Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, you want experience during your football season, We'll buckle up,
sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Bayer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
To starts and sits.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Week two is here in the National Football League. Hit
Mike up at Swollen Dome. You can find me at
Dan Bayer on Fox. All right, we're gonna get to
the to the rankings and the hot plays and everything
that comes with it for the games coming up. We
do have to just spend a couple of minutes to,
if you will, on what happened on Thursday night, might hit.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Between the Dolphins and Bills.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Maybe overplay because I think I said it three times
to you guys prior to the start of the podcast.
Oh that's a good mind though I figured i'd use
it here, but in our two up minute warning, if
you will, the Dolphins side of things is crazy. You
look at it Thursday night more of a Bill's conversation
that I don't think anybody else is really having.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Yeah, I mean, look, obviously, you know, like the Bills
players themselves in the post game, you know, all thoughts
are with Tua for a quick recovery back on the field,
but for his life and everything else. The other side
is everybody was quick to write off the Buffalo Bills
coming into the season, and they just went out and
sledge hammered the Dolphins on both sides right from a

(01:35):
defensive standpoint, making Tua uncomfortable. The offensive line got pushed
around that of the Dolphins. Tua had an interception return
for a touchdown that might have been as bad as
Will Levis's in Week one against the Bears.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, which I dare say it, you.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Know, thinking that you had enough arm strength to throw
it away, and well it didn't. At that point, just
take the sack. Nobody cares about your damn quarterback grating.
But either way or lay down right, give yourself up.
They just touch you. You don't have to take a hit. Likewise,
you know the play on which he got injured. You
know you're you probably Dan and Ian certainly I was
in the studio yelling slide just slide. But now you

(02:17):
worry about that. But from the Bills side of things,
they played efficient basketball. Gotta spreading the ball just like
you would as a basketball point guard. But you know,
and Josh Allen was quick to point that out, everybody
does their role. Everybody blocks, everybody blocks downfield, even just
waving at Stefon Diggs the entire time. So you didn't
get the massive fantasy numbers. But for James Cook, and

(02:39):
even then after the first half, you're salivating, thinking, all right,
if it's a game, we're gonna get some fireworks whatever
the under comes in and the offense goes into shut down,
just grind it out and get out of their mode.
But James Cook's going to be a guy that you know,
we've loved him here on the podcast the last couple
of years. Now he's going to be vying to be,
you know, a top three running back in the game,

(03:00):
especially with every question going on with Christian McCaffrey. But
you for Josh Allen, after the huge four touchdown Week one,
to be able to do it here so efficiently, quietly,
with the run game in effect and the defense playing well.
Fear that you might have some smaller fantasy lines that
come up his way. Although Buffalo losing defenders left and right,

(03:25):
I think another guy just got hurt while I was
saying that.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Well, the Miami defense is actually a part of the
conversation that no one talks about. So on the Dolphins
side of things, we talk about to we talk about
their offense.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
The way that Mike.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
McDaniel runs things in Miami. I don't think it is awful.
I just don't think that it necessarily works there. I
would just try to copy what Kyle Shanahan did, considering
that's where he came from. And what they do is
they do have a running game like Miami does.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
They for surely do.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
And we can see how brock Party works with the
receivers in San Francisco. But we saw with Jordan Mason
in Week one and obviously previously with Christian McCaffrey how
good that running game works. But the forty nine ers
defense is also one that's formidable.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
And I know Bradley Chubb isn't there, but there are
a lot of big names on the Dolphins defense, and
I just don't know if offense and defense and defense
are working in concert with each other. There is you know,
Vic Fangio is no longer in Miami. That didn't seem
to work much last year. I just don't know how
it's not working. But I think Thursday night, even before

(04:37):
Tua went out, it was just a clear indication that
this wasn't a team that will legitimately contend. They may
be a playoff team because they'll be able to score
points and beat other squads, but by no means do
they show in the first two weeks of the season
that they deserve to be anywhere near the top Echelona
the National Football League. And now you don't have your
quarterback for who knows how long, maybe even the season,

(05:00):
we don't know. Yeah, just an awful night for the
Miami Delphis.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah all the way around.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
You mentioned the defense, and that was one of the
reasons when I was looking at the forty nine and
a half total, like a lot of questions in that
back seven, and then they got pushed around up front
as well, And that was the thing for me on
both sides, right, Buffalo, even with more attrition. Defensively, they
did a really good job because well the defend this
secondary didn't get tested because two didn't have time to

(05:27):
set up and throw right. Nature had had himself a
fantastic game for a guy that you know, I was
getting a bunch of questions coming up to kickoff.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Going what do I do with them?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
And I think I got him versus about nine different
running backs. McCaffrey's name kept coming up a bunch, But
just do I play him? I was like, he declared
himself in and put up the graphic, So I think
he's feeling like he's gonna give you as much as
he can. And fortunately you get the touchdown, you go
near to one hundred rushing yards. But yeah, even with

(05:58):
that gift of the effort he gave, you know, there
was no continuity on that side, and defensively they just
got run over. So McDaniel's in for a rough season.
Skylar Thompson, welcome to it. You know, I tracked the
secondary trading market while things are going on, Well, Skylar
Thompson rookie cards we're selling very briskly after his insertion

(06:19):
into the game.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I had no idea there was such a market, no idea.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Immediately folks are like, well, he's going to be throwing
to Tua and waddles. Sure, so you know, maybe he
can show something enough, whether it's here in Miami or
somewhere else, that he becomes a viable quarterback so immediately,
like a penny stock that suddenly has some value, you know,
a little game stock, game stop manipulation or something.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Here we go, speaking of stock, who are the hottest
stocks for Mike Harmon's rankings. Let's get to it. Hit
him up at Swollendome. You can find me at Dan
Byron Fox. Our executive producer is Ian Roddy. He'll join
us later in the show for a streaming d defense
of Week two of the National Football League. He already
hit on the Bears for Week one. We'll see what

(07:05):
he's got. You can find him at Ian Roddy Underscore.
Let's get to the quarterback rankings. Mike's top five quarterbacks
for Week two of the National Football League season.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Been off a long time. Remember the effort Jalen Hurts
put up week one. It was two seventy eight, two
and two, going up against Atlanta, looking for that Philadelphia
offense to pick up where they left off, giving us
some big moments, big plays, and Hurts making it happen
with his legs as well. He leads our rankings. Number
two Anthony Richardson, Yeah, that's right. I'll buy in against

(07:35):
Green Bay because I think they'll be able to contain
the green Bay offense here and give him advantageous field position.
Not to mention, he's got a cannon of an arm.
I don't know if you remember that. Dan just Alex
Perris punt check and then he'd run down and catch it.
Only nine completions in week one, Yeah, but you know what,
two hundred and twelve yards, two scores. He's going to
make some plays with his legs while he's upright and

(07:58):
making plays happen.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
We'll get him in.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Patrick Mahomes coming in third against Cincinnati. It's well chronicled
Zach Taylor's team don't get off the mat until October first.
They won't do it again here as Kansas City again
off a bit of a layoff, and you're seeing a
more robust offense able to make it work. Number four
Lamar Jackson going up against Las Vegas. I declared that
he might actually lead the league in rushing when it's

(08:21):
all said and done. The way the running back position
shakes out here, look for an opportunity here as long
as he can avoid Max Crosby and company. But it'll
be curious to see if Baltimore's offensive line can handle
the pass rush as well as the Chargers rookie did
in Week one. Gotta give alt some credit. And then
finally Jayden Daniels. I don't think he's gonna pass for

(08:43):
a lot of yards, only one hundred and eighty four
in his first game. But again, let's use the legs.
Let's make some plays rounding it out. Just to give
you a couple of bonus picks. You've got Kyler Murray
going up against the Rams, a beleaguered Rams squad, and
then Jared Goff going up against Tampa. Look for bigger
numbers than you saw in that opener.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I just want to tell the Cincinnati Bengals and Cam
Taylor Britt just shut up. You don't need to keep
talking with the Kansas City Chiefs. They've got the rings.
It may be Burrowhead and whatever you want, and Z
if you're worthy, yeah, he may just be whatever. Just
stop giving them ammunition. It is a great rivalry, Mike,

(09:21):
I absolutely love it, but it just seems to me
it's playing into at least this season, Bengals have bigger
fish to Fry.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
They're worried about contracts. They're worried about this and that.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Tee Higgins is talking to ESPN saying, my injuries, not
about my contract. Cam Taylor BRIT's talking trash about a
Chiefs rookie. All right, let's just focus on football Cincinnati
maybe October first. He said that'll cover around. But my goodness,
they're like adhd right, oh.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
No, why it's a mess. Yeah, there's so many things
going on Taylor. I think the latest stat is he's
one to ten in the first two weeks of the season. Jeez,
they got that going on for you and eventually and
Joe Burrow, I don't know about water Bottle Gait.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
He didn't look right in week one, did he? I
didn't think he looked one hundred percent comfortable in what
he was doing. And Jamar Chase, how in.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Is he correct?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Right?

Speaker 5 (10:15):
There's just so much swirling and week two you get
the Chiefs. No thank you after getting run over by
the Patriots in week one.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
James Cook maybe tough to the top of the running
back market in week two, but we'll try to who
else are your top running backs?

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Mike for the upcoming weekend.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
Number one, and it pains me to do it. Whenever
I extole the virtues of a New York Football Jets offense,
it pains me because I got to hear about it
from my guys. Smith turn we could even eat Ian
there is you know, always got his Jets Jets Jack.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Ian's not annoying about it though right now.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yet he's still young, Yes, he's he's still new here.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
I've had to deal with Smith for a decade plus
and years before I worked with him, So Ian, you
got a lot of catch it up to do.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Hopefully we're just still doing this a decade from now.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
But Ambiy Breese Haall going up against Tennessee only fifty
yards in the opener against the forty nine ers, look
for bigger days and potential for a jail break or
to Aaron Rodgers shook off the rust. Seem pretty comfortable
coming out of Week one, and maybe some of their yapping,
like you say with the Bengals, Dan, maybe after week
one some of that'll stop and they'll just get back
to playing football. I'm not gonna bet on it, but

(11:21):
maybe we will. Number two Sakuon Barkley going up against Atlanta.
So long as he's ready to roll. You're looking at
twenty five to thirty touches. You're not getting some of
the nonsensical splits. Yeah, he'll have to come out and
take a breath of fresh air once in a while,
water break and catch his breath after running through guys.
But for now as a runner and receiver a few
better and Atlanta is a team that this is an

(11:43):
interesting spot. See how they get off the mat after
being dominated and pushed around by Pittsburgh. Number three Kyron
Williams going up against Arizona. Pretty quiet game for him
week one in that battle against Detroit, but looking for
bigger things against era Zona as they head out there,
Look he again, if I'm going to get twenty one touches,

(12:06):
I'm feeling pretty good at Sean McVay is going to
give him some opportunities to make the place. Isaiah Pacheco
going up against Cincinnati. He gave you seventy eight total
yards on seventeen touches in the open against Baltimore. Look
for big things from him and finally, finally, Yeah, Jonathan
Taylor let us down last week, just forty eight rushing yards.

(12:26):
You probably bet the over because it was seventy eight
on a guy that had been running over Houston. Well,
not a lot of opportunity, a lot, not a lot
of daylight, but he finds some here, so we get
him in near missus James Connor and Josh Jacobs. Why
because Green Bay has got to find something and maybe
the run game gives them a little bit of hope.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Balance, I'll tell you what was Jonathan Taylor at number five?
It really puts the spotlight on Jeff Hafley's defense, only
his second game as their defensive coordinator coming over from
Boston College. I'm obviously familiar with what he did for
a couple of seasons at Ohio State, but this is
his opportunity to turn this around. And now the Green
Bay needs their defense. We thought they were a Super

(13:08):
Bowl contender because of their offense and pieces that they
had on defense. The last couple of years, defense never
really held up their bargain, whether it be injuries or whatnot.
Now with the injury to Jordan Love, it's time to
hold up your end of the bargain. So Jeff Hafley's
defense in the crosshairs of the Colts this week, but
also under the microscope for us looking at football in fantasy.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Football, Can you stop the big plays because that looks
like what the Colts are going to be?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (13:36):
Right, so, and once you give one up, can you
stop the bleeding? Because the thing with Green Bay Day
in the last couple of years is we've talked about
on the podcast a lot. You'd have some pretty good
points allowed games right where you didn't you know, bend,
don't break kind of thing. But they never could force
the turnover to get them out of harm's way. So
we'll see if that becomes a hallmark of this squad.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
You know, half the defense's first rounders, they should perform better.
All right, let's get to the wide receivers, your top
pass catches for Week two in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
Well, we got to start with Cooper Cup going up
against Arizona. Why last man standing kind of opportunity, and
you saw what he and Stafford were able to do.
They got the old connection Pooka Nakua, much to the
chagrin of fantasy owners ir And now it's the wishing
and hoping, lighting candles and saying prayers that it's only
a four week injury instead of something more substantive number

(14:26):
two age. I'm on raw Saint Brown almost confused him
with another guy that's a little later on the list.
But quiet game week one, just three catches for thirteen
yards going up against Tampa Bay. Spread the ball around,
and I think Jameson williams emergence in week one is
actually the best thing that could happen for Saint Brown.
Maybe a little bit softer coverage with the big play

(14:49):
possibilities that Williams bringing number three, Mike Evans number four,
Ceedee Lamb, both with five catches sixty one yards, Evans
with the two touchdown catches, Ceedee Lamb in that laugher
in week one over Cleveland, didn't really need to do
a whole hell of a lot. As that game wore on,
it became all about oh kickers, hey, twenty one kicks
of at least fifty yards last week. As let's see

(15:11):
if we can top it in week two. Hopefully not
because that means more touchdowns and touchdown passes. But give
me Evans against Detroit. I think that game opens up
and we get ourselves a bit of a battle in
terms of the scoreboard up around the over under there,
which is at fifty one as we sit here and
record this podcast for CD Lamb and Dallas, just keep

(15:35):
feeding him and Brandon Cooks can stay healthy and become
a better number two, that me and Cdy may get
some opportunities to do some great things. And finally, Rashi
Rice going up against Cincinnati, we get the hat trick
for KC guys seven for oneh three. Look for him
to have another big day. And then aj Brown just

(15:55):
missed the list five catches one hundred nineteen in that
first game with a touchdown. Remember he was targeted on
that pass to the end zone, but because of the
terrible footing in Brazil, couldn't cut back and got undercut
by jay y R Alexander for an interception.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Well, I'm sure Aj Brown will not sulk for being
left out of your top five, or maybe he will.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Well, you know what, I just want to make sure
he stays happy for anybody who has shares in him.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
He's Mike Harmon, I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Those are Mike's top five rankings for the quarterbacks, running backs,
and wide receivers for Week two of the National Football
League season. We dig it a little deeper and later
on in the podcast, Not only do we have Ian
streaming defense. I give you up points of Loser and
points of Palooza and a survivor pick, but we also
have some interesting news about I want your flex that

(16:44):
you may want to keep in your back pocket comes
Sunday morning. All right, We're just gonna tease it that way.
He's Mike.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
I'm Dan.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Mike's hop plays Cold Source and Ninja's next year, and
I want your flex. All right, let's get it. The
guys outside of the top five the hot plays for
weeks two. He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Beyer. The show's
executive producer is Ian Roddy Mike. These guys may not
have made your top five, but they are worthy of
getting in your lineup this week. Who are your hot

(17:10):
plays for Week two?

Speaker 2 (17:11):
To get it out?

Speaker 5 (17:12):
A couple of quarterbacks to get us started. Baker Mayfield
coming off that two eighty nine and four, I think
folks are still on the on the fence of how
much they're going to trust Baker even after what he
did a year ago and then starting off as hot
as he did in the opener opportunity against Detroit this
one again high point total expected in the Vegas world

(17:35):
and all complimentary players there as well as a tool
headed backfield. We'll get to that a little bit later.
Brock Perdy didn't need to do much overall, right, the
old game manager and all that nonsense that they throw.
It's winning football, But we need him to win in fantasy.
So for this week we're going to get him in
against Minnesota. I think this one's a pretty good battle,

(17:55):
but an extra week of work with Brandon Ayuk and
getting the timing back and together, because remember that near
miss of that drop touchdown passed towards the corner of
the end zone that left Peyton Manning incensed and foaming
at the mouth. I don't think he's been that mad
since Mike Vanderjeck when he called him an idiot kicker.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Sure he was not happy, No, that was sulkiness. Blim
the holdout or excuse me, hold in in everything?

Speaker 5 (18:19):
Oh yeah, the quote hold in I love that that
we now have multiple.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Terms for it.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
Derek Henry referenced him a little bit earlier at thirteen
forty six, but he did find the end zone in
week one, going up against the Las Vegas we saw
what worked for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
A little bit of sledge habit all right. JK.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
Dobbins had two huge runs which counted for a lot
of the yardage. But either way, the fact that you
committed to bully ball up front, I think Baltimore gets
back to basics and we see some of that as well.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
How about a.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Guy that maybe you can either refute or add on,
little Zach Sharman. I in a flex possibility here with
Kenneth Walker the third missing practice on Thursday and being limited.
We saw Sharbonay get into the end zone with a
receiving touchdown in Week one total forty one total yards

(19:08):
on ten touches. I gotta think the touch count rises
here and gives us an opportunity in week two.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
He is a weapon that the Seahawks out that they
would have last year, but filled in well and scored
big for them late and that win against the second
half of their win against the Broncos. Yeah, it could
be a sneaky play. And for Kenneth Walker the third,
fans who have been not waiting for this breakout, but
we're excited about the Week one performance.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Kind of a bit of a.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Downer that he ended up getting the oblique injury and now, yeah,
you can't ride that momentum into week two. But if
you did handcuff him like I did last year, of
course I didn't this year.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Mike, Yeah, Bay Staff Sharboney.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Yeah, here it is opportunity knocks perhaps here in week two,
and I got two wide receivers for you. I think
the Giants are winning the game out right. Yeah, bold
prediction there, But scary Terry McLaurin is going to see
a target count, pile up some catches and yardage for
the Washington Commanders this week. And then I've got Marvin

(20:06):
Harrison Junior and also ran afterthought, just one catch four
yards in the opener.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yeah, I think he gets fed week two against the Rams.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
You'd have to think that they would do something, even
with some of the chatter this week, because you are
going to need him involved. Makes a lot of sense
to have him as a hot play, all right. Now,
let's go to the other side of things, the cold source,
the guys you don't want to see, you don't want
to touch, you don't want anything to do in week two,
Mike Cooley or cold source in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
Well, we talked a lot about Joe Burrow I want
no part of this this week. And look, he may
come out and throw three hundred yards and four scores,
he's gonna he would be on my bench, is all
I could say here against the matchup. It's not January,
it's not late December. It's the beginning of September. And
as of now, with all of the drama, as we
laid out in the first segment, Dan, it's just a

(20:55):
guy right now.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
He's no better than a.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
QB two right So if you're QB League, fine, if
you're playing a little bit of a daily fantasy thing
and you want to get him because the valuation is
going to be a little lower because of the matchup,
I wouldn't blame you because we know what can happen
if things click. But right now, did you see anything
in week one that would make you believe that was

(21:18):
going to click with Kansas City's pass rush flying around
and the secondary being better, No, I want no part
of it. Aaron Rodgers against Tennessee again, I gotta see it.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
I gotta see it.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
I got to see the mobility just because the like
folks will get fooled if they didn't watch that full game.
The first touchdown to Lazard happened because everybody quit thinking
they were going to blow the play dead because of
the unobated to the quarterback. Instead freebie touchdown Lazard and
eventually you would get the second one. So I got
to see it against Tennessee. I know he's light years

(21:50):
better than where Caleb Williams is right now, so certainly
not making that comparison, but Tennessee's got a defense that
flies around, and I gotta think that they can get
some pressure against that New York Football Jets offensive line.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
It's interesting too with the scheduling.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
I don't want to say quirk, but you have a
short week, you're on the road to start the season,
and you're making your way back across the country. I
don't think that's necessarily beneficial for the Jets. I think
they win this game. But to your point, you liked
Breis Hall, but not as high as Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Yeah, I'll take a little bit of a step back.
I think this is one that becomes a bit of
a slug fest, and it's the you know, we steal
from John Caliperi in this quote the succeed in proceed
It's ugly, but it's a win because the Jets have
the opportunity the next three games to do some damage
from the record standpoint for fantasy purposes, until Aaron Rodgers

(22:41):
is going to show me he's got a little bit
of lateral movement. Look the arm action is there? All
of that. We saw that throws to the sideline a
couple of opportunities. Wilson didn't. I thought he got his
feet down, but they ruled him in complete. That would
have been a nice twenty yard game whatever and confidence builder.
But until we see that start to click, you know, again,
back end QB one if you want to be you know,

(23:01):
force the issue. Otherwise at QB two, a couple of
running backs. Tony Pollard acquitted himself nicely against the Bears.
Well here against the Jets. I think they all got
challenged this last week because they got pushed around on
both sides of the ball by San Francisco. And again,
you know, top notch caliber opponent, super Bowl contender, all
of those things. That was what folks thought the Jets
were gonna be, and so the defensive line has to

(23:24):
come up here. Pollard ninety six total yards against Chicago.
I think he takes a step back. Everybody's all American.
Bijon Robinson one hundred and eleven total yards on twenty
three touches. Can I get the words out? Caffeine coursing
through my veins going up against the Philadelphia front. I'm
not buying it in this one again, an offense that
I think is still a wee bit broken and then

(23:45):
going going down.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
The road a little bit.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
I'm gonna just give you one wide receiver, justin Jefferson
against San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Back end on time back end one all right.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Still, I mean he's still gonna start two wide receivers
at a minimum. But this is one where you really
needed with a fine tooth comb, look at your flex position,
look at your tight end position. Hell, look at your kicker.
If they don't have a super toe effect of being
able to kick a fifty yard field goal, they shouldn't
be in your lineup this week. You need everything point
you get because Jefferson gets cuffed by.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
The interesting thing about the Pollard situation is there's even
talk after the game of Pollard got too much, you
got to get Ty j Spears more. He only had
four carries Pollard at sixteen. I think they both had
the same number of targets out of the backfield, each
had four. I think Pollard had three catches and Spears
had four. Actually, shouldn't say. I think it's right in

(24:42):
front of my face. It was. He did have three catches,
Spears had four, but both had four targets.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
So you're right.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
I think it's going to even out a little bit
in Tennessee in the backfield come this weekend.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
That was a guy that was showing up in my
timeline of asks about the running back position in addition
to the ah chan And should I trust him or not?
Is how quickly Spears ramps up his production and availability
here for Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
All right, let's get to the Ninjas, the sneaky plays
for week two.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
All right, let's go a little deep.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
We'll start at wide receiver eleven targets week one, Molik
Neighbors with a knee injury for the Giants. How about
Wandale Robinson eleven targets and going up against Washington. Look,
I don't need him to be thirty yards downfield.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Dan.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
If we can get six receptions for forty yards, we
did our job.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
That's all I need. I need ten out of the
Ninja spot.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
He's been.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
He's been one of those giants wide receivers throughout the
years that when you get in the second half of
the year, you're like, gosh, I don't have I don't
have anybody to play. I picked up Wandale Robinson. Now
you're counting on him in week two.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Week two, baby, let's roll week Week two.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Hey, let's do it.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
You know, injuries and craziness, right, We've got a lot
of wide receivers that are out or maybe you don't
trust right now. So at the wide receiver three position, hey,
maybe maybe you get a little bit crazy. And again
daily Fantasy, we're looking for opportunities and where do you
win those contests? Finding a guy laying in the weeds
that comes out of nowhere. No captain obvious picks here,

(26:17):
which means Josh Downs back in practice going up against
Green Bay. Yeah, Alec Pierce had the glory touches in
week one and he could run some wind sprints this
week for Anthony Richardson, Josh Downs gets back in the
mix and gives us a solid game as a third
wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Jerry Judy, Do I love him?

Speaker 4 (26:34):
No?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Do I love Deshaun Watson's quarterbacking. No do I love
anything else going on with him or the team as
a whole, No, not so much. But against the Jacksonville defense,
we did see big plays didn't see. You'll get the
pass rush and you'll mute a lot of the stuff,
but what we saw against Miami. And again not comparing
him one to one with with Hill or Waddell, that's

(26:55):
just foolhardy. But there is opportunity in that Jacksonville secondary.
I think he finds the zone for the second straight week.
Go to Cleveland and pe Well, we'll stay in Cleveland.
Go to Cleveland, stay in Cleveland. Back up Pierre Strong Again,
strange bedfellows when we start talking about the back end
of the running back position. Looking for touches and targets

(27:15):
and opportunity here Jerome Ford, you know how much I
love him, But seeding some in the passing game, and
they'll need it to back off that pass rush. Getting
a little bit creative. Trevor Lawrence also gets a mix
in the mix as well. I think you know a
sneaky QB two kind of option justin Herbert. The focus

(27:36):
is obviously defense in the run game, trying to emulate
the Harbor Brothers Harbaugh kind of a mind meld situation.
But Herbert got that first game under his belt, which
means I think they open things up a little bit
more with the wide receiving cores and then we get
some activity there. Last two, we'll go a couple of
tight ends just for fun. A Conquo going up against

(27:56):
the Jets, touchdown a Week one against the Bears, not
looking for a huge reception or yardage total, but completely
a red zone play here and a safety valve for
Will Levis. And then Parkinson going up against Arizona four
catches out of five targets forty seven in Week one.
Look for him to stay a big part of the

(28:17):
pass game here alongside Cooper cup.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
All right, last bit of information before Ian and I
try to take a little bit off your plate.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
But what do you do in the San Francisco situation?

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Obviously, if McCaffrey doesn't play, you're playing Jordan Mason. If
you're handcuffed them, great, If not, you have to plan accordingly.
What do you do if Christian McCaffrey does go on Sunday?
What do you do with Mason? What do you do
with CMC?

Speaker 5 (28:43):
I think Mason still for me, is going to be
an RB two because I think he's still going to
see the ball ten times. Okay, right, I think McCaffrey.
If McCaffrey goes and obviously at Swollendome on Twitter, I'll
be up and around in mobile ahead of kickoff to
answer the six star questions. But McCaffrey gets cleared, Sure,

(29:03):
I mean, you have to play him when he's available,
but I gotta think he would be on a bit
of a touch restriction, especially after what Mason did in
Week one against the Jets defense again that everybody was
expecting to have some teeth. That offensive line for San
Francisco did so well. So I think Mason's an RB
two for me, regardless of McCaffrey's status.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
All right, there it is, Mike Carmon's hot plays, gold Sores, Ninjas,
and some gold nuggets about the forty nine ers sprinkled
in as well. Hit him up at swollen Dome. You
can find me at dan Byer on Fox. Coming up next?
What defense you need to stream? Who's your best survivor?
Pick plus are? I want your flex tidbit that we're

(29:46):
excited about, but we don't want to Jinx.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
All right, that's next year and I want your flex.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Now it's time for Mike Carmon to seed some of
the power to Ian Roddy, our executive producer at myself,
Dan Byer, it is I want your f like find
Ian on ex at Ian Roddy Underscore, get Mike, get
swelldon know him. You can find me at Dan Byer
on Fox. Ian the flora is yours when it comes
to streaming defenses for week two.

Speaker 6 (30:11):
So this week's streaming defense, we're gonna I brought two
to the table here.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
So right, all right, now let's go.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Heay after your bears pick last week. You know you
can do whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Ye exactly.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
Now, Hey, I'm taking multiple bites at the Apple this time.
I guess. So Eagles is my first team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN, they're only rostered in about nineteen percent
of leagues, so majority of listeners, they should be out
there for you. They're playing the Atlanta Falcons. That's important
to me because Jalen Carter versus Kirk Cousins. I think

(30:43):
Kirk Cousins in week one looked like a statue. He
couldn't move in the pocket. And Jalen Carter is an
interior penetrator and I'm expecting him to be in Kirk
cousins lap often, and that being the case, Kirk Cousins
is going to be uncomfortable and that's going to call
a bad game for him. And then the Eagle secondary,

(31:03):
they've got talent there.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Quinyon Mitchell, I would say this, You could say Kirk
Cousins at night and Mike.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
I know it's not fair.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
The prime and I know he's kind of changed his
spots a little bit, but I think that would even
be enough for people to be like, all right, yeah,
I'll play the Eagles on Monday Night.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
We've heard that before. There's no question about it. Primetime thirty,
Primetime Kirks.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
He still has about a sixty seven percent completion rate,
but the wins, losses, and turnovers are certainly there.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
And then the other defense I wanted to talk about
was Indy Indianapolis. They're playing green Bay and this is
solely targeting Malik Willis. With Jordan Love out for the
next few weeks, I'm week over week going to be
looking at who's playing the Green Bay Packers. That's not
to say that every week that's going to be my
streaming defense. But when there's a guy who we know

(31:51):
is not a good NFL quarterback at least as of
right now, I'm going to be targeting the defense that's
playing him every week. So that's yeah, Philadelphia Eagle and
Indianapolis Cults this week.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
All right. I like that.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
I've got a couple of different picks for Survivor picks,
and again i'll if I change.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
If I changed my.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Pick like I did last week, we'll figure out something
to rearrange it. I gave you the sleeper pick of Seattle,
which really wasn't a sleeper pick. They were still a
top three in a lot of Survivor pools they won.
People were burned by the Bengals last week. They were
burned by the New England Patriots beating the Cincinnati Bengals.
And guys, my sleeper pick is the Patriots this week,

(32:33):
look at you, and it's against my Seahawks cross country
trip one o'clock Eastern time start. You mentioned Kenneth Walker
not practicing on Thursday. Even if he plays, he could
be banged up a little bit. The Seahawks offense did
not look in sync on Sunday they ended up grinding
out of victory, and I think that's exactly how New

(32:54):
England wants to play. Curious to see Christian Gonzales now
against DK metcalf see DK being silenced for the second
straight week. Interesting match up here over unders not even
above forty mic. I know you've already got your eye
on that one.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Yeah, but I.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Would take the Patriots in that home situation to try
to carry the momentum in winning an ugly game against
the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
But if it's too.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Early of the season for you to, you know, put
your balls on the line, let's put it that way.
Let's let's just take the chalk and take the Ravens.
What better way back home? You know they're mad, They've
got extra rest. Raiders were on the road last week.
Now they got to go across country again. Early kickoff
one o'clock Eastern time. It's all there for the Ravens.

(33:40):
If you want the cakewalk and you want the easy win,
take the Ravens of the survivor ports see.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
I love them both.

Speaker 5 (33:46):
And you know it wasn't going to start banging the
drum on the Patriots thing. You know, I didn't want
to go after your Seattle that's right, but I actually
have already taken them plus three sure eight and a
half the toll. We got a lot of games that
are down at round forty or just north of forty.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
I mean Pittsburgh Denvers thirty six and a half.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Dan.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
That's not good.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
That's not good A watch.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Yeah, it's a Boswell kind of day, Boswellian universe.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
But yeah, the Ravens minus date against the Raiders. You
even had some.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Raiders beat reporters talking about how Minshew's gonna get beaten
like a drum by Rokwan Smith and the Ravens front.
So yeah, Raven's minus date. I like both those a lot.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
I'm gonna make one other note about Seahawks Patriots Ian, what.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Year were you born?

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Two thousand?

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Holy crap.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
I was ready for him to say nineteen something, but
this he's even gonna no.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
He just punched us both in the face.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
So if it makes you feel any better, January second,
two thousand, So right, right.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Hey, Capricar, just like me?

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Perfect, all right, but two days in still still stings.
But two thousand. In nineteen ninety two, the Seattle Seahawks
went to New England and took out the Patriots in
a big ten to six win, only one of two
wins for the Seahawks that season. Unfortunately, the loss to

(35:21):
the Patriots also allowed them to not get their The
wins against the Patriots allowed them to not get the
number one overall pick, which was drew bledsoe Seahawks ended
up settling for Rick Myer and the rest was history.
But I remember that game, Mike Carmon, that ten to
six blood bath of the Seahawks taking on the Patriots.
You're gonna hear a lot of stupid stuff about Super

(35:43):
Bowl forty nine. Nobody cares about that anymore. Just remember
nineteen ninety two Seahawks ten Patriots six. A Chris Warren
touchdown run basically set the scene for the Seahawks and
changed both franchises dramatically forever.

Speaker 5 (36:01):
Note to self, stack up Warren cards four games.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Chris Warren was good. He was the only thing that
they had. Yes, he was.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
I'm looking at his nineteen ninety six tops thousand yard
club right now.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Who would have thought the Patriots were two and fourteen
that season as well? But New England got the number
one overall pick for getting that loss to Seattle at
Week three of the season, and yes, there it is.
The Seahawks ended up getting Rick Myracy. If the Seahawks
lose that game, they're all one win team. They don't
have to worry about anything. But yeah, it didn't happen,

(36:39):
and New England got Drew Bledsoe took him to a
super Bowl before he ended up being ousted in the
starting line up by Tom Brady. A little bit of
history for you. Who cares about that stupid interception at
the one yard line that we'll see replayed.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Nineteen times on Sunday. Let's just forget about that, all right.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Moving on, I don't want to talk about Malcolm Butler
or Marshawn Lynchtock getting the football, none of that style
for Belichick, not calling timeouts. I want to talk about
Saints Cowboys because Mike and Ian guys.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
That's my points of Pelusa for the wrong.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Oh let's go.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Yes, I know Buccaneers Lions is there, and I like
that because the Lions are tired from Sunday night. The
Buccaneers actually have something to play for because they can
get revenge from the divisional playoff, and I just think
the Lions do have that let down, that emotional let
down from beating Matthew Stafford and the Rams on Sunday Night.
But it's the highest point total, Mike, I can't do that.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
That's cheating. When we're doing points of Beloza.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
We're trying to find points in a game somewhere else.
Forty six and a half is the over under for
Saints Cowboys. I think the Saints keep up their end
of the bargain at you, but the Cowboys end up
running away and winning by a couple of scores.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
So you're looking for Dak Prescott to not just be
a passer by and watching the kicker do all the
work this week.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
You know, it's a perfect, perfect segue, and we can
talk about Cowboys Saints, but my don't Look Back in
Anger is most nice, Dak Prescott. My Oasis song of
week two is don't Look Back in Anger, And if
you missed it last week on the heels of the
Oasis reunion of Noel and Liam getting together, I'm gonna
give you a player to play, or at least have

(38:19):
some reason to mention him connected to an Oasis song.
Last week, I felt Kyler Murray was gonna be supersonic.
He wasn't. I'm over one there. Don't look back at
Dak's Week one in Anger. There was a special team's score.
Deshaun Watson was awful. I think the Saints are gonna
be respectable and be able to put up points with

(38:40):
the Lave, with Rashid Scheed, with Alvin Kamara.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
I think it will be.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
A formidable, formidable opponent for the Cowboys. But in the end,
the Cowboys run away with it.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
See if we can get those tight ends involved again,
both top five scores in week one. Yeah for Derek Carr.
I mean, if nothing else, if it goes the other way,
then they're chasing and we start seeing them go for
the downs there as long as Micah Parsons doesn't tee
off too much. But I like, I like this one.
This is a this is a curious game for me.

(39:10):
I got the popcorn ready to see what Dak and
the offense brand. Because remember Ceedee Lamb didn't didn't have
to play a huge role in week one, just the
the short short yard. What five catches sixty one yards?
So uh yeah, opportunity. And Brandon Cooks is healthy. You
know when he's healthy, good things happen. Curious to see
how they cover up for the loss of Ferguson though

(39:31):
I really thought he'd be a big component here, but
with the injury, he's out, so a little bit of shuffling.
But yeah, I think this is this is a perfect
candidates for a for a big.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
Outing fast track.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Both teams are used to the environment, if you will,
Saints obviously playing indoors in New Orleans. Maybe there'll be
some open spaces in Dallas, but still should be fast
for the Cowboys and Saints on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
Were you getting a Dixie Chicks wide open spaces in there?

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Is that what you're in there?

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Oh? No, now they're just the Chicks, right because they
dropped the Dixie Yes, yes, I did not purposely do that,
that's for sure. This is it's only about Oasis Dak
points of palooza is Saints, Cowboys and my Survivor Picks

(40:19):
Ravens and your sleeper the Patriots. Should we get to
the to the news that we don't want to jinx, Yeah,
let's go. So Mike, myself and Ian we're giving a
heads up that a portion of our I Want Your
Flex podcast from this past week, and I'm saying could,

(40:40):
because I don't want to say that it is going
to We got a heads up that this could be
our either the Fox NFL kickoff show eleven eastern eight
Pacific on Sunday mornings or on the Big Fox NFL
Sunday noon eastern nine Pacific show where they're going to
be talking about Jordan Love. This is not a guarantee,

(41:01):
but we did find out that they had reached out
to use some of our audio from that podcast about
Packers quarterback Jordan Love, and now you may be able
to hear it again on Fox Sunday Morning. In fact,
I don't even it may even be in the first show, Mike,
I'm not sure exactly. So we have been given some
clearance that, hey, they would like to use what we

(41:23):
talked about with Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers
possibly for one of their pieces that will air on
Sunday prior to the week two games. So fingers crossed
that they do use it, and if you can tune
in and check it out, that would be awesome. And
if they don't use it, we'll just make fun of
ourselves on the next podcast, and if they do use it,

(41:44):
we'll just have a good time with.

Speaker 5 (41:45):
And of course we'll clip it off and send it
out shamelessly repeatedly if and when it does play between
the eight and ten Pacific what eleven I can't even
do the math anymore.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
It'll be eleven o'clock eastern, eight pacifics the first pregame show,
and then you've got the main pregame show at noon.
I know they probably don't want me to call it
the main pregame show, but it's more of a respect
to Terry and Howie and ja years of history.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Yes, in the Broadcasting Hall of Fame for crying out one.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
Absolutely, so kudos to those guys, your guy Glazer as well. Yeah,
so it's a yeah, it's gonna be hopefully, it's gonna
be awesome.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
It's gonna be neat.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
We appreciate the u the recognition and people listening and
like what we do. I'm ninety nine percent sure it's
only gonna be Mike Ian I gotta be completely honest,
because Mike was bringing some fire about the the Packers
and George Loving for.

Speaker 4 (42:42):
This past weekend. So but it'll be great to see.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
What the pot on there would be cool.

Speaker 6 (42:47):
We'll be like the Leonardo DiCaprio meme where he's pointing
at the TV from.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
Yes, yes, so it should be fun, all right, So
set your DVRs if you can, that'd be great. All Right,
that's it for the pod. Any last moments before we
shut this down.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
I'm ready to get back after it.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
Sunday Night football Bears and Texans, So for me a
little bit of that excitement to see what Week two brings.
Roma Dunza and Keenan Allen both banged up for the Bears,
so curious to see how Waldron mixes things up and
maybe they can actually run.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
The ball forward before the fourth quarter this week.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
Forty five and a half is the total there, and
obviously CJ Stroud we'd love watching him work. So I
mean fun game in a primetime window is the one
that you know, I kind of circle off of that
off of the slate because we didn't talk about that
game really that much because middling over under and two
defenses that should be able to get after it.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
Dean, your Jets bounce back against the Titans.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
That's what I'm hoping for.

Speaker 6 (43:54):
I'm gonna tentatively say yes, but again, knock on wood
just you know, like that. But yeah, I'm hoping to
actually see like some sustained offensive drives from Aaron Rodgers,
because it was really just it felt like the whole
game on Monday, it was just forty nine ers on offense.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
So I just wish Mike's Bears weren't wearing those pumpkin uniforms.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
But yeah, it does. I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (44:16):
They've got close enough Navy anyway, Texans are going all white.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
Should be a unique look on Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
Maybe not what we saw at the Hall of Fame
game to start the NFL preseason, but a different look
in week two.

Speaker 5 (44:30):
I might live stream myself reacting to it. See how
performative I can be when things go around with.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
The orange helmets and jerseys, blinding Mic of this just
orange light on his face from the screen. And the
Bears look great, great traditional uniform in the NFL, and
I just cannot get down with the orange. All right,
that's it. We're done here for Mike Carmon and Ian Roddy.
I'm Dan Byer again, Fox NFL Sunday Moon Eastern. Check
it out for us, have fun with us, and we'll

(44:59):
talk to you next time. Your and I want your
flex
