(00:30):
It's the Hurt wherever you may be and however you
may be listening iHeartRadio, Fox Sports Radio FS one. Joy
Taylor is joining me a little bit of trouble for
the Warrior. Joy is much more optimistic this morning. It
sounds like to me on the Warriors, you're a lot
more optimistic. Well, I thought the series was gonna go seven,

(00:50):
So in order for it to go seven, the Warriors
are gonna have to lose some games. That's how the
math works on it. Yeah, and you know, I didn't
love seeing Steph a little banged up. That was scary.
I'll didn't really understand what the reps were doing there.
I feel like that loose ball went on forever, way
longer than it needed to. That was actually dangerous. Yeah,
Like I've moved on from the reps being like the issue,

(01:11):
but like, what are you doing that loose ball? Steph
clearly had possession of it and then it rolled over
like it was it was too much. That was a
dangerous situation. I don't think it was a dirty play,
but that may be nervous. But no, I think it's Look,
the Warriors have been in six of the last eight finals. Yeah,
you're gonna lose some games. Yeah, I think it'll go
along all right. So Draymond Green was not very good.

(01:33):
He talked on his podcast after the game about his
really really tough night against the Celtics in Game three.
Tonight may have been one of the worst games in
my career. I honestly, I totally outsmart at myself and
coming into the game. You know, you hear all the chattering,
you hear all the noise, and but I think for me,

(01:54):
I just let too much noise get into my head
about all the other stuff, and so in turn, I
let that drag my intense level down. I let it.
You know, I'm going into the game like all right,
you know, I'm not gonna say this. I'm not gonna
do that. I'm not going to get a rough reason,

(02:14):
a chance to call a tech and blah blah blah
blah blah. He let the refs getting this, and I
did the exact opposite of what I said I was
going to do or what I needed to do. So
he let the refs get into his head. Refs do
not decide championships. I know you think fanboys they do.
They don't. You really think the refs wanted Dirk Navitsky

(02:36):
in the mostly nameless, faceless Mavericks to beat Wade and Lebron.
You really think they were rooting for that. You think
they wanted small market Milwaukee, not big market Philly or
sexy Miami or great brand Boston. They were really rooting
last year for the Milwaukee Box. Okay, Yeah, they're just

(03:00):
some things players shouldn't care much about, and it should
be the officials and all they do is jaw with them,
all of them. I mean, in my business, there are
things I absolutely care about. I'll give you one revenue.
I want my company's Fox Premiere Radio, my podcast network.
When the revenue, that's what I look at, not ratings revenue.

(03:22):
Because when the revenues pouring in, the bosses upstairs are happy,
the owners are happy, My employees are happy. And then
there are things I don't worry about, hate mail, Uncle
Collin's done great for thirty years. Half my audience has
always despised me. It has no impact. Revenue has huge impact.

(03:43):
Referees don't decide championships. Steph Curry's easily the most well
known player in this series and he got a horrible
ticky tack foul called against him last night. You think
the refs are pulling for the community and Robert Williams
and Derek Flight over Steph the big brand and the Warriors. No,

(04:03):
it's just their officials. What about Tim Donaghee, What about him?
There's bad people everywhere, even in officiating. He got kicked out.
If you look at the history of the NBA, look
at who's been bad for thirty years, the Knicks now
the last nine, mostly the Lakers, and yet Memphis is

(04:24):
flourishing and Utah's the number one seed and Milwaukee won
a championship. Referees do not do not decide championships. They
make good calls and bad calls, almost like you when
you go to work. Players have good games in bad games.
Executives make great trades and bad trades. Oh what a shocker.
Officials have bad calls. That does not mean things are

(04:47):
rigged or they're leaning. Steph Curry had a terrible call
against him last night, and he is easily the biggest
television draw in this series. And the Warriors have been
in so many finals for so many years. They have
such a massive rand. They can charge double with almost
everybody in the league can for tickets when they come
into your arena. Your team charges more for Warrior tickets,

(05:08):
wouldn't they? The refs be giving them every call. Last night,
Boston's physicality push Golden State around was allowed. Draymond made
the mistake the players do all the time. Refs do
not have the influence you think. They're not deciding championships. Certainly,
don't let them get in your head. And with that,

(05:29):
Antoine Walker, Fox Sports NBA analyst, he's got a ring,
you know, I said last night he's not a star
per se. But Robert Williams when he's on the floor,
the Warriors can't score in the paint period and so
they become basically a jump shooting team. I think Robert
Williams has a massive influence. His plus minus last night

(05:50):
was best on both teams. Now he gets hurt, he
can give you about twenty five minutes. He can't give
you thirty five. But how do you solve that? You?
How does Golden States solve the Robert Williams issue. We
are not going to be able to solve it, at
least not this year because of obviously they don't have
anybody on the roster that can come in and put

(06:10):
any pressure on. You got two nine scores at the
four and five in Cavan Looney and Draymond Green. So
that makes Robert Williams even better because now he doesn't
have to hold on a latch onto those two guys.
He can help out and challenge and challenge shots at
the rim, and he had a monster block shot there
in the second half, and just getting second chance opportunities,

(06:32):
not allowing them to get second chance because Golden State
flourishes off second chance opportunities, and he does a great
job of stopping that. Are you surprised or perhaps how
surprised with you with the struggles of Jason Tatum in
three straight games. I don't think he struggled. I thought

(06:53):
last night was his best game. What he was able
to do in the fourth quarter as far as putting
his head down making the right play. He struggles a
little bit at times during the game. He gets in
the corner and he's not aggressive. But I thought last
night he continued to be aggressive as the game went along,
when even when Golden State man day run, he came

(07:14):
out that fourth quarter and took advantage of mismatches driving
to the basket, did not settle for three point shots
like he's done in the past. And I thought that
was a difference in the fourth quarter because he was
able to attack the basket, got to the free throw
line a couple of times. So I thought last night
was his best game. Clay Thompson, Is this what he
is going forward? Do you expect him to be better

(07:35):
next year? But he's not scoring down low because of
Williams his shot? You know he was bad early, then good, bad, third,
then good. Is this kind of what Clay is going forward?
Do you keep him for the next three years? Do
you bring him back? Because I if he's not going
to be an elite defender. We know Steph isn't. Now
you gotta hold We know Jordan Poole isn't. I mean,

(07:57):
what's the future if you are running the Warrior on
Clay Thompson. It's tough and he I thought Clay was
good last night. He was aggressive, he was determined to
have a better game. He did do that. They have
to bring him back next year, and we gotta we
have to understand he's been off for a couple of years.
Those were really serious injuries, and you know, we're expecting
him just to bounce back and be the same Cliff. Oh.

(08:18):
It takes time, and I think it'll be It'll be
you know, this justice for us to go out and
say that, hey, we need Clay to be this superhero
that we saw him be and be the same splash
brother that we saw a couple of years ago. It's
not going to be the same. So I think this
year was great for him to be back in the
mix and to be able to make a deep run

(08:39):
like they're making in the finals right now. I can't
see him nothing but getting better next year. So um,
you know, listen, international soccer fans can be just awful
with players taunting them. So when Draymond's getting cursed and
they're you know, they're doing the T shirts, My takeaway is,

(09:01):
you know it's it's this is kind of what happens,
and and and and you know Draymond, he doesn't mind
poking fans either, so he you know, he gets all
worked up in that too. Um, you were at the
arena last night. Is it crossing a line? Does it
bother you? What do you make of the fans Draymond
in that current relationship. I mean, it's tough when when
they're using the curse Royds to to to go at him.

(09:22):
I mean, obviously you would prefer just something basically just
booing on when he gets the ball or something of
that nature. But Draymond has put this on himself and
Colin you know that he's doing a lot of talking.
He's doing his podcast at the games. Um game too.
He spent the whole game getting into um altercations with
just about everybody on the Celtics roster. So he's put

(09:44):
this on himself. So unfortunately, this is the part of
the game. This is the finals, this is the finals.
Boston fan base are very they're engaging. This is a
tough crowd to play on. They're gonna get on you
and you gotta be ready to accept it. You got
to block it out and go out and play. So
it's Unfortunately that he got to deal with it because
obviously these are from Crewe fansy in Boston. They go
right at you and they were at him. I mean

(10:07):
the chat was not nice. Obviously I can't set it
on TV, but it was. It was definitely hostile and
eighteen twenty thousand people were going at him. Who would
you if you I'm not early an Awards guy, but
if you had to give the MVP of the series,
who would you give it to? This morning? I like
Jaylen Brown. Yeah. I just think he's been the one

(10:30):
rock for the Celtic. I thought the way he got
started off the game yesterday, setting its home, being aggressive, um,
getting you Draymond Green and foul trouble. Even Steph Curry,
he just was terrifically last night. And he was great
Game one, in that fourth quarter and mound that comeback
for the section to be able to win Game one.
So I think, you know, obviously the talk is all

(10:50):
about Steph and Jason Tatum, but Jaylen Brown it would
be my guy right now. The three games. Yeah, do
you think the Warriors were cut? I mean they're underdogs
again in Game four. It's hard to come back three
one when you're sitting there. Last night, you're on the floor,
you're watching close. There was a moment for me last
night when I'm watching all these non stars for the

(11:12):
Celtics produce and the non stars for the Warriors not producing,
and I said to myself, it's like eight against five.
It's it's just different. I mean, do you feel the
Warriors are done. I don't think they're done. I wouldn't.
They're too good of a team to be done. But
I do think they're gonna lose this series in six games.
I talked about this before the series started, and I

(11:33):
truly believe this. The Celtics depth they have. What depth
can go to state when you think about when you
get production. You just talked about it one Robert Williams
they last night. I thought Gret Wims was terrifically last night. Yeah,
and then minutes in the minutes that heat played Marcus Smart,
I said, was the X factor. He comes off a
two point performance, gives you twenty four seven and five,

(11:55):
plays good, great defense in the fourth quarter. I mean
they have they can go down the bench. Derek White
in Game one, I just feel like the depth of
Boston will wear him out and then the physicality we
saw last night, Boston dominate the paint, dominate inside, and
Golden State is not going to get any bigger as
the sea that the series goes along, they're gonna be
the same size and as something. Jammond Green's inability to

(12:19):
score the basketball and Looney really hurts Golden State because
they make them easier to guard in the pick and row.
You can get out on Steph and play and be
aggressive and on Jordan Poole because they're thrown back to
none scores. And I think that's what the Celtis have
the advantage of. You know, it's interesting. Jaya Adonde, a
journalist who's covered the league forever and now he runs

(12:39):
the Northwestern Journalism School Medilla and Chicago, was on and
he said, you know, they may they maybe should have
moved James Wiseman because they don't want to give up Kaminga,
but he's not ready to play. They don't want to
give up Moody, he's not ready to play. They don't
want to give up Wiseman either. But you get to
a point where those guys may not be ready until
Draymond and Claire too old. So you have this like

(13:02):
like you gotta get everybody that's on Steph's timeline to
some degree. You got to be lined up when Steph
can be highly productive. So like James Wiseman number two pick,
I'm watching video last night, seven footer, beautiful jumper. Should
they have moved him for another productive player or would
you stick with him in his high ceiling which may

(13:23):
not be realized for four years. I think it was
hard because I don't know if they were trying to
see if Craig was going to come back and see
how good they really can be. I don't think they
expect that Jordan Poole to be as good as he
was during the season and he turns out to be
a stud. Now now you're looking at hey, we could
be in the final. So I think now moving forward,

(13:44):
they know what they got in front of him, they
know they're going to have to address the size of it.
And it's a lonely as a free agent, so you
could possibly lose him in the free agent market. So
I don't think you can just give up on wise
and right away. And Kyl you made a point about
the rookies, the two rookies to go to day. How
we know that they ready. He has yet to play him.
He played him in other series. Are you scared to

(14:05):
play him now? It's because it's the finals. You never
knew if they're ready if you don't give him an opportunity.
So I can't just say those guys are not ready
to play. He's went away from them and went back
to his veterans. Get those guys are shot and see
what happens. It's been a fun series. I've got to
be honest, it's been a really fun series. Um, you know,

(14:25):
it's got everything. I've got a star, I've got Draymond talking,
I've got a great brand. I've really enjoyed it. Whether
or not, I don't know if America enjoys it. I
am who do you like? Who do you like? Friday Night?
I think I like Boston, But I think it's really
really close. I think it's gonna be super close. What
do you what do you foresee for Friday Game four?

(14:47):
If Steph injuries has any type of seriousness to it?
I like Boston. I just think if he's if he's
hurt him and he says the same injury that he had, Um,
he's just coming off of up. It's gonna be tough
for him because he has to actually happens quickness. He
has to has his mobility to be able to come
up screens, and we know Steph there's a lot of
moving around without the ball. So if he's not able

(15:08):
to run and cut and do the things he wants
to do, they're gonna be in trouble because Golden State
has yet to find that second and third squad. I
know Clay was better yesterday, but Jordan pooles. Yet. They're
arriving this series and I don't know if they can
must up enough points. I get enough guys going offensively
to be able to hang with the Celtics, especially with
the Celtics being at home. Antoine Walker, do you have

(15:29):
good seats? By the way, An Twine? Where are you
sitting for the series? On the floor? That's that's pretty good, Antoine?
All right, good good talking to you? All right, Antoine Walker?
I love An Twine. Um, yeah, it's fun. I think
this series has been absolute blast. I'm bummed out tonight.

(15:51):
There's no game, so I and out of town. I
tried on a bunch of vests last night at home,
so I got I have nothing to do tonight and
my dogs are with Anne and so I got no animals.
I called my daughter, you want to go There's a
fancy cool place, and she's like, I'm busy, and what's
going on with me? I don't know. I have no idea.
Did you finish your show? Yeah? I finished the offer

(16:14):
on the paramount, plus I got nothing. I think this
night would be a good night to watch one of
those movies that you haven't gotten around too. Yeah, or
try on more vests. One more Herd. The Herd streams
twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Within
the iHeartRadio app, Search Herd to listen live or on
demand whenever you like. Sunday, get ready for USFL doubleheaders,

(16:37):
starting with the Bandits and Breakers at for Eastern on Fox,
then flip over to FS one for Stars Mallers at
seven thirty Eastern. USFL Football Sunday on Fox and FS one. Well,
he's the most talked about quarterback in the NFL that
doesn't play much. His name is Trey Lance and the
forty nine ers gave up a lot of draft picks

(16:58):
to move up and get him, and is he ready
to play? Steve Young is now helping. Why won't they
get rid of Jimmy Garoppolo. We think they're well run,
but did they make a mistake with a draft pick. Well.
Peter Schrager, who works at Fox, was on Good Morning
Football and he said he's hearing very good things. Everything

(17:19):
I'm hearing out of the Bay Area is that there
has been a major strides heading in to year number two.
Jimmy G's not there and he's kind of been off
the radar. Trey Lance is. I'm getting more and more
of a feeling that this is a Trey Lance's team
and he's ready to go. So here's what I know.
Size check, a big, strong kid. Athletic ability check. May

(17:41):
not be Kyler Murray, but he can move. Personality I've
actually met him. Check, smart kid, good kid. You gotta
check about four boxes in the NFL to be a
successful quarterback. The one I'm worried about, and it doesn't
look very good is accuracy. He's not a pretty throw
of the football, either, was Philip Rivers. He doesn't have

(18:04):
to be in Kyle Shanahan's system Drew Brees, but he
can't be Cam Newton. So Matt Stafford's career completion percentage
is sixty three. He won a Super Bowl. Josh Allen
sixty two and a half, sixty three, you gotta get
about there. That's it now, right now, he's at fifty eight. Again,
he's not a pretty thrower of the football. It doesn't

(18:25):
that's not the be all end all. I mean, Kyler
Murray to me, throws the prettiest ball in the league.
Philip Rivers is the ugliest. Peyton Manning didn't know pretty football.
He's just that's to me. The issue is that four
of the five boxes, three of the four boxes there there.
Not only are they checked, they're above average. He's a
bigger than you need to be. He's more athletic than

(18:46):
you need to be. His personality's great, bright kid. That's
not it. But the accuracy thing. Tim Tebow I was
never a fan of because instantly I knew he can't
complete enough throws in this league. He's just not His
has wind up as too slow. It's what's undone a
really talented kid, Sam Darnold. So it's all about the

(19:06):
accuracy box and under Kyle Shanahan, you don't have to
be Drew Brees or Kirk Cousins. You don't. You don't
have to throw a football like Kyler Murray, but you
can't be Cam. Cam's like career completion percentage is really low,
it's under sixty and that's you just can't be there.
So my guess is it's gonna work. But man, am
I tired of hearing about the process. Show me the money,

(19:29):
Show me the starts. Joey Taylor with the news. No,
no turn on the news. This is the herd Line
News show Cooper Cup the money Who. The Rams and
Cooper Cup have come to an agreement on an extension.
The deal is for thirty years, eighty million, with seventy
five million guaranteed. The seventy five million guaranteed is the

(19:50):
most for any receiver, which top Tyreek Hills seventy two
point two million dollars guaranteed. That He is now under
contract through twenty twenty six, has two years and thirty
one point five million left on the extension he signed
in twenty twenty, so he is also locked up. So
here's the Rams signings this offseason. Cooper Cup, Aaron Donald

(20:12):
three year, ninety five million dollars contract. Earlier this week,
Matthew Stafford four year, one hundred and sixty million dollars
extension earlier this offseason. Bobby Wagner five years fifty million,
Alan Robinson three years forty six point five million, And
of course, as I mentioned, Cooper Cup Super Bowl MVP,
first receiver since two thousand and five to lead the
league in catches, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions in twenty

(20:33):
twenty one. The Rams just do things differently well. Is remarkable. Yeah,
and this is also where California has the fifth biggest
economy in the world and easily America's biggest economy. And
this is the difference between Saint Louis because stan Cronky
owned this team in Saint Louis and Stan Cronky owns it. Now,
what's the difference the game day revenue, the revenue that

(20:54):
so FI produces. Not all these owners are equally wealthy.
You got to have the money in the account to
give to write these guaranteed checks. A couple of years ago,
the Raiders could not pay bills, they couldn't sign players,
they didn't have enough money in the bank because they
were moving from Oakland to Vegas. That's why they wanted
to move Oakland to Vegas. Bigger game day revenue, more
money in the bank. The Rams are the richest team

(21:15):
in the league. It's not the Cowboys. They are the
richest team in the league. Their game day revenue is immense.
Their owner is the richest owner in the NFL. So
when you look at these contracts, half the teams on
these league in this league couldn't write them. So even
though you have a the guaranteed party, it's because they're right.
I mean that that Cooper they just wrote him a
seventy five million dollars. I mean, you're writing massive check

(21:39):
after massive check, and fans think it's a salary cap everybody, No,
it's not. The game day revenue for a New York
Giants game is six times what the Jacksonville Jaguars is.
And so this is the difference I was told. I
was told this that the game day revenue in Saint
Louis was Stan cronky in the Rams because he was
the one of the richest owners there. When they moved

(22:02):
to LA and they were in the coliseum where they
didn't even have their food and beverage locked up, they
made more money their first game in the coliseum, a
college stadium, than they made in Saint Louis. Significantly. Now
quadruple their game day revenue by four and five. So
this is the issue. This team is so cash heavy.

(22:25):
This is what the Warriors are. I know, nobody likes California.
The advantage the Warriors have over everybody. They are charging
so much money for tickets because the Bay Area, the
rich people in the Bay Area are so wealthy that
they don't care about prices for tickets and they don't
so for those seats close to the floor, they are

(22:45):
a fortune and they're getting these home playoff games and
these home playoff games. So simply the Warriors, they don't.
Even the owner, Joe Lacob doesn't care about the money
part of it. You know, a lot of these owners
they don't. They're not in Silicon Valley, they don't. They
don't have this California game day revenue. In these season
ticket revenue. But also when they're well run organizations that win,

(23:08):
you play in the postseason, so you get those additional
games that other organizations don't get. And generally playoff tickets
and playoff revenue is higher than the regular season revenue.
Look at the guaranteed money the Rams have spent this
offseason just writing guaranteed checks off season, sixty five million
guaranteed to Aaron Donald, eighteen million guaranteed to Bobby Wagner,

(23:30):
one hundred and thirty five million dollars guaranteed to Matthew Stafford,
thirty point seven five million dollars, a million guaranteed to
Alan Robinson, and Cooper Cup seventy five million guaranteed Jacksonville.
Can't write those checks. But Colin, the Texas, the Liberals,
God were such jerks. I just can't take you guys seriously. Problem. Sorry. So,

(23:55):
there's been some talk about who was the most important
piece of the Warrior's run from two thousand sixteen to
twenty nineteen, and Sejan McCullum recently said that he doesn't
think it was Steph Curry. There's no debates about who
was the best player on that team. We know what
was Kevin Durant. Steph knows it was Kevin Durant, dre
deep down, he knows it was Kevin Durant. And obviously
Kay knows he was the best player on that team. Yeah, yeah,

(24:16):
I would agree with that. I mean, I don't think
that's a knock on Steph Curry either. I think Kevin
Durant was obviously the best player on those teams. Steph
Curry has been the consistent best player over this Warriors dynasty.
Like there can be levels to this, and that was
a different team than the team that we're looking at

(24:37):
right now and the team that won before Katie got there. So,
I mean, we've talked earlier about how important the role
players have been in the in this finals series, Like
we know what the cores is. Katie was the best player,
but he never actually, he never actually led the Warriors
in scoring in the three regular seasons on the team.
Curry did, but they both averaged twenty six point four
points per game during the twenty seventeen eighteen campaign. But

(25:01):
in the postseason, two of the smartest players in league
history are d Wade and Steph Curry. In both instances,
with Lebron going to Miami and k D going to
Golden State, d Wade and Curry immediately acknowledged, it's my city.

(25:21):
You're a better player than I am. Right, Westbrook will
not allow any other Lakers to bring the ball up. Okay,
self awareness is huge in this league. Like d Wade
and staff have had massive success beyond basketball with multiple teams,
multiple teammates. They admitted immediately they suppressed their egos and said,

(25:44):
d Wade, I've read a story one time, after about
four or five practices, he's like, all right, I can't
do that. It's maybe my city and my culture. You're
the best player. Half the stars in this league historically
struggle with that. Some can never admit that. No, it's
it's definitely, especially when it's Ben yours. To take a

(26:06):
step back is a lot to do. But true winners
and guys that understand this is it's actually still a
team game at the end of the day, as much
as this is a players league in a stars league,
it's a team game. To make those kind of sacrifices.
You see the results, but you have to be aware
that that's what has to happen. There's always people who

(26:28):
try and reinvent how things work. Always Russ has been
one of those guys. Like, you're consistently doing the same
thing over and over again, and we keep getting told
that you're in this different category, but it's not producing results,
so obviously it's not the right way to do things. Now,
on the flip side of it, we have guys who
are unselfish, who alter their games. Who you can look

(26:51):
at Carmelo like Carmelo for the longest time and we
laughed about being a bench guy. He has completely changed
his game and we look at him differently, looking at
the end of his career in a completely different way. Yeah,
Carmelo finally came to terms with Hey, I can be
really helpful, but I'm no longer a star. And there's
nothing wrong with that. He's still a legend, he's still
a Hall of Famer, and we're not going to forget

(27:13):
the contributions that he had when he was exact. But
I think that is so hard. The fact that Steph
and d Wade could do it near their proms, yeah,
in their prime. Westbrook now is out of it and
he can't do it like like d Wade, it's his city,
he's in his prime, and he's like, I'm gonna take
a step back. I just think that is You're right,

(27:34):
it's significant. It's very difficult to do and it shows results.
So everyone's outrage outrage machine is on is working overtime
right now, Golf outrage machine. So the PGA Tour suspended
seventeen members who are competing in the inaugural Live Golf
tournament events, which starts today in London. They announced the
punishment in a memo to players today. Now this is

(27:56):
new because yesterday they said they were gonna let them plays,
and now they are not gonna let them play. So
the ones in Yellow informs the PGA Tour that they
have resigned their membership. So, of course, among these players
are six time Major champ Phil Mickelson, two time Major
champion Dustin Johnson, and longtime Ryder Cut participants Ian Poulter,

(28:18):
Lee Westwood and Sergierogoshcia. Everyone is outraged. We talked a
lot about this yesterday. We talked about it earlier in
the show Rage Joy. Even though all of you are
driving to work with Saudi oil in your car. If
you really care, buy a Tesla. That phone is from China,
if you really care, get off your iPhone. Everybody's outraged
with this connection, blood money. I don't want to diminish

(28:41):
the human rights as are happening or have happened in
Saudi Arabia, but I do think that some perspective is
needed here because I'm reading some of the some of
the coverage, some of the think pieces surrounding this, and wow,
clutching pearls, beyond clutching pearl Well, I've said this for years.

(29:01):
The preciousness of golf has always been fascinating to me.
I mean, a sport that is arguably the least inclusive
over its history. I mean, do we even want to
talk about the black players who are not even allowed
to participate in the tour? Right, We're just gonna none
of that. None of that happens. It's it's it's a

(29:22):
new world now, so we're all precious. The whole situation
with Tiger Woods, I mean, oh, oh, could you like
to us with a family man? When your entire sports
brand is built off of getting away from the wives
for the weekend, that's what's built off to hang with
the boys. I just I can't buy into the preciousness
of what's happening here for multiple reasons. And it doesn't

(29:44):
diminish anything that has happened or is happening. But to
hold golfers, to hold athletes to hire standards, and you
hold your own governments and yourself for that matter, because
where do you draw your moral line? If we dig
into whose money comes from? Where you're using Twitter? Five
point two percent of Twitter is owned by the same

(30:04):
Saudi prince who has helped fund this live golf tournament.
So are you putting your think pieces on the Twitter
machine because its own blood Twitter? I mean, I just
where do you draw the line with it? And to
be outraged at these golfers like it's their responsibility to
turn down hundreds of millions of dollars, which you would

(30:25):
not turn down no matter what you tell me, I
don't care. I straight up don't believe you unless you
are a golfer who's on the PGA Tour, who's not
taking that money that's been offered to you, and it's
been offered to you, I don't really want to hear
what you have to say. You don't have hundreds of
millions of dollars. You're not good enough at anything to
ever have someone offer you one hundred million dollars to
do anything. I can't take you seriously. And unless this

(30:48):
is how you live your life consistently every single day,
you draw the line in the sand with everything that
is possibly morally questionable. I can't must up the outrage
for this. I we have enough going on in our
own country to focus on. I can't expect Phil Mickelson
and Dustin Johnson to solve Saudi Arabia, just like I
don't expect Lebron to do anything for China. That's right.

(31:10):
They're not the Avengers guys. They're they're athletes who can
use their platforms for good. But them playing or not
playing in this is not changing anything that's going on
in Saudi Arabia, right, Nothing, nothing, not a thing, not
one thing. I just I don't understand it now to
say things you know you wouldn't do anything specifically for money,
or when you make decisions specifically just for money it
doesn't work out. I think that I do think there

(31:32):
is some to that, and who knows how this will
end up playing out or what the outcome of this
will be. But the preciousness of the coverage that's going on,
the names that some of these men are being called
from people who would never ever be in a situation
to make a decision like this. I've seen a lot
of sports writers sell their soul to get that ESPN check.

(31:55):
Suddenly they're clickmeisters, like spare me on. I worked at
a company that took a lot of newspaper guys, journalists
and they just came They they got that, that got
that TV money, and it's like, I'm not encouraging people
to not have moral stances. Of course, speak about social issues.
I think my reputation precedes me in that space. However,

(32:19):
you are not in the situation to turn down one
hundred and twenty five million dollars. Yeah. Sorry, Yeah, so
you can say you wouldn't sell your soul, but people
have sold their soul for far less. Yeah. Joey with
the news, Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping
by the Herdline News. So I saw this. So Draymond

(32:42):
Green was talking about his podcast. He's getting some pushback
that guy's got more podcasts than he does rebounds in
this series. All right, So here's Draymond Green kind of,
you know, addressing that kind of questioning. I don't say
much different on the podcast, and I say to you
right here, so, nah, what's the X and of those

(33:03):
that I said on the podcast. Actually, that's the only
real thing I noticed that we really stood out. He
talked about how to cover white, smart and horror differently
between games one and ten. That was really only oh yeah,
that was just contesting shots. If that's exces and those
the ounds you're reaching for something. This is all good.
Don't keep going Traditional media asked better questions, get better answers,

(33:30):
so we didn't have to use them only on the podcast.
By the way, that I strongly encourage you to listen
to the podcast. Maybe that reporter is right. You need
to listen to that podcast over and over again. Michael
Jordan often played eighteen holes on the day of playoff games.
You have no idea what players do before games, after games,

(33:52):
party and all night. I don't think a podcast is
sapping energy from Draymond Green, nor do I think and
he's giving away trade secrets twenty minutes of talking probably
not the deciding factor. In fact, I looked it up
this morning. Emaidoku, the great young coach for the Celtics,
has six assistant coaches and eleven people on his staff.

(34:13):
I doubt he's told any of them go listen to
his podcast. That's how we'll defend him. Oh yo YOI.
This is the new media where players can go to
their hotel room after a game instead of going out
and just turn up, turn to switch on and talk
about the series and then put it out to the world.
I would rather have all these guys on a podcast,

(34:35):
than at a nightclub, than party in, than golfing, than
drinking at the last thing I want my guys to
do is be out in the public, potentially getting in trouble.
I love the idea of going back to your hotel room,
open up your iPad, got a microphone. Talk. Tells me
you're engaged, tells me focused, You're caring about the series,
You're talking about the series, you're thinking about the series

(34:56):
I'm gonna go with. The podcast isn't getting in a
way of the finals. It's just me. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Easter
nine am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio FS one and
the iHeartRadio app. Hey it's me Rob Parker. Check out
my weekly MLB podcast, Inside the Parker, for twenty two

(35:17):

to newsmakers in the sport. Whether you believe in analytics
or the eyecast, We've got all the basis covers. New
episodes drop every Thursday, So do your open favor and
listen to Inside the Parker with Rob Parker on the
iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcast. So I said,

(35:40):
I wanted to have a more dynamic look on the air,
and Joy Taylor as not a big fan of this.
So I said, I've been thinking about wearing a vest
on the show. And Joy's like, what kind of vast
and I said leather. She did not like it. She
did not approve of this. So I've been experimenting with
vests over the last twenty four hours. So I don't

(36:00):
have these vests. Oh well, yes, I've got vests. So
let's let's show some graphics. Let's sew. Now these are
potential vests. Uh, not terrible. Okay, you look like every
network executive in Los Angeles. All right, that's Seattle, Colin.

(36:21):
All right, let's go to the next one. That's the
leather one. I kind of appreciate. Oh you don't like that.
You look like you spy on strangers and you're free time. Okay,
next one, Hey, that's got's Utah, that's wyoming, Colin. Yeah,
this this is I've watched ways many episodes of Yellowstone.
All right, Well you got a point there. All right,

(36:43):
how about what's the next one? Hey, g oh, it's giving,
it's giving midlife crisis? Is that one that is biker Colin. Yeah,
I don't have a bike, but if I did, I
can't imagine that. All right, what's the final one? And
what would that's tasteful? I kind of this is magician Colin.
This is struggling magician Colin. Look look over here and

(37:05):
the coin appears over here. So the guy at the
bar that thinks all girls drink apple martinis. Okay, so
I'm gonna so just take a picture of joy. Take
a picture of Joy. Okay, hold on, I'm gonna put
on it. I'm gonna put you God, it's happening. Whys
doing this to me? I'm not looking. I need the reveal. Okay,

(37:30):
look at this now? Oh, I mean that's it's I
have the same item of clothing, by the way, in
my dressing room downstairs, so I have I have this merch.
I wish I had done this was happening because I
would have brought mine up as well. Maybe I'll wear
it tomorrow. So I forgot I had these. But this, Yeah,
I mean this is like a it's this isn't appropriate

(37:50):
for a show that this would be like if I
was out camping or something. Yes, like I wore something
similar to this when I was golfing because it was
a little chili and you need your your arms free.
But that's like a it's like an ath leisure piece.
So you just look like you're cold, but you want
to remain because because Skip Bayliss works here, we are
freezing Jive and Shannon that wear like three piece suits

(38:13):
and it's freezing every morning when we walk in here. No,
that's what that's a. That's a very La look, is
the puffer vest with the with the button down shirt.
So let's go to the graphics again. So let's just
do the review the footage. Okay, So the first one
is I actually think it looks great. It's something you'd
wear on like a Saturday afternoon if it's chili in
La with your kids. Right, Yes, that's a that's an

(38:33):
appropriate look, but I don't know that it's appropriate. Frown air.
That's exactly right. The second one I think is I'm
too sexy for this best. I like it a lot,
but Joy thinks it's just too it's tacky looking. Okay,
all right, we'll move off that. The third one is
to me, I would wear this in Park City. You
would wear the Springs Best outside of your home calling. Yes,

(38:56):
you don't think I should? You would? You don't think
I look good outside a house wearing that. Maybe in
the yard we'll get all that fringe. Are you kidding?
What's the purpose of it? Well, just mean, okay, warm,
it's tied in the front of It's like I feel
like a cowboy. Okay, four is probably not my brand.
I'm like, I'm trying to be tough and I'm not. Really. Yeah,

(39:19):
I don't. I don't. I don't really take the guys
that go full biker. What I will say this, I
would wear this, I would wear this last one on
the air. I don't think this is the best. I'm
afraid of. This is the one that you keep. This
is what This is the look that is giving me. Yeah,
just like this best? This is it? So you don't
like this at all? This guy walks up to you

(39:42):
in public, What is your immediate thought? I immediately thought
he asked your sign? And are you a Gemini? That
guy is all over Los Angeles. This guy is way
into NFTs. Yoh yeah, yeah, he is absolutely convinced NFTs
are the stock market. Yes, forget technology, NFTs are Oracle. There.

(40:06):
Guy is putting way too much of his money in
the metaverse. Yeah, hanging out with this is the look
I'm afraid of calling. If I'm gonna be honest with you,
the first look, the paper vest is acceptable, Okay, all right,
Well I'm gonna think about this during this during a
little break here
