Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, everybody. Welcome into the Fantasy Pros Football Podcast. I'm
Ryan Warmley, joined as I am every Thursday morning by
Pat fitz Morris and by Jake Seeley from The Athletic Guys.
This is our Thursday show. We talked some starts, we
talked some sits, We talked some waiver ads this week
that we didn't have last week. I will also do
our touchdown calls at the end of the show. Quick
reminder for everybody that all of our twenty twenty five

(00:22):
consensus rankings and tears can be found at fantasypros dot com.
Slash rankings fits well as we are here. You know,
a week into the season. What were some of your
early takeaways from Week one? How do you feel about
all the teams you drafted? Where's your head at one weekend?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, I mean it was kind of a mixed bag
of course in week one, luckily not too many injuries,
although we uh, you know, are dealing with the news
that Brock Perdy is gonna miss maybe a month or so. Yeah,
I mean, it was it was an interesting week, Like
Week one, the unpredictability.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Who would have thought that.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
In the early window the only game to go over
the Vegas total would be Steelers Jets and it would
go flying over the total and almost get there by halftime.
Maybe that's the kind of unpredictable season we're in four this.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Year, Jake, what's your headspace like? One weekend?

Speaker 4 (01:12):
It's one week relaxed, basically, to use that old cliche,
I was actually just looking at our good friend the
Welsh and I actually sent him a text and say
congratulations and going viral and I'm looking right now and
now he has almost.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Nearly a million views for that.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Christian McCaffrey sucking the life force out of George kittle
Brock Berdy, Brandon Ayuk and Juwan Jennings just to stay
healthy this year. Kudos to him for that, Like definitely
was the tweet of the week. But it's sad for them.
But again, for everybody out there, don't overreact.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
It's week one. I actually know what I will. We'll
pause here for a second.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I'm going to take the floor from you worm, if
that's okay. For everybody that tuned in at the beginning
of August and the end of July and never since
on these shows we were doing together and said that
I'm pulling back, pulling back, pulling back, pulling back, pulling back.
On Kenneth Walker being the bell cow. You guys know
I said that. How many times did I say it
to you guys? When I was like, you have to
be on the field to be a bell cow. Please

(02:04):
tune into the entire story. I moved them all the
way down to RB eighteen. Please come for me. If
you drafted early August, I suffered the same pain. I
feel the pain of having them as my anchor running
back where I went three wide receivers to start. So
I understand that. But at the same time, there was
additional information. So stay tuned. You can come for me,
but also come for me within the right time.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
As all I'm saying, don't capitulate on this, Jake, Like
we don't. We'll talk more about this during the show,
I'm sure, But like I don't think. I don't think
you need to capitulate on Kenneth Walker just yet.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
He will be coming up later in the episode. The
way this episode is going to work for those who
are just tuning in for the first time this week,
We've got a couple different segments for you. We're going
to talk about some of the popular waiver ads this weekend.
If these are guys that we are going to be
considering starting right off the bat, or if they're more
stashes for the long term, We're gonna plan our flag
on some players, guys that we just really are convicted
in for this week. And then of course we've got

(02:54):
some start sit player debates. We've got some larger ones
at running back and receiver than some more rapid fire
our quick start sit decisions at every position including flex
later on in the show, and we'll of course wrap
things up as I mentioned before, with our touchdown Calls contest,
where we predict a touchdown for each week.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
This week one.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
I well, Harrison hit. He was the only one. I
gonor right, No Connor O Connor. We had Connor, So
I don't know the ye last week. I know mine
didn't hit, which is what I'm really thinking about. Oh,
I was just talking about, Yeah, well you guys could
do is Well, let's let's see how you guys do
when you have to pick the tight ends. Okay, that's all.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
I know.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
You gave yourself a really bad draw out of the gate.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
On that one.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, that was that was a tough start. But I'm
not on tight end this week, so we'll get to
that at the end of the show. Let's start off
with are we starting or sitting some of these popular
waiver ads from this week? And the reason we included
this segment we started doing it last year is because
it's it's very interesting. Like a lot of the times,
everybody gets all excited about Okay, let's go, you know,
spend all our fab and our waiver priority and get

(03:57):
whoever the hot names are of the week, but then
you are forced with a question of him I starting
this over the guy I was already starting in this
spot unless you had an injury that makes it clear,
or is this somebody that is now on my bench
kind of just on the team moving forward. So I
have four names in here. It'll be about three or
four each week, just kind of the most popular guys.
And this is through our Saints League data on Fantasy
pros is where I'm drawing who these names are that

(04:19):
are the most popular ads of the week. I'll start
with Quentin Johnston, who was number one on that list, Jake,
are you starting him or sitting him? Here? In week two?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
I'm starting him if I need to shoot for ceiling.
The encouraging part was that he was out there more
than Keenan Allen, and that Keenan Allen was primarily the
slot and three wide option. That being said, Keenan Allen
still right neck and neck with him and targets, with
the fact that he had a higher target share while
on the field than Quentin Johnston overall, because Justin Herbert still.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Looks for him.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
The good news the end zone and red zone targets.
We're going to Quinton Johnston. We know the big playability.
I'm definitely buying in that it might hit. This was
a first round draft talent, and I've said this before.
I don't know where Fitz falls on this one, but
I thought it was weird that Quinton Johnston when he
was drafted, everyone said, you need patience, he needs development.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
He's a raw prospect. And after year one we got
what we expected and people are like, well, he sucks.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
And now I understand year two, the drops became more
of an issue and we're magnified by some island games
and big play opportunities, but it still it's not a
shock for somebody to take three years. We used to
be playing this five, six, seven years ago as in
year three breakout. Year three breakout was the thing at
wide receiver, and I present all to say it is
like I am starting him but still no more as
a wide receiver four, just because I don't think he's

(05:36):
definitively that far ahead of Key than Allen, despite the
fact that he was at the three wide sets, because
they are running more three wide than we probably expected
from this offense. So I have him in similar ranges,
Keenan Allen would be the floor. Quinton Johnson would be
the upside. I just don't think you have to slam
him in your lineup this early just yet.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Fits What do you think I've.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Got him ranked wide receiver forty four. I think Quentin
Johnston is I hate him line.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I have him forty three.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I mean, like, so in a league where you have
to start three receivers or where you have to start
maybe two or three flex guys, like I think you're
probably starting him. But to Jake's point, you know, like
Quentin Johnston, he always had that size speed combination and
he is just a freight train with the ball in
his hands. But like if he's actually learned to catch,

(06:26):
and he looked pretty good catching the ball against the Chiefs.
This is like happy Gilmour learning how to pot.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
How about Harold Fannin Junior? Fits you and I talked
about him a lot on the Dynasty Show throughout the
last several months. Now Here in his first NFL's you
know game has seven catches in week one. We know
that Joe Flacco does like tight ends for his honies
as there in Cleveland, but here in week two, fits,
are you starting Fannin?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Well, I think he's probably a start for a lot
of the people who picked him up, since I'm guessing
a lot of those people were replacing either George Kittle
or Evan Ingram or maybe Dallas Goddard, who's questionable for
this week. But like if you just picked him up
as kind of a luxury guy but behind someone like
Tucker Craft or Tyler Warren, obviously not. And you know,

(07:12):
as excited as I am about Fannin, some of his
Week one success may have been opponent related. The Bengals
were really beaten up by tight ends last year. And
you know, then Fannin and David Nijok, who combined for
ten catches and one hundred yards against the Bengals last week.
So for this week, I mean, I think I'd actually
rather play Brenton Strange of the Jaguars because of the

(07:34):
Jaguars are going up against the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Haryld Fannin junior is tight end seventeen. Jake where do
you have him? Ranked?

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Sixteen? Just one spot?

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I completely agree with fits And you know, I kind
of pushed back in my ranks cal him at the
Athletic and I said, you know, he had sixty four
point six percent of the routes. That's cool, that's actually
half decent for a tight end. But Isaiah Likely is
the comparison I drew. We did this with Isaiah Likely
last year, and Isaiah Likely top that mark six times
last year. Two of those were his double digit games.

(08:04):
The other games where he didn't also had two double
digit games. I think Fannin and Likely are a good parallel.
Is there the more Athletic arguably the higher ceiling on
both of their teams tight end options. Just when you
run two tight ends, it's very hard to get value
from one let alone.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Too.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Now, if they keep phasing away from Djoku because he's
a free agent, and or even in Joko gets hurt,
cool I'm just with Fits on this one. Like Strange,
he's in that conversation. I do have fand and over
got it because he's banged up. I have him over
Evan Ingram, who, by the way, split with a third
tight end and Lucas Kroll to give you that headache. Good,
thank you for that, Broncos. But it's just the fact

(08:42):
of the volume of being on the field. So it's
tight end if you want to shoot for the upside.
But I'm with Fits. I'm not benching Kraft for him.
I would play Juwan Johnson over him. I think there's
just a few that feel a little bit safer, but
the ceilings there because he's a tight end.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Just to extend the fan and likely comparison two guys
who burned up a lot of Week two fab money in.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Each of the last two years for sure. Kaishaon Booty
very popular waiver at kind of coming back from the
dead in terms of his fantasy value here with Drake
May Jake, what do you think about Kayshon Booty as
a potential start in a deeper league obviously for this week.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, I grabbed him in a few of my leagues,
but it's a grab and weight in my opinion, mostly
because so my biggest concern for the Patriots coming out
of Week one was the fact that Douglas was only
out there about sixty percent of the routes, despite the
fact Stephan Diggs wasn't fully integrated. Stephan Diggs wasn't even
out there for fifty percent, and yet Diggs got his targets.
Douglas didn't see that boost from last year. It was Booty,

(09:41):
which is cool.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
I this is.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Somebody that, before he got hurt in college, was thought
of as a potential Day one at least a Day
two prospect, a wide receiver, and he even echoed to
that himself, So I know the appeal. I just have
a little hesitation for May in general. And then also,
is Digs going to see twenty thirty more percent of
the routes this week?

Speaker 5 (10:02):
And then if so, just how does that effect Booty?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Who Hunter Henry just keeps getting involved, and of course
the passing game of the backfield, so it's kind of
a does the volume carry over? If you want to
play him. I'm not gonna hate you for it. I
would just be a little bit cautious about thinking you're
gonna get that every single week until we see what
the full offense looks.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Like fits In ECR, Booty is wide receiver forty or
see me fifty four, Douglas is up at wid is
your fifty two digs? Is that wide deceiver forty one?
Just for reference? Are you starting or sitting Kaishan?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think I'm sitting him this week. Nice depth piece
for sure, but no no teams on buys. And you know,
the injuries haven't really gotten cranked up yet, although they're
like a dozen guys with shoulder injuries a wide receiver
for some reason. That's the new in vogue injury of
twenty twenty five. But I don't think you're starting Booty
this week.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah, that one feels kind of easy. This other one
might feel easy, depending on you know where you're looking
in the rankings. Marky's Hollywood Brown is at wide receiver
thirty one in ECR. Jake, he is the fourth most
added player this week. I wanted to throw him in here, like,
obviously there's real runway here for him to get a
ton of targets. Is that enough for you to be
starting him this week?

Speaker 3 (11:06):
That's funny?

Speaker 5 (11:07):
I have him right at thirty one.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
The matchups a little bit concerning, but at the same time,
the volume is gonna offset it. Like it's just gonna
be volume, volume volume. I mean, we're talking about Juju, Smith,
Schuster and all these other options. We still don't have
royals out there, you know. And if Travis Kelcey in
that game where we saw Xavier Worthy get hurt, which,
by the way, thanks a lot Travis Kelsey.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
I don't know if that was a hit, by the way,
because I don't know if you saw that.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Taylor Swift was talking up that she likes Xavier Worthy,
so maybe Kelsey went out with the hit in week
one to take him out. But whatever it might be,
I think the volume is gonna all set it. The
problem is the A dot. We're gonna need ten targets.
I'm not gonna give him sixteen again, but we're gonna
need ten to probably get wide receiver two value. But
that's okay because he kind of lives in that world.
But that's why he's thirty one and not twenty one

(11:50):
or even higher, because that A dot is just going
to stay so short for him.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Let's go to sorry Fits, I forgot.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Yeah, Fits chime in there.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
He was ready to go, oh, well, it's my fault
fits what you got on for half well, Jake covered
it so thoroughly you didn't really need to grow to me.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
I totally agree with Jake.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
I mean, I guess the only reason why you wouldn't
start him would be if Xavier Worthy we're somehow able
to play, because you know, got Andy Reid calling him
day to day, you know, apparently planning to put him
in a suit of armor or something and let him
go out there. But yeah, I don't think he's playing.
So I think you are starting, Hollywood.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
All right, Now, let's now go to our plant your
Flag segment. If it's I'll start with you to make
it up to you. Which player are you again? This
is just the guy that you really feel strong spec.
It doesn't have to be like your number one ranked
player obviously, but the guy that you are just really
interested in and convicted in about starting this week? Who's
your plant your flag player?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Jamison Williams.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Do not be discouraged by his four catches for twenty
three yards last week. I think JMO goes off this
week against a Bears defense likely to be without its
best cornerback, Jalen Johnson and you know, our colleague Andrew
Erickson refers to Ford Field as.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
The cores field of the NFL.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
It's a place where we offenseee offensive pyrotechnics. We certainly
did not see offensive pirate technics from the Lions in Green.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Bay last week.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
But this is a get right spot for Detroit against Chicago.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Jamison Williams Fits is actually two spots behind Marquise Brown
in ECR for this week. I assume because he had
this conviction on him, you would start Jamison absolutely. Okay, Jake,
what do you think about Williams? Real quick?

Speaker 5 (13:26):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
I actually think this is a great bounce back spot.
You look at the fact that I think we talked
about it last year. I don't remember seventeen podcasts.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
Somewhere I talked about it.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I said that Jared Goff's outdoorness or whatever you want
to call it, making that a word, it was a
little bit overinflated on what really happens. He's not that
bad outdoors, and we actually saw late in December, by
the way, two outdoor games, including oh what Fits just
brought up in Chicago where he had really good games,
but the one place he struggled no matter what time
of the year, September being a couple of those games,

(13:55):
something about playing in Green Bay and part of it
is Green Bay defense, but he just struggles in general.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
And also, let's not look past that.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
I go back to Eli Manning when they changed offensive
coordinators like seven eight years into his career and everybody's like, hey,
you need to wait for maybe six games before he
gets really comfortable with the new offense. And he echoed
that sentiment. And I don't think Morton overhauled the offense,
but there were changes. There were more changes than he
led on in week one. So I'm giving Golf a
little bit of a pass too, is as he's getting

(14:25):
acclimated to this. So I'm going to bounce back spot
with him. I have him clearly ahead of Markus Brown.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Jake, I'll stick with you. Who's your plant, your flag player.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
I'm going Jordan Mason if you need a running back.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
So the big thing that I noticed, and we hopefully
a lot of people saw this because the Island game
that it was, but they were behind most of that game,
and yet Jordan Mason was on the field for most
of that game as the lead runner. Sixteen rush attempts
to eight for Aaron Jones. And I know we've talked
about this before that this could be a backfield split,
and Aaron Jones in the passing game makes him valuable.

(14:57):
And there was a little bit of hesitation on Jordan Mason.
But if if they're going to roll out, was just
essentially the Harris Jalen Warren Steelers backfield, and that's kind
of how they're going to treat it. I think you
can start Jordan Mason in a game that we actually
expect them to potentially be contended, if not with the
lead earlier than they were against the Bears. And in
that case, if Jordan Mason has another fifteen to twenty touches,

(15:19):
put them in your Week two lineup for those that
need running back.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Out Fitz, Jordan Mason is RB thirty one in ECR. That,
by way, this is half PPR scoring whenever I'm referencing
ECR typically unless I specifically say otherwise, Jordan Mason RB
thirty one. Aaron Jones is RB twenty eight. Fits. Do
you think those should be switched or do you agree
that Jones should be a few spots higher.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
I've got Mason RB thirty one and Jones RB Yeah,
RB twenty nine. So I'm pretty much right in line
with ECR on that. The only reason I don't like
Mason a little bit more than that, it's like the
Falcons are kind of a sneaky good run defense. Like
they allow the ninth fewest fantasy points to running backs
last year and the tenth fewest rushing yards to running

(16:01):
backs last year, So they're not a pushover with their
run defense. Pass defense different story, but yeah, I like
he's He's kind of borderline for me.

Speaker 1 (16:12):

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Guys, let's get into some of our start sit player debates.
Will start off at running back two guys who depending
on how you were approaching your drafts like maybe felt
fairly late relative to where they were going the year before.
There was definitely some fading of these players by some
people that I saw online, but they both had really
big week ones, Travis Etn and Brece Hall. Jake, I'll

(17:45):
start with you, would you rather start Etn or Haul
this week?

Speaker 5 (17:49):
I want to start both of them.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
They're both inside my top twenty, but I will go
still Haul with the slight edge over Etn. I know
Week one was everything we could have asked for from
Leon him in the Jaguars offense.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Including the trading way of Tank makes me cool.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Clear that up.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
The one interesting part about it is that Lequin Allen
was kind of in that were Shod White role, which
was actually the player I compared him to during the
draft process. Funny enough, and I only bring that up
to say that even though we saw Bucky Irving outplayer
Shod White last year, it took almost the entire season
for Liam Cohen too. Finally, Bell cow put that un
quotes Bucky Irving. So all that being said, I still

(18:27):
want to start Etn and everywhere that I can, but
I trust Hall a little bit more. It's not anything
that's changed from what you guys and I previously talked
about when I brought it up to you that they
used the bigger running back next to Justin Fields. And
I mean that as in any team that's used Justin Fields,
they usually put the bigger body next to them once
they're inside the ten yard line.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
To offset his skill set.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
That being said, we know that Justin Fields can and
does throw the running backs, and he did with Breace Hall.
It was that explosiveness. It's that the fact that who
is still their number two right now, Josh Reynolds. So
I think the real number two is Briace Hall.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
So I'm okay with it.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
I think they're going to have similar workloads, and again,
the passing game I think is a little bit better.
As crazy as that might sound to people, I think
the passing game upside is better for Breuce Holden it
is for etn.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Fits. I think it's probably fair that a lot of
people would agree with Jake in terms of, like, ideally
you'd like to be starting both of these guys, but
I think there's probably a lot of bills out there
where you know they their song or receivers, so there's
not room in the flex and you know they took
another running back early, and you really have to pick
between these two given how late ETN was going. So
if you were forced to not start both but pick one,

(19:32):
they're RB fifteen and RB sixteen respectively in ECR, who
would you pick?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
And that's how I have them RB fifteen and RB sixteen.
I've ETN ranked one spot higher. But I don't have
a real strong feeling about this. It just it certainly
seems like Liam Cohen wants ETN to be the main
man in the Jaguars backfield, after what we saw in
their win over the Panthers, and after you know, James
Gladstone traded away Tank Big Speed of the Eagles. ETN

(19:58):
played sixty point six per of the Jaguars offensive snaps
last week. Bigsby was second in snaps in the Jaguars backfield,
but now he's gone, so maybe that snap share ticks
up even a little more for ETM this week. And
as for Hall, like after an entire offseason of Aaron
Glenn saying he wanted to use all three of his

(20:18):
running backs, I mean, the Jets did play Braylan Allen
and Isaiah Davis some and Braylen Allen had an eight
yard touchdown run, but Hall played fifty seven point eight
percent of the Jets snaps. Pretty healthy snap share there, I,
you know, feel slightly more confident in the size of
Etn's roll, I guess, but still very encouraging usage for
Hall in week one.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
I won't ask the same question on every player debate,
but for these two in particular, do you guys feel like,
in terms of your rest of season rankings you are
aggressively moving them up after just one week? Because these
were two guys that, like I said at the beginning,
there were some people who liked them and thought they
were good values where they were and worthy risks, but
these were not players that were being aggressively fought after

(21:02):
on draft day for the most part. So do you
guys feel like one week I've seen enough both these
guys like kind of full steam ahead going forward? If
you have this basis, start um, borderline, set it and
forget it, Jake, or do you still have any like
kind of trepidation based on let's not overreact to just
one week.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
So I had whole twenty two preseason, I'd probably move
him up two spots, bump out the check oh and
obviously Kenneth Walker to go back to that at RB eighteen,
so that would pretty much be like right around twenty,
maybe a spot or two more if we want to
do a complete toss up, so he's not moving that much.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
Etn was always my.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
Highest rank Jaguar, but that being said, I still had
him as an RB three and part of it was
tank Basically he was still around not knowing if Leon
Cohen was really going to turn to ETN or try
to make BIGSB a thing a ETN a timeshare piece.
So the fact that it's already been cleared up, I
think you can argue ETN should jump into it at
least back in RB two value, if not even a
little bit higher.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Fitz Hall was running back sixteen in my preseason rankings.
Now he's up to fourteen in the rest of season rankings,
so slight move up. Etn was running back thirty four
for me, like I just I had no idea which
way that backfield was gonna go, and thought, you know,
last year of his contract, maybe he could be a
stout at some point. And now I've got him at

(22:18):
RB fourteen, like huge, huge.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Change in the way.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
I probably no one else in the league. I've viewed
through more of a different lens after one week than Travis.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Can I do a follow up question for fits there is?
Is it etn over every rookie running back not named gent.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Now ooh, let's see, I think I might have Hampton.
I've Hampton one spot, three spots ahead of them. I've
got Hampton RB thirteen.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Oh, Hampton is two spots behind in ECR for this week,
for the record, just to give context there. And you
know guys like Jay Van Henderson are you know, seven
spots behind and beyond gent Y's up at RBLI for
week two, just to give those those numbers. Jake, you
keep talking about Kenneth Walker. Let's get to him for
our second running back debate here. This is for week two,

(23:08):
not for the rest of the season. Kenneth Walker or
Javonte Williams coming off of his two touchdown game in
the opener, I.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Have them on completely separate tiers. Javonte Williams, like I
will admit, Javonte Williams didn't look one hundred percent pre injury.
Gravanta Williams. I'd say he was about ninety percent, But
that was the opportunity we're looking for, is hey, can
he look something like we used to know? But the
biggest thing here is something like we used to know?
They almost put that Gautier song in my head and
now I just did just is Javonte Williams kind of

(23:38):
falls into what I think is Joe Mixon if healthy,
Nick Chubb right now, and it's the volume, Like I
do think there'll be touches given away. Miles Sanders did
get some and then of course that funnel didn't help things.
Jayden Blue still isn't ready according to Jerry Jones and
everybody with his staff, and then probably inactive again this week.
So as long as he's healthy, it's a volume play,
and especially against the Giants, which the one part about

(24:00):
going back to the Giants that had brought up in
week one is that to get away from that defensive
line is you want to get some space and get
some runs out to the side, but also some receptions
and going against the Giants, Travanti Williams over Miles Sanders
in that area.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
So that's why.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
And to speak one more time to the Kenneth Walker,
like I said, I wasn't saying don't come for me,
please do? I like if you drafted in August, I
am sorry. The clear thing here is I'm hoping it
maybe fits. Is kind of his opinion. I don't want
to speak for Hi. I'm kind of curious how you
feel though, is maybe he's still not one hundred percent.
Maybe he's still being worked back in. The appeal for
Walker is to fit in the Kubiak system. But week one,

(24:35):
the fact that Sharbonney got the goal line touches and
they kind of used Walker as the pass down running back.
I'm just concerned that that doesn't continue throughout the entire season.
And maybe the door was so open for Sharbonay that
Kubiak already made his decision and that's how they're going
to play it unless an injury happens.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Fitz, what do you think?

Speaker 6 (24:52):
I think.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
I think Walker is probably one of the most discussed
players this week coming off of Week one the terms
of like what that's probably a better way to put it.
Just like you know he I mean again, the fit
in the offense is really appealing. He was one of
my most targeted players in that like round three and
four range if I was going receiver early, largely because
of what Jake said early in August. I'm just kidding.

(25:14):
I liked him already too, but I just like you
could see the upside case so clearly, and now we've seen,
just in one week the downside case. You know, not
true deb a full downside, but like the way in
which the ceiling doesn't get hit. So when you look
at Walker compared to a guy like Davonte, who still
does not look like the player he used to be,
but has this amazing I was shouting from the rooftops

(25:37):
that he was going RB thirty seven in real time
ADP by the end of draft season, and I was like,
that is insane. This is the starting running back who
is going to get I think, pretty much every touch
he can handle, just because there's no other competition there
for an offense that I expect to be like the
poor man's Bengals this year. I think he's going to
be the poor man's Chase Brown. Not as good a player,
but we'll have that kind of opportunity. So you compare

(25:58):
him like that who did take advantage of a Jalen
Carter list defense, to a guy like Kenneth Walker, where
the talent's really there. But you know, we have so
many questions about the opportunity. How do you square those
two They are two spots apart in ECR Javonte's RB
twenty two Walker's RB twenty four.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, you're right about Walker being probably the most discussed
player this week, early this week and the you know,
post post Week one aftermath, And like I hosted a
Q and A on the Fantasy Pros discord last night,
I got more questions about Kenneth Walker than any other player.
But you know, at the top of the show, I

(26:33):
told Jake should not capitulate on Kenneth Walker, at least
not yet. Look, I'm not that worried about the Seahawks
running back usage in Week one. Like, yes, Charboney outsnapped
Kenneth Walker thirty to twenty one. But as Jake sort
of alluded to, Walker was dealing with the foot injury
last season, and he missed some practice time in August
with footsore us. I think the Seahawks are just being

(26:55):
a little cautious here, and Charbona is one of the
better backup running backs in the league, so they can
afford to lighten Walker's load if he's not one hundred percent.
But like, I don't think the foot issue is a
big concern, and maybe evidence of that is that Walker
got touches on a really high percentage of his snaps.
He played twenty one snaps, he either carried the ball

(27:17):
ran a route on nineteen of them. He had ten
carries and three catches, so touched the ball in more
than half of his twenty one snaps. So like, I'm
I'm still pretty bullish, and I am very high on
the Kubiak running game. So Javonte, you know, he had
the two touchdowns against the Eagles, there just wasn't a
lot of sizzle on his performance, though he averaged three

(27:39):
point six yards per carry against an Eagles defense that
was missing Jalen Carter. So I still feel much better
about Walker than I do about Javonte. And like, this
is from someone who to your point wherem I fell
backwards into Javonte Williams in a lot of drafts and
I really was not that into him, but I wound
up getting him on like three or fourteen just because

(28:01):
no one wanted to take him.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
I on Javante on the performance against Philly. I just
wanted to quickly say like, and I didn't go back
and look at actually like what his you know, yards
per carry was before the delay and after. It did
feel like those were it was like a tale of
two different games, just for the offenses in general when
they had that hour plus lightning delay in the opener.
So I don't know if his yards per carry and

(28:25):
like efficiency, just the general offensive performance like dropped a
lot during that when looking at the course of the
whole game. If it felt like that kind of threw
everybody off and they came out a bit rusty. I'm
so scoring was way down after that, So I'm curious.
I went say, I'm curious to see how he does,
you know, you know, moving forward against more normal team.
But he's facing Dexter Lawrence this week, so you know
that's maybe not the easiest matchup for him, and well

(28:48):
we'll see how that goes. Let's go to the wide
receiver debates here, Tyreek Hill versus Ricky Pearsall, Pierceaull obviously
interesting in them. He had a pretty good looking, you know,
first game in terms of the usage, and you know,
he's obviously talented player. But now we have this quarterback
issue in San Francisco, gonna be Mac Jones for a
month issue, kind of mentioned it at the top of
the show, fits that there's a little uncertainty about what

(29:09):
that exactly is going to look like. But I have
him here going head to head against you know, just
a player on the most seemingly dysfunctional and the worst
vibes team that I can ever recall seeing in Week
one in my life. And I watched the Ravens beat
the Miami Dolphins fifty nine to ten in Week one
in Lamar's second season, his first year as a starter,

(29:29):
and I still feel like the Vibes were worse in
this Week one game than they were in twenty nineteen.
That's how just bad it looked on both sides of
the ball for Miami. So, Fitz, I'll start with you
on this one hill or Piersaal Who do you like
better this week?

Speaker 3 (29:42):
I suspect this is going to be.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
This opinion is going to put me in the minority here,
but I would play Tyreek.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
I know there's a chance Piersaw.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Gets a lot of targets this week with George Kittle
out with a hamstring injury, Juan Jennings probably out with
a shoulder injury, and like, I don't think we should
be that alarmed that it's going to be mac Jones
at QB rather than brock Purty because of Perdy's toe injury.
But I also think there's a good chance Christian McCaffrey
touches the ball twenty five times and Brian Robinson touches

(30:12):
it a dozen times, and the forty nine ers just
try to beat a bad Saints team with a ball
control attack that mostly uses the running game and the
short passing game.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
I'll like.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
As for Tyreek, our guy deebro made some really interesting
points about him in the primer this week. So the
Dolphins pulled their starters in the fourth quarter because they
were getting steamrolled by the Colts. But in the first
three quarters, Tyreek had a twenty seven point eight percent
target share, a forty eight point two percent air yard chair,
a thirty point eight percent first read share, and he

(30:43):
averaged two point five yards per route run. All really
encouraging numbers. But unfortunately, you.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Know, Tua was just awful.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
So Tyreek Hill had like four catches for forty yards.
I don't think two is terrible, Like he led the
league in passing yardage a couple of years ago. He
just said a really, really bad game. Dolphins are back
at home. They're playing the Patriots, who've been playing without
star cornerback Christian Gonzales, and they got completely firebombed by
Gino Smith and the Raiders passing game last week.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I'm still starting Tyreek.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Hill, Jacob. I'm curious not just when you think about
these two players, you know, head to head, but what
you think about the Miami situation in general. If you
are buying into the idea that hey, this is just
like as bad as it gets in Week one, but
you know, you're so healthy, so let's give him a
chance for a bounce back, or if this is just
gonna be a lost season for them.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
I think it could be the latter.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
I mean, let me ask you, guys, want question, what
the hell did Mike McDaniel do since last January?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Like, what the hell did he do?

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Because the NFL adjusted to Mike McDaniel on offense and
he had an entire offseason to do the same, and
through Week one at least, it looked like jack bleep,
you know what, Like there's no sugar coating it to
the fact of there's no excuse, like there's a reason
he's on the hot seat. There's a reason that Greer's
on the hot seat. The offense line is still a

(32:00):
question mark, and the biggest concern I have was just
gonna maybe even sound crazy, but it has nothing to
do with the players, just that I had it shove
Tyrek Kill under the bus, but he kind of like
nudged them off the corner there and saying like, you know,
I'm sorry. Not Tyrek Hill Tua about the quarterback play.
He kind of like walked past him, kind of like
bumped into him as the bus was coming by. Like
when you take shots at your quarterback, you're in panic mode,

(32:23):
Like your job is on the line and you're in
panic mode. So I am going Ricky Pearson. I don't
fault fits for still sticking with Tyrek Hill. Actually would
trade low if I could, or buy low on him.
I have people asking me if they should drop Jayleen Widdle.
There's no way on Earth I'm dropping Jalen Wattle after
one bad game. But I lean to what Fish said though,
is mac Jones supported Brian Thomas enough that Brian Thomas

(32:45):
was a top ten wide receiver. I think he can
do the same for Ricky pearsll to in this start,
whether or not Jennings is out there to offset the volume.
The one concern I think would be the floor and
the fifth didn't say this, but I wonder if you
would agree the floor would be what if mac Jones
locks in on healthy Juwan Jennings, Like if Joan Jennings
is out there and mac Jones locks in on him
instead of Piercal, I think that's the one risk and

(33:07):
I could see that happening if Jennings is out there.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Yeah, the fort Niners offense in general, Like I wonder
if this is maybe like foolish of me, but I
just like I don't really care who the quarterback is,
Like I just have too much faith in Kyle Shanahan
and like we've seen him do it with with really
surprising and bad quarterbacks in the past, to the point
where like mac Jones is good enough that I'm like,

(33:32):
you know what, like with with Kyle Shanahan calling plays
and designing stuff, Like I think he can be enough.
And I think that's a great point on the Brian
Thomas Junior thing, how like we have seen him kind
of support you know, this really elite level receiver play
from a guy before fits. What do you make of
Jake's point about like maybe he just locks in on Jennings.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Yeah, that could be. You just that's the thing. You
just don't know how it's gonna work with Mac Jones
at the controls. That's like a little bit of my
hesitation with Pearsaw. But I think Piersall is an obvious
start this week though.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yeah, let's go to another wide receiver debate here. And
this is a player that I included in the start
sit from the waiver ad section. But I thought it
was interesting they were near each other in ECR Marky
Sprout or Roma Dunzay who you know, it wasn't the
biggest game for the Chicago passing offense in week one,
but he did catch a touchdown obviously year two, Jake,
I know Dunzay is somebody that you were really interested in.

(34:21):
So him here in week two of year two going
up against Hollywood Brown, Who do you prefer? Oh?

Speaker 5 (34:26):
I got Roman doing?

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Is I still similar to the Jamison Williams conversation. I
understand Hollywood Brown if you want the floor, but I
feel like that's all it is against the floor, And
I don't like the fact that he's going against the
Eagles again, and it has nothing to do with the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
It just has to do with the fact that.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
I'm worried about the Eagles secondary. I'm worried about the
fact that it's going to take ten targets to get
that value that we were talking about earlier, just to
maybe peck into wide receiver too. The guy had sixteen
targets and needed a big play at the end of
the game to get ninety nine yards, not even one
hundred yards. And I'm not saying things won't change this week. Obviously,
the game plan shifted as soon as Xavier Worthy game

(35:00):
got hurt, and maybe they use Brown downfield a little
bit more. Is still not the best matchup for me,
and I know the Detroit secondary is possibly on par
with the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
I would still give it to the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
I bring that up to say that the Lions are
concerning enough, but it gets the Packers. I don't think
they've showed anything where I want to say, you know what,
I'm gonna go out there and play a Dunzay again.
I will admit here's the one caveat if.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
You don't like the floor. The lower floor is clearly with.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
The Dunesay yeah, fits, are you looking at this through
that same prison of like what the floor could be
in the end the ceiling, or do you have like
an easier call just in terms of you really like
one player versus the other.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah, I mean, I definitely think the floor is safer
with Hollywood, Like he's going to get a huge number
of targets again out of.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Necessity, and but I.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
I don't know how long he's gonna hold up if
Patrick Mahomes keeps peppering him with these short throws and
making him face tacklers who weigh one hundred pounds more
than he does. Like it seems like Hollywood is a
good bet for at least six or seven catches this week,
maybe more if he doesn't.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Get knocked out of the game.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
But like Caleb Williams started off well against the Vikings
on Monday Night, but things just went off the rails
for him in the second half. And now the Bears
have to go on the road to face the Lions,
who are going to be in a really foul mood
after getting smoked by the Packers in Week one. Like,
I don't think this game is going to go well
at all for the Bears. So even though I think
the Lions are probably gonna be without Terry and Arnold

(36:23):
one of their cornerbacks. Like, I don't really want to
start any of the Bears this week.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
All right, let's go to the rapid fire start sit
decisions here. We've got players at every position, included in
this one at running back, Isaiah Pichecko or Zach Sharboney,
who we kind of talked about from the other side
of it. In that backfield with Kenneth Walker already fits,
I'll start with you on this one, Checko or Sharbonay
this week.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Pachecko.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
We just talked about the Walker Sharbonay dynamic, and I
think the balance of power in the backfield probably shifts
back towards Walker.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
In the coming weeks.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I know pachecko investors are really freaked out that he
got five carries in Week one, but the Chiefs trail
by like seven to ten points for most of that game,
and Pachecko pretty much dominated the early down snaps. Yeah,
Kareem Hunt and Brishard Smith played on passing downs and
it was mostly Hunt in short yardage situations, which is annoying.
But the bottom line is that Pachecko, I think looks

(37:17):
like his twenty twenty three self, not the ghost of
Isaiah Pichecko we saw last year when he came back
from the broken leg, and presumably without Rashid Rice and
Xavier Worthy this week, like the Chiefs at least have
to accomplish some sort of balance run pass on offense
to avoid putting too much pressure on a pretty mid

(37:38):
group of pass catchers and to avoid over exposing Mahomes
to one of the better pass rushes in the league.
So I'm going with Pachecko.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Chick, what do you think?

Speaker 4 (37:48):
So for all the reasons until that last part, I
was agreeing with Fitzus and why I would go both
Seahawks running backs over Pachecko, I just I have legit concerns,
Like if you told me this game was competitive from
the jump out the entire way, I would agree. I
just don't know that the Eagles just don't gob smack them.

Speaker 5 (38:04):
Again.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
I just think the Eagles match up too well with
the Chiefs. Nothing to do with the Super Bowl. I
just look at every position out. I mean, honestly, I
was gonna say, outside of Court, you could argue Court
Holmes is a better quarterback. Hall of Famer Hurts will
be a Hall of Famer in time too. But at
my point, being is like position by a position. I'm
just gonna take the Eagles, and I'm worried that if
they are playing even seven points down from the first quarter,

(38:27):
that the snapcounts just going to be exactly what we
saw last week.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
And that's my fear.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
I am not ready to have a Jalen Hurts Hall
of Fame debate just given all the conversation that's gonna happen.
How much credit.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Anybody who doesn't have them inside the top ten, even
potentially top five, it's just looking for clickbait, like stop.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
Yeah, top ten. I totally agree, but like, no, we
don't have to get into the hall.

Speaker 5 (38:51):
I still take your boy Lamar over them every single time.
Don't don't get to her.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
I should, I should, I should hope, So that that's
an off season conversation we can have Hall of Fame
case for Jalen Hurts. Let's go to a receiver one here,
Sedric Cedric Tillman or Chris Alave. Jake. I'll start with
you on this one. Who do you like better? For
week two? Tilman or a Lave For.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Everybody that wants to come for me for Keth Walker.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Hopefully you also came with me for Cedric Tillman. Are
enjoying this ride because Cedric Tillman is here, and Cedric
Tillman is going to rank over Chris Olave for me
this week. I do think Chris Olave is a nice value.
I think he's very much though in the Marquis Brown
realm where he's going to need a ton of targets.
He's just going to need the volume which is there.
But of the two offenses, I trust more and Joe Flacco.
Of course, it could go Billy up in Baltimore against

(39:33):
your boys. But at the same time, I will say
this sounds crazy to say. I didn't check the weather
as of yet because I don't until Saturday. But like
he is Rain, I would make the switch like this
is a bad game for passing potential. But I do
believe that Joe Flacco is going to pass plenty against
the Ravens. I do think the Ravens are vulnerable as
we just saw in week one, And no, I'm not
putting Joe Flacco on the same level of those passing games.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
But Cedric Tillman.

Speaker 4 (39:56):
I brought this up about the Harold Fanning thing. The
Harold Fannin concern is not just in Joe, it's Jerry Judy.
That's similar to the Tyler Warren Josh Down situation. Is
they're going to involve similar areas of the field, similar usage,
And I just think Tilman's the answer is the one
for the Browns.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, Tillman. Tilman scares me, honestly, like just as a
Ravens fan, Like it would not shock me truthfully if
he ends up having a like a pretty decent game,
even if you think about the Ravens as this like
tougher matchup. I mean, the best game of his you know,
career so far when he had that huge, you know
kind of run last season. The best of those games
came against the Ravens. He had seven kiss ninety nine

(40:34):
yards and two tous. I was in the building for
that one, so I remember you. I was in Cleveland
and he I said this a bunch last year on
the show, like the eye tests from being in the
being in that stadium. I was just like, this dude
looks like like a beast of an NFL receiver. Like
I'm like, he's going to be really good. Obviously. Concussion
stuff and everything like that. But he torched the Ravens

(40:54):
last October. It would not shock me if it happened
again this week. Fits, how are you wracking this one? Tilman?

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Are a lot Olave?

Speaker 2 (41:01):
He hit thirteen targets last week. He's just He's going
to be such a big part of the Saints passing game.
And yes, it's one of the worst passing games in
the league, but Olave is probably the best thing about it.
I like Tilman, he's a player on the rise. But
like I talked about this in the offseason, how Olave's
yards per route run for his career is right up

(41:23):
there with like Jamar Chase and CD Lamb. Like, Olave
is just in a different class than Cedric Tillman.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
I've got a handful of flex questions here, David Montgomery
or in Mecca ag Buka coming off his great first
game in his NFL debut. Fit's starting with you on
this one, Montgomery or Agbuca this week?

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Yeah, I mean, I've got ag Buka fever two, but
I'm going with Monty here. I just think the Lions
are going to crush the Bears, and the Detroit running
game is gonna have a.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Big day, Jake.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
This is a pure do you want the floor versus
the upside? So Montgomery vacuum Montgomery, but if you need
the higher ceiling, I still think that love is with Buka,
even in a tougher matchup.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
Let me ask you this, coming off that first week,
I mean, Chris Godwin is like starting practice again. He's
not gonna be back for a few weeks still, but
you know he will be back eventually in some level
of you know, health, like Buka. For you guys, coming
off that week one, where is the rest of season
amongst receiver rankings.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
I thought you were going to ask if sell high
and I was gonna say yes immediately. It's not the
fact that I don't believe in Abuka. It's just I
believe Mike Evans is a great by low. I believe
that Chris Godwin is going to be a factor. But
kind of more of like it's gonna be a thorn
for everybody, is that when we have a good comparison,
will be like Tyler Boyd in the years with the Bengals, somebody,
even as valuable as Tyler Boyd's best season was still

(42:40):
only wide receiver forty. Somebody is going to have to
take a back ish seat. Could it be Godwin? Absolutely,
but could it also be a Buka?

Speaker 5 (42:48):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
I don't think the issue here is I don't think
it's gonna be Mike Evans. I think Mike Evans is
locked in no matter what. So that's why I say
sell high, because everybody's going nuts for him right now
and deservedly so. But if you can get wide receiver
one value, I wouldn't put him in the wide receiver
one conversation. I would put him in a group with
like Davante Adams and your boys A Flowers. So like

(43:09):
still back end wide receiver two for me?

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Fits what do you think rest of the season?

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Wide receiver twenty seven?

Speaker 2 (43:16):
There you go, god I'm not really worried about Godwin
displacing him, honestly.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Okay, let's go to another flex here. DK Metcalf versus
Travon Henderson, two guys that we actually we talked about
both of them last week on the show, but not
going up against each other. So now after seeing them
in these you know one is a rookie won in
a new offense for this year one week in who
do we like better? For week two? I fits I'll
start with you on this one, Henderson or Metcalf.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Metcalf like his ECR this week is wide Receiver eighteen,
which seems a little too high for me, but I
could still flex him over Henderson. I'm pro Henderson, but
we have to acknowledge the reality that Henderson was out
snapped by Ramondre Stevenson forty six to twenty five in
Week one, and Henderson doesn't necessarily need a big snapshare

(44:02):
to make his fantasy quota in any given week, but
a thirty five percent snapchare Like, I'm not playing a
guy with a thirty five percent snapchair over in alpha receiver.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
The I'm curious if you agree with what I'm about
to say, Jake, But the reason that I would like
consider leaning Henderson here even despite that snapshare, is just that, like,
I think there's a real chance that Miami is just
the defense to target this season, and like, I don't
just start any player who's even remotely worth considering starting.
Maybe that's an overreaction to Week one, but I just

(44:33):
thought it was like the type of game that really
sets the tone for the season, and I will be
very happy to start oposing players against him. What do
you think Henderson or Metcalf.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
So I'm chuckling for two reasons, as one is I
Henderson barely in front of Metcalf, and then two, I'm
wondering if the Fits and I are ever going to
agree the rest of the way. We're kind of the
opposite sides here. I'm a little bit more with you,
not just because of the Dolphins offense and look like
this is going to come for a slight for Patriots fans.
But maybe I'm giving Vrabel and mcdaine was too much
credit here, But they had to see the same thing
we saw in week one, right, there was no question

(45:06):
who the best running back and one of the best
talents for their offense on the field was If I'll
put it this way, if you are correct, Fits, and
it's the fact that the snapshare does stay at thirty
five forty percent for Henderson, there is something wrong in
the heads of Rabel and McDaniels. There is no reason
this should repeat in week two, just like there's one
coming up with another running back that should not repeat

(45:28):
in week two.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
The next starts a decision here is Dylan Sampson or
Jalen Waddle. Starting with you on this one.

Speaker 5 (45:36):
Jake Sampson, My boy, I have way too many browns
this year.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
I can't believe I'm like riding with so many browns
in my fantasy leagues.

Speaker 5 (45:44):
It comes down to like it wasn't just.

Speaker 4 (45:45):
The eight for eight and one of the leading receiving
options is Oh, by the way, they're going against the Ravens,
which you expect to have to pass Judkins. As of today,
we still don't even know. And even if he's out there,
how much is going to be involved. And even if
he is involved, even if he's the clear leader in
Jerome Ford doesn't get a touch, who is still Austin
Ackler on this offense?

Speaker 5 (46:03):
Dylan Samson.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
I am going to ride Dylan Samson until the wheels
fall off.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Fits I'm going waddle And look, we're still having I know,
Jake and I disagreeing the entire way. Like, I don't
think the Miami offense will be as bad as it
was last week, and maybe the team in general, like
Matt Perrault of Betting Pros our Betting Pros host, Like
he pointed out, Miami has been really good at home

(46:31):
early in the season, and maybe part of it is
that like it gets it gets cooking down in Miami
in early September, and I think the Dolphins somehow have
it configured that the visiting team has to be in
the bench on the Sun side of the fields like
the entire game. So like Miami's record is really good,
I think they have a better game this week. The

(46:52):
last time Waddle faced New England was Week twelve last season.
Easily Waddle's best game of the year. Eight catches, one
hundred and forty four yards in touchdown. I don't want
to start a Browns running back against.

Speaker 5 (47:03):
The Ravens mostly as of today, mostly cloudy and rainy
for Sunday fast. Has that change your opinion?

Speaker 1 (47:09):
Oh, I know, I don't think the Ravens have that
stronger run defense this year. They lost Michael Pierce, Like
I thought it was the part of the defense that
was most likely to struggle. Obviously, Week one, Josh Allen
torched the secondary. He's Josh Allen, so like, you know,
who knows what that's gonna look like going forward. But

(47:30):
I need to see more from the Ravens defense to
be like wanting to avoid them with running backs and
particularly pass catching running backs. Like I don't think they're
Kyle Hamilton's very good against screens. I don't know if
this defense as a whole is very good against screens.
At least it hasn't been in recent years. So like
any kind of pass catching back, like Dylan Sampson coming

(47:50):
off a game where he caught eight passes, it would
not surprise me if he actually has a pretty good
day in any type of half PPR or PPR format.
And I also just I mean fit. You know, I
loved Sampson in the draft process, and I loved the fit,
especially with Judkins not being around. So I kind of
just want to ride Sampson until he gives me a
reason not to.

Speaker 2 (48:09):
Honestly, you voluntarily brought up the Ravens bills, Cam. I
guess the healing has begun.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
Just yesterday, I started listening to some of the recap
shows that I've been putting off for a few days
because I needed to emotionally recover from it. You know,
it's a lot of season, all right. You know, a
lost in Week one doesn't kill him. So that was
a tough few days for me. Let's go to another
flex and get off that game as quickly as possible.
Michael Pittman or r J. Harvey this week fits.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
I'll start with you, all right, let's see if Jake
and I can finally find a love connection here. We
should not be on the newly would newly wedded yeah together,
because we would not win.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
I'm gonna go r J. Harvey.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
I hate that he only had a twenty nine percent
snapshare against the Titans last week, but we saw the
big play potentially in a fifty yard run where it
looked like he was shot out of a freaking cannon.
And I don't want to play any quarterback or wide
receiver against the Broncos unless it's a star level guy.
The Denver pass defense is just too nasty. Best in

(49:09):
the league, Jake, we barely agree this time.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Finally, Yeah, go flip it over. And this is who
I was alluding to. A Trevion Henderson is you clearly
need to get the ball to RJ. Harvey Moore, and
I know Sean Payton is going to do Sean Payton
things as he does use multiple running backs, hell rotate
his wide receivers. On top of it, Miss Marvin Mimms
was disappointing. Maybe we should be looking at Troy Franklin,
or maybe he goes back again and switches it all
up because he's Sean Payton. But the one thing I

(49:36):
do know is that he knows enough to get the
best out of his running backs, and I think he's
going to give more touches to Harvey this week.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
All right, I want to do a quarterback one and
a tight end one to wrap things up. We'll start
with the quarterback one. How about Patrick Mahomes versus Drake May.
They are both ranked very highly this week as QB ones.
I had it up YSA. I want to see if
it's moved at all. I believe they were QB ten
and QB eleven when I last look thees QB nine,
and now Mahomes is at QB nine, May is at

(50:02):
QB ten. But I think it's very possible there are
teams out here who have Mahomes as their starter when
they drafted, and then Drake May is their backup. So
with them being back to back here in the rankings,
I wanted to throw them in there. Fits. I'll start
with you, Mahomes or May.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
I've got Mahomes ranked one spot higher. I don't like
that his passing, his pass catching, weaponry is so depleted.
But Mahomes is still a great quarterback. We saw him
run pretty aggressively last week against the Chargers. I can't
wait to see how Drake May plays against the Dolphins
because Miami blitzed at the highest rate in the league

(50:38):
in Week one, and obviously it didn't work out very
well against the Colts. So a big game is definitely
in play for Drake May. But if he's not as
far along as we hope and doesn't handle the blitz
well like maybe as a terrible game. So I think
Mahomes is probably just a little safer.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
What do you think, Jacob?

Speaker 4 (50:58):
We disagree again, Yeah, it just comes. It's the safer
I don't disagree with. It's the rushing up side that
it continues to vault May with the higher ceiling at quarterback.
And again I keep going back to this Eagles matchup,
and you know, maybe Mahlmes flips it, maybe he's pulling
it like what we've seen from the greats. He's figured
out enough and he's seen enough of the Eagles that
it's finally you can see what I do now this week.

(51:18):
But I still feel like the ceilings with May, they're
very close too.

Speaker 5 (51:22):
I have him back to back as.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Well, tight end TJ. Hockinson or Kyle Pitts JQ do
you have here if TJ.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
Hockinson couldn't do it with no Jordan Asen, Like, how
worried are we going to be when he finally comes
back in two more games? And I just bring that
up to say, like, why not go after Kyle Pitts
like it happened a week one And for everybody out
there that maybe didn't watch the game, I.

Speaker 5 (51:44):
Kyle Pitts hasn't changed.

Speaker 4 (51:46):
He still can't separate. He's still not great in his routes.
But the one thing they did in week one that
I liked is, by the way, oh you have this
athletic matchup problem. He basically played power forward. He was
leaning into him and spinning off the coverage. It wasn't
like he was a great separator. So he's still Kyle Pitts.
It's just they're kind of figuring this out like, hey,
maybe we don't ask him to run routes where he

(52:07):
doesn't separate, So the potential that we don't have London
or Mooney or both. I think that Kyle Pits is
in play, and I go back to like I said
about TJ. Hoginson, who, by the way, wasn't even barely
involved in that amazing fourth quarter by JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
Fits. Do you like Hockinson or Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 3 (52:23):
Yeah, Jake nailed it.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
I mean Pitts seven catches for fifty nine yards on
eight targets last week. Hockkinson three for fifteen on four targets.
I'm not basing this solely on last week's results, but
Kyle Pitts is probably more essential to his team's passing
game right now than Hawk is to his, especially if
Darnel Mooney is out again for the Falcons.

guys will wrap things up with our touchdown calls contest.
I am on running back, Jake Is on receiver fits
good luck with tight end. I'm going with Chase Brown.
I kind of think he's just gonna score a touchdown
like almost every week, just the way I expect this
offense to operate whenever they get in close. I think
they're going to run with Chase Brown and give him

(53:25):
an opportunity at least a few times a game. So
not that I don't have the same level conviction that
I did like a year ago with like Derek Henry
is scoring a touch on every game, but I kind
of think Chase Brown might get something close to that,
like the way I expect him to get used this year.
So I'm gonna go with Chase Brown here for a
running back, Jake, could you have it wide receiver?

Speaker 5 (53:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (53:41):
I could take the layup with you more Chase and
bounce back. That would be super easy. But I'm not
gonna do that. I'm gonna go a little bit deeper
and actually outside top twenty twenty five wide receivers and
George Pickens to do it against the Giants. I think
Dak Prescott is going to come on strong this game
as Dak Prosscott was to do against the Giants, but.

Speaker 5 (53:55):
Also looking at the secondary.

Speaker 4 (53:57):
I know they added a debu, but that was because
Banks has been so disappointing that got kicked a second
or third depending on how they want to use it.
And that's the big thing is Slam can do his
thing anywhere, but if you're looking for the opportunity for
those big plays and picks to take, you basically control
that secondary covers that he's gonna face. I think this
could be like the pickens that we hope to see
when he was signing with the count or trade to
the Cowboys and then signed. I think this is one

(54:20):
hundred and a touchdown potential.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
So we know that based on last week, Jake and
I are going to hit this because running back and
receiver are easy fits. Can you be the first one
to hit a tight end touchdown call this year?

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Tall order and I'm gonna go with kind of an
unconventional choice here, Brenton Strange. He had four catches for
fifty nine yards for the Jaguars last week, and I
think he has another good game Sunday against the Bengals
defense that really gives it up to tight ends.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
All right, So we got Chase Brown, George Pickens, and
Brenton Strange as our picks in the Touchdown Calls contest.
