You got like an Olympic level wrestling now, which which
was it's like a Russian guy Instagram video with the gold.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
You have the gold in a in a in a.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Duo in Paris heavyweight uh l like TV waight to eleven?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, exactly are you wrestling him straight wrestling or are you
doing mm A wrestling?

Speaker 4 (02:30):
No, it was about wrestling. It was the best wrestling
he was in Hart period. I remember I did a
stage like almost pre weeks there with some some guys
like this.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
It was a great experience.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
You put on wrestling shoes.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yeah, of course the size fifteen no stupid.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Shoot, yeah, it looked like you got a small foot man.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, eleven and a half. You know what size I
have you look like? You look like?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, thirteen, absolutely right on the number on the number.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
So you you made that a focus to go back
and just kind of work on the wrestling.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
A little bit, yes, exactly.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
The we did that in the harpriss Or long time ago.
But after that we did a focus on mass treking
game and at the end of the camp we did
another focus on the wrestling with some guy there in
Dubai with Macan, the champion of the one Championship.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I'm g i'mg gonna.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Fight also this Saturday with this culture Hamsi Puyah also Puah.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
We did it with Puya. So with a lot of
guys like this.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
What did you do a lot of your camp back
at home or did you travel more for this camp?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yeah, travel a lot, travel a lot. I did a
big bubble, like I didn't see my family since maybe
almost three months now.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, And we did a real.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Bubble, a real focus at first in Paris because in Morocco.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Now you live in Morocco.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yeah, since uh, since this summer and uh so I
did the bubble at first in Paris, and I did
the bubble in in in Dubai.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Why why did you move to Morocco?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Peaceful for the place.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, you're probably like super famous non parison.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yes, a little bit, and sometimes when you're familius that's
some good on some side.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
But you can't go nowhere. You can't go to grocery.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
It's not about the security.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Also, security is dangers.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, fans like run at you.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
It's not about fan, It's more about the people looking
for your watch or.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Looking for oh yeah yeah, yeah, they got a lot
of money in Morocco.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Did your watch in Morocco? They all got watches?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
No, no, no, in Morocco you have the safety. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
So you're fighting tom Aspen all this weekend, I gotta
tell you. So, there's a few things about this fight
that are very interesting. One is how people seem to
want to write off you in this fight, Like are
you surprised by how much people almost making it feel
like it's a foregone conclusion that Tom Aspernhau is gonna

(05:13):
win the fight this weekend.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
The anfilance, I'm gonna talk about the hand films because
I finished very well, is in the very first round
or second round, and because I'm different, I like to
take my time in because he's on.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
The good race.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
So maybe the n films people like to follow. But
when you're thinking a little bit about the trench and
the weakness and the formal openent we had and all
of the big pictures, it's not going to be in
this fight.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
So that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Though, right when you look at everything, it would seem
more likely that it's a close fight opposed to a wipeout.
But the general public doesn't seem to understand that. So
I asked myself these questions when breaking on the Fight's
Tom Aspinall a bigger power threat than Derek Lewis, No,

(06:03):
but you finished Derek Lewis late in the fight. It's
Tom aspen All the bigger power threat than Francis and Ghanu. No,
but you fought Frances and Ganond for twenty five minutes.
So where's this idea that you're gonna get knocked out
coming from.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
I don't know this is you see what are you
saying that the difference, the infreance exactly about l on media,
about the people who don't know really what is having
made the people just like to watch some videos and Okay,
this guy is the guy, is the best guy. Yeah,
but you need a little bit more focus on it

(06:38):
like you did.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
And the speed right, and the speed you're the one
guy in the heavyweight division that could move around with him?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Also, is this the time right?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Like?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
And I I said this publicly.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I thought that if there was a time that John
Jones should have fought Tom aspinall, it was now. Because
Tom's never fought a long fight. How does he respond
to the long fight? Is right now the perfect time
to be taking this fight because again, when you break,
when you're basing all these things.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Experience in long fights. You have that too.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
So when you look at all these things that should
kind of sway the idea that the fight is going
to be much closer and maybe sway in your direction,
you have experience in all those So like, is this
the time to fight him?

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Because what happens when he goes to round three for
the first time in.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
His career.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Competitions exactly, so we will see. I'm not the magician
I can predict, but I know it's going to be
in my heavantage. I got really more experience in the catch,
really more experienced about the big day or so. So yeah,
but we what you said, we knew that. Yeah, yeah,
we knew that already since a long time ago. So

(07:45):
that's why I'm really excited. That's why I'm It's funny
when the people like to underestimate me. So I like
this position.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
It motivates you.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Do you feel that now be in your third UFC
championship is like do or die for you?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Do what like do like it's now or never for you?
Like it is now or never.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Naturally, like I'm almost thirty six, I'm not really old physically, Uh,
I'm free injury. So if you want, if I if
I got to imagine we lost this fight, maybe yeah,
next next year, after next year, I'm going to have

(08:26):
another chance for sure if I want. Because I'm an athletic,
I'm a competitor.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
And since three years almost four, I'm in the top three.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah every time.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
So if I want to say on the top three,
I think I can with.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
The skill set and everything. Yeah, yeah, you do. You
seem to have the type of style that would hold
up events.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
It's okay, what happened? No, nothing, who's doing that? I
don't know?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
But she she does something with the camera behind Yeah,
this is this is.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
No.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
The noise is not from him, is from her.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
In this career, right and becoming champion, obviously you're the
interim champion before now you're going to fight to try
to become the the lineal champion of the UFC. What
what has been the hardest part of dealing with this
whole career, right from the the ups to the downs,
the good the bad. Like, what's been the hardest part
of dealing with this career as you are on the

(09:35):
verge of.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
What once again the biggest fight of your career.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah, I think the harder was again John Jones, because
we took this fight. Uh we we was not in
the good conditioning and we took this fight that five
weeks before the fight and the result of course, uh
at the very first round like this and the people,

(10:05):
the social media, the media, every people around do some
bad buzz on it, and it was really hard. Like
at this time, I from I got one side of
myself say, Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
You thought about like not being I don't give a shit.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I started this just like that at twenty eight years old.
I'm not dreaming about that at first, you see. And
after that asked me some question and I did some
focus and uh and at this time that's why I
this time something changing and uh and now I'm really
focused on one thing, to be the champion.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, and dispit of terms.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
So who do you when you have those times here?
Or who do you lean on?

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Like?

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Who do you lean on when you go through those
types of times?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Because it's those moments right in those big fights where
it's the third and the fourth and the fifth and
the ship and the ship's hard, right and it's hard
as fucking You're like you got to kind of almost
remember that moment of not having the success you wanted
and how motivated you were to get to where you
are to have the opportunity again, Like, who do you
lean on in those moments that can actually help you

(11:11):
to uh kind of get you through it?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
No, just my my real world. Yeah, yeah, my family,
daughter's wife.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
And like, like I say, I grew up with uh
with with my with my parents my sister brother with
a lot of loves. So I'm stable, Like I got
my hand on my shoulder. That's why I started relate.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Uh I.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
I I got success really quickly, but I stayed really
hambled because of this, so heaven on the on the
hard moment.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Uh this selled me.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Also, you see, you know you you've always kind of
been very uh measured.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I remember we.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Talked one time way back before you for France, as
we talked in Anaheim, and it was the same thing.
You were so young in this game, but you've always
had a very good head on your shoulder.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
What would Saturday night mean to you? To become the
world champion?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
You become the champion you here and new UFC heavyweight Champion?
What would that mean to Cyril gun?

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Like? I think I'm going to be really full of this,
uh this feeling like grateful because I did a lot
of sacrifice.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah, a lot of sacrifice, a lot of a lot
of good, a lot of bad that happened.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Would be amazing and.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
You're gonna make me proud, proud and really happy for home. Michaels,
my friend, my family and defining friends and heavywhere.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
In the world. Well, good luck this weekend.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
