Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Boom, What Up America, Doug
Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. Welcome in. It is April six,
at least in the West Coast, the best coast. The
sun is shining, the birds are chirping. Spring has sprung,

(00:21):
and unlike the Midwest, where Major League Baseball games are canceled,
we got games of playing Dodgers taking on the Padres
this week, Red Sox come to town, take on show
Hey Otani tomorrow at the Big A. We got a
lot to get to, baseball wise, hoops wise. We're here
the playoffs that our rise. Football des Bryant looking for

(00:41):
a home and two guys who called New England home
are not going home at least for O T A s.
And we're a week and half away from the NFL Draft,
which you can see on Fox this year. So a
metric ton to get to. Rick Puker, who is a
long time NBA say age, will join us in fifteen minutes.

(01:02):
We'll get his thoughts on Greg Popovich straight up calling
out Kawhi Leonards people after the game. We'll get his
thoughts on the debacle that was the Cleveland Cavaliers after
Game one we'll get his thoughts on the Oklahoma City
Thunder and Paul George gonna try and mess around and
stay in Oklahoma City is playing so well, and try

(01:24):
and not freak out over just one game, but just
one game for all these series, and I do think
that you would nod your head and say this. I
started sports radio nationally in two thousand three, and that
was at the height of Red Sox Yankees. That was

(01:46):
probably peak Major League Baseball playoffs in terms of ratings
and importance in the national radio landscape. And I always
thought that nothing peaked in terms of of of the
difference in attention to detail, in um in in just
how important every play, every pitch, every at bat was.

(02:09):
The spike between regular season baseball and postseason baseball was
the biggest spike in sports. That was until I watched
this weekend. NBA basketball is really really talentful at the top.
I generally believe that although more guys get a chance

(02:29):
to make it for a cup of coffee at the
bottom of the league, because teams are tanking and it's
a smart way to tank where you can play guys
they can't really help you win, right and pay them
a lot less. The truth is the top of the
league guys have more skill than previous generations. They shoot better,
they pass better, and though they're more role players, they're bigger,

(02:52):
they're longer, they can guard more positions. But you can
take plays off. In the NBA, people take games off.
There are quarters to which not much defense is played,
not much ball movement has had in the regular season.
The postseason is like a different sport. I'll grant you.

(03:15):
There was a play last night late and the Rockets
win over the Minnesota Timberls, a series that I told
you on Thursday would be much closer than a normal
eight one series. And the logical reason was, Hey, look
the Timberwolves. They didn't have Jimmy Butler for a portion
of time, and they had some absolutely tragic losses. And

(03:37):
they're the only team to lose at home to the
Memphis Grizzlies in two thousand eighteen. They lost to the Hawks,
they lost the Orlando Magic, they lost some of the
bottom teams in the league. So that may lead you
to believe that they're not that good. That's not what
I believe. I believe that they're a team. They have
some dysfunction, they have some games where they've no showed.
But the truth is that they're their best is better

(03:58):
than many of the other teams in the West's best.
Like the Utah Jazz got got a tremendous seed, right
like they got a higher seed. But the Utah Jazz
are not a better team at full strength right now,
even with Rudy Golbert and Valentine, they're not a better
team than a full strength Minnesota Minnesota Timberwolves team. And

(04:22):
so I knew that series would be closed. But Carl
Town's couldn't get the ball. It was Antenna was like, man,
it was he's acting like no one's ever denied in
the basketball And the answer is, yeah, no one really
has because in the regular season team just kind of
go out and play LaMarcus Aldrich, who dominant in the
regular season and still finds a way to score. Everyone

(04:45):
knows when he gets the basketball, he's turning one way.
It turns the same way every time, and in the
regular season it works. In the postseason, hey, it's even
more pronounced. The scattering report defense it it feels like
a different sport. And what's maybe most surprising or most

(05:07):
alarming is that the Calves it's like no one told
these calves because so many of them have not been
in this position before, right Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance. Guys
just hadn't been that position before, and there was no
juice at all in Cleveland. None. Sure they missed some
open shots. Those are shots, by the way, that show

(05:31):
their limitations. They can't create their own shots. Since Kyrie's gone,
there's no second shot creator. They just kind of stand
around and look for somebody to make a play and
then shoot at three. That's really their offense, and it
may in fact work, but I think they got some
They got some matchup problems with Victor Oladipot right. Last
year's team, they didn't really have a guy outside Lebron

(05:51):
that could cover k D and Lebron tires covering k D.
This year they don't really have a guy that can
cover Victor Oladipot. But I feel like this sport in
the NFL, you can't dog it because you can get hurt,
not just embarrassed, but you can get hurt. In Major
League Baseball, though, there are guys that uh that can

(06:16):
no show for a week or two. All of those
stats are accumulated and we kind of know who you are,
baseball status every pitch. I think the biggest difference in
baseball is stats for relief pitchers. Even if they pitch
in high leveage situations in the regular season, sometimes those
go askew in the postseason. Right that the pressure on

(06:36):
relief pictures to come in and get one guy and
to throw one strike to one specific battern to live
up to put the numbers generally play out the same
in the regular season. They they're they're gittarian, right. Derek
Jeter the ultimate the numbers were the same as they
were in the postseason. He just got enough games right

(06:57):
so that there wasn't a small sample size in the
NBA between taking play games off between a lack of
intensity because some teams are on back to backs, some
teams are playing to lose, some teams are playing to win.
It's really really hard to tell. And so we can

(07:17):
debate all we want about regular season awards. We can
talk all we want about who gets and doesn't get
an advantage from getting home court. But I'd make the
case to you that if you watched NBA games, even
some of the best regular season games, and then you
watch the games this week and you're like, Wow, that's

(07:38):
like a different sport. College football. It's funny when we
watch bowl games or we watch n c A Tournament games,
a lot of times they'll be fans are like, well,
that's kind of sloppy, guys missed a lot of shots.
Like yeah, that's actually what a regular season game looks like.
They're kids. There is a ton of pressure, but every
game is kind of ramped up pressure wise, and they

(07:58):
generally play hard every game because there's not that many games.
And sometimes in the n c A tournament you get
a guy that gets hot or you get a team
that crumples under pressure, but a lot of teams we've
seen some form of pressure before. The difference is the
big boys aren't playing home court, they don't get the
benefit of officiating, but the game, sloppy or clean, generally

(08:22):
lives up or down to the numbers. Same in college
football the NBA. It's a It felt it felt like
I'm watching a different sport, and it felt like the
hardest calculation, the hardest calculation for what the calves were
was not just because you're playing against the East and
a lot of non playoff teams, but you have so

(08:42):
many guys right, George Hill has played in playoffs in
the past, but not thirty two year old George Hill
had played in playoffs in the past. Larry Nance had,
Jordan Clarkson had, and some of them were playing in
the playoffs in a new or assumed role. We got

(09:05):
a ton to get to with Rick Buker, I want
to give a shout out to our new affiliate in Cincinnati.

Dalton nightmare finally end? For He's He's fine, He's fine.
Andy Dalton is like when your wife wears flats kind

(09:51):
of given up, Lamar Jackson's heels, Mark Jackson's heels kind
of stilettos. Right, you can ruin your feet, give you
a bunyans, hurt your calves, but there's a little sex
appeal there alright, alright, thanks for the folks in Cincinnati.
The road ahead is bound to take some unexpected turns.

We have some of the best guests. Some of them
have their own radio show, their own podcast, like Rick Buker,

(11:46):
who does an outstanding job for Bleacher Report. Uh, he's
covered this league for damn buke almost a quarter century.
You're getting super super old, but you still got you
got better hair than me, You're better looking, your families
almost as good looking as my family, but super super talented. Um.
All right, let's uh, let's let's get to Gregg Popovich.

(12:07):
They get blown out by the Golden State Warriors, and afterwards,
when asked about Kauai, he has this to say, it's
a big Kauai's reasoning. You guys, at any time to
leave up, you'll have to ask Kauai and his group
that question. You know so far they say that he's
not ready to go there, so we can't do anything
until that happens. Then we would have to decide what's

(12:28):
going on from there, But that's the first thing that
has to happen, even if he's not playing, to have
him on the bench with the guys. He's rehabbing right
now in New York, trying to get healthy. What's your
reaction to the way in which Pop is handling this. Uh,
he doesn't have much choice, honestly, Uh, it is. I mean,

(12:49):
people around the San Antonio organization know that this is
not the first time that Kauai has had an injury,
that that the length of which has baffled them considering
the uh, the the supposed severity of it, and it's
taken a lot longer for him to get back. He
knows that he is in a market where, for the

(13:12):
most part, you don't acquire top talent free agents. He's
at a point in his career. Pop is in which
the idea of drafting another star like a Kauai and
then developed him into a star probably isn't in the cards.
So it really has no choice but to try to
play this the most diploent, diplomatic way possible and and

(13:36):
see where it falls. I think ultimately his goal is
to say, if this thing goes sideways, if Kauai leaves
we're not. It's not gonna be on us because we
as the Spurs, mishandled it from a public standpoint. When
I've talked to Spurs people, they've made it clear, Look,

(13:56):
we never said Kauai was coming back. We never said
he was ready to come back. That came from other places.
And so this idea that that there is a riff,
they've tried to make sure it might have been sourced,
but they've tried to make sure that there's not gonna
be any uh retribution or there's not going to be

(14:19):
any recrimination that well, the Spurs did this or said this,
and this is what spoiled the pot when it came
to Kawad Leonard. All right, let's get to the other
rehabbing player of note Guy one two m v PS
rehabed and its one leg jumping some other sort of
rehab stuff on the floor for the Warriors win. How
close is staff to returning. Well, he's not doing any

(14:42):
any really sharp cutting right now. It's starting like the
I saw. I saw him doing some sort of s maneuvers,
some slight you know uh uh um at agility drills
where you just kind of push off going left to right,
but not a hard cut. And as we know with
with Steph, I mean this is where where the knee

(15:04):
ligaments are are going to be a major question as
far as whether he can get back under percent. It's
why I affected him so much a degree, a first
degree sprain. The last time around. We saw how much
it impacted him. This is a second degreased sprain. Now.
The beauty of or the the advantage they have is
that they're giving him all this time off. He tried

(15:25):
to come back on a quicker plane. I think that's
why they're giving in the time off, because they want
to see him back. The way Steph plays, he's got
to be able to move laterally without thinking about it.
That's how he gets a lot of his shots off.
And so until he's able to do that, I don't
see him coming back. I mean I don't see this

(15:47):
series going along, and so I would not expect to
see him until the second round, depending on how much
time there is between now and when that starts. Doesn't
it just show like look, I I was a little
bothered by their energy. Rick Buker from Bleacher Report Plus
he has his own show on Serious Sex m Channel
eight three, and he has an outstanding podcast you should

(16:09):
download as well. Uh what's it called? Swirl um shoot?
All right? This World download? Download this World podcast. Okay,
so um, Look, I was bothered by their their lack
of effort at times at the end of the season.
But the thing that I saw that I didn't see
enough people nationally point out was, hey, they're starting Quinn Cook.

(16:33):
They didn't do what most teams do when you have
an injury, which is you move your bench up to
be starters. That they didn't do that. They led Andrea
Goodal and Sean Livingston rest and still play their ten
to fifteen minutes or whatever so that they had energy
for the playoffs. And when you put a guy who granted,
Quinn Cook had a kind of a breakthrough season with
the G League and with the Warriors, but like he's
still a backup at best at this level. And I

(16:57):
and I felt like making the change Engine game one
only show that they were kind of playing possum more
than playing terrible. No, no doubt about it. They weren't
trying to go out and show their best. There wasn't
a concern that, look, we need we need to like,
we gotta figure out a way to put our best
five on the floor or best seven eight man rotation. Uh.

(17:19):
It's it's the advantage that the Warriors have over every
single team in the postseason, Cavaliers included, since they're a
new troop, which is they know how they can, they
know how they have to play to win a championship.
And as Draymond Green said after the after the game,
they know what they're capable of. And so you know,

(17:41):
Steve knew that what solutions he had available to him.
He knew he could start andre Iguadala and that would
be that would that would be an easy solution. And
but but why go to that during the regular season
and allow the Spurs one to have tape on it? Uh?
And or you not to have the elements of surprise

(18:05):
going into the postseason. So um, it made a world
of sense. It's still you know, look, there's there's other
coaches who wouldn't who even wouldn't have done it in
Game one. They they would have kept it in their
back pocket even longer. I think it was smart, especially
for a noon start where it was very disappointing. The
the Warriors faithful have now become as spoiled as the

(18:27):
Bulls faithful were you can go back through any of
the championship teams. I think Lakers fans at one point,
you have a noon start in thirty minutes before the game,
that places maybe a sixth fold and the only Warriors
chant you're hearing is from the DJ's cape and it

(18:48):
just we'll see how we'll see what they do tonight.
But it's still the first round, and that's that's I look,
I've seen it all with the Warriors, and I saw
it at the beginning where thirty minutes before the game,
they were in full throat even before the Warriors came
out to warm up. And they've gotten lazy, they've gotten soft.
The Warriors fans want to complain about their team. You

(19:09):
guys are just as best. Um okay, speaking of team
that could, that could not get the crowd into it,
and they were not ready to play. The Cleveland Cavaliers
were getting run off the floor. There was no juice
in the building, no juice in that team. And I
know everybody's like, hey, it's Lebron, he'll figure it out.
I'm like, I don't know. Um, I get they missed

(19:29):
some jump shots and they're a jump shooting team, and
the law of averages sometimes, but they couldn't guard anybody
in the regular season. They couldn't guard that team in
the postseason. What are your thoughts on what's going on
in Cleveland? Well, look, if you you hate to ever
close the door on Lebron and certainly he didn't look worried,

(19:49):
you can take that as a plus or minus. How
casually he was about about losing this game in the
way that they did. I thought one of the big
telling points it's not for me, it's not the as
I feel like I know who they are. And yeah,
if they make a few more shots that Kevin Love
gets a few more shots, Jeff Green or Jordan Clarkson,
whoever it is on the corners starts knocking those down,

(20:12):
it's a different kind of game. What I was what
was most telling to me was when they made a
run in the third quarter and they cut it too.
I believe it was sick, and they did it a
couple of times. And then and this is on your
home floor, and Larry Nance Jr. Is excited, and all
those young guys are getting excited, and the crowds excited.

(20:35):
The Pacers did not blink. Victor Oladipo did not blink.
The next thing you knew, it was back at eleven,
then it was back at fourteen. And to me that
was the most telling thing, which is one the pacers
aren't intimidated, and two the cats can make some shots
and keep it closer, but they can't put a vice

(20:57):
script on you defensively where they get all the way
back in the game, or at least they couldn't with
the pacers. The pacers are not intimidated. Victor Oladipo is
not intimidated. And as much as they only scored and
Lebron pointed that out uh, their their ability to close

(21:19):
on the drive and then get back out the shooters
was embarrassingly bad, you know, like like, look, they only
scored nine eight, but Bogdanovitch didn't hit a shot like
he missed a bunch of shots that they were Look,
the shots that they made were wide open and the
shots that they missed were wide Yeah, I look here
here was There's two things. One that the part that

(21:40):
I think a lot of a lot of people missed
on with the calves is they still have this problem
that they have to have Kevin Love on offense and
he's not terrible on defense, but if you have him,
he's your center. There's nobody to protect your rim. And
if he's your power forward, now a sudden you have
that makes Lebron has to play small forward. And they
got to being interested, which hurts their office. It's like

(22:00):
it's just miss And then there's no guard that they have.
They're like, all right, you guard Oladipo, and you know,
I know they're gonna they're gonna engage you and get
switches and try and go at Kevin Love. But there
isn't even any lockdown guard. Like I actually thought j R.
Smith did a good job defensively, but he's not he's
not built to guard Oladipo. They don't have a defender
that can guard somebody like Oladipo. Yep, no, agreed. And

(22:23):
and and the other part is that if you're gonna
have Lebron do that work, I mean, for for like,
there's a lot that Lebron could do defensively to shore
things up, but he's your only playmaker on offense, So
asking him to do both is it's just not going
to happen. And so he's going to I mean, you know,

(22:45):
even even in his like, I really couldn't. I'm often
critical of him because he gets to the rim so
easily and he posts and he can just he can
grind you away on that. But where they were, they
he was driving and kicking and guys are getting wide
open threes. Some of those they just they have to
be made. He he can't. He can't that the energy required,

(23:08):
even as good as he is, the energy required to
get to the to the paint and work with his
back to the basket. I mean, he's going to get
there with anybody. Um, you know right now, you look
at these two teams, he's often the biggest, tallest, strongest
player on the floor, which is how much this game
has changed. But that said, you're you're just and this
is what you and I talked about this, I think

(23:28):
weeks ago. This is the great flaw in this Cleveland
group is that you don't have anybody who can really
lead the charge defensively, and you don't have anybody else
who can lead it other than Lebron offensively. Um, alright,
so then let's go to Houston. Um, Look, James Harden

(23:52):
is incredible and they did win game one, and there
is a little bit of pressure on you. I kind
of feel like this is going to be a competitive series?
Am I crazy? Uh? No, you're not, You're not crazy.
I mean I think every game is going to be close.
It could be, you know, four games close, and that's
it because I just I don't like the I mean,

(24:13):
what's Minnesota doing and the game and Jimmy Butler is
taking it three and he's it's not even a three.
I mean, he steps clearly steps across the three point
line when you needed a three to to tie the game.
But forget about that. How about how about we get
the ball to Carl Anthony Towns. We get some touches
to our best player just every now and again, like, hey,

(24:35):
that guy is kind of good. Let's get him the basketball.
And then he's got to want the best ball a
little bit more. He's got a want of a little
bit more. But you I, honestly, as good as he
can be in the post, I feel better getting him
the ball on the move. He's not he's not. Tim
Duncan's not going to grind the guy. And he's and
he's and he's okay, I mean honestly, he's he's okay

(24:55):
in the post. But he's he's not. He's just not
strong enough. It's easy to kind of get him off
balance and taking off balance shots, and he's remarkably good
at taking those, but I don't want that on a
consistent basis. Yeah, but this is my this is my problem.
Whether it's end of game or it's getting Karl Anthony
Town's involved, it's it's really Mike D'Antoni the offensive wizard

(25:16):
versus Tom Thibodeau, the defensive wizard. And if this becomes
a nip and tuck game at the end of end
of games and you need a possession to score um
right now with the balance, I like the offensive guy
because he's probably gonna get you a good look and
he's got the isolation players to do it. And meanwhile,
on the other side, I mean time again, even even

(25:38):
the going back to the Denver Nuggets game that got
them into the playoffs, I'm looking at the plays run
at the end of games and I'm thinking this is
not gonna work in the postseason. And it's a little
astonishing for all the experience that Tom Thibodeau has, that
he's not better at it at this point. Yep, I
couldn't agree with you more Rick Buker love talking hoops
with them, especially now. Last thing before I let you go.

(25:59):
One of the things about Carl Towns and why he
struggled to get position. One of the reasons that I
think some of those Cavs players is it's basically a
different sport in the playoffs, right, I mean, like the
level of physicality, the level of energy, like it's it's
feels like a completely different sports than the one you
and I have been watching for the last six seven months,
for sure, for sure. No, and it's why you know,

(26:20):
on the flip side, really, uh, couldn't be more impressed
with Ben Simmons and the the uh, the immediate adjustments
that he made and the physicality that he played with.
Obviously he's playing he's playing a different position. But I mean, boy,
that as a debut for a rookie, Uh, that was

(26:41):
he was he He looked far more comfortable doing his
job in the postseason. And Karl Anthony Towns and Karl
Anthony town has got a few years on him. Yep, yep. No,
I I look I missed on, guys, that was not
what I missed on. A little confirmation bias in it, though,
But Rick Buker from Bleacher Report serious x M eight

time since nineteen eight seven a Japanese mail when the
men's division, you're not you're not giving the name of
try um no I just I don't have no I

(28:50):
and I thought it was too hard to pronounce. I
was like the Japanese winner. What I'm doing is that damping?
It's it's Yuki Kawauchi, that is the mail in her
did enough? Did you just did you just read that
and nail it the first time? Yeah? I there is
when I read a when I read out my scripts,
I have a judgment of what I can fit on

(29:11):
a page. And Boston Marathon finished did not make my
page today. No, I just but so like so I've
gone over it so like it was. It was in consideration,
but I didn't think I don't think people would know
who Desiree Linden was. No, no, no, I'm not. I'm
not in any way being critical. Police don't think think so.
I just I've just kind of amazed. Like I take
a while when I look at something to get the pronunciation,

(29:34):
and if I don't know what, I just go I
either swallow the word or just don't mention his name. Yeah,
I did. I did go over Yuki Kouchi a little
a bit before the show in case I may have
needed it. Why do I feel like CJ. Anderson had
already been released maybe because there was another Anderson, What
was the other Anderson that they had, Mike Anderson right
when the Mike Anderson back in the day they have

(29:57):
when they went through, they kind of cycled through like
they had seven different thousand yard row or seven thousand
yard rushers seven seasons in a row, going back to
the previous regime. Yeah, C J. Anderson feels like it
feels like a guy that they've had before that they
had released before, but they hadn't um anyway. Uh, A
lot of man, it's just a ton to get the
not having the the base the baseball game is big.

(30:22):
I don't know if you've ever been to Patriots Day.
It's really cool, Like you can go you watch the
end of the race. You know, people are on the
duck boats, right the duck boats are they land in
see and they go all around Boston whatever. Then people
migrate over the Fenway. And of course it's also the
anniversary tragically of the Boston Marathon bombing and ever since
it's been Boston Strong and David Ortiz, etcetera, etcetera. So

(30:42):
not having the baseball game is a big name of
weather has really wrecked havoc on major League Baseball more
so than any season I can I don't. I haven't
looked at the stats, but I would. I'd be led
to believe. I just guess here. We've had more postponed
games so far this season than I can remember in
fifteen years of doing national radio. Yeah, I it has
to be in Doug And I understand that people are

(31:04):
critical about the early star because we had opening Day
in March. The weather that we are getting in some
of these places is just unheard of. So so it
didn't matter if the season would have started March or
April fourth. To have a foot to two ft is
snow in the Upper Midwest in mid April on April,

(31:25):
that's just yeah, there was I saw, I saw Minnesota.
They got they got crushed. Um, they got crushed. And look,
And I don't know how much of you guys pay
attention to changing weather patterns, do you guys? Do you
guys followed any of this that the I can't remember
what the line is called. This, Uh longitude is which
way longitude is up to the top to bottom right

(31:47):
longer longitude latitude is is sideways? Okay, so longitudeal the
longitudeal like center of the country has kind of moved
in the midwest to where there are parts of the
Midwest that used to be more kind of desert southwest
and the the arid planes, and that's kind of moving

(32:08):
eastward eastward by like a hundred miles. Part of changing
weather patterns, but part of the other changing weather patterns.
And people think, like when we were ten years ago,
we say always global warming, but that's not it's it's
it's very too simplistic a term. It's global climate change
means you have higher highs, lower lows, and places that
used to not get a lot of rain get a

(32:30):
ton of rain. Players places that not get a lot
of rain get no rain at all. So it's really
crazy and at some point baseball is gonna have to adjust.
I've offered this up. I know it probably does. It
sucks if you're in Minnesota, but dude, you built the
open air stadium right Toronto. By the way, they have
a leak in there in the retractable dome. I don't
know if you know that's an old place, Roger Centers old.
They're actually struggling if they're gonna have a game tonight

(32:53):
because they got a leak. They got leaks in the dome,
but at least they have a dome to you know,
a roof to put it on. Like if this is
all drop here to their in baseball this matter. And
then Toronto's arena. If you saw the Raptors game one
was delayed because there was condensation on the floor because
they had a leak in the roof. But my easy
solution is, hey, if you don't have a dome, you

(33:13):
don't host the game till May one. It's just right
unless you're in warm weather. We got plenty of other
stadiums do the math, and occasionally you can fit one
in in the Kansas Cities, in the d c's whatever.
But you know, you got Miami, nobody goes whatever. Maybe
they go if you give them all the Miami a Tampa. Um,

(33:35):
you got all the Texas places, you got Arizona, you
got all the California ones. Those are all good to go.
Seattle's got a dome, like, there's plenty of options out there. Yeah,
maybe it stinks for your early season attendants or getting
it going, but I mean, is it better than than
what they had in Chicago. I don't know if you
guys saw that was that crazy? It was that Friday,

(33:57):
that crazy game where they scored eight runs and like
the eighth inning and I'm not sure they hit a
ball out of the infield. But it's like in snow,
there's like fifteen people. There is awful nine people in
a White Sox game. Like that's better than not playing
a game at home till May. I don't think so.
The road ahead is bound to take some unexpected turns.

(35:09):
award winning musicians start off a tune with a cliche. Right,
bigger they are, the harder they fall. Yeah, that's the jam. Man,
that's a hit. The hit, that's a hit. Uh, there's
a lot of good TV like yesterday. I guess it
was a good uncomfortably good TV day for a beautiful
day in southern California. If you live elsewhere in your

(35:29):
weather sucks. Sorry, but at least yesterday was a good
weather a TV day, right, A whole bunch of uh
of NBA. Then you had the c M AS and
you had the Comy interview. That's a pretty good little
TV day there. Did you watch either c M A
S or Comey interview Ryan Music? I did not. Actually

(35:49):
was just telling Ramos that country music not really my thing,
so that ruled it out, and I didn't really think
to watch the comy interview. I don't know. It was
the one thing where I was just didn't make an
appointment television, right, Ramos, you did you watch either? That
would be a negative. I did not watch either. I
probably should have watched the comy any because I thought

(36:09):
that might be interesting, but I'm also not a big
country music person, so sorry, but neither you guys went
to Coachella, and yet you're you're like, if you don't
like country music, there's like every other musician ever is
you know, hour and a half from here, but neither.
You guys have a bunch of inks. I don't know
how much you or you don't vape either, so I
don't I don't know how much you'd you'd hang out.

(36:32):
All right, let's let's get bag. This is game time.
You love a bigger tax refund. Tax Layer is the highest,
it's highest rated for maximum refunds. You have more cash
spend on whatever the heck you want to spend on
this season. Go out and slay it. Maxual refunded tax
layer dot com. Damn byer. What's the game? Game today?

(36:53):
Is big deal? Little deal? No deal? Big deal, little
deal or no deal? That? Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell is
considered questionable for tomorrow's Game two against the Thunder because
of a bruce left foot. I think it's a little deal.
He said that. He kind of played it up. He
said it hurt more in the moment they had. Look,
I you heard a foot and you you yelp. I

(37:15):
feel like feet. That's a that's a bad deal. But
he seems to act like he's okay. Um, if he's okay,
I'm okay. Big deal, a little deal or no deal
that During last night's Game one between the Timberwolves and
Rockets in Houston, Masters champion Patrick Reid was at the
game wearing his green jackets. I kind of think this

(37:35):
is a big deal. Like I I got the whole
Knicks thing, and I get that he's from Texas, but
I kind of like, hey, Patrick, like trying to put
that sucker away, right, Like you're really going to get
something on it. You're you're you're you become nib high
football rules guy with the letter jacket. The hey man,
we won the state back in seventy two, right, Like

(37:57):
I said, you know, yesterday was Sunday. That's a week now.
We gotta put that puppy away until until you have
the champion's dinner. Sergio Garcia was married in his green
jacket and also wara to Wimbledon, but that's when he
was in the royal box. Yes, that's also a special occasion.
I don't think game one versus the h It's the
NBA Finals. Game one versus the Minnesota Timberwolves is not special.

(38:21):
Occasion worthy. Big deal, little deal or no deal that
Duke has lost its entire starting lot up to the NBA.
Now that Wendell Carter Jr. Made it four freshmen who
are heading to the draft. Of course, Grayson Allen the
other member of that starting five. It's a big deal,
you know, Duval I I don't Duval. I don't know
if he would have had a starting spot. I think
he would have started. Trey Jones uh coming in and

(38:42):
take his spot. Look, wend O Carter thought long and harder.
I kind of think he should have come back. He
loved college. He's not gonna stop being a pro prospect.
And I think big guys get beaten up when they
go truly to the NBA. But this was all honestly expected,
and they have, by some people's accounts, number one, number two,
number three player in the class coming in next year.
Big deal, a little to learn. No deal that Patriots
quarterback Tom Brady will reportedly miss some offseason workouts because

(39:04):
of travel and also because he wants to spend time
with this family, according to ESPN, I think it's a
big deal. I think it's a big deal. I do
you know they kicked Guerrero off the off the premise,
he took away his office and all of his special privileges.
They just lost the Super Bowl. You know, we'll talk
about this upcoming. I think it's a bigger deal than
than people are letting on. All right, let's wrap up

(39:26):
with this then, big deal, little deal or no deal
that the Seahawks today signed backup quarterback Austin Davis for
the start of their off season. Davis famously beat the
Seahawks with the Rams and was their backup last year.
This is kind of a no deal. This is game
time on the Duck Gotli Show. This tax season, you
refund will go further at auto Zone thanks to the

I do think we can retire the nickname Debot. James
Harrison retired today. His name name was Debo. Debo, of course,
was taken from the bad guy in Friday. Friday is
over twenty years old. I love Friday's references Friday references,

(40:10):
but it's getting a little bit dated. Just like case
in point. James Harrison retires. We retired the nickname Debo.
Can't call anybody else Debo. Need a newer, bigger, bad guy,
right tough guy. Uh Bill Belichick doesn't have two stars
at his O t A s. I'll tell you why.
It's a little bit bigger deal than I previously thought.

(40:32):
Next in the Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Radio, Whoop
Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. M M. Coming to
you for the sunny city of Los Angeles, California. We
have not one, but two NFL teams getting ready for
the NFL drafts a week and a half away. I

(40:55):
had a couple of interesting discussions over the weekend with
some NFL people. Really asked to see what happens with
these quarterbacks in the draft. Some of the misperception of
how guys are being evaluated. We'll get too as we
lead you up to the NFL Draft. We've got a
couple of interesting programming notes. Guys are gonna join us
Charles Davis from the NFL network and from Fox where

(41:17):
the Fox and the NFL network gonna join us at
twenty after the hour, and then next hour, my man
Ryan Rissilo is gonna join us so Ryan Silo, formerly
of the other Place, where I think he's still technically
other place. He's got the podcast now, but not the
radio show. He has moved to the best coast. So uh,

(41:40):
we gotta we got a bunch of things to get to.
Bunch of things to get to. In regards to how
big a trouble are the calv legitimately in and look,
I don't want to overreact and say this series is
over in any way. We've seen this too many times
with the NBA plass where a team just plays poorly.
But man, there was an energy deficiency and and a

(42:03):
quickness deficiency that is really really hard to fix in
you know, a couple of off days, but they're gonna
have to and what ultimately becomes of Kauai and the
Spurs that with Roussillo one hour away, I wanted to
get to this story because Danny Amendola is now a Dolphin.

(42:26):
He's a dolphin. He went reverse West Welker And this
is Danny Amendola, who um, he had a great catch
in the Super Bowl. He had his best season as
a Patriot this season. But let's also remember the Damnian.
Danny Amendola was a lot like some of the other

(42:48):
guys that Bill Belichick has brought in, danniem and Danny
Amndola struggled to stay healthy when he was in St. Louis.
That was one of the reasons the Patriots were able
to get him right he was. He's been a not healthy,
I can't get healthy guy for several organizations and he
had that problem. He had that that rep with the Pats.

(43:09):
Here's Dannie Amendola talking about playing for Bill Belichick. You know,
so it's not easy, that's for sure. Uh, you know,
he's in sometimes. But a lot of things I didn't
like about playing for him, But I must say the
things that I didn't like, we're all in regard to
getting the team better. And I respected him. You know.

(43:29):
I didn't like practicing in the snow. I didn't like
practicing in the rain. But that was gonna make us
a better football team, and that was gonna make me
a better football player. It wasn't easy. He would be
the first to admit at at the Rings ceremony that
it wasn't It wasn't easy playing for him. You know.
The silver lining is that we were at the Ring ceremony,
which is which actually goes in direct contrast to his

(43:54):
other thoughts regarding Malcolm Butler. Right, I have my thought
because I was out there putting my blood, sweat and
tears out in that field and one of our best
players wasn't on the field. To tell you the truth,
I don't know why I did ask, but I didn't
get any answers. I can't make decisions like that, so
I don't necessarily worry about it. But I know that

(44:16):
Malcolm's a great player and he could have helped us
win for whatever reason he wasn't out there. He's gonna
play more football in his career. He's going to be
there for a long time. Huh huh. So look, I
I understand that when Brady is not there. And do
I think that Brady has gotta beef a little bit?

(44:38):
Do I think that Grons gotta beef a little bit?
Do I think they're the same beef? I do not.
I do not. I don't think that Brady is sitting
there not going to o T a s because, uh,
because Malcolm Butler didn't play except for one play in
the Super Bowl. I don't think. I don't believe that

(44:58):
for one second. I don't think he likes the fact
that his personal trainer had some of his privileges revoked.
I think that I think that has a distinct possibility
of being a reality, right and um, I think that
this is a little bit of payback for that. I

(45:19):
also think that Belichick is probably going to draft on
some level and air apparent quarterback since he's trade away
two backups who would become starters elsewhere. And I'm not
sure he wants he wants to be down with he
he knows the offense, doesn't have to install the offense.
He doesn't have to be there, but he probably should
be there. Um. I think it's kind of fascinating to

(45:46):
me that people relate to Rob Gronkowski deal to Malcolm
Malcolm Butler. Gronk's not there because he wants a new contract.
He got his contract reworked last year. But in Tip
Nicole smart Patriots fashion, it was all incentive late and
they didn't change anything except for, hey, have you hit

(46:08):
these incentives will give you some more money. And some
of them he hitting some of them. Most of them
he didn't because ground struggles to stay healthy. And when
they got him the ball in the second half of
the Super Bowl, he showed just how dominant he was.
I mean, that's a dominant football player. But I fall
back on what Damny, Emma Danny Amondola led with is

(46:30):
the reality of all of this stuff. It ain't fun
to butt heads with Tom Brady and his trainer, but
you know what, he treats Tom Brady like he treat
almost anybody else. It ain't fun to have to sit
Malcolm Butler, but you know, look, they probably wouldn't have

(46:52):
been in eight Super Bowls if to steal the expression
that Bob McNair used, the inmates ran the asylum whatever
Malcolm Butler did. And Alcolm Butler wasn't playing particularly well,
and like, remember Malcolm Butler, this part hasn't been reported
a bunch, but it actually is. It's reported he said it.
Malcolm Butler said he wasn't feeling well on the Sunday

(47:14):
before the Super Bowl, so he checked into the hospital.
So the guys not playing well and he checks into
the hospital and misses the team playing. Like, I don't
know about you, guys, but first, if you're not feeling
well and you're part of a professional sports organization, the
first people you go to is your team doctor. Their

(47:38):
first name isn't doctor. They are actually doctors. Secondly, once
you get admitted to a hospital that has to leave
everybody around you and thing like, man, some's really wrong
with this guy. Then you missed the team plane. That
only feeds that assumption that something's really wrong with this guy.
So I don't think it was one thing. I think

(47:58):
was a bunch of things. But all this stuff the
you know, it's not really that fun. No, it's probably
not that fun for Rob Gronkowski to play in a
dated contract considering his talents. That's why he went out
and he got Drew Rosenhaus because Drew Rosenhau's promises everybody,
man will hold you out. We'll get you more money. Money, money, money,

(48:21):
That's what we're gonna get you. In the end of
the day, all he could get was because the team
had him under contract. All he could get was a
rework deal with a bunch of incentives in there, a
bunch of bonuses in there, some that he hit something
he did. So do I think all of this is related? Sure?
Do I think some of them are miffed over the
Malcolm Butler thing. Yeah, But I also think their miffed

(48:41):
because that's Bill being Bill, but Bill being Bill is
what's gotten them to aid Superls. And if you want
to say that Rome has fallen, cool, who are you
taking the Ac East, Ryan Tannehill or maybe Baker Mayfield
or whoever they draft In Miami, the New York Jets

(49:01):
pulled off one of the most atrocious trades in the
history of the draft. It wasn't that they traded up
for the third spot. They trade up for the third
spot like three weeks before the draft, not knowing who
would be available at that third spot. The Buffalo Bills
ton of draft picks no starting quarterback were gonna take.

(49:25):
So does it look like there are issues, Yes, Brady
probably has an issue with him. Gronk has an issue
with him. Those issues are not the same, And I
don't think they have anything to do with Malcolm Butler
and Danny Amendola. Leaving wasn't because Danny Emmon wasn't because
of Malcolm Butler. He got more money to go play elsewhere.

(49:46):
He had one season where he played sixteen games. That
year he had twenty seven catches. You know, he was
fifty four six sixty one catches. This year he had
his most yards as six and fifty nine yards, receiving
a good player. He's a nice pieces. Just a piece,
it's replaceable. And with Edelman back, Hogan back, going out

(50:11):
and getting Franklin from from Buffalo, just a piece. They
got Brady, they got Belichick, they got Grunk. Who else
are you gonna take? In the FC East, Rome had
its problems and did ultimately fall. It'll fall in New England.

(50:33):
But I think calling it now it's calling it too early.
Calling it too early. The road ahead is bound to
take some unexpected turns. Farmers Insurance can help you understand

(50:54):
thoughts on New England. How close are we to the
fall of Rome? If you will? Plus, Dez Bryant gets released,
but apparently, at least by his own estimation, wasn't offered
any sort of pay cut deal. What to make of
that we'll discuss next the Doug Gotlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio.
Car shopping can be confusing, with terms like dealer price, list,

(51:17):
price an invoice price. True Car shows what other people
paid for the car you want. You can recognize a

car buying experience. Doug Gotlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. Charles
Davis works for Fox, works for the NFL Network. He's
an NFL Network draft analyst. Corpse Fox and the NFL
Network have are gonna work together this year on the

(51:39):
NFL Draft. He joins us on the Doug Gottlieb Show. Um,
I want to start actually with some news that came
down Friday. Dez Bryant released by the Dallas Cowboys and uh.
He then promptly does an interview with with Gent Slater
from the NFL Network, and he talks about Jason Garrett's
guys and that's what worked behind his act. What's as

(52:01):
a guy who has covered this thing for a ton
and was a player himself, what's your reaction to des
being like go by the Cowboys. I wish the Cowboys
had let him go at the start of free agency
so that he could have had a, you know, for
lack of a better way, better opportunity to hook on
with someone because Doug, he's not gonna have a chance
now until post draft. No one's going to sign a

(52:22):
free agent till they see what they get in the draft. Now,
I wish it had happened then. The reaction not a surprise.
I mean, anyone who's been in that position has been
hurt stone. There's nothing worse than someone telling you they
don't want you. And Dez has always been the defiant one.
You know, it's always going to be someone else did.
Someone didn't throw me the ball the right way. Someone

(52:42):
didn't do this the right way, someone didn't do that.
So it did. It didn't surprise me, not one bit
too to see it go that way. And those guys
get were out to get me. I wish, I wish
I had any surprise that met Doug. I've got zero,
I know um And but there there's a little confirmation like, oh, yeah,
that's why I got cut right like and and I
actually think the reason that they held onto him was

(53:05):
he had an opportunity to to, you know, listen, let
me come and kind of come in hat in hand,
and Jerry tried to make it work, and you know,
Stephen and some of the other guys like this is
not gonna work. It's not gonna work. And then it
became up we gotta do it by Monday. So Jerry,
you gotta handle it on Friday. That that's the reason
for the time. All right, So what is what is
his value? Where does he fit? What? What is he?

(53:27):
I just I guess my fear Charles is or maybe
the reality I think is He's not an Kwon Bolden.
He's not Larry Fitzgerald. These guys that can have a
two point Oh and if everyone says, well, like what
he could be a great downfield blocker, he could be
you know, keep going the slot like dude des Bryant. Doesn't.
He thinks he's still Dez Bryant. Like that's that that

(53:48):
that just doesn't work. What do you think he is? Yeah,
you have to be willing to do those things. And
you just mentioned two of the all time great prose
and I don't care what sport it is is Larry
Johnson and Kwon Bolden. Those guys come to work every day.
They may not like certain things. Look, let's just be
frank about this, all right. When Larry Johnson got moved

(54:10):
inside Larry Fishery, I keep making basketball in my brain,
my problem, my apologies does. But when he got moved
inside to the slot by by you know, Bruce Arians,
he didn't want He wasn't excited about that at all.
That took some convincing, That took some soul searching. And
once he made that move internally. Now remember none of

(54:32):
us heard about it outside did the building, but he
wasn't excited about going in there. And once he did,
this is what I have to do. You saw as
you mentioned the two point oh which continues to this day.
I would be highly skeptical that Deaz would make a
two point oh move because of what you said. He
still thinks he's that guy, but he hasn't been that
guy the last three seasons. Now, can he trade it

(54:53):
for a year of anger and I'll show you and
have a bigger year? Of course he can. This is
branch ricky. You know the old adage of mahatma hat
traded guy, or getting rid of a guy year too
soon rather than a year too late. He could easily
do that. But in the long run, how many teams
are going to see him as a wide receiver one?
I don't think very many. Charles Davis joining us on

(55:16):
the Doug Gottlief Show here on Fox Sports Radio. UM,
I want to get to the NFL draft stuff, and
there's a lot discussed about these quarterbacks. But one thing
I've heard when I've talked to NFL people in regards
to Josh Rosen is, Hey, you know, personality is quirky,
but there's also some issues with his durability. He heard
his shoulder and that's why he stopped playing tennis. Is

(55:37):
a very good tennis player. He heard his shoulder in college.
What are your thoughts on the durability issue outside of
the personality quirks that people talk about with Josh Rosen?
Ed in the concussions, that's that's that's a bigger one too.
That's what teams are analyzing and focusing on. You remember
last season, Doug, I forgot what game it was where

(55:59):
he came matted the ballgame, and I believe brock Heward
of ESPN that was discussing this is going to go
into his overall analysis in the NFL about finishing games.
You know how he played during that time frame there,
that's a big question mark for him. You know, how
teams are gonna rate it and as you've seen across

(56:20):
the board, Doug. Each team rates medical different ways. I mean,
there is no universal medical. That's why we hear all
the time. This guy got traded from this team to
another team, failed their physical, came back. I had it
last year with Jeremy Lane up in Seattle, got traded
to Houston, failed their physical, came back to Seattle, played
that weekend, so they passed their physical. So it all

(56:42):
depends on how people view it, but is a it
is a big time discussion for the teams who have
him rated highly on their board about durability, Kenny handle
all of what what's about to come towards him and
what is the past done to him? Sat Colon Barkley's
everybody's number one Rador running back. But everyone also says
this is a running heavy draft. So find the balance
for me with Hey, there's been some highly I mean

(57:06):
Todd Gurley living up to that building, Zike Elliott living
up to that high. So as much as those of
us who look and we're like, well, you know you
can get value in the third or fourth round. How
do you evaluate Charles on whether or not you go
early with the say Kwan Barkley or you wait and
have patients and take maybe a lesser commodity, but it
will cost you less and less pressure you can get

(57:26):
something else early. For me. For me, it's organizationally. Where
do you see the running back taking you? Do you?
Are you building around the running back? Are you that
type of the team? Remember with Gurley when he got drafted.
That was Jeff Fisher's regime. And how did Jeff Fisher
have his biggest success when Eddie George was getting it
tucked in his chef twenty to twenty five times the

(57:47):
game and then you threw off of that. So getting
Girly was a big deal. Plus in today's football, girly
can get out and catch the football as well. So
so that was a nice ad. Zeke Elliott Cowboys were
trying to reach create two fourteen with DeMarco Murray. They
recreated it in a big way with Ezekiel Elliott. So
that's what it comes down to for me. And I'm

(58:07):
probably the wrong guy to ask because I'm an old
school If I've got a top runner, I'm probably gonna
wear him out. Like John McKay used to say, the
ball is not that heavy, even though it's not the
smartest thing in the world, and I want to run
that way with my guys. So I'm a big advocate.
If I have the best runner in the draft and
I have that type of the team, I'm not gonna
shy away and say, well, I can get something like

(58:29):
him later. I'm gonna go get it. Other people don't
see it that way, and you know it's it's caused
for good argument because Kareem Hunt was a third rounder
last year let the league in rushing. Charles Davis joining
us on the Doug Gottlip Show. If you're the Cleveland Browns,
who do you draft? Whoever my top quarterback is is
the first guy is my is my draft choice as
much as Barkley is the best player in the draft

(58:50):
in my humble opinion, and I you know, there's a
screaming need for him. As someone said to me today,
Doug Hugh Jackson needs say Kwon Barkley, John Dorsey, the
GM can draft a quarterback. And what he means by
that is he's gotta win early next year. Okay, I
know that they brought him back, but one in thirty one,

(59:12):
he can't. He can't get out of the month of
September into early October and not have a win or
two on on on the stat sheet this year. S
Klon would help him accomplish that quicker because he already
has Tyrod Taylor. But if you're the GM and the
franchise overall, you've got to decide who your top quarterback
is and go get that person and try and restart.
You know, whatever number this, whatever number this reboot would be,

(59:35):
you go get that and hope and hope that Barkley
is still sitting there for you. Four. Yeah, okay, But
but my question was who would you take your Who
would I take? Which quarterbacks? Oh? Yeah, I'm taking Donald
at the top. I'm taking Sam Donald. I'm I'm crazy
for Baker Mayfield, but I'm going Donald at the top

(59:56):
of that board because this kid, I think at twenty
years old, there's a better chance for him to grow
and what they're going to do there, he'll be able
to sit a little while behind Tyrod Taylor, although I
don't think it would be very long and grow with
him that way. I think that overall he's the best
quarterback in the draft. I am just I'm just nuts
about Mayfield because I have a little bias doun because

(01:00:17):
I saw him as a true freshman take over a
team at Texas Tech. I saw him take over a
team at Oklahoma when he went, there's another walk on
and do the things that he's done. I know the
other stuff is there, but I don't think it's enough
to deter me from one to have Baker Mayfield running
my team. Uh. Is he Russell Wilson? Is he Case Keenum?
Is he Johnny Manziel? I'm taking because you want him

(01:00:39):
that high? He's not Manzel. So he's you closer to
Case or is you closer to Russell Wilson. He's closer
to Russell because of the ability to throw the ball
from the pocket. Russell can do that well. Um. Case
Keenum of course can do that and showed that last year.
Still better. All three of them are better when you
get them movement game and move them rounds for their

(01:01:00):
launch points. But I think he's more like Russell because
of stature. He's taller than Russell Wilson, but he's built similarly.
They're built stronger. They're both about two fifteen pounds or so.
You know, Case Keenom is not quite that big. Um, Okay,
So you do something with these x Tex shoulder pads. Right,
How are these How are these shoulder pads different than

(01:01:21):
the shoulder pads you and I were growing up. I
think it's the x R D military grade foam, and
I don't know. I'm not going to pretend to know
exactly what that means, except I've got a son who
played high school football that I put in these things,
and I wish I could be there with you now
and show you the tests that they can do where
they could pop them on, put you down, put a

(01:01:42):
hit you with a hammer. The whole thing. It disperses
the contact, so kind of like you know, you want
to have the things that disperse and take the energy
away from the initial part where you hit, and take
it and spread it out and make it easier. That's
what this stuff does. You know. It is lightweight, doesn't
absorb water. The guys who designed it, Bob Roderick and
Teddy Monica. Teddy's a longtime NFL equipment guy American Maid Company.

(01:02:05):
And here's the thing, Doug, they saw the game moving
to where we are now before the rest of us didn't.
What I've mean by that is, what are the things
we're talking about taking out of the game. Head head
contact right, all those things, all the things that you
and I grew up watching guys blow people up. We're
not doing that now. We're going back to old school
football where the shoulders and tackling with shoulders, blocking with

(01:02:25):
shoulders is way more important. That's why these pads are
are are so crucial, and what these guys have done
it kind of taking it to the next level to
modify it. Fit each player individually, fit them for how
they play, what they're going to do. And that's why
guys like von Miller endorse them, why guys like Khalil
mac O'Dell Beckham belive Manning. They're wearing them because they're

(01:02:46):
the best things out there. You could use a promo
code draft and go to ex tech pads dot com.
You get off your order things to Charles Davis. Last thing,
the Pats don't have Tom Brady, don't have Rob Gronkowski
At O t A, I offered up that if Brady
is bitter, it's not over the Malcolm Butler thing. It's
over the fact that Guerrero, his trainer, isn't allowed in

(01:03:07):
the building anymore. And Gronk his thing is about money.
Right last year he held out and he wanted his
deal reworked, and they put in a bunch of uh
incentives to get him to come back. I don't think
that relates to the Malcolm Butler um. Do you think
the Fall of Rome is close in New England or
do you think we're still still a couple of years off.

(01:03:28):
I think we're still a couple of years off. It's
only close because Tom Brady's in his forties, and we
know that once it starts, it usually doesn't. It usually
goes pretty quickly when guys are at the end of
their career. But this guy keeps defying it. So I
still think it's a couple of years off. I don't
think they were there yet. And look, it's the Patriots
were finally seeing kind of inside the building which we've

(01:03:49):
never seen before, which started last year with the trainer.
Now Danny Mundol is very honest to you know interview.
But how did he end it? Doug? Yeah, But in
the end, we were all playing for rings, weren't we exactly.
I don't think we're very far away, I know. And
and it's like, hey, are you gonna pick the Jets,
the Dolphins or the Bills in that division? And they
think the answers answer is known. It's real simple until

(01:04:12):
further notice. You picked the Patriots and sleep well at
night until someone shows you different. By the way, the
last two times of Patriots didn't win the division. They
actually tied for the division. The other teams wanted on tiebreakers.
So you talking about the last seventeen years, technically you
could say the Patriots of one Day fast crazy. It's
it is its insane, absolutely insane. Charles Davis. Check them

(01:04:33):
out on the NFL Network and their draft coverage also
on Fox as well. Falling on Twitter. Charles, great stuff

(01:04:56):
any day baseball today, knowing no that Red Socks Orioles
game postponed because of weather in Boston. No Cardinals Cubs tonight.
They did hold the Boston Marathon. The first time since
eighty five an American woman won the race. Desiree Linden
the winner. On the men's side, Japan's Yuki Kawauchi, becoming
the first Japanese man to win the race. Seven. Also

(01:05:19):
another race that finished up today, Doug Food City five
and NASCAR Kyle Bush ended up winning that tonight. It's Bristol, Tennessee.
I was under the supposed started in the lights of Bristol, Tennessee.
Or is it right? Isn't Bristol in the lights? Um?
I don't know when yesterday's was. They had to postpone
it them Bristol is almost always under the lights. And
that's the super high banking track Bristol Short Track. Yeah,

(01:05:44):
and that's where they played the football game. Yes last
was that last year? Virginia Tech played there two years
it was this past. Gosh, yeah, you're right. Now that
I'm thinking of it, I'm like, okay, yeah, that was it.
That's one of the ones. That's when like the two
races I'd like to go to a NASCAR Bristol and
Talladega because it just feels like, like, you know, going

(01:06:05):
to the Dayton of five doesn't feel like going to
a NASCAR event. I know it's the super Bowl, but
going to the super Bowl is not like going to
a football game. Going to a bowl game is not
like going to a college fall. It's like when people
visit southern California, if you go to Hollywood, you're like,
that's not what Southern California is really like. When you
go to New York, you go to Midtown, That's really
not what New York City is like anyway. Yeah, Bristol

(01:06:26):
and Richmond a couple of famous short tracks that you've
got there, and uh yeah, I'd agree with you. I'd
rather see a short track. And it's tough when they
have those big super speedis even out in Fontana. We've
been out there. It's you just see him go by
anyway quickly. I just to keep going. Yeah, that's all right.
Game too tonight heating six or eight o'clock Eastern tom
Spurs and Warriors playing their game too as well. In Oakland.

(01:06:46):
Andre Iguodala is gonna play to spread a thigh contusion.
Jas Gar Donovan Mitchell questionable for tomorrow's game against the
Thunder because of a bruise left foot. Duke center Wendell
Carter Jr. Heading to the NBA Draft. Vikings have agreed
to terms on a five year extension with linebacker Eric Kendricks.
Broncos released running next C J. Anderson and James Harrison,
retiring after fifteen seasons in the National Football League. Linebacker

(01:07:09):
spent most of his career with the Steelers, also spent
a little time with the Bengals, and wrapped up his
career with the Patriots. Thanks Dan, Doug Gotlum show Fox
Sports Trade. It's down time for a bigger than life performance,
brought to you by the movie Rampage. Here's all the
depot right of center, three ball all the depot with
thirty two. He has hit six three point baskets. The

(01:07:30):
lead is seventeen. Speaking of bigger than live performances, bigs
meats bigger in the movie Rampage. When you picture a
blockbuster Hollywood movie, this one has it all. Dwayne Johnson, Gigantic, Monsters,
epic action, dumbas Rampage now in theaters. It's ready to
PG thirteen. Now I I have received, I guess rightful
criticism when I miss on. Guys, you know old takes exposed,

(01:07:54):
When old takes exposed, let me have it. But I
do occasionally get it right, and I want to PA.
I want to pat myself on the back. June three,
Paul George, excuse me. July three, Paul George has traded
from Indianapolis Pacers, Indiana to Oklahoma City. Here's what I said.
As for Oklahoma City. Everyone is saying, and I heard

(01:08:17):
all my all my colleagues on Fox Sports Radio, Oh
the Pacers lost this trade. Dolmas Sabonis started sixty games.
He's not great, but he's a legitimate NBA player. Doma
Seonis is gonna be the NBA for ten twelve years
period stop. And I've never been an Oladipo guy. But
when you're starting over to get two guys who are
legitimate NBA players who started last year who started I

(01:08:39):
don't know, it was like a combined hunter in games.
That's better than getting draft picks. It's absolutely better because
you're not as much as Oladipo's contract looks like it's terrible.
Look at the contracts coming out this week. By the way,
that that was that was instant analysis from Israel as
I was doing. I did ten is in Israel this

(01:09:01):
past summer, and when I said with never I never
thought Victor Oldbo be a star. I didn't and he is,
you know he is. I don't think he's not yet
a superstar like you know, we can get into difference
in star and superstar whatever. I thought he would be
a really good hybrid athlete. You know. The shooting he's

(01:09:21):
not a good enough shooter, and and he's not a
great passer. He's not a great ball handler. But he's
become a star because his shooting's better. Uh, he is
dynamic where he's so athletic trying to keep medalings. Ball
handling is better, is passing is better? His defense? He
said to maybe what I underrated most was he's a
two way player. A two way player, which is really

(01:09:44):
hard to quantify. Right, We have a tendency to to
just look at things. But um, Oklahoma City, who I
do think would be a tough out for Houston if
they can advance. After Paul George just absolutely exploded yesterday,
everyone said they won the trade and the Pacers, like
Paul George, didn't want to be here anymore. So it's

(01:10:06):
depreciating asset. And we got two guys under club control
for a long time that make as much money as
Paul George. It ends up being a great trade for
the Pacers. For the Pacers and give Kevin Pritchard a
ton of credit. You know, it's interesting you look at

(01:10:28):
his contract and you think, like, what's a bad at
the time we try and sign that contract. Wow, that's
a lot of money for Victor oladipot Um. Now he's
gonna make twenty one this year, twenty one in the
next three years, seems like a ton of money. Pick

(01:10:48):
out a player Ramos you think is at his level
in the NBA. You mean, give me a guy who
you thinks at his level, you know, like I don't.
Some of the scoring burs are skewed because they don't
have another go to score. Remember it's really important. Like
Kemba Walker is the all time leading scorer with the Hornets,
but if you put him on and a playoff consistent,

(01:11:11):
playoff caliber team, he'd probably be their third or fourth
best score. I think he's best in a Jamal Crawford role,
you know, seventeen to twenty a game. So give me
a player you think is Victor Oladipo's equal or or
close to equal. Well, maybe it's Jimmy Butler. I think
maybe Butler's probably better, huh than Oladipo. It's not a
it's not a terrible comp's it's not a terrible comp um. Okay,

(01:11:33):
So let's look at what Jimmy Butler is UH is making.
Jimmy Butler, of course places in Minnesota Timberwolves. His contract
is uh, his average salary is eighteen million, but it's spikes.
He goes from eighteen million UM to nineteen million, and
then he has an he's an understricted free agent, so

(01:11:55):
it's about the same. It's about the same amount of money. Yeah,
I think that's a it's a good camp. And when
Jimmy Butler signed it and he'll be an unrestricted freeation
at the end of next year. It was a five year,
ninety two million sounds like a huge deal. Now guys
are signing hundred fifty plus to two fifty million dollar
deals from the previous collective partner agreement. So look, twenty

(01:12:22):
one million is a lot of money, and I just
can't even can you even fathom what that's like? Have
we ever do you ever stopped? Like my Sun and
night we were watching and he was I took him
Friday before his flag football game he needed to get
something to eat. I was like, hey, that's going on
a sushi day, dude, and he's like, I don't need sushi.
So we went. He got some like chicken they say

(01:12:44):
chicken and rice bowl. We were watching the we're watching
NBA stuff and he was asking how much money people
make and they're like that, how do you even spend
that much money? Like, I don't know, I don't I know.
There's a generation of professional athletes have gone broke. I
would like to think we're past that. These guys are
making so much money it seems impossible. But Victor Oladipo, Wow,

(01:13:13):
is that a great performance. Let's see if you can.
Game two is really telling you you go up two
games to none, although Chicago went up two games done
in Boston last year. Of course, Rondo got hurt. That
really hurt them. That that changed that series, as well
as Isaiah Thomas coming back from the death of his sister.
The road ahead is about to take some unexpected turns.

Prescott have anything to do with Dez Bryant getting cut?
Skip Bayliss has some thoughts. You'll hear him next. We're

(01:13:54):
gonna do it right here. Let's go back previously on
the Dunk God Leave Show, back into Town and getting
that interview the great Ray Allen. He's kind enough to
spend some time of this year on Fox Sports Radio.
Michael or Lebron? You obviously played against Michael, You played
with Lebron. Lebron is he'll go down, as you know,
the most dominant player in his generation. But what I've seen,

(01:14:17):
you know, I to I face value. You know, Lebron
is an incredible player to stop the dominant. But what
I've seen in MJ was MJ did not have a
weakness at all. Doug Gotli Show, Fox Sports Radio. Once

Every day we'd like to bring back a portion of
a Fox Sports one TV show or a Fox Sports
Radio show. It's an interesting topic, interesting take, and then

(01:15:00):
I get my chance to give my take on it. Um.
Here's Kip Bayliss on the role that Dak Prescott played
in Dez Bryant being released. Dez Bryant is a force
of nature personality who just takes over a locker room
and he doesn't even try to do it. It just
happens because he's has a big nature about him and

(01:15:22):
and he's volatile and emotional, whereas every feeling on both
sleeves and you either by completely into Dez Bryant or
you don't, and you can't have him at five million
dollars next year when he knew in his heart of
hearts he was scheduled to make twelve because he will
make waves, he will make trouble, and I think he

(01:15:42):
made a lot of trouble for this young quarterback. And
I do think they finally decided he is stunning the
growth of a Dak Prescott. Because Dak Prescott through a
quarter of the past his last year to eight because
he's a reader of the defense. He's a progressions one
to three. And almost every time, especially as the last
five six games a year, Des is getting singled, singled,

(01:16:05):
And that's just saying I gotta thought to eight. Eight.
Eight led the league and dropped passes. Eight couldn't separate
from anybody anymore. Body betrayed and body breaking down, lost
his confidence, lost maybe two steps he didn't have in
the first place. And Jerry Jones loves him to a fault.
And I still think that it took Steven Jones and

(01:16:25):
maybe Jason Garrett to finally say, Jerry, you gotta come
around and come to your senses here, because he is
hurting us from the inside out. I couldn't agree anymore.
I couldn't agree anymore with Skip Bayliss, with the exception
of I just I'm yet to be proven that Dak
Prescott is some elite level of quarterback. And remember, as

(01:16:45):
much as Des made too much money and you've got
to replace Dez, you look at their wide receiving gore
and you tell me who they have left who's going
to get open. Jason Witten is washed man, right, But
I do think that some of this comes down to
a personality conflict and a Dak Prescott going, you're the

(01:17:08):
old regime. You talked about how great Tony was. Tony
talks about how great it was the throw to you
even we broadcast game to take a listen to. It's
almost like it's almost like he goes into robot mode.
This is Dak Prescott asked about Dez Bryan almost goes
into robotic. The words are meaningful, but the way in

(01:17:31):
which they come out of his mouth are just not warm,
I mean sad. Now, that's a brother to me. Put
the football stuff behind you. What he meant to me
as a person, when he meant to me as as
a brother. Stuff to see. But shows you men, it's
a business. Um. It motivates me on it does this,
It motivates me and put all this. I just gotta

(01:17:53):
go to work. Yeah that wasn't I'm telling that guy's
a legendary cowboy. He was unbelieved doable to me. Oh,
I am crushed by it. Crushed. Dez Bryant's not a
cowboy anymore. That is devastating to me. Somebody said he's
like a brother to me. He's like a brother to you.
That's how you're talking about a brother. Ask me about

(01:18:16):
my brother. I'll go into a little bit deeper response
of than you know, it's a business. It's my brother,
but it's a business. But I, uh, yes, before you go,
can you take that knife out of your back because
I need to keep I need I may need that later.

(01:18:38):
Let me need that later. Man. That's tough. That's he's
like a brother to me. But it's like a business
really motivates me. I mean, uh and and I and
I understand it. It had to be done. Skip was
completely accurate with the Jerry didn't want to do it.
And they're like, look, Jerry, this is your guy. You're

(01:18:59):
gonna have to cut him. Well, you know, we could
move some money around, and like, no, you can't, Jerry,
you gotta go cut him. And then of course I'm
sure Jerry did the whole Like listen, I wanted to
keep you. You're a cowboy for life. I wanted to
keep you. But Jason and Steven, some of those other

(01:19:20):
guys and Dak, they weren't so sure about you buying
into a lesser role. That's how the conversation went, Jerry,
Jerry should have done the it's not you, it's me.
If he just did the it's not you, it's me,
it would end up it would end up a lot better,
regardless of which. It was a divorce that had to happen,

(01:19:44):
and it did. Car shopping, if you can be confusing

Remember this with with Dak Prescott. He didn't do anything

(01:20:04):
to get Dez Bryant released, but he also didn't do
anything to get Dez Bryant saved. This is the classic
lebron move, right, like, yo, I didn't get him fired. Yeah,
but you didn't get him saved. You're the franchise quarterback
and you say, look, I want I want Dez Bryant
on my team. Figure it out, fellas. So the I

(01:20:28):
didn't do anything, This wasn't me. There's no blood on
my hands. There's always blood in your hands when you're
you know, when you're the franchise guy basketball football. Otherwise,
all right, Coming up next, Ryan Rissilo is going to
join the show. We'll talk to NBA playoffs, how bad
is it for the Calves and how weird is the

(01:20:50):
relationship between Kauai and Pop and uh Rockets won? But
I kind of still think the Warriors the favorite, even
though I haven't seen him play with step yet. Mike Crazy.
We'll discuss next in the Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Tradeo.
What up Doug Gottlieb Show, Fox Sports Radio. You know,

(01:21:12):
it's always fascinating to me on when they talk about
playoff intensity, right playoff into his games played with playoff intensity.
You know, it's played with playoff in density, the playoffs,
playoffs and play Did you see the end of the
regulation with the Celtics game against the Milwaukee Bucks? All right,
like the Bucks hit a three to tie the game,

(01:21:34):
Rosier comes down and just I mean Eric Butz already
has one sort of repair of need almost needed to
knee replacements after he got shook. Rosier step back three
whap point five seconds to go. You're like, all right,
that's the game. And Milwaukee catches and shoots and hits
a three to send into overtime, like as good at
ten seconds as you're gonna see in all of sports.

(01:21:57):
I would make the case to you that I always
thought the difference between regular season baseball and postseason baseball
was the greatest jump. I think that's changed. Look, part
of what's different with baseball is there's not full houses
most of these regular season games. So the energy is there,
and a lot of it is. We just don't pay

(01:22:18):
attention to it. We don't pay attention to it. The NBA,
we do pay attention to the houses are the games used,
the big games there are full houses. You know, they
send a tennants record this year. But the differences you
can get away with not playing as hard, not being

(01:22:39):
as physical they do games and for whatever reason, baseball
we also track every stat so it's like, you know,
relievers that they're coming in to try and get paid,
so they're still trying to get you out there, whereas
there's not as much tracking of if you get beat

(01:23:01):
defensively late in the fourth quarter of a regular season game,
doesn't feel like that gets tracked. Maybe a little bit
more now with analytics like it used to. But you
get to the playoffs and every play matters. The game
is way more physical, way more physical and it feels
like coaches scattered reports are way more in depth that

(01:23:24):
you also had a little bit more time to prepare
for the games. But the whole thing is so much
it's a different sport. It's not a different level of
the sport. It's just a different sport and it's a
whole Ryan Rastilla is going to join us in in moments.
The road ahead is bound to take some unexpected turns.

(01:23:46):
Farmers Insurance can help you understand your coverage options with
our practical knowledge game. For more than ninety years of experience,
we know a thing or two because we've seen a
thing or two by an agent Farmers dot Com are
So here's the issue with with the Calves, which you know, like, look,

(01:24:06):
part of this is the exact same thing we could
say about the Patriots is if you're not going to
pick the Calves out of the East, who are you
gonna pick with Boston all banged up? Toronto? Yeah, fine,
they finally won a game one at home, but they're
they're a one seed and they were celebrating beating an
eight seed like like they won the lottery. Tells you

(01:24:28):
all you need to know about Toronto. Nobody's buying Toronto
long term, even Indie who looked great in Game one,
Like you're really buying the Indiana Pacers. It's just hard,
hard to buy it, hard to buy in. But I
look and I I look at this Pacers Calves thing,

(01:24:52):
and you know, so much of it is about matchups.
Just is Victor Oladipo when he hits six three six
ft nine from three, he's gonna be a tough batchup.
He just he's gonna be a tough batchup. Um, so

(01:25:12):
I there's nobody in the league that's gonna guarden. But
but some of this is tell me who the defensive
stopper is that guards a Victor Oladipo For the Cleveland Cavaliers.
They're a team that's gotten away for years, was switching
every screen. The problem is you can't switch when you
have Kevin Love on the floor. You just can't. Jeff
Green completely completely crap the bed. So they have matchup issues,

(01:25:38):
they have intensity issues, and they only really have one
shot creator and that's Lebron James. But if if if
watching this thing for forty years, if breaking this thing
down for fifteen years has taught us anything, we can't
freak out over Game one. But we can freak out
a little bit, can't we. Bryan was solo, joins joins me,
he's got his own podcast. Of course, he's done his

(01:26:01):
own national radio show. Uh, he just moved to the
best coast. So now he actually finishes watching these games
and then has a life afterwards. Refreshing, isn't it. Yeah,
it's weird. I don't know what to do with myself.
You know, you get done. All right, let's let's let's
start with the Calves. How big good trouble. Then, well,
what's so shocking about this is if they were gonna stink,

(01:26:22):
they're gonna stink on defense because they've been terrible on
defense all the year. I mean, they don't practice. I
think they practice as little as any team in the league.
And when you watch their defensive problems, you could actually go, okay,
this is fixable, because there's just so bad, like losing
somebody in the corner on baseline on you that switches.
Now the things that you would see them screw up,
you go, well, these offs like's hind of fixable. And

(01:26:43):
then you go, okay, they're gonna put the switch and
all these different things. But their offense was terrible yesterday,
and you know too, to live in that kind of
zone over, Okay, we'll just turn it on and then
you can't get any buckets and you let them come
out of this lead, and the Pacers are like, you
know where this team and that that absolutely no one
talks about if people talk about the Wizards more than us, um,

(01:27:05):
I thought that was really weird. I mean it was.
I don't want to get real worked up, because I
could totally see Lebron in this whole group coming up
with them hitting threes and put up a nice score
against the Pacers in game two. But to see them
lose in the opposite version of how I thought they'd
lose was really just so surprising. And there was no
there just seemed to be no energy. There's no pop,
like yo, this is the playoffs and they're just shooting

(01:27:25):
jump shots and couldn't couldn't seem to affect the game
in any other way. That's what I don't get is
you know what, what is? Is it even cooler now
to flip the switch on like after game two of
the first round, like you want all of us to
believe that this switch is possible, and because of Boston's
injuries because of the just unknown with Philadelphia and the

(01:27:48):
fact that the Raptors have getting three years of evidence
that they're kind of soft team that you go, you know,
I could see Cleveland getting through this thing again, like
who you're really scared of play like that? And you go,
so what are we supposed to do? I'm just supposed
to give you the benefited out until it's three one? Yeah,
I I think my my working thought was that every
series would be difficult, right, that there just wouldn't be one.

(01:28:11):
Do I think that that Indie can beat them four
times in seven games? Not? Really? Um, I just don't.
On the other hand, I think that Indie could who
do they play? Who do they play? The winner of
I'm gonna have toldly even lost on on the brackets,
you know, right, so Jack, So could Indie beat them? No?
But if Indie beats them two times or Indie beats

(01:28:33):
them three times, it changes how they look against Toronto,
like again, and we don't know which Toronto shows up
because there were times in which that game one was
in doubt. And even if they beat Toronto, you know,
you know, let's say they get to the Eastern Conference Finals,
and whomever they play on that side. You know, whether
it's the seventies six ers, who again I'm not sure

(01:28:54):
what they are in in crunch time and a big
but if it's a if it's a Calves team that's
already older, that's been stretched out and they played a
six game series. In the seven game series, I sure
like a younger team's leg in that legs in that
series more still than they would if they just played
straight up fair. I think it's totally care But then
I also kind of remind myself, like when I get

(01:29:16):
to these negative modes watching Cleveland, I go, you know,
let's not let's not let the negativity that you're stacking
up here, watching the cast play tricky whto thinking their
own problems. All these other teams, like when Washington was up,
I mean, the Raptors Washington series for me is so
funny because there're two teams that completely doubt their toughness
because again they've given us so many examples to doubt them,
and the Wizards are up and you're going, you know,

(01:29:36):
talib wise just want to match up, but this is
not but this isn't this isn't this massive gap in
ability here based on these rosters, it really isn't um.
But then Toronto's down and you go here, they're go again.
They're gonna lose it home again for the second decade
in a row. And then the Wizards can't get a
bucket and then they fall apart. And you know, other

(01:29:57):
than deal in Wall and Wall isn't the most efficient.
But I think I stick up for him a lot um.
You know, I think you and I would agree with both,
like but some like you're like, how come it is
it better? And then auto Porter, who's a max guy
that if I said you, hey have auto Porter gets
zero points in the class. Yeah. So you know, all
of these other teams. Whenever I'm watching Cleveland, I kind

(01:30:20):
of do this thing where I checked myself and go, okay,
but but you know, as bad as game. I mean,
obviously get through the Pacers first, but you know there's
a lot of awards on these other teams too. Yeah. No,
it's the it's the everybody's talking about the Patriots today
with Brady and Gronk, and I know you miss hosting
a daily national radio show where you'd have to, you know,
rehash that that whole stuff. But Ryan was Stilo joining

(01:30:41):
us in the doug Out lip Show. But but it's
still if you don't think the Patriots are gonna win
the FFC East? Do you do you like the Bills?
Do you like the Jets? Do you like the Dolphins?
Kind of his kind of kind of the same thing.
It is, no, And that's what I love about these
teams in the top. Now, Cleveland's sufficiencies are are a
deal okay, But New England we're talking about other two
oil and there. Look, they lost the Philly but they

(01:31:03):
lost in the Super Bowl. And you know it folds
his sacked on that one play where he's dropping back,
you know, another play that was a little bit more
than just to bounce of the ball one or another.
But that's two plays away from the Patch winning this
whole thing. So like when I when I hear about Turmoil,
I go, well, you know, termbo to be six and ten, okay,
when Alabama is all of a sudden figured out by

(01:31:25):
it by a dual threat qub so um yeah, but
figured it out and like a last second throw in
the National let's fourth place. So the Cleveland thing, if
it's over, it's over earlier than most of his expect
we'll go ahead. There was plenty of signs. There were
plenty of things to look at here because the team

(01:31:46):
never jelled. And the thing is that Lebron has kind
of kidding the fact is amazing to see his band
since January. He's completely I think, covered up for the
fact that most of his teammates, other than a few
games love is way to put average below average. Yeah, yeah, no,
I mean, there's there's a reason these guys were available
from from their previous team. Everybody seems to like, oh Man,

(01:32:09):
Kobe Altman, he killed it, Like, yeah, there's a there's
a reason that the other teams moved on from Ryan
Risilo joining us. You can download his podcast, Doug Gotli Show,
Fox Fox Sports Radio. Um san Antonio gets stomped by
the Golden State Warriors. Not terribly surprising. I love that
Golden State chooses only the playoffs to start Andrea Goudala
instead of starting Quinn Cook, you know, a G League

(01:32:31):
player at at the point guard position. But what was
maybe more interesting was this back and forth. Here's Pop
afterwards talking about uh Kawhi Leonard Kawai reasoning, you guys,
at any time to leave up you don't have to
ask Kawai and his group that question, you know, so
far as they say that he's not ready to go there,
so we can't do anything until that happens, and we

(01:32:51):
would have to decide what's going on from there. But
that's the first thing that has to happen any value,
even if he's not playing to having him on the
beach with the guy he's you have and right now
in New York trying to get healthy. Yeah, um, that's
that's just it's the whole thing is is fascinating. How
does this end? It's so weird because you know, based

(01:33:12):
on Kauai's personality and you're like, wait a minute, he's
one of those dudes, like we always tell them up
as not being one of these dudes. And it would
be like all of a sudden, Gronk ending up a
Rhodes scholar and retiring early just to start like, you know,
like some community outreach thing with some some scientific formula
that no one else has thought of. He'd be like, oh,
I didn't see that one coming. Um, but it but

(01:33:34):
it ends this way, and that he's not going to
go back to San Antonio. Now I'm not guaranteeing that
on your show right now. But I can only tell
you that based on every conversation I've had, and you
know how it is around the league. We start talking
about stuff that's going to happen in months and months
down the road. I mean, hell, I'm already a year
ahead on possible stuff that people are like, Hey, pay
attention to this, But there isn't another team, and there
isn't an agent in the daily soap opera that is

(01:33:56):
the NBA that thinks Kauai is going back to San
Antonio and Pop giving you that second part of that
answer where he's saying Kauai and his group, that's that's
the word on this. Like a shoe deal fell apart,
and they thought it was a low ball offer from Nike.
They thought he should make way more. I think he
was only making like a half a million on this
current deal. We're talking about a finals MVP. So it

(01:34:17):
feels like, hey, whatever it's been, that time is over,
and that he needs to build his brand, and that
he's looking for different things, and that he doesn't want
to be into the Pop regime. And the fact that
you know right now san Antonio is actually selling the
idea that he's hurt, when a lot of people don't
think he's hurt because they feel like that's a better
answer to this mystery that the guy just doesn't want

(01:34:39):
to play with his team right now. So, um, I'm
not saying it's it's a certainty, but I'm just telling
you that everybody in this gossip, every time Kauai has
brought up, nobody thinks he's going back to San Antonio.
Now that you've seen him play playoff caliber basketball. We
still haven't seen Steph, but you watch him workouts. Reasonable
think he's going to return for the next series as

(01:35:00):
of today, Houston, Golden State. Who do you take well
based on you know, the conversation that I've had about
Curry is that you know him going through this kind
of m c l. Sprain before it helps him understand
who he's going to be when he comes back, and
that they're being really cautious with this, and that I've
been told when he comes back he could to go,
and that's likely, you know, the second ground, because I

(01:35:20):
dont think San Antonio has not to extend the series
on list School and State besides a turn off that switch,
but both healthy. I'm taking Golden State. Golden State is
multiple Offensively, there's a million things that they can do.
I actually think Houston's isolation versus the multiple switching defendors
for Golden State, I'm not as afraid of it if
I'm Golden State as I think everybody else is, because
Houston has looked incredible from start to finish, and then

(01:35:44):
people are throwing that seven and ten clothes for Golden
State of the regular season, where I'm going, yeah, but
that's just not who they were. So when it's in
front of us and one looks unbelievable and formimable um
and the other one looks like a cheap version of
itself with just a team that on year four is
a little over it emotionally, it just doesn't have that edge.
I can understand how everybody likes Houston, but you know,

(01:36:04):
Houston doesn't do a million things here that you have
to worry about. And that's where I still think gold
State has the advantage. But as we've learned, without Curry
or Curry like, he's the one that makes them go,
he's the one that makes them so impossible to defend.
And if he comes back and doesn't look like that
or something else happens with one of these other injuries,
it opens a door for Houston. Yeah, I also think
Houston if if you get oklooma city in the next round,

(01:36:25):
that that's not as good a draw. I think Minnesota
might win a game or two. They just they do
have enough to kind of mug it, muck it up
and keep it, keep it close. They might want to
throw the ball to call towns. It's at some point
in time. But can I jump in on that. Yeah,
I think that Tibbs was kind of calling out towns
a little bit because the the Minnesota day to day

(01:36:45):
part of it will say this is on towns too. Yes,
And I I said that to start to show, he's
gotta they have to want to get it to him.
He's gonna want to get the guy want the ball.
I've been told that those guys all do and get along.
Some of them don't like tips someone like other and
that that's why it looks that way as well. But yeah,
I think that. I mean, I look, this is kind
of what we started the show. It's a different sport

(01:37:06):
than regular season basketball, and that you got you got
to demand the ball, and you know, Jimmy Butler is
not as afraid to go demand the ball. Now, it
doesn't look great what they're doing at the end of games,
but yeah, I do think it's a little bit on him. Yeah,
I hate them. It's weird because I love that roster
when I look at Minnesota and then I watched him

(01:37:27):
play and I go, Okay, so bat switched Georgy Jang
long two heels on the three point line, hits it
with like two seconds left before the shot clock expire,
and you go, that's a terrible possession. But it went in.
So like they're in that game last night and they
can't defend. They still can't defend anybody, and I mean
Houston and they shoot ten of thirty seven and went

(01:37:48):
at home. And honestly, even though the game was close, Dug,
I didn't feel like I was never scared like Minnesota
offensively in a close, tight game. It's just another good team.
They don't scare me. I agree with you. But I
do think they'll get one, and I think they're gonna
keep them all close, and then I think Oklahoma City
can beat him a game or two. Ryan Rissilo download
his podcast Appreciate you joining U my show we'll talk soon.

(01:38:09):
Man Ryan Russillo joining us on the Doug gott Leave Show.
We'll go to the Bay Area. Next, Warriors look locked
in in game one, but can they can they remain

We'll take you to both Oakland and Cleveland. Next, the

little line up update, a little uh Spurs Dubs update,

(01:38:51):
and they're gonna take you to Cleveland. In between, we'll
do like au Dan buyer sandwich right, Dan Buyer in
the middle, and um buyer likes. I don't know what
is his favorite sandwich. I don't know. If he's listening,
what do you guys think he turkey? Turkey? You guys
think turkey. I would I would say he's from Listen,
he's from Wisconsin. Has to be cheese involved, has to

(01:39:13):
be but has to be really good cheese. Like they
are cheese snobs there. They love a good cheese, but
it's gotta be some some cheese might be a good munster, right,
like a turkey and a munster cheese, or maybe a cheddar.
I don't want to find out a little Dan Buyer Sandwich, Oakland,
Dan Buyer Cleveland, because we need people. We don't know everything,
but we know people that know what you want to know.

(01:39:35):
You know, it sounds like you need a guy. I
got a guy. This tax season, your refund goes further.

(01:39:57):
and DIBs. On ninety five point seven the game in
the Bay Area. I I hate to see their team clapper,
but they did kind of clap on and start to play.
A lot of it was, hey, let's let's not start
Quinn Cook who didn't start of the season in the
G League. Let's start Andrea I guadala Um. And of
course you know, starting a legit shot blocking center as

(01:40:19):
well really helped. Is that the plan going forward or
only the plan for Game one against the Spurs? I
think at most, Doug, and thanks again for having me on.
It's always a pleasure to talk with you. I think
that at most you'll see it tonight in Game two,
and then possibly Kerr makes an adjustment depending on what
he sees. You have to remember, Saturday was just the
fourth time JaVale McGee has gotten a playoffs start in

(01:40:41):
his career. His most recent playoffs start was in Game
three of the Western Conference Finals last year against the
San Antonio Spurs, in a game he performed quite admirably,
and we saw that again this past Saturday against San Antonio.
The key of the Iguadallas start was twofold number one.
It gave Golden State five defenders who were six six

(01:41:03):
or taller. That length, as you saw, really stifled the
Spurs in their attempts to get the ball inside. I mean,
when it was all said and done, Golden State outscored
the Spurs two in the paint. That's very rare for
a Golden State team that prides itself on its outside shooting.
Number two starting Igwadala not only jump starts the defense,
but it gives Quinn Cook the opportunity to come off

(01:41:25):
the bench, which is the role he's going to assume
once Steph Curry gets healthy. So it gets him into
a rhythm, and it also puts him in a position
where he's not going to be on the court to
start the game. Big stage, bright lights give him an
opportunity to get acclimated to his first playoff runs. Well. Plus,
you're playing against Tony Parker, who's the shell of the
Tony Parker of his former self, right, you don't there's

(01:41:46):
a reason that guys performed sometimes better defense. You're not
playing against as good as good as players. What about
Steph Um He wasn't doing sharp cuts, but he was
running around. He was jumping on the on that knee.
What's your sense of the like that he returns during
this series. There are some rumors that he could be
ready if needed for this series, but remember what happened

(01:42:06):
last year with Kevin Durant in the Portland series. If
they needed him, they could have gone to him, but
they chose not to because they had enough star power,
enough firepower with everybody else that they were able to
give Katie more time to get ready and rehabed for
the next series. And I think that's the same thing
they're gonna do here. They don't need Steph Curry to

(01:42:27):
get past this iteration of the San Antonio's first And
let's be honest here, this is a dysfunctional basketball team.
If what was happening between Kawai Leonard and Gregg Popovich
and the Spurt organization was taking place with Russ Westbrook
and Oklahoma City, with Kevin Durant in the Bay Area,
Lebron or Harden, this would be a national story that
would dominate headline. But because the Spurs have had so

(01:42:49):
much success over two decades, and because Kauai is such
a soft spoken individual, everybody gives them a path. Make
no mistake about it. We shouldn't get caught up thinking
about the Spurs and who they were. Think about the
Spurs and who they are. And right now there are
teams that is severely overmatched and they have no answer
for what Golden State's gonna throw at them. So I

(01:43:09):
don't see any way this series goes past five. I
picked it in four before that game on a Saturday,
and I don't think Seth's gonna be needed. The question
is when they try to get him back in the
second round, if they rush them or if they give
them some time against either in New Orleans or Portland's yeah,
or or do you or do you put him into
this series in in a game four where you can
bring him off the bench some and get in some

(01:43:30):
action instead of going zero to a hundred and play
him as the start. It's really really difficult. I tend
to agree with you, Joe in regards to the Spurs
being overmatched. But maybe maybe Pop has some trick up
as sleeve that we don't know about. But I don't
I don't see it with this personnel. Joe Fort bad
point seven the game. In the Bay Area. The show
is called Mornings with Joe Low and DIBs. A really

(01:43:50):
really good one falling on Twitter at Joe Fort and
Baud Joe, thanks so much for being our guy in
the Bay Area. Always a pleasure. Does thanks for having me.
I got a guy. Um, let's go to Dan Buyer.
I got a guy named Dan Buyer. Favorite sandwich is
what peanut butter and jelly lighter wheat white um you
cut horizontally or diagonally, um horizontally. Do you eat the

(01:44:15):
heels of the bread? Yes, I love you. I love
you even more now. I know you're already married, and
I don't go that way, but I do love you. Yes. Yes.
The NBA playoffs we love those and I love you too, Dougs.
So the feeling is mutual. Game Tues tonight heating sixers
should be exciting in Philadelphia eight o'clock Eastern time. You're
just talking some warriors. Actually, they've got the spurs at
ten thirty Eastern. Andre Igodala will play despite the thigh

(01:44:37):
contusion Jascar Donovan Mitchell questionable for tomorrow scheme too against
the Thunder. He has a bruce left foot after having
an m r I. Today. Some news from college Hoobes
Duke lost their entire starting lineup to the NBA. The
new Grace and Allen was moving on, but so did
the four freshman as Wendell Carter Jr. Made it official
today he is going pro. Vikings have agreed to terms
on a five year extension with linebacker Eric Kendricks. Denver

(01:45:00):
released running back C. J. Anderson. A linebacker James Harrison
retired after fifteen seasons in the NFL Pirate second Basement,
Josh Harrison's gonna miss about six weeks because of a
fractured hand, and Kyle Bush when the Reindelaide Food City
five hundred at Bristol today, while Desiree Linda became the
first American woman to win the Boston Marathon since nineteen Doug,
back to you, thanks so much. That's the one and

(01:45:23):
only Dan Buyer. Half past the hour. We gets you
up down everything going on in the world of sports.
You're on the Doug Gottlieb Show. We also take you
to places where guys just no more than us. All right,
let's go to chrispoa door Uh Calves, reporter for Cleveland
dot Com and a host a nine two point three
the fan in c Town. He joins us on the
Doug Gotlip Show at Christo door f E d O

(01:45:44):
r is I spell his last name. Um. There there
wasn't much pop in their step. I know they missed
them open shots. The defense hadn't been great, and it
wasn't great. I'm just I'm trying to figure out what
you fixed first of your tyron, Lou. Yeah, I think
that's the fair question, Doug, And I think that's what
they were trying to figure out today. Um I mentioned

(01:46:05):
earlier today that he was going to contemplate some lineup
changes and maybe cutting down his rotation from ten to
nine or eight. So after looking at the film, there
were some things that they liked. They actually thought their
defense was better, and they keep preaching that they only
gave up ninety eight points to Indiana, even though Oladipo
had thirty two himself. UM So I think they're looking

(01:46:28):
at the next level things of Okay, we've got to
play harder, we can't turn the ball over and let
them get in transition, and maybe we do have to
contemplate some lineup changes. He I think they're going to
look at that. He also said they didn't play their
five best players on the floor at once, which I guess, like,
congrats for admitting it, But that's a strange thing to admit.

(01:46:52):
Who are his five best players? I think that's an
interesting question. I think it varies from series to series.
Think that's the thing that they have to figure out
here as they go on, And I think it's the
reality that faces this team. Doug. This is not the
same group of Calves from the past where you can
sit there and say, Okay, if they flip the switch,
they can reach a level that no other team in

(01:47:13):
the Eastern Conference can reach because they're just not made
up that same kind of way. And they're going through
this postseason asking a bunch of questions, what are we
going to get from Rodney Hood on a nightly basis,
I don't think they know what are we going to
get from Kevin Love? Is the number two options as
opposed to the number three option? What's our best defensive
scheme for the personnel that we have? What's our pet

(01:47:36):
play offensively? Like all these things they're still trying to
figure out. And I think when it comes to their
five man group in this particular series against Indiana Doug,
I think it's lebron in some combination of four shooters,
because the minute that they put either Jeff Green on
the court or Larry Ans Jr. On the court, or
Tristan Thompson if he can find a way to get

(01:47:56):
back into this rotation, um, I think Indiana is going
to defend the Calves in a different kind of way.
Use Miles Turner against all of those guys and say
we're going to dare you to beat us from the outside,
Jeff Green, or we're going to sag off of you,
Tristan Tompson, or we're going to sag off of you,
Larrynns Jr. So I think if the Calves really want

(01:48:17):
to get this offense to a level where it is
a leak again, especially in this series, Um, I think
they're gonna have to go Lebron and four shooters. Um.
Lebron wasn't freaking out after after the game, or at
least he wasn't openly freaking out. Was that a level
of confidence or is that this is who we are
and he just knows, he knows there's this is the

(01:48:39):
the end is near. So I think the ladder actually
I kind of got that vibe. And I feel like
in the past you could see Lebron where he goes
into a series and he kind of just knows, Um,
he knows what he has, he knows what he doesn't have.
He's won a championship, he's won multiple championships, so he
knows what it takes in the Eastern Conference is better

(01:49:00):
this year, and I think he understands that this is
the toughest road since coming back to Cleveland, that he's
going to have based on the personnel that he has
on his side, and based on the team's doug that
he's going to have to face just to get to
the NBA Finals, if the Calves can get that far.
So I got the vibe of, like, man, I don't
know that my team has enough going into this particular

(01:49:24):
postseason run. That was the vibe that I got. And
and the last time I felt like he had that
was when the Calves were dealing with a whole bunch
of injuries in the first go around, when he came
back and Kyrie was less than and Kevin Love was
eliminated from the postseason in the first series against the
Boston Celtics. UM. But at that point he only had

(01:49:46):
to carry the team and lift the team on his
shoulders for one series, and that was against the Warriors. Now,
I think it's kind of eye opening that he has
to be superman um for three series in the Eastern
Conference and then once again in the finals, and I
think there is a little bit of I don't think
I have enough with this group. Chris the Door cas

(01:50:07):
reporters from Cleveland dot Com and host A ninety two
point three The Fan at Chris A. C. H R
I s F E d O R on Twitter. Chris,
thanks so much for being our guy in Cleveland. You
got so you need a guy, We got you a guy.
What do you guys think music? Do you think it's
it's Lebron going and this is it that's the best
they could do Sometimes it's gonna be like this or

(01:50:29):
do you think it's it's quiet confidence? Hey man, I'm
the last got to ask. I'm down three to one.
Three We've I've been down three, one and one. I
think it's more the first one. And I've sort of
thought that all season long with the Calves and Lebron
in terms of they've sort of fluctuated between where they
rank in the Eastern Conference, but we've all sort of
known as long as Lebron is healthy on that team

(01:50:51):
that they're probably going to be the team to beat
in the East. But in terms of the bigger picture,
when Lebron James really only cares about getting more titles
and the whole comparisons to Michael Jordan's, I think he
knows the reality and he's known it for a while
that this team, the way it's constructed, the cap situation
that they're in has no shot of winning a title
against whoever comes out of the West, let alone how

(01:51:12):
difficult it's going to be for them to come night
in and night out and get through the East in
the playoffs when last year was a total cake walk. Mhm,
I I can't. I I kind of think this is
Lebron doing his Lebron thing. And and here's what I
mean by that. Remember last year in the playoffs when
he was asked if he was getting tired, and he's like, hey,
I'm averaging a triple double, I'm not tired, which, um,

(01:51:35):
which sounds good. But his his play in the fourth
quarter was not be good statistically. His play was awful
in the fourth quarter by anyone standards, little in Lebron standards,
as opposed to k D was playing better in the
second half than Lebron was. Um. So, I think what
Lebron said then was what he said yesterday, which is

(01:51:58):
this ain't my fault. I'm fine, I'm doing my job.
Everybody else isn't doing their job. It's one of the
it's one of the things about Lebron which I just
don't like, which is he has a tendency to want,
you know, to have everyone want everyone to kind of
bow down in his presence, And yet there isn't the um,

(01:52:20):
There isn't the acceptance that overall team performance does does
does somehow significant signify your personal performance, Like you can
go for like Lebron's in this place to where if
he goes for forty and the rest of the guys stink,
it's like, look, I'm good, they stink like, No, that's
not really the way it works. Even if it, the

(01:52:43):
reality of it is he is that much better and
his team isn't his level. Let's being down two oh
would be now we'd start to okay, maybe they just
don't have it. Let's Visualdibo's not a six of nine
three point shooter, all right, they're not gonna miss that

(01:53:04):
many threes. Like, do I think they have enough guys
to break down the defense? No, I think that's the flaw.
The other flaw is it's like Quarver has got a
foot problem, plus his brother died, but you can't there's
nowhere they can put him on the floor. They can
garden anybody. You know, Kevin Love can really shoot, but
he still struggles to find somebody he can guard. They

(01:53:27):
have several shooters that come off the bench, and it's like, yeah,
they can really shoot. J R. Smith was their second
best player, and he was actually doing a good job defensively.
But we've seen when Jared Smith plays starters minutes as
a starter, there are flaws to his game because he
can't do anything off the dribble and to take bad shots. Yes. Uh,
I was gonna say a couple of years ago, they
got these guys for the sole purpose of matching up

(01:53:48):
well with Golden State. Correct, And now you're saying, well,
they match up better with them, But now they don't
play any defense. They can't guard anybody. So now they're
outmatched by an Indiana Indiana team that they can't guard. Well, yeah, yes,
this this team a little bit. They struggled to guard
a little bit. Um. I I do think that when
they got Jay Crowder, the idea was Jake Crowder can
and nobody's gonna stop KD. But he can rough up KD.

(01:54:11):
So you know, I think they thought, hey, we get nance,
we get hood, we get some length and some youth.
But the problem with with with youth is you have
no idea how those guys are can perform in the playoffs.
They can make a shot if they can be nearly.
Because it's a different level of game, you have a
different type of evaluation. The road ahead is bound to

(01:54:31):
take some unexpected terms turns. Farmers Insurance can help you
understand your coverage options with our practical knowledge game for
more than ninety years of experience, we know a thing
or two because we've seen a thing or two financing
at Farmers dot com. As about the Jazz, uh, they
in trouble, they any in trouble. We'll discuss next what

(01:54:53):
we're gonna do right here, Let's go back previously on
the Junk Godly Show, back into time this as you
win the jacket at the nixt game, did you have
anything to eat when you're at the game? I didn't
help starving. Krick Rock is there and he's like, hey,
you know, you can't have any teas on your knock, Joe,
you can't have any musters. You can't get that on

(01:55:15):
that jacket. And I'm like, oh no. I was like, yeah,
We're definitely not easy to get around. That was my
fear for you, Patrick Reed joining US Master's Champion, And
I don't know if you're this way. The nicer the coat,
the nicer the outfit, the more likely I am to
get something on it, exactly, And that's why I've avoided
food when I've been around the Jackets so far. Patrick

(01:55:36):
Greed apparently on a diet. Right. We saw him wearing that,
wearing the jacket last night, um at at the Rockets game.
I just look, I have I don't have a Master's
green jacket. I don't Will Farrell, by the way, wearing
a green jacket. Um, going back last Monday to the
Laker game was incredible trolling that was that was really remarkable,

(01:55:58):
and so I'd like to say, like, yeah, I'd wear
it all the time, or I wouldn't wear it to
other events. My My point is only I have no
problem if you're gonna break it out for big events.
Rockets Timberwolves game one is not a big event. It's
just not. When you're the one seed, you get the
best record in Rockets history in the m v P
and James Harden, the expectations are Western Conference Finals, green

(01:56:18):
jacket or NBA Finals, you break out the green jacket. Yes,
Ryan Music, I mean, Patrick Reed is not known for
being a slender man. So for what, as you were mentioning,
you think his wife's going, hey, you know what, it's
another good night. You should put on that green jacket
just so he could stays away from the that that's
that's that's her. That's her way, that's her. That's her.

(01:56:40):
That's her. Huh, that's her helpful hint. Hey, how do
you know what? That green jacket looks great? It looks
great on you. It's got a slimming effect because I
don't need anything like, Yeah, you should put it on.
You should wear it more press Would you love to
get a bigger tax refund? Tax Layer was highest for
mac rady to high US for backs from refund. Do

(01:57:01):
you have more cash to spend on? Where the heck
do you want to spend it on this tax season?
Go out and slay at max a refund a tax
layer dot com dan by what he got Well. I've
argued that green is one of the toughest colors to wear.
Just I mean green. It's a tough color to look good.
It is. Some people are good and blue, some people

(01:57:23):
are good and red. I think it's tough to pull
off a green shirt jacket when it's the master's green jacket.
It's a little, yeah, a little different, little a little different.
Definitely a spring. How about purple as of the Utah
Jazz War last night? Donovan Mitchell may wear it tomorrow.
The question is may questionable for Game two against the

(01:57:43):
Thunder because of a bruise left foot. He didn't play.
They got no shot. I mean, boy, things are coming
up aces for for the Thunder, who kind of struggled
at something at various times to get into the playoffs.
They get in and Paul George goes playoff Paul mode,
playoff Paul George kind of like playoff Joe Flacco. Completely
different player. Although last year he couldn't make any of
these game winners, he would make it everything yesterday. This

(01:58:06):
would be good news. I think it should be really
bad news for the Rockets. Not that the Rockets aren't better,
that the Rockets can't spread them out, but I do
think that, um, look, they have a ton of size,
a ton of length, and a ton of scores that
will make the Rockets if that would be a highly
entertaining series. Linebacker James Harrison retired today after fifteen seasons
in the NFL, spelling most of it with the Steelers,

(01:58:28):
also time with the Bengals, and wrapped up his career
with the Patriots. Do you welcome him back with the
Steelers as an all time great considering he went to
the Patriots at the end. You gotta have that break.
Maybe maybe in the twenty nineteen season last year, I know,
I know. I mean, do you think you do a
one day contract with him? Or you just pretend like
I hate those one day contracts the end of your

(01:58:50):
career somewhere else. Yeah, he could have retired a Steeler, Yeah,
if if things would have worked out differently. So I
don't think that's in the cards, like maybe a nineteen
return at the earliest. Um, how about this? In the NFL,
Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald expected to skip off season
workouts as he looks for a long term contract. LaMarcus

(01:59:11):
Joiners signed his one year tender now has until mid July,
hasent a long term deal with the That was just
for John Ramos to give him some Rams news today
since nobody's talking about the Dodgers or who they are. Hey,
but I'll say this about Kershaw right, like Dodgers have
fallen apart, houses fall houses, you know, houses on fire.
Clayton Kershaw comes in, how many strikeouts last night? He

(01:59:34):
was twelve, right, I believe it was twelve. I had
twelve of them. I I keep score. I'm kidding. I
don't want to score. But that's what aces do. When
when that that's the definition of like what's an ace
in baseball? Ace comes in teams not playing well, not hitting.
Dodgers were off to a four and nine start, and
you know, you look up and Clayton Kershaw was just

(01:59:56):
nasty against a division rival. He had twelve strikeout and
seven innings pitches. He has a one point seven three
e R A regular season Clayton Kershaw pretty like playoff
Shoe Flacco. The NFL Players Association are banning ten helmet
models from being used in games because of the threat
of concussions. Six of those models are banned immediately. The

(02:00:19):
other four can be worn by players if they wore
them last year, they can be worn this year, but
after this year they will not be allowed to be used.
So ten helmet models being axed by the NFL. Okay,
I had no idea there were that many helmet models.
First of all, right, um, second of all, Second of all, uh, yeah,

(02:00:40):
how would you like to be wearing? Like, No, I'm
still gonna wear it for another year, even though it's banned.
That has to be the dumbest thing ever. That's guy
who doesn't want to wear a helmet on a motorcycle
And Doug, you asked for it earlier history. Today in Boston,
