Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, this is the Doug Gottlieb Show. Years in
the bonus with Doug gottlie What a.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Dog Gottlieb Show. The bone is Fox Sports Radio. iHeartRadio
app Welcome in Hope. You're doing great, Come on, you know,

(00:31):
I think it's interesting, right, I've been doing this job
for years. This this is twenty twenty four, so I've
been doing this job at the national level for twenty
one years. Twenty one years. And the reason I don't
spend a ton of time talking about contract holdings holdouts

(00:51):
is because really, the last guy to miss a season
was Le'Veon Bell and it worked out poorly for him.
And so while there's all the threats of hold ins
and holdouts and whatever, the reality to it is they're
all gonna play this year anyway. You know. Just the
question is in regards to, you know, how guys feel

(01:13):
and how much their feelings are hurt. Are they able
to bounce back from it quickly and then have a
good season. But I just I don't get Hassan Reddick,
for example, like, yeah, it looks bad that the Jets
traded form. We want a new contract. We also have
to factor in there's a very strong possibility, maybe even
a probability that they can't. There was Joe Douglas thought

(01:35):
it was at a certain level, and then his agent's like, yeah,
we're gonna we want more than that, right, and maybe
maybe that the terms change from their perspectives. So we
put all this onus on the Jets just sign him,
Like why do we have to sign to a bad contract?
Why because we traded for him, So now when we
agreed to one thing, it's got to be another. The

(01:55):
point is that while it feels in the very near future,
and this is a lot like the Jerry Jones where
he at first said, you know, there wasn't he wasn't
under pressure to get things done. He just wasn't. And
then of course he backpedaled for it, because players today
are you know, sowing their feelings that they get their
feelings hurt when their immediate demands aren't met. But the

(02:19):
reality is, I think back in the last twenty years,
right in the last time, who Levy on Bellen? Who else? Yeah,
there's been guys that miss games here or there. EMITTT
Smith missed a couple games with the Cowboys and ultimately
got paid. But for the most part, especially with these
new cbas like you're not going anywhere, And it's just

(02:40):
totally interesting to me to see whether or not teams
under pressure. That really is not true pressure. Many of
these teams you own it. You own the rights to
a player where you could franchise tag them for three years.
Here you don't have to do anything now. Some of
that you want to do for cost certainty, some of
you want to do for justin the cap in future years.

(03:02):
And of course you also want guys in the locker
room to feel like if you're a really good player,
you're gonna get you're gonna get paid like a really
good player. That's a very reasonable thing to have, reasonable
thing to desire. But that doesn't mean you just have
to acquiesce in the second the player wants money and
how much he wants, you got to give it to him.
That is not the way the world works. The other

(03:23):
guy and we talked about this a little bit on radio,
But I think all of us who are athletes, all
of us are athletes, understand that while there's plenty of
phonies out there who will tell you that they didn't
achieve their hopes and dreams because their coach screwed him
where their mom wouldn't sign the permission slip or something

(03:44):
in the world was out to get him. The fact
is that Sam Donald, I believe, had a world of
potential when he came out of USC and he went
to the worst situation possible. Bad GM, bad coach, bad
roster in a city that expects you to perform right away.
It didn't work with the New York Jets, and there

(04:05):
were moments where you're like, you know, there's something there.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
He wasn't as refined as Josh Rosen coming out, but
he has He has it that far sort of thing
where he can run around and make a play, the
Aaron Rodgers sort of thing, and he had to learn
and become refined more as a quarterback. And the first
three games in Carolina they were three and oh what happened? Well,
they lost Christian McCaffrey and suddenly he went back to
struggling as a quarterback with a bad football team. Right,

(04:33):
JJ McCarthy's going to be out for an unforeseen amount
of time with a n E issue, which means Sam
Donald is your guy. And he's had a really good offseason.
And if it wasn't for the fact that j. J.
McCarthy's coming off a national championship and who's you first
round draft pick? He probably has earned the right to
start for the entire season. Well, it's been several years
Lamar Jackson who was drafted away behind him as a

(04:54):
bona fide star, maybe superstar, and now it's Sam Donald's
chance to live up to some of that billing. This
is his opportunity. I'm actually really excited for I'm bummed
for JJ McCarthy, But in what should be a fifteen
year career, it's a one year blip. Feels like a
really good opportunity for one guy to live up to
his billy.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Stug Gotleeb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. And I
would venture to say one of the most interesting and
talented teams that we're still trying to see will they
get over the hump right is the Buffalo Bills. Job
Biscalia joins us here on the Doug galllib Show on
Fox Sports Radio. Works for the Athletic covers the Bills. Joe,

(05:45):
how much residue do you think there is from thirteen
seconds going back a couple years ago in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Well, I think that kind of moment will never really
remove itself from from the coaching staff, But they have
reset a lot of their roster, and specifically in this offseason,
Like the past few there was a lot of holdovers
from one year to the next of you know, them

(06:13):
thinking they were just a couple of pieces away, a
couple of pieces away, and they just kept adding to
what they had and kind of got themselves into some
salary cap trouble that they had to rectify this offseason.
So they they've they're kind of like trying to put
a new, little like refresh into this season. But to
your point, like that moment is the closest they have

(06:33):
ever been to getting where they've always wanted to go.
I'm sure you know, in some way it's still in
the back of Josh Allen's brain, but I think they've
it's it's been enough time at this point to the
point in which they're just kind of taken this year
as it is. But anytime they see the Chiefs, you know,

(06:54):
it's just a little bit a little bit different. No
matter if it's the regular season, the playoffs, whether it's
that Arrowhead, whether it's in Orchard Park, there's just always
a little bit more of a flare to that matchup.
From a Bills perspective, what's.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Your wide receiving core look like without Stefan Diggs.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah, it's going to be from my perspective, a pretty
big rotation. I mean, they've got four guys who they're
pretty excited about right now, and that for being Khalil Shaker,
who is the only player who have caught a pass
in a game from Josh Allen and they really liked
He came out strong probably around the last two and
a half months or so last season. Keyon Coleman, the

(07:30):
rookie who is going to factor in. He's going to
get a bunch of snaps. Curtis Samuel, who can line
up a little bit of everywhere. They've lined him up
in the backfield, They've lined them up at a couple
of receiver positions. And the other one that no one
talks about that is probably going to get more snaps
than people expect is Mac Collins, who is a journeyman,
veteran receiver. They love him in the locker room everything
like that plays a couple of different positions, So I

(07:52):
think they're they're kind of in a in a weird Okay,
let's see how this whole thing shakes out. The analogy
I've been using recently for how I see their receiver
room is like how and it's kind of it's not exact,
but it's kind of how the Oklahoma City Thunder just
kind of went through their entire regular season, Like they
didn't make a huge move in the off season or

(08:14):
a huge move with the deadline that everyone expected them to,
but they wanted to see exactly what they had when
push came to shove, and then once they found out
that information, they made those moves in the upcoming off season.
That's kind of where I think the Bills are right now,
Like they have this receiver group and they want to
see who steps up, who can become that guy for

(08:35):
Josh Allen, if they have that guy on the roster,
or if they even have that or if they even
need that guy for Josh Allen anymore, because they want
to see if he could become a talent elevator. So
that's where I think it's kind of a to be determined,
and I would not rule them at all, rule it
out at all for them to dip their toes into
a bigger name receiver market a next off season.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
So Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Trade Jobishalia joined
us here he covers the bills for the athletic For
a long time, there's been questions, can they run the football?
Other than Josh Allen, what's the answer this year?

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, they They're gonna put their best effort toward it.
And once Joe Brady, the offensive coordinator took over last
season for Ken Dorsey, their running rate seemed to go
up a little bit. And I think that probably coincided
with the fact that a lot of the games were
in Orchard Park and the weather wasn't the greatest. So
there's a general inclination here in Buffalo to maybe run

(09:32):
the ball just a bit more set things up for
the passing game. But that's also something that that Sean
mcnermott is a proponent of, not that he wants to
be a run heavy approach, but that he believed firmly
that you have to be able to show that you
could run the ball to be able to pass the ball.
As effectively as you want it to. So they believe

(09:52):
pretty strongly in James Cook. He's going to be their
number one by a lot this year. I would be
surprised if he gets up to sixty to sixty five
percent of snaps, which is on the high side for
the Bills and how they've operated since Sean McDermott and
Brandon Bean came around. But yeah, that's their big hope.
They will have a step back. I think a little

(10:13):
bit because their offensive line is just a little bit
different from last year. Ecnomerc Govern, their left guard from
last year, switched over to center after they moved on
from longtime veteran Mitch Morse. And then they they brought
a guy who was their backup all year, David Edwards,
you know, starting experience with the Rams in past years,
but still kind of an unknown quantity as to how

(10:35):
this run game will shake out. So they're hopeful, but
you know, this is a past first team with Josh Allen,
and they would be kidding themselves to think that there
are anything about that.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Okay, you know, so much of that division. I feel
like Joe is schedule based, right, I mean, like you
go back two years ago, when they played Miami started
the season. You're playing that intense heat and you just
start to kind of wither under the heat. And the
Dolphins obviously a different team in the warmth than they
are in the cold weather. And then of course the

(11:09):
converse happens when you're playing the cold you're playing in Buffalo.
This year's Buffalo's schedule kind of interesting, right again, start
the season, second game of the year, they go to
Miami and play in the heat. Are they better equipped
this year for playing under because you know those visiting
sidelines are it's like under it's like ants underneath a

(11:30):
magnifying glass. How much prep can they have, especially considering
like their schedule is ridiculous off the jump, Yes, Cardinals
at home, but then I think for their next five
are technically road games. That's crazy, starting with the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Yeah, and a lot of those are night games to
including that Dolphins one. So that might be like some
little bit of respite from the heat, but it's still
going to be a factor because it's early September. I
think the game is on what the twelfth, so it's
it's going to be it's going to be really hot
down there, no matter what and it's going to be humid,
so they just and I remember that game clear as

(12:06):
day from when they played early season Miami, and it
seemed like everybody was going.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Down to the heat.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
And the offense I believe for the Bills in that
game had something close to like eighty to ninety snaps
in that game. It was just wild. They were losing
offensive wneman lesson right, they had one offensive lineman playing
on a torn acl that they found out after the game,
just because they didn't have anybody else. So all of
this SIPER stuff, but yeah, their schedule early season is

(12:34):
a tough one. I mean when you open up the
Sunday at one o'clock game against the Cardinals, which isn't
going to be a super easy out. By the way,
the Cardinals team looked to be much improved and the
Bills I think have taken maybe like a mini step back.
They're one of those teams that I think is going
to be much better near the end of the season
than maybe they show early on. Because the Bills have

(12:56):
some legitimate questions, so I would not be surprised at
all this year starts off, especially with the schedule what
it is, all those night games all those road games
and all these tough teams that they're going up against.
I would not be surprised if if we're looking at
the Bills after six games and seeing like two and
four or three and three, just because that's that might
be how their season plays up this season.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Jill, what's the biggest position battle going on in camp?

Speaker 4 (13:21):
It's really the safety position. Honestly, I mean outside receiver,
which we touched on the safety position because they don't
have a great answer there and for years they have
just had these two stalwarts back there that basically you
plug him in the lineup, you don't think about safety
ever again. And Jordan Floyer Micah Hyde. This is the
first year that they will not have either of those

(13:43):
guys in the starting lineup unless Michah Hyde decides to
come back, and because he still hasn't ruled out the
idea of retirement or coming back to this point, but
he's left the door open. But right now, what they
have is Taylor Rapp, who was their third safety last year.
He was not that great. They brought him back because
you know, he knows the defense and that's a big
piece of the puzzle. And then outside of that, they

(14:04):
have a rookie Cole Bishop who they drafted in the
late second round, who has been out for a couple
of weeks now with a shoulder injury. Still don't know
his return timeline. They have Mike Edwards who basically missed
all of spring workouts and has also missed basically all
of training camp with a hamstring injury, and they brought
him in on a one year deal. Tamar Hamlin, who

(14:25):
you know, it's remarkable that he's playing again, of course,
but as a player, even before everything happened, it left
a lot to be desired. And it's just a kind
of a mess at safety right now and they're trying
to see what sticks. And the answer to that might
not be on the roster right now, but who knows.
We'll know it's Taylor Rap and somebody, and it still

(14:47):
might be a legitimate weakness when they get into week one.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Man, it's incredible information you've given us. I really really
appreciate it. Thanks so much for joining us enjoy camp,
and of course we'll see you and talk to you
and you're on the road govern this team. Joe, thanks
for being our guest. Jampock Sports Radio, thanks so much
for having me.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Doug he short Tocatch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Let's get to what the puck says, and now.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Fuck say.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Here's Colin Cowher talking about Mookie Betts.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
There's a rule in business, never let great walk out
of the door. And in the six months after they
signed Mookie Betts, six months later the Dodger sign him
to a twelve year extension. They knew what they had,
probably the best player in baseball. He'll play any position.
They put him at short last night, you want to
go play right field. He didn't even really have a rehab.

(15:43):
He's worked out at home. The smile, he's great in
the locker room. He's a leader, he can run any
defensive position, most well liked guy in the clubhouse. He
can hit for power. And the Red Sox let him go.
They let great walk out of the building. And I'm
watching last night and I'm like, I know, Aaron Judge
is great, But the Dodgers have the two best players

(16:03):
in baseball between Mookie Betts and Joheo, Tawni and Otani.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
This year you know he's not.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
He's d eight.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
So Mookie's given you defense, he's given you offense, he's
given you shortstop, and it's just it's incredible. By the way,
since the Dodgers traded for him, I was looking at
some numbers this morning. Since the Dodgers traded for him,
the Dodgers have the most wins in baseball, the number one,
the first run differential, the second best home run differential,

(16:28):
the best team at ERA, and the Red Sox are
seventeenth or lower in all those categories.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Now, listen, I mean, Collin's obviously right in this one.
I mean he's not the only one. I mean, how
many different how many different changes have the Red Sox made,
and so much of it was because of this deal.
But it also remember that everyone knew he was going
to get a big contract. The Red Sox were trying
to save money and didn't feel like they could afford
based upon where they were as a franchise. And I
love Mookie Betts and I think last year you could

(16:57):
make a really strong case that he was the MVP
of the National League. His play in the second half
was outstanding. So this is in any way saying he
wasn't worth it. But it's just one of those things
where at the time that was the decision was a
financial one, and I think didn't they put David Price
in that deal as well, which David Price was a
dick and had a bad contract and they gave him

(17:17):
away to the Dodgers. So it was all financial implications,
which is interesting because you know, if you look back,
obviously the Red Sox gave away Babe Ruth because of
financial implications.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Hey, Doug, just to add some fairness into this, Yeah,
I mean I know his producers pretty well. You do too,
Greg Towey, Ryan Music, Kyle Libbey, the whole bunch. They're great,
good guys, So I know they gave him this information.
He just chose not to use it because that was
only eighty seven seconds of about five minutes of just
pure licking underneath the balls of Mooki Billts. The last

(17:54):
three postseason series, which dates back to twenty twenty one,
lc US Mooki Is Bad, is six for forty eight
about in one twenty five. Each of those series resulted
in wasses. He has a total of two RBIs in
the last three postseason series. I just wanted to add

(18:17):
that for fairness.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah, he hasn't be good enough in the postseason for
how well regard he is in the regular season. I
don't and I understand that he didn't add that and
they knew it, But I also think that doesn't really
matter in baseball, and it's not really the point. I
don't think I know the point you're getting at, which is,
if you're the best player in baseball one two best,
you should be better in the postseason. That's fair. His

(18:38):
point is more the Red Sox let him walk out
the door, which again it was about money, not about it.
It wasn't that they didn't know he was awesome. Maybe
they didn't know he was this level of awesome. And
if he's that level of awesome, to your point, why
isn't he better in the postseason. Here's a jonas lvarn
Brady talking about hasan reddick situation with the Jets.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
This doesn't appear like it's going to go anywhere any
time soon.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
We ever heard anything like this happened where you had
an immediate trade take place and then he wants to
be traded again. And football, I mean, I can't quite
recall something like this. I mean, I guess My first
thought goes back to Antonio Brown going to the Raiders,
which you know, there's a.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Number of things that happened that offseason.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
There was the cryo chamber foot thing, there was this
whole helmet issue and all that, and he got traded
out I think before even really did did he even
play a season for them?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
No.

Speaker 6 (19:35):
What's not bizarre about this is it made complete sense.
You know, Son Reddick, who was a pass rush that showcased.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
The ability to get that bag based on how he's played.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
The last three years, and the Jets had a need
after they let I believe was Huff go over to
the Eagles, and so that that kind of swamp made
made sense. The fact that they for some reason didn't
foresee this being an issue, I don't know if they
didn't talk to his agent, if they didn't talk to
a Son Reddick. It sounds like a Son Reddick, at

(20:10):
least for the words and reports we're seeing from the
Jets are saying that he told them he'd play under
this contract when they initially made the trade.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah, that's my guess is like I said in the open,
my guess is something about a Son Reddick's presentation of
the facts is different now than it was then. Otherwise
none of it makes any sense. It makes no sense.
He just wanted to get out of Philadelphia and give
a chance to get paid and go to the Jets,
and now he wants he wants the contract. Now that
you know, I wouldn't blame the Jets. I think it's

(20:42):
also he has for more money. This is Rob Parker
talking about Steph.

Speaker 7 (20:47):
Curry, and I'm here to tell you on this Magic
City Monday, that's Steph Curry. While making big shots, Martin
Weiss did not make any clutch shots in helping the United.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
States win goal.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Huh all right?

Speaker 7 (21:05):
The score during steps last four to three pointers. The
United States was up by three, they were up by six,
they were up by six, and they were up by six.
So that means three of those shots of those last
four threes he made, it was already a two possession game.
That's what makes something clutch. It's when you hit a

(21:25):
home run in the bottom of the ninth, Martin, and
your team is down a run and you win the game,
or you tie the game in the bottom of the
ninth and send it to extra innings. That's what Clutches did.
He make big shots, yes, but your definition of people
who think he made clutch shots you can't be more wrong.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
It's not clutch.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
Big shots are barrage, whatever you want to call it.
It ain't clutch if it's a two possession game. It's
that simple.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
I want to apologize to you as a listener for
the drabble. I love Rob. I don't look. If you
actually watch the game, you would know that they had
a double digit lead and it got all the way
down to three, and the crowd is crazy into it,

(22:17):
and he gets the ball and shot fakes and steps
into a three and nails it. That is the definition
of a clutch shot. Now, if you want to do
it based upon score, that's fine. That's not how people
actually played the sport or know the sport actually do it.
So I just again, I love Rob. He has the

(22:38):
ability to deliver the hot take that does not base
itself on substance at all. But this one is based
upon substance, okay, because he's going by a literal definition
of something being in a one possession game, and that's
the only way anything can be deemed as clutch, which
I think most people disagree with. But I do think

(22:58):
there is an actually you know, like he's going literal
instead of figurative. Of course he's wrong, but at least
he has some statistics to back up why he thinks
what he thinks, even though it's the wrong way of
looking at it. That's what the Fox said. Fuck say,
let's get to who and what is really taking off

(23:20):
Jason Stewart.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
And now it's your annoying.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Hey, Doug, I think about the person that I've talked
about most frequently in this segment is Tyreek Hill. I
think he's won the most your Annoying awards since we
started this. I'm sure he's proud of that. He said
this yesterday about the Olympic sprinter Noahlliles.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Sprinter Noah Liles.

Speaker 7 (23:54):
He said that Super Bowl champs should not consider themselves
world champions.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
What do you think of that?

Speaker 8 (23:59):
Allow can't say nothing after word just happened to him,
you know what I'm saying. Didn't want to come out
and pretend like he's sick. I feel like that's that's
like horse radish. So for him to be like do
that and say that we're not world champions of like
our sport and like, come on, bro, like just speak
on what you know about you know what I'm.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Saying and that track. Would you like to raise him?
When he gets home?

Speaker 8 (24:21):
I will beat no Allows, you think, so I would
beat no Allows a law I wouldn't beat him by
a live but I would beat Noll'd like to see
that happen.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
And guess what.

Speaker 8 (24:29):
When I beat him, I'm gonna put on a COVID
mass and let him know what I mean business.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
So Tyreek Hill says this, and and then it's all
over the bloggersphere, all over Twitter, and there's going to
be some half asked attempt to maybe set this up
or whatever. It will never happen and he'll probably lose
because we all know NFL speed is different than world
class sprinting speed. But whatever, Now, I will say this,
if I'm one of Tyreek Hill's a dozen illegitimate kids,

(24:57):
I would never approach him for advice. Joe Rogan recently said,
the best advice that I could give you about me
is don't take my advice. He makes awful choices in wife.
He chose to walk away from the best quarterback in football.
He chose that he chose to have many children out

(25:18):
of wedwalk that he has to account for now, but
don't approach him for advice. The best advice he could
give is don't take my advice.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
I do think he's right in terms of no Allisles
so and like Noelliles talks out his ass all the time.
I mean no Lyles. Apparently the story was in Adidas.
Adidas when they're trying to recruit him, they send him
a invite to a Anthony Edwards release party, and he
was like, what is he ever won? Like he doesn't
have any fucking clue where he stands in the rest
of the world, Like this will literally be the last
time we'll ever discuss the name Noe Alliles unless he

(25:50):
races Tyreek Hill. So I think right message, wrong messenger?

Speaker 5 (25:56):
Right?

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Are you okay with that one?

Speaker 3 (25:57):
That's where I'll give you that. Yeah, I'll meet it halfway.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
What else?

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Okay? So Aaron Rodgers has a book out, and you know'
connor will be on with you this week and it's
going to be interesting.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
And now you O'Connor has a book out. It's just
about Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
And Aaron Rodgers did an interview today with Boomer and
Geo in New York City. And they he kind of
confirmed that he didn't. It's definitely not an authorized biography,
but he did an interview to answer to some of
the things that were brought up in the book, which
a lot of people that don't authorize biographies don't even
sign up for that. But anyways, I want to key

(26:33):
in on something that Boomer says to Aaron here.

Speaker 9 (26:36):
I've always said that, like, of all the guys that
I've ever interviewed in the NFL that have played our position,
I don't necessarily know that there's anybody that thinks the
way that you. Maybe Tom Brady to a certain extent,
but the things that you think about are different than
what everybody else is thinking about.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Well, I think that that is partially true.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
I think the other part is I'm willing to say
non cliche things every time at the single time we sit.

Speaker 9 (27:01):
Down for something like this guy might worried about the
repercussions from it.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
And I think that kind of sums it up that
last part. And to Boomer's point, and what's annoying is,
and I've said this before, I want to repeat it,
that we get so bogged down and so pissed off
at some of the things that Aaron Rodgers says, some
of the theories he supports, some of the political candidates

(27:25):
he supports. We get so bogged down in the kind
of the ridiculousness that we don't appreciate in general, that
we have a star quarterback nearer or top near or
still towards the top of his game that says amazingly
interesting things and does interesting things, and he's not that

(27:46):
cliche factory. If you watch that Netflix series Quarterback Liner Cousins,
I forget the other two guys. The main takeaway from me,
these guys are boring robots. They're not very very interesting.
They're like the anti Aaron Rodgers. So in a field
of like cliched corporate speak, I think we lose sight

(28:09):
of the fact that we're actually dealing with a star
player who provides interesting content.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Well that's not lost on me and you. But again,
people don't understand how to take it when they get
to be real people. They're real and they're flawed too, right,
Like he's not perfect, but I agree, I like the
fact that he'll speak his mine. The problem is that
people they say they want something. This is what I
think your point is. They say they want something. When
they get it, they're like, wait, I'm not sure I

(28:36):
wanted that. They say they want guys to actually speak
their mind. They're like, yeah, I don't think like you
think I'm supposed to think. So that is annoying.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
And he he pisses. He's like one of the leaders
in the clubhouse of pissing people off. But I think
the two people that pissed people off the most in
the world right now got together on Twitter last night.
He won Musk and Donald Trump. Now, there's been a
lot of talk leading up to that and since then
about deplatforming. Should X have given the ex president that

(29:08):
platform for all the quote unquote misinformation. I'm going to
repeat yet another thing. Deplatforming or calling for the deplatforming
of anybody is Unamerican. There's a First Amendment that we
very much, very much.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's not what the First Amendment says. Though, Dude, you
can't just say anything no no, you can't just say.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Anything no no, you can't. And I was going to
use the point that Alex Jones people say he should
be a deplatform he's actually the perfect example of why
there should be free speech. He said what he said
about Sandy Hook and he's paying in the tens of
millions of dollars for words have consequences. Is different than
he doesn't deserve a platform. Those are completely separate entities.

(29:54):
So I'm just going to say that if you call
for deplatforming, that is un American. And just because you
think something is misinformation doesn't make it misinformation.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
There's a lot to unpack there. If it's misinformation, it's misinformation.
I mean, the problem is that, like, basically, Donald Trump
is a blue check mark who has his He lies
about everything, so there's no validity to any of his statements.
So I understand what you're saying, which is you should
be allowed to say what you want because then we
can sue you. The problem is that again, Donald Trump
has done that fifty times over, and his lawyers he

(30:30):
just has more money than you do, so you can't
sue him. It's just he wins a war of attrition.
Plus he's a famous person and in order for you know,
to prove defamation, there's things that he lies about which
he can't be defaming. You know, he just can't get
suited for. So I understand what you're saying, Like the
system does work with an Alex Jones, but it took

(30:52):
a long time and there was a lot of a
lot of stuff that went into it because Alex Jones
at the time was supported by people He's viewing out
this shit that's complete fallacies, And yeah, he got sued,
but you know, people are never going to see that money,
and he's still able to be on social media. So
I'm not going to meet you a full way there.

(31:13):
I understand what you're saying about deep platform. He's just
shutting people up and said and letting them speak. But
I do think there is a point that you reach
to which you're like, hey, what value is the platform?
If we can't tell what's true and what's fake, then
it becomes Reddit. That's what reddit is, you know, where
it's just rumor mongering. And if that's what you want,
that's fine, but there has to be some sort of

(31:33):
ability to delineate who's actually trying to provide quality information.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Yep. And the tricky part there is who is in
charge of that and what political bios do they have,
and what is in this information what it isn't And
the whole premise to me underestimates the thinking of you
and me. We all have heads on our shoulders. We
could determine what we think is bullshit or up that

(32:01):
that's what, that's that's what to me, the the ultimate
premise is about yeah, when I can hear it.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Really, it's really hard to prove bullshit on some of this.
You know, you can doctor of videos. There's AI there's
you know, I don't know, dude.

Speaker 7 (32:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
That one that one I struggle with because I'm with you.
I we think of everybody being in our level of intelligence.
Remember the average IQ is one hundred. Okay, that's just
as close to eighty as it is the one twenty.
So what's is that? It? So who's annoying the most?

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Tyreek Hill?

Speaker 7 (32:36):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (32:37):
The the hate that Aaron Rodgers gets a deep platform.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
I'd say they hate that Aaron Rodgers gets hate.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Why are we doing this?

Speaker 4 (32:54):
I do.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Because we can. Matt Liiner and his wife went on
Instagram and delivered this to us.

Speaker 8 (33:07):
So, Josie and I have officially been married for six years,
and we know everything looks really perfect on Instagram, and
since we put our lives on social media, we felt
like it was just time to be honest with everybody.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
I mean, things really are this perfect We're just too happy.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Life has gotten so easy.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Our toddlers are finally sleeping through the night.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
We were getting six hours, sometimes seven hours uninterrupted.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
The kids are potty trained.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
And our house no longer smells like shit.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
We can finally shove our kids' faces into iPads and
enjoy an episode of Love Is Blind, or honestly any
reality show that Jess Best Graces and Date Night once
a morth tonics right. But the freedom of it all,
it's just all too much.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
We knew we had to make a change.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
We took a hard look at each other and decided
to buck shot up.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I like Leonard for the most part. On social media,
it's a lot, but that's how he's chosen to live
his life. Why can't play it for you? Because we can't.
