Speaker 2 (00:21):
This is the best of The Jason Smith Show with
Mike Harmon on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I feel like like Fred Gwynn and my cousin Vinnie.
I'm Jerry Callo, c all okay, all right, end zip.
We're gonna settle this right now. If the Lions win,
every song the rest of the night needs to be
something from a Detroit motown artist, which means you could
have Diana Ross or you could have Sponge Okay, Detroit artist.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Could be anything. I really like to hear Sponge Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
If they lose, though, then we got tears for Fears
and Knight No, and it's never.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
A hear never What is the tenth anniver of whatever
was going on with Marshall Mathers and Booth. Oh that
is true, that is true. That is true. Right, I'll
give you this. I'll give you this. Lions win.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Every song is a Detroit song, Okay, Kansas City wins,
you get one Nickelback song one.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Why'd you say that? You get one Nickelbacks? Yeah, maybe
stage coach, you get one Nickelback song one one. I
get two. No Ah, you know what. I feel good.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
The Lions are gonna win this game. My Lions, My
Super Bowl Lions. Two nickelback SAMs. Can you even name
two nickelback nongs? You only play this one?

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I know, Jason, Just so you know, your curse on
the Lions is already rubbing off.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Oh boy, right now, Detroit and Kansas City fourteen fourteen,
five minutes to go in the third quarter. Chiefs have
the football. Patrick Mahomes. Oh, by the way, the Chiefs
leading rusher tonight. Yeah, he has just scrambled for a
first down.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
The Lions.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
It's gonna be a very it's gonna you know, it's
if they win. It's been If they win, it'll be fine.
If they lose, it's not gonna be a postgame press conference.
Dan Campbell's gonna like because we talked about the decision
to take the penalty at the end of the first
half that resulted in the Chiefs getting a first down
to the next play and scoring a touchdown to go
up fourteen fourteen. That's bad enough, now you add in

(02:21):
what just happened. The Lions had the football again fourteen
to fourteen. They were facing a fourth and ten at
the forty yard line of the Chiefs Riley Patterson. But
clearly the life of Riley not good enough to make
that call field goal kicker. They eschewed the field goal
attend done, that's one of my favorite words, and punted

(02:44):
to the Chiefs a net gain of about three and
a half feet.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
No that's.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Down, yeah, down to the ten, so the net gain
of thirty yards. They still put Mahomes down inside the
ten yard line. But you have a you have a
coaching call in the first half that is a little litle
bit questionable. I'll be it this one not asked questionable.
But when you start stacking questionable calls a head coach,
it's not man.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
But go back to how you got your game started right,
You have a your fizzle on a first possession right
opening day, Jitters arrowheads really loud whatever still burrowhead it's
not burrowhead. Burrowheads got paid. No, no, But that's part
of the deal, right, burrow it's not all guaranteed. Part
of it is a renaming of the stadium. We'll get

(03:30):
to that in a second. But you have the big
play of the fake punt inside your own twenty right,
what is it? The huge marbles right when we go
back to me, no marble. Yeah, So you have that,
and then down the stretch you have the play that
we talk about where you have a holding penalty and

(03:53):
instead of saying either punt it or convert your fourth down,
go ahead, convert your fourth down, fourth and a couple
of yards, you say, all right, we'll make it third
down again. Bad job by you give up the touchdown.
And then you left whatever intestinal fortitude you had on
the sideline doing that interview, because now you have a
four and three from the forty mister Chestey. Early on

(04:15):
you get the gimme, oh excuse me, touchdown by your
defense and now you're gonna go conservative. Come on, man,
where's the foot on the accelebrator? You're in motown. You're
in a car town, man, let's go. You're yelling so much?
What is well Why are you yelling so much? What's
happened to you this week? You've been yelling so much
because it's football season, No, but you've jacked up about it.

(04:36):
I've watched guys make millions of dollars and that's all
they do. I want that money time. It's very it's
very loud. Who hurt you this week?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Hurt? You knew Northwestern wasn't gonna win any They're not
gonna be good. They did score at the end of
the game, though, Yeah, that was nice though. The final
nineteen seconds did help gamblers. I mean, I know the
White Sox lost. I'm not even paying attention to them,
and you give now I'm gonna bet that they score
a point. Hey, you win right there over under of

(05:07):
three and a half. Jets. Now is what has just happened?

Speaker 1 (05:12):
The Jets are going to the Super Bowl. Did you
not hear my pick last night? Jets Lions, My Lions,
my Jets.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I heard it.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Jets nacked my ass off the Chiefs. You know, I
don't have to buy any food for you tonight, Frostburg.
I could just buy pizza. Well, oh, I don't have
to buy food for Tyser tonight either. Wait a minute, now,
I take back those nickelback songs.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I want a little too late. We got your credit card.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Well, well, seven minutes left to go, My Lions, My
Super Bowl Lions. Who I told you were gonna win tonight.
I'll take the five points, but I don't need it
because the Lions are gonna win. They have just taken
the lead twenty one to twenty over the Chiefs. Seven
minutes to go in the fourth quarter. David Montgomery, who okay,

(06:09):
I said less of him, more of Damir Gibbs. He
goes in for the short touchdown run Jared Goff, a
couple of nice passes, a big completion of Josh Reynolds
which set up the touchdown run, and now the Lions
have a one point lead with seven minutes left to go.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
My Lions nine play seventy five yard drive. We actually
saw a penalty called on the Chiefs, and I think
we all stopped and kind of looked around, waited for
something really bad to happen. Because there was a penalty
called on the Chiefs. But he's had two completions to
Josh Reynolds. They got some pressure. They got home on

(06:43):
a Jared Goff. He stood in the pocket, took a hit,
got pinballed around Reynolds on the big thirty three yard completion.
Seemed confused that he was downfield by himself and went
and kind of slowed up to just make sure he
secured them.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
He was running like when the fullback is in to
punch it out for me. I'm just gonna hold out
of the.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Down to make sure he covered up and never got
in the end zone and he started to put because
the attention was there. I don't want to give this
ball up. I don't want to give it up to
turn on the after burners. But you know, Gibbs here
on that possession your guy. Uh. And I warned folks
uh in the fantasy I want your flex preseason thing
that David Montgomery was going to be in pain in
the ass for Jamier and Gibbs. Guy. I mean, this

(07:25):
was like Gibbs when they had to go throw buckets
of water on him to wake him up when he
was in the big slop in pirates of the car
because he was nowhere to be said here, he says,
in a lot of power running, I mean Montgomery's averaging
three and a half yards of carry, Jamir Gibbs has
eight touches for forty five yards.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Uh, let's go with the more explosive guy. But yeah, look,
I get the dam I want to trust the guy
who's been in the NFL before. This is Jamir Gibbs's
first game. I understand that to a point. But at
the same time, it's like, dude, you need some points here.
You need to win this game.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
You need some but you know, slow, need some slow methodical.
Get that offensive line that we've read so much about
that we expect such great things from. Get the lean
gips will find his way, They'll they'll find more packages.
Because right now, on anything that he comes in, it's like,
all right, he's getting the ball, right, It's one of
those all right, spot like that guy, because I mean

(08:15):
he's not blocking, he's not there's really not a whole
lot going on, right, it'd say, all right, there he is.
He's getting the ball. So, uh, you know, just cover
him up. Whereas what Montgomery you call your offense, you
get in your bag. He will chip for you. So
now you've got some excitement, and it's almost like, you know,
they karma. The football gods heard me as well, pointing

(08:37):
out the fact that they've been so good defensively against
the Lions, and so you know, Chris Jones and his
box like, you know, I'm up, I'm feeling a little squeamish.
Maybe he's got the bubble guts because they're playing so well.
And then the Lions just get after it and smatch
it right down their throats.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Lions are getting the ball back on a third and two,
they run it jet sweep that the Lions sniff out
a loss of three yards. So the Lions are getting
the football back. Kansas City is punting. They have a
chance to run the clock out. They have it at
the thirty four yard line, five minutes left to go
and a one point lead.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
My lions, My lions, My god. The other thing is,
how salty are you say if you you went down
the road of trying to pick your poison on the
Kansas City offense. Not just your guy Kadarius Tony, but
you've seen over the course of the night, we're into
double digit receivers for Patrick Mahomes. I'm glad. I'm glad,

(09:36):
and right down there at the bottom with a whole
lot of nothing is sky Moore. Look, this is got
is what for? Four yard rush?

Speaker 1 (09:45):
There's gonna be a lot of big storylines coming off
this game, none bigger than Remember I picked the Lions
to go to the Super Bowl, and I told you
they were gonna win this game. So there's there's still
two hundred and seventy one games after But what do
you say?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
The show is tonight? The show is tonight, The show tonight.
I told you so when I picked the Lions, So
come on uh tonight to the Bowl. And brought you
by Progressive Insurance.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Right now, if the season ended, if they win and
the season ended after tonight, who's in the super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (10:14):
If the were canceled? Some kind of active guy to put.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
The Jets in the lines of the Super Bowl? This
hour the show brought you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes
bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by

I can already tell you who the There's gonna be
so many upset NFL fans after this game. And look,

(10:41):
we'll get because, as you mentioned, here's the Chiefs. All right,
Hey man, all I gotta do is get the right
guy and the Chiefs. And if I get the right
guy in fantasy, I'm gonna win my league because Mahomes
has got to find somebody, right, No, Kelsey, He's gonna
find right somebody, somebody, somebody. The Chiefs have had eleven

(11:04):
players touch the football tonight, either on a handoff from
Mahomes or catching a pass from Mahomes. Okay, eleven play,
eleven eleven. I'm like William Miller and almost famous. Eleven
eleven eleven. Unless you started Rashie Rice, who is just
having an okay game because he's worth ten Fantasy points.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
It's just okay. Three for twenty nine and a score,
and that is you and minus three rushing yard.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
You have gotten nothing from anybody. How many people started
Marquez Valdez scantling right, Well, he's gonna be the guy.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Two catches forty eight yards. Yeah, Justin Watson, He's well,
he's my guy. I like Justin No. Two catches forty
five yards I picked up Noah Gray and started him
because you know Travis Kelsey's out. No catches thirty one
six point one out of your fantasy tight end that
you picked up off the scrap heap.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
You could do worse. Well, we hadn't gotten too the
line three for thirty one. You were expecting more. No games.
One game's not over, okay.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Two.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
When we look at fantasy tight ends, the drop off
is flub With a lot of guys in the league,
you're banking on a red zone touch or and rolling.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
The You're not picking him up for six points. You're
if you're picking up playing him, you're like, he's gonna
get me double digit.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
No, no, no.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
If you're picking him up, guys, you know, but you
only picked him up because you had Travis Kelcey and
you didn't draft anybody else. That's the only so now,
it's the only reason it's at a twenty four points
for my tight end. I have six Isaiah Pacheco, bad game,
all right, Blake Bell. Nobody started Blake Bell, even though
I told you he was my number one tight end. Yeah,

(12:39):
number one. Every well, as we discussed last hour, I
mean Clyde Edwards Hilaire had the first couple of touches.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Richie James one catch, right, Richie James, the possession guy.
He's gonna catch all the bats.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Anybody see Ritchie Justin Ross, Oh, the Clemson kid, He's
gonna be a superstar. One catch.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Cadarius Tony, the number one dude, the number one guy.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
He's a new number one one in Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Kadarius Tony one catch, one yard and one carry minus
one yard. Sky Moore, as you said, the player who
everybody thinks he's gonna be the guy he's gonna take
over for Tyreek Hill. Maybe he's not Tyreek Hill, but
he's gonna be no sky Moore. Zero catches.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
And we look at the running game, nobody else other
than Patrick Mahomes is getting you anything. Pa Checko twenty
three yards rushing, Edwards Hilaire twenty two yards rushing. You've
got nothing from any except for a mid level game
out of Raschie Rice.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
If you're in a league where hey, I gotta go
eight deep at wide receiver, okay, I'll play this guy
the first time.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
So you play Rushie Rice, you get absolutely nothing.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Fantasy owner is gonna go I can't play and you
can't play anybody on the Chiefs outside of Mahomes and Kelsey, anybody.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
As we did the preview, the I want your flex
stuff up on the podcast wherever you get him and
talking about this game, it was all right, Kelsey doesn't
go what do you do? Okay? I guess As a
back end too, you looked at Pachecko, well that's gotten enough,
and he'd been out rushed by a scrambling, stumbling Patrick Mahomes.
But from the receiving cords, like, all right, if you're

(14:07):
forcing me to say, I've got a guess, yeah, Mbs
would have been the guy. Thirty four yard reception, only
two catches. Good job by this Lion secondary and the
disruption up front, Mahomes getting the ball out. You're not
getting any separation. You're not getting those wins downfield. Did
have the drive before the half, right, a couple of
twenty five yard pass plays, but you know those were

(14:31):
very rare over the course of this night. Or you
got any bit of containment, and when that you're depending
on Yak to get you the rest of the way.
Lion's looking to get that lean going behind that offensive line. Now,
your guy Gibbs comes back in at the five minute mark,
has a nice run and then promptly runs out of bounds.
So you know, chaos en SEUs.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, just think about all these guys. So that's
a bright side of it. Yeah, at least you know
the guys you can't play on the Chiefs now. It's
Patrick Mahomes. You can't you can't play, No, can't play mvs.
Sky more great, but check O Edwards, Hilaire Watt. At
least that decision is out of your hair. It's instead
of wondering and pulling your hair out going what Chiefs
guys can I play?

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Now?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
You know this is like a Guillotine League brought to
brought to life on the actual field. Right these guys
have all been eliminated from fantasy. Here we go, Smith.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Look a big moment in the game right now to
tell you about non fantasy related The Lions have the
lead twenty one to twenty just over two minutes left
to go in the fourth quarter. The Lions have the
football fourth and two at the Chief's forty five yard line.
The Lions elect to go for it. Jared Goff looks

(15:46):
for a receiver, has time, has his pass batted down
at the chase rimmage. So now the Chiefs will take
over at their own forty five yard line, needing a
field goal to win this game. Jared off has about
fifteen yards to run with the football. If he just

(16:06):
glances to his left, he's moving around in the pocket.
If he glances to his left, he runs for the
first down easy and he gains maybe ten or fifteen yards.
But he tries to throw back across his body and instead,
Now the Chiefs get get the football back two and
a half left to go down by one. And this
is where Mahomes always does his best work, right, this

(16:27):
is where hey, I feel a little I feel a
little bit. Now, hey, you're gonna give me another chance. Here,
you're gonna put the ball back in my hands. This
is when Patrick Mahomes does his best work. However, I
will say one thing. He needs to stop throwing the
ball to Kadarius Tony. My god, Kadarius Tony is wide
open downfield. On this is a twenty five yard game

(16:52):
for the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Easy.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Now it's a little bit off and Kadarius Tony has
has to turn back.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Around for the ball.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Now, maybe you're not going to get a lot of
yak because the pass was off a little bit by Mahomes.
That was off a little bit, so you're not gonna
get a lot of yak. But he turns this ball's
right in his bread basking and it bounces off his
hands and it hits the ground. It could have been
twenty five yards instead, it's an incomplete pass. This is

(17:18):
about to be Really, I wish I had traded Canarius
Tony this summer when things look great.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
I wish I had traded him. Those yellow gloves clearly
have no stick them whatsoever. There's nothing. Go find a
van of honey or something on the sideline. Good god man,
he has been awful, awful this ole game. And that ball, yes,
what was it? A perfect throat? No, But you're a
professional wide receiver. Catch the ball, fall down right, do

(17:47):
what Peyton Manning always did in the pocket as it
was collapsing your legs. Just go out for Moundy. I'm done,
I give up. I'll take my down and live to
see another day. You have one of the best kickers
in the game, and obviously Mahomes working to try to
make plays. But now you're behind the chains. After the
penalty and a third and twenty now coming up, Kadarius

(18:09):
Tony the Goat, the goat if there ever was.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Joining us now in the hotline back for another year.
So excited to welcome him here NFL on Fox Insider Extraordinary.
It is Jay Glazer. Jay, what's happening? Buddy? Happy NFL beginning?
Welcome home.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Man, those are the peel great man. Guys are way
bluer when NFL's around.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Yeah, and I feel great because I said last night
the lines are gonna win this game. I'm feeling awesome
right now. Jay, I'm feeling awesome right now.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
You did you had that feeling? I gotta tell you
what you know? I you know, I just got back
to my training cap tour. Let's say Thursday, Friday left.
Friday left like July twenty fourth, and I was like, man,
I just didn't see a lot of teams in the NFL.
I was like, man, this team's gonna come out and dominate.
And look, I end up. I didn't go to the Eagles,

(19:06):
but the team of the NFC teams I did go
around saying, I tell you what, man, the culture changer
of all culture changes, I've seen it, and definitely with
Dan Campbell's doing over there in Detroit. I told Dan too,
I said, listen. And nowadays a guy like him, he
goes so much further than a different What I mean
is he's so damn authentic, and he's got their coffee

(19:30):
on their phone, burier in their heads, and you know,
fake stuff on Instagram and fake stuff on Twitter and
fake highlights all day on Facebook. You know what I mean,
It's it's and boxed. Nothing's real. When you got a
guy like him, it's so incredibly real and authentic. He
just man, he just he touches these players in a
different way and he gets the most out of him.
And man, they are believing over there.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I would say this, Jay, the one thing that you
know as much as I'm a Chicago kid, so watching
the Lions be able to go to smash Mount football
with David Montgomery behind that offense of line and then
mix in some Jamir Gibbs, I mean, we know what
the passing game can do. Now now you've got you
can pick your poison. Trying to defend that.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
And that's but the job they've done. Also, you know,
draft wise, when they did have their drafter, some people going, oh,
Gims and what do you have get? I mean he
is a playmaker, kind of like an Alvin Kamara, you know,
very versatile. And then you know it was Campbell. People
were raising their rides. But the thing that they like
to do is they're gonna get guys they know, we'll
just go, you know, all out for you constantly. Look

(20:30):
look at eight Hunchins in a year ago. They were
locked in on him right man beforehand, but they were
hoping to hit Jacksonville Wood would decide not to go
for him. And back then everybody said, well eight and
Hunches today probably hit the ceiling. And they're like, we're
gonna take those guys who hit your ceilings if they
work twenty four to seven. The big thing is in
college you work on your craft a few hours a day.
What kind of guys when you come out or you're

(20:53):
gonna be when you have an extra twenty hours a day?
What are you gonna do with those extra twenty hours?
And that's the type of guy that Dan Campbell and
Brad Home gets in there and they really mold really well.
And look, I know, even defensively, the fact that what
Aaron Glenn did over there to stop this offense, and
without Travis Kelcey, certainly it's gonna you know, that's gonna
help them. But you still got passing mahomes over there.

(21:14):
That's Michael Jordan on the other side, and you know
what he does is ridiculous. So I think all around, man,
that there was a huge, huge thing for Detroit, not
just you know in there as they ascend. You know,
there's been a culture problem there for a long time,
and this is really showing them, no, it's not the
same old Lions. They can start believing in the past

(21:36):
when when little finsher had happen in games with the
lives and the player coaches, it all be like, oh
here it goes again. Yeah, there we go again. And
that's just not I don't see that happen this year
with Dan Campbell's unit.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
All right, Jay, let's go to the other side of
the field here.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Obviously, we know the Chiefs when you were that your
best defensive player, Chris Jones defense played pretty well tonight.
Missing Travis Kelcey. Is this as simple for the Chiefs
as getting him back on the field, or are there
bigger issues for the Chiefs right now?

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Well, obviously saw you know the offensive lineman they struggled.
I think those tackles at Todds, which they knew were
gonna was gonna happen. Also, but yeah, Travis Chelsea is
huge that he's the best tight end the football on
the best weapons door in football. You take a guy
like out of that out of the equation so late. Also, yeah,
you're you're that's that's a recipe for for for what

(22:26):
you saw tonight. But I think when you get Travis
back in there, Look, it's not a team that you're
gonna sit there and go, oh my god, Ken sitting
their own one. This is the start of their their demise.
It ain't the start of their demise. Can'st to be
right back in there in the postseason, guarantee it.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Founder of m VP Unbreakable Performance, our Mental health Warrior
back with us for another year uh NFL on Fox.
He's a broadcasting Hall of Famer, He's our guy. He's
Jay Glazer at Jay Glazer where you find him on
Twitter and the News that Broke. In addition to the
Game today, Joe Burrow got paid.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
What do you think it took it a year?

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Did you think the Bengals would cut that check?

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Hey? That so? Who would have ever thought a million
years the Bengals would have the highest paid player in
the n NFL history do the best.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
I don't know if they have the money for it, ja,
I don't know if they they're gonna check and make
sure that those checks can clear.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
I don't know, Man, they start selling in that stadium,
I guess, yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
I gotta say I was a little surprised. It's weird
because on the one hand, I could say I was
really shocked at the Bengals gave one player this kind
of money. On the other side, I said, I thought
Burrow would get more per year. I thought he'd be
up over sixty and you know here he is at
fifty five. Yeah, I thought he would be the guy
to set that bar just a little bit higher.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
I was actually he was that much higher than uh
that that then they gut charged just Nerberg. I thought
he's gonna be right there. Plus a couple of hundred
grand that was it. So no, I was I was
actually a little surprised, pecially for the Bengals, they would
go that much.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Over now, Jay, we we always know you've got some
good road stories when you're doing your training camp tour.
Who'd you pull the best prank on this year?

Speaker 4 (24:07):
Yes? This year? Oh so I tell what happened the
other n I ended up not doing it, but Pete Carroll
was gonna have me sit stand next to him at
his press comference the other day and for me to
be as conscious. So when Pete said, you know, hey,
when I asked him a question for you know, what's
happening with your work, you our receivers risks for Pete
to say, you know, hey, guy, you know stay to day.

(24:29):
You know you're really taking it. You know it's just
one day. At the time, I would say, then, yeah,
I think I'm paid attention to biology class. I don't
was going out with that guy. He were like, come on, rolling, rolling,
But I actually had I had Rosie on the road
trip at that point with my friend's wife and I
had to get going there. So I was like, ah, Pete,

(24:49):
I can't do it this time.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
All right, now, I know your latest Unbreakable Mental health
podcast you had Sean McVeigh on. I had had a
real funny bit the other night with the Manning The
Manning Cast commercially.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Dude, what some stuff you got from him? The last one?

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Oh? You know, but just this in this mental health podcast.
Here's my first yet fifty two weeks ago. So he
went through it this past year. So he was real
and he and I talked a lot about what goes
on between his ears, because there was a time that
he was like, you know, he had to take time.
Am I going to come back? Am I going to
go coach again? Am I going to go into TV?
It's the second year in a row. And he was

(25:27):
really raw and honest, and he even said to himself,
he says, I can't believe I was even thinking about it, Like,
you know, that's not me. But I had to get
to a place where I was happy. And I think
the greatest thing he said that when I started going
downhill in a little spiral last year, I started reverting
inwardly when I need to really reach out outward to

(25:47):
the people that are around me, and I didn't do that.
And if there's a message that I tried to put
out there for everybody with mental health, this man, lean
into your teammates, lean into people who are next year
to you. Right, and you're left and your family, your friend,
your teammates, your coworkers, whoever it is, they wanted you there,
they helped you out. And I kept saying to the
Shawn last year too, and he kept just sinking inward

(26:07):
and inward and inward, and he was really raw and
real about, you know, those kind of emotions that he
went through last year. I mean, he opened up about
that and a lot more. You know, you don't really
hear head coaches talked that openly about their feelings, you know,
and about what goes on in the stressors of the
head coach, like he did Sean mcvagh on this week
some Breakable mental health podcast.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Yeah, get that wherever you download your audio, Jason, and
I'll make sure to put that out on Twitter as
we wrap up with you here, Jay. But to that point,
McVeigh coming back.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
For this, he's different though, and we talked about it,
and his last question to me was, Hey, do you
see as your friend? Do you have I changed? Likely
he said it to me like very honestly, He's like,
I haven't asked you this, but have I changed? Have
you seen it? And I want everybody to listen to
what the answer is, but you know, it's funny that

(26:59):
we're a camp to O and the you's the funny
thing camp and you know he's trying to be, you know,
a different Sean McVay. Well, the video school board kind
of locks up and I yell out, I'm on their
sideline and I yell out, well, you're about to see
if Sean McVay has changed or not. Everybody's afraid to laugh.

(27:19):
He hadn't changed. They're about to get their butt, you know,
just and instead, Uh, he was like Tom, I was like, okay,
test one path. He's okay, We're okay, everybody. That's pretty funny.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Well, Jay, when we look at what he's coming back
to and with this RAMS squad, he's got seventeen tests
to come or at least outside looking.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
In definitely come yeah, he really doesn't. Cooper is not
going to be there for a while. I'm thinking as
he tries to figure out, you know, trying alluded to
a little bit that is a nerve and issues his
nerve and he's trying to figure it out, Missue. I'll
be honest with you. I called the RAMS and I
tried to push to them. I went down to Panama
this off season got stem cells and for my a

(28:00):
week away from getting my L four L five fused,
and it has changed my life. I'm nerve paining free
for the first time. The first rough show I had
in my back was two thousand and one at tends
Up Great used to him, and man, I've been just
living in pain ever since. I've had five roughses of
my L four L five four, of my O one
L two and the ruptures of teas where the teas

(28:22):
meet your ls, and it's just been awful. I had
foreign labor and broke my ankle twice. And you know,
you guys know I fight trained for a while, but
I'm not a good fight.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Or so well. I mean, I saw the spin kick
you were working in the latest videos.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
So I'm, you know, just beating the hell and this
this place, this place called the Origins down and Panama
has changed my life. And I literally called the Rams
yesterday saying, guys, I would send Cooper down there. It
can't hurt you. And it's always for three D eight
set them down. It's just thinking, help regenerate that, you know,
just take the inflammation out of that nerve. Man, Why

(28:55):
wouldn't you. So let's see. I don't know if they're
gonna or not, but I at least time to my
my you know, two sets my medical degree that I
don't have.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Yeah, No, now you're taking doctor doctor J. Glazer. Now
that's we're gonna introduce you on the show. Now, doctor
J Glaize. Onday morning he shows up in a lab.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Coat, cut off, foxing up all Sunday when I get
the injury. You got to see out of them talking
about the injuries and ins and out all that. You
guys don't know. But I have Howie and Terry and
strained Jimmy right there looking at me, like just going
into me because I start getting the medical terms and
they are killing me. Off to the side. You got
some man, Hey, that red light, don I'm just looking

(29:32):
at that red light. I'm trying to flock him out
of my purple vision.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Check out the latest Unbreakable Mental Health podcast, the year
anniversary of the first episode. Sean McVay back again. Now
I want to ask you this, Jake. Now, do I
get to see Sean mcvay's face or does he have
the clipboard over it as he talks?

Speaker 4 (29:52):
But how are we not going out with his beard though.
You gotta look at that.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Yeah, it's very much like Hugh Jackman and the X Men.
That's kind of what he looks.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Grooming issues going on there.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
On Twitter at Jay Glazer, that is at Jay Glazer buddy,
awesome stuff, welcome back man, looking forward to another season.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
He's the best Jay Glazer. Here goes Jay Glazer. I'll
tell you
