be pretty full weekend, right, I'm sure you had NHL
hockey although none of us watch it, it doesn't mean
it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
It just doesn't matter. There was golf, although I didn't
watch it. There was baseball. I watched a little bit
of it. There's also college baseball. There's NBA basketball playoffs,
and there's the NFL Draft. What we do every Monday
at this time is recap all things from the weekend.
We call it love and hate.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
What did you love?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
God?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I love you, and what did you hate?

Speaker 5 (01:27):
These player hay is.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Love love love hey hey eight love love love hate
hey hey. Let's get to what we loved from the weekend.
It says Dan Byer, I'll let you start, Doug.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
A lot of talk about Shador Sanders this past weekend,
and I'll tell you what for all of negativity and
everything that came out through the process, and I'm not
saying that he wasn't at fault for any of it.
I liked and loved that he was excited when he
did get drafted, that it wasn't this disappointment that there

(02:14):
was him dancing with the Browns hat that he is
going to the NFL, because that ultimately is what it
is all about. And Obviously it was disappointment for him,
and I know people were rooting for him to not
get drafted at all, but I did like to see
that he didn't pout, he didn't just put a hat
on and frowned. That he was at least excited to

(02:37):
be drafted, and I was happy to see that. I
think even went ran and jumped at a pool because
I wondered what the reaction was going to be, if
there was going to be any reaction after the type
of weekend that it was. So I loved seeing Shador
Sanders get excited despite what had happened the previous two
days that he was being drafted by the Browns of
the fifth round.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
I like it a piggyback on that. I like to piggyback.
This is also my love, but for the opposite reason
Dan just mentioned. I know there were people rooting for
him to not get drafted at all.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
That's me.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
I'm in that group. I'm in the group that Ammanual
Acho felt the need to go on his Instagram story
and admonish for celebrating the slide of Shador Sanders.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
That was me. I was doing that.

Speaker 6 (03:20):
And then when RG three went on his Twitter account
and said, I can't believe there are people in this
world that are rooting for this guy to slide. I
raised my hand and was cheering. I loved watching the
draft this week. I don't remember the last time I
watched Saturday of a draft. In fact, I don't even
know if I have ever. I watched it this time,
loved it.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Okay, what about you? There?

Speaker 7 (03:44):
I was him, Bill Belichick sat down with CBS Sunday
Morning News yesterday, and he really is the gift that
keeps on giving. I didn't see the full interview, but
I caught some of the clips that where he was
Bill was asked about him and his girlfriend Jordan. Here's
just a little snippet. It was very awkward and very entertaining.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
How did you guys meet?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Not talking about this?

Speaker 6 (04:09):
No, No, it's a topic neither one of them is
comfortable commenting on.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
What's so funny is that she's sitting right there and
Bill's asked the question, and she's the one who pipes
in all of twenty four years old that she is,
and she's like, no, I'm setting the rules. We're not
talking about this. I was under the understanding that they
met on a plane I think we all were right.
That's what made it so. And now we're all wondering intriguing.
Right now, we're wondering, how did they really meet? Is

(04:36):
it something more scandalous? I mean, like we're not talking
about it.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Isn't that a very normal question to ask?

Speaker 7 (04:43):
Sure, like oh, you're getting married, congratulations? How did you
How did you two meet? Oh we met at at
a pool. We met at actually a party for my
friend and to a mutual friends. So now everyone's wondering
by not answering that, yes, how did you actually meet,
but that there were other things in that interview, and
Bill is just so awkward. He stands there, he just
stares at you, like no emotions whatsoever. He's like, he's

(05:07):
such a good poker face, but it is so awkward.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Blake by the Bob Kraft are you and me mentioned
that as well? Like there was? It was because he
was asked why Robert Craft wasn't mentioned in the book
at all, and in Belichick's response was it was just classic.
Belichick was another another high point of the interview. I

(05:32):
can't see to fight any here, but we tape a
CBS Sunday morning. Let's say constant record, so every Sunday.
So it was good. So last night it was like, oh,
all right, we've got it. So I ended up watching
the whole thing.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
If you're Bill Belichick, why do you write a book?
You've got more money than your grand kids could spend
and you are currently employed. You've never written a book before?
Why why write just a generic book?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Last it was written last year while he's out of
a job.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
What is the what's the win and writing a book
at this point for Bill?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Make money? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (06:10):
More money?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Yeah? Yeah, I'm sure there's also when he's writing the book,
he didn't know if he was going to make any more.
If he's going to get a job, right, that's a possibility,
It's absolute possibility.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Now look at him. He's he's got a job and
a smoking hot young girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
He's living the life running Bill, Bill, Run run away.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
She starts answering questions on your behalf?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
What's next?

Speaker 2 (06:41):
She starts answering questions on your behalf, like, uh.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Here, can I can? I can I play the Bob Craft?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Here the exchange about Bob Craft here it is.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
I have to ask why Robert Craft?

Speaker 7 (06:55):
Because twenty four years together, six Super Bowls, he's not
in this book.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
How comes?

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Well, again, it's about my life lessons in football, and
it's it's really more about the ones that I experienced directly.
He's not even in the acknowledgment section.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Correct, correct, you saw that.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
He directed?

Speaker 7 (07:23):
His voice had just a sliver of like, yeah, you
saw that, didn't you?

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yes? Yes?

Speaker 6 (07:28):
Are we to presumed by that that he didn't bring
up anybody else's name the entire book. He just talked
about himself.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Listen, no, no, no, no, But his thing, I mean again,
his out is it's about football and my stories whatever.
Like Bob Craft just owns the team doesn't really have
to do with football.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Remember, Bob Kraft kept Tom Brady around when Belichick wanted
Jimmy g when they were letting Bill go, And at
the end of this interview which you will see, the
interviewer said that you were fired, and Bill was like
it was a mutual decision. Yeah. And when Belichick announced

(08:05):
or when they announced that he was not going to
be returning, Bob Kraft tried to give him a hug
and Belichick stonewall them. And then Kraft goes, he's got
a cold, so he doesn't want to get too close,
like there are some hard feelings between Bob Kraft and
Bill Belichick.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Do you think? Yeah, hell yeah, there are what I
left for the weekend. I love my Atopton town man,
green green Bay, Wisconsin, Me and I can't do I
can't do it Gruden. But that was a that was
a Gruden sort of reaction. Over six hundred thousand people,

(08:43):
just a good time. And then you know, Saturday is
that kind of like you got to be a grinder
if you're there all three days, ei there Saturday, you
don't know half those guys. But it was packed Saturday
and it was beautiful as well. What a great weekend
for the NFL. But what a great weekend for Green
Bay and the Fox Valley and all the surrounding areas.

(09:03):
Pretty stellar stuff. And you know, went off pretty much
without a hitch. I mean, traffic wasn't bad. The weather
during all three days during the actual draft was fine.
So yeah, kudos to kudos to Green Bay for doing
what many said would struggle to be done, could struggle
to be done, We'll struggle to be Okay, what we

(09:31):
hate from the weekend hates a strong word, but these
are strong comments. Let's start with our resident hater, Jason Stewart.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
Saquon Barkley was seen getting off a plane with President
Trump yesterday, supposedly to play a round of golf before
the Eagles met with the President today. If I'm not mistaken,
Jalen Hurts had a scheduling conflict. The second Saquon was
shown getting off the plane, he started getting ridiculed for

(09:59):
being with the president. So Saquon Barkley took to social
media todayl some people are really upset because I played
golf and food of the White House with the President.
Maybe I just respect the office. Not a hard concept
to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago

(10:20):
and look forward to finishing my round with Trump.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Now you get out of my.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Mentions with all you politics and have an amazing day. Yes,
if you are one of the losers who criticize Saquon
Barkley for respecting the office and going to the White
House to celebrate a major accomplishment, you are again a loser.
And your side of things is always talking about the

(10:47):
diminishing of our institutions. We don't respect our institutions, and
now you're criticizing somebody for respecting the institution of the
White House, of the executive branch. That seems like a
big what would you call it.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Hypocrisy?

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Hypocrisy to me? Thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Can't buyer.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
It's funny because usually like stuff like that, it's its
must be a late afternoon meeting because I haven't seen
the clips littered yet with the team around there. But
I knew it was today. I knew that they were
visiting today because of everything that Jason mentioned. What I
hated was last night. It was a lot to hate
about the Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers, most notably

(11:33):
the Damian Lillard injury and the entire crumbling of a
franchise before our eyes. But I will actually go a
different angle on this. Bucks wise. NBA TNT does a
great job, and they have a segment that we've all
seen throughout games. Maybe we pay attention, maybe we don't.
It's called inside tracks, where you hear a miked up

(11:57):
player talk with his team. And last night there was
a point where Bobby Portis got a technical foul for
taunting Aaron Nesmith of the Indiana Pacers because Portis tried
to get the ball and Nie Smith was on the
ground and held it away from him. They reviewed it
and gave Portis a technical There was a little brewjaja

(12:19):
when they went to the audio of the of the
behind the scenes. None of that aired whatsoever. All it
was was.

Speaker 8 (12:27):
Let's go, let's go, you got a rebound, you gotta
hustle back. Remember we've talked about this before with coaches
being got a rebound, you know, screaming to.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
The fans, let's go there. It is NBA inside try
like I wanted to hear what was going on. Bleep
it all out. Let's give us some of that. That's
the whole point of miking someone up, that maybe, just
maybe you get that inside gold and we had it
and they did not take advantage of it. And then

(12:58):
it just made me south were on the whole idea
of micing someone up if you're not going to provide
that sort of content to your viewers completely. I mean,
I watched like the Bucks were even close, but it
gave me something to watch for a while in hopes
that maybe something would happen. But no, nothing whatsoever, and

(13:19):
that wasn't included, and that was very disappointing.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
Sam My hate of the weekend was the prank phone
call on shduer the uh listen and you you mentioned
this earlier, Doug, I didn't know Cooper Dejene had been
pranked in last year's draft, and that's horrible too. But
you know, no matter how much you don't like Shadoor Sanders,

(13:43):
you may think he's you know, arrogant whatever, unseerious. When
a guy is sort of falling like that, you're kicking
him when you're down. When you do something like that,
and you know the way that this this Jack's olbrick
got the number like off of an open eyepad had
from his dad, who's the defensive coordinator of the Falcons.
It was just gross. It just was it was cruel

(14:05):
and and you know you don't kick a guy when
he's down.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
So I did not like that, no matter what I
think about Shadour Sanders, I just thought that that was
that was just tasteless and the idea itself just went
way too far. And now that you know, because this
is a further this is a reflection on society swatting
and people, you know, pranking, people scamming with certain ways
like arik using certain area codes that aren't theres. I

(14:29):
remember a couple of years ago, I got a call
that was said it was my boss's number, and I
answered it. It was a prank call from somebody I
knew who happened to have my number and my boss's number,
and I was I felt so betrayed by this, and
it took me a long time to trust this person again.
So that kind of stuff grosses me out. And just
from experience, I just I just think that that was
and he apologized and we'll push on with this, we'll

(14:51):
move on with life. But to me that I hated it.
I felt real bad. I felt really bad for Shaduer,
even if he probably himself just kind of was like, whatever,
we have the audio. If you guys want to hear it,
don't do our listeners want to hear it's thirty seconds.
Let's let's give it a quick listen.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Let's Mickey Loomis here, jam them the thanks.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
How you doing good?

Speaker 5 (15:10):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Man?

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Good? I've been waiting on you, Yeah we have. It's
been a long waiting man, no for sure. And I'll
take you with our next get right here man.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Yeah alright, but you're gonna have to wait a little
bit longer.

Speaker 7 (15:24):
Nasty, Okay, that grated yo?

Speaker 2 (15:29):
What does that mean?

Speaker 3 (15:30):
What do you say?

Speaker 4 (15:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
Are you gonna me?

Speaker 6 (15:34):
He was on phone.

Speaker 7 (15:34):
You heard that you said You're gonna have to wait
a little bit longer. So he was confused. It sounded like,
I don't know how personally he took it or if
his feelings were hurt. But I just thought it was gross.
And you know, young men do that stuff. I remember
prank calling people, but it was usually like, uh, you know, hey,
is your refrigerator on or is the refrigerator running? And
then they go, uh, yes, well you go to gotta

(15:55):
go catch it then, and it was like dumb stuff
like that. So now this is a little bit more personal.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
H When I was younger, I was just gonna say.
When I was younger, the Davy four football practice started,
we called like the good players from other teams because
they were in the phone book. We called their home
and we had told of the show up at six
am for an early meeting because they're going to be
leaders on this team. So we'd be like, hey, hey, Thomas, coach,

(16:25):
I need you in the office at six am, and
we don't we know one person bought it, but we
called about four or five because everyone's name was in
the phone book, even neighboring towns you could find their
number of the phone book. And we did do that.
That was I was thirty years ago. So I think
that that time.

Speaker 7 (16:43):
Is passed, right, the old, the old, the old, just
looking up numbers in a phone book and just calling
some guy because his last name is like coming at.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Six am, want to go over some leadership stuff.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
And we all like the jerky boys, right, sure, we
all went through a jerky boys face in the nineties.

Speaker 7 (16:58):
And crank anchors and all that stuff, and yeah, that
was a hoot. But this this one was just too
It was just too personal. It was just like, you
don't screw on people like that one, especially when they're
great free fall.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
I thought it. I thought it was messed up. I
thought I was messed up. You know. Uh.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
And then and then if you're that Jack's oh uh
obra kid, you know you're on video. This is the
thing about today is like people want to do these
kind of pranks or these whatever things for social media
things for TikTok, and they can't do it anonymously because
they have to get credit. So if they had just
done it and said, oh, we did that. We did that,
and then we just keep it to ourselves and talk

(17:33):
about it amongst our friends. We have the cording of it,
but it's like, you got to put it on video
because it's got to go on social media. You're gonna
you're gonna suffer the consequences for that because we have
We're very good about identifying people these days, even if
it's a blurry video.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Okay, uh, I'll tell you something I hate. Last last
Monday or no to maybe two Mondays ago, I was like, hey, guys,
take a snapshot. Angels are in first place. Yeah, Angels
have lost thro in row. They got swept by the Twins.
Matter of fact, I believe they've lost all but two

(18:07):
series so far this year. They've lost tend their last
thirteen games and now twelve and fifteen after being well
over five hundred. Again, it's not surprising, but it's just
it's like every year on repeat, right, decent start, we
got a chance. Let me know, Jay stewhen Mike Trout
gets hurt, because that's the next thing to happen, right usually, Yeah, yeah, unfortunately,

(18:31):
and that's love and hate.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (18:46):
It's the Doug Gottlieb Show. Fox Sports Radio. Let's talk
to NBA with the Man, the Myth, the Legend, Rick
Buker Bukele. Let's start with the I think the news
that will last the longest in terms of the league.
Where you have Damian Lillard out for obviously the rest
of this year and I'm a guess a good portion of,

(19:09):
if not all, of next year with a torn achilles
tenen suffered last night in their loss to the Indiana Pacers.
What does this do to the upcoming off season for
the Bucks.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
I think it expedites the idea that they need to
need to start the rebuilding process, and everything was on
the table as far as that's concerned, which means just
including Jannis Antetokumpo. I think it gives Giannis an out
to say, hey, I need to be someplace elf, And

(19:42):
I think it also gives a Box the opportunity to say,
you know what, he's our biggest asset. We don't know
if we'll ever get a player of his magnitude, but
we're not going to be able to take advantage of
having a player of his magnitude. And there's some teams
out there depending on, you know, how things end up
this year in the postseason. But you have Houston, you

(20:04):
have Orlando, you have Oklahoma City. You have three teams
that do have title contender type of talent, and they
also have a tremendous amount of capital when it comes
to the draft and young players. All three of those
franchises could potentially make a deal for Giannis and still

(20:26):
have a formidable team. I don't know if that's where
he ends up, you know, but but there's the opportunity there,
and now with the injury of Damian Lillard, there's the
reason to go.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Down that road.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
I agree. So do they go complete rebuilds?

Speaker 4 (20:44):
I mean anything else is you're just patching? And can
you still be a playoff team with Giannis? Yeah, you're
still going to make the playoffs. But do you have
any hopes of winning a championship? Does he have any
hopes of winning another championship? That's the question. I would imagine,
at least in his mind that he wants to play
for more rings. You know, where the Milwaukee Bucks are.

(21:08):
You know, the reality in the NBA is eighty percent
of the teams on a year by year basis, are
just looking to be competitive and entertaining. They're not looking
to pull the ripcord in order to be championship contenders.
So I think if the Bucks, if Yanna said, look,
I'm happy to be here and I'm going to give

(21:30):
you time to rebuild and build another championship roster, the
Bucks would be more than happy to go that road
because they know they're going to sell tickets and fill
the building with Yannis. But I don't know that Yannis
is going to be there, and they of that mind,
And I think that Bucks know that. And so if
you're going to make a move, make it sooner rather

(21:53):
than later. Don't let Giannis turn the corner or suffer
an injury that might diminish his value.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Rick Bucker joining us here on the Doug Gottlieb Show
on Fox Sports Radio. I've seen plenty of people point
out Luca's struggles in the fourth quarter, especially defensively. They
may also have missed lebron struggles in the fourth quarter defensively.
Let's say that Timberwolves win this series, in five games.

(22:23):
Are we sure the Lakers absolutely won that trade to
the level that everyone's saying they won that trade.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Well, I've said this from the beginning, We're not going
to know that. We weren't going to know that this season.
We may not know that next season. It really comes
down to can you build a roster that fits Luka Dancic,
which is a roster slightly different than what you've had
with Lebron James. Not completely different, but slightly different and

(22:53):
the big factor. And they tried to address this to
a certain extent, but they've really got to do a
better job of it, which is you need a rim
protector and a rim runner and a lob threat for
Luca to be what Luca was in Dallas. You know,
as much as we look at all that the hit
that he accomplished there, it wasn't They weren't getting to

(23:15):
the finals until they got Daniel Gafford and Derek Lively.
And I looked at the numbers. I was wondering, like,
you know, Luca's getting his numbers. But I think the
last I checked, he had like eighteen assists and fourteen
turnovers in this series, and he had forty plus turnovers
and eighteen forty assists in eighteen turnovers in last year's

(23:39):
series Dallas against Minnesota, and the big, big difference is
he always had Derek Lively or Daniel Gafford on the
floor with him, and those guys were almost to combine.
They were combined plus forty in that series. And to
this point, Jackson Hayes is a minus twenty somewhere seventeen

(24:01):
eighteen something like that. And so they've got to they've
got to build a roster that better suits protecting Luca
from or you know, covering his weaknesses and being able
to fully exploit his strength. So we have to go
back to what we were thinking when they first ted
and I'm sure you said it. I know I did.
When they first made the trade, it was like, you

(24:21):
know what, in the big picture, they've taken a step back,
but they found their star, their superstar of the future
to build around. And you know, we'll see whether Dallas
was smart in deciding that he wasn't worth the next
five year investment. And so it's just we want to
judge it now. The reality is we're not going to

(24:43):
know just how wise or foolish that trade was until
we get a couple of years down the line.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Stuck Gottlieb Show. Here on Fox Sports Radio, Rick Peeker's
our guest coming All Things NBA. Was that a shot
or a pass?

Speaker 5 (24:58):
For me?

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Okay, No, I'm convinced that that was a shot. I'm
convinced shot to take in that circumstance.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Do you think.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I don't know why that was what they went to
or why that was what he went to, but yeah,
I got I. Honestly, it's probably the least talked about
thing coming out of out of that game, which was,
why did you decide that that was the the game
winner that you were going to have Luca Donsi's take

(25:32):
when he has demonstrated that he can get to pretty
much any place on the floor and with his high
release can get that shot off. Why why do you
make it a a fallaway three pointer from in front
of the bench, well beyond the three point line when
you didn't need a three. I don't know, I've got
I've got no answer for you.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
But it was what's the state of that series? Because
I thought with the Clippers won in den Bro's wrap
and now of a sudden, you know, now a sudden
you got it, you got to win, but you know
at least one more in Denver. Obviously, if you're the
Clippers and I'm far less.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Certain, well, this is what it's. This is the reason
for the uncertainty is the Clippers, without question, have the
better roster. They have They can just across the board.
They have everything they need. Defensively, they're better, they have
size on the wings. Nobody's what do you do with

(26:26):
with Kawhi Leonard. But the problem is that you don't
have leadership with the Clippers, so anything anytime things get
a little bit sideways. You watch, you watch Jokic. Jokic
is vocally telling people where to be, what he needs
where to go. He's even getting into the coaching staff,
this is what we need, this is what we need

(26:47):
to do. Who's doing that for the Clippers, particularly on
the floor. Kawhi is not barking out instructions or telling
guys where he needs them to be for him to operate.
He's not telling them where, Hey, if I do this,
I need you to do this. You're not getting that.
Is James doing that maybe with Zubos, but that's the

(27:10):
ultimate problem in figuring out where this series is going
to go because I agree with you, and the reason
I picked the Nuggets was I've seen it time and
time again, the last minute execution by the Clippers, the
ability to give a game away that they appear to
have in hand. They have done that consistently over the years,
and they've done it this season multiple times, and I

(27:33):
just believe that with Jokic and the experience, the collective
experience the Nuggets have, that that element was going to
win out. And it still may in spite of Michael
Porter Junior being a ghost and the bench not giving
them anything close to what you would hope they would

(27:54):
give them. But the Clippers just have that Achilles heel
that in the playoffs can loon lar and bloom large
in the last.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Game, jam Ran, Who's he played for next year?

Speaker 4 (28:08):
You know, if somebody brought up Orlando as a as
an interesting place for him to go, I'm going to
an unless Orlando has come off of Jalen Thugs, I'm
going to push back on that. The short answer is,
I really, I really don't know, because I haven't explored
what the value is of Jamrant around the league at

(28:31):
this point. Who wants I mean? And I guess it
means like, there's plenty of teams that Sacramento or there's
plenty of plenty of small market teams or teams that
are you know, mediocre teams that would love to have
a Jamarant. But I don't know that we care about that.
It's like, is there a meaningful team out there that

(28:54):
would be interested in him? You know, you immediately think
of maybe a Houston, But if Houston's not interested in
Kevin Durant, then I don't know that they would be
interested in jaw.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
If they're looking at we're going to let our young
guys grow. So I wish I had an answer for you,
but it's the first question is what is the value
of Ja Morant in the league today? It's not what
it once was. I can tell you that and where
it is. Uh, you've just given me a reason to

(29:30):
to get back on my phone and start texting people
about something other than why did Why did Yeah? Why
did JJ play this guy?

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Did you know? What what was that about?

Speaker 4 (29:48):
I think that was an emotional, impulsive decision. We've we've
seen JJ get more emotional and reaction area as a coach.
You know, somebody try convinced me it was analytics. Look
to your point, if you watched Lebron in the previous
game and played nearly the entire fourth quarter, he had

(30:12):
eleven points in the first six minutes. He took one
shot in the last six minutes, and it was a
three that went off the side of the backboard, and
he was invisible beyond that, Why you would think you
could play him all twelve minutes and that was going
to be the recipe for success. And and you know
this as a coach, like kind of alienated your bench.

(30:35):
This is this is your most important game, and you
looked at all of the guys on your bench. Is
that I can't trust a single one of you in
this game. Right now, I'm going to go with the five.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
No, that's that's what he did, and I understand it.
And then yet, I mean, there's a reason that there's
a reason that people don't do it in the NBA,
and that's the reason they had nothing less the price.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
There's a price to be paid on the other side.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah, it's a it's a hard one, but I think
you just take one and you cycle through. If you're
only gonna play six, you take one guy and then
you get everybody out. You get everybody, and you also
use those TV timeouts and you foul to extend it
as well. It was it was really really surprising. But look,
I'm an inexperienced coach. He's an inexperienced coach. It it

(31:20):
felt like a mistake, not because of the result, but
because of the process. But again, we'll see. Maybe he
knows something we don't, cause there have been those of
us like myself, like why I take a guy out?
I mean, the proof is in the statistical pudding. Hey, Buke,
obviously a ton of talk about appreciate your time. Thanks

Speaker 5 (32:46):
The season is over for Bucks guard Damian Lillard MRI
confirmed ruptured left achilles tendon suffered in last night's Game
four loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Devastating news for Damian Lillard for this year Bucks teams,
and it does feel like the Bucks probably need to
hit reset in the offseason.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Jimmy Butler's listed as questionable tonight because of his hip contusion.
ESPN says he's expected to play in Game four this
evening against the Rockets in San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Big news. Big news is they got a chance to
take a commanding three games to one. League.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
Speaking of commanding, the Washington Commanders finalize their deal with
the District of Columbia to build a new stadium on
the side of their old home RFK Stadium. The new facility,
which features a glass roof, could open as soon as
twenty thirty.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
That's that actually sounds really cool, right, the glass roof thing. Now,
the glass roof open or is it just always closed?

Speaker 5 (33:39):
It would be always closed with the then gives them
the option of hosting final fours as well. There would
be an open there would be a view of the Capitol.
I don't know if it's fully enclosed, but there would
be a way that you could see the Capitol, you know,
through an opening of the of the stadium. But the U,
the roof, and the facility will be entirely inclosed.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Host well, that means they can probably host a Final
four maybe.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Yeah, that's what I just said. Yeah, yeah, yeah, super
Bowl as well could be in play in that scenario.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yeah, super Bowl in the nation's capitol pretty epic.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Speaking of the nation's capital, the Philadelphia Eagles are in
DC at the White House today being honored by President
Trump for their Super Bowl fifty nine win over the
Kansas City Chiefs. It was a late start, Jason Stewart.
It was four o'clock Eastern time start for this. That's
why we hadn't seen much during the day. But now
that it has gone on, we got a little taste

(34:34):
of this. The first person that Donald Trump of the
Philadelphia Eagles brought to the podium, no doubt, this was
a no brainer.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Recognized the Eagles head of security. And now this is
a guy they say he loves Trump. This is a
guy and I had sakuon give him a big beautiful
hat last night because I've been hearing about this guy.
He likes Trump.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
His name is Dominic gy Sandro, Big Dumb, and he's
sort of a legend.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
Come here, come here, say a few words.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
I hear this guy. Come.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
I just like to say, thank you. We're honored to
be here, Thank you, President Trump. And that's it. No birds,
thank you, thank you Jack makee all right? Well there
you go. Why does he do call it talk about himself?
A third personnel? Is that is that a.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
I think it's a state of mind. Right, he loves Trump.
It's not him, it's just a state of mind that
he's talking about. The Eagles celebrating today, big Dom ahead
of head of Saquan, ahead of Hobbie Roseman, head of
Nick Sirianni, head of Jeffrey Lorie, the team owner, Big
Dom gets called up. I thought Big Dom handled it
very well as well. Very respect your place and be

(35:58):
respectful absolutely. Cleveland dot Com reports that the Browns are
not likely to pick up the fifth year option on
the contract of quarterback Kenny Pickett, who was acquired in
a trade with the Eagles earlier this offseason.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Hmmm, the wait, they're not likely to pick up the yes? Correct,
Oh yeah, you don't want to pick up the fifty up.
That doesn't mean he's gonna get cut though, No, right,
I mean that's what said. Yeah, that's you know, I
get you. That's really it's super super interesting what happens
there because because look, he started, and they have this

(36:36):
quarterback log jam there. I mean, you draft two quarterbacks
Dylan Gabriel who everyone said lacked the arm strength, and
then should or send your super people said lack the
arm strength. Both are are accurate. I think both are
our mobile out of the pocket or in the pocket.
I think Dylan Gabriel more mobile out of the pocket.
But can you keep two rookies? That's the third? Probably

(36:57):
not so my one of my my only Twitter take
on the draft was so the Browns either wasted their
third or their fifth round pick one of the two.
Can't keep both?

Speaker 5 (37:07):
Finally, dug some sad news to pass along. Stan Love,
former Laker, the dad of Kevin Love of the Miami Heat,
passed away. Stan Love was seventy six years old.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Kevin Love has been a tremendous player, very likely to
be a Hall of Famer, and of course grew up
in Las Lake as weigo Dada pro and he wrote
a really nice note about him on social media. I've
been sick for a while, but yeah, nonetheless said.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
Not with the team obviously tonight, asn't played since March.
But yeah, some sad news. In the NBA Cavaliers and
Head seven thirty Eastern, we mentioned the Warriors home to
the Rockets. That is a ten o'clock Eastern time start tonight.
Both game four. Stug that's the press bag.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Get out there and pressed that was the press anyway,
we'll make some picks in tonight's games. Yeah, I think
the Warriors win that one. I don't feel like it's
in much question of the only four point favorite. And
then can Cleve close up Miami. The feeling is, yes,
eight and a half feels like a lot, but this
is a white flag game from Miami and they just
don't have it. Give me the Warriors, give me the Calves.
