You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Here we go, blazing five in a couple of minutes,
live in Los Angeles. It's the Herd wherever you may be,
however you may be listening or watching. Thanks for making
us on a Friday part of your day. Big weekend Georgia,
Texas tomorrow. Get to that in about five minutes. That's
a big one, jamac It's interesting when you get to

(00:51):
weeks five, six, and seven in the NFL, A lot
of injuries. So this week on the Picks, you and
I are just sitting porn over injury reports.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
This one game I love that we both talked about.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
I think you like him and I just looked at
the injury import and they're two starting quarterbacks on practice.
A WHOA going on the road, Seattle.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Excuse me, I'm feeling pretty good, okay, all right? Off
a winning week, Let's not waste any time. The Blazing Five.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Let's blaze it up, Fired Up, It's Collins Blazing five.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Patriots versus Jaguars. Favorites win in London. Jaguars second straight
week staying in London. Trevor Lawrence's last three games, he's
been good. One hundred and one passer rating, sixty eight
percent completion percentage. The Patriots are a mess. They're projected
to start their seventh different offensive line. Ramandre Stevenson, may

(01:48):
not play their star back, their thirty first ranked in scoring,
worst ranked offensive line in the league. Turnovers are coming
a plenty. This team is falling apart. Jacksonville's coaching staff
is desperate for a win. Massive advantage at quarterback. Jacksonville
favorites do well overseas, especially favorites who have played there before.

(02:12):
Jags win and cover twenty seven to twenty Lions at Vikings, Okay.
Vikings offensive coach off of Bye rested I like Minnesota
lay the one and a half. They're three to zero
at home. Only team to cover every game, but their
defense has been equally impressive. They've held opponents under twenty

(02:35):
points in four or five games. They're the only team
to not allow a touchdown outside of the red zone.
This is Brian Flores. You get nothing cheap. It's very
new England Patriots in their prime. Nothing cheap. Yes, the
Lions are on a three game winning streak, but they
face three of the worst defenses or most banged up

(02:55):
defenses in Seattle. The Cowboys and the Cardinals take a deep.
Aiden Hutchison not playing Carlton Davis. Their corner hasn't practiced
this week, so the pass rush significantly less. A top
corner is out. Minnesota uppa bye this season. They are
first in a lot of categories. I don't consider it

(03:18):
an upset. Vikings win sees control of the division twenty
eight to twenty.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Four Seahawks at Felkids.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
The Seahawks' defense is now officially healthy. Byron Murphy, the
great defensive tackle from Texas, will play. Boyd Mafy will play,
so their defense they got a banged up corner one
practice one didn't. But their three game losing streak has
come against teams like the Lions and the Niners. Okay,

(03:49):
they're a good team potentially. Remember their offense has the
highest passing rate in the league. Can they throw against Atlanta.
Of course they can because Atlanta has no pass rush.
Falcons are on pace to have the lowest sack rate
second hoist sack rate in league history. So Seattle defensive
front Mike McDonald has all the bigs upfront defensively, Geno

(04:12):
Smith will have time to throw. And I'm getting three points.
Remember I like Atlanta, I do, but if you look
at them, a couple of their wins have been over
the Saints. They're dead and the Panthers worse. I think
the value is on a healthier Seattle team on the road.
Here Seahawks upset the Falcons twenty seven to twenty four.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Raiders and Rams.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
So I locked in this line on Monday. This was
my best pick. It was Rams minus five, I said
Monday on this show, I'm taking this to blazing five.
I said it five times. I don't care what the
number is. Now it is five. They're getting Cooper Cup,
Rob Havenstein the right tackle, a Jordan Whittingham at wide receiver.
They're getting healthier, and Stafford's been very good at home.

(04:58):
In four or five home games this year, he's been
one hundred plus passer rating. Kyron Williams eight straight games
rushing touchdown. So I like the Rams when they get
healthy offensively, the Raiders only win. Okay, they've lost three
or four games. The only win in that stretch is
the Browns eight and O'Connell no scrambles, four hundred and
forty dropbacks and totally immobile quarterback with a sixty two

(05:20):
percent completion percentage. They can't defend the run. They are
all banged up across the board. And now Devonte Adams
has gone Rams win pull away in the second half,
twenty four to fourteen. I'm taking five. I announced it.
I declared it on Monday.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Jets said, Steelers, Okay.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
This was another game I liked early in the week.
We waited on the line. I'm gonna take the Jets
minus one and a half. First of all, they should
have beaten Buffalo. They're the best two to four team
in the league. They had a season high in motion
in their offense when they replaced Nat Hackett, so they
looked like a modern progressive offense first game. Now with
the Devonte Adams, he'll probably have some red zone opportunities.

(06:04):
Their defense is great, their pass defense is sensational. They
have the best corner combo in the league against the
team offensively that struggles. Pittsburgh's lost two or three games.
They only win recently was Aid and O'Connell. You know,
the Purdue kid doesn't move pocket, guy sitting duck against
the Jets pass rush. They can't run the ball effectively.
They're passing offense is the Pits. I think it's an

(06:27):
inspired Jets team getting Devonte Adams, which increases and improves
Aaron Rodgers' mood. I think they should have beaten Buffalo,
but not for Taylor Rapp and tarn Johnson making the
interception of the year. They beat Buffalo if they had
a field goal kicker who can make kicks. They beat
a very good Buffalo team. You're getting major value here
with an offense in Pittsburgh that doesn't know what they're doing.

(06:48):
Jets win twenty seven to twenty lay the points. So
that's four favorites, you know, let's see four favorites. Yeah,
four favorites. In the Seahawks last week, I went favorites
as well. I think in most of these games, I'm
taking at least decent quarterback play and value. I know

(07:10):
in the Seahawks game, you're worried, but Atlanta is one
of those teams. Sometimes you have a winning record and
you're not as good as your record. Sometimes the Jets,
you have a losing record, you're much better than your record.
The Jets feel four and two, the Steelers feel two
and four, and I only have to lay a point
and a half and I get Aaron Rodgers over whoever

(07:32):
they play at quarterback.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Thoughts, Yeah, that Vikings game is starting. I've liked them
all week. It's starting to scare me. Aaron Jones if
he can't go call in That offense is so limited
without Aaron Jones. They did nothing against the Jets in
the second half in London. Without Aaron Jones, nothing Jets
got back in that game.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Well, the Jets defense is much better than the Lions
defense point without Aiden Hutchison, So what happens is they'll
throw more hmm again, the Jets corners and the Lions corners,
that's a totally different story. So the Jets second half.
Because Jets corners are the best in the league. The
Jets are allowed to do things and take risks that

(08:11):
other teams like the Lions as much as I like them,
But didn't it always feel like Aiden Hutchison was the
beginning and the end of the defense. They didn't have
to get it. I mean that if Aiden was like
taking TJ. Watt out of the Steelers, if you take
Nick Bosa out of the Niners, I still get Fred Warner,
you know, I still get some defensive linemen. Get I
get something about when you take Aiden out of the Lions.

(08:32):
They've struggled in the back end, Carlton Davis. They've struggled,
so they don't have their second best corner and their
best pass rusher. So that's different.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
I don't I don't hate these I'm glad you're rooting
for the Jets and we can have some fun chats
on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Yeah, rooting for the Jets.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah yeah, Okay. So you know I love my college
football Texas in Austin. All the stars are in town
hosting Georgia. So there are moments in sports France and
for individuals, there are moments that you have to capture
in order to be the king. Last year Texas beat

(09:10):
Bama and they looked much bigger, stronger and faster than Bama.
And now it's Georgia. Bama and Georgia have mostly controlled
college football for a decade. MJ for years couldn't beat
the Celtics or the Pistons than he could, and he
was king. The Red Sox for years could not beat

(09:31):
the Yankees. Two thousand and four, they did. Now they've
got four. Yeah. Now, I will say the Red Sox
money wise aren't the same team as the Yankees now.
But in that stretch when the Yankees and the Red
Sox they had to get past them. This is a
you gotta get past them. You're at home, you have

(09:52):
the better team, and I think to beat to be
the King, you got to beat the Kings and Bama
and Georgia heavily dominated this sport, and everything matches up.
Georgia's on line is just not very good. The Texas
on line, You've got three NFL starters, so and I
think it's a defensive coach Kirby smart against arguably the

(10:13):
smartest offensive coach in the college game right now in
Steve Sarkisian. So this is a real moment in time
for the Texas Longhorns. I like him in this spot.
Listen what we found out. Georgia got destroyed by BAM
in the first half, then Kim roaring back if Georgia
gets down this beat, this Texas defense is better than

(10:36):
that Alabama defense. Georgia can ill afford to get down
by a couple of scores because the pass rushers at
Texas and the defense overall is just better with the
Horns that it is Alabama. Joel Klatt earlier this week
on why Texas and the Longhorns are on top. What's
becoming more important than talent acquisition, talent retention. Getting your

(10:59):
current player to stay in your program delivers continuity and experience,
and all of that continuity and experience allows you to
perform at your best in the biggest moments. And that's
what we're seeing from Texas. They are owning the game
really in the tempo of the game, and in large
part they have been able to protect their defense as well,
which allows them to be the number one scoring offense

(11:22):
in the country and the number one scoring defense in
the country. So they're a complete team and they're at home.
But Georgia's a live dog. They got five star guys
and NFL guys all over the team. But I do
think the O line for Texas is so good and
the O line for Georgia is so average. That's the

(11:43):
difference in the game. Texas will be able to extend drives,
keep Carson back off the field, and those dangerous skilled
players for the Bulldogs. I think over time, I think
it'll look close for a while, but over time, you
saw them do this against Oklahoma. They have no the
Sooners have no offense. George's got a first second round
NFL quarterback. It'll be a competitive looking game, but it'll

(12:05):
look I think a little bit like Bama last year.
You just gonna see a bigger, stronger team wear a
team down. You don't see that in the NFL. Everybody's big,
but in college sometimes even among the big boys, like
you watch the big boys play and you're like, oh,
those are the bigger boys of the big boys. Like
Ohio State has more five star guys than Oregon. They
passed the eye test. Oregon's at home, they win. If

(12:26):
they played again in the neutral field, Ohio State looks
bigger and stronger and faster than Oregon. And Oregon's one
of the big boys. Oregon's top five. So I think
when you watch this game and you watch the size
and the power of that Texas o line, that's the difference.
Emmanuel Sanders former Bronco around the corner. He used to
be a teammate of Josh Allen. How will the Amari

(12:47):
Cooper situation worked? He knows very well the wide receiver position,
Davante Adams and the Jets. What's that going to look like?
How long is it going to take to get that
puppy reved up?

Simply Safe Home Security, changing the game, Active Guard, outdoor production,
cutting edge AI, real time monitoring. Fifty percent off today
if you go to simply safecolin dot com. Col And
he played with the Denver Broncos who won last night.
He played under Sean Payton years ago. He's Emmanuel Sanders,
a regular on our show, a two time Pro Bowl receiver,

(13:30):
over a decade in the league, in a Super Bowl
champ with those Broncos not long ago. So you played
under Shawn in New Orleans. He's outspoken, he's raw, he
doesn't suffer fools gladly. He's intense. But I'll tell you
Denver with their cap situation em Manual this year and
next is a bit of a mess, and he's he

(13:51):
looks like he's squeezing everything out of the orange he can.
What's his secret? When you played for him? Well, if
I didn't ever watch Sean, what's his secret?

Speaker 5 (14:00):
I mean, for me, Sean's a winner.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
You know, when I went to New Orleans, obviously we
had Drew over there, but I mean every single game
was like Sean was ahead of the defensive coordinator. I mean,
he's as smart as they come. He's seen a lot
of football, and he knows how to get his players
to play. He brings the best out of his players.
I remember when I was in New Orleans that was
during COVID. I mean we had myself was out, Mike
Thomas was out, We had so many guys that are out,

(14:24):
but yet they were still going and still winning. And
it's just a testament to Sean and his coaching and
how he gets guys to play.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
I mean, right now, you see what he's doing with
a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Yeah, I mean he has both knicks playing well. I
mean well enough to win games. And I mean he's
doing it and I'm excited. You know when we picked
up Sean. You know, I'm still living out here different
When we picked him up, I was ecstatic about it
because I knew that we now had a coach who
could go into the AFC West versus any reed. Now
we got Harpall in the AFC West and we're gonna

(14:54):
be able to compete, and I hope we do.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah. Vegas had him at five wins and they're already
at four. So I'm happy for my friend Sewn Peyton.
You also are a teammate of Josh Allen about four
years ago. So they add Amari Cooper. And what I
like about this is I think Buffalo is good organization.
He is a smart veteran who runs good routes. I
don't think they need an over the top guy. What

(15:17):
they need here is nine targets and six catches and
good on third down. Your take your takeaway on what
Amari Cooper provides as a veteran receiver for Josh.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
Yeah, I think this was a great pick up.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
You know, Mario the past few years have had a
thousand yards season with the Browns.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
I mean, five time Pro bowler.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
If you go back and watch the Jets game, you
see when the Jets played man and man, it was
kind of hard for guys to create separation. So you
bring in a guy Mario I still remember with the
Cowboys and how he run his routes. I think he's
similar to a guy like Davante Adams is.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
If you come up and press me, you better.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
Have your mind right to come up with I'm about
to give you some sauce that you probably can't handle. Yeah,
you know, And to have a guy like that in
the locker room is just awesome for Josh who he
knows if you want to play ass man and man,
I know I can go to this guy. But not
only that, they got a young receiver corps over there
in Buffalo, So to bring somebody in has some success,

(16:17):
bit to the Pro Bowl, half thousand yard seasons, somebody
for those young guys to look at it and be like, Okay,
this is how he's supposed to do This is how
you're supposed to do it, and that's how you become
a veteran and a professional. So I think it was
a great pick for sure for Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Now, how much can we expect because Aaron, unlike Amari
and Josh, Aaron and Davonte have played together. They got
the back shoulder timing down. How many practices, how many
games do you need before you believe Davante is a
real weapon for the Jets.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
I think it's gonna be a set because at the
end of the day, DeVante is a route runner and
only that, he's a guy who can create separation and
and then a's of the Football League. The difference to
high school and the National Football League of separation. The
margin might be this big right in high school, but
in the National Football League it's this big. What's the
problem with a guy like Davante is is this gonna

(17:12):
be this big? And then you've got a quarterback like
Aaron Rodgers's gonna put the ball here. So I think
it's gonna be all predicated on the play calling, honestly,
in terms of what routes he's comfortable with and putting
him in those positions for him to succeed.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
But I think he's gonna have instant success.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
Now, the problem is they're playing against the Steelers and
that defense is stout, So it's gonna be interesting. But
I'm actually looking forward to see it to see if
they can still have that same chemistry that they had
in Green Bay, because it'd be awesome to see.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Speaking of the Steelers, Mike Tomlin obviously drafting, developing defense,
That's what the Steelers do. But you know, Big Ben
leaves Pittsburgh, Brady live leaves New England, and those defensive
cultures they're lost at sea. They're trying. It's Trubisky, Mason,
Rudolph Russell, Wilson, Justin Fields. I mean, they're trying. They're
bailing water, are you do you like? Justin's foreign too,

(18:06):
and they're replacing him. Now he may not be all this,
but do you like that mover would just stick with
the kid.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
You know, and playing for the Stillers, the plane and
the Mike towm uh And I remember when Justin Filds
came out here. I went to the game when they
played against the Broncos, and I remember talking to uh
several guys on the staff and telling how much I
love Justin Fills and how he plays and how he
can extend plays with his legs and and not only that,

(18:36):
like just how he how he plays. Like I'm a
fan of how Justin Fields plays. But when I think
about Mike Tomlin and what he's built on He's built
on leadership. And there's not a coach that I can
remember who who had more leadership than Mike.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Toomland in the way that he led.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
And so when I think about that situation, I think, what,
what is the what is the reason behind you know,
even a battle with Russell Wilson and coming and replaced
Justin Fields, and you know, for some reason, I kept
going back to leadership. Now I know Russell, and Russell
is the ultimate leader as well, and he's gonna get
those guys going and from that standpoint, so it'll be

(19:16):
interesting to see how that how that situation plays out.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
But also I know Mike Townlan wants to win a
Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (19:22):
So sometimes I sit back and say, who gives the
Stellers a better chance at winning a Super Bowl as well?

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Because they have a top ranked defense.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Now they need a signal caller who's who's probably been
there before, done that before, probably won't Pinnick in those situations,
and I kind of lean more towards Russell Wilson, but
towards the future of the Stellers now lean more towards
Justin Field.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
So I mean, it's an interesting situation.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
But I think Mike Mike Tomlin when me and Antonio
Brown was there, he says, I got.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
Two dogs and one bone. I got two dogs in
one bowl.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
And then it's crazy how it's interesting how he's in
that same situation in terms of he got two he
got two dogs, but he only got one ball to
one starting spot.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
So he's trying to figure.

Speaker 6 (20:00):
Out who fished that who fished that position best for
this year's team.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
And I think that he's gonna do what he has
to do in order in order to figure it out
in order to try to.

Speaker 6 (20:09):
Win a Super Bowl, not just win or have a
winning season, to try to put out the best Super
Bowl team.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
So Troy Aikman was highly critical of Ceedee Lamb in
the entire Dallas Receiving Corps. Let's listen to this sound.

Speaker 7 (20:25):
I think the routes are terrible. I think they run
terrible routes and uh, and I thought that beyond this year,
and I think Ceed's got to improve and his route
running and as a quarterback, UH, if you're not certain
where guys are going to be uh consistently, it's hard.
It's hard to play the position. I see guys lazy
coming off the line of scrimmage. Sometimes they sometimes they run.

(20:48):
Usually if they do, it's because they're anticipating they're going
to get the football in that play. But if they're not,
they don't and it all ties together. And so I'm
not impressed with that part of it.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
So who's to blame now? I mean, listen, there's a reason.
I get it. It's a long season. Guys gonna have
bad practices. But when you get to Sunday, you got
to tighten up the screws. If you're running bad routes
knowing it's gonna be on the film session on Monday.
Isn't that a McCarthy issue, the head coach issue?

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (21:17):
Oh, you know when I listened to Troy words, uh,
he said, he said, guys are being lazy, but the only.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
Time I see him really running hard is when they're
getting the ball.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
And you know, I've had I've had the I've.

Speaker 6 (21:31):
Been blessed to play on three Super Bowl teams, and
I remember playing with Peyton, and Peyton was huge on
if you're not getting the ball, still running the route
full speed just because you don't want to give anything away,
or you never know, I might come to you because
you might be the second read. So that's what Troy
is seeing. Then that's just absolutely laziness. And it goes
the same thing in the run game. And when I

(21:53):
look at it at this Cowboys team, I mean, they
got they got to get their run game together as well.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
It all ties in, It all ties in together.

Speaker 6 (22:01):
So if guys are being lazy and not running off
the ball because they're not getting the ball, I'm pretty
sure that they're probably not blocking in the run game
as well. And so that's a mindset from the head
coach one hundred and when when I look at this
Cowboys team, I feel like everybody's kind of a panic mode.
But they're three and three right now, they have a
buy and then they have the Niners.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
But I think that that's just the attitude adjustment.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
That has to be be be said throughout the team
in terms of let's get our damn minds together, let's
go out and play some real football, and let's not
be lazy, and let's let's go hard every single play.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
I mean, when I proached the game, I had eighty plays.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
I said, all of those eighty plays, I'm gonna do
a fool speed balls to the wall.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
And that's just how I'm gonna play the game.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
So I think it's an attitude adjustment that they have
to make within the Cowboys organization if they want to
get where they want to be.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
I think it's interesting you mentioned that if guys are
lazy on their routes, as you said, Emmanuel, they're probably
not blocking on the run. So what I mean the
routes is for them the runnings of sacrifice. So that's
a real issue, and that's why they can't run the football. Finally,
you played under Kyle Shanahan. He has struggled with Andy Reid.
Many believe that Kyle's got the better players, but you know,

(23:13):
Andy Reid Mahomes figure this out. I kind of like,
even though the Chiefs are on a buy, I kind
of like San Francisco this weekend. Do you believe, as
much as they've won that that Kansas City stuff hangs
over their head? You were in this culture for a
year or do you think it's just every game is
different or could you kind of sense Kansas City is different?

Speaker 6 (23:34):
Look, I mean, I've been retired for two years and
I still have feelings towards towards Pats Mahomes and the
Chiefs just because they beat us in the Super Bowl.
So I know that Kyle's still thinking, like, man, we
got to get these guys, and.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
I why not get him twice this year?

Speaker 6 (23:51):
If we see him again in the super Bowl, we
got to get him again in the regular season, just
to get that nasty taste out of our mouth and
and to believe that we can run with these guys.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
We can beat these guys.

Speaker 6 (24:01):
And I got a feel that's gonna always that's sower
taste is always gonna be, you know, in Kyle's mouth,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
And Terrys of you know, Andy Reid beating him twice
in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (24:12):
But I mean this, this this week is definitely personal,
and I'll be room.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
For the Nighters as well.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Even though I love Patrick Mahomes and sometimes I find
myself hating on him because he is so good, kind
of like the whole Time Brady situation. But you know,
I love watching him play. But at the same time, man,
I want to see the Niners take him down.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Emmanuel Sanders, two time Pro Bowler, twelve years in this league.
It's a Friday. Good seeing your buddy. As always, I
appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
Good seeing as well. Colin take care with all right.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
I mean he said he's been under Kyle Shanahan, he's
been under Mike Tomlin, he's been under Sean Payton. It's
really amazing what Denver's doing. I mean, they bow knicks
did not play well last night. His mechanics are a
bit of a mess, and that was always the question.
He didn't have a big arm, really athletic accurate, but
last night his accuracy, I mean, they had they shortened routes.

(24:59):
He had a couple a bad, bad missus one in
the red zone, one rd through between one receiver and
before another. It was like comically bad. So they'll get
that worked out. But I love the ability of Peyton
to a sense quarterback's feet. He's nervous, he's got anxious feet.
Let's run the ball, shorten the routes. That's what great
coaching does. J Mack with the.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
News turns this is the herd line News.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Let's revisit that Texans Packers game. I'm very excited for
this one.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
I felt a strong conviction toward the Packers, but it
started to wane, as it does usually late in the week.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Houston is looking for their fourth straight victory. Their only
loss was against the undefeated Vikings. Dimico Ryans knows how
tough it is to go into Lambo and get a dub.

Speaker 8 (25:45):
Lambo is a special place. I told our players that today.
It's a special place to play. You talk about you
know the history of football, right it is. It's always
special to play there. And it's even more special where
you can get a victory in Lambo because they always have,
you know, a tough team. It's always a tough battle there. Guys,
we prepared, but I want our guys really you know,
understanding the atmosphere right and really just take a look

(26:07):
and look around and see how special that place is.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Green Bay twenty seven to twenty four.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
So you got it as a fairly close game between
two are thringy super Bowl teams.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Yeah, I think the two teams that feel a year
away kind of young. Both are a little young. But
I think the line sometimes the line's right. It's a
field goal game, Green Bay by a field goal. That
feels like the right line.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
It feels like the public sentiment is, oh, no, Nico Collins.
They score forty one points against the pat They're fine,
no big deal.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
There's a different animal.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
This Packers' defense has shown really well this year, generating
turnovers at a crazy rate.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
When you face a bad quarterback, a lot of three and.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
Outs, rookie quarterback making this first start.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Yeah, you get better field position, you get more possessions.
When you face the Packers. The Packers aren't going to
have three and outs. The Packers are gonna have eight
play drives and ten play drives, meaning your offense isn't
on the field. Meaning when you do get it on
the road, you've got to score. So that that's the
big gap. A good quarterback significantly helps your defense. You

(27:13):
have a bad quarterback like New Orleans, that defense is
shot by middle of the third quarter. So all of
a sudden, and I'm not saying Green Bay's got a
great defense, but a good quarterback and a good offense,
you have a well rested defense that only has to
play twenty four minutes a game.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
I'm trying to think back that Texans Vikings game. I mean,
Sam Darnold in that offense just moved through the Houston defense. Lafleur,
I think we agree he's probably a top five to
seven coach in the league. I think so sharp offensive
mind I like the JayR Alexander matchup against Diggs yep.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
And the safeties of Green Bay playing out of their
minds the.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Season't know, I'm going past here.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Yeah, I'm with you, all right? Next up, go back
to my Jets yep. That's what we do here New
York Jets football program.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
After the DeVante Adams trade, everybody's all excited.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Aaron Rodgers obviously a big winner, but we're looking for
a loser. Garrett Wilson, how about it, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Speaking on the addition of DeVante Adams, Garrett Wilson said
he's really excited to play with one of his favorite
players growing up, and added that if he loses a
few targets as a result, that's fine.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Colin. He hasn't gotten that rookie extension yet.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
He's still a young young guy. He's got a little
way to go. But I would anticipate Wilson's targets. He
ain't getting no more twenty two target games.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Well, that's okay, not happening. Remember, no double teaming, Garrett Wilson.
Those days are old fair and now that they're using
motion and they're using the run game, Garrett Wilson could
get the exact same targets. Remember again, when you have
Garrett Wilson, I can roll over coverage, more three and outs,
more five and six and outs. So now you're going

(28:50):
to see extended drives. And that's the key on this thing, Brice.
When they're running motion and giving Brice Hall, you're going
to pick up more first downs. So where you were
a three or a six and out, you're not gonna
have though, So drives are gonna be extended. Time of
possession for the Jets should gradually keep going up every
week now, and that means more opportunities for Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
That's I love that positive spin.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
I will just say last week was must win against Buffalo,
who did Rogers look at heavily. Alan Lazard one of
his guys, Lozard a hat is his biggest.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Game in the Sea Wizzard.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
He's not gonna get looks.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
You sure that's his guy?

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Come on, you know who's his Guy's gonna be Devonte.
The two best guys who are open more Alan Lazard
Devonte Garrett. By the way, Alan Lazard as a three
is a nice three. Well when Alan had to be
a two. He's not a two, he's a three, now
is a three. He just changes the offense.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
I think he had like ten catches on twelve tards,
some big number. And listen when he dropped. You know,
Rogers wants to get rid of it quick because he's immobile.
His first look is gonna be DeVante Adams. I'm sorry,
Garrett Wilson, I love you. His first look is gonna
be his guy. His second look might be his big target,
Alan Lazard. I don't know, Colin, little concerned.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
If I'm Garret Wilson.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Remember he is a guy who was a stutter at
Ohio State, caught a million passes from like Zach Wilson
and Tim Boyle, these jokers last year, and now he's
in line twenty two targets a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
I hope there's not drama on this, but the potential's there.
Final story, Colin, Ah.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Yes, here we go with our right as so, DeVonta
Adams gets shipped. Next up, Max Crosby, the owner says,
absolutely not, it's not happening. However, Max Crosby was an
immediate scrub yesterday, and you know what they're asking him.
Take a listen to Max Crosby on the trade chatter.

Speaker 5 (30:38):
I'm not here to rebuild.

Speaker 7 (30:39):
I'm here to win, So you know, I don't know
whatever that means, but yeah, I'm here to win now
and wherever I'm gonna be, I'm you know, I'm gonna
be here to win. So that's all that matters to me.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
They're not moving in wherever I'm gonna be. He's the
rock now and now again. If somebody gives you two first,
they won't. But if they did, if they gave me
a first and a third, first and a fourth, no.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
Let's stop it.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
They're not going anywhere. Colin.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
You can't kill Antonio Pierce's locker room.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
Why do you know it's not already dead?

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Well, because I'm watching how hard they play. They're limited defense.
Maybe the offense, well they're I think they're by the way, how.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Hard they played. Pierce said, there were guys making business decisions.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
A couple of weeks ago, and they sat.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
So there's some stories out there about how when McDaniels,
you know, obviously it didn't work, Crosby and Adams kind
of led the.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
Charge for Antonio Pierce. Adams and him clearly beefed.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Something went down Adams quit playing, then they traded it
has Pierce lost Crosby if he does.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
I think business decisions sounded like this is my take
Devonte Adams, because business means money to lose. He's not
talking about young players don't mind to any money. When
you're making a business decision, that's that's somebody that's uh,
they got a bag and they don't want to get hurt.
They're protecting something. A business decision. That that told me.

(32:05):
It was Devonte Adams business business those decision isn't you know,
a fifth round linebacker on a you know, on a
short contract, So that that's what it told me. And
Antonio Pears wouldn't be agitated by a backup linebacker not
running hard in a suite.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
So you're you're, mister, standing on business is business decision
the same as standing on business? Can you educate the
audience because I don't think they're the same. Okay, I'll
take your word for a final final thought here, Colin,
if the Raiders lose to the Rams, then there's a
world where they get smoked.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
Here, right?

Speaker 3 (32:38):
You you love this game all week.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
The line's going up I think two and a half
three points at that point do they say, we got
to get what we can for Crosby. The ship be sinking,
let's get let's get Crosby.

Speaker 7 (32:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
I don't think you do.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
There are certain players you don't trade. The Rams were
never going to trade Aaron Donald he could retire. They
were and they knew they would never trade him. He
was so respected in the locker room. You don't trade him.
You don't trade TJ. Watt.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
I thought you were the king of If it's not working,
move off.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
No. No, Max Crosby is working, but the team's not working. Well,
that's not his issue. He hadn't known it. He didn't
run it. He didn't quarterback.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
You give be a first and a fourth, that's a
done deal. Let's right this.

Speaker 5 (33:20):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
There are players I'm like when these Lamar Jackson, when
everybody in the media was like, oh, maybe they'll move him,
I'm like, he's the soul of the franchise. You are
not ever moving Lamar. He is the soul. That's like
trading Jeter. You could move off a Rod. You couldn't
move off Mariano or Jeter. There are certain players in

(33:42):
sports out wasn't herschel.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Walker, the soul of the Cowboys and the trade.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
No, cowboys don't have anybody that's the soul on.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
The way back when they traded herschel Walker, that humongous
deal that ignited the dynasty they had in the mid nineties.
Sometimes if it's not working, you trade your best player
and move off and get what.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
I'm saying, there's a handful. Steph Curry will never be traded, can't.
He's the.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Revolution, By the way, I have a good story about
uh No, and I can't say that.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Oh yeah, that's all I.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Got a right j Mack with the news.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
herd line.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Yeah, Jeter, you don't trade Steph Curry. You don't trade
Brett Farv complained for years. You move him. Brett Farv
was not the soul. Aaron was really good. People were
getting annoyed with Farv. You move him. That's different. There's
a hand and I'm saying the handful is small, but
far for years. I'm not going to learn a new offense.
I think he'll retire. Aaron and Farv guys complaining, you

(34:44):
move off them. Steph Curry's the soul. Lamar Jackson's the soul.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Well, you said Jeter. The Yankees were always winning with Jeter.
There's a big difference in that. Crosby and the Raiders stink.
They're not sniffing the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
You're going nowhere. You're wasting his prime years.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
If I'm the Lions and I feel they're a super
Bowl team, five or sixteens can win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
The Lions are one of them.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
You go get Max Crosby, who cares about two draft picks.
This is the year the Lions can get to the
Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Don't you do it?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
The Lions will not so dumb. Well, I don't think
it's dumb. I think it Lions Field eight. Now, if
the Lions suddenly go on a four game losing streak,
Let's say the Lions this weekend can generate no pass rush, Darnold,
justin Jefferson eat them along.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
But then the price goes up. I thought we were
specialists in seeing around corners.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Coward.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in noon eastern nine am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and The iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
It's a primetime showdown on Fox college football Friday as
Heisman contender Dylan Gabriel lead second ranked Oregon against Perdue.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
It all kicks off tonight at eight Eastern on Fox.
I might go Organ to win, but I think they'll
be a little flat. Where they favored by seventy, They'll
be a little flat tonight. So the game will be
a little closer in the first half than you think
it should be.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
By the way, we're head to head on Texas and Georgia.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
You like Georgia.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
I gotta take five points with Georgia. Come on, that's
a great case.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Is that our first half?

Speaker 7 (36:08):
Bet?

Speaker 8 (36:11):
So?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Mike Tomlin, Mike Tomlin, you know who's starting? Russell Will
We care so much about this awful offense. But Russell Wilson,
Justin Field, who's starting? Nobody's better in front of a
Mike than Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Mike, how did Russ slip this week? And he pretty
to name a starter? I am, but I'm just going to,
you know, keep that in house.

Speaker 7 (36:33):
But I thought he was sharp.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
I thought Justin was sharp as well.

Speaker 6 (36:36):
I thought we had highly productive week from both guys,
and then from the unit as a whole.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
Make is the scenarios still in play where you could
use both quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Certainly, I know to assistants bayed suggestions, you make decisions.
How much in collect does Arthur have on these situations?

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Just give me He's been game planning with Justin for
six weeks. Out where the decisions.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Well, after speaking with reporters, somebody asked George Pickens about
you know the decision. He said, well, he's putting in
extra work with Russell Wilson this week because it will
be his first start. So the story leaked a couple
of minutes later. But a Russell Wilson is going to start. Hey,

(37:17):
he's been practicing his high fives. He's ready to go.
His career has just gotten daffy. I don't know what
to make of it. It's just weird. Well, I think
I feel better about the two and four Jets than
the four and two Steelers when they meet. I like
the Jets a lot. It's just that's how I feel
about it.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
I should note the Jets announced that their slot corner
Michael Carter's out and DJ Reads a game time decision,
so two of their top three corners could be out,
could be a could line up for a great spot
for Russell Wilson to just go off Sauce Gardner, I
would assume we'll follow.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
When is the last I mean serious question, When is
the last time Russell Wilson had a game? It feels
just like the pop is gone, not not the elusiveness.
He can still move, though not like what he did.
He can still move short passing game, passing game out
of the pocket. But I mean, just ask yourself if

(38:12):
I said last big Kirk Cousins game, you're like, oh,
five hundred yards two weeks ago. You know, Geno Smith
well thirty eight first downs against Detroit, Baker Mayfield four touchdown.
Even the guys that we consider like b plus, they
have a game, they have a moment. When is Russell's
last wow game?

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Well, I think that speaks to the lack of trust
the coaches having him. I mean, Sean Payton, we know
one of the Hey, we're gonna run and win with defense.
Don't screw it up, Russ. We don't want you throw
him forty times. I don't think they trust him at
this stage. And I will point out, you look at
that Pittsburgh injury report, looks like they could be down
to a third string center for Russell Wilson's debut this week,
and a backup I think it's right tackle. So things

(38:51):
are looking shaky for Pittsburgh. And we know the trenches
matter more than say, you know, a running back injury, right.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Yeah, I mean it's it is interesting. It's a four
and two team against the two and four team, and
I like the two and four team on the road
at the four and two team, and I think it
you'll see it very quickly. I think the if you're
a Jets fan, the thing you I mean, a week ago,
we thought all the New York teams were getting it together.
Then the Jets lose, the Mets are getting just dragged.

(39:19):
The left tackle Andrew Thomas out for the year for
the Giants, so you can forget that team making the playoffs.
Forget about it. It comes down to the Yankees, who
lost last night, should win the series. So we've been
saying here that there's been a decade in New York.
Nobody is winning. The Knicks are promising, cross your fingers
on health. But we thought a week ago, look at
the Mets, look at the Giants, look at the Jets.

(39:41):
If the Jets lose, oh boy, oh boy.

Speaker 8 (39:45):
Not good.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
By the way, this could be Tomlin's.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
I don't want to say the biggest mistake of his career, Colin,
but this is a big move going off your quarterback
at four and two.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
I'm stunned.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
So it was big Ben Our three live in Lost Angeles.
It's the hurd
