Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Back here on the
Herd Power Hour. So we got to bring in a
heavy hitter. He went undrafted out of Missouri even though
he was a Heisman finalist, spent fourteen seasons in the league.
Chase Daniel joining the Herd. What's up, Chase? You had
a great career, spend a lot of time with a

(00:43):
lot of quarterbacks and teams.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
But I need to ask you about one quarterback.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I don't think that you played with him, but his
name is Aaron Rodgers, and he's in the media a lot.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Lately saying some quasi wacky stuff.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
But he actually went on a radio show or a
podcast and said the Jets are musty TV. I'm gonna
play the audio for you here and then tell me
your thoughts on on Aaron Rodgers and.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
The Jets be the lowly Jets being musty TV.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Yeah, all right, let's do it.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
We are must watch TV. And that's pretty obvious. Everybody
knows that. Whether you love me or hate me, people
want to see me play. They enjoy watching me play,
and we are a team to watch this year. Not
surprising as far as that's owen people. Yeah, that's fine, whatever.
I don't care what anybody has to say about that.
That's great. Uh, you know he was to me, he

(01:32):
was rough for the league. I get it, me only
playing a few plays last year. That's gonna be different
this year. And you know what happens when we play
him back this year with six great prime time games?
You know what are they gonna say next year?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
He's not lying. He's not lying. That's that's what's crazy
about it. Like I would tend to agree with him,
and I love how confident he is. I mean, that's
Aaron Rodgers to a t, almost cocky. He's he's got
it coming to him if they don't win some football games. Yeah,
I know they're in six primetime games, but I just
love the confidence. Look they've went out and they've they've

(02:10):
gotten a lot better. And he's right when he says, hey,
look I played six snaps or whatever. It was, like,
I have to stay healthy if he stays healthy, dude,
I really think that they are a legitimate playoff team.
Like that defense is always gonna be good. That was
the thing last year that they really really didn't have
was another quarterback but besides Aaron Rodgers, and they go

(02:31):
out and get it really good backup. But I think
at the end of the day, it's New York, right,
So anything that guy says, even wacky or not wacky,
it's gonna get a lot of play. I mean, NFL
schedule makers think that they are must watch TV, and
I would tend to agree with him. I'm really looking
to see how he's gonna play because even as last
year in Green Bay he didn't play great, his numbers

(02:53):
weren't great, but he's still got it in him. I
really do think that it's just can he get it
out of the tank? Can he get that connection with
Mike Williams's Who's Gonna Be New To? Which I think
is a really good under the radar signing. So I
love it. I love the quote. I think it's I
think it's pretty funny in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah, you know, Williams from your days with the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I do need to ask you, know, you've been in
a lot of locker rooms as a quarterback. We'ren't a
weird media age where guys are going on podcasts now
every week and they're saying some inflammatory stuff. It's not
all football, it's some politics, it's religion. I am just curious.
You know, you're obviously aware of some of the Rogers stuff.
I don't know, Chase, Like, what do you think the
vibe is in the locker room when Aaron Rodgers walks

(03:33):
in after he was nearly a vice presidential candidate on
a guy's ticket here?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Like, I have no idea what that vibe is like.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
But you've been in locker rooms. Can you think of
anything similar to you've witnessed?

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I mean not like this, not with everything he said
in the media, not that everything like he's been out
spoken about when it came to pandemic and whatnot and
everything else on the docket, which is just you could
talk really the whole show about that. But what I
have heard from people in the locker room is he
is really just a down to earth guy in the

(04:08):
locker room. Like he might be outspoken in the media,
which he is outspoken in the media, but when it
comes time to work, like I heard, he was really supportive.
He was in quarterback meetings last year when he was hurt,
and he's a fun dude. Like I know him and
I've met him a few times. We talked from our
days in Green Bay, when he was in Green Bay,
when I was in Chicago, and he seems like a

(04:32):
great dude. Now what he believes is, that's up to him.
I'm not going to comment on that that's what he
believes in, but I will say in a locker room setting,
it can cause a lot of distraction if you are
that way within the locker room. But everyone that I've
heard that's talked to him, he's really not that way
in the locker room, Like he's just one of the guys,
and that's really what you need, Like you got to

(04:52):
be a human being first and foremost, and I think
he is that he relates to guys, even though he's
on the older, older age. But I do think that
his teammates like him for sure.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
So it's one of those you've got to divorce the
art from the artist. You know, this guy might be
saying all this stuff but you know he walks in
his locker room, check your religion at the door, checked
all that stuff we don't need because listen, your Chiefs
are going through some of that, you know, with the
Rashi Rice situation and the Harrison Butker comments. Like again,
the Chiefs have had a lot of success, back to
back Super Bowls. Some of that stuff can get glossed over.

(05:23):
With the Jets, it's like, guys, you have made the
playoffs in like thirteen seasons.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
One hundred yeah, I mean for sure, And that's what
it is. With the Chiefs. It's like they're probably gonna
go and they're probably gonna make another deep playoff run, right,
And that's just how they do it, regardless of what
happens off the field in the off season. Now, they
have had a lot of controversy. I'm sure Brad Gee,
who is the media guy over there now once our

(05:48):
guy left to go to Chicago, Brad Gee is probably
not liking the offseason attention. But he's gonna get through it.
They're gonna get through it. And quite honestly, when it
comes to football, like they still got a really really
good team. I don't care about the schedule. Well, I
don't care about anything. Look that offensive tackle situation. They
need to figure that out. Travis Kelce, he's my guy.
He's lost a little bit of a step, but he's

(06:08):
still probably their go to guy. Hollywood Brown is she
Rice is gonna play. There's so many question marks. But
the thing about it is is they had, in my opinion,
more question marks on the field last year. Everyone counted
them out, and they played up to their potential when
they needed to play in December, January, and February and
won another Super Bowl. I mean, I'm here for a
three peat, man, I really do think. And you're crazy

(06:30):
if not you, but just people in general, if you're
counting out Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, like, that's where it
starts and that's where it will end at the end
of the day. I Patrick Mahomes stays healthy, Andy Reid
is calling up these plays. Matt Naggy, Steve Spagnola, which
was the MVP in my opinion of the season. That
was the first year last year that the Chiefs defense

(06:50):
was truly carrying their offense, and their offense finally got
up to par in the playoffs and went on that
run to win another Super Bowl. So I'm just gonna
see a lot of that. I think many people are
gonna be able to score a lot of points against them,
So they have that ability on offense to figure it out,
figure out that offensive tackle situation, figure out who is
gonna be playing receiver for them. You know, Hollywood Brown's

(07:10):
out there. I love that signing, fast, explosive. Andy Reid's
gonna have a field day with him.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
All right, let's pivot to the Packers. This Jordan Love
situation is interesting.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So we saw Jared Goff get paid big time fifty
three million dollars a year. He's I think one of
the hot, if not the highest, one of the highest
paid quarterbacks in the league. And you've got Green Bay
in the same division. Jordan Love's much smaller sample size.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
But it's kind of tricky. He is alluding to, I
don't know if I'm gonna show up. I don't know
if I'm gonna hold out. He probably won't. But you
don't want this festering in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
You don't want this disturbance, this distraction, especially when the
vibes are so great off last year's run. How do
you handle paying quarterbacks as a guy who was a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
You know, I'm curious this to your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Dude, pay them, pay him, pay them and the backups
not not just like Jordan Love, Like, the dude proved
he could pay. But you saw the issue. Lastly, there's twelve, thirteen,
fourteen starters that got hurt and these backups that they're
that they're paying, they're not paying enough. Now, you see
a lot of teams in the league going out and
getting backups. But when it comes to Jordan Love, like,
I'm a huge Jordan Love fan. Took him a little
bit to get going, but really him on the floor

(08:13):
really like meshed well together. And look, Jordan was out
here in San Diego. I'm in San Diego training this
entire offseason with Todd Dirk and who Drew Brees trained with.
I trained with because his girlfriend is a professional volleyball
player in San Diego, and so we got to hang
out quite a bit this offseason and that was really
the first time I had the interaction with him, and man,

(08:36):
like you can just tell like we worked out a
few times together, played some pickup basketball, like just shooting around,
Like the dude is an amazing basketball player. By the way,
don't worry Green bad. He wasn't going like too crazy,
but dude, dude can shoot. But I when I and
I tweeted this a while ago, but when I actually
worked out with Jordan, it reminded me a lot the intensity,

(08:57):
the enthusiasm, the focus of Drew because I worked out
with Drew out here for a really long time and
Jordan was so locked in on every single movement, every
single scenario, every single situation had a really good routine
out here, from throwing on the field to coming and
getting bodywork to working out. And I think that's awesome,
Like for me, like when you just turn on the film,

(09:21):
it's crazy Jmack to think that the Packers have hit
it right on the head three times in a row,
from FARV to Rogers to Love. Like I would imagine
that this contract gets done, it's gonna be north of
fifty million. I would imagine between fifty three and fifty
five million dollars a year. And he's well worth it.
That's but if you look at that, it it's gonna

(09:41):
look like a bargain in a year. Yeah, And with
the quarterback play the way it is this year in
the National Football League, really all there's maybe fourteen to
sixteen guys that you just really trust, maybe less that
you really trust to just go out and do their
job and they can play at a high level. And
if not the other sixteen teams, you're looking for that

(10:02):
guy constantly. Green Bay, you have that guy right now,
Pay him because it's gonna look like a bargain two
years from that.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
That's a great point.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
What about Tua Is he in that group because he's
kind of up for a deal as well.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Trevor Lawrence as well.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Yeah, I mean I would one put to I think
to A fits that offense perfectly with Frank Smith, who's
the actual offensive coordinator. I was with him in not
only New Orleans, but with my time at the Chargers
and obviously Mike Daniels everyone that knows there. He can
roll like he he's gonna get paid to. In my opinion,

(10:35):
I think Jordan Love is the better potential prospect if
you look five years from now, than Trevor Lawrence and
to us so, I think in my opinion that Jordan
Love deserves more money for them. It just depends on
when Green Bay wants to do it, how they want
to structure it, Right, you can talk about, Hey, here's
two hundred million or two hundred and thirty five million

(10:56):
over four or five years, whatever it is. But how
much guaranteed money you're getting. How many years is the
actual contract? You know, all these agents out there want
to look good, But I would imagine that Jordan Love,
in my opinion, if I had to pick, it'd be
Jordan Love.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon eastern non am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
I'm finding a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
There's no way you like this guy. You can't like everybody.
You can't want to pay everybody, Chase, let's go to
Daniel Jones and the New York Giants. Rough go for
Daniel Jones. Last year, obviously coming off the surgery. They
kicked the tires with Russell Russell Wilson, They signed Drew Locke,
they interviewed I think every single quarterback who was in
the draft.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Listen, there's no way you could possible.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
I'm not asking you to totally take a dump on the guy,
but listen, Daniel Jones is not a good quarterback.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Yeah, I mean, look, at the end of the day.
He hasn't played up to par and up to his
contract that they gave him a year ago or two
years ago, whatever it was. And there's a reason that
they go out and they signed my guy, Drew Lock
from the University of Missouri. Okay, that's why he f
Seattle because he was pretty much guaranteed an opportunity to
compete with Daniel Jones to be the starter. Look, they

(12:07):
gave him a five million dollar guaranteed deal, three to
four million dollars in incentives. You don't do that if
you think that Daniel Jones is going to be the
quarterback the entire year. Now, I wouldn't surprise It wouldn't
be surprising to me if Daniel Jones actually started the
season as the starter, because it doesn't put a lot
of onus and a lot of pressure on Drew Lock.

(12:29):
But there's a reason you go out and you get
a Drew Lock, and there's a reason why you do
all this homework. And dude, I was on NFL Network
draft coverage and I was hearing that the Giants were
willing and able and really wanted to move up for
a certain two maybe three guys didn't really get to
him passed them up, and so that just tells you
really all you need to know about the situation. And look,

(12:51):
if Daniel Jones goes out there and just tears it
up for ten weeks, then I'm glad for the guy.
I just don't know if he's going to have that
much of leeway to go out there and do it.
I feel like if you mess up a couple of times,
if you have a couple losses, then I think the
string's gonna be pretty short, and the least is gonna
be pretty short. You're gonna put Drew Locke in there.
And you look at like Mike Kafka and Brian Dball,

(13:13):
like Kafka came from the Chiefs, Like I really like
the Chiefs offense. Like what Drew Locke can do in
that type of offense, Like that's something elsewhere to look at,
not just the Daniel Jones standpoint of things. But I
wouldn't be surprised at some point in this season Drew
Locke steps in in place.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
All right, So a couple more so, you were undrafted
out of Missouri, you go to the NFL, and you
knew you were going to be a backup. Now, let's
look at Michael Pennix, who was phenomenal the last two
years at Washington, wins every award possible, looks like a
guy who's ready to step in. He's not like some
twenty one year old kid's I think he's twenty four

(13:50):
and now he's told you're gonna sit behind Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
For two years.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
I don't know how does Penix feel looking around at
bo Nicks, who's starting in Denver. I don't know if
Drake may starting, but Jayden Daniels starting in Washington obviously
Caleb in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Does Pennix have a right to be ticked off?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
I mean, I think that Pinnix has definitely the right
to be ticked off. But if I'm Kirk Cousins, I'm
probably ticked off more. You're in the honeymoon phase.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Of it, dude.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Like, like Michael Pennix Junior is going to play at
some point this season or next season. You don't draft
a guy that high after paying one hundred million dollars
guaranteed to some other guy. Like it might be a
two year deal. But I would agree with the assessment
of maybe the Falcons that that Pennick Junior needs to
sit for a year or two and just get the
vibe of the game. Like I don't necessarily think if

(14:42):
it's a good thing. If Drake may just goes out
there and just starts right away, you might hinder his development.
And I put Michael Penix Junior in the same boat.
Now JJ McCarthy for the Vikings, he might be the
day one starter. Jaydenon Daniels, he will be. Caleb will
and he will be. They don't have a choice. Like
I told a a lot of people coming out when
when I was breaking down these guys on my quarterback

(15:03):
breakdowns and like going through stuff like Michael Pennock Junior
makes sense to sit for a year beyond that Jordan
Love play. Maybe not as long as Jordan Love, but
it just depends. Like I just think the Falcons put
themselves in such an interesting scenario because look, you just
pay your guy one hundred plus million dollars, and the
second that Kirk Cousins throws two or three interceptions in

(15:26):
the game, that dome down there is gonna get really
loud for Michael Pinnock Junior because the arm just jumps
out at you. Now he does. And I think all
of these guys have a lot to learn about the
pro game. But man, that's just an interesting scenario to
put these guys in, and especially look, I know Kirk.
Kirk's gonna handle it like a pro. He's gonna go
out there, he's gonna play, probably play well. But my

(15:48):
thing is it's gonna get really loud down there the
first two or three interception game.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
All right, last one for you, Jase.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
So I'm looking at all the teams you played for,
and I was quickly just scanning the rosters of the
quarterbacks who were in your quarter Okay, is Justin Herbert
the most talented guy you've ever been in a quarterback
room with? And if it's not Herbert, who is it?

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:10):
I mean my first my first answer is absolutely like
from an arm talent perspective, But I was also in
a room with Matthew Staffs and Matthew Stafford. Dude, like
we're from the same area in Dallas. He's my same year.
The dude can sling it. But the thing with Justin
that just really jumps out at you is his arm

(16:30):
strength and just the arm talent that he has. And
you look at you know, his first year where he
ran Rookie of the Year. Then the last two have
been really you know, ribs and fingers and just like injury.
If he stays fully healthy, like I'm thinking, like for
sure gonna have a heck of a year and quite
honestly might get the Charges to the playoffs. And I

(16:50):
think that has to do with a lot of coaching
and a lot of right coaching. Shane Day is the
person I want to mention here because Shane Day was
in our court right there, right there. He's their quarterback coach.
That is Shane Day. And Shane Day was with him
in twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two. He was fired,
really sent packing, and that was the one guy Justin one.

(17:12):
He's a quarterback coach. Him and Justin have an amazing relationship.
I guarantee you that Justin had a huge deal in
getting him back here. He was in Houston last year.
So I love that development. I love what Harball brings in.
You know, everything that I'm hearing out of Chargers camp
is it's like, hey, we're like way more focused, We're
way more like vision toward our goals. And if this

(17:34):
has to do with coaching, like Harball, the thing about Harball,
and I hear this about him a lot. He wears
on people the longer he's there, but he wins, and
that's all that matters in the National Football League. So
I love this match.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I'm sorry he said he was fired. I just looked
it up. So who fired him was a Brandon Saley
after that playoff.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Game, Stale Staley let him go.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Jale led Justin Herbert's guy who he loved.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Yep, he fired him, Yep, let him walk. And that's
the year they fired them Party two.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Well, look, I mean again, I'm not you know Lombardi.
I'm not gonna defend him.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
I don't know him.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Yeah, but I would never get rid of Justin. Herbert's
a future of the franchise. And they fired his guy,
and Harbor.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Brought him back.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Harbor brought him back. And I don't know this for
sure and certain, but I would think that like Justin
had some type of saying that, because Justin and him
are like, I mean, it's it's it's a good it's
a good match.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
That's a good nugget. I was not aware of that.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Chase Daniel dropping bombs on a Friday before a holiday weekend,
great stuff, Chase.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Thanks for taking the time.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
All right, guys, thanks for having me on.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Wow spicy, I like that.

Speaker 7 (18:37):
I love little like inside info like that because it
really gives you a perspective of Justin Herbert's God, well,
we knew, we knew things weren't going well with the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Obviously I'm kissing Justin Herbert's butt, but things like that. Yeah,
Like all right, Coming up next, Alex Curry with the news,
but let's go to commercial break.

go to Alex Curry with the news.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Perfect one, No no turns.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
This is the herd Line News.

Speaker 7 (19:57):
Let's talk about San Francisco because the forty nine ers
suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs in the Super
Bowl this season, and it was their second loss to
Kansas City in the Big Game in the last four seasons,
and linebacker Fred Warner is still processing his emotions about it.
He explained that he's still not over losing either of
those games.

Speaker 6 (20:16):
Yeah, not fully over it.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
For sure.

Speaker 10 (20:19):
That one's going to stay for a long time. I'm
not even over the first one, so I'm sure this
last one. It was like three months ago. I'm still
not over it. Those things stay with you. I know
I'll be better from it. You know, I've watched it
several times and seen different plays that we could have
made to win that game, and you just got to
be better for next time. You know, it's not a
matter of it in my mind, it's a matter of

(20:41):
when when we do go in one.

Speaker 7 (20:43):
This is what you want to hear, and this is
how it should be. You should hold that fire and
that revenge feeling heading into this season. I mean, this
might be their last chance to make a Super Bowl
run with this super team that they have assembled. I mean,
they have all of the offer weapons. Brock perty who
has been as I know you feel the same way,

(21:05):
but he has been great in the first two seasons
that they have had him. He led the league in
passer rating last season. They have Christian McCaffrey who was
Offensive Player of the Year, George Kittle, Deebo Samuels, Brandon
Aiyuk who might be holding out for a deal here.
But they have a real chance if they hold onto
that fire that you heard Warner talking about, to really

(21:26):
come out and do something this year. So I'm excited
to see how they bounce back after a Super Bowl
loss to the Chiefs because we saw what happened to
the Eagles last season. They came out of the gates
on fire and then just fell off the cliff.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
So two Super Bowls ago, they were leading with like
eight minutes left and then Mahomes on courts the bomb
and it's crazy comeback. I thought this one was more painful.
Remember I'm looking it up here. They were up ten three.
Chiefs get the ball to get the ball to start
the second half and Mahomes throws a bad interception. Samford
takes over it to CAC forty four up a touchdown,

(22:00):
like all right, let's put this on ice, let's get
some margin.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
And they just could do nothing. They're still in total control.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
And then the punt flub where it turned it over
and that totally flipped the game. You know, I know,
Chiefs fans don't want to hear it. There's luck involved
in everything. They got a little lucky in that Super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (22:17):
Any championship team, luck has to be on your side
across any sports.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Forty nine ers guy Pups's achilles running on jogging onto
the field.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah, but you never see that stuff. I just feel bad,
I know, I know.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
But it's also like Kyle Shanahan has that chip on
his shoulder because he can't get past the Andy Reid
and he can't get it. It's like the final thing
on his resume that he hasn't been able to get.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
This is a super Bowl ring, so here, what's gonna happen?

Speaker 2 (22:41):
What they'll win the Super Bowl against someone other than Casey?

Speaker 3 (22:44):
And then Chief says, well, you still have a deep nose.

Speaker 7 (22:47):
You know, Yeah, we know how you feel about Chiefs
fans just off about that in the last gas. All right,
on to the NBA, you guys. Tyre's Halliburton left the
Pacers Game two lost last night, in the third quarter
after ever a previous hamstring injury. Now he missed ten
games earlier this year with that hamstring strain. He will
be evaluated today and the team is expecting to get

(23:08):
an update after that, but right now his availability for
Game three tomorrow is in question, and that is a
huge blow for Indiana. I mean, if you're trying to
find a positive in this situation, I mean, Indiana lost
its first two games against the Knicks and then came
back to knock out New York. But the way Boston

(23:30):
and Jason Tatum played last night, if you don't have
your best player out on the court, I don't see
how you can.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Win a game, let alone win this series. Yeah, that's
where he looked like he got injured.

Speaker 7 (23:45):
There and hamstrings are tricky, Like you don't just bounce back.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
The problem is like.

Speaker 7 (23:51):
He missed ten games earlier this season with it.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Yeah, there's there's one day between games. That's like not enough.
But if you go down three, that's a rap, Like
you're not coming back.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
What was the stat you said earlier in one hundred
and fifty three, Like you just you can't do it now.
Last year, the Celtics were able to force a game
seven after falling down three to the heat. Yeah, but
they lost, so it doesn't matter. Yeah, just it stinks
for Halliburton. But listen, if you're a Celtics fan, go
rep this game up. Yeah night right, you go up
through nothing. You don't need to get Porzingis back. You

(24:19):
get like eight to ten days off before the finals. Like,
I think it would be amazing for Boston.

Speaker 7 (24:24):
Huge, Go take it Boston, all right. Moving on, Bronnie
James has been the most discussed NBA prospect this year
thanks to his zad lebron He's not expected to be
one of the top picks, or even a first round
pick this year. But lebron draw has many fans talking
about many fans taking a chance on him. Now, Bronni
has attracted the most bets across multiple sports books to

(24:47):
be taken first overall by the Atlanta Hawks. I mean,
let's just say say what it is. I mean, this
is the Lebron James effect. There is no reason that
Bronni should go first overall. He did not have a
great college career. I mean, he he was recovering from

(25:08):
the cardiac arrest that he had during practice last year.
But he averaged four point eight points, two point eight
rebounds and two point one assists at USC That is
not a first round pick number. Now, according to Shams,
Brownie has over over ten workout invites, but is expected
to only visit a couple with the Suns and Lakers

(25:31):
being in that mix. He was the top nil athlete
this year too, earning they said, around like three point
seven million dollars. That's about what the thirteenth overall NBA
draft pick makes as well.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Yeah, I just who are these bojos betting on him
to go first overall?

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Is this like the hail Mary of I want to win?
I want to bet a little to win big.

Speaker 7 (25:59):
I don't know. I mean he heard Lebron Obviously, he's
very open about wanting to try to stay in the
league to play with his son Bronnie. So do the
Lakers draft him just to keep him happy and try
to keep Lebron?

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Is that worth it? Is Bronnie going to be happy?

Speaker 7 (26:15):
Like I wouldn't want to play. He's been living in
his dad's shadow his entire life. Your name is, he's
named after your dad, like everything. It's just it's tough,
tough because it's all because of his dad pumping him up.
That's the only reason we're talking about who You're talking
about him right now?

Speaker 3 (26:35):
No, no, I mean he's talented. In high school, he's
a really good player.

Speaker 7 (26:39):
College numbers averaging four point twenty points, two point eight rebounds,
two point one sense.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Like nineteen or twenty. You know, it's like that's.

Speaker 7 (26:47):
Not a first those are not first round numbers.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
It's a bi low opportunity. I know, in a first round,
I don't think it'll happen. But like you said, if
do Utah Jazz say hey let's go grab Ronnie, we
got a bunch of clutch claws.

Speaker 7 (27:00):
Uh huh.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
You know, bron in Utah to go see Bronni sit
on the bench. I don't I don't know.

Speaker 7 (27:06):
I made what. No, his dad, his dad's going to
be playing.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
So he's got more Instagram followers than a lot of
NFL players. Okay, his dad.

Speaker 7 (27:15):
His dad is a media genius, a media mogul. Lebron
James knows what he is doing at all times. Everything
is calculated, everything is well thought out, and this is
just another one of those situations.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
I'm rooting for Bronnie.

Speaker 7 (27:29):
I think everyone's rooting for Bronnie. But like first overall
with those numbers, no, uh uh, all.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Right, Alex Curry with the news.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
herd Line News.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
All right.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
So we have one final audio that I think is
kind of funny, and it comes courtesy of Dan Campbell
of the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
He obviously talks a good game.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
He's got that really rugged individual voice, sounds like he's
gonna go chop down a tree somewhere. And here he
is talking talking about Super Bowl or bust for the
Detroit Lions.

Speaker 9 (28:04):
I don't see bust, I see super Bowl. I don't
know what the bust is. You got to set yourself
up no different than last year. Certain things you gotta
do to really make that valid, you know, make that
a reality. So and so that's yeah, ultimately that's what
we want to do now. To do that, you better
win the division. You got to give yourself the best

(28:26):
odds you can, right, you need to win the division.
You need the best seating you possibly do. Okay, well,
how you do that? Well, you got to start with
where we're at.

Speaker 5 (28:33):
Now.

Speaker 9 (28:33):
You got to go back to work. You got to
do all the little things, which to this point our
guys have done.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Gotta love that guy.

Speaker 7 (28:40):
I love Dan Campbell. I feel like I would run
through a brick wall for Dan Campbell. So you know
his entire staff and team would do the exact same.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
And how about the hat grit Listen, everything lines up
for the Detroit Lions. That being said, there is a
massive difference, as you know, Alex, going from I'm the
hunter to now you're being hunted.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Every lines aren't sneaking up on anybody.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
They are too talented across the board, and there is
gonna be pressure to deliver.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
A lot of guys got paid this offseason. Alex.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I'm not saying they're resting on the lareas. They still
have to get to a Super Bowl, but things have
lined up. But it's just a different mindset. Last year
it was like, Ooh, these plucky Lions, maybe they could
do it. Everybody's rooting for them. Now they're like, oh,
they got the fourth best Super Bowl odds in the league.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
Oh yeah, No, I think I took him in Vegas
over six and a half wins last year.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
That's a good one.

Speaker 7 (29:31):
It was a great one. It's a good hit, paid
out nicely. But just that again, it was I think
they're gonna be great. That was heading into last year.
Now they have a big target on their back, but
they're also coming in with receipts. You know, they had
a bunch of situations that now they have a chip
on their shoulder as well, so they were able to
keep a lot of their coaching staff, pay their big players,

(29:52):
and it just it just feels it feels like it's
their time. It feels like it's their time.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Jared Goff, South Bay resident and the offseason, I haven't
seen I mean I've seen him, but I haven't spoken
to him. Yeah, apparently is the nicest guy in his
fiance is like a supermodel or something, and listen to
Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrating.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
There you go. I'm rooting for Jared Goff. I like him.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
He's a good story, right, Jettison by the Rams kind
of kicked to the curb for Stafford. You gotta feel
bad for him, and he has rebounded extremely well.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
And he's in a great setup.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
It fits like what happened to Goff in LA to
end up in Detroit and then to have the entire
fan base and the team rally around him the way
that they did. We want you here, you deserve to
be here. We believe in you. Everywhere he goes, apparently
everybody's chanting his name like he fits like what happened
to him in his situation in the NFL, going from

(30:45):
La to Detroit. He is the perfect grit that you
just saw on Campbell's hat fit for the Lions.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
It should be a fun season for Detroit.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
A lot of expectations, uh as there are this weekend, right,
Alex has a big birthday.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
The holiday weekend.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
For every half you got one guy on a guy
here on staff leaving to go across the globe on vacation.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I won't give his name out. He probably wouldn't like that,
but uh, everybody, have a great, safe holiday weekend. Thank you, Alex.
This was a lot of later
