Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, We're told you, Yeah,
we got some breaking news we're gonna get to coming
up here just moments from told you it is the Herd. Here,
Fox Sports Radio on a Monday morning, two pros and
a cup of Joe filling in for Colin LeVar Arrington,
Brady Quinns, Jonas Knox Here, you didn't get it right,
and yes we do have a breaking news, a story
(00:46):
that has lasted the entirety of the NFL offseason. We
knew it, we was calling for it for The show
has now reached its conclusion, as reports are now saying
the Cowboys for this crush it. The Cowboys and Ceedee
Lamb have reached an agreement on a four year, one
(01:08):
hundred and thirty six million dollar contract. It makes him
the according to Adam Schefter, the second highest page listen.
That's not accurate, non QB and NFL history, you know
all that stuff. But nonetheless, the deal is done. He
gets thirty four million dollars a year annually. I don't
know why Schefter does this. I don't know why he
does this. He knows he's not gonna make as much
(01:29):
as Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson's new deal is a four year,
one hundred and forty million dollar deal, which comes out
to thirty five million per year. This deal is a
four year, one or thirty six million dollar deal, which
is thirty four million per year. I don't know why
he says this.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I mean, it's it's almost like he's copying and pasting
immediately from the agent.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Like, hey, put this out there, because if you say
just everyone won't believe it. He's got to true.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
By the way, it doesn't make it a bad deal.
I'm just saying, I don't know why they get like
it's a great deal. And by the way, Ceedee Lamb
is probably right up there next to Justin Jefferson. But
I don't think anyone would make the case that Ceedee
Lamb has been better than Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Up top Jonas up top now if you listened earlier
in the show, Lebar and I we were trying to
predict how this was going to turn out. What a
sound like we have to sound from that? Yeah, well
we don't need to we could probably turn can we sound? Yeah?
All right, let's do the sound?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
All right?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Take it away? There you go. Well, I don't know, Brady,
I mean I disagree. I think this deal will probably
get done, and it'll get done by.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I'll tell you what, Jonas, I think you're correct. What
is Q talking about?
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I don't know. Seems like he's taking crazy pills. Ha ha.
Well i'll tell you what, Lamb. He's going to get
the deal done before this year, guys, and I think
that I'm going to double down on that. I'm going
to triple down and it'll be thirty four million dollars
a year for ceed Lamb.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I think you're right, Jonah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
You're not robots. That's from early, Yeah, from early. I
mean you you act like you're robots if you're talking.
What's wrong? Why?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
I don't know why you guys need to go to
such a lens? Would you guys get something wrong?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I really wanted to bleed in the the season I
was I didn't think it was gonna get done. I
didn't think it was gonna get done.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
But but you know what, Jamar Chase, you're on the
clock because I don't think I you you ain't got it,
because you ain't gonna get it. So I was just
gonna say I actually would make the case I uxed
next because it's a clear statement that if Citie Lamb
wasn't gonna surpass it with that deal, he needs to
take whatever offers on the table from San Francisco unless
(03:52):
Washington now has a better chance of signing him and
give them the dots in trade and maybe they're back
involved in the mixed given the connection to the staff, says.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
That being discussed.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Is that being tossed around like we talked I know
we talked about it, but is that being tossed around?
Because I think that would be one hell of a
move for the commanders to pull that off to get
Ayuk and to get him back with Jayden Daniels. If
people don't know they're they're connected through ASU when they
were both playing at Arizona State University, I think that
(04:26):
would be a tremendous move.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
How much do you have a front office that knows
the front office well in Washington. Typically it helps get
these deals done if there's a deal to be made, right,
So whatever the forty nine ers asking prices, and if
the Washington commandos have that draft capital or want to trade,
you know, trade whatever it is. Maybe it's player compensation
(04:50):
that you know that helps to get it done. When
you know John Lynch knows that in Peters well, so
that's one thing they have going for them in order
for that to be the case. But I think if
you're Berett and I U, are you really gonna look
at I mean, maybe you look at Washington say okay,
better opportunity, but are you going to replace Terry McLaurin.
He's probably still gonna be the number one receiver. So
(05:11):
if that's the case, you probably better off with where
you're at. And wasn't Deebo Samuel at one point on
the trade block or they talked about that. I mean,
if that's the case and you do sign an extension there,
I mean, you're at least gonna be the guy for
the next few years. I mean, Ricky Piersoll, they took
him back into the first round, but he still needs
to prove himself.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
But isn't it about fill and appreciate it more than anything,
Like the fact that I think he feels undervalued and
underappreciated by the Niners. I think you would will he
take less money from somewhere?
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Well, But that's the thing is that whatever the Steelers offered,
Whatever the Steelers offered was what caused him to go
back to the negotiation table.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
With the fort think that I think that the number
that the Steelers that would have thrown out was probably
more offensive than what the Niners offer was.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
It's like somebody breaks up as like I don't want
to go see what the scene's like, and they get
out for about an hour and a half, like, all right,
never mind, you want to get back together, let's talk.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I was wrong, baby, I was wrong. What do you think?
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I think the Commanders will probably be way more attractive.
I think it's more acceptable for the Commanders to make
a more aggressive offer for a guy like Brandon Ayuk
than what the Stiller is. If the Stillers may an
aggressive play on Brandon Ayuk, it does not fit the
character of what that that organization, how that franchise does
(06:33):
what they do.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
But the Commanders.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
On the other hand, they would they do fit that,
and I think that would be a tremendous pick up
for them.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Now is that.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Better than San fran No, If we're looking at it
at face value, San Francisco is right there at it.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
We know that they're right there close to it. If
Brock Purty can be the man that he's been, whether
you want to call them franchise or or game manager,
I don't really care what you label them ass If
he can come out and play at the level he's
played at since he's been starting, and maybe even a
little higher, this team is the team to beat.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
They get Trent Williams back. I hear there's positivity there.
Maybe I don't know, maybe he gets it done next.
I don't We don't talk very much about Trent Williams
and his deal. Think that's a very big piece, a
major piece of the puzzle for the San Francisco team.
If they put all those things together, they put this
the bit and get into the season. I think they're
the team to beat outside of Philadelphia in the NFC.
(07:36):
So if I'm Brandon Aiyuk, if they offer me less money,
I just take the take a one year like, play
the rest of your contract out, don't even take an extension,
play your contract out so that you can get a
free agent market of this?
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Is it right? This is the last one either they
can they g attack them, and I don't think that
they're gonna put a there. We're seeing a trend where
they're not putting exclusive tags on guys, right, So if
they don't put an excusa tag going, didn't he yeah
an exclusive? Yeah, that's why he's gotta stay. He's got
to play on the tay. But they gave they gave
the the unrestricted to a couple of what to a
(08:15):
lot of guys. Actually, most got non exclusive franchise.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Play this year out, play the last year your deal out.
Don't do any deals with anybody. Play take the chance,
bet on yourself, bet on yourself. That's what I would say.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I mean, the hard thing about that is, let's just
let's just say, if you are Brendan Ayuk and you're
not gonna surpass the total value of the contract, so
you're not going pass Jefferson at one hundred and forty,
you're not going past CD at one hundred and thirty.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Six, maybe you could the signing bontus.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
You know, maybe maybe you get thirty nine forty million
up front, which would be a significant amount on Maybe
it's a little short term deal, who knows.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Maybe it's only a three year deal. Maybe it is
a four year deal. However they figure it out. My
only point is you're not gonna surpass the average annual value,
since that's the metric that we all use to equate
if you reset the market or not. But you can
find other ways of doing that, whether it's guarantees or
a signing bonus that would surpass with ceedee lamb. Just
(09:13):
kind off that's the case, do it? I mean the
forty nine ers have money, so that's one way he
could get it done. And if that's the case, man,
it'd be really hard to play for fourteen million this year,
which I believe is his number on the fifth year option,
and then be staring or looking at thirty or forty
million and a signing bonus dead square in the face
(09:34):
and somewhere around thirty million a year if that's the
number that you could be making on a three four
year extension, like that's to me, I'm like, I don't know,
I don't think I can play this year for fourteen million,
even if there was greener passers on the other side,
having all that staring me in the face. So now
CD Lamb's deal is done four years, one hundred and
(09:54):
thirty six million, as reported earlier and predicted by LeVar
and I here on this sh show. But the conversation, yeah,
we're talking about but the conversation does now turn to,
all right, Dak is in line? Right? Is Dak going
to get his deal done sometime soon? Are they just
gonna let this thing roll out and he gets into
next season? And because the last time they tried this
(10:17):
he went out and snapped his leg and still got paid.
So it's like they can, they can roll this thing out.
But now I wonder if this does maybe speed up
the Dak conversation because reportedly talks you know, have gone well,
there was some optimism, yet still no deal for Dak Prescott.
So that's where we stand on the on the Dallas
(10:38):
Cowboys and your boy Michael Parsons is going to be
in line next year. There are what's he looking for?
Why don't we just get him on and ask him, like,
what are you looking for in a contract? We can
just bring him down I think anybody who's looking at
the highest paid player on the defensive side of the ball,
can you know you look at their contract? What? Yeah,
(10:59):
there you go, hey LeVar, See we can get him
to come on.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
I mean he's on with Central Time and they're in Dallas,
so yeah, see if we'll come on the shows.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Eleven eleven, y'all asked that eleven eleven.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Why, well, no specific time, and that's that's this show
I'm talking about, like in the mornings on our show.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, not hurt, I get it. But on our time,
which was perfect eleven eleven, it's perfect time to ask
that question. It is intentional. I'm certain we could probably
get that done. Yeah, get it. Get him to call
in at like what four thirty, you know, four thirty
Central Time something like that. Yeah, he's up in Micah,
he's probably up. Yeah, yeah, he's probably up, and he's
(11:36):
got a new one, so you know you might be
up changing the diaper jump all he does. All right,
Oh no, baby boy, good for him. Yeah. Now do
you guys want to uh also have the comment on them?
I will tease that whatever. No, you don't need to
tease it. It is going to be well you know it,
just it feels like there's maybe some question marks going
(12:00):
into the season for somebody else in the NFL. And
that's somebody is Deshaun Watson, a man who listened since
we're just being honest here on the show, filling in
for Colling here on the Herd, A guy that LeVar
has defended for for months and months and months now
is being us defense. One of the great great quarterbacks
(12:23):
in the league, and somebody who is going to bounce
back and have a strong competence now. He did not
play at all in the preseason. They made the decision
to hold him out. In the final preseasonquession, we talked
about that because look, they had a bunch of injuries
on the offensive line. The plan was to play, and
then the plan wasn't to play. He had to like
rest his shoulder because a soreness, and like there's just
(12:45):
been a lot going honest. So Kevin Stefanski did speak
about the decision not to play Deshaun Watson in the preseason,
but is pretty confident that he's going to bounce back
and respond when the regular season kicks off. I think
we've had a lot of time together as an offense
as a teammate with his team. He's a winner, continues
(13:06):
to win games for us. I'm excited for him with
all the work that he's put into this offseason.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
I'm excited for him.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Yeah, so he started, well, hold on, wasn't there a
miscommunication or something that happened again as to whether or
not he was going to play in the final preseason game. So,
like I guess when they were asking Deshan about that,
he kind of said, well, that's news to me, Like
that was sort of, you know, thrown out there in
(13:33):
camp that there was a little bit of confusion as
to whether or not he was going to play in
the preseason, even though it seemed like Stefanski had made
it clear like yeah, we're aiming towards the preseason even
last week, you know, he said, yeah, you know, we're
still planning on him to play in the preseason finale,
but with all the injuries and whatnot, we're just going
to take it day by day. But that is the
plan as of right now. And then you go back
(13:54):
to last year and there was also the confusion about
his injury, members Stefanski gave some message that made it
seem like it was what a pain tolerance thing, and
then they had to come out afterwards and say no,
it was more than that, and then the messaging got
changed again to they don't even know if it was
a hit. He suffered the injury in a prior game.
Like it feels like there are two different conversations that
(14:18):
are being had in one building.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
But there can only be one this season. That's I
think that's the point. I think the stakes are really
really high for whoever did that contract. Stakes are high
for the ownership who did that, allowed it and they're
paying its stakes are high.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Listen.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
I would even go as far as to say, even
though that money is guaranteed, if you don't want to
leave this game being known as someone who stole that
big bag, which some people will applaud it, I mean,
you won in a losing effort, didn't matter, But if
the legacy matter to you, do you want your legacy
(15:03):
to just be well, I was awarded the largest guaranteed
contract in the history of the game, but I'd never
delivered when I went there. I would assume that you
have enough competitive nature fuel that's driving you where you
don't want to come out of this game and be
looked at as someone that really really totally underachieved for
(15:27):
what it was that they were able to make in
terms of a contract.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I think I think the stakes are high. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
I'll continually say it. I'll continually say it. They cannot
move on from Deshaun Watson until after twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
It just financially it would be crippling in many ways.
I mean, I guess, tell me he's crippling them more.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Being on the team you would be to use setting.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
I mean, after this year, one hundred and thirty seven
million dollars in dead cap crazy, After the next year
seventy three million dollars approximately in dead cat.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
This aging crushed that contract. Now again, you could, I mean, look,
maybe they could. There's nothing to restructure. It's all guaranteed
already the town when that deal got done. Oh yeah,
a party.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
I guess you could do a you could do a
post June one designation and split that out. But that's
still after the twenty twenty five season, you have two
more years of Deshaun Watson, regardless of what you think
about him as a quarterback, good, bad and different whatever.
Off the whatever they think they've got two more years
(16:49):
before there's any sort of transition that they can make,
and that is all because of that contract. And so
as far as he was never gonna plan the pre season,
never and especially behind an offensive line that was banged
up too, by the way, this this training camp in preseason,
and so you.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Know, we'll see what they look like this year.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
But the hard part for Browns fans is this team,
this roster is in my opinion, probably the best in
the NFL as far as overall talent both sides of
the ball, the depth that they have as well, and
so all they need is him to go in there
and manage the thing and they can get to the
(17:32):
playoffs and potentially win a super Bowl. That's how talented
this roster is. If he's able to go in there,
stay healthy, just manage this thing, they can win a
super Bowl. That is not hyperboble, and it's not Jim
Schwartz did an unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Job with that defense last year. You know, the offense,
I think, you know, look, Chubb's gonna start on the
pup list, but they still showcase the ability to run
the football despite not having him last year. When he
comes back, that's the give this offense some extra juice.
So I just look at him. I say, people can
say whatever they want, it doesn't matter. He's gonna be
(18:08):
there for at least the next two seasons. This is
wild to think that the question mark for the Cleveland
Browns isn't the roster. It's the guy. They gave two
hundred and thirty million dollars guarantees. He's just got hopefully
accepts the challenge, man, So accept the challenge.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
This is the best roster ever ever had since they've
come back as an expansion team.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
This is this is.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
The best roster since they came back in nineteen ninety nine.
That's that's how good they are. That's how good they
can be, depending on how things go now moving forward.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Damn, they're there. They're going to stink this year. Oh jeez,
but I think they're going to stink. That's a hell
of a roster. They are the Navviyan of NFL teams,
speaking for hot water that never runs out. Go tankless
with Navviyan right now, save hundreds on a new high
efficiency tankless water heater with local rebates. Find the name
of your Navian contractor at tanklessmadsimple dot com, Tankless made
(19:03):
simple dot Com. Coming up next year on The Herd,
you were going to hear high praise for one quarterback
in the NFL and it had nothing to do with
the NFL.
Speaker 7 (19:17):
Next year on FSR, be sure to catch live editions
of The Herd weekdays at noon eastern nine am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio f S one and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
By the way, how about the fact that they're not
cursing on hard Knocks this year. It's good your kids
can watch it. That's right, watch it anyway. Damn no,
they don't watch it that he doesn't watch it? Ill
fet You know what I did watch? Yeah, The Herd,
(19:49):
that other Herd, Fox Sports Radio two Pros and a
cup of Joe filling in for calling. I watched that
Steve McNair documentary on Did You Finish It? Yeah, boy,
that that solved nothing. It's like Jesus, what they're just
talking about it just like they solved it. They were
just talking about it like there's just so many unanswered questions,
never got answer, So they weren't answering questions. They were
(20:10):
just given account Yeah, like okay, kind of kind of
knew all this, But man, that's a just a wild
story to think. And that's fifteen years ago that happened.
That's crazy. But spend quite a time, man, yeah, long time. Now.
Coming up here in about twenty minutes from now, though,
we are going to get the latest discussion on a
(20:30):
big time move that took place in the NFL earlier.
That'll be yours here on the Herd here on Fox
Sports Radio. So Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL.
He will not be back in college football. What's the
show cause that Michigan that he got, was it four
or five years? Yeah? Four years? Can't can't so? And
the clock starts now, a big whoop, It starts now, right,
(20:53):
it's not if he decides to go back, the clock starts.
The clock starts now. Yeah, four to four years. Well,
hopefully he'll be uh with the Chargers that entire time. Now.
They had a little bit of a snaffoo in Dallas
where some players got stuck in an elevator. This is crazy, man.
They brought in a mechanic to try and fix it,
(21:15):
and the guy couldn't get it fixed. So they were
stuck somewhere between like the third and fifteenth floor or
something like that, like crazy, but the difference there, like
I'm not sure which floor exactly they were on, but
somebody were like ten feet away from the nearest door. Yeah.
So they said that they had to remove tiling from
(21:35):
the top of the larry like watch one of them
superhero like one of those villains from Diard. Yeah, you know. Yeah,
So they had to climb from one under the next
under the next.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
And so Jude takes a little personal everyone out there
that's listening mt it just this dude takes shots at me, like,
I'm just contributing to your story.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
I'm just being a good hype man that you need,
and you want to take me, said Diehard. I'm not
look but right around the corner from a sports talk
radio that involves was Diehard. A Christmas movie coming up
just a couple of months from now for those of
you who just want to get everybody prep for that.
But Jim Harbaugh did compliment Justin Herbert and his handling
(22:27):
of the elevator situation.
Speaker 8 (22:29):
That's a shared experience, brought them, brought them closer together.
I just missed it, you know, uh, being on that
that elevator and It's like, wish I could have been
there with those guys, you know, and but uh, but
Justin Herbert was And the remarkable things that came out
of it was, you know, to a to a guy
(22:51):
you know tarhee, young rookie players like Justin Herbert is
a leader.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
He was a rock. Uh, you know, kept everybody calm.
Speaker 8 (23:00):
What Jerry Fouts told me the same thing, you know,
pulled me aside after they got out, and uh, just
how how uh how great Justin was and and everybody,
I mean, everybody kept their poise and you know, just
because you know, and getting those situations. And it's a
test of wills.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
What I love because if you do when you're his player,
if you do anything, he will pump you up like
you are a superman.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
It is the greatest thing in the world.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Man, I wish we want They're stuck in an elevator
and just there's no one else you want to be
dismissed with that.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Justin Herbert just missing I was in there with. It's
like he was a number of wave winning power ball
got just missed miss.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
He wanted to witness the greatness of of Justin Herbert
in that elevator stuck in there handling it as you know,
commanded people and helping people calm down. I will say
this we this happened one time to me when we
were in college. We're in Seattle, we were playing University
of Washington, and we all loaded up in this elevator
and there was way too many people that should have
(24:10):
been inside, and that thing doors shut, went to go up,
wasn't happening. Tried to open the doors, couldn't open the doors.
And the panic that you saw on some of us,
especially our bigger guys, like our offensive line their faces
was like, I mean you you really did have to
calm down. Something hit the call button or whatever. All
(24:31):
they did was they ended up hitting like some reset
button and we had to have a few people get off.
But at that point guys got off, and I swear
to god, they went up like fourteen like stories on
the stairs because they were so scared of getting back
in that elevator.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Again. It's I've never done that. I've always had phobias
of getting caught on an elevator, and they probably were
squeezed into that elevator. So I would have been in
that joint like we're gotta die. I can't breathe. I can't.
The walls are closing it. I can't.
Speaker 6 (25:03):
I'm coming home, Nana. I hope you there at the
gate to get your grand baby. I'm coming. I can't
free like I would have I would have felt by
I don't. I don't mess around with elevators. And if
I see a bunch of people go in, I count.
I'm like, I'll catch the next one. I'm always the
out catching the next elevator. Stairs. No, I don't need
to take the stairs. I'm just not getting like what
(25:25):
Q's talking about. That's like a thing when you're when
you travel as a team.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Dudes, like I got my snack, I'm telling I need
to get in my room, like that last dude he
got like a piece of bread in his mouth, piece
of meat in his mouth. Pause, and he jumps on
the elevator and he's that last dude that makes it beep,
And the doors are closing slow, and there's like the
doors don't want to close. The doors know they don't
need to close, but some way, somehow they still close,
and everybody turning looking at each other, and then there's
(25:50):
that one civilian that that's just a part of the
being at the hotel don't have anything to do with us,
and they're on this elevator with us. I don't do it.
I don't do it if I see too many people,
even in real life, like to day, if I see
like five people on the elevator, I wait for the
next elevator, I'd be like, there's all kinds of they're gonna,
we're gonna, we're gonna use our germs against one another.
(26:12):
There's there's I don't know what, I don't know who
you are. I just I just wait for the next elevator.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
If I could get on the elevator by myself, I
would I just that's just never been a deal for me.
But that would be crazy.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
If I I would have, I would have been Now
do we know the details.
Speaker 9 (26:28):
Did it drop or did it just stopuse If it
had dropped, if it just stopped, I think it had
been okay. But if that bad boy dropped and hit
that little yo yo little.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Dip on you real quick, nah man nah, they would
have y'all would have had to me the yo yo dip.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, damn. I'd have been in
that joint. Y'all would have had to I don't know.
I wouldn't have had enough room to like fall out
on the ground, So I would have just crumbled right there,
tore both my a cls, tore everything up, you know,
messed up my hamstrings all that stuff. I would have
been no good to the team. But eventually somebody's gonna
(27:10):
come get you, bro.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
I don't know, man, Like that's the entire area. That's
a tight space. You might as well be What if
you was hanging on by a thread. What if you
didn't know that that joint was about the and go
way more room in an elevator than a casket. I mean,
it's not that bad what it like, Like we're talking
about this removed from the scenario happening.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
If something like that happened.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
The first thing I'm thinking to myself is are the
cables gonna hold us? It's this guy, I know the
cables are strong enough to hold all of everything hold
I'm gonna be sitting there, like, are the cables going
to snap?
Speaker 2 (27:49):
I mean, you guys told me that you have elevators
in your house, Like, I don't understand how you have
a phobia historically Historically, currently I do not have one
California's cost too much, cost too much to get property
that has elevators, Bulla. You know Jonas is needling you
what he does.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
He's trying to make himself look more related the average man.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
I got a hold in my sweater. I am the
average man. Okay, where's your heart hat? Set? Spread over there?
Right over there? Yeah? Oh man, yeah, well kind of
hard hot you use it? Huh none, exactly bare back.
(28:34):
It's just ridiculous. How sorry to make it through the
whole Brady and I are trying to do a professional broadcast.
I'm sorry we're getting sabotaged here? Did that get dom?
Also a little behind the scenes? That wasn't you know?
You know you noticed it was no longer in studio.
(28:54):
Do you notice leave the lap man up and vanished
like a fart in the winds? Well, because they pushed
him out, they forced him. He's sitting there throwing his
hands up at me for what I said. We all
know our hands up at you for what you're going
back there? That hangover started to setting.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
He wasn't the medicine cabinet. He did pull something out
of the better suit, I swear to god. Yeah, oh man,
he seem fine. Yeah, when you wake up and you
don't have the hangover and then you get it at
eleven thirty specific time, it's like your body goes Dude,
I gave you three hours, Like enough's enough.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Oh man, Lee, if you could hear us in the hallway,
man shouts out to you. Man, that's thoughts and prayers
to you.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Man. Hanging there.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
We almost there, Almost almost time for the news update,
you know, almost almost there.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
By the way, I'm feeling better and better about Jim
Harbaugh Coach of the Year, this upcoming. This sets the
stage feeling better and better the elevator elevator year. It's
a unifying moment, you know. Yeah, sure exposes character, you know,
plus eight fifty on draft.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
I don't want to be judged on my character. If
I get caught in the elevator. I'm sorry. I just
don't just take the stairs. You just what are you
going to do if you're caught in the elevator. You
can't just take the stairs. If you're caught in the
elev they just.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Gave you the cheat sheet. You crawl through the ceiling tiles.
You'll be fine, And then you hope there's another one
to get into and if there's not, oh well, been
a fun ride, climb all the way up and then
figure it out or hope the mechanic actually get gets
it ready this time. So there's the there's the outlook
for the Chargers on the upcoming season there in the
AFC West, although it does feel like, you know, with
(30:33):
the Raiders, try out to think real quick where you'll
think they end up the Chargers winning this year. They'll
be second in the division. I think they'll make the playoffs.
They're going to win the division. They're going to win
the division. Thang, yeah, I got them win the division. Okay,
got nice? Look cool? The easy well, I'm just saying
the easy path is going to be take the Chiefs
(30:55):
to win the division. But I refuse to do the
easy thing, refuse to so be them. Casey two, Denver, three,
and the Raiders are going to finish last. No offense
to Antonio Peers and company out there. Feels like they
got some problems there in Las Vegas. Uh.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
I mean I think that the Chargers will finish third
bind Denver. I did say who they were on finish,
that's it, but they will finish third and and Kansas
City will win the division.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
You know. It is kind of funny though, so Hardball's
talking about you know, when they were asking him like, uh, skill,
what was the the quote he gave with Joe Alt
where they said was it skill position players or something
like that, and he said, well weapons. He goes, you know,
not enough weapons on offense, and he talked about Joe
(31:48):
Alt being a weapon and just having offensive limeman that
or what. He's literally nothing like any coach in LA
like from a professional standpoint, nothing like him. Like he's
he's a Midwest guy, but he's bringing that to l
A and that's a nice change of pace. Sean McVay
TV Star Flash, he's TV stars, He's all that JJ
(32:12):
Redick TV Star, He's all that category. Like Jim Harbor though,
comes in and it's like, no, no, no, We're going to
feature the offense even of time, like superstar level, like
superstar Hollywood type. What do you mean East Coast by
the way too, well, like like Hollywood type. You know
I'm saying he's saying Midwest. I don't think they all
(32:32):
from the Midwest. It's like some kind of East Coast
maybe deal, you know, you know what I mean. Well,
the Harballs were born and where with it? Is it? Ohio?
I don't know. I think they were, weren't they? I'm
not mistaken. Dang Tyron Leo was born in Mexico, Missouri, Missouri, Mexico.
(32:53):
What I didn't even know there was a Mexico in Missouri.
There's was born. We should come over some time, tang.
So he's bringing that Midwest style to to southern California,
which is a nice change place. That's the Midwest, isn't it.
It's considered Midwest. Okay, well, so there you go, missoo
all right, so I'm not sure what accomplished there. Basically,
(33:15):
just take the stairs.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
I mean basically, Jim Harbaugh has a hero at quarterback
and now we can crown him.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
We know what he is coming into the season. Yeah,
we know who he is. We let him off. We
let him off the hook. We solved it. Now what
would have kept him company inside that elevator from j
Lab Headphones, that's for sure. Find the blue box at Walmart,
best Buy, and more. Visit JLab dot com. It is
the herd. Here On Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,

interrupting our promo?
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah, you wasn't talking about you.
Speaker 7 (34:23):
You took those clips totally of context.
Speaker 10 (34:25):
Oh yeah, well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 2 (34:29):

you like what you heard today here on the Herd,
we'll be back. You know, very professional. It's a very
professional broadcast of the mornings. No shenanigans, just you know,
strict straightforward football conversation, like no tales like that, which
(35:42):
is this what we do? You know, just some professionals
here like it's just this is the way we operate
in the morning. So you can check that out there
for yourself coming up tomorrow six am Eastern time. Right now, though,
it is time to close up shop with this. No, no,
this is the herd Line News Ran music.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
Now.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
Yeah, now come on, we're doing Brady.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
Let's come on, let's stroll, let's go breaking news in
the NFL. Yeah, haven't heard ceed Lamb Cowboys wide receiver
has himself that new contract he's been looking for.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Get that money, gonna end that hold out.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
He gets a new four year extension one hundred and
thirty six million, one hundred million guaranteed that comes in
just behind justin Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Get that money, cuz show me the money.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
I just am glad that we have like straight up
dudes like LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knox. They called this
last time. We called it I when you're welcome. I mean,
you know, I don't think that's uh we called money.
You guys are dialed in.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Come on, man up top up here we go.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
I'm talking about man, I get cue on the same page, man,
God flat landing every We definitely definitely was an US
who said it's gonna bleed into the season.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
That was not just an hour ago. That definitely wasn't us. Well,
we may have something to that effect if you had
to bet. Right now, does the CDEE LAMB contract get
done before the season. I'm gonna say no.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
I just think he wants as much, if not more
than Justin Jefferson. Then I just don't see that happening.
So I'm gonna say no.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
I'm gonna say for his sake, I hope it happens.
I hope Jerry Jones gets the steal. Doune, he must
listen to the show. We were taken out of context.
I was taken completely out of context. Okay, and and
the productions was safe response by Brady Quinn move onout
a second, it's safe. Whatever you want. He was on
(37:45):
the fence. You're you're gonna hear from my attorneys. I
will not be taken out of context like that, splicing
sound together to make it sounds ridiculous. We were talking
about some Harriott Johnson. How dare you? I don't know
you predict contract, don't john It's all right, Music, I
(38:07):
deal with this all the time, all right. I think
that blip hey, hey music.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
By the way, you so you're working behind the scenes
with with Brady to do this type stuff.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Oh no, thank you.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
All right, I'm gonna kick your you know what after
the show lead. All right, I'm glad. I know I'm
warmed up.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
But this deal, I mean, look, CD's got his now,
so I guess all eyes in the Cowboys organization turned
towards Dak.
Speaker 7 (38:35):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
That's another question that's gonna get done. Let's hear a
Q answer first. That's gonna get done?
Speaker 8 (38:42):
What?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
What's your prediction to one thing that My prediction is
the next the next person you hear gets done is
Trent Williams. I think he's the next person will get done.
The reworkers contract to guarantee probably the next two years
of that deal. And that's the next person I think
you'll hear getting get done. Who who gets done sooner?
(39:02):
Are you or Dak? I think I probably gets done
sooner by you know how much Jamar Chase is set
to make this year? How much? Five point four? That's
something else. It's like the best bargain on the planet.
(39:23):
Probably gonna have one hundred grabs, you know. But hey,
do you think they're gonna redo his contract this year? Chase? Yeah?
I don't, I don't. I don't think they'll reget his
done deal or his deal don't.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Either, because think about it, with the higg with Higgins
under the tag, they've got to find a way of
making it all work, and I don't think they can
with giving Chase a new deal, So I think they
have to wait a year from now to get him done.
They'll let Higgins end up going to free agency, and
that's when it will happen.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
We're going beat is what they call upset all year.
Mar Chase.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Yeah, you're gonna be upset. Don't be my friends. Nope,
you don't want to be my friend now, I don't
be my friend later? I mean, nope, Well, they're won't
be upset.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
We still got some outstanding deals for wide receivers. But
one guy who's very much in the fold for the
Jets is Aaron Rodgers. He was talking to your guys'
friend Albert Breer about some of his off the field interests,
sort of becoming more outspoken about things not related to football,
and here's what he had to say. From Rogers to
Albert quote, I was leaning into that so much that
(40:40):
I wanted so badly just to prove that I wasn't
only a football player.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
What does that mean, the.
Speaker 5 (40:46):
Slight perspective adjustment I had was to lean into the
fact that I am a football player. So I'm thankful
that I'm a football player and that has been my identity.
And I'm not just on the back nine. I'm on
the eighteenth tee right now trying to finish.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
So you are a football player using golf. Okay, well,
that was a little bit of a quick contradiction. Let
me put it this way, is no one really cares
after you were done playing. Like that's just the reality
of it.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
I mean, unless you get into the media world, the
broadcasting business. Even then they move past your playing and
they want to hear what you're going to say and
what you're talking about what's happening on the field they're playing.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
So we see guys constantly do this where they try
to display that they're more than just a football more
than just an athlete. It's like, yeah, we get it, man,
Like I relate to that. I understand that. The truth is,
like none of the fans of people really care that much.
They just they want you to go help with football
games on Sundays. That that's just the truth.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Like that dude that was crying at the golf course,
you know, like, can you please get us a Super Bowl.
Speaker 9 (41:53):
That?
Speaker 2 (41:53):
I mean, like, do you think he like he doesn't
want to hear about a trip to Egypt? No, he doesn't.
He doesn't want to hear about any of that. Your
perspective shifting, Like what what are you talking about? I mean,
he's just happy to.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
Have I'm a sports media and I'm confused, Like what
are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (42:09):
You're just happy to have a coach? You doesn't have
a foot fetish, Like they're like small wins. They're trying
to accomplish everything. I mean, is it fair to saye
of oar? Has that been your experience?
Speaker 4 (42:18):
Like when you're done, you're done, You're done for like okay,
And when you talk about yourself in third person, people
get really really bothered and offended by it. You know
what I needed, I like, he needed to go do
something to put himself in proper perspective of understanding that, well,
he's more than just a football player.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
You know, you can't go on third person. I don't
think he did, but I just thought it was more
interesting than the topic. By the way, for the record,
you can't talk at third person once you retired. Is
what I'm saying. Maybe Brady Brady, you know Don Brady.
That is not Brady, Don Brady cam Be it. By
the way, for the record, for people that have not
heard our opinions on this before, Brady, Quinn and I
(42:57):
are very optimistic about the Jets this year. LeVar says
they'll be contracted from the league after the season, like
they're gonna be eliminated from the league.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
I don't think they're gonna be good now, don't I
think they have a nice You're exactly relegated.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah, they'd be relegated from the NFL. I did not
say this. You want him just sent to the cf'
our inaccuracies. At the end of the show, bar said
that we sent to the CFL. They're gonna they're gonna
swap out the county say these things. I just said,
they won't be as good as y'all think, like miss
the playoffs. The Rock is thinking about signing them to
the UFL. I mean, I'm just saying, I have a
great day everyone. I'm gonna leave it there.
