Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Miszoo fan who had the chance to win twenty
five thousand dollars on a field goal, held up a
shirt that said fku turned around to kicked the ball
at the Kansas bench.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Do move. It didn't hit anyone. It was like it
was like a a.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Little wine drive. Blah blah blah blah. And that is
that is our friend. Carter Airy from Columbia, Missouri. Uh, good, great.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Work, Good morning, everyone, show me something podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
One of us has a little cold. I don't know
if you can't tell it.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Also, it's okay, oh god.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I feel like your mom right now. I want to
bring you some soup.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Dude, you kind of take my grandma this little coat
or blanket over.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I kind of like, Oh, I actually ordered soup last
night before bed.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
I ordered a massive ball soup and a French onion soup.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
That dinner amazing to go get.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yeah, how bad do you miss your mom when you
have a cold?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
I feel like a lot actually, But honestly, when I'm sick,
I don't want to be like touched your mess with
relate like I'd be held and cuddled, but like, yeah,
it'd be nice sex to make you some soup.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I've also been taking colostrum to keep my immunity up
for the last year and it works. Look into it,
I think I need really good.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
What is that.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
It's like the main nutrient you get from breast milk
when you're a baby to keep you like alive.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
So it's in like powder. It's like powder form. It's good.
Someone told me to do it once and I was like, all.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Right, but that breast is it coming from.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I don't think it's coming directly from a breast. I
believe it's just like the nutrient, like the main like
important part of breast milk, which is colostrum, which is
like just good for your body, so that in an
emergency drinking away.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
I'm trying to ship. Maybe I just need to like
tequilaer Jack Daniels.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
You know what, to cheer you up. I'm going to
start the show at this Uh. For those of you
who don't know, our friend Sophie was just inducted. Oh,
I guess you were inducted, but they announced that you
will be a part of the University of Missouri Athletics
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
It clap clap, clop clop cp fuck yeah, So proud
of you.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Thank you. It's gonna be a fun little thing. I
hope I feel better. It's this weekend, so it's not
to be a busy working weekend, I know. So fly
there either Thursday night Friday morning there's ceremony. All friends
of failure will be there, and then the game Saturday.
But you know how we get down with the tail
(02:57):
gay like we love to have a good time. Yeah,
I think I have to leave like Saturday or Sunday
to go to our first playoff game. So it actually
kind of worked out that I freaking broke my lit
because now I get.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
To do it. So is it just you?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Is it like, is the ceremony just for you or
their other inductees as well?
Speaker 4 (03:17):
No? I think there's six of us, so yeah, it's
gonna be really fun.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
It's the other ones.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Alyssa Mundlin, Mike Alden.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Oh, Mike Alden, congrats big Mike. His son went to
uh elementary school with me. Really, I've known the Aldens
yes since kindergarten. So that's fun.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
So I'm kind of blanking, yeah, you're good, You're good, Okay,
But like on a more important uh no chick.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Thursday, it started this is week one so I'm I'm
in the process. I got acupuncture uh tomorrow and I'm
trying to get a massage also before we go.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
My back. My back has been hurting really bad. So
we've got to we have a title that we have
a title to reclaim.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
So that is freaking Is everyone else like taking it
as seriously as you?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Like?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Are they?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
I mean, I I set the tone obviously, like people,
I need to set the standard for like how much
we care. But yeah, I mean after we won last year,
like everyone's like pretty pretty dialed, and like the backbone
of our team is the girls. They do not want
to lose. They do not want to lose.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Would any of us know any.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Of them there? It's all New York. I'm trying to
think if there's.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Anyone is going to be on your squad?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Mm, not that I'm allowed to say, if that makes sense. Yes,
it's not. It's not anything like that spicy.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
It's just like, okay, well you know what else is
not spicy is our freaking Chiefs losing in their first
What the hell?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah did you watch? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Dude, I watched every single I was pissed.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Where do you watch.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Our game? Our team was also playing So I was
in it was deer but we were winning. We were
playing Chicago. We were playing Chicago. Oh my god, I
think it's something John. Okay, playing Killers.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
We were we.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Were winning by like twenties. I was watching that, but
then I also had it on my phone, so how
was in this sweep? So I wasn't like on the
bench watching.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, not the best start for our Chiefs, but I
mean they we we lost the first game two years ago,
won the super Bowl. The season and the NFL season
gets longer and longer, like as the years go on,
they keep adding games and like it's a divisional game.
You don't want to lose those. You don't want to
be owing one. They also play the Eagles this weekend.
(05:54):
Uh so you're kind of staring. You're staring, oh, into
like right between the eyes. But I mean, okay, your
number one receiver for the day goes down play three
and Travis just obliterated him.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
And you know it's in Brazil. It's weird.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
There's a lot of weird factors that are normally in there.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
We'll put it.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, well, but the Chiefs usually can handle those games.
I feel like because they've played internationally so much. I
feel like they have a lot of veterans Andy Reid
like an experienced coach who knows how to deal with
all that.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
But you know, maybe it's a little wake up call
and that's always good.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Do you ever feel like I feel like we peak
when we're supposed to to, like it's the beginning of season.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, like.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Everyone's like, oh I told you, I'm like, first game,
shut up.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Do you ever feel like you have benefit as a
team from a loss?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Well, yeah, of course, like a wake up call circles, yeah,
circles where you need to get good at it. So
I don't know. Yeah, I would do my first Colts
game on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Oh they fucking rock the shit, didn't they?
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Well, what the hell is Miami? So I'm new to
like the Colts in the Miami teams. Is Miami that bad?
Or are the Colts looking pretty damn good?
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Good question. It might be a little bit of both.
Miami to me is always like this is so like
old head of me. But I feel like warm weather
teams are so fluky and just like they're usually good
in September and then kind of fall off when it
gets colder. But there's not a lot of backbone there,
in my opinion, kind of a weird like modern young
(07:44):
coach and just a lot of dudes who I don't
know if they're like ball lovers, I don't know, but
I mean good for Indianapolis. So talk to me about
Lucas Oil Stadium. How is the GameDay experience? Like, what'd
you like?
Speaker 4 (07:56):
It was awesome, Like it was the most beautiful, perfect
day outside. The windows were all open, they had the
roof track, which I think every freaking stadium should happen.
Like it was so bad and I was like, I was,
I was, I was like, wow, this is beautiful. But
they were just playing really good. And I know that
everyone was like kind of worried about a quarterback situation.
I guess I think he didn't really Well, you know
(08:18):
what's actually funny too, do you go Have you been
to the majority of NFL state coms A handful? Well,
I I think it was so fun seeing like I
know what the Chiefs do, like our little things and stuff,
but it is I'm gonna know what the Colts do,
and like we were, we were they were doing all
the celebrations and like all the songs and all that
(08:39):
type of stuff.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Do you can you share with us what what you learned. Oh,
I'm gonna try it.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
I mean it's easy, then I'll do it. Like after
they score a touchdown and it's like to the song
they say something on third down. I can't it. It
was really country in Midwestern I liked it.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
So, yeah, it feels very like kids camp kinda. I think,
you know, I feel like I what.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
For those listening and not watching, it's basically just you
were locking our arms in front of us and just
moving them them up and down.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
So shout out to Kohles for that one. It's fun.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
And then one more NFL game I want to talk about,
because maybe I'm just being dumb, was so historic between
the Bills and the Ravens game. I watched the whole
thing and it was a freaking awesome game, don't get
me wrong.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
But what so he's actually it's funny you say that,
So I think it was. Teddy Bruski called it the
Little Brother Bowl because he's like the Chief's own, Like
the only thing Baltimore and Buffalo are known for is
like losing to the.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Chiefs in the playoffs the last few years. So he
called it a little Brother Bowl, which I like that.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Shoot want to know.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Also, uh, yeah, no, I don't want to talk. I'm
not here to talk shit on the bills in the
Ravens Week one. I'm gonna wait yamn to get.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Good little Cliffbaite out of you.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
No, they're good.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Before we move on from football, I also have to like,
I'm going to talk about Montana State for four.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Seconds too over time.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yeah, brutal to South Zakota State, who's a great team,
number two team in FCS, but fucking gold Rush is
our first home game every year, Sophie, and every it's like,
it's just beautiful Montana State Bozeman out in the mountains.
Everyone's in yellow. It's like a crispy September night and
it's so fun. And to lose in double overtime sucks.
(10:32):
But it's too a good team, and we just can't
seem to beat South Scota State. They're they're fucking really good.
But uh, they'll be all right. They're right to ship.
We have a new QB who I love, just off
transfer from Stanford, and I was really sure.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I wasn't really sure.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
What what he was gonna look like if he was
gonna be any good.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
And I really like this kid.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
He's fucking took a lot of shots and can use
his legs, use his arms.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
So I'm hoping things get Uh.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Are you gonna make it.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Back to a game? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (11:03):
I actually glad you asked. I'm speaking at the Athletics
Skala this year.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Why that's cool?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Thanks? Yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
It's in October and basically, like, I don't know, they
have like a banquet every fall and I'm there to
talk to like, I'm sure it's just all the rich,
you know, donors and stuff and tell them why Montana
State needs more money, which they do, could always use more.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
But like, wait, so what did you do? I think
a lot of people think that you film every weekend,
and I say a lot of people and I are
those people. What did you do? Because this was your
first weekend not film me?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Good question, Sophie, Guess what I did? Sleep? Stayed on
my new living room.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Couch for three days. Says it was gorgeous Friday after
the Chiefs. If the Chiefs would have won, maybe I
would have gone out, but I was kind of like,
so I went to bed Saturday legit woke up watched
Game Day, watched them Zoo game, watched the Royals for
five seconds, then watch Montana say game.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
But then Sunday I ripped it, you did, Yeah, I
tore it up.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Because the US, I can go kind of like just
explore the city and hang out with everyone else while
they watch their teams. And yeah, we were out till
like three. Oh no, dude, that's what I'm saying. New
York you can like go out to watch the noon
slate and then blink and you're you're coming home at four.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Dude. We're literally living two different lives in the past
couple of weeks because you're out till three for fun
things and I'm up till three because I can't get
my freaking need to helping, so I need to be
living through you.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
But also it's nice to not have to drive to
the like Hampton's. That's it's a bitch.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
But how far is it two hours?
Speaker 1 (12:57):
It should be it should be like one forty five.
But there's traffic, Like getting out of New York City
is just the worst thing you could ever do in
your life. And it's yeah, I mean it's taking us.
It's taken us three and a half sometimes sometimes four,
but no new. Yeah, it's good to Just like the
(13:18):
thing with Summerhouse is I just have to grind out
filming like this summer and it takes me right into
football season sure when I can. When it's like you
have every excuse in the world to like stay home,
to be on your couch and just like to be
on and do nothing. So, speaking of your knee, how
are you feeling like you can't sleep?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Dude?
Speaker 4 (13:40):
So bad? Just because actually rehab it's kind of fun.
That sounds way back because there's like five of us
in there and like we're all going through it and
three of us are kind of doing like the same
rehab and so yeah, which is weird. But I think
I'm just like doing more and it's like progressing really
really well. But with that, like anytime you like push
an injury, like it's just gonna ache and stuff, and
(14:02):
when you're doing something new. So yeah, I'm not sleeping.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
So your guys photo shoot was cute though, all the
braces and the walking sticks.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
It was hilarious. It like everyone's always like it looks
like you guys, because when we when this first all
started happening, like two of the girls were taken out
on wheelchairs like someone else hack crutches, and I was like,
you know those war pictures from like World War one
or World War like, like that's exactly what. And so
they all hated me because they were all walking on
(14:32):
was like, guys, we have to get a pick like
this season, but like we're gonna like want this, and
so I made them all come back and then we
took like it was so.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
No, it's so it's like, I mean, big picture, Yeah,
we wish that didn't happen when you're not gonna not
take a picture when you guys all have like boots
and you know.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
And my thing is like this is a crazy season
and it did happen, So like we should just embrace
for around like this shit sucks and like it is
like funny a sick way and so like live it
up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Who cares? So that's very Sophie of you. It is
just but it's fun.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
And so is that is that photo shoot like a
playoff photo shoot that you guys did for.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
The Actually the w n b A always does their
roster like big team photo at the end of the year.
It's so normally like you would expect people to do
it at the beginning. We we do it to the
to the very last day because you like trades and
people like that, like your final roster picture, which ours
(15:36):
was like key. But after that we actually played. That's
when we played Chicago, and then we went to Washington.
We won, which is a really good win. And now
we have a game decided against Minnesota. It doesn't really matter,
I don't think. And then we're in the playoffs, so
like it is kind of like boom boom playoff.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
I mean, yeah, we can move into like our w
NBA the thick of it.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Well, actually, before you go, what's what's your favorite like
jersey for you or like your favorite uniform that you
guys wear.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I think the red is the most sharp.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Yes, so everyone loves our red just because it pops
a lot. A lot of people's favorite is our Stranger
Things jerseys. It's like between black and red.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
What's the inspiration for those? Do you know?
Speaker 4 (16:23):
I'm not I'm not so sure why they. I didn't
watch Stranger Things, but they they've had them here. Like everyone,
every team has like a like a unique jersey you
only get to wear sometimes, right, and so like in
Phoenix is like the Revival jersey, you know, was like black,
but I have like the sunset colors of Phoenix. Here
(16:44):
it's Stranger Things and the Stranger Things are It's bad ass.
But I don't don't really know why they chose Stranger Things.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
I'm gonna google it, Okay. The Indian a fever where
Stranger theme Stranger Things Them jerseys is part of a
collaboration with Netflix, which we begin ant on. The jerseys
are inspired by the show's setting in the fictional town
of Hawkins, Indiana, uh incorporate the show's distinctive font and
the color palette, and even future references to the character Eleven.
(17:11):
The team sees a strong connection between their athletes and
the show's themes of female empowerment and resilience, as seen
an eleven story.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Oh that's cool.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Actually, that's really cool. I didn't know. I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Well, now you do. But these are I mean, obviously
these are sick.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Yeah, the jerseys are. The jerseys are awesome. Like that
might be my favorite one, but honestly, I'm kind of weird.
But I kind of like our navy blue ones for
some reason too. I don't actually all of them what
am I doing. I think all of them are very
like striking and I don't.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Know just we already covered it, but you guys clinched
a playoff birth, which I think we can all say
is a win despite the injuries to this season. Like
making the playoffs when half of your team is in
a boot is pretty awesome.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
So I think we'll go over a little round of
applause for our Fever girls. Do you think too? But
how are you feeling? Like whatever? The playoffs? Like, just
walk us through where the Fever are at right now? Mindsel?
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Yeah, I think playoff season is just like a whole
different season. I know you always hear athletes say that,
but like it truly is so like you could have
the best record in the regular season and like literally
losing the first round if that team doesn't have experience,
Like experience is what wins playoffs and championships. It's always
good if you have like young bucks who are like
(18:38):
killing it too or you know, but if you have
experienced players on your team, that's I don't know what
it is, but it's like you have those playoff experiences,
it's just you know how to handle the momentum swings
you know how to handle the runs. Like it's just
it's it's hard to explain, but when you're in it,
it's freaking oreal. And so shout out to all of
(19:01):
our like ten day seven day contracts some name, because
they've been really stepping it up. Now they're signed for
the rest of the season, and so we're all girls. Yeah,
Like it's like it's like it's a good thing. This
is such a weird season, but for some reason we're
able to kind of figure it out. Now. Our first round,
I think we're either playing Minnesota, Vegas, or Atlanta, so
(19:23):
those are in. You know, Vegas has been on a
freaking hot streak. Minnesota has been on a hot streak.
I would like to play Atlanta. I think we match
up best with them, but we have Kelsey Mitchell, we
have ab we have shooters out there, and so again
it's playoff experience, and so I think Atlanta has maybe
(19:43):
the least amount of playoff experience if I'm not mistaken.
And I think our team goes too, So I think
that'd be our best.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Do you guys as the playoffs not East and West
or it is.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Oh, so that's the difference. I think Once we start
explaining teams, maybe they will get into the East and West,
but as of now, O, no, it's okay. Something they
have changed for this year, which maybe a lot of
fans stof knows. Like last year, you would play like,
say we get matched up with at Lena, we would
play the first two games there and if we steal one,
(20:17):
then we come home, which this year it's one there,
one year, one there, so on.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
One Okay, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
You know what's crazy is MLB wild Card is best
of three and I think the higher seed gets all three.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Games, which is gnarly and I want to double check.
May I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Wild card is the home that the higher seed just
gets to keep all three. But okay, that's interesting. Does
that take longer though, because you have to go you're
traveling in between.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
I mean, I guess it's all kind of depends on
who you get matched up with. So like, I think
I'm really leaning towards Atlanta because you're in the same
time zone. The flight is like an hour fifteen or
like if you get Vegas, different time zone, a longer
flight Minnesota, it's only an hour time change. But I
(21:11):
just don't play.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yeah, no, they're good, okay, dope, Well we're excited. Do
you guys do anything different? I mean, this is your
first year with the fever, but like in your experience
in the playoffs, Like, do you guys game planing differently?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Do you play do like you play the bench?
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Last?
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Do you play the bench more?
Speaker 6 (21:33):
Like?
Speaker 1 (21:33):
What about the playoffs kind of changes how the teams
you've been on like operate?
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, I say, when you're in playoffs, the only real
thing that is changing is like you're playing this team two,
three times or longer this series it could be five
or seven games, right, and so like you are so
dialed into your stout and personnel and so like it's
(22:00):
it's like the little details and like knowing literally like
that person goes left and like spin everyone on the
roster has got to know that because you could be
matched up with them at any time, and like that
could be the play that makes us winner. Look So
it's like the attention to detail is so much bigger
and so much more important, And so it'll vary from
(22:20):
game to game, right, Like you play this team already
four times or three times in the season, and then
you're about to playing three more times, and so it's
like little adjustments and being able to adjust on the fly.
And so like I think the biggest thing and that's
maybe where they experience and like the maturity and like
knowing the league comes into play is because it is
(22:41):
like the small tension of detail, which is actually the
massive big So I think that's all. Is that a
regular game, like you know, personnel and like that definitely
don't end, but like this is just a difficult this
is a different.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Do you feel like being new on the Fever and
like we know you fucking talk a lot and don't
shut up, but like you feel like you were able
to be a vocal leader like right when you join
the Fever or does it take a little time for
you to feel comfortable being a vocal leader and like
obviously now that's what your whole role will be throughout
the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
Yeah, dude, curious.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
No, I think like for me, I think that's what
makes that's like a part of me that like I
that comes natural, right, So like I when I'm out there,
it's just natural for me to be the communicator and
to be talking through everything, Like it's just that is
just how I am. But I will say, like the past.
First of all, we haven't been traveling because we haven't
(23:38):
been feared to travel because of like blood thoughts and
swelling and stuff like that. And then the last game
at home, I was still like too injured and more
of a risk that I was in a suite, so
I wasn't even on the bench. But now I think
they're gonna be able to put us on the bench,
so like that communication piece is going to be here,
So like I didn't even think about that, Like, yeah,
I'm sure they missed me, yeah, and all the time,
(24:00):
but some people probably enjoy not there. But yeah, that's
a good point, so I think, well, yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
But also just being on a new team, I feel
like even I don't know, I think about it from
a football standpoint all the time, but like it would
certainly take I don't know, you want to like earn
the respect before you start fucking yapping at everyone. And
but I do think that is so much part of
kind of who you are that maybe you're less inclined
to kind of like feel it out and just like
(24:26):
hop right into it. But I think it feels probably
very authentic coming from you, in the sense that I
don't think anyone would question whether you're being like fucking
genuine or not, you know.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
Oh yeah yeah. And I think the more that they
got to know me and stuff like that, they understood.
And like another thing is like I'm getting old in
our league and this is my seventh year, right, so
maybe if I was like one, two or three years,
like it'd be like a little but nah, I'm just
like I get two. I am so but I'm excited
(24:58):
for I'm excited for play afscril think we're gonna I
think people when we're on, we're on and we're hard part.
So shout out school.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
I'm gonna hop into this just super quick fine or
find yah fine. The Miszoo fan who had the chance
to win twenty five thousand dollars on a field goal
held up a shirt that said fku, turned around, kicked
the ball at the Kansas bench move.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
It didn't hit anyone. It was like it was like a.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Uh a little wine drive blah blah blah blah. And
that is that is our friend, Carter Ari from Colombia, Missouri. Uh, good,
great work and you're fine, Carter, you are not fined.
I like, who can't know?
Speaker 4 (25:42):
It was Carter? A you that was the most badass,
damn thing that I have seen in a minute. And
his wife Laura texted me a video and like I
was too where was that? I loved it. I was like,
who where is this legend? That I was going through
my text and then it was she seems like my husband.
I was like, oh my god, and so I'm gonna
get you a sign like that is so bad?
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Oh my god, because that was crazy and just like
such a It's crazy how they haven't played this game
in what was it?
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Yeah? What twenty eleven or something?
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Or like, sorry, I just said twenty years.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
I mean the game definitely happened after I was ten
years old, but it's been a long time.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
And to just like that's such authentic hatred and so genuine.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
It was just.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Dude, there was this photo mater and it was like
this explains the border war in one photo and it's
like a Kansas guy like and then like a whole
section of a zoo people just like flipping them off.
It was awesome. Oh god, I just love it.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Did you see the fan that pushed d Hop's helmet
and then Lamar burst him back?
Speaker 4 (26:46):
You saw that?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeah? I did.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
I'll just fucking say it. Fine, you're a dickhead. He's
banned from every NFL stadium. Now that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
No, yeah, like I agree with that. He should, like
you can't be hidden people in the help like that.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Right, people I find and you see this a lot
with like baseball. I don't know if you remember last year,
like some dude to catch the ball and the Yankees
fan like held his wrist.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
I forget who it was.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
It might have been Rookie Betts and the Yankees fan
took his took his glove and like try to pull
the ball out.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Some fans just feel like entitled.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
I don't know if it's because they paid a lot
of money for the seats or because they're like in
the field, but like to push Deandre's helmet is I
can't even fathom.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
It's not like it was like he was all the
same team, like good jah, buddy, Like it was like
a yeah, like no, I think, no, you can't be
doing that. You literally can't be doing.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
And then Lamar pushed the ship out of that guy.
And I think he had every idea.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
It was awesome, definitely fine, But real quick, you said
that baseball, did you see the lady going viral for
seeing that.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Also find yeah, to find the internet's cooking her right now.
I feel like it's probably she's probably like learned her
life and via internet trolls. But like, that was the
most Karen shit I've ever seen. Baseball is so like
kill or be killed. When those balls are bouncing around
and you want to take one home. She literally was
like it was in our area, they'll get us in home.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
That is literally not how it works. I could not
fully that. I was like this, bitch, oh my god.
Then like no, everyone has the back and you got
a goodie bag and I'm sure we'll get to do
what it meat.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yeah, and the dad took it over to his son.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
You know, there's like those autograph fans like this, the
creepy dudes who like like keep the baseballs for themselves
and like collect stuff. Well, at least he was like
just a normal dad and not like keeping it for himself.
But also we have young Hoku missed the game winning
field goal Falcons bucks Uh skipped the postgame conference. I'll
(28:52):
let you go first on what you think about players
skipping post game when your obligator.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Is do it.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
I don't like that at all, because if you would
have made it, you would have loved to go in
there and kind of get the praise and stuff like that.
But that's not how sports works. Like this is a
character builder, and I think that that shows character too,
and like, let me if he's injured or something's wrong
and he can't, that's different. But if you're just not
(29:17):
going in there because you missed and you don't want
to take the heat or answer hard questions, like come on,
but that's far pro sport, so fuck up. So I'm
not I'm not a fan of that. You that's part
of the job you sign up for if people want
to hear from you. Can't get too high, can't get
too low, and this dude, I guess not too low,
which sucks also.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Not to be the like you're a kicker guy, but
like your quarterback winner loss has to answer questions and
face the music, your coach has to like why do
you get a pass because you missed the kick?
Speaker 2 (29:48):
I disagree?
Speaker 1 (29:49):
If yeah, go in, and it's also time to like
save face, go say go, explain what happened, tell him
like you got to be better, and then people move on.
It looks worse now that you didn't show up and
you missed the game with like.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
But like that that's what I'm saying, Like that, that's
like that's your character, like coming out like it's in. Yeah,
it's okay. Everyone messes up like you. No one is
ever gonna play perfect, you know what I mean? And
so like I was just you didn't you happen to
miss and that's okay, you've missed before. But like how
you respond to it is what people are going to remember. Like, yes,
I gonna know that you didn't gosho up and now
(30:26):
people are probably judging him for that.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
EXAs Yeah, last one, Angel re suspended by the Chicago
Sky after making comments detrimental to the team, which I thought,
didn't she get suspended because she got eight She had
eight texts and that's a league suspension. And so now
she's suspended again. I don't know it just a lot
of drama. But she said and not a great quote. Uh,
we have to get good players. We have to get
(30:49):
great players. That's non negotiable for me, which is why
the team gave her the little uh tough love.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
I'll let you go first here. Not great, Oh.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
That's not great. And like I get when you're when
you're losing, and it's been a frustrating season, Like everyone
is feeling those motions. And when I say everyone, like,
it's not just her, Like, I'm sure her teammates feel it,
her coaches, feel the organization, the fans, like literally everyone
feels that. And there's some things that you and this
is going, there's just some things that you can't say.
(31:21):
And I think one of my biggest things is I'm
a very team first person, Like I always get the
team for my feelings, and I think that should be
a standard. And so you got to protect your locker room.
And so you just can't be saying everything you're feeling
because that just is not a good look. And then
your teammates feel a certain way, and that causes division
(31:41):
in the locker room because so it's just protect your
locker room at all costs. And I'm sure she regrets
saying that, don't get me wrong, but man, there's just
there's just some things that everyone probably knows you just
can't say. And you got to leave the front office.
You can have those conversations behind closed doors, but to
say to media, you know, it's kind of kind of brutal.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, and I guess this is fine or fine, but
that's she got suspinded.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
So they kind of answered it.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
I mean that you you should get fined, so well,
damn should I get fined for iypen? My teammates up
and talking about other players around the league of them
getting solid but.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
True a lot worse, Cavy, can we hop in tell
me something? Gladly accept your invite?
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Right with that being said, then here is Here's Lance.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
From Indiana. Wanted to know if either of you have
any fan bases college or pros that get under your
skin or that you have beef with, because I know
as a Chiefs fan there's plenty of fan bases that
try to get under our skin. Thanks guys, by.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I guess Sophie, that's a fucking perfect opportunity. Uh, who
do you hate?
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Fuck Kansas, baby dude. That was the most okay. First
of all, we started off really damn slow, and I
was like, all right, well, I'm like, what are we doing?
Throw the damn ball? They couldn't stop it. They couldn't
stop it. And then we settled in. Our quarterback chilled out.
He was getting in this rhythm, and then we just
freaking killed it.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
He's good Lance.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yes, as a Chief Sin there's a zillion fan bases
and team. I think I hated the Bengals so much
for the last few years, just given they kind of
played us really well in the regular season and just
in that one AFC championship game, and we like they
were kind of the Chiefs kryptonite. They've kind of been
humbled a little bit the last few years, but I
(33:35):
just felt like and Jamar Chase kind of fed into it.
He hates the Chiefs like that was a really tasty rivalry,
And I don't know, I feel like the Ravens and
Bills are just a little classier than the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
But I'll also say.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
To Sophie's hatred for Kansas, I hate the University of Montana.
They live in a way worse town, worst school, worst colors.
I got a cool stadium, but that is do I
learn to hate uh throughout my college career. And so
(34:10):
each hit, Grizzlies.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Go, Cats go.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Actually, you know it's funny someone, Yeah, that's what everyone says. Wait, Sophie,
look hold on.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
What he always does this and I never know when he's.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
That's a bunch of hats that just say each ship
grizz on him.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Dude, that is hilarious. Hey, you know we should do
that and go through like all the sayings or like not,
but like how we say ours is mister brightside. You
guys say that like did you know when you play
l s U there's this song and it's like, yes.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, come on dude, I'm I'm dialed.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
So I've never heard I read the first time two
years ago and I was like so just shocked, but
like so amazed at the same time.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Yeah. Uh all right, here's here's our next one.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Alyssa and Wes.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
She needs our help with them dating advice.
Speaker 7 (35:15):
So my name is Alyssa and I have a crush
on my code where we work in the e R.
Speaker 6 (35:20):
I don't know if I should approach her ship where
I what do you all think?
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Let me know, all right, co workers in the e R.
She wants to know the ship where she eats.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Okay, Alyssa, that was a lot. I feel like, so
it's in the e R, which to me? I uh
I that scares me?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Would you? I don't know if?
Speaker 1 (35:47):
But also does the trauma make you horny? Probably like
all the scariness? What do you think I bet it does.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
I think I just noded all myself.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
You're when you're adrenaline is through the roof, your your
hormones are also through the roof.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Can I tell you something if you are getting turned
on by.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Now what I said?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I just mean the environment is so adrenaline heavy that
like if you're working with someone like like does it
does it just raise the the chemicals in your body
and you're kind of just like everything feels intensified.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
You know now that you're saying that, Alista, please don't
answer that because.
Speaker 7 (36:38):
If I'm like in the e R and I actually
medical attention, I'm just the way thing in that like
you they're making out Hell, I not.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
It sticking out of your head and as.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
GM in it rain Like, No, I can't get into that.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
I am pro hooking up with coworkers, but just gotta
do it professionally, Alyssa.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
Also, do you guys need a third anyways? Next question?
Speaker 4 (37:18):
All right, last one from here West Coast Briant from California.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (37:22):
Hey guys, this is Brian from Paradise, California. My question
is for both of you, had either one of you
ever seen a UFO in Missouri.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Well, can we pause? Do we believe in UFOs?
Speaker 1 (37:41):
I can talk about this for an hour. I don't
think I believe in UFOs, but there is mathematically percent
chance that aliens exists. Just so we're clear. So here,
let me let me show you something. This, This will
be what we end on a Hi. I haven't seen Brian,
I haven't seen a UFO in Missouri, Missouri. I do
(38:05):
want to give a shout out to Missouri sunsets. It's
the best sunset.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Uh sunset?
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Okay, look the world. Okay.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Have you ever seen one of those two scale graphics
where it's like, here is the Moon, here's the Earth,
here's the Sun. It's nine hundred times bigger. And then
they're like, here's our galaxy. It's fucking huge. And then
they zoom out like a bunch more than They're like,
here are all the stars that we know exists. And
then they zoom out even more and they're like, we
know this exists, but we haven't explored it yet.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
If Earth exists with life on it, and there are
a gazillion more galaxies and stars and planets and suns,
the chances of there being other life is fucking one
hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
You know, I.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
Feel like there's stuff like UFOs we see, like space gears,
I said, I'll all get into because it freaks me
the fuck out. But I feel like that the government
plants a lot of that stuff here we go, So
it's hard for me to believe in like real UFOs.
Do I believe maybe there's other life out there. When
(39:12):
I see that type of stuff, it's like there has
to be like we can't meet only But then I'm like,
I don't know. But then like the stuff that we
do see that's like too obvious or whatever, like it's
I feel like it's the government. I've watched two.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
That's also just on Twitter with fucking Adobe Premiere. It's
not the government.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Well it could be that too, uh.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I there are always those videos where there's like a
star and this guy and everyone's like UFO, it's something
to like have fun with.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
I do think if a UFO ever like came into
our like into our world, it wouldn't look like how
we have made them up, looking in like cartoons for
the last however many years, you know, so like some
weird shape thing.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
Yeah, So I think to answer Brian's question, I don't
think we've seen a uf.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
I haven't either, And the next time we go, we
should lay out under the stars and keep our eyes peeled.
Speaker 4 (40:16):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Why don't you do that this weekend after you get
inducted into the Hall of Fame and they ask you
where you're going and say, you know what, I'm gonna
go lay in my backyard and look for.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
UFOs for Brian and California for Brian.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
Fuck yeah, Brian.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
I like that question.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
That was fun. That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
Is that what wait before we get do people in
California think that in Missouri? We just like look at
UFOs all fucking day.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
People in cities and like on the West Coast, they swear,
like Missouri, there's only like humans and cows cows.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
That's true though, there's nothing else, nothing, and you know
what there is? This is how we're in this bitch?
Speaker 4 (41:01):
Are we cue?
Speaker 1 (41:03):
After my cakeball game Thursday, I'm finding Kansas City to
go to Patrick in Travis's new restaurant.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
Do you make sure a document that I can't wait
is that after.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
They're doing one Saturday, and then I think people are
going Sunday after the.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Game, but I don't.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
I'm not going to go Sunday, but I'm going Saturday
night and then going to the game Sunday.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
How day is it Saturday? No, like the date of
Oh what's today?
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Nine? So it's probably twelve or thirteen or something.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
Oh oh, so this upcoming weekend.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
I already texted your whole team and said, can Sophie
come to Kansas.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
City this weekend? They all told me to eat shit.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
So yeah, the thirteenth, I'm taking my mom, so it'll
be really cute.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah she's nice. I like that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Yeah, Well it's been fun.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
Keep elevating that knee.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
We love you, go fever mylayass, I see yup.
