Are you ready, brother?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm ready?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
These are the games we had zeroed in on the
other day. First one up Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas
City Chiefs. The Chiefs number has moved from three and
a half early in the week to six it is
going to be frigid, frigid, frigid.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
In Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
In the contest, the line is five and a half
because the contest lines open on Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
And as I just said, they are dynamic.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
If you look like some lines, it's always better to
put your picks in early.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
I did.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
We got Kansas City minus four and a half. I
think we love the luck factor here. Kansas City has
just not been getting lucky. The Chargers got very lucky
against the Eagles. We love the weather factor, We love
the anti Chargers O line factor.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
At least I do. We haven't spoken since Thursday, so
I have no idea.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
If you're still with me now, I'm still with you.
This is the game where I thought the public and
professionals bail over the Chargers, and it's been the opposite.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Honestly, is the week so long here the.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Public is kind of taking our view as well, where
it's like you already wanted to bet the Chiefs because
it's such a desperate spot against a Chargers team that's
banged up on our short week out in the elements,
but the fact that the Pros have coming so heavy
and move this number, like you said, for four and
a half alway to six. That's crazy to me because
that's now it's like, Okay, if you have an opportunity
to get six and a half in our contest before kick,
(02:29):
how do you not throw a little on the Chargers
at that. Yeah, So to me, if you're seeing that
five and a half a hard rock or like us,
you can get five and a half or four and
a half in the contest, still love the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
We're really just playing the situation here.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
We do not think the Chiefs are a six point
better team than this Chargers team. It really is what
you talked about. This is the out and the elements
with the one handed quarterback. And you know this Chargers team,
they've always found a way, especially Herbert in this exact spot.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
But you can only only overcome so much.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
So I'll be interesting how this Chargers team tries to
take advantage of a Chief's banged up offensive line.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Like we've talked about this.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
Year, they don't really have guys on that Chargers front
that really scare you to get the pass for us.
So you think Mahomes would be in a good spot here,
and like we talked about, that number opened at three
and a half. All the early money was on the Chargers,
and it kept going the other way. And as the
week has gone along and people have seen what we
talked about on Tuesday, which was predicting there might be
(03:25):
a bad weather here, it's just gone the other way.
So you're like me where we're kind of we're locked
in in our picks, in our five, mostly because we
have such a good number. This is one of those games,
so the four and a half, if you're able to
get in the chiefs, that's a really nice spot to be.
And like we're in right now.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
The Buffalo Bills are now one point favorites at the
New England Patriots. Simon, this is going to be our
Rock and a hard plays Better the Week presented by
Hard Rock That hour around.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I'm in New England.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
It's twenty degrees snowing, supposed to let up a little bit.
Our hero Josh Allen and his beautiful bride Hailey Steinfeld
announced this week that they are expecting. Leave it to
Josh Allen to figure out a way to make sure
he and his wife have a baby during the offseason.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
The guy can do no wrong. He is just brilliant
at everything.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
One of the many reasons why we have continued to
bet on the Buffalo Bills at minus one, minus one
and a half. But we're not getting consensus from the
professional community, and that's why it's our rock and a
hard place.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Yeah, a lot of pushback of this one is just
it's been fun the last a couple days talking to him.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
In this week.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Obviously, all the games are so great. There's been a
lot of discourse, right, there's no all the pros are
lining up on these three or four games together in Unison.
It's just a ton of back and forth in a
lot of opinions because it's so many games that are
dictating the one seed to two seed playoff divisional games.
It's just all happening this week. It's you can't ask
for much better as you hit in December. So this
match what you talked about. I get the love for
(05:14):
the Patriots. I'm just I'm happy to pay and lose
money on the Bills, as simple as that, Like I
make number three. I get the public sentiment with this
pitch team.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
If it's honestly the truth, tat if they had.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
A fully healthy offensive line, this Patriots team, and they
had a fully healthy defensive line. Yes, I could have
been talked into that, right, but they might be down their.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Best the end in New England and you know.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Looking at that offensive line, can they be exploited by Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
It's to be determined. Right.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
With this Buffalo defense, they've had games where they they've
really done well pressure in quarterbacks, right. You saw it
in that Pittsburgh game. You saw it against the Chiefs,
and there's other games that's just not there. Right, It's
lackluster and it kind of disappears. So we do believe
this type game you can take advantage of it. And there
are some defensive formats that we've seen may struggle with that.
I'm interesting if the Bills kind of attack, right, We've
(06:04):
seen it when some teams they only rush too and
they drop everyone back in the coverage. He struggles with it,
and he likes to pull it down if he doesn't
see clearly open or you know, single cover safeties, he
tends to pull it down, runs with it, which I
honestly think in this type of game, the Bills are
going to try to attack. So there's a lot to
love for this game, and the biggest one is just
that number. So I'm happy to pay for it, and
(06:26):
this is one of the best games to day just
because if New England does win this we've talked about it.
This is basically they win the division. So did Drake
May sleep a wink last night?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
It's gonna be interesting how this kid handles this type
of game, because not that they've been on cruise control here,
but this is their first test in what feels like
two three months, So I'm really excited for this game.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Drake May is in the middle of bakeness in his house. Okay,
he is eating so much sugar. I don't know how
the guy is able to function. I don't know how
he's able to sleep. He could be incredibly lethargic all
day today because he's been busy eating chuck Chip peppermint
Christmas cookies. He's busy and you know rice Krispy Christmas treats.
Like the guy has a lot of sugar going on
(07:08):
in his house right now. On the field, the one
thing I would say, the reason why I really like
this game. New England's rush defense has just been getting
worse and worse as the season's going on because of
the injuries, and we know that the Bills.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
They're gonna want to run the ball.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
That is who they are. They're a physical, run the
ball team. Give me the Bills championship pedigree. They know
this is their shot. If they lose this game, it
could flip the division for a decade. So that's why
I think the Bills need to cover this game. Detroit
at the Los Angeles Rams line is currently six. We
(07:43):
got it at five and a half in the contest.
It's a sneaky You had to be listening to understand
that Simon loved this game on Tuesday at five and
a half.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Still true, Still true.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
I am shockingly people can tell from this contest have
we started so far?
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I am very chalk heavy this week, So yeah we are.
It's weird, yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Where I mean, obviously we talk all the time. We
at least we have some dogs reforcing this week. But
that's just how we ended up on Tuesday. And like
you said, you locked in a lot of these picks
on Tuesday, and this is one of those games you
locked in, so we have the better number. Obviously, we
wish it was the five, but we got the hook.
It's the five and a half, no problem, And.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Which we're going to get in the contest. They don't
do We're not doing flat numbers. It's always going to
be a hook.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Yeah, And it was interesting what the summer was going
to do just because there was a possibility Devanta Adams
is going to miss this game. Right, he has been
not practicing because of a hamstring and you've kind of
seen these last couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
He's not really been the threat he was before.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
They're kind of just using them in their their packages
when they get to the red zone, which I think
is smart. Use use the young kid Puoka while work
in the middle of the field. When you get to
the red zone, you take care and use the vet there.
So we talked about this matchup the lines, if you're
trying to allow to yourself or just not a lot
of yourself. We even find a way to spin it
and find success. How can you back the Lions here?
(09:04):
We gave out that number right Golf Campbell seventeen and
three as a dog greater than four. My pushback, which
means I've talked a little about this season is a
lot of these might be Ben Johnson's stats and I'm
interesting with this type of matchup that this is going
to have to be all along golf in this offense,
they're gonna have to keep up in some way because
you've just seen it their secondary it's too injuries to overcome.
(09:27):
Now you're down, you know, both your safeties, your down corners.
It's a lot to ask against the MVP who's increased
control right now in Stafford playing against his former team,
which he can say it doesn't mean a lot, but
they've played two times down every time after the game
he says, it means a lot.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
So to me, nothing's changed there.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
And you know, I look at this lines matchup and
it's gonna be interesting if the way they win this
game will be by running it.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
We've seen this Rams team.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
The only teams they lose to are teams that can
run the ball and ball control. And you know that
fluky loss against Carolina where you know Bryce shown through
for three fifty. Yeah, those things can happen. But just
going back further their past losses, which mainly has been
to the Eagles, it's when the Eagles can run for
a ton of ton and ball control keep Stafford off
the field.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Never leg me in rhythm.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
The lines do have that they have you can argue
with top two, top three running back of football now
and Gibbs, so there is there is a lane for it.
I just I can't see it, and I think this
number should probably be seven, seven and a half like
this is just priced as if this is Detroit of
the past, and the public stream in that way right
now as we sit here, most books, bookmakers I've talked to,
(10:33):
most books I've seen, it's been pretty heavy Detroit money,
and we always talk it's pretty notice but when a
ton of money's coming on one side, especially the dog,
and the number, like we said, has gone for four
and a half to five and a half now to six.
So I'm confidence Rams side, but I definitely want to
see what's going on with Demontae Smith.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
You have not Demantae Adams.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
If you do not bet this yet, if he is out,
maybe you get lucky and drops back down to five
and a half five. But I don't mind taking this
Rams of the six if that's the only hum where
you can.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Get Lions incredibly beat up on the offensive line. Meanwhile,
on the other side of the ball, Stafford is brilliant
against Man, which is what the Lions have played basically
every game. We saw them play zone against the Cowboys,
but Stafford is even better against zone. Whether it's their
success rate in the running game, which is the best
(11:22):
since twenty eighteen when the Rams were awesome in success
rate in the run game, whether it's thirteen personnel, which
Sean McVay has been using NonStop this year, if it's
Devonte Adams, Puka Nakua. They've just been at every level
in every scheme, so unstoppable offensively against a really beat
(11:45):
up Detroit Lyons secondary for sure. Green Bay at Denver
another chalky one for us. This was Chad's choice. Little
concerned because it had been two and then it had
gone up to two and a half. Over the past
twenty four hours it's gone down to one and a half,
(12:06):
And honestly, there are some places with his line as
green Bay minus one. So I'm seeing the tickets come
in on Denver. Obviously, that's professional money coming in on Denver.
Two worries me a little bit. I think it's the
worst number we're getting in the contest, because in the
contest we got it to two and a half.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Yeah, it honestly feels like it's a Josh Shacob movement.
The guy didn't practice all week, which again not a
big to tell me he is a vet, but he
did pop up and it did come out that it's like, Okay,
it's not a guarantee he's going to play in this game.
They need they're going to work him out before the
game and see how he's feeling. And we talked about
it last week, like when he's going with that offense,
they're untoppable. He's you're such a game changer, especially when
(12:47):
they get.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Down to the red zone.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
So I can lie to you that worries me a
little bit, but what we're saying still holds true. I
still think overall, this is a better Packers team, and
this is a unique spot for this Broncos team that
they have been tested in certain matchups this year. But
when they play really good defenses, you've seen they have
struggled and especially bone Knicks and you know that Houston game.
(13:09):
I still think we handicapped that right. Bo Nix just
got very lucky that CJ got knocked out and he
was able to come back in that game against David
SMOs who just hadn't played with the Ones all season.
So another matchup here we're really as much we love
Jordan Love and we're depending on this offense. I have
to show up against great Broncos defense. It's really about
this Packers defense. Can they shut down bone Knicks and
stop this Broncos team. And you know the Packers defense,
(13:31):
they've been up and down this year. This feels like
a really unique, great matchup for them to test themselves.
And the fact that it's a true great playoff team
and you know, we've seen it times again Parsons. People
have probably been seeing these clips all week. He's just
basically being held NonStop these last couple of weeks. And
that's exciting to me though, because that shows whatever has
happened early in the year.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I remember he had some type of injury. I forget what.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
He was getting shots in his back and it was like, okay,
did the Cowboys fleece? This Green Bay team getting damaged
goods here? And he's been nothing but great for them
this home stretch here, and he's been one of the
better defensive players in the season. So we're really heavily
rely on the Screen Bay's defense to show up on
the flip side as.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Good as those Broncos defense is to a lot of people.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
I think the Packers have so many ways to attack
them offensively, and you've seen it with since Watson's been
back that wur receiving corps, He's been such a game
chitger with them, and so the tuplecraft stuff scared me, Chad,
but I've come around on Green Bay's offense since they've
gone back to those two stud receivers.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Also, Jordan Love has just been great against pressure, and
we know that the Broncos don't necessarily need to bring
blitz pressure. They usually go with five men because they
can get pascertained on the corner who can basically take
away half the field. You don't have to bring the
extra guys. But Jordan Love has just been great against
it all season. So we're kind of bet. I think
we're betting more on the Packers defense here to contain
(14:53):
bo Nicks than we are on the Packers offense to
beat up on the Broncos defense.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Right now, we have.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Four games that we love all chalk on the other

Speaker 3 (17:05):
All right, let's talk about some underdogs.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
First one, Minnesota five and a half point underdog against Dallas.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
There are six is out there.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
It was six and a half early in the week
when we talked about it. Hopefully people were able to
get that. Look, it's a tricky game. I don't think
we're betting on JJ McCarthy here. I think it's another
one where we're betting on the Cowboys. On the Vikings
defense to be able to contain the Cowboys in some
(17:37):
capacity and Kevin O'Connell to come up with some game
plan that puts JJ McCarthy in the offense in an
advantageous position against a Dallas defense that has been bad.
They've been better with Quinn Williams, they're getting Trayvon Diggs back,
but they have been bad. So we're kind of betting
on the bigger number here.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Yeah, and it's a tough week ons with the dogs. Like,
there's four dogs I've been on and this is one
of them. And you know, you had the option to
put any dog you wanted, and this is the dog
you chose, chat, So this is the dog I'm gonna
happily support you with.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
So I like it. I like the number, And like you.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
Said, the Cowboys, this feels a little inflated for what
they're gonna be facing here, just defensively for this Minnesota team.
And you know, the fear for me would just be
can JJ keep up if Dak is on one? And
that's gonna be the issue. So yeah, like this is
simply us playing the number. Obviously, we wish we had
gotten this six and a half. Six which I know
(18:33):
a couple of people in our contest half because this
did touch six a hard rock in a couple of
other books. But I got a non issue at the
five and a half. It's this number should be three
and a half. So we're gonna quickly find out pretty
early here chat. We won't will know quickly if JJ's
on script here with Koc. We at worst, first two
drives we go ten right field goal in the touchdown.
That's usually a nice sign that JJ's in rhythm with
(18:55):
KOC and this team and we're gonna need it. Like
we've seen these stats, It's Cowboys defense is atrocious, but
their offense, especially after losses, tends to show up right.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
It's a juggernaut.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Pickens has been hearing, you know, last two weeks how
he's been quitting on routes being terrible. So expected to
bounce back here, but just a bad spot, we would
think for this Cowboys team, This Vikings defense, they are
great against veteran quarterbacks. And you know we've seen Dak
as great as he is, he does struggle against these type.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Of defense, especially with Brian Flores at the home.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
So yeah, the interesting game here that on another game
talk to bookmakers, all Dallas money, all the teasers, all
the parlays. I know people don't believe, but you have
to throw a little if you're a hater, a contrarian,
the guy, and you have to throw a little on
Minnesota's money line. I know it sounds crazy, but this
is just going to be such a hammered game, especially
being the prime time Sunday night game.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
The other game that really it came down to Minnesota
and Dallas and Carolina and New Orleans, and now Carolina
is in the driver's seat with Tampa Bay's loss the
other night to win the NFC South. We love the
Carolina Panthers, but two and a half New Orleans two
and a half was your signon says on Tuesday, the
(20:07):
line is basically touching three at a lot of places.
We're getting two and a half in the contest. On Thursday,
you were leaking confidence. I was too, which is when
I would have put in the picks, and it's why
I put in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Are you still leaking confidence?
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Uh no, It's just like a sort of thing.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
I believe in it, but I see the avenue of
me just getting just crushed, stomped out here because again
we're backing two gross dogs after they just had two
really big wins.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
So I'm interesting how the Saints team bounce of his back.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
You know, we've talked it's a unique team in New Orleans.
They've actually been much better on the road than I've
been at home. They've been futured at home, surprisingly, But
this is to me a game that's all on Carolina
and Bryce Young and Howie handles and then mounts a
pressure he hasn't felt since college, Like this is an
(21:01):
insane unique spot to be in that if he wins
this game and then his next week against the Bucks,
they've won the division, which is something that's insane to
think about this Parlanta Panther team, especially not just this season,
going back these last couple of years. They just is
Bryce shung the guys he left for dead. Now fast forward,
they might be stealless division from a Bucks team that's
collapsing down the stretch here. So I still love this
(21:23):
Saints team. It just feels like you're getting a UNI
expot the Panthers. We've talked about it. They've been favored
eleven times now since what is a twenty twenty two
and their own eleven. I guess its spreading straight up.
So again they break the curse. This is their moment
to live up to it. I have to keep fading
it here and back a Saints team that once again
undervalued by the public.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
It's another just like that Minnesota game.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Every book maker I talk to, they couldn't wait to
get me to bet some Saints twenty because they desperately
needed it, and I bust their balls. I'm like, well,
if you need so bad, why not bust it to
the three. Like, if you guys are acting like you
desperately need Saints' numbers, push it to the three. You're
gonna get a ton of money. And like Chad said,
a bunch of books half at the three. But the
most interesting one of me is the two or three
biggest public books have held at the two and a half,
(22:08):
and they are taking the most amount of Panthers money.
So I'll stand with the books here. I'll back the Saints.
But I get why you chose Minnesota with the Saints.
It's it's a it's a tough call, but I would
say with the bigger number on this Minnesota team, it's
more it's more comfortable taking that number.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
There, that was really that was really the deciding factor
to me was the bigger number and a really good
They at least have one unit we know we can
count on, all right, So to me, it's it's right now.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
I'll just say one more game. I want to first
you win, just because well we get it real quick.
It was just the Commanders. I still think it's a
two and a half. This game should probably be closer
to a pick. So it's two and out hard rock,
but plenty two and a half's out there.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
The Giants are just so.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Bad, and once again everyone's just piling up on them.
I get it there. They do have a more complete
team than the Commanders. Actually, you know, look at the defense.
Defense of the Commanders are just so bad.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
But I think.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
Mariota, if he's got if he's got you know, Debo,
if he's got Terry McLaurin, he's got Roriguez the running back.
That's a pretty potent offense Washington's bringing to the field here.
So I'm shocked it's not moved to a pick. I
still think the two and a half's are good number.
So that that and the Saints, those are the two
really ugly dogs I like this week, including Cincinnati, but again,
(23:24):
all those three, I think we're never going to get
there because of the number.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Do we want to put Washington in?
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Like the only the only question in the contest at
this point is we lose the four and a half
on Kansas City, we'd probably get five and a half,
so everything else would stay the same. Do we want
to put Washington in instead of Minnesota?
Speaker 2 (23:45):
I wish I had the foresight here.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
The thing is just scaring me off, which I'm sure
you have the same exact filia right now, is that
we were on four favorites, which it never never works
out for us. But I think we're in unique spots here,
especially that Green Bay in Buffalo game, where those are
two favorites that are actually honestly not getting that much
public love or professional love.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
I get why we maybe make a move here, but
I'm trying not to overthink and keep. Like you said,
we have good contest lines. The only bad number we
have is Green Bay, but I don't think that's bad
enough to move off. I don't think the two and
aps can affect us that much, So I don't know
if you want to step up and say something, Chad,
and have a game you want to play it, and
say this is the one I want to put in.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I'll support it. But as we said here.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Right now, the only one I really want to take
out is honestly in Minnesota. And it's like these other dogs,
it's no different. I'm not that much more confident these
other dogs either. So it's a weird week honestly on it.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Well, I agree like Minnesota is the one I'm most uncomfortable.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
With, have been all week.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yeah, but I don't I don't love New Orleans, I
don't love Washington, I don't love Cincinnati. Those are the
other ones that I've looked at. So I guess, let's
not change it. Let's not change it, let's not overthink it.
That's what we always do, and then we make a mistake.
So our official cond test picks Kansas City minus four
and a half. We got that early in the week,
(25:04):
Minnesota plus five and a half. We got Buffalo minus
one and a half, we got the Rams minus five
and a half. We've got Green Bay minus two and
a half. That's what we're running with today, Simon. This
