineteen
ninety eight, they went thirty nine to oh. Shamika Holtzklaw
was on that team. They win the national championship. Pat
summits on the court doing a postgame interview, goes into
the locker room. She gets into the locker room, they
win the national championship thirty nine to zero, and she
(16:04):
can't believe what she sees. The players are sad and
she asks them we just won the national championship undefeated.
Why aren't you guys celebrating more? And the players said
collectively were sad because it's over. And I firmly believe
that this is not just a general generational thing. I
think the joy, especially in sports competition, is not reaching
(16:27):
the goal. It's pursuing the goal.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
And that's me.
Speaker 7 (16:31):
And that's also coupled with the fact that losing evokes
way stronger emotions than winning does.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Guy, there's a lot to digest there.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
But that makes sense because when Scheffer says he loves
the process, he likes putting in the work, that would
jive with what Isaac just said. And you said that
he must not love it. I think that's arguable. I
think he loves the process of it. It's just the
results aren't given him any fulfillment. And I think that
just comes and what you're dealing with mentally at the
(17:02):
time or emotionally.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
I want to I want to circle back to it. Okay,
I want to circle back to it. Look, I'm just
I'm not done with this topic. I want to talk
more about it, but we do have to get a
break in. Give us your thoughts on social media at
Gottlieb Show on Instagram at Gottlieb Show as well. Again,
I don't actually think there's a wrong answer. We're all
guessing on what maybe the right answer is. And I
(17:29):
do think again, as much as it can be harsh
to say, I don't think he loves golf, I do
think it's actually brave to say these things like, hey,
it's not actually that much fun. I'm going to relate
a personal story that does relate to Scotti Scheffler and
then we can continue to discuss. Fair enough, you can

buying should be. It's time for our Tyraq play today.
This from our friends of the ESPN Moby.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
Drive to left. Let's skip to the wall. It is over,
and cal Rawleigh is your twenty twenty five T Mobile
Home Run Derby champion, the major league home run leader
and Raleigh who just squeaked it?
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Okay, so cal Rawley, who? Hey, you guys remind me. Yesterday,
Aj Persinski joined us on the show. He worked for ESPN.
He made me make a pick on who would win
the home run Derby. Do you guys remember who I picked?
I've forgotten.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
I think you picked the guy that was the odds
on favorite toWin.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
That's what I did. I picked the favorite and the
favorite game through. I only bring it up one because
it's a humble brag too, because when I get things wrong.
Everybody likes to remind me when I get things wrong,
and I get them wrong plenty, but I do get
him right every now and again.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
It's a classic. I think it's a classic thing in
talk radio. If the host picks chalk, does he deserve
credit for winning? That's kind of the universal question. Is
is it worth bragging overtaking chalk?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah? Yeah it is. I'm actually being half facetious. I don't.
I can't tell you I care all that much. We
will get back to this topic about Scotti, Scheffler saying, hey,
just doesn't feel the joy when he's won majors, when
he's won the Masters twice, any of his three major
wins or I think it's about fourteen wins overall. We'll
(20:43):
get back to that, but let's talk a little NBA before.
Before we do that, we'll also get an update from
Isaac upcoming as well. Mark Medina joins us, longtime NBA
writer Fox Sports Radio, NBA Insider and uh, Mark, you're
in Vegas. Summer league's still going on. But the buzz
(21:06):
of summer league this is one of those like it's
still going on, Like yeah, like okay, wrap this thing up.
The Lebron story, Rich Paul saying, for four teams have
reached out, Uh give me what you you're best able
to be able to figure out about what's really going
(21:28):
on within Lebron's camp and how it works with the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, Doug, I think it's basically Lebron James's last attempt
to try to exert any leverage over the Lakers. This
is what he's done his whole career, because you know,
he is a superstar player. But the writing's been on
the wall ever since the Luca Dota trade that now
it's about making decisions as it pertains to his future.
So I think it was telling that Lebron James went
(21:54):
to the two of the Lakers summer League games, not
just to you know, see Browny play, but last night,
you know, he shakes Rob Blinka's hands, and I remember
two years ago he was here and he completely ignored
Russell Westbrook. So while it is weird to get in
the soap opera game and interpret these kind of things,
this is how Lebron rolls here. And so what I
(22:15):
think happens is he retires a Laker. Next year's his
final year. But that doesn't mean that this is a
non story. The Lakers will certainly entertain look to see
what is out there, but I think it'll, you know,
match what their preconceived conclusion was from the beginning that
there's not really a market out for him. And you know,
(22:35):
if they cut their losses with buyouts, what's the value
to them. So I think it's talent With all this.
I remember talking to Genie bus two years ago and
asked her what would it mean for Lebron James retire
as a Laker, And she said it would mean a
lot what you would expect her to say, but she
quickly pivoted into mentioning how Shaquille O'Neil when he got traded,
(22:55):
that was something that wasn't expecting. They're preparing for that.
But I think the bottom line and is both sides
are pragmatic enough to think, you know what, at the
end of the day, it's better off just standpoint.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Stut Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, what
about the Lakers, like this is this what they're going with?
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I think so. I mean, look, they have fifteen players
on the rosters, so this is what their team is.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Now.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
That doesn't mean they can't make any deals moving forward,
but I can't really think of any hypothetical movement really
that's going to happen with the Lakers or they change
the roster. You know, really, the only unleft a box
that hasn't been checked when you're looking at the landscape.
Here is what happens with Giannasnseekunpo. Now. I know that,
(23:42):
you know, he and the Bucks have made it clear
he wants to stay, but people around the league still
kind of have a skeptical feeling about that. But that
movement isn't going to involve the Lakers. So if their
roster changes, it has to do with the domino effect
of rotation players being shuffled in out. But if I
had a guess, look, I was in Vegas. I lost money,
(24:04):
so take it for what it's worth. But if I
had to put money down for this, I think that
this is what the Lakers roster is the next season.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
All right, what about the Warriors? No off season free
agent signings?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (24:16):
But but standing pat doesn't feel like the best option.
What are they what are they gonna end what are
they gonna end up with?
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Yeah? Well, I Al Horford I think is going to
wind up becoming one of their centers here. He's been
on the market for a while. He's a veteran guy.
He's not going to command much beyond a bat minimum.
The biggest thing is Jonathan Kaminga. And you know, the
word that I got from the Warriors is that they
like him, but they wanted to see, you know, how
his market value would play out, because you know, they
(24:43):
like him enough to think, okay, he has potential, but
not like him enough to really sign him a long
term deal because of some of his shortcomings, decision making, consistency,
and so coming into the free agency, it was all about, Okay,
Kamingo wants to see what offers are out there. He
wants a bigger content trek, once a bigger role. We'll
let that play out and see if it's worth for
(25:04):
them to match it. And he frankly just hasn't got
any offers yet. So they gave him that qualifying offer.
He hasn't accepted it yet. But I think the Warriors
really are just kind of waiting around to see what
Camingo ultimately decides to do. And they expect now that
they're mid July, at some point they'll hear from him
and go from there. And I think because of the
(25:24):
fact that there hasn't been any movement up until this point,
he'll come back with with the Warriors. But I think
it's more about, you know, kind of last option available.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Stut Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. That's the
voice of Mark Medina, the Funky Gold Mark Medina. Okay,
we take a look at the Eastern Conference and obviously,
you know, three of the favorites are trying to figure
out what to do where one of their stars last
year went down with a torn achilles tendon. Are the
(25:56):
Boston Celtics going for it this year? Are they position
themselves for being a year away?
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yeah? I think completely doing the ladder a position themselves
to be in a year away. You know the fact
that they traded chrisof Forzingis Andrew Holliday. It didn't just
have to do with second April concerns. I mean, those
are very real concerns, but I think it also was
a concession that, look, Jason Tatum, he has an achilles injury.
If he does come back next season, he's not going
(26:23):
to be the same version of himself, but he's likely
going to miss next season. So I think it's not
tanking by any means. It's more of a gap year
about leaning on Jaalen Brown and some of their good
rotation players and then reload for the following season. So
there was definitely two factors that came into you know,
they're tough but necessary cost cutting moves. Second apron and
(26:46):
saying they can just buy here of allowing Tatum to
fully heal from his achilles and then reload for the
following season.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Stell Gotlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Mark what
about the Clippers, right, They're kind of in this this
weird space of like are they really competitive? Are they
just a playoff team? You know? I mean again like
twenty years ago, Clippers, this is a great place to be.
But these Clippers, you know, there have been spots over
(27:13):
the past five or six years where you're like, they
might be the best team going in the playoffs. Then
something always goes wrong. What about the Clippers hanging in
this season?
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah, I think the Clippers play is to try to
have some bigger flexibility for next summer, because I think
they concluded. They wouldn't say this out loud, but their
actions validated what you just said that they're not really
in the mix. And the fact that they did not
extend Norman Powd to an extension signifies that completely because
he was a great two way player, really adapted seamlessly
(27:44):
from that vent roll to starting role to compensate for
Paul George's departure and Kawhi Leonard missing the first you know,
chunk of the season, and they did, they parted ways
with them and they got John Collins. John Collins is
a great player, but they have enough front court depth
already with the Vita Zoo and now signing Brook Lopez.
So what this means next season there'll be a respectable team.
(28:05):
I still think they make the playoffs. They still have Kawhi, Leonard,
James Harden, good rotation players with zoobots, with Lopez, but
you know, maybe they get Bradley beal On assuming this
is a you know, he negotiates a buyout with the Suns.
But I'm their best case is first round, maybe sneaking
to the second round. And that's assuming that Kawhi can
(28:27):
somehow get through the playoffs again healthy, which you never know.
But it's it's about trying to still be respectable, competitive
and then try to make a bigger splash with the
move next summer.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Mm hmm, I get it. Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox
Sports Radio, Mark Mark Badena joining US Dallas Mavericks. What
was the Cooper Flag buzz? First game, a lot of misses,
then a huge game and then they shut him down.
What's the general what's the general take on on Cooper Flag?
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Yeah, I mean some are caveatsa side. I think it
just validated. Yeah, Cooper Flag is a really good player. Yeah,
he didn't shoot the ball well you know, talking to
trainer Matt McKenzie, the feeling was he was trying to
adapt to the physicality. He felt sped up. He made
some adjustments there, but even when he wasn't miss it
wasn't making shots. He really had an impact everywhere else,
great defender, playmaker, you know, count improve in half court sets,
(29:23):
but really got out in the open floor. I thought
the cool thing about Cooper Flag even though like some
Earlygue games don't matter, but he looked legitimately upset on
how poorly he shot the ball, you know, so much,
saying that he thought that this was the worst game
of his life and that wasn't just a sound play.
His trainer, Matt McKenzie was telling me that between games
(29:43):
one and two, like he was pissed off and just
upset with himself, and he wasn't like concerned about the game.
He knew he would have had a good bounce back,
but it really kind of captured his competitiveness that he
wants to win, he wants to do well, he hates losing,
and it is summer League, but I think that that
is a good window into his competitive mindset and kind
(30:04):
of what makes him sick.
Speaker 1 (30:06):

Speaker 1 (31:08):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
You up, but Doug puts your ranking shoes on. Rank
them all right, we'll start by touching on tonight's Major
League Baseball All Star Game. I want you to rank
the three players in Tonight's All Star Game that move
the needle most with baseball casuals.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Wait that ranked the rank the what that put the baseball.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
Casual rank the three players in Tonight's All Star Game
that move the needle most with baseball casuals.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Okay, I mean I know who number one is, right right?
I would hope, yeah, yeah, But I'm gonna go Jacob
Mazerowski third. Not because I think he's the biggest name
or he's ever even in contention to be the biggest name,
but because there's been some controversy and he's so young
(32:06):
and he's had five starts. I'll put mis at.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
Three, Okay, Okay, interesting.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Yeah, I'm gonna put Otani at one, and then I'm
gonna put Freddy Freeman too.
Speaker 7 (32:17):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
You know, World Series V World Series MVP, and he's
also a guy who's coming back to Atlanta where he
won a World Series. And we'll talk about this a
little bit more the pod, but you know, all the
field feels there. I think Skeens is Skeens is kind
of right there would probably be on the list, maybe
ahead of miz but he's been so dominant young age.
(32:40):
But yeah, those are the ones.
Speaker 7 (32:42):
Dur Im Sorry, I've got a summer tickle in my throat.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Sure, but he's not showing Otani.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
No, I was just I was just coughing. By the way,
Livy Dunn not thrilled with Paul Skeens being left out
of your top three. According to my constant monitoring of
social media. All right, last night was the home Run Derby.
But I want you to rank the top three home
run hitters in baseball right now. My postual it is
(33:12):
that it's not necessarily reflected in who competed in and
who won the Home Run Derby. Top three home run
hitters in baseball right now.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
I'll go who Aaron Judge three, show, Hey o, Tani
two and cal Raley one. Again you said you did say?
Right now? Yeah, those are the three.
Speaker 7 (33:35):
Okay. I want you, now, in keeping with the All
Star theme, to rank the top three cities slash ballparks
for hosting a Major League Baseball All Star Game. So
it's the combination of the city and the ballpark. What
are your top three.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
City ball park top three. I've never been to a
game at Pittsburgh. Everybody says Pittsburgh. I've been to a
game at Baltimore. Love ball, love Baltimore's Inner Harbor there,
but cover years. Jase two, Uh, we got to put
pet Cot at at three. Petco has got to be
(34:19):
on that list, right right in the city, right on
the water, right in the gas lamp.
Speaker 7 (34:26):
Yeah, yeah, sorry, Jason.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Pet Petco at Petco at three.
Speaker 7 (34:31):
I mean, sure, surely, Jason, you can find it in
your heart to accept that Petco would be a top
three Petco slash San Diego, sure you okay?
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Beautiful city all right?
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Yeah, you know what San Diego means, right, yes, I do.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
To Wales Vagina.
Speaker 7 (34:49):
Yeah, I was. I was today years old when I uh,
when I found that out, I almost dumped that.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
I just want to put that out there.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
I don't think you have to dump it. He didn't say.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
I mean listen, Number two San Francisco. Yeah, beautiful city,
great ballpark, right in the water. Number one Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 7 (35:21):
Whoa, Okay, that was a I didn't expect that.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
I mean, it's honestly, it's my favorite, my favorite ballpark
in the in the country. I've been to almost all
of them. I love Dodger Stadium and overlooking the the
La Basin up in the ravine. Why not. I didn't
say it's easy to get into or get out of. Uh,
but if you got better than Dodger Stadium, I like
to see.
Speaker 7 (35:44):
It, all right. Well, that was certainly an interest.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
I know you thought it. You thought I do like
Fenway Wrigley. I love Wrigley. I love but Chicago and
the summer wall awesome. And listen, I'm going down to Wrigley.
My boy Boog offered me up to come down. I
think I'm gonna. I might come down this weekend Umbra game.
Speaker 7 (36:04):
Sorry.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
I love Wrigley, But in the summer, while it's a
great summer city, it could be like one hundred and
eighty percent humidity fair in the summer in San Diego
and Los Angeles and San Francisco, it's perfection. San Francisco
probably the worst of the weather of those three cities.
But you know, at least it's not one hundred percent
(36:26):
humidity or nine.
Speaker 7 (36:28):
Now in non All Star Game related rankings, as we
progress even past that, educational del finidae or Cinnus. Anatomical
update from Jason Stewart. By the way, so one thing
that's going on right now in sports is the I
(36:48):
would say, the public rollout of this Klay Thompson Megan v.
Stallion relationship with two ease. I want you to rank
the top three three sports related power couples of all time.
Top three sports power couples. So both don't have to
(37:10):
both don't have to have to be in sports. Just
one has to be in sports.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
I mean, I actually think I know the number one
one and and I don't think anybody would guess it.
Speaker 7 (37:22):
Okay, you want us to try, yes, Joe Demaggio, Marilyn Monroe.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Oh yeah, okay, so she's not in sports though, So only.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
One, only only one has to be in sports. Yeah,
they don't both have to be in sports, but they
can if you want.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
When they were a couple, were they married, Did they
have to be married or just dating?
Speaker 7 (37:41):
Just a couple, just a couple at some point.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
It's a strong one. I was going to say, Stefanie
Graft Andrea Goasy.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
For for both in terms of sports, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
I mean they both have been the number one rank
player in the world.
Speaker 7 (37:53):
The thing is they're. The thing is, they're surprisingly not
as public of a couple as.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Now I understand, but they're I mean again, it's all
what your definition of is is in terms of power coupany, right,
I mean Travis Kelcey, Kelsey and Taylor Swift at at three?
All right, Kelsey and Taylor Sits at three.
Speaker 5 (38:18):
Let's see here, Mochellman, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth.
Speaker 7 (38:23):
Oh, that's a different direction. That's good. Has to be sports,
not sports entertainment.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Huh yeah, that.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
Was play by playing their first date.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
By the way, you gotta be sports. Let's see here.
I don't know. Well, we'll go make it the Stallion
and Clay Thompson, and then I'll go with I like
your Joe Demajio, Marilyn Monroe. I thought they had to
both be in sports. And that is game time.
Speaker 9 (38:58):
This is game time. The Doug Gottlieb Show.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Okay, coming up next to The Dug Gottlieb Show, I'll
give you my personal story as it relates to uh
Scottie Scheffler's comments about not feeling joy from winning golf. Next,
