you with the Pro Football Hall of Fame? That's like,
my first question is how familiar are you with the

(01:05):
Pro Football Hall of Fame? I asked that because I
think we do this thing where we act like the
Pro Football Hall of Fame is something more prestigious than
any other Hall of Fame, and the reality to it

(01:27):
is that's not totally the case. Okay, here are the
quarterbacks in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Clarence Parker,
Sid Luckman, Arnie Herbert, John Driscoll, Benny Friedman, Benny Friedman,

(01:53):
Sami Baugh, Sami Baugh, Troy Aikman, George Blanda, Terry Bradshaw,
Len Dawson, John Elway, Brett Farr, Dan Fouts, Auto Graham,
Bob Greasy, Sonny Jergensen, Jim Kelly, Bobby Lane, Bayden Manning,
Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Wayne, Wayne Warren Moon, Joe Namath,

(02:16):
Ken Stabler, Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton, y A. Tittle,
Johnny Unitis, Norm Van Brocklin, Kurt Warner, Bob Waderfield, and
Steve Young. Okay, so again, I think Dan Fouts's was
an incredible quarterback. They were nowhere near a Super Bowl, right,

(02:41):
And whatever we want to say about quarterbacks, wins and losses,
are very much believed to be a quarterback. Stat right,
Warren Moon is a friend. He's a friend of the program.
Warren Moon overcame a lot just to make it in
the NFL. After making it in the CF he became
an elite passer. No one I know would say that

(03:05):
Warren Moon is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time?
Would you? So it doesn't take greatest of all times?
I thought John Elway was a Hall of Famer before
they won Super Bowls late in his career. Matter of fact,
when John Elway won his first Super Bowl, he had
the lowest quarterback rating of any quarterback to ever win

(03:25):
the game. Jim Kelly unbelievable four straight Super Bowls, did
not win one of them. I don't know if that
matters to you. Joe Namath is probably the most average
quarterback of any in the Hall of Fame. Nothing about
his numbers, nothing about his dominance. Was never seen as
the best player in the league. But he had won

(03:45):
Super Bowl that he called the shot and they beat
the Baltimore Colts and the New York Jets won the
Super Bowl, and for that he was made into a legend.
I could go through all of these and some of
them I've researched some of them. I have not Bob Greasy.
I want to say that Bob Greasy wasn't the quarterback

(04:06):
of the undefeated Dolphins because didn't he get hurt. I'm
almost positive he got hurt. I bring it up because
last night there was a debate and I'd actually credit
Amazon for this. Amazon's uh pre halftime post not particularly good,

(04:26):
and not because they don't have some interesting personalities that
may Ryan Fitzpatrick may become a star in this thing.
What's uh what's the guy's name? I really like him.
He went to LSU. He said he was a ram
at first. He was with the with the Browns for
other than the Ram. Andrew Whitworth like there, there's there's

(04:47):
something there with those guys. But generally it's uh, kind
of what Richard Sherman did a little bit, which is
picking personal battles and trying to win them. Now that
I'm on TV and you're not, and it's a lot
of young guys or inexperienced guys in the medium of

(05:07):
television or in this case, streaming television trying to figure out,
all right, how do I do this thing? How do
I master the craft. When you don't have a veteran
person to kind of master the help help you master
the craft. Jason knows that. Tony Gonzalez a really good
friend of mine. We're AU teammates. We've been friends ever since.

(05:29):
Christa Thompson, by the way, we were teammates at ESPN.
She's a good friend. We have this very very funny
text chain because a couple of years ago she texted
another Doug and was was giving him a bunch of
grief over not having an ad for their show and
didn't realize she was texting me, and I was just

(05:52):
I was I'm just a friend, like, hey, whatever you need,
I'll help you out.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
With some dude named Doug.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yes, here's Tony Gonzalez and Chrisa Thompson talking about Russell
Wilson last night.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Do you think we've seen the last of Russell Wilson?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Honest, I hope we have. And I say that because
just looking at him and his career, his legacy, Like
you talked about, if ever there was somebody who played
himself out of a Hall of Fame, it's Russell Wilson.
And I say that because look at what he's what's
happened ever since he left Seattle. When he was in Seattle,
he was the man. He was making these good plays.
He won a super win, the two of them. But

(06:26):
as soon as he left there, he went the Dinvers
on that big old deal. They paid him thirty nine
million dollars to leave. He goes the Pittsburgh Plaser. One
year he's out of there, and now he goes here
and has three games. I just don't know if it's
gonna get any better. And I don't want to see
him on a sideline holding a clipboard.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Okay, So here's here's the thing. And I I'm a
lot of things. Jason thinks I'm offense hit or I
am not. Okay. There are certain things in which I
think are nuanced and it's hard to take a stance on.
And I don't want to sound like an idiot when
I think there's more to it. Okay, there are certain
things in which I will absolutely take one side or

(07:01):
the other. I didn't think k And Kurt Warner is
a friend of mine. Kurt Warner is like all time
greatest dude ever type friend. Anytime I'm in Phoenix, I
text Kurt Warner because he has a gym in his house,
like a basketball gym in his house, and they play
four on four. The key is to get on Kurt's
team because he gets every call. But the point is,
I didn't think Kurt Warner is a Hall of Famer

(07:22):
just from this perspective. How can you be a Hall
of Famer where there's like five years where you couldn't
even start in the NFL, They couldn't play it, and
it was in the middle of your career, right, like
you went from nothing to greatest show on turf, to
fell out a favor, to had the hand injury and
they wanted to play Eli Manning, to back up in Arizona,

(07:44):
to start in Arizona, to Super Bowl again too. Yeah.
Now then all of a sudden he was a couple
of years later he was out right. So if you
say we haven't had a Hall of Famer who's had
years where he was removed as a starter, I give
you Kurt Warner and Kurts frankly were in the middle

(08:05):
of his career, not just the end of his career,
right whereas Russell had I don't know, a decade where
his team was always good, always in the playoffs, went
to two Super Bowls, one to one, and I just
think that one you have a case of Tony and
trying to do the hot taking thing. Well, I hope

(08:26):
he never plays again. I think what he said is
he's hurting his legacy by continuing to play when he
clearly isn't as good as he used to be and
he needs a specific sort of surrounding cast and he
doesn't have that. He doesn't have the complete buy in
of an organization, and for that to protect his legacy,
it's better if he doesn't play anymore. I think that's

(08:47):
what Tony meant. But then there's this other part to
Russell Wilson, which is very very unique. Here's his former teammate,
he was the starting quarterback when they won one and
lost one Super Bowl. Here's Richard Sherman on the same broadcast.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
I think you got to judge his career off when
the legion of the boom was there, he had a
legendary defense and all time defense, and how much success
he had, and then without that legendary defense, the success
he had without that legendary defense, he's been four and eleven,
seven and eight going three to start with the Giants,
like that's he was a winning football player in Seattle,
and people said, hey, winning his football player, all this

(09:24):
good stuff, all these accolades, and now you get to
go on your own and you get to creu of Hey,
I'm this great quarterback, I'm this guy that's gonna be dominant.
And it just hasn't worked out that way.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I thought. I thought Richard Sherman presented himself despite the
fact his information was highly biased and tinged in whatever
he and everyone knows they don't like each other. I
thought he presented it in a way which was super
dignified in matter of fact. But there has never will

(09:56):
never be a quarterback that has won a Super lost
another one whose former teammate defensive star won't say, of
course he's a Hall of Famer, he's the greatest. It's
like the most unique thing ever where all Richard Sherman
and all those defensive guys. You guys are and I

(10:17):
agree you were a great defense for a period of time.
Please stop with where the eighty five Bears. Tell me
when the eighty five Bears dominance took place and you
could sit there and go like we didn't have much offense, Like, dude,
stop Okay, they never lost fewer than three games. They

(10:41):
were down. They were tremendous defensively, but they weren't together
long enough, and they were the most arrogant group you've
ever known. And they don't like their own quarterback. It's crazy,
and it feels like Richard Sherman and the rest of
the Legion of Boom they would they it's like their
personal goal to shoot down anything Russell Wilson because they

(11:03):
feel like it diminishes the view of their success. I think,
I don't think, I'm I know Russell Wilson at the
end of the day will be a Hall of Famer.
He's been to two Super Bowls. He was a really
good quarterback for a long time. While his while some

(11:25):
of the passing numbers aren't obscene, he got a year
of forty touchdowns and he had a year where he
had years where single digit interceptions, where he did not
lose the game. And it's it's called playing complimentary football.
Eli Manning's gonna be in the Hall of Fame. And

(11:45):
if you're gonna put Philip Rivers in the Hall of Fame,
you damn sure better put Russell Wilson in the Hall
of fame, and he can sit there and say, well,
the legion of boom like dude, the legion of Boom
was that was dead several years ago, right, several years ago,
and yet in Seattle they still won ten, eleven, twelve
games up until his last season where he when he

(12:08):
got hurt and they end up six to eight after
he started out like a house of fire. That's the
reality to it. Right on his bad year when he
hurt his thumb in his last year in Seattle, when
they were six and eight, twenty five touchdowns, six interceptions.
Richard Sherman, you are so insecure about how you're viewed
and how your defensive viewed and the fact that you
don't like Russell Wilson and for whatever, and maybe it's

(12:31):
his personality, it seems to irritate a lot of people.
But God's that's just an awful SoundBite. You are an
awful teammate, There's no question about it. Byer, you are
a Seattle Seahawks fan, tried and true go back because
of Dave Craig help me with this debate.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
It's I agree with a lot of what you said
and how we look at Russell Wilson. The bar four
quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame seems to be a
lot lower, even though you were able to list off
all of the names in a somewhat succinct fashion. There's
not like four hundred quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame
in the NFL. But the Kurt Warner point is well made.

(13:14):
The Eli Manning discussion is one, and I think that
Russell Wilson's career stacks up very well against Eli Mannings.
But the phases of Russell Wilson's career, to me, never
screamed Hall of Fame. And how we're breaking this down,
I think is unfair at a way to say that
he's played himself out of it. I don't think that

(13:36):
you could do that, But I do think that he
had an advantage with a defense early on. Then when
it was his show, he put up very good numbers
and in one year was think accounted for all but
one of the Seahawks' touchdowns or two of their touchdowns
that year. Statistically, his numbers are fine, But I never

(13:57):
thought that he was the Hall of Fame quarterback or
that he was destined to be a Hall of Famer,
And so I find it interesting that this conversation is
now popping up because of his bad play. I never
really considered it when he was playing. I thought that
he was trending, like if you would have went to
Denver and won a Super Bowl and played well there. Absolutely,

(14:20):
But I'm just thinking about what he did basically in
Seattle as his career, and it was a great career.
I just don't think it's Hall of Fame worthy.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
It's really interesting. I don't think so either. Okay, I
want to make sure this is really clear. It's like
Jalen Hurts. I don't think he's really a Hall of Famer.
I don't think he's one of the greatest quarterbacks of
all time. But the reason I read that list was
there's some other guys You're like, yeah, I don't know,
I don't know. And the way in which the league

(14:53):
is trending, it's become quarterback or sort of nothing else, right,
And again, I just think we're going to have this
wave of guys that get in, and you know you're
gonna any argument you could make, which is a valid one.
It's like, Okay, well, if you're gonna keep Russell Wilson,
you're gonna keep eliout. And there's no way you keep
Eli out, and if you keep those guys, and if

(15:14):
you're gonna put Dan Fouts in, like why can't you
put Philip Rivers in? And if you're gonna put Philip
Rivers in, how come you can't put a guy who
won playoff games in?

Speaker 7 (15:24):
Pro football?

Speaker 6 (15:24):
Hall of Fame voters have been the toughest if you
compare them with baseball on being able to draw the
line they actually did.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
Last year they had a smaller class.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
For the previous ten years or maybe fifteen years, they
just had max classes.

Speaker 7 (15:38):
Let's put everybody in.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Let's get all of these guys in because there's gonna
be more guys coming down the line. And last year
they're like, hold on, wait a sec, We're only gonna
put four guys in this time. Like that was a
break from the norm. I wonder if that change will
hurt these guys because of how easy it seemed to
get into the Hall of Fame with some of these
like one, it is magnificent because for a three year span,

(16:03):
there was no one better.

Speaker 7 (16:05):
There truly wasn't.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
But you look at that career, you look at that stretch, Yeah,
is that really Hall of Fame worthy? Is that what
we're looking at.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
And it's just the idea of this. This was my argument,
and again I was prepared for it when we did it. Okay.
So Kurt Warner broke into the league at twenty eight
years old, right, his first year, that was when they
went to and won a Super Bowl forty one touchdowns
and at the time forty one touchdowns was it led

(16:33):
the league? Okay. Then the next year he missed some
of the year, but he still ended up eight wins,
three interceptions, right, but he had a ton of interceptions.
The following year was when they were fourteen and two.
He had thirty six touchdowns, but he had twenty two interceptions.
Then he was bad. Now he got hurt, right, but

(16:56):
oh to six barely played in two thousand and three,
only two games. Then he went to the Giants and
he was essentially the placeholder for Eli Manning if people remember.
And with the Giants he started nine games, a Hall
of Famer through nine games at six touchdowns and four interceptions.

(17:21):
Then he goes to Arizona, Okay, and he's supposed to
be the backup, and I think Liner got hurt that
first year, right, And he comes in and there five
and four eleven touchdown excuse me, two and eight, two
and eight with eleven touchdowns, nine interceptions. Then he's the
backup to liner and he barely plays. He actually started

(17:43):
five games when he won in four record. It wasn't
until he was thirty seven and thirty eight at thirty
seven years old. That's when they went to the Super Bowl.
And he had another very good year thirty touchdowns, fourteen interceptions,
forty five hundred yards. His last year was good. They
won ten games. He got knocked out in the play.
I think that was the Saints. Remember how hard they
hit him, And that was when Brenda wore. The point

(18:04):
is that, like if you look at Kurt Warner, you're like, wow,
that's really not a Hall of Fame career, because if
you were a Hall of Famer in Saint Louis, you
would be decent at any other time that they would
throw you into a game, and that wasn't the case.
It's really like five good years and six below average

(18:26):
to some bad years. A lot of it is is injury,
but again, like that's not the only story.

Speaker 7 (18:35):
One more point for Wilson.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
They did not invest in their offensive line during his
prime years because they'd said, well, he's mobile, he can
move around. Truly, that was part of That's why I
took a bunch of sacks as well. But I just
there was never a point where I thought it was, oh, yeah,
this guy's headed to the Hall. Could have been yeah,
could have been like honestly, if things would have worked
out better in Denver, I think that would have solidified

(18:57):
the case. But a never no point do I think
that he is with drawn from the Hall of Fame.

It's all presented by Bett MGM. Okay, Jared, let's get

(20:01):
after it. Let's start with Orgon and Penn State, Right,
I mean, this is a gigantic game. The Nitney Lions,
despite James Franklin as a head coach's lack of success
against top ten teams, are three and a half point
favorites with a fifty three and a half point total.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Yeah, I think the narrative and first of all, the
bed MGM splits are very heavily leaning towards the Ducks here.
They're a very popular dog, trendy dog as they like
to say. And it's probably because at that narrative, right,
the big Game, James Franklin narrative. He can't win the
Big Game. I like the pushback here. In full disclosure,
I'm a Penn State a lom so I do have a

(20:41):
dog in the fight, I guess, so to say. But
my pushback on that narrative, and I try to be
as objective as possible when I'm handicapping my teams, when
I'm anticapping the Jets, I'm also a Jets fan. I'm
very objective Penn State. I do have a little you know,
they talk on my heartstrings a little bit, sure, But
the pushback is he's never had a roster good enough
to really compete in those big games. They've been a
dog to Ohio State, They've been a dog to Michigan

(21:04):
every time they manage up. The other team has better players.
Now you can make the argument that a great, great coach,
good coach, a great coach gets more out of less,
and I don't think he's done that. But now he
has more, and I think his roster is better than Oregons.
Oregon is very talented, but Oregon's also very young, in inexperienced,
and I think that's going to be the angle here

(21:24):
I'm interested in. I think when Oregon's on offense, how
Dante Moore handles that environment's going to be crucial. He
was a freshman at UCLA, traveled to Utah, travel to
Oregon State. Those are tough environments, but it's not going
to be anything like we're going to see Saturday night
in that white out vibe. Now Oregon's offensive line, I
would say the tackle spots are both gettable, and I

(21:46):
think that's kind of where I see Penn State having
an edge in this game. The right tackle Alex Harky
a little soft. I've seen some bull rushes really push
the defensive lineman back into the lap of the quarterback.
Northwestern was doing that a couple of weeks ago, So
that's something I think Deny Dna Sutton can take advantage
of him. If you don't know that name, you might
after Saturday Night. He looks like a first round talent

(22:06):
off the edge. On the other side, the left tackle
Isaiah World doesn't have a strong set, so he can
kind of get beat around the edge with a good
defensive lineman that can bend. Think Abdul Carter last year.
So again, which side you put Sutton on and how
that bull rush or maybe the bend rush takes place.
I think it's going to be a big factor in
the game, and how Dante More handles that pressure, of course,
is going to be key. On the other side for Oregon,

(22:28):
I think their secondary is relatively gettable. They've got three
new starters back there. Free safety Dylan Thieneman, he's a
Purdue transfer, and you've got two corners that are both
playing in their first big game Jeddon Kennedy. He's an
old miss transfer. It's got some experience in the SEC
and in a true freshman Drew Finney junior. We'll see
how he plays again in a very tough environment. Last year,

(22:49):
Penn State ran it for over almost three hundred yards
in this game with Derek Harmon manning the middle. Of course,
Derek Carmon's now first round pick in the NFL with
the Steelers. I don't think Oregon's front is as strong
as they were last year, and Penn State, with no
receivers ran it for almost three hundred, so I actually
think the trenches is the key. I know we're gonna
talk about Drew Howler and James Franklin, and they both

(23:11):
need to kind of give you their best stuff. But
I think Penn State, where games are typically won the
line of scrimmage, they have an edge in this game,
so I'll lay it. Call me a homer. I get
called worse stuff on socials all the time. Call me
a homer. I will lay it with Penn State minus
three and a half on Saturday Night.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
All right, Let's get to a couple of the other
big games. Georgia Bama in Athens. Georgia only a two
and a half point dog cake. So if you do
the normal home field thing, then it's essentially a pick
them with a slight leading towards Alabama. Fifty three and
a half is the total. What do you think?

Speaker 7 (23:41):
Yeah, what's the market telling you here?

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Huh? Like again, Kirby Smart has struggled against Bama one
and six. George's got the home winning streak longest in
the nation. I think it's thirty three games, So you've
got kind of conflicting streaks here. I will turn your
attention to the Bama defense. I think that is the unit.
And Kane Wamick, who is, you know, a very young

(24:04):
up and coming coordinator. It's taken him a couple of
years to kind of figure out this scheme. The one
thing I've seen on tape is they're doing a really
good job mixing up coverages. For example, start of the
game versus Wisconsin, they showed Man. All the pre snap
indicators were man cover one and then all of a sudden, boom,
they're in a cover two zone. And the interception that
Bray Hubbard had it was just, you know, the quarterback

(24:25):
for Wisconsin had no idea he was dropping. He looked
like he was bringing a you know, a blitz and
then he drops back into that hook curl spot and
then he.

Speaker 7 (24:32):
Threw it right to him.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I mean he's literally stood there and the ball went
right into his arm. So when that's happening, and I
know it's Wisconsin, to me, that means that the defensive
coordinator is doing a really good job of confusing the
quarterback at the line of scrimmage. So I think the
coverage scheme favors Bama. Now you look at George is
gonna run the ball. That's what Georgia wants to do.
We've talked about that before. That's the kind of offense
that they run. That's the kind of offense that they want

(24:54):
to run is counter a lot of zone and then
they'll play action off of it. Well, Bama's gonna get
Tim back this week, who is a freaking you know,
manchild in the middle at nose tackles, so we'll see
what he has coming off of an injury. But that
makes Bama a lot less counterable if you can stop
that inside run game. And I think on the edge

(25:14):
you got Russo number four, who they drop into coverage
sometimes in zone, which they need to stop doing that.
Just let this dude get around the edge. He's a freak.
And then Overton twenty two, they're they're really strong edge rusher. Mean,
he'll just run right through your screw. So I think
Bama's got a really solid front that can really shut
down this Georgia running game. Now in the secondary, I
mentioned Hubbard, the free safety. He's like a bad at

(25:36):
hell man. You're gonna watch number eighteen for Bama come
from outside the picture and just stuff the run game
multiple times in this one. And I love their strong
safety key on sab He also high levels of effort
in intensity. So Bama's defense, I know, we love to talk,
we love to talk offense, and I think Gunner Stockton's
a gamer, but I think Bama's got better players on defense,
and I think that's where they win this game. Last

(25:57):
year was a very high scoring game. I think Bama
is able to slow down. I like Ty Simpson what
I've seen from him. He's been solid. I think he
doesn't screw the pooch and doesn't make the big mistake.
And I think Bama leave Sandford Stadium with a win.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Can we get a ruling there on if screw the
pooch is appropriate? We're good. I'm looking around this is
this is like, uh, when was it? Oceh? It was
at Apollo eleven? Was what was the Apollo Apollo eleven?
We're good, We're We're good, Houston, We're good. We're getting
the we're getting the thumbs up. Auburn A and M.

(26:31):
I love this game. I mean Auburn. You know, two
massive calls go against them last week, right, and now
they're going to A and M, which is traditionally a
very difficult place to play. But A and M does
lose big home games. And let's be honest, A and
M is a caller two away from losing a Notre
Dame on the road.

Speaker 7 (26:50):
What do you like?

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Yeah, this is a fun one. So it's a get
off the matt game for Auburn, right, Like you got
bodied last week by Oklahoma, and and I know you're right.
I agree there were some funky calls that went against
Auburn in that game, but when your quarterback gets sacked
ten times, it's really tough to say you deserve to
win the game. It really was a great performance by
the Oklahoma defense and a gutty performance by John Matier

(27:14):
sticking him, you know, you know, sticking out through a
thumb injury or whatever, his hand injury that he apparently
injured early in that game, and he was able to
gut it out. This is a really big revenge game
for those And again, you might not remember, you know,
the audience might not remember, because a lot's happened since then,
but these kids don't forget.

Speaker 8 (27:31):
A and M.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Last year was a win away from going to the
SEC Championship game, and they lost to Auburn in four overtimes.
Wild game back and forth also a really good situational
spot for the Aggies. A and M's off the buy,
so they've had over a week to prepare for this game.
And I guarantee you they were watching the film from
last year when they lost to this Auburn team in
four overtimes. I we talked about this last week. With

(27:54):
Auburn on the road in a tough SEC environment, they
love to run the check with me offense, right, You're
gonna see Jackson Arnold look to the line of scrimmage
all day long, and Hugh Freeze is gonna be dialing
it up with his little you know, you know, waffle
house play card there. I just don't think that works
in the SEC on the road. It's well, it might work,
but it's a lot harder to do than when you're
at home against South Alabama. So keep an eye on that.

(28:15):
If Auburn struggles with their signals at all. I think
Mike Elco is a really good coach. And again this
is the revenge spot. The X factor for Auburn, just
like the X factor last week is Cam Coleman, who
might be the best pure X receiver in college football
outside of Jeremiah Smith. So that's a guy who can
really stretch the field vertically. And we've seen A and
M kind of have some kerfuffles in the back. We

(28:36):
saw it against Notre Dame as well, So I'd be
interested to see if they just spam Cam Coleman all
game long and forget the RPO check with me stuff.
But Jackson Arnold, he's got to be great with his legs.
I think A and M's to play here, honestly, especially
under a touchdown if you can get minus six and
a half. I think the revenge factor and the fact
and the the you know the fact that A and
M's off the by, I think that's what leans me

(28:57):
towards the Aggies.

(29:48):
let's get to our picks of the week, something we
call the Gambler. The premise of the Gambler is a
you got some guys that have had a bad week, right,
maybe last night was rough on you, Maybe Monday night
was rough on you. Maybe you had the Rams the

(30:13):
Rams to cover against the Eagles and that thing went
bad in you. We're gonna get you right. One pick.
Let's get to the Jays two team Barlay.

Speaker 9 (30:22):
Thank you, Doug. I'll take it from here. I do
want to do this. This is not my pick, it
doesn't count as my pick. I want to give some
I'll take advice to the people this weekend, something that
I've done each of the first three weeks and it's
been very profitable. Listen to whatever game Colin Cowhert is
most excited about and bet against that team. I'm three

(30:43):
and zero on the season. And just to save you
the trouble of going to the boys in five today.
He loves the Vikings overseas. This weekend, he loves the Vikings.
You got to rush to the betting window for this, Doug,
Rush to the betting window. I got the two early
games to college football, and I'm taking both dogs. Virginia

(31:06):
hosts Florida State and they're getting seven points in my
Jays two team parlay. I'm gonna pair Virginia with TCU
getting a field goal at Arizona State. A quick memo
to Arizona State, Danny White is not walking through those
doors tonight. It's a TCU to Virginia dog j stew
team parlay. You can thank me on Monday.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Dann byer Doug.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
For some reason, the people think the Indianapolis Colts are
this juggernaut and an offense if juggernaut. Heck, they got
the best running back right now in the NFL, and
Jonathan Taylor and Daniel Jones has been Indiana Jones and
Danny Dimes and everything the Colts could have hoped for.
But that number is pretty large when we're talking about
an over under total. When they come to La to

(31:53):
face the Rams, I get the fast track, but let's
slow down on this. Colts offense total is forty nine
and a half. I like the under because of the
Rams defense stepping up against Indy.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
M Okay, let's get to Iowa, sam Well.

Speaker 10 (32:09):
I was gonna pick the Virginia Florida State game coming
up here in about two hours and change. Can I
still make a pick on that or does it have
to be a different game? What if I go a
different direction?

Speaker 9 (32:19):
Oh no, you do your own pick and sell it.

Speaker 10 (32:21):
Okay, I'm gonna take Florida State to cover about it's
six and a half points, about touchdown. I'm gonna take
Florida State to cover that and then some I think
they get this win Virginia. They have a close lost
NC State. I don't know how good Virginia is. I
don't know how good NC State is, but I think
Florida State is pretty good. So give me, give me
the seminoles to cover that six and a half seven points.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Hmmm, I like that one?

Speaker 7 (32:44):
Like that one a lot gambler on gambler crime. Is
that what we got there?

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Is that? Yeah? I'm gonna sit there. I'm gonna tell
you I think Kenny Dillingham's team wins straight up Arizona State.
It's a three point favorite. It's at home. They're three
and one. Only lost was the Mississippi State. They've challenged
themselves with their schedules so far. Road win at Baylor,

(33:09):
who I think is pretty good. Road loss at Mississippi State, well,
I think is pretty good. The return home for TCU.
I think TCU is better than they've been since they
played for a national championship. Josh Hoover's having an outstanding season,
but they haven't really played anybody, not because they've avoided people.
Caroline on the road. It was a talent mismatch, and

(33:32):
SMU is just okay okay this year. I just something
about Arizona State and Dealingham. I think they win. I
wish it was two and a half because I love
that two and a half number to get three, but
I'll live with the three points. Arizona State is the pick.

Speaker 9 (33:46):
I think this is the first time.

Speaker 7 (33:48):
Dan Byer.

Speaker 9 (33:49):
There must be seventy games on the slate this weekend,
and Doug and Sam chose to completely go against the
Jay's two team parlay.

Speaker 7 (33:59):
Everybody up for Friday Night.

Speaker 9 (34:02):
Out of all the games this weekend, they choose to
pick apart my Jay's two team partway.

Speaker 6 (34:08):
I was gonna go Jets Dolphins, but that was Monday,
and I'm like, we're gonna get together before then.

Speaker 7 (34:12):
Anyway, I thought that was.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
I liked it Monday. There's two Monday that I like
both of them, and I thought it was too late.

Speaker 7 (34:19):
Shall we sing? All right?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
We should? Let's sing?

Speaker 7 (34:22):
All right?

Speaker 11 (34:22):
You got to know when when the fold where no,
when the walk away run?

Speaker 1 (34:33):
You never money table.

Speaker 7 (34:41):
Counting the day.

Speaker 8 (34:45):
That wrong.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Let's get to the press.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
What's going on?

Speaker 6 (34:51):
The press sounds like our HVAC in my studio? All right,
that's an inside joke. Only five of us really got that.
Does anybody get what you? Marry Jones is selling well.
He talk to on five point three the fan in
Dallas today and the topic of the conversation with the
Packers come into town once again.

Speaker 8 (35:08):
Micah parsons Micha is special, and we all know he is,
and he can be disruptive, but we have huge amounts
of experience with the anecdotes that we've seen used on
us for the last four years, and while he does
make great plays, there is also a way to approach

(35:32):
playing against Michael, as we know, because we didn't exactly
win the super Bowl during those years. Bottom line is
when I look at playing him, I think of trying
to have him as an advantage when we were playing
other teams over the last four years, and some plays
it looks beautiful, but in other plays, especially running plays,

(35:58):
you can wish you to have had. A formation.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
Didn't exactly win a super Bowl, and I thought that
was actually great.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
We didn't exactly win a super Bowl with him here.
That's pretty good. His point is we know how to
take him away. Other people took him away. We know
how to take him away. Interesting. I like the Cowboys there.
I think that games can be really close, high scoring
and really close.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
Ryder Cup update eure up on top of the United
States three to two, with three matches remaining in the
afternoon four ball competition. Europe currently leads it all three
of those, on their way to at least a half
point in one of the matches, so the US will
be down going into day two tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (36:42):
Very likely.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Likelihood we pull out of this thing and win.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
It's not great, but doable. Definitely doable, but not the
start that they would have hoped forth. Crowds aren't in
it yet because the US hasn't been been able to
do what they.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
It's in New York. Already, let's go.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
We're waiting, Dodgers, go ahead, Dodger Stars, show Hey o
Tani the most popular jersey and all of baseball for
the third straight year according to fanatics.

Speaker 9 (37:12):
That goes against Doug's thing, like the Dodgers are the
team that changes uniforms the least. Yet showhy is the
largest selling jersey.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Get the Japanese market, and they have those one one
Dodger uniformsers. I can't stand where they They do some
creative stuff, but generally, yes, it does go against me.

Speaker 7 (37:30):
Bag, get out there and pressed.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
That was the press.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Okay, have a great weekend. See if our picks come through.
And then Dan's sitting on a Monday night football pick
that we can't wait until Monday to hear. Have a
great weekend. From The Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio,
