Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's also an outdoor park, so like the rims like,
it's especially tougher.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I hate a devil friend.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Well, when you do open both eyes, I don't know
why you had one eye closed.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It looked like you had one eye closes. Dude, I'm
eyeing it up close, Sophie. Your hair looks fantastic.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Today, dude, if people really want to know what it's
like in season, especial during playoffs. I have not touched
my hair in two days. I can't find my hair brush,
and I am exhausted.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Well, you're exhausted for good You're exhausted for good reason,
which is okay, thanks man. I mean I think I'm
going to hop right into because I don't think people
care about us dancing around random stuff. We're in the
thick of playoffs. One game one, which was so sick

(01:08):
they got their lick back Game two obviously, How are
you feeling going in game three? And if if you
want to break down one and two, like, I'll hear it.
But let's vibe check with running Hamm read I check
here we go. Okay, so huge freaking win.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
First game in Vegas, like sentenced on early we were
just on our shit and like it was. It was
good from the jump sense of urgency, defensive scheme, was
perfect offense, like Kelsey Mitchell's a freaking bee.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Don't know if you watch it.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I think she had like thirty four points, like she's
just going off and she was actually one of the runners,
one of the I think final five for MVP Owning
or whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
And Asia got it.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
So it's kind of cool that Asia has and now
Kelsey now they're kind of like battling, which I don't
know if that's the thing, but I make can get
a thing.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Like Aces gave there.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
They had media the next day and they gave us
no credit, like there's like oh week, especially like Asa,
She's like, oh, I just played bad, Like didn't I'm like, dude,
AB had you enclamps my girl?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
But I thought it was awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
And then we all kind of knew like game two,
like the league side of things, they definitely played better,
don't get me wrong.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Begas played better. They had junk defense, which was hard
for us.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
We didn't. We weren't hitting our shots whatsoever. Can I
interrupt you please? Junk you said junk defense? Yeah, can
you tell us what that means? Yes, Wes. I love this.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
So, like normally you either play like Manda man or
like a two three zone. A junk defense is like
when you do like a triangle in two or a
box and one or like it's just like it's just
a it's it's not a clean defense, so teams aren't
just used to it. It's called a junk defense.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
And why would a team run a junk defense instead
of something traditional.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well, so they were running kind of like man to man.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I think on.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Missus, I would say, because it's hard to match up
to get your junk defense on in transition. But then
I think what the ball was like silent out of
bounds or I wasn't.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I can't really remember.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
But because they want to stop Kelsey, so like that
is like our main offensive player, and so they box up,
which is like zones everyone else, and then someone just.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Stays on Kelsey the entire time wherever she's at.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah, so I mean it was it was a pretty
smart move, like Becky, but we have some tricks of
our slaves now. But yeah, now they're coming into our
house Friday tomorrow and it's about to be good, Like
our team's feeling good. So I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Stealing game one in any series, especially when you're away,
is like so massive, which I mean rarely is a
team going to sweep the first two games, especially on
the road. Ye, that first any series, any sport, it's
always if you're the underdog. If you can steal one,
just one first two and then go back home, you're

(04:08):
set up for success.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
So that's awesome. Yeah, it was game three. I mean,
I you're on the bench.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Now, so you're kind of in the thick of you
know what we're doing key takeaways. I don't know that
you guys want to execute in game three.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I don't want to give our schemes away yet.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
But I do think, no, don't give away scheme. You
can layman's terms.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
No, I'm just saying I think, like overall, what made
us so good the first game is like our attention
to detail, in our sense of urgency, like with the ball,
and to get in our offense and to get in
our defense and to getting our schemes.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
All of that was from the jump, and it like
punched them in the mouth early.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Were this this last game, we were just on our
heels and we were too slow, Like we weren't quick
enough from the jump, And so I guess the team
that's like that, who does have the MVP, who has
great players on their teams, a bunch of all stars,
a great coach and Becky like you just can't because
otherwise it's just so hard to come back from. So
I think that everyone's just gonna be more aggressive and
it's gonna be fun. Like I know that Gamebridge is

(05:12):
about to be freaking loud and pact and it is
so fun and so hard to play here.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
So I don't know, we sotle a game and that's huge,
like all the pressures on them, We're just here.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
And I agree, I agree. How was the atmosphere in Vegas?
I people forget I lived there actually randomly enough, my
office was in Cauge Palace.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
I didn't even need to do that.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
I but they the Aces are one of the first
pro teams in Yeah, Vegas and the Aces and the
nights and like that was kind of like what made
that city Inteliga sports city?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Like solid environment. Have you played in there in the
playoffs before?

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, I've played.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
I've played in there for like the last six years
because I think my first year was their first year
and it was their second year in Vegas. I will
say I thought that that place normally it's like packed
and sold out in loud, and like it really wasn't
like there was people there, but it was not how

(06:15):
it has been in the past couple of years, which
was like really interesting to me because last time we
were actually up there, we played at T Mobile. That's
like everyone was playing and we pretty much sold that
thing out. And I say we, like, I think they
did that because the Fever were in town, and so
I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
No, they played.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Uh huh, it's igh. Yeah, I forget what the court
is called. But it's like in Mandalay Bay, is it.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Their own court? Like is it their spot? T Mobiles?
Nice mobiles, really.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Nice T mobiles so nice, Like it's it's great. Why
is there the hockey team, the Golden.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Knights, gold it's a show like you wanted me.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Also crazy when I would go to those hockey games,
it's still Vegas and so everything is like ten times crazier.
They have like a like skating team that does like
start to so lay before the game and you're like,
what is it and they're like, oh, we're literally on
Los AGAs Boulevard.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah, that's kind of how they're like, that's how their
entertainment is too, and like their their music and everything.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
It's like you're in Joce Like it's like it's a nightclub.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
So it's fun.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah, it's a cool environment, I guess. But all good, Well.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
What's one up then? Yeah, well we I turn it up,
turn it up.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
I will say, I want to hear all about Sunday
night football party bus I've been why are you still
kind of feeling that a little?

Speaker 1 (07:47):
So this is actually one of my longest hangovers of
the year so far. Fucking mark it down. We just
well it's first off, all the Missouri boys were here,
so I had them on this couch. That couch my
new little guest room. Also, I will say one thing,

(08:11):
nothing makes you like not only clean up you're like
living space, but like make sure it's it's at its
highest level than having people come to stay with you.
So this was the first time I was like hosting,
so I was like getting I was getting shit, like
hung up on.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
The walls all day Thursday, making sure.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I had sheets, pillows for the guest room, like those
are all very normal things, but like you don't think
to do it.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, you don't think to do it until like the
people have.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Like left for the airport and like, oh my god,
I need clean pillow sheets for them in the guest room.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
But I think we crushed.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
And so we did this few years ago and the
Chiefs wade the Jets, but we did. I had people
over and then a bus comes and grabs us, hangs
out around Manhattan and then.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Then you know, stop at a bar and then go
to the game.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
So did Heidi Gardner actually get on.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yes, she rolled the rode the whole time. It was
like the She's so the best treat of all time.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I kind of just hit her up and was like, yo,
I don't know if you're going to the Giants game,
but I have a party bus, like all my Missouri
boys are coming to want to come with us. And
she was like I also have a party bus. There's
ten of us, Like should we just conjoin ours? And
I was like do it. So she canceled hers and
then like came to my door with like ten of

(09:37):
her homies and then they all we everyone pregamed here.
Some of our friends got here before her, and I
was like, oh hey, like what's up? And they were
were Heidi's friends were from Kansas City, blah blah blah blah,
And I was like, get cozy, get a beverage, like,
let's do it. Then Heidi shows up. We like all
go to the bus like obviously everyone knows who she is.

(09:59):
She's like iconic.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
And yeah, We're like riding around the we pit stop.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
A bar, and then I was like, where is Heidi,
Like like everyone's on the bus, I can't find her.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
She comes running around the corner and has.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Three giant pizza boxes, comes back onto the bus and
it's just like giving them out, like it's like a
whole pizza party. Everyone's like taking slices like it was
the most fun day ever.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
She was good vibes. Everyone's good vibes, and like all
my friends left her alone for the most part, which
was cool because she's obviously, you know, important to.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Normal.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Yeah, she's like went to Ku for a little bit,
transferred him to you, dropped out, went to La to act,
and now is like a Saturday Night Live icon.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I think she left the freaking icon. We need to
have her on the damn podcast.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
I think she would she would in two seconds. Yeah,
we have, like there's like picture I was just sending
her all over pictures from the bus from everyone's like
film cameras and stuff. But people were saying in my apartment,
they're like, how did you and Heidy become friends? And
I was like, I think Missouri, people just find each other.

(11:11):
We do know, and like the things stick together.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Yeah, we're not afraid to like reach out, and like
everyone's kind of like a chill, fun, good vibe that
like people just click.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
And so she invited me over to her house Sunday
for the Chiefs Ravens game and I was like, to
see you there, Wait, just you and Heidi. No, it's
like all our Chief's friends. But I'll probably pull up
bring a bottle of wine. It's a happy housewarming. I
don't even know if it's their housewarming.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
But.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
It was just so fun. Wait, like is she West?
Say it again?

Speaker 3 (11:43):
How old is she?

Speaker 1 (11:45):
And she's like forty maybe, I don't know. She looks
very youthful. Yeah, she looks great. So yeah, huge staple
on the bus. And then we went to the game.
Kind of a ros first half, but they figured it out.
Chiefs are back in the w call them and then

(12:07):
it was like an extra like two hundred bucks to
have the bus stay in the parking lot and like
wait for us that no, so then everyone comes back,
We meet back on the bus and it drives us
back to Manhattan and like it was a nightclub in
that goddamn bus.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
You go out, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
No, but it well, it was Sunday, so you kind
of got to behave a little. But the day started
it like one.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Sunday, you got to behave.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
And isn't kickball normally on Sundays.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Kickball's on Thursdays.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
We see that and we're recording this, uh three hours
before kickoff and it's gonna be a rainy one. I
may or may not have rain and got football cleats.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Dude, I saw when season's over, I want to come
up there and like commentate.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
One years you have to No, you come play. We
can sub as long as it's not the playoffs. Oh yeah, yeah,
I'll see. I'll take this a lot.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Icing if my trainers are watching this, I'm icing.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, forgot about that. Oops, It's okay.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
But I also saw on your preakant Instagram that you're
about to do a celebrity basketball game.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Hah, I'm kind of nervous. Yeah, that's actually the reaction
that I feel.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
As well.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Should I hook you up with some Adidas basketball shoes? I? Yes, please,
I'm out, I like all of mine are like either.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
I never want to say that that I'm out of
basketball shoes weirdo.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Well, I just mean I don't know. I have a
lot of shoes, and all my.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
B ball shoes aren't here. Can you get Adidas to
overnight me some before Saturday?

Speaker 6 (13:47):
Dude?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah I can.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I'll text my my girl now after the pond.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Yeah, they're probably like uber uber some here. Maybe any
tips going into a celeb basketball game?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Honestly, I have never been a part of one, so
I have no idea what it even like consists of,
Like is it just all celebrities and you guys are
all just like hoopin'.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
One of the dudes is from Love Island, but I
think he like loves basketball. His name's Ace. So but
I can as long as i think I'm not open
for like a jump shot in the corner, I'll be
fine because I can. Or if someone makes me go left,
those are the things that can get me in trouble.
Are you like so good.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Are you gonna like play hard or are you gonna like.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
I know, I like go with traffic, like however fast
everyone's moving, all goes. I'm not gonna be like a
total but I'm gonna like get boards. I'll get boards.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Outlet outlet, outlet. I like that. A couple of sis. Yes,
I like that, Like I'll do cool stuff.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Yeah, oh wait, can we tune into this?

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I don't know. It's for the nets. It's like to
kick off like the like nets season. Dude, that's actually dope.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I think it's cool, and it's outside New York is
New York is, so it's not like famous for but
New York has so many outdoor parts where people like
really really really hoop.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I kind of feel like you guys are famous for that.
Like yeah, there's like ones in town that are like dope.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Yeah, dude, I think it's gonna be cool. I think
it'll be like a fun little vibe for sure.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Here's like our uniforms. I don't know if I'm gonna
be black or white, but they like it'll be fun.
Oh yeah, try to make you proud this the next
pod after it's either gonna I'm either gonna come to
you with like that was scary or like I.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Really held my own and I think you'd be proud.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
I'm not thing this out there, but just watch your knees, okay,
because we both can't be with bum knees.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Sophie, jeez. We Also because it's kickball season. You're fine. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I was gonna say you play cackball every week? You're fine.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
We can we get a stat line for you.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
I'm not even gonna put let's go four points. Let's
get real realistic because everyone's gonna play too. Say I
catch fire, I'm still gonna sub. Let everyone else play.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
What two layups or a three.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
One breakaway like that right place, right time. Let's go
to let's go four points?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Uh eight? Give me ten boards? Damn give me ten boards?
Force this? How does that sound? Ship? Are you okay
with that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
I'm the balls, the laws on the boards, babe.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, people like I feel like football guys like will
go get the ball?

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Well, actually, now that I'm thinking about that, if you,
I don't know who these lubs are, but like can
they shoot? Is there gonna be a lot of rebounds?
So probably like probably and not trying to like diminish your.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Like, no, no, it's a celeb game. You can touch.
You can say that we're not going to be making
every every shot.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you know, but I think like
five points west, I think you need to up your
anti a little.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
You think i'll make an anything, I'll make a three.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Ye, I do five, ten and four with three fouls.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
It's also an outdoor park, so like the rims like,
it's especially tougher.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I hate a friend.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Well, when you used to open both eyes, I don't
know why you had one eye closed.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
It looked like you had one eye closes. Dude, I'm
eyeing it up.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Damn well, I'll try to make you proud, yep, real quick.
Either side of the bracket, you can plead the fifth
and not answer this question.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Okay, that's probably the smartest choice for me.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Do you want the best for the Phoenix Mercury when
you watch them play?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Like, do you find yourself rooting for them? Or are you.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Okay, I didn't ask, Okay, fair, Okay, better question. Yeah,
I'm not even letting you answer. I'm not letting you answer.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Who do you you? Who do you want to see?
If we get past Vegas.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Honestly, I don't care, Like I think that we are
literally the Cinderella team right now. And yeah, I know
early in the podcast I was like the fresh is
all on them, like we're just fucking shit up. But like, honestly,
if you aways think about with all of our adversity
and everything we've been through, like we've seen it all
and now we just have to go perform because like

(18:25):
we deserve to be here, and like if everyone's healthy,
we one hundred percent deserve to be here. But we're not,
and the people who have come in, they've stepped up tremendously,
and it's been so fun to actually watch, Like it
is hard to sell to actually watch because.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
You want to be out there.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
But as a teammate, I'm so proud of them, and
so I'm so focused on like Friday's game and like
taking one day at a time because I know that
this team, like we have enough great and toughness that like.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Whoever you put in front of us, we're like.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
People don't want to play us because we're kind of
a wild card, which is fun. So I don't know
who i'd want to face off, Like they're both great,
great teams and they're both playing really well and have
MVP candidates and All Stars on their team as well.
I would probably say Minnesota because it's closer and it's
in the isn't the same time zone?

Speaker 2 (19:12):
No, I think they're essentially Wait.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
But no, I'm pretty sure Indiana and I actually want
keV to google this. I think that Indiana and Arizona
are two states that when daylight saving happens, daylight savings happens,
you don't flip like I think, you get East coast
and you also get Central.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Because I know that we I know in Arizona, you're right,
but I don't know here. I haven't been here long enough.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
I think Indiana Arizona the only two states that do that.
What are do any states not set their clocks back
or do they change time zones after daylight savings? I
think Indiana does, East Eastern and Central.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Is that coming up or something daily savings?

Speaker 3 (19:55):
It might be because sure that's the only thing.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Is one hour compared to three hours, like, the time
change is better and it's close to fly.

Speaker 7 (20:02):
In the US, Hawaii and most of Arizona do not
observe daylight savings time.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Indiana that it doesn't count for Indiana.

Speaker 4 (20:11):

same time.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Every Oh my god, are you first? Okay?

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Well, I for this whole time, I thought, Okay, did
you say I'm the East Coast.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
At different time zone?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
I thought I thought for some reason that you've been
Central this whole time, because I think the first like
three times we did this. I'm not blaming keV, but
he was like he was like, oh, so like nine
thirty a m. Eastern Standard time for West and then
would like say an hour behind for you, and I like,
really fucking threw me off.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Good work, keV.

Speaker 7 (23:09):
I'm gonna take I'm gonna take a hear of that one.
I will say it's so much true. I want to
say Game two she was in Phoenix, though I was
episode two, Episode.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Two, episodes in LA.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
But I will say Game episode three I definitely did
that where I'm like, oh, we could just be fine
using Eastern time. Now I'm gonna pass the buck further
up the line, so another name, but I won't even
take it that I'm just gonna produces. We're I'm gonna
take that one and take that one.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Okay, well we're learning things now.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Really, you guys are doing behind the scenes that our
podcast is a shit show all over the place.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
It's not just mean what also, Kevin.

Speaker 7 (23:45):
I've seen someone in the comments sessions say they need
a new producer and now I can no longer be
the time.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
That's not true, No, put up with us.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
I was telling someone at dinner how I feel like
I am a good listener and question ask, but I
people comment that I interrupt you all the time, and
I have tried to be better, but I think you
say stuff and it like prompts another question out of me,
So I keep going. But I need to be better
at like sitting letting you talk your shit and then

(24:15):
like maybe be comfortable with silence and then grab the microphone.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
Okay, I'll also say I catch myself doing that with
you too. But it's also we're going to be in person,
hopefully more when we're out of season, and it's so
much easier to like be in person. So we're doing
a good job, and so is Kevin. So anyone who's
saying those native comments I got.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
I got a text yesterday that said I'm with a
big fan, can you call me. So it's the main
morning radio host of ATEN Radio in Kansas City, and
he was with He passed the phone to like, I
think it's like his daughter's volleyball teacher. She was like,
I listen to the podcast every single time it comes
out in the first few hours.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Like I love you guys, blah blah blah blah blah.
She obviously lives in Case, but I was like, oh,
I love that.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
And so then I talked to Stephen again, so shout
out Stephen Saint John, who's like one the best radio
voice in the whole country, but two huge missoo guy,
Big chiefs cut, Big girls guy, and he was like,
would love to have you guys on.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Obviously we would like promo the pod.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
But I think if you and I are the next
time you're and I are in Kansas City at the
same time, I'm going.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
To wake up early and go do morning radio.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
You look like this even though it's dinner time. This
is how Yeah, that should be fun.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Speaking of a phone interviews, should we get into or
tell me something?

Speaker 2 (25:36):
So down The first one is a comment not a
voicemail Mathias as no Matias. I hope I'm doing injustice.
Really like your show. Congrats from Chile. Wow, shout out Chile.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
I don't know how many times that's gonna happen in
the history of this pod, but shout out from Chile.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
We shouldn't we have it.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Let's let's do a live show in Chile. Okay, by
the way, what advice can you give me to deal
with an issue of not finding a partner in all
of my twenty nine years, despite having a nice job,
not getting in trouble and working on my shape. Mitayas
you're looking at one, brother, it's don't feel bad. Here's

(26:17):
what's crazy to me. People are always like, I'm single.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
I'm a single. One brother.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
You just told me you got a great job, you
have money to go travel, you're working on your shape,
which means you gotta bang in bod.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Hit the streets. Argentina's close to you, Brazil's close to you.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
God, do you just go downhill so fast?

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Less you're so good? What do you mean hit the streets?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I don't mean like being like a horn dog. I
mean go live your life and then it's gonna come
to you. You know, like, I I think people who
are like who need who feel like they need to
be dating someone, you're gonna you're gonna settle Madais.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
And I don't want that for you.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I want you to live your best life, which already
sounds like you've got the ingredients.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
You know someone's gonna come when you're not looking.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Mitias, Okay, I agree with all that.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
And another thing is I think it's so important to
date yourself and like not like keep keep filling your
cup up because you have the rest of your life
to be worried about someone else. Like this is your
only time to like do what you want and only
be worried about you. Like, guys, think about that. Do
you ever think about that? That, Like you have the

(27:30):
next like sixty years to be worrying about husband, wife
or kids or all of that. We're like, this is
a time where you should be filling up your own cup.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, I will say, Mitias.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Also, I think like, at least for me my parents' age,
they like they were like at least in like the
eighties nineties. Yeah, it was pretty it was pretty typical, right,
like school, education, marriage, job, kids, Like there's a there
was a clear pattern. I don't think it's as strict

(28:01):
as it used to be. I got a lot of
single friends who taste, and I'm thirty, just one fresh
year ahead of you. Uh, the clock's not over. You're
you're a very young cat. Keep rocking it, you know.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I wonder what is the culture in Chile? Is it?

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Kind of like great question? So keV can we get
you for that one?

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Let's ask you what is dating culture or what are
dating traditions in Chile?

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Dating traditions?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Chat tell me about? I think is it more traditional.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
In Chile?

Speaker 7 (28:37):
Let's see. Okay, they blend Latin American romance, Catholic cultural values,
and a growing modern globalized dating culture.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Modernized you have? Yeah, my taste, You're good? Nine is
twenty nine? Is is child's play? Give yourself a little time.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
You're going because your thirties are your best years.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
So like, I've heard a bunch too, I keep working
on that banging bod you got.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, I want to know his job. Probably a Chilean lawyer.
It's nice. Maybe he works in tourism as to like.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Make Machu Piachu seem less cool because Machu Pacha is
in Peru, right, above him and maybe he's working on
getting people down to the to the Patagonias.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Oh dude, ysh, my little mapster.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
So good, master boy. You know I won the geography
be in fifth grade.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Now why would I know that?

Speaker 2 (29:39):
I don't know? You were probably there? Did you revoting
for me? Edison hour? Anyways? Yeah, good luck. Here we go.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Hi, Sophie, it's Maryland, one of your fans. I just
watched your games on TV. But what I wanted to know,
I was always real tall and my grade school, and
I was just wondering, were you the tallest kid in
your class always.

Speaker 8 (30:09):
Or not?

Speaker 5 (30:11):
Whatever? I just felt real awkward when I was the
tallest kid in the class. But the other question I
had was what kind of things did you play at recess?
Did you play baseball with the boys? Did you what
kind of things did you play outside with? You know,
when you were in elementary school? That's all I wanted

(30:33):
to know. Thank you? Bye.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
What a sweet woman.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Okay, well, first of all, Marilyn, you seem like a
freaking saint, like she just seems so sweet in your voice,
so sweet. I know i'd want to get rag. But
thank you for supporting us and me. I guess I
was always pretty much the taller girl. We had some
tall boys in my grade, but like all the girls,
I pretty much towered over. There's another girl named Katie

(30:59):
and she super tall too, so like she's on my
good friends. But I think my parents and like my
family just gave me confidence to be tall, and so
I embraced it. So I loved it. And I know
that that's not always the story for a lot of people.
I actually, is this really sad.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
I actually hear a lot of tall girls and some
boys they get bullied for being tall when they're younger.
I'm like, that's so sad, and so thankfully I was
not like that.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
But I think our bands always told us like that
is gonna be your biggest superpower, is like your height
and your strength and all that. And now I'm playing
in the WNBA, So I guess I just like leaned
into being confident in that. So sorry Maryland that your
experience was maybe not like that. But when it comes
to my recess fun, we played actually a lot of kickball,

(31:46):
a lot of tetherball, a lot of basketball, tag soccer.
We had a fun recess growing up. So but I
remember like tether ball was a huge thing back then.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Did you go to CCS.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Yeah, I went to public school and we could do
whatever we wanted.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Did you guys have like the tether balls? We had
tether ball?

Speaker 1 (32:13):
I think tether ball was always like on the cusp
of being banned because people were just like getting absolutely smoked.
But we, I like, we played basketball most days. Sometimes
if I got bored, I would go play four square,
but it was always Zach Hamilton and Rione Tapia against

(32:34):
me and Kyle Tawny's And it was always just like
Zach and Rione would win like four days of the week,
and then Kyle and I would like we would sneak
one in. But they were taller and Zach was good
at threes, and Kyle and I just kind of like
were more chemistry based.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Dude, I forgot about four square. We used to play
a ship town four square.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Anyways, Marilyn, that's a really good question. Yeah that is
I love that.

Speaker 6 (33:00):
Hey, Phelpy, Hey, where I could keep all the way
from back to the fu k e rec well because
fuck him. Uh So, I have a question, what do
you think I should do? So a few years ago
I lent my father four grand. He thought a good kid,
he's a good adventor.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
Right. Keep in mind, my father had to come back
and in my life not too long ago, and he said,
you want to start a business anyway. Come to find
out years later Will did here. Apparently he's gonna loone start.
So now the person he lent the money to doesn't
one to pay him back. So what I'm trying to
ask is like, should I steal my dad for the

(33:38):
four grand? Because he kind of didn't he kind of
betrayed my trucks where I can keep why freaking out
of my life all this time. But I'm like, dude,
that's my four grand. You keep saying like I'll get
you back. I'll get you back, but I don't know,
like I was gonna give him to the end of
the year, he give me back my four grand. But
should I looking at the lawyers or something?

Speaker 2 (33:59):
I don't know. I clearly have daddy issues.

Speaker 8 (34:01):
So yeah, let me know why you guys you think
I should do anyway? Love you guide and word the
merk you want merch Now.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
I used to think that podcasts when they would have
people call in, I thought the questions are like fake
when they were like so insane.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
That is bonky. I uh my.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
My biggest question is what was your relationship like with
your dad prior to this? Is it like one thing
he did where you're kind of like what the fuck?
Or like has he always been kind of sketchy? I
guess if he didn't know he was like a loan shark.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
That's also scary.

Speaker 7 (34:36):
A loan.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Like someone who gives out money. I think to bookies
can look keV can we look up the pure definition
of loan shark?

Speaker 7 (34:49):
My guys, So a loan shark, let's see someone or
a group who lends money an extremely high interest rates,
often illegally and yeah, intimidation, reat or violence like payment.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Okay, so it's like okay, so.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
It's like illegal like non traditional ways of like loaning
money and then like kind of being an asshole by
but like that's how the mob made all their money.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Yeah, I've always wanted to be a mobster. Side note, but.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
I think that I would have to agree with the
fuck ku part, So I'll give him that.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
I would agree with.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Maybe his dad needs the fore grand, but like what's
that relationship? Like it's like, yeah, how bad do you
need the four grand?

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (35:44):
I don't want to say this on air because this
could be would be crazy, should I not say it?
I don't want your dad to get like beat up
because like people are after him. You know, if the
four k that you gave him is like keeping him safe,
then that's better for him.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
But the big question he asked was do you sue
your dad?

Speaker 3 (36:04):
I don't think you should do that.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
I don't think you do it either, because I think
it sounds like he might be in some muddy waters.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
I say, just stay weird, Yeah, stay clear of those waters.
And maybe if you don't really need the four grand
too bad right now, then just hold off on it.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
But don't, Ah, that's tough. If your dad thinks maybe
he can take advantage of you like that because he's
your dad, maybe we start now setting the standard that, like, dad,
you're not gonna do that shit to me moving forward.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
But don't invite him.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
To stop giving dad the money because he can't hand him.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Don't invite him to Thanksgiving. Obviously you're gonna invite him
to Christmas, but let's not invite him to Thanksgiving this
year that's in like two months. Make him feel it
and like then be like hey, Christmas, you know why
you want Thanksgiving and hopefully he starts to kind of like,
you know.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
That's a crazy call. Good luck with that though. Be safe.
Chiefs are what they're home underdogs this weekend.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
If your dad needs if your dad needs some locks.
I'm not even a betting guy. I'm not even sports betting.
I just wanted to help his dad.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
We do need to get some merked out there though.
That is like the number one thing that people have
been telling me is like, merch, merch, merch, merch.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Well this is so fun.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
What are three core values of a healthy relationship and
what are the three core values of the Indiana fever?

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Do you want the relationship one?

Speaker 2 (37:35):
I don't think I should be the one who answers,
but I can do it.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Well, we can both. Let's both answer that one. Then
I think you gotta go trust. I think you gotta go.
I think you gotta go history because that means something
to me. I think you can judge a person a
lot based on like, are all their friends like very
new and it feels very like, oh, we're best friends,
we've known each other for like six months, and then

(38:00):
they have a new best friend. I believe in history
or like longevity, and then let's go for me fun laughter,
like being able to like not take yourself too seriously.
Those are my three and those are also the fevers fun, trust,

(38:23):
damn mer we over me, cats, character, accountability, toughness state.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
That's one. Yeah, one do you guys have on the
wall anywhere like a slogan?

Speaker 4 (38:37):
You know we do, but they have been changing our
pictures and stuff, and I haven't been in there in
a hot minute since I ant my leg, but I
do know ours is like standard over feeling, So that's
a that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
That's a great one.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
I love feelings are so up and down, so like
standard over feelings. I know one of them is we
over me, like choosing the team about you and then
like you're there's like so many of like accountability, drust, communication,
all those but like.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Yeah, wait, it's gonna kill me if I don't remember
the one that I was just trying to say. It's
it was about in order of things that matter and
it's like team in your position group than you. Oh
but that's like yeah, that's kind of the we over me,
Like yes, very much.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
So yeah, yeah, I like that. It was good.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
I would say my my relationship ones. I think mine
would be more faith based, so like that sets the standard.
But out of those, I would say love, communication and fun.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Love. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
I also, I guess when I was seeing relationship, I
was saying like dating, which is why I said trust.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
I guess I like, I have.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
A lot of like dumb friends, so I probably don't trust.
But there's still my boys and that's a good relationship. Yeah,
but I trust them as in like it's hard to say.
I think I'm like blindly trustworthy, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
That's actually such a valid thing that like it depends
what type of relationship I was thinking. He was thinking
more romantic relationship, but like there's so many of like
literally my best guy friends are best girls, not really girlfriends,
but more of my guy friends that like I love
them and I trust them. But if I was trying
to date them, I would never date them.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah of course. So then yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
And also like your parents, like, I great relationship with them,
and I've never considered trust ever because I feel like
it's built in.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Yes, but like our boy who just called, maybe it's not.
So then maybe that is a pillar.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
Well, I think also we when it comes to like
relationships and stuff. I think us two really did get
blessed with like getting being raised in a great family
of like learning those things, and like being comfortable at
home and having those.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Great relationships with our parents.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
That like the more that I'm out in the world
and learning, like, we're very blessed, Like a lot of
people do not have that a lot.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Of no, And I think I've had to learn a
lot the last few years about this and like kind
of how it's made me.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
And I think that like.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
I probably take for granted those things because it's like
so stable where I grew up and my parents even
still today, that like I don't walk outside looking for.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Like a perfect relationship or like feeling like I need to.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Like like find it, because I've never once felt like
it wasn't there for me, you know, and like my
friends and family relationships are so strong that I don't
I guess I'm not like.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Trying to perfect relationships.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
That I'm in, like dating wise, you know, we're also
it's taking a long time to learn that.

Speaker 4 (41:59):
Well, yeah, I think, but that's not like again, I
think everyone has a thing, but that's not your fault.
That that's all you've known, so like you're gonna have
to learn certain things through different situations and scenarios. But
also it's like when we know we can come home
or like even call our parents and have like someone
who truly loves us. I think, I don't know, it's
kind of cool learning about other people's stories because like

(42:23):
we really in different situations.

Speaker 1 (42:26):
You know, it's hard to just wake up and like
be able to put yourself in other people's shoes perfectly.
But that's kind of why you have a life, is
to like go through those and like learn things, whether
that's like easy or the hard way. And then I think,
but like being empathetic and trying to like learn from

(42:47):
every time you go through something that like sucks that, Like,
you know, everyone's journey is different and it shapes us all,
like and.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
We all struggle.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
We're all confident and certain areas, but we also all
struggle like with certain things regardless. So I don't know,
I just think it's all about listening and understanding.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
So I don't know, fu, yeah, are we ending to
podcasts in a row and a wholesome dude?

Speaker 2 (43:14):
I kind of think, so look at us, go we're
growing up, go fever? What's your or your What the
hell is wrong.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
With my brain? What's your kickball team's name?

Speaker 2 (43:26):
Beast Infection? Oh god, yea.

Speaker 1 (43:31):
Say it?

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (43:33):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
