Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is be Joey P joe P Zapia,
and we've got one more in us. That's right, one
more mock draft before we say goodbye to draft season.
As Derek Brown likes to spell at SZN, which I
already have said on Twitter, I'm outlawing the rest of
the year. Nobody can say that anymore. I'm sick and
(00:21):
tired of it. I have had it up to hear
with every fantasy analyst saying it's so and so, it's
Jacorey Krosky, merrit Sison, it's this person's sisn't enough of it.
It's old, it's tired, and so am I. So we
got a great show for you today, the last mock
draft here. We know this is the biggest draft weekend
every single year, Labor Day weekend. We hope you're enjoying
all of your Labor Day festivities and of course joining
(00:43):
me Debro, Derek Brown, the King of Bros. Pat fitz Morris,
who's in a really good mood wearing his Packers jersey.
I can't wait to see the Micah Parsons version that
he has got my goodness, Patty Cakes is in a
great mood and joining us a very special guest, a
man whose career in the acting world has spanned and
five decades. That's like him. Wow. And Michael Caine for well,
(01:04):
you know, eighties, nineties, two thousands, the tens and the twenties, right,
I mean that's five last time I checked. His name
is Jerry O'Connell. You know him from obviously films like
Jerry McGuire, Scream Franchise. You know him from Stand By
Me in my childhood. And he's a fellow loser Mets
fan like me, which I also know. So I'm very
(01:24):
happy to have you on the show today.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Jerry.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, so exciting, I really. I mean we got in
touch with each other because I posted a photo of
me at my daughter's volleyball game while I was drafting,
and somebody here saw the little Fantasy Pros window on
the side of my draft and said, like, look you
here love Fantasy Pros. It's so funny. My Fantasy Pros
(01:49):
story is so interesting. About three years ago, I'm actually.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
New to Fantasy Pros. Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
About three seasons ago, I was in the first round
of the playoffs and I believe I was playing Hunter
Renfro or somebody like that, and he had a bunch
of terrible games and I dropped him. And then the
first round of the playoffs, the guy I was playing
picked the Hunter Renfro off off of Waivers and started
(02:15):
him and he had thirty points and I lost and
I went, hey, congratulations, you beat me.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I'm out of the playoffs. How did you know to
play Hunt? How did you know? Like I had Hunter
and I had to drop him. How did you know?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
And he went, I just had a feeling, And I went, sorry,
if I'm cursing, I love it. I've had Hunter Renfro.
I played him three weeks. He gave me two points
a game. I played him on that Sleety Raiders Browns game.
You don't even remember it?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
We do.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I was like, how did you know? And he said,
Fantasy Pros told me to play him. There you go,
And I went, what is Fantasy Pros? And he went,
it's an app that I used to help me with
my lineups. And I literally I use power ranking. I
just use the power rankings with my team. I don't
really look at anything else. I look at like, where
am I in my league? Power rankings, power rankings, powering
(03:09):
and making trades, trying to move up one point here,
one point there, and not this last year I came
at second, but the year before I still got money
for coming in second. Year before I finally won my
fantasy league in the last place in every year. So
I'm a real believer in Fantasy Pros. And when you
ask me to come up for this mock draft, I'm
going to use the tools that I get on Fantasy
(03:31):
Pros and a little bit of h I do have
to say when I use my own insight, that's where
I actually lose points in the power rankings. That we
are got to put our little special sauce some things.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
That's a tremendous man.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I mean that.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Look, if that's not a success story, I don't know
what is. So again, like I always say, don't be
a tool, use the tools. We're live on our twitch
today Twitch dot tv slash Fantasy Pros because this was
a last minute thing, but you're probably watching it back
on the YouTube channel. Subscribe to the YouTube channel, which
I to get to three hundred thousand subscribers this year,
and we could do it with your help. And again,
Jerry is joining us here for the draft today. Super
(04:07):
excited to have you here. And we have our draft
spots here against PPR. We've got one QB, two running backs,
three wide receivers, one tight end, and of course no
kickers because we don't roll that way. We've got Pat
in the four spot. We've got Debro in the eight spot.
I'm taking the turn at twelve, and Jerry, you're picking
(04:29):
at one O five.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Now.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I do recall once upon a time you did play
Frank Cushman in Jerry maguire, Is that too much pressure
being the number one pick? Is that why you moved
down to five in this draft today?
Speaker 3 (04:41):
You know what's funny is I'm in count them seven, yes,
seven leagues, all right, and I found myself I'm always
sort of in the middle of the pack, and so
that's where I've been doing a lot of my mock drafts,
all on Fantasy Pros, all on Draft Wizard, and that's
where I'm around. So I actually, uh, in two of
my leagues, I was at the fo Worth pick, so
that's typically where I pick. But uh, Pat took that
(05:04):
fourth spot.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
All right, Well, Pat, you're on the clock. I'm gonna
let Jerry make his pick here. Uh, and we'll start
pat yeh.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Now, listen, I like I like picking Cowboys. I think
with Micah leaving Dallas, I think they're certainly not going
to be a defensive minded team any longer. They're gonna
be an offensive minded team. And I find that teams
with defences tend to score a lot of points. Now
I'm looking at Justin Jefferson, Jamier, and Christian. I've really
(05:33):
been staying away from Christian.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
I just my friend.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
It's just too frightening.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
And by the way, I I don't even know what
PRP is or what it stands for, but I'm not
sure if it works Justin Jefferson. I do have to say,
jj is a quarterback. I don't know how he's gonna do.
You have him ranked pretty low, so I'm not sure
he's gonna have the best season. So I'm gonna go
with Jamiir Gibbs here with my second pick, even though
(05:58):
Fantasy pros is telling me to pick.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Up at seventy percent. That's what the experts say.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Well, look, would.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
You make your own decisions around here? These are just
the suggestions. Let's go through the first couple of picks.
Jamar Chase at one to one two, the Jon Robinson, Pat,
you did take Ceedee Lamb at one o four? Why
him over the running back? Is it just the way
you like the board where it comes back to you
at this point?
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Yeah, just favor wide receiver a little bit over running
back in the early rounds in leagues where you have
to start three wide receivers.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
And you know, tell the truth. Yesterday when that trade
went down, did you take your shirt off and run
around your house? Like? I know your kids are all
at college now, so you had the house to yourself.
I mean, walk me through the series of events there
when that Micah Parson straight happened.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
One of my kids told me about the trade via
text and didn't believe him at first, quickly check Twitter,
then immediately had to drive into downtown Chicago for a
live draft and was just there driving the whole time
listening to the reaction from angry Cowboys fans on serious
x MNFL radio.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
And then when.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
I parked, I had like forty seven texts from all
the Packers fans in my life.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
So not's a pretty interesting night. Yeah, certainly, no, I.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Do want to tell Pat Pat should calm down a
little bit. You still have to score points to win.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Go oh, here you go, shots fired, Debro, look at that.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I don't know if mister Reid is going to be
uh lightening up for you. So let's just let's just
temper expectations here. You know, congratulations, but there.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Justin Jefferson went after Jerry's pick of Gibbs, then McCaffrey, Deebro.
You took Melak Neighbors. Then I'm on ross A Brown goes,
Nico Collins goes, then Derrek Henry went right before me,
which I am irritated about. So I double tapped wide
receiver than Brian Thomas Junior goes, Ashton Genty, then Puka
Nakua Devon h Chan two oh five. You took aj Brown,
So Debro, walk me through Molik neighbors, aj Brown that
(07:52):
stack of wide receivers to start while Jerry makes his
pick on the clock.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Yeah, man, I mean, I haven't drafted a lot of
Malik neighbors. Been a little bit worried about Russ this year.
But I say, like, i' mean, the performance is preseason.
Jackson Dart has to make you feel good, so we're
eventually going to see him at some point this year.
So the target upside is there, wide receiver one overall
upside is there. And then around the turn, I was
hoping to get one of gent or Aham, but they
both went off the board. So I'll take a swing
(08:17):
on aj Brown. Like I know the risk and stuff.
But the Eagles, it's not a question of if.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
It's a question of.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
How much they are going to throw more this year.
So at this point in the second round, double tap
and wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Yeah, I'll go with.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
It, all right, Jerry, you can make your pick at
any time here.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I am gonna pick.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Fantasy Pros has set this strategy for me in every
one of my drafts.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
I'm taking Brock Bowers second, and he's falling everywhere. He
fell to me. In the CBS Experts draft, I had
the one.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I gotta say I want.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
I wanted to pick Chase Brown really bad. I'm a
big Chase Brown fan. But when Brock is there in
the second, it's just I've been I've been really designing
every draft I'm in in Brock in the second.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah, it's been crazy. Like the fall just because we
see a couple well, you know a couple of times
where all of a sudden, we're seeing some different personnel
on the field. Have we forgotten that brock Bowers is
the best tight end on the.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Planet right now?
Speaker 1 (09:06):
I deebro in the CBS Experts Draft. I had the
one oh one pick. He made it back to me
in the second third turn, and I had, I mean,
of course I'm gonna take him there. So I ended
up starting Lad McConkie, Jamar, Chase brock Bauers, deebro. That
feels illegal to me.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
That shouldn't happen in any world, in any reality. That
should not be possible.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Love it, especially in the Experts league. It's like everybody
from NFL network, at the CBS guys and all. I
couldn't believe that Jake Seally's in that league. And he
was like, I can't believe he made it all the
way back to you, all right. So brock Bowers to Jerry,
I know you're on the clock again. Let's get Pat's
pick in. He took Bucky Irving at two oh nine,
then Josh Allen at two ten, Lamar Jackson two eleven,
Chase Brown finally does go off the board at two twelve,
(09:46):
Kyron Williams at three to oho one, then Trey McBride
at three oh two, Lad McConkie, and then T Higgins.
So Bucky and T Higgins for you, Pat, let's talk
about those picks.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Jerry got me on Brock powers, so I had to
settle for Bucky Irving.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
But I was okay.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
I knew it was going to be one of those
two when it got to Jerry. I just Bucky was
fabulous by every metric last year, and in games where
he had at least a fifty percent snapchair, I think
he averaged like one hundred and twenty seven yards from
scrimmage and scored six touchdowns in those seven games. So
feel pretty good about him anchoring the running back stable,
(10:22):
and you know T Higgins coming back if you can
stay healthy. The Bengals are in a situation like those
Dallas Cowboys, where really good weapons in the passing game,
not such a great defense on paper, so they're probably
gonna throw a lot and get into a lot of
high wire, slugfast type games.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
All right, great comment here from Jhow dude, I wouldn't
have taken Brock if you weren't the one who set
the experts.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
That's right, you really, so it's sort of your your fault.
Let me just talk about my pick right there at
three h five. I went against a lot of your
suggestions there. I had JSN, I had Garrett, I had
DeVonta Adam, all those guys. I'm too afraid to take
any rams until we see what is going on with
Matthew Stafford's back. And I want Jayden Daniels, and I
(11:08):
gotta say if I wait till the fourth for him,
which is what you guys all suggest I do, sometimes
I don't get him, and I think he's gonna break
all sort of rushing and passing records this year. So
I reached a little bit and I went to go
get Jayden. I don't think you.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Know what, considering that Lamar and Josh Allen went there
in the second round, it's not absurd. I mean, Jadan
Daniels in terrific talent there Team six right after it
goes ahead and takes Tyreek kill. Then Terry McLaurin Deebro
went tight end with George Kittle. We'll talk about that
in a second. Here. Garrett Wilson goes off the board
next and JSN James Cook and then I double tapped RB,
so I like this strategy down at the turn, take
(11:41):
the two best wide receivers on the board, and when
it comes back to you, take the two best running
backs on the board. So I took Omari and Hampton
and Trevion Henderson. Yes, sure, Naji Harris is there, Rimandre
Stevenson is there. Both those guys could certainly, you know,
at least share that workload. But at the same time,
we're talking about the guys and I think over time
end up winning out in terms of touches. I think
it's gonna be Hampton and Henderson. I think Henderson could
(12:02):
have a huge breakout season. I think he could be
the way Jamir Gibbs was a breakout a couple of
years ago. That's how good I think he could be.
Joe Burrow goes next. Then Davonte Adams. Boy, what a
what a four stack of wide receivers this team his
Team ten, Nico Puka, JSN, DeVante Adams zero RB strategy
watched Team ten, Alvin Kamara and then debro On Brand
Ken Walker. So talk about Kittle and ken Here for me, Debro.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Yeah, I'm heavy into paying over for tight end this year.
If it's not one of the top three. Then I'm
kicking the bucket down the road and it's Andrews and
Tucker Graft. But where Kittle goes this, I could have
leaned into going more zero RB. But with Kenneth Walker
sitting on the board, I mean, I've been on brand
the entire offseason.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
He's one of my guys.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
If he stays healthy, and I know it's a big
if in this rushing offense and with this type of
talent and the offensive line, I think is going to
play better this year. I mean, he's got top five
to eight running back up side this year. So taking
him in the fourth round as RB one, I'm here
for it.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
All right, Prestall goes next, Jalen Hurts and Jerry you
did still end up with a wide receiver one Mike Evans.
Every single year people say, you know, well, maybe this
is the year Mike Evans doesn't do it. But no
one's been right yet.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
I know, you know, I know a good friend of
mine who works over at Barstool's name is Stephen Chay.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
He loves uh.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
He's he's he's a huge Bucks fan, and he says
it's a priority to get Mike Evans to break that
record this season. I was looking at Tatorria McMillan. I
do want to be a part of that Carolina offense.
I think they're going to be getting a lot of
points scored against them and so therefore having to score
a lot of points. But I just went with the
with the vet, what do you want me to do? Well, look,
they were suggesting it by about ten.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Jerry, I almost took him in my pore, So I
love it.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yeah, I don't think it. And of course Pat stuck
it to you on the other end there because he
took McMillan right after, so no chance that he makes
it back to you here. So McMillan goes to Pat,
then Chewba Hubbard goes at four to ten, four eleven,
Marvin Harrison Junior, then Dj Moore at the end of
the fourth round, beginning of the fifth five oh one,
Dk metcalf Courtland Sutton again always undervalued Xavier Worthy, Davonta Smith.
(14:04):
So Patty, you got Cede Lamb T Higgins, Ted McMillan,
Davanta Smith and Bucky Irving. This is your prototypical hero
RB strategy for.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
You, Yes, sir Win, That race to the flex spots
by getting there after five picks and now should be
able to start a really good wide receiver in the flex.
And you know, like I would have liked to get
Mike Evans, although I would have been kind of overloaded
with two Buccaneers in my first four picks, So not
too heartbroken to get Tedoroa McMillan. Obviously, I'd love to
(14:34):
get him a little later than that, maybe coming back
in the fifth. But you know, Debro's with me on
that we want Tat in our drafts at all costs.
So yeah, and then I just think the Eagles are
going to throw more this year. Like they ran so
pure last year and were leading in so many of
their games that they had run friendly game scripts all season.
(14:54):
I don't know if they're going to be quite as
run friendly all the time this year.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
I do want to quickly apologize for my very unprofessional
background here. My daughters just came home from high school.
And this is the problem with drafting at home.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
You have a lot of Jerry this draft. You've moved down.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
To my eyes, this is not a real I'm not
really in a crappy closet that's over stuff. This is
my backdrop I do this just to let you know,
like I don't I come from like like I'm not
like super loaded and not like one of these guys
who's got like money throw around and doesn't care about
fantasy No, this is I'm and my wife's.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
I've got two teenage daughters. You don't have to explain
anything to me, my friend, this is about as much
space as I have.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
This is it.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
One of the hardest things about fantasy football is not
like being on the clock and making choices. The hardest
thing is finding a couple of hours, like usually in
the evening where no one is bothering and your family
doesn't understand like when you're on.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
The clock, like how much stress this is.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
You're stuck with this team for the rest of the season,
and your family's like, didn't you want you do a
draft and you already do this, and it's like, no,
I have six more leagues, ship, I don't care what
you're eating for dinner, and leave me alone.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
See you get it, Jerry, Jerry is the voice of
the people. Go ahead and make your pick. I don't
want you to get auto picked, but that is the
voice of the people. That's the voice of the man.
Who needs to make time for his fantasy football leagues,
And right.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Now I'm looking at Wattle, Pickens or Connor here in
in my fifth pick. I'm gonna go with Pickens because
I'm too afraid of the quarterback situation in Miami. I'm
so sorry to say that. I don't think it's lack
of talent. It's just I get fearful watching Dolphins, So
I'm staying away from Wattle, although he could be the
wide receiver one there.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Like who knows what's gonna happen with Tyron.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
I know that Deebro likes that pick because he made
a grunting sound when he took him, So I know
for sure Deebro approves that pick. Am I right there?
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (16:51):
I mean he was at the top of my cue,
So if you didn't do it, Jerry, he wasn't making
a pass me.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
There you go. All right, let's recap the rest of
these picks here After George Pickens terrific selection. There especially
one less defensive player to stop people. Dak Prescott's gonna
go throw it for six thousand yards this year the
way this team is going Zay Flowers, Jamison Williams. Then,
of course, Debro stays on brand with R J. Harvey.
His dude some great value there in the fifth round too,
kinda say, I'm shocked he was still there, Jalen Waddle,
(17:18):
James Connor, Rushy Rice Again. I still think it's way
too soon for Rice. I think everybody's got to start
to start to come around to that notion. I'm gonna
go ahead and take a look at the board here,
tight ends available, not super exciting. I already got my
two rbs. I could go another RB. I could also
potentially start to look at the quarterback position, but I
don't think I'm gonna do that. Instead, I'm gonna go
(17:39):
ahead and go with the gut here and gonna go
ahead and take Calvin Ridley, who you know. Last year,
I think people forget had another thousand yard season, but
it was just with Will Levis. I mean, camp board
is a huge upgrade. So I'm looking forward to that
this year. And then I'm gonna go ahead and I'm
gonna push forward here with a guy that I think,
even though like Mechagbuka is really intriguing to me, at
some point I think it gets me. So instead, I'm
(18:00):
gonna reach a little bit for Ricky Piersoll, take him
away from Derek Brown, make him up slow, and I
do believe he's going to be that go to target
in the wide receiver group for nine or so.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I just want to say, this is such a reach,
especially on Fantasy pros, because it wasn't even oh it's
gonna do. It wasn't even Ricky Pearsoll wasn't even on
the on the on the ten player.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I guarantee you Pat wins this draft when every when
it all shows up at the end, He's gonna win
this draft. I can tell you already.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
So think I.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Think sog Mecha, Egbuka, Sam Laporta, then Pat Mahomes, Deebro
just a Carvey. So what's the next pick for you?
Speaker 6 (18:34):
I'm reloading at running back. This is why you can
lean heavier into wide receivers get the premium tied end
because of the volume at the running backs that I
just slammed for the last three for the last three
rounds with Kenneth Walker, R J. Harvey and Tony Pollard.
I mean, come on, guys, like everybody's acting like we
don't know Tajy Spears is gonna be out for the
beginning of the season, and we didn't see this last year.
(18:55):
Tony Palmard has been a value up, been smashing the
entire offseason and he's still here.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
It's he's still around. Tony Pollard solid again, and Tashay
Spears not being there to the start of the season
doesn't give you that impending doom of somebody taking his job.
So after Pollard, Kelsey, Swift, Jerry, you're up on the
clock or here we go.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
I got fifty seconds to do this. I'm looking at you.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Guys are all saying I should be taking Travis Hunter
here at forty three percent, but I'm really I still
have a I have a running back and a wide
receiver slot. I'm afraid I'm gonna miss my running back
target of Caleb Johnson here. And now that I just
said it out loud, one of you guys are gonna
take it. But because I trust Fantasy pros and I
(19:35):
want to get a good grade from the computers after this,
I'm going to be taking Travis Hunter. I also want
to watch the Jaguars this season. I think they're gonna
be a lot of fun to watch. All right, So
there you have it. So this pick is in Travis Hunter. Look,
I think you did a great job here, Jerry. Whenever
you go early tight end, it's tough because sometimes you're
passing on the wide receiver talent. But then you went
early tight end and early QB, that's tough to recover from.
(19:58):
I want to just give you some prop here. I'm
giving you some loves of good because it's your first
time in the show. But I think this is a
really good job here by Jerry taking Evans, Pickens and
Travis Hunter making up ground. Deebro, would you agree that.
I mean, that's about as good as you can get
if you're going early tight end and early QB.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Absolutely, And I've said it for the offseason, like Mike
Kevin should not be being drafted as a wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Two.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
So Jerry making up a ton of ground, which all
three of these picks, and this is not just me
blowing smoke, Like all three of these picks are aiming
all upside if these guys stay healthy, if they hit
there at the top of the ranger outcomes, like Evans
is a wide receiver one, Pickens is a top fifteen
wide receiver. Hunter in that consolidated passing attack, all we
need is for him to play eighty eighty five percent
(20:39):
of the snaps, which can't happen in that offense, and
he is going to crush his adp here. So no,
Jerry made up a ton of ground where it's like
if you're putting yourself in a hole going premium quarterback
and premium tight end.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
But Jerry dug himself out. Man.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
He certainly did. Very impressed Jerry. See you are a
man in seven leagues.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
You are Harry I learned the best.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Let me just say, I don't know if you guys
are being super nice to me because I'm a celebrity.
I was in Jerry maguire whatever. But you did let
Caleb Johnson come come back.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Was going to stick the knife him, but he didn't
do it.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I can't believe Pat didn't, so I don't he's still
on a high from yesterday's trade.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
I think you're treating me with kitt and gloves here,
but I'm going to be taking Caleb Johnson. I thinking, uh,
oh gosh, what's the offensive coordinator whose dad invented Smith?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Arthur Arthur Smith, Arthur Smith. I think he's gonna run
Caleb a lot, and I think he's gonna.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Be the RB White. Don't disagree, my friend. All right,
let's go through Pats Baks here, because after Travis Hunter
went to Jerry, then Isaiah pa check, Oh, Jerry Judy,
David Montgomery, and then Baker Mayfield. At six twelve, Roman
Dunday begins a seventh round, then Chris o'lave Stefon Diggs.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Pat, you better be taking.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Aaron Joey all around you. Pat, you made up your
so you have your hero RB. Right. You took Bucky Irving,
then three straight wide receivers to follow all up with
c D then you went back to back RB again.
I think this is a great example of how to
do that hero RB. Bill. Let's talk about Pacheco and
Jones for you.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
Yeah, I just think Pachecko's back clearly wasn't the same
last year after coming back from a broken leg in
two and a half months, and in what little we
have seen from him in the preseason, I'm seeing the
old Isaiah Pachecko, So feeling good about him in a
powerful offense. And then, uh, you know, I'm a Packer
fan who still thinks Aaron Jones is good and I
know he's going to share with Jordan Mason, but Jordan
(22:30):
Mason doesn't catch passes Aaron Jones does. I think he
still has more value than Mason for that reason. And
I just need to say to Jerry, Jerry the whole
faith and Arthur Smith thing that that's a pretty thin
branch you're going on.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
It's probably something I read on your sign, all right.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Uh So, Caleb Johnson goes to Jerry next, and then
Jacoby Myers at seven oh six, Bo Nicks at seven
o seven, Dak Prescott de bro I thought we had agreement,
we were gonna wait as long as we can for
QBS this year, seventh round. Here you're going for Dak already.
What changed your mind?
Speaker 6 (23:07):
I mean, he's the NFC version of Joe Burrow. Now
with that defense behind him and the two pass catchers,
I mean, they're gonna be top five and passing attempts.
I'll look at him as almost the end of a tier.
I bumped him up in ranks, and I don't think
it's too aggressive, and especially where we see in quarterbacks
like a lot of these guys going off. I didn't
want to miss the QB run. I'm not against it,
(23:27):
but I still think that we're I want to be
very clear about this. We are only one year removed
from him being the QB four in Fantasy points per game,
and that's top five, top five all day.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Tell me about his rushing ability though.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
I mean he ran for over two hundred yards what
was it not last year but the year before, So
I think he can get in that three hundred yard
range again if he's truly healthy this year.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Jery, Well, he.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Hasn't gotten to three hundred since twenty eighteen, but two
forty two and twenty twenty three, and look at that
offensive line is are good, so he might have to
run a little bit, might have to get out of
the pocket.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I mean, help me out here, like the new quarterback
that we should be drafting our rushing quarterbacks and Fantasy
is always changing, you know. I mean remember we always
used to do running backs the first three rounds. Like,
rushing quarterbacks is what we're looking at, which is why
justin fields is you guys are projecting is going to
be a top ten quarterback.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Deebro, Why don't you take that and talk about like
the difference between those guys at the top with the
big rushing ability and then look there's a couple of
these guys like may and Fields going later with rushing ability,
but there's also guys like Dak even Justin Herbert, who,
let's not forget you know, came into the league Justin
Herbert was able to break the rookie passing record then
followed up with a five thousand yard year. I understand
(24:38):
it's a different offense now, but you're adding Keenan Allen
back in. You saw the emergence of lad McConkie, and
what they've been missing is the guy for the yards
after catch, which is what Eckler used to do. That
I think Hampton can bring back to this offense and
pad those stats of Herbert a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
I think you're looking at a lot of guys that
have the rushing upside this year. I mean, we talk
about Nix Prescott, we could talk about where he like
hands in that, but fields when he I'm not telling
anybody that he's a good passer, but when he has
been on the field, he has been legit a locked
in top ten option just because of the rushing and
you can get access to that. I mean, we saw
what Baker Mayfield did, Like there's so many guys in
(25:13):
the NFL that are adding the Russian component to their
games that it's raising the ceiling and the floor of
these guys. And somebody, I mean Brock Party, he ran
for over three fifty So like we're getting access to
that at various points of the draft. And I know
I'm kind of talking the table here, but like I
could have gone with Party.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
After this and still gotten access to that.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
All right, love it? All right? We are halfway through
the draft, which means I want to remind everybody watching
on our Twitch ESPN Fantasy Football Championship ring is up
for grabs. Check it out right here. It's a good
looking ring too. This heavyweight, solid metal ring is built
to turn heads and let your entire league know that
the champ is here. So if you want to enter,
just leave a comment below. On our Twitch streams this
week at twitch dot tv slash Fantasy Pros. That's the
(25:53):
place to be five days a week to get all
of the Twitch information. And as always Twitch subscribers, when
you subscribe to their Amazon Prime for five bucks, you
get rid of those nasty commercials. You also get one
and a half times odds boost of winning this ring.
So justice, so thank you for your support. We're gonna
announce the winner right here next Tuesday on the show
for our content draft. Maybe we can get Jerry to
announce the draft order for our content draft. The Jewelry
(26:17):
go there, you go. That's what we're gonna do, all right.
So I am back up here at the twelve spot.
After uh Dak Prescott will go through these other picks.
Jalen Warren goes, Justin Fields goes. So I'm gonna just
wait on QB and take care of that. I'm gonna
die on this hill, and it's fine if I do.
There's a couple of running backs here, Jordan Mason Travis
ATM that I still think have a lot to offer.
(26:37):
I know Jacorey Krosky Merritt is another one too, But
this is a PPR league. So the first pick I'm
gonna make here is gonna be Matthew Golden when it
comes back, because justice just fight Pathmits Morris, you know,
because you know what, all year, Patt, all year, Pat,
you keep you keep knocking my guy, my favorite guy
at Texas. Last year, the man balled out one of
(26:58):
the best football games forget college, get pro football games period.
Last year and I don't think he gets enough credit
or enough love from you. So I'm gonna go ahead
and I'm gonna take him, and then it becomes witch
running back. There's a couple of guys.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Also also take him because you'll be able to trade
him with Pat for probably.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
You know, but Jerry, you would think that. But he
has been mister negative about Matthew Golden. But he's running
out of wide receivers in the Packers, Like unless Michael
Parsons is gonna go out there and run some routes.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
No offense to Pat, who else is that?
Speaker 1 (27:29):
That's what I'm saying, Jerry, I'm a Romeo Dobbs believer.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
I'll put my hand up, I'll say it. I'll say it.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Looking at the rest of this grouping here again, I'm
gonna throw a dart on this. And if Liam Cohen
is exactly the guy I think he is, then I
don't think it, Thanks Big V. I don't think it's
base sal Tuton. I think it's Travis atn who was
Army three.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
We're gonna get three Travis.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Look what he did with Bucky Irving last year. It's
the pass catching guy that we want. He's playing for
a contract. Jerry right. I think sometimes you know, you
got to follow the money, and on top of that,
sometimes you got to realize, like, just because a guy
had a down year off injury last year, doesn't mean
he can't bounce back from it. And we give all
the love in the world and everything is sunshine and
rainbows and unicorns when it comes to Christian McCaffrey and
(28:17):
guys like that. But what we all hate Travis atn
I think it's crazy, and you're getting such a value
here halfway through the draft. I'm gonna take it. Mason
was the other guy was really thinking about, especially because
Pat had Aaron Jones. But I don't want to be
too mean in one round. So Travis atn Juwan Jennings
Camp's Gataboo another one of my favorites, uh Cooper Cup.
And then Deebro took the other running back that I
(28:38):
was looking at, Jacorey Crosskey Merrit aka Bill Merrit. So
let's talk about Bill here for a second. Deebro, Look,
this feels like just a full blown committee to me.
Why is Jacry Crosskey Merrit the guy that shines above
this for you?
Speaker 6 (28:53):
Well, I've pushed back against people having problem with the
Bill hype because where were we drafting Brian Robertson junior
before this? The touchdown ceiling is definitively there. We talked
about this on Fantasy Draft Court a few days ago,
where it was like Washington Commanders last year were first
in rushing attempts inside the ten yard line. You take
even Jane Daniels volume out of that, they were still
(29:14):
fifth in the NFL last year. So this guy has
eight to ten touchdown upside. I don't see the committee
where everybody talks about everybody's like all the Chris Rodriguez
hype and hope. Now it's like, yeah, because Chris Rodriguez
is involved in this offense last year, he's the reason
why they got rid of Brian Robinson. I have a
hard time believing that. So I'm believing in Bill here.
I believe in the touchdown upside, and Eckler is gonna
(29:35):
have his role in this offense. But also, can we
not talk about Eckler as much as people have faith
in him. Two concussions last year, another year older, and
Deebo Samuel is coming for the short area targets. So
even Eckler's upside in this offense is capped where Bill's
is not. He could score ten to twelve touchdowns this
year in that offense.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Jerry, you're getting some love from the audience here too.
Rock Candy said, Oh hey, it's Jerry. I love sliders
back in the day. And then Jerry gets it. The
constant struggle between family time and fantasy times.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
See, you found your Just leave me alone for the weeks,
get a light family. Jerry for it.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I don't do drugs, I don't choose, I don't like,
I'm not like, I'm not with hookers like I asked
for like a couple of fantasy drafts.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Leave me alone, Jerry.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I'm so glad you I can say whatever I want.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
I'm so glad you're here. I think you're the voice
of the people today. That's what you are. Uh afk
your krusty Merrit Godwin goes, Pittman goes, and then Jerry,
I know you're on the clock. You took Jordan Mason,
excellent pick. There. I'm gonna let you make your pick
and I'll come back to you for the analysis. Pat
you took Zach Charbonnay. Then Jordan Addison went, Joe Mixon
Josh Town Today twelve, Tyrone Tracy at nine oh one,
(30:47):
then nine oh two, Khalil Shakir, JK Dobbins, Pat, you
came back with Drake May. Thanks Pat, so I guess
we're even now. But Pat, you're doing a great job
here of building out this wide receiver room and then
building out the r the depth. Sharbon Ay another guy
that if something happens to Ken Walker, and inevitably it
does go ahead, Pat, talk to me about Zach Charbonay
(31:09):
and then the Drake May selection two.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Yeah, I think Sharbonay is a lot like Jerry's pick
right before of Jordan Mason. I think guys who are
sort of the one be in a backfield that's probably
going to have a lot of success. And I'm excited
about what the Clint Kubiak slash Rick Dennison running scheme
is going to do, especially with getting Gray's Able in
the first round, who already looks like he's going to
(31:33):
be one of the best interior run blocking interior lineman
in the league. And they've got two full backs on
the roster like they want to run the rock and.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Who says, what's out?
Speaker 5 (31:45):
Robbie oots, Yes, they are two hundred and seventy pounds
fall back, so they would have run the ball and
like that scheme has had historical success dating back to
like Denver in the late nineties, so I'm excited about that.
And then Drake May I mean, you know, he's been
a flag plant for me all off season. Joe, I
think he's gonna run for eight hundred yards.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
A music to my ears. Loves and hates to hear it.
Seeing the selection, well, I understand it because the old
line is still a very much work in progress. But
you know, is what it is here. Look, nothing can
be worse than the last couple of years of the
Patriots offense. It's so abysmal, no playmakers and giving him
Travon Henderson. You know, let's let's see if Stephan.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Stephan Diggs looks really sharp to me and Cam from
everything that I've seen, guy looks terrific. So I am
cautiously optimistic about that. Jerry, we restarted the draft here,
you're on the clock. He just took Jordan Mason and
Caleb Johnson, so you've got a pretty stout RB room.
I might have to recount what I said before de
bro Jerry might finish top three here when the grades done,
(32:47):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Good to you.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
A reason why I took Jordan Mason, and this comes
from stuff that I read on Fantasy pros. I have
a feeling that he could be the RB one at
some point in Minneapolis. No offense to Aaron Jones, but
he's a little older, He's got senior in his name.
He could get injured, which is another reason why I
think Charboney is also a great pick.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
We all know and we don't loot for injuries.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
We certainly do not, but we all know that Kenneth
Walker is going to miss some time and Charbone is
going to be scoring some points. I'm faced with a
little bit of an issue speaking of older running backs.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
I'm looking at you.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
The experts are telling me to pick Javonta Williams a
twenty six percent underneath that keyon Coleman. I'm staying away
from all those wide receivers in Buffalo way down. I'm
looking at Braylan Allen, but he's in only five percent,
so I think he'll come to me in the next round.
I'm going to take Javonta Williams, even though I prefer Jaden.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Blue here in Dallas, I'm taking I didn't go wide
receiver there.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
There's a couple other names on the board. I thought,
maybe he goes that route, but again you got brock Bauer.
So it's like having a fourth wide receiver basically a
tight end.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
I just don't want to touch any of those Buffalo
wide receivers. I don't know who's going to be a
wide receiver one there. And after watching Hard Knocks, it
was such a boring station one.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I said that the other day here on Twitch, I said,
I missed the days where it was eight balls of
cone and guys getting arrested and think that was hard
not yes, what have we done here?
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Arrested, people getting cut, people crying. Coach, Coach wants you
to bring your playbook. What's going on? Remember who is
the fantasy icon? Giovanni Bernard riding up in the Honda Odyssey.
Honda Odyssey, got everything you gotten? Come on Hard Knock,
bro let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
It was basically guys getting ice cream and riding horses.
That was basically And I'm just like.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Going around at school, get out of here.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Not happening, not happening at all, all right, let's go
ahead and make some more selections here after Javanti Williams,
Austin Eckler, Christian Kirk, Darnall Mooney, and then actually that's
your pig dey, bro, let's talk about Darnau Mooney in
your selection before we get to the next couple.
Speaker 6 (34:42):
Well, looking at to have built this team so far,
I've got this awesome running back room, the four rbs
that I have right now, and really it was just
kind of okay, wide receiver three is gonna be a hodgepodge.
I'm just kind of filling it on a weekly basis.
So Darnau Mooney he's one of the guys I'm looking at.
But now in the next few rounds, I'm looking at
trying to catch up with wide receiver. So I will
(35:03):
go with the steady target volume of Darnell Mooney and
backing it up with Keenan Allen here with the guy
that I mean we believe in, Justin Herbert and this offense.
Keenan Hammon might be old and boring, but he had
no issues earning targets with the Bears last year and
he should be able to do that at least to
kind of figuring out what my wide receiver three room
looks like.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Don't disagree, all right, Romandre Stevenson at nine oh nine,
Tank Bigsby at nine to ten. Then Brian Robinson I
took Braylan Allen he was never making it back to Jerry. Sorry.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
And then Mark Andrews at ten oh one. So again
I go on and on about Mark Andrews. Patt disagrees.
And if you want to see Fantasy Court, go take
a look at it. Me and that beautiful uh as
they called me Timu Hamilton on the show Big. But
by the way, one of our let me tell you something,
one of our d Jens, you know, like the Djens
league that we're in with a bunch of our listeners.
(35:51):
One of them, immediately after that show changed their name
to TMU Hamilton in our league, and I was like,
well done, well done, all right. So Andrews, I thought
we had care of stuff, all right. So Mark Andrews
goes tight end run happens here? TJ Hawkinson, then Harris
Nausee that is Rashad Why deebro takes Keenan Allen, Jayden
Reed and Evan Ingram, So three tight ends go in
(36:13):
the tenth round, Jerry, you're on the clock for you
don't have to worry about tight end, that's for sure.
You got fifteen seconds.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Look who came back to me? Key on Coleman.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Now I've got a great wide receiver and a great
running back on my bench, and I'm taking.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Pat is a key on guy.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
So I don't think he's too happy about that, Pat,
are you No?
Speaker 5 (36:32):
I would have I would have taken I want it.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
I like that the experts for telling me to take
him at forty two, and I really do whatever is
that top player on on Fantasy pros.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
I just I believe in all of the abilities this guy.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Pat, you're on the clock at ten o nine here
where you're gonna pivot? Now the keyon just got sniped
from you.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
First of all, I want to say, I, for one,
was all in favor of seeing Ed Oliver ride a horsey.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
I'll give you. I was good with that, probably not that.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
You know horseh What about coach putting?
Speaker 3 (37:08):
I mean, look, I know Coach had some skin cancer,
but like put like a half hour of him putting
on something.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm with you, dude.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
It was.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
It was very It was the same flavor as the
ice cream that they were going to get vanilla.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Pat has a pick.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
Here, here's someone interesting. You were always speaking of the Bills.
You were you were You guys were always telling me
to pick Ray Davis. Can you tell me why that was?
And did that have anything to do with James Cook
not signing?
Speaker 5 (37:35):
I mean, I like, I just think he's a good player,
but like he has actually slid a little bit for
me as far as the backup running backs, just because
I think Ty Johnson is not going anywhere and Ty
Johnson actually let all running backs in air yards last year,
like they like playing him on him on third down.
I mean, they just have this this mantra with their
(37:55):
skill guys everyone eats and it's true they play all
three of those guys. So I'm kind of shying away
from Bill's running backs this year just because I think
it's going to be a true three man affair there.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Wow, somebody also, Pat, you have thirty seconds until you pick.
But tell me about Judkins. Is he going to play?
And he snaps this season because he was He's always
there and around the eleventh round and.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
He's he gonna play them in the NFL or in college. Man. Yeah,
at this point, what do you think that.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
That's a good question. I think they're going to sign
him eventually, and I just it's hard to expect him
to do anything the first month, month and a half
of the season after missing all of camp. But then again,
these things can get settled pretty quickly, so this late,
I think he's a decent value.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
I just don't know the details. Did he miss camp completely?
Did he show up? Was he walking around?
Speaker 5 (38:50):
He was there for mini camp. I don't think he
is a training camp at all.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
I love a Browns. I love a brown drown.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
Off my draft board.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I'm more off mine too.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
I don't think he contributes to this year. Keyon Coleman
goes to Jerry, then Tyler Warren to Pat. Great value there,
David and Joku, Taji Spears, Marvin Mims, and then eleventh
round starts Tucker Kraft. Tight ends are flying here in
the last round, so everybody round ten, that's when you
get your tight ends. Brandon ayuk Quin, Shawn Judkins than
Luther Burden. So Pat talk about Warren and Burden for me,
(39:23):
while Jerry makes his pick.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
I'm just getting more and more excited about Warren, who
was such a weapon at Penn State last year, and
everyone has spoken so highly of the training camp he
has had and the sort of player he has. He
I believe in his first two preseason game played like
all but one snap with the starters, Like he is
not going to come off the field. And this is
(39:45):
a guy who had eight touchdown catches, four touchdown runs,
and a touchdown pass last year at Penn State. Like
he can do it in a variety of ways, and
he's just a monster after the catch. Like I'm getting
really excited about him, and that's the reason I have
no interest in Josh Downs. Like I think he is
going to just steal a large percentage of Josh Down's
targets this year.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
And look at you, Jerry. He got the entire Dallas backfield,
Javonte Williams and Jayden Bluesee. You had your cake and
he ate it too, Jerry. At the end of the day,
you know, I.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Got to tell you Rashid Shaheed was up there, and
what would the quarterback situation at the Saints. I can't
draft any Saints. I'm so sorry. Saints fans and to me,
I look for I look for rookies with an upside.
You know, he could be the RB one down there.
You just don't know, so I like to I'm a gambler.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
I do produe. So I took Jayden Blue.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
I got to get you on the Betting Pro Show.
Then that's what I really got to get you next.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Oh I love it. I love Betting pros too. I
love uh.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
You got to keep up with it though. Man, your
lines are always changing. It's really tricky.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Yeah, that's that's why we do it. Do you get
you the best line you cost me? Kenn at VP,
all right, Tootin goes next, then Nick Chubb, deebro. He
took Jaden Higgins. Let's talk about when you think the
Jayden Higgins rocket ship takes off this season.
Speaker 6 (40:54):
I mean it's gonna be about week four, week five.
I'm not worried about Exavier Hutchinson. I liked him as
a prospect. The other part about it is, I know, Joe,
You're sitting at the turn and I wasn't going to
let you get him because I knew he wasn't probably
going to come back to me.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
Am I lie, tell me what.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
He was under consideration. He was, he was in the queue.
He wasn't at the top, but he was in the ques.
He's definitely a cue there.
Speaker 6 (41:15):
No for my my next election. I was just going
to say, we've been talking about eight balls so much.
I mean, I'm an og co kid, so I gotta break.
I gotta get Jayleen Cocher here, wha wha come on,
one day at.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
A time, one day at a time.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
There you go.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
He means that he just for the audience watching. He
was the guy last year telling us about Jalen Cocher
in the NFL draft because he was a he was
a small time wide receiver from a small university, and
he called himself a quote unquote coke.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
D that's the fan.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
He Bro's only real addiction is energy drinks. Everybody knows that.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Okay, all right, No, I just wanted to make sure
we weren't ruined him.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
No, No, the energy drinks, well, I mean he might
be it's an absurd amount of energy drinks that he drinks.
So yeah, I don't know if that much caffeine is needed.
Coleston Lovelin goes next. Then Julia McLoughlin, Rareshid Shaheed off
the board. Then I took Cedria Tillman at eleven twelve. Pat,
I told you Deontay Johnson wasn't gonna make that team, baby,
I knew it. Di Mario Douglas at twelve oh one. Again,
(42:13):
I want the guy playing this lot role in the
Josh mc daniels offense, just as simple as that. And
maybe who knows, maybe we'll see Fton Chisham at some point,
but not this year. Tyler Aljira goes next, Trey Benson,
Jake Ferguson, Jalen Coker to deebro Jerome Ford, Ali Gordon,
who was also in my cue, so hoping I would
get him in that next round, and I did not. Jerry,
you're up on the clock here, twenty seconds.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
What do you have?
Speaker 3 (42:33):
So I only have four wide receivers, so the computers
are really telling me to pick a wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Here.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
I'm looking at Rashad Kyle Williams from New England and
Trey Harris from the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
I'm gonna go with Rashad, although he's probably just gonna
sit away well.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
Play on the Bie weeks. Hopefully Josh Palmer was out
there too, which is another one I think is intriguing
from that flyer standpoint, Pat, you're up here with the
next pick at twelve oh nine. You took Caleb Williams.
You took two qbs. Why gotta do that?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Pat?
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Why you gotta keep drawing on the board of QB
so much? If you believe in Drake May, why are
you taking Caleb Williams on me?
Speaker 5 (43:06):
Just in case? And and when the schedule turns a
little harder later on, I might want to pivot a
week or two. And you know, Caleb has high upside
and I like getting him as more of a second
quarterback since I'm just I'm not sure if it's gonna
work with him and Benji either, Like Ben Johnson wants
his quarterbacks to play on time, get the ball out quickly,
(43:27):
and Caleb is kind of a wild stallion who likes
to improvise and do things on the run. So we'll
see if it works. But if it could work, it
could work splendidly.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Yeah, it's it's a really funny.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
I mean, you think of Jared Goff and like Jared
Goff have been to a Super Bowl when Ben Johnson
got a piece of him, you know, it's like when like,
how much fixing did Jared Goff need compared to how
much fixing Caleb needs.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
It's gonna be so interesting the seria.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
So Caleb goes next. Then after Caleb you had Ray Davis,
Dylan Samson. Actually I thought for sure, Pat, that's where
you were going. Let's say, and I would have if
there was a poll up of who Pat's next pick
was going to be, it was gonna be Samson, because
I just I felt I had enough RBS. But I
was shocked he didn't go there. Rico Dawell, Isaac Corndo,
Trey Harris, zach Ertz, and then Adam Felen back to
(44:14):
the Minnesota Vikings. Pat look at that, so at least
in the first couple of weeks, probably has some fantasy value.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
I mean he was like, what wide receiver thirteen last
year for a stretch.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Yeah, solid, He finished the last three weeks of the
last four weeks, let me tell you five catches in
all four of the last games there, and then you're right.
He did have a stretch here at the end where
he went off. He had one, two, three, four touchdowns
in his last six games.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
And I'm allowed to make this joke as the oldest
man on this on this twitch thing.
Speaker 5 (44:45):
I don't know about that old man.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Old man.
Speaker 5 (44:49):
Yeah, he's he's really young, man aging well and might
have like a little bit of an opening early in
the season while Addison is suspended, and then he's kind
of a nice handcuff type wide receiver. Case anyw and
gets hurt.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
All right, So Adam Thieling off the board, Jerry twenty
seconds what he got for us?
Speaker 3 (45:04):
You know what, I'm the computers here are telling me
to take Kyle Williams from New England. This is the
first time I'm really hearing about him, and I've done
a lot of mock drafts on your site. Kyler's coming
up second with twenty two percent. You guys are all
telling me I'm gonna take Kyler and just put him
on my bench.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
I know he I think he was the QB twelve
last season, so I don't know. Maybe I could trade
him if somebody's Cuban.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
Right after Kyler Murray goes, look, just take value. Right,
something happens to Daniels too. You have a very good backup,
a top ten potential backup too, Dallas. There's Kyle Good,
Dallas Goddard, Dalton, Kincaid goes, and then Debro thirteen oh eight,
Brock Purty, Marquise Hollywood Brown, John Husmith, Xavier Lagette, and
then I'm up for two picks here. Oh my goodness,
(45:48):
so much value still on this board. As a part
of it wants to take Palmer, but instead I'm gonna
go ahead and I'm just going to play quarterback roulette here.
I'm gonna play matchups every week. I'm gonna take Herbert,
I'm gonna take some guy named Jared Goff who's got
a lot of weapons too. So you can wait to
the last couple of rounds and get your qbs and
you'll be okay. Boys and girls, don't worry. Uncle Joey's
(46:08):
got you. Kyle Pitts finally off the board, as Jerry
said at fourteen oh two, and then Jordan Love goes next,
c J. Stroud, Debro, You took pshad Smith. You've been
doing that a lot with your last picks. Why let's
talk about.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
It because he's got upside, man.
Speaker 6 (46:21):
I mean you look at this backfield and how they've
paired it down, like I mean, Isaiah Pacheco, I do
not think is going to be a bell cow in
this backfield. We already saw Bershard Smith getting run with
the first team in week three of the preseason. I
think he's got the Jared McKinnon roll locked up and
if Pachecko, who runs hard and injuries come with that,
he could be their workhorse at some point this season.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Here you go, next pick up here is after preshod Smith,
Kyle Williams, Kyle Mnong guy the Kyle's go back to back.
Then Jerry gets Josh Palmer, a very nice pick there
at the end. And I'm sorry the draft just ended. Pat,
who was your last selection year before we call things out?
Chris Rodriguez? Excellent last pick too.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Okay, well, Pat, you you can pick up.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
All right? The results are in minus for me. Let's
take a look where the guys finished here at the end.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
Of the day.
Speaker 1 (47:16):
Let's do the analysis I called it out. Well, look
at this path, Fitz Morris one, I said, Jerry, but
the top five. Look at that Pat and Jerry showing
you how to do it. And what's so great about
this is they showed you, which I gotta tell you, Jerry.
And again I'm not blowing sunshine.
Speaker 4 (47:32):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
I'm not blowing smoke. It's really tough to make tight
end early and QB early work. I think you laid
out the blueprint for people here. It's a really good roster.
Pat was one.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
I was three deep.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Bra, I don't see you. Where are you all the
way down at seven? That's Jerry? What do you think
about here in this finish? You think it was kind
to you? The Fantasy pros uh draft grade here they
gave you.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
I think you guys, let me get Caleb Johnson. I
think you guys let him slide. Were being nice to
the celebrity guests that was here. I'm not sure I
would have gotten him when I gotten him. You know,
I got to say. It was just doing all of
the Draft Wizard, Fantasy Pros.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
Mock drafts.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
It kept showing me take Brock in the second if
he comes to you, and take Jayden if he comes
to you in the third.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
And it's funny.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
A few weeks ago Jaden was actually dropping down to
the fourth and I wasn't able to get him. And
you don't want to reach for someone in the third round,
especially if you're giving up like a Chase Brown or something.
I mean this is like, this is where you lose seasons.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
You know. So I was really pleased with my drafts.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
I have Jayden in a number of my leagues, and
I really do think he is going to have a
record breaking season, even though he's the third quarterback going off.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
Well, let's say look at your team here, because I
think it was I said, an outstanding blueprint for those
people who are trying to say, Okay, how do I
make it work if I want to go early in
those positions, because sometimes I have to just price and
for us. Brock Bauers makes it back to you there.
He was going at the turn two weeks ago. Now
he's not. It's crazy, it's ridiculous. People are gonna regret it.
Jerry's got Jayden Daniels, a QB, Jamiir Gibbs at running
(49:10):
back along with Caleb Johnson, the wide receivers, Mike Evans,
George Pickens, Travis Hunter, brock Bauers at tight end, Jordan
Mason at the flex. He's got the entire Cowboys backfield
with Javonte and Jayden Blue. He's got Kyler Murray, key
on Coleman, Josh Palmer, so one of those guys hopefully, Jerry,
you're right about for Shan Bateman. So if you had
to put money on it, Jerry is it. Coleman is
a Palmer who becomes the guy in Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
I guess Coleman just based on draft position right now.
You know, also I live in Los Angeles. I went
to Chargers games. Palmer was, you know.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
A little shaky as a receiver.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
You really couldn't consistently start him, and he had his
opportunities and his chances.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
So I would say, key on, Coleman will probably be
coming right.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Speaking of coming out of head, Pat fitz Morris, the
top dog here in today's draft is as predicted. I
had a feeling as this draft was going, I was like,
Pat's really crushing this hero RB build, Drake may A QB.
Bucky Irving is the big hero running back. Then Isaiah
Pacheco was the two Lamb Higgins McMillan and Tyler Warren,
along with DeVonta Smith as the flex Aaron Jones, Zach Charbonet,
(50:15):
Caleb Williams and Adam Thee and Luther Bird and Chris Rodriguez. Pat,
how'd you feel about this roster when you step away
from it?
Speaker 5 (50:22):
You know pretty good about the first ten rounds. I
have not finished top three in a mock draft episode
all off season, so good to go out with a
bang and yeah, thank you. I don't know if I
quite It's just I love how.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
Jerry teaching back down there.
Speaker 5 (50:40):
Don't worry, Jerry, I'm not getting a big yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
I don't know if I stuck it with the I
don't know.
Speaker 5 (50:45):
If I stuck the landing in the end game. I mean,
it didn't feel great getting three Bears in the vikings
and with my last four picks, But you know, other
than that, I thought for ten rounds things fell pretty well.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
All right, de Bro.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
You can't draft with your heart. You gotta draft through
your head.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
If Fantasy Pros has taught us anything, you draft through
your head, not a Deebro.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
Bit of both. I think drafting with your head and
your heart. I always feel like Dak Prescott, a QB.
Ken Walker, R. J. Harvey. This is like the quick
essential Debro bill and just putting us out there. I
mean like these are like de Bros. Guys quote unquote
Molik Neighbors, AJ Brown, Keenan Allen, great double tap of
the wide receivers. I don't know about Keenan as my three.
I like Amore as a four, but we'll see how
(51:26):
he holds up George Kittle at the tight end. That's
probably why you have that issue there, Tony Poward, Brock
perty Ja, Cory Krossky Merit, Darnell Mooney, Jaden Higgins, Jalen Cocher,
and Brishard Smith. All right, Debro, how do you feel
about this team here? As you're looking back at well, it's.
Speaker 6 (51:40):
A Steele Jerry's quote. It's just a mock boys. So
I mean, I would easily be winning this league. I mean,
I love this team. I think I got ding because
the roulette wheel that I'm spinning with wide receiver three
in projections and stuff and honestly just shooting for upside
and one of those guys emerging there.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
So I like the team.
Speaker 6 (51:57):
I feel especially like getting Kittle and the quarterback that
I got.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
I feel like it's solid. And of course I gave
myself a ninety five.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
So let me tell you what's really gonna be exciting
is when Jamis starts around week three or week four.
Who Malik is gonna have a forty point fifty point game?
I can't wait, but you honestly need to wait for
Jamis to start because I just a big reason why
I can't draft Malik right now is I can't for
(52:24):
three weeks watch Russell throwing to him. I'm so sorry,
giants man.
Speaker 1 (52:27):
Yeah, I've been think it's going to be Jackson Dart.
Speaker 6 (52:30):
That's what I've been lower on Mileak than consensus, only
because I am worried about the russ quarterbacking kind of
really hurting him because it's funny. Everybody like oohs and
ahs over all the clips from camp, but it's like
it's all moonballs. Do y'all think he's throwing forty moon
balls a week? But I mean for this, for this exercise,
I haven't drafted a lot of maleak.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
I wanted to go that direction this one.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
All right, let's take a look at the Joey p roster. Here,
Justin Herbert at quarterback, along with Amar and Hampton, Trevon Henderson,
then Drake London, Brian Thomas Junior, Calvin Ridley, Mark Andrews,
Ricky Piersall on the bench, Travis atn, Matthew Golden, Jared
gov Braylen Allen, Mario Douglas and Cedric Tillman. Jerry, since
you're new around here, I'll let you break this down.
What do you think of this roster? And you can
(53:12):
shoot it straight to me. You know, I gotta say
I thought you reached for pearsall. Derek might disagree.
Speaker 3 (53:20):
I think I think he would have been around. Listen,
I and I do believe. Again, I get all my
research from your site, so you can blame yourselves. I
do believe he is going to be the wide receiver
one on a team that has a great quarterback and
he and he's going to get the ball, so I
think he should be valued there. I just think you
(53:40):
could have gotten him around later. So I thought you
reached a little bit based on again on all of
your percentages and when I should be picking people.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
But you're, uh, you're taking a gamble, and that's what this.
I mean.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
We're all gambler doing. We're all look, man, you beat
me in the draft here, so obviously you know what
you're talking about. Jerry finner second, Pat was number one one,
I was three. So it's nice that the three of
us finished here.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
And also I should say, I mean, we hate gun
violence here at Fantasy Pros, but I mean, it's pretty
cool his recovery and.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Yeah, that him and Brian Robinson Junior. What a strange
locker room. It's like the uh, it's like the living
meme of the commando arms coming together at the same time, right,
I never thought of that. Strange What are the chances
of that happening? And then the guys ending up on
the same team two years later? Very bizarre stuff there.
But Jerry, I gotta tell you, man, this is a
(54:30):
tremendous fun for us to do this. And if anybody
has a question about you know, like, there's very few
things I feel like in this world that actually can
bring us all together have a good time, get us passionate,
give us an hour whatever of our lives to kind
of just zone out and hang out, have a good time.
It's football, It's fancy football. And you've proved that you
are an absolute degenerate just like us, and I love
(54:52):
that about you. That's so great and I hope you
do this with us next year too. Let me tell
you I am I am such a degenerate.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
I had an Yeah.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
Now, the league I hate the most. The league I
hate the most. I hate these people.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
I don't even care if they hear me saying this,
I hate them. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
And as a joke, they pick kickers like every first
like pick that they have. It's so annoying. I'm like people,
I have a family, I'm trying to stay married. It
took four hours to do it, but it was I
do have to say fantasy pros and betting pros, which
I love, and I'm giving you enough plugs here. It was, uh, like,
how can we use fantasy pros to our benefit in
(55:32):
these stupid useless.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
Auction drafts, like you give us the suggested amount?
Speaker 1 (55:37):
But well, everally when it comes to that, I know
Pat and I are a bunch of these two that
you know, get your guys, be flexible, be prepared. That's
what you can do, like the values for and I
wish we could do more of that kind of content here,
but it's tough because, like you said, those drafts take
a long time. But the problem is it's like, you know,
my advice to everybody is get the guys that move
(55:57):
the needle and then find the guys that are going
at a discann and if you do those things consistently,
you will beat the other teams in those kind of
formats because people will overspend on guys that don't move
the needle and then they don't have enough to fill
out the rest of the roster.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
Yeah, you know, I mean the thing. I want to
try and have a balanced team when I do an
auction draft. So I take the I take the d ks.
I look for the the o mar not the number
one guys, the number two guys. You know what I'm saying.
I look for the the Davanta's the people. You can
sort of get a balanced sort of team. But I
haven't won this hot Well, Jerry, next year.
Speaker 1 (56:32):
You call me up. Well, you know, we'll plug in there.
We'll get you. We owe you one now, so we'll
we'll hang out with you. We'll do this and we'll
give you, you know time.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
All right, everybody, Hey Pat.
Speaker 1 (56:43):
Jerry, besides a million football drafts, Hey Romeo, Jerry, besides
a million football drafts, what else you got going on?
I know you're all with the barstool guys. You're hanging
out all over the place, like, what what's Jerry O'Connell's
September like? Besides watching all the football games?
Speaker 2 (56:57):
Nothing? This is it.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
It's just saying that I have nothing to.
Speaker 2 (57:01):
Follow me on Yelp. I leave Yelp reviews for that.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Hey, that's good. That's that's doing the Lord's work right there,
making sure you steer people away from pad restaurants. I
think that's very important. Jerry O'Connell, everybody joining us here
on the show today again, shout out to him. Go
follow him on social media, mister Jerry OC on the
Twitter regime and everything else. Jerry, super fun to hang
out with you today.
Speaker 3 (57:24):
Man.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
We appreciate you being here and of course being so
kind to us.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Hey, by the way, I'm I didn't get a discount code.
I pay for all these things.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
I pay for fantasy and for Fantasy Pros and for
betting Pros.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
Invite me to one of the betting pro shows.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
Well, I host those shows. So guess what, Jerry, I'm
gonna be bothering you next. So Erry O Kyle hanging
out with us. That'll do it for us. But the
story of the game goes on for Jerry, Derek, and Pat.
I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids.
