Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ka boom boom. If you thought four hours a day,
minutes a week was enough, I think again. He's the
last remnants of the old republic, a sole fashion of fairness.
He treats crackheads in the ghetto gutter the same as
the rich pill poppers in the penthouse. The clearing House
of Hot takes break free for something special. The Fifth

(00:23):
Hour with Ben Maller starts right now in the air
everywhere as the Fifth Hour continues, No days off, No
days off. The Fifth Hour with Ben Maller and Danny G. Radio.

(00:45):
As we're hanging out in the radio dojo, the audio Dojo.
That's my friend Victor brick Call. We had Vic on
the podcast. Now normally you hear Danny G here, But
Danny he's getting Mary. Can you believe that my man
forever the bachelor, Danny G Radio is getting married. So
in his place, we went out and got a bachelor,

(01:08):
a very eligible bachelor, a man who is an insider,
one of the greats. And we've had him on this
podcast before. Alex Tysher, Alex the Vegan joining us here
as as my guy. You heard him yesterday on Benny
Versus the Penny, and now here he is yet again,
and we welcome you and asked. The crowd goes wild.

(01:30):
He's so excited. Yeah, so this is a podcast about nothing, Alex. Gosh,
those are my favorite podcasts man. Yeah, this is a
version of the old Seinfeld show from back in the
nineties where we just pretty much talked about our lives
and things like that. And you had mentioned we we

(01:51):
we talked every night. Now, Alex, you do not work
on the on the on the show that I do, unfortunately. No. No,
I'm a big fan of yours. You work on the
show before mine with Jason, but you also work with
you know, Jason Harmon. You've got Rob Parker, right, you
got Rob Parker. But big Bend, I look you Jangle,
big ban come in bed, Tom. I'll tell you right now, Ben,

(02:18):
I will rather sleep outside than talk about Tom Brady. Okay,
love I love me some Rob Parker too. But but
so I talked to you pretty much every night outside
of Sunday night in the Monday. You're my guy. You
you set me up when I'm in my home studio,
and then when I'm in the studio, I come hang out.
And I want you to know I don't hang out

(02:39):
with other people that really, I'm very antisocial. I'm an
introvert for some reason. Though for some reason I like
kind of hanging out. I'm honor my guy. Yeah, yeah,
I don't know. I don't know why that is. And
we have a thing that we do when when I
when I communicate with you down the line here, and

(03:00):
I think, well, why don't we start by letting people
know what happens, what kind of wacky things happened behind
behind the scenes. So I have I'm lucky enough to
have a home studio. I had one before COVID, but
since COVID, we you know, we do a hybrid. I'm
in the home studio half the time, I'm in work
half the time, give or take. And so, um, it's
it's it's a good set up. And I have a

(03:21):
pretty good home studio and all that. So it's cool.
So I I cannot dial up Fox. They have to
dial me up the way it's set up, it's a
one way street. I can't. I'm pretty much at the
mercy of whoever's controlling the equipment. And so if they
don't dial me up, I'm not I'm not able to
do the show. Um and you're the guy that has

(03:42):
to dial me up. You have to make sure I'm
connected and the show can go on and all that.
If not, we have a heart attack and everything's in
limbo and it's a nightmare. Right, So you connect me
and then what happens next? So, Ben, what's funny is
if it wasn't for me, we probably have wrong button
Bob doing everything in here. With the last that happened,
we have the whole network crashdown. So what's fun though, Ben,

(04:02):
is I set you up. And what I like to
do is I connect. I make sure that the shows
on both sides that you are actually connected. I wait
a brief fifteen to twenty seconds. I go on the
talk batch, which is a device I can talk to
without going on air or anything like that, and I
hold down the button and I say this every single time, Ben,
we have our little chance? Should we should we bless

(04:23):
everybody with us? Do it right? This is gonna break
the podcast that the people say I can't believe I'm
gearing behind the scenes is so amazing. Alright, Ben, I
am the FSR insider. So this is this is good
stuff right here, This is good stuff. So here we go.
This is what we do. I will hold the button down,
I will wait for the silence of Ben sitting there
like a puppy, just waiting for me to say it

(04:44):
out for him. And I say, when I say big goal,
you say bladder, big gul bladder, big water. He we
go here. We are just like that. That that means
the show is gonna be good. Yes, that means the

(05:05):
show is gonna be solid right there. If we don't
have that, the show is not good. It's not right. Yeah,
it's like checking a plane. Ben, you can't take off
without checking the plane that is correct. Listen, And I
pointed out before for those that have not been listening
a long time. A couple of years ago, I had
emergency surgery because I had a gall bladder attack. And

(05:27):
I'm such a loser. I didn't get it taken care
of soon enough. I I kept having these gall stones
and I thought I just had indigestion. I think it's
my stomach, and no, my gall bladder was dying. And
by the time I went to the hospital, I spent
a week in crop. Yeah, because they couldn't operate because

(05:47):
I had too much Uh you know, I had too
many issues with this with my inside. So but anyway,
so I got the nickname, you know, the Big gall
Bladder from it is my favorite nickname for you as
Big gall Bladder, and you are Alex the Vegan, yes,
although for briefly you're like an Amish person you left back.

(06:08):
Have you ever seen the movie it's called like road
Trip or something like that. Uh? Is an old movie?
Is that comedy? It's a comedy. Yeah, yeah, I think
I did see that, but I think it's called road Trip.
But basically it's this guy that goes on an adventure
to meet this internet girl he meets, but they run
into this Omelish family and they actually like this village
where they live and once every year I forgot what

(06:30):
it's called. Think it's called the rump Roast where they
just go and do whatever they want for a week,
like they used technology. They go clubbing, They had tea
pain come into a party. It was insane. So that's
our that's my rump roast. I had basically been. I
know they had this thing in the Amish and we're
allowed to goof on the Amish because the true Amish
person can't listen to know, they'll never hear this. Yeah, yeah,
but the kids. It's like every every faith, every you know,

(06:53):
situation has their own thing where you get this age
and you're an adult or whatever. But in the Amish world,
when you get to a certain age, they send you
out in the world to see whether or not you
want to live in continue on as an Amish person.
They probably figure most people just are used to what
they're used to, so they're not going to go out
and do it exactly anyway. On this podcast, we have

(07:15):
the Chocolate Tier streaming to Paradise, Pastrami Rama, sorry Vegan,
and the Wye World of weightlifting and scientific We'll try
to get to all that and let's get the party started.
So the Life of Mallard and the life of Alex
the Vegan in for Danny Gy and this is where
we tell stories behind the scenes, right what happens behind

(07:36):
the microphone, away from the microphone and all that. So
this past weekend, I was I was babysitting of all
things Alex. Uncle Ben was activated. Not the rice because
that was cancer. Not the rice, uh No. But I
we we had here at the Mallard mansion. We had
my niece and my nephew over the little munchkins, little

(07:59):
kids here and they got the v I P treatment.
Yeah it was me, my wife and my mother in law.
Took three people to keep these kids in line, these
rambunctious kids. And uh you know the girls, she's she's
uh kindergarten age right around there, and they the boys,

(08:19):
I think he's three now, and so they're a little
little little munchkins. And we pulled out all the stop touch.
I mean, this is what I want. You know. I
didn't spend too much time with my aunts and uncles.
I did a little bit on one side. The other side,
I didn't spend a lot of time with my friend
growing up. But um, we spoiled these kids, right. I
made them cheese pizza host to scratch. What kid doesn't

(08:39):
love cheese pizza. We then went off to the park.
We found this cool park with this massive slide, giant
outdoor legos you can build stuff with im and they
they had Tonka trucks all that. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Uh so then uh my wife my mother in law said,
you know, we we gotta go to the to the store,
and so we we we went to the local target,

(09:02):
but the bulls eye there and got a toy. Wow. Really,
So now they've got cheese pizza, they've gotten to play
at the park, They've gotten a toy. Then we went
back to the to the Mallard mansion. I was cooking.
I was Benny the baker, Benny the cooker. I was cooking.
I love this griddle. You have a gridly gosh, it's great.

(09:24):
I am for the rest of my life. I'm all
about the griddle. So I cooked up some chicken veveitas.
I know you don't like chicken, but I could go
some vedas with with all that little side of rice
and uh. But then it got even better because then
we got back in the mallarmobile and we headed to
a place that I never wanted to go to. But

(09:44):
my little niece wanted to go to the Hello Kitty Cafe. Yeah, yeah,
my fat ass was at Hello Kitty Cafe. Don't tell anybody,
won't I won't tell us all. No one's listening to this.
And so I went in there and got a little dessert.
But then we went back because you know, when you're

(10:05):
a kid, you can eat as much candy as you want. Whatever.
So we went back to the Mallard mansion and then
I dabbled in my my latest michigas, I became Mallard
the chocolate tier. Yeah. Yeah, I like to experiment with
new things in the kitchen. And so I've now made
I've melted chocolate into you know those a little chocolates

(10:27):
with the different shapes, and yes, that's my new that's
my new thing. And I thought, what what more fun
than I got, you know, niece and nephew there, And
so I got some these pink dyed chocolate candy things,
the little things, and you melt them on the stove.
It's you know, get get a pot with some hot water,
you boil the water. You actually can't boil it, you

(10:48):
just gotta make it hot. And then they the pink
chocolate chips melt into a liquid google and then you
poured into these different shapes and whatnot. You make the
little candies. Okay, it's pretty simple. But I had the
kids helped me out. So they decided the little girl,
she she decided to add pink sprinkles or actually orange sprinkles, okay,

(11:09):
which was not on the recipe. Yeah yeah, And we
had little unicorn for her. And then the boy had
these big construction candies that he wanted and uh, and
then they sleepover and it was great and and that
was my my my Saturday Wow into Sundays was my

(11:34):
my Chocolate Tier time, which was it was not exactly
streaming to Paradise, but I had a good time being
Uncle Benny. And they called me Uncle Benny, which is
kind of cool. They really Yeah, that's pretty cool. Wow, Ben,
this is a whole side of you I've never heard
about Ben. I know, man, on the weekends, I'm different guy, man,
dude on the weekends there, I've barely seen you in
the wild, Ben, and the one few times I have

(11:55):
you are a completely different entity. I'll tell you that
calm who collected individual. But this is different. We have
had the meal you you were invited to the party stuff.
Why are you bringing up sun Ben? Big time? Me?
I understand. I know the invite you probably invite to

(12:16):
Colin Cowards party or something like that. I get it. Yeah,
you know what's funny is that, Joey, let me tell
you this, so No, what's funny about that, Ben is
the Halloween party actually fell on a day that I
had so much stuff going on, it literally left my mind.
And I still remember I talked to you on Monday.
You're like, Alex, uh, so what happened on Saturday? What

(12:37):
were you doing? It was like, oh, no, I'm getting
set up right now. I know. No, no, no, I
was like I was like because I was like, I'm
sure he'll be there. That's my guy. You know my guy,
doesn't I mean Rob Parker show great? Rob Parker was
there and you didn't show Rob. Well, Rob loves a party.
He'll show up any time Rob's a party social buddy.

(12:57):
I had the perfect outfit too. I was gonna be
a vegetable. That's gonna be great, that would be wonderful.
Well there's another chance, tisher uh. The Ugly Sweater party Halloween,
the Christmas Christmas holiday party will be coming up, and
I'm not sure. When we don't have exact dame, I
will set you and invite perfect show up. That strike two.

(13:21):
I know because you are you this and you're streaming
to paradise. I'm doing so much, Ben, I know, but
let me say this, when I show up, not only
do I need the griddle to be available so we
can make some fun. I need to make some chocolates. Ben,
we have to make some chocolate all right, listen, I'm game,
I'm all about. It's the easiest thing. I thought it
would be hard, but it's not that difficult. It's yeah,
it's very simple. You melt the chocolates I said, you

(13:43):
poured in these molds and put in the freezer for
fifteen minutes or whatever. That's it. That's it, that's all
you have to do it. And you can crank it
up a couple of notches. You can add nuts if
you want. If you're that we're getting now, we're getting crazy.
But yeah, he sounds fine. And who doesn't like like ken,
you have a smile from a ear to hear when

(14:04):
you candy and all that. Right, So Uncle Ben, huh,
that's a fun new side to you, Uncle Benny, Uncle Benny,
not the rice. So do the kids do? The kids
actually like they yearned to stay longer. When they get
picked up, then well, you know, as a kid, it's
hit and miss, like sometimes kids get homesick and that. Now,

(14:25):
they were very good, these little munchkins, this niece and
nephew were great. They loved it. They had a good time.
I think part of the reason they loved it. Also,
in addition to the candy, and the Hello Kiddy Cafe,
the park, the Pois, all that chap right. We had
a big bag of Halloween candy sitting around still. Oh gosh,
they had free reign. So they were on a sugar
high the entire time. And the funniest the little little

(14:48):
my little nephew, he kept sneaking over still steal candy.
Or he told him, no, you can't, you've had enough,
and so he then this is the funniest thing that
kids do. He then put it a blanket over his
head to make him look like a ghost, and he
walked over. You're kidding me. Yeah, it was hilarious. Man.
It was like it was like right out of some

(15:08):
old school movie. So funny, man, I was like laughing
my ass. I was go ahead, Yeah, I would have caved.
I would have caved. I have your candy. Come on,
I'm not your I'm not your father, I'm your own.
Whatever you want. I mean, your father's got a yellow
I don't ye. They're probably still awake. They probably still
haven't slept exactly exactly all that sugar man. That's amazing, man. Yeah,

(15:31):
it was, Oh my gosh. Anyway, uh, well, turning the page, Yeah,
you have been doing so much on this and not
only do you work at Foxbush Gosh, but you're a
man of your renaissance. Man is a man of culture. Ben, Yes,
you are. I don't even know where to start with you,
Ben So. Yes. Most people who have ever heard of

(15:51):
me know me from the FSR side, doing a lot
of the production value here, helping out with a lot
of the shows, hosting some content going and filling it
on the herd anywhere else that's needed. But for some
reason I haven't got the call for you yet, which
is kind of weird, but that's okay. But I do
a lot of stuff on the side, to Ben So.
I do a lot of anime stuff. One of the
podcast is called Anime Sempi Podcasts, and that's based in

(16:13):
everything and anything anime you can think of. The anime
world is blowing up, by the way, Ben, did you
have you ever watched an anime in your life? Ben,
I have seen an anime. I. It's a different language
though to me, right like it would be like me
communicating with an elephant. I wouldn't know what the elephant
is saying. The elephant wouldn't know what I'm saying, But

(16:36):
I do understand that a lot of like teenagers love it, right,
and so they are there a lot of adults that
aren't mostly teenagers. Ben, you would be surprised how many
people in their late twenties, early twenties, early thirties, late thirties,
early forties, late forties, and now those who have kids

(16:56):
in their fifties are getting into it too. It's insane.
How are this industry has come? And I can even
argue here, Ben, within the next few years it will
be mainstream in this Western civilization of ours. And what
is the allure? What is the appeal? So it's a
great question person like why would somebody be in so
somebody who is a sports fan And I've met actually

(17:17):
a few people that have helped me out with a
lot of my content that we're actually through sports related
stuff and found my show. There's a lot of stuff
with creativity. So creativity is one you can create a
whole world from nothing. You can make an endeavor of
adventures from different range of genres. But there's also something
related to what everybody likes. So they have drama base shows,
they have those romantic shows. They even have sports shows

(17:39):
like there's one right now that's coming out. That's called
Blue Lock, which is a soccer anime, which they timed
it perfectly, Ben because it comes out right before the
World Cup and everyone's hyped about it. It's a great show.
The animation styles, they're their dramas intoxicating. So it's like
the whole premise that it kind of attaches you to
your younger side too, because it's like cartoons. We all
grew up watching cartoons, Tom and Jare you have the

(18:00):
Looney Tunes everything like that, because you know how old.
Thank you. I'm not dating. I'm not dating absolutely, but
like SpongeBob, you know, we can get more relevant fairly
on Yeah, Simpson's Doug whatever, it may be a family guy.
All of those are still animation. It's just based in
the Western cultures. So for example, anime is Eastern based

(18:21):
animation and ours here's cartoon based. That is what we
call animation. So it's the same thing, just different styles.
You could say, right, okay, yeah, I got you. So
the coolest thing about all of it is that I
grew up watching it. I was watching as a kid.
It was on like Niket Night. It was also on
Cartoon Network. Samurai Shamploo, Cowboy Bebop, all these great shows

(18:42):
that some of your great listeners might actually know. By
the way, if you haven't, please get on an asap.
You will thank me later. But it was so cool
to see how this anime world developed into what it
is now to our I'm traveling to different states, I'm
hosting these anime events, I'm doing these codsplay events. I'm
there at the forefront being the Ryan Seed Christ of
the anime world. And it's been a great time to
see how to expand it, even into this breaking thing

(19:03):
that I've been telling you about, which is like a
whole new streaming side of everything. So, Ben, have you
ever heard of twitch? By the way, yes I have.
In fact, I actually thought about doing some streams. You should.
You should, because you're set up is perfect, Bend. All
you have to do is go live and just rant
your butt off. Okay, and you do this now you've
you've told me about this a little bit. When we

(19:24):
go and we do the you know, here we go, yes,
here we go. Yeah, you told me about it. So
you you're you're like all night you do the over
you do your show was on late and then you
drive you got a long drive, you live out in
tim Muktu, which I live. It feels like yeah. And
so you get on the Twitch and you're there all
night and and you're what exactly you're doing the Twitch things?

(19:48):
So what's going on? If I'm watching you on Twitch?
What am I? What am I getting? What experience am
I getting? Perfectly asked. So twitches the whole base premise
of people playing video games. A lot of them they're
playing their favorite video games. You're watching them stream They're
entertained you. Some of the big ones are like doctor Disrespect,
Tim the Tapman even have nick marks. And these guys
are prominent known for being great gamers and also great streamers.

(20:09):
So they combined the two. They put on a product
for people to enjoy, and they get tens of thousands
of viewers. There's a new thing popping up in shout
outs to Covid. By the way, I don't know if
you've heard of covid Bend, but you know that was
a weird time for everybody, but Covid created this whole
new industry Bend. They basically opened the door for streaming,
but with trading cards. So a lot of people love

(20:29):
sports cards. They love to chase their favorite players, like
a Tom Brady signature. You can have an Odell Beckham
signed card, even though Tani San himself. You can find
these sign cards in the trading aspects for sports realms
and people go bucked tear crazy form bed. There were
thousands of thousands of dollars. Well, something happened during this time,
during the COVID time, and when everything happened, they started

(20:50):
to do the streaming side with twitch and everything, but
for cardbreaking. Now. So what these people do is they
would have their dope setups. They would have a backdrop,
cameras on themselves, cameras in front of them. They would
buy massive amount of products, sit in their houses for you.
You could watch the stream participate in buying the products.
So they would rip it open for you called breakers
and send it to you. While everybody's enjoying a performance,

(21:14):
everyone's getting hyped because they're involved with it. They're all
gambling because they're trying to find the big chase cards
within the sets. It's such a great time. Ben, I
do that for the anime side and it's blowing up.
That's great. I mean, I'm in press listening. You are
I told you when you were on the podcast before
like this thing, and I agree with you. It's it's

(21:34):
wonderful because the way these things work. And I know,
you know I'm I'm older than you, and I still
long when I I flash back to the Saturday Morning cartoons. Yes,
like Fat Albert, g I Joe he made Yes. Yes.
And and you know, if you grew up in the
anime world, like for the rest of your life, you're
gonna be like, maybe you just keep watching it, but

(21:54):
even if you don't, you're gonna long for that. You're
gonna flash I remember these, you know, anime cartoons or
whatever from back in the day. So it is a
wonderful thing. It's the same reason the most successful fast
food item of all time is the happy Meal. Yes,
because kids associate that, you know, happy meal, they become
adults and have kids, and then they bring their kids
to McDonald's because of the happy Meal and all that,

(22:15):
and so it works eight ways the sun. It does.
And it's amazing, Ben, because I'm literally, as you said,
I'll come out here. So like today, for example, right
I was streaming till seven in the morning, slept for
like five hours, woke up real quick, drove all the
way back out to l A to sit here and
do this wonderful podcast with you. But you can see,
like the whole bracket of all this is insane to
see that you can do anything with possibility. Wise, So

(22:38):
the fact I found out I had a connection to
Franken Sun's out here and which is like basically a
mini convention every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Have you been
to Franklin Sun's Bend. I have not been to phrase.
You're kidding me. I need to go. It sounds like
something I would actually be into. You would love it, Ben.
We have to go in the so Calaria, whereas the
City of Industry, Ben, okay, so right in the middle
kind of everything. Yes, so we could go there. It's

(22:59):
open every way Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. And they have everything.
They have trading cards, collectibles, action figures, comic books, cosplay
on you name it, dude, they have everything. I have
the motherload of baseball cards my youth that I need
to probably sell some of those things. Well, Ben, we
might need to go on the weekend then here soon
to get you some extra cash for your empire. Hang

(23:20):
out A couple of bros. Get a couple more grinels
in your house. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, I
think it'll be cool. And that's what's so fun is
I partnered with the company there. I'm doing the breaking
now and it's such a new world to people. Because
if you think about it, Ben, what do Americans love
things easier and quicker? Right? Yeah, So if you think

(23:40):
about it, I can sit in my house at my
house by the product. Do you open it, you send
me the hits, you give me an entertaining experience. It's
a done deal man. Everybody loves it, and isn't It's
something about the human condition. We love the surprise something.
And I remember that there was a couple of years ago.
I don't know if this is still the case. I
remember reading this story. We did it on the air.

(24:00):
There was a kid, like a little kid, who made
the most money of anyone on YouTube and all he
did was like open toys. That was as I Yes,
I don't know if he's still number one on YouTube
because he's probably too old now. And once you get
past a certain age as a kid, you're not cute
and anything. You know that, you know what I mean? Anyway,
that is an outstanding TI shirt. Good job by you.

(24:21):
Now we have we have the pastrami ram. I'm sorry
you're a vegan, so a cover of your years. But
in addition to the babysitting duties and a chocolate tier
and all that, I also dabbled a new sandwich, new
sandwich in addition to my Philly cheese steak and my
my burgers and other things that make uh made a Essentially,

(24:41):
it's like a pastrami steak, like a cheese steak with pastrami.
I purchased some thin cut pastrami, went down to the deli.
Yemm me to might tell me not to you? Uh?
And this this is like a basic bitch sandwich. It's
very Yeah, it's so simple to make. It tastes so
good again because of the grittle. I believe it's pleasing

(25:02):
to the tummy because of the grittle. So it says
he got the thin cup a stronger from the delhi.
I diced onions. I get a loaf of bread, like
a small loaf of bread, and I cut these thick
Texas toast style pieces of broad Yeah, I warm those
up on the grittle. I get some gooey cheese. And
it's so simple. I just I heat the pastrami on

(25:24):
the griddle top and I get that really nice and
warm and cook through. And then I dice some onions.
As I said, I put those on there, cooked those up, uh,
and I slabber the bread with mayonnaise or butter. Get
get that all good there, and then I just put
and put the cheese on top, put it all together. Boom.
That is a culinary masterpiece. And I'm telling you it's

(25:46):
the easiest thing you can possibly make. And it is
so ff and good. That's in my rotation. Now, that's
in my rotation. The pastrami rama, that's in my roat
strawmy rama. Yeah, that's what I call so ben rama.
What would you rate it? One through ten? That is
a solid nine, really solid night. That's a strong grade band.

(26:08):
And I gotta tell you, Alex, for years when I
was a bachelor, I wish my mom. I wish my
mom was around for many reasons. But she would I
wonder what she would say because I never cooked anything
frozen pizza. Yeah, like I didn't nothing no interest in that.
I I was eating the Windy, I was eating the
Big five Windy's, McDonald's and all the all the different

(26:32):
fast food restaurants. And then it's only within like the
last probably ten years that I've gotten into cooking and
bacon and all that. Yeah, so that's kind of it's
what I actually like the stuff I make more than
stuff I eat it restaurants. Funny how that works, right, words.
I never thought I would ever say that either, because
that I get upset. When I was a kid, my

(26:53):
mom would be like, oh, we're having dinner at home.
I don't want to do all the time Donald's. I
remember all the time, like the Eddie mur Be skinned
his Mom's like, we'll make you McDonald's at home. We
got wonder break go'll get the wonder bread. We got you. Yeah,
but I remember that. Yeah. Now I'm like, oh, I'm
excited for the weekend because I do a lot of
my cooking on the weekend. You know. During the week
it's kind of tough with you go and all that. So, uh, Friday, Saturday,

(27:14):
Sunday and those are my big cooking days and I
like to experiment with with different things. Now, speaking of
experimenting the gym, I do go to the gym, but
I don't I don't do the weightlifting. I don't do
I don't all the weightlifting you should. I do more
cardio than anything. They're just trying to keep my body
in motion, okay, and which has been more difficult the
last couple of months because my knee was all messed up.

(27:35):
But I finally got my knee kind of back in
order now so I can get back on the treadmill
do my thing. But uh, that's your world. Also, you're
there all the time, right time you're there. You're a
workout world, workout wizards. What you are. Well, I'll tell
you this. I don't know if your fans know about
the great David Gascon, David Gagon that used to work
here at Fox. He's he was in Florida. Now he's dead.
To me. We sent him out with style. We threw

(27:57):
the champagne bottle on him and said never come back.
We it, We did, we literally, yes, we sent him
away Sunshine State. I'll tell you this, I'm glad he's
gone too, because that guy was yoked out of his mind.
So now I'm the buffis guy here at FSR, and
I love to say that. So basically I live in
the glorious House of Gains. I I worship it. I
love it. A body emotion stays emotion, as you said,
and I've met some not only amazing people at the gym.

(28:19):
Shoutouts to Tom Looney, by the way. I've also he's
chemically in. Yeah, he's chemically I mean well he even
says it too. He goes to Mexico for all this
stuff because it's cheaper, so I mean a big sense. Yeah,
he's on a first name basis with the pharmacist. It's
funny because it's true that he's got more muscles than

(28:42):
Barry Bonds when he hits set something home once for
the giants. Back in the day, he was very supplier.
What do you mean, Ben, I'll tell you this a
lot of people. I'm sure you've heard this too, Ben,
where people say, if you ever want a fun experience,
And this was before COVID because now they changed their hours,
go to Walmart at two in the morning, just to
walk around and see the kind of people you run into. Right,

(29:04):
Oh yeah, I I miss all the stores being open
all my gosh, Ben, with my schedule of my nocturnals,
it was great for you. Oh yeah, I didn't have
to worry about anything. I could go out whenever I
needed something, I'd go to the store and I didn't
mind the people putting the stuff on the shelf. It's
fine with me too. It was calm, quiet, didn't have
to deal with traffic, the crazy muscle and bustle of Cali.

(29:25):
It was nice, right. It was so Now the gym aspect,
I would say has taken the throne, Ben, because I
have worked some crazy hours here at FS are within
my illustrious career. I've worked some overnights, I've worked later.
I've went at eleven twelve pm at night. I've went
early at four and five in the morning. I've went
in the afternoon about twelve. I've worked out at all times,

(29:46):
in all hours. And let me tell you something, Ben,
the gym is probably one of the most fascinating places
you can go to not only people watch, to not
only better yourself as an individual, but to just experience
the high points and low points of human civilization. It
is incredible to me, Ben, and you and I have
talked multiple times about some of your you could say,

(30:07):
illustrious motivation you found at the gym. You the gym, Yeah,
I I have. I I don't know if I've told
the story in the pipies, but but years ago the
gym right across the street from Fox Sports Radio, there's
a gym that's open all night. I don't know if
it still is or not, but yes, I went in
there a few times. And one one or two times

(30:28):
I went in there, Uh, there was a an actress,
but not a normal actress. She's more of an adult actress.
And you recognize her backside more you could say yes,
and she she had a quite the rump rost there
and make Astrami out of that one. Let me tell
you like that that gym in Sherman Oaks, there's a

(30:52):
lot of like the the adult entertainers worked out at
that the facility, and I happened to be in there
one time. I was the treadmill and it just happened
right in front of me. One of those performers, Uh
was on like the stair climber like in front of me,
and I thought, well, you can't be on the stair
climber that long because you know it's a stair climber

(31:13):
that's really that's an intense work it is. And I
was like, well, I'll just stay on here because it
was for some reason, I enjoyed the view. I don't know,
I don't know why that was. The scenery was very good.
And uh and so I stayed there and and and
and that woman was a beast man. She she stayed
on there. So I was I was sweating, I was dying.

(31:35):
I was like, I can't get off the treadmill. I
gotta stay until. I gotta wait till she getting right.
It was crazy. But yeah, that's so, yeah, it's it's
pretty nuts. It's this is probably a very hidden gem
because Sherman Oaks here is like right outside Los Angeles,
but it's close enough to still be a part of it.
So you have all those celebrities and all those locations
and all and that they all live up in the

(31:56):
hills because bel Air is right above us and a
lot of these mansions are right so they come down
from there their mansions, and they shop and they go
him and all that stuff. Right where we work. There's
a there's a whole foods market. We've talked about this
before in the podcast where Tom Looney used to go
there just to to to watch celebrity like a ra

(32:17):
Yes Keith Jackson when he was alive. The college football
play play guy would be buying tomatoes. They're doing you're
doing that kind of stuff, and uh, he'd see all
kinds of musicians. It's crazy around. You'd be surprised that
the people I can just name you off the top
of my head that I've run into at Whole Foods
because of how such close it is. Well, give me
a couple of names. Okay, So, including the gym and

(32:37):
also Whole Foods, I ran into people like Machine Gun Kelly.
I've seen him there because he's one of the upcoming
rap artists and he used to be rapid. He went
to rock because I guess he smart, he knew he
was falling off. And then I also seen Megan Fox there.
I know they're a couple together. I've also ran into
I know he's not very liked at the moment, but
Kanye West. One time he was there. He was over
at Whole Foods and at the gym. I'm trying to

(32:58):
think who else off the top up. I've also seen
Joy Taylor FS one host, she's been there a few times.
Who else have I see off the top There's a
couple of actors I just can't name. Them off the
top of my head. But I'm sure they'll come back
to me. But it's true, Ben, it's literally a hidden
gym because to them it's like this is low key.
You know, there's not a lot of people, it's not
a lot of traffic. People usually hear the ones that
live here, so they kind of feel like they can

(33:19):
just walk around with the people. Yeah, I know, I
know for sure, for sure, for sure, And then I'm
sure that the gym. I don't go during the day.
Usually every once a while, man, but I usually go.
I'm a late night guy. I like going after the
the Overnight show, and there's all like a bunch of
really old people, and then there's like occasionally like the
gym muscle head guys. Yes, um, every once in a
while go to the gym during that. I love going

(33:39):
to the gym in the afternoon because it's like you've
got women wearing makeup, you've got guys that are all
trying to pick up on them. With me, it's it's
it's like being at a bar. It's an amazing Ben.
It's just bar minus the clothing and minus the drinks.
Oh yeah, it's sensational because I found the best times
to go, so from myself, it's always before I come

(34:01):
to l A, so I usually go to the place
by me. It's called Choose Fitness and Ben, I have
never seen in my life an actual gym that has
a movie theater. Can you believe this? That's pretty cool.
They have a movie theater within front of it, so
they have it so you could work out and watch
like an actual cinema movie. They have like stairmasters in there,
they have ellipticals. It's all cardio based, but like they

(34:25):
literally have a freaking wall and it shows you Monday
at three o'clock Titanic. Tuesday at seven thirty Jack is
back Titanic to you know, they literally show you and
you can go on your phone for the app to
schedule what movie in time it starts to go work out.
How crazy is that? That is nuts? Man, that's great.
I've never heard of that. I've never either. I literally
went there with a friend because she recommended the gym

(34:46):
to me because it was close by my house, and
I was all right, let's go work out. I haven't
left since. Ben, I'm in trance with this place. Pretty cool, man,
that's pretty cool. They have so much well most teams
just have a few TVs or sure, Sure, I'm happy
just because my gym has why five? So that's something
that's a plus. That's a plus. And I've I've changed
gyms so many times, like because I've moved a lot

(35:08):
over the years, a different place around your time, I know.
But I've been to like Jim's in downtown l A.
Where they were homeless guys coming in that smelled like
you're in that got a gym membership and because they
could shower there and was open all night, and you know,
you feel bad for him. And then then there's always
so many people stealing crap at the gym, in the
locker room and behind. It's an interesting mix. But I'll

(35:31):
tell you this, the best things I've seen, Ben is
that's one of them you alluded to is the fact
of like watching dudes go and hit on these ladies,
and these ladies know they're in pristine shape. They take
care of themselves. They're in there like peak of their
performance for their their age and everything. So they're there
and they know what they're there for there exactly that
they also, I think I think a certain percentage in

(35:52):
women know that they maybe I'll find somebody here for sure.
You know they know then they have the matching uh
top and bottom uh. You know, the makeup. If you're
a treadmill with makeup, chances are something to work out. Yeah,
something's up. And trust me, Ben, I'm not alluding to
all of them. There are select few who try to

(36:12):
come between their shifts before works something like that. I
will give them a pass. But Ben, you and I
both know if we see a girl with the matching outfit, sneakers,
who have never touched the floor before, her hair looks
like it was just done, eyeline her eyelash, and she's
there to get some numbers, is what I'll say. He
wants the attention. She knows. And trust me, the one
of the most addicting thing is attention. Everybody wants to

(36:34):
be told they're pretty. Ben, It's just it's how it goes.
It's how it goes. And it's one of those weird
things about humans, like you say, oh, these men are animals,
they're pigs. They're trying to pick up on me. But
then if men don't do it, then you feel like
a minute, I'm ugly, yes going on. So it's like
a catch twenty two situations can't double sword. Yeah, yeah
it is. It's totally double and it's wild to me

(36:55):
because it's like, Okay, I've had this manster too, and
this is a great thing you brought up. I've always
had the mantra where I'm like, you know what, I'm
not going to hit on girls at the gym. They're
here for a reason. This is a young dumbounts. They're
here for a reason. They're trying to work out, get better.
I'm doing the same thing. Let's respect each other, right, wrong,
there's a good percentage of these ladies here that are
actually trying to meet somebody. Because if you think about it, Ben,

(37:16):
the most ideal place people think about to meet somebody
is a bar. Right, you go to the bar. Everybody's drinking,
everybody's communalizing, everybody's trying to meet somebody. Well, actually, a
bar is more of like a hookup scene. So it's
like the dating apps. Now most people think of tender
as the hook up spot. You had Tenderoni with Danny
g back in the day. Right more getting married though
this weekend, which is the craziest thing, by the way,

(37:36):
I almost brought that up. I've been noticing a lot
of bachelor's lately have been getting hitched. What's in the
air right now, Ben, I gotta know. My theory on that,
tell me is it's the post COVID fallout of a
global shutdown for almost two years. Really that is a yeah,
there's a correlation between that. Like people were, you know, single,

(37:57):
It was very hard to date during COVID, right, you know,
harder to get booty calls, like terrible to get in. Uh,
you can't get any you know what. And so you're like,
maybe I should get married that way, you know, I'll
be more more next time the next pandemic and they
shut down the world. So you're saying, these people are
like the toilet paper ones and just getting ahead of

(38:17):
the game and getting their toilet paper. Now. Man, you know,
it's like there's a lot of tentacles to that, that
bacle that we went through a couple of years ago. Well,
what's really funny, Bed, is when you say tentacles in
the anime world, that means some totally lude stuff. By
the way, So that mean, well, there's a lot of
stuff with tentacles in privates. We'll say that there's some
weird stuff for that culture. I'll say that there is

(38:40):
a but you know what's funny is also I don't
know if you've ever shout him out on your podcast,
but shout outs to Bobo. You know how Bobo works
here once in a while too. He was one of
our Yes. So he's getting hitched, man, I don't know
if you know this. Not only do I know that
he showed up to the Halloween party right after he yes,
right after he was at the Halloween party, and we

(39:01):
we were like, the first place he took his bride
to be was to the Mallard mansion to hang out
with us. Ben, he is just like Danny g. If
you put them both in front of me and said
both these guys are gonna be married in five years
from now, I'd say you're crazy. I'd take any other beds. Yeah,
I know you're you're You're not wrong on that. I
mean these guys both good looking guys, a lot of
attension from the ladies and all that, but the swagger,

(39:24):
the cadence, and you would have never thought right But
as you said, COVID changed a lot. Did You're right?
All right? We we gotta wrap this thing up here.
But I didn't want to. We don't have backscratch your
bad job by you. We'd love a nice review on
the Apple podcast page. There none none this week, so
that's out of the show Scientifical. We really don't have
time for too much on Scientifical because we were getting

(39:47):
up against the clock combo though, Ben, I've been enjoying it. Yeah,
it's been fun, but I there are a couple of
stories here well, and these are where we give the
science story and then we figure out whether we believe
it's true, whether it's real or bullshit. Uh. And scientists
have discovered why some poop floats and others sink. That's

(40:08):
that's right in our wheelhouse here poopy talk. Uh this kidding? Yes,
the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota has discovered you know,
you know, um, sometimes do you do a number two?
And sometimes it's a floating number two and sometimes it's not. Anyway,
Approximately ten to fifteen percent of people consistently produce what

(40:31):
they call floaters. Really, yeah, yeah, how about that. This
comes out of New the New Scientists, whatever that is.
And this entire study came about because back in nineteen
seventy two, a medical student at the University of Minnesota
once told his boss, a guy the big big shot
at the school, that that his poop always float. And

(40:55):
so this led to a conversation. Anyway, fast forward too,
and this this guy at the Mayo Clinic decided to
find out the explanation and why hold whether or not
this happens, right, So anyway, they published the paper in
the scientific reports. The researcher explained that to test the theory,
they injected gut bacteria collected from the poop of standard

(41:19):
mice and the poop of two healthy young women into
the stomachs of germ free mice. Anyway, get to the
point please here. What they discovered was that this caused
many of the poops to float. You're kidding, Yes, so
there was there was confusion and all that, but uh,
apparently the closer analysis the mouse floaters revealed they contain

(41:42):
multiple gas producing bacteria. Wow, and that's known to increase
methane production and thus led to you've got a little
more method. Fascinating, Okay, as somebody leads a lot of
fiber band and I'm talking about probably more in a

(42:02):
day than people eating a year is of my diet,
I flatulate more than probably people would ever imagine. And
I'll tell you this, I can't even tell you the
last time I've ever had a floater in my life. Yeah,
I'm a sinker. I'm a sinker too. I'm down with
the ship always. We're sinkers for life. All right, we'll

(42:23):
get out. We don't need it. Why why why not
in there? Not the like the Ohio State Marching Band,
Well not the all right, listen, any remote ties or
any you want to promote here you want to give
putting your description on the on the podcast, but the
anime channel switch and all that stuffy find on Twitter.
And first off, it's an honor to be here with you.
I love talking to every night. I will make sure

(42:45):
to be at your ugly sweater party, and it was
an honor to talk and entertain your fans. If you
guys want any of my stuff, I do multiple podcasts myself.
One of them is on anime. And I'm sure anybody
listening knows somebody that's younger in their life that loves anime.
Toss the podcast their way. It's called an am Sempi podcast.
Anime Sempi podcast. Three words. I'm on TikTok As well,
I've already accumulated of a hundred and twenty thousand followers

(43:09):

It's crazy, more popular happened. You've got your big boy
pants good. Thank you, Bennett, thank you so much. And
also I do a life podcast too, so if anybody
needs some motivation, a different attribute on life, some open
minded opinions, I do one that's called Shallow Oceans Podcasts Ben,
