Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, this is the Doug Gottlieb Show here in
the Bonus with Doug Gottlieb.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
What Doug Gottlieb Show in the Bonus Fox Sports Radio,
iHeart Radio App.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Hey, welcome in.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Oh, how are you? What's going on? How's your day?
This is the Doug Gottlieb Show. It's Fox Sports Radio,
iHeartRadio App.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Welcome in.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
One of the absolute best and classiest in the business,
Solomon Wilcox choins this now on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
And we'll talk to some NFL with him.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
But hey, I now, did you have your knees replaced
or do you have any replaced?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
I had a shoulder joint replacement. How about that, Doug?
All the years of laying the wood and playing a
context sport like football, get all caught up with me.
So I am a veteran joint replacement recipient.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
About that?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Okay, So you've been through this before, okay, So tell
me more about what you're.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Doing in New York City.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Yeah. I'm here in New York City with the zimmer
Bioman app New York City Open Pickleball Tournament, and really
it's to promote good joint health. And as you probably
already know there's an estimated over half a billion people
globally or living with some kind of arthritic pain in
their joint. And to estimate it, less than five percent

(01:34):
of the people who actually seek treatment. The rest they
just tend to go on struggling with pain, as I
did until I found out that I had some other options.
And so look, I'm a veteran, as I said, of
joint replacement surgery, and I want to tell you I'm
sleeping better now, I'm functioning much better with great mobility.
And if people need to find a doctor, if they're

(01:55):
dealing with knee pain arthritis in the knee, they can
go to the Zimber biol Met website at www dot
pickleballknee dot com to find out more information.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Stug Gottlibe show here on Fox Sports Tradio. Let's get
to some NFL stuff. I'm I'm interested in your thoughts
on Aaron Rodgers. What is when do we get to
the point of no return where he can't join, say
the Steelers for this upcoming season.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
See, I think if you follow all the brad crumbs
that they've been laying down, I think he's going to
play for the fist. First say, I think everything all
the signs point to that. I don't think the Steelers
would leave themselves this vulnerable after free agency and after
the draft if they didn't already have an agreement. You remember,
Aaron Rodgers says those who need to know No, he

(02:43):
said that, right, And then we also saw him playing
catch with DK Metcalf, and you know what, we didn't
see Doug him playing cats with George Pickens. And so
what happened after they were playing cats? They signed not
only did they make the trade, but they signed DK
Metcalf to a long term, very wealthy contract extension. They
trade George Pickens, and they're making way for Aaron Rodgers.

(03:07):
And Rodgers just doesn't want to be there during the
off season training program. Instead of saying that because he's
a free agent, tickets to come in whenever you want.
And I think the Steelers have made it okay for
him to come in at a late date, just ahead
of the mandatory portion of minicamp, which is in June.
So instead of giving us answers, they leaving us questioning

(03:28):
it all. But I think they already have an agreement.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Okay, what does that?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
What do you think that looks like, how do you
think that works in Pittsburgh in terms of what it
looks like on the field and how it affects their ceiling.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
No, I think it's a very good question. I have
it am doing my reporting and the people in Pittsburgh
and the people who are very close to the situation. Basically,
Arthur Smith is going to tailor the offense to what
Aaron Rodgers wants to do. It's not going to be
at the level of Nathaniel Hackett, but it's not going
to be everything that you saw last year with Russell
Wilson and Justin Fields, and everybody knows that. When Tom

(04:09):
Brady went down to Tampa, yeah, they tailored some things
to him. When Peyton Manning left the Indianapolis coaches and
went to Denver, we all know John Fox and Kerry Kogack,
they tailored it to the things that Peyton Manning wanted
to do. When a guy's been on lead for twenty
years doing one system, you're going to marry what it
is you do to that player, just like you would

(04:30):
if he was a rookie coming out of college, not
expecting him to handle the full menu. So I think
that's the first question is that they're tailoring it to
Aaron Rodgers so that he's comfortable and so that he
can come in and play right away, and they're hoping
that he has the talent and the ability to elevate
everyone else on the office. I think, given our last
sample in New York, I'm not all in on that.

(04:53):
Let's say, as strong as some of the people in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Okay, what is your opinion of what Cleveland decided to do?
Where you know you draft dealing Gabriel in the third
round and they're like, oh, oh no, we actually want
Shad or Sanders in round five?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
How does that all work out?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Look, Doug, you're a reasonable man, think of the head
should dour Sanders in around three? But no, they took
Dylan Gabriel. You know why they took Dylan Gabriel because
that's the quarterback who they wanted around three. It disappears
to be something from what we're hearing with the reporting
that Jimmy hasle me who's the owner of the team,

(05:32):
by the way, he gets the pick, who he wants
to pick it is his team, that that's what happened,
that this was an owner's pick, and as you saw.
The cameras were right there on the general manager Andrew
Berry was right there on CHEMISTE. Fancy, what do we
see throughout the draft when teams were selecting players that
they were elated to get. They were slapping each other

(05:52):
on the back, They were doing hugs. I'm telling you
all thirty two teams did this when the cameras are on.
But on this selection, they all stood there Rosen staring
at the monitor, and I didn't see any jubilants within
that room. I'm not saying that they didn't want them.
I'm just saying I think it was more the owners
pick more than it is the coaches pick. Now it's

(06:13):
left to the coaches to resolve whatever conflicts that might
arise out of the fans wanting shaduor Sanders in there
as their starting quarterback.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Stut Gottlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, brock
Purty doesn't take top dollar, but does you know, does
check in at a huge guaranteed number. Can the Niners
win with Rock Purty taking up this much of the
salary cap?

Speaker 4 (06:43):
I think they can. I think he's played at a
high level. And remember the twenty twenty three Seedson seven
league record for yards per passes tip he rewrote the
record books for the franchise in terms of yards and
the passing yards in a single season touchdown passes. This
is a franchise that had the great Joe Montana and
Hall of Famer and Steve Young, but yet he's been

(07:04):
able to produce at a very high level. I still
think he'll be able to produce at a high level
within the offense. We've already seen a quarterback take up
the Lion's share fifty million dollars plus a year and
win a Super Bowl, just happened last year with Jalen Hurts.
And they're paying both wide receivers one over thirty million,
another over twenty five million, and Devonte Smith. So this

(07:26):
to me is more about how the can the team
stay healthy, can the defense get back to where they
were now that Robert sala is back. I think it
has less to do with the salary you're paying Rock
Purty and more about how they're going to function as
a team and replace some of the players who are
destined to lead via free agency.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Anyway, that's the voice of some Wilcox. You join us
now on the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio. Okay,
so Dak Prescott gets another weapon in the George Pickens.
But again, I how does George Pickens, who has not
always handled himself. Look, granted, he's not played with the
best quarterbacks in Pittsburgh. I don't think anybody's arguing, but

(08:06):
it's all how you handle it. Do you think that
it makes them a better football team, even if it
makes them a better football team in terms of talent
with Pickens opposite an elite wide.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Receiver, Yeah, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Look, Dallas put themselves in this position where they didn't
get a quality second receiver within their system during the draft.
They didn't do it in free agency, so they had
to make a move to bring in a more quality player,
and this one, quite honestly, it is more proven than
some of the others. I think over the course of
his career, he's averaged close to sixty receptions a year,

(08:43):
over nine hundred receiving yards first season, about average of
four touchdowns per year. So that's a good number. I
think he can get even better. Considering the quarterbacks as
you mentioned that he had been playing with in Pittsburgh.
I think he's going to be a thousand yard receiver
for them. I think he's going to have somewhere close
to seven to ten touchdown recessions. Here's going to be

(09:04):
the key will at some point he pulled a pin
on his own hand grenade and cost them with penalties
at critical moments in games, something he has shown a
pension to do during his time in Pittsburgh. Can he
walk the straight and arrow for the course of the season,
because if he does, he will get a long term
contract extension for Cherry Jones. So there's a lot on
the line here for George Pickens, and there's also a

(09:26):
lot on the line for the Dallas Cowboy.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
No question about it. Are you a tous push guy?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I am a quarterback sneak guy offensive line being dominant
at the point of attack. But I'm not for changing
rules to help the offense, which is what happened in
two thousand and four when they allowed you know, for
about one hundred years in our sport, we did not
allow anyone to push or pull the runner. He had
to gain every yard of his own volition. They changed

(09:55):
the rule, and now what was born from it the
tuss push. So I think it's okay to omit that
part of the play. I had it said. Someone said that, well,
it doesn't matter, I'm pushing him from behind. I'm thinking, well,
why do they do it? It doesn't matter? Of course,
of course it matters. You could see on the first
initial push on the play from the line of scrimmage,

(10:17):
there's a salemate, and then on the second wave there's
a second effort, a second surge that comes with him
pushing him from behind. Now, I'm not gonna whine or cry,
because this is a competitive sport. Both sides of the
ball are trying to do what they need to do
to help win games. And now that the offense is
allowed to push the runner from behind, you know it's

(10:39):
also legal dug just like when Troy Polum Troy Polamalu
dove over the top to sack Neil O'Donnell and sac
him in the backfield. When Frankie Lavou did it after
a couple of times of being offside, they were like,
we're gonna award the other team a touchdown. Well, guess
what it's legal to dive over the top. You and
I both know the league doesn't want defenders diving over

(11:00):
the top, sniping the quarterback. But guess what, it's legal. Now,
let's see how they handle that. Because you got to
expect the defense. The unintended consequence is the defense is
now going to come up with something that I don't
think anyone is going to find savory, just like what
we saw in that playoff game with Frankie Labou and
the Washington Commander. So this is going to bring about

(11:21):
some things defensively that maybe the league doesn't walk.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
That's a great point. He's the one and only, Solomon Wilcox.
What's the what's the website again?

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Solomon?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
How about this pickleball knee dot com. You're suffering from
arthritic knee pain. You need to go check it out.
And it's about our joint health because you can retain
your vitality. Get back to playing sports. Hey, look, I
remember when Doug Gottliegue was one heck of a basketball player.
You still got your hot dog.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
You still.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I'm not no, no, no, I told my need like
four years ago whatever.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
So I can still play around.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
But but I'm not re replacement era, and I am
I'm pretty good at pickaball, So we got to get
you up here to play some pickaball that's when you
do that.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
That'll work. In the meantime, go to the website and
check it out. Maybe we can get your hops back,
my friend. Okay, love it.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
I love it. The one who saw Will Salmon. Thanks
so much for joining us.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
You're the best man. Take care.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Let's Get the Fox Says, and now every day at
this time the Doug Gotlib Show.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
In the botus podcast, we played for you a previous
portion of Fox Sports Radio Fox Sports One Show. This
is Dan Patrick from the Daed Patrick Show talk about
Shake Guild of Alexander winning the.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
MVP Award Shay Gildas Alexander wins the NBA MVP although
we already knew he won it because Shams broke the
story and then Shaq was opening up an envelope last
night and we're supposed to who suspend belief or disbelieve, like, okay,
maybe something else happened here that we don't know, Maybe

(13:07):
Shams didn't get it right, and all of a sudden,
Jack goes Shake Gilgess Alexander MPP. They got to figure
out how to do this because you can't hold this
kind of information this amount of time. Because you remember
when Dirk Novinsky had to accept the MVP after I
think they were blown out by the.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Golden State Warriors in round one.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
I mean, I was told that somebody was suggesting to
give Shay Gilgess Alexander the MVP while he's facing Joker
in Denver. I go, no, no, no, no, that's not
the way you should be doing this. It should be
something that it's a great moment. And even if we

(13:49):
all thought that Shay Gilgis was going to win, let's
do it. Have an announcement so we can treat it
in real time that Yay, all right, you won.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, I mean it does. It does ruin the suspense
of it. I mean again, I think all of us
suspected that he was gonna win it anyway, but it
definitely ruins the suspense of it, you know. I mean,
I think I think anybody can see that. But the
bigger thing is I think Shay deserved it. And what

(14:25):
happens is on social media, you talk about a player
and you're like, I don't think he's one of the
five best players in the like, well, well, then how
is it the MVP? He played the most on the
best team, had a great season. I think he's got
great value to how Oklahoma City plays. Do I think
if we line guys up that he would be taken
ahead of despite the bague un played much defense, Luca, No,

(14:49):
I don't think he would be taken ahead of Joker,
And again, I think we start to get into a
deeper discussion about about true value to a guy. But
he's an unbelievable player with a unique playing style that
Oklahoma City's completely built around and they've been successful with it.
So his value and his performance this season deserves the MVP.

(15:14):
Brady Quinn and Jonas Knocks had this exchange about the
tushbush surviving at least one more year.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Obviously, it's not banned, so it doesn't matter and it's
moving forward. But I do wonder how it got to
this point and why did Jeffrey Glory has to make
such an impassioned speech because he feels like someone's going
behind his back.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
Don't you guys think that the Packers look bad in
this whole thing, especially now that it didn't work because
the NFL really well, because the NFL nudged them into
doing this, and according to a report, the Packers didn't
even really care about it that much. But the NFL,
much like they did with the Lions, and hey, you know,
propose this new playoff format. They sent the Packers out

(15:53):
there to be the bad guy, so to speak, and
now it doesn't get passed and they're the ones that
have to wear it when they didn't even really care
about it that much.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Anyways, if the NFL, I don't.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Think they're wearing it though, this is more about to me,
the Philadelphia Eagles, the touch push, what they've created, what
they're still trying to keep in. I mean, twenty two
other teams agree with them, or twenty one other teams
excuse me, and the NFL for that matter, so it's
not like they're on the wrong side of this. Unfortunately,
do the rules that the NFL has created for themselves
and changing these. It's not a simple majority. And because

(16:24):
of that you look at it and say, all right, like,
who else is on the fence that voted for keeping it?
But a year from now that could change?

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah, I look, I think this is a year away
from going away, and they just couldn't get the support
they got to make a better argument. We'll see what
happens as the Eagles evolve and people continue to plan
against it, but it's remarkably effective for what the Eagles
have done through a couple of Super Bowl runs. Here's
Colin Cowhard explains why last night was not a choke
job by the Knicks.

Speaker 8 (16:54):
The Knicks had three baskets and two free throws in
the final three minutes. They scored enough. Now, they had
some bad turn over, but they scored enough. The story
of the game is give the Pacers credit.

Speaker 9 (17:05):
That was insane.

Speaker 8 (17:06):
They couldn't miss in the last six minutes. They shot
over seventy percent, and they were hard shots. Aaron Nesmith
six straight threes, three in the final minute. Now, this
team plays with pace and tempo, so they score fast.
We know that they've done it all season, and they're
a great clutch team because of Halle. They're thirty one
and two when they score one hundred and twenty points

(17:27):
or more. So you do not want to get into
a track meet with the Pacers. That's Milwaukee tried it,
Cleveland tried it, The Knicks tried it. Don't they never
get tired. I'm like, I'm watching ninth graders, like they
never get tired. Charles Barkley said it at halftime. This
pace totally favors Indiana. And what's remarkable about Haliburton and

(17:48):
Indy is they play at this pace and they don't
turn it over. Then seven turnovers on the road against
the Knick size and the Knick's tenacity. Seven turnovers. But
I'm gonna defend the Knicks. They did not choke.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I would look, I would just say this, the Knicks
absolutely choked.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
You miss two of four free throws down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
You make any of those free throws game over, Any
of those free throws game over.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
The turnovers are a choke.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Also, two of those threes were too easy for Nasmith,
including what's called top to top, where you know, you
set a high ball screen or you come and one guy,
a big guy comes off and rubs off and flips
the ball back.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
To Naysmith coming off. There was too much separation.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
But if you have that big a lead and you
turn the ball over and you miss free throws, you choked?

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah, like, look is it?

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Did the Pacers have to play incredibly well and shoot
incredibly well in order to do so. Sure, and what's
most impressive, they don't jack bad shots. They just you know,
continue at their tempo, maybe crank it up and take
the first but they run quick sets for quick hitters
and want to get those quick shots. They've done this before.
But I don't think how you can watch that game
and say, hey, if you're holding the ball to get

(19:07):
fouled and you miss one out of two free throws
and it happens twice, and that's the difference in the game.
It's absolutely a choke. Absolutely, that's what the Fox said.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
I say.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Let's find out who are what's annoying? Jason Stewart.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
And now it's your annoying.

Speaker 9 (19:41):
I just want to warn listeners here, something's going to
happen here in the next ten minutes. It's really going
to trigger you. So if you're easily triggered, you're probably
not listening to this anyways. I want to ban a
button up what you just said, Cowherd in the minority. Today,
it seems even the people that are afraid to use

(20:03):
the word choke job or phrase choke job have used
the word the phrase choke job over the last twelve hours,
like he's the one guy on the they didn't choke.
Here's here's the stat that basically in writing says it's
a choke job. When down nine or more in the

(20:23):
final one minute of fourth quarter in playoff games, the
team is oh in one thousand, four hundred and fourteen.
Now they are one in one thousand, four hundred and fourteen.
That in statistically, statistically, it's the biggest choke job in

(20:45):
the history of the playoffs. Yes, so I always sense
that you are a little bit unenthused with this topic.
Who the next face of the NBA is. I get that,
but I kind of want to throw a contrast at
you and tell me what you what you think. So

(21:06):
this is how shay gilgis Uh chose to start his
press conference yesterday receiving the MVP Award and then the.

Speaker 10 (21:18):
One and only Hailey Summers. Thank you, Sorry, I'm so dramatic,
Hailey Summers, thank you for everything you are for for me,

(21:41):
for our sun aries. You were the first person to
show me what love really meant, what love really meant,
what sacrifice really meant. And I can't wait to spend

(22:03):
the rest of this journey called life with you. Thank
you for everything. I wouldn't be the man I am.
I want to be the player I am. I wouldn't
be the father I am without you, but thank you
for that.

Speaker 9 (22:13):
A twenty six year old with a ton of money
has a wife that he chose to mention first. When
he received the MVP award, Anthony Edwards said this after
the game two nights ago.

Speaker 11 (22:26):
I definitely got to shoot board. I took thirteen fucking shots.
But I'll say, probably just get off the ball a
little more. Play without the ball. I think that'd be
the answer, because playing on the ball he's just go
double and then sit in the gaps all day. So
got to go watch some film and pick it apart.
We'll figure it out.

Speaker 9 (22:44):
So for saying the word fuck in the press conference,
he was fined fifty thousand dollars. Okay, and you're saying,
what's the big deal, it's one fuck. They come off
a loss, it's fifty thousand bucks. No, no, no, no, He's been
fine now Doug a NBA record for one hundred and
twenty thousand dollars this season. He's been fined for similar

(23:06):
actions during press conferences. So if you want to offer
up a contrast and you want to have the conversation
about the next face of the NBA, are you going
to choose the guy that is married at twenty six,
with all the temptations available to him, who thanks his
wife and gets teary eyed, or are you going to
think the guy that was just fine fifty thousand dollars

(23:26):
for saying fuck in the press conference.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, there's a lack of consistency, you know, a lack
of consistency. There no no, no questions asked, none at all. Also,
you know, like again, I think it's also the place
in which it shared and the way in which it shared.
Hunt not really sure, but whatever, there's a lack is it?

(23:53):
What else is annoying?

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Well?

Speaker 9 (23:55):
I think the fifty thousand dollars is a sign that
if he'd already been fine for one hundred and twenty
thousand dollars this season, he definitely knows not to do it,
So him doing it is just being immature. Yeah. Anyways,
Ben Johnson was asked about the tush push being pushed
through for another season.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Does it become an explosive play ever?

Speaker 10 (24:17):
Have you ever seen a toush push become an explosive play?
So he's become a first down or a touchdown?

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (24:22):
I like explosive play.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
I like big plays. I like big plays.

Speaker 9 (24:24):
So I'm not a big Toush push guy myself. Ben
Johnson is getting a whut to love on social media
for this. I guess it's a manly thing to do.
Uh to be for explosive plays and big plays and
exciting plays.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Go vertical, Go vertical, vertical, right vertical. That's what used
to do. Al Al David sounds like a vertical.

Speaker 9 (24:48):
I would certainly if I'm Ben Johnson, I would not
reject the concept of doing something or trying to duplicate
the Toush push. I said on the air yesterday, I
think a couple or three teams are going to become
good at the toush post this year because it's legal,
and then the NFL is going to be like, now

(25:09):
this has reached a point where it's boring. Ben Johnson
should not reject it. He should not outwarly be like
there's nothing in our playbook that's going to be that way.
We're going to be explosive.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah, I mean listen, a play that gets you a
first down or gets you a touchdown, right, those are
those that feels like I'm forever going to eat my
words sort of comment. Interesting, right, Interesting that you have
sort of neanderthal a way of approaching a play or
style you disagree with, just completely being dismissive of it

(25:44):
after a second Super Bowl appearance using it.

Speaker 9 (25:47):
So this one wasn't gonna win your annoying anyways. But
this is the most important part, and I do Warren listeners,
this is gonna probably trigger you. I listen to all
three hours and twelve minutes of Aaron Rogers with Joe
Rogan yesterday immediately, and maybe this speaks to how I
do my social media. But like my algorithm gives me

(26:11):
reactions of both sides, maybe that speaks to my quest
to get both sides of political arguments. I don't know
what it says to me, but so the timeline is
filled with these two kooks talking conspiracy theories for three
and a half hours. Who listens to this garbage? Well,

(26:31):
first of all, I'm gonna tell you. I think eighty
million people listen to that garbage. But that's beside the point.
Close minded people are annoying to me. Okay, you have again.
I'm never gonna stop saying this. You have a top
ten quarterback in the most popular league in the country

(26:54):
that speaks without filter about unpopular things, about conspiracies that's interesting,
that should be embraced, that should not be shit on.
He's a one of a kind, like he's the opposite
of Michael Jordan's saying Republicans buy shoes two. It's Aaron

(27:14):
Rodgers is the opposite. He literally doesn't give a shit
what people think, and to me, that's refreshing. You don't
have to agree with everything he says, but I would
if I was anyone listening to this right now, find
the podcast, have an open mind and listen to it.
It's some of the most riveting conversation to hear between

(27:36):
two thoughtful dudes. And I'm not sure why anyone would
reject that.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Um Ah, I appreciate the fact that he doesn't give
a fuck.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
I do. I actually do. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
The problem is that he speaks with authority on things
that he doesn't know as much about as I think
he thinks he does right, Like again, we talk about
these things, and I hate to go back to the
vax thing because I know there's a lot more to
them than just the vax thing, but that is like

(28:16):
his signature and a moment in the mainstream, and the
signature thing people are forever gonna hold against him, Like
you don't know as much as somebody like you're going
off of internet rumor and whatever you read. You're not
an actual scientist yourself. Stop fucking acting like you are.
And Rogan's the same. And it's a powerful, powerful platform

(28:38):
to where they do at times say things that are
actually incorrect, and there's nobody calling bullshit on it.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
So I hear you.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
I appreciate it as well, like somebody who literally has
stopped giving a fuck about what anybody thinks. But the
power that comes with their name and their credibility, I
think makes it so that it's not as charming as
maybe maybe you'd think it would be.

Speaker 9 (29:05):
Yeah, and I would. I'll just say, have an open
mind in if your immediate thought is it's the guy
who lied about the vaccine talking to the maga asshole
who got Trump elected. Take that away from your I
guess thinking and just listen to two thoughtful people having

(29:26):
an interesting conversation. That's all I'm saying. So uh aunt
v SAG for Face of the NBA. Ben Johnson wins,
You're anoyed.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Ben Johnson wins, you're annoyed. Why are we doing this?

Speaker 9 (29:45):
Because we can?

Speaker 3 (29:48):
WHOA?

Speaker 9 (29:49):
Did Rob Gronkowski raise eyebrows this week? Did he actually
talk about his murdering ex teammate and masturbation on a podcast?

Speaker 6 (30:00):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I heard this one, Yes, go ahead.

Speaker 12 (30:01):
We heard stories about like him being the team meeting room,
like beating off and like doing crazy Ship. I mean,
and and honestly, if you don't want to talk about
we possibly that's a possibility that one.

Speaker 13 (30:15):
I may or may have not seen it live. No, shift,
I'm not at the time.

Speaker 12 (30:23):
You're just thinking of yourself.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Man, this guy really?

Speaker 13 (30:26):
But uh, I mean I love Crazy Ship though, so,
like I didn't mind things like that. I was like, wow,
like that was pretty epic. Like I was a wild
man myself, so like I was like, nothing fazed me.
I was like I encouraged it.

Speaker 9 (30:43):
Uh no, it's fine, it's fine here. I encouraged it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
It's yeah, it's listen.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
I will tell you my freshman year Notre Dame, I
was really close with the offensive lineman and uh, there
was some gross that those guys did and talked about
that basketball players we did not do and talk about.
I don't know about in a meeting room. But yeah,
that stuff is super weird to me. But again, the

(31:12):
weird is normal if you're drunk, and for that, why
do we play it for you?

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Because we can. That's it for the ind The Modus Podcast.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
