Speaker 1 (00:01):

to do and this is where like politics and sports

(00:25):
kind of have become one. And it's it's a little sad,
but you also just have to take a breath with it.
That when the impetus of it was Fox News was brilliant.
They would put whoever was the left commentator on the
left on the screen and then like Pat Robertson or
somebody who deserved to the right on the right of

(00:46):
the screen, and they would argue out And what politics
does is it take it'll take outlier things.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
And use them as.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
A narrative, right, use them as a narrative. And I
don't necessarily need to go into detail about the topics,
but if you think about it, right, you're like, wait,
late term abortions, things that don't actually happened often or
at all, used as a big narrative just like when

(01:18):
you have abuse of citizens on some level. Right, there
can be bad actors in any profession and caught on tape.
But when you use social media and you use the
power of traditional media and you get somebody saying this
is what happens all the time when they're taking a
real snapshot, right, sports is much the same. I mean,

(01:41):
think of Tua Tungo Bailoa. Going back a couple of
years ago in training, can't remember when the Dolphins would
keep putting out time and time again. They would put
out videos of Tua throwing the ball deep down the field.
Remember that, and most of us would sit there and

(02:02):
go like, well, that's what are we doing here? Because
Tua the arm strength, the ball wobbles, it's just a
deep ball in practice when he's not getting hit, he
doesn't have to hold on the ball, et cetera, et cetera,
et cetera. So you may be asking yourself, okay, wait, wait,
how does Kyen Williams. How's Karen Williams relate to Tua

(02:26):
tongue of Iyoloa?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
How does that work? And I'll tell you very simply.
Kyen Williams signs a three year deal which as Dan
Byer told you at the top of the hour, is
really a two year deal at twenty three million dollars guaranteed,
which fits right in line with what running backs had
been making previous to last offseason. And you kind of

(02:49):
go back to last five years and last year or
the last two years. We've been sitting here at this
point in time, and I feel like I've been the
voice of reasons saying none that actually matters. Right, No
one's given them a third year guaranteed because it's a
bad investment and the running back market isn't moving a ton.
And what happens. Saquon Barkley has an unbelievable season with

(03:14):
the Philadelphia Eagles, unbelievable, and the Eagles, though they didn't
have to, they go in there and say, hey, one
year in we're going to rework your deal. We're going
to make it two more years guaranteed. In other words,
it was three years guaranteed. But that's not the deal
that he signed. He signed a deal that was on
par with all those other deals. Matter of fact, the

(03:34):
deal he signed with Eagles was only worth one million
dollars more through the life of it than what the
Giants were paying him. And this isn't to say that
it wasn't brilliant to sign with the Eagles. I've said
this before, though he gave away, kicked away all of
the Giants reunion stuff, the chance to be in New
York and be a New York Giants running back and
be the tek bar the next tea key barber, et cetera.

(03:57):
This changed his trajectory as as a football player like
nothing else you could think of. He goes from the
best player and a bad team to the best player
on the best team in football. But the actual contract
that he signed wasn't some groundbreaking deal. Derrick Henry's contract
wasn't Josh Jacobs contract wasn't some groundbreaking deal. And to

(04:22):
all of those like myselves who would tell you that, hey,
they more than lived up to that deal in year one,
the argument had never been a little bit had been
over what the scale was year one, year two, but
most of it was are you going to guarantee us
that third year? And I brought up the outlier arguments
that become narratives, because that's what we're doing with running backs.

(04:46):
We're gonna use the outlier of Saquon Barkley and say hey,
this is the new model, this is what running backs
are worth. And then you're like, yeah, well, Karen Williams
side a deal that's right in line with all those guys.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
From the previous year, year before.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I'm not telling you to not watch sports on TV
or not have these insane sports arguments that people had,
but the truth is always closer towards the middle and
what it says for what it says for the running
back position. And you know, the Buffalo Bills buyer, was
it was it you who told me yesterday that the

(05:23):
Bills are now the odds on favorite to win the
Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yes, yeah, so I was listening and we did it
in the press.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Right, So Dan shared with us that the Buffalo Bills
are the favorite to reach the Super Bowl. And now
they're currently practicing without their starting running back. Now you
could make the argument, you know, they have the starting
running back. His name is Josh Allen. He's under understander
playing quarterback. But again, all of these arguments are are

(05:54):
exactly the same as the ones we've had over the
past three years. And so instead of getting caught up
in and what he got and the Eagles ripping up
his deal and giving him a contract far above the market.
Kyram Williams is telling you where the market is. Three

(06:14):
years at thirty three, twenty three guaranteed. And if you're
a starting, high caliber, top ten in your craft short
of running back, that's about what you should be expecting.
That's about what you expect should expect. That's not the
rank and file. Rank and files are the guys that

(06:34):
are just fighting for a roster spot. There's two or
three on every roster, right there's guys that come in
you've never heard of before. They do special teams, you know,
on passing only situations. They're back there really to block
on third down. Like those are the rank and file guys.
These are a notch below stars, a notch below stars

(06:59):
starting running backs. Three years, thirty three, that's right there
with what Saquon, Josh Jacobs, all of those guys between nine, eleven,
nine and twelve going back last year. It's a slight
increase over it in year to year, but reality is
it's a two year contract.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yes, Dan seventh amongst running backs in the NFL, and
average annual salary.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
There you go, it's about right right, And this is
from a coach who's been into Super Bowls, won a
Super Bowl, seen as the best offensive coach in football,
and one who values running the football, but he's not
going to overvalue it to where he tips the scale
and he can't afford other things.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
And this is a good contract.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
So my point is, don't listen to outlier arguments that
people want to make into narratives. The running back market has.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Not changed a great deal, nor should it.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
It's a position that you just can't protect your injury
the way you can as much a wide receiver, definitely,
not like quarterback or anything else.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
You just can't.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
They have not changed the rules inside the tackles running
the football. So it's not necessarily about value. It's about durability.
It's about availability and the likelihood that you know, three
years after signing a contract, you're still going to be
the player or a better version of the player that

(08:26):
you are when you sign that contract. That's that's a
hard argument to make. And again you could say, well
look at Derrick Henry. Again, that's an outlier. Derrick Henry
is in everybody else, and Derek Henry doesn't really catch
it out of the backfield. There's other things he doesn't do,
but a man he can run downhill. But I'm not
trying to question Derrick Henry. I'm telling you that that's

(08:48):
again the exception. Sae Kwon Barkley is the exception. The
rule is we're right about there, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
somewhere smushed in the middle, and you're going to get
two with a little bit in that third year. But
I think there's a lot of people who sat there
on their couch and saw Josh Jacobs perform incredibly well,

(09:09):
Aaron Jones played really really well. You saw Saquon Barkley
and Derrick Henry, and you're sitting there going stick that.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
To the man, give those running back quick contracts.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
And I told you throughout the year, that's great. The
argument wasn't oversigning those players. It was over the yearly,
but mostly over how many years guaranteed? And everybody's falling
back onto everybody's falling back on too.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
It's The Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. There's a
decision you make when you're a coach, Okay, and I'm
in I'm in year two and I'm trying to figure out,
you know.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
How to play it a little bit.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Because I, you know, like, look, I believe in my guys, right,
I these ones. I recruited every one of them. I
like all of them. Somewhere along the line we selected
these guys. So yeah, if you asked me if I
think they can play, yeah, I wouldn't have taken them.
I think they can play. Am I realistic about where

(10:26):
they fit in the grand landscape of college athletics?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Of course?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Course, considering our record, how we finished, and considering the
league we're in, how much money we're spending, all those things,
I'm realistic, but I think we can exceed what expectations
are and then some. But there's that decision you make.
Do you downplay things, do you underselling over deliver? Or

(10:52):
do you just hype things up because you're like, ah,
who's really going to keep tracking? What does it really matter?
And you gain some equity within the locker room when
you believe in your players, right, that makes sense. Liam
Cohen is the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He's a guy who irritates the hell out of out

(11:14):
of Jason Stewart. I mean, look, everybody irritates Jason Stewart,
but especially Liam Cohen because he tried to duvall douvall
yes where it was he put the wrong emphassist on
the wrong salable when he tried to do it, and
trying to fit in, trying to do their local chants

(11:36):
and cheers. It's cheesy, but it's sports, right, It's sports.
Here's Liam Cohen talking about his star player draft pick,
Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Do you think he can be offensive end defensive Rookie
of the Year in the same year.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
I do think it's possible.

Speaker 7 (11:55):
He is committed man, like he is committed to driving,
not just himself, but his.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Teammates as well.

Speaker 7 (12:00):
And I think that his teammates, like these guys are
challenging him every single day, like he doesn't get a
free pass because he was the second overall pick in
the East, Travis Hunter, like they are in his grill,
trying to jam him up, trying to hem them up,
trying to make it as hard as they can possibly
make it for him in a great way, like in
the most healthy way as possible, where they're going at

(12:22):
it and chirping at each other. But it's truly guy's
iron sharpening iron. That's what it feels like, and I
wouldn't expect anything less from those guys.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Here's John Harball, who's head coach at Baltimore Ravens and
a really successful one. When he was asked if he
thinks Travis Hunter, anyone can play both sides of the football.

Speaker 8 (12:42):
To say that you're going to be completely immersed in
everything that there is a known offense and everything there
is a known defense. I don't know if there's enough
hours in the day for a player to be able
to do that and to have every detailed lockdown, but
you certainly can do it. I would think on one
side of the ball and then have some sort of
a package on the other side of the ball.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Which kind of feels like what he's doing. It's more
wide receiver is the one side of the ball that's
the main side of the ball. John Middlecoff is our
guest here on the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Do you have a dog?

Speaker 9 (13:13):
I do a pugs? You nicettle fat furry dog.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
What's what's the Pugs's name?

Speaker 9 (13:20):
Lollie.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
How'd you come upon the name?

Speaker 9 (13:25):
Well, I mean, I you know, my wife had her
before I met her, so her name was Lollie. She
rescued her and then fostered her and then just kept her.
But I mean I grew up you know, my fam
my dad, he kind of quit hunting as I was born,
but he was a big duck hunter and always had labs.
So I've grown up around labs most of my life.

(13:46):
The problem is there, they shed so much, especially black labs.
He just get hair everywhere.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
The third great dogs, That's why doodles have become so popular.
How long did it take for you to feel like
Lolly was your dog?

Speaker 9 (14:03):
You know what's funny is you you grow up around
bigger dogs, you always kind of make fun of little dogs.
I'm never gonna have a little dog, and then you
get around a little dog, they become I mean, I
don't have a child yet again, still got to wait
about three four months for that. But they feel like
a big part of your life, so it's pretty quick.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I mean, you don't push this thing around in the
stroller or anything, do you?

Speaker 6 (14:26):
No?

Speaker 9 (14:26):
No, no, I mean lowly walks. I mean she's we
took her to the vet about a month ago. It's
a little little, uh the way, it had gotten a
little out of control, so we you know, got to
get those walks in. But they say that working out,
especially for little dogs. It's more about colork intake. So
you know she likes the you know, she's she's she's
a foodie.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
John Milkoffs, I guess on the Doug Gotlib Show on
Fox Sports Radio Kyvin Williams, three years thirty three, it's
really two years twenty three.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
My kind of opening salvo was I get the discussion
a couple of years ago about all the running backs
and whate is me and about how well they performed.
Reality is Saquon Barkley's the outlier. Most guys are right
in line with this number and very very rare. If ever,
they're going to go to three years guaranteed.

Speaker 9 (15:12):
Yeah, I mean it's just too risky of a position.
Now that being said, I mean, if he plays well,
he will see every penny of this, and obviously he's
a big part of the offense. And let's face it,
I think one of the biggest stories in the league is,
you know, guys get hurt, right, you queak an ankle,
you're banging elbow, you know, Baker Mayfield hurt his hand,
probably throwing into a helmet like someff happens when you

(15:34):
have a back injury. It's pretty hard to quantify this
tain base, especially the older guys who, hell, Steve Kirk
was a coach, couldn't coach because he had back. This
mass Stafford thing was like, hey, he's gonna be okay.
Oh actually week to week, Oh yeah, definitely not practicing
at the Cowboys this week. It's just something like, I'm sorry.
Sometimes we talk about the Rams and listen, I'm bullish.

(15:55):
If they're healthy, they're a good team. But like they've
been from Kansas City Philadelphia winning thirteen fourteen games. They
wasn't they won ten games last year and their quarterback,
you know, is older. Now he's got this back injury.
Like I'm sorry, if Jimmy Garoppolo was their full time starter,
they would have some problems.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Yeah, I mean it's crazy right like this this is
this looks like it could be a year. But then
you're depending on Stafford. Stafford's been that maybe he'll retire. No, No,
he wants to play a bunch of other years. It's
it's it's kind of kind of nutty.

Speaker 9 (16:27):
This is all. This is also why, you know, and
I'll give McVeigh credit. They were very public about it.
They were just not comfortable going any more than a
year to year basis with them, because let's fake that
he wanted like probably three years, one hundred and twenty
million dollars, and they're just like, that's not happening here.
So if you want to facilitate a trade, we'll work

(16:48):
with you, but this is our number and we're only
going one year. So they if this is a disaster
for them, at least they you know, kind of mitigated
the disaster from a big picture standpoint.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
John Mentalcoff's our guest here, Doug Ottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio.
John has the three Now podcast, the Volume podcast Network. Okay,
Caleb Williams is apparently struggling, but it's super hard to
tell because we see practice stats, we see one off
videos which are great of like a scrimmage open to

(17:21):
the public. We see him missing a target. It is
a team that suddenly we're paying attention to now. I think,
let's be honest, some of it's because Cowhert's moved to
Chicago's now he's talking Bears a whole lot more. Some
of it is they hired this offensive Gururru and Ben
Johnson that we expect to do. To Caleb Williams, what
he did you know? To Jared Goff, what are your

(17:41):
thoughts on the Bears and what seems like a struggle
in transition here for Kayleb Williams.

Speaker 9 (17:47):
Yeah, I agree with all those factors, but I also think,
you know, Klo's has just been such a big story
for years and he goes to this pretty big market. Now,
granted they haven't been that good. I think when you
look at the way he plays, Let's face this, you know,
Jayden Daniel is a hit. Vo Nicks is gonna be fine,
right as Sean Payne thinks he's a star. We'll see,

(18:07):
but he's gonna be good and more than likely with
Brady will Drake may is gonna be I don't know
if he's going to be a top six to seven quarterback,
but he's gonna be a starter for a while. Well,
we have the stats. Some of these guys are gonna
wis and I would say Caleb Williams, when you just
look at the way he's played, going back to when
he got shoved in there at Oklahoma, so he was
a couple of years sc to last year. He does

(18:28):
not play offensive football like the way that made Ben
Johnson a star. That's getting rid of the ball, like
hit the construct of his offense. There are certain offensive
coordinators the way Ben Johnson operates. I would say, Kyle Shanahan,
you know, Lafleur mix Ay's a little more like Andy
Reid where it's like, ah, you can freelance a little bit.
If Caleb was playing for Andy Reid, I'd be like, hey,

(18:49):
their styles, He'll figure out a way to play him.
Like I think Ben Johnson's already having issues because it's
a little Russell Wilson Sean Payton, like I want the
ball out of your hand fast. That's not how Caleb play.
And typically, even if you're a young player, I don't
care what sport you're playing, it's hard to just change
your style overnight when your instincts are something else. And

(19:11):
like Russell Wilson got away with it for a while
because he was exceptional at it based onlimited you know,
uh information, I'll sink Caleb at the NFL level felt
a little overwhelmed. So I definitely think this is not
just worrisome, but gonna be one of the biggest storylines
early in the season is like, how did Caleb Williams
look with this offensive coordinator? Because they they sound concerned?

Speaker 2 (19:36):
They do?

Speaker 3 (19:37):
They sound concerned? And this you sound this concern this
much into the preseason, and you should be concerned. Stug
Out leaves show here on Fox Sports Trader at the
John Millcoff is our guest. I'm trying to figure out
exactly why the Cowboys are here again right where?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Now you have.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Another star player who says now he says he wants
to be traded. I don't They're not trading him. I
don't think. Uh, the only argument for trading him would
be we're not gonna be good with him. Why not
get to first round picks for it and be good
without him? But why are they here? The one thing

(20:21):
I wonder, John, is why would you negotiate individually with
the player unless you felt like the agent was asking
for such a ridiculous contract that it was almost as
if he was antagonized him to get to this point.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
Yeah, I think at this point in time, after some
of the recent information that's come out and really just
now listening to Jerry who spoke again, I think we
just have to acknowledge and listen. I'm not some Jerry
Jones Hader. I think his story is like, I mean,
the guy came from nothing. What he created it was impressive,
but it feels like he's slipping, and he slipping dramatically,
but it feels like a I would say, pretty precipitous

(20:59):
drop in the last couple of years. Obviously from physically
he looks a lot older, but just when you listen
to him talk, I mean, if you see some clips
from ten years ago, let alone twenty thirty years ago,
I mean, this guy was, i mean, one of the
all time great American salesmen, and it feels like, not
only is he not throwing fastballs anymore. If he was
once throwing ninety nine, it feels Jerry's thrown about seventy five.

(21:22):
And at the end of the day he's still the boss.
So we've all, i'm sure, known people and family businesses
that were nowhere near the valuation of the cowboys. Even
if you're running some you know, family deli or family
whatever company, once the patriarch or the guy running it
really starts slipping, it can actually slow down operations. And

(21:43):
that's what it feels like. And now looking back and
makes a little more sense, maybe the last couple of
years and now we've hit a point in time where
it's just like, what are we even doing? And I
think this is different because anyone, if you knew anyone
with the Raiders and went out with slipping, they didn't
have money. You know, the financially the team and the

(22:04):
league was even at a different spot twenty years ago.
So the financially, like the Cowboys don't obviously have a
lot of cash if they want to fend it. It's
more just Jerry the stubborn mists, and I just think
he's flipping a lot like a player, right Players slow down,
they get cut, they retire, you know, owners don't really
retire and build the worst case scenario. And it feels

(22:25):
like we're in that stretch right now, like you know,
Al Davis with the overhead projector kind of with Jerry Jones' career.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Let me tell you why Lane Giffen is Alayah.

Speaker 9 (22:37):
Is a Liyah and barn It's out on that one.
And Lane's even talking about this. He was legitimately trying
to get fired and making it crazy like this one
doesn't need.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
To be like that, right, Yeah, I do, by the way,
I do, Like I don't know what point oh this
Lane Kiffin is, but I really like this point.

Speaker 9 (22:55):
Oh Lank different human now than he was in the past.
No good Physically, he looks like he's lost a bunch
of weights.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Jealous Yeah, yeah, yeah, stuck out.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Leave show here on Fox Sports Radio, John Middlecoff is
our guest. Shador Sanders as fourth on the depth chart,
I mean that falls right in line with you know,
he was the second quarterback drafted and they Kenny Pickens started,
and he's been a first round pick and Flacco's been
a super Bowl champion. Why would people lose their mind

(23:28):
over him being fourth in the depth chart?

Speaker 9 (23:30):
I don't know me. I haven't been as dialed in
this morning to the internet even the last like twenty
four hours on that specific story. But how is that
even a story? I mean, he was the second quarterback drafted.
They already had Kenny Pickett and Placo who started for
them before, Like, what did we think was going to happen?
Even if you just based it on the other guy
that he was drafted with that other guy was drafted

(23:51):
two rounds above him, So don't think it's that weird
at all. Look, the Browns are in major trouble. Their
team's gonna think, how are their quarterbacks? He told me
that Lamar Jackson, you know, kind of tweaked the hammy
in practice, you know, busting a run down the sideline.
I understand, but Howard can you pick and Dylan Gabriel
put hammys in practice like that's that's not really a

(24:11):
quarterback injury, especially with guys that I don't think are
viewed as you know, exactly Steve Young or Michael Vick here,
So what's that's that's a little bit of a red
flag for me. And that's sure what's quite going on
there in Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Stug Outleaby show here on Fox Sports Radio. John Middlecoff is,
in fact our guest. I've been asking everybody this because
I just you know, I don't want I don't want
to get to the end of the season. And somebody
going like, oh no, no, I called it. You mentioned Andy
Reid and how he's different from a McVeigh. Is this

(24:45):
the year the AFC catches up to him.

Speaker 9 (24:48):
To the chief. I mean I've bet against him the
last couple of years. The Bills last year and two years.
I bet against them three straight weeks, and definitely against
the Rave in the forty nine ers and the Super Bowl,
and every time you do, they just you know they're
they're one of those teams. Now that kind of feels
a little Jordan Bowles. You know, they're gonna have to

(25:09):
prove you wrong before I ever bet against them. But
you know, based on the hits for the league, like
the Niners and with Bill Watson, Joe Montana lost the
playoff games, right, Belichick and Brady lost to the Ravens,
lost to the Jets.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
Like it's.

Speaker 9 (25:25):
Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm that crazy comeback. I mean,
eventually a ball is not going to go your way.
You're going to roll an ankle of a key player.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
But they win the division every year. It's like, I mean,
they win eventually, they win everything, and it's it's impressive
as hell. At some point it has to come to
an end, and I just wonder if it comes in
in this year.

Speaker 9 (25:46):
I do think that Denver, when you look at them,
I mean, they played him close last year. They usually
should have won the game that the field goal is blocked.
You know, Sean Payton obviously has a lot of bravado
and cockiness, but I don't think him just throwing around
how much he believes in Vo Nicks and how good
he know this team. He coached from really good teams,
So I think he thinks they're gonna be a major factor.
And I was looking at the odds. I mean, you

(26:06):
get them like three to one to win the division.
You can have a division where it's like the Broncos
can win it with thirteen wins and they could win twelve.
It's not like if you don't pick the Chiefs, you
think they're gonna stink. But one of these years they're
just gonna win. I think two years ago, right, they
won eleven games they won the division. So last year
they won fifteen, but they won whatever what it felt like,

(26:27):
fifteen to one score games down the stretch. So yeah,
I mean it wouldn't shock me at all this year
if they were a wild card and not the division champs.
This isn't the Bills in the AFP East. Given how
hard it is and the Chargers. You talked me off
them last year. I was actually more bullish on him
last year than I kind of am this year. But
that's usually when Jim Harbaugh kind of sneaks up on you.

(26:49):
Not that I think they're gonna be bad, I just
you know, maybe they're still a year away from kind
of rounding this thing out.

Speaker 3 (26:56):

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Now, Sam, I almost want to throw this one in
in Rank them, because that's today, right Tuesday's rank them?

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Yes, rank them?

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Okay, if you guys look at your phone, heler your phone,
you'll see this ride in Saudi Arabia that collapsed.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
No one died.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
So that's why I think it's it's fair game. I'm
sure there's people that are hurt. Sorry they got hurt.

Speaker 11 (29:00):
But actually, now the.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Top three amusement park rides you will just avoid.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I am not doing it. There's no human on earth
that will make me do it.

Speaker 11 (29:10):
God, that's awful.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
You know which one I just never made any sense
for If we want, I don't know, we want to
do a collaborative one.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
I never understood the gravitron. So that gravitron is a
good county fair one. It's not a spin.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
The one you spin around it like lose you to
the wall.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
That's all you do.

Speaker 11 (29:28):
Oh we call that the silly silo in Iowa.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Okay, I just remember it.

Speaker 11 (29:32):
Was the cylinder and then the draf floor drops down.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
This is kind of like just a like around maybe
a diamond sort of shaped thing. It looks kind of
like a UFO and it just spins in a circle.
It doesn't Yeah, I just never understood that. Maybe it
goes up and down a little bit. But thinking of
something else, I bet you if you google it, gravitron
would pop up.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
I bet you that does feel like a transformer.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
I just never understood it, like I could understand like
while you'd go on a tilta whirl or like Grambler
or something.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
But I'll give you one.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
I don't like those swings that I mean, it starts
going around and there's basically like a chain link between
you and flying off into your untimely death.

Speaker 12 (30:16):
After Doug, after watching that video, I'm they're lucky it
landed the way it did, or else people would have
been maimed. Yeah, but yeah, the gravitron one, I don't
think I've actually ever done that.

Speaker 11 (30:28):
Uh, it does look like a UFO.

Speaker 12 (30:29):
I was thinking of a thing called the silly silo
where you stand in the cylinder and start spinning around
and you like stick. Maybe does the same thing. It's
you stick to the wall. Then they drop the floor
out and you don't want to like spit or try
to peel yourself off the because you'll just go right
back to the surface.

Speaker 11 (30:46):
You'll just go.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
There's one person that goes just flying in.

Speaker 11 (30:48):
This centrivical force.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Sorry, go ahead, go ahead. Uh, that's okay.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I've also loved how Wikipedia has pages on the Gravitron
and other amusement park rides. But Doug, we are doing
rank them on this Tuesday. Let's rank the best pre
seasons in sports. Best pre seasons in sports. It's got
the best preseason. I think we know.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Baseball's one, yes, not even close.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Let's get the guys together. It's go check out some
spring training games.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
I have friends that are like, I don't even like baseball.
I went spring training and I love it now now
I'm like into everything about it. Spring training is one.
I'm gonna go NBA two. From this perspective, they do.
They play international teams, so there's a little bit. You know,
when you play two NBA teams against each other, it's
guys that don't ever play, but most guys do play,

(31:42):
and they play international teams.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
The international teams are trying to win. I'll go NBA two,
NFL three.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
All right, Doug, rank your top three running backs in
the NFL right now this summer.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
He's Barkley's one. Cool. When it gets really interesting, I
mean I can go full packer and go Josh Jacobs two. Right.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Bunch of a bunch of great nominees, yeah, John Robinson,
Tamir Gibbs yep, Derrick Henry yep, Christian McCaffrey despite his injuries.

Speaker 11 (32:21):
He's back, baby, he's back. What he's back and healthy?

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Well, yeah, but he's never healthy. I'll do McCaffrey too,
and I'll do Derek Cay, and I'll do be John Robinson.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Three. Okay, all right.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Doug ranked the surefire Hall of Famers from the first
timers that we could get in twenty twenty six. Now
the list is longer, but I provided five names. Of
those five, what three get in the Hall.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
That first ballot?

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Larry Fitzgerald's the first ballot, and I it's say Philip Rivers.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Is that's where I wondered where you were gonna go. Yeah,
Frank Gore and Jason Whitten were other options. Also, the
likes of Julian Edelman.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Is first time. Is he a first time?

Speaker 11 (33:16):
No, I don't even.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Think he's a Hall of Famer, But but his playoffs.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Wes Walker should be a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
My argument is Wes Walker was the best third down,
best third down wide receiver in the league for three
four years. Is most important down in football. I got over,
I got I got shouted down.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
But that's the in.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Three is Philip Rivers, two is is Drew Brees, one is.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Larry Fitzgerald, okay, fits who never really announced his retirement.
He's never had an official retirement. And that's game time.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb Show.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
Coming up next to The Doug Gottlieb Show, we may
dive into your top three Adam Sandler movies, which was
also in the list. But we also can talk about
Shador Sanders. Is it a crime that he's fourth in
the depth chart.
