Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's a Herd. Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox
in for Colin. We will be taking you all the
way up until three pm Eastern time, noon Pacific. You
can hear LeVar and I and Brady Quinn on two
Pros and a Cup of Joe throughout the course of
the week Monday through Friday, six am Eastern Time. You know,
a little grab ass to get your morning started in

(00:46):
the world of sports and beyond. So we'll be there
tomorrow morning as well too. But we are talking about
college football. We're talking about the NFL. We've got the
Peach Bowl, which is kicking off here in just a
few moments from now between Arizona State and between the
Arizona State sun Devils and the Texas Longhorns. There our

(01:06):
guy Pete Prisco, who joins us throughout the course of
the week. He's already sent out a tweet he is there.
He actually made it out for that game, a proud
Arizona State alum. So we will keep you posting on
that throughout the course of the show. Maybe the Sun
Devils will keep it close there and make that a
game with Cam Scataboo, who's a beast. But it feels
like he's going to have much a similar task that

(01:27):
Ashton Genty had last night to where he's got to
try and potentially carry that team if they want to
have any success against Texas. So again, we'll keep you
updated on that throughout the course of the show. The
other running back in the news is Saquon Barkley, and
Saquon Barkley has got an opportunity. He's one hundred and
one yard shy of breaking the all time single season

(01:49):
rushing record, and so the big discussion is, well, Philly's
got nothing to play for. They're taking on his former team,
the Awful Giants this week, and if Philly's got nothing
to play for, why would you risk throwing Saquon Barkley
out there to get injured. You'd rather have him for
the postseason, even though he's got an opportunity to chase history.
Nick Sirianni, the head coach of the Eagles, spoke about

(02:12):
his decision and thought process going into the decision yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I'll talk to our staff, I'll talk to the players,
I'll talk to Howie, you know, I'll talk to mister Lourie.
I'll talk to everybody and to try to make sure
I'm making the best decision for the football team. And
that's your job as a head coach. Well, you know,
I'm gonna always do what's best for the team and
the individuals going for that. And I'm still thinking through
a little bit of this too, but something I haven't

(02:38):
told the guys yet, so I'll always let them know
before I let anybody else take into a lot to account. Again,
it's what's the best thing for the team, and then
also what's the best for the individuals that are going
for the record. You know, if you'd think back a
couple of years ago to twenty twenty one, Smitty was
going for the rookie receiving record. I think he was
going to break to Sean Jackson's rookie receiving record and

(02:58):
everybody else was resting. But we wanted for everyone else,
whatever it was, we didn't. We didn't play some other
guys in that game. We went and got him that record.
Every situation is a little different, not saying one way
or the other how that's going to play out, or
even that I've made a decision yet. But again, I
got to tell the guys first when I when I
do come to that decision, and I'll let you guys know,
but a lot goes into.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
It, all right, So Lebar, you have a gift, all right. Now,
you just here, you're able to hear what a coach
is saying, but really translate what he's saying or get
a feeling for what way they're siding with if sar
as a decision goes and then making a decision. So
you hear Nick Sirianni on w IP and Philly yesterday
talk like that, how do you think this thing goes?

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Well? I think there's two ways I interpreted it, two ways, Jonas.
I think the first one that I took from it
is because you don't what do you need to talk
to all those people about, Like if the man wants
to go out there and play, and you know what
he's going out there to play for what's all the

(04:02):
goes into it and all this and that and the other.
So there's that. So I kind of took it as
he's talking to all of them because he's going to
play them and he don't want to lose his ass
if you know, if Saquon is something were to happen
to Saquon in that game or two, you know, or

(04:23):
option number two. The way I took it was I'm
not playing them, and I don't care if you know,
or I shouldn't say I don't care. I want to
be clear that we're on the same page that I mean,
how important is this record because here's the thing. We're
looking at this as an individual record, but you got
to keep in mind that goes down in the record

(04:45):
book for the Eagles too, you know, and that adds
to the history for the Eagles. The Eagles will now
be able to boast having the single season leader in
rushing yards, right, So there is more to it than
just the individual Yeah. So I think that those are
the two ways of looking at it is. I don't

(05:06):
want to get in trouble if I put him in
there and he gets hurt, Like it's like, sign me off.
Sign off on that.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
So going into hearing those comments and following those comments,
my thought was I leaned towards he was going to play,
but I looked at it and said I wouldn't do it,
But it felt like that's maybe where he was leaning.
Nick Sirianni just spoke with reporters in Philly a couple
of moments ago, and they have made the decision to

(05:36):
rest Saquon Barkley and other starters. And this is my
thought on it.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
That is crazy. Well, I think that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I think the only way So the quote from Nick
Sirianni is this, it's a very special record that's been
standing for a very long time by a great player.
But you try to do what's best for the team.
When the buye was how guys are feeling when the
buye was gone, How guys are feeling. Our goals are
to have success and play good the next game we play.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
So that's yeah, that's a that's a bunch of crap
like that To me, I don't buy that at all.
That like that man ran for the amount of yards
that he's ran for and to be in position to
take down one of the greatest running backs of all time,
who Dick one of the greatest feats of all time

(06:21):
in putting that record in place where it has not
been It has not been broken, it has not been broken.
And this man is one hundred yards away from doing it,
and it's to rest him for the playoffs. I don't
I mean, you play the game, you play the game,

(06:43):
you know what, So aren't they going Let me ask
you this, Let me ask you this, this last game
of the year. Does does Philly get a bye week?
They got to play right away?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
And they're not going to be a one seed. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
And that's and that's why I go going into it.
I thought, Look, if they would have had a bye week,
I could understand them playing him because hey, listen, we're
getting next week to rest. Anyways, let's do it. But
my thought, if I was, you know, before hearing the
Nick Sirianni's comments from yesterday, I started to lean towards man.
I think they're going to end up playing him. When
you hear his comments today, after they make the official

(07:19):
announcement that they're not going to play Saquon Barkley and
Chase the record and they're going to rest starters, I
got a feeling they wouldn't have done this unless.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
I'm with you on that, because I can, I can,
I can, I can bat.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Ask because there was a point so he was miked up,
But why I put him?

Speaker 5 (07:38):
And he said the record didn't matter too well, so listen.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Earlier this year there was a point where he was
on the sideline and there was an opportunity for him
to break a record of some sorts to go back
into the game, and they asked, hey, what do you
want to do. It's up to you. It's your call.
And Saquon Barkley, because he's such a great guy, and
you know this, obviously him being Penn State alum, he
made the call that listen, let other guys get some
burn time. I don't need to go back in. So

(08:01):
I don't think that they make this call unless he
gives them his blessing and the okay.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
I just don't like it. I don't like it. I
don't like it. I don't like for him to have
to be put in a position where that's just like
him being a good guy can ultimately sometimes that can
work against you, and that might sound selfish, and that
might sound like you know, you know, I don't know
what it sounds like, but I don't like it. You're

(08:27):
that close to it. You're a professional. It's the game,
it's the season, and you work towards things like you
work towards greatness. You work towards immortality because you know
the moment you're not playing that game anymore, you start

(08:47):
to see and feel your mortality. You're not an immortal anymore.
And now you start down a different road in your
life when you have the opportunity and the ability to
be able to do things like break records of the
greatest of the greats. So you're telling me, they would
look they would rest Lebron James if Lebron James had

(09:08):
the opportunity to break a record from Michael Jordan or
or any of the other greats. You know, when he
broke Kareem abdul Jabbar's record, stuff like that, you're gonna
rest him like that? To me, that's an overstated that's
an overstated cop out. If you ask me like resting,
you're in season. Aren't you preparing for a season? When

(09:32):
you're preparing for the season, you're not preparing for every
game that you're gonna play and possibly play in the playoffs.
All right, he's not. I mean, he's not crazy old.
I know he's had injuries, and I'm sure you take
that into consideration. It's just he'll he probably will never
come this close to that record again. He'll probably never

(09:54):
come that close to this record again. And it's oh,
he's a nice guy, so go ahead rest him because
he's not going to care or that record. Well, maybe
it'll matter to his kids, maybe it'll matter to his grandkids.
You know how much that record matters to Eric Dickerson.
He don't want nobody to break that record. And he'll

(10:14):
let you know that is a that is a serious feat.
And people say, oh, well he played more games, Well
you know the record that he broke. O. J. Simpson
played less games too, So I don't care about the
whole idea that, well, Saquan is doing it in more

(10:34):
games than what Eric Dickerson did.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I don't care you didn't like what that was my excuse, couple.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
It doesn't matter. I don't care he broke somebody's record
that didn't play as many games as Eric Dickerson did.
But you know what, Eric Dickerson went and broke that record.
I can't remember a whole lot of things about Eric
Dickerson's career by detail. Right, when you think about people
that have played the game, you can't remember for a

(11:00):
lot of things that they've done by detail. You know
what you can remember records, You can remember records. There's
certain things you can remember, man, but you don't remember everything.
You get an opportunity to etch your name in the
record books as such, the highest level of competition, and
you're you're saying, oh, well, we're gonna rest them for

(11:22):
the playoffs. I don't I don't buy that. That's not
a decision I would have made. If I'm like, let's
get this man that record, Like I'm the coach, let's
get him, Let's get him that record. And if I'm
the old line, I'm sitting there and I got snot bubbles,
and I got saliva coming out of my mouth. Oh kay,
let's get it. I'm foaming at the mouth. Let's get

(11:43):
him that record. Because you know what, that's the offensive
lines record just as much as it is Saquon's records.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Here's what's weird about just and this is why I
think that Saquon was obviously heavily involved in this, and
he was a decision maker if Jeffrey Laurie and how
are you Roseman and all these guys in Philadelphia at
the front office said no, no, no, we don't want him playing.
And you had all these teammates being like Saquan, it's
not worth it. And then they go to Saquon Barkley
afterwards say, hey, your thoughts. We don't think it's a

(12:11):
good idea. No, I want to play, Like Nick Sirianni's
not going to go against everybody in the organization and
or and and let Sequon play and he's not going
to divide and create this divide when there's already been
stories about a divide that's there between Siriani and their
coaches and Sirianni and Hurts and aj Brown, Like, to me,

(12:32):
this is pretty cut and dry. They went to Saquon
Barklay and said, what do you think if he would
have put up any fight whatsoever. I don't think they
would have gone against him. I just I feel like
he was heavily involved in the call. I don't think
I think he's earned it.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
I don't think you do it. I think you say
we're going to get that, Like if I'm Nick Sirianni,
We're going to get this record. You're playing against your
former team. They discarded you, through you in the trash
of sorts, not worth it, and they did that as
on hard Knocks. Everybody in the world saw it. You
get to go break that record. You get to go
break that record against the former team that didn't want

(13:10):
you in the same conference, say the same division. I
don't like it. I say, let's go get it. Let's
go get it. And then you take that type of
momentum you got. You got an early gift in your season.
You're going for the super Bowl. But you got an
early gift in your season. You're not getting the number
one seed. So if you're not getting the number one seed,

(13:30):
get this momentum. Let's let's carry that momentum into the
into the playoffs. Our offensive line are some dogs, so
let's go out here and be dogs again and carry
this into the playoffs. And oh, by the way, we're
gonna make history, every last one of us. We're gonna
make history. You know what, I didn't get two hundred

(13:51):
sacks in my in my career, but you know who did,
Bruce Smith, You know who was right there in the picture.
Go look at the picture. Go look at the picture.
I'm gonna be right there in the picture. I'm gonna
be right there. That wasn't just Bruce Smith's record. That
was not just Bruce Smith's that was not just his record.
I was right there with him.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
He ran it.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
You're like, guys, we did it.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
We did it free. Now you got that, man, I
was all I was grabbing him and hugging him. I
knew that camera was out, and I knew I was apart.
I might have only been a part of hey, hey, Jonas,
I might have only been a part of twenty of
them two hundred, but you know what, I was a
part of the last twenty. I was a part of
the last twenty bit. And I'm gonna have my moment.

(14:41):
We broke that record. I tell Bruce that every time
I see Bruce, like, hey man, we give each other
a big husd. We broke that record, did we? Bruce? Pray?
Pray pray for why? Oh? I used to tell Lot
that's Madden, that's going on.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
When when Brady and I were doing this Sunday night
show together, so I said, Brady, between you and I,
we threw ninety five touchdowns in college. You know, like
I used to claim that all the time, like I'm
a part of that's part of this.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
With them.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, it counts his mind. I mean like you guys
are first round draft picks.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Me too.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
No, you're not my ass. Check the show.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
You're part of this, I am. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
So again that's the that's the latest. It felt like
Nick Sirianni, speaking yesterday, was going to make the call
to let Saquon play, but as it turns out, he
spoke with reporters a short time ago and no Saquon
Barkley or other starters in the finale against the Giants
coming up this weekend, so the record is safe. I
also wanted this, if Saquon had broken the record in

(15:47):
seventeen games, would Eric Dickerson, much like Mark Gastino, have
accosted him at a at an autograph signing years later
for a faulty record? If that was the case, no.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Good man, come on that, Which is funny. That's a
funny just because he really did. He really did want
to get at Brett Fahr for that one man. And
and you know what THEMB records be, mattering man, that
would be you know, records matter.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
You know, it would be the ultimate move by the Giants.
If say Saquon Barkley was, you know, twenty yard shy of.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
The record, just let him get it, oh man.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Because then he would feel guilty about getting it, because
be like, oh, this is not right. But the Giants
could be like, you know what, Michael Strahan got a
gift from Brett Farve years ago. We're gonna go ahead
and give you a gift. And then it would put
it put a stain on the record completely, and then
everybody would be like, what was the point?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
You know, that's to me, that's where it gets confusing,
you know, not not any other way. I mean, Brett
Farv took a fall, he took a daft. I mean,
everybody's seen it. He took a daft. That might have
been the worst way to break a record I've ever
seen in my entire life. But you know what it happened. Yeah,
and you know that's a record. It's a record. Mark

(16:59):
gass Knew wanted to tear Brett Farre's head off his neck.
And you know what, and maybe rightfully so, do you
know what he did?

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Does he go after TJ Wat TJ Watt tie the record?
I mean, come on, man, all.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
I'm gonna say. All I'm gonna say is all I'm
gonna say is that was a dave. But here's the thing.
If you're resting starters and you're saying, I'm resting starters
because this is what we're doing, I mean, I get it.
I just feel like, why wouldn't you play them long
enough to get to the hundred? Do you got to
play four quarters to get to the hundred? I mean,

(17:33):
but I mean maybe maybe maybe reassess it reevaluated at
at halftime, like where's he at? He might have ripped
off a fifty yard or forty yard or sixty yard
or you never know. I just think it's crazy, mean
to be that close to history and not go get it.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
If that was Dan Campbell, he would have had SA
on special teams too, Like, listen, you go over the record,
you're gonna hurt it, buddy. Hey, hey, you're on kickoff.
Have fun out there. Yeah, so listen.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Disappointing, but I'm disappointed, but you know, but hey, there's
the there's a little bit.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Of breaking news here on the Herd with LeVar Arrington
and Jonas Knox. Nick Sirianni makes the announcement it's official,
no Saquon Barkley in the final game of the season
trying to break the all time rushing record. It is
The Herd here on FSR again, LeVar Jonas in for Colin.
Here coming up next on Fox Sports Radio, though apparently
we've got a little bit more insight as to what

(18:32):
the future looks like for one of the all time
greats at quarterback. That's yours right here on FSR.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon Eastern non a em Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
It's The Herd, Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox
in for Colin. We are going to get to this
latest story involving a team in the NFL that's got
a lot of stories that have come out this year,
but we may now have at least a little bit
of an indication as to whether or not they're going
to go in one direction as far as parting ways
with this player after the season. So we'll have that

(19:09):
for you coming up here in just a couple of
moments from now. An update on the big story that
is currently going on, which was the tragedy in New Orleans.
There was a suspect who drove a truck into the
crowd there. Obviously people there in New Orleans celebrating New
Year's Eve, also getting ready for the Sugar Bowl, which

(19:30):
will be taking place there later on tonight. And reportedly
there is some thought and there's a report out there
from WDSU in New Orleans that they may be postponing
the Sugar Bowl twenty four hours, So we may not
actually get the Sugar Bowl later on tonight. It may
be tomorrow. Again, we're waiting on a second confirmation of that,

(19:53):
but that is at least what the initial report from
WDSU is saying that they are investigating it as a
terrorist attack. And uh, before you know, they feel comfortable
playing the game, they want to make sure everybody is
safe and all parties involved are not in any danger.
And so the thought is they may be moving it
to tomorrow or the bar. So, uh, that's at least
the initial.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Safety first, safety first, you know, and all the people
that were impacted by affected, you know, by what took place. Uh,
thoughts and prayers obviously, and positive thoughts to them and
everyone involved. Just that's it's unfortunate that there's such evil
that exists in in our in our world, but nonetheless

(20:36):
it does exist, and proper protocols and proper precautionary actions.
I I agree with that. I think that that makes
sense here. I think that that that's right. And and
you you know, you want to make sure that again,
whoever was impacted, do we have like the you know,

(20:58):
do we have any more inform on like the level
of injuries that took place.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Dozens injured. I've seen ten deaths. I've also seen the well,
yeah it's bad.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Yeah, that's that's just that's yeah, that's that's that's that's
that's horrific. Where you don't, you know, how do you
celebrate a game? You know, how can you properly celebrate
a game?

Speaker 3 (21:26):
It's so quick after man?

Speaker 5 (21:29):
Yeah, right right, So I think they got it right.
I think it makes sense to postponent for now, you know,
even if it's just for you know, the day, to
make sure that, like I said, protocols wise, everything is
handled the way that it's handled and done the way
it needs to be done. I think that that's the
right the right move. And and you know what, like

(21:49):
these these teams are going to have to you know,
figure out how to you know, kind of pot down
a little bit, but be able to ramp back up
to get going for the game when the game, you know,
is played, so you know, things happen. You got to
be able to adapt and adjust to the moving variable

(22:09):
sometimes and sometimes it's out of our control as to
why you have to be able to adapt and adjusting.
And in this case, it's so sad and upsetting to
hear something like this take place. Why would why would
you do it? Like I just don't what are you
thinking about? What did you what are you what are
you trying to prove? What are you feeling after you

(22:31):
did it? Like it really was?

Speaker 2 (22:33):
It?

Speaker 5 (22:33):
Is it that bad? Is whatever going on that bad
where you have to impact other people's lives that way?
It's just I don't I don't understand it. But you
know what thoughts in prayers, like I said to the families.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Yeah, and again, if we get confirmation it does appear
like that's where it's heading that the sugar Bowl will
be postponed twenty four hours. If we get another confirmation
on that, we'll have that for you throughout the course
of the show. It is the herd here on Fox
Sports Radio. Elsewhere in college football, Texas is up seven
to three in the Peach Bowl over Arizona State. So
the Longhorns have just scored eight minutes and change left

(23:07):
to go in the opening quarter there. We'll have updates
on that throughout the course of the show. Also, in
about fifteen minutes from now, a little over fifteen minutes
from now, apparently an NFL team is making a decision
that's going to piss off their fan base. Apparently that'll
be yours here a little over fifteen minutes from now.
So we do have another update on your favorite team,

(23:27):
the New York Jets of Bar and Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Oh wow, that's wonderful.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Courtesy of Stadium. Sources say that, barring an unforeseen change,
the Jets are expected to move on from both Aaron
Rodgers and wide receiver DeVante Adams this offseason. Source tells
us the relationship hold lot.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
I'm sorry, I'll track, go ahead, go it old, got it.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Damn thank does. Source tells us that the relationship between
Woody Johnson, the owner and Rogers is irreparable. That, of course,
on the heels of Woody Johnson throwing out there that
you know, maybe they should have benched Rogers earlier in
the season. And Rogers, you know, although I will say

(24:17):
he was he has been pretty patient as far as
discussing Woody Johnson, but did sort of call out, you know,
I think there needs to be you know, some patients
from ownership as well in the NFL, just in general,
which everyone perceived is him taking a shot at Woody Johnson.
Now as somebody who was featured in episode three of
Enigma starring Aaron Rodgers on on Netflix. I support Aaron

(24:40):
Rodgers and whatever his decision is, I hope he gets
touched down five hundred this weekend, and I hope he
leaves the New York Jets and realizes, you know what,
it wasn't all that bad in Green Bay, you know,
really wasn't all that bad, and him and DeVante Adams
end up somewhere. I'll say this, DeVante Adams is still
playing at a high level. Like there's been some miscommunication
with Rogers on the field that you've seen, but when

(25:02):
he's playing, like against Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago,
he lit them up. So I don't have any thoughts
about DeVante Adam's future. I think there's going to be
a place for him in the NFL. I'm just wondering
what the hell happens with Rogers after this year, because
it felt like was heading that he wasn't going to.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Be back in New York. Probably call it, I don't know,
probably call it today. I don't know. I don't know.
You know. This is what I do know is that
whatever it is that he did, he needs to make
amends for it, and in Green Bay so he could

(25:40):
go back home and be celebrated at the end of
the day, right because it's it's it's a rap like
wherever he goes. I don't even know how much it like,
how much does that how much does he have left
in him to be able to impact his his career?
You know? I mean maybe he can go Is there
a team out there that he could actually go to

(26:03):
that would be good enough for him to kind of,
you know, redeem himself within his career? You know, I
would say, no, I don't think that that exists. I
don't think that team is out there. I don't think
that team exists.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
It wasn't supposed to be what the Jets were.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
That was what the Jets were supposed to be. Yeah,
that was what they were supposed to be, so and
that is not what they ended up being. And and
you know what, I don't know. I don't know that
you get the opportunity with the reputation that you have,
which is kind of sad, right because you think about it.
I mean, he has been a brilliant football player throughout

(26:42):
his career, But you got to think about the idea
that you know, a lot of the drama that played
out in Green Bay was associated and attached purely to
Aaron Rodgers. So now you see it taking place and
a whole nother environment. Why would you bring why would

(27:05):
you take a risk on bringing him into your organization
knowing that everywhere he's been he's generated this constant media
attention that's driven by drama. I just don't see that
being a good decision for an organization to make on
at a player that's at the juncture in his career

(27:27):
that Aaron Rodgers is in. So if you're asking me
what's next, he might not be he might not be touchable.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I think he walks. I think if he gets the
five hundred touchdown and it's two DeVante Adams, I think
he looks at that as you know what, I wanted
to try and win another Super Bowl. It didn't happen.
The injury came up, the season hasn't gone how he
thought it was going to go. But I got to
finish my career playing with my best friend, and I
got to throw my five hundred touchdown pass to my

(27:57):
best friend. I'm good, good, and I think he walks away.
I don't think he plays again.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
I gotta be honest with you, though. I think Davante
Adams is impacted by this as well, because of the
way things played out in Las Vegas. Like you drama
your way up out of there.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
But you don't think that he had a little bit
of an argument there because what he signed.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
That no quarterback, Well, yeah, I get it.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
He signed up for I want. I'm gonna play with
Derek Carr, who's another good friend of his, And I
felt like, I, you know, we were, we had this
plan in place, and then all of a sudden, cargets
bench before the season's even over, they bring in Josh McDaniels.
That's a disaster. All that played out like it feels
like what Davante Adams went to Vegas for. They didn't

(28:41):
provide on their end, and that's why he looked at it.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
I will say he was let down in that way.
I will agree with that. But while I will agree
with that, he now still becomes like a de facto
basically like a journeyman like overnight. If you think about it,
I mean, he'll be going to his his third team,
yeah right, well, I mean this will be his fourth team.

(29:06):
This will be his fourth team, h third team after
leaving leaving the Packers. I mean, I just I don't
I don't think that that bodes well. I mean, you know,
different different positions have different reputation kind of implications connected
to him, and maybe he goes somewhere else and he's

(29:27):
able to have the type of season that he's in,
you know that he's been trying to have. But I
don't think that. I don't think that this boat well,
it bodes well or plays out well for him either.
I mean, it's possible that it could work against him
if you ask me. So, you know, I don't know,
but I don't find that, just as like I didn't

(29:50):
find the first breaking news piece of news on Cayle
Shanahan and and and John Lynch to be a surprise
this This one also is not of a surprise to
me that it's.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Because I'm thinking it's because I just look at like like,
what are the options? You know, like, if you like,
the only option would be And Rogers has been open
to this, like, look, I'm totally okay with being a
mentor in a mentor role to a younger quarterback that
gets drafted. That's why when he has said, like, I
love New York, I just built a place out here.

(30:26):
I love Manhattan all that. Man, the Giants isn't the
worst idea in the world. If they draft a quarterback
and they feel like, look, let's have a veteran here
and somebody that we you wouldn't bring in Rogers to
be the mentor. So that really he's not going to
have the guy.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
No, you do not know what you're going to get,
all right, I do not know what type of confusion
that is going to be generated because there's going to
be an agenda connected to Aaron Rodgers wherever it is
he's at. Let me, that's not necessarily I'm not going
to put that necessarily all on him. I think that
the media plays a lot into that as well.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Do you are you worried, And I want you just
be honest here, Okay, just be honest. Are you worried that,
let's say, for example, total hypothetical, cam Ward is the
quarterback with the Giants, they draft him, he ends up
being the guy there? Are you worried that if Aaron
Rodgers is his mentor with the Giants, the cam Ward
is going to be found riding on top of a

(31:26):
camel in a desert somewhere, smoking weed out of a
ukulele or something like that.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
What I'm worried about it, I'm going to say, I'm
going to say yes for the sake of laughing at it, like, yes,
that will that will concern me, that that that becomes
something he wants to do and prioritize with his time. No, seriously,
uh I don't. I don't. First off, I don't think
these these you would have to find the right quarterback

(31:54):
for Aaron Rodgers to be able to to mentor a
lot of the these guys they already have their mentors.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Who think a lot of them are.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
A lot of them already have their mentors man, and
and you know what, they're not really like that whole
idea of how it works with the whole respect thing,
and I know who you are and this, that and
the other, and you know this is how it's going
to work out. And blase bla, like those days are
kind of gone. Man like, like these new age athletes

(32:28):
they like be like, I don't care that you're Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Really, oh yeah, damn, oh.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
Yeah, I don't care. I don't care. Like that's not
that's what that's not what my concern is. And you
come in with those strong personalities and these guys have
already been already been handled in a way where you
know they're doing things at a high level. I mean,
like think about this, like guys like myself. I trained

(32:55):
guys from the time y're in the eighth grade. You know,
I meant them and talk to them from the time
they're in the eighth grade until they go to the pros.
You know, you have guys like TJ. You know, Hushman Zada.
You know you have these former you got these former
pros that be out here, you know, mentoring and teaching

(33:17):
these kids and you know whatever it is that they're into,
and they already have a developed sense of identity and
self by the time they get to the pro level.
So I think that's a little bit overstated at this
point too, to say, oh, well, we're going to bring
Aaron Rodgers in to be a you know, to be

(33:38):
to be a mentor to him, Like I don't. I'm
sure a guy like camp or or Shador Sanders or
whatever whoever it would be, I'm sure they'd be like, yeah, now,
I'm good, Like I got my mentors, Like, hey, bruh,
you just worry about making sure that my bag gets
to my to the to the bus and to my
room and make sure that I have a coffee when

(34:00):
I get to the meeting in the morning. That's what
you could do for me.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Aaron Rodgers, Hey, come on, Cam, you don't want to
microdose with me. Come on, come on, you played in Miami.
Let's go by the way. So lead to Lap sent
me a text that they are the college Football Playoff
and Sugar Bowl officials are in a meeting with the
FBI right now just discussing the status of the Sugar Bowl.

(34:24):
But there is a thought that they are still strongly
considering postponing. At twenty four hours some reports have said
that that is the case, but we are waiting for
official confirmation. On that that that is the status as
far as what could take place following the tragedy overnight
there in New Orleans. So again, keep you posting on that.
As soon as long as information comes in, we'll have

(34:45):
that for you here. Also update on the Peach Bowl,
Texas as a rolling over. Yeah, Texas as a fourteen
to three lead over Arizona State. Arizona State went up
by a field goal early Texas scored and then a
punt retur for a touchdown for the Longhorns, and so
they now have the ball back there with five minutes

(35:05):
and change left to go in the first quarter. It

Speaker 3 (36:16):
I mean, who needs Jason McIntyre or Ryan Music when
you've got lead to lab for the herd Line News? Lee,
what's happening?

Speaker 5 (36:22):
Hey guys?

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Let you know Steelers? Hey, thank you very much?

Speaker 5 (36:28):
Right?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Was that Vanilla Sky? One of the great scenes of
all time? You imagine walking into a bathroom and some
guy looks like his neck is melting, and some a
hole behind him says, hey, dude, fix your f and face. Alrighty,

(36:53):
what do we got guys?

Speaker 6 (36:54):
The Steelers were reportedly told yesterday that they will be
hosting an international game next year in Dublin, Ireland, and
the thought is that they will be hosting.

Speaker 5 (37:03):
The Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Oh yeah, Russell Russell O Wilson.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
What do you think about Wilson?

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah, what do you?

Speaker 5 (37:10):
Well, you know that I believe the Ruins are like
ambassadors to Ireland something to that effect.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
They've been pushing for this, like they because I think
the last game in Ireland was a preseason game. I
think it was Steelers Bears. Was it ninety eight? Do
I have that correct? It was back in the nineties. Uh, yeah,
I think ninety eight is correct. Yeah, around that time.
And I like they did a huge number. So you
know that does that does make sense? But maybe they're

(37:39):
losing a home game. You know, there's probably people that
are like, dude, I mean, we don't want to have
to shell out all that cash to fly over to Ireland.
Can we just go down and go to you know?

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Accupunty and Steller fans aren't looking at it that way.
They just gonna roll. Still. One thing about Steeler fans,
they just they just gonna roll.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Man.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
It is wild, but it doesn't matter where you are
in the country. There's a Steelers bar somewhere everywhere.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Literally.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
I was really about to say, we're everywhere, But you know,
I don't know that's weird.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
What do you mean?

Speaker 5 (38:12):
I am a tremendously big Steeler fan.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Yeah, what's wrong with that?

Speaker 5 (38:15):
You know?

Speaker 3 (38:16):
I don't know, could be worse.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
I just I just think it's weird when fans say
us like, you know, like you know, we won. I
don't know, it's like weird to me.

Speaker 6 (38:26):
Yeah, us Packers, we you know own the it's weird
Packers owner here speaking.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
And you know who ruined it for me, Dallas fans.
They ruined it for me, like because they'll talk to
you like they play for the team, like literally like
you were about to go up against them when you
play against the Dallas Cowboys. So thank you to the
Dallas fans for ruining it, you know, saying us and
me and we and my you know, as it applies

(38:51):
to the teams.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
That I love as uh, you know, they got they
got it.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
We ain't not winning yet.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
The you know, fate. Fate had some payback for the
Dallas Cowboys. It was called no Super Bowl since ninety six,
So you're all right there, you know, by the way,
thirty years you know, you know, it's still my favorite
stat about the Cowboys is like the Jaguars and Jets
are the laughing stocks of the league. They've been to

(39:22):
a conference championship game more recently than the Cowboys have.
Like that, that's one of my favorite stats about the
Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
You know what one of my favorite teams it is
right now about America's team is that they realize they
are not going to win no Super Bowl, and so
they let let one of their players go to try
to go find one.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Yeah, what's your what's your problem for? Fet No?

Speaker 7 (39:43):
I just I always love, you know, as a Lions fan,
I used to love people bringing up, you know, the
nineteen nineteen nineties NFC championships between the Cowboys and the Lions.
It's like one team became the nineties team and the other,
you know, bombed out and somehow we flip that script.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Well listen, well you haven't.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
Totally flipped the script my guy day.

Speaker 7 (40:03):
I know, but I'm saying I'm super Bowl talking about
conference championship here as lines did make one, I don't
remember what else happened after that.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Although although if you listen to if you listening to
Rob Parker, they're not gonna do anything with Dan Gamble
as the coach.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
Stop. Why is he not like Dan Campbell.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
He's been trying to fire him since like the mid
twenty twenty two, and that's exactly when the Lions started
winning a whole bunch of games.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
I always I always tell uh something to tease Rob.
I'll say, listen, if that was Jim Calledwell making those decisions,
you wouldn't complain at all, because you.

Speaker 5 (40:38):
Know why that? Wow? You know why why is that?

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Races?

Speaker 5 (40:46):
Lay?

Speaker 3 (40:46):
What else we got, guys?

Speaker 6 (40:47):
We talked a lot about the MVP race between Josh
Allen and Lamar Jackson. Well, Joe Burrow was asked about
the chance from his fans, saying MVP MVP, but he said,
you know what, gotta win the division.

Speaker 5 (40:58):
First, you get the MVP chances went him off the field.
I did, what were your thoughts, I'll win one one day?
You feel like this is this year your under Now
I doubt it? Wow mm hmm. Usually you gotta win
your division.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
He's so cocky, but it's great, like, yeah, I'm gonna
win one one day yeah, I'm not worried about that.
You know, it just won't be this year, by the
way they get to the playoffs. Who the hell wonts
Cincinnati in the playoffs right now? With Joe Burrow slanging it,
just think about that var.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Get that work. Let's let's take a break, man, Let's
let's redo this thing.
