Speaker 2 (01:02):
Once you watch over promised our video podcast, you'll say
to yourself, why is this not a TV show every day?
And I feel like it should be pretty soon. Yeah,
from your lips to God's Ears. Rich Oh, before we
get back to the NBA, could I bring up one
more thing?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
And don't worry.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's not about Love is Blind or it's not about
the trailer I saw for Temptation Island, the hot he's
on that. By the way, you love trash TV, man,
you love it? I think I just like you love.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Trash TV eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
By the way, if you want to get lined up
to play a game, quote me gonna win a CNR
Swiggy Before we get back to the NBA, I just
want to say, if one more person sends me the
video of Juan Soto missing a fly ball in right field,
it's spring training. I don't care. He's gonna be awesome.
I'm a Mets fan, don't get matters. Don't give me
(01:55):
this BS you want him to dive against the wall.
As a Yankees fan, Jason Dominguez stinks in the outfield.
I don't think he's gonna magically become great once the
season starts. So don't expect lone from Mono As a
defensive player. Do you think I want Wan Soto diving
against what you're saying it doesn't matter. It does matter.
I think a lot of those things do matter. I
know this preseason, but it's not like I said, he's
(02:17):
gonna turn it on all of a sudden. He's great
spring training last year. You know who had the worst record,
one of the worst records, A team called the Dodgers
and another team called the Yankees. Spring training means nothing.
Someone else hit me up saying it means that baseball's
around the corner. We're twenty days away.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
What it means to me? Some ahole hit me up.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
He's like, yo, look at Soto, he stinks and Edwin
Diaz got rocked. I'm like again, throwing know Edwin Diaz
the Mets closer, break out the timmy trumpets. What if
he's just working on like a secondary pitch. It's spring training.
Stop it, Manzi.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
You gotta at least agree with that. No matters a little.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
It is just spring training.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Come on, the matter is very minimal.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
I agree, animal, My dumb friends Saki's are getting closer
to getting your boy and Glaciers for third base because
dj Lim Mayhew can't not ever be injured.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
That dude is forever. He saw with the Padres though,
so a minor league deal.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It seems oh really, I heard as of when a
couple of days ago. Yeah, remember I said your OMG signs.
Uh yeah, I must have saw an old TikTok video
because this was like ago. That's right now because I
remember saying it.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Well, hey, back to the NBA.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
The intensity for the Lakers Nicks last night had a
playoff atmosphere, and it got us thinking that is this
that are the Lakers now in a position where when
Luca and Lebron have clicked that they.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Now feel as though they're the team to beat?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Or do you say, listen, okay, see ga Lebron's shoulders anymore?
And you're seeing that, you know he has someone else
that he trusts, and both of these dudes make other
players on the team better. And you saw that with
Gay Vincent hitting a key shot yesterday. You know, Danny
G's believing in his boy Hayes now and you were
talking about him, Danny G.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
I didn't believe you.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
But what's the minute thing you're saying when he plays
more than twenty minutes?
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Good?
Speaker 4 (04:08):
The Lakers are now thirteen and one, when Jackson Hayes
has been in the lineup for twenty minutes or longer.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
And we were saying, you know, you need a big guy, Danny,
You're like, no, man, you got Jackson Harries.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
He's good.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
A d was really impatient with Hayes's development because obviously
Anthony Davis does not like to play the center position.
He said that, yeah, and so when the Lakers wanted
him to play the center position, He's like, no, no, no,
no either trade for and he said out loud, we
need to trade for a center. And Jackson Hayes was
over here like, dude, I'm on the team. So now
(04:39):
with ad gone, Jackson Hayes has stepped.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Up, stepped up eight points.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
But Luca thirty two points, Lebron thirty one points, just
jumping again a game that.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Goes to overtime like that. That was so fun to
see last night.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
But even like I said, Jalen Bronson, you know he
was trying so hard to eve to finish out that
team his and that wasn't some bs wimpy injury.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
His ankle rolled ever seen an ankle go all the
way to the floor like that? And he got up
and hit the free throws and he wanted to stay.
You could see him so badly. He was trying to
walk it off and the trainer went to Rubbie. You
saw him like, no, no, don't even touch it.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, I mean he.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Did walk off. They just show him walking, so that
was a good sign. But no, he rolled it on
all kinds of ways.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, but major, major win last night for the Lakers.
You're seeing them again, Jello. It just the right time.
It's exciting. Not all games that exciting, but it's nice
to see. And then the other side story is the
whole confrontation, Oh, between Lebron and steven A.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
He looked at me as a father, not as me
as a father.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
And I understand, I mean the fact that that's a story, like,
I get it.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I mean, steven A, if you don't.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Know what we're talking about, was confronted by Lebron craught
off guard said if you could do your best job, boy.
It was something along the lines of leave my son
out of this. S as if there's to say that,
you know, if you're gonna take shots at me, don't
bring my son into this. But I'm very surprised that
Stephen A didn't say as a broadcaster and as I
(06:13):
got to cover the NBA, it's my job, it's his
job to cover anyone in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
And maybe he went a little too far. That's up
for debate.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
But I think he has every right to have an
opinion on a man, a young man, but still a
man that's on the Lakers. So you know lebron a
little bit. But luckily Steven A had Larry David as
so backup.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Muscle bro. You took the words right out of my mouth.
I was gonna say the funniest takeaway I had. I
was there with Larry David.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I'm picturing after my back I picture afterwards Larry being
like what was that.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
He came to he's working.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I could only picture it like if it were a
curb episode, like what would he say? It's really even
a conversation of you know, Stephen about this star. Stephen
A probably loves every second of this, but he's also
torn because I'm sure he does feel a little bad.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
He is a father and he understands.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
But but Bronnie hasn't been like nobody's talking badly about
Bronni as a person.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
No, I think everybody likes Brood and you're rooting for
the kids. Yes, but this move does come a criticism.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Of course it does.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
And let's forget to remember the tweet where he said
his son was better than current players. Yeah, there's context
to all of this.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Stephen A blurs that line of journalists and maybe crossing
the line sometimes, you know so, but I think Lebron,
you know, it is like, listen, I got two little kids,
your dad, Danny g your dad. When when someone talks
about your kids, it's, you know, you get all twisted
because you're you lose all sense, right, And I think
(07:55):
it's the one spot where you know how a lot
of times when you wauch, like a movie about like
you know, like FBI agents and all murdered, their weak
spot is like if you know their family, if you
get to their family, that's their weak spot. Yeah, but
it's not personal criticisms. These are basketball criticisms. That's the difference.
You know, it's I know it's basketball criticism, but when
(08:18):
someone talks about your kid, like.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
If someone if someone told me my kids stunk.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
A Little League, I'd be like, yeah, that's great, but
now I hate you.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
But you know he brought his son into the league.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
He did.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
There's so much to it that I don't think it's
like a normal you guys speaking about your kids in
a little league.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
It is not the same. Yeah, not that it's it's
fair game.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It would be like if my son one day worked
for you know, Fox Sports Radio here and people like
Rich Davis's son not very good on the mic and.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Like like, Steve, what did you say? Like me?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
And at the same time you got Charles Barkley criticizing
steven A, and like, there's a lot of drama going
on in the NBA right now, Kendrick Perkins.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
As far as as far as Lebron, you know, step
into steven A. Remember the one incident on Live TV
that morning where steven A was really going in hard
on Lebron, almost like calling him a bad parent.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
That's what I'm saying. He blurs the line, yeah as
a father, stop this.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yeah he does right this morning. Then this morning he's
like or things he Lebron thought. I said, oh, no,
you said it. Yeah, he was just lighting Lebron.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
So that was, unfortunately the other story here when we
should be talking about man, Lebron and Luca, which we did,
but we have to acknowledge it. Just there was that
drama all over social media today that went super viral
because you saw Lebron step out of basketball player. He
wasn't defending his teammate, he was protecting his son, and
I get that, but you also have to understand that journalists,
(09:47):
and I use air quotes, journalists have to do their job.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
I just it feels genuinely, like weirdly personal between these
two got on top of it too, which which makes
it like, because yeah, it is it is a guy's
son and whatever, but it's some of the criticisms of
Bronnie James feel like it's going even further than it
should just because it's Lebron james son, and thus you
have to crank it up to eleven to get the
(10:13):
reactions too, and that's maybe fueling Lebron's Like we've seen
him start to take shots at media figures he hasn't
usually taken before.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
That's its ranking. No, it is embarrassing because you're.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
A man at a certain point, right and Bronni has
to be his own man, and he's at the workplace
and he's doing his best and everybody likes Brownie. But
I mean no matter what it is you do, you
might garner criticism. You can own a restaurant and you
get a batty up review. If you want your parents
to come in there and defend you, it's embarrassed.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
Wonder how Bronnie feels about that too, because exactly that,
like he's got to be like, I don't want my
dad step into into it, anything about this. I can
stand for myself. And you know, maybe it's he's a rookie,
he's just trying to find his way around.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Maybe next year though, I mean, we're radio personalities, right.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Let's say we're doing a show and we're getting all
this bad feedback, which we do sometimes, right because they
don't necessarily always agree with our opinions.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
How embarrassing would be if my mom was defending me. I'll, i'll,
I'll do the one that we actually have.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
If ian if I An Eagle had to step in
and defend Noah Eagle, right, like Noah Eagle shouldn't want
to have to hear his dad defend it my mom.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
My mom was a pretty good example. Leave my Stephen alone.
I would I'd be embarrassed, But I'll be honest.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
There are times where I mean My wife has never
said anything, but there are times she reads something on
social media about me and she's like, I so badly
want to say something.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I'm like, yeah, but you know not to Manzi.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
You've had some moments where you've said stuff and people
come in my opinion wrongly, your your your family or
boyfriend or anyone ever be like, yo, I want to
say stuff, and you're like, no, no, most.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Of them, yeah no, they all want to jump in
and I just don't. They're fine, it's not worth.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
So then how do you think Brownie feels right? Right?
Speaker 3 (11:52):
I don't. I don't disagree. I'm sure Brownie was like,
I really hate the spotlight that I'm in.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
But at the same time he has probably the crazy
utmost respect for his dad, right, Ye, he's okay with it.
So anyway, that happened too, and it does take away
a little bit from an amazing night of basketball.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
What are we gonna sit up here? This is what
happens you in the front of it. We might have
to rumble. Larry, be ready, I'm lamping the month, right lamping?
Speaker 4 (12:26):
So how about Luca's twenty seven foot in overtime and
the reason it really stood out to me and Monty.
You'll appreciate this because the one Clipper back in the
day I used to love watch and shoot the ball,
Jamal Crawford.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Because he's sweet, lou But Jamal Crawford.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
Crawford, because he shot that rainbow shot almost like what
you got to do at a theme park to get
the ball into those little hoops side.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Is definitely not a proper shape crooks.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
And sometimes when Luca does those quick shots, they go
straight up yeah, and I'm like, you don't even really
see him release it. Yeah, And that was one of
those shots. And when it fell in the did you
see the net?
Speaker 1 (13:03):
The net? The net swished all the way on top
of the rock.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Speaking of Luca, right Luca comes to the Lakers, the
whole narrative changes on the team. People are now comparing
Lebron to his MVP seasons. Now Lebron in the MVP conversation,
the chance last night, j Reddick the Coach of the Year, Like,
these are all great things, but they're all because of Luca.
Let's be real about that. You know, he was bringing
out the best and everybody on this team. Well, that
(13:28):
trade energized the entire league. Without that, the Lakers were
at a good spot. Now they're in a potential NBA
finals path. I'm so intrigued to see how the experience
and veteran leadership of Lebron and Luca together with the
with the young key players we're seeing emerge. How does
that match up against OKC, a less experienced team. I mean,
(13:52):
think about it. Last year, Luca went to the NBA Finals.
Lebron's been there, you know, almost ten times. Right, We're
we're talking about we're talking about an experienced team versus
one with not But you would argue the inexperienced team
is a is maybe a better team. So that's gonna
that's gonna really bring some fun to the Western Conference.
And let's not forget you still got the Nuggies and
you still got Steph who has been rejuvenated by Jimmy Box.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Absolutely and did.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
You see now listen, ninety nine out of one hundred people,
I'd say, ah, that is lucky. But when he took
that half court shot, Oh, I was like, no, that's skill. Yeah,
he's like the one, he's the one human way you like, no,
that wasn't lucky in an odd way, It's like, no,
that was Steph.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
I love the way he turned around and kind of
skipped down the court.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Oh yeah, no, no, but he just really turns it
on when the game is on. I saw him he
is he's always making circus shots. I get it. But
I saw him miss ten three point shots in a
row warming up, and then he comes out and does
stuff like that. So amazing to see. All right, So
it's a great basketball. It's the example to use with
your kids if your kids. I got little kids that
(14:56):
are playing you know, softball, baseball, all their little sports.
When I teach them about how you need to practice,
Like I'll throw my son five ground balls and he's like, okay,
I'm like, no, no, you want to get good, buddy,
We're gonna do one hundred ground balls. And I told
my kids the other day, I told the dad move,
I go, hey, look at this guy. Pulled up a
Steph Curry highlight. I go, this guy shoots thousands of
(15:19):
shots a week. He doesn't take five shots and then
gets a.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
For roll up, a pat on the back. He shoots
and he's not that big. Keep that in mind.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
He shoots thousands of shots. We forget the discipline. So
when you see steph turn around against a defender, makes
a half court shot.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
That is not luck.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
That is thousands of shots. And that's a great lesson
for a little children. It's not practice makes perfect. This
perfect practice makes perfect.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
You never hear that.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
So great basketball heating up. Thank your friend that tipped
you off like Danny g did last night. Yo, guy,
you'd better be watching. And because really you don't want
to miss games like that, so great to see. Now
we're giving away prizes to want to give you the
number again at eight seven seven ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
I enjoy spend the time with my kids and coaching
and you know, having kids, having found my wife.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Little baron little kids. Why am I getting at the
Trump mode? Because you must be watching a slew of
his videos or something. Geez, I hear it.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Trust me, I've talked to this guy for twenty years
the children. I can tell when he gets into that
or if I watch too much. Sebastian Man of Scalco, Right, yeah, he's.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Like, why do we do this? It happens, happen. We're
gonna play a game in a second.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I just want to point out two things, one that
bothers me and one that may be left. I see
headlines every day, No who needs to go away?
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Bad Baby? That's the cash me outside girl? What does
that mean?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
How has this train wreck from doctor Phil a decade
ago turned into a hip hop star and only fans?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Girl?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
That's made millions? Like it's like proving that all the
wrong qualities could get you somewhere. So I don't want
to hear anything more about bad Baby, biggest hypocrite ever.
You started off this show talking about how is great
that flight attendants and professionals and the NYPD should have
only fans. But this one who leans into it, she's
the worst. Yes number two. Speaking of airlines, you're way
(19:29):
to be consistent. I know it hasn't been a great
year for the airlines, so listen, there's been some incidents.
But did you see the Southwest story where there's a
woman that was running up and down the aisle naked?
I did imagine You're on the plane and all of
a sudden, like for she got the jubbos out and
she's like bouncing around, Like imagine you're there with your kids,
Like yeah, We're going to visit Grandma now in Florida.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Did those counts are two carry ons?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
And with that, it's time to play a game. Let's go.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
Spores are quoted a lot stars track.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Here comes the hot take quote, Andy Wee should step
down his head coach. This is not a one game,
we asked him because they lost in this game. You
guess the talking head. You can quote me on that.
Quote me.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
All right, here we go, Happy Friday. In this game,
you need to tell me which blabbermouth said it.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
I love this game, Danny, because you know why.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
No matter who you are, man, woman, young, old, we
all see social media clips. You're walking past a TV,
you'll see something on FS one or ESPN or listening
to a Fox Sports radio podcast and some show you
who said that Sometimes.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
If you're a sports fan, these are in your algorithm
for sure.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
No doubt.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
All right, let's meet the contestants. God's Gift to Divorce,
Dad Rock Steve Covino.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Disturb celebrating twenty five years this weekend out on Brandon
the Sickness. I've been down with the sickness for twenty
five years.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
To the right of him, the first really successful broadcaster
out of Syracuse, Rich.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Davis only one, right, only one out of turkeys.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
And in for Dan Bayer is a woman who had
Yasiel Puig ask her for an Alaskan airlines like Torque
Moncy Blogos.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
If you were missus peek oh, now.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Who knows? All right, let's go to the studio lines.
We're gonna see who's playing for C and R stayless
Steel Swiggy. All right, Monty, I'll use you for this.
Would you love to travel too? Beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada always, Burlington, Vermont, Louisville, Kentucky, Claremont, Florida,
or Boise, Idaho.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Well, obviously we're going with Las.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Vegas, obviously for you cound down under smoker, that is Daniel,
What up? D oh?
Speaker 1 (21:40):
What's up? D hey man? Hey, what's going on? Damn Daniel? Daniel?
Speaker 5 (21:45):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (21:46):
What do you do for her? Living there in nov
he does? Holy am a liquor and wine salesperson? The
hook up?
Speaker 4 (21:54):
All right, cool, Daniel. Here are the rules for quote me.
The first contestant with two correct answers is the champ.
If there's a tie, I have two overtime pill in
the quotes ready to go. Your name is your buzzer,
But you do have to wait until all three possible
answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row,
we move on to the next quote. Okay, are you ready?
Speaker 1 (22:11):
We're ready.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Let's get it out all right, guys. The first quote, Oh,
I gotta pull it up here talk amongst yourself. So
I have pulled this up.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Oh, so, have any good pleas this weekend? My kids
little league pictures are tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Shoot, and since I'm a coach, I to make sure
I got my shape up and try my beard a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
It's weird that I care how I love say because
this is about you. I'm coach Rich. I'm the number
one coach on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
It makes me think of coaches in our little league photo.
They're like had cigarettes like sticking out in her pocket. Yeah, yeah, mustaches,
we're in the photo.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
They didn't care. Nicely done there, thank you? All right?
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Here comes the first quote. Guys, Steph Curry is the
best great player we've ever seen. That's a great shooter
or the greatest shooter. Who's a great player, But is
he the great gatest player of all time? No, you
can't be the greatest player of all time, and we
have to hide you on defense. Alright, guys, quote me,
oh me? Was that a Kelvin Washington, B Doug Gottlieb
(23:13):
or C. Dan Patrick?
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Calvin Washington said that yesterday nothing along those.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Lines was all right, Corino code for the steal dog
got yes, Sir.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Coveno on the board?
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Nice?
Speaker 1 (23:33):
But is he the greatest play Let's here, let's here. Oh,
let's hear how it sounded. Steph Curry is the best
great player we've ever seen. That's a great shooter for
the greatest shooter. Who's a great player. But is he
the greatest play of all time?
Speaker 4 (23:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (23:48):
No, you can't be the greatest play of all time.
But we have to hide you on defense. That was
the tell when I was listening to. As soon as
you said no, no, Scott duncan duck.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Good, Jock Covino, he's on the board as we go
to round two. All right, here's the quote. Do I
think Max Crosby has any real influence over what the
Raiders do?
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I think there's a better chance that Max Crosby has
traded then the Raiders listen to Max Crosby on who
should play quarterback in Vegas? Quote me, was that a
Rob Parker? B. Jason Smith or C Ben Maller, Monty Moncy.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
B Jason Smith?
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Nook rich, You're terrible rich for the steal. I feel
like that's something Rob Parker would say. You're both losers.
That was Ben Maller.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
And I think Max Crosby has any real influence over
what the Raiders do. Absolutely not. I think there's a
better chance Max Crosby's traded. Then the Raiders listen to
Max Crosby on who should play quarterback in Vegas?
Speaker 4 (24:54):
And hours later, the Raiders gave Max Crosby one of
the richest contracts in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Did you do that just to bust the chops to
your buddy Ben Mallar?
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Maybe you could hear about it on the Fifth Hour podcast? Perfect,
all right, we moved to round three. Coveno's the only
one on the board so far. By the way, Daniel,
you just got to say your name and yes.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
All right, guys.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Third quote here, I'm like, man, when Steph is off
the floor, this is pre Jimmy Butler. I'm like, this
is a boring ass team. This is a bad Watch.
And I said I'd bring in Jimmy Butler just for
energy and juice. He'll get everyone all worked up. Quote me,
is that a Paul Pierce, b Monica McNutt or C
(25:37):
Colin Cowherd, Daniel Daniel.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
I'll go Paul Pierce, No, No, Rich Rich stars Colin Yes, Star,
Rich is on the board.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
This is how that sounded. I'm like, man, when Steph
is off the floor, this is pre Jimmy Butler. I'm like,
this is a boring ass team, but it is a
bad Watch. And I said I'd bring in Jimmy Butler
just for energy and juice. He'll just get everybody all
worked up.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
You know, there's certain keywords when you read these, like
I could hear Colin saint juice and I can hear it.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
So you got to pay close attention.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
All right, and I'm glad you at least got in there, Daniel.
We go to round four. Both CNR on the board.
All right, all right, here's the fourth quote. Guys, Barkley
does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television. That
would be Ernie Johnson who handles that responsibility. Maybe Charles
Barkley should look at his rundowns from time to time,
even though they're an NBA show as opposed to a
(26:38):
show that talks about an abundance of things. Some stories
get a higher profile than others because they resonate with
the viewing public.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Quote me, whote me? Was that a stephen A.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Smith, B Kendrick Perkins or C Richard Jefferson, Daniel Daniel.
I'll go a stephen A. Smith is correct the fact
of the matter. And here's what that sounded like.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Balkley does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
That would be Ernie Johnson Huhandle's that responsibility.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Maybe Charles Balkley.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
Should look at his rundowns from time to time, even
though they are an NBA show as opposed to a
show that talks about an abundance of things. Some stories
get a higher profile than others because they resonate with
the viewing public.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
I mean, stephen A's right about that. You got to
talk about what's hot. That's just how it is. Truthfully,
no one wants to hear about a boring game last
I mean the simple fact that we're talking.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
About that, you know, Nicks Lakers last night two big
market teams. Exciting game. Okaysee, just doesn't have the like
out of that juice. The juice, you know.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
All right, guys, we go to overtime. Montee, I'm sorry
you're not on the board real quick, all right, three
way high between Rich Covino and Daniel and guys, here's overtime.
You need to finish the quote.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Oh huh yeah, all right, whoever's closest.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
No, no, no, you finished the you get multiple choice here?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Can we try it? No, you can't finish.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
Finish, finish this, finish this quote from Damar DeRozan. The
refs were terrible, terrible as bleep dot dot A. It's
as simple as terrible.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
As when they forget to put the hot sauce in
your taco bell bag.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
You got to let him read the yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
You gotta let me read the yeah. The three possible
finishes the riches this golfer. All right, here we go.
The refs were terrible, terrible as bleep a. It's as
simple as that. B I don't even want to play
tomorrow or see but you didn't hear that from me? Daniel,
Daniel for the win, see no Cavino, Covino for the
(28:49):
steal and the wind.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
All right, we go to the final.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
We go to the final overtime quote, all right, finish
this quote about Brunson from Karl Anthony Towns. It's next
man up. He's a huge part of our team. We've
been playing with grit and a deserve a break against
the Clippers. B all need to score ten extra points
or see, have to go out there and do it again.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Daniel, Daniel for the win? What's that?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
See?
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Yes, yes, we are, yes, sir earned he earned it.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yeah, Daniel, in Las Vegas on your liquor runs, you
will be holding a shiny new CNR stain of steel Swiggy.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Nice congrats buddy. With that big win, he no longer
has to do his only dance pitch.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
I know, hey, Danny g if other people listening want
to qualify for Swiggy, you're still giving them away if
they leave a nice comment.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
For sure.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah, we're gonna get back to reading some of those
five star reviews. Now, go to Apple podcast and type
in you know and Rich, I'm sure you already subscribe.
If you do, don't if you do, if you don't,
do yeah, wait stop reverse that and yeah, write a
nice review and leave your email address, and I randomly
email people and put them on our mailing list.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Yeah, we're not above bribery. Is really what comes straight bribery?
Leave a nice review, We might send you something.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yes, you were terrible that I really was. So here's
what's so funny. I swear Calvin Washington, so something really
similar to that.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
And I was your last the last two nights working that,
and I swear Jason Smith's it's something really sail.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
We need cameras on everybody. Because she was so proud
and certain that one question she had her hands up.
I think she twked a little bit too sure. Did's
like it was doctor philm like.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Like I was so confident, and then I quickly just mad.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Yeah, it quickly made me sit down and rethink my thoughts.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
All right, guys, So a lot of NFL news today,
like former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup who abruptly retired
last offseason.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Well, he intends to make a comeback.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
He is just twenty nine. Bill's linebacker Terrell Bernard has
agreed to terms on a four year, fifty million dollar
contract extension. The Commanders have released two time Pro Bowl
defensive tackle Jonathan Allen after failing to find a trade partner.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
He was with the team for eight years.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
The Dolphins restructure linebacker Bradley Chubb's contract to create sixteen
point three million.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
In salary cap space.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
In college football, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson will not participate
in Pro Day on March twenty first because of a
minor hamstring injury. He is expected to fully be cleared
and have a private workout for NFL teams on April fourteenth.
In baseball, Mariners pitcher George Kirby is being shut down
due to shoulder inflammation. His MRI didn't show any structural
damage to the Mariners are taking it week to week.
(31:52):
In the NHL, the Boston Bruins have agreed to trade
Brad Marsham to the Florida Panthers. And in women's college hoops,
today the Big Ten quarter Finals usc defeated Indiana eighty
four to seventy nine Juju Watkins thirty one, ten rebounds,
and no I know Oklahoma defeated Kentucky sixty nine to
sixty five.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
That's still the Big Ten.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
And then the SEC quarterfinals, South Carolina topped Vanderbilt eighty
four to sixty three. Last I'll tell you, did you
guys hear the story about Arizona State running back Cam
Scatabo being sued bab by a former teammate. So there
is a story right there's a story right now that
a teammate is suing him because during the season, the
teammate was driving a golf car and Cam jumped on
(32:32):
it and it caused the golf cart to fall over
and then the.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Guy got injured.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
So he was originally suing Arizona State now has added
Cam to the lawsuit. But they can't find Cam like
to serve on papers, and so a lawyer said that
the judge granted him permission to serve him papers on
a local newspaper.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Like to put a notice out.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Oh wow, they cannot get a hold of him because
he keeps moving around.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Easy to try to sue a guy that's about to
sign his first NFL.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
But the fact that they're like, you could do it
in a local newspaper, They're like, what, they're not doing
that yet. But that's last case scenario, a newspaper notice
that you're being sued.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Thank you, MONSI by the way, one last story I
don't care about facts. I just want speculation.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Sure, who cares about facts?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I saw some social media buzz of something Cavino said
maybe a month ago, Aaron Rodgers want to stay put
on the East Coast Giants.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Aaron Rodgers. Is there any truth to that buzz? So
it's funny that you say that today.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Doug Gottlieb spoke to Mark Dominick, and that's who Mark
Dominick was putting Aaron Rodgers with the Giants.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
It could be interesting, like at first, he's like, why
would you want to go to Well, the story is Stafford.
They were throwing money his way and he actually took
less to stay in La.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Yeah, because he didn't want to go anywhere, right, He
was just trying to what it all makes sense?
Speaker 2 (33:47):
And that's exactly what we were saying, like why would
he want to leave there? His family's all set up,
he's got a few years left, he's gonna want to
stay here. And Aaron Rodgers already in New York and
here he said he loves the city. He won, he
did win fans over. He did play that card right,
And you and I also talked about how we often
downplay that side of an athlete, where ye Are they happy?
(34:07):
Is their family happy? If the Staffords live in a
beautiful mansion in Hidden Hills twenty minutes from here, they
do you think they want to pull their kids out
of a school district? Kelly Stafford's got the top stage
of his career too. Yeah, I mean he wants to
be out here. He won a Super Bowl here so
Aaron Rodgers Giants could get interesting. We got more Cavino
on Rich next and plus what to watch this weekend
(34:28):
in the world of Fighting Sports TV streaming weekend Hobnobbing
is next.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
There he is the divorced Dad Rock Ambassador, Steve Cavino.

Speaker 2 (34:45):

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Uh well, Luca or Lebron.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
I think it's the guy that makes everybody better, including
the coach. I don't think anyone was saying MVP Lebron
or Coach of the Year Reddick until Luca got out.
So Luca, you, my friend, gotta be express pros pro
of the week. They have been unstoppable, it seems. Thirty
points last night in forty three minutes with a sweet
(36:37):
win in overtime one thirteen one oh nine over the Knicks.
Exciting game in March, like we said earlier, so it
props to Lucas. And when he was talking to Rooks
after the game, uh fresh fade. You see, he's got
I feel like he came from the barbershop too. I
wasn't really checking out the fade. I was checking out Rooks.
But okay, okay, I don't blame just kidding. We get

(36:59):

Daredevil and how great it was. I'm like, yeah, yeah,
But then he came in the next day He's like, yo, dude,

I will. Daredevil Born Again on Disney Plus. Now for
(37:22):
the Danny McBride fans and Adam Devine, I really do
like both of them. Righteous Gemstone season four on Max. Oh,

Speaker 1 (38:19):
You're not a fan, you are a fan. You're a
fan of his comedy. His haircut bothers me. He's not
not enough faded. He doesn't It's like, I mean, I
know who that's he's going.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
For that fade not strong enough for Comino's liking. But
Andrew show is very funny. So Life Great Life is
on Netflix. Same with the weddings on Love is Blind.
Speaker 1 (38:39):

Speaker 1 (39:07):
I can show those good but the last episode I
was like, can I save everyone time?
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Because part of this is telling you what not to watch.
Zero Day with Robert de Niro is terrible. I watched
all six waiting for like, what is it gonna get good?
And the answer is, guys, never, rich did the research
for you? I did.

of Inside Out. It teaches kids a little bit about sports,
teaches them a little bit about life. It takes each character.
Cavino in each episode of this series is about a
different character, and it all sort of comes together. The umpire,
the kid playing, the little league, all the stuff, and
(39:58):
it's a lot of fun. Winner Lose on Disney plus
Danny g Anything on your radar, This.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
Thumbs up on that Winner, Louis. That's a good little
series there. Yeah, besides nineteen twenty three and Love is Blind.

daytime game morning ten am for us on the west side,
Nuggets at OKC.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
That's a Western Conference battle. It's gonna be a good one.
Speaker 5 (40:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
I feel like, do you think the Lakers can take
Okay see man I do.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Yeah, yeah, if they stay hot with their shooting and
their defense is on point the way it has been
in this little win streak here.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah, no disrespect to other teams, but the Western Conference
doesn't feel like it should be ok see Denver, Golden
State and the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
I feel like that's what it should be.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
And by the way, if you want some ridiculous action,
that's far fetched but awesome.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Reacher Season three is out yeah on Amazon pop Start.
