My teammates have to come on the cruise ship and
watching the fight. I was fighting a Filipino fighter and
it was funny because all the workers on the cruise
ship were Filipino. They all came out of the kitchen

and came out when we were fighting. It felt like
I was fighting Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines.

But I ended up winning.

It was less than thirty seconds to fight, and then
we got the party on the boat for two days.

on a boat cruise ship.

Yeah, it's fine. It was like a movie.

Like really, I can see my opponent. When I first
saw him, he looked like it was on holiday, and

going on this cruise ship and having a holiday. We're

I could just see it in his face. He was
kind of dancing and like it just just overwhelmed, like
he was like, where am I I'm actually to work
not there's the craziest. So overnight we flew to Malaysia,
and overnight from Malaysia to Puqutt we came on the boat.
So I took about I don't know five hours to
get back to Puket and then we docked at the port.

So I wasn't moving and then on the top deck
on the tenth story, no roof, nothing, It was out
on the open mix of the pool.

Like people are like, well, it's just like normal people
on the cruise and they got to watch a fight.

Yeah, so they were poored and they didn't leave.

Yet and they watched all fight.

Yeah, they're all just in the pool hanging out and
the fights. They were like, if it rains, that's probably
gonna be canceled. So hopefully it doesn't rain. And then
you know, we're warming up next to the cock tel power.

And then I said we're walking. And then I think
the theme of the cruise ship was like a pirate thing,
so like the announcer was dressed as a pirate and
all of this. But yeah, when I walked out, I
was like, well, I've got a business first and then
I can party after.

It was like a vacation to fight in a vacation.

It was I think twenty seconds the whole fight. I
dropped him straight away for our hand of the fist
punch and then from their uppercuts until the rift pulled
me off. And then yeah, I had two days did
this Partty and hang out with my friends.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
So that's amazing.

Yeah, it was pretty cool bucket list.

So the last fight, right, you fought on that cruise ship.
You probably fought all over the place to get to
where you are today. We're in Australia. You're fighting Steve Versaig,
who's a tremendous boxer. You hit him bang, put him
out clean. You had been gone for a while, right,
taking some time off to recover, get right to have
that performance there?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
What did it feel like like this was.
Speaker 7 (09:01):
His hometown, Like New Zealand and Australia. We're seeing there's one,
but when we're fighting each other, it's it's a rivalry. Yeah,
and it's the shots you don't see coming that hurt you.
And he didn't see it coming. He didn't adjust for
the extra step I took, and he's a great counter fighter,
but I got we game plan for that that he
would try pull and he didn't pull far enough. And
then that's when that you know, people know him as

from my right hand, but the left hand is the
one that landed. So yeah, just from there, it's instinct.
You know, I've done this so many times now, I
know when someone's hurt and that's a skill. And you
know when I saw he was wobbling, and I knew, okay,
I just need to rush the sky now he wants
the way out. And then the ref saw seen enough
when I landed that right hand and he just shelled up.

And yeah, it was just perfect kind of welcome, welcome
back party and welcome, welcome back fight for myself and
just cemented me right where I wanted to be, and
that's at the top.

You were in the octagon after and I'm interviewing you. Yeah,
and I said, boy, a left hand, because very few
one twenty five pounders can put you out like that.
And you said, I'm MILDI bro, and the place went
absolutely crazy.

I didn't realize how big that was until I went
back home, saying, yeah, that when superviral and really it
on the Zellen and everywhere I went. You know, it
was such a simple sentence but so powerful at the
same time, and just going like I was speaking my truth.

when he asked me that question, No, none of that
was rehearsed.

I was just going off of how I felt the emotion.

And just knowing that you're able to change someone's I
guess mood or reaction just from one sentence it. I
just knew that. Like the next big fight that I'm doing,
I'm embodling all of this. I'm bringing all my culture

with me. It's my superpower. It's something that I draw
on for strength. It's something that I draw on for protection.
But you don't know until you see it, like a
hucker or our culture, how beautiful it is. So yeah,
that's why I get emotional talking about my culture and
everything because it means so much to me.

Yeah, it's fine. It was like a movie.

Like really, I can see my opponent. When I first
saw him, he looked like it was on holiday, and
I was like, bro, we're gonna fight first about about
going on this cruise ship and having a holiday. We're
gonna throw it down.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
So what was he doing?
Speaker 7 (07:13):
I could just see it in his face. He was
kind of dancing and like it just just overwhelmed, like
he was like, where am I I'm actually to work
not there's the craziest. So overnight we flew to Malaysia,
and overnight from Malaysia to Puqutt we came on the boat.
So I took about I don't know five hours to
get back to Puket and then we docked at the port.
(07:34):
So I wasn't moving and then on the top deck
on the tenth story, no roof, nothing, It was out
on the open mix of the pool.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Like people are like, well, it's just like normal people
on the cruise and they got to watch a fight.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
Yeah, so they were poored and they didn't leave.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yet and they watched all fight.
Speaker 7 (07:49):
Yeah, they're all just in the pool hanging out and
the fights. They were like, if it rains, that's probably
gonna be canceled. So hopefully it doesn't rain. And then
you know, we're warming up next to the cock tel power.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Oh my god.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
And then I said we're walking. And then I think
the theme of the cruise ship was like a pirate thing,
so like the announcer was dressed as a pirate and
all of this. But yeah, when I walked out, I
was like, well, I've got a business first and then
I can party after.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
You must had a great time.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
It was like a vacation to fight in a vacation.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
It was I think twenty seconds the whole fight. I
dropped him straight away for our hand of the fist
punch and then from their uppercuts until the rift pulled
me off. And then yeah, I had two days did
this Partty and hang out with my friends.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
So that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, it was pretty cool bucket list.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
So the last fight, right, you fought on that cruise ship.
You probably fought all over the place to get to
where you are today. We're in Australia. You're fighting Steve Versaig,
who's a tremendous boxer. You hit him bang, put him
out clean. You had been gone for a while, right,
taking some time off to recover, get right to have
that performance there?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
What did it feel like like this was.
Speaker 7 (09:01):
His hometown, Like New Zealand and Australia. We're seeing there's one,
but when we're fighting each other, it's it's a rivalry. Yeah,
and it's the shots you don't see coming that hurt you.
And he didn't see it coming. He didn't adjust for
the extra step I took, and he's a great counter fighter,
but I got we game plan for that that he
would try pull and he didn't pull far enough. And
then that's when that you know, people know him as
(09:22):
from my right hand, but the left hand is the
one that landed. So yeah, just from there, it's instinct.
You know, I've done this so many times now, I
know when someone's hurt and that's a skill. And you
know when I saw he was wobbling, and I knew, okay,
I just need to rush the sky now he wants
the way out. And then the ref saw seen enough
when I landed that right hand and he just shelled up.
(09:44):
And yeah, it was just perfect kind of welcome, welcome
back party and welcome, welcome back fight for myself and
just cemented me right where I wanted to be, and
that's at the top.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
You were in the octagon after and I'm interviewing you. Yeah,
and I said, boy, a left hand, because very few
one twenty five pounders can put you out like that.
And you said, I'm MILDI bro, and the place went
absolutely crazy.
Speaker 7 (10:10):
I didn't realize how big that was until I went
back home, saying, yeah, that when superviral and really it
on the Zellen and everywhere I went. You know, it
was such a simple sentence but so powerful at the
same time, and just going like I was speaking my truth.
(10:30):
I didn't rehearse any of that when you told me
when he asked me that question, No, none of that
was rehearsed.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
I was just going off of how I felt the emotion.
Speaker 7 (10:37):
Yeah, just emotion you know who I am. I don't
I don't shy away from being emotional and in my
culture and molticulture, showing emotion as a sign of strength.
And yeah, I was just being open and honest. So
when I said that and I went back home, man,
so many people coming up to me. They didn't wash
the fight. They just saw that and they said, really,
(10:58):
you don't know how much you've done for your people.
And just knowing that you're able to change someone's I
guess mood or reaction just from one sentence it. I
just knew that. Like the next big fight that I'm doing,
I'm embodling all of this. I'm bringing all my culture
(11:20):
with me. It's my superpower. It's something that I draw
on for strength. It's something that I draw on for protection.
But you don't know until you see it, like a
hucker or our culture, how beautiful it is. So yeah,
that's why I get emotional talking about my culture and
everything because it means so much to me.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
It is me.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
This weekend, you have another opportunity to defend that championship
against the guy you fought before Tigron France fought you
on the Ultimate Fighter.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
That was a long time ago.

Is there anything you can take from that fight?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Or are you too?
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Just completely different fighters and you have to prepare yourself
for another guy.

All of the fight is different. Yeah, semi guys with
semi guys, Me and him. When you go to the alternam,
he's gonna remember I'm winning him one time. But all
the fight's different. Doesn't matter. It's fifty fifth all the time.
It doesn't matter who you're fighting, it's fifty fifth all
the time. And Uh, what I want in that fight
is our opportunity to show everybody how good I am.

And I have this opportunity in the International Fighter Week,
yep went off the big guard of the year.

And that's what I want, you know, I want that
fight so bad, you know, I want to fight with
the high level guys. And car car Fins proved he's
a high level guy. He knocked out everybody. Uh, and

you ultimately finally got that title shot. But now you're
just gifted championship fights? Is that because of what you
went through to get there? Is that why? Because you

have to wait so long, you have to beat so
many people that you're like, hey man, you went okay,
come on, I'll fight you with with everybody, Like I mean,
you waited for your title fight.

Sure, you fought everybody.

It was this guy and then how many fights did
he win before he got a title fight? Yeah, you
could have got it after because you beat the best guys.
Now guys getting title fights after one? Did you are
you do you understand I don't really want to make
these guys wait. If they want to fight, they can
get a fight with the chair.

That's nice, you know, that'sh I want to fight with
the new guys, of course, But what I think right now,
uh doesn't matter. Gonna be a rematch with the Moreno
or Revalve. The best fight need to go to the fight,
fight for the belt. The best guy needs to fight

a new blood. I beat him before, but nobody remember

I'm involved so much. I'm evolved so much because now I'

I'm fight with another Kai my last fighter. I fight
with the kaik and I'll have a Kaiker friends. But
he's gonna finish with the same team. I want him
win the fight, maybe with the choke again.

Oh you think you're taking him now. Huh oh, yeah,
he's got the highest takedown on the fence of the division,
but not many can stop you from getting them to
the ground. And once you get him on the ground,
