that is Rich Davis, and I hate our NBA MVP.
We'll find out. I hate SGA. You're you gonna tell
us why I hate SGA. I bet you have something
(01:04):
to do with gambling. I hate Uncle Jane. Did he
draw a foul on YouTube?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Exactly, I hate him. I'll tell you why. It's no
big there's no big reveal. We were talking yesterday about
our DraftKings pick sixes. Well, first and first mostly do
you want to congratulate the MVP. Oh, I don't. Yeah,
I hate SGA. You gotta congratulate him. I hate him,
him him, I hate him. Remember congratulates love. Actually, we
(01:31):
hate Uncle Jamie. I hate SGA because no, because I
hate and despise that movie. You're a dunce. Then yeah, okay,
Well last night I hit all my pick six except
for one, and that was if you listened to yesterday's show,
SGA was thirty one and a half and I picked
the over and he ended up with thirty one, and
then in the fourth quarter they told him out oh
(01:52):
half the Yeah, I hate you. You could have had
like what three hund oh it was a nicet something
like that, So I hope you had a thunder feet
a thunderstore.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
You saw that youthful energy, that chemistry kick in late
in the game one fourteen eighty eight over over the
Timberwolves and tonight man Pacers. Nick's super pumped about that.
But last night, aside from some great basketball, you probably
watched this documentary. We're gonna talk about it, but farst trash, Yes, exactly,
(02:26):
that's what we're calling this segment. But we're also gonna
get into Midweek Major, turning your hump day into a
hump night. Every Wednesday we go over to the biggest stories
in sports and pop culture? Are the stories mid Week
or major Spots? Getting ready for that at Spots Center
if you want to play long at Covino and Rich
And I don't know if you heard Patrick Mahomes has
two new weapons. Umm inappropriate but accurate. Mahomes has two
(02:52):
new weapons. If you don't know what I'm talking about,
we will explain. You Gotta just you gotta just hang
with a solid show. In fact that we're gonna give
away prize is we're gonna do Mike's words of Wisdom,
Big Mic runs his place Who Mike every Wednesday Wednesday
words of Wisdom? If you could repeat it verbatim, it's
that simple, you win a prize. So stick around. But
(03:14):
before we talk Mahomes, before we talk Midweek Major, and
we're going to take it back to the year two thousand.
Today we got to talk about Brett Favor. Ever heard
of him? Heard Clared pick in the NFL draft, the
Falcons choose Brett Favor.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I don't remember Oval Reddenbacher choosing Brett Favor to the Falcons.
I don't remember that. I don't favor. And then Chris
Berman there with the rescue with the assist, making a
joke out of it, and then Favor to pick Farv.
Great job there, Berman, but Brett Favre. The Fall of Farv,
i'mtold on Netflix, debuted last night. We talked about it
(03:56):
briefly yesterday just to hype you up for it, but
we all watched. What are your thoughts, what were your takeaways?
And here's what's crazy about life and the news cycle
that we live in, especially in today's world, more now
than ever, is how quickly you forget, Like we remember
the story, but you don't remember all the details, and
when they're compiled into one untold documentary, you're like, yeah, damn,
(04:20):
Brett Farv, how do you get away with Brett farrash Yo, man?
I know you were a great football player and all,
but this good old boy did some shady stuff. I
think it was best summed up by that Green Bay
reporter who was asked to do a story about Brett
Farvre the family man, and he's like, I don't write fiction.
(04:43):
That was a great line. It was with our trend
of Brett Farves trash. Your takeaways, you know there's a
few one of them, and this wasn't Eyve. What made
him trash? Yeah? Like, what did you forget about? What
did you learn from the first time? Has your opinion changed?
(05:03):
I think it should have, I do. I mean, you
could separate the people. He was a great football player, Yeah,
but gunslinger, as they pointed out twenty five times they did.
And you know what, he did throw harder than the
average quarterback. Notice raking fingers. You know, great quarterback, but
(05:23):
not a great guy. And I think a lot of
us chose to forget about that. We did not, no,
but we were reminded of other things. Even I was
watching last night Rich and I was like, yeah, I
forgot about that part. So what were your takeaways? Guys
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's start off
with Rich eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. My
(05:44):
big takeaway that has nothing to do with him being trash.
We'll get to that. I absolutely forgot that he adamantly
retired twice and then came out of retirement quickly after.
I forgot. How annoying the I will never play another game.
But the thing is we know because he played for
the Jets and then he played for the Vikings. But
(06:05):
you're right, I forgot how it went down as well,
because again, we live in the time of next, the
next story, what's the next story? And then you move
on and you forget a little bit. I think we
owe Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers an apology because their
retirement hoaxes or comebacks or anything nothing compared to Brett
(06:25):
Farve's double doozy of I'll never play again by two
back and then back again, like what a pain in
the ass now and trash. By the way, when you
watched the inappropriate picture portion of the story, yeah, I
was reminded just how much it affected Jen Sturger, Like
(06:50):
we knew that, and Rich you could explain why and
how we knew that. I mean, I forgot that she
was doing that much in the industry. She really had
a great thing going. What I don't want to do
is this is not about me. I don't want to
I don't want to insert myself. But the reality is
I was dating Jen during the time of this happening,
and and spot our video guy was her roommate. So
(07:12):
I mean, when you talk about being close to a
story no one could be closer. That's why it was
extra weird for us to watch. I was oddly oddly
emotional watching this. I really was. I lack empathy. Rich
rich In spots should have been in this documentary. I mean,
I'm not even joking, you know, really me because there
were two like they had biased opinions, throw me in there.
(07:34):
You know what was in this documentary my living room
and my plant, which I still have. That's right, that
we could be known and I were like, wait a minute,
is that your plant? So trust our perspectives and we'd
love to hear yours eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox because we've known her for years. Yeah, rich really
knew her on a different level. Spot lived with her.
(07:54):
She was a frequent guest on our show, and it
was a sad time. But like I said, being so close,
I knew her as Jen, and I knew she loves sports,
and I knew she was doing cool stuff. But when
you see it compiled all the things that she did
in the past, she created, and the opportunity she created
for herself, You're like, damn man, one guy's wiener shot
(08:16):
got in the way of all of that. Momentum. That's
a shame. And I said to Covino to give an analogy.
Who does it better than me? Maybe Colin Stars. Just
because you label yourself the guy with the analogies doesn't
make you the best at them. Eventually it gets in
your head. I think we all give analogy, mine of
the best. I said to Cavino, that would be like
(08:38):
if when your career was just starting to starting to
take off, I wasn't waiting for it to take when
when we were in the early days of maxim and
Serious Exam, when our show was really starting to gain
some steam. That would be like, in that moment a
girl set you a boob pick and because of that
your career got derailed. Yeah, that's not fair. Man. Doesn't
(08:59):
seem fair now, does it? No, not at all. And
I think we were completely reminded at what a different
time it was. And I wish they brought this point
home more. We made this point yesterday, but let's repeat
it again. That happened in today's world. It would never
go down like that. It just wouldn't. And I understand
that Brett farre was a football god and still is
(09:21):
to a lot of people, but what he did was wrong,
and in today's world, you know, Jen would have been
a victim and Brett Farr would have had to answer
a lot of questions. Back then, back then, they pushed
her aside and he was a hero, which is terrible.
As Jen said, she lost her show, She had a
TV show that was canceled, and Brett Farr was inducted
(09:42):
into the Hall of Fame and his life went on
and he was the greatest and he's doing copperfit sock
commercials right, So it's like it didn't affect him, but
it completely affected her. Today's world, the me too movement happened.
Anytime someone missteps or does something crazy like that, it's
big news man and you're canceled. Dude, Brett Farre was
(10:04):
still a hero, and unfortunately Jen paid the price in
her career took a hit as a result. And to
fash forward to the second part of the Doctor, probably rich,
it probably affected your relationship. I mean, no doubt, that's
a whole other weird discussions friendships. I mean, yeah, it listen,
it's an awful scenario. And you know who doesn't get
(10:27):
enough blame that dirt bag and dead Spin, that AJ
guy because you know, had he not blown up the
story about Jen receiving the lude text and everything, then
it would have just been an awful experience for her
that she would have had to remember and have dealt with.
But by him exploiting that and blowing it up and
(10:47):
paying someone to hack her, which is next level. Was
cool about this untold documentary is that she had the receipts.
Because even if you were close to the story, even
if you paid close ten attention to the story, here
was still a part of you that thought, really she
was act come on, you know, or you had this
(11:09):
impression that maybe she was flirty with Brett Farv. But
you learn right from the source that she never even
met things. And that was always the thing. That's a big,
big revelation. That was always the thing that Cavino spot
and myself always found wild from knowing Jen very well,
as people would assume that because she was a good
(11:30):
looking girl, Jen, Jen's a great person, and I think
people would assume she was looking for opportunity, right. I
think that one of the biggest takeaways is that you're right,
we knew it, because again we're close to the story
at the time, but we always knew that. You know,
Jen had never met him, never shook his hand, and
he was just a creep trying to kick it to her.
I remember that, but I forgot. And the fact that
(11:52):
they've never met and he's so cavalierly is like whatever, Like,
guy is what did I say? Brett Farv's barber's trash.
The guy's a piece of ass really and uh, to
be honest, Pisa ass, No, he's no piece of ass
like that. He's got a little dinky. My dinky was
(12:15):
that small? Would you had never sent it to anyone?
Any wore crocs in the photo? What a loser? That
was a little tiny black box that they used to
cover it up. You know, if they're gonna blurt out
your penis on TV, you hope they use a bigger
box and like teny little box. So again, we understand
how the public probably viewed it. Jen was sexy. She's
a good looking girl. Oh, she's probably flirting with Brett Farv.
(12:36):
Even George Stuffinopolis what's his name?
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
The George even Stuffalus was insinuating that it was probably flattering, right, Jen,
I mean it is Brett Farv. She's like, no, not
at all. You know, she wasn't looking for that because
she really was trying to make the most of her
opportunities in this sports world. What's up? dB?
Speaker 6 (13:01):
I thought that her comeback, which was you're insinuating that
I would be flattered? Yeah, was so biting and granted
had happened, you know how many years ago, but that
was probably the second biggest part of that documentary where
you take a step back but just agreed the time and.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Place we're in that a reporter on ABC Nightly News
would insinuate. I mean, Jenny, are you flattered that one
of the best porta all time sent you is junk? Like, Oh,
you out of your mind?
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Yeah, yeah, this is so easy. This is so interesting
considering your connection. I'm not connected to Brett Farvre, but
I was born and raised in Wisconsin. The first game
that he appeared in with the Packers that they put
in this documentary, I was at against the Cincinnati Bengals with.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
That ninety two yard drive. It was what a performer,
what a gutsy football player. The separation here, you know,
it's wild to me.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
Then in my broadcasting career, you know, like throughout Farre's
later days, the retirement stuff that you mentioned of like
there not only like two official retirements. There was the
one that he announced with Green Bay and the one
that he announced with the Jets. It was also the
previous two or three seasons where he always hinted it
and wanted people to, you know, be like, oh, come back, yeah,
but there was never a full announcement by it. But
(14:15):
it is interesting because I was even asked what I
thought about the documentary, and first of all, I don't
think it even should be a FARV documentary. I figured
that there was so much of Jen Sturger on it
and that story and not that the welfare stuff was
just kind of put at the end. But it was
so so dramatic. But also this line of this timeline
(14:38):
of FARV was kind of felt by I think a
lot of the people that had backed him. And when
he went to the Vikings, he no longer had that
aura around him from Packer fans. So everything that was
wrong that he would do wrong, you would be like, oh, Okay,
maybe he isn't the guy that we thought he was.
And so when she says if people are telling you
(14:59):
who they are, are, you know, believe them, I think
that summed up the whole thing. I actually think it's
I didn't learn a lot about Farv in that scenario,
coming from where I came from.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
But man like he's just yeah, just not a good guy.
Listens as someone like we said, who knew Jen, well
knows Jen? To us. I hope there's some redemption for her.
I hope this leads to a cool opportunity and someone saying, hey,
this woman got her, you know, her career shot down
because of this. Maybe someone gives her a chance now,
(15:32):
I thought. Another telling quote Dan Bayer was from former
Packers coach Mike Sherman. I mean he didn't say it,
but it was quoted in the documentary where Brett Farr
felt so invincible at one point where he went rogue
on a play and Mike Sherman was furious on the
sideline and Farr's attitude was like, what are you going
(15:52):
to do? What are you going to do? Was the
attitude towards his head coach. And listen, when when you
win a Super Bowl for a small market team like that,
who is so thirsty since the bart star early Vince
Lombardi days, of course, this guy's gonna be a hero.
And Brett favre on the field, can't take away from
the fact that he was a warrior, a gunslinger, one
(16:12):
of the toughest sobast to ever wear a football uniform.
But off the field, it seems like we got to
see what this dude's all about. And we haven't even
gotten into the volleyball stadium story yet that Dan touched on.
But that's just another layer of what help was a
nice court? What a trash back story this is? And
again it made me oddly emotional because of the impact
(16:33):
it had on so many people in so many lives,
especially Jen's, and at the time too, maybe because at
the time when we heard about this, Yo, look, I'm
just a stupid young man at the time. This is
fifteen years ago. You're twenty something, You're old. I'm like, what, Brettford,
what no way? Not understanding or realizing the ramifications that
would eventually come of it, you know, and ruin toward
(16:55):
Jen's career and everything, And now she has this reputation
and this stigma, and again we know it, but when
you see it laid out that way, you see how
much it affected her and other people, and you're like, man,
this is terrible. Why do you think Mike Vic. By
the way, was he there to be like, hey, I
asked with some dogs, and you hate me and this
guy does all this Like what was the Oh, I
(17:15):
think it's the opposite. It's like here, I was the
most hated dude, and now people have accepted me and
I've moved forward, and you're gonna hate Brett Farv even
more than you hated me.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
He started the contribution as this is what it's like
being a quarterback in the South, a legendary quarterback.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Yeah. I think it was like you think when I
was bad. Wait till you get a load of this
guy as that Peter Griffy would say, and family guy,
you think that's bad ye?
Speaker 7 (17:40):
And Michael Vick said the system is rigged and so
you know, if you are Brett Fav you can get
away with some of that.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Okay, So now here's what I was also reminded of
your takeaways from the Fall of Farv, controversial Netflix documentary
number one Today. We told you to watch it last night.
Gave you a homework assignment. Now want to get to
your phone calls and feedback again. Completely Remember the gen
thing we sort of lived in spot was living with
(18:07):
her rich and her were together. She was a friend
of all of ours, and you know, still in contact today.
I totally forgot rich about other Jets employees coming out afterward,
other messuses and people saying that he was sending them
the same sort of mess my hotel and I'm horned up, honestly, Yeah,
(18:31):
I did forget about that. I completely forgot about that
part of the story, just you know, adding so much,
so much to what he was really about and got
away with it. That's the thing he was unscathed for
all these years. So your takeaways, we get to your
phone calls and feedback, and we're going to take you
(18:54):
back to the year two thousand, way back on a Wednesday,
time to mix. We're in the Eastern Conference finals. What
else is going on in the two thousand. We're gonna
take you back twenty five years and Mahomes has two
new weapons. If you haven't heard about this, we'll break
it down all coming up coming on Rich right here
on Fox Sports Radio now. From searching online to asking

but he went STP creep and I respect it like
(20:19):
I respect it. I could have gone TLC creep too. No,
save TLC for when we do.
Speaker 8 (20:26):
That's a different creep. That's like so I creep. Yeah,
I don't know, that's some kind of lingo.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
We talk about two thousand when we talk about yeah, yeah,
when we talk about the two thousands how about that.
So we're Cavino and Rich Iowa, Sam's on the Ones
and TUESDA Danny g super producing spot Sturger's X roommate
is getting ready for midweek major and we're Cavino and
Rich on Fox Sports Udio not to make light of
that terrible story. And you know, anyway, as we said,
(20:53):
Jen hopefully gets some redemption at it. I think she
will spot no jokes here, probably wanted one of the
first people to see the terrible text from far from
guess they were roommates. Okay, so here's a question that
we were asked earlier today on our Patreon. Did you
guys see the pick spot? Do you remember the first
time you saw the pick? I do?
Speaker 9 (21:14):
I for some for some reason, I remember, like I
don't know my space being of I don't know something
was Yeah, Yeah, so I did see the pick.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
I saw it. It was probably on a foot phone. Yeah,
I saw it on a phone like what crocs. And again,
the reality is it would have just been dirt bag
Hall of Famer sent our friend an inappropriate text, and
we kept that secret for like a year and a half,
right because it was no it was not our business
to share, right, it was a private story, and it
(21:43):
was that dead Spin guy that I think he's a
big part of what ruined Gen's life.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
He is And one thing you didn't point out rich
after he leaked at a lot of the narrative in
the media is why is she coming out with this now?
Speaker 1 (21:56):
She didn't come out exactly, but that was the narrative. Yeah,
hey again because she was a good looking girl and
we just had that way of thinking back then. It
was a different time and Brett Farv's a hero. How
dare you? So? What did you learn? What were your takeaways?
And of course we're giving away prizes on this show today,
so stick around. We're going to play some Mike's Wednesday
(22:17):
were as of Wisdom and week Major But right now
live from the Fox Sports Radio studio, what Up dB Not.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
To share stories, but I think that there's just something
that you guys said that you guys knew about this
for a year, and not that you never really thought
anything of it, But that also tells you. I think
that everybody here probably has a story about someone who
was famous through some connection of a family member or
yourself that makes you look at someone else in a
(22:45):
little different light than maybe what the general public does
for the famous person, no doubt, but that also then
tells you on to Jen Sturger's problem of how difficult
it is to shake that, or for Brett Favre to say,
what are you going to do about it?
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Like that's like that, it's that shield.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
Around this the famous person or abusive power.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
It's like Jet said, and that special like he was
a football god and she was a freelance worker for
the Jets. Leverage so much leverage. It was a different time.
It's sad to see and Dan speaking of that timeline,
I was reminded yesterday again I knew, but I forgot
that this all started to unfurl and unfold when he
(23:31):
was with the Vikings. That's when he was dodging those questions. Yes,
not when he was with Jets. The reality is, like
you said, the people that tell secrets. I've We've never
been the type of show that if we get wind
of something, we want to break salacious news. I feel
like that's scumbag behavior. I really it was. I'm not
gonna I won't even say the person on our show.
(23:52):
One time at Serious XM, we did a pre taped interview.
We interviewed a celebrity before our show, Famous Guy, Famous Guy,
and he friends his boyfriend, and Cavino chuckled, like he goes, oh, no.
I The guy was like, I'm gay. You know, I've
never actually said that, and then after the interview he
said he'd never been asked. Yeah, and he's like, I
was just he was very comfortable with us. After the interview,
(24:14):
his PR people said, hey, listen, you could do what
you want, but he would prefer if you don't wind
taking that little part out. It was not our place
to in my mind too about him.
Speaker 8 (24:24):
I love that because that's such an opposite of like
the tabloids like, can you guys.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Just to know what happened in this story? And with
that guy from dead to me, since the celebrity, you
guys are like, no, since we're good. This celebrity has
come out openly gay now, but we knew back in
the day. And again, I felt it would have been
a lay mass move to be like we're gonna be
the ones that out you. I feel like that's a
bad characteristic and we will never be those people.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
But I think the point, like I a buddy of
mine was at a college where an NFL team held
a training camp years ago and saw one of their
star players leave next door or at like two am,
where there was a house full of girls, and oh oh,
And so I've never looked at that player the same
because I know that story.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
I knew someone that but same thing. I knew the point,
Like I think everybody has those stories. I know someone again,
I won't call people, but I know someone that worked
for the Mets, and you know, I'm a big Mets fan.
There was a player that kept getting banged up with
injuries and I'm like, oh man, they can't shake this
hamstring thing. And someone said, well, if they weren't out
drinking and drugging until three in the morning, I'm like,
that's what they're doing, sure, And you know, in my mind,
(25:29):
they were just really trying to rehab that leg and
they're like, no, no, they party every night and they're
never gonna get better because they're just.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
And that guy was mister met But think about people
know that story and also didn't out it. Yeah, like
that's that's the crazy thing about it.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I know some people you could argue that having integrity
works against you in our world. I'd rather have it
so it's number one today the fall afar, wishing Jen
the best, wishing the Mississippi people the best. Yeah, And
that's the other part of the story. The guy ended
up with one point one million dollars to himself. Yeah,
to himself, not just the again, I was reminded of that.
Speaker 7 (26:07):
Well. Yeah, once he found out that he could get
that money, he went back for more.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
This was money that was supposed to be used for
the poorest of poor people in Mississippi, and these are
really poor people. And the majority of the money went
to his daughter's stupid volleyball stadium. And then one point
one million went to himself. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
They said a single mom with two kids in that
state at the time could get and this was just
a few years ago, could get what was it, three
hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
A month, Yeah, like sixty something something like that. Yeah,
but fares kid needs new nets on their volleyball. But
here's the thing, Rich, We remember the gist of it.
We remember like, yeah, yeah, the volleyball thing. One point
one in his own pocket, like he didn't have enough.
Speaker 7 (26:50):
The text messages where he was asking asking the politician
who helped him get the money, Yeah, can I get
caught doing this.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
By the way, the receipts were so key in this
documentary because if you had any speculation on Sturge or
or that story, it put it to rest. I promise
you the proof was there. I promise you this. If
your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend or someone goes, hey,
can I get caughtified? Do blank? They're about to do
some scandalous crap like that's just you don't say, can
(27:18):
I get caught doing this? You don't Are you a cop?
Are you a cop? I gotta asked first. You don't
preface that. Yeah, you don't preface that. If you talk
to a girl in Vegas and she goes, you're not
a cop? Are you you know what she's doing? I
mean people only ask if they could get in trouble
if they're doing something wrong. Let's wrap it up. Your
takeaways from this documentary, by the way, two good documentaries
(27:41):
this week, This one in Pee Wee Herman on Friday.
I can I'm excited for that for real. I can't wait.
That's on Max. But your phone calls now. To wrap
it up? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Let's
go to Miami. What's up, Miami? Seth, you're on a
convenio on writch.
Speaker 10 (27:53):
Thany guys that's going what's not for you?
Speaker 2 (27:56):
A little bit fire?
Speaker 10 (27:57):
Yeah, but look, I don't think it's farvist. I think
it's a societist and I think we all understand that, right,
you know. Yeah, when you think about your integrity and
your morals throughout, you know, we'll just keep it with
this country. I worked in a in an industry similar
to your guys industry where a lot of personalities, a
lot of talent has to have a little bit more besides,
(28:17):
you know, I know how right, So I'm not again
what happened to that woman is absolutely terrible and and yeah,
Bret Bark should held accountable, should you know? Obviously we
faced some criminalizations here, but in your guys' industry, and
we'll just speak within your guys entertainment industry. How much
does you know, especially from from the female mentality of
(28:39):
the female portion of.
Speaker 11 (28:40):
It, do you have to sacrifice knowing that you are
going to be able to make a little bit of
headway based off of your looks and things like that,
and knowing that we're hanging a caret we're essentially daily
carish in front of you know, uh, these savages. I mean,
we're all you know, we know, we're all man here.
We know how we can be. So just taking out men, now,
(29:00):
that is that is a layer of it.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Like Da even mentioned, like you know, when she was
working for the Jets, Like the guy was like security,
you're gonna throw her in the stands with a bunch
of savage fans Like yeah, let's said. It's just a
reminder to check yourself as a grown man. Like how
hard it is too. Its re matter of how hard
it is for women to deal in this boys club
of sports and broadcasting, but how far it's come too,
because when you look around now, there's nothing but beautiful
(29:23):
women hosting these shows and broadcasting in the world of sports.
And another thought I had Rich watching this and we'll
wrap it up with one more phone call though, was like,
you know, Jen is a person. She's not just a
picture or sexy beautiful woman that she described herself as
on the show. She's a person. And imagine her dad,
like we met her dad, we knew her dad. Imagine
(29:46):
your daughter, your kid who you love hits sort of
the life lottery and Musburger points her out and she
gets this great opportunity only to be ruined because some
guy decided to do that. Like just from a parental perspective, Yeah,
figure about rich you know, dating her and spot living
with it. Like from a parental perspective, how does his day?
His dad must want to karate karate bred Farber far
(30:09):
in the in the beanbag, Like that's his fury. Very
small beep. Yeah, you know it's as a dad. I
hear with Kavino saying, think about that, Danny, you got kids.
Imagine if you're one of eighty thousand people if your
kid's career got sidetracked because some pervy guy of power,
you'd be fear yea god. Yeah, all right, let's say
(30:29):
how to Deacon in Houston? Wrap this up and we'll
go to dB for an update. What's up, Deacon?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Hey, what's up? Fellas? What I love listening to the show.
I think Man far has been a jerk for a
long time and a lot of us have known it.
But I wanted what I want to do. I didn't
realize any about this Deadspin dude, this AJ guy. I
didn't realize any of that at the time. And what
I wanted to say, Man, how many times have we
seen in this new world somebody get canceled for something
(30:55):
they did ten, fifteen, twenty years ago. Bro, it's never
too late to hold to jerk accountable for ruining somebody's life.
And you guys have just the platform to do it.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Dude. If if there should be someone that is held
accountable now, Brett Favre and the a J dude from
Deadspin should be you know, it should be uh, you know,
held accountable. I was gonna say the worst, but they
should be held accountable.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
I would not were the career losses that she's taken
FARV should have to pay her.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
No doubt. And I think that if Deadspin wasn't already gone,
didn't they aren't they canceled because the whole cogin bred.
Speaker 8 (31:32):
No, that was Gawker, Uh, Deadspins still around. It just
got bought by different company and just doesn't have the
same profile. But I believe were you talking about when
Gawker released like a sex tape with yeah, yeah, you.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Know, you were also reminded of all those websites at
that time, in the only two thousands which she's talking
about my Space and all these other things that were
going on by the way that the two is it
me or the two thousands? Are they starting to feel
like more of a time capsule? You know when you
look when you look back now, you're like, oh, at
the time, you don't feel like it's much different than now,
And you're like, oh, look at the flip phones. And
then MySpace, we're going to take you back to the
(32:05):
year two thousand. Who was in your top eight? We're
gonna take you back today. We will go over that,
but let's go to dan buy for an update. Hey
d b dB, what's up, bud? Guys?
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Cam Ward wasn't born in the year two thousand. It
wasn't until May twenty fifth, two thousand and two that
the Titans quarterback was born. But today he signed his
rookie deal four years, forty eight point seven five million dollars,
fully guaranteed first overall.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Crazy put in perspective, because remember there were some mel
kiper that thought shad Or should have been the top
dog four years forty something versus four year four million.
He's a big difference.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
Yeah, the decibel point was moved from one spot to
the right for cam Ward. He signs his rookie deal today.
The big news in the NFL is that the Tush
Push is staying. Needing twenty four votes to get the
play band, twenty two owners voted to get rid of it.
That was not enough, so the play made famous by
the Eagles is going to stick around for another year.
(33:04):
As for the playoff receding for posal by the Lions,
there was no vote. Lions withdrew it. NFL Network says
that it could be back next season. Oklahoma City guard
Jay Gilgess Alexander is your MVP for the twenty twenty
four twenty twenty five season. That's according to a report
from ESPN. Tonight, Nixon Pacers played Game one of the
Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden at eight o'clock
(33:28):
Eastern time. Game one of the Western Conference Finals and
the Stanley Cup Playoffs is at eight Eastern time. Oilers
and Stars in Dallas, Let's get to some baseball. Pirates
beat the Reds three to one, raise doubled up the
Astros eight to four.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
The Orioles were eight four.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
Winners in Milwaukee at eleven, snapping an eight game slide
by the O's Tigers, stick two or three from the Cardinals,
winning five to one. Comes down the Marlins to one.
The Royals right now lead the Giants eight to two
in the seventh inning. Mariners were six to five winners
against the White Sox, and the Twins and Guardians are
playing in saggy afternoon in Minneapolis.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
The seventies.
Speaker 6 (34:03):
The Twins took the game that was resumed from Monday.
They won six to five in that contest. Right now,
the Guardians lead to one in the game that was
scheduled today. Guys, back to you, thank you, Dan, appreciate you.
Man Hey coming up a lot, so the get ready
for this. Mahomes got two new weapons.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
What are they? Well, we got Midweek Major with spot
Mike's words of wisdom. We're giving away prizes, so plenty
of reason to stop right here. Oh and we pay
tribute to the year two thousand. We're going to make
it snappy all coming up right here. Covino and Rich
Hey CNR on FSR nineteen ninety nine. Well, because in
(34:48):
the year two thousand everything changed. We survived the Y
two K and it was the last time the Knicks
were in the Eastern Conference finals. So we will reminisce
in just a little bit here on Coveno and Rich
Rich was a Snake champion on his no kophone. We
gotta go over this Cavino the tire Act play of
the day. Got it gotta go to Alex Caruso and
(35:10):
the Thunder. Thunder had another big game in the playoffs.
I was Sam, when you're ready, my man hit it.
Ruso seven to shoot. He does a angle aft three.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
It's tough head to train your Thunder moneyball and those
are finishing touches tonight, Baby Caruso, what's a kiss to
the crowd.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
The Thunder on their way to a game one win.
Oksee goes up one game to nothing over the t
Wolves in the Western Conference Finals. That's courtesy of w
WLS Thunder Radio Network, and that's our tire Act play
of the Day. For forty years, Tirerak has been helping
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive. Ship Fast and free back by free Road
has a protection and convenient insallation options like mobile tire installation,
(35:52):
tyrac dot com the way tire mind should be. Now,
before we get into the year two thousand, I love
I used to love that coning bit. In the year
two thousand, I was a big fan of the Max
Weinberg seven. We're gonna go back twenty five years. But
I want to know if anyone else listening, and I
know the answer is yes, are you part of the
(36:13):
lawn sign rage of the twenty twenties if your kid
makes an All Star team, a gymnastics travel thing, a
dance thing, the idea of like people showing up and
putting like the sign on your lawn. I see them everywhere,
and I'm coaching the kids All Star team this summer,
and they're like, you can pick up the jerseys and
the hats and the signs, like the signs. They go, yeah, yeah,
(36:36):
the lawn signs. And now that I pointed it out,
you're gonna drive around your neighborhood and if it's like
if little Tyler is on the ten you all Star team.
Part of that is a little lawn sign, like an
All Star lives here. You know what I have to
say about that? Tyler made the All Star team. Whoop, yay, yay.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
It's just like the bumper stickers saying your kids an
honorall stick But Danny wat your brag about it? Danny,
I have noticed it recently. No, I'm not saying it's cool.
I'm just saying, hey, you're gonna celebrate your kidding, no
shame in that whatever. I had noticed it.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
And then when they tell you about those balloon signs
that people do for like graduation stuff. No, but I'm
if people are way into the coaching scene and their
kids are doing travel and All Stars and all this,
they really do have like signs, like almost like political
signs you put in your lawn, like little Little Easton's
and All Star. I saw when that said Scott and
Cindy are getting married. Whoo whoop do All right, let's
(37:34):
go back to the year two thousand. There's a surgeon.
We go back Thursdays, back into time. Thursday's Thursday, Thursday,
Sam Sam, Sam, It's not Sursday.
Speaker 7 (37:54):
Today's Wednesday, Sam's. We're just lashing back because the Knicks
are in the Eastern Conference. Like, I know it's fifty after,
but I know I was totally thrown off.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
I don't know. I needed a minute to like collect myself.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
Way, Yeah, it's not Yeah, that's coming up on tomorrow's show,
So don't miss don't miss Covino and Rich tomorrow on
Thursday fifty after.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
You don't they call that in the broadcasting world. That's
a horizontal teas for what's coming up tomorrow. I was saying,
way to preview throwback Thursday segment tomorrow tomorrow, I throw
it back.
Speaker 8 (38:31):
You're screwing with me because it's like it's the day
is different, but everything else is the same.
Speaker 9 (38:35):
We try to stop you about ten times and we're
just going way back on a Wednesday, Sam, all right,
in the year two thousand, Yeah, can.
Speaker 7 (38:42):
You guys name of the two reality TV shows that
debuted in the year two thousand?
Speaker 1 (38:48):
Well, I know one of them. Let me tell you,
Danny g. This is a little unfair because you're talking
to Captain two thousand, So two k over there. You
know I'm the main voice on seriously, someone other than Rich.
Go ahead. And Rich still shops at Structure, so yeah,
he knows, he knows a lot about it. Rich still
gets his wardrobe from Aripistol, So yeah, we we know
Rich is the king Captain two thousand himself. One of
(39:08):
them is the Real World, right?
Speaker 2 (39:10):
No?
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Two other network shows or show wait no, but yeah,
these were the anniversary These were both on Big Network.
Survivor Yes, yes, yes, Survivor debut and by the way,
there's now been seven hundred and thirty three contestants in
forty eight seasons. What's the other one? Is the Osbourne's
one of them? No, nope, the other one brother. Oh
(39:33):
and you know what else? In the Golden Power of Veto,
I also correct in saying who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Speaker 9 (39:41):
That was late nineties. That was ninety nine, I believe
two thousand. It's not on my list, but it was
ninety nine, two thousand. All right, this movie just had
a launch. It was in the midst of an epic run.
Speaker 7 (39:53):
It was nominated for a whopping twelve Oscars at the
seventy third Academy Awards in the year two thousand. Yes,
and we we talked about this actor just last week
on our show.
Speaker 9 (40:03):
Not so Nicholas Cage. You know the other guy, Christian Bale.
It wasn't Batman.
Speaker 7 (40:07):
No, not Christian Bale. I'm sorry. I was getting confused
with Bail and this actor. Both both have stories about
getting hot on the set. I'll give you that clue.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Oh, Mel Gibson, No, we all need to mentally reset,
like I was, Sam, I know right now.
Speaker 7 (40:26):
All right, well, we'll tease it for the other side.
Because we're also going to do the music the Top
forty list. I think Rich will nail some of the
Top forty songs that were at the top of the charts.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
We'll do that next plus Mahomes New Presence and uh
hey Midweek major coming up.
