Speaker 2 (01:11):
Let's go all right, guys, Hey Steepe thanks for checking
it with me. Man.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
You know, every time I look at you, I'm like
always like I was like, I can't believe I fucking
was fault this dude, because you're fucking big.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
What do you win right now?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
See that that's the thing, right, You're back up to
the size where you were most effective at every way.
Was it the time away that allowed for you to
put that weight back on?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah? That too. And it's crazy when you look like
heavyweight you get bigger. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah. Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
So while I was watching Countdown or embedded and you
were in those little skivvyes, they look smaller than they
used to when you had got skinny. They were like
kind of loose a little bit, I mean as much
in the front you.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Probably got all kind of like there's no more air
back then. Yeah, look like a flat as a little bit.
You look like a heavyweight big up top.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
The wave came back up here, So the training can's
been going good?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Like, how excited are you to finally be on the
verge of this?
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Because I remember watching when he fought against Cyril Goon
and he said steep and I want to fight you,
and you just didn't look amused.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
No, well gonna beat my ass and like I'm like okay,
and then he got mad because bring it on?
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Can you believe that people are gonna.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Beat ass like house, like okay? Whatever?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I think it's I.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Think he needs to try to put himself in a
place I guess where it's that that that that that
uh animosity, Right, you don't need that.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
So what have you done in this last time? Away?
Speaker 4 (02:44):
It's trained, got better, bigger, learned.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
What did you learn?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Stuff?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
But why did you have to learn? You're already so good?
Speaker 4 (02:52):
No, you always got shot tools.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
So when I when I think about this fight between
you two, Right, he's a big guy, you're a big guy.
There's boxing, kicking, kneeing. Obviously, all that you're boxing is
as good as anyone. Right, your speed is very underrated
for this weight division. Do you anticipate that's gonna be
something that takes him by surprise a little bit? Because
(03:17):
he's not the fastest guy. I'll tell you that you're
much faster than him. After being in the knockdown. Both
hands are much faster and you hit much harder. Do
you anticipate the speed playing the big part in this?
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah? I think I think that's what's got me. It
is my speed.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
I think people are under my speed, and I think
what's making I don't have an answer to it right away,
and then by that point it's too late.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
What did you make of that fight with Cyril gun
his pants?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Man? You believe that it happens.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
No, one doesn't happen. Come on, you try to be nice.
Don't be nice?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
That was crazy.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Yeah, I don't know what happened, Like even I don't know,
but I was there. I can't I can't explain it,
but I wasn't there.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
He does it.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
He's done it to everybody, Like he did that move
to me, He did it to Like when you kind
of get down in front of him, he tries to
kind of yeah, you don't.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Tap to that though.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
It was weird to see the way he looked at him. Yeah,
is gonna try to kick my ass next time.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
I see him because I've been like, I've been really
harder to do because I don't understand how that happens
at that level.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yeah, I mean he's tough guy.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
He's very good.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yeah, he's good. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe this card
got top in the moment, who knows.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, but What did you make of it?
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Because when I watched it wasn't much, right, but you
see the movement Jones kind of went. It was a
little bit big punch, caught and take him down. Did
you what can what could you take from that? Because
you made it a point to be there, right, because
you knew that's gonna.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Be Yeah, yeah, I don't know, I think, uh that
much happened.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
But like you just you saying he did maybe just
a little bit slower, I guess because he.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Did look a little slower though, right, he did look
a little bit slower and with the big wing you punch,
he said, he's gonna be like two thirty five this fight.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Did you did you think you would lose a little
weight after?
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Yeah, doesn't worry wherever he wants to way you wait
to forty?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Are you gonna wrestle?
Speaker 4 (05:08):
We'll see.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
That's one thing you don't do as much. And you
got good wrestling.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
He said, he can't take it back.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
He can't take it back.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
God damn it. I gave him compliment. No, but you
got good. You don't use it much.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
You used it in the fight against uh Mark Hunt amazing.
Use it in the fight against Roy Nelson amazing, but
it's not something you rely on.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Why well, if I'm gonna take it, but I'm not
gonna force it because every fight starts standing. So if
I'm doing well on my feet, I'm not gonna change
it up unless I have to.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, you know, you fought in some of the biggest
fights heavyweight history. How does this one stack up to
all those ones from before? Like in terms of the
how big this fight feels? Because initially it felt like, well,
Steve hasn't fought, John hasn't fought. These guys are making
sure that they fight each other. It doesn't make sense,
not for the heavyweight championship, But the moment the week
earned it felt more real, like I'm watching the two
(06:02):
best heavyweights right right away.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Like, how's that feeling? In regards to the rest.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
I feel great, man, just like y'all been out for
a little bit, but coming back this week and just
interviews light week. You know what is you know, the
juices pumping flowing again.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
It's just he's still on business too. Like you, I
don't know, you're like you live in Ohio, You're a
white guy. I don't know if you know what's standing
on business? Means that's some that's some hips ship, right,
Like you know, I finally learned that from the kids
I coached.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I feel like I'm cool, right.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Sometimes I say, shouldn't kids laugh at me? It's like,
so stand on business, Like you said, I'm fighting for
the belt. I'm not doing nothing else. Like was the
ever a time in that where you're like, oh my god,
this in my backf arm?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Are you okay? Just being done?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I mean I wanted to come back, yeah, just you know,
just to laugh about a headway?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
You know what heave is?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
That's that's like, that's the white ship that I don't know,
show you the blazing that you know, what is a headway?
Speaker 4 (06:55):
About three pounds? What about three pounds?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
How much was a hen way?
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (07:05):
That was good?
Speaker 2 (07:06):
That was really good.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
But that was the ship that make the kids laugh
at you like that joke like that gonna make your
children it's just embarrassed by you too, Like, oh dad,
that was disgusting, but it is nothing better embarrassing but disrespect.
This week, that was good.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's hard to move on. I want to live in it.
It was so good that I kind.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Of want to live in it. The disrespect that you've gotten.
Do you feel it because I'm I'm I feel like, honestly,
I'm out there, like I'm out there actually defending you.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
I'm on First Street this morning and I'm talking about this.
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
I told stephen A. Smith, I go, hey, I go.
I know you're a big time Johns wont Jones fan.
He loves it, I said, but this is a real fight,
and don't be surprised if you leave Madison Square on
Saturday night and Steve ain't MEO is just the champion. Yeah,
do you feel the disrespect?
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
I mean I'm always I feel like I'm always gonna
do my whole career. I think a lot of times,
like everything you know, I always get overlooked or just
don't get what I get.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
I mean, yeah, it's okay. I mean said, I explained
the party.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
But doesn't feel good to shut him up when you
love it the whole time.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah, so are you retiring on Saturday?
Speaker 4 (08:19):
I will find out Sunday.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Really you win this belt, you would actually walk away?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
I don't know. Well, I'm not worried about that. I
worry about the fighting till I.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Came about that. But that's when the narrative right like
steep as this is it. This is steep A's last fight.
Like I don't think you ever said that. He said
he might retire after that.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I'm just warning fight. That's all I care about.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Try to go get him.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I'm gonna get with the bottom pressure. He could be
a big man. You better watch the ass. He gonna
get mad at you. You know you get mad about everything. Guys.
This dude right here is a real deal. Man.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I've spent I mean shit three times twenty five. We
fought each other for almost fifty minutes. It was horrible, too.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Terror.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
He hits so hard, like fudding, Like I remember like
being inside the apex and he would hit me and
it would go boot and I was like, god, damn it.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
He got me again.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
One time was going on because at the lights, I
was like, what happened? Oh he lost?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Oh it's good. That's some bullshit. When that happened.
Speaker 6 (09:14):
That happened to me one time too.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
You pushed me in my stomach.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I was like, again, come on, dude, stop fucking hit
me in the stomach. He kept hit me in the
stomach over and over again.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
It was crazy.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
But again, this man does that, right, Steve m Miotis
does that. He does what people think he can't do,
and he's done in time and time again to becoming
the most successful heavyweight in USC history. Saturday, he goes
to try and to come the UFC champion for a
third time.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
People don't do that.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
As he takes on John Jones at UFC three or nine, guys,
make sure you tapping everything Steve as doing. Hit that
pay per view by button on ESPN Plus, like subscribing

Channels up man. So every week I saw in countdown
you going home? Are they flying you private every week?
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Like that?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
No, you're a liar, bro, Like you're literally getting on.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
A private play.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
You said every week on Friday night, you're getting on
a private play back to Tennessee.
Speaker 7 (11:51):
Hey, listen, I was able to I was able to
realize that I would get forty seven waking hour with
my family every forty seven waking hours every weekend because
I was When you talk about travel time, it's a
lot faster on private. You know, you don't have to
set for two three hours in the airport. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
if you add it all up, and that's the flight times.
I mean, once COVID hit there used to be like
(12:12):
six direct flights from Fort Lauderdale to Nashville. Now there's
like two, one seven am, one seven pm. So I'm
e they're gonna mispractice on Friday because.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
I can't do that. I can't do that.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Yeah, or by the time get the kids bed, so
it's like forty seven extra hours.
Speaker 7 (12:25):
I mean, that's more bedtimes, that's more book times, that's
more you know, family prayers around.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
So you're just private playing, and I mean you look
like the type of mode.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
That's flying private all the time too.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
I'm just looking at you right now, you kind of
look like you fly private.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
All Sometimes I'm blessed, but I'm blessed that day.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Thanks for checking it with me.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Of course, Guys, Iron Michael Chandler's back. You have three
or nine versus Charles OLIVERA but before we can get here,
we gotta go back obviously, right, you're a guy that
is on the other side in regards to doing television,
being in front of the camera at the hard questions.
You've been sitting for a minute waiting on this massive fight.
(13:06):
But you make a lot of money if you just
fought all those times in the in the in the
in the over the course of that time. Yeah, clearly
you've done very well financially. Was it more about the
money that came with the big fighter? Was it more
about just actually being out there and beating Connor McGregor,
Because you can fight Connor and get a bit of
a rubb, but you gotta beat Connor McGregor to ultimately
(13:26):
get with Dustin Poorier.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Got kuld be even all those guys got Honestly.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
Yeah, it was more being a man in my word
and wanting that fight. I mean, obviously we did the
we did The Ultimate Fighter in I got the phone
call in January, so I fought Poorier in November, had Thanksgiving, Christmas,
and all of a sudden, Hunter Campbell's call me and saying, hey,
you want to do the Ultimate Fighter against Connor? And
that started in January. And at that point in time,
(13:50):
you're like, okay, we already did The Ultimate Fighter, we
filmed it, we're building it up. Yeah, okay, when we
pushed it a couple months, we pushed it two months
or push it.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
It was never like it's over.
Speaker 7 (13:59):
Yeah, I mean, I know, what, have ever called me
and said, hey, he's not fighting for eighteen months, right,
probably would have pivoted, but he was always like a
little bit here, a little bit there, now, it's not
till this, you know. So it was partly because of that,
and we could never really get a clear answer. But
between me and you on camera on microphone, like I
enjoyed having a little bit of time.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yeah, for sure, as you said, like.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
Love the UFC, love fighting, but I am not beholden
to the UFC paycheck. I am a self sufficient man
making money multiple times, multiple ways without fighting. So it
was nice to be able to be able to cash
in on that, so to speak, and say, Hey, I'm
just going to be a businessman, an entrepreneur. I'm gonna
work on my investments. I'm gonna work on my being
with my family. And it was a great time for
(14:40):
my body and my soul.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
I did the podcast with you right as you started
on your deal with you do a fantastic job of anyways.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
But you're as you're waiting, right, I remember when they
kind of got hurt.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
I said, cha, tell me you sit me up at
your brave heart, hold the line.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I get that.
Speaker 7 (15:01):
It was a little harry for a couple of days,
and I'm like, is this freaking fight gonna get canceled?
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Man?
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yeah, press conference got canceled. And I'm like, I'm not
really getting a real answer because I mean, UFC can't
they can't just flat out to tell you he's injured.
I mean, that's that would be against the.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Rules, especially if he's if his attention is still trying
to fight.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, you know. So it was it was like, God,
this looks a little hairy man.
Speaker 7 (15:21):
This doesn't feel good, but I really did stave laser focused.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
All I could do was focus on the main thing,
which is training.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Man.
Speaker 7 (15:26):
I kept them staying in the gym all the way
up until eight twenty two pm on September thirteenth, when
a hunter called me and was like, hey, man, it's off. Yeah,
it's off.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
How do you stay so positive in the face of
all this? Because we talking about you constantly? Me and
asking were talking about you. Your friends were like, yo,
Mike is bugging out. But then everybody's got an opinion.
But don't know, how do you stay so positive in
the face of all that? Or is it because you're
on the other side of it, knowing that you had
times have to give opinions?
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah, I mean I think I'm on the other side.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
I'm in the know.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
I'm in the actual story right like we are.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
I am the property.
Speaker 7 (16:00):
I am the thing that people are talking about, and
they are talking about it with their opinions or their
assumptions or their their from what their experience says what.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
They would do if they were in my position.
Speaker 7 (16:11):
I knew I was making the maybe the right decision,
maybe the wrong decision, but I was making my You
were making a.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Decision for you.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
And if I made the wrong decision, if all of
this turned out the way that it was going to
and Connor was going to not ever show up, or
Connor was gonna get injured, Connor.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Was going to pull out of the fight, that's fine.
I can I can live with that. I made a
decision and I can live with it.
Speaker 7 (16:28):
Accountability is a superpower and in life, everything that ails,
the human condition is because we don't take enough accountability.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Look in the mirror and say, that guy right there
is the reason why I am in this position. The
man in the mirror stare.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I want to pass it off on somebody else, points.
Speaker 7 (16:42):
Fingers, you know, so like and maybe that's a you know,
a fool's err and sometimes and maybe you make the
wrong decision and.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Maybe you know.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
But but ultimately, man, I just knew I was in
a good spot. I enjoyed the process. And if a
bad thing happens, but a good thing.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Comes from it, was it really a bad thing?
Speaker 7 (16:58):
But they're in on the cusp of Madison Square Guard
five round co main event number one contender fight. I
beat Charles Olivera on Saturday Night. I beat Islam in
twenty twenty five. I am the oldest UFC champion a lightweight.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Howe were you?
Speaker 1 (17:10):
When you want to let on?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Even don't even you can't do it, bro.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
I'll I'll be I'll be thirty nine, but I'll be
a thirty nine, I'll be.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
It's harder to do at your weight. Oh yeah, heavyweight
at heavyweight.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
Thirty nine compete in the one fifties since I was
seventeen years old.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, thirty nine years old is crazy light I would
have been six two. There is no there is no
old young small weight champions.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Yeah, heavyweights, Yeah, for sure we could do it.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Sean Shirk was the oldest at thirty three, and then was.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
How old is no like thirty two? Thirty three years old? Yeah,
he's very young people, so they're all very young.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
But again, now you get past all that, right, all
the noise, you get to call your fighting Charles Olivera,
Madison square guard, all those great things that you just did.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Mike, you're an.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Easy You motivate yourself at a level that most can
never can never do. But to fight Charles Olivera the
first time motivation comes easy. You're fighting for the belt.
A rematch without that on the line, though, how easy
was the motivation and where did you draw from it from?
I know you draw from your kids and your wife,
But like what said, I know this guy's dangerous. What
(18:20):
makes me get up to go fight this dude where
the goal isn't so present, right, Because it's easy to
get motivated when that belt is sitting right next to
the octagon.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, I mean truly.
Speaker 7 (18:31):
I think when you're fighting in the top of the
division against the top guys, the belt is always kind
of on the line, whether you're fighting for it or
you're either one away, two away. You make a statement
when I make the statement that I believe I'm gonna
make on Saturday night, I'm fighting for the title next,
So I'm one fight away from fighting for I'm fighting
for the title next with a win. So the way
that's the way that I see it, I also get
(18:52):
a right get to right or wrong.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
I did lose to Charles the first time.
Speaker 7 (18:55):
I was close right there, and I think, if you
want to talk about pressure, man, you know you don't
want to rest.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
So that wrestled to overtime.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Yeah, you know, he essentially won in overtime because because
you had him on the ropes like that, right, and.
Speaker 7 (19:06):
It's like, whereas me like, I'm not even supposed to win.
I lost the first fight. You know, there's no pressure
on me.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Man.
Speaker 7 (19:12):
And also I've just completely flipped my mindset and changed
my mindset.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Man. I love this sport.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
I I won't want to say I hated it, but
it was tough for a second going through all of
those things. And all of a sudden, I get done
with a training camp. By the time I'm able to
walk again and my face is finally not swollen again,
all of a sudden, I'm getting another phone call. Hey,
You're going back in the training camp in three weeks. Okay,
let me go make sure I do extra stuff with
with my kids and with my wife. Let's go on
a little vacation.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
And then before you know it, boom right back to it.
And it was tough.
Speaker 7 (19:37):
For the twenty six months I was signed with the organization,
had six training camps, six opportunities, one was the backup,
and then five fights of the night, Fight of the year,
debut of the year, knock out of the year.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
I mean, it was an absolute murderer's row.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
So a little bit of a break was great for
me and uh, I can't wait for you to see
it on Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Yeah, it's gonna be fun. So when you look at
this matchup, do you see from the armand Srukin fight, right,
Because there's things out there now about Charles Olivera today
we don't have is things on Michael Chandler for the
last two years. Do you see any changes in him
after watching him fight armand Sruki on.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
I mean, Arman was obviously able to take him down
and control him a lot, landed some big shots on bottom.
Charles will sit and guard and he's not afraid to
sit and guard. I think part of it is because
I think he I don't think he really thinks he's
gonna he's gonna get a submission by laying down there.
I think he's just like, well, I'm gonna let let this,
let this fight play out, and I'm just gonna lay
down here, and I'm okay losing this round and I'm okay,
(20:35):
I'm okay winning the round if I'm on top. However, man,
I just think I am completely different and he is
a lot of the same. And also he's coming off
of that loss, which is he's probably lost a little
bit of confidence after losing that fight.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
I was there cage side watched it.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
Armon did a lot of great things, but I think
I'm gonna be so much different. Too fast, too powerful,
too tenacious, and too big of a calling.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Do you think you said something on Kyle down that
was very like, oh my goodness, he said At the time,
he had this reputation of quitting. Right, If you believe that,
then there's no way you can ignore it in the
fight when you hurt him. But now after fighting him
and gaining that respect for him, do you feel like
that it's just that one simple change will allow for
(21:18):
you to compete better, right, Because you don't think that
he's gonna it doesn't matter if he showed it that
he had changed a little bit, excuse me, doesn't show
like him beating this guy and this guy and going
on that wind streak to fight you for the belt.
It doesn't matter because in your mind, if you've seen
him quit, you always go back to that. It's human
nature to call back on their week. But then once
(21:39):
you're in there with him and you realize, okay, he
did it against me.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Because it's easy to see a guy do something.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
A guy can go kick Luis's ass. That's Luis right there,
he's my producers. I can watch a guy kick Luis's
ass and I'll go, what a dude's all right? Right,
But if he fight me, I'm gonna get him until
he gets me, then I'm like, okay, now I'll respect
that man. Then it will allow for me to compete
it it's him better the next time.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Yeah, you think that's the same.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
One thousand percent. I think.
Speaker 7 (22:04):
I think the fact that the fact that I had
that mentality going into that fight against Charles, I mean
could because that that can make the fight over almost
give you too much confidence.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Like, yeah it does.
Speaker 7 (22:14):
Chandler, Dude, there ain't nobody they can hang with me.
I'm gonna break this dude, He's gonna quit. That did
not happen. Now, I have to respect that leading into
this fight now knowing what his strength of schedule has
been now, because the one thing I will say is
it was he only a six or seven fight wins. Yeah,
you can get the leading into the title show, but
they weren't great high ranked guys either, so you didn't
have a crazy strength of schedule. And then you also
(22:35):
had previous fights before that where he would quit, he
would fake an injury or whatever, it was, all these
different things. Now Charles has changed that tune, he has
changed that public perception.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
But once a quitter, always a quitter, that little quitter
is still inside of him. But I got but I
think it's way down. We've all got a quitter in us.
We got to read bros. Humans, we all got it.
Speaker 7 (22:55):
It's just got to be brought out. And maybe I
can do it on Saturday. Maybe I can't.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Maybe it's a knockdown, drag out war.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
I said that yesterday.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I was like, I realized I'm a quitter. Bro I
one time I won the world.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Title in the UFC, went to hot yoga on Monday,
faked an injury.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Mike, I faked an injury, was hot.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
In the rope.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
I was like, oh my god, I'm a quitter, exactly
like I faked an injury. But you're right, it's in there.
You got to just be able to go find it
with y'all.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Little there. It seems to be hidden, Mike.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Before I let you go, dude, last thing, you know,
the whole Connor McGregor thing seems to be behind you
or is it right?
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Is there still a hope that that fight happens?
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Because there were times where people would say McGregor fight,
title fight, I'm taking the McGregor fight. Is that fight
still a thing that you want to have? You just
kind of completely pushed it out of your mind.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
I mean, I've pushed it out of my mind because
we're three days away from what you have to fight, right,
But when it comes to I mean, you've seen Connor's interviews,
he's talking about me. I think Connor doesn't get enough
credit for for how much he does love and a
pre ciate this sport.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Connor is nothing without the UFC.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
He's nothing without the sport of mixed martial arts and
what he has done is is nothing short of amazing.
But he is nothing without this promotion and he loves
the sport. He respects it more than we give him
credit for. I think he wants to right the wrong
of him pulling out of his first fight ever. He's
fought numerous guys injured, but it battled through injuries. One
fight he didn't show up for and that's Michael Chammer.
(24:24):
So I don't think that he wants that to be
a stain on his legacy. And I think he does
come back, because I don't think this is the way
that he ever wanted to.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Leave the sport. With that being said, if it never happens,
I'm completely cool. I'm fine. I'm fighting for the title
next half. But midnight Saturday night, I am.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
The number one contender and I'm the highest ranked guy
not named Islam or Armand and I will be cage
side wherever that fight is, and.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I'll be fine. I know where it is.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
You know where I do.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
I'm not telling you.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
And it's gonna be sunny, it's gonna be nice arms.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Yeah, dude, I'll be and I'll be watching watch.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Hey, let me tell you about Ace Chandler. He's a
bro that's like Channel is huge.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
Tell you what, dude, Halp is half is tall and
he's tall and lean, and Ace is like a freaking
middle linebackers middle linebacker.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Put him in wrestling, man, won't you put it?
Speaker 3 (25:17):
With that big property you got, you can just build
your own restroom and trainer.
Speaker 7 (25:20):
Move.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
You gotta come out to this.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
You're moving? Why would you move out of that place?
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Excuse me?
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Got a different out, yo.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
