tire buying should be. I'm on drop my pants right here.
It is a live drop Friday here on the show.
As you know, all the drops replaced by us doing them.
(01:02):
Lie huge boner, I hate that song. Uh. And we
are in the mobile tirerac dot Com studios tonight. As
Mike Harmon decided the Bears traded the number one pick.
I'm flying as far east as I could get. I'm
leaving the United States. He is in Florida, waiting for
a flight to land sufar the Atlantic Ocean. I didn't
(01:22):
think it was all the way out of the United States.
I mean, come on, now you're on your way, You're Florida,
You're the most eastern part. Now you're flying, you're getting out.
I understand the Bears. Did the Scared Bears trade the
number one pick? You're scared Bears thing? I saw the tweet,
and I refrained. I had people asking me if I
was alive on Twitter because I didn't have a litany
(01:43):
of tweets or responses to yours. All I kept sending
was pictures of Carson Wentz in a Jets uniform. Do
I put Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady in a Dolphins
uniform for you? Or we'd wait a few more minutes. Listen, listen, dude,
you know, okay, ay, no matter what, that's not happening.
Be I'd stick twoed up bears because I'm gonna help
you a little bit here while I also criticize you.
(02:05):
Is this is the genius of me. I can help
you while I criticize you. The Scared Bears trade the
number one pick, and I love what they got in return.
Both of those things can be true. So how about that?
So it's like I'm hugging you with one hand and
I'm stabbing you with an ice pick in the other.
How does that sound it okay? Is that we're going
full gladiator? Yes, in this scenario, I am Russell Crowe
(02:28):
and you are joaking Vehoenix. Are you not entertained? That's
not a drop on the show. That's just you saying
that it is. Now that we do not have that
as a drop. Then we do a live drop Friday
and it can be anything. It's just an excited oh no, no, no,
no Florida anything. It's possible, No, hang on, tell to listen. Drop.
(02:50):
Live drop Friday is a drop we play on the
show that we do it live. It's just saying whatever
we want to. That's that's not what this is. It's
live drop Friday. But dad was Frostburg all energized and
jacked up? Dude, Joel? Are you kidding? Frostburg's wearing at
Joelle and beat Sixers Jersey Because the Sixers beat the Blazers,
(03:12):
the Lakers are gonna move up again. I mean it,
the Lakers could just not play the rest of the
season and they'd end up the three seat. We're bad.
That's almost like it all. Nobody he's winning around it.
They're just they're just kind of treading water. And hey,
a d has a big game, and oh look we're twelve.
Oh look we're ninth. Oh look we're seventh. I mean
that's beating the Timberwolves right now as we sit here.
(03:37):
Oh my frost that's all. That's all Frostburg's doing is
now he's quitting his job as as radio producer for
the Chargers and now he's seventy sixers radio producer. He's
sending me all these Joel embad stats. Oh and the
winning shot and don't forget that's the play of the
night and all the all we're getting all ready because
Joel Mbaja's a new best friend, Joel the Joker and
beats the MVP for days. But yes, the big story,
(04:04):
we'll get to Aaron Rodgers in the big development coming
up in a few minutes. But the scared Mayors trade
the number one overall pick two the Panthers for a
very impressive haul. They get Carolina's first round pick at
number nine. They get a late second rounder, a first
rounder next year, a second rounder the year after that.
End they get DJ Moore. So this is what they get.
(04:26):
And trading the number one overall pick, they get a
first and a second this year, a first next year,
a second in twenty twenty five, and they get DJ Moore.
That is a haul. So let's let's do the good
part of this first, because it's Friday, buddy, and I
love you and I want to be happy for This
is a really impressive haul. I mean, this is them
taking advantage of the Panthers desperation because look the Panthers.
(04:48):
When you have a newish owner who wants to make
a big splash, you knew this was a team you
were going to be able to take advantage of and say, yeah,
I don't know, maybe a little bit, maybe another pick,
I don't know, maybe DJ Moore. I mean, this is
really impressive to move down eight slots when you know
half the picks are going to be quarterbacks. You're not
taking a quarterback anyway, So now a first, a second,
(05:10):
another first, a second, DJ Moore. This should be able
to It's a big gamble, but this should be able
to rebuild the Bears very very quickly. I am really
happy I have I do not have bad things to
say about what they got. The Panther's well overpaid, but
they're overpaying for what they think is going to be
a generational quarterback. But the Bears getting as much here
(05:31):
this early, and not even like right before the draft
where teams are getting desperate. I mean, this is really impressive.
And I don't have a butt until we get for
a few minutes. But I don't have a butt about this.
And there's no fumble I have gotten. Stop, that's not
I've never seen. Yeah, but I I know, I'm there's
(05:55):
no but about what they got on the deal. I
love what they got. I love, you know, being able
to who address a position of need at wide receiver
because d J. Moore is terrific. Now their wide receiver
corps allegedly is good, and they've set up justin fields
for success. Now at the other draft picks, they can
shore up other positions they need. No, I love everything
about the hall the Bears got. There is no butt
(06:16):
for that part of it. I love what the Bears got.
I love what they did. Yeah, I mean making the
trade weeks ahead of the draft a little bit surprising,
I would think, just waiting to see how desperate teams
truly would get. Warren Sharp at Sharp Football had on
Twitter just saying, hey, forget about don't forget about the
way the Panthers have approached the quarterback position these last
(06:39):
couple of years, trading away a second, third, two fourths,
a fifth, and to six to assemble a quarterback room
of Sam Sam, Sam Sam, the already departed Baker Mayfield,
and I got hurt year one. I don't know what
I am met Corral. So you've already seen them be
willing to go into the vault and say, all right,
let's trade away and see what we can do to
(07:01):
cobble stuff together, much like Indianapolis has gone to the
veteran quarterback round of one of these guys will work right, right,
maybe not? And so for this haul you get the
second back that you traded away from Claypool. Again, we
jury's out as to how good he is. Likewise, Dj Moore,
when you pair him up with a healthy Darnell Mooney,
they're speedy. There's not a lot of size there, so
(07:23):
that's still a little bit of a concern in terms
of bringing in a big body guy to go with Claypool.
You think Coole Comet could take another step forward. But
the Bears going into this offseason, as much as you
may like, and some folks hate, just to feel that
it's really that muddled middle of quarterbacks. Right once we
get to QB ten to maybe twenty four in our NFL,
(07:46):
it's all right. Now, it's just to pick your poison
and how much upside a guy may have. Well, they
decided there's still two more years on this deal before
we've got to make a decision on his fifty year.
So let's go and try to build around. Ryan Polt
said a couple of weeks ago when all the rumors
about Fields game is like, look, we stunk. We were
a bad football team, So anything is on the table.
(08:08):
Well take it off. Justin Fields is your guy, unless
there's some blockbuster trade that comes on the heels of this,
which really would be magnificent for our business and certainly
for our show. But in the interim, the Bears will
be able to address a number of their needs. Look
and and that part of it, I love. We're live
from the tirect dot Com studios at the end of
your first year, Discover credit cards automatically double all the
(08:30):
cash back you've earned. That's right, everything you earned doubled.
Seriously see terms and check it out for yourself at
discover dot com slash Matchley. I like to talk to
you for a few minutes about diabetes. This was a
great haul for the I love that part of it.
That part is separate from what I knew was going
to happen, because the haul in this trade is like
(08:51):
eating a lot of sugar. It is, and there's nothing
bringing in Brimley. There is, there's the exact see the
whole thing. I like, what you do? You know what's
funny backing at each other. I actually looked up my
Brimley date today. Your Brimley date. What does that mean?
Which is your age that he is? Oh? When Cocoon
(09:11):
came out? When he did? Because people always go, hey,
you know my my Brimley date will be uh July
nineth of twenty twenty four. Today is sir Chuck Norris
is okay eighty three? Baby? And yes, the joke you
saw you saw Bill Shatner in the airport, I did.
I didn't get to torment him and say Hey, why
(09:31):
am I? Why am I still blocked? But I mean
then I see a headline and says, hey, quote, I
don't have long to live. It's like, okay, why do
you bad? I saw him, So you didn't walk up
to him and say, hey, you block me on Twitter
and called him a legend? Said thank you? Oh wow
wow for someone who blocked you. I would not do
that for Jamal Adams, who was blocked me onto, I
would not do that for him. I wouldn't do that
(09:52):
until he's a jan again. Uh well, yeah, I'll trade
Zack Wilson for Jamal Adams. You want to say, you
come on, come on, come on, but this is someone
you trade away a sauce gardner. But now, yeah, among
the things you won't be seeing. But you know me,
I would have kept this pick. I would have kept
this pick. And the Bears were scared, right, they were scared.
(10:14):
They were scared of what would happen if we What
they should have done is keep the pick in trade,
justin fields. He still would have got a good haul
for him. He still would have got picks, and you
would have had potentially who was a generational quarterback in
Bryce Young? Right? Or you had any afford to do
that with every quarterback who might be a general, he
might be behind. You are picking first. You don't often
(10:38):
pick first overall. As bad as the Jets are, they
don't pick first every year. It just seems like they do.
They've only picked first a couple of times. Right, this
was a chance to get a generational quarterback where you
like justin fields but is justin fields. Trevor Lawrence is
justin fields. Patrick Mahomes, he's not justin fields? Is good?
I like justin fields. I think he's a good quarterback.
But you had a chance to draft number one overall,
(11:00):
get a guy who could be a generational quarterback and
be able to move on from your quarterback reset your
quarterback clock because now it's about building a championship team,
and we have the draft picks coming in and maybe
Bryce Young turns into the next Patrick Mahomes. Right, that's
what they could have done, but they didn't want to
do it because they were scared and paralyzed by what
(11:20):
either of the outcomes would be. If we pick Bryce
Young and he stinks and Justin Fields go somewhere and
is great, we're all losing our jobs. If we hold
onto the pick, and we don't draft a quarterback and
Bryce Young is great, Well, guess what, we're all going
to lose our jobs. How did you not pick Bryce
Young number one? Overall? Because the backseat driving on this
story will be tremendously negative and we'll call out the Bears.
(11:43):
The only way the Bears win in this situation is
if they draft Bryce Young, he is great. They trade
Justin Fields he stinks, right, So, but they're paralyzed by this.
Be bold take the quarterback number one. There. They stayed
with the guy that everybody questions about they and if
it fails, then they're gonna get blown out in two years.
(12:03):
They got two years to build a team around them.
All you heard what. The offensive line sucked, Their playmakers sucked.
The defense was terrible all the way down the line.
The only thing that anybody had anything to good to
say about it all was Montgomery and Herbert and Justin
Field's legs. So why would you not try to build
around this guy when you don't have necessarily the generational guy? Hey,
(12:26):
you just gonna wow that. I didn't describe the Chargers
in full, except you have Keenan Allen stats for days.
The other guy. Well, but none of them could stay healthy.
But you know, Todd Furman, our guy. He'll join us
later on tonight. Immediately offshore, CJ. Stroud became the favorite
as the number one pick, so telling me that Bryce
(12:46):
Young's a guy. And then you still have so many
prognosticators that think Richardson's the guy. So what are they
gonna do? Take out the dungeons and dragons die fifteen
times and hopefully get it right. No, I think instead,
you got a guy you think you can build it
hang on. I think what they do is their job
as talent evaluators and and say, okay, let's be bold
and take the guy we think could be it. Look,
but what if you know, but if you don't think
(13:07):
as good as Justin Fields, why would you draft them?
It's not how how do you know? How do you know?
Did you really do it? You you were trading this
pick as soon as you got it. They were trading.
I thought they were trying justin Fields, didn't you say that?
Didn't everybody start trumpeting that like it was Bart Simpson
with all of the mega boats, as you thought Northwestern
was gonna beat Penn State. That didn't happen either look
(13:29):
I planned and actually take a good jump shot. It's
not my fault that people are are decided we're gonna
run scared from Bryce Young because of his height and
his weight. I see what play that, you know what.
I'm sorry then, and we're gonna look back and go, wow,
we could have just like peace, go why didn't we
go get Patrick Mahomes. I don't know, because he played
(13:51):
for an offense that just threw the ball the whole time,
and you know he didn't think he was the same guy. Okay, great,
So what you decided to do is ignore three plus
years of tape and say, oh, he's short and he
doesn't weigh that much, but he weighs a little bit. No,
we don't want to do it. The Bears were gonna
trade soon as soon as it got too big for them.
They were trading this pick and they were gonna do it.
(14:14):
Chances walking through that that's super quarterback. He's not. But
this was your chance to have. Okay, we have the
chance to get any quarterback we want in this draft.
And if Justin Fields was great, I would have said, yeah, okay,
Justin Fields is great. You don't need a quarterback. But boy,
how great can you be and how set can you
be a quarterback? When if he's so great and you
(14:36):
still wound up with the number one pick, Let's realize
that quarterbacks elevate and quarterbacks elevate teams. And right now,
Justin Fields is a really good stack quarterback. He's a
really good fantasy quarterback. But he played most of the
season and you still wound up with a number one
overall pick. So is he really raising the level of
the team. That's what I would look at instead of well,
if we do this, If we did that, they were
(14:57):
moving this because this is what the Bears wanted. They
want to sit here right now and say, this is
what we want to do. We want to show you
that we got such a great trade that nobody can
question us. Nobody can question what we did because we
got such a look at this. Wouldn't you have done this?
Of course, don't second guess us. That's exactly why they
did this. The Bears, Bears, Bears, Bear. We got more
(15:17):
on the Bears, more on this trade coming up next.
I can't wait to hang. If that, if that happened
to you, how we've gone? Sorry, it's captain. If that happens,
I'll fly further east than Florida to it to escape
U social media and what happens if from Brazil he's
Jason Smith? Uh So, why that was like that got
(15:42):
a prescot, Mike gets swollen, dumb Jason Show with my
best friend Mike Harmon. We have more on this trade
and more on what's next for Aaron Rodgers because basically
the Packers spent today pushing him out the door. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show
with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific.
(16:04):
There's the bare side of it. But now the Panthers
are the team that own the number one pick in
the draft, and obviously the odds have gone up that
they're gonna select CJ. Strout is now the overwhelming favor
to go number one overall, because that's the Panthers guy. Now,
you talked about being bold. This was bold, bordering on
foolhardy for the Panthers, because boy, did you really need
(16:24):
to give up that much? Did you negotiate against yourself
a little bit? Because that's a lot, that's a lot
to give up. But it doesn't matter because if the
guy they draft number one overall is good. No, everybody's
gonna forget about the price you paid. No one's gonna
care if you take CJ. Strout or Bryce Young and
they're wind up good. It doesn't matter, right. This is
why we said about Hey moving up for Trey Lance
for the forty nine ers and making that trade. It
(16:46):
doesn't matter, right, if you make a trade for it
doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. This is a bold thing
by a team that we knew was gonna do it.
I told you the Panthers are going to really get
involved and do something bold quarterback wise. I thought it
was they were going to get involved in the raw Jers,
Garoppolo sweep steaks Lamar Jackson, and they were gonna wind
up getting one of them. Because that you knew they
wanted to make a bold, bold go at it because
(17:08):
they failed so miserably at quarterback the last couple of years.
But I knew they were going to be bold. I
didn't see them moving up to the number one overall
pick and getting it in exchange for this big haul.
So I like the guts, and no one's gonna forget
if you draft the right guy. Obviously, it's bold because
if you don't get it right, how are you going
(17:28):
to redo this team? If you don't get this right,
you do not have the draft picks the next two
years to get it done. And now you're three years
away from potentially trying to fix whatever is wrong. So
that pressure to get this right. Boy, you better love c. J. Stroud.
You better love and love and love and love and
love them to do this, because that's pressure. But boldness.
I like it. They had to do it, and mainly
(17:50):
I like it because they didn't commit the same mistake again. Right,
That's a big thing that people forget about when you
talk about in front off is making decisions and coaching decisions.
When you keep making the same mistakes that that's what
gets you fired. That's what gets teams to not be
able to go forward because there's no energy. We're just
(18:10):
making the same mistakes. Right, went out and got Sam
darn Okay, great, well that didn't work. Let's go get
Baker Mayfield. Okay, well that didn't work. Are you gonna
gonna go out and get another quarterback in free agency?
Jimmy Garoppolo is gonna come in and suddenly be the guy. No,
you traded away, Christian McCaffrey, you're trading away, DJ Moore.
You're starting over, right, you realize it's time we have
an Okay, we have some building blocks defensively, but we're
(18:31):
starting over now. So this was the right move. They
didn't They didn't go down the road of we could
potentially make the same mistake again by getting a veteran
type quarterback to come in and play. No, now we're
going back and we're doing the new thing, which is
let's go get a young quarterback because people don't care
and fans don't care in the media perception of team.
If you're going in direction, you're doing something bold. Okay,
(18:54):
that's great, we'll go along for the ride. If you're
doing the same thing over and over and it's not
working out for you, making the same mistakes it over again, hey,
you kind of have to change that up. Look at
what the Jets are doing. They decided, you know what,
we tried to draft a quarterback. It just hasn't worked out.
So now we're gonna go sign a guy in free agency. Yes,
because I can't tell you how that would depress everybody.
Depress me if they just said no, we're gonna look
(19:14):
for our guy the draft this year I beat Okay,
Zack Wilson's your guy. What are you talking about? You
can't get it right. Don't draft quarterbacks anymore, Go sign somebody.
There's a thing about making different mistakes that buys you
more time and reinvigorates a fan base and a team
and an organization to say, Okay, now they're gonna go
in another direction. We're gonna start over, We're gonna start
(19:35):
from the ground up, and this is where we're gonna
go there. Even if it's a mistake at leads, it's
a different mistake, and it's one made out of boldness
going forward, saying we believe that this is what we
should do going ahead. And I like that well. Generally,
when we're talking about gms and the opportunity to hire
a coach and go and find their quarterback, you don't
get too many bites at the apple right before you're
(19:56):
out of a job. The beauty with Temper is he's
an aggress of bold, agitated kind of guy. Right. It
always seems to be, at least from his reputation, a
guy ready to upset the apple cart, which means this
year they saw they had some good component parts. But
what did they do? They traded off everybody else, and
then you saw Wilkes do a hell of a job
(20:18):
the second half of the season to make them competitive.
And now you go and take Dj Moore, who had
a couple of great games and was often disappeared. And
this is where we start getting into how good was
your quarterback, how good was your other personnel, and go
on down that line and chase our tail with that.
But to your point, Jets, Bears, whatever, you've done things
(20:40):
in a certain fashion for a long long time. The Ravens,
how they've run their organization for years, It's been great.
But it took that weird month of Joe Flacco being
the best quarterback we've seen in a playoff run in
a while to get them over the top, even though
that wasn't how the roster was constructed, nor the way
they wanted to run their offense, all things being equal,
(21:02):
So when Lamar Jackson comes up to for the big dollars,
they get nervous because now they have to do business
a different way. For your Jets, it's the we've picked
time and time again Indianapolis. Right by all accounts. Jim
Ursey riding the Bear in Chicago on that thing he
wanted to show us from the sixties all those years ago.
(21:22):
While they didn't make this trade, doesn't mean they're still
not trying to get up to a spot to draft
the quarterback they want right and seeing if they can't
solidify that. But it's also moving away from all the
veterans and Ballard has to find a different way in Carolina.
You've gotten rid of a number of your name guys
who you better well be sure that we're looking at
(21:44):
Terris Marshall, Junior Leaviscus Channault and Shy Smith better be
one of the greatest trios at wide receiver ever for
what they're about to bring in Twitter At how about
a fresca Mike gets swallen down The Jason Smith Show
with Mike Harmon. Now get the flip side of this, right,
and this is here the Panthers they go in and
they make this move, and now the Bears have their situation.
(22:06):
They're picking at number nine, and now this takes the
apple cart. And think about this for a second. All
of the all of the let's just say the fun
drama that we've had the past month, past couple of months,
of Lovey Smith doing his best job coaching the Bears
by getting them the number one pick, by winning the
(22:27):
last game of the season for the Texans. Right now,
just think about how crazy is everybody's so mad at
Lovey Smith, the Texans. He's laughing on his way out
the door right now, Lovey Smith. What are they going
to wreck the statue for Lovey Smith in Chicago? This
is the best job he's done. Right, We're not gonna
get Bryce Young. We're not gonna get Bryce Young. So
they make the trade. Carolina comes up to number one.
C Jase Trout is now the overwhelming favorite. So now
(22:49):
the Texans, we're able to win that game and they're
still gonna get Bryce. Don't look like they're gonna get
the guy they want, right, Like, can love you go
back and coach the team and win another game to
get them to move back in. They won one more
game and pick fourth or pick fifth, because now he's like, hey,
this is fun. They're still gonna get the guy. They're
still gonna get Bright's Young, even though I won that
(23:10):
game and it was gonna screw them out of Bright's Young.
I have to ask this question, how many of the
teammates didn't go to Bryce Young's birthday party. Then he
could be in a free fall and did He's gonna
have to go outside and try to calm him down
and get him back in that room. And people actually
like him. I don't like Russell Wilson. You know, the Russ.
Russ is Russ. The thing is. And I'll look, CJ.
(23:33):
Strout's a good quarterback, and I get that. But teams
are now gonna be running scared from Why is CJ.
Strouts suddenly the overwhelming favorite? Why? Because Bryce Young goes
to the combine and we find out how tall he is.
We always knew how tall he was. Oh and he
and his weight is a little light. Okay, I get that.
I understand that. And you want you want your quarterback
to do different things, and you'd love him to be
(23:53):
six three, but he's not. You'd love him to be
have twenty five more pounds on him and still be
as fasty as budd He's not. It worked for the
Little Giants, but I watch, but I let's go. You know,
I watched him play every Saturday. The guy is fantastic.
And it's like teams decided they talk themselves out of
a quarterback and into a guy because there's too much
(24:14):
time between the end of the season and the draft.
Because now it's, hey, we're ignoring everything we saw on
tape with Bryce Young, and here he is a little
bit shorter than we thought and a little bit lighter
than we thought. So now, oh, we're scared about him. No,
I saw what I saw, and I see the guy
that's the most accurate quarterback that I've seen in a while,
and a guy that can read the field unlike anybody else.
He is absolutely fantastic. But now teams are gonna talk
(24:37):
the way out of it. But I'm talking my way
into c J. Stroud. How look at the look at
the bowl game he had. Look how great he was. Okay,
so wait, so the bowl game he had, that being
on tape is what convinced you to take him. But
you're ignoring the tape on Bryce Young. I mean it's
it's teams are so haphazard and they convinced themselves of
we're gonna we're gonna look for reasons to say no
(24:59):
on Bryce and yes on other guys when it's just guys.
What does it matter what a guy's measure? Look at
the tape. Look at what he's done. That that's the
guy you're gonna get. And I'll tell you whoever winds
up with Bryce Young is gonna get the best quarterback
in the track. I'm a big fan of his. I
see how good he is. I see a acker he's
gonna be. He's gonna be absolutely lights out in the NFL.
And if it goes around South and it's on you.
(25:20):
But remember there wasn't a was a time not too
long ago where Alabama and Ohio state quarterbacks you really
did put them through a whole other litany of tests
and prisms to try to kick the tires to figure
out what you had given past levels of ineptitude. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show

from previous we we actually do them live. So it's
icky Jordan loves zooie Z. Yeah, that's no, it's it's
Jordan loves zoie Z. That's Howard Goes thought it was
sticky Icky. No, no, no no, no, no, no, that's a
(26:53):
total different, totally different thing. Cole. Don't call me out, dude,
it's only two. Don't make me play the drop the drop?
Oh all right, play the drop whoom wow Yeah wait
a minute, that could also be playing the one second
down down. That might have been. We don't have that technology.
(27:19):
There's no many seen hamsters keeping the engineers keep does
hamsters going? Give him give him some of that guinea
pig food. Give it to him, let him eat it.
It doesn't matter. It's not for them. Give a guinea
pig steroid go go. I mean, you know, let's this
(27:41):
is how close we are because now with with look
the Jets have talked to Aaron Rodgers, the packers that
said basically got from scoop for you on the Jets.
You do it's Captain Carson Wentz. Here we go. Stop
shot up like that. It's got up? Shut up? Why
why would you? Why would you beat me on my
own news Carson on the Jets? Why'd you do that?
(28:06):
Why'd you do that? Stop? Don't make the Actually I'm
walking off the show. If that's happening, I'm walking off.
Can you imagine the Smith melt out? I think? Would
Bill to do the show for six months? Now? Where
are we going? Here's the thing, Frostburg every day sends
me a different gift of Carson Wentz in a Jets
(28:27):
uniform like every day? Yes, yeah, what would you rather
have Carson Wentz or Tony Tamil or better yet, Darryl Dragon.
I'll give you both. Tony Tanil and Darryl Dragon is
just well Ton Darryl Dragon. Jim, Jim, Jim, can you
(28:50):
believe this? Jim? Chip. This is a huge Jim Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Him,
Jim Jim. Oh my god, Jim Jim, you believe the
Jim Jim. You love my Tony Romo impression. You love
my Tony Romo impression. That was Tony Romo. Yeah, come on,
that's Romo. Everybody knows that's Romo. It's a big deal
(29:11):
on the show the last few weeks. You've missed that.
Here's here's the impression you're missing. You've missed Romo right
past me. I'm sorry you've missed that, and you have
missed the big one from last week, which was Derek Carr,
now the New Orleans accent, playing quarterback for the Saints.
(29:31):
You missed that's a big one too. I'm cajon Derek,
Derek Carr, always that gumbo. You gotta eat some of
those alligator wings, some kai An pepper on Young Guarded.
I'll tell you Bobby ain't Barry. I'm better than Bobby.
Ain't Beart. I'll tell you that much. Its gonna be
(29:55):
on radio. Is especially drunk drunk wo allegedly allegedly allegedly, No,
there's nothing alleged about that, all right now, less if
you've heard, if you've heard Bobby ab there's a bunch
of times he's been sought on airs. Let's let's go
back to this Jets newsweet. No, no, Bobby Abert, we apologize.
(30:18):
We never said anything like that. No, no, no, no, no no, never.
That's allegedly say allegedly allegedly. All right, so what you go.
You'll never be in as much troubles as Reggie Bushes
with Lloyd Lake. But that's a whole different story. But
that was you. You're the one that did that. You
lived outside that house for like six months. I knew
(30:38):
it was you month. It took me six minutes to
find out that they lived in the house. They put
their names in concrete in the drive way. Way way ways,
can you take? Charles Robinson and I are standing in
front of the house, going, how do we prove that
(30:59):
the bush is actually we just need absolute proof that
they live here. And we're like doing stupid things like
going over and had should we steal the male? Should
we like commit a federal crime in the first tip
Jason round. We look down right and all of a sudden,
it says the family name in the driveway. I mean literally,
(31:22):
they put their names in concrete. Awesome, just fabulous investigative
reporter Jason call Oh, yeah, they can't be this easy. Yeah,
it didn't like yeah, it was almost it was like
Chinatown Investigation. Like we just walked to the front door.
That's all we did. Yeah, it was like Roman Polanski
(31:44):
was standing in there with a knife. We put up
our nose and stuff like that. It was just awful.
All right, no doubt. What's this Jets news? Now? Okay,
what's this Jets news? What's I've been I've been pre empty?
I screwed it up? No, you got you said you had,
you had, you had the Jet scoop for us, and
Harmon started to Carson Wentz, what is it, Carson Wentz,
It's Carson Wentz. You're getting Carson Wentz. Okay, no, really,
(32:07):
what is it? What is it? Really? Get this guy?
Like now, Tom Brady is gonna play for the Jets.
That's where it's gonna be. Yeah, tom Brady's playing for
all thirty two teams next year. That's that every Oh
my god, So what's he gonna do like the first
half with one team in the second half of the
other team in the game. Is that always it's cover. No, No,
(32:30):
it's one team a week for every week. That's what
he's gonna do until he's played for all thirty two
teams in one season, and he'll retire every Monday and
then retire on Tuesday. Oh and pick his new team
for that week. Oh I like that. That's pretty cool. Yeah,
you know, I kind of like that. I'm retiring it.
It's the weekly Brady retirement press conference. Kim Gray will
(32:53):
go crazy. Yeah, all right, so what what is what
is this real? Jet? What? What is it really for
the Jets? What is really? Okay, move on to the
next subject. Let's go. I was going to make I
was going to taunt you with Carson Wentz because that's
what we do on this show. We've taught you because
(33:13):
you're a Jets fan and your team has never won anything,
so we just continue to talk to you. Yeah, are
you going to get Aaron Rodgers? Yeah? Probably it's going
to work out. Although Mark Murphy like, could you say
anything worse today? If you really want Aaron to go,
unless he's playing a mind game, unless he's doing some
ninja mental thing, you know, with this to say, we
(33:36):
want to get rid of you. So that that will
encourage Aaron to stay. Then, like this was just a
bad move because if you whatever Aaron thinks you want
to do, he wants to do the opposite of that.
He wants to be a complete contrarian and he wants
to be a control freak. So saying that you want
to get rid of him is the worst thing unless
(33:56):
you really want to keep Now. I want to come
back now, I want another contract extension, Mark, I mean, Like,
this is what I mean. Like the packers say nothing,
say nothing, he will leave on his own. Say nothing,
or better yet, say we need him so badly, we
(34:18):
beg you to come back. Do that. He's more likely
to leave if you do that. Like, don't you understand
how this guy's mind works at this point in time?
Oh my god. But maybe they do. Maybe it's like
they've said, we wanted to play one more season. But
what Mark Murphy. If Mark Murphy, and generally Mark Murphy
is not a conniving guy, so I would say that
(34:41):
this is not his m O. If this was Jerry Jones,
He's allied fifteen ways to Sunday to try and get
Eric Aaron Rodgers to stay right, But Mark Murphy is
not that kind of guy, Aaron Rodgers New York Jet.
It's all happenings. So is that good or bad that
he becomes a jet Jacob from from Green to Green?
(35:03):
There you go. Look, I think that it's I think
that it's delicious if he plays for the Jets, because
because Aaron Rodgers with the New York media every week.
Bring it on. Please, come on, man, you you really
think he doesn't have enough. He doesn't have enough smoke
(35:23):
for rich Smini. Come on, he's got smoke for Somemini, Serby,
everybody else been to me, he's been there. Don't you
talk down some Meani to me and he's my friend, Okay,
don't you talk down Samini? Okay to me. He's a
tough guy. But that's Therby, dude. You know, together that's
(35:43):
a tag team for the ages, Steve Serby and Aaron Rodgers.
Like that's just that's yeah, yeah, stop dancing it. Rogers,
answer this question. That would be us. Here here's France
Sessa and the rest of the talk radio again against
Aaron Rodgers when he says something stupid on the Pat
McAfee show and doesn't give them access as much as
(36:08):
they want, Like the worst thing you can do, like
only talk to Pat McAfee early in the week. The
New York media will go crazy. If he continues to
do the McAfee show and doesn't give them access on
a Monday and tells him everything they wanted, it will
be just utter claim. It will be a frame wreck
(36:29):
every week. Oh you talk to McAfee. Huh, well that's
what you're doing. Huh Okay, here we go. Let's get
started at Aaron you're a Yeah, it'll be awful, Hey,
Joel Sherman, fire up that headline machine gets something good,
which a rod will be worse. That's the that'll be
(36:50):
the head a rod too all over again. Yeah. I
like that. That's just I can do. I can do
those headlunch Oh and can you imagine him like coming
out with relax, guys, just just R E L A
X relax. Yeah, that's gonna work in New York. That's
(37:10):
gonna work. That's that's gonna go over the city that
never sleeps with the with the Jersey Shore crowd right
by the way, I was just looking at they were
like Jersey Shore is in Vegas or something like that,
Like they've been right, it's been twenty years now since
they did that show, shouldn't they be qualified for such security?
Man by man, they're hitting their Brimley age man. Okay, hey,
(37:37):
number one pick gets Dells, Bears get Dj Moore and
a bunch of picks. Smith calls them the scared Bears.
I try to use the word pragmatic, and I get
yelled at because nobody knows what that means. That's why
nobody knows what that word means. Pragmatism and sports can't
say that. You know, we could say that word. We
(37:59):
could scare you cleared. Let me look at George Carlins list,
hang on pragmatic, pragmatic, pragmatic in sports. It is one
of the seven dirty words, no question about that. Like,
we can't do anything measured at all. I will say
I didn't like going all the way down to nine,
but it is a pretty good draft. So they'll have
a pretty good choice of you know, the some some
(38:20):
nice alignement, which would be a very bearss thing to do,
or like if they went and got to Jordan Addison
kid to go with DJ Warren Mooney. Like regimes, you
just say we're going to load up on wide receivers
and and go completely against the Bears, you know the
Bears tradition on offense, and just say we're gonna help us.
(38:41):
We're gonna help outfield as mustard as we can to
make it easy for him to find open receivers and
you know, and just play three wides on every play
and bring in a kid like Addison Like, to me,
that would be just spectacular if they would do that.
Will they probably not? It'll be started key from Northwestern.
(39:04):
I need a fullback. I need Yeah, get me more
used check. I want scronsky and I want used check. Yeah,
more used check. And uh, give me a big old
dick kind of tight end. That's what I need, you know.
And then uh, he can jumbo come back like stuff
like that returns. I like it. And then there's this,
(39:26):
and then there's this and TJ. How about if us
check the draft and see who's available next? Okay, oh wow,
I just heard my record scratch you like that? I
could have done it a New York accent. Hey, how
about us check the draft and see why I didn't
see how what goes? Hey? That would hey get a
(39:50):
little of this use check right here? Um? No, I
mean the Bears. The Bears trade. Well, I don't know
that it's a great great um. I think it's I
think it's solid, and I just hope that they have
the guts to do something really interesting on offense. And
(40:12):
DJ Moore indicates to me that they're headed that way towards. Look, look,
you got Justin Fields. He's not perfect by any means
in terms of reading the field. Um, but they'll get
him some guys that can really play and get open um,
some guys with some size on the outside or you know,
or at least can really run and force the defense.
(40:35):
You know, you spread out the defense like that if
you get Addison running deep and mooning, and you got
and more like if you play with him, Yeah, Claypools
and more, he's not really that kind of guy, but
you know, if you had that, you know, as if
Claypools you're number four guy, that's that's awesome, right and
(40:56):
you you play three bass most of the time and
bring out Playpool or you know whoever doesn't quite make
the top three. Like, I love that with Fields, So
go for it now. Again, I think the Bears will
played or play the type at a certain point, and
they'll go for offensive or defensive lineman at number nine.
That's what they tend to do. But there's some value
(41:19):
there at wide receiver in that spot in the draft
that I really like. He's on Twitter at Jason Cole.
That is at Jason Cole check out his latest on
OutKick Hall of Fame voter. As he gets ready to
present Carson Wentz as a Pro Football Hall of Famer
in seven years, he will be the presenter, he goes out,
(41:40):
I forgot to tell you we are have him. We're
gonna have this big meeting next week to discus like
ways we can expand the class. And I'm like, no,
don't do this. Wow, You're gonna get more people in
the then it's just gonna be the Hall of Good.
Figure it out, frechs gonna be the Hall of Good.
There's there's there's a bunch of people who are like,
we need to have more opportunities to get on the No,
(42:00):
we don't. Wow, oh m Jason Coles. But he's sitting
there with his head in his hand. As rich Semini
is saying, Sanchez did have two years of over twenty
seven touchdown passes. He did have the most road wins
by a quarterback in the last twenty five years Sanchez
Hall of Famer. Let's vote on it. Well, you can't
(42:21):
tell the history of the NFL without the butt fumble.
You can't can't play. How about a little Brandon Barrios?
Can we do that? How like wing Crabet? Yeah? Anybody
else out there that like totally mediocre players? Yes, they have.
They have lots of mediocre guys. They have lots of me.
(42:42):
There's plenty of us. Let me know. It's the history
of the entire organization. I'll send I'll show James. Yeah,
it's name it and then everybody else. That's how it is.
I'm sorry, Namith and Revs and Cleco and then Gardner
and will sit and then everybody else. That's what. Take
it easy, buddy, We'll talk later. By Jacole
