So one Quarterback going, One quarterback coming for Week three

(01:10):
of the NFL and oh, by the way, yes, I
really if somehow. I mean, I mean, there's been a
lot of bad football teams the last few years.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, I mean we still have two hundred and what
forty glorious games.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Tons tons ago, tons ago. But I don't know, man,
And I know I'm kind of being little glib and
you know, shooting from it with this one. But I
don't know if the Dolphins beating the Bills tomorrow night
would be the biggest upset of the twenty twenties.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I mean, the.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Spreads is over twelve. It might get to thirteen by tomorrow.
I know there's been bigger spreads, but just the the overall, Yeah,
this is not just a bad team playing a good team.
This is a bad team start of the season that
feels like it's quit, that has all kinds of questions
playing against a team that put out a c game

(02:00):
against the Jets on Sunday and still wound up winning
thirty to ten. It's almost like they said, hey, you know,
we're only gonna run like a handful of plays this week.
We want to put anything out there on film for
any one, it should be enough to beat the Jets.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
It's the Jets.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I mean, really, I don't know that it wouldn't be
the biggest upset of the twenty twenties in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, I mean where we're sitting right now, right, the
great expectations for what the Bills are and to your point,
that really wasn't much of a show me kind of game.
It's all right, just the battle of attrition. I'm sorry
to see Justin Fields injured, one of many quarterbacks that
we'll be seeing the understudy this week. It's another Tarad

(02:39):
Taylor operation as we go forward. But yeah, for the Dolphins,
so many things swirling around and conjecture about McDaniel and
how quickly he gets ousted, to his future and everything else,
that it does have a lot more weight for a
Week three game than we normally see at this point. Yeah,
it's a much different thing than just it's clearly the

(03:01):
point spread. No, no, no, they're burning it down. I really
of the twenty twenties.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I'm going back and I'm sure there's been other other
big two touchdown games. But just to take everything into account, right,
not just the Bills are really good. They're playing at home,
this is their year. If they're going to get there,
it's a super Bowl or bust. Here but all the
drama that Miami has gone through, right, we talked about it.
You know, a few minutes ago, Miami they're they're almost

(03:27):
unbeatable one o'clock at home in September because of the weather,
and they lost to the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Let's see twenty twenty, the Jets twenty three to twenty
win over the Rams seventeen and a half point dogs.
That was a big one. Took the Patriots out of
the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
And that was the game that got Jared Goff traded
from the Rams because that was where that was clearly
the game where Sean McVay looked so mad at Jared
Goff after the game, like, how do you that I
think that was the final strung rights?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
We have to go get Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
That was.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Though, that's the Rams, but the Jets.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Were playing at home in that game, even though they
were the underdog. But it's just it was It's one
thing to say here's bad team against good team, but
here's bad team with all of this stuff happening. Yeah,
early on, I tried to give you a positive of
the Jets actually winning a game where they created some chaos,
and you're like, yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
This one is so and I agree with you. One
other one that I'd be remiss if we didn't highlight
it twenty twenty one Jaguars and Bills because it's the Bills.
This part of this game ninety six was the final
Bills were sixteen that team?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the paint drying game here, you got
a but all with all of this drama, with all
this bad stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
It just feel like it's such a bad vibe around
the Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Man.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, but that we're talking about, it's one thing to say, Okay,
where where do you see things going badly to where
a guy becomes the odds on favorite to get fired? Yeah?
I mean really, because I mean look at what happened
in college football. Yeah, you saw the writing on the
wall for Deshaun Foster. He had a couple other coaches.
But in Week three, did you say, all right, that's it,

(05:08):
We're just done with this. We'll pay out whatever we
need to pay, We're done. In the NFL, we we
normally have this swirling about, but you usually get to
mid season before it starts to really ramp up. No,
we're in week three, Thursday Night ship Ball and it's
already what Defcon won.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Oh yeah, yeah, this but look, but this is how
easy it's for the Bills, because like, say the Bills
win tomorrow, like forty four to ten. Is Mike McDaniel
really the head coach when they come back from the
next ten days? Is he really still the head coach
there in Miami? I mean I get that that writers
and everybody wants to say the same thing.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Now, Oh, I might mc daniels. I mean maybe at.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Some point, Yeah, you get crushed on Thursday night football
in front of the entire world. Yeah, things amp up
and go a little bit faster, right if they if again,
if they got killed at one o'clock on Sunday and
the Bills go into my Bill, you know, Miami goes
into Buffalo and Buffalo wins forty four to ten. Boy,
things are really bad in Miami. It's circling for Mike McDaniel.

(06:05):
But Monday and Thursday, right or wrong, it's different. The
impact is different.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
You know how bad this really gets though, Happy fel
bad doesn't get if he gets ousted and they get
boat raced the next time we see them Monday Night Football,
Week four against your New York Football Jets.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, right now, the NFL is say, hey, that flexible
scheduling early in the season, can.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
We uh can we can we flip that around a little.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Bit, because we don't want either of these teams, who
the hell in the scheduling booth put the Dolphins on
in primetime back to back weeks to wind up being
to Rod Taylor against the team with a new head coach,
and to it might not even be.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Pit just where they go and they pick some random
player to highlight, you know what, because he's catching ten
balls out of the backfield every week, let's highlight dch hand.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
No, no, no, that's where they say, hey, we're gonna
celebrate the undefeated season by the Miami Dolphins and the
New York Jets nineteen sixty nine Super Bowl win. They
invite all the dignitaries and namath Is in the booth
and all the players from the Dolphins, the original here's
Larry Zonka in the booth, and everybody's, yeah, we're gonna
we gotta make it some sort of thing. Man, I

(07:13):
tell you, if the NFL could made flexible schedule a
hell out of at those teams out of Monday night, yeah,
I mean, you're you're gonna it's gonna be two zero
to three teams playing against each other next Monday night,
two teams with the seasons over. It's over, man. And
look this gets us to the next part, right, because
the Bills beat the Jets and we get big news
today the first quarterback change first, you know, one of

(07:36):
the first quarterback changes of the season for injury. Yes,
Carson Wentz is taking over in my in Minnesota. And
now you have jayd and Daniel still up in the
aristatus for Sunday. But now we get word Justin Fields
is out for week two to Rod Taylor will play.
Uh the concussion suffered at the end of the Jets
lost to the Bills on Sunday. Uh, it's gonna keep

(07:57):
him out. And so many I got so many texts
of my friends, they going, oh, man, dude, you're gonna
be oh and three, the Justin Field is out, And
I want to say the same thing to them. You
guys think that that I haven't seen this before. You
guys think that suddenly I had any sort of expectations

(08:18):
after the loss of the Bills on Sunday. The Jets
season is over. Man, We're zero and two we're playing
Tampa Bay at home, Tampa Bay's home opener, right, Baker
Mayfield's fine, he's gonna play, and that we're gonna get destroyed.
You man, what, the season's over. It's over, I felt
because I'm going over. I'm going Philip Seymour Hoffman from

(08:43):
from Almost Famous.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
It's over, man, they won, we lost. Man, it is over.
The season's over.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
It's over. I'm thinking about Garrett nus Meyer right now.
Maybe he's the guy because guess.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
What over Jenny who's in potation for the number one
pick in the draft. The Jets.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
They're in pole position right now, number one pick in
the draft. This season is over. No, you don't come
back from H to two to make the playoffs. You
certainly don't come back from.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
OH to three.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
And I knew it after Week one because sometimes sometimes
when you lose in Week one, it's a loss and
you think about, Okay, this will spur you on to
next week. And that was clearly what everybody thought after
the second best game of Week one, because obviously we
had the Big Bills Ravens game on Sunday, but the
best daytime game, the second best game we've seen so

(09:29):
far this year has been Jets Steeler And I knew
it then because I knew this is such a bad
loss for the Jets to come back from all the
mistakes they made, Rogers coming in and winning, losing on
a sixty yard field goal. Seeing that, Hey, things had
to go perfect for the Jets to have that offensive game, right.
That's why I was never really that crazy on oh,

(09:51):
Justin Field's gonna be so great, look at what he is. No,
everything went right for the Jets in that game offensively,
and that's where they able to put up points. But
when things don't go right, they're going to get destroyed.
What happened last week, Big penalty, Bill's gonna touchdown Justin
Field's fumbles, it's ten to nothing, the game is over.
The Jets were flat for Week two, right because, and
I guess it takes a while to build a culture,

(10:12):
which Aaron Glenn is learning. And I love Aaron Glenn,
but I knew that Week one that's one of those
losses where man, that's gonna linger over the team, and
that's gonna linger to an oh and two OHO and
three start, and the season's over and I'm looking at
is it gonna be nus Meyer. Is arch Manning gonna
suck enough to drop down the draft but still come
out we wind up getting arch Manning? Like what, That's

(10:33):
where I'm at right now. The season's over for the Jets.
It's over. If they if they somehow find a way
to win a game, hey great, But really they're done.
Teams in are rower and two are done now. It's
not quite to the extent that it used to me
because you have the extra week now, but what seventy
eight percent of the teams that go oh and two
aren't making them. This is not a Jets team that's
gonna Hey, we're a talented team. Where we started oh

(10:54):
to two and we find a way, we find our footing.
There's there's a difference. There's teams a boy, we're still
really good, like the Chiefs at oh and two? Would
you say the seas the Chiefs are still talented. It's mahomes.
They got to win and they gotta win this week.
But no, I can see the chief But for a
team like the Jets, they're done. And I accepted that
after the loss of the Steelers, because I've seen I've

(11:15):
seen Week one losses where it's just so damaging that
they're not coming back in all the And it was
fun reading last week all the articles of all of
this Jets offense are rebuying them. Look at their offensive line,
how good it is. Look at Justin Fields. Justin Field's
two passes on so he's like two for seven for
nineteen yards. I mean, it was awful. It was absolutely terrible.
And the Jets wound up not even showing up, which

(11:38):
I've seen them do that so many times early in
the season. Week two, your second home games. Now you're
oh and two after you've lost two games home, Now
you gotta go on the road. It's over. I mean
it's over. Justin Field's playing or not. I really have
no feeling either way on it, whether Fields was playing
or I mean, I guess if I was starting him
in fantasy, I would, boy, I really want to stay.

(11:58):
But Justin Fields starting to Rod Tailor starting, it doesn't matter,
Brady Cooks starting. I'm sure he'll start at some point
this season. Any of those guys. Really, it doesn't matter,
Like you really think that's good, that that's something that
affects me. Now I know I've accepted the season is done.
I'm just going raid for a therapist. You will be
like two hundred dollars. I don't know me listening to that.
You just have to sit here and listen. You don't

(12:18):
tell me. You have not told me one thing that's
helped me with the Jets. You just see you litten lets,
you nodre and you're liking there. I nod my head. Listen,
it's sixty five dollars. Make your check.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Am I really curing you? No, you're not standing here with.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Your finger with your hand full. Harmon said. Here's how
Harmon says, he's like like helping me. He sits there
with his hands folded with the look at it, nodding
his head like I hear you, I hear you. You're
not giving me anything. Man, You're not Jason Siegel and shrinking.
You're not Harrison Ford. Give me some fiffy thing to say,
oh hey, think about this and think about this and
think about this. No, you just sit there and nodre
and like, okay, great. Doesn't make me feel better. No,

(12:53):
it's that's not Harrison that good advice. It doesn't Jimmy
for I'd be really all Justina's big news today. Justin field.
Jets weren't winning anyway. They're gonna lose on Sunday. Whether
winnable games in a row doesn't got the Dolphins in
the Cowboy doesn't matter, doesn't doesn't matter, and then you get, yeah,

(13:14):
a tough one, and then you get the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
I mean there's you could be five hundred. What come on?
What a day for Bryce Young? Look at him?

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Look at the touchdowns to Teed McMillan. Who would have
thought that was coming.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Over under on when that guy's broken in half? Said
that for another time? Done. I mean I was going
to try to deflect to the Mets, but they lost.
That was sixty fifth game that they've lost, trailing after
a two game lead, with ten games left.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Everything that that's still the home runs again. Mets might
have to fly me completely over the Jets to get
the way to the next Nicks.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah, the Mets might have to do that. But watching
your mental gymnastics trying to go through that whole Jets thing,
I felt bad. I mean, look, I'm the Bears guy,
and you know I've been going through it, dealing with
a friend's family and everybody, like what's going on here?
Like I now have a boiler plate that I'm sending
out like it's a Christmas card. Yeah, it's like here

(14:10):
here's my response after we two. I mean, that's where
you're at. You're living to diet.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
A little bit at least, but you're a I said
last out. Your team is a beautiful mess, Like it
really is. It's fun because they're fun. They sucking their
fun for different reasons, not just fucking on the field.
That's off the field.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
We're just bad. But they've been a beautiful mess the
last couple of years, even during the eber Flues era,
Man and and those assistants going missing and all of
that stuff, Like there have been plotlines like some great
Hollywood movies for your jets. It's just, uh, what's what
year is it now, twenty twenty five?

Speaker 1 (14:51):
You're doing the assistance going missing like it's you know,
like it's Mayor of Easttown or they or the Task.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
It's more interesting than they were disasters. And so they
fixed the glitch. No, no, no, they never explained what happened.
Now they're all going missing in the greater Philadelphia area.
Where's Mior of Eastown or Task? We're all no, we're
all going missing. In the same place. So I'm sorry,
did you say tusk.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
That's why I like Task the TV show because it
brings back the accents. Now, oh no, you have the
you have the main bad guy. He talks just like
this the entire episode. It's awesome, it's fantastic. Oh yeah, Look,
we're we're gonna go in at night and we're gonna
take these guys out. We're gonna take out this biker gang.
We're gonna we're gonna we're gonna get the money and
get the drugs. We're gonna get out pretty fast and
go to wawall.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Can we get a crossover where it's some bastardization of
uh abbit elementary or it's always sunny when we get
everybody involved, it's a triple threat match.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
You make sure we get gritty involved somehow want to
get gritty and you know, go fly go birds, Gonna
go Birds.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Can be part of the cinematic universe that now has
an evil Jimminy cricket.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
And in the show, Now, I'm gonna tell you, in
the show, Ruffalo is a big Phillies fan. He has
a cup that he reads stats off all all the time. Hey,
you do you know hit the most home runs in
a season in Philly's history, is right is Ryan Howard,
Although I got to say, wait, is that like a
magic eight ball? Then he's got like a Phillies cup
with stats on it that he reads to people like
he's a FBI agent. And but I will say, Ruffalo

(16:15):
doesn't do the accent like Ruffalo is completely Mark Wahlberg,
where Hey, I've been in Hollywood this long and I'm
only I can only do one. I refuse, I only
do one accent.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
It's all the other.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Big all the other actors and characters all have the
accents down. No, the bad guy talks like this the
entire time. Yeah, it's fantastic. But Ruffalo can't be bobbing
apparently not. He's the you know, that's part of acting.
He's the doesn't matter, does he dower like he's the whole?
He did well, I'll tell you that this show is
really bleak.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Come on, it is. It is a really bleak show.
It's really really bleak. Yeah no, because East was so positive. Yeah,
real good time.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
There.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
We have more NFL on the way, a visit with

Speaker 1 (20:15):
But first, joining us now in the hot lot for
the latest on Cowboy Bees, brock Purty. Oh there it
is maybe the Jets. Maybe always something fun. He is
a Hall of Very Good voter, longtime NFL insider. See
him read him on the thirty third team. He's on
Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. He made sure to

(20:38):
hit me up on Twitter today and tell me, Hey,
Torod Taylor's going to be the fortieth guy to play
starting quarterback for the Jets since Nameath retired. Thanks for
pointing that out to me, Jay Cole, I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Well, I mean, it took less than fifty years to
do it. So I think that that's all about the Jets.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, I mean it's not like the Browns. Who I
think of that forty guys since two thousand?

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Really, I mean.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Really, so you're just so your justification that your team
is reasonable as a comparison with the factor of sadness.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, no, no, no, that's the whole thing is say, hey,
we're not the Browns, like the Jets slogan New York Jets.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
We're not the Browns.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
We're not the brown Yeah. Yeah, that's the way. That's
a way to rally the troops. Yeah, okay, yeah, but
a fireman ed ever put out a fire on the
Cayahoga River. Answer the questions that have to be answered.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Have we ever verified he was an actual fireman? He
wasn't actually was there just low? No, No, he was.
He was an actual fictional character.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
This is going to be the conversations that happened during
the Doctors Jets.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
He has not been able to put up the chemical
fire known as the Jets.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
No, hey, can two weeks from now Monday Night is
Jets Dolphins? Like, is there any way you get flexible
scheduling and that game gets moved completely off of Monday night?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
You moved to Saturday and make it part of the
college put it on the c W dark background and
microoms don't work.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Hey, hey, we welcome in those of you expecting to
see Iowa State and Nebraska.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Instead you're going to get the Jets and the Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Do we have selected the college game into Monday night.
This game is so bad.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Iowa it will be on Fox Business Channel. Tune over
to that right now if you want to go see
that bag.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
This is channel. That's glorious. Yeah, oh my god, that's uh.
Like the good thing is at least i have hope
for the Jets.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
You're the only one.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Well, now, I still hope that is going to be
a good coach.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I think he's going to be a really good head coach.
I meant hope for this year.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
No, there's none, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
But the Dolphins like, wow, that's bad.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Would this be neces sariously think about this? I know
there have been bigger point spreads.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Would this be the biggest upset of the twenty twenties
if the Dolphins beat the Bills tomorrow night?

Speaker 3 (23:24):
I don't know that you can. I don't know that
it's measurable against other upsets.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
That's how that That's how bad it is.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
That's how bad it is. What is the spread on
that game?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Well, what is thousand? It's twelve now, but it's probably
gonna up to thirteen for tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Twelve million. This is no way. There's a short week.
You have a full week to prepare to play the
New England Patriots. Eight partic of the mediocre squad you know,
like really not very good football team at home at

(24:07):
one o'clock in September in Miami, in which a situation
in which the Dolphins have won like seventy six or
seventy eight percent of their games because teams come down
to Miami in September and they just melt and the
Dolphins bungled that like it was so I mean, they weren't.

(24:30):
The problem with the Dolphins is they're not completely atrocious.
They do some things that are sort of interesting because
they throw the ball around and they can look good
for spells, you know, like five to ten minutes, you know,
like two drives, maybe three drives, they can they can
look okay, and the defense can do a couple of
things and you go, okay, I can really like spint

(24:54):
and see the makings of a reasonable team, and then
they just throw like stink bombs at themselves for the
rest of the game and just like look, I mean
it's so bad. It's so bad to watch. It's such,
it's such. I mean, this is why, Like when I

(25:17):
listened to the ESPN analysts, the guys who played, and
you listen to the way that they talk about the
way teams play football. It is not the specific words
that they said, but is the tone, which is like
can giveaway of yeah, man, that that's not really functional.
And if you listen, really carefully and then you watch

(25:39):
and you go, oh, I get what they're thinking. Like
the Dolphins just like they don't attack the middle, you know,
And this is more than just you know, you've got
to win on the line of scrimmage. That'll you know,
that'll pleachee crap. This is this is no, no, you're
not playing the game between the hashmarks where you have

(26:01):
to attack in the middle of the field to make
everything else work, and they just simply refuse to do it.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
To that end, does the sort of damocles fall to
where we're introducing a new Dolphins head coach against the
Jets for Week four on Monday Night football.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
When's then? I don't think so, when's that bye week?
I think that that's more likely.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
They've had two bye weeks already.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
No, no, no, their opponents have had two bye weeks already. Yeah,
whenever their bye week is probably more likely, is what
I would say. But yeah, they go to Owen all.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
The way to week twelve.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yeah, they're not going that long, Jacol not going melon.
Look what stuff happens on Thursday and Monday night. It
gets amplified. And if they lose tomorrow like forty four
to ten, which clearly could happen.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Like I think that's going to be it for Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
I don't have a good argument against you, which is
shocking to me because unless of your arguments are so bad,
they usually have a response. But I don't have a response.

Speaker 6 (27:09):
So like, you're not wrong, Carvillain, old school.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
That response was, that was that was the perfect argument.
We have no response.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
I got nothing for you. That's what it is. You
can be right. But they can do this at any time,
like they could do it like in the first quarter
of the game on person they could just walk out. Yeah,
it's not working for us. Okay, just go home. You
head to the if you if you, if you get

(27:41):
a fast start, you can get an uber to the
Buffalo Airport and Buffalo Niagara Airport. Just getting home. Okay,
it's no harm, no foul. We'd like to you're a
good guy, but go home.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
One was coming out to coach this team in the
second half.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Don't do that. Don't do don't you ever, never.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Ever, ever, ever, ever you are I'm not not allowed
to say one, even if it's a person's first name,
and you're not allowed to say steps even if it
is a correction to a typho. Not blond or said
you cannot put them together. No, absolutely, not Harman. You

(28:22):
should know better your you were a bear fan. You
saw that, you witnessed it as way way.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
All the pieces are in place, Jacoble Other than Richard
Dally yelling it's hot when it was one hundred and
fourteen degrees for three months in the summer. One of
the great quotes of all time in Chicago history, Dave
Wanstead going into a year. All the pieces are in place.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
So all the pieces.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
You You can't say nest or egg. You have to
say birds live in a place in the tree.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
When you have something over easy for breakfast, you can't say, no,
it's egg.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
No, it's it's birds live in things made of stick
or something like that. Is that what I want to recheck?

Speaker 1 (29:06):
You have things over easy for breakfast, you can't say.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Nest or egg.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
You know what? You cannot say wand or stats. You
cannot do it.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
There you go. Smith, you've been banned from saying and
uttering such things.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Oh my god, you just make you just you just
brought up like just five years of alish bad quotes
and me just terrible metaphors. And like, yeah, that's really
kind of a mute point.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Hey, Nicole, how deep a hold can can the uh
beautiful the I don't want to hear you either want
to I want to turn your microphone off as well.
All right, I'm unmuting myself. Hey, how deep a hole
can the Chiefs dig? While we still haven't put him
down like Bain where you can still get out?

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Oh, they're gonna win. Come on, they're gonna eleven or
twelve games when it's done. Yeah, let's not. Let's not.
I mean, twelve might be a stretch, but they're gonna
win ten eleven games and they'll qualify for the playoffs.
They'll be fine. This isn't just this is the flip
side of all the luck that they have last year.

(30:18):
As they were compiling all those wins, there's still a
you know, there's still a good team. You know. They
opened against a team that's playing as well as it
possibly can and looks like a serious Super Bowl contender
in the Chargers. And they played the defending champions who
are really really good, and they made some critical mistakes

(30:38):
in both games, you know, like Chris Jones deciding to
go inside when he's supposed to go outside in the
pass rush. It's justin Herbert get out. You know, that's
that wrexit at the end. And then there's Travis Kelcey
making a big mistake. You know, a couple of star
players making some big mistakes. They're gonna they're gonna be fine.
They got Patrick Mahomes, They're going to get Rice and
Worthy back, They're going to be all right. Don't don't panic.

(31:04):
Are they that good? I thought they over achieved drastically,
And it's like I sent a message to Andy Reid
after the season, a text to him and said, I
it's very rare that I've seen a team overcome an
offensive line that bad and do that well. And you
know that was that was the gist of it, and

(31:26):
they did because that you know, Mahomes was masterful in
playing small ball last year. You just can't play small
ball in football that long. You have to have real
guys who can attack the field. And they've got to
fix this sooner than later. I don't think you can
fix it in the season unless Worthy comes back and
is what they expect and Rice is and is able

(31:48):
to attack some break down some defenses. Although I don't
I don't think he's that guy, but maybe the combination works.
They really need to go out and get a real
threat to help homes out. You know, they fixed the
line a little bit, got more talent on the line.
They've got, you know, down left tackle. Now it's like,
you know, give him weapons, give him real, you know,

(32:11):
weapons to work with so you can get that closer
to the guy who was throwing forty touchdown passes.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is
at Jason Cole sixty two.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Thirty slashed back. That's so bad.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
It's always buddy, appreciate it, man. We'll talk to you.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Next week's Yeah, it's to me a point Okay later, Bye.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Bye, j Cole.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Look what you did to him on Stat's round Up.
It's a real mute point. Time not to find it
wants trending in the wide world of sports from Martin
Weise and up.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
What do you got for us? Man? We got two
live baseball games on right now.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Hew.

Speaker 7 (32:48):
The Dodgers would a three nothing lead over the Phillies
in the seventh inning. I had ninety one pitches still
in there, so don't worry just yet. Miami with the
five three lead over Colorado in the seventh inning. The
WNBA Playoffs, Golden State leads Minnesota sixty to forty seven.
Minnesota leads the series to the best of three series.

(33:10):
Minnesota leads at one nothing. The Guardians beat the Tigers
ford to nothing. The Tigers have lost five in the
last six games. Guardians two and a half back of
the final AL wildcard spot, which is being held by
Boston and Seattle now after the Astros beat the Rangers
five to two, Red Sox beat the A's five to
four in extra innings. Yankees, in the first wildcard spot,
beat the Twins ten to five. In the National League,

(33:32):
the Padres beat the Mets seven and four. San Francisco
over Arizona five to one, and the Reds beat the
Cardinals six to two. The Diamondbacks a game and a
half back for the final NL wildcard spot, Reds and
Giants two games back, and the other WNBA playoff game. Today,
the Mercury beat the Liberty eighty six to sixty. List
of Thomas led to Phoenix with twenty eight the best

(33:53):
of three series now tied at one a piece. Earlier,
we saw the Cubs clinch a playoff vers the first
twenty twenty beating the Pirates. The DC City Council voted
to approve a three point eight billion dollar plan to
build a new Commander Stadium on the current RFK Stadium
site in southeast DC. The stadium set to open in
twenty thirty and staying in DC. Commander's quarterback Jayden Daniels

(34:17):
misspractice on Wednesday with the spray knee, dan Quinn saying
the earliest Dans could.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Practice is Friday.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
Jets quarterback Justin Fields won't play Sunday, and Week three
already ruled out due to a concussion. The Chargers placing
Khalil Mack, linebacker on injured reserve after he had his
left elbow injured on Monday night. Mack expected to return
at some point this season. Forty nine coach Kyle Shanahan
said Brock perty limited in practice today, but the quarterback
has a chance to play Week three against Arizona despite his.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Toe and shoulder injuries.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
And New England Patriots quarnerback Christian Gonzales practice today. He's
been working back from a preseason hamstring injury.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Back to you guys, Magi Martin coming up next. We
got a big story out of CA college football. The
most high profile coach.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
In the entire sport.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
You now have to ask what the hell is going
on with this team every day? Sweet, that's next right here,

Speaker 1 (35:29):
With my best friend, Mike Harmon. Listen to bon Scott.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Part of time. The Jets are gonna be oh and three.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Yeah, we're starting Tye Rod Taylor against the Bucks.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Tye Rod Taylor.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
We're not gonna score tie Rod Taylor oh and three git.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
In the draft.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
So we have a real crazy moment. We're gonna bring
you in a couple of minutes from Major League Baseball
that I've again, that was awesome. I've never seen this before,
but we saw to usually something like this I'd expect
to see from Clayton Kershaw. Yeah, Evin Kershaw's got to said, wow, man,
this is something.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
But you and I looked at each other like did
that just really happened? I like, we're trying to hit rewinding.
I have no control of hitting rewind as I'm like,
got an invisible remote control in my hand, going come
on rewind twenty seconds. I need to see that again. Wow,
that was something again.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
We'll bring you that coming up in about ten minutes.
We're dotting our eyes and crossing on the way. I
have never seen this before. It is amazing, awesome, But
we just to just to throw here.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Deon Sanders is making another change of quarterback. No, okay,
now here we are. Yes, another week another starting quarterback,
but he is going back to the starting quarterback he
had at the beginning of the season, Cayden Ssalter.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Oh, the original highly side show Bob.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Transfer from Liberty right again talked about him. I wanted
the Syracuse to get in but now I'm so glad
we got Steve Aangelly. Oh, by the way, nations leading passer,
Steve Vangelly. Uh, So he's going back to Cayden Salter.
Salter started the season didn't play great Week one. They
had a really bad drive at the end of the
game that cost them. Salter made a couple of mistakes.

(37:39):
Dion did not use any timeouts. It was not good
for anybody. Next week, Dion decides, well, gooda give all
three of my top three quarterbacks two series, and then
whoever's doing the best after that gets to keep the job. Okay,
well stob keeps the job. Ryan Stop, third string quarterback
right after Salter led them to ten points in the
first two drives, Stop for two touchdowns. He plays the

(38:02):
rest of the game. Basically, he gets the start last.
The third string quarterback gets the start last week, doesn't
play very well. Didn't second half, they had no offense.
Now Dion is going back to Caden Salter. Like Dion's
gone from in the span of two years, a guy
that's electrified college football to a guy who is extremely polarizing,

(38:24):
to a guy that showed that hey maybe I have
what it takes to succeed at this level, to what
the hell are you doing?

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Man?

Speaker 1 (38:31):
You need an intervention. You need someone to come in
and go, dude, you can't do this with quarterbacks. You
can't have three You can't make three quarterback changes in.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
The first four week. Not even Steve Spurrier at his
best when he was pulling Danny Werfel and Terry Dean
and every other play, Not even Spurrier was doing that, man,
you change in course, this is three big changes in
the first four weeks. How do you expect to win.
Let's go back to mac Brown.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
This is not some sort of of of experiment that
you have with your team like this is this is
this is a Division one high level college football program,
and you're treating it like, Yeah, none of the guys
are doing what I wanted to do, so I'm gonna
keep pulling them out. Kupa, are you really leading or
are you just doing stuff for attention?

Speaker 3 (39:12):
All right?

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Or try under the guise of on making my team better,
because this is not making the team better. Change quarterbacks
week one to week two, week two to week three,
week three to week four, Right, and I could say
I could say these changes because really week two was
a change going from instead of one guy, everybody's getting
two series.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Oh yeah, because teams do that before.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
Like really, dude needs an intervention, Right, you have gone
from your Deon Sanders to Wow, man, I feel bad
what like what Deon Sanders has become over the course
of the past few weeks.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Well, we had all the questions and we talked about
it a couple of weeks ago when we first started
this Merrigo round. Was you go from the questions of
how long he was going to maintain his tenure there
at Colorado with his sons leaving and departing for the
NFL as well as Travis Hunter, and he came back,
we had that press conference. Was he gonna walk away?
A lot of health issues, have some disclosures, and then

(40:02):
still here we are and now it's the grasping its
straws trying to find the magic formula? Is that really
where we're at in this You're developing no level of continuity,
consistency and building for this year. And if you're just
gonna play the the hot hand or try to find that,
I mean, that's like Dodger bullpen Man. You're you're just

(40:25):
waiting for disaster. See what I did there? That's nice.
I like that.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
I mean, Dion, there needs to be some sort of
college football intervention, like what what the hell do you
really think you're doing? I mean, seriously, what what what
are you doing?

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Getting after it? Later on this week against Wyoming Man
good luck, maybe four quarterbacks will play in that game.
Who do they got lost? Maybe Josh Allen comes back
and plays for Wyoming. He's certainly not gonna have to
break a sweat tomorrow night. Ah.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Coming up next, Mike Harmon gave you a little bit
of a tease right there. Something I have never seen
in baseball. We just saw in the Dodgers Phillies game.
We break it down next
