Aaron Torres and Veejay Huskey (in for Doug) open a Christmas Day edition of the show with a discussion on when the NFL's expansion into more days of the week becomes "too much football". Then, they fill the role of NFL Santa Claus! They go through some NFL teams, discussing what the perfect Christmas gift would be for each. A DeLorean for the Raiders? How 'bout a crystal ball for the Vikings? Plus, reacting to the first trailer for Happy Gilmore 2!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the best of the Doug Gottleib Show on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Welcome back everybody, Fox Sports Radio. This is the Doug
Gottlieb Show. Doug is out aeron Torres, VJ Husky taking
up till seven pm.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Easter.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
By the way, hope everybody's having a merry Christmas. Let
us know where you're listening, how you're listening. Can tweet
us at Aaron Underscore, Torres, at Big Vanilla Funny.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
For VJ, we're gonna do a little bit of a pivot.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
We're gonna go NBA, but VJ and I both have
something that we gotta get off our chest. We'll do
that in just a moment before we do the first
time this afternoon, let's toss it over the news desk.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Maansi Belanios. What is trending?

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (00:39):
Guys, you were just talking about Travis Kelce.

Speaker 6 (00:42):
I'm not happy to report this because I benched him
in my Guillotine League, but he just got a twelve
yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. So Travis Kelce officially
the third tight end in NFL history with one thousand
career receptions.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
He's got seven catches so far in this game. The
most recent touchdown for the Chiefs.

Speaker 6 (00:59):
They've extended their lead over the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Twenty
eight to ten is the score early in the fourth quarter.
Still Patrick Mahomes twenty seven of thirty five three hundred
and six yards, three touchdowns, Russell Wilson's sixteen of twenty
three one hundred and sixty three yards, one interception that
came in the red zone right after Pittsburgh had scored
a touchdown that was called back. He threw an interception,

(01:19):
but he does have a rushing touchdown so far in
the game for the Steelers. Still to come the Ravens
and the Texans. That's at four thirty Eastern time. And
it is official that Baltimore will have wide receiver Za
Flowers for this one.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
He was questionable with a shoulder injury.

Speaker 6 (01:34):
In the NBA, we've got Klay Thompson out there breaking records.

Speaker 7 (01:37):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Thomson shot fake good ud.

Speaker 8 (01:39):
There you go play.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Thompson number five all time on the NBA three point list.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Only Steph Curry, Ray Allen, Damian Willard, James Hart has
made four three pointers.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
It's that Klay Thompson.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
You just heard all on the Eagle Mavericks Radio Network.

Speaker 8 (01:58):
I know, right play that makes me feel good, man,
that really just made me warm, and so that I
congratulations Clay, right right, congratulations.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
I agree with you, VJ.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
Now the Mavericks are losing though right now to the
Timberwollo haves forty seven thirty eight, four minutes to go
in the first half. Earlier today at Madison Square Garden,
it was a close one between the Nicks and the Spurs.
Mckel Bridges, though led the way with forty one points
for New York. They beat the Spurs one seventeen to
one fourteen make their one. Banyama, in his first Christmas game,
had forty two points, eighteen rebounds and four blocks.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Back to you guys, Thank you very much, Marcia Lanjos
wimb This is the Doug Gottlieb Show. Doug is out
eron Torres and VJ Huskier and we were gonna talk
wemby VJ, but I got an old man gripe ticket.
I feel like I'm Screwge here on Christmas Day during
the commercial break, you know, you and I were talking
about all.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Sho would be your third negative? You arek on of
scroogeing today. But do you think do you think?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Listen, you grenching, but do it listen cool?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I gotta keep it real. I gotta keep it real. Okay,
atch you during the commercial break, you know you and
I were talking. We're doing whatever.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
But you know what else I had to do.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I track down my Netflix password to log in to
watch this the fourth quarter of this Kansas City Pittsburgh game.
I can I just say, like, listen, we all love
the NFL. And by the way, since I'm gonna get
yelled at, Manzi and Dan Byer did a version of
this yesterday, so we're sort of stealing their take, but.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
We're just added to it.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
We got some Yeah, we're taking your take to the
next level. It's a good take the NFL. Listen, we
love you, goodell. We appreciate all the football you're giving us.
What It's a lot of football, especially with NFL on Wednesday,
so we gotta go Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. That's
another conversation. NFL is just making it really hard for
us to find their freaking game. We got four beautiful

(03:48):
flat screen TVs here in the Fox Sports Radio studios,
and I can't find the National Football League is not
on any of them because I got to pull up
the streamer and I gotta get my tim Foil hat
on and I gotta get my uh, you know, my
my close hangar to make sure that I get the connect.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
It's just a lot of work to watch the NFL
these days. VJ. As of course, the two games today
are on Netflix.

Speaker 8 (04:11):
No, it's I got I'm gonna take it even deeper.
Take it all right, I'm gonna take it deeper.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Mante.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
I don't know if you and Dad hit on this,
but I'm gonna throw it out there like this.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
I love sports. We all know this. I don't have
to give you that disclaimer. This is all. This is
way too much today. It is this is yes with you.

Speaker 8 (04:26):
This is way too much today, okay, because there's two
NFL games, five NBA games, there's college basketball, there's I
believe like a bowl game is on or something. I'm
watching too big ass guys carry heavy stuff on some competent.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
It might be.

Speaker 8 (04:41):
It could be on replay, but it's on CBS, Boys
Sports on Sports Network. This is this is way too
much to try to watch and keep up with.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
And now with the streaming thing.

Speaker 8 (04:51):
I I don't want to knock streaming because I stream,
but you have to now put this on your big screen,
right if you have Netflix, you have one of these
smart TVs nowadays, but then how are you watching the
NBA games?

Speaker 3 (05:02):
You can't do multi screen.

Speaker 8 (05:03):
So now when you got to break out the laptop,
you got to set up iPads around. You got the
kids running around, playing with the presidents and stuff company
coming over like it's it's it's not easy to do
if you kind of spaced everything out May over these
three days. Give us some Christmas Eve stuff, some Christmas
Day stuff, and some post Christmas some twenty six stuff,
spread it out over three days, all trying to cram

(05:25):
all of this onto one day. By the time you
get to the what nuggets and sons. I believe is
that by the time you get to that tonight, bro,
especially on the East Coast where we're from, You and
I are both from these especially back east where we're from,
this is come on, man, it's been a long day.
You've been up since seven, man, you especially if you
got little ones. I was up since six. Could Daddy
Channa Claus came, let's go, let's go. You gotta get

(05:47):
up and go. So that's it's it's just way too
much and it's hard, like you said, it's hard to
now follow and be able to watch it all.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
And I think they need to peel back.

Speaker 8 (05:57):
I guess I say all that to say NFL and
I love the NF I do. It's my favorite that
in college football.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Love it.

Speaker 8 (06:03):
You can give Christmas Day back to the NBA unless
it's and less, unless it's the Saturday or Sunday. Just
give it back to the NBA. And because we don't
this is a lot and we don't need this. And
like you said, what three games and eleven.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Days for.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Four teams actually okay, yeah, I don't know, but yeah,
right Saturday exactly.

Speaker 8 (06:24):
But at the end of the day, though, that's a lot.
That's a lot to do. That's a lot what you're
asking for aut of your players too. You tell me
you care about the players.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Okay, show me and VJ I added, I told Aaron
that's like basketball. You can just have it on in
the background, need to play with your kids, and you
can do the whole.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Christmas normally what people do with the NBA on Christmas Day.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Okay, great, looka did that Okay, can you keep moving
on with your day with football? You want to sit?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah? Watch.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I thought that Manzi brought up a good point is
that football is so ingrained on Thanksgiving where it's like,
you know, if you're hosting, hey, that big TV is
going to have on football. But now Christmas, like you said,
kids are opening presents, some people are going to church,
some people are coming from church. Some people are sleeping late,
some people are sleeping early. And now it's like you
gotta get up. And it's like and like Monci said,

(07:10):
you have to have your sole focus on the football
game and your point about sports. I'll tell you you know,
it was funny like I was walking the dog the
other day and it was during it was right after
the Texas game in the College Football Playoff. My neighbors
are Texas fans are like, wow, you got so much
to talk about, and I like in my head, I
was like, yeah, we kind of do. And it like
like even as another example, like Buddy of Mine, we

(07:33):
talked about this on you and I filled in for
Covino and rich On on Monday, is buddy of mine
hits me up last weekend.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Hey, let's you.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Want to hit the Rams game next weekend, and I'm like, dude,
I'm not working Sunday, Mabel. Oh no, it's Saturday. And
it's like, dude, I got Rams games on Saturday. I
got this on Thursday. By the way, to your point, VJ,
we're playing two games on Wednesday that ain't stop in
the NFL from having their normal Monday night game, which
was Green Bay, New Orleans. And we still got our
Thursday night a night game Seattle Chicago, and then oh,

(08:02):
by the way, three.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Games on Saturday as well. So I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Is like, listen, I don't think I'm speaking like everybody
in this building would not be in this business if
we didn't love the NFL.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
We didn't love absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I think your point about the midweek games like, Okay,
if it falls on a Monday and you want to
throw like an extra game or two on, you know,
I ain't gonna complain.

Speaker 8 (08:24):
Exactly and just call it Monday Afternoon and Monday Night football.
Do something clever marketing like that. There you go, NFL
or welcome.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Or Thursday or whatever. But it's like, golly, it's it's
freaking Wednesday, dude. It's like we got two games. It's like,
now I got to turn around again. And you know, listen,
I said this earlier, or I said this to Mancian earlier.
You know, I shouldn't admit this on air knowing that
we had two games, knowing we came off the College
Football Playoff plus NFL on Saturday, plus a full day
of NFL on Sunday, plus we we had these two

(08:54):
really impactful, meaningful games on Wednesday. Don't tell the bosses.
I was just I was like, I'm not watching an
awful New Orleans team on Monday night football. I was
just like, I gotta at some point, I gotta go shopping.
I gotta spend time with my family. And then Manzi
brought this up earlier. Is like we all have families,
like they all they all sacrifice for us. We're all

(09:15):
here on Christmas Day, but at a certain point the
sacrifice is like, dude.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Tours, we gotta watch something VJ.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
We gotta watch something other than sports like and so
you know, it's just it is what like, we love,
we love football, but the Wednesday on Netflix, you gotta
work for it. To your point, you can't just easily
toggle back to the NBA to Manzi's point, you gotta
kind of be like engaged. You can't just you know,
we're gonna talk about this game after we get Oh,
Casey want you gotta be watching to know what happens.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
So I'm rambling, but go ahead.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
VJ.

Speaker 8 (09:45):
No No, I feel I feel that. But also too,
if they could have moved these two games till tomorrow,
you could have just you could have just had a
whole No one's everyone with kids are still out of school.
There are a lot of people that are that are
home from work until the new year. Just about all
my is that at this point in my life, most
of my friends are well into their careers, and most
of those people are off until the new year. Like

(10:06):
when Christmas comes, they take off sure, and they oh, y'all,
I don't go back until after the new year. My
mom was in the military, like, and my mom never
worked the Christmas season. She'd be off on like the sixteenth,
and they go back until we went back to school. Like,
it's so you can really move these you can load
up a Thursday. I just think Christmas Day could be
giving back to the NBA.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
It's fine. Monty makes a great point.

Speaker 8 (10:25):
It is normally on in the background, even when out
here in LA, like when the Laker game starts at five,
I'll be at somebody's crib probably watching it.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
We'll still be talking and me, but we'll be.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
Paying attention to the game, but we will not be
sitting down like this morning. Soon as ten o'clock hits,
I get on Netflix and start the game. But I
was like, oh, there's an NBA game on turn the TV.
I was like, oh, yeah, I forgot the Knicks play
at nine am out here at noon back East. So
it's it's just a lot. I think the NBA can
have Christmas Day back in the NFL can move some

(10:56):
of these other things around unless it falls in on
a Saturday and Sundays. I said, but you talk about
a lot that have to watch today while being engaged
into Christmas right with your family, your kids and dinner
and all this stuff. And like, my house was a
mad house this morning, man, because i was opening against
and doing the daddy thing. But I'm also trying to
watch this game because that has got to be at

(11:17):
the studio of course, to talk about this later.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I'm sitting there.

Speaker 8 (11:20):
I'm sitting down doing notes as I'm watching as I'm
helping my daughter journey unwrapped gifts this morning, real life, right. So,
but if it was just NBA, I had to sat
on the floor. I delayed by the tree with her
because it's just like NBA is just on. But I
got to see what the Chiefs and the Steelers are doing.
So yeah, I'm with you on that, man, the four
of us, we're together on that.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
This is a lot for Christmas Day.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yes, Chris Purfeta, resident Lions expert cohead, what do you
gotta say?

Speaker 3 (11:48):
I think the other thing.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
And as someone who works on Sunday for Red Zone Radio,
and I know when the complaints Steve Hartman has had
you know who I do the show with over there
is like has been that some of these one piece
Eastern windows this season have been pretty bad. Sure, and
all I can think about as we get more midweek
games like Thursdays. Okay, fine, whatever, We've always had Thursday
night football. We're used to that at this point. But

(12:11):
it does feel like the more of these games we
get middle of the week, by cramming more onto Thanksgiving,
having a Black Friday game, having all of these games
on Saturdays. As soon as college football stops the regular
season because they're certainly going up against them in the
postseason now. But it does create this kind of brain
drain on what used to be the one pm window

(12:34):
where everyone goes nuts red Zone radio. You know, we
rarely have more than three games on the afternoon windows
now too, and you're kind of limited in what you
can get. And like, we've got all We've got AFC
North and matchups, We've got Texans, We've got all these
teams are playoff teams. They're playing here on Christmas. That

(12:54):
takes away from Sunday, which is still should be your
prime day for the NFL. It should be your biggest matchups,
and instead you're leaving Sunday with the dregs.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
You can't give Christmas.

Speaker 8 (13:06):
I'm sorry I missed that point, but real talk, I
get the great point, but you can't give Christmas Day
to a Railers Jacks matchup.

Speaker 9 (13:15):
But I'm just saying that this is the problem the
first Christmas, That's what I'm saying. This is a problem
of doing in the first place. You're you're in that
catch twenty two. You've got to give a good matchup,
but at the same time, you take away from your
Sunday product, which is your prime product.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Well, and what I was gonna say too, you know,
Jason Ktyre brought up this point to me a few
weeks ago. Is the biggest loser in all this is
not only the fans, Like, think about the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kansas City Chiefs are basically carrying all these holidays. They
play Black Friday, they play on a Saturday, they play
Christmas Day, and it's like, think about the schedule that
they've had to go through. And I know we led

(13:48):
the show of you know, it's their crown, it's it's
their belt until somebody takes it from them. But it's
like to Christmas point, to Perfet's point, it's like, you know,
to the point you just made.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
You can't you.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Like, like, if you're gonna play all these days in
a perfect world, you want to balance it out where
everybody's getting a little you know, somebody's playing here, somebody's
playing there. But yeah, but it's the Chiefs and obviously
the Ravens are being impacted by this too.

Speaker 9 (14:10):
And it's like Lions and Packers also to play three
games in eleven days. They did a Sunday game, both
played on Thanksgiving and then straight to Thursday night football
as well.

Speaker 8 (14:17):
I don't I don't I feel your point on that,
but I'll be honest with you, I don't feel sorry
for I don't feel sorry for that, because that's if
you're good. Once again, if you're gonna cram these games
on these days, you can't give me the Jacks and
the Giants. You cannot. I'm not watch I'll be honest
with you. I'm not watching that game. It's an AM
this morning. No, it's great, I'm not watching that game
this now. I'm okay, now, I'm into the toys. I'm

(14:38):
not watching that game. The Chiefs did a big dog,
and we saw this with the Patriots. We saw this
in the Nights with the Cowboys and the eighties with
the Niners.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
The big dog. Yes, you gotta put you gotta carry it.
You're the big dog. Like if you keep winning, this
is what happens. You don't want this, don't wait?

Speaker 10 (14:53):
Well, guys, there's also the aspect of if you the
more you spread the football games over the course of
the week, the more like the closer it gets to
like NB basketball.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Well, and that's what I was gonna say, Like, you know, point,
like a big day like Sunday, Yeah, well exactly, and
it's just and it becomes a thing to me of like, again,
we all do this because we love it. Doesn't mean
that our significant others, that our children, that whoever love
it the same. And it's like, at what point do
even we let alone the average person sitting at home

(15:22):
have to just say okay, Like like to me, like
the Monday Night game, it was like, if I'm gonna
be watching football on Christmas Day and I'm gonna be
watching all day Sunday and the Saturday before, like at
some point I have to give my family some time.
And it was like, well, Monday Night's gotta go. And
it's like it does become a I guess a point
of delineation or whatever the right terminology is of like

(15:43):
even for the die hards, I feel like at some
point you just like to your point view day, you
just you can't watch everything.

Speaker 9 (15:49):
Your die hards here, you're already giving up Sunday, maybe
Saturday if you're into college football.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
There's games on Saturday.

Speaker 9 (15:55):
This this yeah, I know, but I'm just saying usually
in a football season, for a die hard, your your family,
he's already all right, he's gonna be locked in on Sunday,
and now it's okay, then we're.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Gonna launch a dollar guy.

Speaker 8 (16:04):
So I got out of the Monday night game because
I was covering Lakers Pisson.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
So I got out of that.

Speaker 8 (16:09):
And when I was when I just happened to check
on my phone and check the school exactly. I saw
it at twenty seven and ninhing. I was like, oh goodness, gracious,
I'm glad. Okay, cool, I got an excuse to say, yeah,
I know I didn't watch the Monday Night game, but
it was simply because I was down at the crypt.

Speaker 10 (16:23):
Rattler had one or two pretty throws that you missed, okay,
and you know that.

Speaker 8 (16:27):
And that's the thing they showed him on the field
warming up. As I'm walking into the arena, one of
the screams, I'm like.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
All right, right, I see you, baby. Then I saw
the score. I was like, oh, okay, Nah, that little
hype I tried to give him it work. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Well, we do have two NFL games today. Casey is
up twenty nine to ten. Midway through the fourth quarter,
it looks like Casey is going to pull away. Obviously
at that point they would go ahead and clinch the
number one seed in the AFC. They're sitting at fourteen
and one. Buffalo currently sitting at what would that be
eleven in eleven? So eleven and three, twelve and three

(17:05):
excuse me, but obviously in the lost column with one
game to go, Casey would clinch the number one seed.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Again.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
The score in this game right now, Casey is ahead
twenty nine to ten. This is The Doug gott Leab Show.
Doug is out Erin Torres VJ Husky are in? Tell
you what VJ. We got some We got some very
interesting news from the world of sports movies.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
I saw that, Oh, I saw that. We got a
sequel coming. We got to talk about it next. Yeah,
Fox Sports thirty.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Welcome in everybody hour two The Doug Gottleib Show. Doug
is out today Aaron Torres VJ Husky taking you until
seven pm Eastern. We will also be filling in four
Covino and Rich here at two pm Pacific five Eastern,

(18:06):
So we're taking till seven pm Eastern. We got three
hours left. As Manzi just told you, we do have
a final in Pittsburgh. The Kansas City Chiefs have beaten
the Pittsburgh Steelers final score twenty nine to ten, meaning
that the Kansas City Chiefs have clinch the number one
seed in the AFC A first round by Pittsburgh now
falls a half a game back in the AFC North.

(18:28):
They have one more loss than the Baltimore Ravens. As
the Ravens get set to play this evening, they will
of course face the Houston Texans here with kickoff coming soon,
and we will obviously keep you updated on that one.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
VJ do want to stay on the NFL do something
a little bit different here.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
And you know it's the holiday season.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
It's better to give than receive.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
And I'll say this, I'm gonna kind of steal a
segment that I heard Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre do
on Tuesday afternoon where Colin and j mack gave out
Christmas gifts to NFL teams. And so what I want
to do now, Chris Purfett, give us a little music, put
us in a little bit of a mood. I want
to give out some gifts to some NFL teams, and

(19:17):
I'll go ahead and start. I want to give the
gift of self awareness to the Dallas Cowboys, and specifically
Jerry Jones. I know you'll probably disagree with me on this.
Mike McCarthy is not the answer. I don't believe he
will ever be the answer. I don't care about all
the regular season wins. I don't care about that they

(19:40):
melt down in the playoffs. They're never going to win
at the highest level. Jerry's in his eighties. You're paying
Dak Prescott a bajillion dollars over the next four years.
You have to bring in a real head coach. Go
get Mike. And by the way, here's the thing too.
Remember Mike McCarthy his contracts expired. So if it's not

(20:04):
as though you can just bring him back for you're
gonna have to give him a long term deal.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And he's not the answer.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
So my Christmas gift to Cowboy Nation, I am begging
some self awareness to Jerry Jones. I don't know if
it will I don't know if Santa will get it
to him in time. I'm a little worried that Santa
may have missed the Jones mansion today, and I don't
think it will get there for the Christmas holiday.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
But that is my gift to the Dallas Cowboys, my
gift to.

Speaker 8 (20:36):
UH I can go either way, one way or another
with these two teams, I'll go at my home.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Miami Dolphins. Who you got? What are you giving? My
gift to.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
The Miami Dolphins is a brand new, shiny, smart, tough, minded,
competent general manager. H I think it's time for Greer
to go. Some of the moves he's swung in hit,
some of he's swung in myths. But I just think
that in this border football energy means everything. Camaraderie means everything.

(21:07):
We've seen it with the Patriots now where everybody gets
away from New England and they got a personality all
of a sudden, Bill Belichick's funny, Gronk's wild drinking tequila
with his shirt off.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Brady is doing everything.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
Under the sun that normal, good looking, tall celebrity quarterbacks
have done in the history of America. An energy that
would make the team tougher. The Dolphins aren't tough because
they don't have a tough leader. They don't have tough energy.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Bro.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
It's Miami palm trees, demeaning guns, Puerto Rico guns. There's
the coolbans down there, there's all the celebrities, there's South Beats,
there's for a lot of the it's.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
It's it's I feel like it's Mike McDaniel trying to
play a part too.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
I'm giving Micah pass because we wouldn't be where we
are right now if it wasn't for him, because we
could go with the guys we had before. All right, then,
but the general manager has been with this franchise, I believe,
like almost twenty years. It's just it's time to and
you politely do it. It's not a your fire. It's like, look,
it's been a good run.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
You say to it.

Speaker 8 (22:10):
Look it's been a good run. But we need to
get a different mindset in here because the offensive line
has looked like putrid trash for the last decade. Let's
go back to Tanning Hill as our quarterback. And that
comes from the GM. That comes from a toughness to
know you need maulers out there.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Bro.

Speaker 8 (22:27):
Not just go sign Toront Armstead because he's the hot
free agent that year and he's missed half the time
he's been there.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Right.

Speaker 8 (22:32):
So for the Miami Dolphins, VJ Verunho's getting a big
vanilla funny. The big Vanilla Poppy is gifting you this
beautiful new shining general manager.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
By the way, before we get to Chris Purfett, people
can call in. What does your team need? One eight
seven seven, Yeah, bring bring in some of our listeners.
It's Christmas Day. Better to give than received. Maybe give
some airtime to some listeners. One eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox one eight seven seven nine six three
six nine one eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

(23:07):
Chris Purfett, what are you giving your favorite your favorite?

Speaker 3 (23:12):
NFL?

Speaker 9 (23:12):
Not?

Speaker 8 (23:14):
Wait, what's about Toledo Toledo Rockets?

Speaker 9 (23:18):
Go ahead, whatever, We don't need to do anything. They're
they're playing, they're playing tomorrow. I think for the Detroit Bowl,
what's the what is it now? I don't even know
what it's called.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
It's not the I don't think they have a sponsor.
I think it's just no. It's like I think it's
like Game Above or something.

Speaker 9 (23:32):
It's it's every sponsor for bowl games now are like
investment firms.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
It's very weird.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
Yeah, yeah, or like, what was it the other one
for the other night sixty adventures. Anyway, I think it's
too easy to ask for the Detroit Lions to give
them a healthy defense. Let's go a little bit, a
little bit higher. I think if you ask a lot
of Lions fans, there's a lot of nervousness after this
year that it's like this might be their best chance
and everything. I want to give them hope for the future,
because look, they're they're probably going to lose Ben Jonson

(24:00):
at some point, maybe Aaron Glenn as well, but like
I want to give them hope that, like you're going
to keep being in the fight each of these years
for the playoffs, that this isn't just a illusion that
will disappear and you'll go back to being the old Lions.
That Dan Campbell's done a culture change, that he's you know,
made something that's going to be built to last, that

(24:21):
it's not just going to be dependent upon a couple
of coordinators or the health of your defense. At it's
a lot to take in and if I've got an
extra gift here. It's not my favorite team, but I
think in the spirit of what Aaron was talking about
I would like to give the Las Vegas Raiders a
break from the past, because I'm kind of tired of
hearing them talk about the Raider Way and then leading

(24:43):
them to keeping Antonio Pierce around and then crashing into
this season with no damn quarterback whatsoever. I want the
Raiders to be good, and I think part of that
is you have to stop paying attention to your past,
elevating your past so much because you've got a lot
of failure in your past is much as you do
a couple of really good bright spots.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
I want you to.

Speaker 9 (25:02):
Start focusing on building something for the future in Las Vegas.
I want you to focus on building something that's not
about how we did it in the past, or the
Raider Way or what Al Davis would have done. Build
a damn football team, because I think the NFL is
better when the Raiders are better.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Matzi, do you have anything?

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Yeah, I'm gifting my favorite team, yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
Or your least favorite if you want to, if you
want to go.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
I'm gonna I'm gonna gift my favorite Chargers. I'm gonna
give the Chargers a sigh of relief. Okay, because just
like VJ was talking the Chargers for a while have
not had a culture. They were not disciplined, and oh
my god, all we needed was somebody that can lead,

(25:47):
and Jimmy Berger has come in and in a very
short amount of time without any real offensive weapons.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Lad McConkey is great. I can't wait to see him.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
But we don't have, you know, offensive weapons necessarily, and
we are still succeeding because we're disciplined, because we're doing
the little things right, and for the longest time, the
Chargers were not doing the little things right.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
So a sigh of relief.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I was gonna Chargers, this is going to be like
the meanest thing I could possibly say on Christmas.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
Perfect. No, you've said a few, but you.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I'm about to say, you're on the road right here now,
no back up, now, band.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Brandon Staley has to have like the most beta energy
of any coach that has ever coached in the NFL.
Like within four games, I was like, this guy's a
phony and it's exactly what you said is and.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
Yeah, no, exactly.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Like it's like I don't want to I don't want
to talk crap on that guy, but it's like they
obviously were not disciplined because of you, like the penalties
that the Chargers would get called.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
I was like, Oh my goodness, how is this happening?
Am I playing stuff? Am I playing things?

Speaker 3 (26:50):
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 8 (26:52):
To your point with the Charges though, and just road talk,
seeing it up close and personal, carvering them all season long.
What's so cool about the coach is Harball's acts time.
I've asked him time and time again, and then it's
got to the point last home game, I said, coach,
last home game, Man, I'm not gonna see it again.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Are you gonna take any credit for this?

Speaker 8 (27:11):
Ah, there's huh. It's the players, and it's the players
as the players. It's it's it's it's the coach that
you feel it in the stadium. I was telling talking
to the elevator guy one day taking me up to
the press box. There's a different energy when the Chargers play,
as opposed to win the Rams play, and they playing
the same stadium this year, could feel it.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
It's incredible because it just happened very quickly, and it
happened before our eyes.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
What he does one of this year, it wasn't like that.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
Right now, we're week sixteen in and you go to
a Charger game and you feel it like you feel it.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
It's different.

Speaker 6 (27:43):
And I love Harbor, I really do what he's done,
and like it's I'm also just happy for Justin Herbert,
like he has to feel also a sigh of relief
and so just gifting that and yeah, that's it.

Speaker 8 (27:55):
He's been really cerebral this year. He said to his locker,
waits for the pr person.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
Go take.

Speaker 8 (28:00):
He's been superhred and spoke to me all year until
last week he ain't said a word to me and
I walk right beh his locker all the time.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
But but once again.

Speaker 8 (28:08):
That's Horball, that's Harball, that's got him in this locked in,
cerebral RoboCop type guy.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
And then the other khalil Derwin. They all talk.

Speaker 8 (28:17):
About it like it's not fake. It's a real thing
and energy, man, and that's what that's what we don't have.
That that's why you guys are going to the playoffs
and we're not exactly that's exactly why.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
And when you when you were saying you made it,
I agreed with you. There's a bit of a who
is your leader?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Right?

Speaker 8 (28:34):
Right?

Speaker 3 (28:34):
I means make the money.

Speaker 8 (28:36):
But who's the who's the top, the leader, leader, who's
the It can't be kala Is he's sixty.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
It can't belay that's my guy.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
But he can't be a little bit but he.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
Can know, but he can't be the main guy. He's No,
you don't have that young horse, that young. That's but
that comes from the top is where it starts.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yep, really quickly. First of all, we have a couple
of calls. We'll get to some callers this second. Yes,
thank you Moncie, thank you, perfect, thank you, VJ.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Thank you to myself.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Of course, ian Ian's a Jets fan. He's got the
longest Christmas.

Speaker 10 (29:08):
I'll be quick with mine. We have some callers to
get to. But yeah, I mean the Jets their biggest issue.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
They need a new owner.

Speaker 10 (29:13):
So for Christmas, I am giving the Jets dirt on
Woody Johnson, some incriminating photos, just something to give them
a good reason to actually get him out of there,
to sell the team.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Because they need a new owner.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
You want to give them the Donald Sterling Tree.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, yeah, where's V Stiviano these days? She's still just
hanging around.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
No clue, no clue, don't.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Care, go find him. Remember V. Siviano that was, Uh, Donald,
who cares? I know, man, I mean, I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
I'm glad of what happened, you know, because I have
nobody like Donald st But I.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Mean sometimes, I guess, I guess sometimes is good.

Speaker 7 (29:55):
Right.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Have you ever investigated Dan Snyder to get him out?
We got to send him over to Woody Johnsons Well
Richardson in Carolina. We've got options here.

Speaker 8 (30:02):
I want it Dan to go kicking and screaming. No,
I want it Dan to go kicking. Oh, you're gonna
do this to me? I want him to go.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
I guess when I saw Jerry doing I needed it.
He didn't give it to me. I needed it, didn't
give it to me. We do.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Got a couple of callers. Uh is Alex from Bismarck
still on the phone? Wow, Alex in biz Mark, I
assume that's North Dakota. You're joining DJ Husky air torres
here on the Doug Gottlieb Show. First of all, who
is your team in North Dakota, Alex?

Speaker 3 (30:35):
And then what would you like to give them this
holiday season?

Speaker 11 (30:38):
It is the greatest franchise in professional sports history of
the Minnesota Viking.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Okay, I would like to give.

Speaker 11 (30:47):
It to the Minnesota Vikings, the ability, the fore thoughts,
and the insight to actually sign da Sam Darnold he's
still contract, and to develop JJ McCarthy as a quarterback
like I've seen the Green Bay Packers do.

Speaker 7 (31:06):
Of my fandom existence.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
So Alex, I am a forty.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
I was gonna say, Alex, the example that I gave
the guys today when I pitched this segment was gift
giving gifts to a team. So I said, for example,
like hypothetically give a crystal ball to the Minnesota Vikings
to see if we should extend Sam Donald or go
with JJ McCarthy. So you essentially stole the idea. Well
maybe I got the idea from you. I don't know,

(31:32):
But this was the exact kind of no, no, no,
I love it.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
This is the exact.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
So are you on the bandwagon of Sam Donald absolutely
has to come back?

Speaker 8 (31:44):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (31:45):
Absolutely?

Speaker 7 (31:45):
Are you kidding me? Have you been seeing the Vikings
player this year?

Speaker 3 (31:51):
By Alex?

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Okay, my goodness, this was a revelation. And first off,
I was leading the charge on the gig Kirk Cousins
out of Minnesota bandwagon because I the guy is just
he's not a winner. He choked some big games.

Speaker 7 (32:07):
And we saw what he did against who the hell
was it to play on Monday night?

Speaker 3 (32:11):
They're just awful Raiders.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
The other day the Raiders. I mean I I, first off,
I enjoyed the heck out of that game because I
thought he really was and so it did all national television.

Speaker 7 (32:23):
But like this this year with Sam Donald, like a
guy that can throw into tight coverage, throw the perfect
deep ball, like he's got the stones to actually, you know,
get JJ and ally what's his other name, the receiving
number three free three Alex.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
I love you.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
We got to get to some other callers want to
wish you marry Christmas, Christmas good stuff. That was great,
and I think it's I think it's really interesting, the
Brett Farve analogy. I mean it's not perfect because Sam
Donald's still very much in the prime.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Of his career.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
But hey, JJ McCarthy, you know, you move them for
some draft picks whatever. I believe God, I mean, you're
gonna so so then that that you're gonna pay Sam Darnold.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
No, I'm not paying.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
Let's say he's a free agent, right, yeah, I let
him walk. Well, you don't take a guy you don't
drive Jay. He listen, he had knee surgery. He's gonna
be the started this year at some point. Anyway, you
just ruined. You just ruined Alexis Christmas. Sorry all right?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Well you know is.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Robin Virginia Beach still available? Hey, you're on with Doug.
This is the Doug Gottlieb Show. Aaron Torres, VJ. Husky
and for Doug, Rob, who's your team and what are
you gifting him?

Speaker 3 (33:30):
This year?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Green Ben Green brings the green bean pari, the green bean.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Par and and what do you gifted them? Rob? Ud? Rob?
We appreciate the call. Thank you, Rob.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
We got other people to get to if you want
to give out gifts here you know Santa's. Santa's got
a lot of houses to hit this year. We gotta
be a little bit quicker than Rob.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
There.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Shari in d C Shari, I hope you I'm saying
your name right. You're on the Doug Gottlief Show. Aaron
Torres and VJ. Husky in for Doug Shari? Is that
am I saying it right? And what is the gift
for your team?

Speaker 12 (34:11):
You are saying it correct? Shout out to you, Aaron, Thank.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
You shout out to you, Shari, thank you.

Speaker 12 (34:17):
Hey, Rob Parker missed my name of last.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
Night broke.

Speaker 12 (34:23):
Wow Wow.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
But who's right?

Speaker 12 (34:28):
Okay, so huge Raiders fan. So I'm gonna go ahead
and give them a Dolorean, right, and we're gonna go
back in time, and I'm gonna say, look, al, David,
I know you want the strongest, fastest players. But this guy,
Tom Brady, I'm telling you. I'm telling you get him
in the fifth round. He's gonna change the franchise. He's
probably not gonna listen. So I'm gonna say, Okay, one

(34:50):
thing that you cannot do is ignore the tuck rule.
There's a thing called a tuck rule. Right, read up
on it makes you know exactly.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
What tuck rule is. And last thing, do not find
John Gruden.

Speaker 7 (35:01):
He will make you.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Pay for it later.

Speaker 12 (35:02):
And then I would just hope that my team wins
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Yeah, you gotta make sure to tell them, Hey, there's
gonna be this game in the snow. Just get this
Brady guy. Everything's gonna work out.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (35:10):
I gotta gift really quick for the Raiders. If I
could just add on to that for our talking about
from the past, also too. I know he's listened to
shout out DC man, Woobrids Virginia is sven or three
DMV in the house. What up man, Happy Merry Christmas.
I'm gonna give them Shador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Oh that's a good one.

Speaker 8 (35:25):
Yeah, I'm gonna give the Raiders. I wrote that one doubt.
I had three teams written down. I'm gifting the Raiders.
I'm gifting them Shador Sanders. Get him, how you gotta
get them, do what you gotta do.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
And I don't. I'm not the whole hire's dad. But
just the fact that.

Speaker 8 (35:38):
You have him, it will really change your franchise because
I think Coach Pronk will still be part of something
like he'll be around some way, somehow, you know, if
he decides to still stay in Colorado, whatever the case
may be. But I'm gifting them Shador Sanders. Could you
imagine Shador Sanders throwing the brock Bowers who Aaron made
fun of me when I said brock Bowers should have

(35:58):
been the number one overall you all laughed at me.
You all laughed at me. Do the redraft right now,
you all.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Laughed at me. Do to redraft. Keep Fields in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 8 (36:07):
I mean, keep fields in Chicago and give him brock
Bowers redraft.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Guys, I remember the day you walked in.

Speaker 8 (36:14):
You're like, yeah, VJ thinks I'm telling you, man, shitdor
throwing the brock bro Come on, man.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Some other weapons you had, Dick, you run about Bowers
over Jayden Daniels if you were redoing the draft.

Speaker 8 (36:24):
Yep, wow, yep, absolutely, absolutely absolutely, Jad and Daniels is
nothing I haven't seen before.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
Guys, he's RG three. Now.

Speaker 8 (36:31):
I don't know if you'll get hurt like RG three,
But RG three had a rookie heear like this too,
did he not? They went ten and six. They beat
Minnesota in the last game of the year on a
long scramble up the left sideline for a touchdown and
to win. And I know the injury happened. But I've
seen Jayden Daiels before. He's not a quarterback that he
does nothing that I haven't seen. He's not off these
crazy takes. At the end of the segment, I know

(36:53):
I don't have time to push back.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Noah, that's methodically done.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Also, by the way, shout out to sorry we did
we did drop Shary, but we appreciate his call.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
I also like VJ playing really nice with Alex and
then as soon as Alex.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Got off air, just saying your take sucks. Sorry about that, bro.
We basically went along with it.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
For uh yeah, I guess we're resigning Sam Darnold J
just like a lot of Milwaukee sucks.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Jenny McCarthy, Hail to the victor. That's right, that's right, JJ,
go to go get me one. JJ. All right, Doug.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Gott Leap Show, I'll tell you that was fun. Let's
get some more Christmas gifts for hour four. We're in
for Cavino and Rich. We'll do that at the top
of the next hour. On top of hour four, excuse me,
at the what would that be six pm Eastern three
pm Pacific hour, we'll give out more gifts. But I'll
tell you what when we come back VJ. He's not
giving out gifts. He's sending somebody out of town in

(37:48):
a hurry. We're gonna discuss all that next Fox Sports
Radios Doug got Leeb Show.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
gott Leap Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 9 (38:03):
This is who Jimmy Buffett the Christmas Album I have.
My dad's a Buffett fan and I'm a huge I
have it all memorize.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Welcome back, everybody, Fox Sports Radio. This is the Doug
Gottlieb Show. Doug is out, Aaron Torres, VJ Husky, and
hope everybody's having a merry Christmas. Let us know where
you where you're listening to us from? Are you listening
in the car? You at work? You can tweet us
at Aaron Underscore, Torres at Big Vanilla Funny for vj J.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Tell you yeah, listen, Today's Today's you know, it's a
little bit of.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
A looser day, you know, Christmas Man, we don't have
to go hardcore breaking down cover two defenses here. So
but I will say there was an interesting development in
the world of sports movies where Adam Sandler put out
a teaser yeah for Happy Gilmore two. Now it's interesting.

(38:59):
I don't know. It appears as though this will stream
exclusively on Netflix, so I wonder if this is maybe
a way to cross promote, because obviously tens of millions
of people will be tuning into Netflix for these football games.
But we're apparently getting a Happy Gilmore Too on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
It doesn't say a date or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
But I'm fired up your thoughts, and then I actually
want to ask you about some other movies that maybe
we should be remaking in the world of sports.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Go ahead, VJ.

Speaker 8 (39:26):
I know I'm not for this at all. Oh, this
is gonna be bad. This movie's not gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Called me screws. You're not gonna be good.

Speaker 8 (39:33):
Guys, like, stop, we have to stop doing this. So
I have examples. Let me cook, let me lay it,
let me cook right now, I have examples. Guys, when
you wait so long to do these three four two,
it's it's not gonna ring the same. You had a
chance to really hit on Happy Gilmore Too back in
like oh three oh four. You could have did it
back then, like kind of right after the first Happy

(39:54):
Gilmore came out in the late nineties. You could have
waited three or four years and done it then. It
would have made a whole lot since it would have
been funnier. I don't have nothing to gain. Certain guys
just aren't funny as they get older. The movies aren't
gonna be good. Let me give you these examples before
you you say anything, Chris, I just watched Beetle Juice.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Beetlejuice.

Speaker 8 (40:11):
I can recite the first Beatlejuice word for word.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
On God, Okay, I love that movie.

Speaker 8 (40:18):
It made me love Michael Keaton even more after he
was Batman. All Right, So I'm excited for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
But I say, you know what, I'm gonna get let
down again, just like I give you another one Axel
Foley Beverly Hills Cop four, right, you just shot that
twenty years ago. And I love Eddie Murphy. I think
Eddie Murphy is the goat of Hollywood. Like he's the

(40:40):
goat actor of Hollywood. He's done everything and everything. He
has classics in every category. He's the goat. I give
you another one coming to America too. If you didn't
hit that three or four years, even five years after.
But to wait thirty years, twenty years to do these remakes,
Maverick top Gun, there's another one.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
It was cool, but it's it's not.

Speaker 9 (41:03):
I was about to bring that up as a success story.
I was gonna say it is Christmas time. Did you
guys know there was a sequel to A Christmas Story. Yes,
came out last story out last year, came out last year.
How much buzz was that about that?

Speaker 3 (41:14):
None? Oh no, No.

Speaker 8 (41:16):
It's why because the first one was thirty five years ago.
I'm not I'm not doing it. I'm not falling in
Adam so I'm calling him Adam Aaron. I'm not falling
in to oh man, such and such too such a
it's it's too long. They missed their window. And I
think it'll be average to not good. I'm serious, it's
not gonna be good. Guys, it just wow. It just

(41:39):
can't be Shooting or Gavin. I've seen him in the
trailer all of that. Yeah, you know, you can't think
about real talk. You can't even like do a flashback
with Carl Weathers because honestly, you know he's going on
to glory.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
So I just I'm out man. I'll watch it like
everybody else will, but I'm out on. Oh, this is
gonna be great. I'm exciting.

Speaker 8 (41:53):
Nah, I'm not getting food again, man, wow, not getting
food again.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
Yeah, on that one. I'm grinching. I'm grinching on that one.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Yeah, yeah, I mean listen, I'm trying to think I
feel like there was something that they did a sequel
to recently that.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Top Gun was a success.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Well that was what I was thinking of, but like
where it wasn't good, But I don't think it took
away from the first one. And that's how I feel
about this. Like I'll tune in. Maybe it'll be pretty good,
maybe it won't be Maybe it'll bring back a lot
of nostalgia. You're right to your point, Carl Weather's no
longer round. Obviously it goes out saying Bob Barker no longer.

Speaker 3 (42:29):
With us, Right, So.

Speaker 9 (42:33):
Jan Patrick in this, Oh, Dan Patrickson, he's gonna be
in He's I believe on the show he said he's
gonna be in.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
My guy. I ain't got no be with Dan. Dan's
my dude.

Speaker 8 (42:41):
But I'm just you know, some of the other main
characters are not gonna be in it.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited. I mean yeah, yeah, I
mean it's it's it's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Okay, but it's not.

Speaker 10 (42:51):
And you're you get you're expecting you know, some Oscar
nominated me, Like, I don't think that's what they're trying
to think.

Speaker 9 (42:58):
I think Gunn said the operative word here. It is nostalgia. Yeah,
it's here for that's how they pitch it to us.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
Though. They pitch it to us, says, oh this is
gonna be as great.

Speaker 8 (43:06):
This is how it comes if they're just like, look, guys,
we wanted to get we wanted to do it again.
We figure we RoboCop there. That was another one. They
read this a remake. I know it was, but but
it was terrible though. Just leave them alone. That was
thirty five years ago. Why are you trying to do
it again? Come up with some better ideas in Hollywood? Sorry,
former actors, stand up comedians, stay there and speaking right now,

(43:26):
come up with some better ideas.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
These aren't gonna be good. Guys. I'm not getting food
anymore here, and I'm sorry. I'm out.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Okay, So Happy Gilmore Too completely off the table for VJ.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Husky.

Speaker 12 (43:34):
Good.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
You know, I know what you won't be doing on
you know, Christmas Eve night although or Christmas Day night,
although I know it's not technically out yet, but it
Happy Gilmore Too.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
I was excited to talk about it.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Apparently, you know, you just got a little cool and
the Stockings doesn't doesn't want to see ya shoot her
and happy go after it anymore.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
But price is wrong. But I'll tell you what this is.
