Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Oh it is a Tuesday. We are stacked. Justin Herbert,
great American hero in overtime the Chargers, I mean, the
Eagles even had extra days to prepare. What a night
last night for Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert. One hour
from now the Herd hierarchy. Will those bums from Philadelphia

(00:49):
even make.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
The top ten?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I'll try to squeeze Buffalo in.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
That was great.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
That signifies how valuable a great head coach, a great quarterback,
and an ascending rising coordinator Jesse Minter Are I mean,
think about this. The Chargers are now nine to four.
They lost to Bosa both Pro Bowl level tackles on
their third string running back and last night their quarterbacks

(01:21):
off hand surgery, and they beat a stacked Eagles roster.
All I've heard all year with Philly is well Landon
Dickerson is nine hundred percent. You know, Lane Johnson's out.
Sorry not Sirianni. I'm done listening to it. Davonte Smith,
AJ Brown, Saquon Barkley, most of the best offensive line

(01:45):
in football. The Eagles are zero and three without a
starting right tackle. The Chargers are four and three without
both their tackles, and whenever Justin Herbert plays with a
broken hand.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Last night was all grit and all coaching.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Justin Herbert didn't want to be the Bolts leading rusher,
but he was pressured on sixty eight percent of his throws.
That is the worst pass protection any quarterback in any
game has faced all season. So I've said this for years.
If you don't get Justin Herbert, you don't get it.
That kid's taken up beating a record setting beating. He's

(02:22):
under siege. Last night he finally got one of his
running backs back backups everywhere in the offensive line. He's
stiff arming people in overtime coming off of broken hand,
and pff I look this morning has him as the
sixth highest rated quarterback. So they're nine and four, not

(02:42):
to mention in a division with Andy Reid and Sean Payton,
the raining Super Bowl champs and the number one seed Denver,
and they're nine and four. I mean, it was it
was a dicker, the kicker. It was Tony Jefferson retired
a couple of years ago. He has four this year.
It was Harball, it was Herbert, it was the special teams,

(03:03):
it's the kicking, it's Jesse Minter. I mean, to me,
head coaching quarterback is more than just dia gramming some
plays and completing some passes. It is about resilience and toughness.
And this is a very interesting number the last two years.
We always talk about coaches, and I think Harball has

(03:24):
as good as coach as any coach in my life,
if you count college in pro.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
I think he's that good.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
This team is thirteen and four the last two seasons.
After Week eight. That is coaching. That is culture, That
is toughness, that is resilience. I mean, this team averaged
three point nine yards of play. This is the best roster,
the Eagles roster in the league. Herbert's pressured sixty eight

(03:50):
percent of the throws. They should have been blown out.
They're on backups all over the offensive line facing one
of the great defenses Philadelphia in the league, and yet
they get five turnovers, pulled them away from Philadelphia. I mean,
Herbert just broke his hand, just had surgery. Here's Jim

(04:11):
Harbaugh dushing over Herbert and.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Justin Herbert he's a superhero.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
He is a competitive maniac.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I mean, he was even stiff arming guys, you know,
with a broken hand, and he had surgery a week ago,
and out here tonight. It's it's it felt like like
I was in a MOVI. Like we were in a
movie where you know, the quarterback's doing these and it's
like you get to the point where we go, Okay,
this is getting a little unrealistic.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
You know, That's what it felt like to me.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
It really is amazing that this team is nine to four,
still has a chance to win their division. Play the
Chiefs next. All right, let's talk about a young man.
I like, but this was officially a bad day at
the office. Jalen Hurts four picks in a fumble and
a passer rating slightly over thirty one. One thing, let's

(05:10):
stop arguing about this one thing that has become obvious
for Jalen Hurts. He is a circumstances quarterback. If the
old line's perfectly healthy. If the offensive coordinator is great,
if Saquon Barkley is having an amazing nighter season, if
the defense is number one like last year, he's pretty successful.

(05:32):
Justin Herbert's doing it with no ifs. Some quarterbacks are
hot air balloons. They're dependent on the weather, Justin Herbert,
and some quarterbacks are fighter pilots. Just give me the coordinates.
I like Jalen Hurts in tangibles a plus plus. But
the Eagles have now lost five straight games. When they

(05:57):
asked Jalen Hurts to just throw thirty times, just thirty
last night, he had to throw forty times and became
the only quarterback to have two turnovers on one play.
The Eagles have a head coach that is entirely dependent
on offensive coordinators and a quarterback that's dependent on mostly

(06:20):
a perfect setting. Last year's Super Bowl Colin last year's
Super Bowl, Oh, give me a break.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
They won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
This is a.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
General manager owner, first franchise. I've said this about Nick Siriani,
the top head coaches, Shanahan. We've seen Matt Lafleur do
it this year. McVeigh Vrabel. They can fix a broken
side of the ball. Lafleour's offense was broken a month ago.
Now it's great. We've seen Vrabel do this. The old

(06:50):
lines banged up. He can fix it in season. I
don't think Sirianni can. I don't think that's who he is.
I'm watching that game last night.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
It hit me.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
It's hard to believe the positivity Bunny didn't work, it
didn't have a bigger impact. I thought that thing was
a goofy reach, and I wonder about his future because
Philly is like LSU football. They don't win, they don't care,
no sacred cows. With the Philadelphia Eagles, they've moved off
super Bowl winning quarterbacks and super Bowl winning coaches.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
But I don't want to hear.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I love Lane Johnson, but you got Saquon and that defense,
and Devonte Smith and AJ Brown and yeah, AJ.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Dropped a pass.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
And I love so much about Jalen Hurts, but he's
a circumstances quarterback if everything's lined up. That's not what
Herbert was last night. Chargers had no business winning that game,
that whole line against that Philly d Come on, here's
Sirianni on the ugly night for Jalen.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Hurts, this game is the ultimate team game. So it's
never you know, it's never just on one person. Now, ultimately,
he always has the ball in his hands, and I
know he'll he'll wear a lot of that and own that,
and I got to do a better job of helping
them in those scenarios. Again, it's always it's never just
on execution, right, Obviously, never want to turn the ball over.

(08:19):
We've been pretty good at that and tonight was a
little uncharacteristic of ourselves.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
They're probably still going to win their division, but the
NFC East, arguably it's one of the weaker divisions. If
you go look at the standings right now in the NFL,
almost without exception, whoever leads them either has a great
coach like a Sean Payton, a Mike Rabele, or you

(08:45):
have a great quarterback. There are very few exceptions on that.
Some are high profile, you know, like like Philadelphia. Some
are like the Texans, great coach, great defense. But right now,
what's great, I mean the personnel is. But I mean
we all know this, Sirianni is totally coordinator dependent, and

(09:08):
last night was another example that Jalen is a circumstantial guy.
If everything's in line, he can win a super Bowl.
But remember Nick Foles won a Super Bowl. Trend Delver
won a Super Bowl, Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl,
Rex Grozman got to a Super Bowl. Stan Humphreys got
to a Super Bowl. Fine professional athletes, but sometimes things
line up with the Eagles. This year just things haven't

(09:32):
quite perfectly lined up, and they are an absolute mess
on offense. So what a what a wild wild game
last night? I kept waiting for the damn to burst,
j Mac. You kept thinking, Okay, Philadelphia has got too

(09:53):
many good players.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Philadelphia is going to win this football game.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
And there is something to be said about perseverance and
just hanging around. I thought, justin Herbert in overtime, he
didn't want to run, and even Hardball was just calling
it just justin, just get us first downs, moved the chains.
I would say this, it's a top five gut check
win all season by a team. Yeah, I mean it

(10:17):
was really there was a lot of reasons. I mean,
Philadelphia was a road favorite, and for most of the
game you kept saying, Okay, they can't throw another pick.
The Eagles can't keep turning it over, and they just
the Chargers just stayed close, hung in and then in overtime.
You know, it's funny when it went to overtime was

(10:37):
the first time the entire game. I'm like, Oh, the
Chargers will win. Really, I felt all night. I thought
Philadelphia all night. I'm like, they can't. He can't keep
throwing picks.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
Well, you know, he didn't get any help from AJ
Brown on the final drive that Brown had three drops
for the game, dropped the touchdown on the corner of
the end zone. That's a tough one for Philly coming.
I'm just worried about Justin Herbert. Can he continue to
survive this? They got the Chiefs this week in probably
one of the biggest games of the season, and he
needs to not get sack seven times on the road.

(11:10):
I'll just say this, I don't think the Chiefs are
dead yet. I don't think the season's over. If they
beat the Chargers, we're gonna start hearing here.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Comes Mahomes, Here comes Andy Reid.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Isn't it remarkable though the betting markets, the Chargers are
what like a three and a half point underdog, and
you watch the Chiefs offense.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
What do they do well?

Speaker 6 (11:28):
But they don't block the guy who got hurt on
the first play. He's out for the season now.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
So it's the market still respects the Chiefs. The market does,
but you're watching them and you're like, this is what
a dynasty does. You keep giving it in your mind,
you keep giving it chance after chance after chack.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
I think the Chargers are a better team than Chiefs. Yes,
I agree.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
I mean, does the market know that Andy Reid has
turned into Dan Campbell going.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
For all these four downs?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Come on, it's crazy, so our Herd hierarchy in one
hour plus Nick Wright having to come to grips with
the chief season.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah, you'd think Notre Dame, they got so many smart
people at the university would get how petty, small, whiny
and bad they look this week. So they're athletic director
and Notre Dame. I've always been a fan because they
asked their kids to go to class. It's hard, it's
very academic. The religious umbrella. It's rural, it's in the
middle of nowhere. It's not easy to win. It's not glamorous.

(13:03):
The weather's lousy in the winter and sometimes the fall.
Like I respect them, but they always love being independent,
you know, on their own island, and yet now they
won't commit full time to a conference. Now they don't
like being on that island. Here is Pete Bubbuckwall the
ad on the Dan Patrick Show, not liking the fact

(13:27):
that at the ACC seemed to promote Miami more than
you know, half member Notre Dame.

Speaker 8 (13:36):
Just we didn't appreciate the fact that we were singled
out repeatedly and compared to Miami. But it raised a
lot of eyebrows here that the conference was taking shots
We were mystified by the actions of the conference to
attack you know, their biggest really business partner in football
and a member of their conference in twenty four of

(13:59):
our other sports. They have certainly done permanent damage to
the relationship between the conference and Notre Dame.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yeah, what relationship you're dating.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
The ACC has proposed to Notre Dame three times and
they won't say.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yes, you've heard the song. Put a ring on it.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I mean, you won't even allow the ACC to meet
your parents. Sorry, Notre Dame. It's a bad look. Notre
Dame has loved their independence. Last time they won a Natty,
there were twenty five independent programs. Now even BYU figured
it out join a conference. So if you had a
therapist this week called gas lighting, you're making something up.

(14:40):
You won't commit to the ACC. Miami's been a twenty
one year fully committed member. They put a ring on it.
So don't be shocked if the ACC is like, yeah, yeah,
we think Miami beat him head to head, We're gonna
push for Miami. So this idea that Notre Dame people
that love their independence, guess what, when times get tough,

(15:03):
you want that conference behind you.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
I mean Texas has the SEC.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
They're a full member. They could have stayed in the
other conference. But the SEC is fighting for Vandy and Alabama.
They're fighting for Texas. They're fully committed. Notre Dame won't
fully commit to the ACC. Miami has for twenty one years.
So all you are Notre Dame is South Bend with benefits.
Nobody's there for you when you're not fully committed. Let

(15:33):
me give you a little bit of advice. Take the
l it's not working. Nobody buys it. You're not a
full member.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
You could be.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
They'd love to have you. Congrats you are in volleyball.
We all know one sport in college pays all the bills,
football and the ACC would love to have you. Academically athletically,
you won't commit. Here's how Vanderbilts, Clark Lee, the head coach,
Here's what this university and this coach said when they

(16:09):
like Notre Dame just missed being voted in.

Speaker 9 (16:15):
That's no one's fault except for our own. You know,
we had our opportunities and we didn't do enough, and
so that's the you know, we are not victims in
this process. Where our ownership is in is in coming
up short. I think it it's a reminder of how
critical every moment is, every snap, every possession, and there's

(16:36):
a lot to learn in this season because we want
to be back in these moments.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
It's this has always been so simple. Notre Dame.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
You played Texas, A and M in Miami to start
the season. You just had to win one of those games.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
But Notre dame schedule, because they're not a full member,
was awful. Go look at their schedule. They played the
worst team in the ACC and the SEC in the
Big Ten. They had five different opponents with eight plus losses.
It was a bad, bad schedule. He knows whose schedules
not bad Texas because Texas fully joined the SEC. You

(17:14):
know whose schedule wasn't weak Oklahoma or USC or Oregon
or UCLA because they all fully joined a conference. So
I'm not anti Notre Dame. I'm anti reaction, anti seventy
two hour wine fest. It's not working, you're not galvanizing

(17:38):
the country behind you. Take the L and move on.
I'll defend you on skipping the bowl games because I
think those things are doa and I think you're a
good football team that could have won a playoff game,
but this has been a bad look.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
A conference that has.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Loved that independence now is shocked that the ACC more
righteous defended. He the right team Miami who beat Notre
Dame and be the full fledged twenty one year member.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Jmack with the news.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
No, no, this is the herdline News.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
Big NFL game on Sunday, Colum Mike Rabel's Patriots, off
of bye, host the Buffalo Bills or Dogs. Yeah, rematch
from earlier this season, won by the Patriots. Obviously it's
a must have game for Buffalo. But you know, I
can't make a case for the Patriots here. I know
you kind of want to, but Cole, let's go to

(18:35):
Rabel here talking about clinching.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
The division with the potential win this weekend.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
A lot of you'se hand T shirt.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
We're just trying to play for the championship that we
have available this week and I think it's a great
testament to our players that put us in this position.

Speaker 10 (18:52):
To be able to do that.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
And again, that's not going to be easy.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
This is a very good football team.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
There's a reason that they've won this division five year
years in a row. A lot of respect for him,
you know, I never out of it, never doubt.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
The truth is Buffalo is down ten in the fourth
quarter at home to four and eight Cincinnati. If it
wasn't for Burrow throwing one of his worst picks ever,
that one, that that little floater from five feet, if
that doesn't happen since esque, Yeah it was, But I
mean it's so it's it's an interesting line where the
better team, the more consistent team at home, is an underdog,

(19:30):
the team that's already won at Buffalo. I got to
tell you, I am I felt when I watched Buffalo Sunday.
Once again, it was Josh Allen saving Sean McDermott's job.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
That's what it feels like to me. Well, some of
these divisional rematches. You know there's another one, Carolina Saints.
I know nobody cares about that, but remember Sinks beat
them earlier this year. Carolina needs this game, Buffalo needs this. Yeah.
It's tough, man, It's tough for me to go against
Josh Allen. This feels like a hero mode. Josh Allen,
gy what fifteen garries?

Speaker 3 (19:59):
I'm doing it?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
So Josh Allen and the Bills are three and zero
this year when they've scored when they've surrendered, like thirty
two points. Okay, the rest of the league is six
sixty one and two. Yeah, so I mean he is
literally supermanning like three to This could be the fourth
one because the one thing I'll say that Buffalo's weakness, Jason,

(20:22):
is they don't defend the run. And New England's O
lines banged up and they don't run the ball consistently,
So certain teams are going to really take advantage of Buffalo.
I don't think the Patriots right now, because of their injuries,
are built to punish Buffalo's run. Dee.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
Yeah, this is probably I'm sure this is going to
be considered a hot take. It's not the biggest deal.
If Buffalo loses this game, come Ron, it's not the
end of the world. If they're a wild card, you know,
all that means is they have to go to Pittsburgh
or Jacksonville, Okay, or Denver. I don't think they're afraid
of any of those teams. Yeah, is Buffalo much worse
than those three? No, they might be favored against Jacks,

(21:00):
said Villa Pittsburgh. They already crushed Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh, so
I know it's a huge game. I still think Buffalo
comes out of the AFC as long as Josh Allen's breathing.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
That's got to be my age. I agree he's the
best player.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
All right, let's move on to uh oh boy, this
one still hurts the Baltimore Ravens and the TD taken
away from Isaiah Likely.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I mean, everybody watching new this is a touchdown.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
And of course John Harball called the league office for
clarity on the rule, then went and talked to the media,
and uh, here's what Rby had to say.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
That's a complicated kind of a question there, Like, am
I comfortable?

Speaker 6 (21:36):
You know? No?

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Do I think there is more clarification?

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah, it's about as clear as mud right now.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
That's how I feel about it.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
The Cats rule clear as mud.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Mud is not clear, Yeah, I you know, sometimes you
see things I said yesterday, the Calvin Johnson touchdown against
the Bears may have been twenty years ago, and they
had changed the catch rule, and it confused all of
us and for the next decade we couldn't figure out
what a catch was in real time and in replay

(22:07):
it feels like catch two feet down, third going down,
ball knocked out I know at the forty yard line
this would be incomplete, right because you have to have
forward motion. But in the end zone you're not going anything.
It's about and the end zone's always been tricky. We
talked about this yesterday. Are running back If the one
could get hit fumbled out of the end zone, the

(22:29):
other team gets the ball. So this is the you know,
I just thought end zone. To me, it was always
ball security two feet down, no other rule applied.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
That's what I thought the rule was.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
And this could cost the Ravens the playoff spot, Colin.
They are short favorites at the Bengals. This week could
be over for Baltimore. I think that could be an
offseason of change. Maybe in Baltimore. Final story count has
just broke before the show. To Major League Baseball, where
the Dodgers have won back to back World Series crowns.
They had one weakness last year. You you hammered them

(23:02):
all year for it, and that was the bullpen. Well
they fixed that. They just stole nets closer Edwin Diaz
three year, sixty nine million dollar deal.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Colin.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
The Dodgers no salary cap in baseball. That was a
topic for you last week.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Well, this allows them to take Roki like the twenty
three year old Japanese sensation that they moved to the bullpen,
not because they wanted to. Remember, Dave Roberts came on
our show and they went to him and said, would
you mind our bullpen's a mess. We've blown thirty saves
or something for twenty six saves? Would you go to
the bullpen?

Speaker 3 (23:34):
And it worked?

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
This allows the Dodgers to now move Roki back to
the starting rotation, which makes their starting rotation with Yoshi
Glass now Snell.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
They're stacked.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
And by the way, they're not done shopping.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
There's a report that they're going after Tarik Scooball, the
cy Young Award winner from the Tigers.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Now.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
I don't know if we'll get so get them Dodgers, listen,
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Listen.

Speaker 6 (24:01):
If these are the rules, no salary cap, do whatever
you want, you know, just spend money. I just are
going to get everybody.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
People.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
I've said this, people always talk. Uh, you know what
a big great baseball city, New York is. The Dodgers
out draw the second best drawing team in the sport.
I believe by seven thousand fans a night and I'll
say this, it is a beautiful stadium and a brilliantly
run organization. But anybody in LA would tell you it's

(24:28):
not the easiest stadium to get in an out.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, that's rough.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
It's not great, But it's a gorgeous stadium. But and
I'll say this, people will say this feels like Katie
to the Warriors. Well, Katie to the Warriors got better
ratings than the seven year seven Championship OKC title last year.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
I like dynasties.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
I said this, I don't think last year qualified as
the best baseball team ever because their bullpen was so
bad during the regular season they had to go to
bond to it and patchwork it.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Daz, Hey, you.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
Saw the SATs on the screen. The Dodgers moved twenty
seven saves. D has moved three, so a significant upgrade
to the b over there it is. I mean, this
guy was lights out. How did the Mets let him walk?
I mean, what about your guys, Steve Cohen? I thought
he had all the money. You know, it's funny in
New York City.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
I spend a lot of time in Chicago now and
people ask me all the time, and what do you
make of Chicago Sports, And I say, now, I think
Tom Rickett, who owns the Cubs, that's an elite owner.
But I said, LA's got incredible owners. I mean, now
the Dodgers owners are the best. Now they own the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Oh yeah, here.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
The Chargers, who people used to say are frugal, are
no longer frugal. They're paying that coaching staff of fortune.
The Rams are brilliantly run now usc All their boosters
have stood up number one recruiting class. The Clippers have
the rich owner a bit of a circus. But when
people ask me about that, I always say what LA

(25:57):
has is incredibly well funded smart ownership groups.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
I don't think there's a city in the and there's
some good owners.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
Well, it's not a tough sell if you're a rich
guy to come out to Los Angeles and live you're
out here.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Most of the owners out here are tied to the
California economy, which is the fourth biggest in the world.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Yeah. So j Mack with the news.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
herd Line News.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Some interesting stuff going on. So we did that yesterday.
This broke.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
This news broke on the show that Cleveland Kevin Stefanski
has said Schadur is going to finish the season. And
it's really interesting. When Tim Tebow was a sensation, I
didn't buy it, but I got it. He was winning
and he had the Christianity connection, so he was beloved.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
And he was winning. He wasn't very good, but I
got it.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
The Chadeur Sanders conspiracy theorists are really bizarre. Chadur's not winning,
and his popularity also isn't tied to productivity. They think Cleveland,
desperate for winning, is out to get him. And I'm
not saying I get all popular things. I don't get
K pop like I don't get, but I understand it's popularity,

(27:18):
you know different It's pop music, which is often popular
and different musical genres. But the whole thing with Shador
Sanders is he's more like the trend six seven. I
don't understand it, and nobody's explained it to me. It's
just over the head. I think there's a LaMelo ball
thing here. Where is Chadu Sanders the first quarterback influencer?

(27:44):
That's what I think it is is that you see
this stuff all the time. You see these young business
people and their product's not very good or it's average,
but they play Instagram well and TikTok, and there's people
making millions of dollars and they're like influencers. I think
shanuor Sanders is our first quarterback influencer. I think LaMelo

(28:05):
Ball had that feel like LaMelo wasn't a winning player,
but he connected with the kids, and so I'm happy
for Shador Sanders. I honestly think he's He's kind of
a chill kid. He's a little silly for me. I
like my quarterbacks to be a bit more serious and adult.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
That's not his thing.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
But the whole conspiracy theory group, like Tebow was winning Christianity,
I got it. Chadeur is much better. I think it's
this simple, and I don't know why everybody can't see this.
Dylan Gabriel, because he came out of a college program
with better coaching Oregon, was more prepared initially than Shadur.

(28:48):
But Chadeu is more talented, and so Dylan was better
to start early. But Chadure's talent eventually would surpass low C.
Dylan Gabriel, It's not that and this happens all the time.
Anybody listening or watching that has kids. Sometimes boys grow

(29:09):
more slowly than girls. They mature more slowly. Dylan comes
out of a football factory in Oregon. He is well
coached and well schooled. He's won a lot of games,
great coaching, NFL players around him. Oregon's an NFL factory,
and he's ready sooner than Chadur is. Chadur comes from Colorado,

(29:31):
not a lot of NFL guys around him. Travis Hunter
was great. The coaching staff isn't as good as Oregon.
He's too loose, he's too immature, He's not quite ready.
He's getting speeding tickets.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
He not ready.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
But eventually Chadur has more big play potential, has probably
a little better arm, and eventually the talent wins.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
That's to me the stories.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
I mean, Dylan Gabriel was more ready, probably because he
had the most college ball starts ever. So Dylan was
just the kid in the family that's a little more
prepared but maybe less talented than his brother. Sometimes talent

(30:14):
takes a while, it's a bit more mature. Dylan was
just ready sooner, but he had a low ceiling, so
I don't think anybody's out to get him. Here was
Stefanski on allowing keeping should rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
It's a good call.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
As the guy.

Speaker 10 (30:34):
With our quarterbacks and our young players, you're always making
sure that you're making the right decisions for our guys.
And I think he's he has constantly and consistently gotten
better in each one of these games, and how he's
approached this game. He's been working very hard, so I
feel good about where his development is heading. He knows
there are always going to be plays that he can

(30:56):
be better and those type of things, but he's very
intentional about getting better each and every game he's out there.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
So ninety percent of you watching could not diagram a
football play, Okay, So Kevin Stefanski knows more about football
than you and me. I think it's really simple. Dylan
Gabriel came into pro football with his zillion starts. He
was just more ready initially to play. And the Colorado
program's a little looser, not quite NFL level like Oregon.

(31:25):
But eventually Shadur is going to get the NOD and
going to perform at a higher level. But Shadur has
not helped himself with the legendary draft room and bombing
interviews and the speeding tickets. A lot of that's just immaturity,
but it does appear every time he's at the podium.
Shaudur is a little more mature, a little more focused,
and he's hard to root against. Like, I don't think

(31:46):
mellow Ball is a guy I'd build around in the NBA,
but I it seems like a likable kid. He's fun.
Kids like him. So the tea bow thing I understood.
The Shaduur conspiracy stuff is six', seven like people have
to explain. IT i still don't get.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
It be sure to catch live editions Of The herd
weekdays and Noon easter not A.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
Empacific tonight ON fs, one it's a college hoops doubleheader
starting With villanova taking ON Yakxcel londeborg and second Rank,
michigan followed By Penn State, indiana and all tips off
at six Pm, eastern right here ON fs.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
One So Jordan love is now finally making a surge
towards THE mvp. Odds it's really interesting And i'm guilty of.
This we tend to crown young quarterbacks probably before they
need to be. CROWNED i love Bo nix as a.
Rookie he still had a lot of Growth jad And.

(32:44):
Daniels i'm, like that's the best rookie Quarterback i've ever.
Seen there's only one quarterback in THE. Nfl it feels
like is the opposite who's been great for several years
and nobody will crown. Him Jordan love of The PACKERS i.
HAVE i would call it The colin. Criteria there are
certain THINGS i, love and he checks all the. Boxes
his hat's on, Forward he's great at the. Podium he's.

(33:07):
BIG i, like traits short memory after bad. Interceptions he's
mobile but actually prefers the. Pocket he's aggressive.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
On the deep.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Ball he loves to throw it, deep spreads the ball
around the, teammates never gets in trouble at the. Podium
yet outside Of, wisconsin people are really whoa. WHOA i
text last night A gm in the, league AND i,
said if you Had Jalen hurts And Jordan love both
available on the, markets he, said come, on six four two,

(33:39):
twenty doesn't throw, picks doesn't need a great old. Line he's,
like every gym in the league would Take Jordan. Love
but you'll get pushback on. That and, so And i've
thought about this. Before what is it With Jordan, love
and my guess is if they win this weekend Against,
denver he gets a five game winning.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Streak he just has never.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Gone on that farv heater or That Aaron rodgers, heater
and even the Gwinnover. Chicago you're, like, well it was
the defense with an. Interception BUT i this is one
of these EVERYTHING i want in my. Quarterback, grateful, humble head, on, forward, adult,
aggressive but doesn't take unnecessary. Risks he is the one

(34:24):
quarterback in the league that's, great but nobody will crown.
Him he's just A he's, tremendous, tremendous AND i actually
think this Weekend Green bay And denver feels like to
sum a preview of The Super.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Bowl here's Here's Jordan love on That bears win this.
WEEKEND i, said let's go win.

Speaker 11 (34:46):
It you, KNOW i, mean this is this, is this
is all we got right. Here you, KNOW i think
there's eight minutes, left you, Know so it, says let's
go win. It BUT i think everybody knows what time it,
Is they know what what this drive means and what
we got to.

Speaker 8 (34:57):
Go out there and.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Do so that's one of those things is that you
know what's.

Speaker 11 (35:00):
Understood understood doesn't have to, explained and everybody has that
mindset that we got to go, answer.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
All, Right Herd hierarchy And Nick, wright who came on
the show, Yesterday first things, first on a stretcher after
a rough weekend for The Kansas City. Chiefs we'll show you.
That so people don't like, change you know.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
THAT i know that.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
When THE nil entered college football and college, sports people freaked.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Out it's the end of. Times it'll make the rich. Richer,
WELL i don't. Know seems to.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Me indiana was not a powerhouse in college football BEFORE,
nil And, vandy little old private School vandy wasn't nearly this.
Good THE nil has done two very positive. Things number
one is it's paying college players who before THE nil
often went from broke to rich as a pro. Athlete

(35:55):
so it's dipping their feet in financial. Waters gives them
some financial response's, ability gives them some financial. EDUCATION i like.
THAT i like college guys getting a little bit of.
Money in most, cases most guys are making less than
ten thousand in, college but it gives them a little
taste of. Money they can grow with, it you, know
not enough to get in trouble like sometimes pro athletics,

(36:17):
Does SO i like that about. It the second THING
i really like about it is that a lot of
these college football players who are even, good they're not
ready for pro. Football so there's a story today That
Fernando mendoza has locked up number one and That Ty
simpson may stay At. ALABAMA i Think Ty simpson needs
to stay At. ALABAMA i think there's an Argument Dante

(36:39):
more needs to stay At.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Oregon.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Now Fernando, mendoza that's A nfl. Quarterback now he's just
playing On. Saturdays six,' five, big, arm, timing, accuracy grateful,
tough kid, Great. Story fernando there's like five or six
guys in college football that you watch and they're essentially
pro players now they're just Playing. On saturday, the Kid

(37:02):
The notre dame, Running Back, jeremiah love that's a. Pro
player he's Playing. On Saturdays, rvel reese the Linebacker For,
Ohio State caleb downs the Safety For, Ohio State ruben
bain the rush End.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
For Miami That ruben bain's a pro.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Football player he's just Playing on saturdays and they're taking
care of Him. At miami there's a handful of guys.
Every year you see there's about half. A dozen, you're,
like yeah that's. A pro he's just still in college
and those guys now. Get PAID but i think what's
really interesting ABOUT the nil Is That dante More at
oregon could make four million. Next Year ty Simpson at

(37:40):
bama could make three and a. Half million so what
it's going to create this, is Interesting. J mac it's
going to grow the middle class. Of quarterbacks people ask
who's Gonna Want kyler murray several teams because only one
sure fire quarterback is coming out. Of college who's Gonna Like?

(38:00):
Daniel jones look the cold stew who's Gonna Like. Mac
jones so it's one Thing for Darnold And baker mayfield
to get a second or. THIRD chance i do believe
both are elite. QUARTERBACK talents i don't Look At daniel
Jones Or mac jones, like THAT but i think. IT'S
fascinating i LIKE the nil giving some really talented college

(38:22):
kids a little bit. Of money someone make a, million bucks.
Most don't it gives them a sense some responsibility before
they go from, you know it was ten, years ago college,
Guy broke college. Guy rich that is a lot as
you're moving to pro basketball. Or football i'll give. You
EXAMPLE the nil has helped college basketball Guys Like Zach
edy purdue stayed one more year. In, College Well zach

(38:45):
edy's become a very good pro that year. Of, maturity, remember,
boys men gross, frontal lobe whatever, it is they grow.
Up slower they mature more slowly. Than GIRLS so i
THINK the nil everybody thought it was going to be
the end of. The, world Well and Andy and indiana
are now really really good. Football programs they. WEREN'T before,

(39:05):
I Mean vandy field's like they're just trying a five.
Star quarterback that's not. Bandy football it's an. Academic POWERHOUSE
so i also think by having these college Kids Like
ty Simpson And dante more potentially stay, in college you'll
HAVE fewer nfl busts. At quarterback so it's a win
win for, the kid a win WIN, for nfl and

(39:27):
it's a win for the middle class. Of quarterbacks The,
mac Jones The, kyler Murray's The. Daniel jones you're gonna
see more, of those And Hopefully kyler murray gets a
better Situation than Arizona And daniel jones definitely got a
better Situation with shane steichn Than The New, york GIANTS
and I Think. Mac jones hopefully he gets a better

(39:48):
situation than that mess That was Belichick In.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
New england so there.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
You go we fear what we, don't know we fear
what could pull away, from us and nobody liked.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
The nil the kids.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
ARE winning i think the, quarterback situation the middle, class
situation AND the nfl. They'll win you'll HAVE fewer nfl bus,
At quarterback you'll get more starts, in college easier for
pro teams to evaluate the.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
COLLEGE quarterback i like it all the. Way around
