Speaker 1 (00:00):

Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Well, this would be good stuff.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
A decade in the NFL, four and two career playoff record,
he's become a great broadcaster for us at Fox Sports.
Mark Sanchez is now joining US live as he often
does on Wednesday or Thursday. He's got the Jags Niners.
We'll get to that in a second. I'm going to
start you covered Jackson Dark gets his first start. You
covered him in the preseason. So what are realistic expectations.

(00:51):
I don't even know if they're left tackle Andrew Thomas
will be healthy, that would worry me. What are realistic
expectations for Jackson?

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, that's the way to frame this entire game.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Making a start against the top ten passing defense and
Jesse Mentor, this defensive coordinator for the Chargers, He's got
his team dialed and so I would expect early completions,
some slants, some screens, some play actions to build his rhythm,
and don't forget his mobility is legit and often underrated.

(01:23):
He plays a lot faster than he might look on tape.
So I'd expect some of those design runs that he's
already come in and used these first couple of games
when they've subbed out Russell Wilson, to get him in
to get some experience. But this Giants offense has its
fair share of struggles, especially if you don't have your
left tackle, especially with all the turmoil in the receiver room,

(01:45):
I'd expect I'm not expecting him to win the game.
I'm just expecting him to get his feet wet and
most importantly, you know, stack some completions and protect the football.
Is really all I'd like to see from him this week.
Justin Herbert was good last year. He is different this year,
and that's having lost a really good left tackle.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
What's different? What are you seeing that's different? And maybe
game planning, scheming, something feels different.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
I think last year they really emphasize that run first
culture and we're gonna pound the rock. We're going to
be ground and pound, which is fine and they only allow.
You know, I think you throw the ball like twenty
one times a game through his first three games. Now
he's thrown at like thirty eight pass attempts a game,
and he's showing this offense really is built on his arm.

(02:34):
He's got you know, over seventy percent completion seven touchdowns,
so they're leaning on him, and he's playing the most
confident I've ever seen him play. He's decisive, and then
you get the splash plays that we used to get,
even when he first took the field as a rookie,
when they weren't even expecting him to play all those

(02:55):
years ago. You still see the plays they played rolling
to the left, you know arm, you know, kind of
halfway three quarter side arm around a player.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
To his guy in the end zone.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I mean, there's not many humans on the planet who
could even come close to executing that throw.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
So he's he's in rare form right now.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
And you know, the rushing attack has kind of taken
a back seat, and everything flows through the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
As you know, the opinion of a quarterback in this
league can change with a bad half. It's unfair, but
you know, the media is loud. It's the one sport
in America. Everybody watches. I always like Carson Wentz and
then the late great Jim irsay he had a bad
game in Jacksonville and said get him out of here,
and it's like time out. Ye had twenty seven touchdowns,

(03:45):
seven pigs. It was really really good, and in Philadelphia
he got hurt. He was going to be MVP. I
couldn't pull him out. I think right now today, I
couldn't pull him out if I was the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
What say you?

Speaker 5 (03:58):
Well, the biggest sat I saw And I had to
look at my phone for this because this came up
in a group chat.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
But the Minnesota Vikings are fifteen.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
And three when Kevin O'Connell has a ginger starting at quarterback.
So eighty three point three three percent, that's all I know.
But on a serious note, you know he provides stability. Well,
JJ McCarthy is developing and coming back from an injury.
You know, he just kept it steady. And Kevin O'Connell

(04:26):
clearly knows how to communicate with this quarterback. He gives you,
you know, your expectations, his expectations, finds a way to
merge the two.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
And I don't think you know.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Kevin made the comment in his press conference, said, Hey,
you know, as soon as JJ's healthy, it's not just
okay he's going, He's playing tomorrow. I think if Wentz
keeps winning, there's no reason to pull him. And it's
really about the timing of McCarthy's transition and reassimilation back
as the starter. But as long as this guy's playing well,

(04:59):
I got no issues with number eleven starting for the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I always like Sam Darnold. I think you did too,
But I do think I said this. I think Sam
needs structure. I think his DNA he's a little reckless,
so he does need structure. Like we're gonna throw it
twenty eight times, we're gonna lean on that run game.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
And that's not a knock outside of Josh Allen. The
whole world does.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
So.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
I like what Seattle has created for him.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
What do you see? Well, I think you're exactly right.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
I think he's right around the twenty nine to thirty
ish number of attempts per game, a lot more towards
the later half of last year when he was in
Minnesota starting for the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
But that's okay.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
They have a two headed rushing attack in Zach Charbona
and Kenneth Walker. Their offensive line is still starting to gel,
and especially those interior guys. Remember they've gone through some
turnover at the center position and then some young guards
really step it in. So the easiest thing to get
continuity for your offensive lineman is to let him fire

(06:04):
off the ball and establish the run game. Now Sam
knows how to get in and out of good runs,
and if there's no way to run the ball, he's
going to find a quick, easy throw. And oh, by
the way, he's got a heck of a slot receiver
in Jackson Smith and Jebo. This guy, Yeah, he's turned
into an absolute superstar. And you saw it in college.
You saw it flashes of it a little bit as

(06:26):
a rookie. Remember he started his rookie year he broke
his wrists and just wasn't quite sure, didn't quite get
his footing. And then last year and especially this year,
he's absolutely exploded.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
And then you see big Leonard Williams.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
I mean, just add him to the list of New
York Giants that suddenly leave the New York Giants and
then become superstars somewhere else. It's don't forget about my
man Danny Dimes. He's balling out too in Indy. We
got those guys in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon eastern nine am Pacific on Fox Sports Video
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing. We
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get to.

Speaker 7 (07:11):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Yeah, you blubber Lita and me.

Speaker 8 (07:26):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 7 (07:30):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich make
sure you check out Over Promised and also Uncensored, by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 7 (07:54):
There you go, over Promising, and remember you could see
it on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 9 (08:05):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
So we'll get to the Jags Niners game. I like
San Francisco in that one.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
You know, when quarterbacks come out mark Mark Sanchez For
our radio audience, I usually have a.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Comp Okay, who is he? I thought?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I thought Sam Donald came out, I said, he's not
Andrew Luck, but he's a little Andrew Luck. He's big,
he's tough, he can be a little reckless, but he's
a playmaker.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I never had one for Baker.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I thought he was a little cocky, he was.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
A little emotional.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I didn't really he was like, I don't know what
he is, and here he is all these years later
and I'm genuinely happy crushing it.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
What do you make of his development?

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Well, just add him to the List, Daniel Jones, Sam Donald, Carson,
Wentz all these guys who end up in other places,
and they still have plenty of tread left on the tires.
They just got to get to the right fit. And
I think we're realizing that the fit this scheme is
more important than the draft slot.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
And so he's playing so well.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
He's got that fire and intensity that he plays with.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
You know, maybe early on people.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Thought Alwa's just cocky, always just a young kid. He's immature.
That's truly his authentic self. He is an absolute psycho
on the field and he has to temper that a
little bit. We actually had him on our show on
Rearview NFL and Fox Presents Rearview, and we.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Talked to him yesterday.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
It comes out today and he's one of my favorite
guys that talked to. He's a guys guy. You want
him leading your offense. You want to go have a
beer with the guy. He's funny, he'll make you laugh,
he can get serious. He genuinely cares about his teammates.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
And I think you see all that through the interview.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
And one of my favorite questions that I got to
ask him, I just said, has anybody reminded you that
the last two coordinators you had in Tampa are now
head coaches. I mean, you got those guys a lot
of money. He did, Dave can Allis and Liam Cohen.
Those are two head coaches now in the NFL. I said,
do you get any Christmas gifts? Do you get an

(10:14):
all of it card? Are they send any wine? Cigars?

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Something? And he goes, you know, that's a good point.
I don't think they are.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
I said, well, don't forget about that, buddy, Yeah, don't
forget about that, because you're putting people on the map,
and when people around you are doing well, that obviously
says something about your own performance.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
So Baker's having a heck of the year.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
So I think ten years ago, if you didn't have
a good first run, there weren't as many great offensive
coaches around in the league and your career could be over.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
It was brutal.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
But we're seeing Gino and Sam and Baker, and I
gotta be honest, Mac Jones, we.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Need he'd be buried.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
And I'm like, oh, yeah, he did make a Pro Bowl.
You got tape. I'll be honest. I watch them at
New Orleans. I'm like, they're asking him to throw forty times.
They're not like handling it all off. Are you surprised
by him? I really was surprised by that approach in
New Orleans. But they just couldn't get the run game established.

(11:14):
That's a really tough stout New Orleans front. They've been
built on stopping the run for a long time now
and that doesn't look like it's changing. So that was
kind of the game plan to go win the game.
But I'm pretty sure he was the offensive rookie of
the year, I want to say in New England, but
either way, they asked him to do a lot. He

(11:35):
gets banged up in the last game against Arizona, and
for the viewers who didn't see this game, it was
just a rock fight back and forth.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
It's like six to six.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
The teams are trading field goals and we're in the booth, like,
oh man, that'd be nice if a football game decided
to break out here, and all of a sudden it did.
It just exploded in the last quarter and a half
of the game. But one of the big plays, the
big play of the game from scrimmage at thirty four
yard reception from Ricky Pearsall who's really emerged for this team.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Yea, for the forty nine ers. As a receiver.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
You gotta watch this. I mean it doesn't look like
much from the jump. Okay, ho home, nice throw whatever, Colin,
this is fourth and two. Okay, fourth and two. Look
at the quarterback in the center, normally the center brendle.
He's usually at the apex of the flying V. Right,

(12:29):
he's usually upfront, touching the ball first, getting everybody set up,
you know, pointing out the mic. So something's fishy here,
something's off. And watch what they do, Key Troll. Clark's
playing corner. He's rotating in and out, back and forth
throughout this game. And as soon as the center touches
the ball, it's a quick snap. It's like a sucker snap,

(12:51):
almost like a sucker punch. And as soon as his
fingertips touch it, he just throws it to mac Jones.
That's why he waited so long to let everybody gets
set up. Clark is out of position. Mac Jones realizes
this safety's got to fly over and help over the top.
I got one on one on the outside. Let me
just drop this thing in a red solo cup like
I'm at a Carnival. I mean, this is unbelievable by

(13:14):
Ricky Piersall. Also because there's two ways to go on
this and mac Jones has.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
To throw a perfect ball.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
He underthrows it a hair just slightly, and Ricky Piersall
does a little David Tyree off the helmet and catches
this football. I mean, asking him to do that on
a fourth and two. And I don't know if he noticed.
He's also wearing a knee brace because he got hurt
the drive before. He missed he almost missed a handoff

(13:41):
trying to stretch the ball that's supposed to go outside
to McCaffrey the drive before because his knees all messed up,
and then he pulls off this trick shot on fourth
and two. So yes, he went home with the plushy,
and he went home with a million tickets from the
fair because this one basically changed the course of the
game and ended up.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Helping him win.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
The job of a backup quarterback is to go in
and win half your starts. He had two starts, he
won them both, So I love where mac Jones is at.
Now it's hey, are we looking to trade this guy?
Do we go get Hendrickson and replace Bosa on our
team and send mac Jones to the Bengals.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
I'm just trying to figure out something there because that
defense needs a little help now that Bosa's gone.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
And by the way, that game is a classic example
of how basically they got a safety, Arizona got the ball,
picked up a first down. How did at midfield I
hope the game was over. I was like, Okay, it's over,
just go and boom.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
It's amazing this league.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
So many games were to sign up by a single
play in the last two and a half minutes.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
Also, think about this, find somebody in the stats department
to look this one up. But they won Arizona one
time at possession, they won rushing attempts plus completion, they
won the turnover battle, and they out rushed San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
It is so hard to lose a game when you check.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
All those boxes as a team, it's nearly impossible. I'd
like to say it's less than five percent chance, but
I want somebody in stats to figure that one out.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
That's way above my pay grade.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, Green Bay, same thing had it one suddenly they
did it. It takes all bad it's just the NFL.
Mark Sangez is always buddy, great stuff, appreciates Colin. All right, yeah,
I mean it's just crazy, you know, a Jmax. Speaking
of that, if you go look at the Arizona numbers.
One of the games this week, Seattle plays Arizona. Have
you seen the line?

Speaker 9 (15:43):
It didn't slip, but it hasn't gone through a key
number yet technically, But ye ight.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
But it's interesting. You'd think Seattle would be a big favorite.
But if you watch the Arizona San Francisco game, Arizona
had the game sealed, they had the game one after
the safety, they had to leave, They got the ball,
they got a first down.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
You're like, they need one more first down.

Speaker 9 (16:00):
I'll say this, though, Gannon has shown well last year
and this year against the Niners. I don't know that
he's solved Kyle Shanahan, but whatever he's doing is messing
with Shanahan's dominance offensively, Colin, somebody on social media, and
I usually don't listen to these, Gibbronis said, what about
you know, we talked TJ.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Moore earlier. You just talking Cardinals? What about DJ Moore
to the Cardinals show?

Speaker 9 (16:20):
Marvin Harrison, how to be a pro, how to be
grown up and catch the ball. Because Harrison's kind of
on the struggle bus. The other receivers aren't catch anything.
Does Arizona go all in with Gannon, who's kind of
sort of got to deliver this year? He could get
right out of town if they missed the playoffs. Well,
let's not call our audience jabbronis no social media guys,
not our audience. The TV audience's geniuses, a bunch of

(16:41):
Bill Gates out there. I'm talking about the social media guys.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Harrison has been the Seattle Arizona line. Everybody. You look
at it and you're like, how bet Seattle. If you
go look at the box score yards per play, Arizona
out played San Francisco. And that's why, by the way,
I like green Bavas week because Green Bay had that
puppy sealed on the road, played poorly and it just

(17:05):
unraveled quickly. Green Bay is going to go to Dallas
and they're not in a good mood because they had
that game wrapped and they embarrassed themselves in the end
as a huge favorite. All right, we come back JAMAC
with a Herd update. Herd line. Coming up next, It's
The Herd.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in noon eastern nin am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
All sorts of interesting stuff. This is a It is.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
A magnificent college football weekend into a great Sunday, into
a great Monday night football. The two games into the
baseball playoffs on Tuesday. So you might as well take
your significant other out the next couple of nights and
have a good time because by Saturday it's over. I
watched the Charlie Sheen Dock last night. The reason I

(18:02):
watched it I looked at the schedule and I thought,
you know, starting Thursday, it's over. My nights are all
taken for about five weeks. So I watched the Charlie
Sheen Dock that my friends is alife. Not the one
I'd like to lead, but that is a life. J
Mack with a news no turns.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
This is the Herd line news. Sure, Anne loves to
hear that.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
You want to know she watched it too. Oh no,
she she's the one that said, have you seen that?
And she said, and I said, and I looked at
the schedule, and I'm like, oh, there's too many night
football games Thursday night, Friday I have I'm going down
to Champagne Saturday, I'm booked. Sunday's great Monday night football,
Tuesday baseball playoffs.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
I'm like, okay, I got it. This is the night
n I sat and watched it. It's total debauchery. It's
just kind of not sure how he's still alive. I'll
look at that fair enough.

Speaker 9 (18:53):
All right, let's start this hour colin the Denver Broncos.
They lost to the Charger of twenty three twenty and
the Charges kind of dominated how gained by over one
hundred yards twenty nine first downs to just nine for Denver.
I have mentioned now twice during the show bo Nix
is on the struggle bus this year his sophomore campaign.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Sean Payton is not blaming his quarterback.

Speaker 10 (19:16):
It was too inconsistent. Two, there were too many minus plays.
It was a hard day to play quarterback when you're
at when your average third down to third and eleven.
So if we're not more efficient on first and second down,
the best in our league are going to struggle with
the numbers that we gave him on third down.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Yeah, and the schedule lightens up considerably. They face bad quarterbacks,
average defenses and dysfunctional organizations.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Look at this franchise.

Speaker 9 (19:49):
Wait a minute, time out, timeout, What do you mean
this schedule lightens up?

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Okay, the Colts, Cinny great defenses, Cincinnati with a backup
that just got shelled, Giants, Cowboys, and a Houston team
that cannot block. And the Denver Broncos have a top
two pass rush in the league.

Speaker 9 (20:08):
Wait a minute, man, I'm talking about Bonnicks versus defenses
because he's struggling Collins.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
I know you don't want to really bring it up,
like he was not good against the Titans, Recults not good.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
He's the lowest graded passer according to Pro Football Focus.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
He still has Jets that's.

Speaker 9 (20:22):
A good defense, Eagles, Texans defense is good. Now, maybe
the Cowboys he cooks and he should meet the Bengals.
McCollen or, I know he's your guy, and we like
bo Nicks as a human, but truthfully, what you've seen
I saw some stats. The Broncos pass blocking has been
the best in the league two three weeks, so clean
pocket and still playing like poop.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
They're not great in the backfield. Mims and Franklin are
still young. He's got one real dependable veteran target. He
started slowly last year. He is in year two. He's
played basically twenty NFL games, maybe twenty two, Okay, I
all say his next six weeks he.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Will be unbolievable. Bonut.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
They're at home against the Bungles this week. As Cincinnati's terrible.
I think Jake Browning's in trouble again. I mean Brian
Flores and now this Broncos defense that's gonna be tough.
Next up, Colin, let's go back to the Baltimore Ravens.
They have a big one against the Chiefs on Sunday.
The Ravens defense gave up forty one to Buffalo, thirty
eight to the Lions, and they have given up a

(21:30):
league high twelve touchdowns this season.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Quarterback Marlin Humphrey, who was burnt toast.

Speaker 9 (21:36):
Okay against the Lions on Monday, NT Football, knows the
defense has to show up and take pressure off their quarterback.
I know we've got Lamar Jackson, but we can't expect
to score twenty We can't expect them to score twenty
eight thirty points a game. It's putting unfair expectations on
our offense.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
So the issue they have is that we talked about
this Tuesday morning yesterday. They're not playing complimentary football. Lamar
is so dynamic and they score so quickly that their
defense is on the field constantly, and it's not good
to begin with. Last year, Detroit won fifteen games and

(22:13):
had a bad defense, but they dominated time of possession.
So the Ravens bizarrely are number one in the league
in told offense and near the bottom of the league
in time of possession. Because Lamar is so explosive they
score quickly. So my take is, what move do you
have to make to solve I mean, I don't worry

(22:35):
about Derek Henry fumbles. They're not good, but I don't
worry about the offense. I worry about them giving up
big chunk plays over the top. I think they need
to make a move of the deadline. I don't think
their personnel is good enough, and I think when you
pay a quarterback a lot of money. Kansas City bad
old line, no run game, Josh Allen, interior defensive line,

(22:56):
interior linebacking group not great.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
You can run on them evens.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Defense personnels mostly I mean they've got Kyle Hamilton Rokwan Smith.
Now they're missing a couple of pass rushers. It will
get better, but it I mean that game against Detroit
was not as competitive as the score. They they got
pushed around.

Speaker 9 (23:18):
So let me ask you, Ravens Chiefs, right, probably the
best game on Sunday. If the Chiefs fall to one
in three or if the Ravens fall to one and three,
who's in more trouble the loser of this game?

Speaker 3 (23:30):
And I think there's a pretty clear I think the
Chiefs are.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, because the Chargers should be the Giants before. No,
so you're now you are now three back yep. And
if you go look at the Chargers schedule, there's some
w's on that.

Speaker 9 (23:45):
And the Chargers already beat you head to head. So yeah,
the Chiefs need this one badly. So, I mean, you
could be concerned if you're the Ravens, but I don't
think anybody's worried about Cincinnati is Worthy playing who knows
that guy never plays man? But like again, to the
I don't think you worry about Pittsburgh running away. We
both have the Vikings this week. You're not worried about
Jake Browning. So even if you lose this, it's not

(24:07):
the end of the world for Baltimore. But mentally, Colin,
if they can't beat the Chiefs, this version of the Chiefs,
at that point, you gotta be like, geez, we're never
gonna get by these freaking guys.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I agreed. Final story, con Let's go to those Chargers,
who we love. I think there's actually.

Speaker 9 (24:23):
Some value in them winning the Super Bowl, but haven't
made the bet yet. They're three and oh beat all
three division rivals. The last team to start three and
oh and doing it against division opponents was the two
thousand and six Bears. They ended up going to Super
Bowl that year. Now, nobody's saying the Chargers are I
think if you really read the landscape, I think the

(24:45):
Chargers are going to have as good a shot as anybody.
They got to obviously get the offensive line healthy, but
the skill.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Position guys are there. Obviously, we like.

Speaker 9 (24:52):
The coach combo, you know, Penn and Teller or whatever
you want to call them, and the defense with Jesse
Minter is excellent. Chargers super Bowl too high Yperbolic. No,
I think Chargers bills. If I had to make a
bet today.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Chargers Bills AFC title game is I don't think the
Chargers need to make a move at the trade deadline.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
I don't.

Speaker 9 (25:16):
Well, you never can listen if you can find a
swing tackle as extra protection, right, I mean, we know.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
But that's not a big swing. Slater's back next year.
I'm talking about. Oh, I think what you and I
talked about earlier. I talked about this during the commercial
break with a staff DJ Moore to Buffalo, think about this.
I want every Buffalo bill fan to think about this,
is that Kansas City's offense will not stay this bad. Correct,

(25:44):
Baltimore's defense will not be this bad. Okay, And the Chargers,
by the way, with Harbor are going to keep winning games.
You may be able to because Drake mayst kid the
Jets are circling the drain. Miami's a mess. This could be,

(26:05):
in fairness, the last year for Buffalo getting a home
playoff game against Harbaugh, a warm weather SOFI team in
Buffalo in that windy stadium. The new Buffalo Stadium is
going to it will be less windy. So this is
an opportunity. You get the worst of the Chiefs offense
going forward, the worst of the Ravens defense and the

(26:27):
last year where you can bring a dome or a
West Coast team into a stadium that is a huge
weather advantage. This new stadium is going to block a
great deal of the win. So to me, if you're Buffalo,
this is the move you go get a player now.
I think the interior d line is an issue. But
DJ Moore is a really good player.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
It's weird.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
But I don't know, and I know this is going
to sound in SENDI here.

Speaker 9 (26:52):
I don't know that Buffalo is right now better than
the Chargers. The Chargers are more balanced, Colin, I'm sorry
they are. They have a real defense the Bills don't.
And the Buffalo offense is that much better.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
What does the Jim Harbaugh critics going to do? Oh
there are none? Come on, Oh give me a break.
Who's like Ohio State fans?

Speaker 9 (27:11):
Come on?

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yes, what are they going to do if you win
the Super Bowl? What are they going to do? Compare
them to Pete Carroll, Dude, I'm joking, I'll come on.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
I mean, I love when people who are great but
they have big personalities so they alienate people. I love
seeing great people who can be polarizing and there's a
group of people that don't like them, and they just
keep winning and you keep running out of excuses.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
So you love me. Basically, well, I didn't put you
in Harball's class. J Mack with the news, Well, that's the.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
News, and thanks for stopping by the herd Line News.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
It's the best college football weekend since Labor Day weekend,
which was also really good. We'll put the college football
schedule up.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Oregon.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I think I'll take Oregon against Penn State really close.
Penn State struggled in these big games. I think Ohio
State's the better team as the numbers coming down. Washington Jedfish,
He's on our show later this week. Washington's quarterback can
spin it. I like LSU to go to Ole Miss

(28:20):
and win. I think Joe Clatt and I both agree
Old Missus. You know Kiffin's popular. I think LSU's better.
I'll take Texas A and M at home. I don't
know what to do with Iowa hosting Indiana. I'll take Georgia.
Bama's been allows the road team, but I think I'll
be at the USC game at Illinois down the road

(28:40):
here a couple hours. I do think there was a discussion,
Josh Pate, a really good college football podcaster and voice,
said that he thinks, actually, Jayden Mayava is a better
fit with Lincoln than Caleb Williams because Caleb has so
much horsepower. Sometimes it felt like it was Caleb's team,
not Lincoln Riley's. And Mayava, who was reckless last year,

(29:04):
does not look like the same quarterback, much less frenetic,
much more comfortable, much better judgment. I didn't trust him
at all throwing the ball down the middle last year.
He's made beautiful throws. Now, I mean, it's it's Purdue,
it's Michigan State. But Joel Klatt earlier on the Jaden
Mayava Caleb Williams comps with Lincoln Riley. Caleb Williams was

(29:28):
the best quarterback talent wise that Lincoln.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Riley had at USC.

Speaker 11 (29:33):
And Jaden Mayava's offense could be better than Caleb williams offense.
Why Because it's more balanced. Mayava stays within the system
more so. What they threaten the defense with is actually
what I would consider to be deeper, incredibly talented. But
this offense is better and it's more balanced.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
It's got a big run game and Lincoln Riley, you know,
because he was so effective with quarter got this reputation
that he was just like a pass happy guy. His
Oklahoma teams were balanced. He loved running the ball. But
with Caleb Williams, I mean, Woody Marks was great. He's
now with the Houston Texans, but it felt like it
was very pass centric and Caleb centric. Just get Caleb space.

(30:16):
This is a real team. They have real size on
the defensive front. They run the ball. Jordan Sanders, they
got a kid, Calabasa's kid, King Miller, Miller King, I
forget Jackson, they got some running backs. So college football schedule,

(30:38):
I think Ohio State wins generally. If you're a number
one team in the country and you face an unranked team,
even if it's on the road, you win. So I'll
take Ohio State, USC lsu A, and m Oregon. Georgia
and I don't know, Indiana won by fifty.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
That's I was just gonna say, what's the thought process
in Georgia. Kirby Smart has really struggled against Alabama historically.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Well, for a long time, everybody did. I think Georgia
doesn't lose home games, and I think Bama's I think
I think it's a good game, but I'm gonna take
Georgia and Athens almost every time against everybody except professional teams.
First things first, around the corner on a Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
It's thirt
