Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
He's a Heisman Trophy winner, a Pro bowler, eight years
in the NFL, and now he's a Fox Sports NFL
and college football analysts love having him on the show.
A couple of weeks ago, let's bring him back RG three.
Robert Griffin is now joining US live. I want to
start with some college football, so I watch USC Notre Dame.
I thought, sometimes Robert games are predictable, it was going
to be cold weather. I think Notre Dame is built

(00:48):
for it. They're a very, very very good running team.
USC has not shown an ability to go on the
road get play physical football consistently. I watched Notre Dame
and my take was A looked at their schedule as
I was watching it, and I thought, they don't play
another ranked team. Robert, you know college or pro football,
especially college, they're built for bad weather. If they can

(01:10):
win without throwing the football, I think Notre Dame is
not only a playoff team. I think they're going to
have success. I don't know if there's a team built
for January in December more than Notre Dame or Am
I a little hyperbolic on the Irish here?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
No, you're not hyperbolic, and I know you follow the
USC churches program pretty closely. It has been a problem
for Lincoln Riley to get them to travel. But when
you look at Notre Dame and the way that they're
built with CJ. Carr, you got loved. They're running back position.
These guys. There's two things that travel in big time
college football late in the season. It's a running game
and it's your defense. They have both of those things.

(01:45):
So if Notre Dame wins out, I'm with you. They
make it to the college football Playoff and I think
they do some damage there.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah. I also, you know, what do we make of USC?
I had this discussion this morning with somebody I respect.
I said, I think Lincoln smart. I think he's a
good play designer. I think Jayden Mayava. I watched him
at UNLV. I never thought he would be this good.
But could we argue maybe he's not a great culture

(02:13):
creator this team. I'm we're four years in now. They
don't travel well. If you told a little rain, a
little physicality, I mean, Robert, they don't travel well. Maybe
this is just what they're gonna be.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
It comes down to whether you believe having a team
travel all the way from the West Coast into Middle
America was really the best decision for this USC program.
I think that Lincoln Riley is a great coach. I
think he's a great developer of quarterbacks. He's got Jade
Mayava play out of his mind. And ultimately it comes
down to who else in the building can be can

(02:50):
be that culture creator for them. Some of the best
dad coaches I've ever played for uh set the culture.
Gave the motivational speeches, but it was the strength coach,
it was the defensive coordinator. Those are the guys that
really set the tone day in and day out. And
you know, we had the issue with Lincoln Riley and
Alex Grinch there for a while, and then he fixed
that bringing in Danton Lynn. But at the end of

(03:13):
the day, they have not been able to figure out
that recipe. And I think it also goes back to
the transfer portal. It's really hard to build a roster
in college football today. Making no excuses for Lincoln Riley.
I think he's phenomenal. At the end of the day,
you do have to win football games.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
No, it felt like that Michigan game last year where
they were in it, but they can't stop the big
leaks in the run defense. They just they just can't
put them on the row. Little Chilli Weather. It's not
the same program. So I watched the Ohio State and
Wisconsin's not a good you know, calm because there really
is a program there. I mean, catching passes was a problem,

(03:48):
like open up. But I watch Ohio States defense and
Robert it's by college standards. There's not a lot of
windows open like you need an elite he eat quarterback
throwing into small windows, and Julian's saying of all these quarterbacks,
he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I don't know.

(04:10):
It feels this defense might carry him. I don't know.
I mean, from a collegiate standpoint, is Ohio State to
you head and shoulders above the country.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
I don't believe they are. I believe Indiana is the
best team in the country. And the reason for saying
that isn't just solely based off of how the two
teams played against Illinois. I saw an Ohio State team
that took advantage of the mistakes that Illinois made and.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
They capitalized on them.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
But I saw in Indiana team they went out there
and absolutely dominated them from the start of the game
to the finish, and they gave up two rushing yards
in that game. So it's not a transitive property conversation
or argument. It's just more of what I saw with
my own eyes, and I think Fernando Mendoza is playing
lights out. But to speak on Ohio State, I just
think Julian Saying is not getting the attention that he

(04:59):
deserves because I believe he's going super say when it
comes to playing winning football. I know he leads the
country in pass efficiency and completion percentage. In this past week,
he throws for three hundred and ninety three yards and
four touchdowns. I thought he needed that type of game
to people to really understand how well he is playing.
He's my front runner for the Heisman Trophy, and I
know he's got Jeremiah Smith and Tate out there at

(05:20):
wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
But at the end of the day, someone has to
steer the ship.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
And that's why I think Julian's saying is the Heisman
front runner right now.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
In Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
You talk about that defense, you're going to be having
to have to have a quarterback that has the utmost
confidence to throw into traffic and use ballplacement to beat them.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
So your point about small windows is spot on.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah, they're just it's NFL ish where you better you
better spin it because you're not getting a lot of
wobbly stuffed downfield and not working against the Buckeyes. Okay,
I want to talk about Drake May. How is Drake May?
I mean, I know Mike Rabels smart. I predicted they
would be a playoff team. How has he grown this

(06:01):
much in one offseason? He is accurate. We always knew
he was big and moved. How do you explain his
ascension this quickly?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
I think with my I think it's Mike Rabel and
you can talk about offensive coordinator, this playmaker that I
think it boils down to a culture builder, a culture
creator where you have an identity. Anywhere Mike Rabel's been,
He's always been able to create that identity. The Titans
are missing him right now because they don't have an identity.
So you bring him into the Patriots organization and you

(06:33):
have this quarterback who's got a big arm, you know,
he can make plays with his feet, and Verbel sits
him down and says, this is all I need you
to do. He didn't throw the football thirty five times,
he didn't throw the football forty times, and they put
the team on his back and say, hey, we're going
to live and die by.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Your arm through the football twenty three times.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
And it's because what Rabel does best is he gets
his defense to play at a high level and they
shorten the game. So what Drake May has done to
this point in the season puts him, in my opinion,
the top five for the race for the MVP. And
I don't think it's any world beating things. It's just
a general expectation of listen, we're gonna make this game
very simple for you. We need you to make five

(07:12):
plays a game. Everything other than that, be ready to
get to your checkdowns, be ready to play winning football.
And that's where I think Mike Vrabel has been the
key for Drake May to unlock his full potential.

Speaker 2 (07:22):

Speaker 1 (08:01):
So, you know, we were talking about the Jackson Dart
bone Knicks game, and I think Denver's got much better personnel.
So I was strangely more impressed with Jackson Dart than
I was Bone Next because I thought Jackson played really,
really well. And I joked, I said, maybe it's because
he's a good looking kid or something. But his confidence,

(08:23):
his confidence is unshakable, like he just doesn't care. And
there is something about it, you know, it's it's It
would be so easy if you were Jackson Dart to
go to Denver with that pass rush, high altitude and
to kind of be like, get a little overwhelmed with it.
But we were saying this morning, there's an it quality

(08:43):
to Jackson Dart, whatever it is. You had a great
rookie year. Are you surprised how good and how confident
he is because it's not a great offensive line. You know,
Denver's got better players, that's indisputable. Are you surprised by
Jackson Dart.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Colin, I'm not surprised by him because I got to
watch him in college duel it out with Jayden Daniels
and the outdueled them at Ole.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Miss when they played against LSU.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
I believe this was back in twenty twenty three, so
I got to watch that first hand and I saw
that it factor that you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
And I've mentioned this before. You see guys like.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Jackson Dart who have moxie, right, But normally when you
say a quarterback has moxie, you're saying he doesn't have
arm talent, he's not a great athlete, he can't make
just some crazy plays off schedule. Well, Jackson Dark can
do all of those things. And there's also different types
of runners. You know, you have your Tim Tebow style runners,
your Bear Bachmeier style runners, who I called the game

(09:39):
for BYU this past weekend. With where they're downhill, they're
trying to run guys over, and then you have guys
like Jackson Dart who have a little bit of wiggle
to him and are actually fast that can help alleviate
erase some of the mistakes of your offensive line. And
what I think the Giants are going through right now
is they don't have a culture of winning. That is

(10:00):
why they didn't close out this game against the Denver Broncos.
They're not used to winning. They're not used to people
saying good things about them. Last week, I thought they
were the only two to four team in the league
that was walking around like they were six and zero.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
And that's because of Jackson Dark and Camps Kataboo.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
So with Mahomes, they've reinvented their i should say rebuilt.
They've rebuilt their O line three times in six years.
I think they've rebuilt their receiving cord twice this year.
They are constantly course correcting because in this league, you know,
fans sometimes and I'm guilty of this too, the best
gms with the best players make mistakes. Tom Brady throw

(10:37):
a pick six in a Super Bowl, like, this is
a mistake league, and you just have to course correct,
lose the ego, identify it. While I'm watching them yesterday
and the Raiders aren't great. But when you watch the offense,
is it Mahomes? Is it the GMS picks? Is it
Andy Reive? Like what impresses you? What do you look

(10:59):
at and go wow? Because we all watch Mahomes But
I mean, good god. They put Hollywood Brown wasn't working,
Juju Smith was fine, He's great there. Everything works with
their offense.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yeah, And you're spot on because what they do so
well is they're very multiple, right. They get Rashie Rice back,
they use they utilize him. They got Xavier Worthy who's
got elite traits. They have Hollywood Brown who has an
elite trade. They get the most out of Tae Kwon Thornton.
Why he's a big, tall long ranger receiver who has
elite traits. You got Juju Smith Schuster, who when he's
not getting punched in the face after games, is moving

(11:35):
the chains on third downs.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
And of course you can't forget about Travis Kelce.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
So what I've been most impressed with is Mahomes's ability
to get it done with anybody. And I think that
is early reminiscent of what we saw from our colleague
and the greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady. He
had that constant in Rob Gronkowski, and then it was
Julian Edelman, Wes Welkers, all these different guys that they
can throw in there to make play happen, but it

(12:01):
all boils down to Patrick Mahomes being the one that's
just distributing the ball out. And I also think they
do a really good job of this colin because we
see this with young quarterbacks when they come in and
they have a great season, like Jayden Daniels did or
like c J.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Stroud. What the Chiefs do so well.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Is they bring in more talent regardless, and that talent
isn't just some this guy should be good. They have
an elite trait so they can use them in a
very specific way. And that's why I think some of
these young quarterbacks are struggling because they get talent around them,
but then they don't upgrade every single year because I, hey,
we're good at this spot, let's go over here. It's
like no, no, Always bring in a receiver, Always bring

(12:40):
in a running back, because you never know when that
player is going to be able to give you a
four to five game run that could help you win
a Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
So I'm there's a piece of video. We'll wrap it
up with there. So there's a piece of video in
camp with Caleb Williams. He's throwing to a net and
he misses badly, and he like he gets really upset.
And I've said he's got a ton of horsepower. I
think he doesn't. Told a lot of interceptions high school college,
probably never has. But he may just never be sixty

(13:11):
seven percent completion guy. He may never be that. You
tell me all quarterbacks have maybe outside of Mahomes, they
all have like limitations, strengths, liabilities. Can Caleb ever be
sixty eight percent completion guy? Or is that just that's
just not He's horsepower guy, he's big play guy. He's

(13:33):
not consistent, accurate. I mean, what do you make of it?

Speaker 3 (13:37):
I think for Caleb Williams, I've heard coaches tell me
this about like Brett Fahr, have you got to live
with the bad because the good is so good? And
with with Caleb Williams, there's going to be some plays
where you're like, hey man, what was that?

Speaker 5 (13:51):
But you have to let him grow into that.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
If he's going to become a sixty eight percent completion
seventy percent completion guy, you have to allow him to
build that confidence do what he does best. The best
thing that I think that Ben Johnson has done thus
far this year is their running game.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
That is what allowed.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Jarrett Golf to be this play action pass quarterback who
when you asked him to make seven throws on third
down a game, he can make them at the highest
level possible because you were giving him open routes. They
were using am around Saint Brown to get open in
the middle of the field and move him around, kind
of like they're doing with DJ Moore. But the Bears
didn't have that run game. And for the past two weeks,

(14:27):
that run game has been alive and well to the
point where Caleb didn't have to play even really good
for the Bears to win.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
And that's what you want from a for a young quarterback.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Give him that stability that you guys can lean on
that running game and he will grow into that. But
you know, this colin the world is not very patient
right now. It's probably the most impatient it's ever been.
But if you want to see Caleb continue to grow,
you can't expect him to be Joe Montana in year two.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
I want to wrap with something on Dak. I said
very early in Dak's career, you could see at the podium,
you could hear it, you could see it. Jerry Jones
is a little kind of needy and a lot of
vanity and a lot of maintenance. Dak always said the
right thing at the podium. Dak was always high iq EQ.
In fact, I like this intangibles more than his tangibles.

(15:20):
I just like the guy. And then I'm watching this
year and I think it's something. So George Pickens came in,
he was you know, he's a little immature, wildly talented,
and yet he goes to Dak no drama. I mean,
he's just no drama. And I think I think Dak

(15:41):
gets credit for this. I don't think that's the case everywhere.
I mean in Pittsburgh, Mike Tomlin, who is a pretty
he's a willing supporter of players who can be somewhat dramatic.
Right He's had a few and Mike's like, I'm moving
on and then he goes to Dallas and not a
peep he is gone from highlight guy the high production guy.

(16:04):
I think Dak gets credit here. I think, I mean
your take on that when the quarterback is mature, does
it change the locker room one hundred percent?

Speaker 3 (16:15):
And you know everyone wants to talk about the Cowboys
and Dak Prescott. I think he's playing like an MVP
as well. I know they're three and three and that's
hard to say, but I think the best thing that
has ever happened to George Pickens was Ceedee Lamb going down.
Why because he was able to show them I can
be a number one wide receiver. We knew that in Pittsburgh,
but as you said, there was some issues there. So

(16:37):
I also have to give credit to George Pickens for
coming into a new team and a new situation and
understanding that, hey, this thing can go one of two ways.
I can continue to do some of the things that
I did in Pittsburgh that really got me out of there.
Or I can buy into what's going on here despite
how our record is looking right now, and I can
be a great teammate to the rest of these guys.

(16:57):
Dak does always answer the question the right way. He
also shows honesty in some of his answers. He didn't
know that Michael Parsons was going to get traded, But
what's he supposed to do about that? He has to
go out there and continue to play. So you got
to tip your cat to Dak Prescott.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
For what he's been able to do.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
I think you're spot on there, Colin, But ceedee Lamb
going down allowed George Pickens to establish himself within the
offense and get that confidence and camaraderie with Dak.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
Now he's got two number one wide receivers.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yeah, you just thought what they did to my Washington commanders.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
That was that was a butt kicking. Cross our fingers.
On Jaden's health, Robertson, I love having you on college
and pro stuff. You're dialed in, my man. Thank you
so much.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Appreciate you coming anytime.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
God bless does his homework, knows his college football. I've
just come to terms with usc IS. You know, you
put us in the octagon with some clouds and rain.
We're not coming out of it with a w I've
just you know, it is what it is. At home,
we can beat anybody except Ohio. State, but on the road,

(18:00):
it just doesn't feel like it's I don't know. I
watched that game and I'm like, this is exactly what
I thought it would be. In fact, it was worse.
Three hundred yards rushing, I figured it was worse. And
you know, there is something to be said about toughness,
travels and us. He is smart. I think Lincoln's really
really bright. I think his play design is excellent. There's

(18:23):
no question they're fun to watch, but I feel like
I'm seeing the same movie over and over. J Max
got his Herd Line News after the break live in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays
and noone Easter not a em Pacific.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Tomorrow. We'll have the herd Hierarchy. Got to watch the
Lions Tampa tonight. Have to watch the Seahawks and Houston tonight.
Two good actual Monday night games. Rather have one. You
can talk me in a none, but I'll take two.
Ulus We have a game seven tonight. Game one of
the World Series would be Friday, Amazon game Thursday tomorrow

(19:11):
is gonna be a good show. Jmack with the News.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
On the news.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
This is the Herd Line.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
News and don't forget Tuesday night the NBA starts. I mean,
it is just a great week. You know, plan to
sit around on your sofa and watch sports all week.
Let's start with the Rams, Colin. They're gonna be in
the hurd hierarchy tomorrow. Absolute dismantling of Jacksonville early on
Sunday morning out here in La thirty five to seven.
I got an amazing sad. I'll give you in a moment.

(19:40):
But the story here was Matt Stafford five TV. He
passes three to Devonte Adams. Here's Davante talking about Stafford's
mental approach to taking apart Jacksonville.

Speaker 8 (19:50):
Absolutely, no, that's that's the type of I mean, he's
he's a killer, that's what.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
That's what killers do.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
They go out and kill.

Speaker 8 (19:55):
So it's never easy when you're operating in elements like that,
but you don't. We started off a little slowly and
I and then you know, but the rest of office
was Rowland, so we were able to kind of keep
the ball moving and then found our opportunities in there
and they took advantage.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
That was It's funny. The Jags had more yards and
more yards of play and got beat thirty five seven. Wow,
And they had a touchdown called back, they had more penalties,
they got sacked a bunch. That was a great football
operation against a wobbly football operation. That's what it was.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
You feel bad for the London fans last week they
had to endure Jets Broncos, and then this week thirty
five seven Colin, how's this stat for the Rams? So
a lot of people got this game wrong, including myself.
The Rams used three tight ends on twenty four plays. Okay,
completely different than they've ever done In the last four years, they've.

Speaker 7 (20:46):
Used three tight ends six times total.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Sean McVay basically said, we're total. We're putting in a
whole new game plan. Jacksonville was discombobulated, not ready for it.
This was a game where hey man, it's McVeigh against
a rookie head coach, and I missed that McVeigh is
a damn genie.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Great great stuff, considering they flew in the day before.
It was a remarkably efficient, crisp, clean performance. I mean,
they just didn't waste any time. It looked like they'd
been there for a week. I mean, to go overseas.
Matt Hasselbeck said this early, you have no idea what
you're getting. You really, that's right. I mostly stay away
from international games like you just don't know what you're getting.

(21:22):
That was impressive.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah, So basically mcvay's like, oh, we don't have Buka,
let's just go three tight ends and they were not
ready for it. Up and down the field with these
all right, Next up, Colin. Not a great story here,
and that's Jaden Daniels. Wow man, listen. He was already
hurt miss games earlier this season. We're still waiting on
an MRI result. Today it's a hamstring. Now without him

(21:44):
there borderline unwatchable and the Chiefs get an automatic win.
We may as well not play that game next week.
Dan Quinn says he's nervous. The expectation is he'll miss
the game against the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (21:56):
Now it is early.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Maybe he gets you know, mister Miyagi does a number
on the hammy and he's able to play.

Speaker 7 (22:02):
But without it.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Marcus Mariota on his first possession, brutal through a sixty
eight yard pick six.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
It was the worst throw of the day, No to
I had a couple, it was it was it was
a brutal pick. But you know what Dallas, to their credit,
played with a ton of juice. Dallas was all dialed
in first series. They were ready to roll.

Speaker 7 (22:21):
We could agree.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Now Dallas is right now a better football team than Washington.

Speaker 7 (22:25):
Yeah, it's not even close.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Now.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Washington was down their top three receivers, which is a
lot to overcome. But you know, Washington has not had
that magic that they had last year. Remember it was
like fourth down, Jayden Daniels, go make some magic happen,
and it would happen all the time. They're not even
close to that, and that defense is aging. Did you
see how badly Lattimore got cooked? But I mean he
was getting roasted by Pickens. He was frustrated.

Speaker 7 (22:50):
I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Say they're missing the playoffs, Colin. Have you looked at
Washington's upcoming schedule? Okay, they're losing to the Chiefs this week.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Oh Daniels, No, No, they're they're They're cooked and probably
gonna be three and seven. They're in big trouble. I
don't know how you Readbound for you. Two things are
always true in the NFL. I'm good at predicting one,
not good at the other. One of them is somebody's
gonna double their win total, I said, New England. I've
been doing that for years. But the other thing is

(23:18):
one of the really great teams from the previous year
goes into the tank. We both thought it would be Detroit, Yeah,
and it's Washington.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
It could still be Detroit, but for sure Washington. Now
that opens up a playoff spot in the AFC. I'm
just I don't want to spitball here, but are the Cowboys?
Could they sneak in a wild card?

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Well, it's an offensive league. Could Dallas score their way
to a wild card? Certainly? Now what makes it tougher
is the Giants are a real team. So you know
Dallas dak has feasted on Washington and the Giants for
a decade. Giants matchup pretty well with Dallas because Dallas
is oh lines and a rebuild in the Giants front's

(23:57):
really good.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Well, nicky Dallas line, its gonna get healthier. And the
kid Overshown who was awesome last year, remember him, the defender,
He's now his window to return I think opens up.

Speaker 7 (24:07):
He's all excited.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Dallas is a is gonna They're not gonna be an
easy out with Dax slinging it and those two receivers
in the postseason.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
I I don't know.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
I'm shocked by that.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
All right, let's wrap up Colin Baseball. Obviously Game seven tonight.
Blue Jays with the win last night, and they are
hosting Game seven tonight on Fox. Big night for Seattle
sports fans better have two TVs. Juice up the remotes
Mariners in Toronto and Seahawks hosting the Texans.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Colin, do you have a you want to bet on
this at all?

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Or what are we doing here? I don't have great vibes.
I listened, Seattle won the first two. It'll come down
to pitching. Seattle's stilling a guy they have great trust in.
I think these are pretty even teams. I think Seattle
is the cooler story. But Dodger Mariners, I think, well,

(25:02):
you'd have the ultimate underdog. I mean, did anybody pick.
I mean, people have liked certain Mariner players for a
few years. But I think it would be a really
it would be kind of Bowls against the Jazz, kind
of a final, like you're you're like, oh, the dominant
dynasty against that pesky team. I think I think Mariners

(25:23):
Dodgers is a really fun world series.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Yeah, Vlad Guerrero, who is torching Seattle pitching. He talked
about what the World Series would birth would mean to
the squad for.

Speaker 9 (25:35):
The second time in franchise history.

Speaker 7 (25:37):
The Blue Jays are.

Speaker 9 (25:38):
Going to play Game seven. Are you ready?

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Hey? Hey, you want me?

Speaker 5 (26:01):
He's done ready? I bone ready, I bone ready?

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
I mean it's You've got some Stu, Kyle Rawley, Vlad Guerrero.
There's there's some marquee players in this series. Look at them.
Look at him hitting four forty against Mariner in the
post and that's a postseason numbers.

Speaker 7 (26:18):
Dad obviously a legend.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
ALCS Game seven tonight, seven pm Eastern on Fox and
FS one.

Speaker 7 (26:25):
I'll root for whoever you're rooting for. Listen, I'm rooting
for the Americas.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Strangely, road teams do well. The road team, listen to this,
has gone seven and one in the last eight game sevens.
And that tells you how how valuable pitching is. First
of all, there's a lot of pressure. Baseball is a
sport where you get long time to sit and think.

(26:49):
Like golf, you have slumps in baseball and golf, and
so the home team comes in with a ton of pressure.
It'll come down to what starting pitcher can give me
six and two thirds eight stuff, and that's the winner
of tonight.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
J Mack with the news, Well that's the news, and
thanks for stopping by the herd Line News.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
I thought, you know, every weekend we have a game
of the day. We did not think the Giants Denver
for the first three hours of it was going to
be the game of the day. But I would say
in a losing cause, I was kind of really blown
away by Jackson Dart, his poise, his command, his confidence.

(27:30):
He has the less impressive roster than Denver. Okay, the
Giants are still they got holes. Denver's roster doesn't have
any holes. O line's good, D line's good, secondary star corner.
Denver's roster's got no holes. Giants still have a few,
and you cross your fingers on their left tackle being
healthy week to week. But here was Matt Hasselbeck on

(27:52):
what he sees with a rookie first rounder Jackson.

Speaker 10 (27:55):
Dart, just because he threw that interception that you know,
ultimately was one of the plays that led to their loss. Like,
in the long run, this is going to be great
for his career. It's gonna be great for it like
every quarterback you throw an interception, you never ever forget it.
That's the thing I loved about Jackson Like it was
almost like he was brought to tears over it even
day ball, Like this team is going to rally around

(28:16):
this quarterback.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
I mean they already have.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, there's a if you think about that quarterback draft class.
Pennix can play. He wasn't great last time at Penix
can play. Bo Nix is a franchise quarterback. Pennix is
Drake may Is Jayden Daniels bad year is Caleb's certainly
not a turnover machine. I mean Peyton. I mean Caleb's
not overwhelmed by the moment. He's on a four game

(28:41):
winning streak. He's just he's got to refine it. But
whether or not JJ McCarthy can play, we got four hits,
four franchise quarterbacks. So when I look at Jackson dart
I think cam Ward will be fine eventually. He has
no help here. I think the winner yesterday is also
despite the loss, is Brian Babel. You can't fire Brian Dable.

(29:02):
You can't. I mean Jackson Dart he is linked last
thing you want to do with Jackson Dart roll the diet.
Brian Dabele got Daniel Jones into the playoffs, and if
we put the Giant schedule up, they're going to be
in the discussion at least two Thanksgiving. You start looking
at the Giant schedule right now. So let's look at it.

(29:26):
Okay at Philly's a rough one. Niners at home, Bears,
Green Bay at Detroit's a rough one.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
I mean, Colin, this schedule is devastating. Come on, Packers, Lions, Patriots.
Those are three like the top ten teams.

Speaker 7 (29:41):
In the league right there.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
I see, I see a seven win team.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Oh no way, give me the under. Their win total
was five and a half to start the season.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
I mean they end the year off a bye with
Washington Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
Teams fighting for playoff spots, not the Raiders. That's a win.
But I'll be shocked if they win seven games. O,
we're the next five wins. They're not beating the Eagles.
They're not beating then you.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Don't think they can at home beat and allows you
weather the Niners. You know, Mac Jones, if it's overcast,
you got a shot or that's what it's going to be.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
Rock perty, my friend, and they're going to be at
full strength by then.

Speaker 7 (30:18):
So yeah, I'll give you the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
I'll give you They're not going to Chicago to beat
your bears, are.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
They listen to show? Even Sean Payton was impressed with
Jackson Dart after the game.

Speaker 11 (30:30):
It was a great win, good team effort to fight back.
Tip your hats to New York. Those guys have found
a new juice about them, and you could see that
on tape. You know, they found a little spark with
that quarterback. I was talking to John Mayer not too

(30:51):
long ago, and I said, we were hoping that that
change would have happened long long after our game.

Speaker 7 (30:59):
Was that pro dark or anti Russell Wilson?

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Oh my god, no, I think. I think if you're
a Giants fan, I think you found your guy. It's exciting.
It's why he is exciting. He's got this by the way,
he's got he's air. He's a great looking kid. People
are already making his mom a social media star. He's
a great looking kid. He played in a great college conference.
He played with Lane Kiffin for three years, so you

(31:22):
know he's dealt. Lane coach in the NFL. So we
got great college coaching. Brian Dables. An above average offensive
guy like Neighbors isn't even playing right now if he
needs another free agent class because they're not paying him anything.
Jackson Dart needs another four draft picks to help that
O line. Maybe get another you know, get some help

(31:42):
at tight end who their tight ends are solid.

Speaker 7 (31:46):
Well, here's not. So you're telling me you're keeping the
gm N Dable.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
I don't. I don't want to blow it up a
couple of performance.

Speaker 7 (31:55):
You want to be the Jets dark?

Speaker 1 (31:56):
You want to be the Jets. You want to be Carolina.

Speaker 7 (31:58):
You want to be just might get the number and
pick buddy. Maybe you want to be that.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
It doesn't matter who they picked, they'll screw it up.

Speaker 7 (32:03):
Oh damn you. I'd probably right that.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
I mean, the last thing you want is chaos. Yeah,
I don't know. I look at the Giants. I don't
think they're that far away. They need another draft class.
They got to hit on three picks. That's it.
