Speaker 2 (00:08):
A happy Monday to you unless you're the head coach
of the Raiders, Cardinals, Browns, Falcons. We found out last night.
Tough day for some NFL head coaches, as you heard
from Isaac loh and cromb. But Monzi, we're going to
power through.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh yeah, We're going to power it through. Sorry to
those guys.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Pete Carroll's fine though, as I see him on my screen,
he's fine.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I think he wanted out of there.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
He was like, listen, if you don't fire me, I
am just gonna fire myself.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
This is how I look at Pete Carroll. Your job
was to go in there and win right away. Not
only did he do that, not only did he not
plan for the future, he left the place in a
worse spot than it was. So he was a no brainer. Yeah,
real out the door.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
And with his history, it's like, like you said, we
wanted to change now right Like it's like you know
exactly who he is and what he brings to the table.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
And doesn't work.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I the Raiders took a risk he was when you
removed from coaching in Seattle, you know, up there in Age.
I heard they may be interested in Dick Van Dyke
as the next head coach. I wiss Have you heard those?
Have you heard those? I was trying to think of
an old guy living in Yes, yeah, a month ago,
(01:18):
Happy birthday.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
It's the challenge, right, because you saying Dick van Dyke,
You've already lost more than half our audience. I was thinking,
but I was thinking George Burns, and that would have
really disconnected.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Oh he liked that one. You got him, You got him?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
There's yeah, I liked it. It was very good, very
good because he's he's and he's been gone long enough
where it's we're not like like we're not being insensitive
to his passing, right, I mean he was one hundred
for fifty years. Yeah, oh good line, very good.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
I don't even know if he got to one hundred,
but he was old for a long time. Let's go
to the statman, Isaac Lohenkron, George Burns, how old was
he when he died?
Speaker 7 (02:00):
And where you're looking at your kid?
Speaker 2 (02:01):
When did he die?
Speaker 7 (02:03):
Okay, he actually made it, passed one hundred born in
January of eighteen ninety six, passed away in March of
nineteen ninety six. Well done, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
So twenty years. What day in January in eighteen ninety six?
Speaker 7 (02:19):
January twenty so inauguration day. So I'm sure there was
a president inaugurated Andrew Jackson.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I know it wasn't. William McKinley's pretty close.
Speaker 7 (02:30):
No, you got it. Good old Billy McKinley.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Good job, good job, impress it.
Speaker 6 (02:38):
He didn't make it very long, poor William McKinley. Yeah,
he left stage left a few years.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
I think he had a rough day at the train
station once that.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah. Yeah, wow, great great knowledge there, the Raiders. How
we got from Pete Carroll to President McKinley. It's what
we do here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (02:56):
Even Dennis Miller is being like, wow, that's a lot,
even for me.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Well, we did hit the eighty five to one hundred
and five demographic, at least with our listening audience. Love
it or hate it, it's what we bring you on
a Monday.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
What did you love? God?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
I love you?
Speaker 7 (03:12):
And what did you hate?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Meet these player hays. A couple of weeks. You can
hear a radio station say, and a happy birthday to
George Burns. It would have been one hundred and thirty today,
A very very happy birthday, all right. Jason Stewart, you
you are our you are our thoughtful skeptic here. Yes,
(03:35):
So when it comes to the love and hate, I'm
actually just going to have you lead off the first
love of twenty twenty six.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Well, thank you, Dan. I haven't loved a sports story
like this in quite some time. I sent you you
and Masca text yesterday that you didn't respond to, But
that's no big deal. I was working, Yeah, that's fine.
I was openly rooting for Mitch Trubisky to not throw
an interception yesterday and finish the perfect season by the Jets,
(04:02):
and it happened, and I was so happy. Aaron Glenn,
to me, has been such an entertaining part of the season,
and it's looking like, if you're reading the tee Weiss,
he's going to keep his job. So that's good for us,
the people that work in sports talk content. It's good
that Aaron Glenn's going to keep his job because remember
I don't know eleven months ago, remember he provided this
(04:23):
at his opening press conference to any players.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's here. Now, put your seat belts on and get
ready for the ride. Put your seatbelts on and get
ready for the ride. Listen.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
There are going to be some challenges, but what challenges
becomes opportunity gets opportunity.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
But here's what I do know. We're the freaking New
York Jets, so we're build for the now.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
What the the listeners don't know is that I had
the editing department beep out the last part and what
he actually says is we aren't built for picks. We
aren't built for picks. By the way, courtesy to Sam
for dropping that one. I stole his line.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
I was trying to pretend like.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
So anyways, my favorite story of the seasons has now
come full circle. I loved it. Thank you Aaron Glenn.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I love that from the weekend. I'd also like to
say Jason wanted me to jump off the ship of
Aaron Glenn staying next year. He actually tried to bully
me a few weeks ago in trying to move off
of that and he it was close, honestly it was.
But in the end, I said, Aaron Glenn stays. And again,
(05:28):
since the last time that I checked the stat both
the Cowboys, Titans, and Niners each added interceptions, so the
gap was zero and then the next worst was six
interceptions in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
How hard is it like It's almost like you have
to try to not to not fall into your lap. Yeah,
there was an interception yesterday. I think that went off
of an offensive line and it just fell into the
stomach of a defensive lineman. There's no skill to that.
It's just so strained.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Got Drake Thomas's interception of brock Perty on Christian McCaffrey
play on Saturday night. By the way, it leads me
to my love, I did love it. I'm not going
over one with the Seahawks win. I think that they
just as well could be bounced in the divisional playoffs,
especially if the Rams come to town. If the Rams
end up beating the Panthers and that's the matchup in
(06:18):
the second round of the playoffs. But there was something
great about seeing them go to San Francisco and take
an offense again. Brock Perty accounted for ten touchdowns in
the last two games. He had eight touchdown passes and
two rushing five in each of the games against the
Colts and the Bears. And I know they didn't have
Trent Williams, and that was a big part of it.
Not lost on me. But to see the defense just
(06:41):
absolutely swarm and take over and win in San Francisco
and avenge the loss from earlier in the season and
to grab the number one overall seed. As a Seahawks fan,
it was very, very satisfying on Saturday night. But again,
it's Kobe Bryant once told Ted, Sobel, I'm sure to
be happy about job's not finished. When our boss texted
(07:04):
me congratulations, I had to use that meme. I said
it yesterday and it fell flat here, so I'm hoping that.
But I was happy on Saturday. But now there's other business.
But it was great to see the Seahawks top the Niners.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
No, they convincingly won. It should have been twenty eight
to three.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, and that's like the Seahawks offense. They ran the
ball better than they had in previous situations. But it
has been a Seahawk thing and one of the reasons
why I think people don't buy into them because they
should have been by twenty three to three. However, you
wanted to put it a bunch of situations that they
let go through their grasp and in the playoffs you
(07:44):
can't have those. Hopefully they can avoid them.
Speaker 7 (07:46):
Now.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
On Friday, we spent some real estate I forget if
I think it was during the coveno in Rich hours
on the fact that Dan turned down Rich Davis's invite
to go watch the game on Saturday night with a
bunch of people, A few of them will be rooting
for the Niners. So are you Are you very glad
that you did not join that party on Saturday night,
(08:08):
that just sitting there alone being able to watch every
single play.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
One hundred because it would have been frustrating, especially too,
like if the forty nine er fans were cheering in
the fourth quarter where they had momentum up until that interception,
and if they would have scored, Like I don't know,
if the Seahawks win that game, if it's thirteen to ten,
the offense hadn't been doing a ton. Forty nine ers
had seemed to find their you know, found their rhythm.
The amazing thing about what Seattle did was when they
(08:35):
then got the football is they did have a drive
that went the entire length of the field to kind
of take the air out of everything. But I would
not have enjoyed it. I would not have enjoyed the
comeback forty nine or cheers. I am so glad I
was at home. And I think I've told you this.
My son loves the animals of the NFL. Like if
there's two teams playing, he's good cheer for the animal
over anything else. He's on this Rams kick and it
(08:56):
really ticks me off, and I'm trying to tell him
to not cheer for the ram but he also considers
it kind of a farm animal, which, all right, whatever,
he doesn't like the forty nine ers because I was
at least able to convince him yes, And then he goes,
if the Rams play the forty nine ers, do we
cheer for the Rams? And I'm like, sure, yes, okay,
it's technically sheep. I guess yes, yeah, yeah, right, yeah,
(09:17):
I'm not gonna fight. I haven't won an argument yet
in his four and a half years.
Speaker 7 (09:21):
On a related story, with our Moncey Bolangos having being
snubbed from being invited to this get together, Camino and
rich will be in at the top of the hour,
will there be a confrontation.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
To me, they're dead to me, I'm not speaking to them.
Speaker 7 (09:34):
Yeah, got I agree. Yeah, like I didn't get invited,
but I'm actually not upset about that. I'm upset that
they did not invite you as you should be.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
No, no, no, they're dead to me. They're dead to me.
I may trip them as I see them walk by.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
Dan, you could have ultimately observed Rich observing his team
get the air squeezed out of him, which may have
been gratifying at the very end of it. That's maybe
not fun until that.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Sounds really selfish, but I think every fan should realize it.
It's not about him. It's about me. Yeah, it was
about It's true.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
And and that's what it was about your pleasure, not
richest pain, right, that's it?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Ye here, absolutely my joy rather joy. Yeah, the pleasure
kind of hit weird, hit your ear weird too. Jason's
trying to a pain for Yeah, I know, I know,
I know, I know where you're going. I totally get it.
But it did I guess it did? It did? It?
Is the keat on? Am I sweating? Love and hate? Yeah?
Why are the windows fogging up? What's what's going on here? Sam?
(10:28):
All right? Sorry, Matzi? What did you love from the weekend?
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I'll keep it quick. Here.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
What I loved about the weekend is all the memes
and gifts I saw of Kurt Signetti after they beat Alabama,
that video of him walking up and down the inspection.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Expecting the car after your son used it for the night.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
But it's that's the best. That's a good one.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
But all of those clever people, I wish I could
have thought of something clever.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I'm like wondering, what could I say. I'm doing, just
like Kurt Signetti is up and down. It's so good inspection.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
I literally have been on social media all weekend just
to see what people are reposting with that Kurt Signati
intant me hilarious, huh hilarious.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Loved it, loved it. Keep pulling them.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Out, guys again. I just love how college football was
thought to be built on the shoulders of all of
these blue bloods, if you will, and Indiana has become
so much of a story that I think they're now
naturally becoming Manci's college football team.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Naturally.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
It's like starting to evolve, and it's truly one of
the best things that has happened to college football. And
is someone who is a fan of a school that
is a now rival of Indiana. I don't enjoy it
as much, but it's truly fascinating as a college football
fan to watch it to see how it's taken over,
honestly in such a positive way, like like we hate
(11:51):
transfer portal and people are celebrating, Hey, let who are
you landed on the transfer port like you even know
they were three months ago. And it's completely taken over
college football in a good way.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
It really has.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
And Kurt Signetti and Fernando Mendoza that people are saying
he's the old guy in up and then the kid
is Fernano Mendoza and there's it's exactly what they are,
completely opposite, you know. The old guy is always like
grumpy and then the kid is in the background like like.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
It's a good ying ying, so good ying yan, whatever
it is, you balance the balance, the fung schway, the
the gun, Pat McAfee, it's just so it was great.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Loved it.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I was Sam, would you love from the weekend?
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Well, I do love bowling, Mancey Bolanos and uh I
was there's you know, I don't do enough bowling in LA.
I've gone bowling like twice in the last couple of
years once with Ryan Berschinger, who works here, and for
his birthday. But uh, it takes a lot to coax
me out of my apartment when I'm under the weather
a little bit. I just was gonna have some dinner,
watch the Holiday Bowl, go to bed, get some rest.
(12:55):
But Moncey calls me up at like seven and she's like, hey, coming.
So this is this was weakend love here, so it
still counts. Uh So she she calls me up at
like seven and I'm like exhausted. I'm like, oh, my
voice is crap. You know, I just wanted to go
to sleep. She's like, We're going to this place right
down the street, right down Ventura Boulevard, and it's really
like a ten minute drive for me.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
So I'm like, oh, bowling.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
I don't bowl enough here, And you know, it's just
she cokes me out of my apartment even though I
was kind of under the weather. I wasn't it was
my uh it was my Michael Jordan a bowling flu game.
I don't know, just to at least get me out
there and get me going. So we went, and uh
it was it was a lot of fun. I love bowling,
and so the only not a lot of things can
get me out on Friday n if I'm under the weather.
But Manci calling me to go bowling.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I yelled at him, was like, we need you.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Saw my crap today? Still, well, I worked.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
I'm not gonna lie. It was like speed bowling. I
worked up a sweat. Yeah, and I'm kind of embarrassed
to admit that, but I was sweating because we were
going so fast.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
We bowled so much in two hours. I don't know.
I don't know if it's payback for the non Caveno
and Rich invite, but I think you're even I don't
think you guys have a reason to be mad. You
guys had your own bowling.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
This was not planned at all.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
They never are.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
I was gonna go bowlying with just the boyfriend, and
then when we booked two hours, we were like, oh
that's a long time.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
So you just go back and forth between two people.
We need like a group.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
The boyfriend I were at the bar drinking and then
we like booked a lane. I called him because he
was down the street, and I called Brie because I
knew she was staying at a hotel down the street, and.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I yelled at both of them to get out, and
I was like, I booked it in thirty minutes. Get
to the Barn Valley right now.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I was pouring rain.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
I couldn't see the road, but I was like, okay,
I actually got here pretty quick.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
So I worked out and then so I loved it.
It was a great time.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yeah, not planning it worked out.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
By the way, A great way to not go back
to back sickness. When you're recovering from a cold, go
to the bowling alley right, use the holes that other
people use, and then you won't get sick again. It's
a perfect remedy.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
I was like, I've been dealing with this chess cold
for like a week. I've gone to some of those
German fested places in La Universal Studio.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yes, German infested, so what German's there?
Speaker 6 (15:04):
Vacation But like I've just like I've run the gamut
of of of the Petri dish. So but you know
what we we we you got to live life. So
it was great time Friday night, all right, top that,
Isaac Low and crown with what you love from that?
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Isaac.
Speaker 7 (15:16):
I can't there's there's no way. I just am kind
of contemplating in my mind some sort of Monsey Bowl
Lanio's endorsement deal for Bowling Alley. Yes, where you're come here,
come bowling wrong killing you.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
That's literally with me on the phone, I didn't even give.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (15:40):
Well, we'll have our marketing department get on that stat Yes,
you're right, I cannot compete. Uh, it's merely Miles Garrett
breaking the NFL all time sack record for the Cleveland
brown So much respect for him for breaking the record,
especially considering the relatively low amount of pass attempts by
(16:02):
the Browns opponents compared to other teams, which means that
he has a lot fewer opportunities than typical to sack
the quarterback, and the guy still broke the record. I
would encourage everybody. After the show on YouTube, they put
together a couple of videos on there the NFL of
Miles garrett off season conditioning routine and how he has
(16:25):
a whole team of specialists for every aspect of his training, nutrition, massage,
tissue recovery, et cetera, et cetera. They have this one drill.
They have an influencer who's like the only influencer that
I actually think is cool at our DC world one
and he goes through a workout with Miles Garrett and
(16:46):
as part of the drill, Miles Garrett is laterally pulling
a sled, so he's not going up and down, he's
going laterally back and forth. And he's so strong he's
literally pulling this guy with his body weight on the sled.
So hats off to Miles.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Garrett quite the record. I already used my love, but
if I had another, I love how the Bengals accepted
that with class yesterday. Let's get to our hate for
the weekend. Maybe that is Isaac Longcron's hate. Isaac, I'll
throw it back to you.
Speaker 7 (17:17):
That's exactly what my hate was. So the Bengals, Zach
Taylor and Jamar Chase were upset because the officials stopped
play after Miles Garrett's record breaking sack. They're down seventeen
to twelve in the fourth quarter about five minutes ago.
They stopped the game, and Zach Taylor and Jamar Chase
(17:38):
are complaining. Taylor says he was not informed of it
before the game, which is understandable, but he had his
undies in a bundle because he wanted to go with
a quick tempo and not sub after the sack, and
that allowed the Browns the opportunity to match up with
the game stoppage when they wanted to go quick tempo,
(18:00):
and among other things, he said, we're fighting for our
lives here. We're playing for our lives here. And I'm like, dude,
First of all, that's essentially an extra timeout for your team.
You're down seventeen to twelve or five minutes ago, and
it'll be another thing if you were in playoff contention.
But come on, you've long since been eliminated from the playoffs.
(18:23):
It's an all time NFL record. It's not like a
guy moving into seventh place in franchise history on the
all time passes defense list. They only stop the game
if you break a prominent NFL record. So in that situation,
saying that you're playing for our lives here, no soft,
(18:47):
soft soft and unlikable.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yes, waft you and Jamar Chase for saying that.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
What did you hate, Monci?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
What did I hate? Well?
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I hated that the Clippers lost to the Celtics, but
more importantly, I hated that Derek Jones Junior, who just
came back from an injury that he suffered against the
Boston Celtics, where Jalen Brown dives for a ball, goes
into his knee, and the exact same thing happens with
Peyton Pritchard who dives for a ball, goes towards the
knee of.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
The same knee for Derek Jones Junior, and now he's out.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
That's what I hated, deja vous all over again with
the same thing. It was like, you put the plays
back to back and you're like, how how does this
happen against the same team.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Taching Matt Right, they teach It's a Celtics things, right,
those darn Celtics.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
I'm so.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I was so mad.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
I was so the minute I saw it, I said,
he's out. He's out again, same same knee, same injury,
out again.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
I'll tell you what I hated, and I hated that
Riley Leonard played well yesterday because it took a little
bit of shine off of the Philip Rivers experiment and
then makes you wonder maybe the cult should have just
gone with Riley Leonard over the last couple of weeks.
I hope it didn't take away from Philip Rivers, but
I guess in a way. Kudos to Riley Leonard for
competing and playing well again against the Houston Texans. He
(20:01):
did fill in for Daniel Jones and played well in
that loss to Jacksonville a few weeks ago. But we
had loved Philip Rivers over the previous three weeks. Unfortunately
they went oh and three. Riley Leonard held his own
and then some against Houston. Maybe they should have just
played him those three games. I don't know. I didn't
wish any ill will for Riley Leonard, but to see
(20:24):
how well he played, then you're thinking, like, all right,
maybe they shouldn't have gone to Philip Rivers.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Was Riley Leonard sorry injured me?
Speaker 2 (20:32):
He was?
Speaker 3 (20:32):
He was.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
He got hurt in that Jacksonville game where he was
questionable to play. So you bring in Philip Rivers, you
don't know if he's going to be able to play
against Seattle. He ultimately was ready to play against Seattle,
but they had brought Philip Rivers in and alright, when
you bring him in, you're not gonna be like, hey,
you're in a quarterback competition. You give him the job.
But yes, by the.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Way, Ryan Clark, who was the most outspoken against Philip
Rivers over the last couple of weeks he was taking
victory WAPs. Yesterday after that was he kind of the
opposite of what you're feeling right now.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yeah, yeah, but hey, I loved what Philip Rivers gave
us and Riley Leonard hopefully le have a long career
in the NFL. Yeah all right, Iowa, Sam, would you hate?
Speaker 6 (21:10):
I think Jason should go first because mine sort of related,
but I don't want to step on his.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Why don't we go to Jason first?
Speaker 7 (21:16):
Sam doesn't want to?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Sam up? Thank you?
Speaker 5 (21:18):
It's interesting the spins on Press Your Luck. I think
we've taught Sam Well. He's stopping himself from Sam and up.
It's pretty amazing, Sam Well.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
That was my Spanish name in the Spanish Samuel.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
I've often said on this show that I care less
about what happens in sports than I do about how
it's covered. And this is what I mean.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
The Steelers win last night on the missfield goal by
what's the name loot poot poop, and uh, everyone goes
nuts about Mike Turrico's call. Now most of it was positive.
How to Ico's amazing. He got wrapped up in a
great emotion and then there was a sub section of people,
(21:59):
dare I say superstitious people Ravens fans who did not
appreciate Mike Turrico saying this before the kick.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
They went around the country and spoke to a lot
of the kickers who were.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Coming out, and they decided Tyler Luke was made of
the right stuff for moments like this.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
He now has a chance to win the division for the.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
Ravens the final playoff the regular season for the final
spot in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Tyler Luke from forty.
Speaker 7 (22:30):
Four stick cook, I'm fos.
Speaker 8 (22:39):
I've a chucking to the north.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
Now you notice Mike has set up the kick by
saying they went out and got this guy. He's built
for moments like this, And I hated that moment for
Ravens fans. I'm the guy who's sitting there on my
couch saying, did Terarico just say that? That's the last
thing you want to hear if you're a Ravens fan.
For a basically, just an easy.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Is a scene setter, and he does he missed. Everything
is just easy as it goes, just throwing along, just
like the Holy Water. And then when they showed the clip,
it was the wrong end zone. This was the kick.
This was the end zone. Now there was a clip
that surfaced later on of the priest putting the holy
water in that end zone, but it wasn't the ones
(23:24):
shown on NBC. And I think Tarico realized that midkick
that his feel good story with the video that they
were showing did not add up. Some people caught it
to it online. It's an open ended stadium, so you know,
one end over the other, and he was doing it
in the far end zone at the one that they
were showing on NBC. Yeah, maybe maybe not a good
(23:47):
night for NBC in that Pittsburgh Steelers Ravens game. Tough
one for Melissa Stark, tough one for Mike Trico and
Iowa Sam wrap it up with it. Whatever is to
blame for Tyler Loops. Miss I do hate.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
I do hate kickers having to deal with moments like that.
And Chris Boswell was just in that position, you know,
of whatever, ten minutes prior, five minutes prior, and it's
just such a kicking is such such a weird thing,
like it's a specialty. You're you're treated differently, You're you're
sort of like a different section of the football team
and You're like, the guys always say you got one job,
(24:22):
but there is something odds about a sequence of snapping
the ball, holding it, a setting it, and kicking it
through the uprights. It It can things can go sideways, literally,
and no matter if you're nine of ten or ten
of ten from that distance through the season or whatever.
It's just like, I feel for these guys because obviously
they want to make it, but it's like it's like, Okay,
(24:42):
you're gonna sign this contract here, we're gonna give you
ten million dollars. And then I signed my name or
whatever someone signs their name, they didn't dot the lowercase J,
and they say, oh, it's invalid. Now you did everything
up until this point, but you didn't do that one
little bit, the little whether it's Boswell's extra point missed
or the field goal. And you were like, and then like,
how does Isaiah likely feel after that after making that
(25:03):
amazing catch to put them in position? And so like
I saw John Hartbaugh consoling Tyler Loop after the game
on the in the tunnel, and I just like, I
hate it. I feel for him because you know, these guys,
they just kick over and over hundreds, if not thousands,
of practice kicks and then it goes it goes like this.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Unfortunately for you, you were in a lose lose situation
because if Loop makes it, you're feeling bad for Chris Boswell.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
So there, yeah, there was two kickers. There were sports. Yeah,
that's sports baby.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
They literally showed Chris Boswell right before the kick on
the sideline because he knew.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
He was like, they're about to win and they have
just cast.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Us the gut. His guts were, you know, all wrenched up.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
So he also went from like agony to ecstasy too,
and then port Tyler Loop went the other way.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
All right. There, It is our first edition in twenty
twenty six of Love and Hate.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Fox Sports Radio had the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (26:01):
The Dolphins having their own issues, but I think that
Mike McDaniel has I think he'll be back in twenty
twenty six, and now you're trying to find a general
manager just a matter of tool will be back. The
Philadelphia Eagles, well, they're in the playoffs. They don't have
anything to worry about except they should have worried about
yesterday Monson, and as we were going through the Sunday games,
(26:24):
Let's be real, last night saved everything, but Sunday as
a whole stunk. Do you agree, yes? Yes, you were
there for all seven hours Falcons game? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:33):
What was I watching?
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yes, just a bunch of whatever. The Chargers weren't playing
their starters. The Bills put Josh Allen in for a
snap and then he left. There wasn't a ton to
play for. The Rams pulled away from the Cardinals, but
the Eagles had made the decision to not try to play,
to not play their starters and have Tanner McKee start
at quarterback. Tank Bigsby was the lead running back as
(26:57):
the Commanders came to town. If you played your full star,
that is an easy winnable game for the Philadelphia Eagles.
They said, we don't care, we want to be healthy.
We had Tom Tlasco here last hour. Former gam and
the Chargers and Raiders said. I sided on the side
of rest. That was the side that I'm on. Didn't
matter who we played anywhere, but I think it does matter.
(27:17):
I think it matters for the Eagles. I would much
rather play Green Bay than San Francisco in the first round.
I also would rather be at home if I had
to play the Bears again. I know Chicago went there
and won on Black Friday, but I would like another
crack at them in my home stadium. So to me,
playing for the two seed was worth playing for. And
(27:38):
you knew the Lions were gonna play, especially against Ben Johnson, right,
and the Lions end up winning the game in oh
What could have been for the Eagles. Nick Sirianni says, Yeah,
I understand, but we had our plan and that was
our plan. But I think that they shouldn't have planned
that way as the three seed. I think they should
have played their guys yesterday, and being a two seed
is much better in my eyes than being a three seed.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Yeah, I agree with you. I think that was the
wrong decision.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
But we're also talking to a team that's been to
the Super Bowl more often than not in the last
couple of years. We're talking to a team that did
this last year when Saquon Barkley could have broken the record,
a team that chose to to rest when something was
on the line. So I feel like this was always
going to be their decision. It just seems like that's
(28:24):
They're very like, no, we need the rest. We've been here,
done that, we don't care who we're gonna play. I
agree with you, though, I think i'd rather face the
backers and the forty nine ers, and I would absolutely
love to see the Bears at home, not on the road.
So I agree with you, but I think to them
it was like the rest, clearly, as Tom Telesco said,
was way more important. But we saw them do this
(28:45):
last year, so I guess we shouldn't be that surprised.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Well, you know, they were the two seed last year,
and because the lines were upset, they got the NBC
Championship at home and chips fall where they may. Whatever
the case is, I guess it's the any time I'm anywhere,
I just thought, for yesterday, on a day that didn't
have a lot to play for, the Eagles could have provided.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Us that and maybe even just playing a little bit right,
like you don't even have to play maybe the whole game,
just getting a little bit of it you maybe could
have won.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Maybe facing a peak season. Looking for a new team member,

Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs, but yesterday said goodbye
to their homes since nineteen seventy three. They bid farewell
(29:34):
to high Mark Stadium in the only way that you can.
She's Monzi, I'm Dan. We'll explain next year on Fox
Sports Radio. Goodbye.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Fox Sports Radio had the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 8 (29:54):
Two receivers tied to the formation on the right. Palmer
on the left takes the handoff, rolls right, Ray Davis
reaching for the end zone, and he spun into the
end zone for the touchdown Ray Davis where there's second
receiving touchdown off the season.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I think Manzi's crying.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
I think, y'all, why are there certain songs that just
get to you?
Speaker 2 (30:19):
This is this is true. She's Fontslanios, I'm Dan byer.
This was played WGR five to fifty Bills Radio Network
with the highlight as they said goodbye to high Mark
Stadium yesterday, and one of the lasting images was the
video montage played on the JumboTron at high Mark Stadium
(30:42):
in Buffalo after the game, where nobody left players some
players stayed on the field. T Davius White one of
the players that watched this five minute video montage of
all the highlights of high Mark Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium,
Rich Stadium, whatever the various names it had been called
over the the last fifty three years, and it was
(31:03):
only fitting that Buffalo's own Goo Goo Dolls's Iris would
be the song to play with these highlights. And I'm
sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house. And
if you've listened to Fox Sports Radio enough, you know
that Jason Stewart and I made a trip to Buffalo
in September to see a game at high Mark Stadium.
(31:23):
So it did resonate with me in seeing that highlight
package and seeing the memories because I wanted to see
a game in that stadium. Jason, did it resonate with
you at all? From being there just a few months ago?
Speaker 5 (31:36):
From being there, it resonated in this and that I
really I developed an appreciation for the Bills fans, the
people out there. They're just really sweet people, hard working,
salt of the Earth people. Who deserve a championship, so
I pulled for them. But I'm sorry, I've got to
I've always got to sit this one out. I'm not
a goo goole Dolls person, especially this song. I've always
(31:59):
thought it was overly sappy and or produced. And yeah,
I'm sorry I had to sit this one out.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Also, why am I not surprised? I'm I'm James Stewart
of saying this though.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah I was. I was a bit surprised actually that
it didn't tug on your heartstrings like that. Mancy hasn't
even seen the Bills video and she was crying as
we are coming back to break.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
You showed me a piece of it because I was
here yesterday and I saw it, like you know, in passing,
but I didn't have the volume on because I'm paying.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Attention to a bunch of things, and you put it
on for a second. I was like, I can't watch this.
I'm gonna cry. I'm gonna cry.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I started to get teary eyed. I will admit. You're
just seeing it and seeing like nineteen eighties bills highlights
from that stadium and just yeah, knowing.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
That it's the end of something. It's the end of
an era. Okay, yes, like Monica and Rachel, it's the
end of an era.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
The question is Mancey, is this your gold medal winner
or is this your silver silver medal winner? Because I
think there's only one farewell song that can rival And
it was obvious that the Bills would use the band
from their hometown. But if there is one song that
(33:10):
I think rivals the Highlight Package, the Farewells, the Tears,
it's this one. Okay, This is the rivalry that I
want to know when you're talking about Goodbye Montages, farewells,
see you Later? Are you going Green Day or are
(33:31):
you going Goo Goo dolls?
Speaker 4 (33:34):
I think there's a third song we can incorporate in this, okay,
Sarah mclough lens I will remember you.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
I feel like that's another one.
Speaker 7 (33:44):
You know what's kind of generational because the one you're
playing now Sincerely twenty years ago was huge. But what
about see You Again from the Fast and Furious soundtrack?
Remember that's Oh, I like what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
That is generational because I do know what song you're
talking about does hit the spot?
Speaker 3 (34:02):
This one hits the spot because I think this was
my eighth grade graduation.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I know what song Isaac's talking about.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Yes, it's to do hold on. I can't sing it
because I'm thinking of this song.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
Yeah, it's by Whiz Khalifa and Charlie Puff.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, Charlie Pooth.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
Yes, Charlie Poo.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Okay, yeah, that's not rival. That does not I get it,
like I get like you're thinking, but I'm sorry. It's
Goo Goo Dolls or it's this one. When someone retires,
they play this one, or they play Google Dolls. When
someone graduates high school, they play this one. When someone
moves to a new town, they play this one or
the Goo Goo Dolls. It is one or the other.
(34:40):
I don't think that there's there may be a bronze medal,
but it's either this or it's Google it is I.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Think from the one that gets more of my heartstrings
would probably be Iris.
Speaker 6 (34:55):
Just add cello to any song and it automatically can
hit the podium to make it emotional. A little cello
in there, a little acoustic guitar. I think there's cello
all throughout Google Doll's music. Here and the song obviously,
which one was intended to make you cry?
Speaker 2 (35:11):
This one?
Speaker 3 (35:12):
This one was I think I think so too.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
So when you're playing a highlight, do me a favor.
Play the bills highlight over this? Yeah, can we start?
Start it? Sorry, just go right from the beginning. Tell
tell me what gives you the chicken skin? What gives
you the goosebumps? When you're listening to Green Day and
play the bills highlight that we had just heard.
Speaker 8 (35:38):
Two receivers tied to the formation on the right, Palmer
on the left start Cry has reached this reaching for
the end zone, and he spun into the end zone
for the touchdown Ray Davis where there's second.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
And I like Goo Goo Dolls a lot, I really do.
Jason and I are opposite. He doesn't like him, I
really do. I'm a big fan of the Goo Goo Dolls.
My first ever concert. Yeah. So are you siding with Iris? Though?
Oh yeah, yeah, you like I like to go.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
I think Black Balloon very heavy subject matter. Yeah, really
pulls on my heart strings. Yeah no, that's a great
song and this song too, yeah well Iris?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yes? Iris?
Speaker 6 (36:20):
Yeah, yes, they have like their five big hits like
get Me a Little Little Emo.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Jason, you would choose this is? Are you more for
this song than than Iris? This is a much better song.
This song though a much better song.
Speaker 6 (36:34):
Like growing up in the era of Green Day, this
was played obviously dances, graduations, and weddings like and inter Perpetuity.
I like like overplayed, but it's a great song, but
a little overplayed.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
I would mock people leaving work with this song, like,
I hope you had a great shift, I hope you
had the time. Nice look at her, She's full tis
full tears. I want to go out with Google because
I just thought it was a great scene in Buffalo
that they may host the game if it's a Bill's
Chargers AFC championship game, it's very unlikely. Maybe it'd be
Jason Stewart and Isaac Low and Crown's wish in Manti's
(37:07):
wish as well, But yeah, that would be the only
way that we could see another game at high Mark Stadium.
But they did it well. Yeah, everybody stayed, everybody cried,
everybody cheered, and they won. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
No, I was I've never been there, and I'm crying.
I'm freaking crying. I hate this.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
I hate this.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
It's the end of our show.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
I am crying because it's the end of our show.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Should I just walk out and leave like guess.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
On your phone and walk away from me.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Oh man, A Battle Royale. Let us know who wins
at Monte at dan Byre on Fox thanks to Isaac
Low and Cron Jason Stewart Iowa, Sam Moncey and I
will be back tomorrow. Yeah, we'll even take your feedback
from this in this Battle.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Royale, no crying tomorrow, yeah
Speaker 2 (37:49):
No, no more tears on Fox Sports Radio
