Leap Show, Fox Sparks Radio. I'll be ready for a
good weekend, big weekend plans. You boys got weekend plans? Music?
Are you doing? What do you got going? Uh? Wednesday?
Or wait? No, yesterday was my mom's birthday, So happy birthday, Andrea,
(00:51):
a young young No, I'm kidding. Um, So we're going
down to Torrance to go spend some time with my parents.
M okay, um, it's gonna be hot. It's still hot
this weekend. Right we're in southern California, by the way,
broadcasting it's been hotter than the sun outside. I mean,
just absolute craziness in terms of heat. Uh, ramos, how
(01:13):
about you what you got this weekend? Well, the kids
want to go to the beach. They've been bugging me
for the last two weeks, so I might take him
down with the kids to the beach just kind of
you know, obviously, you know, make sure we're distancing all
that type of stuff, and then Lucas. I want to
get Lucas back out to throwing the ball, so we'll
probably go out into the park and play some catch
for like a half hour and do some hitting and
stuff like that. So, yeah, what what beach do you do?
(01:36):
We go to? I think Sudan wants to go to
like Balboa that area, wait to Newport Beach. Yeah, yeah,
out like she likes Balboa Island. She likes the island
out island, it's adorable. Are you going Saturday or Sunday? Um, well,
Sunday's the NFL, I would say Saturday, if we've picked
(01:57):
a day. Yeah, okay, Well mean listen, if you're around,
hit me up the number, right I do have I
do have your numbers? Hit me up. I mean I live,
you know, five minutes from there and by the way
around Sunday and Lucas, Hey, he's got a baseball game
on Sunday. Oh hey does play two o'clock and be pitching.
(02:19):
I believe he's starting pitching. So out in that area
or you guys literally right down the street, really right
down the street in my house, so that we're pretty
he I told you he gave up base He he
gave up baseball for exactly two months, and now he's back,
and well, I'm happy he's back. I am too. It's
so much fun to watch him. And I was doing
I helped out a little bit of practices this day.
(02:40):
They got it. They had one of those curveball machines
and but it was a lefty curveball, and he's like,
this is easy. I was like, yeah, but you're hitting
right handed. Imagine if you're here left hand, it's harder.
Um anyway, He's like, yeah, it looks like my curveballs. Like,
looks easy on your curveball. Well, the funny thing is
Jonah is left hand. We think Jonah is left handed,
and I'm extremely excited by that. Hayes his left handed.
(03:01):
He hits right hand, he throws left. But we are
in the process and he used to hit left, as
we used to hit both ways, and we're in the
process of turning him around as well to get back
to hitting left. But just getting him out there is fun.
And so again, if you're around either day, make sure
we got we got a lot of basketball this weekend
as well, so we'll be in a gym or out
on the fields and well the social distancing, yes, kind
(03:23):
of interesting on how everything is going down. Buyer, you
you got your show this weekend? Are you also doing um?
Are you also doing what? Yard work work? Weekend? No,
It's it's gonna be hot. It's going to be what
I call our our last unofficial day of summer, especially
on Saturday. That's gonna be the big day just because
(03:45):
you know, Big ten is still not playing football, so
we've got a couple of more Saturdays where that's not
necessarily on the you know, on our radar. So the
ribs have been purchased. They will be uh season tonight
and then uh, well let's hold on, let's talk here.
Let's talk here. I do have a take on last
night's football game, and I think it's a unique one.
But but tell me about your rib game and I'll
(04:06):
give you my rib game as well. Okay, so baby
back rib. Is that what you got with um? And
so what's your what's your what's your plan? Give me
the game? So the game plan tonight is to uh
to put the rub on them, and we use We
are a fan of a variety of different barbecue seasonings,
but for tonight's ribs, it will be the Holy Gospel
(04:29):
Meat Church barbecue rub. So those will go on the ribs.
They will then go in the fridge probably, you know,
twelve to eighteen hours, and then tomorrow at around eleven o'clock,
I'll get the fire going. I cook them on three
hours about is what. It takes. Forty five minutes that
I'll throw some apple juice on them, another forty five,
some more apple juice, and then another forty five, and
(04:50):
then I wrapped them for the last forty five at
about three hundred degrees. I try to do a little
quicker than some. And um, I like that, Can I tell? So?
I made you guys know some There are times which
we're working at home. On Wednesday this week, I was
working at home. I smoked some ribs during the show
for everybody else for my face, because I was gonna,
let's just let it smoke. And then like we got done.
(05:14):
It was like four or three thirty or something, and
no one else was home and I was starving. I
was like, let me try one of these. We end
up getting in I'm getting home and there's like three
ribs left of a little bit. So um, we also
I do the rub and I cook it slow and low,
and I'm I'm with you on about three three and
a half hours is about it's about right, man. There's
(05:34):
nothing like There's nothing like grillan, there's nothing like barbecue,
and there's nothing like smoking some meats. Good for you.
It is the last day some of then. Of course
you can hear uh Sunday all the games taking place.
Keep it the Fox Sports trader. You're here, Dan Fire. Um,
last you go back a couple of years ago and
we thought the Jets were tanking. They won six games.
That was when Ryan Fitzpatrick is a quarterback, right, yeah,
(05:57):
it was now the quarterback of the Dolphins. That'll be
important in like two segments when I make my picks.
So now they have Sam Donald and they looked awful
last night. They just looked. They look poorly coached, poorly prepared.
I'm not a Greg Williams guy. I know they want
a Super Bowl and in New Orleans with him, but
I've I've just heard enough where like his teams are
undisciplined and he's undisciplined, and he you know, he went
(06:21):
after other coaches when he's in Cleveland, and he makes
these claims about having all these head coaching jobs that
are offered to him, which no one believes to be true,
especially guys that actually know in the NFL. And then
last night there were some hits on Brett Ribbon late
which like, look, the game was over, they calling time out.
I get that Adam Gays had to make it look
like they're still being competitive, but it just said an
ugly tone and the Denver Broncos ran off the field
(06:44):
without shaking hands because their head coach, who had worked
with Adam Gays in Chicago before. I was like, let's
get out of here. This is Adam Gays talking about
the game. You say, the fans who don't want to
see you be the coach of this team passed tonight.
I know we're working to get this thing right. I mean,
I'm not happy about this. I mean, I know we
can play way better than this. I know we can
(07:06):
not beat ourselves and do the things we're doing. Yeah,
so obviously he's not happy with the way they're playing.
That's a big thing that they're they're not playing good football,
and it feels like the Jets are like, you know,
it's a bad year. We're just not gonna what do
we accomplish by firing him? The last thing you want
to do is gift to Greig Williams, who hasn't done
(07:26):
a good job of his own right, So one guy's
in charge of the offense. He's the head coach that's
not going well. The defense is kind of a joke
and undisciplined that we don't want that to happen. What
are we gonna do? I'll tell exactly what you're gonna
You're gonna tank for Trevor, Right, Yeah, you're gonna take
Trevor Lawrence quarterback. Clemson won a national title. I got
a chance to win one this year. Great prospect um.
(07:49):
In arguably the number one prospect coming out of college
football and probably the most lauded, the most respected quarterback
prospect since Andrew Luck. And I don't think people think
that he's as brilliant as Luck, but super super talented, big,
fast and run and throw all that different stuff. Right, Um,
(08:11):
but I wouldn't thank for Trevor to draft Trevor. See
Trevor Lawrence is the number one pick. Everybody wants a quarterback.
Young quarterbacks are doing well except for Sam Donald was
running for his life. They just don't have enough talent.
They don't have guys around it. You can't make an
accurate I don't believe you can make an accurate evaluation
of how good Sam Donald really is based upon how
(08:33):
how they're playing and who he's playing with right now.
I just don't think so. So if it's me, this
is just me speaking. I tank for Trevor. I got
no problem tanking. I want to be I want to
get them to clean it up. I want them to
be competitive at the end of the game. I want
them to lose and to lose Bigley, and then I
want to I want everyone to know we think Trevor
Lawrence is the number one prospect. And then I want
(08:54):
to get as many seconds and thirds, maybe another first
as possible. Already have two first round picks with the
Jamal Adams deal, right, another first round pick, you know,
move down the first round, get some seconds, get some thirds,
get a whole new team in there. They just don't
have good enough players. You can't make a proper evaluation
of what anybody is because of of what Sam Donald
(09:15):
is when the coach isn't really that well respected, the
defense is a ragtag group in the offensive line is bad.
And outside of Jamison Crowder, who do you have each
one throw the ball too? We read hot last week?
Okay five in one County Monday Night Football four and
one on Sunday. Actually, if you go back to last
two weeks, I got my week four picks for you
(09:35):
up coming next, be sure to catch the live edition
of The Doug Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Easter
noon Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart
Radio ah AP Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Radio. Let's
get to my picks five, NFL five College five. It's
(09:56):
five for five with Doug gottlie Let's go five, all right,
let's get after it and NFL picks the Ravens. I
think this is up to fourteen now. I liked it
when it was thirteen. I liked it. Win was thirteen
and a half last night when I sent a note
to my man Ryan Music, I like it at fourteen two.
Washington stinks and they have massive they have injuries at
(10:17):
wide receiver. Um. The Ravens. They kick everybody's ass except
for the Chiefs and the Chargers and playoff teams, and
the Redskins are not a playoff team. Two and one
against the spread, Wall Washingtons wanted two against the spread.
This would have been a great rivalry. Fans were there.
I was four and one last weekend. For a reason
I didn't. I just simplified it right, just picked the
(10:40):
teams that's way better. The Ravens are way better than
uh than the Redskins. And the Ravens didn't think they
played particularly well and that game plan didn't work against
the Chiefs. This is not the Chiefs, this is the
Washington football team. Give me the Ravens. Take the points
later points um. Seahawks are taking on the Dolphins. Not
only is it the longest trip in the NFL, the
(11:03):
Dolphins are tune one against the spread. This season, Seahawks
defense is thirty second against the pass and twenty nine
on third down three red zone. By the way, Jamal
Adams has been ruled out. Oops, Seattle, go look at
their injury list. You're like, man, that is not good. No,
not good. As an understatement, Seattle is all banged up,
(11:24):
and the Dolphins played well, and they've had ten days
ten days off, So I'm gonna take the Dolphins and
take the six staph points. The Browns are taken on
the Cowboys. Cowboys defense is twenty nine points per game,
allowed twenty nine against the pass on third down. Now
you may say, well, the Browns like to run the football. Yes,
(11:46):
they run to set the past, but the Cowboys just
have major problems in coverage. They were confused and this
is not a confusing game plan. It's kind of simplistic,
but it's going to be effective. I don't like, I
love the Browns on the broad. We've also seen road
teams do well or normally there's you know, tough environments.
This is not gonna be a tough environment to me.
(12:09):
I really really like the Cleveland Browns on the road
getting four and a half points. I think Cleveland talent
wise is very similar to the Cowboys, and the Cowboys
defense is kind of a mess. Right now, I'm gonna
take Cleveland. Um, Kansas City has taken on New England,
(12:31):
and I know that we're infatuated, infatuated with uh with
what Cam Newton has been able to do. But in
terms of prep time when you have a short week,
and there's some similarities in scheme between Cam Newton and
Lamar Jackson. I think that actually plays in the hands
(12:53):
of the the Kana City Chiefs, and I will grant you
the kan City it wasn't as explosive against the Chargers,
and that's probably how the Patriots are gonna play them.
But I still like Kansas City and that number of
seven um last one and this one feels kind of
easy to me, which again this is me trying to
(13:14):
non oversimplify things. The Rams were robbed last week. Were
they robbed? Rahmos? It was close to robbed. I felt
like they were robbed. They're taking on the Giants are
one of the worst teams in football. Giants have to
travel across country. Rams are gonna be fast and the
fast track of playing at home. I think the Rams
are pretty good this year. I really do. I think
they almost become one of these underrated teams from being
(13:37):
overrated last year coming off a Super Bowl loss, to
being underrated this year, whereas the Giants are just a
mess right Their offense is built around Sae Kwon Barkley
and guess what they don't have se Kwan Barkley, Daniel Jones,
the turnover machine, the best way to lose on the
road is to turn the football over. I'm gonna take
another big favorite. Thirteen points not enough, give me the Rams.
Those my five picks there. It is five NFL five
(14:01):
College five for five with Doug Gottley. You know, the
most interesting college football game to me is Texas A
and M taking on Alabama. And this one obviously been
played in Tuscaloosa, no fans, so it won't be the
same atmosphere. But this is year three for Jimbo Fisher,
and many people believe, you know, like, look, you don't
pay a guy seventy five million dollars over ten years
(14:24):
unless you expect him and his team to compete and
compete right away. Uh. Kellen mon is a good night
great quarterback. They're talented running back with Isaiah Spiller, they
have a litany of good wide receivers. But I just
this is these are the kind of games where Alabama
having a game under their belt looking good at Missouri.
(14:44):
I don't like, I love Alabama in that game, even
if talent wise it's not, you know, getting getting Mac
Jones a bunch of run last year I think really
really propels them early in the season. Be sure to
catch the live edition of The Doug got Leap Show
weekdays at three p m. Easter noon Pacific. Let's welcome.
And he's a foreign Pro Bowl wide receiver and my
(15:06):
man t J. Hush Benzati joins us in the Doug
ot Leaves Show on Fox Sports Radio. T J. I
feel like it's hard to get a read on Sam
Donald just because he doesn't have dudes to throw too,
he doesn't have people protecting him, and and uh, and
there's mixed reviews on Adam Gates outside of Peyton Manning.
What's what's what's your take on whether or not Sam
(15:26):
can in fact live up to his lofty reputation when
he was drafted. He can live up to it if
he gets some help. I mean, it's this is calor
what It's pitiful, man, what they've done up there in
New York. It's really pitiful that if you look across
the league, he's he's playing with the least of any
(15:47):
quarterback that was drafted as high as they were drafted at.
They come in with promise like he had. Nobody knows
how good or bad he can be because he hasn't
been given any help. And I'm talking up front, and
you trade your best defensive player out wide, you let
your best receiver go on Robbie Anderson, the guy you
(16:10):
draffed Denzel Millams hasn't played and he's a rookie, so
how much is he really gonna help. They haven't given
Sound a chance at all. Like everybody, they're steal in
money from the Johnson's. They robbing them because they're not
doing a job. It's terrible. What they've done up there
is completely terrible. Okay, So here here's what I said.
I said they should tank for Trevor Lawrence, but not
to draft Trevor Lawrence. Man if Trevor Lawrence and the
(16:32):
Jets get the first pick, I'm seriously considering stand at Clemson.
Why would you want to do if? If I'm the Jets,
though I do I want Trevor Lawrence, sure, but I
already have a quarterback and no matter who I bring in,
we're not surrounding him buy enough talent. Yeah, absolutely, and
(16:52):
and it may not. You may not get a more
valuable Number one overall than than getting a Trevor Lawrence
is as well regarded as as Burrow was last year.
It was because of the season that he had not
necessarily because of his armed talent. This dude checks all
the boxes and has had a couple of outstanding seasons.
I think it'll be of anything in over value number
one overall pick. That's how I load up my roster
(17:14):
with young talent. Now, the only way that works is
if Trevor Lawrence knows that's the plan. Because if I'm
Trevor Lawrence and I'm Trevors Lawrence parents or his representation,
unless I know that's going to happen, I don't know
if I want to go play for the Jets. And
so is it a guarantee Jets we get the first pick,
(17:37):
we are for sure trading this pig. That has to
be an agreement prior to because again, he's gonna be
in the same predictament of sound Darnald. All right, let's
le let's let's pruise running league. Can you win with
Drew Brees and the current state of his arm? If
Michael Thomas is healthy and playing, they have a much
(18:02):
better chance they can. But when you have your best receiver,
that's pretty much in essence. Missed the last two games,
kind of got nicked up in the middle of the
game against the Buck's first game of the season. Yeah,
you can do it. It's it's gonna be obviously a
lot harder. Um, the defense hasn't played as well as
they played last year. Whatever reason. They can do it.
(18:22):
But they need a healthy Mike Thomas and they need
a Mike Thomas uh that they had last year and
as of now with him, even when he comes back,
he's gonna be ready to go, but he's not gonna
be a hundred percent and so it's gonna be tough.
You just look at the injury. He's not playing Sunday. Um,
both corners Marshawn Lattimore and Genor Jenkins aren't playing. I
(18:42):
mean I thought, Okay, they can get back on a
good foot and beat the Lions. I'm not so sure
of that now this Sunday with all the injuries they have. Yeah, actually,
that was one of my picks I forgot to add
was the line. I do like the lines are kind
of sneaky decent. Should have one week one against Chicago, didn't.
We did win against Arizona, and now that they're getting
more healthy with Golladay back, Like, I kind of like
(19:04):
the lines there. I think that the Saints have been
a little bit exposed, and then obviously offensively, there's limitations
without Michael Michael Thomas, T J. Husbin's out as our
guest in the Doug Gotlip Show on Fox Sports Radio. Uh,
let's let's let's go to Tom Brady. How is that
relationship working between Bruce Arians and Tom Brady? I think
(19:24):
it's fine. You look at the first game when Bruce
Arians said what he said and people got in the
huff of, oh, you can't criticize Tom. Nobody knows the
relationship they had or the agreement they may or may
not have had. UM. What is water off for Ducks back?
Now they've won the last two games, and winning cures everything,
and they're winning and they're best players aren't playing every game,
(19:47):
and so I believe god one will miss another game,
and so once they can start to click the Bucks.
I thought the Bucks would be one of the better
teams in the NFC. UM losing the first game, people
kind of jumped off the band aagon and I was
one to say, only one game, just stick with them.
They're gonna be fine, And I still believe that's the case.
The guys can get healthy. That defense they have is
(20:10):
is unbelievable and you just won't this. This is the
best offensive guys that Brady has played wood since say
yere you have Mosston Welker and so we're not talking
the running backs to Ronald Jones, Wonard for Nett tight end.
He has a bunch of weapons. I really like the bucks.
I think they're gonna be perfectly fine. T Jospins out,
our guest in the doug Otlip Show on Fox Sports Radio,
(20:32):
what's your reaction? How well Aaron Rodgers playing Aaron Rodgers
is basically telling everybody, Yeah, I forgot I was Aaron Rodgers.
That's what he's doing. And he's telling him green Bay package.
I'll picked um, he's I wasted the first round pick.
And if guy's never gonna get on the field and
he's he's he has a vengeance man, And if this
(20:53):
was the motivation he needed, maybe the Packers are okay
with rest uh wasting the first round pick on Jordan's
love if the case, because he's playing so well. When
he's playing well with receivers, his best one being Davante
Adams out now one that he just recently kind of
hops on the scene, Alan Lazard out now so who
(21:15):
was he playing with. I mean, he's playing with guys
nobody knows, and he's super successful. He's getting a job done,
and he's just reminding everybody that, yeah, I'm still that guy.
He's definitely still that guy. Doug gotlip show here on
Fox Sports Radio, t jasmins out of is our guy,
he continues to join us. Um Okay, I'm I'm I'm
(21:35):
interested in this one. Folds back as a starting quarterback
and filling in is one thing, but how do you
win consistently with Nick Foles. It's gonna be it's gonna
be interesting to see he he's going they play the
coach and obviously, uh Frank Wright was winning in Philly.
(21:56):
He's gonna have an idea of how to slow him
down at least slow down at least. I always felt
like the Bears were gonna go with uh Trabinsky out
the gate because you could always go to folds, and
if you reverse that, I don't think you can start
folds and then go to Trabinsky's confidence would have been
uh would have been shattered. I don't know how well
he'll do um long term with this. He wasn't great
(22:21):
this past Sunday. He made some big plays and brought
him back. But the Falcons, if they just get a
first down or just run the ball, maybe that doesn't happen.
And so it remains to be seen. I'm not too sure.
I believe they're gonna lose Sunday against the coach. I
don't think they'll beat I don't think they'll beat the
coats um. But it remains to be seen. Nick Foles is, Ah,
(22:44):
when you win a Super Bowl, you get m VP,
and once you get taken out the lineup and it's
supposed that franchise quarterback we're talking Corston went and says
he can't win a game and he's under five since
you won her Super Bowl, man, Nick Folds can play. Okay,
what's is Carson Wentz fixable? No? No, no? Is he? Well,
(23:06):
everybody's fixable, Doug, let me not say that everybody's fixable.
But do I think he will get it fixed up?
I don't think so. I don't know what's going on
with Carson Wentz. You just look back and three or
four years ago he was one of the better young
quarterbacks in the league, destined for greatness, and he What
is going on in Philly? I have no idea. You
(23:27):
you look at the roster and you say, offensive line
is solid even with the injuries, they're playing well. You
got a good run game the Shawan Jackson, even though
he will miss this Sunday, he's been playing your receivers.
They're not awful. It's Carson Wentz missing throws. It's on
(23:47):
him as a quarterback. He's not under pressure. He's missing
throws and so that's on him to get it fixed.
And if he doesn't get it fixed, Uh, he'll be
out the league quick. Now, can you get it fixed?
I'll say, I'll give him the benefit of Dowt to
say yeah, But I'm not very optimistic to be honest
with you. Um, how is it a confidence thing? Is it? Like? What?
(24:08):
What's what's missing? I believe it's it's a confidence thing
men mentally, some suspecting them mentally. Um, you've gotta understand
when Nick Foles win the Super Bowl and then you
get hurt again and Nick Foles goes in there and
play as well. Can you be trying to live up
to what Nick Foles has done? Can you be trying
(24:29):
to do too much instead of just letting the game
come to you. I don't know what he's thinking, but
from the outside looking in, it's looking like something mentally
has affected him. Because you're not an m VP front
runner and you tear then you come back and all
of a sudden you're completely different players. So to me,
(24:50):
that's mental. Yeah, And I think I think it's mental.
I think you've seen a little bit of ghosts. I
think he's forcing some things. I think there's a little
Superman complex in him. But what about Lamar Jackson? Um,
you know, obviously they some of it was they stopped
running the football. Some of it was their inability to
run the football and they got behind. I've often thought
(25:11):
that looked at like this is the ceiling that he's
improved as a passer, But he's just not a spread
them out and let me let me go. Uh, Pat Mahomes,
what do you see in terms of Lamar Jackson and
his struggles going back to Monday Night? Yeah, he's not that.
And it goes back to what you said. If if
you look at Kansas City's first two games, I was
(25:33):
one that thought Baltimore was gonna win that game rather
easily because Houston they played the band but don't break
defense and they kind of kept Kansas City and check
the following weekie Herbert statistically outplayed Patrick Mahomes his first
start in and that's that they probably could have won
(25:54):
that game. We're talking the charges against the Chiefs and
so going into this game in the way Baltimore had
just annih Lady Cleveland and Houston, it's like Baltimore's gonna
kill Kansas City because you looked at how both teams
were playing. They got aggressive agenstively we're talking to raven
and the Chiefs exploited it. They got behind and the
Ravens could never they could never make that play and
(26:18):
put them back into the game. I mean, you look
at Baltimore. They wont If Mark Andrews catches a couple
of those balls, is it a different ball game. Probably, Um,
it didn't happen. But no, Lamar is never gonna be
that quarterback in my opinion where you feel comfortable having
him throw the ball forty to fifty times. But what
he does is so great that it doesn't matter. And
(26:41):
at least in my opinion, he's a winner. He just
hasn't found a way to be the Chiefs. Yeah, well,
he has found a way to be the chiefs or
or teams that that can contain what they try and
do running the football, and when they get behind, that's
what when it's been really, really difficult. T Joshman's out
our guest on the dug Otlive Show on Fox Sports Radio.
(27:02):
How what you're feeling on what the Bills have been
able to do this year surprised a lot of people,
especially with the quarterback who so many people thought was
wildly and accurate coming out of college. And the Bills
are dude. Sean McDermott is widely underrated as one of
the better coaches in the league because when you say
the best coaches, his name never really gets brought up.
(27:23):
And he's changed the culture of the Bills. They haven't
had this type of promise since Jim Kelly and you
you look last year, I mean when when Rex was there.
They might have been exciting because of the press conference,
but as far as it's they are good on defense,
and last year their offense was somewhat of their Achilles hill.
(27:44):
Let's just keep the game close and hope our defense
can win in our offense can make a player too.
Now it's kind of reversed and they're both complimenting each other,
and it's what you said. Josh Allen is leading that
and I believe he has a bona fide number one
in Stefanas And when you have that, that's security. Blanket off.
I get man to man, I'm going here, and if
(28:05):
I don't get man the man, that means they're doubling him.
So somebody else has man, and man makes things a
lot easier for him. Coverage Rice to read. Um, he's
getting the job done. He's a big boy that can
run the ball and swinging. And McDermott has a defense
him Unlessie Fraser had a defense playing great Yeah, Uh,
t J, great stuff, Man awesome, Thanks so much for
joining us. Let's catch up in person very very soon.
(28:27):
And uh thanks again for being our guest on Fox
Sports Radio. I appreciate it, Douggy. Keep up the great work, brother.
That's that's a man. T J. Hush Manzata, who I
believe will be at the Lakers victory parade. And he's
a big he's he's he's a big Laker fan music.
Are you gonna watch tonight? We talked about this earlier
in the week. Are you gonna even watch the Laker game? Tonight.
I will be watching it. You know, usually during the week,
(28:50):
if we're cooking dinner, doing things like that, I will
record it so I can make sure I can watch
every minute of the game. As you had mentioned, this
will be a gay We'll just be running live sort
of in the background because I don't expect it to
be very close. That's Ryan Music Kids. A big changes
coming to the NFL schedule. I'll share them with the next.

(29:38):
Just just a heads up the White House saying they're
going to take President Trump to UH Walter Reed Medical
Center to UH just for the fter the coronavirus test
out of an abundance of caution. UH. This was a
breaking news story where the baseball game between the Marlins
and Cubs was actually moved off of ABC because of
(29:59):
the breaking new and then moved back over to ESPN
and uh so, yeah, I just wanted to fill that
uh part in. But speaking of the Marlins and Cubs,
the Cubs are headed for hibernation and he swings. It's
a high fly ball long way deep to left at
the walls. Shober, goodbye, Garrett Cooper. A lucky seventh inning
(30:22):
again for the Marlins. Garrett Cooper breaks the scoreless tie.
It's one nothing, Miami. That to the Marlins radio network.
Marlin's eliminate the Cubs by winning Game two today to
to nothing. Marlin's get the Braves in the nld S
starting Tuesday in Houston. UM. I don't know this is
(30:42):
interesting to you, but like Miami clearly has talent right,
and I mean the tanking works. It just works. It
doesn't mean you're gon absolutely gonn win a World Series.
But we saw Houston do it and it worked. We're
watching Miami do it and it's quite obviously worked. Doesn't
make them the best team in baseball, but they tore
everything down and rebuilt it from the round up in
(31:04):
the thirty one and twenty nine this year. But they
have some talent, even with some injuries. Like you know,
Starley Marte is hurt and they're paying a lot less
for the same or better results. Like it works. And again,
the Marlins have never lost a playoff series. Yeah, this
is the third time they've been in the playoffs. The
(31:25):
first two times they've won the World Series. Alright. Moving
on to the NBA Tonight, Game two of the Finals,
Lakers and Heat nine o'clock Eastern Time. While Goren, Drag
and Bam at a bio are considered doubtful, WoDES reports
that Bam is not going to play because of his
next strain. Jimmy Butler basically said, you can guarantee it,
but he said, yeah, we're gonna YadA, YadA, YadA, we're
gonna win. I never make a big deal of those
(31:49):
things because I've never met a professional athlete or you know,
a collegian athlete. Didn't they think they're gonna win every game?
Right now, we're gonna lose. I don't know what we're
playing this one. Yeah, this thing's over on You got
is still here? Must go home now, I'd leave the bubble.
Far were you get out of here? The Clippers assistant
Tyler a busy man this weekend. So while while I'm
(32:12):
grilling and John is at your son's baseball game. Over
the weekends, Tyler will be visiting with the Pelicans today,
Clippers on Saturday, Rockets on Sunday. According to Chris Haynes
of Yahoo Sports, m okay um is now's he doing
on zoom? Or is he doing in person? Doing it
in person? Laker or the excuse me? The Clippers meeting
(32:34):
is on Saturday in l A after meeting with the
Pelicans today, and the meeting with the Rockets is in
Vegas on Sunday. Yeah, I'm gonna go to shoot some
the dice, you know, go see a Britney Spears show.
Speaking of Vegas, the Golden Nights unveiled a third jersey today.
You and I like to talk uniforms. It's a like
(32:56):
a shimmering gold it. Actually, I think it's pretty unique,
better than their bland gray ones that they have, but
they yeah, it's uh. I think it's kind of catchy.
It's kind of catchy. It's yeah, those tunes these kids
you'll see it. You'll I'm a Golden Knight's Golden third
like alternate uniform. Turn it how he's faulternate us. All right,
(33:19):
here we go. There we popped up. Uh, it's like
a mustard gold right, Yeah, but hasn't that kind of
long awaited? Yeah? I like it. Yeah, I don't think
it's at all. No, how about at all? Yeah? Alright,
Now onto the NFL. Why they had a little red stripe.
What's the red stripe for it? I mean it's kind
of cool that does pop out. I like those gray
(33:41):
ones that they have, but ahead, I'm like the gray.
I'm not a fan of those. I like, I'm a
gray is my favorite color. It's not really a color,
but Roger, Uh, the post is gray. You know that
the postponed sweet it's cloudy and overcast there. That's true,
that's true. The postponed Steelers Titans game from this weekend
will be played in weeks seven on October. A few
(34:05):
changes needed to be made. The Ravens had their by
moved up a week from Week eight to week seven,
so the Steelers and Ravens could then play Week eight
that's Sunday, November one. But the makeup game is now.
It's now on or in the books are on the
books if you will dug Steelers Titans Week seven seven. Uh, okay,
I mean the way they played the Ravens play the
(34:26):
Steelers win. They were supposed to play them on week seven,
but now they're gonna play them week eight. So the
Ravens had to do some minor adjusting where their by
was moved. Yeah, that okay, but that makes it really
hard for the Steelers. Mean you played those two Those
are two physical games back to back. I mean, whatever,
it had to be done, it had to be done.
People got to be safe. So I get it, But
(34:49):
that that does that Those are a couple of physical
games back to back. You were just talking with t J.
Hushman Zata about it. But Michael Thomas has been ruled
out for the Saints against the Lions on Sunday. Uh,
like the Lions, I'm gonna take the lines take you
can add that to my pick. So I have six picks.
That's a bonus sixth pick. My bonus sixth pick, bonus
sixth pick. On the Gottlieb show of Vikings defensive end
(35:13):
of Neil Hunter, according to ESPN, has a cervical spine
discarniation and could be out another month. According to the report,
Vikings haven't said anything about it. Give me the Texans
is another pick, a seventh pick, and finally, the San
Francisco forty Niners finally have some good news with injuries.
Sunday night. They're gonna take on the Eagles. They'll get
George Kittle back from his knee injury and Deebo Samuel
(35:35):
makes his season debut. But it'll be Nick Mullins again
as Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out at quarterback, where
he mos Stert still out as well for the Forts
as they take on the You had three carries last
last week and they find a way to get get
the ball to guys. He's such a good play caller.
He's so good and uh, that's the press. Get out
(35:56):
there and press the press. The question is not what
the Lakers win, but we'll the Lakers win by enough points?
Buy or what do you think in terms of the
points on tonight's NBA game, it's a ten point spread
for the Lakers. Give me the give me the give
me the heat. Yeah to cover, Lakers to win, Heat
to cover. I like the Lakers, Yes, ten like ten
(36:19):
seconds left on the show. It's got a minute left. Music,
my music you got, I'm gonna take the Lakers to back.
It's it's just gonna background music. To music because he'll
be drinking wine and he'll be you know, doing doing
the thing that's smelling the wine thing, smelling it, yes,
smelling the kid. But now there's a minute. Oh no,
(36:42):
how about our our clocks changing? Download the new, all
new All Ball to drop tomorrow with John Roste and
got some commentary for you there on Kyrie Irving uh
my thanks to John. Ten seconds left, ten seconds left
in the show. Enjoy this weekend, as Buyer pointed out,
last one before Big Boy Football starts back up. Although
(37:03):
we get sec Stull Gotlieb Show
