Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, we love quarterback
drama in these waters. All right, let's bring on Tom
Pelasarow NFL Network. Try to make some sense of Schadure again.
Tom and Tom with some of the greatest hair on television. Listen,
you don't want to overreact to ots, it's June. But

(00:42):
when Schiduur doesn't get first team reps all of a sudden,
it's WHOA wait a minute, they don't like him. What
are we supposed to make of it? You cover the league,
you know everything start with this.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Jason, he's a fifth round pick. You Shador Sanders, He's
a fifth round pick. And if you went around the
league for the I mean, let's just you know, equated
to the twenty three years that I've been covering the league,
you'd be hard pressed to find a lot of occasions
where a fifth round pick as a rookie was getting
first team reps. There have been guys drafted in that
similar area who eventually have gotten opportunity.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Sam Howell toward the end of his rookie year was one, and.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
It's a pretty decent, you know, case study comparison to
a Shador Sanders, a guy who was rumored, as you know,
first second round pick ight upslide down to the fifth
He end up getting his opportunity in a.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Year two, but in year one he was a backup,
you know.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Then throwing the fact that you've got Dylan Gabriel there,
who clearly the Browns had rated higher on their board
than Shador Sanders, plus the guy they traded for in
Kenny Pickett, plus the guy they've gone to the playoffs
with in Joe Flacco. And that's without even mentioning Deshan Watson,
who you know all likelihood is not going to be
available to them in twenty twenty five, but he's continuing
to rehab here. It just makes logical sense.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Now. Having said that, a.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Lot of times, when you're going through the spring and
the way the teams structure their offseason programs, you're installing
everything right. Your process of OTAs in mini camp, it's
a lot of install and then there's some reviewers. You
get into mini camp week, then you come all the
way back to training camp and you do it again.
So they're exposing him to a lot of different types
of things. Here, they're exposing all the quarterbacks to different things.

(02:12):
They're seeing how they react. I've said this consistently, Jason.
I think that's the important thing to remember. Let's see
how the reps are divided those first two to three
weeks of training camp and then up to and the
week beyond the first preseason game. That's going to give
you a much clearer picture of exactly where things stand.
Is it going to be the chalk starter, which you

(02:33):
have to say, is Joe Flacco again based upon the
experience that he's got in that system and they know
what they're going to get for him, do you potentially
see somebody else starting to slip in and getting those
first team reps?

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Have you seen it in training camp? That's going to
be the clear indicator.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
But you know the fact that Ota Shador Sanders is
not the top to depth chart.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
That shouldn't shock anybody.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Because regardless of what his name is, he's a fifth
round pick, and those guys just don't get spring opportunities
to show that they can run the ones.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
A great point. Thank you for writing the clarity.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
There's a lot of Schidure slash Dion fans out there
who just don't want to hear that.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Now there is a world where Pickett don't.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I don't see Flako, but maybe Pickett gets flipped to
another team that needs a quarterback. And we just got
word this morning that Shane Steichen revealed that Anthony Richardson
has a shoulder issue. Now they're not really talking to
in depth. I'm sure maybe you've heard more, Tom, but
Anthony Richardson will not be doing any activity here for

(03:29):
a minute. And uh, that doesn't sound great given his
injury history last year with the Colts.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
So my understanding, Jason is that this is not, you know,
a huge blinking red light type of awarding here on
Anthony Richardson. He had the ac joint injury last year.
He's been dealing with the shoulder through the off season.
Neil Alatrash, the famed surgeon, basically the advice was hey
went in doubt rested here. The Colts doctors have been
on board with the plan all along. Everybody's communicating here.

(03:57):
I was told this morning one thousand percent Anthony Richardson's
going to be ready to roll when we come to
training camp. But certainly it's cast in a different light
when you suddenly have a legitimate player to try to
beat him out. This isn't Gardner Minshew, this isn't Joe Flacco.
This is Daniel Jones, who was a first round draft
pick and his one games in the league's won a
playoff game in his time with the Giants, and somebody

(04:19):
that the coaching staff in Indianapolis really liked when they
were looking for who's going to be the right player,
the right veteran to challenge Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Now, all those first team reps you would presume.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Go to Daniel Jones in mini caamp, and again anytime
we're talking about these battles, they're going to be sorted
out in training camp. But the bottom line is, when
you're watching one guy get all the reps, if you
feel good about it the way that your brain is
thinking for the next six weeks leading up to training camp,
Daniel Jones has an opportunity to influence that here over
the next week.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Now, I do recall Steichen had a ton of success.
I believe Jalen Hurts and Philly and everybody thought, oh,
running quarterback, it's going to work. With Richardson, it really
hasn't so far. Is that cause for concern with the injuries?

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Well, Anthony Richardson, I wouldn't even consider Jason a running
quarterback so much as he was a big raw athlete.
You just don't get six foot five, two hundred and
fifty pound guys who have absolute candidates for arms. We
started thirteen games in college. It was a massive projection.
They're sitting there with the number four overall pick. They
weren't going to be able in that draft to get
Bryce Young or get c J.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Who's really you take Anthony Richardson or do you take
Will Levis. They had pressure on them because they've been
going the veteran route through you know, the Carson Wentzes
and Philip Rivers and Matt Ryans of the world. Chris
Baller needed to draft the quarterback here. And you understood
it from an upside perspective with Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
But you know, as much as.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
The ceiling was high, the floor was low, and we
really still don't have an idea of exactly what direction
he's going to go because he flat out hasn't been
on the field. When you're a guy who just needs
reps above all else, spending a lot of time in
the training room is going to hinder that development because
you're just not getting those types of opportunities here. So yeah,
that was certainly part of the the consideration was the

(06:03):
success with an athletic type quarterback. Will Levis is a
really good athlete too. Nobody's built like Jalen Purson, but
you thought there'd be some similar elements you might be
able to unleash here. The bottom line is Anthony Richardson
has missed so much time in his young career for
a guy who also missed time and didn't play a
whole lot in college, he's just he's a complete enigma.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
At this point. You know, I don't put the bus
label on him. We just don't know what he is.
And until he's actually able to stay on the field
and show some of that progression, that's where he's going
to stay.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Truck with Tom Pella Sero NFL Network. All right, Tom,
let me ask you c J. Stroud Also, we got
word this week he's dealing with shoulder soreness. Can you
for foot for football people, can you put that in
lingos to what that means?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
In June, Well, we had I.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Think report Sayans a peck, we had report Sayants' shoulder.
We got Jamiko Ryans going full NHL and saying general
body soreness. It doesn't sound like it's a big deal. Again,
we're in June, You're not playing games in June. You
got three months until this thing kicks off, and so
if there's any types of an issue, you're going to
hold back on a guy who as important to your

(07:08):
team as CJ. Stroud when it comes to the spring.
But we also know shoulder injuries have a habit of lingering,
which is also why you back off. Whether it's Richardson,
whether it's Stroud, whether it's anybody else. You back off
those things in the spring just because, yeah, those reps
are important, but they're not nearly as important as being
available in the fall. I would say, you know, let's
keep an eye on it as we get to start

(07:29):
a training camp.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
If CJ.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Stroud is ramped up to a full go within the
first week of camp, I wouldn't say that's a big concern.
If we get several weeks into camp and they're still
holding back on his throwing regimen, then there might be
a little bit more to it.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
All Right, let's go to a team, you know, well,
Minnesota Vikings that wanted an impassion rant about how I
believe in jj McCarthy. Hey, Jim Harball believes in him.
Kevin O'Connell believes in him. And starting to get some
pushbacks from some people offline. What are you hearing about
McCarthy's situation in Minnesota, his recovery from the surgeries.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
I mean, hasn't thrown an NF i'll pass yet. How
are things going for him?

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Well, first off, Jason, he's put them He's put the
weight back on. We all saw him on the sideline
last year when he's we weighing like a buck seventy
or something. He's put the weight back on. He's upwards
to two hundred pounds. He looks a lot better physically
at this point. And everything I've been told is that he's,
you know, essentially full go in terms of doing football
activities through the spring. Here now there's no contact in

(08:23):
the spring, we'll see you know how cautious if that
all the vikings are when we get into training camp.
But in terms of how JJ McCarthy has embraced everything
from learning the offense to you know, I was at
the Warriors Wolves game five in front and center at
center courts Justin Jefferson sitting next to JJ McCarthy, and
I said to Justin, you know, hey, like, you know,
it's interesting.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
In your next to him.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
He's like, Hey, I feel like I want to bring
him out in the world. The fact that Justin is
kind of rallying around him, he's at the OTA's developing
chemistry with his new quarterback. I would not overlook that
in terms of the belief that teammates have in him.
Certainly the front office has a high degree of belief
in j J.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
That's why they traded up one spot to go get
him in the draft a year ago. There's a huge
unknown when you're talking about a guy who not only
didn't play as a rookie, we didn't have any reps Jason.
I mean, he tore them Inniscus in the first preseason
again missed the entire year. There's a lot he had
to go through there was a second procedure that he
had to have in December, but everything from a physical
perspective is tracking now. It's just in an offense where

(09:22):
we've seen different quarterbacks Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold play at
least statistically the best football of their lives. Let's see
if JJ McCarthy could elevate his game once those live
bullets start five.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
All right, going off the board here, Tom NFC North
is loaded kindly ranked the quarterbacks heading into this season
in the NFC North.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
It's very tough. I think I've done this with three
people and all of them gave different answers.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Well, I think that the guy that you have to
look at is Jordan Love first and foremost in terms
of a young player who is on the ascent. He
dealt with injuries last year. I mean that injury that
he had in the opener in Brazil was no joke.
Took him a few weeks to get back, battled through
it probably wasn't one hundred percent, then got banged up
again later in the season here. But the Jordan Love
that we've seen at his best, the Jordan Love we

(10:07):
saw down the stretch in twenty twenty three that last
throw against the forty nine ers. Now with standing, that's
a really really good quarterback. Jared Goff is obviously one
at a really high level. Guy's been to the Super Bowl.
He's played really good football for the Lions. You know,
I mean, I'm not giving you a hot take here, Jason,
but you say one game with one of those two guys,
I'd say, Well, the guy who's done it before is
Jared Goff, but the guy you probably trust more in

(10:28):
the Skiell set is Jordan Love. So those guys are
probably one A, one B, however you want to rank them.
JJ McCarthy is a total unknown. Like I said, he
has not taken a regular season snap. He's only taken
preseason snaps in one game. Let's see where we are
with him when we get into the season. And then
Caleb Williams I would still put in the unknown bucket
because Mancy suck.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Caleb Williams played pretty good football last year.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
And if you look at really ramping up to that
game against the Commanders that everybody remembers for Tyreek Stevenson
taunting the fans and they hit the Hail Mary. If
that game goes the other way, Jason, it's the Bears
that are in first place in the NFC North. The
Commanders take a huge loss on their home field. Where's
the rest of that season go? The Bears didn't win
another game. Matt Everfluss got fired before they won another

(11:10):
game and Week eight team against the Packers. But Kale
was on the ascent. You saw it like weeks three,
four five. You saw him play it better and better football.
I am fascinated to see what Ben Johnson is going
to be able to do with him.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
I'm fascinating to see.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
What without Ben Johnson the Lions are going to do
with Jared Goff. I would just say for me in
terms of the trajectory the upside, knowing how Matt lafleuor
coaches him, it's hard to bet against Jordan Love is
the top quarterback within the division.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
But when we got multiple guys that we just haven't.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Seen do it, at least for any extended period yet,
that those rankings could be all over the place.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
By Stem all right, Tom Pellasaro, NFL Network, Great stuff,
Enjoy the offseason.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
I'll talk to you soon. Tom.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
You got Chase Naytom all right.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Good stuff from Tom coming up Next to Herd continues
on the five Sports App. Next on FS one, UEFA
Nations League, Spain versus France, Jamal versus Bappe. Oh my gosh,
that's gonna be a show. We will see you on
the app. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Herd weekdays and noone Eastern nin am Pacific on Fox

(12:16):
Sports Radio FS one and the iHeartRadio App.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
All right back here on the Herd.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Good stuff from Tom Pellisso I don't know about this
Colts quarterback situation.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
I guess we'll find out about the injury soon.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Let's go to Alex Cury with the news.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
No, no, turn on the news. This is the Herd
Line News.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Now we're gonna start with the Colts quarterback situation because
Anthony Richardson is suffering from a shoulder injury, per head
coach Shane Steiken. Now, apparently Richardson felt soreness from his
surgically repaired acy joint after an OTA practice last week.
Colts have an OTA practice on Thursday and then three
veteran mini camp practices next week. There's no timetable at

(12:59):
the moment for richard Since return, but the team does
not think.

Speaker 7 (13:02):
He'll require surgery.

Speaker 6 (13:04):
So Jim mc never a good sign when there's no timeline,
especially when it's on an existing injury. However, he was
told by doctors win in doubt, just rest it. We
still got a couple months for the start of the season.
But when you look at his two year career so far,
he's only played fifteen games in two seasons, four games
in his rookie year, eleven games.

Speaker 7 (13:24):
In year two.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
And he has a lookit competition this year, like kind
of with Daniel Jones there, who's been a starting quarterback,
has a lot to prove this season. But another interesting
thing here, Okay, the last quarterback that started for Indy
besides Richardson and Camp, should the Colts trade for flat Goo?

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (13:45):
I know, I know who wedged that in me?

Speaker 7 (13:48):
Yeah he did.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
I didn't think they should trade for Flack. Okay, let
me back up.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
So you were a big time soccer player, you had surgeries.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
I'm assuming I never had.

Speaker 7 (13:57):
Surgery, really, but I tore all the.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
Ligaments angle and you just decided let it.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
He did.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
I didn't know surgerated because I just wonder.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
You mentioned a good point that, like listen man, they
just signed Daniel Jones.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
That's what he hasn't been a starter.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
He has and he has wanted to prove. He wants
to prove that he can still be a start.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
If you're Richardson coming off of surgery, you want to
get out there and get your job.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
Yeah, but you're not getting You're not guaranteed Q one
reps right out of the gate like you have Daniel Jones.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
You can't.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
But you also don't want to push it and re
injure it because he was told by doctors when and
Dow rested.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
And it's like this guy's twenty two. He's but like
a tank.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
He's played, he's played fifteen games in two seasons.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
He's been injured.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Maybe not in all plastic tank, Yeah, a delicate tank.
I just I would what do you do? How is this?

Speaker 2 (14:50):
But I will watch Anthony Richardson, yeah, play quarterback.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
I will not watch any dings I've seen that.

Speaker 8 (14:56):
It's well, yeah, there's Richardson's electric Yeah, and there's hope,
Like there's when you watch him it's like, oh, maybe
he can do this, but can't he stay healthy? That's
also playing a really big thing for young athletes. You
like have an injury pass and his NFL career has
been injury pro so far.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Richardson's a guy who will throw a seventy yard bomb
in the air.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, and on the next play run over a linebacker
at the gold line.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Like that's what I want to see.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
I don't, okay, but he's got to also be healthy
to play.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
By the way, what do you think of the nickname
for Daniel Jones Vanilla Vick?

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Have you heard that one?

Speaker 7 (15:29):
No?

Speaker 4 (15:30):
What?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
I don't know. It was a nickname back in New
York for him? Was it because he was like running
memory and okay? Sorry, like Mike is abound funny the
first time I heard him?

Speaker 7 (15:40):
Absolutely not, I know, I'm okay. Let's move to the
NBA jack like this one.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Draymond Green might have had a hotter NBA take than
you this week. Take a listen to Draymond talking about
winning and losing championships.

Speaker 9 (15:55):
Would you want to be quite honest with you, I
personally think making to the NBA Finals is one.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Of the worst seasons you can have.

Speaker 9 (16:03):
Going to the NBA Finals and winning an NBA championship,
those two things are so far apart. Like, you can
get to the NBA Finals and not be close to
winning an NBA Championship. And I know that may sound
hard for people to leave, but those that have won

(16:24):
championships would definitely understand what I'm saying. And those that
have been there and didn't quite win would definitely understand
what I'm saying. It's those two things are so drastically
far apart.

Speaker 7 (16:41):
No, this doesn't make sense.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
You are the second closest team to get to an
NBA Championship.

Speaker 7 (16:46):
Would you rather to have love and lost than to
have never loved at all?

Speaker 6 (16:50):
It's like one of those, would you want to get
there and have a chance to win, or like, no,
you don't even have a chance if you're not in
the NBA.

Speaker 7 (16:58):
VI romantic always.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Always, So I noticed staff experience something when I bring
up my men's league at basketball.

Speaker 7 (17:08):
Uh huh.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
So we had a stack team with Richard Jefferson.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
We lose an unbelievable turn of events in the final
ten seconds, so we were like, we're gonna get the
next one.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
We go back to next year, a bunch of our
guys get hurt.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
We lose in the champion at RJ on your team
not the second year.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Okay, after the back to back championship losses. We took
off a season.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
I couldn't take it. Losing in the championship is so painful.
You lose in the first round, it's like who cares?

Speaker 6 (17:32):
No, But I can under that's being a sore loser.
You have to experience loss to know what it takes
to win. That's when you build up your strength. It's
when you're down in the ditch and when you've experienced.
I don't want to feel that feeling again. I never
want to feel that lost feeling again. So I'm gonna
do everything in my power not to feel that loss.
And that's added motivation to get back and actually win

(17:55):
a championship.

Speaker 7 (17:56):
You're running away from.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
No No. We came back pushing so hard.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Four of us, including myself, got injuries, and at this point,
I'm just so ticked. We dropped out of the league
this season, and it's disappointing because the team we usually
smashed on defeated. They're gonna whin and nobody cares that.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
This is weird.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I understand where Draymond's coming from. I know people will disagree.
I didn't look on to see this on the line
or online or people just crushing him for this.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
I haven't I haven't looked at the comments, but I
don't agree with what he's saying. I think that's the
wrong mentality. You want it, like if if you want
to reach the top of the mountain, you got to
get close and you got to try, and you gotta
fail getting there. Like, oh, I've only even knocked out
of the first round. Oh wait, I've made it to
the finals, haven't.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
Well, yeah, I think I know what.

Speaker 7 (18:41):
It tastes to get there.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
I think that's a little different.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
I think it if you lose in the first round,
it it's almost better.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
If that makes any sense. No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
If you go to the finals and lose, it is
so painful.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Yeah, but then it's also it should motivate you to
get back and do it better next.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
But yeah, the motivation, sure, But like.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
I've lost in finals, I've won finals, I've lost in
finals in my college career. You never want to experience
that again. So you're gonna do everything in your power
to not feel that way and use it as motivation
to get back.

Speaker 9 (19:14):
Right.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Yeah, it's just a tough discuss. Can we get Draymond on?
Can you talk to him as your guy.

Speaker 7 (19:21):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
I like that on it. That's an interesting topic.

Speaker 7 (19:24):
It is. It's very interesting.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
I'm on the other side of You're obviously on his side.
I'm on the other side. But let's wrap things up
in Buffalo. Bill's quarterback Josh Allen had the best season
of his career last year, but I've had this. Coordinator
Joe Brady says that Josh is even more driven than
he was last year. Take a listen Grady to talk
about the raining MVT.

Speaker 10 (19:43):
What I love about Josh Josh is his demeanor, his approach,
his mindset. I mean, it is as impressive as it
gets and it's infectious around that around the team. So
when he walks in the building, you don't see a
guy that you don't feel the guy I just won
the MVP last year, and it's like, oh, you know what,
like I'm good. You feel a guy that's hungry and

(20:05):
is trying to figure out ways to get better and
embracing his new teammates.

Speaker 6 (20:09):
Josh Allen and the Bills are favored in every game
this year. This is the year to get it done.
The target is on their back. We know how great
Josh Allen is obviously he's the reigning MVP.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
But he needs to be better in the postseason.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
He's seven and six in the playoffs with those losses
to Burrow and Mahalmes. He needs to get over that. Hup,
that's what has happened. He got to be better in
the postseason.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Let me ask you, so, I'm sure you saw the
news Josh Allen got married, yeah, last weekend, to this actress,
Haley Steinfeld. H So, you know, you hear a lot
of stuff. He apparently is buying a place out here
in the valley. He's gonna join this golf course over.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
I just wonder it's not a distraction. Okay, That's where
I was going to you.

Speaker 7 (20:55):
No, no, no, no, because there.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
Are some relationships where it feels like a distraction.

Speaker 7 (21:00):
She works just as hard as him.

Speaker 6 (21:01):
She's a working actress, and he's talked about the support
and love that she's helped provided him that made him
a better player.

Speaker 7 (21:09):
On the field.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
When you hear that and you have a supportive partner
who pushes you to be better, that's when you're at
your best. I mean, he was what he got engaged
last year. She was publicly the biggest part of his
life last year and he had the best season of
his career. So I don't see it being a distraction.
I see it being support, which is great for a guy.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
Like Josh Allen who can handle that.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Yeah, I'm all in on the Bills. I think they
win the Super Bowl. Dang, anybody told Chief, anybody the
Chief please?

Speaker 6 (21:41):
I mean, you don't even have the Chiefs making the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
It's you're wild, ok Alex with the news.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by The
Herd Line News.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
All right, folks, the final segment today, So you're gonna
love this so obviously that we call it best for Last.
And they handed me a sheet and it said Kevin
or keV Out?

Speaker 5 (22:08):
Who would you take? Kevin Durant, Kevin or keV Out.
You're gonna love that. It's next door on Herd.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
That's Covino and Rich back here on the Herd.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, they tell me I can't talk about it, so
I won't. Anyways, we got the NBA Finals coming up
starting tonight. Alex, I know you're excited. But there's a
bigger story of foot and that is this gentleman behind me,
Kevin Durant bigger. I think it's bigger than the NBA Finals. No,
he's a top fifteen player all the time. All right, wait, wait,

(23:46):
that's a hot take. You think the Pacers thunder is
more excited than KD And just say.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
That, Katie, where he's gonna end up is bigger than
the NBA Finals is a hot take.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I thought that was like lukewarm, but you could call
it huh And of course yes, after my yesterday, Kad
went on Instagram and wrote a little reply being angry.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
This is what he does.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
So our guys came up with something, keV In or
keV Out?

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Who would you who would you rather take next season
on your team?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Alex Is gonna ask me current NBA star and I'll
decide Kevin or keV Out?

Speaker 6 (24:20):
All right, who would you rather have on your team?
Kad or Karl Anthony Town?

Speaker 5 (24:25):
Why are we starting there? I go, we'd guy Schuck,
So shut damn it. Okay, So I'm a Nick's guy.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
Get done.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
I'm not saying I want this train, but I would
rather have Kevin Durant than Karl Anthony Town's very very
slightly after what I don't want the trade. I don't
want the trade, but I would rather have kd Does
that make any sense?

Speaker 9 (24:49):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (24:50):
After what you just saw in the last round you
went off about his defense.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
It was bad that.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Yeah, something's going on inside that team, definitely, and it
sounds like a lot of fingers are being pointed in.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
Yeah, okay, next.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
Up, would you rather have Kati or Steph Curry?

Speaker 7 (25:06):
Alex, this is your layout?

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Come on, Steph Curry. Obviously.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
So I'm playing in this men's league and they what
jersey numbers do you want?

Speaker 7 (25:14):
You know?

Speaker 5 (25:15):
No, there's like a real woman And I was like
thirty obviously for the chef. I don't. This is no debate.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Steph Curry Like, yeah, I don't. I think you the
audience are a thousand percent with me.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Yeah right, oh yeah I am.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
But I'm a big Curry fan. I'm a Lebron and
Curry fan. Like those are my guys.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
You don't like Katie?

Speaker 7 (25:35):
No, I'm just saying those are my two favorite plays.
Oh yeah. Also like, well Curry is my cousin? Is Sga?
What are your favorites going.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
No, I'm not training again, I'm not all right?

Speaker 6 (25:45):
Okay, who would you rather have on your team next season?

Speaker 7 (25:48):
Katie or Jah Moran?

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
I'm gonna go Kevin Durant. John Moran still a bit
of a mess off the court. Let's see if you
can have an off season? Yeah, not making negative headlines? Yeah,
I would go kdither He's thirty seven. John Morant is
still an electric player, sells a lot of merch.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
He could dunk really cool? Does that even makes it?
He's a great dunker. I'm sorry, I can rewind he's
a great dunker.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
But I don't know the Moran's game is going to
age particularly well. He's like a little bit of Russell Westbrook.
Can't shoot flying all around.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
By the way, did you see the report Westbrook may
go to Europe? No crazy? Anyways, all right, I'll go.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
Kevin duran Okay, who would you rather have on your
team next season?

Speaker 7 (26:35):
Kd or Tyrese Haliburton.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
I gotta go, what the HELLY give me Tire's Halliburton.
I'm a big fan.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
I think he's encroaching top ten player in the league. Oh,
I think he can show well in the finals. Alex Yeah,
I mean he's eleven years younger than KD obviously, And
the biggest knock for me on Durant is he doesn't
make everyone around him better.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
That's why I love Luca. Yeah, That's why I love Curry,
and that's why I love Haliburt.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Well, we heard we played the Lebron sound earlier right
where he was talking about guys want to fight for
him because he has that energy on the court and.

Speaker 7 (27:07):
That that's that's such a key part to a leader.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
Not only can you lead by example, but do you
motivate everyone around you to elevate their game?

Speaker 5 (27:13):
Year one hundred?

Speaker 6 (27:15):
Okay, who would you rather have in your team next season?
KD or Joel and b KD? That's no, I don't
even know what a beads future in the NBA is.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Honestly, the guy goes to the Olympics, can barely play,
has like a good quarter, maybe a good half, and
now he's like a nodal nonfactory needs the surgery, like
Kevin Durant in a heartbeat.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
Sorry, okay, who.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
Would you rather have in your team next season? KD
or Jimmy Butler?

Speaker 2 (27:41):
A little tougher. I'm gonna go Jimmy Buckets. It's interesting
because the words could have gone, so.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
I'm saying they could have been in a similar situation.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
I think Jimmy Butler was the right call. Remember they
win in the first round against Houston, if they win
Game one against Minnesota, if Curry doesn't get hurt, they're
probably fine. Jimmy Butler is a two as a one.
He took the Heat to the finals twice. Like, yeah,
I go Jimmy Butler over KD next season.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
Okay, Kati or Kawhi Leonard.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
This was the toughest, the toughest one for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Okay, because Kawhi when he was healthy, looked really good.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Remember they pushed Deenverer to seven.

Speaker 7 (28:17):
Did the healthy Ben is Achilles?

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Heel, Yeah, Kimmy Kevin doing.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
That.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
I know that's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I wonder if Kawhi has like a big market, because like,
you don't know what you're trading.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Like with KD, you.

Speaker 7 (28:30):
Know, sure, how many games are you going to get up?

Speaker 6 (28:33):
And it's usually end of the season playoffs, which is
the worst time to be heard.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
At least KD plays they may get what by Anthony
Edwards and Jason Tatum.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
But at least he's played, so kd over Kawhi.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
All right, let's wrap it up with the big one.
Who would you rather have on your team next season?
Kati or Lebron?

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Lebron? I five give me Lebron James.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
You know, forty years old, the stuff he's doing in
this league, Alex.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
I am na a Lebron fan.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
You don't want to like.

Speaker 7 (29:02):
I don't understand the hate I do that.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
I'm on record, He's the greatest player in NBA history.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
I've been saying that since he brought the title to
the Lakers in the bubble. Anywhere he goes, he's the
system and everyone works around him when it.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
Doesn't matter a coach franchises. Yeah, guys, that's a big deal.
That is a huge deal. Now I'm a huge Lebron fan.
And when he brings to the franchise too.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
So we got a full screen if you were watching
or missed a couple, keV in or keV out, I
did take Katie over kat Kadi, over Jah Morant, over.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
Embid and over Kawhi.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah two of those are injury related, but actually and
one's off the court, and Kat is.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
It's a bit of a space cadet.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
But yeah, give me Lebron Butler Hallie and hurry over
Kevin Durant.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
Yeah those are good. Did you off the top of
the show? Did I hear this right? Did you say
you're taking the Pacers.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I'm gonna a little money on.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
The Pacers to win the series.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
I think I'm gonna do an exact Okay, Pacers to
win the series for two.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
There's no point in betting on the Okac Thunder, like
I'm not.

Speaker 6 (30:08):
So is this because you think they can actually do
it or because it's a better bet.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
A combination of the two.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
So I think I saw the number was like plus
ten forty if the Pacers win the series exactly for two, Yeah,
let's do.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
They're not sweeping the Thunder for one.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
That ain't happening, and they're not winning Game seven in
Oklahoma definitely not.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
So their best bet would be four to two at home.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
Okay, So this is your betting pick. Yeah, now this
is a piece of money bet. Yeah, so that's your
money bet. What's your brain? Your brain saying.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Okay, see okay, see four zero?

Speaker 7 (30:39):
Oh you're saying sweet, you think it's gonna be a
sweet I think that's.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
In play for sure.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
Okay, if you're if you want to have fun with it,
put some money on it.

Speaker 5 (30:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (30:47):
Four two.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
I mean, like, there's just no I'm not gonna bet
one thousand dollars on Oklahoma City to win like seven dollars, Like,
that's just dumb.

Speaker 7 (30:56):
I don't think that.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
You think they're gonna they're gonna sweep. I do think
they're So you're taking game one tonight, Well, there's some
bad game one betting trends on underdogs. Okay, so I'm
not touching the Pacers tonight. This is kind of a
wait and see.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
They also had issues getting in. The weather was kind
of tall. That's that can affect that. I mean, I
don't think it's going to affect them.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
Let's go score. I'll go one, eighteen to ninety seven.
That's under a wan. Let me write that down and
keeps it back.

Speaker 7 (31:27):
Eighteen to ninety seven.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
I'm gonna say it's a five score game.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
Five score game?

Speaker 3 (31:36):
What is that?

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Like?

Speaker 7 (31:37):
They're gonna win by five?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Oh so they won't cover?

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Okay, So Alex and I on the Thunder enjoy the
game tonight.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
We'll see you tomorrow,
