Antians, Pretzels or Wetzel That's all day, bro. Can I
give everyone a recommendation? I think I mentioned this already,
but if you need something to watch, Danny G. We
talked about it on Friday's weekend hob nobbing all our
favorite shows.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
We talked about friends and Neighbors, and there's all these.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Great shows out now. I watched a documentary History Channel.
Boy over here, Steve, could we know who? You always
see his stupid head talking on these things. I'm on
four series is four different series is? It's on the
History Show doesn't to be poor? I think so series is?
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, that's what it's. What do you want to do?
Ficies of Built America? What is it?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I'm on Icons that Built America. I'm on Toys that
Built America Season three and two more to come and
I can't tell you what they are coming soon. There
is one though, I want to recommend to all the
sports fans out there and Dan Byer, I feel like
this would be right up your alley, Danny G.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Your men of history, your men of knowledge. Maybe you two.
I would say, now it's the mega brands. Oh yeah,
mega brands, the.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Mega brands that built America. And there's an episode all
about Spalding and Wilson and dude, you don't realize how
innovative some of these men were in the early part
of the twentieth century, the late nineteenth century, where you know,
people were playing baseball in every game in every league,
had a different ball, a different size, a different weight.
They were playing bare handed. It was a weakness, like
(02:39):
you were a weenie if you were a glove. And
then Scalding. Spalding was so respected as a great athlete
that he came out there wearing gloves and people are like, well, Spalding,
it would be like if Votani came out wearing you
know something, people may say, well, if he does, it's
like when Ernie Peter's pants and Billy's like if he
and your pants was cool? Consider me, Miles Davis, Yeah,
same thing. It's like that because it was cool immediately
(03:01):
once it happened. And Spalding he was that good. I
don't want to give away the whole documentary, but Spaulding
then wore two like almost driving gloves that turned into
one with bigger fingers, and then who decided to connect
the fingers of the glove and make a pocket of
a baseball glove. I don't know these two brothers, the
Rawlings brothers, So honestly, if you're a sports fan, this
(03:22):
is right up your alley. And Wilson's involved. Enrique Wilson right,
Oh no, not former Utiliti infielder. He invented it tho
a meat factory who was trying to figure out what
to do with other parts of the animal or maybe
leather sporting goods. And let's just say the NFL and
(03:44):
the then AFL were using a rugby ball, and Wilson's like, listen,
I can make you throw this thing better.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I could reshape it. Trust me.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
I'm Wilson, and to this day, the Duke the Wilson
Football is the official NFL football. I only gave a
fun facts. I promise it's an hour of cool documentary knowledge.
And that's the I believe Mega Brands That Built America is.
It's a great series. I love the reenactments. I love
all those shows the Blank That Built America. They're all great.
The foods that built America. But which is right? The
(04:15):
mega brands won that one about sporting equipment.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I watched. I watched the Nacho, the natural Libre one. No.
I watched the Toastito paste salsa one. Once.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I thought that was that was fascinating because you realize that,
you know, a little white guys like me, hot sauce
was not a thing. And when they made salsa, they're like,
we need to make it bland, and like, yeah, but
bland sounds like a negative word.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
American taste buds were not ready for that. And now
we're a customer, we're used to it. So yeah, they
had a they had to prepare the bland taste buds
for what we love today. So think about that.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Mild was the word they came up with because they
couldn't say Americans were allergic to spicy. Well, they couldn't
be like, let's make it bland for the white guys.
So they're like, we lock were mild.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Mild.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
There you go, So these are all great things. That's
the mile Rich Davis was Sam's I mean, you got
to watch these things. I can't say basic or bland,
but there is the mild rich days. I'm sorry, I
missed the network or streaming service. What was it?
Speaker 1 (05:11):
History check? Okay, okay, So if.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
You got Hulu, I feel like I just look on
Hulu like on demand, and it's so good. He's not
lying the blank that built America. They're all great and
it's no commercial. I mean, I watch a bunch of
dumb stuff on every streaming service. But if you just
want something light in the background, learn a little something.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Mm hmm. So you're saying you're.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Mile Davis, Like if you're if that's what's cool, consider
me Mile Davis, Mi das Sam.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
I like it. So we're Cavino and Rich.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
We're gonna play some games this hour again, giveaway prizes,
like we said, Shack Diesel trivia, doing that to get
you fired up for the NBA playoffs. But something we've
been meaning to get to. And it feels like these
stories keep piling up in the past few weeks. So
perfect timing. Now covering for somebody in a big moment.
Do you have a story of your own? I'd love
to hear about it. Did you Wally Pip the person
(06:01):
I want to hear I want to know the story.
Did you Drew Bledsoe the moment, did you step up
and Tom Brady the moment, would it be a Tom Brady, No,
it would be drew Bledsoe.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Well, here's the thing. If they always called it a
Wally Pip, wouldn't it be drew Bledsoe? And it would
be a drew Bledsoe.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
So the times you had to cover for somebody in
a big moment because these are frantic situations, but could
read the fine who you are and could be a
big moment for you depending on the story in the
moment right. Most recently, Dennis Scott because the technical difficulties,
(06:38):
had a cover for Spirodd's and Candice Parker. So they
were having and he's what like a color commentator, he's
usually down sideline, dude, and they were having technical difficulties,
so he had to do the play by play and
step up off. And by the way, you may think, oh,
he's a broadcaster and he's he's former player, but I'll
(07:01):
tell you what, these are separate skills.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
It's like it's like asking an outfielder to play second base,
you know what I mean, Like it's just not something
that you do.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Rich and I are on the air every day just
for fun one time.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
We try to do baseball play by play and we
could pretend all day and.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
We watch baseball.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
It's not it's not easy to do that if that's
not your skill. It's like us trying to do what
Dan Bayer does as an anchor. You know, that's not
something that we do. It's a different skill set.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
He had to start, he had to start reading off
the teleprompter, and then he jumped into the play by play.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Dude, that's scary, especially when you're not used to that.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
And we've seen so many moments.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Right a dance job, I'd sart it every time by
going it's up day time.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'd have a whole gimmick. The start is the easy fire.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
You gotta time that out.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
I feel like at the end Rich would go whoa,
I'd go semi.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
That music would make me when Dan Byer goes, I'm
Dan Bayer dun dun dun dun like, and that hits perfectly.
That's a skill, right, it's not eveny skills. So you
may think to yourself, like a big deal. He had
to do the play by play. He's a basketball guy.
If that's not what you do, and if you've never
done it on a big stage like that. You know,
that's like you again playing a position or doing something
(08:13):
you've never done before. They're oh man, So Dennis Scott
stepped up for Spiro DUT's kandas Parker Tech difficulties in
an NBA playoff game. Big moment. Now, just this weekend,
Kentucky derby Mike Turrico apparently had a penat allergy. Yeah,
bad reaction to it and I don't know that could
(08:37):
be severe. I don't know how bad it was. But
because of that, Ahmed Faried had a step in.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
So Tarriko tweeted that he was okay, he lived through it,
but he said he was grateful to the broadcast team
for stepping up for him.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
So think about that.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
You know, these are great opportunities, unfortunate for them, but
opportunities are knocking for these other people. And I think
everybody has a moment, or could think of a sports
moment maybe where hey, that guy wasn't ready, but he
had to get in there and do his thing and
he had to step up. And you know what, it
was a big moment for that guy. My career have
a stupid, stupid story, but it gave me the chops
(09:16):
and understanding of Okay, well, I guess I could do.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
This coming up in radio.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I remember I was at Jones Beach, New York, great
concert venue, outdoor venue, and it was for I don't know,
like a this big festival concert that Kay Rock New
York was broadcasting from right, And this sounds stupid now,
but back then it was a big deal. Booker who's
(09:45):
an iHeartRadio host Chris Booker was supposed to interview Collective Soul?
So this is like the late nineteen hundreds, right, but again,
Collective Soul not the biggest fan in the world.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
But a Shine is a good song. Love that song?
Are you kidding me? The world? I know? Make you cry? Right?
December hit me up with some motive in mind? Contagious
has it the guy?
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Right, So they had a bunch of hits heavy, let's
gel so, but Shine is a good one. And for
whatever reason, Chris Booker is stuck in traffic. I'm like,
oh man, I was the only idiot there first, to
be their last to leave when you're coming up, right,
that's just the role you played.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I'm hanging up banners.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Not the only guy there.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Bull was like, yeah, this is your time stay. You
got to interview Collective Soul. I mean again, looking back,
it's Collective Soul whatever. We've done this a million times.
But when I'm a young kid and I'm buying their CDs,
They're the biggest thing in the world to me, right, it's.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
The world I know, and I'm like, oh man.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I remember just being so nervous, but I had to
do it, and I had to step up and fill
in for Booker and it was just on those recording
It wasn't a live broadcast, but I had to step
up with the Moran system, as Danny g probably remembers.
You remember those like handheld recording devices, and you had
to be so careful and certain that you were recording
it and the levels were right, and just pray that
it came out okay. And I'm recording and I did
(11:08):
that interview with Collective Soul, and I was just like
barely twenty man if that. And I just remember at
the time I had to step up because he was
late or didn't show up or was sick or whatever
the case was. And for me at the time, it
showed that I'll step up if needed, and I can
handle these things. I mean, I sucked, but I still
did it and it showed me that, Yeah, man, maybe
(11:30):
I can do this.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
In the future. Who knows.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
And that's happened twice in the broadcasting world in the
last week. So just in the last week, just coincidentally,
you know, those times you covered and you know, maybe
got an opportunity. I have an example for like every
part of life, it happened to me in sports too,
I got more st I have a sports example because
he's a cy Young Award winner, a guy that we
think of as one of the most dominant pictures of
(11:53):
our generation. Jacob Degram got called up as a spot starter,
was a minor league shortstop who was transitioning to pitcher. Yeah,
and you think about if the gram has a bad start,
what do they do? Yeah, go back to the miners
(12:13):
and see what happens. Jacob de Gram took that and
ran with it and became a generational pitcher. Oh yeah, again,
that's stepping up in the moment, you know, taking that moment,
And that's what we're talking about, the times you had
to cover for somebody.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
How about this one. It could have been a nightmare.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Let's go back roughly, you know, forty to fifty years
LA Lakers Jack McKinney gets in a bicycle crash.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
We saw it on Winning Time.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Pat Riley was, you know, a young hungry assistant that
gave pat Riley his way in the door and never
looked back. In fact, the team was then given to him.
Do you have a personal story, Rich? I do, but
it's a really corny one, though, I want to hear it.
That's I mean, you're the corniest guy now, Son Brand,
as far as I'm concerned. Let's hear it, all right, Well,
(13:07):
it's a really corny example, guest for real, like like corny.
Like it makes sense because it reminded me that I
don't really I don't get scared at broadcasts or anything
like that. I don't think like my collective soul story
was the coolest compared to the story.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
I can't wait. Let's hear it. So I was in
a school play my senior year. Why are you laughing
at the start of the story.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Because he's probably like the fill in for little Orphananni.
That's when Rich saying tomorrow and everybody cried. They gave
him a standing.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Up and the rest is history. Now, the night of
the performance the hard knock life for me.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
So it's a corny play too. Anything Goes, Okay. I
was in the Broadway show Anything Goes as a senior
in high school. And the girl it was the opposite
lead of me. I was the lead guy. She was
the you know, the the actress. She had like a
laryngitis anxiety attack combination where a concert we had a
(14:12):
duet and as corny as is, like I would sing
a line, she would sing a line.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
I would sing a line, she would sing a line.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
And that was like the that was like the main
song and Anything Goes. She gives me a look like
my voice is gone. So right there on the song,
instinctively I look down and you know, like the pit
conductor for the band looks up at me and just
points at me. And for the rest of the song,
I sang my part and her part and made it
(14:39):
seem like it was just my song.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
And at that moment, I'm like, I think I could
be a professional broadcaster. Wow. And then for the following show,
for the encore later on, Rich painted one side like
a woman and he would just flip side and again
he won a high school acting award. Wow, dude, That's.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
A pretty cool story though, because that happened like live
in the moment, She's like, I can't sing. She tried
to get the first line of oh that is yeah,
that's a matter of nerves and yeah, and I was
just like all right, and I just started singing her word.
Step you know again, you see this in real sports
all the time, in real life all the time. We
have two stories in the past few weeks that were
(15:19):
sharing with you times you had to step up in
those moments, and you know there nerve wracking. Sometimes you deliver,
sometimes you don't. But if you don't, were you really
expected to anyway, right, So it might be a little embarrassing,
you know, it wasn't on you. I have a good
fictional one. But it's a great example of this. I
actually liked your story, by the way, it's just corny
because yeah, it's high school. I got a high school
one too. We all watched I mean, I don't know
(15:41):
if you did. We talked about friends earlier. How I
Met Your Mother was one of my favorite shows in
the two thousands, and there was an episode where Robin
Schabotsky played by Kolby Smoulders. Robin is a news anchor
on the local like Channel one local news. It was
a big New Year's Eve event, and you know the
funny guy that's like the sexual harassing balls she had
(16:03):
Samby Rivers on New Year's Eve, the big ball drop broadcast.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
He dips away to get with some.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Woman and like someone's on in five four three and
she grabbed the mic and that was like her big break.
So it's like, you know a lot of times, you know,
you gotta take that moment and run with it. A
la Tom Brady, a la you know, lou Garrit, lou
Gary Golla, Me and the Broadway Show. These are all
great moments and shake de gram. I mean, how many
(16:30):
times do you see dude? We're talking about him during
the commercial break in the hallway, Me and Big Brandon here,
both Niners fans. Brock Purdy could very well be a
backup quarterback, maybe not even the league, making seven eight
hundred thousand dollars as a backup, maybe a million. Jimmy
g goes down before that Trey Lance doesn't work out.
Brock Purty seized his moment more than anyone else I
(16:52):
could even think of him the last five years. The
guy's gonna end up making over fifty million dollars a
year because he was given an opportunity and he was ready.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
That's great. Yeah, he might be like the greatest answer
of that since Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
I know that sounds crazy because he hasn't accomplished that much,
but Rich is right. He would have been just a
regular quarterback.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Mister.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
No one talked about irrelevant man, barely getting by talk
about he would have been forgotten. We're talking about shad
Or Sanders in the fifth round. And I was like,
oh my god, brock Purdy was the last chosen in
the draft, last person chosen, Like, all right, and the
draft is wrap it up? Who's funny? Mister irrelevant brock Purdy,
he didn't think it was that funny. He got a chance,
(17:34):
and you know what he was probably thinking. He had
faith in himself and said, if I ever get a chance, man,
I'm gonna show them what I got. Even as you said,
they would always talk about in practice, guys like Fred
Warner and respected defenders would say, when.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
This kid gets a chance, you see he wants it.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
There was an American League Legion championship game I was in,
and it was from thirteen to sixteen the team I
was on and the sixteen world All State All American
I'm not exaggerating, Like All American All State athlete that
I played with. You're probably on the thirteen year old
team as a six year old. You're like Daniel Monte. Yeah, no,
(18:10):
I I was thirteen, right, And the guy pitching the
championship game was the guy you had all the confidence
in the world in, like, oh man, he's pitching. He's
no longer alive unfortunately, you know, but shout out to him.
But he's pitching the championship game. And he comes out
and like the second inning with like elbow flare up.
It's like the No, it was like the first inning,
(18:30):
second first inning, and they're like, Covino, I'm thirteen year
old kid. I'm like, I'm pitching the championship game. Had
no I was not expecting that dude pitched it won it.
And again that's just one goofy little story that happens
time and time again, over and over and over. But
again the times you had to step up.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
In life and.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Deliver hit us up at Covino and Rich at Fox
Sports Radio, and now, well, you know, I thought it
one more I'm sorry, just one more quickie because it
doesn't always work out. I just want to give you
the flip side. We're talking about the people where you
get an opportunity it doesn't work out. You know who
we always forget who unfortunately, the spots starter that gives
up six runs in the first inning, the backup not
(19:13):
always a good the backup quarterback who throws three picks
and it is like, all right, he's never going to
get another chance. The NBA, you know, player that gets
a shot in the G League to be on the squad,
plays the thirteen minutes, you know, turns the ball over.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
And gets no points.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
So I don't want to bring up weird memories, but
I heard of broadcast recently where some guy was like,
you can't be broadcasting here, and an anchor that works
here had to take over the broadcast like mid broadcast.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
It was pretty sweet, you know.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
It was a pretty sweet transition, like almost like flawless
scene in the middle of an interview, in the middle
of an interview too.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
And that guy is still at the anchor desk to
this day after that's and I'm looking at this guy
right now. He hit a great job. Not all heroes
wear capes. I know, but again that's like stepping up.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
You see these things happen, And that's what happened twice
in the past few weeks again and Dennis Scott and
what was it again for I'm in for Reid. You
know what, backup quarterbacks in college A lot of times
someone goes down and you hope that maybe that guy
has his opportunity. You see it at Alabama all the
time because they have but you know, they're pretty deep.
Next guy up gets a chance, whether it's young or
(20:16):
before that too. You know, it's always a guy that's
getting a shot. I always think back to that one
Bowl game and I don't know why I'm drawing a
blank Texas quarterback who got injured on the first game
of the night, first play of the National Championship.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
McCoy.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Now, whoever the backup was, we forget because that guy
had an opportunity to be Like, it's a National championship
Colt McCoy gets injured on the first series. I'm in
but he wasn't. And we don't even know who it is.
You know why, we don't know because they stunk in
the game. Was out it Garrett Gilbert Gary Gilberts to.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Him, they actually made it competitive and then they and
then Alabama pulled away.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
Yeah, well it's finally so many moments as someone gets
sick thirty seven to twenty one.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Yeah, so again, your stories, your examples, hit us up
at coven O and Rich Fox Sports Radio right now,
ask you guys to call at eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox if you want to play Shack Diesel
Trivia again. NBA Playoffs heating up. We're gonna do some
multiple choice questions. Your chance to win a swiggy with
the swaggy are stainless steel water bottle the Midnight.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Black addition, so it's a real nice water bottle. Your
chance to win.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
It's multiple choice, real fun to play, real easy and
again Shack Whack Diesel will be here next eight seven
to seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Who want to play? Right now?
Speaker 2 (21:33):
It's playoff time and if you're just watching the games,
you're missing out to pick six from DraftKings. You can
turn your hoops knowledge into some real cash. Just make
your picks, track your score and if you hit all six,
you're looking at bigger payouts than price pick flex plays.
Now let me give you a couple of players I
want to see. I'm gonna let Cavino build a little,
a little pick six. Here a couple examples. Jimmy Butler
(21:55):
twenty two and a half. Are you going over under?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Aug Can I gotta go over? So you're going over on?
Jimmy off? Jimmy? Yeah? What about Haliburton eighteen and a half?
You know why?
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Because Jimmy's playing Man Halliburton Haliburton eighteen and a half.
Is his dad gonna be there?
Speaker 1 (22:11):
He is not. I'll go under just to yeah, mix
it up. This is how you do. You pick your
over Alison under now you get six.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
If you hit six picks, that's twenty five times your cash,
and if you beat your competition, you could be looking

Remember I dancing with the jav Walks. Remember the time
I had a step off a fight Sugar Shane Mosley,
you remember that?
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Remember all those times you had to step up to
the free throw line?
Speaker 5 (26:13):
Remember the time? Yeah, remember all those times? Miss those
What did you think of home Grin? Missing those two
big shots last night.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Were very reminiscent of my days left to make up
forward in game two.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
I'll tell you what Shack, four time NBA champs, the
three people with the Lakers, and then you know, I
Shack was that Miami heat one just as nice because
you know you got that branch away?
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Absolutely absolutely game I got time, noise.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Let's meet the contestants. Ten time winner Rich Davis right
up there. Spotty's out until tomorrow, so.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Who needs them?
Speaker 5 (26:48):
The leader in the clubhouse to the right of me,
thirteen time winner Dan Byer.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Hello, Happy Ana Roser, Thank you you can Shack. I

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Let's see in our stainless steels, go something tonight on

a living? There?
Speaker 7 (27:15):
I we're over at coffee?
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Go nice man? All right? By the way, you know
what the hot item is at Costco? Chicken bake. No,
not the Chicken bank the uh.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
I feel like every little kids team in sports has
that speaker when you walk in, that like weather proof
speaker for all the announcements seventy nine bucks, I thank you.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
All right.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Here here are the rules for Shack Diesel trivia. The
first contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If
there's a tie, we have a tie breaker to question
five time, Champ four. Fourth time, your name is your buzzer.
But you do have to wait until all three possible
answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row,
we move on to the next question. Are you ready?
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Let's go. Let's get it on.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
All right, let's get this big Aristotle party started. Which
player was the first to win to NBA Final MVP Awards?
Was it A Willis? Was it b Wilt Chamberlain or
was it C. Larry Bird?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Which player was the first to win to NBA Finals MVPs.
I'm giving Austin a chance to chime in. Austin, are
you going to do nothing to lose? Austin?
Speaker 7 (28:17):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Be b Wilt Chamberlain. No, Rich Rich for the steal
Willis Reid, Yes, sir, that's correct. Nineteen seventy nineteen seventy
three with the Knicks. Yep, by the way, they got
a shot. Nick's looking good. Rich on the board. So
far as we go to round two.
Speaker 7 (28:35):
Round two? What was I once quoted saying about leadership? Hey,
when I noticed my teammates going through the motions, I
slammed them awake with a monster dunk. B our coach
will yell until his voice is gone. I just shoot
my guys a look and they know I mean business
or C. Generals don't panic, then the troops never panic.
(28:59):
What did I say about.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
Leadership, Damn buyer, I'm gonna say, b nos.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Austin for the steel.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yeah, see yes, sir.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Generals don't panic, Then the troops never panic that.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
I just couldn't think that Shack or Danny g would
make up that quote.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Shack had such a hard time reading I have something
in my head.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Dan Rich and Austin both on the board as we
moved around.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Hold on, didn't Shack also say a go with the
general and save some time?
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Hey? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Okay, all right? Just checking round three?
Speaker 7 (29:40):
Now, which former NBA player has the highest career free
throw percentage? Is a Mark Price, B Steve Nash or
c Rick Barry.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Austin Austin.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Steve Nash, Yes, but Austin. It walks away with a
C N R swiggy Steve Nash. He also gets shoutouts
from who.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Steve Nash gets aho oh that's a good russure eminem no.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Steve, oh no, I forget. But she got a big dumper.
What's her name? You know the girl she sings there
it is, shouts out Steve, then shotover from the line.
You know what's so funny? I was so sure of myself.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
And by the way, King grats Austin, you got that
swiggy with the swaggy when you were saying that question, Shack,
I wrote down before you even give.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
The answers, that wrote down Mark Price.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
I was for certain because don't you remember when we
were kids, like that was the one thing he was
known for, Like free throws.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
That was Steve nash highest care free throw.
Speaker 7 (30:50):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Kind of the opposite of me. But thank you, guys.
I have to work tonight. I have things to do.
It's always fun.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Well to specify to for former players, because obviously Steph
Curry is tops.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
On that list. Thanks. It'd be realistic, guys. I'm not
saying any of us, Shack baby, just later be realist, realistic.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
None of us here play pick up basketball like we're
Jason McIntyre from The Herd. None of us are coach
Gottlieb that have you know, constantly on the court with
their their team. If I gave you one hundred free throws, yeah,
but I played. If I give you a hundred free
throws and you put money on the line, like money
on the line, what would you guess would be your
(31:39):
percentage out of one hundred shots free throw?
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Bike? Do we get any practice or warm up or
is this coming off?
Speaker 2 (31:45):
You could warm up If I said, Danny, you can
warm up right now. We start at four o'clock Pacific,
Like twenty minutes of warm up. You can shoot around, dribble,
get some water, whatever you need to do. But I said,
in twenty minutes right now, I'm gonna give you one
hundred free throws. You could take a couple breaks. They
don't need to be all in a row. Give an hour,
take one hundred free throws? How many are you hitting?
I would do it for fun, but how many things
(32:07):
you're getting?
Speaker 5 (32:09):
I would say we'd be lucky to get forty out
of the hunt.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Danny's correct, I'm thinking over sixty because once you get
in rhythm, once you find out really mean rhythm is
gonna get.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
I think in our heads we think we could get sixty,
but realistically forty.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Really.
Speaker 8 (32:22):
I don't remember when in the season it was, but
I distinctly remember at one point in high school I
saw my stats and I was a fifty seven percent
free throw shooter. Oh really, yeah, I and I felt
I was but I was good? Yeah, Like no, I
didn't think I was good. I was just appalled at
how bad that it was. I'm like, wow, I'm that
only fifty seven percent?
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah, I you know, dB.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
I was going to say I would be very impressed myself,
and I consider myself a pretty athletic, active guy, right,
I would say I'd be impressed if I could hit
fifty percent, because Steve.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Nash ninety percent. That is pretty sweet.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I think you're It's like, what of those things where
the average idiot things they could do more than they
can athletically, which is why they have shows like remember
Pros Versus Joe's Petros was the host of that.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I don't know. It's a good question.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
In fact, I feel like, if we're bored one day,
why don't we take the physical challenge? Go across the street?
Twenty four hour fitness shoot some out of one hundred.
I would do it for the fun of it, just
to answer the question. Let's let's take the physical challenge.
Who would come in last place? VJ Husky spot?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
VJ. Husky would come in the last place. He'd like, Ah,
my muscles are hurting. Ah, I told you, I told you.
I told you my muscles hurt. You would get tired.
The only reason I lost because my muscles are too big.
I think Vj's hooper, Guys Hayton, Vj's hooping way more
often than we think. I think I'd probably be the
one who'd end up in last really, Yeah, come on.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Sam, you tell let's do it one day. Let's do it,
you know again? Props to Steve Nash ninety percent? And
what is Steph Curry currently?
Speaker 1 (33:57):
Do you know? Ninety one? Wow? Man, that is crazy.
We're running late. Sorry, dB, I know you hate when
we run label I do.
Speaker 8 (34:04):
I do, especially when I've got big news that I've
been sitting on for about ten minutes. The Cavaliers are
without Evan Mobley, DeAndre Hunter, and Darius Garland for tonight's
Game two against the Pacers, all dealing with injuries. Garland
didn't play in Game one, hasn't played for a couple
of games because of a toe injury. Mobley and Hunter
suffered their injuries in that Game one loss on Sunday
(34:24):
out tonight against the Pacers Game tips at the top
of the hour. Pacers up one zero in the series.

Western Conference. Looking ahead to tomorrow, Celtics say christophs Porzingis
is probable to play against the Knicks in Game two,
despite an illness that forced him to leave last night's
Game one. As for Sam Houser, the forward suffered an
(34:47):
ankle injury yesterday, He's doubtful to play tomorrow. Thunder GM
Sam Presty named the NBA's Executive of the Year. While
Kentucky Derby winners Sovereignty will not run in the Preakness
Stakes in less than two weeks, trainer Bill Motts is
the plan is for the horse to run the Belmont
Stakes in early June. Intern Milan top de FC Barcelona
seven to six on aggregate to advance to the Champions
(35:07):
League Final. Intern Milan tied the match with the goal
in stoppage time, and then added a goal in extra
time to win the semi final. University of Florida gave
men's basketball coach Todd Golden a six year extent here
worth forty and a half million dollars, I should say
a month after winning the national championship when they topped
Houston in that championship game, Brown's rookie quarterback shud Or

Sanders wearing number twelve, dling Gabriel is going to don

Dame in Clemson agreeing to a twelve year scheduling deal
where the schools will play every year starting in twenty

Speaker 2 (36:04):

Nash shout out in Promiscuous Girl Nelly for Tato fun fact.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
I've know comno for a long ass time.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah, when this song came out, we were friends and
we were probably at a bar talking to some random
girls or something, and you thought this song was mysterious
girl or mystery Girl, mystery girl.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Mistery girl singing. I was like, dude, what are you singing?
He goes mystery girl like mystery girl, misster girl. Who yeah, whoever?
He was a mystery It makes sense. But uh, here's
a fun fact.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Timbaland went to high school with not only Missy Elliott,
but he went to high school with Pharrell Williams. You
gotta watch the piece by piece Documentary's fantastic fun for
the whole family. Piece by piece the story Forrell Williams
told in lego for him. Can you name those three names?
I went to high school again, Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Farrell Williams.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
I went to high with no one cool.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Yeah, I mean, dannyd Did you go to high school
with anyone of that caliber?
Speaker 1 (37:05):
No?
Speaker 5 (37:06):
After I graduated, Colin Kaepernick came around, but yeah, yeah,
not while I was at my high school.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Well, we're live from the Fox Sports Radio studio, Cavino
and Rich remember the stream Oars show all the shows
on Fox Sports Radio Live twenty four to seven on
the new and improved iHeartRadio app. Search Fox Sports Radio
in the app and you could preset us number one,
just like you do on your radio again, Covino and
Rich because we can't live without our radio radio. Speaking
of preset Fox Sports Radio, one of the other shows
(37:34):
we're very friendly with, great guys Kelvin and Rob Parker.
Loved their odd couple great guys. I want to settle
a debate. I'm sure they may tell you about this
on their show at some point. Kelvin put on Instagram
story settle a debate. Do adults eat cereal with milk
on a daily basis? How often? And the options were
yes all the time, some days rarely? Or what am
(37:57):
I a kid? I saw this rarely for me. However,
I'm a former cereal killer when I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
That's all I ate.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Don't tell my mom that though, she's offended. So there's
a couple questions here. Number one, what are the foods
that were out of your life for decades? Then you
have kids and it reenters because that's cereal for me,
like I probably went twenty years of my life probably
from twenty to forty without cereal and then now your
kids are in the Mixuggies come back. Yeah, like fruit
roll ups are in my pantry. You're eating gushers again.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Yeah, So I'm gonna go.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
I'll rare on occasion, maybe a late night edible or
I from just got the munchies or something. I'll pour
a ball of cereal. If you had to give me
your go to cereal like my one to live on.
I'm I'm so torn because my debate, my inner debate,
is fruity pebbles or Cinnamona's crunch and I can't decide.
But hold on, here's my question. Is it without any repercussion?
(38:51):
Like I could just eat them for those of my
life and no calories. It's like when you go It's
like when you go to I had to stay healthy
out to pick the lame choice when I when I
when were my wife and I are like a bakery.
I always say, look in the bakery thing. If calories
didn't matter, what would you house right now? So it's
the easiest question again formerc I'm like the dexter of cereal.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
I house this. I'm a serial killer.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
My answer is coco pebbles number one all day, eat
it by the box because it always came in as
like slightly smaller box.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
I would eat them at a box.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
A sitting, so you cause you get that chocolate delicious
milk at the end.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Coco pebbles my answer number one on the board. I
mean I would.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
I would argue that cocoa and fruity pebbles are equally good.
See but to me they taste like tricks a little
bit fruity pebbles. I don't not like fruity pebbles, but
Coco pebbles is my answer. I'd say Cocoa puffs is
right up there.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
You're the puff kind of guy. Huh.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
For Coco puff, I would say, I'm with your go
to sugary terrible for your cereal.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
This is gonna sound lame, but my favorite cereal is
rice checks, which is like people make checks mixed race
checks with like two percent milk.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
To me, it's just something satisfying. We used to put
spoonfuls of sugar on top of that cereal.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Family cheerios or rice krispies like plain seal cinnamon likeny nuts.
My family we ate bootyos Brood frosted flakes was a
go to too when we were kids.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
But I mean, I feel like I'm the only one
that even brought up cinnamon toast crunch? Is this not?
You know? Crunch is good? Yeah, we have that in
our pantry right now, cinnamon toes. It's gonna be calling
Danny's name late tonight. Like you know, I eat the
healthy granola cereal. I'll tell you what.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
My favorite sugar is a special K with the chocolate
and strawberries special.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
It's like a divorced mom's favorite cereal. That's it. That
is a good one. That's funny like that one. But yeah,
my answer Coco pebbles. What's your answer? And why?
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Because they post this Calvin post. Yes, I would say
cereal for an adult like once a week. My dude,
Calvin K dub live on Instagram. Vote for yourself. Are
good friends at the Odd Couple who are on Fox
Sports Radio right after us. But I'm gonna go some days.
I'm gonna vote some days remember that variety pack yees.
Some days because you little rugrats.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
And Rob Parker loves to save money, I think that
he would probably get corn flakes and put his own
sugar on top of the.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Parker Guypool Jacks Wait is Rob, the type of guy
that buys the store brand like I like tasty os,
not not cheeryos, tasty, tastey.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
We'll see you guys tomorrow there baby, see you in
the Promised Land. Let it, guys,
