Speaker 2 (00:20):
Give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Welcome in everybody, hour two the Doug Gottlieb Show. Doug
is out today Aaron Torres VJ Husky taking you until
seven pm Eastern. We will also be filling in four
Covino and Rich here at two pm Pacific, five Eastern,

(00:46):
so we're taking you until seven pm Eastern. We got
three hours left. As Mazi just told you, we do
have a final in Pittsburgh. The Kansas City Chiefs have
beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers final score twenty nine to ten,
meaning that the Kansas City Chiefs have clinch the number
one seed in the AFC A first round by Pittsburgh
now falls a half a game back in the AFC North.

(01:09):
They have one more loss than the Baltimore Ravens. As
the Ravens get set to play this evening. They will
of course face the Houston Texans here with kickoff coming soon,
and we will obviously keep you updated on that one.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
VJ. Do want to stay on the.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
NFL do something a little bit different here, and you know,
it's the holiday season.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
It's better to give than receive.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
And I'll say this, I'm gonna kind of steal a
segment that I heard Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre do
on Tuesday afternoon where Colin and j mack gave out
Christmas gifts to NFL teams. And so what I want
to do now, Chris Purfett, give us a little music,
put us in a little bit of a mood. I
want to give out some gifts to some NFL teams.

(01:57):
And I'll go ahead and start. I want to give
the gift of self awareness to the Dallas Cowboys and
specifically Jerry Jones. I know you'll probably disagree with me
on this. Mike McCarthy is not the answer. I don't
believe he will.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Ever be the answer.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I don't care about all the regular season wins. I
don't care about that they melt down in the playoffs.
They're never going to win at the highest level. Jerry's
in his eighties. You're paying Dak Prescott a bajillion dollars
over the next four years. You have to bring in
a real head coach.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Go get Mike. And by the way, here's the thing
to remember. Mike McCarthy. His contracts expired.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
So if it's not as though you can just bring
him back, you're gonna have to give him a long
term deal.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
And he's not the answer.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
So my Christmas gift to Cowboy Nation, I am begging
some self awareness to Jerry Jones.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
I don't know if it will.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I don't know if Santa will get it to him
in time. I'm a little worried that Santa may have
missed the Jones mansion today and I don't think it
will get there for the Christmas holiday. But that is
my gift to the Dallas Cowboys, my gift to U.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I can go either way, one way or another with
these two teams. I'll go at my home Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Who you got? What do you give? My gift to.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
The Miami Dolphins is a brand new, shiny, smart, tough, minded,
competent general manager.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
H I think it's time.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
For Greer to go some of the moves he's swung
in hit some of he's swung and miss.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
But I just think that in.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
The sport of football, energy means everything. Camaraderie means everything.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
We've seen it.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
With the Patriots now, where everybody gets away from New
England and they got a personality all of a sudden.
Bill Belichick's funny, Gronk's wild, drinking tequila with his shirt off.
Brady is doing their everything under the sun that normal,
good looking, tall celebrity quarterbacks have done in the history
of America. An energy that would make the team tougher.

(04:11):
The Dolphins aren't tough because they don't have a tough leader.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
They don't have tough energy.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Bro It's Miami palm trees, demeaning guns, Puerto Rico Guans.
There's the Coobans down there, there's all the celebrities, there's
South Beats, there's for a lot of the it's it's it's.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
I feel like it's Mike McDaniel trying to play a
part too.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
I'm giving Micah pass because we wouldn't be where we
are right now if it wasn't for him, Because we
could go with the guys we had before. All right,
then but the general manager has been with this franchise,
I believe, like almost twenty years. It's just it's time
to and you politely do it. It's not a you're fire.
It's like, look, it's been a good run.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
You say to it.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Look it's been a good run. But we need to
get a different mindset in here because the offensive line
has looked like putrid trash for the last decade. Let's
go back to Tanning Hill as our quarterback. And that
comes from the GM. That comes from a toughness to know.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
You need maulers out there.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Bro not just go sign toront Armstead because he's the
hot free agent that year and he's missed half the
time he's been there. Right, So for the Miami Dolphins,
VJ Vernho's getting big.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Vanilla Fundy, the big vanilla Poppy is gifting you this beautiful,
new shiny general manager.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
By the way, before we get to Chris prefet Uh,
people can call in what does your team need? One
eight seven seven, Yeah, bring bring in some of our listeners.
It's Christmas Day. Better to give than received. Maybe give
some airtime to some listeners. One eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox one eight seven seven nine nine six
six three six nine uh one eight seven seven ninety

(05:46):
nine On Fox Chris Purfett, what are you giving your
favorite uh, your favorite NFL?

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Not Toledo. Wait, what's about Toledo? I said it, not Taledo.

Speaker 6 (05:57):
I'm Toledo Rockets. Go ahead or whatever. We don't need it,
don't need anything. They're playing, they're playing tomorrow. I think
for the Detroit Bowl, what's the what is it now?
I don't even know what it's called.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
It's not the I don't think they have a sponsor.
I think it's just no. It's like I think it's
like Game Above or something.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
It's it's every sponsor for Bowl games now are like
investment firms.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
It's very weird.

Speaker 7 (06:19):
Yeah yeah, or like what was it the other one
for the other night sixty adventures. Anyway, I think it's
too easy to ask for the Detroit Lions to give
them a healthy defense.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Let's go a little bit, a little bit higher.

Speaker 7 (06:29):
I think if you ask a lot of Lions fans,
there's a lot of nervousness after this year that it's
like this might be their best chance and everything. I
want to give them hope for the future because look,
they're they're probably going to lose Ben Johnson at some point,
maybe Aaron Glenn as well, But like, I want to
give them hope. That's like you're going to keep being
in the fight each of these years for the playoffs,

(06:49):
that this isn't just a illusion that will disappear and
you'll go back to being the old Lions. That Dan
Campbell's done a culture change, that he's you know, made
something that's going to be built to last, that it's
not just going to be dependent upon a couple of
coordinators or the health of your defense. It's a lot
to take in and if I've got an extra gift here.

(07:10):
It's not my favorite team, but I think in the
spirit of what Aaron was talking about, I would like
to give the Las Vegas Raiders a break from the past,
because I'm kind of tired of hearing them talk about
the Raider Way and then it leading them to keeping
Antonio Pierce around and then crashing into this season with
no damn quarterback whatsoever. I want the Raiders to be good,

(07:33):
and I think part of that is you have to
stop paying attention to your past, elevating your past so
much because you've got a lot of failure in your
past as much as you do a couple of really
good bright spots. I want you to start focusing on
building something for the future in Las Vegas. I want
you to focus on building something that's not about how
we did it in the past, or the Raider way
or what Al Davis would have done. Build a damn

(07:55):
football team, because I think the NFL is better when
the Raiders are better.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
MATSI, do you have anything, Yeah, I'm gifting my favorite team.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah, or your least favorite if you want to if
you want to go.

Speaker 9 (08:07):
I'm gonna I'm gonna gift my my favorite Chargers.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
I'm gonna give the Chargers a sigh of relief because,
just like VJ was talking, the Chargers for a while
have not had a culture. They were not disciplined, and
all we needed was somebody that can lead and has
come in and in a very short amount of time

(08:33):
without any real offensive weapons. Lad McConkey is great. I
can't wait to see him. But we don't have, you know,
offensive weapons necessarily, and we are still succeeding because we're disciplined,
because we're doing the little things right. And for the
longest time, the Chargers were not doing the little things.

Speaker 9 (08:53):
Right, so a sigh of relief.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I was gonna Chargers, this is gonna be like the
meanest thing I could possibly say on Christmas.

Speaker 9 (09:00):
Perfect. No, you've said a few, but you're playing.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
About to say you're on the road right here now,
no back up. Now.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Brandon Staley has to have like the most beta energy
of any coach that has ever coached in the NFL. Like,
within four games, I was like, this guy's a phony
and it's exactly what you said is.

Speaker 8 (09:14):
And yeah, no, exactly, Like it's like I don't want
to I don't want to talk crap on that guy,
but it's like they obviously were not disciplined because of you,
Like the penalties that the Chargers would get called.

Speaker 9 (09:27):
I was like, oh my goodness, how is this happening?
Am I playing stuff? Am I playing things?

Speaker 4 (09:31):
I don't know what that is?

Speaker 5 (09:33):
To your point with the Chargers though, and just real talk,
seeing it up close and personal covering them all season long.
What's so cool about the culture change is hardballs acts time.
I've asked him time and time again, and then it's
got to the point last home game, I said, coach,
last home game, man, I'm not gonna see it.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Are you gonna take any credit for this? Ah, there's huh.
It's the players and it's the players.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
It's the players, it's it's it's it's the coach that
you feel it in the state. I was talking to
the elevator guy one day taking me up to the
press box. There's a different energy when the Chargers play
as opposed to win the Rams play, and they playing
the same stadium this year, you could feel it.

Speaker 9 (10:11):
It's incredible because it just happened very quickly, and it.

Speaker 8 (10:13):
Happened before our eyes one of this year.

Speaker 9 (10:16):
It wasn't like that.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
Right now, we're week sixteen in and you go to
a Charger game and you feel it like you feel it.

Speaker 9 (10:22):
It's different.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
And I love Harbor, I really do what he's done,
and like it's I'm also just happy for Justin Herbert,
like he has to feel also a sigh of relief
and so just gifting that and yeah, that's it.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
He's been really cerebral this year. He said to his locker,
waits for the pr person to go take it. He's
been superhero and spoke to me all year. Until last week,
he had said a word to me and I walk
right behy his locker all the time. But once again,
that's Horball. Yeah, that's Harball. That's got him in this
locked in cerebral RoboCop type guy. And then the other
Khalil Derwin. They all talk about it like it's not fake,

(10:59):
it's real thing and energy, man, And that's what the
that's what we don't have that that's why you guys
are going to the playoffs and we're.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Not exactly that's exactly why.

Speaker 9 (11:08):
And when you when you were saying you made it,
I agreed with you. There's a bit of a who
is your leader?

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Right right? I mean make the money, But who's the
who's the.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
Top the leader leader, who's the It can't be, kay
Is he's sixty.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
It can't be. That's my guy, but he can't be
a little bit.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
He can, but he can't be the main guy. He's No,
you don't have that young horse, that young. That's but
that comes from the top is where it starts.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Really quickly. First of all, we have a couple of calls.
We'll get to some callers in this second. Thank you Monci,
thank you, perfect, thank you VJ, thank you.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
To myself, of course, ian Ian's a Jets fan.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
He's got the longest Christmas.

Speaker 10 (11:48):
I'll be quick with mind. We have some callers to
get to. But yeah, I mean the Jets their biggest issue.
They need a new owner. So for Christmas, I am
giving the Jets dirt on Woody Johnson criminating photos, just
something to give them a good reason to actually get
him out of there, to sell.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
The team because they need a new owner. You want
to give them the Donald Sterling tree? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, where's v Stiviano these days? She's still just hanging around.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
No clue, no clue, don't care.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Sammy Gravano, go find him. Stano. That was uh Donald.

Speaker 9 (12:24):
H Yeah, who cares?

Speaker 4 (12:27):
I know, man, I mean I'm glad.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
I'm glad of what happened, you know, because nobody like
Donald st But I.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Mean sometimes I guess, I guess sometimes is good.

Speaker 11 (12:36):
Right?

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Have you ever investigated Dan Snyder? To get him out?

Speaker 7 (12:39):
We got to send him over to Woody Johnson's well
Richardson in Carolina. We've got options here.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
I wanted Dan to go kicking and screaming, though I
want it, Dan to go kicking.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Oh you're gonna do this to me? I wanted him
to go. I guess what I saw Jerry doing. I
guess I needed it. He didn't give it to me.
I needed it. You didn't give it to me.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
We do.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Got a couple of uh is, Alex from Bismarck.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Still on the phone, Alex in Bismarck, I assume that's
North Dakota. You're joining DJ Husky Ara Torres here on
the Doug Gottlieb Show. First of all, who is your
team in North Dakota, Alex? And then what would you
like to give them this holiday season?

Speaker 11 (13:19):
It is the greatest franchise in professional sports history of
the Minnesota Viking.

Speaker 12 (13:23):
Okay, So I would like to give to the Minnesota
Vikings the ability, the fort thoughts, and the insight to
actually sign d Sam Darnold he's still.

Speaker 11 (13:37):
Contract, and to develop JJ McCarthy as a quarterback like
I've seen the Green Bay Packers do. Of my fandom existence, So, Alex,
I am a forty.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I was gonna say, Alex, the example that I gave
the guys today when I pitched this segment was giving
gifts to a team. So I said, for example, like
hypothetically give a crystal ball to the Minnesota Vikings to
see if we should extend Sam Donald or go with J.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
J McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
So you essentially stole the idea. Well maybe I got
the idea from you. I don't know. But this was
the exact kind of no, no, no, I love it.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
This is the exact.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
So are you on the bandwagon of Sam Donald absolutely
has to come back?

Speaker 11 (14:25):
Uh? Yeah, absolutely? Are you kidding me? Have you been
seeing the Vikings player this year?

Speaker 4 (14:29):
It's like.

Speaker 11 (14:31):
Car by Alex Okay, my goodness. This was a revelation.
And first off, I was leading the charge on the
get Kirk Cousins out of Minnesota pandwagon because I the
guy is just he's not a winner. He choked some
big games and we saw what he did against who
the hell was it to play on Monday night?

Speaker 4 (14:52):
They're just awful Raiders.

Speaker 11 (14:53):
The other day the Raiders, I mean I first off,
I enjoyed the heck out of that game because he
really was and so it did all national television. But
like this this year with Sam Donald, like a guy
that can throw into tight coverage, throw the perfect deep ball,
like he's got the stones to actually, you know, get

(15:16):
JJ and Holly. What's his other name receiving number three
free three Alex.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
I love you. We got to get to some other
callers want to wish you a merry Christmas. Christmas good stuff.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
That was great and I think it's I think it's
really interesting, the Brett farve analogy. I mean it's not
perfect because Sam Donald's still very much in the prime
of his career. But hey, JJ McCarthy, you know, you
move him for some draft picks whatever. I believe God,
I mean, you're gonna so so then that that you're
gonna pay Sam Donald.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
I'm not paying.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Let's say he's a free agent, right, yeah, I let
him walk. Well, you don't take a guy, you know,
draft ja he listen, he had knee surgery. He's gonna
be the start of this year at some point.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Anyway.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
He just ruined. Uh, you just ruined Alex's Christmas. Sorry, yeah,
all right, Well, you know, is Robin Virginia Beach still available? Hey,
you're on with Doug. This is the Doug Gottlieb Show.
Aeron Torres VJ Husky in for Doug. Rob, who's your
team and what are you gifting him?

Speaker 4 (16:10):
This year?

Speaker 11 (16:11):
Green Ben Green brings ran the Green Bean Pei the
green Bean Pei.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
And and what are you gifted them?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Robodi?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Good Rob.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
We appreciate the call. Thank you, Rob.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
We got other people to get to if you want
to give out gifts here, you know Santa's. Santa's got
a lot of houses to hit this year. We got
to be a little bit quicker than Rob.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
There.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Sharai in d C Shari, I hope you I'm saying
your name right. You're on the Doug Gottlieb Show, Aaron
Torres and VJ. Husky in for Doug Sharai.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Is that? Am I saying it right? And what is
the gift for your team?

Speaker 13 (16:52):
You are saying it correct?

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Shout to thank you, Shout out to you, Sharai, Thank you.

Speaker 13 (16:57):
Hey, Rob Parkers, my name of last night broke.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Wo yeah wow.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
But who's right?

Speaker 11 (17:09):
Okay, so huge Raiders fan.

Speaker 13 (17:10):
So I'm gonna go ahead and give them a dolorem right,
and we're gonna go back in time, and I'm gonna say, look,
ol Davis, I know you want the strongest, fastest players,
But this guy, Tom Brady, I'm telling you, I'm telling
you get him in the fifth round. He's gonna change
the franchise. He's probably not gonna listen. So I'm gonna say, Okay,
one thing that you cannot do is ignore the tuck rule.

(17:34):
There's a thing called the tuck rule. Right, read up
on it. Make sure you know exactly what tuck rule is.
And last thing, do not fire John Gruden. He will
make you pay for it later. And then I would
just hope that my team wins the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah, you gotta make sure it's Tell them, hey, there's
gonna be this game in the snow. Just get this
Brady guy. Everything's gonna work out. Okay, I gotta get
really quick for the Raiders. If I could just add
on to that for I was talking about, by the way,
freeing you from the past.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Also to I know he's listened to shout out DC
Man Woodrids Virginia is seven or three DMV in the house.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
What up man?

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Happy Merry Christmas. I'm gonna give them Shador Sanders. Oh
that's a good one. Yeah, I'm gonna give the Raiders.
I wrote that when doubt I had three teams written down.
I'm gifting the Raiders. I'm gifting them Shador Sanders.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Get him. How you gotta get them? Do what you
gotta do, and I don't.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
I'm not the whole Higher's dad, but just the fact
that you have him, it will really change your franchise
because I think Coach pron will still be part of something,
like he'll be around some way, somehow, you know, if
he decides to still stay in Colorado or whatever the
case may be. But I'm gifting them Shador Sanders. Could
you imagine Shador Sanders throwing the brock Bowers who Aaron

(18:36):
made fun of me when I said brock Bowers should
have been the number one overall. You all laughed at me.
You all laughed at me. Do the redraft right now,
you all laughed at me.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Do the redraft.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Keep Fields in Pittsburgh, I mean, keep Fields in Chicago
and give him brock Bowers redraft.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Guys, I remember the day you walked in. You're like, yeah,
VD things you know.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
I'm telling you, man, Shador throwing the brock Brome.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
On one man some other weapons. You add Dick Young,
run back Bowers over Jayde and Daniels if you were
redoing the draft.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Yep, wow, yep, absolutely absolutely absolutely. Jayden Daniels is nothing
I haven't seen before. Guys, He's RG three. Now, I
don't know if you'll get hurt like RG three. But
RG three had a rookie year like this too, did
he not? They went ten and six. They beat Minnesota
in the last game of the year on a long
scramble up the left sideline for a touchdown and to win.
And I know the injury happened, but I've seen Jayden

(19:25):
dails before. He's not a quarterback that he does. He
does nothing that I haven't seen.

Speaker 10 (19:30):
He's not off these crazy takes at the end of
the segment. I know I don't have time to push back.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
No, that's that's methodically done.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I also like, by the way, shout out to Sharry.
Sorry we did we did drop Shary, but we appreciate
his call.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
I also like h VJ playing really nice with Alex
and then as soon as Alex got off air, just
saying your take sucks, sorry about that, bro it. We
basically went along with it. For Yeah, I guess we're
resigning Sam Darnold. He's just like a lot of Miwaukee sucks.
Jennie McCarthy, Hey, up to the.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
That's right, that's right, JJ, go go get me one. JJ.
All right, Doug Gottleib Show. I'll tell you what that
was fun.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Let's get some more Christmas gifts for hour four, we're
in for Covino and Rich. We'll do that at the
top of the next hour. Top of hour four, excuse
me at the well, would that be six pm Eastern
three pm Pacific hour. We'll give out more gifts. But
I'll tell you what when we come back, VJ. He's
not giving out gifts. He's sending somebody out of town

(20:29):
in a hurry. We're gonna discuss all that next Fox
Sports Radios Doug Gottlieb Show.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Welcome back, everybody, This is the Doug gott Leab Show.
Doug is out Errators.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
VJ. Huskier in.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
We are broadcasting live from the tirec dot Com Studios.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Tirec dot Com. We'll help you get there.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
An unmatched election, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection
over ten thousand was in recommended installers tyreck dot com
the way tire buying should be. So we've talked a
lot of NFL today. By the way, the second game
is just about to start here. That, of course is
Ravens at Texans. We will keep you updated on that
right around a four thirty Eastern time kick. We also

(21:18):
have some NBA. The big story so far is Victor
wenbin Yama, probably a little bit of a national coming
out party.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Wemby forty two and.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Eighteen with four blocks for Wemby. We'll get to him
in a sec V. But one of the Lake games
it is Lakers at Golden State. The Lakers are returning
to the court for the first time since losing to
the Pistons at home on Monday. Why I bring it up,
You were in the building for that loss to the Pistons,
you were covering the game, and I know you have

(21:48):
some thoughts on the state of the Lakers, who are
now sixteen and thirteen heading into their Christmas Night game
against the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Here's the thing. What I'm about to say, this is
nothing new. Now I want to reference this case. I
believe Monty was working that day, and I'm pretty sure
she's probably gonna remember us because she has a great memory,
especially when I get on air. I call in or whatever,
and I'd be wilding out. So it was on an
odd couple. And it was when Lebron was at All
Star Weekend. It was calling all these other gms like like.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Praising Oklahoma City. It was yes, all right.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
So remember Rob and Chris were talking about, you know,
like the rumors come out, should they be thinking about
trading because Rich Paul had to go do the damage
control of meeting with Jeanie because Jennie was pretty pissed
about that. She was it may I came out parbly,
but if you listen, if you look, talk to people
as close to the organization in the media to tell
you she was not happy about that. Ris Paul had
to go do a little you know, no, we don't

(22:40):
want to be trading.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
We think we think police was great. Oh we love Rob.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
I said it previously two weeks before that, filling in
on our couple that they needed to trade Lebron. Then
when the rumors started, when I called in that day,
because I remember Chris going off.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
I mean, you can't take a victory lap like that.
You ain't calling it.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
And you acted like listen, bro y'all should have traded him,
like three years ago. Listen, I don't respect the bubble chip,
but he got it for you, no problem.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
The banner's hanging up there.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Well, you took four months off, Listen, they took four
months off with you twenty three games.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
The twenty three games print to a championship.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
That would be like saying, oh, yeah, the NFL is
gonna take off two months and then go play four
games and we have a Super Bowl champion.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
No one in the studio would agree with.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
That healthiest stretcher of Anthony Davis's crib well exactly because
they had that four month break. The same for Lebron
in his old age. But I said it again two
years ago. It's like, okay, listen, this is running its course.
It's not gonna get any better. Yeah, he could put
numbers up because he's stat padd and we all know it.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
And now in the national media wants to talk about it.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
When I said it two three years ago, I was
a hater, but it was ahead of the curve then
and I'm a head of curve now and now here
we are.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
You gotta move on from this guy. I saw it
with my own eyes.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
I literally watched the game on Basley said, I just
want to see how he plays, and it feels like
some of these games he almost hopes that they get
down so he could go into hero mode.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
He could go into hero mode.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
And at one point, if you watch this game, everything
was a drive at the end of the game is
and the game let but Detroit's like, we're up eleven,
Bro going like, go ahead, we're up eleven. Now they
did close it to three. Cade has the ISO on
the left, his shoes the brick and that's how they
get the ball. Anthony Davis has the layup. They call
a foul. I'm watching them slay Tobias didn't touch him.
They reviewed, they overturned, get the ball back. Kate misses.

(24:19):
They're coming out. I said, Lebron's gonna shoot the three.
I'm in the press boss that like, Lebron's gonna jack
of three. Guys, He's not gonna put it now. Leading
up to this, he was putting it on the floor
going to the who. I said, I guarantee you he
catches this outside and and bricks a three pointer. And
that's exactly what happens. This whole thing. It's it's over.
It's wearing like year eight or nine.

Speaker 9 (24:38):
This isn't new, And doesn't it feel like it's only
been three right?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
It does?

Speaker 3 (24:43):
What's bad?

Speaker 4 (24:44):
It does?

Speaker 5 (24:44):
It feels like it willna be like, boy, it's going
dog two more years has been a decade that Lebron's been.

Speaker 8 (24:48):
Here, and then yeah, he's not in my I'm not
a Laker fan, but I don't think he's like a
real Laker.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
No, no, whoa and no.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
What I was saying about this year talta Los Angelinos.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Ye, talk to them, they'll tell you.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
First of all, this is the take that I've given
a thousand times on Fox Sports Radio. But the whole
Dan Hurley thing, it was like people were like, well,
he's not going to turn down the Lakers. I'm like,
do you know how people that don't live in LA
do not understand how toxic the brand is. Like my
exact quote was, so when he went to interview for
the job, I was on vacation in Cabo, and so

(25:20):
I wake up to the new story and everybody's like,
Tore's your coach is leaving. I went to you, kind
of everybody knows your coach is leaving, and I was like,
why would he leave for that awful job? And people
are like, you don't turn down the Lakers. And my
exact quote was, I went to bed in Cabo did
I wake up in nineteen eighty four? Because Magic Johnson

(25:41):
is it on this team? Careeb is it on this team?
Michael Cooper, Kobe Shack, Robert ri. I was like, this
organization is a disaster. And to your point, I don't
think people realize how toxic it is if you're not
in this La bubble. And then it did a step further,
and this was something I'll say about this year. This
year feels like a lebron nostalgia tour. Oh, Bronni's gonna play.

(26:05):
Then Bronni's gonna play in Cleveland. It's like, oh, so
you can have your little nostalgia moment. And then to
your point, it's like, oh, I hope we fall down
so I can get some so I can pad my
stats and you know, I can set this record and like, listen,
the points record is obviously an incredible accomplishment, but it's
also now it feels like he is in record setting

(26:26):
mode rather than actually helping the win in mode exactly.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
Yeah, So it sucks the air out of the room
when he's off the court. You got just look at
the numbers and I'm I'm I'm going in my head,
I'm trying to estimate, but I know a hat of
like four ninety two, he's at like four twenty six
as far as this plus minus. Like, if he's not
when he's on the court, it's not good, guys. It's
just not looking at the teams that they're being And
I want to talk to the NBA schedule makers. How
the hell they get the Kings three times this early

(26:50):
in the year. How you get the piss that's coming
off of losing twenty eight straight last year. This both
like both like if when you look at this, guys, like, dude,
we're in the hard games at at least three or
four bad teams. It's like bad team, bad team, bad team,
good team, three days off, bad team, bat team, good
team two days off. It's like, who's making these schedules?
And that's nor here nor there. I'm just adding just
a little little topping into the Sunday there. But at

(27:12):
the end of the day, they have to break this up,
like now, now, whether it's a d or whether it's him,
it's gotta start now.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
You're not winning nothing this year. And I don't want
to hear all what.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
They got to the second round, because three we still
have to hear about two three years ago when they
got to these the conference finals.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Is that the barometer? Now he's the conference finals. I
didn't know.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
I thought the brometer was to win a championship. But
he and the Lakers seem to be the only thing
that's allowed. They get credit for how far they go,
even if it's the first round. Well, they got to
the playoffs, Lebron, they got to the playoff. Let's correct
that Lebron gets the credit. Oh, it's another thing on
his resume. Then a year later, we're firing Darvin Hamill.
Why are we firing Darvin ham He just made the
Western covers. Well he stinks, well he stinks.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
It's like, okay, same was he wasn't he the coach
when he made the Western Conference finals? So it's like, oh,
Lebron gets it. Oh, it's forty three years old. He
just hat a to the Western Conference finals. But the
coach stunk and the teammates stunk, and it was all abroad.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
It's just yeah, that's time. It's been time and time again.
That's the thing with him. And it's been proven accurate
time and time again.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Is like when things go well, he gets all the credit,
and when things go bad.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Everybody else gets everybody else. I feel.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
I rolled past Rob the other night and I was
like speaking to him because he's Kobe agent. Kobe was
my guy. Rob Poliica doesn't know me, Guys, trust me.
He's very polite. If you say hello, he will say
high back. Have a good night, Rob, and you too,
brother Mary Chris and Mary Chris is Rob. But you
could just see, like the look, the look in his
face after that lost the other night was just like,
because it's coming down to stretch, guys, they're gonna fire
Rob Polinka. I'm calling it matter of fact. Christmas, I'll

(28:43):
give you guys it, Yeah, call it. Put it on
the ball, you know me.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
I don't run him.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Rob Polinka will be fired this year. There will fire
Rob Polica. They wanted to fire Ropelica last year. But
you're bringing a new coach. They're gonna fight. They can't
fire JJ.

Speaker 9 (28:57):
Oh no, maybe Rob Polinka wants to be fired.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
And maybe listen. I'm being honest.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
I literally walked two feet across the man leaving the
arena last night, I was going to the court to
do my video concert both hands in pocket kind of.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
He didn't look like Christmas was coming. It's just two
days away from Christmas. Twin Monday night. I had to
dust this off.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
But we do have it. You can put it on
the ball man, thank you.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
Yeah, but hey, they're gonna fire him this year, and
it's just it's okay, Now, what are you gonna do
because you keep hearing these stories they're in the market
for a big man.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
What big man? What big man are you getting? Like,
stop this stuff.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
The ball is still gonna be dominated by Lebron and
ad like he got blamed for the other night. It's like, dude,
you only have fourteen shots. Who took more shots Lebron did. Hey,
it's gotta run through a d if you don't get
him going early. It's a coin flip, though, what kind
of game you're gonna get when you go to him
early forty two and eighteen, thirty nine and twelve. He's
been on a crazy run. But Lebron gets into these nights,

(29:50):
whereas no, you guys got to remember me. We remember
who you are.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
You take the air of the room every time you
walk in it so we remember who you are. And
if I'm Jeanie in front office, you gotta blow this
thing up now now. And now you gave him the extension,
and you gave a d the extension, and you drafted
his son.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
It's now you're stuck in this.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
But if I'm Genium like Dad, I'm summons in from
my fo Dad, what do I do?

Speaker 4 (30:11):
He's gonna drop.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
It's gonna drop a grenade down to hair, Honey, pulled
the pin, throw it in, blow this up.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
You back.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
That's the only answer you got. You got Dalton and
you got Austin. You got some good you guys. Some
I even like DLA. I know a lot of people don't,
but I do. So you got some young pieces. You
got some things to do. Man, they got to reset
this franchise.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Well, I'm gonna nerd out super quick because it puts
a bow on this conversation. You like that, no, go ahead.
I like to listen to your no, no, no no.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Because because I got yelled at last year when I
was critical of the Browny draft draft pick. Oh yeah,
and people are like, who are you getting at fifty six?
That's gonna play well. First of all Trace Jackson Davis
was the fifty seventh pick last year, and uh oh,
by the way, get him, get him, get him. And
this is where my college basketball nerd comes in. There

(30:54):
was a name that I put out who was available.
I said, there's a kid named Keisha Johnson out of
Arizona that was not drafted at that point that would
help you. Well, guess what happened yesterday Miami Heater converting
Keisha Johnson on at his two way contract to a
two year NBA contract. Is he's averaging twenty one points
in eight boards per game in the G League.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
He will now be part of the Miami Heat.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Just bring it up because you can't simultaneously. It's the
point that I made of it's a Lebron nostalgia tour,
Like if it's really about winning, you you can't draft
an eighteen year old that isn't ready to play.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
So I'll tell you what. We could talk about Lebron
all day.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
The one thing I'll give him credit for at forty
years old, I think as of today, at forty years.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Old, tell you what, he's still a heck of a
sports talk radio topic. So of course, yeah, of course,
but I don't mind it. Yeah, I don't mind it.
I love to talk about he's listen.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
In our business, sometimes you got to put the feelings away.
You got to talk about Who's talk about able?

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Is that a word? Talk about able? Clip that by
December fortieth birthday? And listen.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
There's times and there's times I look and I go, man,
it's impressive what he's doing.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
But yeah, they got they got to blow this thing up. Man,
it's over.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Who likes to talk about a lot of stuff? Manti Blanios,
can you tell us what is trending right now? I mean,
you just keep going on about Lebron if you want,
but also I'm good. We do need to know what's
trending at this exact moment. Clip in a good way.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
Now, No, we're changing that now.

Speaker 8 (32:26):
It's like chargery, we're changing that too, the charge.

Speaker 9 (32:30):
Yeah, exactly exactly.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
The Texans and the Ravens are officially underway. I hate
that this streaming is delayed based on what the Internet
is telling me.

Speaker 9 (32:40):
That's annoying.

Speaker 8 (32:41):
But it looks like Lamar Jackson just had a nice
little run for Baltimore.

Speaker 9 (32:44):
They do have the ball.

Speaker 8 (32:46):
They have cross midfield into Houston, territory. They're at the
the thirty four yard line Houston second and third, So
right now, everything's just got going in this second game
on Christmas Day. But the Chiefs did clinch the number
one seed in the AFC. They beat the Steelers twenty
nine to ten. They get a first round by Patrick
Mahomes twenty nine of thirty eight, three hundred and twenty
yards and three touchdowns. One of them went to Travis

(33:08):
Kelce his seventy seventh touchdown reception, which is the most
in Kansas City history. He also becomes the third tight
end in NFL history with one thousand career receptions. Russell
Wilson in the lost twenty three to thirty seven, two
hundred and five yards, one interception, and a rushing touchdown.
In the NBA, the Mavericks lost Luka doncc around the
second quarter to.

Speaker 9 (33:29):
A CAF strain and the Timberwolves we're just going.

Speaker 8 (33:32):
The MAVs decided maybe we do want to play, so
they're trying to get back in the game. But Minnesota
is on top ninety seven to eighty eight with about
four minutes to go in the game. Kyrie Irving thirty
four points, Julius Randall from Minnesota nineteen points, nine rebounds
and eight assists. Earlier today out of Madison Square Garden,
the Knicks top the Spurs one seventeen to one fourteen.

Speaker 9 (33:52):
Mckel Bridges led the way with forty one points.

Speaker 8 (33:55):
Four New York Victor went Banyama had forty two points,
eighteen rebounds, and.

Speaker 9 (33:59):
Four in his first Christmas Day game. Now later today,
in the NBA, there are five five games.

Speaker 8 (34:04):
The last one is the Nuggets in the Suns, but
Phoenix will be without Devin Booker because of his groin injury.
Tip off for that one is ten thirty Eastern. That'll
be the third straight game that he misses. Oh and
lastly here not to change it too much, but did
you guys hear the story of ESPN Former Seahawks head
coach Pete Carroll has expressed interest in the Bear's head
coaching job.

Speaker 9 (34:25):
Would like to return to the sideline. He has not
spoken to.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Any teams yet. I haven't heard that.

Speaker 8 (34:30):
According to there's an ESPN story that he has not
spoken to any teams yet but would welcome the chance.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
And then Pro Football Talk to Florida.

Speaker 8 (34:40):
Put out another story that I haven't read, but kind
of saying like this isn't true. And then Adam Schefter
was like, yeah, okay, you and your lives on Christmas
Day or something.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
If we're going smoke, there's fire. That's the way I
always believe media. We're just smoke this fire. If it
came out.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
So Colin says that it.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
Got out because someone wanted it out, right, and.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
I'll go with that.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
Right.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Oh, it looks like the Ravens just scored a touchdown. Everybody,
Derrick Henry rushing touchdown, So Ravens on the scoreboard first,
early in the first quarter.

Speaker 4 (35:10):

what movie A guy sitting in some headphones listening to
that song right there.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Rocky four. Do you remember where it is? Rocky four?

Speaker 6 (36:19):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Oh, Paulie.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Paulie's sitting there with the headphones on, rocking back in
the rocket chair with Rocky. You're going out and running
the snow. This song is playing in the background. Stupid,
worthless piece of information. I know, but it's Christmas is
a Christmas ang and that just popped in my mind.
Remember he fought Drago Christmas night.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
I was gonna say listen.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
I wanted to talk Wenby really quick, but I saw
Chris Plaink tweeting about this yesterday about.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Rocky four Christmas movie, like we talk about die here
it is. It is a Christmas movie.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Batman returns lethal weapon, die Hard the Christmas movies.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
Guy, stop playing Batman's.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
Guess what somebody told me? It's not Christmas movie. First
line in the movie Merry Christmas. Last line in the
movie Merry Christmas. How's it not a Christmas movie?

Speaker 4 (37:00):
You guys seen the new Netflix carry on?

Speaker 5 (37:03):
No, but I saw the trailer four and it makes
me want to watch good Okay, yeah, also too, Candy
kay Lane, Eddie Murphy, Tracy alis Ross. It came my
last year Netflix, so I watched it.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Rarely you get a new good Christmas and wese all
the good ones are old, right. Four Christmas is another
kind of recent one for you guys.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Claus was good on Netflix really quickly.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
By the way, I don't mean to cut you guys off,
but we do have a very interesting game in Dallas.
Dallas has cut the lead for Minnesota. Minnesota one hundred
and one Dallas ninety nine under a minute ago. Will
keep you updated on that.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Also.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
I know Montial have the update at the top of
the hour, but as she just told you, the Baltimore
Ravens are up seven to nothing on the Houston Texans
midway through the first quarter.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Keep you updated on those two games, real quick. V.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Obviously, Christmas Day is NBA or NFL, but it's also,
of course the NBA. What'd you make of Victor Rhumbinyama.
I gotta talk about him for at least a minute.
Cool already two eighteen and four on Christmas Day for
Victor Wimbaye.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
Legit, everything they said about him, man, Remember it was questions.
People were, Hey, you're telling me this is the greatest
prospect of all time in pro sports, not the NBA
pro sports. So of course I'm old enough to go
back to Bo Jackson and John Elway and Dion when
those guys were coming in, You're just like, dude, this
is the next like guy Andrew Luck, this is the
next Peyton Manning. These guys were game changers, right like
you know Legendary. We knew from the jump Lebron, we

(38:28):
knew Jordan, we knew from the jump they were gonna
be legendary.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
I think that's what they've getting in this kid.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Man.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Love the way he plays, and I just love the
way this I love the way this franchise is set up.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
Man. You know Pop's got his stuff. He goes out.
Remember Becky Hammon, Hey boo.

Speaker 5 (38:40):
Becky Hammond coached this team in the Summer League for
a little while, and he's passed this on. Imaidoku had
coached him a few times when he was there sitting
on a bitch for Pop. Just this franchise, you'll be
You'll be hard pressed to find another better run from
top to bottom franchise in pro sports in the last
thirty years. Did you would this this franchise right here
with the San Antonio love love what I saw with Wemby,

(39:02):
Like you can't do nothing with him, bro. And once
he puts a little beef on him, once he's start
using those mills, eat eat more steate, get your private
chev eat the good steak, eat the good you know,
positive stuff.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
Beef up a little bit. He's gonna be serious. Man.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Victor Win Binyama will turn twenty one years old in
two weeks from now January fourth of twenty twenty five.
By the way, with the Spurs. Another guy, Steph Castle,
my guy from Yukon, is actually the favorite to win
Rookie of the Year right now. Uh he quote unquote
only had six points three assists in his Christmas Day debut,

(39:33):
but he's averaging eleven and a half points. He's a
defensive stopper. He's been good for them so far. So yeah,
I thought it was a cool coming out stage for
Victor win Binyama, Uh kind of you know, listen how
many people were watching with the with the NFL game
going on at the same time. But when Yama right, well,
I'll tell you what.
