Let's give this.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Boom, What of America?
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I am Monci Belanos, not Doug Gottlieb here alongside all
former All Pro safety carry Roads. We have to get
you at chain. That says that I remember we talked
about that, just so people don't forget.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
It's funny when I'm on everybody else's show, when I'm
hosting those shows, it mentions NFL All Pro on my
own so it just says carry Road.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
So I don't know what's going on own show, which
is on s Sundays with Dan Byers, which, by the way,
we do have a later on if you stick around,
because Carrie and I are going to be here for
the next three hours, we have a who knows buyer Best?
And I'm coming up.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
I'm licking my chops. I think I got it.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
You think you got me, I think it got you.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
There it is, that's all I need.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
To see you stick around. We also may have a
little Thanksgiving trivia along with talking all things NFL basketball. Literally, guys,
stick around and guess what. We're not talking about the Jets.
We're not talking about the Cowboys, So don't you worry
about that. We are broadcasting live from the tirec dot
com studios. Tyrec dot com will help you get there
in unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
(01:28):
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tyrek dot com the
way tire bind should be. Matt Iberflus has showed us
how not to be a coach. Tyre rec shows you
how to get tires. Matt eber Flu says, shown us
how not to coach a game. In the final thirty
seconds with a timeout, down by three, around midfield.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
With all the momentum, with all the moment In.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Case you missed it, I'm sure you didn't. The Bears
decided to finally fire Matt Eberflus following last night's brutal
loss to the Lions, where they really should have at
least gone to overtime. Unreal, yeh finish unreal. You and
I talked about it. How did you not call a
time out? Everyone knew you should call a time out.
You didn't even have to know what was going on.
(02:10):
Just turn it in, call time out. You look, you
look lost, your team looks lost, and there's thirty seconds
to go. You have a chance. Call it time out.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
When my eleven year old godson is like, I think
it's a probably call it time out. I think you
know that it's coaching mal practice.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
One hundred percent, something that seems so obvious, and yet
it happened before all of our eyes, and some people
were extremely surprised in the situation, not just us. Our
producer Shay is here. Tim Patrick was on the show
yesterday with the Doug Gottlieb with not the Doug Gottlieb
Show was on Dan Patrick with Doug Gottlieb and Dan Bayer.
Is that it?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Yeah, I got it?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, Tis Jan Aaron Taurres, So we got it. Let's
listen to exactly what Tim Patrick had to say yesterday
to the fellas, Can.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
You explain to me what was going through your mind
as this seconds were ticking away watching the Chicago Bears
on offense in those final waning seconds of today's game.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys too. Honestly, I don't know
what happened. I'm not ever gonna lie to you. I
know a third and long obviously they didn't want to spike,
they had a timeout, they didn't call a timeout. Uh,
all kind of shock. And then when we put it
up and they said the time is out, Oh it's
not we want is that you guys?
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Do you guys have like do you have a procedure
just like does does Ben Johnson call the time out?
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Does Dan Campbell call the time out? Or Jared Goff?
Speaker 5 (03:32):
Like, do you guys have a plan in place if
there ever is chaos like that for an offense at
the end of the game.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
Yeah, we definitely have a plan and for all that stuff.
That's why I was kind of I would just approaly
go to happen. I'm not gonna lie. They had a
time out, right, Yeah they did, yep. Yeah, yeah, that's
for ourselves. So we'll leave it at that.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
We will leave it at that.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I love that he didn't taill their game planned. Yeah,
I saw that. Yeah, it was well versed. He like, yeah,
we'll just leave it.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
At that not his first day, not his firste but
he even didn't know what was going on. No, they're
on the field, yes, Like that's how confusing it really
was for everybody watching, everyone participating and participating yes in
the game. Really just disappointing. Way a terrible loss after
a couple of terrible losses by the Bears, six losses
(04:21):
in a row, which I mentioned, none of them good losses.
You could say that the blocked field goal was bad luck,
but man, that's a lot of bad luck in Chicago
right now.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Yeah, it's a lot of bad luck. You lose on
the hill, Mary, you lose on a block kick, like
all those things are leaning out. You forgot about that,
and the coach and mail practice on that one as well,
like the ten yards that they let Jayden and Daniels
get on that completion to get to midfield to tempt
the hill. Mary, it's just bad football. So it's been
a history of bad football and a series of unfortunate
(04:52):
events for Maddi Buflus.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
It's definitely a mess in Chicago that they are trying
to fix. Speaking of messes, the NFC West is a mess,
but I like it's a beautiful mess.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Like chaos.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
I do like chaos, especially when it's not my team.
There you go like, if you are a fan of
the NFC West, any of those teams, I get it,
you are not enjoying this, or maybe you are. Maybe
you're the Seahawks, and all of a sudden you're like, hey,
because the Seahawks. I was riding the Seahawks. Remember they
won three in a row, but then they lost a
ton of players, especially on the defensive side of the ball,
(05:28):
and then lost like four out of their next five.
But here they are at the top of the NFC
West with the Cardinals, who at moments look so good,
and then in other moments you're like, huh, that's that's
a head scratcher.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Well, I know what the moments are. The moments are
when I when I actually bring my jersey here that
I play with, when I put that on display, they lose.
So it's my fault. I'm not going to bring the
jersey anymore. Yo. Jonathan Gannon is a former teammate of
mine in college, so I always root for him, and
so I have to just like let them be because
I have no expectations for them coming to the season.
(06:04):
I know Dan talked about Dan was high on them
and the way that they play, and so I've kind
of seen that and started to take a liking to it.
But like you said, they come out and play. The
way they played last week against Seattle was just mind
boggling unreal.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
That was not the same team I had seen played
the last three weeks. Because they won three in a row, right,
and it's very difficult to win in the NFL. We
know that winning for in a row, but they did not.
They looked like a shell of themselves from what we
had seen. I didn't know this jersey thing, because you know,
I'm going to the Cardinals Seahawks game.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
That's why I give you my jersey.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Maybe I shouldn't wear it.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
When is it?
Speaker 2 (06:37):
No, I can't wear it. It's next next weekend. I'm
going with my one of my best friends who was
a Seahawks fan, and we were having some drinks and
we're like, let's go, and we booked something, thinking at
the time that the game was not gonna matter, that
it was just gonna be for funsies. We're gonna cut Arizona.
Watch your Seahawks, girl. Because I'm not a Seahawks fan
(06:57):
wear a Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Man.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
He was like, yeah, girl, let's go. Oh and now
it's like, oh, this game's gonna matter. It could be
for all the marbles if I wear your jersey and
they you know, like if they lose, she's gonna be happy.
So she's probably like where the jersey? Wear his jersey,
you know what I mean? But I felt like I
had to wear a Seahawks for her. If I'm going
(07:19):
with her.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Let's let's wait, just wait, let's wait. Let's let's wait
until we let's let's wait, let's wait a couple of
days and feel taking about it.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Let's think about it. Let's think about it all right.
Seahawks Cardinals right there at the top, I'm I think
the Seahawks McDonald's what's his name, I'm Banka, the head.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Coach of the Seahawks McDonald, McDonald, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
He has done such a good job of instilling this
defensive mind with the Seahawks. Right, and you have Geno
Smith who high risk hy reward, Yes, right, Like I
I think he can make the big play. He can,
and then at the same time, I don't know if
he can make them give you one. He's yeah, like
(07:59):
it's it's such. I think he's exciting to watch yea.
And I love that he has been able to revitalize
his career year with Seattle. But it's like high risk,
high reward, and that's the Seahawks to me downfall right, and.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
I'll tell you what they're going to need to have
to do for them to win. You just eloquently stated
McDonald is a defensive guy. They've had ups and downs
on the defensive side of the ball, right, They've lost
some people, some people retired. Are some crazy things happening unexpectedly, Yes,
And so if they can transform and Geno can transform
and trust that that defense is going to show up
(08:32):
the way they're supposed to, I don't think we'll see
the interceptions because the first year with Pete Carroll, he
understood that the defense is pretty good. He didn't have
to make all the plays. He played really well. If
you can get to back to the point of not
thinking that this team is going to win based off
his performance alone, they'll have a chance. But my biggest
surprise right now in the NFC West is with the Rams.
(08:55):
I've picked the Rams to win that division, and obviously
they saw it out slow because they had a lot
of injuries. But once they got all the guys back,
I thought the offense would started clicking and you know,
they would put up points like they have been. They
haven't been good either the last couple of weeks, and
so it's like, what's going on in this division?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
It is you thought the Rams were going to come
out and win that division after losing Aaron Donald and
the injuries that started at the start of the season.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
You still felt that at the beginning of the season.
I know how well coached they are, so again, this
is me also thinking having the mindset of Arizona not
being that good and Seattle taking the step back. So
I thought, in theory, it's the Rams and forty nine ers.
Forty nine ers thought off slow all the time, so
I was like, hey, damn, the Rams would be in
the mix. And that was my whole It wasn't about
(09:40):
the losses or wins of who they had. It was
more about who wasn't going to be showing up at
the beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Unreal, Yeah, forty nine ers though, like, okay the forty
nine ers man, Yes, injuries have been a big part
of their season. Starting off without Christian McCaffrey. I mean,
the biggest bamboozle I think for NFL fans was Christian McCaffrey. Yes,
(10:07):
we were all bamboozled, all of us. If you had
number one pick in your fantasy, I'm very sorry you
probably picked Christian McCaffrey. I would have too, I don't
blame you. And then you were told that he was injured,
and not just a little injury, a pretty bad one
that kept him out, put him on ir Now you
have brock Purty dealing with some shoulder arm injury. Are
(10:30):
the forty nine ers done? Is there super Bowl window
closing before our eyes?
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Super Bowl window is done?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
It's done.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
That's closed, doesn't mean them whinning. This division is done.
And so that's the thing, right, Like, they can still
get in the playoffs and have some success this year,
but as far as the Super Bowl goals, they're not
beating Detroit, they're not beating Philly. And then now you
have Green Bay that's starting to finally get it together
and join Love is starting to not turn the ball over.
So I don't see them getting past any one of
(11:00):
those three teams.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
It's hard, it's but it's also hard to just kind
of eliminate the forty nine ers altogether. I'm with you,
like to say that it's like a bold statement because
they are coached well and for the most part, it's
the same team we've been seeing for the last couple
of years. Yes, injuries are a big deal, but luckily
for them, they're still in this mix. They're still in
the race. And you always hear, oh, they got hot
(11:22):
at the right time. Yes, they got hot at the
right time, And the forty nine ers have always been
very pro defense, right, which is what you need in
order to get far.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
I don't with all that being said, well, I've being.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Said, it's just they do seem a little broken to me,
and it's hard, and I mean broken, not just because
of the injuries, but a little bit deflated, a little defeated.
How do you not feel like that with the start
of this season, like you do have to keep pushing through,
but you can only push through for so long.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Yeah, it's an I'm looking at the forty nine ers
schedule right now. They've got six more games. Ballistically they
can go four and two in these games. I would
pick them to go forward to in these last six possibly,
I think nine and eight Steel wins that division. I
don't think the winner of that division's going to get
over nine wins. So it's just it's crazy. And I
think it's pretty much right in front of them. They
(12:17):
have the Rams, they have the cars, so they still
have two division games left and then you have the
you know, it's it's still in reason for them. It's
just it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I don't know, it is it is. I also feel
I wonder if we're not giving enough credit to the
Cardinals actually, because there are moments where Kyler Murray you
are like, Okay, Kyler, where did that come from?
Speaker 7 (12:40):
Right?
Speaker 2 (12:40):
And last year he was injured, so we didn't get
like a full scope of like what he's capable of.
He's also very young, and so him with James Connor,
like they do seem like a team that can put
something together. But do I think they can put something
together that will go deep into the playoffs. I don't
(13:01):
think so.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
I don't know. They don't have enough. They don't have enough.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
They don't have enough, period, they don't.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
But they're gonna play hard every game, and so that
that does give you, you know, around around six points.
You know, and theory like really breaking it down that way, like,
if you play hard, you're gonna score six points. And
if the other team's not playing hard and they make
a mistake, they're gonna win the game. They're not gonna
beat themselves for the most part, except for last week
(13:31):
when Kyler Murray decided to go, you know, just throw
the ball up and throw a hook shot and the
guy kick it off and take it for a touchdown.
But yeah, other than that, Yeah, I'm excited to see
what you know, Gannon can do if he can get
some actual weapons out there.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I am excited just to see how this NFC West
turns out.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Let your pick right now, right now, who got winning it?
Right now?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Again, I can't roll out the forty even though I
think they're broken.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
I'm gonna take Francisco. Yeah, because only one team is
gonna make it out this division. So Francisco I'm going
to take.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Let me look at the Seahawks schedule one second. Yeah,
the Seahawks, it's not going to be easy for them.
They're they got the Rams, the Vikings, the Packers, the Cardinals,
the Jets, which we weren't We're not talking about the
Jets with the Jets, like again, you don't know what
your Jets you're gonna get. No, are you gonna get
a Jets team that's playing defense or one that's not.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Oh no, you're gonna get a Jets team planned nothing
at that point? What game? What game is that? Fifteen sixteen?
Speaker 2 (14:28):
This is next week?
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Oh that's next week? Yeah, this next Okay, they'll be
playing hard.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
So you know they don't have the easiest, I think, schedule,
so it's hard to rule out the forty nine ers.
Who are you taking to win in the Sea West?
Speaker 4 (14:40):
I'm going to take I'm going to take the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Now, I think you're going to take the Seahawks at
this point.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Okay, I just think McDonald's a really great coach and
he's going to have the defense and they are playing
better now they are. If the defense plays that way,
I see Seattle being able to narrowly escape and win
that division. And I don't know why I just said that,
It just came to me, but I'm going to stick
with it.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
All right, all right, Well, it's a mess and we
can't wait to see how it ends. But U, on
the other side, I think we need to talk a little.
Max Crosby here. I don't know if we are actually
giving credit to this man and what he does for
a team that not much to talk about or get
excited about the Raiders, but Max, Max crap, there we go.
(15:26):
Did the listeners hear that? Or was just that you
in my ear? In my ear? So that was our
technical producer, a Ryan Smith's telling me to watch my mouth.
As I said, the Raiders aren't really something positive, very hard,
it's very hard to talk about it. But Max Crosby
is a definite star when it comes to the Raiders,
and we're going to talk about that. On the other side.
This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Okay, Carrie, you should record a Christmas song.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Fe oh.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Fuck huh up?
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Be together?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Okay, get it.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
This Christmas fire aside is Blazing Bride.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Carrie Road, come it, stop it. In case you didn't know,
Carrie Rhoads is not just a former All Pro safety.
He is now a musical artist with a couple of
songs out there that I thoroughly enjoy. The one that
not I had I had help, I had some help.
I love that one. That's my favorite so far out
(16:39):
of the ones you've released, Like I put that on
my phone, Like I like that one so much, and
it's like, I'm very I don't know about you guys. Oh, also,
welcome to Fox Sports Radio. Sorry, you were listening to
the Doug Gottlieb Show and we are coming to you
live from the tireg dot com studios. But Doug Gottlieb
is not here. I am Monty Bolanos alongside former All
Pro safety Carrie Roads. When I listened to a song
within the first fifteen seconds, I can tell how much
(17:01):
I'm gonna like, Like, Immy, I I literally you send
me that, and with intense I was like, ad, add,
this is right up my alley. Add, no problem. You
thoroughly enjoyed it. All of your songs have been fun
and easy to listen to, which is part of it.
You know, like you don't want to tune out right away,
and that's how you know.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Where can people listen to it?
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Carry?
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Oh, I mean they're on all the streaming networks. I
mean wherever you get your music, wherever you consume your music,
it's on that platform. Just look up Kerry Roads. Just
look up Carry Road Easy.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Thank you, Thank you to our producer Shay. That's why
come in clutch. And he's about to come and clutch
one more time. We have one NFL game going on
right now, Chiefs and Raiders. Chiefs are up. If you're
wondering why, you probably can't watch this. It's on Amazon Prime,
so get on there if you want. But the Chiefs
are up ten three, I believe still it is the
second quarter over here in this game. But there is
(17:50):
a player that I don't think it's a lot of
credit for what he does on the Raiders, Max Crosby.
I mean, let's chat. In fact, Shay, can you give
us a some of the numbers you were talking about.
Speaker 8 (18:01):
So in this game, he has three total tackles, two
of them are solo, he has a half sack, and
then he's as a QB hit so he's eating. He
eats in almost every game. And when I say almost
every game, I literally mean every game. This guy played
ninety five percent of snaps in twenty twenty three, ninety
five point five percent of snaps in twenty twenty two,
and the only reason that number is lower this season
is because he had an injury.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yea.
Speaker 8 (18:22):
So this guy is playing an unheard of Like let's
say you play forty out of fifty plays, that's only
eighty percent of snaps, and that's still a lot of snaps.
And that's guys like Miles Garrett TJ. Watt who are
always in the front running for Defensive Player of the Year,
and for some reason, Max Crosby is always number three four.
And don't get me wrong, I'm a Browns fan. I
love Miles Garrett, but when I saw this stat the
(18:43):
other day, it's something that as a coach, manager, player, teammate,
you want someone like Max Crosby on your team. And
it's not really something that's taken an account when you're
doing Defensive Player of the Year, but he's one of
a kind and seeing them right, like seeing him play
in this game. Also the Raiders for some reason play
so well against the Chiefs, and like it's always a thing,
(19:03):
but Max Crosby, man, it's it could be people falling
his way. I just I think he's a player that
you want on your team one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
And that's such a big point here that it's like yeah, okay,
let me if you're trying to convince somebody to join
your team. Yeah, you want to have a good quarterback
and you want to have right good receivers in that,
but you also do want a guy like Max Crosby
sitting near you in that locker room who literally gives
it his all every single game. Yeah, the Raiders could
be losing by twenty seven. That guy is still going
(19:32):
to try and kill you on the field regardless. And
I can't even imagine playing that many snaps with the
position he plays.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Yes, that part with the position that he plays. So
you know, a skilled guy like myself, I played in
a lot of snaps, right, it'd be ninety eight percent
snaps right, no, no, no, no, no no, that's a
scale position, right, Like it's it's more, I guess, a
requirement to be on the field. But with the D line,
they like to rotate, so a lot of times you'll
(20:02):
see guys not get all the snaps or get the
opportunities to make the plays that they make just because
of fatigue. Like you're two big human beings battling for
three and a half hours, like hand to hand combat.
Like it's crazy to think about so the fact that
Max does that and does that at such a high
level is it's remarkable.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
I don't I'm not a fighter. I wrestled when I
was very little, trying to brothers, my brothers, you know,
and they were very They never they let me just
hit them essentially. And like, but if I was like
trying to wrestle, ninety seconds, I'm tapping out. And that
was my workout for the day. Like, I'm over this.
And I was telling you I could run for hours,
Like if there was a zombie apocalypse, I would survive
(20:42):
because I could just run for hours. I would leave
you all behind. Now if I had to wrestle a zombie.
Oh I'm done, just leave me. Just leave me there.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
You know I'm not leaving you.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
No, I'm giving you permission. I'm giving you permission because
I will be done if I have to for one
minute it wrestle anybody, So I can't.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
You're not being left behind, left behind?
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Okay, fine, but let me get get my energy back
and then we'll start running again. Because but yeah, Max
Crosby is definitely the type of player that I don't
think it's a lot of credit and it's probably because
he's playing for the Raiders. That part, that part which
you can't deny, that's probably what it is. Uh but
you know, Antonio Pierce subtle, what what would you create
his job so far as the Raiders, Antonio Peers, Antonio Pierce,
(21:27):
What did I say, Antonio Benderas I tend to do.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
That, it would be that would be cool. I mean,
I'll just go back, There'll just think of the little cat.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Oh yes, uh, thank you.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yes, that's that's my guy anyway, but that's my guy.
But uh no, I would get Antonio Peers a D
a D. And I like Antonio Peers. You know, we're
around each other a lot in New York when you
play with the Giants, and so I know him. I
know he's a great leader of men. He's a leader,
he's good at that. He will get guys fighting. As
you see, they're still playing hard. But I just don't
think he's a head cat, which I think is probably
a defensive coordinator type of guy. And I don't think
(22:02):
he's done a good job.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
The reason I asked you about this is because I
feel like the coach of the Year in the NFL
right now. To me, it's like there are so many
arguments for so many different coaches. If you wanted to
say to me Dan Campbell should get Coach of the Year,
I'd be like, I get it. If you were to
tell me Jim Harbaugh deserves Coach of the Year, I'd
be like, absolutely, yes, Sean Payton, I get that, Kevin O'Connell, Yeah,
(22:29):
why not Mike Tomlin. That's the one I was going
to end on. He's never won, right, I don't think
he's one coach of the Year, which is crazy to think,
but him taking Justin Fields out of the starting spot,
putting in Russell Wilson crazy when they were winning. Please
(22:49):
never one, never one. Thank you Shae for confirming that
the race for that. To me is like again, I
don't know how you pick one. You can make so
many different arguments, and I would be like, yeah, obviously
Jim Harbo because I'm a Chargers fan and I can't
believe that. But what Sean Payton is doing with bo
Nix in Denver also very impressive. It is And how
who would you give the edge to?
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Oh, it has to go to Dan Campbell.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
But is it just because they're in first place?
Speaker 4 (23:14):
No, just the the steps that he's taken to get
to get this team to where.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
He is context.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
That's yes, yes, that's developed development, right. That's somebody that's
you know, really good at his job, and his players
are buying into what he's doing. I mean that whole
team is literally his identity. And when you see that,
that clearly that guy is the guy.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
I get it. And before we go to Martin here,
so I asked, you know, the boyfriend, who do you
think is is coach of the year. He said, Dan Campbell,
and so his name was on my thoughts. I went
to sleep and I had a dream that I was
getting kidnapped. Guess who saved me?
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Dan Campbell.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Dan camp saved me in my dream.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Bien me caps and toes and I in a car
and he.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Came up to the car and I gave him like
a look, and then he saved me. And I woke
up and I was like, Dan Campbell just saved me
in a dream. Best dream I've ever had.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Did you wake up mad at the boyfriend because he
wasn't the one saving you? Or were you just okay
with it?
Speaker 7 (24:05):
No?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I was perfectly fine with it, but it was I was.
I woke up sweating That's how intense my dream was.
And I just was like, man, Tan Campbell saved me.
What a great what a great dream. And then I
went back to sleeve happy. I was like, maybe he
is coach of the Year and I just needed the
dream to confirm it. We got Mariin confirming things going
on around the wonderful world of sports. Martin, what's going on.
Speaker 9 (24:29):
At the half between the Chiefs and the Raiders right now?
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Kansas City with a ten to three lead.
Speaker 9 (24:35):
The touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to eighty four Jordan Watson,
the receiver for the Chiefs. That's about all the scoring
that we've seen so far. The Chiefs have won the
last ten games that they have played. Then, when they
have led at the half and nearing the end of
the first quarter in the Egg Bowl, all missed with
a ten to seven lead over Mississippi State. The old
(24:56):
miss of fourteen nineteen in the nation has three losses.
This was essentially eliminate them from everything they've been trying
to do this season. Mississippi State only two win to
nine on the year. Another NFL news, Chicago Bears fired
Matt ebra Flues. He leaves with a fourteen to thirty
two record as the head coach. He comes the first
head coach ever to be fired midseason by the Bears.
Thomas Brown started the season as the passing game coordinator,
(25:19):
then got promoted to interim offensive coordinated when Shane Waldron
was fired. Will now he will be the interim head
coach after Matt Ebraflues got fired. So three promotions in
six weeks is for Thomas Brown. Colt head coach Shane
Zyken rule out Josh Downs and Ashton dul In, both
wide receivers for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Jaguars head
(25:39):
coach Doug Peterson says Trevor Lawrence will play Sunday against
the Texans. He's missed almost a month with an aced
joint injury in his shoulder. Dalton Kincaid billse tight ends
he will not play against the forty nine ers. In
college football, Colorado beat Oklahoma State fifty two to nothing.
Shador Sanders had five touchdown passes, three of them to
Travis Hunter. Hunter the first player in the last twenty
(26:01):
five seasons of college football to have three touchdowns from
scrimmage in the game, and an interception. Boise State beat
Oregon State thirty four to eighteen National JT two twenty
six on the ground thirty seven carries and a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Back to you guys, marn thank you don't go far because,
in case you forgot, it's Thanksgiving trivia.
Speaker 9 (26:20):
See this is I told Mancy, okay, I will be
ready for Thanksgiving trivia and she said, well, what is
that like? Essentially, what does that mean? What does okay
mean besides okay, I'll be ready.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Well, because he's like okay, and I was like, well,
you don't have to if you don't want to. So
I gave you an affirmative response. I was like, that's
not affirmative Martin. And so now we're fighting old married couple.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Oh that's what we're doing. Now, Okay, you don't have
to if you don't want to. If I didn't want to,
I would have said I don't want to. There's words
that mean that.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Was it passive aggressive? I don't believe in passive. I
don't believe in aggressive aggressive aggressive aggressive aggressive?
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Uh? Yeah. A quick question. Do you guys know what
they call shador sanders like the school, like the student fan.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Base, shit, daddy should daddy?
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Should daddy that's what they call him, like.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Some kins of shaboozy. Is that like a thing?
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Should Daddy? I have a friend whose daughter goes to Colorado,
and so when I was chatting with her, she's like, yeah,
we call him shait daddy.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
In that voice I saw, daddy.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I was like, I love that. Thank you for telling
me that. That's the greatest thing. Okay.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
In honor of Thanksgiving, I've put together a little trivia
for all of you fellas to see who knows more
random trivia? Can we get a little like bad music? Here?
Ryan beautiful? All right? So there are multiple choice for
the most part, and your name is your buzzer. I
(27:47):
will just see how many we can get through here,
all right? Who did the Lions face in the NFL's
first official Thanksgiving Game? The Cardinals, the Bears, the Cowboys,
or the Packers? Martin Martin the Packers, No, Carrie, Carrie
the Bears. The Bears is correct? Carry with the first point.
(28:08):
It was in nineteen thirty four.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
I gotta be quick. I got it. You guys are fast.
I got it.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
I was.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
I'm not playing bro like, I'm not going to be
fun here. I'm trying to win.
Speaker 7 (28:18):
Yeah, he's got his hot low and I feel like
Mike Tyson when he was walking out into the ring,
not in the ring.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
I love that. I love that. Okay, when was the
first ever? Well, actually no, I won't. I won't have
you guessed the year. But who won the first ever
turkey leg the MVP Award? Who won it? First? Eagles
cowboy Randall Cunningham, Cowboys running back Emmett Smith, Eagles linebacker
Reggie White, Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman.
Speaker 7 (28:46):
Ryan, Ryan Cunningham, Nope, Nope, Carrie, Carrie.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
It's with the Eagles, though, but we're going to go
with I got what's the name again?
Speaker 10 (28:55):
Oh, Martin, I need the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
I had you said, you got your name, and then
asked the host of the game, what's the name again?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
He did, Yes, I did, Yes, it was Reggie White
nineteen eighty nine, leading the Philadelphia defense to a twenty
seven zero shutout.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Got to be faster.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
You're there boys, all right? I got to take not
a multiple choice question. What team in the NFL has
yet to play a game on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 9 (29:40):
Martin Martin, Oh, that's like when they in Jeopardy don't
answer the in form of the question.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Team yet to play on Thanksgiving, there was only one,
the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
That is correct, That is correct. All right, he's over there,
all right. Who has the most Thanksgiving Day wins? Packers, Bears, Lions, Cowboys,
Martin Martin.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
Cowboys, No, get out of here, carry Carrie, Packers, Norton.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Mart take it. You need it more than me. Go ahead.
Check that's okay. Shephardy, And I was saying, what were
the who was the last time? See here we go again?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
No, so it's not the Cowboys, and it's not the Packers,
jeezy the photo friend Bears are Lions Bears?
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Man?
Speaker 2 (30:33):
No, guys, it's the line right, the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
The Bears have less wins than the Lions in thanks.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
On Thanksgiving, and ye, that's weird. Yeah, so the Lions
have thirty eight with yesterday's Cowboys actually have thirty three,
Bears have twenty.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
About it. The Lion has been playing on Thanksgiving me
since nineteen thirty four. It's twenty twenty four, right now. Razy.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
They also have the most losses to which makes sense
the most? Yes, yes, okay. The first ever Thanksgiving football
game occurred in eighteen seventy six between what to colleges
Cornell and Harvard, Princeton and Yale, Harvard and Princeton, Yale
and Cornell.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
Jerry Kerry, Princeton and Yale.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
That is correct. That is correct.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
You know that.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
I know fall I actually knew that too.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
What did you know that you did? But you weren't
quick enough? Okay. Most passing yards in a Thanksgiving game
in one game, Matthew Stafford in twenty twelve, Kirk Cousins
in twenty sixteen with Washington, Troy Aikman in nineteen ninety
eight with the Cowboys, Philip Rivers, and twenty seventeen.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Charterers car Troy Aikman.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
That is correct. That is correct.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
He played. It's not fair.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
He played. It is not fair.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
All those guys doesn't matter. It's a lot of guys
that played, though we wouldn't know that. He's probably playing defense,
all right.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Most rushing yards on a thing Thanksgiving game.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Ready, Martin, mart Barry Sanders, No, get out of here.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
But he's on the list. But he's not. Okay, So
Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell, O J. Simpson, Walter Payton.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Ooh, I'm not even sure on that one, say Shay
Walter Payton, No, Ryan Ryan the juice, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Loose two seventy three, nineteen seventy six, Barry's hit, Barry
Sanders one sixty seven, Walter Payne one seventy nine. All right,
most receiving yards on Thanksgiving. Lan's all Worth for the
Chargers in nineteen sixty four, Anthony Carter for the Vikings
in nineteen eighty seven, Andre Johnson for the Texans in
twenty twenty one, or Amari Cooper with the Cowboys in
(32:44):
twenty eighteen.
Speaker 11 (32:46):
Ooh, I don't let's let's go. Nobody knows Shay Shane
Andre Johnson on fast wide Receiverry Moss.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
These are in one Thanksgiving game.
Speaker 9 (33:01):
No, he had like three touchdowns of one hundred ninety
three yards in the first half.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
That thanks a Thanksgiving game?
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Was that a Thanksgiving game?
Speaker 4 (33:08):
It was Dallas.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Look it up because I don't think so. I think
you're wrong, but it's Andre Johnson won eighty eight, and
then Amari Cooper won eighty. Lanceallworth won eighty five.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
He had one hundred and sixty seven yards. Thank you
for a touchdown game?
Speaker 5 (33:20):
All right?
Speaker 2 (33:21):
So non NFL games and if we'll go to break
and finish this if we have to real quick, what
Thanksgiving vegetable was grown in space? A potato, a tomato,
an onion, or a carrot?
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Why, Martian, they made potatoes.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Correct.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
I was going to say, you gave me.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
The out potatoes. That is correct. How many people attend
the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City two million,
three million, three point five million, four million, Carrie carry
two million? Nope, three and a half, three and a
half Martin.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
That's a good guest.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
That's a guest, all right. Last one here, how much
did the world's largest pumpkin pie weigh twenty eight hundred
pounds thirty five hundred pounds, three thousand, six hundred and
ninety nine pounds or four thousand pounds.
Speaker 7 (34:11):
Carry twenty eight hundred No, Martin, thirty five? No, Ryan,
you got this one, Ryan, Ryan, one of the other
two four thousand, not four.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Thousand, Ryan. I got three thousand, six hundred.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
And ninety nine pounds, So random.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Twenty feet in diameter out of Ohio in twenty ten,
one hundred and ninety seven cans of pumpkin, over two
hundred dozen eggs, one hundred gallons of evaporated milk, five
hundred and twenty five pounds of sugar, three pounds of
pumpkin spice pie or pumpin pumpkin pie spice, and seven
pounds of salt, twelve point four pounds of cinnamix.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
In that diabetes bed wasted research. I was just about
to say that, My God, that was fun.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
Carry Rhads won that one. In case you missed it,
don't go anywhere. We still have more here at Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Shooter. That was no celebration either.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Hello, everybody, welcome to Fox Sports Radio. You are listening
to the Doug Gottlieb Show, but he is not here.
I'm here Monty Bolanos alongside former All Pro safety Carrie Roads.
Thank you for hanging out with us on this Black Friday.
I hope you're doing a lot of shopping and that
your credit card is getting a lot of action, because
that's what I wish I was doing. Not gonna lie,
but I will do it. Don't worry, Carrie, I can
(35:39):
shop online, so do not worry about it.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
That's the crazy part about Black Fridays before you get
in Yeah no, yeah, with all the online stuff, is
it still a thing.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
I don't think it is. Like before I did, you know,
did a little teaserly Maybe you stick around, I'll tell
you about my Black Friday story. When I was like
in high school, me and one of my girlfriends did
make line outside of a best Buy at like eleven
a clock at night, and we like made friends and
we started playing Monopoly with like the people waiting in line.
What did we get? She wanted a piano, that's it,
(36:08):
that's it, that's it. We just wanted to experience it.
And then going to like Target at midnight, they don't
even think open anymore. They're like, just do it online.
Everything is. It's very different, which I think it's better.
But I did miss doing that with like, you know,
in high school, like staying up all night shopping family,
my friends. Those are my friends acting a fool I
(36:32):
am at Target? You know what I'm saying, That's what
I was doing. I would act a fool in the cold.
I don't know how somebody, like let's say the Miami Dolphins,
who literally don't understand what anything below sixty degrees is
heading over to Wisconsin, Wisconsin and dealing.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
With the cold.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Now, I would assume cold just probably the worst. Or
is it wind or is it rain?
Speaker 4 (37:04):
It's a combination of cold and wet. Okay, So like
if it's cold and snowy, it's actually not not that bad, okay,
because the footing is still kind of there, and you know,
it's it's whatever. It's fine, like snowflake's coming down, it's
visually stunning, so you're kind of just having fun in that. Yeah,
if it's wet and cold, that's the that's the deadliest combination.
(37:24):
It's bad.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Oh no, I can't even imagine if it's If it's wet, Also,
it is the ball harder when it's cold, like a rock.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
Yes, okay, I'll tell you a story of myself playing
talking about it.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yes, because you went from New York to Arizona, like,
please tell me all about it.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
Yes, in New York and man, I'm old. Two thousand
and six, we went to lambeau Field, Lambo, so the
same situation. It was negative four wind, chies, snowy, and
it's fine because I know I'm tough guy. I got
no sleeves on them. I'm doing all that, But I
caught an intercept quick flex on bread bar nice and
(38:05):
you could actually hear it during the broadcast. When I
caught it, it sounded like I call a brick and
it felt that way. So the ball is completely hard.
It's frozen for sure.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
And then I can't imagine being hit in the cold,
like everything hurts more like I hit my finger on
the door when it's cold, and I'm like, oh my god,
my finger's broken.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
That part, And you want to talk about a non flex.
I didn't want to tackle anybody in that game, So
there you go. Just go like just real quick.
Speaker 8 (38:36):
Would you have rather played in the Brown Steelers game
this past week the snow game or the Dolphins game.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
I didn't get to see all the Dolphins in that game,
but it was very cool weatherwise.
Speaker 8 (38:46):
Would you have rather basically played in like five degree
negative five degree weather or a ton of snow and
it was like ten degree weather, a ton.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Of snow, ten degree weather for sure?
Speaker 2 (38:54):
Okay, yeah, yeah, I feel like if I would be
playing in the snow, I would have a very hard
time not doing snow angels. Did you ever do that?
Speaker 4 (39:01):
I did not do that. I did not want to
get wet.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
I did not.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Okay, that makes perfect sense.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
Maybe after the game, maybe in celebrations.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
In celebration, no, I man give it up for all
of the NFL players that play when it's that cold,
because I would take a rest day.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
I gotta say one. We're thinking focused on no Mas.
You look. The one thing that really irks me, though,
is when people on social media or they get on
these platforms and say, oh, that's perfect football weather. No,
it's not perfect football weather. It's seventy degrees. Of course,
know when the conditions are beautiful, that's perfect football weather.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Yeah. I think people just won't get excited when they
see real weather, yeah, which we don't have here in
southern California. I'm like, what do you mean it's below five?
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 6 (39:47):
Way?
Speaker 2 (39:47):
Is that when it's high thirties here? I'm like, I'm
not going outside. I'm not going outside. It is thirty
seven degrees outside and we barely get that. But that's
like the worst I've experienced here in Southern California. I'm
glad I don't have to experience anything else besides that.
You are tuning in to Fox Sports Radio Monty belongos

much more for you coming up again. No Jets, no Cowboys,
but a lot of other fun stuffs. Don't go anywhere.
